- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football freeze, Chad Jensen and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome in everybody.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_03]: It is the mile high huddle podcast.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your host Chad Jensen with me.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_03]: My fellow football priest.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_03]: You know him.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_03]: You love him.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_03]: He is Zach Kelberman and Zach Monday night.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_03]: We were basically repeating ourselves going around in circles.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_03]: Why haven't the Broncos done something maybe they could be working on a big move.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_03]: and then cup boom, Tuesday morning.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: And it was, it was nice that it happened right before kelvinman's corner.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: So that's dope.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_03]: But Tuesday morning yesterday, the Broncos, it goes through the trade.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_03]: They're your choir, Jalen Waddle.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get into what they gave up and all that stuff.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_03]: But first thing is first, I know Nick and Carl got the first swing out of because they were on Tuesday nights.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of news happens in the NFL on Tuesdays.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: For whatever reason, exact, your gut reaction
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: See this mile on my face that whole time you were talking, that smile has not left my face since I heard of the trade yesterday and some of the members saw me on KK give my quick gut reaction to the trade.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was over the mood.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still over the moon.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the Broncos overpaid.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a fair deal.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love how Jalen Wattel kind of acquitted himself today and is an introductory press conference.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: Very team first player and
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: excited to be in Denver.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: I love the aggressiveness the Bronco showed by swinging for the fences and not swinging to hit a double with another lower tier receiver.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: I am still so happy Chad and it made all of the waiting worth it in an instant.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_03]: It really did and he's exactly
- 1:49[SPEAKER_03]: the fit, the Broncos are looking for, not just in terms of what he brings to the field and what they were lacking in that receiver cause act, but his mentality, his football character, IQ, all that stuff from a culture perspective, oh boy, is he going to fit well with the Denver Broncos, and I think everybody, like us,
- 2:10[SPEAKER_03]: is super excited to see what Sean Peyton and Davis Webb have in store, but you know, when the trade went through after I was done kind of going, okay, so that's what all this quiet, you know, stuff was about the first thought for me, Zach was I bet Boneyx is over the moon right now.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: and he deserves it man like he gave everything and I've talked about this extensively over the course of the last couple weeks, so it's ad nauseam at this point, but Bonyx got him to the AFC title game.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: He would have got him to the Super Bowl.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: He might have won them the Super Bowl.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: He broke his ankle in the process.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: He was throwing two like backup jack types.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: The least the Broncos could have done was go out and get a jail in water.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: And like you, I'm just so happy for Bonyx that he has his true number one now.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you think about it.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, man, after the cowboys, pardon me, franchise tag, George Pickins, there just wasn't that clear tier one receiver guide to go after.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_03]: There's still some talent there.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_03]: Some guys that you could maybe argue would represent an upgrade of some sort.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_03]: But imagine if the Broncos, imagine it like this, that Jalen Waddle is a free agent.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_03]: And the Broncos outcompete everybody in land, jail and water.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: We'd be through, I mean, just like, but they didn't have to compete with anyone except the dolphins for whatever that offer was they were looking for.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_03]: And it turns out, Zach, all those rumors where there's smoke, there was fire, last fall, the Broncos were in on jail and water, but pump the brakes.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: Thank the football gods.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: There's a new regime in Miami and they're looking to burn it down so they can rebuild it and whatever image they've gotten their heads and now jail and water is a Broncos.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and like if they went to trade route, they it was a better option than signing a free agent, you're 100% right about that, but there was one trade target
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's the game breaker in Cortland Sun's the possession guy.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: He gets to be the ideal wide receiver too now.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Again, this is just an excellent move by the Broncos.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_03]: And apparently, I think it was Diana Rucini.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: Others might have piled on to what I'm about to say on the inside of reporting, but she said the Broncos were never interested in AJ Brown for what it's worth.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_03]: That's coming from Rucini and look, I agree with you like,
- 4:32[SPEAKER_03]: Brown would have basically given you another Portland Sutton.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: A slightly younger Portland Sutton and that could have helped in the sense that teams wouldn't have been able to just so easily sell out to double-team Court and all that.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_03]: It would have made them have to be a little bit more honest in how they approach it, but
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: Jalen Waddle, not only does he do that, Zach, but he does so, so much more, four, three speed, that short area burst in explosion.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he just looks different out there, right?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_03]: From a speed perspective, like, there's this one play.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_03]: If you guys go to my ex account at chat engines, and it might be on Zach, I'm not sure, but
- 5:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's a little clip up of kind of his career highlights and there's this one playsack against the Falcons easy to spot because the Falcons are in their all black jersey uniform and dude he just takes a little screen on the left hand not a screen is land on the left hand side just kind of like dt in that T bow Steelers were just cuts across the entire field only there was more than just one db to be he just outran everybody and you could just see the separation and it's like this dude's different.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he can do things that the Broncos haven't had it receiver.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe since D.T.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: or a manual Sanders, he's so dynamic with the ball in his hands.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, the short area quickness, the breakaway speed.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: There's also a popular highlight where he's just winning a contested catch battle in the end zone, despite a pass on her fear.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's penalty.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: He can do it all.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's a true number one receiver.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why I don't think Shadow 1 and a 3 is too much for him.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a fair deal.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_03]: I do too, and, you know, they also essentially Zach traded, they moved up in the fourth round.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_03]: They swapped fourths, right?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_03]: They swapped fourths.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, Zach, are you seeing this Tyson Anderson move?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: No, who's Tyson Anderson here?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_03]: This is the Tyson Anderson, a safety to the Broncos.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, former bangles, according to Yani Trejil, jealous of CBS Cincinnati.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_03]: Anderson is adding one year deal with the Broncos.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: No, the Broncos are actually signing someone.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: They're actually signing it outside free agent.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I'm not sure.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_03]: We got a, oh, here it is.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_03]: Let me try and get the pull this up.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Parker Gabriel says they do not have an agreement.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_03]: Who's this anti-true jealous sports anchor reporter CBS hits an ad he's saying that it's done.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll keep an eye on that.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_03]: We'll keep an eye on that.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_03]: But for now, let's see what the chat, what everyone's having to say tonight, however everyone's feeling storm blessed in the house.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_03]: It's so good to see it.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_03]: And do just appreciate how awesome you are and how supportive and just engage with MHH.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_03]: you've been big dog.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you for being a member and supporting on super chat.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_03]: He says, even in priests, boy isn't it funny?
