- 0:02Welcome to the Winning the Week with Scott Auld livestream and podcast this is
- 0:07your episode 67 for September 23, 2026.
- 0:13We saved a seat for you here at the cool kids table, you're always welcome and
- 0:16if you forgot your lunch, I'll share my fries with you.
- 0:21Tonight, we're gonna go through quite a bunch of cool stuff.
- 0:24I got the simultaneous sip lined up.
- 0:27We're gonna do some stats from last week.
- 0:29I've got a really weird programming note I wanna share with you.
- 0:31We'll talk about clipping livestreams.
- 0:34I wanna tell you about this epidemic sound violation I got.
- 0:38And we're gonna talk about podcasting.
- 0:40And I wanna share with you how I spent my Saturday filming a sitcom.
- 0:45So you don't wanna miss that and of course we'll do the commenter, the
- 0:48encourager, winner of the week and this week's video.
- 0:51I got a really cool tip of the day you don't wanna miss and of course we're
- 0:54gonna finish with our producer shout outs.
- 0:57So why don't we start off with the simultaneous sip as always in honor of the
- 1:03late great Scott Adams. Dearly missed and he always started his podcasting
- 1:09livestream with the simultaneous sip and we're keeping it going, we're keeping
- 1:12it rolling. All you need is a mug or a glass, a tanker, chalicer, stein, a
- 1:17canteen jug or flask, a vessel of any kind.
- 1:21Fill it with your favorite liquid.
- 1:23I'm gonna give you one guess what I have here.
- 1:25I have some beautiful Publix diet brewed sweet tea.
- 1:29And join me now for the unparalleled pleasure, the dopamine hit of the day, the
- 1:34thing that makes everything better.
- 1:35It's called the simultaneous sip and it happens now.
- 1:39Go.
- 1:44And to answer Jenny's question from earlier, yes I did put a sticker on the
- 1:47bottom of my Yeti. I remembered.
- 1:49Go me. Nice job Scottie.
- 1:53So just a quick reminder if you would like some stickers and magnets I'd love to
- 1:57send some to you for free.
- 1:59I have a whole drawer full of envelopes and stamps here.
- 2:03And I got plenty of stickers that I would love to send your way and magnets.
- 2:10So you just have to fill out the form in the video description.
- 2:13I promise I won't send you any kind of crazy newsletters.
- 2:16I keep my conspiracy theories to myself.
- 2:20I don't have a newsletter telling you all kind of crazy stuff.
- 2:23I don't spam you and I don't sell your content or your data.
- 2:28As if I could. I wouldn't even know how to do that.
- 2:31But I will send you some free stickers and magnets if you just fill out the form
- 2:35and tell me where to send them.
- 2:37And I'd be happy to get those going to you.
- 3:04Just a a
- 3:10week after week after a week.
- 3:11We've been doing it for a year and a half now without missing a Wednesday night.
- 3:16And it's incredible.
- 3:18You can see the top 10 commenters up here.
- 3:21CEL coming in first place by a long, long margin with two hundred and sixteen
- 3:26comments and then Jenny with one hundred and thirty two.
- 3:30And the rest of you folks trailing behind them pretty well here.
- 3:34We see Devin and Mike and Jay and Richard and Fred and
- 3:40the grandpa and Flight Quest and Miss Emily trailing in at number 10.
- 3:45So I don't know what to say.
- 3:47Tonight's comment goal should be we hit a thousand.
- 3:52And to me, I mean, I can't imagine setting goals above that.
- 3:56So I think maybe we don't actually have a goal number.
- 3:59Maybe we just go to see how high we can go and just, I guess, try to beat one
- 4:04thousand fifty three. But, you know, I don't want to push you guys to talk more
- 4:08than you want to talk. I want you guys to feel comfortable in the conversation
- 4:12and just speak as much as you feel comfortable speaking.
- 4:18So yeah, Jenny, Rob, the meritimer wanted to take a Wednesday slot today.
- 4:22I hope you told him it was officially winning the week Wednesday.
- 4:25I think that Mike might have said that or somebody on the chat said happy
- 4:28winning the week Wednesday on his livestream because he moved his livestream
- 4:33from Tuesday to today, which is awesome.
- 4:37I was actually emailing with him this morning on some other topic and he said,
- 4:41don't worry, I'll be done by the time you're finished by the time you start.
- 4:44I said, well, yeah, I don't think you're going to go seven hours.
- 4:47But if it does stretch to seven hours, you got to stop.
- 4:50So he didn't go seven hours, thankfully.
- 4:53Hey, Fred, Fred's in here with Jay.
- 4:55So see what else is there?
- 4:58OK, yeah, this was kind of weird and I don't know what caused it.
- 5:01But last week's Wednesday livestream unexpectedly took off on Saturday and
- 5:06Sunday. I don't know why, but the rewatch, it just went crazy.
- 5:12Shot up to right now it's up to like five hundred twenty one.
- 5:15So it's climbing at a normal steady rate now of less than ten a day, which makes
- 5:20sense.
- 5:22But boy, I tell you, just for those two days, it was going nuts and people were
- 5:26watching that livestream.
- 5:49I don't know. On that topic, sort of, C.L.
- 5:53here said, I like the way you're using the livestream to make multiple breakout
- 5:57videos. So, yeah, you can do this very easily in YouTube.
- 6:01You can open up the editor, you go into the video, you go into the editor of the
- 6:06video and there's a built in timeline clipping editor where you can select a
- 6:12portion of a video like set a beginning marker and end marker and then click
- 6:17save as new. And you can save different.
- 6:20Parts of an existing video as a new video and it just creates a new a newly
- 6:23created video copies the title and description over and then you can change it.
- 6:28So I did that to actually four.
- 6:31Videos because there was four things from last week's livestream that I wanted
- 6:34to make into their own videos.
- 6:35The the AI talk for 13 minutes, my mail opening, four minute mail
- 6:41opening from Tracy and then my little talk about YouTube's numbers being weird.
- 6:47How it seemed like the number reporting was different in four different places
- 6:50and then talking about podcasting a little bit for eight minutes.
- 6:55I mean, you know, I made four separate videos on those and I didn't expect them
- 6:59to blow up or get bigger something.
- 7:01But as you can see, 76 views,
- 7:0462 views, 34 views. You know, that's that's a couple hundred views right there
- 7:09that I wouldn't have had. I would have just had the YouTube and that's with the
- 7:14livestream itself still taking off and doing 500 views.
- 7:17So if you haven't ever made a clipping from a small section of one of your live
- 7:23streams, it's an easy peasy way.
- 7:26I learned about doing that actually on my church's live.
- 7:30My church's YouTube channel.
- 7:32I managed the YouTube channel for my church and I figured out you could do that.
- 7:37So what I do is after the church livestreams Sunday is over.
- 7:41I go in and I make a sub video of just a pastor's message, his little sermon.
- 7:46And I make that as a separate video and I just clip it right there in YouTube
- 7:49and just say, make a new video out of this thing, you know, and it's real easy.
- 7:52So once I learned you could do that, I'm definitely doing that on my own live
- 7:56streams once in a while. So I wanted to share this with you guys.
- 8:00I got hit with a violation by a company called Redpoints representing Epidemic
- 8:04Sound. And some of you may have seen something like this before, but I wanted to
- 8:09share it with you and talk about it.
- 8:12It says your upload has been flagged for enforcement.
- 8:40Redpoints acting on behalf of Epid
- 9:16It says, which YouTube channel as soon as you click that, it says this will give
- 9:20Redpoints access to your stats and all this other stuff.
- 9:24And I said, hang on a second.
- 9:27My Spidey sense is going off all of a sudden and it should have gone on before I
- 9:31ever click the first button.
- 9:33But here's the thing, you guys, this thing's a scam.
- 9:36Turns out Redpoints is nothing to do with Epidemic Sound.
- 10:12That's the worst email address I ever saw.
- 10:15Real Redpoints uses at redpoints.com.
- 10:19The next one is the case portal is not their official site.
- 10:22Redpoints real site is redpoints.com.
- 10:24The email pushes cases.redpoints.legal and wrapped postmark tracker links.
- 10:28Those rappers hide the final destination.
- 10:31The next one says Epidemic Sound does not work this way.
- 10:33They already enforce music through YouTube content ID.
- 10:36A real claim shows up in YouTube studio.
- 10:39The next one says Epidemic Sound itself has said Redpoints does not affiliate
- 10:43with them. The message like this should be treated as phishing.
- 10:47And then the next one down says the lure is classic phishing, urgency, respond
- 10:50before enforcement, legal threat, pre- action letter, civil proceedings, a
- 10:55special video title so it feels targeted, and a button that wants you to file a
- 10:59reply from the account on on this channel.
- 11:02In other words, log into Google and give them your Google info.
- 11:05So this campaign. is already circulating other creators reporting this exact
- 11:09same thing. Do not click submit, check YouTube studio, go to the content of that
- 11:14video. If there's any restrictions, that's where they'll be.
- 11:17If you already clicked and signed in, change the password, which I had not.
- 11:21But I just want to give you guys a heads up and a red flag here.
- 11:24If you if you already clicked and signed in, change the password, which I had
- 11:29not.
- 11:30But I just want to give you guys a heads up and a red flag here.
- 11:32If you already clicked and signed in, change the password, which I had not.
- 11:35There's no spelling errors, there's no grammar errors on here.
- 11:38And it ricked me enough that it made me click the button at the bottom.
- 11:41And I R know better than a lot of people.
- 11:44I haven't worked in IT since Moses was a kid.
- 11:50And I haven't seen a lot of these things and seen a lot of people.
- 11:53It still fooled me enough that I clicked on open the case.
- 11:55But as soon as I saw that it was identify which YouTube channel you're talking
- 11:59about. And if I had clicked on that, it would have given them the rights to my
- 12:02channel. That's how people steal YouTube channels from people, guys.
- 12:07So yeah, nasty, nasty scammers, nasty scammers.
- 12:12Let's jump back in the chat.
- 12:13I want to see who I'd been missing here all this time because that was just
- 12:17wrong and mean. They're a bunch of jerks.
- 12:22Scammers suck.
- 12:24All right, let's see here.
- 12:25I'm scrolling back a ways because you guys been talking quite a bit.
- 12:29All right, let's see here.
- 12:33How's in the house? How's it going, my man?
- 12:36And Jay, the resident dot rev dot executioner is here.
- 12:41How's everybody doing there?
- 12:42Very good. And I see Pearlman dropped in when I was chatting away there,
- 12:47blabbing away. How's it going, my friend?
- 12:49And Dana right behind him, very good.
- 12:51Excellente. I bet it smells like cookies in Glenn's house.
- 12:57Daniel, outdoors with Daniel 19.
- 12:59How's it going, buddy?
- 13:01Daniel, I have quite a question for you.
- 13:02Why did you choose Daniel 19?
- 13:04What did you pick that number for?
- 13:06Outdoors when you changed the name of your channel from whatever it was to
- 13:10outdoors with Daniel 19. Why did you pick that?
- 13:13I'm curious.
- 13:15Inquiring minds want to know.
- 13:18Doo doo doo. And I love how everybody's calling Jenny Wednesday.
- 13:22That's her name now. She wanted to know, are we having water or Mountain Dew?
- 13:30It was the closest thing I had.
- 13:33Let's see here. Daniel says, I'm about to try the persimmon pudding we made on
- 13:37my livestream tonight. You made that with the persimmons off your own tree,
- 13:39right? Very cool.
- 13:43Let's see what else I'm missing.
- 13:45Fred finds out, is in the house hanging out, Mr.
- 13:48Fred.
- 13:49And the producer, shout out, so I'm going to talk a little bit about this, but
- 13:52Fred is going to be hosting a Halloween mystery livestream that is
- 13:58participatory. And if you guys are interested in joining that, jump into my
- 14:02Discord server. There is a link in the video description, but on, I don't know,
- 14:08October 30th, 31st, something like that, he's still trying to work out the
- 14:10details. Fred's going to be hosting a play along, role playing, mystery
- 14:15livestream, interactive, come hang out with me type thing in Discord, Discord.
- 14:20So I think you guys should think about joining that.
- 14:25Let's see here.
- 14:29You guys, I'm so proud of you going live, buddy.
- 14:32You guys, if you don't know, porch piper Tom here did his first ever livestream.
- 14:36I think it was on Monday.
- 14:38And my man, you could never have convinced anybody that that was.
- 14:43His first ever live stream.
- 14:44He's just sitting there at his desk, talking to the folks and talking to the
- 14:48people and playing it cool.
- 14:51Being Mr. Smooth. I wish I was that relaxed for my first ever live.
- 14:55Stream or even my hundredth live stream.
- 15:00So you will, you guys will see him for the, uh, the commenter and encouraged and
- 15:05all that stuff for the week.
- 15:06I think he might have a spot.
- 15:08Let's see. We got Brian's here saying hi to everybody and everybody saying hi to
- 15:14everybody else. And Scott was on our live a week ago.
- 15:17We went nearly two and a half hours and Scott, you helped us get nearly 40
- 15:21commenters, buddy. Wow. Oh my goodness.
- 15:24Yeah. Uh, pops asked me to join him on his live stream at the last minute.
- 15:29And of course I said, yes, we had a good time there, buddy.
- 15:32What. Am I going to spend my $12 and 47 cents on that must have been something
- 15:37that came up in Chrome, right?
- 15:39Let's see here. What did I miss?
- 15:41Let's hit the back button.
- 15:44$12 and 47 cents. Is that what I made recently?
- 15:49Let's see content.
- 15:51I didn't make no $12. Where did you get that from?
- 15:55Where did you see that? Is it something I showed on screen earlier?
- 15:59Like, uh,
- 16:02Mmm. Maybe it was in.
- 16:06That thing.
- 16:09Hmm. Where did I, where did I make $12?
- 16:13I want to make $12.
- 16:16$12.
- 16:18I want my $2. Jenny, what are you talking about?
- 16:22In the last 28 days, I've made $67 on YouTube.
- 16:27Man, I tell you what, man, I'm about to pay the house off with $67 and 62 cents.
- 16:32Unbelievable. The money's just flowing in.
- 16:35Look at that. 5,000 views,
- 16:39242 watch hours. This is in the last 28 days.
- 16:42New, 22 new subscribers. That kind of work.
- 16:45I tell you what, uh, 300, that, that'll earn you $67 and you can pay off the
- 16:50house. Man,
- 16:54outstanding. We're just, we're just rocking it, folks.
- 16:57With a money like this, I could almost quit my job.
- 17:02Do, do, do. Let's see. I don't know what you were talking about with the $12.
- 17:07So Fred's in the lounge of Discord right now.
- 17:11If I, if I tried to bring up Discord right now while live streaming, everything
- 17:15would grind to a halt on this poor old six year old Mac.
- 17:19But I plan to get a new Mac in a month.
- 17:22And, um, I plan to be able to do cool stuff.
- 17:25Once I get to do Mac, I should be able to bring up, uh, video.
- 17:29I should be able to jump into, I should be able to jump in.
- 17:34I'm hoping I'll be able to jump into Discord while I'm live streaming.
- 17:37And then we could get people into the voice chat lounge in Discord and we could
- 17:41actually have several people hanging out without having to do a full Zoom and
- 17:46everything. We'll just go into Discord and do the live.
