- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to A Peak Inside Gator Football. Allie Peek here,
- 0:03Speaker 1: joined today by TJ Pittinger from College Football Addiction, Double
- 0:07Speaker 1: Fries No Slaw, and lots of other shows that you
- 0:10Speaker 1: can find on YouTube and all the places that you
- 0:12Speaker 1: listen to your audio. This is presented by PrizePix. TJ,
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm really excited to talk to you kind of from
- 0:20Speaker 1: a national perspective about this Florida Ole Miss game. You know,
- 0:26Speaker 1: what do you think Florida fans know what, what they
- 0:28Speaker 1: think they know about this team? And I know Ole
- 0:30Speaker 1: Miss fans have made their opinions as well, but what
- 0:32Speaker 1: do you think from a national perspective, we actually know
- 0:36Speaker 1: about Florida right now? Like, do you think they're viewed
- 0:39Speaker 1: as a legitimate contender yet? Or is this game kind
- 0:43Speaker 1: of where they have to go out and prove it?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I think maybe not a national contender yet. And like,
- 0:49Speaker 2: don't let the football behind you, like say that I'm
- 0:52Speaker 2: going to bring a lot of bias. Cause I've been,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Florida is one of the most impressive teams from maybe
- 0:56Speaker 2: what their expectations were coming into the year to where
- 0:59Speaker 2: they are right now.
- 1:00Speaker 3: So I don't know about national contender.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I think last week was kind of the step that
- 1:05Speaker 2: Florida took to like, Oh, this is a really good team.
- 1:10Speaker 2: This week is the step they could take to, Oh shoot,
- 1:12Speaker 2: we need to talk about this as this team is
- 1:14Speaker 2: a team that can go out and play with anybody.
- 1:17Speaker 2: If you beat the number four team in the country,
- 1:20Speaker 2: if you take down maybe the most impressive team over
- 1:24Speaker 2: all three games, I know Texas is number one and
- 1:26Speaker 2: has the winning against Ohio state, but Ole Miss beat LSU.
- 1:30Speaker 2: They beat Louisville, who is also a ranked team that
- 1:32Speaker 2: is favored to be in Charlotte for the ACC. Um,
- 1:36Speaker 2: if they go out and beat that Ole Miss team,
- 1:39Speaker 2: that's top five in the country, maybe the second best
- 1:41Speaker 2: team in the country for, from a resume perspective, then
- 1:44Speaker 2: there's no reason that Florida can't compete with anybody on
- 1:46Speaker 2: their schedule. And then, you know, anybody in the country.
- 1:48Speaker 2: So I don't know about national contender yet, but they
- 1:51Speaker 2: can prove that tomorrow.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You talked about LSU beating, or excuse me, Ole Miss
- 1:55Speaker 1: beating LSU last week.
- 1:57Speaker 4: That jumped them to number four.
- 1:59Speaker 1: How much of this game is about Ole Miss proving
- 2:02Speaker 1: that that win wasn't just like an emotional peak, especially
- 2:07Speaker 1: going on the road to Gainesville, you know, seven days later?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we talked about this a lot before
- 2:13Speaker 2: that LSU Ole Miss game was that man, as soon
- 2:19Speaker 2: as Ole Miss gets done with LSU, they have to
- 2:21Speaker 2: go into the swamp, which is maybe the toughest place
- 2:23Speaker 2: to play in the, in the sec LSU fans will
- 2:25Speaker 2: be upset about that. But one of the tougher places
- 2:28Speaker 2: to play in the sec where Florida, when they're not
- 2:30Speaker 2: even good, can beat Texas when they're not even good, can,
- 2:33Speaker 2: can upset teams that are, are more talented or better or,
- 2:37Speaker 2: or whatever, you know, certainly expected to win. And then
- 2:40Speaker 2: the same thing for LSU, they got to go home
- 2:42Speaker 2: and now play a Texas A & M team that
- 2:44Speaker 2: beat their brains in last year when, when the two
- 2:46Speaker 2: teams played each other. So, Um, how they handle that
- 2:50Speaker 2: emotionally is a big deal. Now I'll say this credits
- 2:53Speaker 2: Ole Miss because last year in the playoff, everybody thought, man,
- 2:56Speaker 2: this could be an early exit from the, for them
- 2:59Speaker 2: with all the lane stuff that was going on in
- 3:01Speaker 2: December and in November. And how will they focus and
- 3:04Speaker 2: really lock in and the playoffs and man, they were
- 3:06Speaker 2: one drive away from beating.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Miami and going to the national championship. So I'd say
- 3:10Speaker 3: they did a pretty good job.