- 7:31[SPEAKER_03]: What one trade can do for a fan base after a week of not signing anyone.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, I'm pumped.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: Are there any other signings you see happening before the draft?
- 7:40[SPEAKER_03]: Ash tag brought Denver Broncos for life.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_03]: Man, Zach, there are several other
- 7:49[SPEAKER_03]: that that that I expect to see now that's a different that's a different answer what what are your thoughts for storm blessed.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: I want to echo everything you said there number one storm thank you for your continued contributions and your generosity we really appreciate it.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: Number two there's players that I want the blockers to sign but I don't think they are going to sign them number one as at last check I think David a joke who's still available.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to have him and the tight end core splitting snaps maybe with
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Cam Jordan defensive end from the Saints.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: I saw comment mentioned him as well.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: He knows Sean Peyton.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: There's a few free agents out there still, but I do.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love though Chad.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was premature even to that.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: They couldn't even let me have that one outside signing.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: Not yet anywhere.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_03]: I know, but we'll see dude, Zach just hit on all of them.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, we talked about this Monday night, the report I want to say Zach came from Luca Evans that the Broncos had caps on the positions and what they're willing to pay and spend this season to not only bring back their own guys, but really just at the position.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_03]: And I guess too, we got a factor in.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: the contract of Jalen Waddle and the good news is kind of like the Russell Wilson contract where the Broncos sign up to an extension five year.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_03]: But by the time, well basically they released him before he even played a single snap of that extension and yet upon signing part of the terms of the deal was he got the big signing bonus and X amount of it guaranteed, right?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: So all that money, it gets actually paid out upfront with the signing bonus and then the
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: can like defer that over time, right?
- 9:25[SPEAKER_03]: And that's where Capits come into play.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: In the instance of Jalen Waddle, they extended him Zach in 2024.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_03]: The dolphins did.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_03]: And so he got a nice little signing bonus, little guaranteed money.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_03]: They're moving on from him with 26 some odd million dead.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_03]: On the cap, the actual cap number, Zack, he's only on the books for like 5 million bucks this season.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_03]: So that's another savvy thing, although there is a little bit of gray area over the cap, kind of broke it down.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_03]: I'll find that article and we can kind of go through it.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_03]: But he seems pretty financially reasonable, especially the next couple of years for a receiver who could be as impactful as he is.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's definitely a steal for twenty twenty six, about five million dollars, as you said, the Broncos are going to be on the hook for and for a number one guy that is literally pennies on the dollar.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: But I do believe Chad, unless they've restructured or something I have and understood correctly, his cap number and twenty twenty seven skyrock is select twenty four or twenty seven million dollars, something untenable that the Broncos just can't pay or receive her.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if they're going to do a new deal with him or restructure or whatever, but I don't think you can go into next season on his current deal with how it's structured.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it might be something they they take a look at.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_03]: We shall see, but storm bless brother.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_03]: Great to see you.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks again, Big Dog, pop a bear jumping in.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_03]: Awesome to have one of the legendary mythical Mount Rushmore Superstars every single night.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_03]: Here he is and good evening Broncos country with the hashtag god bless
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: love it, dude.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_03]: And yes, let's go both for sure.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's psyched right now.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, we very much need the God bless the USA thing right now.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_03]: That is for sure, Papa Bear.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the reminder.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_03]: We also got DJ Capo legendary superstar, dear members saying, this is what I was saying that we need speed.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_03]: This is it.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: That's for sure.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: unofficial for three.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't run a 40's
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you've just if he's also a guy that if you watch him play, he looks faster than maybe the numbers indicate with the ball in his hands chat, he can get away from you and a hiccup and a blink and he could take it to the house.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's the beauty of having a jail and water and like it like Capo saying there's the one element from the Brock was offense they were missing because I guess you had it in Marvin Mims and you had it in Troy Franklin, but Franklin's not a number one and Marvin Mims is not a full-time receiver.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Jalen Wattell is both of those things, excuse me.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it, DJ Ted and Taylor.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_03]: We're getting to you guys here in just a second.

- 13:44[SPEAKER_03]: We got, uh, thanks for being patient, boys.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_03]: We got Ted, one to look in the house, a dear friend.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_03]: We've got to hang out with Ted and his old man a couple of times at the meet and greets a dear member.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_03]: Saying Broncos, we're scaring me for a bit there.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_03]: I know it was like we were all on crazy pills, right?
- 13:59[SPEAKER_03]: And then,
- 14:00[SPEAKER_03]: You have that one, Zach, those, you know, that vocal minority of folks in Broncos country after the Jade and Waterdale trade was done.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, see, I told you, everybody was just overreacting and freaking out.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, well, no, there's a reason why we use the word Zach unprecedented.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_03]: No one had ever seen anything like it before.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's very rare and still to this very moment, the Broncos are the only NFL team that has not made an outside free agent signing, but thank the football guys once again.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_03]: Jalen Wattles of Bronco.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, they were scaring me for a bit there.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_03]: He says we're on track for two plus Zack.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_03]: I told you so rants during the season, but now we're not.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_03]: This is easily an A plus move.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: MHH for live Broncos country.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_03]: Let's Wattles.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thank you so much, Ted, for that.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: And it would have given me no pleasure to go on those, I told you so, Rans.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want the Broncos to run it back 100% with the cast of characters.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: They had in 2025 because that cast wasn't good enough as we saw in the postseason.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: They had to make this move.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought, I know I was conspiratorial.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: I posit it all these scenarios as to why the Broncos were being inactive.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: But ultimately, Occam's Razor, the most logical,
- 15:16[SPEAKER_03]: solution or scenario was the brocos were working on something in the background and sure enough they were and uh yeah a plus move thank you Ted I mean that's what we said we're like man the only explanation is something's coming down the pike what it is how it takes shape who it is we don't know yet but they gotta be working on something because
- 15:35[SPEAKER_03]: We can't all be taking crazy pills here.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_03]: And it turns out we weren't Ted.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: Love you big dog.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: We got Taylor Christians in the house.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_03]: Another dear member.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_03]: Rockin' his bow next jersey in the profile pic saying, what do you think of our new safety?