- 17:49But if I were to bring it up right now, I have a pretty good darn feeling it
- 17:53would either kick me off of the live- stream altogether or at least freeze me.
- 17:59So let's see here. Um,
- 18:03Fred's like, come on in. Discord promise.
- 18:05Come on, everybody. Come on into Discord.
- 18:07We can talk about Scott behind his back.
- 18:11Ben in real life is in the house saying H is for Holla.
- 18:16Y'all.
- 18:17Holla. You know, Ben, I've always thought thought you were a Hollaback girl.
- 18:22Now we know for fact.
- 18:25Yep.
- 18:26Do, do, do. And, uh, Chairman wants to know, Chairman wants to know, wow, you
- 18:32can make that much money, a whole $12.
- 18:34What are you going to do with your newfound wealth?
- 18:38Fred says I usually make the chapters for my live stream.
- 18:40I just have the YouTube AI do it for me.
- 18:43Yeah, I need to do that. I'm not very good at making chapters after the fact,.
- 18:47After I've said and randomly talked about what's going on.
- 18:50Um, but you know, I have been doing that a little bit more recently because, uh,
- 18:55I turned the live stream into a podcast, which I'm going to talk about with you
- 18:58guys in a little bit here.
- 19:00And podcasts support chapters now.
- 19:03Podcasting 2.0 does support chapters.
- 19:06So what I've been doing is getting YouTube chapters and then just copying those
- 19:10over to the live stream. I mean to the podcast so that now I've got chapters in
- 19:14the podcast too, because I'm fancy.
- 19:16I'm fancy like that.
- 19:19Let's see here. What else am I missing in the chat?
- 19:22I don't want to get caught up real quick before we go on to the new stuff.
- 19:25Let's see scammers.
- 19:50I hope you were here already when I started talking about that scam.
- 19:55Um, cause you were talking about it just for a brief moment on your live stream
- 19:59today. Um, hinting that I was going to talk about it again.
- 20:02So I hope you made it here before I started talking about it.
- 20:04But if not. Kind of watch out for them.
- 20:07Jerk balls, man. Scanners.
- 20:09They're the worst.
- 20:11Daniel says, I'm sorry. Daniel says the easy answer is I started my channel in
- 20:142019, but also it couldn't just use outdoors with Daniel.
- 20:18So it made me pick a number and you started your channel in 19.
- 20:22Whenever I see Daniel outdoors with Daniel 19, I think it's like a Bible verse
- 20:27or something like turn to Daniel chapter 19.
- 20:31So, you know, what you should do is see if there's a, see if there's a Daniel 19
- 20:37in there and maybe there's a message in there for you, Daniel.
- 20:39Maybe that's a, maybe that's the Providence.
- 20:44Maybe that's Providence telling you something.
- 20:47Amy says, Hey, the 12 bucks was what you made on last week's live.
- 20:51Did I really? Oh, because of all the, um, oh, because of the, uh, the way that
- 20:56the thing took off, right?
- 20:59Oh, you're right. It sure is.
- 21:01I didn't even see that. Yep.
- 21:03So that live stream took off for some reason.
- 21:06I did the live stream on Wednesday and then Saturday and Sunday, it took off and
- 21:11shot up to 500 something views.
- 21:13And because it's so long and so many watch hours, 55 hours, I made $12 on that
- 21:19live stream. My goodness gravy.
- 21:21Now I got to tell you guys, um, let's be real about this.
- 21:25Several of you guys did, um, super chats and several of you guys bought five
- 21:31memberships for people at a dollar apiece.
- 21:33And when you guys do that, that counts in the, in revenue for the live stream.
- 21:39So if, if two of you, I think two of you guys bought $5 packs
- 21:45of, uh, $1 memberships and gave away five free memberships, that's $10 in
- 21:51revenue for YouTube. They keep $4.
- 21:54I would get six, right? So if three of you did it, I would get 18.
- 22:00So I didn't get 18 bucks. So it must've been two of them.
- 22:03So I think that's where at least most of that money came from right there.
- 22:07So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
- 22:14Um, let us see what else we are missing in the chat.
- 22:19Something important. I'm sure $12 will buy lots of tea.
- 22:23You're right. Exactly. Correct.
- 22:26Yes, Pam, I needed to know.
- 22:27Well, you get, you start, you start talking about a topic and I just don't know
- 22:31what anybody's talking about.
- 22:33Hello there, dog. How's it going?
- 22:35Faith on the water. AKA the river dog.
- 22:39And, uh, good to see you again, my friend.
- 22:43Thanks for the email last week.
- 22:45And, uh, oh my gravy. Look at this.
- 22:48We got a value for value moment.
- 22:50Now I got the bad news. This thing says, sorry, but this sound seems to have
- 22:55gone missing. Where's the sound?
- 22:57What happened to the sound?
- 23:01Seems like we, you know, I should probably be able to fix that.
- 23:04What happened to the music?
- 23:06Let's fix it. Let's open this up.
- 23:09Let's open up. I would show you guys what I'm doing.
- 23:12I could do that. You guys want to see how the Elgato stream deck works real
- 23:16quick. Here we go. Share my entire desktop.
- 23:18There we go. Let's open up the Elgato stream deck.
- 23:22I click on value for value.
- 23:24It should do three actions.
- 23:27It should run that scene. It should play that sound.
- 23:32Why isn't the sound selected?
- 23:34I don't know.
- 23:36But I should be able to just pick it.
- 23:38Let's choose it. Let's go find it.
- 23:40What happened to my sound?
- 23:42I don't know.
- 23:45Livestreams. Sounds.
- 23:47Uh, I think it's this one right here.
- 23:49The Civil War music.
- 23:52And now let's go back up. Let's go back up.
- 23:55Let's close that. Let's go back in there.
- 23:58Let's see what happens. We hit it now.
- 24:01It's working. We fixed it.
- 24:03Ladies and gentlemen, we fixed it.
- 24:06And our friend Mike has got a $1.99.99 super chat.
- 24:11Thank you so much, my friend.
- 24:12I appreciate that very much.
- 24:14You are a good friend and a great supporter.
- 24:21And Ben says, this sounds awesome.
- 24:23I don't know what he's talking about.
- 24:24I think I would totally join.
- 24:25Don't know what he's talking about.
- 24:26But it seems way overstimulating too.
- 24:28I wonder if he's talking about Fred's Halloween party.
- 24:32Maybe that's it.
- 24:34And Gerald, Geraldine wants to know, is light tea cheaper or more expensive?
- 24:38Um,
- 24:40this is diet sweet tea.
- 24:43But it's the same price either way.
- 24:46Pam here says, guys, inflation in these tariff times is unbelievable.
- 24:50A small Dairy Queen ice cream cake is now $47.99.
- 24:56Canadian. It used to be 23.
- 24:59Wow.
- 25:00That is quite a jump. The diesel prices are really up through the roof right
- 25:06now. Um,
- 25:08diesel is six bucks a gallon in the States, unless you're in California, in
- 25:13which case it's over $8. And everything runs on diesel.
- 25:16The over the road truckers.
- 25:18Um,
- 25:20all goes by diesel. The, uh, the generators for the, um, refrigerators all runs
- 25:26on diesel. So everything's going up right now.
- 25:29And that's in a, in great amount tied to, um, the cost of diesel.
- 25:34And unfortunately, I hate to say this, this is really sad, but the, um, the
- 25:39Russo Ukrainian war is starting to impact diesel pricing because a lot of their
- 25:44refineries are getting hit on both sides.
- 25:47So, uh, I think it is going to get a little worse before it gets a little
- 25:52better, but, um, maybe they can work that out.
- 25:56Stop killing everybody. I heard, uh, statistic yesterday was that 25,000 people
- 26:02are dying per month on both sides combined in the Russo Ukrainian war.
- 26:08That's it was 5,000 on both sides a month.
- 26:12And now it's 25,000. You know, only 35,000 people died in the Korean war.
- 26:19And I think, I think 50,000 people died in the Vietnam war, Americans I'm
- 26:24talking about. Um, so they're losing more than a Vietnam war every two
- 26:31months. That's, we lost, I think 400 and something thousand people in World
- 26:37War II.
- 26:39So in two months, they're losing more than 10% of world war.
- 26:44That's just, those numbers don't sound right.
- 26:46There's got to be a problem.
- 26:47I don. Some may write in that.
- 26:50I don't know.
- 26:52Let's see here. So Ben says, like, honestly, it gives me anxiety.
- 26:56I still don't know what he's talking about unless it was a Fred's thing.
- 26:59I don't, I don't know. Jenny says, wow, Pam, Dylan had better eat that cake
- 27:04slowly. Yeah. Well, when a cake costs $47, you only eat it, you know, like one
- 27:10slice at a time. She says, I'm not going to tell Dylan how much it cost.
- 27:16That's a good point. Jay. He might have a heart attack on that one better.
- 27:19Hope he doesn't watch his live stream.
- 27:21You'll be, you'll be ratted out by the live stream.
- 27:25And I see we have some sports ball talk going on in here.
- 27:29We got Mikey, the Vikings.
- 27:31Fan and Ben, the Packers fan battling it out.
- 27:34That's nice.
- 27:36And uh,
- 27:37some Jay's talking about the Browns over the Bucks and all this football talk is
- 27:42going on in the background.
- 27:44You guys continue that all you want.
- 27:48Amy says, I love the way the sweet kitty looks at you when she wants pets.
- 27:53She's, she's decided to lay down over here now and chill.
- 27:56Like, I guess she kind of gave up on me, but she's chilling.
- 27:59All you can see now is her booty.
- 28:02There's her booty.
- 28:05Hey Catherine. How's it going?
- 28:07Glad you made it in here. How are you doing?
- 28:09What is it? Morning time over there.
- 28:11It's got to be early.
- 28:14a Oh, she's probably not in here.
- 28:15I think she received a membership.
- 28:17Looks like, Oh my gravy. Did it happen again?
- 28:20It did. Look at this Glenn man here.
- 28:22Give out five winning the week with Scott.
- 28:24All memberships. Thank you so much.
- 28:27My good buddy. I appreciate that.
- 28:28My man. Thank you. You can get a laser show.
- 28:31So Catherine's not here. In fact, she received a gift membership as did Tyler.
- 28:36How nice. Very wonderful.
- 28:40And Rob Norton got one and our friend, Kim, right?
- 28:44Blonde traveling gypsy. The over road trucker.
- 28:47Speaking of speaking of diesel prices, I believe her name was Kim.
- 28:51I think so. No, was it Kim or Stephanie?
- 28:54She's too Stephanie. Wouldn't she?
- 28:56See, I know a mother and daughter named Kim and Stephanie.
- 29:00And when I associated her in my mind with my friend, Stephanie, I also kind of
- 29:03pictured her mom, Kim. And darn it.
- 29:06If that doesn't mess me up.
- 29:08So and looks like a splorer door.
- 29:09I got one too. Very cool. If you guys get a chance, if those of you who just
- 29:13received one, find your way in here and see the replay.
- 29:16There are some members only videos on the channel that I made.
- 29:20I haven't made one of those in quite a long time, but there.
- 29:22There are some members only videos which are pretty fun.
- 29:25They're kind of behind the scenes stuff when I was making my exploring Florida
- 29:30series. So yeah, she's the kitty cat is saying you are ignoring
- 29:36me. Well, she's ignoring me now.
- 29:38So that's fine.
- 29:42And Glenn is dipping in and dipping out.
- 29:43Thank you, buddy. In and out he goes.
- 29:45Thanks for buying those memberships, man.
- 29:47That was very nice of you.
- 29:48I appreciate that, pal. Mike says, I'm starting to see more and more channels
- 29:52are allowing people with phones to gift memberships.
- 29:54Unfortunately, Scotts isn't set up that way.
- 29:58You can't gift memberships from your phone, huh?
- 30:01Really? That's weird. I'll have to check into that.
- 30:05I didn't know that.
- 30:08Oh, Ben, you were talking about being in the lounge on discord and on the
- 30:12livestream at the same time.
- 30:14Well, you can always go in there.
- 30:15You can always go in there and just listen.
- 30:19You don't have to participate if it's over stimulating.
- 30:21You can just come in and chill, right?
- 30:25Explora Dora is down in Africa?
- 30:27Oh, wow.
- 30:29It's important to know where Dora is in the world, right?
- 30:32She's in Africa. That's cool.
- 30:35Fred says, I have a Ukrainian church near me up in Albany from the early 1900s
- 30:40that I'm going to be checking out soon.
- 30:41That would be very cool. I bet you there, if they have a graveyard,
- 30:47that would be interesting to check out.
- 30:51Somebody told me or I heard recently or saw somewhere the difference between a
- 30:55cemetery and a graveyard is that a graveyard is attached to a church and a
- 31:01cemetery stand alone. Does that sound right?
- 31:03Has anybody else ever heard that before?
- 31:07I don't know. Beats me. I don't know.
- 31:09I think that's true. We are at 248 if you can believe
- 31:16it. Comments already, 249, 250.
- 31:20Comments at 12 thumbs ups, you guys.
- 31:22So that's pretty cool. Jay says, the new 139 video is edited and ready for
- 31:28release. You were editing that earlier today.
- 31:30I think you said, I even used my new mic for the voiceover and different editing
- 31:35techniques. Push it out. We want to see it, bud.
- 31:38Very cool. And Dana says of her husband, Perlman, he is doing the bedtime daddy
- 31:43thing tonight. Oh, that's so nice.
- 31:45That is so nice. Go help the baby.
- 31:49Take the baby to bed.
- 31:53So Brian says, yeah, I think that's right about the cemetery and the graveyard.
- 31:59Okay, so Fred says graveyard and churchyard are interchangeable.
- 32:03That's an easy way to remember it.
- 32:05Graveyard and churchyard are interchangeable.
- 32:07And cemetery is a separate burial ground without a church
- 32:13attached. Very cool. Well, I want to show you guys something cool.
- 32:17Check out what I got. Our friend Old Man Copper,
- 32:23the YouTuber and part of the YouTube pipe community and firefighter.
- 32:28Super cool guy has these challenge coins on his website and I definitely wanted
- 32:34to pick one up. And it's right here in my hot little hand.
- 32:38You can see the picture better on screen.
- 32:40I think probably better than if I tried to show you.
- 32:43But it comes in this nice plastic protective case,
- 32:47and it's quite weighty. It is one of these things that has a little bit of heft
- 32:53to it in your hand.
- 32:56And it's really nice enameled, enameled paint.
- 33:01And it's fun to sort of hold on to it, just kind of fidget with it and just sort
- 33:05of flip it around in your hand a little bit.
- 33:08But man, I am super proud of this thing.
- 33:10It's got this kind of, I would say, caricaturized.
- 33:15If you look at this, if you look at this right here on the,
- 33:20it's like a kind of a caricaturized version of Copper and his face there, as
- 33:26well. These nice sayings on it, it's got, as iron sharpens iron, so
- 33:32one man sharpens another, brotherhood, old man copper, deus meus
- 33:39et omnia, which is Latin for, I believe, only my god or something like
- 33:45that.
- 33:47Made out of brass, two inches, four millimeter stick.
- 33:51Very cool.