- 3:11Speaker 2: And then the same thing last week, how do they
- 3:13Speaker 2: lock in with Lane coming back in and LSU's a
- 3:16Speaker 2: favorite and, you know, he knows what they want to do.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And is Golding really the guy? Well, they did it again.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So I do have some confidence that Ole Miss can
- 3:24Speaker 2: continue to lock in when the football is kicked off,
- 3:27Speaker 2: but it is emotional. Like they are still a lot
- 3:30Speaker 2: younger than you and I. They're still, you know, I
- 3:33Speaker 2: don't know if kids is the right word, but they're
- 3:34Speaker 2: still not fully mature yet. Like It's a lot to
- 3:37Speaker 2: ask you to get back up emotionally over and over
- 3:40Speaker 2: and over again. But, you know, that's what the great
- 3:42Speaker 2: teams do. Somebody has to rise to the occasion and
- 3:45Speaker 2: really play. I don't know about play up, but not
- 3:48Speaker 2: let their emotions get ahead of them. So they've done
- 3:51Speaker 2: a good job of that both last December in the
- 3:53Speaker 2: playoffs and then, you know, last week against LSU, even
- 3:56Speaker 2: really that week one against Louisville, which, you know, didn't
- 3:59Speaker 2: play their best in that game. So I would expect
- 4:01Speaker 2: their emotions to kind of be all over the place.
- 4:03Speaker 3: But again, they've proven over and over again that they
- 4:05Speaker 3: can handle that pretty well.
- 4:07Speaker 1: If Florida were to win this game, they would be
- 4:11Speaker 1: 4-0 with wins at Auburn and over number four, Ole Miss.
- 4:16Speaker 1: How drastically does that change the national conversation around Coach
- 4:21Speaker 1: Summerall and this program?
- 4:24Speaker 4: And what does it say about where Florida's headed?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they're way ahead of schedule. I think everybody was really,
- 4:30Speaker 2: really high on Summerall and thought that he built things
- 4:35Speaker 2: the right way and that he– you know, you have
- 4:38Speaker 2: to get some luck. You have to get some breaks
- 4:40Speaker 2: to go your way. Um, cause we've seen good coaches fail.
- 4:43Speaker 2: We've seen bad coaches do well. You do have to
- 4:46Speaker 2: get some things to go your way, but I think
- 4:47Speaker 2: the national opinion on John Summerall was that he was
- 4:50Speaker 2: a really good coach that if Florida equipped him with
- 4:54Speaker 2: the right resources and a few things kind of break
- 4:56Speaker 2: his way, he'll be set up for a really long-term
- 5:00Speaker 2: success there. I don't think anybody except expected Florida to
- 5:03Speaker 2: be a top 10 team. If they beat Ole Miss
- 5:06Speaker 2: on Saturday, they should be in the top 10. Now,
- 5:09Speaker 2: knowing what the people, keep it kid friendly, the people
- 5:13Speaker 2: that vote in the AP poll will actually do with.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Florida at that point.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I have no clue, but they are absolutely a top
- 5:19Speaker 2: 10 team if they go and beat Ole Miss this weekend.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So to me, it wouldn't be surprising that Florida got
- 5:26Speaker 2: highly ranked under John Summerall. It would be surprising to
- 5:29Speaker 2: me that they got highly ranked under John Summerall four
- 5:31Speaker 2: games into his tenure. And so, yeah, to me, it
- 5:34Speaker 2: would say they're way ahead of schedule as to where
- 5:37Speaker 2: they'll eventually end up.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You know, we've got two quarterbacks in this game that
- 5:42Speaker 1: have very different resumes at this point. You've got Aaron
- 5:45Speaker 1: Philo for Florida. This will be his fourth start as
- 5:48Speaker 1: a Gator, but really only like his fifth or sixth
- 5:50Speaker 1: start of his entire career. And then you've got Trinidad Chambliss,
- 5:54Speaker 1: who may be the single best player in the country.