- 15:50[SPEAKER_03]: I love water.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_03]: So again,
- 15:52[SPEAKER_03]: There are reports from a local Cincinnati guy that the the Broncos have signed a new safety But according to Zach I haven't seen this myself.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'll let you tell it, but Local saying that hasn't happened yet
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: So someone very well connected and reputable.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: He goes, multiple sources say the Broncos do not have an agreement to sign safety Tyson Anderson as has been reported, not impossible.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: Safety depth and special teams is a knee Denver generally speaking, but one source that a deal between the sides is nowhere close carry on and close.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, and it would make sense, though.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_03]: Taylor, if the Broncos were targeting a safety, because they did lose PJ Locke, but you got to wonder, all right, they've been so careful about their comp pick formula, depending on what kind of contract this dude would get, which I can't imagine would be anything close to what PJ Locke would.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_03]: Which was basically what Zach, one year, five million and change from the Cowboys.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_03]: So, it might not be a consideration
- 17:00[SPEAKER_03]: But it sounds like to me, if they do get this don't or at least the thought is bringing in some death, pardon me, a guy that can do special teams because I think their plans act for that third safety, at least for now is Dev and Key, and we'll see what they do in the draft.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Taylor.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know much about Anderson.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's is that Tyson Anderson.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the safety.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know much about him.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: He was a core special teamer and Cincinnati apparently a lot of bangles fans do not want to lose him, but he wouldn't be a starter for the Broncos at all.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, they have Brandon Jones and who found other fine at safety, but like Chad said, they need a third safety after losing PJ Locke and that might be Anderson here.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: I was reading the original report that you linked in the private chat chat and the reporters said that Anderson confirmed the signing to them.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Anderson jumped the gun.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's not official yet, but it could get done.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: I would assume maybe if they still have interest in the next couple of days.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: So just for what it's worth real quick, and then we'll move on to Doc James here.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: But Anderson is a 26 year old safety.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_03]: He's a 22 fifth round pick of the bangles played at Toledo.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: And yes, special teams, guys, just under six foot two, pardon me 209.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: Wow, Zach ran a four, three, six, 40.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's that's impressive.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so we'll see what happens, but Broncos also Zach, look, they're going to continue.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure using Dev and Key on special team season all pro for a reason set the new franchise record for special teams tackles in a season.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: And then they also have another very
- 18:38[SPEAKER_03]: productive and prolific safety that plays on specials in skinner right so skinners also very good but you need a little bit more depth there at the position regardless that with P.J.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_03]: Lockdown so it would make some sense but we're getting some mixed signals on the Tyson Anderson front currently.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they have needs throughout the roster.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: It was never just running back tight in receiver.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they could use a lineback or still despite bringing back a single 10 in strinad.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: They can use cornerback depth.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: They can use safety depth and they make this move.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: It would fit with their roster construction plan.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: I would not hate it.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: Not at all, not at all, Taylor, good to see you pal.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_03]: We got Doc James E in the house.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_03]: Another deer member and longtime superstar.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_03]: Great to see you, buddy.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_03]: And he says, boy, what a big, huge splash for our Denver Broncos.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: Glad we talked to everyone down off the ledge chairs.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: And that is one thing that I hope people took away from our streams, Zach, our podcast, and our conversations we've had is that, yeah, we were scratching our heads right along with everybody else as to,
- 19:41[SPEAKER_03]: why this is going on and what the heck could be happening.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_03]: But again, wasn't running to the cliff or saying, hey, hang in there, even if they don't do anything, very good team that they're returning, and they still have the draft, right?
- 19:55[SPEAKER_03]: But.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: at the same time we're going, man, trying to wrap our brains around this, that was the plan.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_03]: That was the vision and apparently, according to reporting that the conversations obviously dated back to the fall ahead of the trade deadline, but this new regime in Miami, those conversations that kicked up at the combine and it kind of been percolating for, you know, we'll call it a couple weeks.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's what's so good about podcasting is because it's preserved on the record and you can go back and search and you can pull the receipts because like you said, Chad, we said on multiple podcasts before they made this move even if and not to like, you know, hedge our bets or pat ourselves on the back, but I think we took a level ahead of approach and we said, even if the Broncos don't make a single outside move, which we both thought was inevitable, but even if they didn't, they're good enough at base to be a 10 11 12 win team.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: So, you're right, Doc, and Chad was saying they're neither of us, and we can speak for ourselves.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: We weren't near the edge of the cliff, but both things could be true.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: We can recognize the Brock Lesnar or a good team, but they were derelicting their duty, so to speak, by sitting on their hands for so long.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's okay to criticize them.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have to be sunshineing over everything they do.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_03]: And even now, as we've already kind of hinted at earlier in the conversation, there are some needs that are pretty apparent.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the Broncos might not view them quite as desperately per se as we might.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: For example, the John Franklin Myers departure.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_03]: They did draft saving on Jones last year.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_03]: They basically let him have a red shirt rookie type of season.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_03]: He was active a couple of games, but he did not really contribute, but they obviously have some big plans for him.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_03]: Eoma was a Reke played really, really well last season, but as a depth player, and what he brings to the table, hey, very helpful on 1st and 2nd down, but that third downzack interior past rush thing.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_03]: That goes by by with John Franklin Myers.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the hope is that saving on Jones, right, can come in and provide some of that stuff, that past rushing presence and impact on third down.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_03]: So it might could be to quote my good friend BA, that's how he would say things.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_03]: It might could be, might could be.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_03]: And by the way, God rest, you're still be it.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos are saying, we're gonna take two guys to fill this spot for now and we'll see which one kind of may be emerges Zack as the starter over time.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the the bigger thing was docked that the Broncos sent the message and like Chad was talking about earlier with he's happy about our for boneics and I am as well, but they sent the message that they're not overly conservative.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: They're willing to spend money or willing to spend draft picks in the soul goal, the soul mission to make the Broncos offense better, make their quarterback better, and win more games in 2026 and beyond.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: And when they follow up the talk, they said they were going to be opportunistically aggressive.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's where I commend them.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's easy to talk.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's tougher to actually fall for.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_03]: But like, you know, meanwhile, you got Cam Jordan out there.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead and bring him in.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_03]: But then again, I guess for them, the equation comes down to this.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_03]: A 36-year-old Cam Jordan who still wants to play, we'd have to pay him something that's probably, I don't know what they'd end up having to pay him.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 23:15[SPEAKER_03]: Whatever it is, Zack, it would probably cancel out the fourth round compensatory pick.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_03]: They're hoping to get from the John Franklin Myers departure, which was part of the arithmetic, part of the reason why anyways, Zack, this we know for sure, he wasn't even approached during the by-last season when they extended what was it three different guys.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_03]: It was because they were looking ahead to the Compick formula.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_03]: Are they gonna risk that by bringing in Cam Jordan?