- 33:53I am super proud of it. I just wanted to share that with you.
- 33:56I thought you guys would get a real kick out of that and think that was pretty
- 33:59neat.
- 34:02So let's see what else I want to tell you guys about.
- 34:06I do want to talk about podcasting and some of you are here specifically to hear
- 34:10me talk about podcast, podcasting.
- 34:11So why don't we get into that chat right now?
- 34:14Since I got caught up on the chat, the talk, I want to talk to you guys about
- 34:18podcasting and here's the deal.
- 34:21I'm kind of calling this own the feed because you can own your own
- 34:26content and feed basically.
- 34:30And what I mean by that is that those of you who have YouTube channels and
- 34:36especially those of you who do live streams.
- 34:39But even those of you who don't live stream, if you just have a channel where
- 34:43you talk and where the audio stands alone without visuals, CL, this probably
- 34:49excludes you because your channel is very dependent on your artwork.
- 34:53But for people who are making channels that, you know, basically the kind of
- 34:57channels you could drive around listening to in the car, you're already making
- 35:01the kind of content that could be in a podcast.
- 35:06And so it's extremely easy because you're already doing the heavy lifting
- 35:12once by creating your YouTube video or your live stream.
- 35:16And I want to help the entire world start podcasting.
- 35:20I want as many people podcasting as possible.
- 35:24I don't want that just to be a side project that people do that they put on
- 35:29somebody else's platform like YouTube is owned by Google.
- 35:33And we're all putting all our content on Google's platform and they basically
- 35:38own everything. They own the world there.
- 35:40Right. I want it to be a catalog of content that you yourself own and you
- 35:46control. So you're the one who's creating all this audio, all this content, et
- 35:51cetera. And it's important to protect it.
- 35:54Right. You can get out into every podcast app out there.
- 35:58You can be an Apple podcasting, Spotify, iHeartRadio.
- 36:02Your voice and your message will be blasted out everywhere on a feed that you
- 36:08own, that you are responsible for, that nobody can cancel.
- 36:13Podcasts are uncancellable and I'll talk about that.
- 36:17And you don't have to start over from scratch because you've already got the
- 36:20content and the episodes pre created.
- 36:23Right. So think about it like this.
- 36:25This is the analogy that I thought of.
- 36:27YouTube is like renting a store in the mall.
- 36:32And you want to sell your product so you go to the mall and you rent a shop and
- 36:35you can can sell there. But if they don't like you, the mall can kick you out.
- 36:39And if the mall doesn't like what you're selling, they're not going to rent R.S.
- 36:43place and they don't have to.
- 36:45And they can kick you out of the mall.
- 36:47But RSS podcasting, RSS is really simple syndication and that's the way podcasts
- 36:52are managed. It's like having a warehouse building that you personally own where
- 36:57you keep your stuff, your content, your wares.
- 37:02And you own the building. Right.
- 37:04And it's way, way easier than people make it out to seem.
- 37:08Honestly, I don't think anybody needs my help.
- 37:11I think anybody who's smart enough to get a YouTube channel up can figure out
- 37:16podcasting on their own. Ask AI to help you and I will encourage anybody to try
- 37:22to do it on their own. You don't really need me.
- 37:25I'm not necessarily part of the equation.
- 37:28But you've already done the hard part.
- 37:29You've already got the live streams going.
- 37:31Your live streams, your video, it can become a real podcast and it can become
- 37:35episodes with hardly any friction at all.
- 37:38You're not building it from scratch.
- 37:40And that last 1% of the getting across the finish line is where
- 37:46I could be a podcasting coach if you just absolutely can't figure it out on
- 37:51yourself. And I do want to encourage people that if they are interested in
- 37:54learning learning how to do that, I would be happy to be a podcast coach and
- 37:58help people. So let's talk a little bit about how that might work if you were
- 38:03interested in me helping you out with that.
- 38:07By the way, if there was anybody listening to this, or maybe they did a Google
- 38:10search and just came across this live stream and wants to know about it, but
- 38:14they don't have a YouTube channel.
- 38:16They don't have YouTube live streams and videos.
- 38:19You can still figure this out and I can still help anybody that's interested in
- 38:24doing that. So first of all, let's just talk for a second about why I love
- 38:28podcasting. Why I think everybody should be podcasting.
- 38:31Why I think it's important and why it matters, right?
- 38:35So podcasting, if you don't know this, has replaced radio stations as the number
- 38:39one source of spoken word, news, and information.
- 38:44Hardly anybody drives around listening to the radio anymore or listening to the
- 38:47radio in their garage. People are either listening to YouTube channels or
- 38:50Spotify, iHeartRadio, Odyssey,
- 38:55YouTube podcasts, Apple podcasts.
- 38:57And it's super, super simple to get your stuff on there.
- 39:03Podcasting allows anyone who's got a message they want to get out good or bad.
- 39:07That's the important thing about free speech.
- 39:09Free speech protects speech you don't agree with.
- 39:13And whether or not you agree with somebody's message, they have a
- 39:19right to say it, right? Even if you disagree with it.
- 39:22If they have the opposite political opinion of you, if they say stuff that you
- 39:26don't consider appropriate, if they say things that you disagree with, they
- 39:32still have a right to say it, right?
- 39:34As long as they're not hurting somebody.
- 39:35Obviously, things that hurt children does not qualify for free speech.
- 39:41Advocating for violence and encouraging people to be harmed.
- 39:47When you're hurting someone else, that's not free speech.
- 39:49That's incitement. But let's talk about it from the standpoint of unpopular or
- 39:53things you disagree with type stuff.
- 39:56Podcasting allows anyone with their message, good or bad, or misinformation to
- 40:01one person is truth to another person.
- 40:04All of these people have the ability to reach thousands of people and it costs
- 40:08almost nothing.
- 40:11I'll talk about an experiment in a little bit where I was able to get it figured
- 40:15out for $3 a month. I got the price of it down to $3 a month.
- 40:20Now that's the hard way and I'm not encouraging anybody else to go through what
- 40:24I went through to get it to work for $3 a month.
- 40:28But the easy way is like $9.00 a month.
- 40:33And I mean $9.00 a month, that's what, a trip to Starbucks?
- 40:38Think about this way.
- 40:40Seven or eight months worth will buy you a Dairy Queen cake in Canada.
- 40:48So podcasting is one of the last bastions of practical free speech.
- 40:52It's a hedge against a single company deciding that your work no longer belongs.
- 40:58So as you guys know, I'm friends with a lot of folks who are pipe YouTube
- 41:01channels and cigar YouTube channels, the YouTube pipe community, the cigar
- 41:06smoking community. Eventually, one of these days YouTube is going to decide they
- 41:10don't want any tobacco product video channels at all.
- 41:13And they're just going to take them down.
- 41:15They're just going to turn them off.
- 41:17Eventually, their advertisers are going to convince YouTube that the money that
- 41:23they're willing to spend as advertisers is more important than having you as a
- 41:27customer. And there's another thousand different topics that people are
- 41:32interested in that is socially unpopular.
- 41:36Motorcycling, for example, is dangerous.
- 41:40And auto racing is dangerous.
- 41:41And eventually some of that stuff might get whacked, but you can't whack a
- 41:46podcast. A podcast is out on the internet, distributed across the world and
- 41:52unkillable. It's uncancellable.
- 41:56But just one shift in the ad policy for one of these big platforms, right?
- 42:01Where they decide all videos must be safe for kids or no misinformation or
- 42:06whatever the next phrase is.
- 42:08It can wipe your entire catalog out.
- 42:11And the same risk sits on any hosted video service where the terms of service
- 42:16and advertisers outrank the creator.
- 42:20And that's all of us who have a YouTube channel.
- 42:22Podcasting cuts the dependency.
- 42:26And the reason for that is because RSS podcasting is older.
- 42:29I think it was basically codified in 2004.
- 42:33It's simpler. It's less centralized.
- 42:36It's distributed.
- 42:39It's much more unbreakable than posting everything on social platforms.
- 42:45Putting things on Instagram or Facebook or X or YouTube and hoping that they'll
- 42:50leave you alone is not a long-term strategy.
- 42:54You want to control your feed.
- 42:57You want to keep publishing even if an account gets restricted on one platform.
- 43:01Your podcast continues because your archive, it doesn't disappear because some
- 43:07big media giant giant doesn't like your message.
- 43:10I went into depth on this and I don't expect you to read this here because it's
- 43:15quite a lengthy bit. But I did write kind of my white paper, my manifesto on
- 43:19this, on X. So if you go to my X account, winning the week 777, you can read
- 43:25how I kind of went into this topic of podcasting as infrastructure for free
- 43:30speech and independence and the end of the advertiser veto.
- 43:35So let me, I know Jay says $9.
- 43:39That's two gallons of gas here on Florida, man.
- 43:41I know.
- 43:43So yeah, I guess 87, right?
- 43:47So here's my vision of how podcast coaching could work.
- 43:51And this is still a work in progress.
- 43:53I'm still trying to figure out what I might want to do and what I might want to
- 43:57offer. But for those of you who think you might be interested, this is what I
- 44:02come up with so far and subject to better ideas.
- 44:07So I have the concept of a coaching service to help turn your existing talking
- 44:12videos into a real podcast feed with personal Zoom hosted sessions where we
- 44:19would basically share screen and I'd show you what to do and how easy it is to
- 44:24set up.
- 44:26I think probably we could get it done in one, one hour session.
- 44:30But I kind of want to say, let's leave room for a couple of those, maybe, maybe
- 44:35two one hour sessions to get it knocked out.
- 44:38And if there's any follow up questions, stuff like that.
- 44:41But the next step that I want to push is a proof of concept coaching session
- 44:45session. So I'm going to talk to somebody I need basically a volunteer or two
- 44:47who are willing to go through it.
- 44:49And let's just shake the bugs out and iron out the bugs and see if there's
- 44:52anything I'm missing or anything I'm forgetting or anything that I need to
- 44:56figure out that I don't already know how to tell you how to do.
- 45:00Porchpiper Tom was talking about video on podcasting.
- 45:04Just as a side note, I want to answer that question because podcasting is
- 45:07traditionally audio. Always has been MP3 files wrapped up in
- 45:14a nice wrapper. And podcasting does support video files if you want to upload
- 45:19video files as well. The services that I found that basically make it easy to do
- 45:26your podcasting, they're services now that'll handle the encoding, encoding and
- 45:30the RSS syndication side for you.
- 45:33The $9 service that I found is audio only.
- 45:36I did find one that handles video and I think it was $13 a month.
- 45:40So it's still pretty darn cheap.
- 45:42But if you wanted to take your existing YouTube videos and turn those into a
- 45:47video podcast, like you guys know that I think the Joe Rose podcast is on video.
- 45:52A lot of the newer podcasts are on video, but they don't got to be video.
- 45:56Audio works too. But that is an option if that's something you want.
- 45:59So my next step is to get a couple of volunteers to go through a coaching
- 46:05session with me and we'll basically walk through how to create the show, how
- 46:09easy it is to create it, set it up.
- 46:12We get the audio from one of your shows.
- 46:15We extract the audio out of your video.
- 46:17Put it onto a host that you are in charge of and you control.
- 46:21Nobody else can kill it. How to publish it is very simple.
- 46:24It's very similar to YouTube.
- 46:25How to make sure that it gets submitted to Apple and Spotify and i.
- 46:30I heart radio and Odyssey and pod verse and pocket casts and all the other apps
- 46:36in the world that have including YouTube music, by the way, that have all the
- 46:41podcasts in the world. There's something like four.
- 46:45What's the number four million?
- 46:47Well, I'll tell you what I'll tell you.
- 46:49What we can do is we can look right now and see for ourselves.
- 46:51Let's peek and see here. Let's go to the podcast index dot org.
- 46:58And we can see right here, they have 4.7 million podcasts in the index,
- 47:04but shows that published in the last three days, only 76,000 shows that
- 47:10published in the last 10 days.
- 47:23Only 70,000 have published in the last three days.
- 47:26So that's not a lot of competition.
- 47:28When you compare that to YouTube, you know, you're when you think about it, when
- 47:33you guys.
- 47:36What was I going to say? I got myself distracted when you.
- 47:41What was I saying? OK, when you publish your video on YouTube, you're competing
- 47:46with how many videos get uploaded per minute on YouTube.
- 47:50It's like an entire boxcar train
- 47:56full of videos per minute getting uploaded.
- 47:59But the number of podcasts that are out there, if you're willing to upload once
- 48:03or twice a week, you don't have near as much competition out there.
- 48:08And you can talk about your podcast on your YouTube channel.
- 48:11That's another way to go. I'll show you how to add artwork for your podcast
- 48:17and do the show notes and the chapters just like you do on YouTube.
- 48:21So what is the value for having a podcast coach as opposed to just go figure it
- 48:27out yourself? Because trust me, every single person.
- 48:29In this chat can figure it out yourself.
- 48:31You don't need me, but there is a little bit of value, which is I can save you
- 48:34some time. I can help you understand how to put your data
- 48:40onto a podcast hosting system that's not a platform like
- 48:47YouTube or Spotify. I don't recommend anybody just sign up with Spotify or sign
- 48:52up with YouTube podcasts and just start exclusively putting your stuff on their
- 48:56platform because you haven't solved anything.
- 48:59And I guess the big value is being a human that you can ask questions to and you
- 49:04can can get answers right there on your screen.
- 49:06We'll do a screen-sharing session and walk you through it.
- 49:11So what am I thinking about cost?
- 49:13What am I thinking about charging for coaching services?
- 49:15Well, everything in my mind, everything should be value for value.
- 49:20I'm a huge believer of value for value, which is basically the modern bartering
- 49:24system. If you believe you get value, you decide what it's worth and you send
- 49:29that value back. It's the same thing I do with the YouTube channel.
- 49:32I don't take ads from people.
- 49:34I'm just ask
- 49:38people to give back a value that they think they, and it's
- 49:44very much like what Mike and Perlman did here a little while ago.
- 49:49And maybe somebody else since last time I was looking at the chat.
- 49:51I haven't looked at the chat in a minute here.
- 49:53But the same thing with the coaching service.
- 49:56If I provide value to you and show you how to create a podcast, I'm going to ask
- 50:00you to decide what you think it's worth to you.
- 50:03And that sometimes is not always money.
- 50:06I talk about it every single week.
- 50:08Value for value is in the form of time, talent, and treasure.
- 50:13So I know that, for example, Sally was interested in learning how to do this.
- 50:17And Sally does a live stream every single morning all week long.
- 50:21So as an example, Sally might just decide, Scott, I'm going to talk about your
- 50:26podcast coaching service and how it went r me and tell people what happened
- 50:31every day for a month. Maybe that's her value and maybe that's how she returns
- 50:37value to me. And some of you guys may say, you know what, Scott, I got a service
- 50:42where I print t-shirts or stickers or I don't know, whatever you guys do.
- 50:47A lot of this stuff is barter, is just as valuable as dollars, right?
- 50:54So, yeah, the coaching service, just like everything else I do, is going to be
- 50:58value for value. Because listen, I got a day job.
- 51:01I got a regular work job working for a big company in the IT department and I'm
- 51:04perfectly happy there and I don't intend to quit.
- 51:07So I'm not doing this thinking I'm going to get rich.
