- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, I'm back in L.A.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Are you excited to be back?
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'm very excited to be back.
- 0:05Speaker 3: That shirt that you're wearing right now, it's a little tight.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Thank you. It says hooray.
- 0:10Speaker 2: No, I mean it's a little tight. Like it's constricting.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It's bald. It's bald. Well, on a non-dissing me note,
- 0:16Speaker 1: it says hooray for health heroes because I believe in that.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Our friend Amanda Klutz, who is the widow of the
- 0:25Speaker 1: late Nick Cordero, has been selling all these awesome shirts.
- 0:30Speaker 1: hooray for different things. And she gave me hooray for
- 0:34Speaker 1: health heroes because she knows I love health heroes. Love it.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And to give her a plug, I'm sure, I don't
- 0:39Speaker 1: know what the link is, but if you put in
- 0:41Speaker 1: Amanda Kloots hooray for dot, dot, dot t-shirts, I think
- 0:46Speaker 1: some of the money goes to a really good cause.
- 0:48Speaker 1: And of course, some of the money goes to helping
- 0:50Speaker 1: her live without her husband. Amen.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Right on. How are you guys doing after.
- 0:59Speaker 2: This wonderful weekend that we just had.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Happy to be home.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Happy to be home.
- 1:03Speaker 1: We're all finally back in LA together.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Did you just land, Zach, today?
- 1:08Speaker 1: I landed late last night, and I know it is
- 1:12Speaker 1: smoky here. It does, if you don't live in LA,
- 1:14Speaker 1: it smells kind of like, the whole place smells like
- 1:17Speaker 1: a campfire. And there's this weird haze that the sun
- 1:21Speaker 1: comes through and kind of gives everything a weird Instagram-y filter.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Right, it's like if you were a photographer, And you
- 1:29Speaker 3: didn't want to go through the normal white balancing. You
- 1:33Speaker 3: might use daylight. And usually that makes your pictures really orange.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That's what it's like outside.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah. If you've lived here through all of these fires,
- 1:42Speaker 1: you're probably used to it. But I was gone so long.
- 1:45Speaker 1: But now I'm finally back. And it's eerie. It does
- 1:48Speaker 1: kind of look like there's this filter over everything. And
- 1:52Speaker 1: of course, you smell it. And occasionally... Fire choppers fly
- 1:57Speaker 1: by over my house. I'm told the closest one is
- 1:59Speaker 1: Pasadena to us. Is that right, guys?
- 2:02Speaker 3: Do you know?
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the Bobcat fire. But if you look on
- 2:06Speaker 1: a map of California where they show there's fires, it
- 2:09Speaker 1: looks like the entire state is on fire. It's just insane.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Well, it's not just California. Oregon is experiencing fires in
- 2:17Speaker 3: a bunch of places.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Colorado as well. Colorado, the West Coast is on fire
- 2:22Speaker 2: right now, to be honest with you. Everything west... is
- 2:26Speaker 2: in the United States is burning, man.
- 2:28Speaker 3: This thing is like, it's just, you know, smoke field
- 2:33Speaker 3: after smoke field after smoke field.
- 2:36Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Like we needed that. I mean, it's like, I remember
- 2:39Speaker 1: when the COVID first started and someone put on, there
- 2:43Speaker 1: was some announcement that bears were coming out of the
- 2:47Speaker 1: woods because of looking for food because people weren't leaving
- 2:50Speaker 1: their houses. And someone put on Twitter something like, not now, bears.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And that's kind of how I feel about the fires.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It's like, are you fucking kidding me? Like, we already
- 3:02Speaker 1: have an apocalypse going. You're bringing fires now? Yeah, fires.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Here comes the flood, too.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Did you hear about the piece of ice double the
- 3:11Speaker 3: size of Manhattan that's just broken off from the Arctic
- 3:15Speaker 3: ice thing? And it's just floating along in the ocean now. Eventually,
- 3:21Speaker 3: the size of two Manhattans.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Two Manhattans.
- 3:24Speaker 1: If there is a higher power, it does feel like
- 3:28Speaker 1: he or she is trying to get rid of us.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Well, we're helping. We're helping.
- 3:34Speaker 1: We're definitely helping, but doesn't it feel like these are
- 3:37Speaker 1: just plagues? And, you know, George Carlin had this amazing
- 3:41Speaker 1: bit about how, like... how the Earth and Mother Earth
- 3:44Speaker 1: is way more powerful than the humans are like little
- 3:48Speaker 1: ants on its back. And it's just going to like
- 3:50Speaker 1: swat them off eventually. And then some other animal, it'll
- 3:53Speaker 1: be their turn to rule Earth. And you can Google that.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It's super articulate and genius as George Carlin was. But
- 4:02Speaker 1: I've been thinking about that bit lately because I'm like
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Earth or a higher power or something feels like
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's like, all right, fuck humans, enough.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We've been fucking it up for too long. This is
- 4:15Speaker 1: the results of our own greed.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I like to think there's a sci-fi movie that could
- 4:20Speaker 3: chronologically tell the tale of this planet. What if we
- 4:26Speaker 3: aren't the... You know what I mean? They're just figuring
- 4:29Speaker 3: out that there could be life on.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Venus, right?
- 4:34Speaker 3: They just figured that out. It's possible that the atmosphere...
- 4:40Speaker 3: has bacteria in it, right? Okay, so, like, what if
- 4:45Speaker 3: we were at Venus first? We were Venus, and then
- 4:49Speaker 3: we were, and then we fucked that planet up, and
- 4:52Speaker 3: somehow we got to Earth. We're about to fuck that
- 4:55Speaker 3: planet up, this planet up, and we're gonna terraform Mars,
- 5:00Speaker 3: and that's the next stop for our civilization to begin.
- 5:03Speaker 3: And we're just hopping through the galaxy, freaking in, almost
- 5:08Speaker 3: like we're a bacteria, dude.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Shit's crazy, dude, right? Right. When you think about it.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Right.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And we're going to need, yeah, and the sun's burning
- 5:15Speaker 1: out anyway. So, I mean, it all has an end
- 5:17Speaker 1: date even before.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Billions of years from now.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's probably right.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Years from now.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I know, but guys, worst case scenario, we're going to
- 5:23Speaker 1: die off before the sun burns off. But the sun is,
- 5:26Speaker 1: there is an end date, you know? The sun is
- 5:28Speaker 1: going to run out. I want you to know something.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Two things. My publicist gifted me something.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Oh my God, she got you the fucking simulator.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Is it the simulator?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Calm down. Everybody calm down. But I want you to
- 5:42Speaker 1: know and I want all the fans to know the
- 5:44Speaker 1: level of friend that I am. I'm not going to
- 5:47Speaker 1: tell you what it is because it's not coming for
- 5:48Speaker 1: three weeks. But it's mega.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It's a fucking simulator, dude.
- 5:52Speaker 1: No, it's not a simulator. And don't guess.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I already know what it is. Please stop guessing.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I just want you to know something. She scored me
- 6:01Speaker 1: something very, very special and expensive. And I said, I
- 6:05Speaker 1: couldn't possibly take that unless you got Donald 1-2. And
- 6:11Speaker 1: she said, hold on, I'm on it. And that was
- 6:14Speaker 1: like a month ago.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Wow.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And she just texted me today. She scored you one too.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Thank you for the new Xbox. I appreciate it.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's not an Xbox. It's doper than an Xbox. But
- 6:25Speaker 1: don't guess. The fans and listeners, you will be the first.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I'm going to arrange it so when it comes, you
- 6:32Speaker 1: open it on the podcast.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I've always wanted a Tesla. I truly appreciate it.
- 6:38Speaker 1: No, no. You went too high with Tesla and you
- 6:41Speaker 1: went too low with Xbox. It's somewhere in between a
- 6:43Speaker 1: Tesla and an Xbox. The second thing I got to
- 6:46Speaker 1: tell you is that I ordered a Peloton and it
- 6:49Speaker 1: arrived while I was gone. Congratulations. And so I did
- 6:53Speaker 1: my first– I'm so out of shape. All I did
- 6:56Speaker 1: was eat fish and chips and drink over there in
- 6:59Speaker 1: the United Kingdom. And I have love handles and I'm
- 7:03Speaker 1: not down with that. So they're going to be gone
- 7:05Speaker 1: thanks to my new Peloton.
- 7:07Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 7:08Speaker 1: But listen, I want to tell you, I chose an instructor.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I chose the, I don't know if you've used the,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I think he's a British Asian guy. No. But my
- 7:16Speaker 1: point is, is that he's got your exact tattoo. He's
- 7:20Speaker 1: got a Superman. Well, you're getting rid of it, right?
- 7:22Speaker 2: Mine is pretty much gone.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Well, Donald had, he got when he was very young,
- 7:27Speaker 1: a Superman tattoo on his arm. And he's had it
- 7:29Speaker 1: his whole life or since he was young. And he
- 7:32Speaker 1: didn't like it anymore. He's getting rid of it. But
- 7:34Speaker 1: I take my first spin class on my Peloton, and
- 7:37Speaker 1: I get on, and there, in the exact same spot
- 7:40Speaker 1: as yours, the darn fella had a Superman tattoo.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I love that.
- 7:44Speaker 1: That's cool. So I just wanted you to know, it
- 7:46Speaker 1: was kismet.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And now you've just opened up the DC universe for me.
- 7:52Speaker 3: And we can get into that before we.
- 7:53Speaker 6: No, no, no.
- 7:54Speaker 1: It's a Scrubs podcast.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'm just joking.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And then it's also about our friends.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I'm just joking. I'm just joking. I'm just joking.
- 8:01Speaker 1: You and Joelle are perfectly, perfectly ready and able to
- 8:04Speaker 1: go do the Marvel DC Star Wars podcast.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Can't wait.
- 8:12Speaker 1: All right. Let's count us in.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 8:20Speaker 1: This episode is about sex. Sex.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Sex.
- 8:22Speaker 1: No, this episode has a lot of sex in it.
- 8:25Speaker 1: This episode is titillating. This is one of those episodes
- 8:50Speaker 1: that if you walked in and your kids were watching it,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you would either, if they were young enough, say, turn
- 8:56Speaker 1: that off. Or if they were of an age to
- 8:58Speaker 1: watch it, you would leave the room. Because there is
- 9:01Speaker 1: fucking in this episode.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Well, and there's a lot of tongue fighting in this episode.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, now I want to get right into that. But
- 9:08Speaker 1: do you want to do your summary? Because I do
- 9:09Speaker 1: want to talk about the tongue in this episode. There's
- 9:11Speaker 1: a lot of tongue.
- 9:12Speaker 2: All right, let's get into it.
- 9:14Speaker 1: All right, let me get my timer out.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It's going to be long.
- 9:17Speaker 1: No, you know, 30 seconds. That's the game. Remember? And go.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Everyone has secrets. J.D.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Knows and is helping Jordan keep her baby's father's identity
- 9:27Speaker 3: a secret.
- 9:28Speaker 2: J.D.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Also secretly sexed up tasty coma wife. Turk's having sex
- 9:32Speaker 3: dreams about Elliot and wants to keep it a.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Secret from Carla. And Dr.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Cox is secretly hating the time Jordan is making him
- 9:38Speaker 3: spend with his kid he doesn't even know is his own.
- 9:42Speaker 3: In order to keep a secret, you often have to
- 9:44Speaker 3: tell a lie. And when you tell one lie, it
- 9:46Speaker 3: leads to another and another, whether it's to protect yourself
- 9:50Speaker 3: or someone other than you. Lying, although easy, isn't the
- 9:53Speaker 3: wisest choice. Yes, sometimes the truth hurts, but the pain
- 9:57Speaker 3: of guilt and regret is endless. immeasurable and can last
- 10:01Speaker 3: a lifetime when your secret and or lie is uncovered,
- 10:05Speaker 3: especially when it hurts the one you were trying to protect.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Now, let's say the game was Donald do it in
- 10:16Speaker 1: 49 seconds. You nailed it.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Right on. I love that. Right on.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You nailed it. No, that was good. That was good. Well,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I put at the top of my thing. I wrote
- 10:25Speaker 1: all my notes. And then as I was kind of
- 10:27Speaker 1: looking them over, I just wrote sex on the top
- 10:30Speaker 1: of my pad. Because there's a lot of sex. There's
- 10:33Speaker 1: a lot of horniness. There's a lot of pent up
- 10:36Speaker 1: libidos in this episode.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 10:39Speaker 3: But if you notice, everything that's fucked up in this
- 10:42Speaker 3: all comes from someone either lying or keeping a secret
- 10:46Speaker 3: from the other person. It's fine to be sexual and
- 10:48Speaker 3: everything like that. But when you start keeping secrets in
- 10:50Speaker 3: sex or you start lying about sex, that's when usually
- 10:53Speaker 3: stuff starts to go the wrong way.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But why would Turk or why would you or why
- 10:58Speaker 1: would anyone tell their lover that they had a sex
- 11:02Speaker 1: dream about their female friend? That just seems like a
- 11:05Speaker 1: horrible idea.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Well, the minute that Turk told Elliot.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, horrible idea. Why did you do that? She's a blabbermouth.