- 23:39[SPEAKER_03]: When they believed they've got,
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: A couple of guys, maybe not the shining obvious dude that's ready to rock, but two guys who could step in and kind of tag team that we'll see.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_03]: But Doc, appreciate your buddy really, really good to see.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_03]: We got Tucson Phil also in the house, brother on Facebook saying, good evening, Chad Zach and Deacon Scott going to be fun.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_03]: See you in Portland, Sutton and Jalen Water.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_03]: get a thousand yards this season and also stopping the other team from crowding the line for the line of scrimmage for the run, buckham MHH for live bronchets for live.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude, he's he's going to be able to help this team in so many different ways, and it's going to be really fun to see how they use him like even Zach, if they hadn't changed, made the big
- 24:23[SPEAKER_03]: big shift to have Davis Web take over play calling duties, and even that considering they're going to still prioritize the screen game.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_03]: That's part of the Sean Peyton offense.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_03]: They love that.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_03]: The problem is they haven't been all that great at it for a few different reasons, but the biggest primary reason is outside of Marvin Mims, who they've been kind of reluctant to use that much.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: They haven't had a guy that's all that great at running those.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_03]: Wattles perfect for that Zach because he's the perfect example of short pass long game.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_03]: Make a guy miss boom.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's going to be it's like a kid in the candy store if you're Davis Webb or Sean Peyton and bone next to.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_02]: What I love about the, uh, water edition is like a little bonus in that he knocks everyone down to where they should be, and what I mean by that is he takes over as the wide receiver one.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: He makes court in Sutton, the wide receiver too.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's where he should be.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: It makes correct Franklin or Marvin Men is a wide receiver three, not a wide receiver two or an Detroit Franklin's case.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's not where he should be.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's not a full-time wide receiver too yet.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: So, they finally have the correct pecking order and they're not stretching any once you've been for so long, Chad.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: We felt like a decade or so.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: They had Cortland Sutton and solely Cortland Sutton as the Widersever one and they tried to fit a square peg and a round hole over and over and over again and they realized finally it's not going to work out now.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have to do that anymore.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_03]: Dude, I think that, look, they're, they're elements to Wattles game that you can point to previous Bronco receivers over time and go at this is similar to DT or that aspect similar to Emmanuel Sanders, but I don't think the Broncos, at least in recent canon, have had a wide receiver that can quite do all the things that Jalen Wattles can do.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I think the closest is Demarius Thomas, I mean, even though Demarius Thomas was
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: and overall way better and more prolific wide receiver.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_03]: In my opinion, then Jaylon Waddle.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_03]: DT comes the closest to that quick twitch straight burner speed thing that Waddle brings to the table.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_03]: And he ends up kind of being like an amalgamation between DT and Emmanuel Sanders.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_03]: And one of the things that DT was really good at, they didn't run it with quite as much, uh, uh,
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: quite as often I should say as Sean Peyton does, but he was great at taking those screens and turning them into something, including ADR touchdowns, and that's something I look forward to seeing from the bottom.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know I just thought of Chad.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: Carlos Henderson remember that name.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, former third former.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a third round pick from like Caroline attack a ACC or something like that.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: A very small school and I was so pumped because he could have been that take the top off the defense kind of guy the speed team and the break the break the game open and he just never materialized.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm I'm faithful that water will.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, 2017, third round pick, bear release.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he did survive this season.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he was released.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_03]: He made it through the second summer as a Bronco was released, basically, the set right before the season started, the final cuts.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: of his second year had a lot of our injury history issues initially as a Bronco, but yeah, you know, you always wonder guys like him what could have been for sure.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_03]: But Phil, brother, good to see you up much love and respect.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_03]: We also got Gene William checking in on Facebook.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_03]: The brace girdles looks like our in effect love it did.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: He says, what's up, man?
- 27:52[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you guys.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's good to see you too, Gene.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_03]: Jalen freaking water he says now we need David and Joku and will be set man I wish the Broncos were thinking that way Jean I really do I just have my doubts and not only based on the fact that
- 28:11[SPEAKER_03]: He's been chillin' on the open market, Zaxense, you know, what is this day?
- 28:15[SPEAKER_03]: 10, basically, since in Joku's been getable, but also what we learned last week, Gene in case you might have missed it, that there is the Broncos reportedly, put a cap on the tight end position.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: Don't wanna pay more than six million per year.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_03]: What do you know, big, stand out in Troutman three years and basically they're paying them about six, just under six million per year.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Jean, you could ask for David and Joku, but the Broncos have Adam Troutman at home.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: So they're not going to splurge if they don't have to.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: They made their splurge and they chose Adam Freaking Troutman.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I say that non-lovingly, I still can't believe they gave them a three-year deal.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: They gave them $18 million.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: They gave them legitimate guarantee money.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: It blows my freaking mind.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Even if we miss out on a joke who I've wanted from the outset, I agree with you.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: The fact that Brock was got jail and freakin' waddled, see different connotations.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: I am just pumped.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm over the moon.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: It makes the whole offseason so far definitely worth it.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_03]: especially known who they brought back right they brought back so much of the band the only guys they've really lost up to this point is jfm which we were all anticipating in the first place PJ lock was a little bit more of a question mark but he wasn't a starter after all he's a great guy to have when you need a starter when your starter goes down but
- 29:28[SPEAKER_03]: wish him the best.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: So Gene brother.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Paul.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_03]: We also got Ralph the old man checking in the old man meeting Gene's old man good to see a bro hope everyone's doing very very well in the Braise girl clan.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: He says my priests.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_03]: Now we have to think about who in the receiver room won't make this team.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_03]: L. J. H. Little Jordan Humphrey.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that that does kind of put a little bit of a damper on L. J. H. You know, if I'm the Broncos, I'm going to him, and I'm saying with a lot more seriousness and urgency, Bill Jordan, dude, you are best blocking wide receiver.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_03]: That's why we keep bringing you back.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just move you to tight end, dude.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just get that done.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_03]: Put a few more LBs on to over the off season.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: And let you get in line and block.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_03]: And you could still be a very competent tight end receiver, like he's coming from that receiver background.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_03]: I would love to see it.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_03]: The other things that relative to Humphrey and Waddle is who gets 17.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think the answer is very clear when Jalen Wattles holding up a 17 at his press conference today.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he paid off, little Jordan Humphrey or whatever, but I would be very, very surprised if Wattles and anything other than 17.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: But Ralph, you might be right.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: They sign a little Jordan to like a one year deal for the veteran minimum.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: It was never a guarantee he was going to be on the week one roster, and especially not now.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I do wonder, as I wrote about for the website, what this means for some of the players in the receiving core, like Marvin Mimms, who's in the last year of his contract, and the Broncos have shown no faith in making him a full-time receiver, or Troy Franklin, who they tried to shoe more into that number two role behind Courtland Sun, and it just didn't work out for Franklin.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's a number three probably at best.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: So one of them, more than likely, is in danger as well.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be surprised if they trade Franklin or Mims on draft night.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: There you have it, guys.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to rock the 17.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: So who knows?