- 51:11Would it be nice to make enough money to pay off the car payment?
- 51:14Yeah, that'd be pretty sweet.
- 51:15I'm still making payments on my new roof that's three years old and I'd like to
- 51:21get that thing paid off early.
- 51:22So, yeah, it'd be nice if YouTube and podcasting and everything else in the
- 51:25coaching service was able to help me accelerate those things I'm trying to take
- 51:29care of. But it's not like I'm planning on quitting the job any time.
- 51:32I'm going to be working. In fact, I got a video out that says I don't intend to
- 51:36ever retire.
- 51:40retire. So apologies to my retired YouTuber friends who say it's great.
- 51:44I don't intend to ever retire.
- 51:45I can't see myself not working on something.
- 51:48So, yeah, there you go. Jay says for mechanics, just keep them
- 51:54fed in 10 millimeter sockets and you'll have a friend forever.
- 51:58You know, Jay, every time I take my car over to my mechanic here in town, a I
- 52:02come pick up the truck, I bring a box of donuts for the guys in the garage, you
- 52:06know. But bartering is how the world got by for thousands and thousands of
- 52:12years. So for those of you who feel like this coaching service is attracted to
- 52:16you, I guarantee you, you can afford it because you're going to be the one that
- 52:20decides what it's worth to you.
- 52:23You know, I go to I go to a breakfast restaurant on Wednesday mornings.
- 52:27Every Wednesday, me and about nine other guys sit around the table and everybody
- 52:33tips differently. I've noticed that watching these guys over.
- 52:36The years and you know, some people, their tip is bigger than the actual bill
- 52:42that comes in. You know, you get a you get a check at the end of your breakfast
- 52:46is eight or nine dollars. And there's guys that hand the waitress a 20 bucks and
- 52:51say no change. And there's some people that get a check that's 14 or 15 dollars
- 52:56and they throw $3 on the tip.
- 52:59Everybody decides what the service was worth, you know.
- 53:03And I might disagree with what somebody thinks the service was worth.
- 53:06And if I am disagreeing, it's usually I think they paid too little on their tip.
- 53:11I don't ever think anybody over tips.
- 53:13Let's take another simultaneous sip, guys.
- 53:15I think it's about time. I need one.
- 53:21But for those of you who are interested in this coaching idea, I have a feeling
- 53:25that you guys could all come up with a pretty.
- 53:30A pretty easy way to return value for it.
- 53:34And speaking of value for value, let's go crazy because look at this.
- 53:39Oh, my gravy, Dana.
- 53:41Oh, my goodness. Dana did it again.
- 53:45What are you doing, lady? You are so awesome.
- 53:48Dana gifted five winning the week memberships, just like we just said a minute
- 53:53ago. First, it was Glenn and now it's Glenn's beautiful wife, Dana.
- 53:57So let's see who the lucky ones are.
- 54:00As for me, I received a gift membership from Dana the Cookie Mom.
- 54:04Scott mix 606, Renee Glover and Sammy and dead
- 54:10man, Zach. Wow. Thank you so much, Dana.
- 54:14I really, really do appreciate that.
- 54:16And every single time one of you guys throws five dollars out there and buys
- 54:20five memberships. That grows the channel and grows the community.
- 54:24And these people who didn't even know they were subscribed sometimes.
- 54:26Don't even remember subscribing from years ago.
- 54:29We'll get notified and come check out the channel and see what we're talking
- 54:32about in here.
- 54:35So moving on with this conversation, I have some questions for you.
- 54:38I have some very important things I want to know from you about this.
- 54:42Okay, so for the next few questions I want you to think it over and answer me in
- 54:48the chat. And I'm looking at the chat right now so I can see what your replies
- 54:52to this are. Before I do here,
- 54:59just before I do Geraldine is saying is there some kind of reaction count?
- 55:02Just because I like reacting.
- 55:05I don't know what the reaction count would be.
- 55:07I don't know. We have 12 thumbs ups and we have 304 comments in the chat so far.
- 55:11But that's the only count I know.
- 55:13But you can react. You can react all you want.
- 55:17So here's my questions for you folks.
- 55:19Off the bat, those of you who have YouTube channels,
- 55:24what share or percentage of your videos, do you think could be a a standalone,
- 55:30talk only, audio only podcast episode?
- 55:35So it's going to be a different answer for everybody, right?
- 55:38Jay may think that 50%. CL may say 1%.
- 55:43I don't know. Pops might be 90%.
- 55:46I don't know. What is your answer?
- 55:48What percentage, this is for those of you who do have YouTube channels and I
- 55:52understand not everybody has a YouTube channel,I totally understand that.
- 55:56But I am curious, what percentage of your r videos do you estimate, just
- 56:02ballpark, could stand alone as a audio only podcast episode?
- 56:09Brian says 0%. Okay, well that's reasonable.
- 56:13And you know, if your channel is like outdoor walking, stuff like that,
- 56:18like the Traveling Woodcombs, their live streams are them walking out in nature
- 56:24and responding to the chat.
- 56:26So I don't know if they think that that would or would not.
- 56:30I don't know. Fred says close to 0.
- 56:32Jenny says 30%. Geraldine says 90%.
- 56:36Jace is not much.
- 56:38Mike thinks 1%. Richard, see now Richard says very few, but I kind of disagree
- 56:44on Richard here, here. The chairman says very few.
- 56:47However,
- 56:49I don't know, every single video I've watched of yours, you're doing an
- 56:51excellent job explaining things slowly and calmly.
- 56:55So I kind of think the chairman might be higher than very few.
- 57:00I don't know. Beats me.
- 57:04Amy says 10%. Yeah, so it's something to think about.
- 57:08Let's see, here's the next question I have for you.
- 57:10Do you guys keep your original video files, local, on your machine or on an
- 57:15external hard drive or maybe in like Google Drive or some other place?
- 57:21Or is your only copy of the video the one that's on YouTube?
- 57:25Either way works because you can download a preexisting video from YouTube
- 57:30including live streams. You can download them back to yourself.
- 57:33You're the only one who can download your videos right through YouTube.
- 57:37So if you don't keep them, you could just download them.
- 57:42But it's an extra. I'm just kind of curious how many people just kind of curious
- 57:47how many people keep a local copy of their videos versus people who it's all on
- 57:53YouTube. And that's the only place they keep it.
- 57:56Porch Piper says 65 to 70% of his channels videos could be one.
- 58:01Faith on the water, not sure.
- 58:03Well, you do those sermons, right?
- 58:04The idea of you doing a sermon, a church sermon or a preaching sermon from the
- 58:09kayak probably could be a podcast dog.
- 58:17And okay, so Brian says I would never be able to go live where I walk.
- 58:22Phones hardly work there. Okay, that makes perfect sense to me, bud.
- 58:27Jenny says I downloaded my lives and I keep all the videos.
- 58:30Jay keeps everything. Porch Piper says, yep, I download them on my hard drive.
- 58:35Amy says some are on my PC.
- 58:37Very good. CL's using an SSD drive.
- 58:41So am I. Yep. Same thing. I keep them all on SSD drives, keeping everything
- 58:44external. What Brian does.
- 58:46Looks like everybody. Everybody's got a copy.
- 58:49Geraldine has too many copies.
- 58:52Yeah, I do that too, Geraldine.
- 58:54I delete the raw videos that I shoot because that's just so much space used up.
- 58:58Heard Rob the Maritimer saying that he keeps all of his raw videos that he
- 59:03shoots as well as the edited work and the project files and all that.
- 59:08But he has a really nice huge RAID system with multiple hard drives creating a
- 59:12RAID disk array.
- 59:15Re-adundant array of independent disks.
- 59:18Is that what it stands for, RAID?
- 59:21So if you got something like that set up, you can afford to keep every single
- 59:24thing. But I have to delete my raw videos because I just don't have space for
- 59:28it. The only thing I keep is the finished video.
- 59:31I don't even I don't even keep the project files because without the raw videos,
- 59:34doesn't do me any good. So Ben says I want to keep most local, but storage is
- 59:40expensive. Yep. Jay says I might buy an external hard drive.
- 59:43Well, I hate to tell you. Don't look at the price of this external hard drives,
- 59:47man, because these external SSD drives, I used to get them for.
- 59:52I used to get them for a couple hundred bucks for a terabyte.
- 59:55And man, those things are expensive now.
- 59:57The chip prices are so high now because of the AI in the data center.
- 1:00:04Faith on the Water aka the dog says I'm working on live stream while paddling
- 1:00:09down the stream. Yep.
- 1:00:13Walking the next chapter has just posted his 75th video.
- 1:00:16Congratulations,
- 1:00:21man. That's phenomenal. Good work.
- 1:00:22The next question. What's more important?
- 1:00:24Avoiding getting canceled from the platform or just being in podcasting where
- 1:00:30you can be found everywhere.
- 1:00:32So you will reach you will reach at least as many more people podcasting as you
- 1:00:38do on YouTube alone. My experience is that my podcast download numbers
- 1:00:44are always higher than my video views.
- 1:00:47And if you if you talk about your YouTube channel in your podcast, then the
- 1:00:54people who listen to the podcast will hear about your YouTube channel and you'll
- 1:00:57be found you'll be found more, more further and wide.
- 1:01:02And if you talk about your podcast on your YouTube channel, the YouTube audience
- 1:01:05will hear about your podcast.
- 1:01:06But I think that an important important value in podcasting is that if, you
- 1:01:13know, YouTube or whoever Instagram, wherever you put your videos decides they
- 1:01:16don't like your topic anymore, your niche, they can kick you off, but you can't
- 1:01:22get kicked off of podcasting.
- 1:01:24So I'm just curious what's more important to you guys on that one.
- 1:01:30For Jay, it's being found everywhere.
- 1:01:34Yep. Makes sense.
- 1:01:38Jay, you said you've been seeing them on Facebook Marketplace recently.
- 1:01:41What is that? What have you been seeing on Marketplace?
- 1:01:44I missed what you're seeing on Facebook Marketplace.
- 1:01:49CL says, I have my own website.
- 1:01:50If I need to find a different way to get my art out there, that's a very good.
- 1:01:54Yeah, that's very smart. Why don't you drop a link to your website in here, CL,
- 1:02:00since you're the moderator, you have the power to drop links in the chat.
- 1:02:04Why don't you share your website address if that's something you want people to
- 1:02:07see.
- 1:02:09By the way, Jay here wants to know what mic this is.
- 1:02:13I hope it sounds okay. I hope, hope you're asking that because it sounds okay.
- 1:02:16It is not a very expensive one.
- 1:02:19I saw it on YouTube, and its company is called FIFINE.
- 1:02:23F-I-F-F-I-N-E. It's basically a knockoff of the higher end podcasting mics that
- 1:02:29everybody likes. It's a knockoff of the sure.
- 1:02:34What is it? Hold on. Let me see if I can find the darn...
- 1:02:38Where is it? Here we go. FIFINE.
- 1:02:42F-I-F-I-N-E. Foxtrot Indigo.
- 1:02:46Foxtrot Indigo. Nancy Echo.
- 1:02:49FIFINE.
- 1:02:51It's on
- 1:02:53on Amazon for like $50 or less or something like that.
- 1:02:58I think there might be a link.
- 1:02:59There might be an Amazon link in the description of the video for that.
- 1:03:04I think Amazon affiliate link.
- 1:03:09Porchpiper says reaching a wider audience and expanding more than just pipe
- 1:03:13talk. Yep. Very good.
- 1:03:16Thanks Jay. He says the mic does sound good.
- 1:03:18That's good. You know, it's funny.
- 1:03:19When I go back and download this video to make the podcast, I don't think it
- 1:03:24sounds that awesome. I don't think that the video file itself sounds sounds as
- 1:03:30good after the fact as it does when you're listening to it now because I get a
- 1:03:34lot of compliments on the sound of this mic and the sound of the audio.
- 1:03:39But when I download it, I think that they down sample it or something probably
- 1:03:43to save files or something.
- 1:03:45I don't know. Let's take a sip everybody.
- 1:03:47I'm dying of thirst here.
- 1:03:54Getting to be nine o'clock by the way.
- 1:03:57I want to talk to you folks all night long, but sometimes nature and nature
- 1:04:01calls. So one thing thing I was thinking about last week is might make sense at
- 1:04:08some point to do an intermission and everybody can run to the potty and get more
- 1:04:12diet, sweet tea, etc. So maybe that's one thing we'll do in a little while
- 1:04:18is an intermission to make a bathroom break.
- 1:04:22So J says I use a pseudo tack.
- 1:04:25Is. Is that what kind of mic that is?
- 1:04:26A pseudo tack? Cool. Oh, boy.
- 1:04:30Devin just showed up and dropped.
- 1:04:31Oh, boy. Here we go. More value for value.
- 1:04:36Devin has dropped into the house and handed out a boatload, load of
- 1:04:42beautiful memberships. Let's try and see what just happened here.
- 1:04:47My goodness gravy.
- 1:04:50That is a couple. Let's see the 10 10 winning the Greek
- 1:04:56the week memberships from Devin who drops into the house and be writer one on
- 1:05:01YouTube. Also, and be writer one.
- 1:05:04If you don't know is the one who helps.
- 1:05:05He's the he's the brains managing the channel behind the scenes for one blind
- 1:05:11grandpa.
- 1:05:12Very much, Devin. Let's see who got a free membership.
- 1:05:16I see quite a few names. I recognize Mr.
- 1:05:19President received a gift membership travel around Susie be strong like a
- 1:05:25grizzly. We all love grizzly.
- 1:05:28And let's see, T G B V 70.
- 1:05:32And I don't know them. Kevin hamburger dreamlight days ducky Petri Nicole
- 1:05:38and J off grid. I know them very.
- 1:05:41Well, excellent. All these wonderful people received a gift membership by nb
- 1:05:46writer one. This is outstanding.
- 1:05:48Susan high country Australia.
- 1:05:50That was so nice of you. My man.
- 1:05:52I really appreciate that. Thank you so much for dropping in and dropping that
- 1:05:56value for value bomb on everybody.
- 1:05:58Very nice.
- 1:06:00CL says I want to update some of the fonts on my website.
- 1:06:03It's still a work in progress, but she does give us the URL, which as you
- 1:06:08probably would have guessed is CL fantasy waves.
- 1:06:11com Charlie Lima fantasy waves.com.
- 1:06:16Very cool. All right. Let's get back to the podcasting topic.
- 1:06:19Oh, here. Let's let's see what other questions that I have for you.
- 1:06:23No, that was the last question.
- 1:06:25Okay. I just want to give you guys this little disclaimer.
- 1:06:27Hey, Ali. Good to see you.
- 1:06:29Glad see made it. Drop it in here at the last minute.
- 1:06:32Just a quick caveat or a disclaimer or just covering myself.
- 1:06:37I want to remind you guys that this whole podcast coaching thing is still just
- 1:06:41an idea. It's a work in progress.
- 1:06:44I'm not done figuring out how it's going to go.
- 1:06:46I don't know the details yet.
- 1:06:47I don't know exactly how it's going to work.
- 1:06:50The coaching business definitely needs a couple of volunteers that are willing
- 1:06:55to be my guinea pig and let me try to help them initially and see how it goes.
