Transcript
- 0:00Thanks, Costo. It's good to speak. And the theme of a test of depth certainly
- 0:04ran through a few games. Let's have a look at the NRL NT men's premiership.
- 0:08Raiders v. Brothers. Friday night football under lights saw both teams going
- 0:13head to head with at least six of their regular 1 to 13 unavailable.
- 0:17And the Raiders, they really took it to the brethren with the defending premiers
- 0:21only holding a six point lead at halftime.
- 0:23It really wasn't until the final 20 minutes that the brothers machine kicked
- 0:27into gear running out 40 points to four winners both teams can be satisfied
- 0:32with how they cover the gaps on the field and defense was generally good across the board however
- 0:37as expected the mass force changes resulted in the completion rate being down
- 0:41passes just not finding their mark and a general clunkiness in attack.
- 0:46Bears v Rabbitohs now have got to hand it to the South Darwin Rabbitohs they
- 0:49turn up each and every week and play with tremendous heart and this was evident
- 0:53in their strong performance against the rising Litchfield Bears.
- 0:57The Bunnies, they took it to the red and black and were more than competitive
- 1:00despite being absent their Gove contingent.
- 1:03In the end, the Bears' strength and clash shone through in an 11 try to 4 victory.
- 1:07The final score, Bears 54, the Bunnies 22.
- 1:11And the Nightcliff Dragons and Northern Sharks clash. This game didn't disappoint.
- 1:16The second place Sharks were pushed all the way by the fourth place Dragons,
- 1:20who were missing Robert Butcher and Latham Shirley, two of their best players
- 1:24the sharkies they were swimming comfortably at 24 14 before two quick tries
- 1:29to the nightcliff dragons locked it up at 24 all stillianas varontas varontas
- 1:34doing varontas things all games including scoring four tries for the dragons.
- 1:39It was to be the Sharky's night with Samuel Risaku scoring the match winner
- 1:43late in the game. And it was so good to see Samika Sala back out there for the
- 1:48Sharks. Now the latter in the NRL NT men's premiership after round nine.
- 1:53The brothers there on 18 points. Top of the table still undefeated.
- 1:56The Sharks move to 14 points. The Bears, they're in third on 10.
- 2:00And the Dragons, they round out our top four on six points.
- 2:04Now the Raiders and the Rabbitohs are still in contention on four and two points respectively.
- 2:09But they need to win and win fast because if not, we're going to start talking
- 2:13about things like mathematical possibility and that's never a good sign.
- 2:17Next weekend is a bye weekend here in the top end in the NRL NT so we can play the Deadly Cup.
- 2:23So round 10 action will return the weekend of Saturday 11th of July and some
- 2:28great battles coming up here.

- 2:34win and that will change potentially how they view the rest of their season.
- 2:38The Bears v Dragons both teams are jockeying for top four positions they're both in the top four
- 2:43but they are jockeying for the order and Brothers v Sharks this is going to
- 2:47be a 1v2 clash and promises to be a cracker speaking of a cracker