- 31:25[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe because maybe he didn't have to buy it because Little Jordan was coming back on a new deal as well.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_03]: But now Little Jordan's former number, uh, love you Ralph.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, his former number 84 is now Caleb Loner, right?
- 31:42[SPEAKER_03]: Cause he left this time last year with the giants Humphrey did, then time passes.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos go through the draft.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: They draft Caleb Loner.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_03]: He takes 84, which was what Humphrey rocked on his first in Denver.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: And then when he came back, they gave him 17 and now Wattles got it.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see maybe he rocks an 80s number up to see what's available for Lil Jordan.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_03]: But Wattles keeps the number he's had as a prozac.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm pretty sure that's what he rocked at Alabama.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he looks really good in the numbers.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: You some players just look good in certain numbers.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: I know it sounds stupid, but it's just what's he's been associated with.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I'd be shocked if he didn't wear that in Denver.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_03]: All right guys, we got a lot more to get to Camden were coming to you George and our members in the chat hang tight with this guys, but first we got to take you back in time a little bit because when we first started the MHH merch store back in 2019, we weren't sure whether it was the right decision and everyone has those thoughts like man, what if this doesn't work, what if it fails, nobody buys anything.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_03]: And it's never easy to overcome that kind of uncertainty in those doubts.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: But choosing to make the leap and launch the merch store, I can tell you this, was one of the best decisions that MHH has made.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_03]: And when we were launching the MHH merch store, Shopify helped ease so many of those concerns with its expertise, helpful tools, easy to use platform, etc.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_03]: And we couldn't have succeeded, honestly, guys, without Shopify.

- 34:26[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys, back in the saddle, we got Camden.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, brother, dear member, bonafide superstar saying, what's up, Broncos country?
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited about the water trade and how it could benefit bonyx the offense and hopefully the Broncos can be dominant and dynamic
- 34:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, Bonix, Zach, for the most part, I want to say he's he's been pretty diplomatic and a democratic, I think, is actually the word I'm looking for in spreading the ball around.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_03]: However, he's had his favorite, right?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: Cortland Sutton when the chips are down is his guy and if you look at the target share, I mean, I could pull it up the difference between the number of targets, Cortland got last year and Troy Franklin, for example, there is a deficit, but
- 35:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think that you're going to see a pretty clear like Zach that was actually a good way to put it I think I haven't heard anyone quite put it the way you did that one of the upsides to this trade beyond the obvious what you're getting with jail and water is it kind of does clarify and crystallize everybody's role and kind of puts everybody on that depth chart a little bit more in their place the biggest question mark I have is.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_03]: how does Marvin Mimms fit in?
- 35:38[SPEAKER_03]: Does the water trade and him come to town?
- 35:42[SPEAKER_03]: Which by the way, he passed his physical, he's officially bronco, you guys know that.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: But Marvin Mimms, is this an excuse to just keep him on specials for the contract year?
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: Or are they gonna try and build on some of that momentum?
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: You think he established in the playoffs?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know it's tough because like you said he isn't a walkier so the Broncos are going to have to decide what they want to do going forward and to this point all we can go on is how they've utilized him and and how Sean Payne spoke of Marvin Mims despite what we've seen in the limited sample size it seems like every time Mims is thrown the ball I was watching a replay of the Giants Broncos game and he made a big catch on the last drive the game-winning field goal drive I forgot about.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: Every time you throw Marvin the ball, hands up catching it, he ends up coming up clutch, but I don't think that Sean Peyton season that way, Chad.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: If he did, he would have made him the wider receiver to last season and not Troy Franklin.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I was trying to look it up.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't have time, but I think Franklin had a hundred targets last season from both of us.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: And if he had anywhere near that number, those hundreds of targets immediately going to Jalen Waddle now will just boost the offense on that alone.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's what makes it so much better.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: When I was talking about knocking everyone down in their place, the differences between having Troy Frunken and as Ryder Seever 2 and Ryder Seever 3 could be massive.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so you're right 104 targets Zach, but he only caught 65 of them.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_03]: So that's a pretty big gap between the number of targets and how many were actually caught meanwhile you go to Portland.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_03]: Cortland had 124 targets.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_03]: So actually, they were a little bit closer in the target realm than I expected.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_03]: And Cortland too, only 74 of the 124.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know what it is.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: Like some of that downfield stuff.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_03]: They got to get better at.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: But yes, Jalen Wattles is going to be stepping in and consuming the majority of those.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_03]: Those targets from Troy Franklin, but hey, it's not over for Troy.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he, he.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_03]: stands to be that next receiver on the field, and it's like Jalen talked about today during his press conference.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, do you view yourself as the number one receiver coming in here or whatever?
- 37:50[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, look, I don't think there is a number one, generally speaking, and it's actually something that Sean Payton has said, right?