- 11:12Speaker 1: We know Elliot's a blabbermouth.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Not only that, what are you trying to start? You
- 11:16Speaker 3: want to be starting something? Are you saying that shit
- 11:19Speaker 3: so that Elliot would be like, you know what? I've
- 11:21Speaker 3: been thinking about.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You too, Turk. I've always wanted BBC. You know what
- 11:25Speaker 2: I mean? Like, is that what happens? Is that what
- 11:29Speaker 2: he was expecting to happen?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yeah. I doubt Elliot's ever had BBC.
- 11:36Speaker 2: You're talking about the British network, right?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, the British network. Now, I have to jump right
- 11:42Speaker 1: to that fantasy of you guys because I had multiple emotions.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 11:49Speaker 1: No, we're going to go back, but it's the headline.
- 11:51Speaker 1: For everyone who doesn't remember, this is the episode where
- 11:54Speaker 1: Sarah is in like the sexiest pleather nurse stripper outfit.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And she's on Donald, and Donald's having a sex dream
- 12:05Speaker 1: about her. Turk's having a sex dream about her. And
- 12:07Speaker 1: they really go at it. Now, I had mixed emotions. One,
- 12:10Speaker 1: I was like, okay, damn, Sarah, because she's got the
- 12:14Speaker 1: stocking thing with the garter belt. I don't know. What
- 12:17Speaker 1: do you call those things when it's like a strap
- 12:18Speaker 1: that holds the stockings up?
- 12:21Speaker 2: A panty. A garter belt. It's a garter belt.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Garter belts. I don't even know that purpose of the
- 12:26Speaker 1: damn thing, but it looked great.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It's to keep the stockings up. You said it right.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Okay. Well, her stockings are up. And she's kissing on you.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And I just got to know, what was that like?
- 12:36Speaker 1: I mean, you discussed on the show that you weren't
- 12:39Speaker 1: getting too many opportunities outside of the beautiful and talented
- 12:43Speaker 1: Judy Reyes. And there's your friend Sarah Chalk in a
- 12:46Speaker 1: naughty outfit mounting you, kissing on you.
- 12:48Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you something right now. When we
- 12:50Speaker 3: were filming it, it felt horrible because it was like
- 12:52Speaker 3: kissing my sister.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I don't believe that. I don't believe you.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:58Speaker 3: But I'm telling you. that when doing that, it was like,
- 13:01Speaker 3: oh my God, I'm kissing my sister. I love Sarah
- 13:05Speaker 3: Chalk so much that it is like my family when
- 13:09Speaker 3: I'm around her. And at this point in the series,
- 13:12Speaker 3: we had spent so much time together. We had spent
- 13:15Speaker 3: so much time together that it was no longer, you know,
- 13:19Speaker 3: when I first saw Sarah, obviously I was like, holy cow,
- 13:22Speaker 3: she's hot. When I first saw Judy, holy cow, she's hot.
- 13:24Speaker 3: But at this point, She is my sister. And so
- 13:27Speaker 3: I remember doing this scene and being like, oh, my God.
- 13:30Speaker 3: And not this is gross, but this is work. Let's
- 13:34Speaker 3: approach this as professionals and, you know, make it through.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think you're lying, but I also
- 13:44Speaker 1: don't think that you thought it was uncomfortable as it
- 13:48Speaker 1: would be.
- 13:49Speaker 2: It was very uncomfortable.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Really?
- 13:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it was one of those uncomfortable feelings where it
- 13:55Speaker 3: was like, It felt dirty, but not in a good
- 13:59Speaker 3: dirty way.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You know what I mean? It felt bad dirty.
- 14:03Speaker 2: It felt bad dirty. Like, this doesn't feel right at all.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And you didn't have any twitching or movement, I take it.
- 14:08Speaker 2: There was no twitching or movement.
- 14:09Speaker 3: And I love Sarah, and I think she's beautiful and hot,
- 14:13Speaker 3: but at that time, when making this, when shooting this, There.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Was nothing happening.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Okay. Well, you sold it.
- 14:19Speaker 3: When I saw it today, when I saw it today,
- 14:21Speaker 3: I was like, oh, wow, look at the chemistry Sarah
- 14:23Speaker 3: and I have.
- 14:24Speaker 2: The kiss was passionate. It felt, you know what I mean?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Everything about it felt sexual and tab, not tabooish, but
- 14:32Speaker 3: like sexual and, well, I guess tabooish because you're not
- 14:34Speaker 3: supposed to be thinking about.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Stuff like that when you're engaged.
- 14:38Speaker 3: And I totally understand if there were people out there
- 14:41Speaker 3: that caught feelings when watching it. I understand why, because
- 14:46Speaker 3: it was hot. It was fire.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I had multiple emotions going on. I had one that
- 14:51Speaker 1: was like, wow, that's kind of hot. I mean, Sarah
- 14:54Speaker 1: looked great, and you two going at it was sort
- 14:57Speaker 1: of naughty and taboo, like you said. But then I
- 15:00Speaker 1: had a little bit like, why is Donald making out
- 15:03Speaker 1: with my TV girlfriend? I was a little jealous.
- 15:06Speaker 2: You got a little jealous.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I had a little tinge of like, get your fucking
- 15:10Speaker 1: hands off my TV girlfriend.
- 15:14Speaker 2: You ever seen The Last Dragon?
- 15:16Speaker 4: No.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You've never seen The Last Dragon?
- 15:19Speaker 1: The Last Dragon? No, I've not seen The Last Dragon.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Please see The Last Dragon. Please, I'm begging you to
- 15:24Speaker 3: see The Last Dragon.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Who plays the dragon?
- 15:27Speaker 2: This dude. This dude, Tymoc.
- 15:31Speaker 3: It's Barry Gordy's The Last Dragon, okay? Barry Gordy started Motown.
- 15:36Speaker 3: You know what Motown is, right?
- 15:38Speaker 1: Come on, buddy.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just saying. Put out.
- 15:41Speaker 3: such artists like Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Michael Jackson.
- 15:45Speaker 1: The Supremes. You don't have to list Motown artists.
- 15:48Speaker 2: For fuck's sake. He made a movie.
- 15:50Speaker 3: He produced a movie called The Last Dragon about Bruce Leroy,
- 15:56Speaker 3: the protector of Harlem, the Kung Fu protector of Harlem.
- 16:03Speaker 3: And there's only one person in his path that is
- 16:06Speaker 3: trying to stop him from being the one protector of
- 16:09Speaker 3: Harlem forever. And that is Shonuf. And Shonuf is the
- 16:12Speaker 3: Shogun of Harlem. And he is the prettiest. And he
- 16:14Speaker 3: is the baddest. And there's kung fu in it. There's
- 16:17Speaker 3: music in it.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Is it like a blaxploitation movie?
- 16:20Speaker 3: I guess you could say that. I don't think they
- 16:21Speaker 3: meant to do that when they were making it. It
- 16:24Speaker 3: was meant to be taken, you know, as a real story.
- 16:30Speaker 3: But with comedy and action and adventure. But I'm telling
- 16:33Speaker 3: you right now, in my youth growing up, this was
- 16:37Speaker 3: a huge movie. So anybody out there listening... if you
- 16:39Speaker 3: haven't seen the last dragon and you want to laugh
- 16:42Speaker 3: and you want to, you know, see some really cool
- 16:45Speaker 3: action and you want to hear some witty lines and
- 16:47Speaker 3: stuff like that, please get it. But there's a line
- 16:50Speaker 3: in it where the, it doesn't make sense if you
- 16:52Speaker 3: haven't seen the movie, but there's a line in it where, uh, vanity,
- 16:56Speaker 3: God rest her soul, uh, rest in peace, uh, is
- 17:00Speaker 3: being kidnapped. And this young man who plays Bruce Leroy's brother,
- 17:05Speaker 3: God rest his soul.
- 17:06Speaker 2: He also passed away.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Uh, yells at the kidnapper, hey, get your hands off
- 17:12Speaker 3: my woman! And the dude looks at him like, you
- 17:14Speaker 3: gotta be fucking kidding me. And he gets even louder.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I said, get your hands off my woman!
- 17:21Speaker 3: And so when you got jealous about me kissing on Sarah,
- 17:24Speaker 3: it made me think.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Of, get your hands off my woman! I digress. I'm sorry.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Well, I don't know what to say to that long,
- 17:34Speaker 1: epic anecdote, but yes donald that is how i felt
- 17:38Speaker 1: i felt like get your hands off my woman now
- 17:43Speaker 1: i want to talk about movie kissing because um there's
- 17:46Speaker 1: times when you do a movie kiss and uh you
- 17:50Speaker 1: just sort of both open your mouths but there's no
- 17:52Speaker 1: tongue and then there's times when you do a movie
- 17:55Speaker 1: kiss and between the two actors it just you kind
- 17:58Speaker 1: of get lost in it and it becomes like a
- 18:00Speaker 1: real french kiss um I noticed that in yours, there
- 18:05Speaker 1: wasn't really any visible tongue.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, but there was a lot of lip,
- 18:10Speaker 3: which is also really sexy.
- 18:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 18:13Speaker 1: But I'm telling you that I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed because
- 18:16Speaker 1: in my sex scene, I'm embarrassed to tell you there's
- 18:19Speaker 1: a lot of visual tongue. And I don't think there
- 18:22Speaker 1: should be. I think it's too much. I think Amy
- 18:26Speaker 1: Smart and I got a little lost in the moment.
- 18:28Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 18:30Speaker 1: But I kind of cringed when I was like, oh, buddy,
- 18:33Speaker 1: nobody wants to be seeing tongues.
- 18:35Speaker 2: No, you know what?
- 18:36Speaker 3: There was a moment in time where that was sexy.
- 18:38Speaker 3: And when in movies, you kind of woo.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I can rationalize it a little bit, though. It was
- 18:44Speaker 1: so naughty and so taboo. We're literally fucking in the
- 18:48Speaker 1: storage closet of the funeral home where her husband.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Is being put in a coffin. Laid to rest. Laid
- 18:56Speaker 2: to rest.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Laid to rest. And so it was so wrong and
- 19:00Speaker 1: taboo and up against the wall and just like, it
- 19:04Speaker 1: wasn't making love, it was fucking. And so there was
- 19:08Speaker 1: this extra passion and hunger.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah, not only that, the fact that JD decides to
- 19:18Speaker 3: mask or deceive the people who hear Amy Smart's character
- 19:24Speaker 3: moan in the closet as if, Something fell on his,
- 19:30Speaker 3: something hit his hand or something like that?
- 19:32Speaker 1: Is that what it was? Amy's character has an orgasm
- 19:35Speaker 1: and she lets out this loud yell and then I
- 19:40Speaker 1: come out and say, something fell on my foot. And
- 19:44Speaker 1: then I recreate her orgasm being like, oh.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Pretty perfectly, too. But it's not like you didn't go, oh.
- 19:53Speaker 2: It was like, oh. Like, it was like.
- 19:57Speaker 1: That's funny. It's like, I tell everyone at the funeral home, like, oh,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. Something fell on my foot. And then
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm like, I was like, oh.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Oh.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Oh.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Oh. oh my god that was so naughty for i
- 20:13Speaker 1: mean think about what we're doing on fucking primetime nbc
- 20:17Speaker 1: back in the day i i'm still shocked this was
- 20:19Speaker 1: 20 years ago yeah i feel like now that would
- 20:22Speaker 1: be like not something you put in primetime on nbc
- 20:25Speaker 1: but i don't know.
- 20:27Speaker 3: It was good it was funny well you got to
- 20:29Speaker 3: remember there weren't all of these other.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Networks at the time.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Streaming services.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 20:35Speaker 1: I always say that. And Bill was trying to push
- 20:37Speaker 1: the envelope of what you could do. But man, did he.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I mean, I just can't imagine. We hear about people's
- 20:43Speaker 1: kids watching Scrubs nowadays on Hulu or wherever they're finding it.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And I remember Matt Tarsus, who's one of our friends
- 20:49Speaker 1: and writers, said that he walked into the room and
- 20:51Speaker 1: his kids were watching Scrubs. And he circled right back
- 20:54Speaker 1: and walked out because it was something so risque like this.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I just can't imagine you Your kids are watching us
- 21:00Speaker 1: all bang.
- 21:01Speaker 2: The whole cold opening is hilarious, man.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So good. It's a great episode.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I laughed really hard.