- 1:07:01Right. And
- 1:07:03then I'll really know if that's something that's doable that we can it really
- 1:07:06help if I can really help people with anything or not.
- 1:07:10I hope so. But
- 1:07:12any and all here are subject to change, deletion and do not constitute any kind
- 1:07:18of offer. I just want to say that.
- 1:07:20So nobody gets in their head that I promised I would do something.
- 1:07:24And then if I later say, I'm not going to do that, don't get upset.
- 1:07:28I'm not making any promises to anybody.
- 1:07:33Porch Piper. I had a feeling you'd be the first one to volunteer.
- 1:07:36So consider yourself. Voluntold.
- 1:07:39I will be happy to a get connected with you and we'll figure out if we can get
- 1:07:43you started podcasting sometime later this week or something.
- 1:07:47Or early next week at the very latest.
- 1:07:50By the way, how I spent my Saturday,
- 1:07:54I built this little cheap throwaway website, scottall.org.
- 1:07:59Basically because I stand up a couple things I wanted to see.
- 1:08:03Well, first of all, I thought I needed a site just to throw together.
- 1:08:06If anybody asked about the podcast coaching thing, I might as well put it up
- 1:08:09somewhere where I can point people.
- 1:08:11So it's really easy to say go to scottall.org and learn about it.
- 1:08:14And basically that just kind of goes through the exact same I've just talked out
- 1:08:19with you in person.
- 1:08:22But more importantly,
- 1:08:24I spent all Saturday not making a website because the website's trivial.
- 1:08:29You can make a website in 15 minutes.
- 1:08:32And I made, you know, I'd make the HTML and all that stuff the old fashioned way
- 1:08:36in notepad, but I wanted to do a couple things I
- 1:08:42had not done. And one of them is silly
- 1:08:47kitty. One of them is I wanted to stand up a server from scratch, bare metal
- 1:08:52server and see how cheaply I could stand up a server and run an operating system
- 1:08:57on it myself and hosted somewhere at some cloud server hosting service.
- 1:09:03For bare bones cheap because I was thinking if I wanted to really if I, what if
- 1:09:08I wanted to host a podcast without any kind of podcast hosting service at all,
- 1:09:13like a totally off grid completely bulletproof uncancellable podcast that would
- 1:09:18have to be detached from any of the major podcasting services and there's these
- 1:09:24podcast hosting services. And I said to myself, I said, self,
- 1:09:30you've never completely set up a, a server from scratch in the cloud and I
- 1:09:35wanted to see how cheaply I could do it.
- 1:09:37So for $3 a month, I was able to get a bare-bones server stood
- 1:09:43up and I got root access on this puppy with Ubuntu Linux installed
- 1:09:49on it. And then I had to install a mail server so that I could send and
- 1:09:56receive some email from it and get a tiny little web server with PHP on it so
- 1:10:01that I could set up the website.
- 1:10:03So I spent most of my Saturday last week just kind
- 1:10:08of
- 1:10:19at that company was working at the Unix help desk and they don't really have a
- 1:10:24lot of Unix users anymore, but I graduated from the Unix help desk to the Mac
- 1:10:30help desk and then the Windows help desk and then got moved into support and all
- 1:10:34these engineering people, which is what I've been doing for like the past 20
- 1:10:39years is engineering application support.
- 1:10:42But I never, I never forgot Unix.
- 1:10:46I actually came to the company I'm at now from AT&T and I worked at AT&T the
- 1:10:52phone company and AT&T for many, many years before where I work now and that's
- 1:10:57where I really learned Unix.
- 1:10:59So I'm very, very comfortable in Linux and Unix and Ubuntu and
- 1:11:05all that world command line.
- 1:11:07Everything's command line for me.
- 1:11:09I still like keyboard shortcuts on every application, right?
- 1:11:14Especially video editing for video editing man.
- 1:11:16I got to do everything with a keyboard shortcut and that's just being a Unix
- 1:11:19geek from the old days. So I spent a whole Saturday setting up Ubuntu server and
- 1:11:25then getting a mail server on it.
- 1:11:27And I went to good old GoDaddy and bought a domain name Scottall.org happened to
- 1:11:32be available, grabbed it, pointed it at the server, got mail working, sending
- 1:11:38and receiving and then got a cheapie.
- 1:11:41It's all open source. All the software is free.
- 1:11:43So other than the, the server itself for.
- 1:11:46Everything else is free. The Ubuntu is free.
- 1:11:49The mail server is free. It was a mail in a box.
- 1:11:52I think it was mail in a box, free mail server and free web server.
- 1:11:58There's tons of open source web servers out there and then just built the site
- 1:12:01real simple. It's a simple, it's a simple website.
- 1:12:03But it's got a little form at the bottom where you can say, hey, I want to work
- 1:12:08with you. But essentially I was trying to prove to myself that you can podcast
- 1:12:13for pennies $3 a month. Man, that's super cheap.
- 1:12:16That's basically the price of a gallon of public's diet sweet tea.
- 1:12:21So if you can give up one gallon per month, you can afford to podcast if you
- 1:12:26really, really, really want to go the bare bones cheapest way possible.
- 1:12:30So that was my Saturday and it was super fun.
- 1:12:36And I will also tell you in just a minute about a filming a sitcom.
- 1:12:42That's how I also spent my Saturday.
- 1:12:44We'll talk about that in just a second.
- 1:12:45Let me get back in the chat and see if there's anything else I missed.
- 1:12:49Let's see here.
- 1:12:52Devon, say good morning to everybody.
- 1:12:55Doo, doo, doo. What else? Thank you, Devon.
- 1:12:57I appreciate that man. CL says Susan is awesome.
- 1:13:02Yes, she is.
- 1:13:03And Amy says, bookmarking your website.
- 1:13:07Very cool.
- 1:13:09And Jenny says, Devon, you're such an awesome guy.
- 1:13:13And Ali, I'm so glad you're here.
- 1:13:14Thanks for showing up fishing with Ali G.
- 1:13:17Very nice. And Devon says, I just finished eating.
- 1:13:20I was just out in the field, walking some jobs and telling people to put in
- 1:13:24earplugs. Sorry, I'm late.
- 1:13:26That's funny.
- 1:13:29I'm always telling the guy who's out blowing leaves.
- 1:13:32There's a person in the crowd.
- 1:13:33I think it's like one of the apartment complexes or somebody.
- 1:13:36They're always having a service come out and they got the gas powered two-stroke
- 1:13:41things on their backpack blowing leaves all over the place.
- 1:13:44And they never wear ear protection ever.
- 1:13:47So crazy.
- 1:13:50Devon says, Jenny or AKA Wednesday, as we prefer to call her.
- 1:13:56Faith on the Water says, just you sharing your podcast experience is very
- 1:13:59helpful. Listen, I'm telling you guys, you don't need a coach.
- 1:14:02I'm happy to help and be a coach, but you don't need one.
- 1:14:06Go ask your favorite AI. I want to start a podcast.
- 1:14:09How do I do it? And say, I already got live streams on YouTube.
- 1:14:12How do I get that audio or video into a podcast?
- 1:14:15You'll figure it out, I promise.
- 1:14:16If you're smart enough to have YouTube, you're definitely smart enough to have
- 1:14:19podcasts because being a podcaster is not rocket science.
- 1:14:30You ever heard that saying, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it?
- 1:14:33Well, it is easy and everybody is doing it.
- 1:14:36Geraldine says, I have an old laptop where I did the Ubuntu thing, all very new
- 1:14:40to me trying to learn bio informatics.
- 1:14:43Awesome. That sounds kind of fun.
- 1:14:47Oh, cool. Jay's got a neat story here.
- 1:14:50I worked for Microsoft on the web TV failure.
- 1:14:53They were just ahead of their time, weren't they?
- 1:14:57You know, now we're all watching YouTube and Netflix and everything on our TVs.
- 1:15:04You know, I don't, everybody says that their stats show that more people are
- 1:15:08watching on YouTube on their TV and everybody's stats says that most of their
- 1:15:12viewers are not subscribers.
- 1:15:14I don't, I must be breaking the mold or something because my, stats show that a
- 1:15:18lot of you guys are watching on your phones and on your computers and your
- 1:15:22tablets. And some of you are watching on TV, of course, but not the majority.
- 1:15:26And about half of, about half of y'all are subscribed and half of you are not.
- 1:15:32So, I see Mrs. winning the week is pulling up here and
- 1:15:38when she comes in the door, maybe that would be, maybe that would be a good idea
- 1:15:43to do a, maybe that's when we'll do the intermission and the potty break and I
- 1:15:49can help her bring her bag and her stuff inside.
- 1:15:51Devin, you're right. The, the cost of doing a server is cheaper than a six
- 1:15:56millimeter socket. Yep. Listen, I got the socket.
- 1:15:59I was just being lazy. I didn't want to open up the stupid case.
- 1:16:03So it was easy enough to grab a crescent wrench just to get that stupid thing
- 1:16:07out. It certainly took me long enough to do it though.
- 1:16:10It was kind of painful all you guys who know about tools, watching somebody
- 1:16:15struggle. It's not that I didn't have it.
- 1:16:18I just didn't feel like going across to the other side of the garage, opening up
- 1:16:21the case. All my sockets are inside of a plastic lockup case.
- 1:16:27You know, it's not that easy.
- 1:16:29Well, it's easy, but I was just too lazy to go open the case.
- 1:16:32So I just went to the, I really need to put my sockets in the drawers of the
- 1:16:38tool case. So that I'll go get them when I need them instead of refusing because
- 1:16:42it didn't want to open the case and unlock it and unlatch it.
- 1:16:45So sorry for all of those of you who were watching me with the crescent wrench
- 1:16:51too bad.
- 1:16:53I wanted to use my nut driver, my electronic nut driver.
- 1:16:58That's what she said to do it, but I couldn't find the stupid, couldn't find the
- 1:17:04stupid socket to put in it.
- 1:17:07Let's see. Ben here says, think, big Scott, how about you offer a hosting of
- 1:17:12podcasts, winning the week podcast hosting.
- 1:17:16So offer hosting to others, maybe, but I don't know if if my three dollar server
- 1:17:21can handle the load. I might have to increase that.
- 1:17:24And honestly, I would rather see people independent.
- 1:17:27I'd rather see people standalone independent.
- 1:17:31So I don't want anybody depending on me any more than I want them depending on
- 1:17:35YouTube. You know, not a bad idea if I was doing it capitalist wise, but I'm
- 1:17:40just trying to live life as a value for value helper.
- 1:17:43You know what I mean?
- 1:17:45So Ron has been telling me multiple times this week, I was interested in hearing
- 1:17:49what I had to say about podcasting.
- 1:17:50So Ron, why don't you give me some feedback and tell me what do you think about
- 1:17:55this crazy idea of mine, believe it or not.
- 1:17:58Our friend, Lori is the one who put this wild hair up my butt about podcast
- 1:18:03coaching because she basically could hear the excitement in my voice when I talk
- 1:18:08about podcasting and I talk about free speech and I talk about the last bastion
- 1:18:12and frontier of the Internet.
- 1:18:16And I said, boy, I tell you, you get so fired up about it.
- 1:18:18Why don't you help other people?
- 1:18:20And that's what got me thinking late last week about, boy, I could help other
- 1:18:25people do what I love.
- 1:18:29So let me know. Let me know.
- 1:18:33And Devin says, hey, you want to host my website, Scotty?
- 1:18:36I don't think so. I don't think so.
- 1:18:39But I would be able to help you figure it out.
- 1:18:42It's not hard, man.
- 1:18:44Ron says, I actually watch several Talking Head podcast channels on YouTube.
- 1:18:49Yep, me too, bud.
- 1:18:52If I'm not watching YouTube, I'm listening to podcasts.
- 1:18:55And that's pretty much all I do for entertainment YouTube.
- 1:18:59And I might work my way through a TV series once in a blue moon on a streaming
- 1:19:04service. My wife watches a lot of streaming channels, channels and stuff.
- 1:19:08So I'm the kind of guy that reads a book I've read a thousand times rather than
- 1:19:13pick up a new book. I've got a habit of picking up old books I've already read a
- 1:19:17million times. And I'll go back and watch Battlestar Galactia again or Breaking
- 1:19:22Bad or The Sopranos or something.
- 1:19:24I've already seen five times.
- 1:19:26It's just as happy to go watch reruns of Seinfeld and watch something new.
- 1:19:31So, yeah, podcasts and YouTube, that's all I need.
- 1:19:35That's all I really need.
- 1:19:37Let's see who's hanging out in the chat.
- 1:19:39I want to get caught back up again.
- 1:19:43Porchpiper Tom says, I hate TV.
- 1:19:45That's pretty funny, man. I hear you, bud.
- 1:19:47Brian says, my stats agree with yours.
- 1:19:50Scott walk in the next chapter, chapter said that.
- 1:19:52Ron says, they're coming to grade and pave my driveway tomorrow.
- 1:19:56I plan on doing a live stream.
- 1:19:57It could be hours. Hey, that's great.
- 1:20:00Awesome.
- 1:20:01Everybody, hey, Ron, set up the live stream ahead of time.
- 1:20:04Pre-plan it if you haven't already done that.
- 1:20:06Let's just real quick here, look and see.
- 1:20:10You guys want to see? Why don't we take a peek and see Ron's?
- 1:20:16Where is my button? Here we go, Chrome.
- 1:20:18Let's go see our friend Ron.
- 1:20:22Hey, there's Gracie showing up as a six month value for value member.
- 1:20:26Let's go find Ron's channel and see if he has already scheduled that live a
- 1:20:32stream, guys. I bet you didn't.
- 1:20:35I bet you didn't schedule it yet, did you Ron?
- 1:20:38Did you?
- 1:20:39Nope.
- 1:20:41Schedule this thing ahead of time, buddy.
- 1:20:43Because then we can all click notify me.
- 1:20:45Go in here and set up your pre-planned live stream.
- 1:20:49I know you don't know what time they're going to show up, but you can always set
- 1:20:51it for noon, right? Because then you can go live whenever you want to on a
- 1:20:56regular time.
- 1:20:58At any time, you don't have to go live when you say you're going to go live.
- 1:21:01You just go live when you feel like it, right?
- 1:21:04CL says, hi Mrs. Winning the Week.
- 1:21:06Well, she's not inside yet.
- 1:21:08She hasn't got inside yet, but she'll be here in a minute.
- 1:21:12I should go help her, right?
- 1:21:15All right, we're pretty much caught up.
- 1:21:16Hey, Gracie, GGG, how are you doing, my dear?
- 1:21:19Good to see you. You lucky I grabbed my phone.
- 1:21:22She says, well, listen, we're about to do a little intermission.
- 1:21:24I'm going to help Mrs. Winning the Week get her stuff inside.
- 1:21:27I'm going to step away, refill my drink, maybe go potty.
- 1:21:30I'm going to give you guys about five minutes to go do the same, and I'll see
- 1:21:34you back here in a minute.
- 1:21:36Does that sound good? Five minutes?
- 1:21:38Let's do it. Let's call it a five minute intermission, and we'll be right back.
- 1:21:42Because I got to do the shout outs, and I got to tell you about the sitcom that
- 1:21:45I helped film. I filmed a scene in a sitcom, you guys.