- 5:58Speaker 1: What does each one have to do Saturday to give
- 6:01Speaker 1: his team the advantage?
- 6:03Speaker 2: The Trinidad side is, you know, we'll see what happens
- 6:07Speaker 2: with Lacey. We've talked about this off air and on
- 6:09Speaker 2: other shows and stuff, shout out state of the state. But, uh,
- 6:13Speaker 2: I mean, you almost want to say like Florida needs to,
- 6:16Speaker 2: you know, make him beat them, but that's kind of
- 6:19Speaker 2: concerning because he can, like they were super one-dimensional Ole
- 6:23Speaker 2: Miss didn't even have 70 yards rushing. I don't think
- 6:24Speaker 2: last week against LSU and Trinidad was just like, yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 2: I'll put on my Superman cape and and beat this team,
- 6:29Speaker 2: which is LSU has got a really, really talented defense.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And so that was no small feat. And he's so,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you know, for Florida, I mean, you need to do
- 6:38Speaker 2: a good job of getting after him. They've done a
- 6:39Speaker 2: good job of, of, you know, getting to the quarterback
- 6:42Speaker 2: and taking, you know, they took Byron Brown down a
- 6:44Speaker 2: ton of what, seven times last week. He's better at
- 6:47Speaker 2: getting out of sacks than, than Brown is he's more evasive.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And so I don't know that they can replicate those
- 6:53Speaker 2: sack numbers. but making him uncomfortable, forcing him in. I mean,
- 6:56Speaker 2: he didn't have a pick last week. You've got to
- 6:58Speaker 2: force him into probably a mistake or two because he's
- 7:01Speaker 2: the best quarterback in college football to me.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Like it's not necessarily close.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I don't know if that translates to him being the
- 7:06Speaker 2: number one pick or anything like that at the next level,
- 7:08Speaker 2: but he's really freaking good.
- 7:10Speaker 3: And so anything they can do, even if it's.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Just the crowd, we talk about how good Gator fans
- 7:15Speaker 2: are at selling out and being loud and what this
- 7:17Speaker 2: game will mean to that fan base. Even if it's
- 7:20Speaker 2: just the crowd putting them in a little bit more
- 7:21Speaker 2: of a difficult situation on a, on a first and
- 7:23Speaker 2: 15 or making a third and four, a third and
- 7:26Speaker 2: nine to where they are somewhat limited in what they
- 7:28Speaker 2: can do. Again, I think Ole Miss is one of
- 7:31Speaker 2: the few teams in the country that when they are
- 7:33Speaker 2: one dimensional, they probably get a little bit better because
- 7:36Speaker 2: of how good he is. But still like, are you
- 7:38Speaker 2: asking him them to be one dimensional and win 12 games? Well,
- 7:41Speaker 2: you're hoping that maybe this is the one where he
- 7:43Speaker 2: slips up on the other side of the ball. I
- 7:45Speaker 2: don't know.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Don't change anything.
- 7:46Speaker 2: If you're Aaron file, like everything that he has done
- 7:49Speaker 2: so far this year has been great. He's probably better
- 7:51Speaker 2: than any of us imagined. And he, you know, we,
- 7:55Speaker 2: we were thinking like, man, if he's just a game manager,
- 7:56Speaker 2: they'll be fine. Cause there's so much talent everywhere else. No,
- 7:59Speaker 2: he he's going out and performing. And you know, the
- 8:01Speaker 2: big question was, could he go on the road and
- 8:03Speaker 2: do it at Auburn, um, against the DJ led, uh,
- 8:06Speaker 2: DJ Durkin led defense. And he passed out with flying colors. If,
- 8:09Speaker 2: if you happen to get Singleton back this week, if
- 8:11Speaker 2: Vernell Brown, you know, doesn't come down with the flu
- 8:13Speaker 2: or something weird, like, yeah, all the talent's going to
- 8:15Speaker 2: be there. He's got the best running game in the league.