- 21:08Speaker 3: I mean, when you look at it, you know, the
- 21:11Speaker 3: whole massage thing and how Jordan wants him to watch
- 21:14Speaker 3: the kids so she can get a massage.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I can relate to that. Everybody needs a massage, you
- 21:18Speaker 2: know what I mean? Yeah. You know what I mean? Also,
- 21:21Speaker 2: Johnny looking like baby Lex Luthor. That had me rolling,
- 21:24Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 21:25Speaker 1: That was funny.
- 21:25Speaker 2: He looked like Lex Luthor was a baby. Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 3: And, you know, anyway, Todd deciding, you know, that he
- 21:32Speaker 3: was going to take a Tuesday after he worked out
- 21:34Speaker 3: instead of before he worked out.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So just to remind those of you who didn't watch it,
- 21:39Speaker 1: it's really clever. They present all the lead characters with
- 21:42Speaker 1: some sort of thing they're doing. Kelso's in tight shoes.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Todd doesn't know if he wants the dookie before or
- 21:48Speaker 1: after his workout.
- 21:50Speaker 3: The janitor is defibrillating, pretending he's a doctor and is
- 21:53Speaker 3: defibrillating a mop dressed up like a patient.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and Aloma, Nurse Roberts is repairing a copy machine.
- 22:00Speaker 1: And all these people have their own things they're involved in.
- 22:04Speaker 1: And then it all culminates with everyone screaming for a
- 22:08Speaker 1: different reason. It was so, so clever the way that
- 22:12Speaker 1: was all done.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Very clever. I laughed so hard at Kelso looking at
- 22:15Speaker 2: his foot with the blood. After the shoes were too small.
- 22:19Speaker 1: What about Sam Lloyd? Sam Lloyd in the mirror. He
- 22:22Speaker 1: looks in the mirror. He hasn't looked in the mirror
- 22:24Speaker 1: at himself in a long time and he screams at himself. Oh, man.
- 22:28Speaker 1: A really, really good episode. And so many things. It's
- 22:31Speaker 1: another one. God, season two was great. I got to say,
- 22:35Speaker 1: we really hit our stride here because there's so many things.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I mean, we'll get to them all, but there's a
- 22:39Speaker 1: whole bunch of things in this episode that are like
- 22:42Speaker 1: really memorable moments from all nine years. So I really
- 22:46Speaker 1: liked my fall down the stairs.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I wrote that down. Great pratfall.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 22:51Speaker 2: For the cold open also.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Really took a dive. That was a nice one.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I wish they didn't cut away from me. I mean,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I wish they had done the classic JD fall and
- 23:00Speaker 1: then pop back up because they cut to Amy's reaction.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Of course, it makes sense to cut to her reaction, but.
- 23:07Speaker 1: You could have easily have just done me big fall,
- 23:09Speaker 1: obviously hit a mat without anyone seeing and then pop
- 23:12Speaker 1: right back up like nothing happened.
- 23:14Speaker 3: But I mean, there's a bunch of moments in that
- 23:18Speaker 3: whole scene where it's jokes that are similar to that,
- 23:22Speaker 3: where it's like misleading, where she's like, you want to
- 23:25Speaker 3: go get a drink?
- 23:25Speaker 2: And you're like, yeah, let's get out of here. You
- 23:28Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 23:28Speaker 1: Why is there a bar at this funeral home? First
- 23:31Speaker 1: of all, is there ever, have you ever been to
- 23:32Speaker 1: a funeral that wasn't, I know like at, at like
- 23:35Speaker 1: when people go back to their house, they have booze,
- 23:36Speaker 1: but like this funeral home has waiters serving booze. Is
- 23:40Speaker 1: that a thing?
- 23:40Speaker 2: I don't know that it is a thing. I've been
- 23:42Speaker 2: to a bar after a funeral.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Joelle, you look like you're thinking about it. Have you
- 23:45Speaker 1: ever been to a funeral where they served booze on trays?
- 23:50Speaker 1: I know that's what wakes do.
- 23:52Speaker 4: I would love to hear from our Irish fans. Is
- 23:54Speaker 4: this a horrible stereotype I've been taught as an American,
- 23:57Speaker 4: or do you guys actually do booze at your funerals?
- 24:01Speaker 1: No, I know when everyone goes home, we Jews have shiva,
- 24:05Speaker 1: and I know that other denominations have wakes, and there's
- 24:08Speaker 1: booze there. But not at the funeral. At the funeral.
- 24:12Speaker 1: There were waiters with trays.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I just don't think that would be a good thing
- 24:15Speaker 3: to do. You've seen some of the things that happen
- 24:17Speaker 3: at African-American funerals. I just couldn't imagine serving booze at
- 24:22Speaker 3: the funeral. Because, you know, shit jumps off, period. I
- 24:26Speaker 3: couldn't imagine liquor. Oh, my goodness gracious. I can't imagine liquor.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah. It would be a bad idea. Because, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 1: the people who have to speak would get up and get.
- 24:34Speaker 1: They're already emotional enough. They don't need booze to make them.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Nobody needs that. Nobody needs that.
- 24:39Speaker 4: No.
- 24:40Speaker 1: But it was funny. I mean, she goes, you should
- 24:42Speaker 1: get a drink. And I grab one off the tray.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And she goes, no, that guy's busing those drinks, JD.
- 24:48Speaker 1: You have to order from him. And I spit it
- 24:50Speaker 1: back up in my cup. And I go, somebody's a smoker.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I guess, does that mean he ashed in his drink?
- 24:58Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I think there was a cigarette butt in the drink.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I laughed. I laughed. I didn't even know what the
- 25:02Speaker 1: joke was. I didn't know if he had put his cigarette.
- 25:04Speaker 1: That happened to me once. I was a kid. And
- 25:07Speaker 1: I reached for a Coke can I thought was was mine,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and I chugged it, and it had been like someone's
- 25:13Speaker 1: ashtray for like a week.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Oh, gosh.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Whoa. Now, you know I'm a fan of the lip bite.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I've mentioned that as it pertains to Alicia Silverstone in Clueless.
- 25:27Speaker 1: By the way, Flo was watching Clueless on the plane.
- 25:30Speaker 1: She had never seen it.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Get out of here.
- 25:33Speaker 1: There you go, Donald.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Big ups. Did she like it?
- 25:38Speaker 1: Well, I wasn't watching with her, but I saw her laughing,
- 25:41Speaker 1: and we were talking about some of your finest moments.
- 25:45Speaker 1: But speaking of Alicia Silverstone and lip bites, Amy Smart
- 25:49Speaker 1: does an epic lip bite at 350. I don't know
- 25:51Speaker 1: if you caught that. It's kind of what kicks everything off.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I'm trying to be respectful at the funeral, and she
- 25:57Speaker 1: does like a big old classic Alicia Silverstone lip bite.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And then you guys crash into the wall.
- 26:02Speaker 1: And then it hard cuts to banging in the closet.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Do you think anyone's ever had sex during a funeral? Absolutely.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Really?
- 26:14Speaker 2: Absolutely, yes.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Why? Because emotions are high?
- 26:19Speaker 3: No, because people... Yo, people, listen, man. Some people aren't
- 26:23Speaker 3: who they say they are also. Now, let's keep it 100.
- 26:27Speaker 3: And some people are who they say they are.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 26:30Speaker 3: There are people that have been at the funeral and
- 26:32Speaker 3: have buried their spouse at that moment and was having
- 26:37Speaker 3: sex within five seconds of the spouse at the funeral.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I don't think this is something that has never happened before.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I'm sure this has happened several times. I don't think
- 26:48Speaker 3: this is statistically. I'm sure this is something that has
- 26:51Speaker 3: happened often.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Well, if you're someone who knows of sex at a funeral,
- 26:55Speaker 1: please write us on our social medias or email Joelle because...
- 26:59Speaker 1: We would love to have you on the show. We
- 27:02Speaker 1: don't want any liars, so it's the honor system. But
- 27:05Speaker 1: we would love to hear the tale of how you...
- 27:07Speaker 1: banged at a funeral by the way one of my
- 27:09Speaker 1: favorite lines in Scrubs history and I know Bill loves this.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Line oh my god no we don't I don't want
- 27:13Speaker 3: to hear the tale of how someone banged at a funeral.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I do I do oh my god you guys are.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Crazy I do I want to hear all the gossip
- 27:22Speaker 1: of Michael Loma in this episode who's sliding all.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Around the hospital right all over the place.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Oh my god Nurse Roberts is so funny in this
- 27:28Speaker 1: episode anytime there's gossip she rolls up in her chair
- 27:31Speaker 1: and they speed it up so she's like also I
- 27:36Speaker 1: just wanted to say that uh I always love this line,
- 27:39Speaker 1: and I know Bill loves this line because we've quoted
- 27:41Speaker 1: it to each other when I go a little bit woody-ish. Jamie,
- 27:47Speaker 1: there are a lot of ways to grieve, but last
- 27:51Speaker 1: time I checked, wheelbarrow style wasn't one of them. Which
- 27:56Speaker 1: means that not only we didn't have like, we didn't
- 27:59Speaker 1: even have just like standing up against the wall sex.
- 28:02Speaker 1: We got to like wheelbarrow style.
- 28:04Speaker 2: You guys had dirty sex earlier.
- 28:07Speaker 3: You guys, in the closet at the funeral, you guys
- 28:10Speaker 3: were doing freaking tricks.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Can you imagine? We were like, we weren't just like, oh,
- 28:14Speaker 1: let's have a quickie against the wall. We were like, okay,
- 28:17Speaker 1: now let's do a wheelbarrow style.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Right, right, right, right, right, right. This is a girl
- 28:20Speaker 2: in a handstand?
- 28:20Speaker 3: Like, it just gets out of control. It just gets
- 28:22Speaker 3: out of control like freaking Team America. Like, it starts
- 28:25Speaker 3: off and you're like, oh, the puppets are having sex.
- 28:28Speaker 3: And then they start doing weird poses. And then he
- 28:31Speaker 3: sits on the puppet. Like, and the puppet sits on
- 28:33Speaker 3: the other puppet.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Like, it's just... I've got to watch that movie again,
- 28:37Speaker 1: but I do remember when the puppets shit on each other.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I thought it was the funniest thing I've ever seen.
- 28:41Speaker 1: But I think– Joelle, are you asking what wheelbarrow style is?
- 28:44Speaker 4: Listen, because when you– when I saw your hand motion,
- 28:48Speaker 4: which was essentially like a wheelbarrow race, like you've got
- 28:50Speaker 4: her by the hips.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I think I'm holding– yeah, I think I'm holding– she,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I think, as I understand wheelbarrow style– is the receiver
- 28:59Speaker 1: of the wheelbarrow style has their hands, no, Dan's getting it.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I'll do it for you. You've got your hands on
- 29:07Speaker 1: a desk like this, like I have, and then the
- 29:09Speaker 1: person who's giving the wheelbarrow would be holding up the
- 29:12Speaker 1: legs maybe by the thighs, so they're kind of in
- 29:15Speaker 1: a plank. The person receiving is sort of in a
- 29:17Speaker 1: plank position, Joelle.
- 29:19Speaker 4: This is so much more impressive because you guys were
- 29:20Speaker 4: doing it in a closet.
- 29:24Speaker 1: During her husband's funeral.
- 29:28Speaker 2: With mops.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Jamie, there's a lot of ways to grieve, but I'm
- 29:31Speaker 1: pretty sure that wheelbarrow style isn't one of them.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Fantastic.
- 29:37Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Okay, so then... And then, dude.
- 29:40Speaker 1: The janitor's penis.
- 29:42Speaker 2: How the hell? How the hell does that.
- 29:45Speaker 3: What luck JD has that in the middle of driving.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Home, he realizes....
- 29:52Speaker 3: I got, he, he, no, he, he, he realized, oh shit,
- 29:54Speaker 3: I got a piss. Why didn't I take the pee
- 29:55Speaker 3: before I left? But the luck of him running up
- 29:58Speaker 3: to a house and it being the janitor's house and
- 30:02Speaker 3: not only the janitor's house, but the janitor's bathroom window
- 30:06Speaker 3: where he's showering.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 1: It's a little bit of a coincidence, but we got
- 30:10Speaker 1: to take a break. We're gonna be right back to
- 30:12Speaker 1: talk about the janitor's penis. We'll be right back.
- 30:21Speaker 2: And we're back!
- 30:23Speaker 1: So we know a couple things. It's safe to assume
- 30:25Speaker 1: that the janitor has a very large penis.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the head movement that J.D. makes, you know how
- 30:32Speaker 3: to insinuate that it's long. He does the old tilt
- 30:36Speaker 3: the head to insinuate that it's long.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Right. Now we know that he sees a potentially dangerous
- 30:44Speaker 1: melanoma on the janitor's penis. But of course, it's of
- 30:47Speaker 1: course a TV show. The odds that J.D. has to
- 30:49Speaker 1: pull over and take a piss... outside the janitor's bathroom window.