- 37:56[SPEAKER_03]: Like, where it kind of comes off his coach speak and you're trying to kind of understand, understand the train of thought, but
- 38:01[SPEAKER_03]: what he's trying to say is that, yeah, you've got to see, hurry, pardon me, you've got an X, you got a Z, and then you got your slot.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_03]: And in a Sean Peyton scheme, man, those pieces get moved around quite a bit to where it's not like the old days were in X.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: Even the, the, the,
- 38:17[SPEAKER_03]: Demarius Thomas days where it was pretty clear he's the ex pretty clear Sanders was the Z in the Peyton offense You know guys move around some guys of you start out on the boundary as the Z and then the next set You're playing from this from the slaughter whatever so Sean Peyton Davis web They'll be moving their pieces around the board to devastating effect as long as bone nicks Continues to take those steps which we all are confident that he's going to.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's gonna be dope
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: And here's the context of that as well.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's not so much that they moved Franklin around the formation because you're right, Chad.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: The chest pieces that Sean Peyton has are interchangeable around the offense.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that they move Franklin from the outside to the slaughter vice versa.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's that he still ended up with a hundred plus targets, almost as much as the de facto wide receiver one in Portland, Sutton.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know another world, another team, I should say, at least where Troy Franklin would have gotten a hundred plus targets.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: Again, when we talk about how badly both Nick's key to another weapon, it comes out in the numbers and the data man because boy, this was the biggest gap on the team and they filled it a plum.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude, I'm stoked, Camden, appreciate you, buddy.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_03]: We got the dub checking in from the top row.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Dale, legend, legendary superstar.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Dale, love you, buddy.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: He says, we knew something had to be brewing.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_03]: And this is what he was saying.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was Monday night.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_03]: It might have been Sunday night, because sometimes the day is running into each other.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_03]: But this is what Dale was saying.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_03]: Like we were kind of thinking, AJ Brown, because some of the scottal butt, right?
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: You had even Brian balding her.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_03]: kicking that ball down the road a little bit and giving it new life just right going into the weekend or whatever.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_03]: So Gail was on this.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_03]: He's like something's coming in here.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_03]: He's saying we knew something had to be brewing.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_03]: This guy has been underutilized in my opinion talking about water due to two of us lack of arm strength and his overall play.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_03]: Waddle can play at elite levels against zone man and press coverage Fireed up round two, which is now our first round pick kind of like Zack 2022 and 2023 with the rust thing We didn't have a first round pick to look forward to so that second round pick which ended up being Benito and who is 2023 Marvin Mims ended up being everything for Broncos country But he says round two.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_03]: I'm hoping for the linebacker Texas tech rod regas or the tight end Eli stout.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's stowers
- 40:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm stoked he says, Broncos for life.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: Man, Dale, it often happens, but it really happened now.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, first and foremost, thank you so much for your generosity as always.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: But like I agree, word for word with what you're saying here, the premises, the predictions, the insights.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_02]: I would love for the Broncos, because that's their biggest needs now.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: After a filling receiver, they've recigned Dobbin, so okay, that's kind of taken care of.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: You still need a tight end.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sold on running it back with the small three, not even the big three.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: and you need another linebacker because I'm not sold with running it back with singleton and sternat after releasing dry green law and then you're relying on Korean Avery, and Level Bailey.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: So I would love these picks and what you pointed out there with water and his being underutilized is so true.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: Some fans, opposing fans and even some Broncos fans have criticized water for not having a thousand yard season in a couple of years.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: If you've walked a Dolphins game in the last couple of seasons, you'd understand why.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: The quarterbacking nightmare, the coaching nightmare, they had one playmaker.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: They were relying on, they were trying to utilize in HN.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: Waddle still did very well considering the circumstances.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: And if you look at his early production of Miami, the dude has super star potential.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to get back to in Denver.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_03]: Dude, that whole team was imploding last year and he still had 900 and something yards and six touchdowns.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, that would have co-led the Broncos and touchdowns and would have checked in just on just behind Cortland Sutton and Yardage.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not like he's had 3000 yards seasons to start his career and then turned into a couple of 300 yard campaigns.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's been plugged in a way, but it's a quarterback dependent position, right?
- 42:19[SPEAKER_03]: And two up between the injuries and then just fully losing his grasp on.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: be in the guy in Miami.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, his number suffered Jalen Wattles.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_03]: So, but here's what's interesting.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like DWP here, he's stoked on the possibility of Rodriguez for the Broncos, the second round picks.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_03]: So here's NFL mock draft database, linebackers, according to the consensus, Bigboard.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, Rvel Reese is the first then Sony styles.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_03]: Those guys will be
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: then it's CJ Allen the Georgia linebacker who we liked as a strong possibility when the Broncos still had pick 30 then it's Anthony Hill Jr. from Texas then Jacob Rodriguez who's moving up in terms of his average mock draft position with
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: the different mocks across the the internet.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_03]: And this doesn't necessarily take into consideration fan mocks, it's like publication mocks, right?
- 43:15[SPEAKER_03]: And then it's Jake Golday, who I like a lot as well, Trotter's Awesome, but those two right there, Zach Rodriguez Golday, linebacker, that is an issue for Denver because yes, oh, and I just realize I'm totally blocking my parts face off.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_03]: They brought back Zack Singleton, they brought back Sternad, but they're net negative right now because they let Drake Greenlaw hit the bricks.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm with you as well.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: If they can't get Rodriguez, if he goes before their pick, I would be very happy with the goal day.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think he can thrive in the middle of the Broncos defense, and like you said, like Dale is saying here, it's still a big need despite bringing back the incumbents from last season.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again, Dale.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude, much love and respect.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_03]: Hope the families doing well, big dog.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_03]: Water, Franklin, MIMS, and Sutton on the field danger.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude, I mean, I look at it like this.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_03]: So that slot or that third, let's just say that third receiver onto the field, it's gonna be a rotation.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be Franklin at times, it'll be MIMS, it'll be Pat Bryant, but what gets me excited, like this is what actually would thrill me the most.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_03]: Marvin Mims and then let's not forget Evan Ingraham guys who this should also help free up a little bit.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_03]: So, I mean, for Bo Nix now it's like that he was just missing the one piece.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't need all pros at every single skill position, but just given the difference makers.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I think by a water coming insect, it's going to take some of the pressure off of Franklin, for example, and Brian.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_03]: And I think you could see them actually develop
- 44:57[SPEAKER_03]: at a fast rate because some of that pressure is off him and you know it's also some of the attention from defenses.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be interesting, but I agree DJ Danger.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: And how about whoever's lining up in the backfield in that theoretical package, RJ Harvey out of the backfield as a past catcher.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of different ways.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos, it's like death by a thousand paper cuts when you're facing the Broncos offense because they have weapons at every level now.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's what Chavez saying.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: They were just that missing element away.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was a major element.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: Don't get us wrong, but it was just one singular element.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: And they haven't filled no.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we can't forget guys, like sometimes it's I think easy.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_03]: for all fans, but especially our neck of the woods to take Portland Sutton for granted at times just because
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's not making those big 80 art plays all the time right like you see some of the big super star receivers in the NFL do, but guys, there's a reason why the Broncos have him on his third contract.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_03]: He's indispensable and now they got to play him straight up.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_03]: They got to, they got to play him honestly man on man dude and because if you double team caught in Sutton with his put a safety over the top fine.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_03]: Then Jalen Wattles just got to beat one guy.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_03]: And so now they got to go, all right, we got to kind of play our safety's a little bit more honestly, man on man, what at or zone, like D.W. was talking about either way, Bonyx, he'll find those matchups that are favorable, boom, boom, boom.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_03]: gonna be dope so thank you DJ great great point my friend uh i don't want to skip over George on Facebook what's up brother hope you're doing well big dog he says just seeing hello guys and Broncos country images for life Broncos for life hit the thumbs up guys yeah while you're with this don't forget hit that thumbs up helps us help us out a lot
- 46:41[SPEAKER_03]: We also have here Zach, the original Dizzy D checking in.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you, pal.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_03]: He says, be on the lookout for the little and water like a baby duck TD celebration.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_03]: Sutton, right, he does the the water thing when he scores Sutton is little and we have water.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: And we got them baby ducks in Nixon Franklin.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_03]: Hello, well.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very well said, dude.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_03]: That reminds me of something McKaylet texted me the Dutch is also if I can find his act.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: I just love the a lot of avian terminology there a lot of allusions to birds.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate it dizzy.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for that Let me see.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_03]: I'm seeing if I can find it.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man Water Oh, dang She said bow is a duck and what do ducks do?