- 1:21:48I'm going to be on TV. I'm going to be a big star.
- 1:21:50I'm going to be a big old star, so we'll talk about that when I get back.
- 1:22:02Oh, the music stopped. Bummer.
- 1:22:05Am I coming back too early?
- 1:22:07How many people are still running to the potty, and I'm missing them real quick
- 1:22:10here.
- 1:22:12What a cool little tune, right?
- 1:22:14I hope you all remember to wash your hands when you finished going potty.
- 1:22:19Let's see here. We missed GGG coming in and leaving, right?
- 1:22:24Let's see here. Let's call it 11 a.m., so she was here for lunchtime.
- 1:22:28Very cool.
- 1:22:30Ron says, I'll set up the live stream in the morning.
- 1:22:33Cool.
- 1:22:35Geraldine, you like my little intermission thing?
- 1:22:37So gave me a chance to get Mrs.
- 1:22:39Winning the Week. Oh, CL Fantasy Wave said to tell you hi.
- 1:22:47Yep,
- 1:22:49CL Fantasy Wave said to tell you hi.
- 1:22:54She says hi back.
- 1:22:56Good night, Ron.
- 1:22:59Let's see here. So Amy says yes, the live stream, the driveway work.
- 1:23:02I did a short about road construction outside my window, and that went huge.
- 1:23:06Awesome. That's very cool.
- 1:23:08Nice.
- 1:23:10Benny says, someday someone needs to explain the in your face thingy to me.
- 1:23:14No, your face needs to have it explained to you.
- 1:23:17That's what I think, but
- 1:23:20let's see. Everybody's saying hi to GGG as she drops in, having herself.
- 1:23:26Allie had a turkey sandwich.
- 1:23:27I had a bacon and turkey and monster.
- 1:23:31Is that how you say it? Monster cheese sandwich today.
- 1:23:34Very good. Very yummy. I made the bacon and I laid the cheese on top of the
- 1:23:38bacon to melty melty and then threw it into some pita bread with some mayo.
- 1:23:43You guys like BLT sandwiches?
- 1:23:45Bacon, lettuce and tomato.
- 1:23:47My friend Wes taught me about BBB sandwiches.
- 1:23:50Bacon, bacon and bacon. That's my favorite.
- 1:23:56Walk in the next chapter says, I need a Nana split.
- 1:24:00So when we do the intermission like that with a little music inter break, when I
- 1:24:05make it into a podcast, I'm going to edit out that audio, just like I cut off
- 1:24:09the pre show. I never include the pre show when I go live 10 minutes or so
- 1:24:14before the live stream and hang out with you folks.
- 1:24:16I cut that off at the beginning of the podcast and I even cut that off the
- 1:24:23beginning of my video. I go in and edit it in YouTube studio and then cut that
- 1:24:27off the beginning and I don't leave that on.
- 1:24:30So that's just our time together, you guys.
- 1:24:33But that little intermission will not make it in.
- 1:24:36It'll be super short. I'll just cut it right out.
- 1:24:39Fred must have been jamming out to that jazz, that smooth jazz tunes.
- 1:24:47So let's see here. What else are we going to tell?
- 1:24:50Okay, so here's how I also spent a Saturday.
- 1:24:59I was asked by someone to be just in a very quick scene.
- 1:25:05This is a AI artist rendition of me in that scene.
- 1:25:12I wasn't quite this messy, but I was pretty darn messy.
- 1:25:15I was in a scene in which I was playing a interviewee for a job, a job
- 1:25:21interviewee. And I was asked to show up.
- 1:25:25The idea is that in the show a character has retired from a company and
- 1:25:31everybody's very sad to see that person leave.
- 1:25:34And now people are applying to replace them at the job.
- 1:25:40And it's basically a montage of really terrible applicants, one after another.
- 1:25:47People coming in say, yes, I identify as a manager.
- 1:25:51Can you tell me how many people will be reporting to me?
- 1:25:54And my character was interviewing for the job while eating a jelly donut and
- 1:25:59making a gigantic mess all over himself and the resume itself and
- 1:26:06my fingers. And they directed me to be licking my fingers and wiping the jelly
- 1:26:12donut on my beard and making a giant mess, which I was happily doing.
- 1:26:16And just taking it over the top while in the interview was really pretty funny.
- 1:26:21And it was the funny part for me was watching the other actors unable to keep
- 1:26:25themselves from laughing as I was just stuffing my face with this jelly donut.
- 1:26:30They had four or five jelly donuts ready to go and multiple clean
- 1:26:36copies of the resume for multiple takes.
- 1:26:39So I think we did four or five takes, something like that.
- 1:26:43And they kept coming up with extra ideas of things for me to say, oh, I'll say
- 1:26:46this and offer the jelly donut to the person who's interviewing you and wave it
- 1:26:51in their face and offer it to this poor lady who's dressed in a nice business
- 1:26:55suit. And I'm waving a jelly donut with my mouth full of it.
- 1:26:58Just here, have a bite. No, you can.
- 1:27:01Where's my manners? You can have a bite.
- 1:27:04So when the when the episode airs, I will look at it and make sure that I didn't
- 1:27:11get cut on the cutting room floor.
- 1:27:13And then I'll share it with you.
- 1:27:16And hopefully we can all get a laugh out of me being a total bore.
- 1:27:22B-O-O-O-R.
- 1:27:25Pretty wild. It was funny.
- 1:27:28We had a good time.
- 1:27:31Let's see. Let's get caught in a chat.
- 1:27:34Walk in the next chapter says, I watched this guy repair old Hi-Fi units to that
- 1:27:39kind of music. That's cool.
- 1:27:41Pepperoni and jalapeno pizzas.
- 1:27:44That's what you're having.
- 1:27:45Yummy.
- 1:27:47Amy says, I like BLC, bacon, lettuce and cheese.
- 1:27:52Very good.
- 1:27:55Let's see here. Amy says that that picture reminds her of Garbage Pail Kids
- 1:28:00blast from the past. Yep. That is what it looked like.
- 1:28:02You're right. It was an AI picture I made.
- 1:28:05I just basically said to the prompt, draw a cartoon character of a guy at a desk
- 1:28:10stuffing his face with jelly donuts.
- 1:28:14But it does. It does look like one of those.
- 1:28:16That's right. It'll be a blast.
- 1:28:18We'll have a good time watching that when it comes out.
- 1:28:21So I just want to remind you guys, if you're having fun here in the chat and
- 1:28:26you're not joining us in Discord, you're missing out.
- 1:28:29We are having a great time in Discord and basically the Discord server is where
- 1:28:33the chat continues when the live stream ends.
- 1:28:37So continue this conversation.
- 1:28:40Jump into Discord. There's a link in the description of this video and this live
- 1:28:44stream. There's a link in every video's description.
- 1:28:49Click on it. Type in what you want your name to be.
- 1:28:51Hopefully you pick something similar to what you are on YouTube.
- 1:28:54So we know who you are. Hop in there and just wait for me to turn on your
- 1:28:58permission so you can see the channels.
- 1:29:00It's free. And we're always having a good time in there.
- 1:29:03As Fred said, he was in the live chat.
- 1:29:05There's a little live chat lounge in there where you can hop in there and just
- 1:29:08talk with each other. And that's a lot of fun.
- 1:29:12I was thinking yesterday about the days when we had one phone in the kitchen and
- 1:29:17my parents had a phone in their bedroom.
- 1:29:18So the only phone I could use was in the kitchen in the whole house.
- 1:29:22And if I wanted to talk to somebody on the other side of the country, I had to
- 1:29:26save my allowance for long distance.
- 1:29:30But now I can hop in into the lounge and talk to Fred on Discord right before a
- 1:29:34live stream just because I'm bored for free.
- 1:29:38What a time to be alive, everybody.
- 1:29:42Yes. Subtle Fred of the Weird Food Reviews.
- 1:29:45Correct.
- 1:29:52No, your face is discordant.
- 1:29:55So let's do our commenter, encourager,
- 1:29:59and what do you call them?
- 1:30:02Commenter, encourager, and winner of the week.
- 1:30:05Will it be you? Wouldn't you love to know?
- 1:30:07But first, before I go into that, if you happen to be one of the more than 100
- 1:30:12people listening to this podcast every week and you'd like to join in with the
- 1:30:16live interactive chat that you hear me cracking up and laughing about, come on
- 1:30:20over to YouTube. Any Wednesday night, 8 p.m.
- 1:30:23Eastern, drop in and find the Winning the Week with Scott Auld YouTube channel.
- 1:30:28Make some new friends. Tell us hello in the chat.
- 1:30:30We're still waiting for the first person to come into the live chat and say, I
- 1:30:34found you on the podcast. It's going to happen in a few days, I promise.
- 1:30:40So the text message of the week came from my friend Andrew over at ACR Protect,
- 1:30:46who you guys have seen him.
- 1:30:47He's dropped into the chat a few times.
- 1:30:49He texted me and said, good morning, sir.
- 1:30:52I just wanted to let you know that your channel has some significant inspiration
- 1:30:55for me today. I got up, knocked out a killer workout, and I'm going to go win
- 1:31:00the dang week. Take care and my best to you, sir.
- 1:31:04So that was extremely encouraging to me..
- 1:31:07Him telling me that I encouraged him was encouraging to me.
- 1:31:10It's so meta. It's like encouragement- ception.
- 1:31:15So Andrew, thank you for the encouraging message to me.
- 1:31:18And I'm glad that that encouraged you, buddy.
- 1:31:22So, as I said to him, we didn't decide we want to win.
- 1:31:26We have decided to win, and nothing's going to stop us.
- 1:31:31The winner of the week is me this week, you guys, because my wife ordered
- 1:31:37some candy from Jeff's Candy Shop, which, if you don't know, is a YouTube
- 1:31:42channel where a gentleman named Jeff in Ohio makes candy on YouTube and shows
- 1:31:48how he does it with regular old, plain old, American ingredients, just sugar and
- 1:31:54salt and flavoring oils and heat and
- 1:32:00caramel and peanuts. And look at this.
- 1:32:07Oh,
- 1:32:08unbelievable good tasting, candied pecans and lemon
- 1:32:14drops, you guys. Listen,
- 1:32:17lemon drops.
- 1:32:18Taste like the 80s. That's the only way I can describe it.
- 1:32:23Look at this. They're like literally randomized-sized chunks of candy because
- 1:32:28they're made in these sheets of drops, and he drops them on the table, and that
- 1:32:33breaks into a million pieces, which is why they're called lemon drops.
- 1:32:37If you didn't know, lemon drops and other kind of drop candies are called that
- 1:32:43because they're made in a little roller, which rolls out the candy and hardens,
- 1:32:48and you drop it on the table, and it breaks open.
- 1:32:50These taste so good. They're just made with the most basic, let's see here,
- 1:32:56sugar, glucose, syrup, citric acid, and lemon oil.
- 1:33:01The lemon oil gives you the smell, the citric acid gives you the tang on your
- 1:33:05taste. The sucrose is basically sugar.
- 1:33:09Heat it up, stir it up, put it out on a table, roll it out, break it up, throw
- 1:33:14it in a tin.
- 1:33:16It's so yummy.
- 1:33:19My wife got some of those hot cinnamon ones there.
- 1:33:22You can see, you remember the taste of red hots in the 80s before they became
- 1:33:28mass-produced factory food?
- 1:33:30That's what it tastes like, you guys.
- 1:33:33I'm the winner.
- 1:33:35Jeffscandyshop.com. Not sponsored, just enjoying a blast from the
- 1:33:41past with good old-fashioned American food made with American ingredients.
- 1:33:47These candied pecans taste like the peanut brittle that I used to get
- 1:33:52at Ocean City. We used to go to Ocean City and they would have saltwater taffy
- 1:33:58and peanut brittle made right there on the beach, right there in front of you.
- 1:34:04Talk about a blast from the past.
- 1:34:05So good, so awesome. Well, the comment of the week is our friend Jenae.
- 1:34:10On my video, this machine forces you to stay angry.
- 1:34:13Life with Gen X values, a.k.a.
- 1:34:17Jenny, a.k.a. Wednesday, a.k.a.
- 1:34:20867-5309. The woman with way more names than anyone needs said, I
- 1:34:27really appreciated this one, Scott.
- 1:34:29I had spent a few hours in bed trying to escape from uncomfortable thoughts and
- 1:34:33feelings. I finally forced myself to snap out of it and watch this and Rob's
- 1:34:39videos and not only got out of bed but had the energy to do my therapy homework
- 1:34:43and record some footage for my next video.
- 1:34:46You should know what a difference your videos can make.
- 1:34:49P.S. loved the multitasking.
- 1:34:52P.P.S. after she read a few of the comments said I had no idea the wrench you
- 1:34:56were using was not the best solution.
- 1:34:58I was impressed with your mechanical skills.
- 1:35:01So that proves that I can fool anyone.
- 1:35:05So yes, Geraldine, she has a lot of names like a Tolkien character.
- 1:35:10Like an elf in the Silmarillion, she has seven names, exactly, except they don't
- 1:35:15all start with the letter F.
- 1:35:18And just as a side note, the second best comment of the week was in Rob's
- 1:35:22livestream when C.L. said, Jen Stutz said for me to stop putting U's in words,
- 1:35:28Scott. Like when I add additional unneeded vowels into characters in the words.
- 1:35:35But, Jenny, I just wanted you to know that your comment here really lifted me up
- 1:36:05and encouraged me at a time when I kind of needed it.
- 1:36:10Sometimes you wonder if your videos I won't have any glitches.
- 1:36:13And he talked a little bit about podcasting.
- 1:36:15And you guys, he was so good at livestreaming.
- 1:36:20It encouraged me that somebody could jump on and just look so natural like he'd
- 1:36:25been livestreaming for 10 years already.
- 1:36:27It looked like it was his thousandth livestream, not his first.
- 1:36:31He just sat there smoking his pipe and sitting at his desk and talking to the
- 1:36:36chat, talking about stuff, talking about the rsops and stuff that his wife makes
- 1:36:41and sells.
- 1:36:43I was encouraged that somebody could be so awesome at something like that.
- 1:36:47So, anyway, congrats, PorchPiperTom.
- 1:36:51You are the encourager of the week.
- 1:36:54And I want to show you the sad movie of the week.
- 1:36:56Do you guys have any guesses?
- 1:36:58What do you think is the sad movie of the week?
- 1:37:01Watched it last night.
- 1:37:04I don't think any of you guys are going to guess.
- 1:37:05You'll never guess.,
- 1:37:07you'll never guess. What was the sad movie of the week?
- 1:37:10Let's see here.
- 1:37:14I see that Amy says I tried to get into Discord with a Gmail address.
- 1:37:18It kept saying the link was expired.
- 1:37:21Oh, let's make sure we get you an updated link.
- 1:37:24I tried to get into Discord.
- 1:37:25The link was expired. Email and then tried to validate it.
- 1:37:28It's expired. Okay, so I will make sure we have a fresh link, Amy, and I'll ping
- 1:37:32you with a good one. I don't know why you get to double post.
- 1:37:35Sometimes that happens. You post something and it does it.
- 1:37:39We'll make sure we get an updated fresh Discord link that works because I'd love
- 1:37:42to get Amy into Discord hanging out with us all the time.