- 30:54Speaker 1: We'll allow that to happen. We'll go with the, what's
- 30:59Speaker 1: that word I'm thinking of? Suspend our disbelief. Creative license?
- 31:02Speaker 1: Say we'll suspend our disbelief or whatever. Yes, but isn't
- 31:05Speaker 1: that the term creative license? Isn't that a term too?
- 31:07Speaker 6: Sure.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Okay. Anyway, so we'll allow that. Suspension of disbelief is
- 31:11Speaker 1: probably a better.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Way to say it.
- 31:13Speaker 3: And it works for the joke later on where JD
- 31:15Speaker 3: has to explain to him.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Oh, my God. That dialogue is so funny. I think
- 31:20Speaker 1: it's on Scrubs Wiki. Let me just try and read
- 31:22Speaker 1: it to you because the wording is so funny. I go,
- 31:29Speaker 1: I got to be straight with you. I saw your
- 31:30Speaker 1: penis and I noticed a possible melanoma that you should
- 31:33Speaker 1: really have checked out. He says, when did you see
- 31:35Speaker 1: my penis? I say, last night when you were showering.
- 31:40Speaker 1: He says, where were you? I say, I was outside
- 31:44Speaker 1: in the bushes. And he goes, uh, and I go, look,
- 31:48Speaker 1: it was a coincidence, man. I mean, if you'd looked
- 31:51Speaker 1: out the window, you'd have seen my penis, you know?
- 31:53Speaker 1: And he goes, what? Why? And he goes, and I go,
- 31:56Speaker 1: because I had it out while I was looking at yours.
- 32:06Speaker 1: oh my god that's so funny so funny so but
- 32:12Speaker 1: we have a nice it leads to a nice moment
- 32:13Speaker 1: of course one of the greatest jokes in Scrubs history
- 32:17Speaker 1: don't worry it's benign and he goes benign benign and
- 32:21Speaker 1: a half yeah I don't know who wrote that joke
- 32:25Speaker 1: in the Scrubs writers room but I'm very proud of
- 32:27Speaker 1: them but actually becomes a nice moment with the janitor
- 32:29Speaker 1: it feels like it's the first moment where he genuinely thanks.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Me yeah yeah Sure.
- 32:35Speaker 1: And then I thank him and he goes, get your
- 32:36Speaker 1: hand off me.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Then it's back to normal.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Turk smacks Elliot on the ass.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Now, I have a question about that. That's clearly a
- 32:46Speaker 1: Turk fantasy. Do other characters often have fantasies besides JD?
- 32:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it happens. We've had this conversation before. Yeah.
- 32:57Speaker 1: It's not often, but it's occasional.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Occasionally, one of the other cast members will fantasize something else.
- 33:04Speaker 1: So you're still, Turk is still fucking horny for Elliot.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Dude, have you ever had a sex dream about anyone?
- 33:13Speaker 1: Of course, but I'm saying that it wasn't like- And
- 33:15Speaker 1: then after you.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Had the sex dream about said person, what happened?
- 33:20Speaker 1: I thought about them the next day. And that's clearly
- 33:23Speaker 1: what's happened with Turk. He's staring at Elliot longingly. And
- 33:27Speaker 1: then he fantasizes that she's bending over. And Sarah, by
- 33:31Speaker 1: the way, Sarah really leaned into the naughtiest in this.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like Sarah Chalk, the actress, often
- 33:36Speaker 1: plays like the goody two-shoes girl. And now in this,
- 33:40Speaker 1: they were like, we need you to just be randy
- 33:43Speaker 1: and crazy. And she was like, okay. Because she's like
- 33:47Speaker 1: bending over and putting her butt in the air.
- 33:50Speaker 3: See, this whole episode is like a temptation by the
- 33:55Speaker 3: dark side, man. It's like, even the conversations that we're
- 33:59Speaker 3: having right now about the episode, everything is turning towards,
- 34:06Speaker 3: you know, things that we're trying to not talk about.
- 34:10Speaker 3: And I think we need to just let it aside
- 34:13Speaker 3: and say this is the episode that we talk about
- 34:16Speaker 3: the shit. Because what you just said, look, I can't,
- 34:19Speaker 3: I don't want to combat what, I think that, Turk
- 34:23Speaker 3: definitely still after the day was over and had gone
- 34:28Speaker 3: on into being married to Carla, there were times where
- 34:33Speaker 3: he was like, let me go to the mental Rolodex.
- 34:37Speaker 3: And there was that time where I fantasized about Elliot.
- 34:42Speaker 2: You know what I mean? On times when him and
- 34:44Speaker 2: Carla aren't on the same page. You know what I mean?
- 34:47Speaker 3: I definitely feel like, you know, I feel like, That's
- 34:52Speaker 3: what fantasies are for. I feel like that's what's supposed
- 34:55Speaker 3: to happen.
- 34:56Speaker 1: But would you get jealous? Like if Casey told you,
- 35:00Speaker 1: oh my God, babe, I had this incredible sex dream
- 35:03Speaker 1: about some celebrity, would you be jealous?
- 35:05Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
- 35:06Speaker 3: But I would think she would be jealous about me
- 35:08Speaker 3: having sex dreams about someone.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Right. Like that's the thing, man.
- 35:12Speaker 3: This whole episode, it's like the fact that Turk decided
- 35:14Speaker 3: to tell Elliot about the dream, that's crossing the line
- 35:18Speaker 3: right there. You're supposed to keep that to yourself, man.
- 35:20Speaker 3: You're not supposed to go into that. Especially the person.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I mean, who would ever tell the person? You told
- 35:27Speaker 1: the person.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And then told her to keep it a secret. Like,
- 35:30Speaker 2: and don't tell Carla.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Like, come on, man. What are you trying to get
- 35:34Speaker 2: out of this? What is it that you're going for?
- 35:37Speaker 1: I think if the person isn't threatening, it's one thing.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Like if your girlfriend was like, oh, I had a
- 35:42Speaker 1: sex dream about someone and it was kind of funny
- 35:44Speaker 1: and it wasn't someone that you would necessarily feel like
- 35:46Speaker 1: jealous of or something, it'd be one thing.
- 35:48Speaker 2: I'd be jealous of anyone. I'd be jealous. I think
- 35:51Speaker 2: I'd be jealous of anyone, though.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Well, actually, Carla has a sex dream about Sam Lloyd.
- 35:56Speaker 3: And I don't think she would tell Turk because Turk
- 35:58Speaker 3: would definitely be like, wait a second, you have feelings
- 36:00Speaker 3: for Sam?
- 36:02Speaker 6: The lawyer?
- 36:02Speaker 2: I mean, for the lawyer? You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 36:05Speaker 1: So keep it to yourself. That's the message we're telling
- 36:08Speaker 1: you here at Fake Doctors. If you dream about having
- 36:11Speaker 1: a sex dream with someone that isn't your partner, maybe
- 36:14Speaker 1: just keep it to yourself.
- 36:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Now, if you don't have a partner and you're trying
- 36:20Speaker 3: to start something, go for yours, man.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Shoot.
- 36:22Speaker 2: I don't know if that's.
- 36:23Speaker 1: A good pickup line. Like, hey, I had a sex
- 36:25Speaker 1: dream about you.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Some people want to hear that shit.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I know, but it might be too good.
- 36:29Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest with you. Okay, let me
- 36:31Speaker 3: just say this. And this is why I disagree with
- 36:34Speaker 3: what you just said.
- 36:35Speaker 6: If.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I was a single man.
- 36:38Speaker 4: And.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Impossible. Let's say... Let's say... Right.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Impossible.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Impossible.
- 36:43Speaker 3: But if I was a single man, and KC's first
- 36:46Speaker 3: thing she ever said to me when we met was,
- 36:51Speaker 3: I had a sex dream about you last night.
- 36:53Speaker 2: That shit would work on me. In a heart... Of course.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Of course.
- 36:57Speaker 2: So then what are you talking about? Nobody wants to
- 36:59Speaker 2: hear that shit. I think.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe it's different coming from a woman.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I just feel like if a man's pickup line to
- 37:04Speaker 1: a woman was... You know, I had a sex dream.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I mean, it'd be like creepy.
- 37:08Speaker 2: It depends on who the woman is. It depends on
- 37:10Speaker 2: who the man is.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Yes.
- 37:12Speaker 2: There it is. That too. There we go.
- 37:14Speaker 4: And how and when and how far into our relationship.
- 37:17Speaker 4: A lot of factors.
- 37:18Speaker 2: A good one.
- 37:19Speaker 1: It just feels like it really has the potential to
- 37:23Speaker 1: step into inappropriate territory unless you have a good relationship
- 37:27Speaker 1: and you're close and you can, yeah.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Or if you just want to shoot your shot.
- 37:33Speaker 1: If you want to shoot your shot, I think it's
- 37:35Speaker 1: a bad shot to take. I think it's horrible.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Some people don't have filters and are like, I'm going
- 37:40Speaker 3: to shoot my shot.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I know exactly what to say.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Good luck with that one. Just be prepared to accept
- 37:46Speaker 1: the rejection.
- 37:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:49Speaker 3: And also be a parent to hear from human resources.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Okay, but now, okay, so now, right. Well, that's at work.
- 37:55Speaker 2: We're talking about at work and stuff like that.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Well, I'm just talking about in life. I think it's
- 37:59Speaker 1: a pretty stupid shot to take if that's your shot. Now,
- 38:01Speaker 1: let's say you guys are grooving and you smooch a
- 38:04Speaker 1: little and then you're like, hey, can I tell you
- 38:07Speaker 1: something kind of embarrassing? But since we're kissing, I've had
- 38:11Speaker 1: the craziest dream about you. That's different. Agreed.
- 38:15Speaker 2: No, I disagree.
- 38:16Speaker 6: What are you smiling at?
- 38:17Speaker 2: I disagree. I think this is all.
- 38:18Speaker 1: I think that's a horrible shot to take.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Dude, I didn't say it was the right shot. I
- 38:23Speaker 3: just said unless you want to shoot your shot and
- 38:25Speaker 3: this is your steez.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I don't think it's wrong.
- 38:28Speaker 3: To ask somebody out on a date or to express
- 38:33Speaker 3: your feelings to someone.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I would never say yes to that.
- 38:36Speaker 2: But, but, but....
- 38:39Speaker 3: There's definitely a way to do it that will get
- 38:46Speaker 3: the attention that you are looking for. And there's a
- 38:49Speaker 3: way to get the attention that you're not looking for.
- 38:55Speaker 3: And I feel like go for yours.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Period.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:03Speaker 5: Word.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I don't know how to dismount this conversation. I don't
- 39:08Speaker 1: know how either, man. Let's talk about the Germans. Let's
- 39:10Speaker 1: talk about the Germans. There's a lot of, I mean,
- 39:12Speaker 1: probably the gif I see most throughout the creation of
- 39:16Speaker 1: gifs is the 99 Luftballons dance with me and the German. Yes. Now,
- 39:24Speaker 1: people love that. 99 Luftballons.
- 39:27Speaker 2: You know why I love that song? I love that
- 39:29Speaker 2: song because John Forte made the remake.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. Me and my ba-da-da-da-da-da. Flip the dough with
- 39:42Speaker 3: the money we got. The block stays hot. Da-da-da-da-da-da.
- 39:46Speaker 2: And something's out there.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Yo, that shit is fire, man.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I remember.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that was.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Well, it was back in the day when everybody was
- 40:02Speaker 3: sampling something. And John Forte had that. That's my introduction
- 40:06Speaker 3: to that song. I didn't know that song before that.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Well, this is the German version. Now, there's some really
- 40:10Speaker 1: funny stuff. Now, obviously, if you watch the show, you
- 40:13Speaker 1: know that Sarah speaks German very well. And There's some
- 40:17Speaker 1: very funny stuff about these two actors on Scrubs Wiki.
- 40:22Speaker 1: It says, viewers fluent in German have noted that Sarah
- 40:26Speaker 1: Chalk actually speaks much better German in the episode than
- 40:29Speaker 1: the German characters. And then they say neither of the
- 40:33Speaker 1: actors playing the Mueller or Mueller, whatever his brother's actually
- 40:37Speaker 1: spoke German. Soren Hellerup is Danish. And while Ingo Newhouse
- 40:41Speaker 1: has a German name and was born in Germany, he
- 40:44Speaker 1: grew up in America. Both mostly deliver their lines phonetically
- 40:48Speaker 1: with multiple grammatical errors. So I thought that was funny
- 40:52Speaker 1: that Sarah, who speaks German really well, I don't know
- 40:55Speaker 1: why the hell they couldn't find two guys who were
- 40:58Speaker 1: fluent in German in Hollywood, but I guess they couldn't.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And Sarah's German is way better than the two actors.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Don't you think that's funny?