- 8:17Speaker 2: The offensive line has probably been better than anybody expected to.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So Philo, I mean, the answer is don't change anything.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Everything you're doing is working. It's not, you know, it,
- 8:26Speaker 2: I don't think he's going to be like, oh man,
- 8:28Speaker 2: this moment's too big. I, you know, he hasn't started,
- 8:31Speaker 2: but played in big games. Like he, he knows, uh,
- 8:33Speaker 2: What the moment is he's, he's been, you know, played,
- 8:36Speaker 2: played in Athens or, you know, was on the team
- 8:38Speaker 2: when Georgia tech played at Athens and that eight overtime thriller.
- 8:41Speaker 2: So he's kind of been there, even though he hasn't
- 8:43Speaker 2: been on the field as much, but I think every
- 8:45Speaker 2: question got answered when he went on the road and
- 8:47Speaker 2: performed well at Auburn. So I don't really worry about
- 8:49Speaker 2: that too much from him.
- 8:50Speaker 3: So I don't know.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I think we, we have a very different quarterback battle,
- 8:54Speaker 2: but a really fun one.
- 8:55Speaker 1: All right, I want to get into some of these
- 8:57Speaker 1: position battles, but before we do, I want to take
- 8:59Speaker 1: a minute and I want to play a game that
- 9:01Speaker 1: we play around here a lot, more or less. We're
- 9:04Speaker 1: going to play it with some of the guys that
- 9:06Speaker 1: are going to be in this Florida Ole Miss battle. Okay, TJ,
- 9:10Speaker 1: I want to know, more or less for Trinidad Chambliss, 287.5
- 9:13Speaker 1: yards passing.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I'm taking the more like I do. I, if that
- 9:21Speaker 2: wouldn't be good for Florida, but like this guy threw
- 9:22Speaker 2: for like three 60 last week, I, I think Florida
- 9:25Speaker 2: secondary is probably where I have the biggest worry for
- 9:28Speaker 2: the Gators this weekend until he proves otherwise I'll take,
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'll take anything under 300 for him.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I'll take the more. So yeah, he goes over.
- 9:35Speaker 4: All right.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Jaden Baugh more or less than 118.5 yards rushing.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah. Same token LSU ran for a ton of yards
- 9:43Speaker 3: last week.
- 9:44Speaker 2: This is like, does Florida, uh, pass, you know, pass
- 9:47Speaker 2: the ball or not pass the ball around, but like,
- 9:49Speaker 2: just let other people have more touches because if Jaden
- 9:53Speaker 2: ball gets enough touches, he'll, he'll crush this number. Uh,
- 9:56Speaker 2: Ole Miss leads in broken tackles. So does Jaden ball.
- 9:59Speaker 2: That's a bad batch up. I think he runs for
- 10:01Speaker 2: a ton of yards.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Give me the more.
- 10:03Speaker 4: All right.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Jaden Bob more or less than one and a half
- 10:06Speaker 1: rushing touchdowns.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So this one is hard to me, like, because how
- 10:12Speaker 2: does he get, you know, this is a lot more
- 10:14Speaker 2: luck than the first two, I think, because you know,
- 10:18Speaker 2: he's going to get one rushing touchdown. but if you
- 10:21Speaker 2: don't have a play that maybe gets tackled down at
- 10:23Speaker 2: the five or you know like does he get that
- 10:25Speaker 2: second one which i think is a lot tougher my
- 10:28Speaker 2: gut says more but this feels like a trap so
- 10:31Speaker 2: i'm gonna go less but it's not because ball has
- 10:34Speaker 2: a bad i mean he still has a great day
- 10:35Speaker 2: i'm just gonna say that maybe philo runs one in
- 10:38Speaker 2: because omis is keen on that or maybe they don't
- 10:40Speaker 2: have a ton of plays inside the five because they
- 10:42Speaker 2: have more explosive with that wide receiver so i'll go
- 10:45Speaker 2: i'll go less but I don't know.