- 1:37:45That would be super cool. Not old yeller.
- 1:37:48Good guess. Uh-uh. Nope.
- 1:37:51Fred wants to know how to win the Jerk of the Week prize.
- 1:37:54Listen, we can arrange that easily.
- 1:37:57All right, guys. I'm going to tell you what the sad movie was.
- 1:38:00I don't think you're going to guess it.
- 1:38:01So I'm not going to make you stay in...
- 1:38:03I'm not going to make you stay in suspense.
- 1:38:09But the hint, that hint is that beautiful 1971 Chevrolet C10 pickup on the cover
- 1:38:15there. And you guys know I love these trucks.
- 1:38:18And no, Geraldine, I've never seen anything from Bollywood in my entire life.
- 1:38:22Definitely not Titan. Nope, not Titanic.
- 1:38:25But the hint is that truck.
- 1:38:28And the answer is...
- 1:38:31Groundhog Day.
- 1:38:32And if you're wondering, how in the world can Groundhog Day possibly be a sad
- 1:38:38movie? Well, in the scene in which Phil steals the groundhog day and goes on
- 1:38:45a police chase and runs away, he does so in a beautiful red 1971
- 1:38:50C10 Chevy pickup. Exactly like the one I want.
- 1:38:55He's got the exact same truck which is behind me on the wall.
- 1:38:58And it's on my phone. It's on my desk, my wallpaper.
- 1:39:01And this is where I start my live stream.
- 1:39:03Look at this beautiful... Oh, I got some chat messages here and it's about to
- 1:39:07rain. But look at that beautiful truck.
- 1:39:10That's the truck that Phil stole and went on his police rampage.
- 1:39:15And wouldn't you know, he drove the darn thing off a cliff.
- 1:39:19And I started crying. And I sat there weeping, weeping into my pillow
- 1:39:25and weeping my big fat head into my big fat pillow as I saw that thing fall off
- 1:39:31the cliff and then explode into a giant fireball.
- 1:39:36But I said, oh, but wait, no, hold on, man, I know, I know.
- 1:39:40It's probably a model. That doesn.t look like a real truck.
- 1:39:43That's probably just a model they threw off the...
- 1:39:46I feel better. Okay, it's probably just a model they threw off.
- 1:39:48You know it was directed by Harold Ramos, right?
- 1:39:51Harold Ramos who played Egon in Ghostbusters.
- 1:39:54He was the director of Groundhog Day.
- 1:39:58But just to make sure, double check, I asked my friend the AI.
- 1:40:25Did the production crew for Groundhog Day
- 1:40:32and the engine and drive train had been removed and that's visible in the
- 1:40:36underside shot. The dummy stuffed groundhog stood in for a live animal.
- 1:40:41But the hero truck scene and the chasing scene was fine and the one sent over
- 1:40:47were sacrificial copies. I said, man, I said that stripped down sacrificial copy
- 1:40:52would look good in my garage.
- 1:40:54I'm sad.
- 1:40:55And the AI said back to me, well, honestly, after the rail launch and the
- 1:40:59fireball, it probably looked more like modern art than a truck.
- 1:41:02Bent frame, no drive train, charred paint, maybe a few extra holes.
- 1:41:06Still, I get it, there's something appealing about a battle-scarred movie relic
- 1:41:10sitting in the garage. R Those early 70 C-10s aren't impossible to find.
- 1:41:16Plenty of similar orange or faded orange ones are still out there if you want
- 1:41:20the look without the actual explosion damage.
- 1:41:23The movie one just had extra character and extra fire.
- 1:41:28So press F in the chat, everybody.
- 1:41:30Press F in the chat for that pour.
- 1:41:34Two of them. Two beautiful C-10s that they drove off the cliff for their takes,
- 1:41:40unbelievably.
- 1:41:44Sadness. Geraldine says, I haven't watched that movie ever.
- 1:41:48CL says, hey, there's that truck.
- 1:41:51Thank you for the condolences, Devin.
- 1:41:53I appreciate it, my friend.
- 1:41:54Thank you so much. CL says, well, Thelma and Louise drew a convertible off a
- 1:42:00cliff. Yes, they did. That's sadness.
- 1:42:02Porch Piper with the crying kitty emoji.
- 1:42:06Fred, you remember Stripes?
- 1:42:07Yep. He was, that's right.
- 1:42:09Harold Ramis was in Stripes.
- 1:42:10Did he direct that as well?
- 1:42:13What's the best quotable line in Stripes?
- 1:42:19Is it razzle dazzle?
- 1:42:24Is it no we're not gay but we are willing to learn?
- 1:42:29Is it lighten up, Francis?
- 1:42:31What's the best line in Stripes?
- 1:42:33That movie is highly, highly quotable.
- 1:42:36Thank you for all the F in the chat, folks.
- 1:42:38I really appreciate it.
- 1:42:40Geraldine, you're not too old to F something in the chat.
- 1:42:44Trust me, you're younger than me.
- 1:42:46And I'll F in the chat if I want to.
- 1:42:48We were F-ing in the chat when I was young.
- 1:42:51Of course, that chat was like,
- 1:42:56what was it? A-old instant messenger or something R.
- 1:43:01Hey, Madden. Hey, FlightQuest, thanks for showing up.
- 1:43:05How's it going?
- 1:43:07FlightQuest says, hey, I just finished a video all day recording and editing
- 1:43:11like one of your paintings.
- 1:43:13It takes time. Yep. Madden, good to see you, my bud.
- 1:43:16How are you doing? How is your day going?
- 1:43:18Very cool.
- 1:43:21Let us jump into, well, we need to get busy with our producer shout outs.
- 1:43:26I don't think we need to talk too much about the latest video.
- 1:43:29Those of you got a chance to watch it.
- 1:43:32If you didn't see it yet, I would encourage you to go watch me remove this air
- 1:43:36dam from the front of the hood of my Jeep.
- 1:43:39But if you didn't get a chance to watch it, I would encourage it because there's
- 1:43:42a side story along with it.
- 1:43:44As Jenny said, I was multitasking.
- 1:43:48Oh, I see FlightQuest. He put K because K is the Polish letter for the letter F.
- 1:43:54I did not know that. Very cool.
- 1:43:57Good to know. So real quick, tip of the day, if you didn't know, obviously
- 1:44:02Geraldine and I come from a mutual Tolkien fan club-oriented understanding.
- 1:44:09Our mutual friend Chad Bornholt has done some research on a part of the Lord of
- 1:44:15the Rings and the supporting documentation and notes that J.R.R.
- 1:44:20Tolkien wrote. So I wanted to just bring to your attention that on the YouTube
- 1:44:25channel called Tolkien Guide, if this is the kind of thing that interests you,
- 1:44:29my friend Chad, now there's two Chads on screen here, but my friend Chad is the
- 1:44:33one on the right, not the other Chad, but the one on the right there.
- 1:44:37And he did a lot of really interesting research.
- 1:44:40He's got this highly informative new information presentation that he brings to
- 1:44:45us straight from J.R.R.'s pen and notes.
- 1:44:49He's given this chat and talk at three different conferences already this year,
- 1:44:54and now it's all collected into a lengthy two and a half hour video on YouTube,
- 1:45:00so take a look at Chad Bornholt new info on the hunt for the ring.
- 1:45:05This is not anything related to the new movie coming out, Hunt for Gollum.
- 1:45:10Don't confuse that up.
- 1:45:12Don't really know anything about the movies.
- 1:45:14But the books, he's got some new information on the Nazgul hunting for the ring,
- 1:45:19and it was really enjoyable, so I just wanted to shout out Chad.
- 1:45:22He did a lot of work, a ton of research, looking through J.R.R.
- 1:45:26Tolkien's actual notes, his notes, and came up with some cool stuff.
- 1:45:30So I wanted to share that with you.
- 1:45:34So let us jump into the last thing of the evening as we creep towards ten o
- 1:45:39'clock here, and it's time for our producer shout outs.
- 1:45:42I want everybody here to remember, please, you're not a consumer.
- 1:45:45Don't listen when the world calls you a consumer.
- 1:45:47You are a producer.
- 1:45:50Supporting the channels with value for value entitles you to a shout out for
- 1:45:54whatever you want, your family business, your own YouTube channel, a favorite
- 1:45:58charity, a new project, anything you want.
- 1:46:01Just let me know in Discord or email what you would like your shout out to be.
- 1:46:06And we're going to do a couple of shout outs., remember, I told some folks
- 1:46:09earlier last week that if you guys had not updated your shout out to me, I'm not
- 1:46:14going to keep doing them because they're starting to get stale.
- 1:46:16I'm saying the same thing over and over, so some of them have been pulled out of
- 1:46:19the list. So let's get through them.
- 1:46:23Just a reminder, like I said, value for R value when I was talking earlier, if
- 1:46:27you don't know what value for value is, I don't take paid ad reads in my videos.
- 1:46:33I turn them down every single week.
- 1:46:36I'm only supported by you.
- 1:46:38So value for value is very simple.
- 1:46:40If you get any benefits from my values, the live stream or the podcast, just
- 1:46:44send that value back in whatever amount feels equal to you.
- 1:46:50And this does not the same thing as working for tips.
- 1:46:53This doesn't mean I'm working for tips.
- 1:46:54These are not tips. This is payment for services received.
- 1:46:59And you repay me with your time, your talent, and your treasure.
- 1:47:04And believe it or not, treasure is the least value of these valuable.
- 1:47:08Time and talent are the most critical.
- 1:47:10Your expertise, your spreading the word, participating in Discord, hanging out
- 1:47:14in the chat, commenting on videos, being here in the live stream.
- 1:47:18That's all time and talent.
- 1:47:20And to me, it's much more important to have you guys here participating and
- 1:47:23being part of the community than, you know, than turning over treasure.
- 1:47:29If you do want to donate financially, I want to point out that I
- 1:47:35have changed where donate.winningtheweek.org points to.
- 1:47:40It was pointing to the Buy Me a Coffee site, but they were taking a 3% and it
- 1:47:46turns out that PayPal is free.
- 1:47:49No fee. So, if you guys have never set up a PayPal.me pointer,
- 1:47:56it's free to do that. If you have a PayPal account, you can search how do I set
- 1:48:00up a PayPal.me and it's basically an easy way for anybody to send you payment or
- 1:48:06donation for any kind of service.
- 1:48:08So donate the winning the week,
- 1:48:11donate.winningtheweek. org now points to my PayPal,
- 1:48:16PayPal.me account. And so money goes straight through and no platform keeps any
- 1:48:21of it. So, that's pretty darn awesome.
- 1:48:25Let's get into the shout outs and I see that Flight Quest says, I'm working
- 1:48:32on a producer shout out video.
- 1:48:33Very short video. We'll send it your way once it's completed.
- 1:48:36All twisted in Photoshop making progress.
- 1:48:38Okay Okay. So, episode 66 last Wednesday.
- 1:48:43These were the producers and the producers are everybody who participates in the
- 1:48:48live chat basically. One blind grandpa winning the week.
- 1:48:51That's me. The chairman. Savvy Bible.
- 1:48:55Mike's Adventure Spark. Simply Debbie Sue.
- 1:48:57Cheddar Boyie. Life with Gen X values.
- 1:48:59Ms. M96. Amy's Cozy Place.
- 1:49:02Lori Soul Circle. Dana, the Cookie Mom.
- 1:49:04CL Fantasy Waves Art Studio.
- 1:49:06Walking the next chapter. Brenda's Podcast.
- 1:49:09Broadcast. Excuse me. Faith on the Water.
- 1:49:12This is Pam. Pearlman 1. Coba's Cat Tales.
- 1:49:15ACR Protect. 4476. Porchpiper.
- 1:49:18Tom. All Things Ron. Old Man.
- 1:49:20Copper 19. NB Rider 1. Hey, it's Ben in real life.
- 1:49:261439315. AK. Army Medic Guy.
- 1:49:29Out Rores with Daniel 19. Pops Wisdom Talk.
- 1:49:32Traveling. Whitcom's Granny.
- 1:49:33Southern Corner. Resident.
- 1:49:34Rev. Se Ruchiner. Quest 40.
- 1:49:38Madden's Vlog. Fred Finds Out.
- 1:49:40and Catherine B. Price. If you wonder why I take the time to read out every
- 1:49:45single one of these, remember YouTube is transcribing every word we say and
- 1:49:49adding it to its AI brain and its algorithm.
- 1:49:53So speaking out each other's channel names into the void here actually has an
- 1:49:59impact that we may not realize.
- 1:50:02Look at everybody who's a YouTube member.
- 1:50:05Can you believe this? Lori has been a YouTube member for 10 months.
- 1:50:10Unbelievably, Allie and Mike have been a YouTube member for 8 months.
- 1:50:16The Traveling Whitcombs and Glenn have been a YouTube member with Mike, the
- 1:50:20aging retiree for 7 months.
- 1:50:23Jenny and GGG for 5 months.
- 1:50:28Dana was a member for 4 months.
- 1:50:30And then Miss M, Optimistic Absurdist, and Peter Iberdowski for 3
- 1:50:36months. Look at the long list of people who've been a member for 2 months and 1
- 1:50:41month. I'm not even going to take the time.
- 1:50:43Incredible. Thank you so much for hanging out with me.
- 1:50:46And if somebody gives you a free membership and you want to stick with it after
- 1:50:49the time runs out, it's only a dollar a month.
- 1:50:52So I think you can probably afford it.
- 1:50:54But let's talk about our executive producers right off the bat.
- 1:50:59Did you know Lori Soul Circle is doing something new?
- 1:51:04She posted this on her school account, S-K-O-O-L.
- 1:51:09If you don't know, school is a place where you can host a classroom style cohort
- 1:51:14and share experiences and education with people.
- 1:51:19Lori wrote, I've been thinking a lot about Lori Soul Circle and what I want this
- 1:51:23space to become. When I first created it, I knew I wanted a place for deeper
- 1:51:27conversations but I never gave it the attention or structure it deserved.
- 1:51:32That's changing. I'm rebuilding this community so it becomes a place we can
- 1:51:36actually use, not just another group.
- 1:51:38We're going to spend more time talking about what we truly want, the beliefs and
- 1:51:42patterns that may be keeping us stuck, where fear or other people's expectations
- 1:51:46have been making decisions for us and how to take our power back and create what
- 1:51:51comes next. We'll start having more interaction here, more soul notes, practical
- 1:51:56tools and prompts, resources in the classroom and regular conversations around
- 1:52:00the things we're all trying to figure out.
- 1:52:02I think this is the most exciting part for me, Lori says, also starting Soul
- 1:52:07Circle Live every other Tuesday at noon Eastern time.
- 1:52:12That'll be in the school community.
- 1:52:14You guys can read the rest of this yourself when you have time, if you want to
- 1:52:17pause and read the rest of it.
- 1:52:20But I am going to leave this one here.
- 1:52:24Real quick, I want to answer walking the next chapter who asked, what was that
- 1:52:28chat logger you mentioned?
- 1:52:30Let me show it to you. Let's bring open my Chrome window here, and I'll go to
- 1:52:35the web browser up at the top.
- 1:52:37My extension is running up here.
- 1:52:39Still running. It says YouTube Live Comment Logger.