- 41:07Speaker 3: It would be even funnier if the two guys pulled
- 41:11Speaker 3: one over on the casting directors. and pretended that they
- 41:16Speaker 3: were speaking German in the audition and they.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Got the point.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Right, or just said they speak German.
- 41:20Speaker 3: And then when they got there and they're doing this
- 41:22Speaker 3: shit and neither one of them is reacting, they're like,
- 41:24Speaker 3: there's a moment where it's like, oh, we're on the safe.
- 41:27Speaker 3: It's like when I told you I took all of
- 41:28Speaker 3: those dance classes last week. I mean, last episode, I
- 41:31Speaker 3: only took like two or three dance classes and that
- 41:35Speaker 3: was enough to put it on my resume. So I
- 41:37Speaker 3: imagine those guys like, I'm fluent in German and really
- 41:40Speaker 3: all they could speak were a few.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Actors always do that. They're like, can you ride horseback? Well,
- 41:44Speaker 1: and they're like, Sure.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Sure.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I have been on a horse. Right.
- 41:51Speaker 2: The real answer is, did I get the job?
- 41:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:53Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Can you ride a horse?
- 41:55Speaker 2: Did I get the job?
- 41:56Speaker 1: It's so hard to get a job as an actor
- 41:58Speaker 1: when someone's like, okay, great audition. You do speak German fluently, right?
- 42:02Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Sure I do.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Because you're like, we'll worry about that later. We'll worry
- 42:07Speaker 1: about that horseback riding later.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll get to that part. That's when you call
- 42:11Speaker 3: your friend up right away. All right, I need you
- 42:13Speaker 3: to teach me everything I know about German. Everything you know.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I remember when I was a kid, I was up
- 42:17Speaker 1: for a part as a kid, and it was to
- 42:19Speaker 1: be on a hockey team, and they were like, you
- 42:21Speaker 1: play hockey, right? And I'm like, yes, I do. I
- 42:26Speaker 1: love hockey. I love all the positions. Yeah, so anyway,
- 42:35Speaker 1: I just think it's funny that of all the actors
- 42:37Speaker 1: in Hollywood, they found two guys. Now, we wouldn't know,
- 42:40Speaker 1: of course, unless you speak German. Another funny thing about
- 42:43Speaker 1: this is Scrubs was very popular– In Germany. So they
- 42:48Speaker 1: had to figure out, well, if all the acting about it,
- 42:50Speaker 1: if all the actors in the show are dubbed in German,
- 42:54Speaker 1: in Germany, what do you do with this, this bilingual moment?
- 42:58Speaker 1: So it says that in the German translation of the episode,
- 43:02Speaker 1: the Germans are Danes and Elliot speaks Danish.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Oh, wait. So hold on then.
- 43:08Speaker 1: So, so no, no, it's just, it's just how they
- 43:10Speaker 1: dubbed it, you know, because in Germany, I believe they dub,
- 43:13Speaker 1: they don't subtitle. So the point is that, okay, so
- 43:16Speaker 1: in the German version, everyone's German. So you can't have
- 43:19Speaker 1: a bit with the guy not speaking the language everyone's speaking.
- 43:21Speaker 1: So they just dubbed that section as Danish.
- 43:25Speaker 2: If they should have dubbed it as American, that would
- 43:27Speaker 2: have been funny.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess. Could have. Could have. And on that note, y'all,
- 43:38Speaker 1: we're going to go to break.
- 43:39Speaker 3: We got someone coming in.
- 43:42Speaker 2: We don't know who it is, but they're coming in.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Hold on. Let's hope this guest is better, Joelle. I mean,
- 43:47Speaker 1: it was a horrible, horrible, horrible.
- 43:48Speaker 2: It was not good.
- 43:49Speaker 1: I agree.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Dude, hold on. Guys, guys, let's not say horrible, horrible.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Let's just say horrible.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Not the usual fake doctor, real friend type of guest.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Well, you know, I saw a lot of our listeners' comments,
- 44:02Speaker 1: and I really agree. They were like, that was cringe. Why?
- 44:06Speaker 1: What's wrong with that woman?
- 44:07Speaker 2: Guys, no.
- 44:08Speaker 3: See, but that's bullying, man. There's nothing wrong with that woman.
- 44:11Speaker 3: She's got her own life, yo. She was doing her thing.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I'm not bullying her, but she took a slot from
- 44:16Speaker 1: someone who's campaigning. We had that one guy on. He
- 44:18Speaker 1: writes every day. And she took a slot. And something
- 44:23Speaker 1: she wasn't interested in.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I don't think it was horrible.
- 44:26Speaker 3: I just think it was not the fake doctor's real
- 44:29Speaker 3: friend call that we're used to.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I don't like it when our guests are cringy. I mean,
- 44:33Speaker 1: there was talk for a second about, should we just
- 44:35Speaker 1: cut it out? But I wanted to just leave it
- 44:39Speaker 1: so that people know that we don't really like, like
- 44:41Speaker 1: even when things don't work, we want to like just
- 44:43Speaker 1: show it. But we could have just cut it out.
- 44:45Speaker 1: It was so cringe.
- 44:46Speaker 4: It was not great.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Joelle, did you slam the mug on the ground?
- 44:49Speaker 4: I did. It shattered in a million pieces.
- 44:51Speaker 6: Okay, good.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Good. Thank you. Send her the pieces.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Speaking of mugs, holy cow.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. A lot of merch. A lot of merch coming.
- 44:56Speaker 2: New merch up, y'all. All right. So check it out. Oh, wait.
- 45:00Speaker 1: The merch is up, by the way. By the time
- 45:02Speaker 1: this airs, there'll be a t-shirt up.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Masks are back.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Mugs are restocked.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Mugs are restocked. T-shirts are in the house. Now, I
- 45:14Speaker 2: want you.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Guys to know, I know we promised a lot of
- 45:16Speaker 1: wacky ideas for merch, and some of that's coming. Washcloths,
- 45:20Speaker 1: beach towels with me and Donald's faces on it are coming.
- 45:23Speaker 1: But just to kind of get the store up and running,
- 45:25Speaker 1: we've just got some standard stuff. The t-shirt you'll see
- 45:28Speaker 1: is our logo. But I don't want you saying like, oh,
- 45:31Speaker 1: but what about all the wacky stuff you promised? In time.
- 45:34Speaker 1: We've got to open up the store. I don't know
- 45:36Speaker 1: about the I Doc Leo t-shirt. Probably won't clear legal. But...
- 45:42Speaker 1: Unless we just do the Leo astrological sign, and only
- 45:45Speaker 1: the insiders will know.
- 45:46Speaker 2: And know also this, yo.
- 45:50Speaker 1: What if we did? Wait, wait, Donald. What if we did?
- 45:52Speaker 2: As I was saying this, that is nuts, and that
- 45:57Speaker 2: is subliminal. Subliminal.
- 45:59Speaker 1: You added an extra syllable there.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I'm worried. That is subliminal.
- 46:04Speaker 6: Yes.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Subliminable. Subliminable.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I like subliminable. Subliminable. Subliminable.
- 46:08Speaker 2: I like subliminable better. Subliminable.
- 46:09Speaker 1: That sounds like mushroom mouth. Mushroom mouth.
- 46:11Speaker 2: No, because it would be subliminable. I can't do it. Subliminable.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I like it.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Let me just finish what the shirt would be. It
- 46:19Speaker 1: would be the word, it would say I, apostrophe D, eyed.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Then there'd be the icon of like a dock, like
- 46:25Speaker 1: a traditional dock on a lake. And then the Leo
- 46:28Speaker 1: astrological star. I'd dock Leo. Nah, man.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I don't want to do that. I don't want to
- 46:33Speaker 2: do that at all. I would like to do that.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I don't want to do that. But I will say this.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I will say this. I'm going to make a one-off
- 46:37Speaker 1: for me.
- 46:38Speaker 3: I will say this. Speaking of one-offs, I will say this.
- 46:43Speaker 3: We're not going to make a bunch of these things now.
- 46:46Speaker 1: So....
- 46:47Speaker 2: A lot of this stuff is limited. We're going to
- 46:49Speaker 2: try and.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Come up with- You're saying get it while it's hot
- 46:51Speaker 1: is what you're saying.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Get it while it's hot. We're going to try and
- 46:53Speaker 3: come out with new things like it's a season. So
- 46:56Speaker 3: this season's mug might not be next season's mug. And
- 47:00Speaker 3: this season's mask might not be next season's mask.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what next season's mug is. Danil
- 47:07Speaker 1: and Joel.
- 47:09Speaker 2: I love that. I love it.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah.
- 47:11Speaker 2: But you guys got to do the same pose that
- 47:13Speaker 2: we're doing.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys got to snuggle on. You're going to
- 47:16Speaker 1: have to wear masks or something or Photoshop.
- 47:19Speaker 4: No problem.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Oh, guys. I can't wait to hang out. You guys
- 47:23Speaker 1: realize when the apocalypse is over, we're going to all
- 47:27Speaker 1: be able to be in a studio together doing this.
- 47:29Speaker 1: It'll be so much more fun.
- 47:30Speaker 4: I've never had a video of the first time we meet. Oh,
- 47:33Speaker 4: my gosh.
- 47:34Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 47:35Speaker 3: You know what I'm excited about? The studio to be
- 47:37Speaker 3: stacked with like Kit Kats and We do.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Have the best snacks. You don't even know what you're
- 47:43Speaker 1: talking about.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Twizzlers.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm trying to get this fish and chips off my hips.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt.
- 47:48Speaker 3: But when you go to the studio to record, that's
- 47:50Speaker 3: where all the good snacks are.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Donald, don't you fret at all. Our studio, oh my gosh,
- 47:57Speaker 1: that was a place. It was guaranteed stocked. One of
- 48:01Speaker 1: my British friends said to me, you know, Zach, you don't,
- 48:03Speaker 1: just because you're here, it doesn't mean that you have
- 48:06Speaker 1: to have fish and chips for every meal.
- 48:09Speaker 2: Oh, did you eat like that?
- 48:10Speaker 1: And I said, why would I eat something that's not
- 48:12Speaker 1: fish and chips? I was in New York. I had
- 48:14Speaker 1: a bagel with lox and cream cheese every single morning
- 48:17Speaker 1: because it was like, why am I not going to
- 48:18Speaker 1: do that? Why am I not? And we don't have
- 48:21Speaker 1: fish and chips on every corner here in Los Angeles.
- 48:25Speaker 1: All right. We're going to go to break and we're
- 48:26Speaker 1: going to come back with a caller that is going
- 48:28Speaker 1: to blow your fucking mind. They're so good.
- 48:30Speaker 4: Oh, God. Oh, wow.
- 48:39Speaker 1: And we're back!
- 48:40Speaker 2: But look, man.
- 48:42Speaker 3: During the break, we were talking about The Mandalorian and
- 48:44Speaker 3: stuff like that. I'm going to tell you guys something
- 48:46Speaker 3: right now. The Mandalorian is good, and I'm really excited
- 48:49Speaker 3: about it. But there's one show that I'm equally excited about.
- 48:53Speaker 3: And that is Cobra Kai season three, dude. I'm telling
- 48:56Speaker 3: y'all right now, man. Y'all can sit here and say
- 48:59Speaker 3: what you want to say. But me and the millions
- 49:02Speaker 3: of people that are enjoying this little tiny show that
- 49:04Speaker 3: is a little bit nostalgic and makes you feel like
- 49:07Speaker 3: you're watching the Karate Kid all over again. Cobra Kai
- 49:12Speaker 3: is so much fun. This is my second recommendation of
- 49:15Speaker 3: the episode.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Do they keep cutting back to the original movies?
- 49:20Speaker 3: There's a bit of the original movies in this. There's
- 49:22Speaker 3: a lot of the original movie in this, but it
- 49:26Speaker 3: takes place however many years to, you know, when Danny
- 49:30Speaker 3: won the California Karate Championship, it takes place however many
- 49:37Speaker 3: years it is to now It takes place to then.
- 49:39Speaker 2: And it doesn't follow Daniel LaRusso, really. It follows Johnny.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Rob Macho's not in it.
- 49:44Speaker 2: He's in it. But he's like the bad guy, dude.
- 49:47Speaker 2: He's like the dick.
- 49:49Speaker 1: What about Pat? Wait, is Pat Morita alive?
- 49:51Speaker 2: No, Pat Morita passed away.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know that. And what about other characters?
- 49:55Speaker 2: So Johnny is in it.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Elizabeth Shue. I asked about that last time.
- 49:59Speaker 2: They teased that she might be in the next season.