- 10:47Speaker 3: It's a trap either way. I'd probably just avoid this
- 10:48Speaker 3: in real life.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 10:51Speaker 2: All right.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Deuce Alexander, more or less than five and a half receptions?
- 10:55Speaker 3: I think more.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I mean, if Trinidad's going for 300-ish, if I'm going
- 10:59Speaker 2: over 287, I'll go more on that. Florida could spend
- 11:04Speaker 2: a little more attention there. They could focus there a
- 11:06Speaker 2: little bit more. LSU, I mean, Ray's going to probably
- 11:10Speaker 2: get his too. So these are tough, but I'll go
- 11:13Speaker 2: more on five and a half.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Okay, this one's a difficult one, I think. Bailey Stockton,
- 11:18Speaker 1: more or less than two and a half receptions.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think what you're counting on here is hopefully
- 11:24Speaker 2: Singleton doesn't play if you're taking the more on this
- 11:26Speaker 2: one because I think you're probably hoping that Ole Miss
- 11:33Speaker 2: really keys on Florida's main targets. Well, how do you
- 11:36Speaker 2: really key on three different guys, which kind of opens
- 11:40Speaker 2: things up for Stockton? I'll probably go less here and
- 11:44Speaker 2: just kind of say that like Vernell and Dallas and,
- 11:47Speaker 2: and singles interview plays kind of go off. They're going
- 11:49Speaker 2: to run the ball a lot. I can see Florida
- 11:51Speaker 2: trying to shorten the game, but two and a half
- 11:53Speaker 2: is a really low number.
- 11:54Speaker 3: So again, that kind of feels like a trip. I'll
- 11:56Speaker 3: go less, but that's, that's a difficult one.
- 11:58Speaker 4: All right.
- 11:59Speaker 1: More or less than 236.5 yards passing for Aaron Philo.
- 12:00Speaker 4: I'll go more.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Because I do think this is kind of a, I
- 12:10Speaker 2: think Ole Miss is going to try their very best
- 12:12Speaker 2: to say Jaden Baugh is not going to beat us.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And I think Philo is very capable of beating them
- 12:18Speaker 2: with the talent they've got out at wide out. But
- 12:21Speaker 2: I think if I'm Ole Miss, I'm not letting Jaden
- 12:23Speaker 2: Baugh beat me. Like I'm hoping that Philo has a
- 12:26Speaker 2: bad game against the top five team. And so I'm
- 12:29Speaker 2: really keying on the run. And so I'll go more
- 12:31Speaker 2: for Philo's passing yards because I think that's how Ole
- 12:34Speaker 2: Miss wants to try to dictate terms.
- 12:36Speaker 1: All right, last one, and this won't count if he
- 12:38Speaker 1: doesn't play, but Kiwan Lacy, more or less than 61.5
- 12:43Speaker 1: rushing yards.
- 12:45Speaker 2: So if he does play, then you're wondering how banged
- 12:48Speaker 2: up he is. He had 43 against LSU, but he
- 12:51Speaker 2: did go out early. So if he was to play
- 12:53Speaker 2: the full game, I would lean more.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You're wondering how effective he is because.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Do they use him kind of as a decoy like
- 13:01Speaker 2: Miami used Malachi Toney a couple of weeks ago?
- 13:03Speaker 3: So I could see a less play here.
- 13:06Speaker 2: But if he's playing, I'll take him more than the 61.5.
- 13:10Speaker 3: But I don't know. He might not even play and
- 13:12Speaker 3: Trinidad just goes off.
- 13:14Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Well, we shall see.
- 13:15Speaker 1: We appreciate PrizePix for all their support. Don't forget, guys,

- 13:23Speaker 4: It's HMA.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It's right there on the screen for you. And if
- 13:25Speaker 1: you win, you'll get $ 150 in lineups instantly. Thank you
- 13:29Speaker 1: to PrizePix. Okay, TJ, let's get back to our questions here.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I know I've kept you for a little bit, but.
