- 0:01Speaker 1: Here we are in the YouTube special of the tree House.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Let's jump in face first, Shelly Trey, thank you for
- 0:11Speaker 1: what you have bestowed upon us here inside the Treehouse.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Look, the eighties were wild.
- 0:17Speaker 1: It was a different time, and if you were single
- 0:20Speaker 1: and looking for love, you didn't have a whole lot
- 0:22Speaker 1: of options. It was real world stuff. You had to
- 0:24Speaker 1: meet somebody in the wild. You had to be introduced
- 0:28Speaker 1: to somebody. There was no social media, right, there was
- 0:35Speaker 1: no social media, and so it was a different time
- 0:38Speaker 1: and you had to go to creative lengths to meet somebody.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I mean, unless you were going on love Connection. There
- 0:48Speaker 1: wasn't really any out of the box way to meet
- 0:53Speaker 1: someone romantically. No, they had dating services.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I mean you're saying love connection, but they had like
- 1:02Speaker 3: you could go like I think it was video dating.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Is that what it was.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Called VHS dating? So yeah, so you're right.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So what you would do is you would go to
- 1:13Speaker 1: a dating service or a matchmaking service and you would
- 1:16Speaker 1: be interviewed mm hmm, and then they would keep your
- 1:21Speaker 1: tape on file, I guess, and then you someone else
- 1:24Speaker 1: goes into the office and watches all these videos and
- 1:27Speaker 1: sees you and goes, oh, well, I gotta go on
- 1:29Speaker 1: a date with that hunk or babe or babe.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Have a headshot and a like a questionnaire and then a.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Video you recorded, but not just any video one.
- 1:42Speaker 4: That's how do you know those hold on? You knew
- 1:46Speaker 4: that very specifically.
- 1:49Speaker 6: I mean it's not the first time I had this discussion.
- 1:53Speaker 6: I mean that was a little a little before my time.
- 1:58Speaker 3: But okay, true, you knew the questionnaire. You knew that
- 2:05Speaker 3: it had to be you know.
- 2:07Speaker 5: At one point and I cannot tell you what year
- 2:11Speaker 5: this was when Russ was bitching about being single one
- 2:15Speaker 5: and I wish I could remember the name of the service,
- 2:17Speaker 5: there was still one that was old school like this,
- 2:21Speaker 5: and they wanted him to do it, and he was like,
- 2:23Speaker 5: hell no, But that was the whole deal is you
- 2:26Speaker 5: filled out a questionnaire, they took a headshot, and then
- 2:29Speaker 5: they recorded you like, you know, two minutes, you know,
- 2:35Speaker 5: you telling him about yourself.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Did he do it?
- 2:38Speaker 1: No?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Okay, because that would be if we we'd make millions.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Russ Martin's follow through was famously lacking.
- 2:51Speaker 4: His pullout game wasn't strong.
- 2:55Speaker 2: No, that actually was pretty strong.
- 3:00Speaker 6: But if they didn't if they didn't pull up to
- 3:02Speaker 6: his house. He wasn't.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Oh eh wow, yeah, all right.
- 3:07Speaker 2: So, yes, the eighties were a wild time.
- 3:09Speaker 1: If you wanted to meet somebody, you had to think
- 3:12Speaker 1: outside of the box. Maybe you go into one of
- 3:14Speaker 1: these matchmaking services. They take a photo of you, you
- 3:17Speaker 1: fall out a survey, and then they bust out the
- 3:20Speaker 1: old camcorder and they record you, interview you, and then
- 3:26Speaker 1: that's supposed to be the thing that seals the deal,
- 3:28Speaker 1: that'll get you a date and possibly possibly lead to love,
- 3:33Speaker 1: like London here did back in the eighties. This hunk
- 3:38Speaker 1: walked into a matchmaking service and they said, get the camera.
- 3:42Speaker 2: We're ready raw as you can look now.
- 3:43Speaker 1: By the way, just imagine walking into the eighties matchmaking
- 3:52Speaker 1: service and they show you this man's photo and you say,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I need to watch his video. You don't need the questionnaire.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You want to go straight to the goods. And this
- 4:04Speaker 1: is what London has to say about finding love in
- 4:06Speaker 1: the eighties.
- 4:08Speaker 7: Sure, my name is London. I'm here to find my fullmate.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Or my next victim.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Oh he has very recently, like based on where I
- 4:28Speaker 1: paused the video, he's doing it right now.
- 4:33Speaker 7: Oh, the name is London. I'm here to find my fullmate.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It's so awkward when they first learned to smile.
- 4:52Speaker 4: I've been out for four minutes. Prisons, not far.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Rip then single. Okay, here we go. I gotta see
- 5:05Speaker 2: that smile again.
- 5:06Speaker 7: It means London. I'm here to find my soulmate.
- 5:11Speaker 8: At this point, I'm thinking just about anyone would be
- 5:17Speaker 8: Just find anybody that can spend the time with me.
- 5:22Speaker 7: Is somebody worth spending time with?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:25Speaker 7: I have times?
- 5:27Speaker 6: Uh?
- 5:27Speaker 2: What's that tray?
- 5:29Speaker 6: I said, voluntarily?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah, voluntarily, Yeah, I'll take the cuffs off.