- 50:00Speaker 1: I don't know why she wouldn't do it.
- 50:02Speaker 3: But look, I'm telling you right now, man. It's about
- 50:04Speaker 3: Johnny and him trying to restart Cobra Kai. And it
- 50:09Speaker 3: is fucking so much fun. It's like got just the
- 50:12Speaker 3: right amount of cheese, just the right amount of nostalgia,
- 50:16Speaker 3: just the right amount of comedy that you sit there
- 50:19Speaker 3: and you laugh and enjoy yourself. So if you are
- 50:22Speaker 3: a Karate Kid fan, the original Karate Kid fan, and
- 50:26Speaker 3: it's executive produced by Will Smith.
- 50:28Speaker 2: So how can you hate on it, y'all? Will Smith's involved.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Oh, by the way, I heard they're going to do
- 50:34Speaker 1: a Fresh Prince Bel-Air reunion, and he and the aunt
- 50:38Speaker 1: that hate each other, they made up.
- 50:40Speaker 2: That's great. That's great.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I love how Donald never wants to comment on that.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Last time that came up, do you remember, Joel? I
- 50:46Speaker 1: have no idea what you're talking about. He doesn't want
- 50:48Speaker 1: to wait on that.
- 50:50Speaker 2: If you are a fan of the Karate Kid.
- 50:52Speaker 1: It's like on Howard Stern whenever. Cobra Kai.
- 50:55Speaker 2: No mercy. Mercy is for the weak.
- 50:58Speaker 1: It's like on Howard Stern, whenever mobsters come up and
- 51:01Speaker 1: like talking about mobsters, he always changes the subject. He's like,
- 51:03Speaker 1: I don't know anything about that, changing the subject. And
- 51:05Speaker 1: that's how Donald is about the Will Smith.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Mercy is for the weak.
- 51:08Speaker 1: And what's her name? Conflict. Shall I let the guest in? Yes, please.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Johnny Lawrence.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. Speaking of Johnny.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Daniel LaRusso.
- 51:22Speaker 1: All right, here we go. Here we go, Joelle. big
- 51:25Speaker 1: john john broadbent how are you sir.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Hi big john oh my god hi john hi john
- 51:34Speaker 3: how are you sir good good very good how are
- 51:37Speaker 3: you guys.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Welcome to the program uh we're very happy to have.
- 51:41Speaker 6: You thanks so much for having me tell us.
- 51:44Speaker 1: About yourself where are you what do you do what's
- 51:46Speaker 1: life like being john broadbent um.
- 51:50Speaker 6: I'm in a town called nelson in new zealand um Whoa.
- 51:56Speaker 6: Home of Lord of the Rings. Actually, home of the
- 51:59Speaker 6: one ring that was made here.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Amen.
- 52:03Speaker 6: And I.
- 52:04Speaker 2: But that was the ring to rule them all. So,
- 52:06Speaker 2: you know, hey.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 52:08Speaker 5: There's actually like a shop in town where you can
- 52:09Speaker 5: go like check it out and buy a copy of
- 52:11Speaker 5: it if you want.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Really?
- 52:13Speaker 6: Yeah, it's awesome.
- 52:16Speaker 5: And yeah, I just love watching your show.
- 52:19Speaker 6: We love listening to the podcast.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 52:22Speaker 6: Thank you, man.
- 52:24Speaker 1: This is exciting. We've never had a New Zealand caller.
- 52:27Speaker 1: What time is it there? It's probably Wednesday at some–
- 52:31Speaker 1: what time on Wednesday is it?
- 52:32Speaker 6: Correct. Wednesday at 9 o'clock in the morning.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Wow. Okay.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Holy cow.
- 52:37Speaker 6: Yeah, so sorry I'm not drinking. I've got to go
- 52:38Speaker 6: to work after this.
- 52:40Speaker 3: No, well, we're not drinking today either. Zach isn't drinking today.
- 52:43Speaker 3: I'm not drinking today.
- 52:44Speaker 5: No.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Joel's not drinking.
- 52:46Speaker 1: It's probably best if we don't drink.
- 52:49Speaker 3: We've decided that we're going to take a little break
- 52:51Speaker 3: from the drinking on the podcast.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Yeah, they involve too much editing when we drink. John,
- 52:57Speaker 1: what's tomorrow like?
- 53:02Speaker 6: What's tomorrow like? I wish I could tell you the
- 53:04Speaker 6: lotto numbers.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 53:07Speaker 6: And I wish I could tell you the sky would
- 53:08Speaker 6: clear for you guys. I'm really worried about that. I
- 53:10Speaker 6: hope everything works out there.
- 53:11Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Thank you.
- 53:13Speaker 3: Well, you guys experienced that too, didn't you? When the
- 53:15Speaker 3: fires were happening in Australia, didn't New Zealand get some
- 53:17Speaker 3: of that too?
- 53:18Speaker 6: Good call.
- 53:18Speaker 5: Actually, three years ago, two years ago, my whole town
- 53:21Speaker 5: was on fire and it was a bit scary for
- 53:24Speaker 5: a bit.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I didn't know that a bit of trivia that when
- 53:28Speaker 1: a horrible fire is happening in Australia, that it was
- 53:30Speaker 1: happening in New Zealand as well.
- 53:31Speaker 6: Yeah, it was a pretty long story.
- 53:35Speaker 5: The end result though was one fire was started by
- 53:38Speaker 5: a farmer, but there's like some copycat annoying person lit
- 53:42Speaker 5: some other ones and uh he was caught eventually but
- 53:45Speaker 5: he was caught by some nudists at a nudist.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Camp they probably wheelbarrowed him to the ground wheelbarrowed his
- 53:55Speaker 3: ass to the.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Ground definitely that's a good it's not only a good
- 53:57Speaker 1: way to have sex it's a good way to tackle
- 53:58Speaker 1: someone noted oh yeah write that down in your notes
- 54:03Speaker 1: there um I don't want anyone who's listening to this
- 54:07Speaker 1: to think that we don't teach you things. You can
- 54:09Speaker 1: wheelbarrow in multiple situations.
- 54:12Speaker 2: We've already fixed John's life.
- 54:14Speaker 3: Yeah, we didn't even have to.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Yeah, John, when all else fails, wheelbarrow it. John, what
- 54:20Speaker 1: do you do down there in New Zealand?
- 54:23Speaker 5: Full-time, I'm sort of an IT guy slash PA slash
- 54:28Speaker 5: airman for a realtor. On the side, I make T-shirts.
- 54:32Speaker 6: I actually.
- 54:33Speaker 5: inspired by the podcast and you guys going on about
- 54:35Speaker 5: wet i um i thought of a design i don't.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Know if you yeah oh i hope it's the one
- 54:40Speaker 1: i just mentioned.
- 54:41Speaker 6: Uh can you see.
- 54:43Speaker 1: That cat donkey oh wait long way around no no
- 54:48Speaker 1: no you're no oh yeah wet ass oh wet ass
- 54:52Speaker 1: pussy that's great we.
- 54:55Speaker 2: That's a wet ass.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Wait hold it up hold it up john So just
- 54:59Speaker 1: for you listening at home, it's an icon of some
- 55:02Speaker 1: water droplets, an icon of a donkey or ass, and
- 55:06Speaker 1: an icon of a cat. I would love to have
- 55:09Speaker 1: one of those if you want to send it to
- 55:10Speaker 1: my way.
- 55:11Speaker 6: I will. I haven't printed one yet, but you can have.
- 55:14Speaker 1: The first one. We listen to that song a lot
- 55:16Speaker 1: in my house. It really gets us going.
- 55:18Speaker 2: You know what my part is? You know what my
- 55:20Speaker 2: part in that song is? I want to choke.
- 55:22Speaker 3: I want you to touch that dangling thing in the
- 55:24Speaker 3: back of my throat. That shit gets me every time.
- 55:27Speaker 3: I laugh so hard every time. I laugh so hard.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Every time I want to choke, I want you to
- 55:33Speaker 3: touch that dangling thing in the back of my throat.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Do you think she wrote that? Did she write that?
- 55:39Speaker 2: I hope she did. Oh, please, God, make her have it.
- 55:42Speaker 1: When you look at the WAP writers, are there like
- 55:44Speaker 1: 400 people? I'd like to think that she.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Wrote the lyrics. I've never looked at the WAP who
- 55:48Speaker 2: wrote WAP.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I hope it just says. Daniel and Joelle, find out
- 55:52Speaker 1: for us. I want to know how many writers are
- 55:54Speaker 1: on the WAP list. Because those lyrics are- That line
- 55:58Speaker 1: doesn't get you every time?
- 55:58Speaker 2: That line doesn't get you every time.
- 56:00Speaker 1: It's hilarious, as you say, but I really want to
- 56:03Speaker 1: think that she wrote it.
- 56:05Speaker 2: She wants you to touch that dangling thing in the.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Back of her throat. I know what it's called.
- 56:11Speaker 5: Do you?
- 56:11Speaker 1: I'm a fake doctor.
- 56:12Speaker 3: From now on, it's called the dangling thing.
- 56:15Speaker 1: It's called the uvula.
- 56:18Speaker 2: I want to choke.
- 56:19Speaker 3: I want you to touch that dangling thing in the
- 56:21Speaker 3: back of my throat.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Uvula. Now, Waston, John, I'm glad you just came on
- 56:25Speaker 1: because I have an idea for a T-shirt that we
- 56:26Speaker 1: can't really mass market.
- 56:28Speaker 6: Okay, I'm taking notes.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it should say I apostrophe D, I'd,
- 56:35Speaker 1: and then an icon like you've done on yours of
- 56:38Speaker 1: a dock.
- 56:39Speaker 6: Okay.
- 56:40Speaker 1: And then the Leo astrological sign.
- 56:42Speaker 5: Okay.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Okay. So just like yours, yours is perfect, but with
- 56:46Speaker 1: those three things instead of yours.
- 56:48Speaker 6: I'll do that next.
- 56:49Speaker 1: That is genius. And if you send those to me
- 56:52Speaker 1: and Donald, we will make sure that your T-shirt Instagram
- 56:57Speaker 1: is fully promoted.
- 56:59Speaker 6: Much appreciated. I'll definitely do that one next.
- 57:01Speaker 1: And make sure you make an XXL for Donald because
- 57:04Speaker 1: he's a large man.
- 57:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 57:07Speaker 1: I don't mean fat, Donald. I mean muscular. You have
- 57:09Speaker 1: broad shoulders.
- 57:10Speaker 2: I'm not worried about how you perceive my body to look.
- 57:13Speaker 1: No, you have broad shoulders. You're a large man. You
- 57:17Speaker 1: need an XXL.
- 57:19Speaker 3: However you want to look at it. You could give
- 57:20Speaker 3: me a triple X if you got it, too. I'll
- 57:22Speaker 3: sleep in it.
- 57:22Speaker 2: How about that, John?
- 57:23Speaker 1: It's hard. Sizing T-shirts is hard.
- 57:24Speaker 2: John, I'll sleep in it.
- 57:26Speaker 6: I'll sleep in it.
- 57:28Speaker 1: John, do you find... Have you ever.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Are you getting mad at me?
- 57:32Speaker 1: Yeah, because I'm trying to fucking talk to John about
- 57:34Speaker 1: my iDocLeo t-shirt.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead. Get your iDocLeo t-shirt conversation finished.
- 57:40Speaker 1: John, don't you find that sizing t-shirts is very hard?
- 57:43Speaker 1: Because no one thinks they're the size they are. When
- 57:45Speaker 1: I made Wish I Was Here merch through the Kickstarter
- 57:48Speaker 1: thing we did, it was a nightmare because I didn't
- 57:53Speaker 1: know that doing merch was so hard. Eventually we hired
- 57:56Speaker 1: a company to help us, but People don't think they're
- 58:00Speaker 1: the size they are. And then you send a shirt
- 58:02Speaker 1: to New Zealand and it takes fucking a month and
- 58:06Speaker 1: they get it and they're like, what the fuck is this?
- 58:08Speaker 1: This isn't a women's petite small. And you're like, I
- 58:12Speaker 1: don't know your fucking size, bro.
- 58:15Speaker 6: Yes, very, very hard.
- 58:18Speaker 5: I used to sell them at the Saturday market we
- 58:20Speaker 5: have here in town. And I'd have a lot of
- 58:21Speaker 5: people ask if they can try them on. And I'm like, yeah, sure.
- 58:26Speaker 5: Probably couldn't do that now.
- 58:30Speaker 2: Them days is over.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Bro forever you probably can't ever try clothes on again
- 58:36Speaker 1: no you.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Can try clothes that's bullshit man get out of here
- 58:39Speaker 2: try clothes.