- 47:29[SPEAKER_03]: They water, right?
- 47:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like that.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_03]: Well said
- 47:33[SPEAKER_03]: original dzd appreciate you my brother we got the the oh my gosh the lady d coming in from the top rope if you didn't the anahandry checking in Mount Rushmore superstar dear member legendary figure in the community saying I am so happy with the water trade I know we're all there on the ledge not jumping off it but kind of going
- 47:56[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, John's revolting in Pulp fiction.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know that, I mean, what's anything going to happen here?
- 48:02[SPEAKER_03]: She says, bone nicks finally getting the help he needs.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_03]: I see nothing but positive outcomes for water and Sutton both going over a thousand this year.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_03]: We still need to running back linebacker tight in, but I don't see them going for a tight in.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_03]: Great trade overall hashtag image age for life.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_03]: Believe it or not, the last time the Broncos
- 48:26[SPEAKER_03]: Had 2,000 yard receivers was Trevor Simmons, first year, 2016, D.T.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: and Sanders got over and then that was the last of them both balling out together, but how nice would that be?
- 48:40[SPEAKER_03]: Lady D, love you.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, first and foremost, the end of thank you so much.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: You hear me say these words every single day, but thank you so much.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: There were many seasons, Chad, the Broncos were struggling to get 1,000 yard receiver.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_02]: There were a lot of seasons where they didn't have any, 1,000 yard receiver.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_02]: So the fact now, they could have two going over a thousand bonyx and a big third season, coming off an AFC championship game appearance, they're at least for the Broncos.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now Davis web calling the plays and getting a bottle, going over the middle and down the field,
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: I am stoked.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: I am pumped.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_02]: D. N. I share an echo your sentiment there.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: Great trade for the Broncos.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you again.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: And again, the contract is doable.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_03]: That kind of reminds me.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_03]: So real quick, lady D. I'm going to take your super chat off the screen so I can do a little share screen here.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think that you and everybody else will find edifying.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_03]: Let me just pop that off.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_03]: And this
- 49:40[SPEAKER_03]: This comes from Jason Fitzgerald, the brainchild of over the cap, and I'm not going to read this whole thing.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_03]: He's not all that stoked on the trade from Denver side.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't quite get it, but that's okay.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's like national guy.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_03]: A couple things he says here, Zack.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_03]: So quote, this is.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_03]: a great trade for Miami assuming they didn't pick up any salary, better receivers and water have gone for less than this, and Miami's path to be in relevant against about getting younger, et cetera, et cetera, and getting graphics.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_03]: Miami will take on 26.3 million in dead money for the trade.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_03]: but then they'll get a $3.08 million salary cap credit next year.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_03]: Wattles contract was another in a long line of missteps by the dolphins in the last few years.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_03]: He was signed to an extension in 2024 and played exactly zero games under the new years of his contract, which began this season.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_03]: They paid him about 16 million more than his rookie contract for those zero games.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: Miami will likely need to restructure
- 50:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure has to be looking at this like they're getting water at a discounted price since Miami pre-paid part of that contract they will take on the Broncos 68 million in salary over the next three seasons with 41.3 million effectively guaranteed sop in reality he writes it's a two year 41 million dollar contract followed by Zack a decision year the Broncos have
- 51:16[SPEAKER_03]: they can either take on the five million cap charge this year, or they can say not on a decline that through his option that's coming up and take on the full 17.24 million dollar cap charge, which then reduces his future cap charge.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_03]: So they can either take the kind of discount this season's at.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_03]: Or they can take it in the future, I think they end up taking it this year.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_03]: But this is why apologies for the long-winded reading of this.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_03]: But it's good context to understand even further why this is such a good trade for Denver.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, from, about him, it's like just put the fries in the bag bro.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: Just give me the numbers.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't need you to tell me what your opinion is on this trade.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: Whether you like it or not.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's an unabashed jet fan chat.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_02]: So that is enough said there.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: I like, you know, everyone has their opinion on the trade.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: The Brock was only being on the hook for five million.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: And we understand there's a cap decision they're going to have to make.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_02]: But even if it was a two year, 41 million dollar contract, getting a number one receiver for Bonix, it's 20 million for a couple years, isn't a bad deal at all.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_03]: No, so I'm with you though, Deanna, water and Sutton, both going over a thousand.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's officially been 10 years since the Broncos had two thousand yard receivers in a single season.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_03]: Why not now?