- 5:35Speaker 6: I promise not to run.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I may not look it, but I'm lightning fast. My
- 5:49Speaker 1: beard that has no drag.
- 5:53Speaker 7: I have several pastimes. I enjoy night life, stocking.
- 6:01Speaker 6: I like the boogie.
- 6:10Speaker 2: This is the face of the boogie man.
- 6:21Speaker 4: There's so many jokes I can't say now.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I'll let you collect your thoughts. Will we watch more
- 6:27Speaker 2: of London?
- 6:28Speaker 7: Finding love joy, the club scene.
- 6:31Speaker 6: I love billy club.
- 6:36Speaker 4: I like seals too, I love them, preferably the young ones.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 4: I love white people.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I love London.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You know he found love, you just know it.
- 7:00Speaker 7: The club scene. I love dancing yes.
- 7:05Speaker 2: On the ceiling.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Sorry, sorry, Jenny taught me after Aids.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You're right.
- 7:22Speaker 1: This is this is a running forest when he goes
- 7:26Speaker 1: on his cross country runs.
- 7:27Speaker 2: That's that's what this is what he looked like.
- 7:31Speaker 8: I'm big on dancing on corpses.
- 7:37Speaker 7: Great way to meet people. I have a unique culinary
- 7:45Speaker 7: gift in which I am capable of.
- 7:49Speaker 4: We all know it's cannibalism, right, I was hoping wisagna.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Oh, they're layers players of people.
- 8:05Speaker 8: Creating delicious meals on the shoe string budget.
- 8:11Speaker 7: So the perfect first date.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Would I often have to cook with on a shoe
- 8:18Speaker 1: string budget because when they take me in, they take
- 8:21Speaker 1: my shoe streaks away from me.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Ladies, I can post bond.
- 8:33Speaker 2: See jokes on us.
- 8:34Speaker 1: He's probably got a YouTube channel with a million subscribers
- 8:38Speaker 1: called Inside the Institutional Kitchen.
- 8:42Speaker 4: No, I think this one. It's called red as Dead.
- 8:49Speaker 4: That's what it looks like.
- 8:52Speaker 2: His gamer tag is red Rum.
- 8:57Speaker 4: From Prison.
- 9:02Speaker 7: Involve a beach. What we do on the beach is.
- 9:09Speaker 8: Rather unimportant because it is the beach and there is
- 9:14Speaker 8: fun to be had there regardless of activity, And so
- 9:20Speaker 8: I might take my date to the peer. We may
- 9:26Speaker 8: stroll upon the pier and.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Throw her off.
- 9:34Speaker 6: He ends it with a bang.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Oh god, I hope so enjoys. It sounds like a
- 9:41Speaker 4: hostage negotiation.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna take her to the pier. We're gonna go
- 9:46Speaker 3: to the pier. Here's what we're gonna do. And then
- 9:48Speaker 3: you're gonna get me a helicopter.
- 9:54Speaker 8: Take my date to the peer. We may stroll upon
- 9:57Speaker 8: the pier and enjoy a.
- 10:03Speaker 7: Soft press.
- 10:15Speaker 9: I don't know why people called it that, And then
- 10:24Speaker 9: I will tie you when knots.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Your next Jenny, Wow, that is a.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:41Speaker 2: That was a.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Did he find love? Do we know what happened?
- 10:48Speaker 6: I didn't look for an update. He didn't.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Sometimes you just don't want to know the end of
- 10:54Speaker 1: the story. You just want to let your imagination run
- 10:56Speaker 1: wild or off the end of the pier.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I want to see where this guy's story ends, because
- 11:02Speaker 3: I promise you it's just a black dude doing life
- 11:07Speaker 3: with him.
- 11:12Speaker 2: But I'll tell you right now, red Rum is not.
- 11:14Speaker 7: The bitch.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Now with that beard m.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I personally like to think that he found love, and
- 11:29Speaker 1: specifically I like to think that he may have found
- 11:32Speaker 1: love with a special someone who might have been under
- 11:36Speaker 1: his nose all along, inside the same matchmaking agency.
- 11:42Speaker 10: M okay, I am an M eight firecracker with generous hips.
- 11:59Speaker 4: I mean, Brett Michael's looks so young.

- 12:19Speaker 3: mixt pro can we with the White Snake video?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Mm hmm?
- 12:28Speaker 10: I am an M eighty firecracker with generous hips. With
- 12:35Speaker 10: shakin' Tina Teranova, I don't know about love at first sight.
- 12:39Speaker 10: I mean, come on, can we be realistic here? I'm
- 12:42Speaker 10: not gonna settle. Look around, everybody settled. My best quality
- 12:48Speaker 10: is my unwavering allegiance to myself. I know who I am.
- 12:53Speaker 10: If you don't, or you can't figure it out, I'm
- 12:57Speaker 10: not a great sleeper. I do a lot of horse
- 12:59Speaker 10: kicks in the night.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Be patient.
- 13:08Speaker 1: That's okay, because okay, I feel like London would be ended.
- 13:16Speaker 6: London doesn't sleep, He's just watching, keep kicking.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I'm almost done. I want to go back to the eighties.
- 13:39Speaker 4: I want to go back to sleep.