- 58:40Speaker 1: On maybe in 2024 but who's gonna fucking let you
- 58:43Speaker 1: go try no one wants you to go in the
- 58:45Speaker 1: store and put your fucking covid all over the shirt
- 58:48Speaker 1: and be like sorry I need a petite and then
- 58:51Speaker 1: you fucking.
- 58:53Speaker 3: No that shit's over anyway I can't imagine that happening Anyway,
- 58:58Speaker 3: hit us songwriters.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Okay, Belcalis Almanzar. That's party P. Oh, that's her real name?
- 59:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:07Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 59:08Speaker 1: And then Megan P. Belcalis Almanazar is Cardi B's real name.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Megan P., I'm assuming, is Megan. Mm-hmm. And then James
- 59:15Speaker 1: Foy III, Austin Owens, and Frank Rodriguez. So we don't
- 59:18Speaker 1: know if James Foy III came up with the hit
- 59:20Speaker 1: the uvula joke.
- 59:22Speaker 3: No, that's not what she says. She says, I want
- 59:24Speaker 3: to choke. I want you to touch that dangling thing
- 59:26Speaker 3: in the back of my throat.
- 59:31Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Oh, man. Oh, man. It's such a, it's the lyrics.
- 59:35Speaker 1: It's such poetry. You know, the 17th century had Shakespeare.
- 59:39Speaker 1: We got that.
- 59:40Speaker 6: I crack up with the Mack truck pot as well.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Joelle goes yes it's hilarious like with.
- 59:49Speaker 6: The noise and everything.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Yeah it's a great song if we were allowed to
- 59:53Speaker 1: play music for you here we would play it but
- 59:55Speaker 1: all we have is Donald singing it that's all we're
- 59:57Speaker 1: allowed to do Donald if you cover it like fully
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: cover it and Dan can help you with the.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Somebody did cover it somebody did cover it they did
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: an 80s version of the WAP song and it is
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: so dope dude it slaps it slaps It's tight, dude.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: It's like.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Oh, I wish we were allowed to play that.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, maybe we can.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Maybe we can. If we contact the person and it's
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: a cover, maybe we can. I don't know.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if we have enough time.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Okay. So, sorry, let's focus. John, so far, you're beating
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: our last guest by far, but that was not a
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: hard feat to achieve.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Look how excited he got.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I want the audience to know that we actually have
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: a guest that seems pleased to be on the show,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: which is very exciting. Do you have a question for
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: us related to anything?
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: Well, let us segue from music. I have a question
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: for you, Zach, and don't worry, Donald, I've got one
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: for you afterwards. Zach, if you were to write a musical,
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: what would it be about, and how would you incorporate
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: a stunt involving a zipline?
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Everyone's now making fun of me for
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: loving the zipline episode. Jesus. I do love a good
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: zipline joke. I don't know if you know that I
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: directed that.
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: Episode, John. No way.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. True story. First one. Very tricky to direct
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: yourself sliding down a zip line, but I managed to
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: do it. You know, I'm just going to say the
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: first thing that comes to my mind because someone asked,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I think it was Josh Charles, the actor, who put
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: on Twitter, like, what's a great movie that should be
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: a musical? Because, of course, now they're making, well, theater's
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: entirely on pause for the moment, but everyone's making movies
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: into theater, and And because it was Josh Charles who
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: said it, my brain instantly went to Dead Poets Society,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: which I thought would be, which is a movie I really,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: really love. And it's probably one of my favorite movies.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: And I thought, wow, that would be really conducive to
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: be a musical. Now, that's not really an original idea.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: But since you asked me and I just put on Twitter,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: I replied to Josh Charles that that should be. And
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: then I got a lot of attention because we were like, yeah,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: fuck yeah, that's a good idea. So there, there's my answer.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: If it were up to me, if I could do
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: a musical, making one up is too hard. That's like
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: a conundrum, dude. That's one of those things where it
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: takes forever. To write music, to write a story, to write,
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: all of that stuff takes forever. But if I could
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: make a musical out of a movie, it would definitely
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: be The Princess Bride.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: I think that would be a funny... musical.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I can't believe that's not in the, I mean, that's
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: such like everybody's favorite movie. I can't believe it's probably
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: got to be in the works, right?
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: That would be amazing.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: I think that's, and if you could somehow still keep
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: that type of humor in the movie, I mean, in
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: the musical as well, that would be great without losing,
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Stop that rhyming. I mean it. Anybody want a peanut?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: If you can freaking still somehow keep that shit. Where
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: am I? The pits of despair. You know, I would
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: love to hear a musical number about rodents of unusual size.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: I'm just saying.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Okay. There we are. Now, John, next question for Donald.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Go. All right.
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: Star Wars question. Oh, Jesus.
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: You guys transcend my two loves. I love musicals and
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: I love Star Wars.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: It's our baby. It's our son. It's our son, Zach.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Our son lives in New Zealand.
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: So when Disney bought Star Wars.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: I bet you love weed, too.
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: I tried some in Canada.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: But I don't... Maybe you can't get weed in New Zealand.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: It might be hard down there.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we can, but... They can get weed in New Zealand.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: That shit's a weed. It grows anywhere.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. All right, go ahead.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: When Disney bought Star Wars and they declared all of
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: the expanded universe as non-canon, what book or comic series or...
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: EU stuff did you miss? Did you feel saddest for?
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Oh wow, Joelle's on the verge of tears.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: I was very happy that the Yuuzovong was out of
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: the whole thing.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: I wasn't a fan of that. I didn't like that.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: I didn't like the fact that something from outside of the...
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: I like the stories of the Sith and the Jedi
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: and this new enemy that comes from out of nowhere
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: and is... you know, resistant to the force and all
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: of that stuff. It just seemed like, all right, so
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: we have this galaxy that seems to have a balance.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: Let's fuck up the galaxy. How can we fuck it up?
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Let's just throw some impossible.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Enemy at them. And you know what I mean? And,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: and I thought that was a cop out. So I
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: didn't like that.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: My, the one stuff that I, the things that I
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: did like were all of the stories about Han Solo's
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: kids and Leia's kids and, and Luke's kid and, and
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: you know what I mean? And, and, and, and even
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: the stories of their grandchildren and stuff like that. And
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: they're great, great grandchildren and stuff like that. All of
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: that stuff was really cool stories to, that made a
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: lot of sense.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: It made sense that Leia had twins and, you know,
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: one turned to the dark side and, you know, one,
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: cause that's what you wanted for Luke and Leia to happen,
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: you know, to happen to Luke and Leia. One turns
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: to the dark side, And then the other one has
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: to go kill their brother. Like, it's the next version
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: of father and son or mother and daughter. And I
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: just liked hearing about that lineage. Now, that being said,
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: that does get a little bit redundant after a while.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: And nobody wants to hear about, you know, the Skywalkers
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: and the Solos forever and ever and ever.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean? All right.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Well, that sounds... Let me finish.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: I'm not done. I'm not done. I'm not done.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Just wait a second. So that being said, I like
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: the old Republic stuff. I think maybe that's the next
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: direction that they should go. I know they're doing this
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: high order and all of that, and Yoda's going to
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: be in it. I think that's the right way to go.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: I think there's something special about seeing a bunch of
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: red lightsabers clash against green, blue, and purple.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: There's something.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: If you could find a way to do Braveheart with Jedi... Testify!
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: Yes!
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Breach! That'd be great.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: So.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I was worried. All right.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: That feels like you did a great job answering it, Donald.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I felt satisfied. I'm sure everyone that loves Star Wars
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: feels satisfied. Joelle, for example, yelled testify. Now, John, it's
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: time for everybody's favorite new segment, Fix Your Life. As
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: you well know from being a fan of the show,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Donald and I are pretty great, I think exceptional, at
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: fixing people's lives. Your problem could be big or small.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: We can handle it.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Okay. So, John.
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: It's time to fix your life.
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: Oh, God.
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: So, I have actually a dog problem.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: And she's in the room with me right now because she's...
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: Can we see her? Yeah, Jess. Jess, do you want
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: to come up? Jess, come on.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Come on.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Poppy. Come on.
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: Come here.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Ready?
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: Uh-oh.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: Say hi.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Hey, guys.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Oh, what a cutie. Precious. She's beautiful. Yeah, go ahead.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I can answer any dog question. I'm a dog master.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: So, yeah, she's eight years old, and she's part boxer.
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: We've moved down here five years ago from Auckland, and
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: in that time, she's been fine. We've been able to
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: leave her in the yard when we go to work.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: And then just a month ago, she died. decided to
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: escape one day and just ran around the neighborhood. And
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: it was very stressful. It took us a whole day
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: to find her. And she dug out under our gate.
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: So we concreted that so she couldn't do it again,
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: but she still tries. And so we don't trust her
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: at all on her own. And I've been taking her
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: to doggy daycare and just trying to see what we
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: can do.
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: We're going to try her again on her own today,
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: but I'm just.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Now, John, do you, um, do you run her enough?
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Because I only know this from watching Caesar Milan, which
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: who I love, if you, if you get a dog, uh,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: and you're new to owning a dog, obviously you're not,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: but I'm talking to other people watching like every episode
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: of Caesar is a, is a really good education. Cause
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: you know, obviously it's, it's edited to make him look like,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: like a God, but, um, But it is helpful. And
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: I know that one thing he does– I remember an
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: episode where a dog was constantly escaping and part of
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: the problem was like the dog just wanted to sprint.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: And he would do things like getting on rollerblades and
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: running with the dog or getting on a bicycle and
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: sprinting alongside the dog. But do you think the dog
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: is getting enough– are you exhausting the dog? Because a
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: big dog like that needs to probably run.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: We take her to play at the park before work
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: every morning and after work as well.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Well, then, you know, John, it really comes down to
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: you having to ask yourself, Am I a good pet owner?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Yeah. John, I need you to put yourself on the
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: dog's head. The dog wants to get away from you.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: You're welcome, John.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: We just fixed your life. You're welcome, John. Thank you, John.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: No.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: I am not a dog whisperer and I am not
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: a vet. And so I don't know what goes on
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: in dogs' minds. I will say I have a dog
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: and I feel like dogs like to be disciplined. And
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: I don't mean with the hand or anything like that,
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: but giving them chores to do. It's not just about
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: running them. It's also about making them do things and
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: they enjoy doing that type of stuff so uh you know.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: What are you saying he should do like like errands
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: around the house like mowing.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Like i don't know do you do stay sit down
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: roll over and and things like that i don't you
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: know those are things to occupy a dog's mind as
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: well do you have a.
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: Crate no so we tried to create trainer but she's
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: uh she's a rescue from um We call it the
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: SPCA here, sort of like the pound.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: I guess. Oh, right.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: But now this makes even more sense. So it's not
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: necessarily you. Maybe where she came from before.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: You know, and this is just something psychological.
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I'm not sure. But have you tried working with a
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: trainer at all?
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: I had a lady sort of try to give me advice.
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: I might need to get back in touch with her.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: All right, well, get back in touch with the trainer, John.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: You're welcome. You're welcome, Donald. Say it. You're welcome.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Well, I don't feel like I fixed his life. I
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: feel like I've put him on a path.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we put him on a path. We put him
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: on a path. We said watch Caesar because there is
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: an episode about an escaping dog and Caesar fixes that
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: guy's problem.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: You have three choices. You can watch Caesar. You can
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: contact the dog trainer.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: Or.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: You can take a good look at yourself. Look at
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: the man in the mirror.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Why are animals trying to run away from you, John?
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: What is it that you're doing that's making animals?
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I'm asking you to look in the mirror. I'm asking
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: you to make a change.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: No message could have been any clearer, John. The dog
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: is giving you the message.
- 1:11:47Speaker 6: She's trying to run to him.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: Shimon! Shimon!
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Shimon, John! Shimon, John! Shimon, John! John, if you want
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: to make yourself a better dog owner, you got to
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: look at yourself and then make the change. Woo!
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Woo! Make that change.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na. Make
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: that change. It's a great song. All right, we got
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: to go, John. This has been awesome. You're going to
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: get a mug. It'll probably take four years to get there.
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: Oh, can I just quickly throw back to just one
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: previous episode where you talked about North African-American players in
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: the NHL? At the upcoming draft in October, there's a
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: kid called Quinton Byfield who's probably going to go second overall.
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: So that's another good.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: But is he like the savior? Is he the savior?
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Is he? Is he the great black hype of hockey?
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: He's comparable to a guy called Evgeny Malkin, who plays
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Is he comparable to Wayne Gretzky? That's the question.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: Is he comparable to Sidney Crosby? These are the questions
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: that I'm asking. Because if he's going to change the sport,
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: like some of the white players have changed the NBA,
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: now we're talking. But if it's just some black dude
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: coming in because he's black and the NHL needs black faces.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: He's saying that he's going to go second in the draft.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: That's pretty high. And he could be really good.