- 13:35Speaker 4: This is so intriguing to me.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Jaden Baugh has gone over 100 yards in every game
- 13:39Speaker 1: and already has rushed for eight touchdowns. If you are
- 13:43Speaker 1: Ole Miss, is stopping Baugh priority number one, or do
- 13:47Speaker 1: you almost have to accept some rushing production just so
- 13:51Speaker 1: you can make sure Florida doesn't beat you with explosive plays.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Off of it?
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 2: A little bit of both kind of, I think it's you, you,
- 14:00Speaker 2: it is pick your poison with this offense because they're
- 14:03Speaker 2: so good on, on both things. And again, if you
- 14:06Speaker 2: were hoping for Florida to not just be more one
- 14:10Speaker 2: dimensional on offense, because we knew about the skill talent,
- 14:12Speaker 2: but maybe.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Maybe the offensive line wouldn't give Philo enough time.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Maybe Philo would, you know, kind of shy away from
- 14:17Speaker 2: the bright light to not be as good as he's been,
- 14:20Speaker 2: then I think that'd be a really easy answer of like, yeah, man,
- 14:22Speaker 2: just shut down ball and, and, and roll with whatever
- 14:24Speaker 2: Philo does. That's really tough with like three five-star level
- 14:28Speaker 2: wide receivers potentially in this lineup for Florida. So I
- 14:32Speaker 2: think it is a little bit of both. If I'm
- 14:34Speaker 2: Ole Miss, like the focus is, it is on gang
- 14:37Speaker 2: tackling and wrapping up and trying to keep things in
- 14:40Speaker 2: front of you, like almost being okay with if, if
- 14:43Speaker 2: they can nickel, if Florida can nickel and dime you for,
- 14:46Speaker 2: four or five yards of carry all night, but you
- 14:48Speaker 2: are tackling better than they have all season from the
- 14:52Speaker 2: Ole miss side, then you kind of just live with that.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And you say like, look, if you, if you can
- 14:56Speaker 2: wear us down, just running it, then that's fine. will
- 14:59Speaker 2: be more efficient on our side, but yeah, it is
- 15:02Speaker 2: pick your poison with how good Philo's been and how
- 15:04Speaker 2: good the, the, the weapons that he has are.
- 15:08Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean, but yeah, you also at.
- 15:09Speaker 2: The same time, if we look up at the end
- 15:11Speaker 2: of the night and Jaden ball has 150 rushing yards,
- 15:13Speaker 2: like I don't think Ole Miss is winning this game.
- 15:15Speaker 2: So it's a, it's a really delicate tightrope that P going,
- 15:18Speaker 2: who is a really good mind has to figure out
- 15:21Speaker 2: this weekend. But I honestly, to, to win this game
- 15:25Speaker 2: against Florida's offense, you kind of have to do both.
- 15:28Speaker 1: So Florida has been favored in betting markets despite Ole
- 15:32Speaker 1: Miss being ranked number four and Florida's 21. What does
- 15:35Speaker 1: that tell you about how this matchup is being viewed
- 15:38Speaker 1: compared to how the polls view these two teams?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, yeah, obviously the Swamp plays a huge factor.