- 1:52:42That's the name of it. YouTube Live Comment Logger.
- 1:52:45And I will drop that in the chat so you can copy paste it.
- 1:52:49That is the name of it. And I started it when I went live, and at the end, oh,
- 1:52:55it says stopped. Why does it stop?
- 1:52:58Oh, because I'm not on this page.
- 1:52:59Hold on. Let's go here. There we go.
- 1:53:02Let's go to this page.
- 1:53:04There. It's still going. Still saving 375 comments running.
- 1:53:08I was on the wrong tab there for a second.
- 1:53:10So it's still running. There we go.
- 1:53:11Excellent. It's called YouTube Live Comment Logger.
- 1:53:14You have to be on a tab that's actually got a chat running like this one that
- 1:53:17we're in right now. So that is what it's called.
- 1:53:23So going back to our executive producer CL Fantasy Waves Art Studio is a
- 1:53:29relaxing YouTube channel centered around traditional art creation.
- 1:53:32That's not AR art creation.
- 1:53:34That is real physical media with real physical hands on the media with real
- 1:53:39physical paint brushes and paints and real kitty cats helping out.
- 1:53:44The channel features a soothing atmosphere where CL shows her process often
- 1:53:49accompanied by relaxing music and the help she gets from her cats.
- 1:53:58Life with Gen-X values is focused on the specific life experiences and
- 1:54:02challenges of Generation X.
- 1:54:04Gen-re's themes relevant to this demographic often addressing the unique stress
- 1:54:08faced by those in their fifties and beyond.
- 1:54:12This is a neat one. I told you about this at the beginning of the livestream,
- 1:54:16but I just want to remind you again, if you hadn't caught the beginning, Fred
- 1:54:20finds out is going to be hosting a live Discord event, Murder at Blackthorn
- 1:54:25Manor. It's going to be an interactive murder mystery role-playing game where
- 1:54:30you get to pick a character and play as a character.
- 1:54:34It'll be held inside of Discord in the live chat where there's a voice chat
- 1:54:38group and it'll be live streamed at the same time.
- 1:54:43He's planning on doing it Friday, October 30th.
- 1:54:45He doesn't know the time yet, but that'll be figured out pretty soon.
- 1:54:49He's got five slots for five different characters with five different players,
- 1:54:54so everybody who wants to be part of this, sign up as fast as you can and let
- 1:54:58them know R when you're ready.
- 1:54:59Jump into my Discord. Hop in there.
- 1:55:01I created a separate channel specifically for the Murder at Blackthorn Manor.
- 1:55:06It's going to be a lot of fun.
- 1:55:07He's putting a lot of work into this with dedicated videos and storylines and
- 1:55:12all kinds of really cool stuff.
- 1:55:15Fred's putting a ton of work in this.
- 1:55:16I want to make sure that everybody who wants to be in this gets a chance.
- 1:55:20Join our Discord and hop in there and say, I'm in.
- 1:55:26Fred needs to figure out basically when everybody's free so he can pick a time
- 1:55:30that works for everyone.
- 1:55:34Executive Producer, shout out to Mike the Aging Reaching, who was my guest co
- 1:55:38-host a couple weeks ago. His YouTube channel is dedicated to retirement,
- 1:55:43health, and lifestyle navigation for seniors.
- 1:55:46R the channel focuses on practical financial strategies and personal growth in
- 1:55:51the later stages of life.
- 1:55:54Just a side note, the shop is still running its endless summer sale at shop
- 1:55:59.winningtheweek.org. I picked up one of these t-shirts recently for myself and
- 1:56:04it's very nice. I need to get myself one of those camo hats, though.
- 1:56:07It'd be super cool.
- 1:56:11Executive Producer, Mike AdventureSparks, nice upgrade with the trailer there,
- 1:56:17buddy. Mike's AdventureSparks is a YouTube channel focused on camper adventures.
- 1:56:23The channel documents his lifestyle changes, including transitioning to living
- 1:56:27full time in his camper as he navigates new job opportunities and travel.
- 1:56:33The Traveling Woodcombs YouTube channel features Randon and Ashton and their
- 1:56:38journey together as a couple as they explore various Wisconsin locations.
- 1:56:43Go to the Michigan M26 YouTubers meetup and try and find and meet up with the
- 1:56:49woodcombs. I'd love to see some selfies with the woodcombs from those of you in
- 1:56:55the Midwest.
- 1:56:57Michiganders and Minnesot, Wisconsinites, you got no excuse.
- 1:57:03Go to the Randon M26 YouTubers meetup and say hi to Brandon and Ashton.
- 1:57:10Fishing with Allie G focuses on the joys and techniques of bass fishing, sharing
- 1:57:15her adventures from the bank.
- 1:57:17Her channel blends educational tutorials such as tips on locating fish and using
- 1:57:22various creature baits with exciting on- the-water excursions.
- 1:57:28Pam's Stories for Humans I have got to get caught up on that live stream, the
- 1:57:32walking live stream she did, I think it came out early this morning, right?
- 1:57:36Remind me, maybe it was this morning, might have been yesterday.
- 1:57:38It was long, like an hour, hour.
- 1:57:40I got to go back and watch that thing or listen to it.
- 1:57:42Pam helps viewers slow down, be present, and prioritize real-life relationships
- 1:57:48and experiences over digital consumption.
- 1:57:52Stories for Humans is for those seeking a Randon slower pace and a deeper look
- 1:57:56at the human experience in the AI-heavy world.
- 1:58:00Special mentions, I just want to do a quick shout-outan for some of these
- 1:58:03executive producers, One Blind Grandpa, and Devin, who helps manage that
- 1:58:07channel, the Springboard Voice, Amy's Cozy Place, Catherine's Fabulous Sixties
- 1:58:13and Beyond, Dana, and Glenn, that's Dana the Cookie Mom, and Perlman One.
- 1:58:19Looks like Dana has changed her channel name from Dana the Cookie Mom to just
- 1:58:23Dana, but every single one of these folks hang out with us in Discord and are
- 1:58:29super cool friends, and I just wanted to give a shout-out to them.
- 1:58:33Here is an update from our friend Resident Rev.Secutioner, AKA Jay.
- 1:58:41Resident Rev.Secutioner is where motorcycles, life, and real-world stories
- 1:58:46collide, the projects, problems, victories, failures, and downright questionable
- 1:58:50decisions that happen along the way with a particular love for mule motorcycles,
- 1:58:55unusual machines, and giving forgotten bikes a second chance.
- 1:58:59But this isn't just a motorcycle channel.
- 1:59:03It's about the people, the stories, the struggle, the laughs, and the journey
- 1:59:06behind the machines. From wrenching in the garage to chasing down the next crazy
- 1:59:11project, Reverend Jay keeps it real, unscripted, and unapologetically himself.
- 1:59:17If you've never seen a Jay video, he is a character and a half.
- 1:59:22So welcome to the Rev.Secution nation where it's always gritty before glory.
- 1:59:31GGG GraciellaGracig takes us to explore Melbourne, Australia, focusing on
- 1:59:36interesting and upbeat aspects of life.
- 1:59:40And Perlman1, who we've spoken about a few times here, has practical videos on
- 1:59:44precision shooting, archery reloading, and practical hunting lessons in the
- 1:59:48outdoors. Just a reminder, if you don't tell me an update for your producer
- 1:59:54shout-out, something new and something fresh to talk about, I will be moving you
- 1:59:58to the end of the slide deck and you will go into hiding until I get something
- 2:00:03fresh and new because I don't want to keep reading the same thing for you guys
- 2:00:06all the time. They get stale.
- 2:00:08So let me know in Discord or email if you'd like to be featured in the shout-out
- 2:00:13segment every Wednesday night during the livestreams.
- 2:00:18How about them apples?
- 2:00:21So let's do one last pass.
- 2:00:23Let's do one last pass through the chat and see if anybody else has said
- 2:00:27anything that I need to hear.
- 2:00:31And then I will tell you all good night because it is getting late.
- 2:00:34We have been on for two hours?
- 2:00:36Is that right? Yeah, two hours.
- 2:00:38Not as long as last time.
- 2:00:41Whoo. I don't want to yawn on microphone
- 2:00:47here.
- 2:00:51CL says stale bread does make good French toast.
- 2:00:54That is 100% true. I wonder if I could make French toast out of pita bread.
- 2:00:57b that would be interesting.
- 2:01:00Let's see here. Devin had to go to a meeting.
- 2:01:04He's got to work the night shift.
- 2:01:06CL says have a great time, Devin.
- 2:01:09Everybody's saying good night to Devin.
- 2:01:12And Geraldine said good night to everybody.
- 2:01:16She said nice crew. But everybody knew that she was saying good night, crew.
- 2:01:21Shout-out to Lori.
- 2:01:24And let's see here. This is walk in the next chapter asking me about the YouTube
- 2:01:30live comment logger. A reminder to jump into Discord.
- 2:01:37And Flight Quest says I need to get out and do some bass fishing.
- 2:01:41That would be cool. Yep.
- 2:01:45And he said Flight Quest says I still have a Goldwing Aspencade.
- 2:01:49I b don't know what that is, man.
- 2:01:50But Goldwings aren't cool.
- 2:01:51The only motorcycle with a reverse gear, right?
- 2:01:55Really cool until you try to remove four carburetors.
- 2:01:58Yeah, that's true. Very cool.
- 2:02:00Well, hey, folks. We made it.
- 2:02:01That is the end of the comments.
- 2:02:03And that is the end of getting caught up on the chat.
- 2:02:06And I'm going to call it a night.
- 2:02:07It's late. My tongue is getting twisted.
- 2:02:12Thank you very, very much for hanging out with me so long.
- 2:02:15I appreciate every single one of you.
- 2:02:18Geraldine, from the beginning to the end, you were the first in the chat.
- 2:02:20Still hanging out at the end.
- 2:02:23Fantastic. CL, thank you so much, Jenny.
- 2:02:26Jay, Mike, all of you guys, guys, I appreciate you hanging in so long.
- 2:02:29Flight Quest, thanks for hanging out so late.
- 2:02:31I know it's been a long day for you.
- 2:02:33Hope everybody has an awesome week.
- 2:02:35I got a great idea for my next video.
- 2:02:38I've already started filming a little bit of B-roll for it.
- 2:02:42And I got a pretty cool idea.
- 2:02:44So that'll be out next week.
- 2:02:46And I will see what kind of little snippets I can cut out of this livestream to
- 2:02:50turn in a couple of short videos as well.
- 2:02:53I will see the rest of you guys very soon.
- 2:02:57Hopefully I see a lot of you in Discord.
- 2:02:59Don't forget to go join Discord.
- 2:03:00If you're not there, use the link in the video description.
- 2:03:03I've got to make sure it's not a stale link and that it still works.
- 2:03:07It looks like walking the next chapter just got into Discord.
- 2:03:10Let me fire it up. You know what?
- 2:03:11This is probably going to glitch out on the livestream.
- 2:03:17But it's the end anyway, right?
- 2:03:19Let me jump into Discord. I'll share my screen so you can see Discord.
- 2:03:23There it it is. Let's go where the new people show
- 2:03:30up.
- 2:03:32Let's go to the cool kids table.
- 2:03:35Let's see who made it. Walking Brian.
- 2:03:38Excellent. Here he is. Walking Brian.
- 2:03:40I'm going to add him to the cool kids table.
- 2:03:44And now he can see all of the groups on the left.
- 2:03:47Excellentio. Thanks for joining in there, buddy.
- 2:03:50You can see on the left-hand side, we've got the announcements.
- 2:03:53The cool kids table, which is where all the fun happens, as you can see, all
- 2:03:57these great chats and conversations and et cetera.
- 2:03:59I've got a how-to YouTube sub-channel, which basically is for people who do have
- 2:04:06YouTube channels. It's a great place to go in and talk about the experience of
- 2:04:09being a YouTuber.
- 2:04:12And our YouTube videos. I've got a bot,
- 2:04:16which auto-posts our videos whenever the bot's actually working correctly.
- 2:04:22But it posts our videos when they get posted.
- 2:04:25You can also post your own videos.
- 2:04:26And Walking, by the way, welcome to the Discord channel.
- 2:04:30But if you have a YouTube channel and you'd like to drop a link, drop it in the
- 2:04:34our YouTube videos right down here so we can get a link to your channel.
- 2:04:39And I will add it to the bot so that the bot will start posting your videos when
- 2:04:43they come out, just like it did.
- 2:04:44Fishing with Allie G uploaded a new YouTube video right here.
- 2:04:49Fishing with live worms and bluegill for bass.
- 2:04:52And we've got a lot of other cool little projects over here on the left.
- 2:04:55You can see this one I made for the Murder at Blackthorn Manor game coming up.
- 2:05:00And here's where all the pictures and memes are.
- 2:05:02And here's where the pictures of the food that we're hanging out with are.
- 2:05:06And all kinds of cool stuff.
- 2:05:07So Discord's fun. It's like basically this chat in the livestream continuing on
- 2:05:13and going for a while. Yes, CL, you saw Brian G.
- 2:05:17Johnson, because I have the bot post Brian G's videos in the how-to YouTube
- 2:05:22section. Because I've got it posting Brian's videos.
- 2:05:28And I've got it posting Rob the Maritimer's videos.
- 2:05:30And I got it posting...
- 2:05:34Why am I drawing a blank on his name?
- 2:05:37What's his name you guys? Those of you who are in Discord.
- 2:05:40What is his name?
- 2:05:42Oh my... Kevin Colby. Kevin Colby's videos and Brian G's.
- 2:05:48And sometimes Mike also posts links to other channels as well.
- 2:05:54But I've only got the bot posting those three.
- 2:05:56So that auto-posts whenever there's new one.
- 2:05:58And, you know, YouTube doesn't do a very good job of notifying us when channels
- 2:06:01post videos. But every time CL posts a video, it shows up in Discord.
- 2:06:07And I'll prove it to you. Let's go back to...
- 2:06:11Let's go back to Discord again.
- 2:06:14And take a look at it. And I'll go to the Our YouTube Video section.
- 2:06:20And if I scroll back. Just a little bit.
- 2:06:22You'll see that it posted Jenny's and there's Fred's.
- 2:06:26And there's Springboard's video.
- 2:06:29And then there's this guy.
- 2:06:31And then here's Freddy. And where is the CL video?
- 2:06:35Because I always get notified.
- 2:06:37This is the best way to get notified.
- 2:06:40There we go. CL Fantasy Waves posted this thing right here.
- 2:06:44Naps Sketch Then Paint.
- 2:06:47And I put this channel here where Mike can post other channels that we don't
- 2:06:51know. Because sometimes he likes to post other videos.
- 2:06:55I don't even know who those people are.
- 2:06:57But that's okay. It doesn't matter.
- 2:07:00So that's enough of that. Like I said, it's time to go to bed.
- 2:07:04Everybody's still talking in the chat.
- 2:07:05But I have got to stop talking.
- 2:07:08My mouth is dried out and twisty.
- 2:07:10So thanks for hanging out everybody.
- 2:07:12I will see you guys next time I see you either in a video or a live stream.
- 2:07:17Or I'll probably see you in somebody else's live stream very soon.
- 2:07:20So have a good night. Thanks for hanging out.
- 2:07:23Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