- 52:29[SPEAKER_03]: Bonyx, I think Zack, he's going to continue turning that corner and
- 52:34[SPEAKER_03]: getting closer.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_03]: Now he's got the weapons to have the means to kind of start putting up some of the Star Wars numbers like you saw from the Drew Breeze Offences over the years in New Orleans and like Broncos fans became accustomed to for that four-year run with Peyton.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_02]: Or how about he just he throws his receiver a ball and the receiver catches it and holds on to it.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_02]: That would be a start for Bonyx.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't have much of that consistently in 2025.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_03]: Before we dip out here, let's grab some of the members here.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_03]: Rock.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you, Pulse.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_03]: Broncos legend Rod Smith talked about the trade.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_03]: And basically what he said, I'll paraphrase he said that, you know, talked about what water brings to the table, which we've we've touched on tonight.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_03]: But he also said that it sends a pretty clear message back to this receiver room that hey, man.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't good enough, not Spartan Sutton per se, although we have our complaints right with the drops, that could always be better, but more to the Franklin's, the Bryant's and the Mims that it's go time.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like when your number gets called and you're on this field and you're in this offense, you need to be on point.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_03]: So hopefully that is Zach and effect that helps kind of raise the ships in the in the receiver room, that competition now going,
- 53:55[SPEAKER_03]: Now it's three guys that are going to be for if you can't little Jordan that are going to be battling for that one spot with regularity anyway on offense.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it makes everyone else accountable too.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like, if you can't do the job consistently, we'll go trade for someone else who will.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: And Sean Peyton even talked about that and demonstrated in the end of season press conference when he said the receivers weren't catching the ball properly.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: They weren't aligning their thumb to where it should be or whatever, how he described it.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: They go out, they fire the receivers coach and they trade for Jalen Waddle.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_02]: Again, like I said earlier, I love seeing action and not just talk.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_03]: Another dear member Chris Bush saying, yes, our linebackers need to tighten up this year to really lock down the defense.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully, VJ looks at this as a weakness for us last year.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_03]: So I think, unfortunately, you have to if you look at the Broncos defense that as a whole last season as great as it was and you go, all right, where the weak points, it was the middle.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_03]: It was the linebacker play, but I honestly think they brought back the best one and that's Justin's turn that.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_03]: Drake Greenlaw with all the injuries.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_03]: He's, you know, the time on task that he missed on the sideline.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_03]: He wasn't quite able to find his footing.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_03]: He's a great guy.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I know the Broncos Act.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_03]: They felt, uh, they didn't feel great that it didn't work out.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm sure they didn't feel great.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_03]: Zach moving on from him.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_03]: But he landed on his feet back with San Francisco.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_03]: So in my opinion, no harm, no foul there.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 55:22[SPEAKER_03]: that unit like I'm I'm feeling like Zack Sternaz still kind of on the up swing a little bit really competent in him.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm fine with singleton as well because I think he kind of found his footing the second half of the season coming back from that ACL that he missed most of the preceding season.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_03]: It takes a little time to find your football legs.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_03]: To me it's a question of who's going to be that third guy because in the NFL man you need three you need a solid three guys at
- 55:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that guy's currently on the roster.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to sell Jordan Turner, LaVelle Bailey, Drew Sanders, a Korean-A read short, but I think that's one of the positions that we can kind of earmark is who was it that was talking about, D-Dub, Rodriguez, Goldais, something like that in the draft.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Broncos saw what VJ did with the linebackers he got in Arizona, the first round commitments they gave him and he didn't capitalize too much.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe they went with a higher floor room with Strenaud and Singleton and it might be the way to go.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but I still think you need another linebacker, at least with more upside or more side line to side lineability.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you, Chad.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_02]: I guess Strenaud has at least a little bit of upside left in him, but Singleton is on the decline now.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_02]: We know what he is.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's a decent run-stuffer, he's horrible in past coverage.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_02]: They need that young up and come or so.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: They need not to be done at the position just yet.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Pearl.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_03]: So they haven't signed.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos have not signed.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_03]: Tyson Anderson yet, according to Parker Gabriel.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_03]: There is a report from Cleveland that it happened, but it's not official yet.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll keep an eye on it, but if they do sign him, he's a safety.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_03]: He wouldn't affect Marvin Mims.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_03]: Only, I mean, the only way he would affect him is he'd be there on specials to kind of help blockform and probably on punt return and maybe kick return, but he'd be coming in to help on special teams as a gunner
- 57:20[SPEAKER_03]: bringing him in, which I'm kind of intrigued now, Zach, to be honest with you, especially going back and looking at some of his combined numbers like dude at six but two, around a four, three.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, basically just to back up safety core special teamer, maybe, members from on Smith, a couple years ago, same thing.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_02]: He was technically a cornerback, but he made most of his, uh, his bones on special teams.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe Anderson will play a little more defense and a little more
- 57:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Ron, the bills were in on water, but and they reportedly offered the dolphins more, but they just didn't want to trade them in the division, right?
- 57:59[SPEAKER_03]: Which makes sense.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, another dear member, Mike Thompson, bro, saying, and this is true, man.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_03]: I wrote this up.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_03]: I decided to cover what to leave said.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_03]: I just had a feeling coming off that podcast Monday night.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_03]: The last time you saw Zach and I together.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_03]: And earlier that day to leave it made a little bit of new Zach saying the Broncos, I'm telling you right now, I'm not betraying my sources, but they are we are going to have a quote unquote explosion player for Bonix coming down the pike and so I'm like, all right, I'm going to write this up in my mind, it was kind of still stuck on AJ Brown Zach because of the.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_03]: Scuddle, but I wasn't ruling out, Jalen Waddle, obviously, but something like that, and sure enough, the next morning wake up, and he said, make sure when it happens, you say, Lee was right.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_03]: Lee was right.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_02]: Lee was right.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I give him all the credit.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_02]: I love that he made the claim to skip bailiff's face as well.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: I made him look better on the process.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_03]: I'm self.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, Roy says I just hope that Bo and Jalen get some chemistry.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, that's one thing that was pretty clear.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we knew this beforehand, but just hearing him talk today and what he says like he's got a very high football IQ.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_03]: I imagine he's going to pick up the scheme pretty quickly.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was impressive that when he mentioned the Broncos, he was asked about the how he fits in the receiver room and stuff he named he's been here for.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_03]: He was there for a couple hours today by the time he's talking exact, he named every receiver in the room by first name, which is not easy to do.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he might have already had that log, but it goes to show you the kind of football character he has football brain.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_03]: No one worries that people, all that stuff.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_03]: He's a smart dude and it won't take him too long.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you'll never confuse him for a diva, like an AJ Brown, if you bring him a board, you're getting all those character concerns, same with George Pickens for that matter, as well.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have those concerns with Jalen Waddle.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's clean as could be.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: We got a few messages for you.