- 15:45Speaker 2: If this was at Ole Miss, you're probably looking at
- 15:48Speaker 2: them minus three or more. So that's a huge factor
- 15:51Speaker 2: to me is, you know, what the, what the crowd
- 15:54Speaker 2: can do and what going.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Into an environment like, like that looks like.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I don't try to think really quickly, like where else did,
- 16:02Speaker 2: where did Ole Miss play last year that, excuse me,
- 16:05Speaker 2: that would compare to the swamp. Well, they didn't go
- 16:07Speaker 2: to Baton Rouge. So I know that's not it. They
- 16:09Speaker 2: did go to, I think they went to Athens. So
- 16:11Speaker 2: that was a big one that they played in. They
- 16:14Speaker 2: weren't super sharp in the second half. They went to Oklahoma.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I'm looking at here again, not a bad place, but not, not,
- 16:21Speaker 3: not terrible. I think that's it.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I don't think they played another road atmosphere like this. So, yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 2: they haven't played at a place like this. And so
- 16:31Speaker 2: I think that is certainly impacted. I also think just
- 16:34Speaker 2: the matchups like we talked about, like where is Florida's
- 16:37Speaker 2: biggest concern in this game? It's the secondary. And where's
- 16:41Speaker 2: Ole Miss's biggest concern? It's tackling and wrapping up. Well,
- 16:44Speaker 2: for both sides, if your concern is secondary and Trinidad
- 16:48Speaker 2: Chambliss is coming through, that ain't great news. And if
- 16:51Speaker 2: your concern is tackling and Jaden boss coming through, that
- 16:53Speaker 2: ain't great news. So to me, it's very even from
- 16:56Speaker 2: that perspective. I probably like Florida skill players a little
- 17:00Speaker 2: bit better. Obviously I like Ole Miss's quarterback better and
- 17:03Speaker 2: that's no shot at Philo, but I think even Florida
- 17:05Speaker 2: fans would admit that defenses both have their holes, their
- 17:08Speaker 2: question marks. You're playing on the road. Like I think
- 17:11Speaker 2: Vegas tells you it's an even matchup. And I think
- 17:14Speaker 2: Florida is a little under ranked right now. I'd probably
- 17:16Speaker 2: have them closer to like 15th right now, Um, I
- 17:19Speaker 2: don't want to put too much weight into the Auburn
- 17:23Speaker 2: game because I think Auburn at best is probably like
- 17:25Speaker 2: a six and six ish type seat year. Um, but yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 2: I think Florida from a talent perspective is, you know,
- 17:32Speaker 2: kind of on par with Ole Miss. The question that
- 17:34Speaker 2: we'll have is, does the running game work better for
- 17:37Speaker 2: Florida or is the passing game work better for Ole Miss?
- 17:40Speaker 2: All right.
- 17:40Speaker 1: One last question before I make you make a pick
- 17:43Speaker 1: and then we get out of here, take the Florida
- 17:46Speaker 1: and Ole Miss logos off the helmets.
- 17:47Speaker 4: For a second.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Just evaluate the resumes and the football teams. What do
- 17:54Speaker 1: you think Saturday will tell us about each team that
- 17:57Speaker 1: we still don't know after the first three weeks of
- 18:00Speaker 1: the season?
- 18:01Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think Ole Miss has the, I
- 18:04Speaker 2: think what's really tough is when you think about resumes,
- 18:07Speaker 2: what is more impressive? Texas beating the number one team
- 18:10Speaker 2: in the country or Ole Miss doing it against two
- 18:14Speaker 2: really good ranked opponents, like a top 10 team in
- 18:16Speaker 2: LSU or and top 15-ish, 20-ish team in Louisville. So
- 18:23Speaker 2: there's an argument that what Ole Miss has done is
- 18:25Speaker 2: more impressive, especially when you consider all the off field.
- 18:28Speaker 2: That's not to take anything away from Texas beating Ohio State.
- 18:32Speaker 2: So resume-wise, Ole Miss is more impressive to me so far.
- 18:37Speaker 2: But talent-wise, again, if you strip the logos off and
- 18:40Speaker 2: you just are looking at what these two teams have
- 18:44Speaker 2: on the field. I mean, Florida is more talented than
- 18:48Speaker 2: Ole Miss in certain spots. I probably would lean Florida's linebackers.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I'd probably lean, I'd definitely lean Florida's running backs. Even
- 18:58Speaker 2: if Lacey is healthy, I would probably, I would certainly
- 19:00Speaker 2: lean Florida's wide receivers and talent on that end. There
- 19:04Speaker 2: are some places I really like where Ole Miss is too.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Obviously quarterback, I probably like their secondary a bit more.