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: Yo, there are a lot of... I'm not trying to hate.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: And I hate when I hate because hating is for suckers.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: And I do that a lot sometimes. And we have
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: to edit that shit out. But I'm going to say
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: this right now. I'm going to say this right now.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: There have been a lot of NBA players that went
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: high in the draft... thinking that they were going to
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: be some great savior and turned out to be a bust.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: So just because this dude's going number two.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Doesn't mean he's going to make it as an NHL player.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: So that's great. It's great that he's on his way.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: but we shall see.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: John, I'm rooting for him. I'm rooting for him to
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: be wonderful. Thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: And he's North American. He's not African American, right? He's
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: like from Canada, right? Yep, knew it.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Anyway. Thank you. I can't wait to get my WAP t-shirt.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I can't wait to get my iDoc video t-shirt. And
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: you're going to get a mug. I don't know how
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: long it takes to get things to New Zealand, but
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: look for it by the time you're 40 or 45.
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: I'll tell you what.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: When you guys come to the World Tour and come
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: down here, just bring it then, and I'll take you
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: on a little tour.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: Oh, perfect. We definitely got to do New Zealand when.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: We go on the World Tour. I would love to
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: go to New Zealand.
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: I'll take you on a tour of all the Lord
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: of the Rings locations.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: Yay!
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: Well, I don't necessarily want to see the Lord of
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: the Rings stuff.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I want to see, like, yo, is Word Life, the
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: Maori people, I want to.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: There's a bunch of history there that I'm fascinated by.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: So I would love to check that out.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: All right. Well, we're going to be on a tour
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: bus with all four of our faces on the side.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: It's going to be really, really exciting.
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: Awesome.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: We got to go, John. Thank you so much.
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: Thank you. Thanks again.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for John!
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Peace, buddy.
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: Take care.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Big John! How refreshing to have a guest that was
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: at least interested in talking to us.
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: Agreed.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Woo! I like John. That's a lot of hate. He
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: was good.
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Well, we're almost done, but let's talk about Leslie Baker.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: I was about to say, we had Stanley from The
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Office on the show.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Stanley from The Office, who I love and have put
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: in the short film I made. He was in Wish
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: I Was Here. I always think that guy's so funny.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: And here he is. This was before The Office.
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: Yes, it was.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Obviously, he wouldn't be doing the show if it wasn't
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: before The Office. And there he is. And he has
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: a cameo. He only has one line in which he
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: outs to Carla that you've been talking about having sex
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: with Elliot during surgery.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Yep. Not me, but Turk does. This is my point.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: I think the audience knows how to delineate between you
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: and your character.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: I'm just going to say, this is the point that
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: I'm trying to make. When you keep secrets, but you
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: keep secrets from your spouse about sex, they always find out.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Oh, shit always comes out.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: It always comes out.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: So your best bet is to not tell anyone you
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: had a sex fantasy.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Keep that shit to yourself.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: And then you'll never be in this situation ever.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I laughed hard when Sam Lloyd at 1620 says something.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: He goes, I just have that one dream where I
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: hold his head under the water until the last bubble goes.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: And then there's like a long pause and he goes, bloop, bloop.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Talking about killing Kelso. That's his only dream that he
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: has recurring.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: And then Kelso walks by and says something.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, go get me something.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Right, yeah, I'm still waiting on that, whatever it is.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: It was Oreos or something.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, those Oreos.
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: Bloop.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: And then I forgot that there was a Luftballoons callback
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: with Amy Smart and the parents dancing. I totally forgot
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: we did that. That was funny.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I have a question.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: Why didn't JD take her aside at the restaurant? Why
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: did he run up to the table with these two
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: people there? It's clear that she's there with these two people, too.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Like, the shot is him running up to a table
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: of her and people dancing.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Why not be like, hey, you know what? Can I
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: talk to you for a second?
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And why would he do that in front of anyone?
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: He talks about having sex at her husband's funeral.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, moron. They don't want to hear that shit.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: It's probably the reason I'm assuming she's not back.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: I think he ruined it.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Is she done? Does she have another one? I forgot.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: I don't know. But she was so great on the episode.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: She was so great in the show.
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: When she's on your back, and he's like, I know
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: you've got a tasty coma wipe on your mind.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: You're like, no, I don't.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: And she jumps on your back, and he goes, yeah,
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: you do. And then you nudge her off, and she
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: goes flying off.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: She's really funny. I don't know why. She's so funny.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: She must be on a show. I haven't seen her
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: that much.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: She's on Stargirl, actually, which is a Berlanti show. That's
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: in the Arrowverse.
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: Got it.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: She, believe it or not, plays a mother now of
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: a teenage girl. That's how... That's how far we've come.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: That's how old we are.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: Well, I'm not going to say old. I'll say that's
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: how far we've come. I thought Amy did.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: A great job on her arc. I don't know if
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: it's over, but I assume it's over.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: She's still a very good actress, and she does great
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: on the show.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: I'm a fan of the show.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: And then that baby at the end, I just have
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: to say, as someone who appreciates an adorable baby, they
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: cast that baby well.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Oh, all babies are cute.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: That's not true. And this baby.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no. All babies are cute. Even
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: when they're born. Look, man.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I can say I didn't know it was controversial to
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: say that some babies are cuter than other babies.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: Here's what's going to happen. You're going to have a baby.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm going to love it. I'm not saying
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: the parents don't think it's cute, but I'm saying that
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: there are some babies.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: And you'll understand what I'm talking about.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I know that if it's my baby, no matter what
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: it looks like, I'm going to think it's the cutest baby.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: I'm just saying clearly they cast a particularly adorable baby
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: to smile at Johnny C., And have him fall in
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: love and have his eyes well at the end. Oh,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Joelle just told me that she is back for another one.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: She's back for 221. So I knew it. And then
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: we have, so we're getting close to being done with
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: this season two, guys. I got to tell you, we
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: got three more left, it looks like.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Oh, shit.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: So what happens then after we finish season two? Are
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: we going to go right into season three or are
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: we going to take a break?
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Well, we just took a break. Should we keep going?
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: It's up to you, man.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: I don't want the fans to stop counting on us.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: A lot of people rely on us for their biweekly smile.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: I agree with that.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: I don't want to let anybody down.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: That's the last thing I want to do, too.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: We're working on Ryan Reynolds. I've had some top secret. Yeah,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I think we have a chance. I think we have
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: a chance.
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: Does he know I'm sorry?
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I don't think he remembers, but I hope that he
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: will talk about it if and when we get him
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: on the show. But I did speak with him via email,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: and it's a work in progress.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: We'll see what happens. You think I should reach out
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: to him?
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: No, I don't want you to fuck up any momentum
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: I've made. You might get drunk and dry hump him
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: over Zoom calls.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: No, I'm not going to get drunk and dry hump
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: anybody over Zoom.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Can you dry hump? I guess you could dry hump
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: the camera.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: Well, did you see the video of the dude in
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: the middle of the meeting on Zoom? And he thinks
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: he blacks the camera out. And so he switches over
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: to his browser. And you see him get up, walk
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: to the bathroom. Go get lotion.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: And toilet paper.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: No.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Sets the toilet paper down and sets the lotion down.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: And they're all like, no. Richard, no.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: No.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: And he goes.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: That's not real. And puts the lotion on. That's got
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: to be a joke.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: Dude, I'm telling you.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Oh, my God. If that's not a joke, that's the
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: most embarrassing thing I've ever heard of in my life.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: And if it is a joke, good kudos.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Good joke. All right, everybody. We love you. We're back.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: Yay.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: We're back, back. I'm back in L.A. Daniel's back in L.A.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: We're all together.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: Joelle and I never left L.A. We've just been here chilling,
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: staying safe. I listen.
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: L.A.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Gets a lot of shit out there, but I got
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: to tell you, even when it's smoky, it's a beautiful
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: place to live. It's great to be back.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: It is great to be back. It's always great to
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: come home. You know what I mean? I'm so happy
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: that you guys made it home safely.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Thanks, man.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: I'm so happy that it went well, Daniel. With her parents.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: How did you meet? How did you meet? Hinge. Bumble? Oh, Hinge.
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: What's the catch of Hinge? What's the hook? The Hinge
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: is Facebook friends. So everybody you match with or everybody
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: that you see on Hinge, you have a Facebook friend
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: in common. Just one Facebook friend? I mean, you only
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: need to have one.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: And as a matter of fact, we did.
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: More than one or just one?
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Hinge worked. Just one. It did. Donald, you missed this
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: whole app dating world.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: I'm going to be honest with you. It scares me
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: just a little.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: It was a scary process, I'll tell you what. It
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: had several misfires.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: I was going to say, the only thing that I
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: find a little different about it is that you're dating
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: somebody that you don't really get to know.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: What do you do? You go on a fucking date.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: Not on Craigslist.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: You just don't have to go to a... I'm not
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: dating on Craigslist.
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: That's 2008 dating, Donald.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Yeah, dude. That's the last time he went on a
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: date is Craigslist time. Joelle, are you using any of
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: the apps to find love?
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: Not during quarantine because that just seems wild to me.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: But what about chat? You could chat. You could do
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: your game, shoot your shot.
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: Listen, I am an in-person dater. I suck at talking.
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: What am I saying?
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: What do I care?
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: I have, you know, in person.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Like, I'm... No.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: What if you went on Hinge or whatever one and
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: you found someone who you thought was attractive... who all
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: they wanted to do was talk about Star Wars and
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: loved a gummy at night. You know, this person might
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: be out there.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: I'm sure the person is out there. I would be
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: terrible at talking to them over the app. It wouldn't
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: be their fault.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: It would be my fault. I have a question.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Well, if you're interested in Joelle, if you're listening and
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: you're interested in Joelle, she's very pretty and very funny.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: I have a question.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: What?
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Over apps, is it okay to be like, I had
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: a crazy sex dream about you.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Not recommended.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: Not recommended over apps either.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Not recommended. Well, Joelle, you know what would be funny?
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: If you do develop a profile, I think we could
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: blast out your profile eventually.
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: And we could all talk about the encounters you're having.
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: Woo!
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: That sounds like quite an event. I'm going to keep
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: sliding in the DMs, but who knows?
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: Oh, that's how you do it. Yeah.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: You know you follow people you see who they follow
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: you get a rough idea of their like thought opinions
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: on the world and then you're just like yo we
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: should hang and.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: Then do you slide so you'd be sliding into.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: The people's DMs yeah yeah now so if you.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Are it's okay she's already in my DMs mom ain't
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: great today gotta be great oh my god.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: Okay so listen if you're a hot smart intelligent chick
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: destroyed my Instagram Hit up Joelle because she is a catch.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I think she's witty and smart and has a good
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: job and very pretty. I mean, I don't know what
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: the hell's going on here. I got to record this. Everybody,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: let's play. Let's set up Joelle with her dream person.
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: I love it.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Right, Donald? And I'm horrified. And Donald and I will
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: officiate your wedding.
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: Have you been talking to my mother?
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: I'm all for it.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Are you guys planning things? All right. We got to go.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: We've been going long. Oh, my God.
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: Joel, I'm going to laugh my ass off when your
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: freaking DMs open.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: Up with nothing but- Yeah, Joel, they're going to explode.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Because that shit's always hilarious.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: I'll post something, like my animation, and I'll look at
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: what the fans say if they like the animation and
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: stuff like that.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: And every now and then, you get that one that says, hi, or- Hello.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: And in response to hi or hello, you have to
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: actually have a thought.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: All right. So there you go.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: If you're a fan, I don't have any desire to
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: partner with a fan. That weirds me out. I don't know.
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: There's like a weird power exchange there that I'm not
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: comfortable with. So don't try that.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: All right. Listen, she's giving you tips. So be real.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: Don't just say hi.
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: No hello.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Don't just say hi. Don't just say hello. Don't be like,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: you up.
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: None of that.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Yeah. This is going to be fun. I think this
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: could be a new segment called Find Joelle a Lover.
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: No, it's Let's Make Joelle's Mama Happy and Find Joelle
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: a Lover.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: It's time for another edition of Let's Make Joelle's Mother
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: Happy and Find Joelle a Lover.
- 1:26:16Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: Oh, that's too much. I'm excited.
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: This is fun.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: I love being a, what do you call it?
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: Matchmaker? A matchmaker.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: I love being a matchmaker. I set Donald up. Look
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: how well that went.
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: I'm married. I got kids. We still don't got no
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: air conditioning.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: On that note, thank you all for tuning in. And Donald,
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: you may count us in with the beautiful numbers that
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: everybody loves.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: About a bunch of docs and nurses and a janitor
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: who loved making ice.
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: And he's got stories that you.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: All should know. So gather round to hear our, gather
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: round
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: To hear our Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach and Donald.