- 19:09Speaker 2: So overall, like, again, I think from this matchup, you're, you're,
- 19:13Speaker 2: you're very even from that perspective, but a win for Florida, again,
- 19:19Speaker 2: kind of to go back to the very beginning validates
- 19:22Speaker 2: that they do belong in the national conversation. No fan
- 19:25Speaker 2: wants to hear this, you know, 24 to 28 hours
- 19:28Speaker 2: before the game, but even a close loss kind of
- 19:31Speaker 2: validates that they're in that conversation for Ole Miss. It's, Hey,
- 19:34Speaker 2: you got up for the LSU game. You got up
- 19:37Speaker 2: for The game against Louisville, which was a challenge, but
- 19:41Speaker 2: you found a way.
- 19:41Speaker 3: To win late.
- 19:43Speaker 2: If you go do it again, and again, we would
- 19:46Speaker 2: still be having the same argument because if Texas goes
- 19:48Speaker 2: on the road and beats Tennessee and Knoxville, then that's
- 19:50Speaker 2: really impressive too. But yeah, for Ole Miss, I mean,
- 19:53Speaker 2: you're clearly a top two team in this country. Like
- 19:56Speaker 2: if Ole Miss wins this game on Saturday in the swamp,
- 19:59Speaker 2: there's no doubt in my mind that they're at least
- 20:01Speaker 2: top two. And if Tennessee can find a way to
- 20:03Speaker 2: upset Texas, then they're easily the best team or the
- 20:05Speaker 2: most impressive team in the country through the first month.
- 20:08Speaker 2: So for both teams, I think there's a lot at
- 20:10Speaker 2: stake and it is kind of a, kind of the
- 20:13Speaker 2: same way that Florida Auburn was a litmus test of
- 20:15Speaker 2: like first year head coaches.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Well, Florida passed that test. Can they now pass the
- 20:19Speaker 2: test of like, yeah, we're actually relevant on a national stage.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Cause I think I said this earlier, but like if
- 20:24Speaker 2: Florida beats Ole Miss, there's nobody in this country that
- 20:26Speaker 2: they can't compete with. I'm not going to say they're
- 20:28Speaker 2: going 12 and O where they're beating everybody, but they'll,
- 20:31Speaker 2: they'll be in every game. They'll compete with everybody in
- 20:32Speaker 2: the nation. All right.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Give me your score prediction.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I don't remember what I said when we did this
- 20:38Speaker 2: earlier in the week on a different show, but I,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I am super high on Florida. I just think Trinidad's
- 20:44Speaker 2: the best player in the sport right now. And so
- 20:46Speaker 2: I think this comes down to a late drive and
- 20:49Speaker 2: he has shown way too often that he finishes late drives.
- 20:53Speaker 3: They come back at a, at a great rate.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I think if they'd had the ball last against Miami,
- 20:58Speaker 2: they were probably playing in the national championship.
- 21:00Speaker 3: So I'll lean Ole Miss.
- 21:02Speaker 2: This wouldn't shock me at all if it goes the
- 21:03Speaker 2: other way, but I'll say Ole Miss is 34, 31.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I think it's high scoring. I think it's a lot
- 21:08Speaker 2: of fun. I think Florida looks really, really good. And
- 21:10Speaker 2: Ole Miss just has the better quarterback and gets the
- 21:12Speaker 2: ball last.
- 21:13Speaker 3: And so they come out with it on top.
- 21:15Speaker 4: All right.
- 21:15Speaker 1: He is TJ Pittinger, college football addiction, double fries, no slaw,
- 21:20Speaker 1: lots of other places. TJ, tell everybody where they can
- 21:23Speaker 1: argue with you on social media this weekend and follow
- 21:26Speaker 1: along with your work.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I am going to the Tennessee game this weekend.
- 21:31Speaker 2: So I will not read anyone's tweets saying I was
- 21:34Speaker 2: wrong when, when Florida, when Florida pulls this upset and
- 21:41Speaker 2: everybody's like, see, you're an idiot. Uh, you know, then
- 21:43Speaker 2: I'll make sure, uh, TJ underscore Pittenger and then yeah,
- 21:47Speaker 2: college football addiction on, on here. And then Allie and
- 21:49Speaker 2: I do a show, um, state of the state, which
- 21:51Speaker 2: is a lot of fun, Florida, Florida state, Miami. And
