- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to a DM podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We'll try to keep it as nice as we can,
- 0:04Speaker 2: but you might hear the occasional swear word in No
- 0:06Speaker 2: Dribble Don't Tell Mom. Hello, and welcome to No Dribble,
- 0:24Speaker 2: the podcast where we talk about netball, but we talk
- 0:26Speaker 2: about so much more. My name is Carolyn Swindell.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm Catherine Cox.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Hi. Hi, I'm Lizellos and I'm not at a netball
- 0:35Speaker 3: carnival this week. I'm at home.
- 0:36Speaker 2: You're back at home. You had last week For those
- 0:39Speaker 2: who yet to catch up, last week, you were in
- 0:41Speaker 2: Adelaide at a marrist school's netball.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Comp Yes, I was, and let me say the final
- 0:49Speaker 3: was on Wednesday and Sacred Heart from Adelaide and Lavala
- 0:56Speaker 3: School from Terraalgon in Victoria in the final. It was
- 1:01Speaker 3: one of the best games of netball I've seen in
- 1:03Speaker 3: a long time. Oh really Yeah, So Lavala won by one.
- 1:07Speaker 3: And the first day I got there, I thought, my god,
- 1:09Speaker 3: this Adelaide team, everyone's just playing for second. But Lavala
- 1:13Speaker 3: had like I was like, I'm sure, I wasn't this
- 1:17Speaker 3: good when I was seventeen?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, what you probably?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Well, I wasn't, but I was just watching and these
- 1:24Speaker 3: kids are really athletic, Like their full court play was amazing.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Both in courts were phenomenal and Lavala won by a
- 1:31Speaker 3: goal and it was a great game in netball to watch.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Sat there and got really into it and I was like,
- 1:35Speaker 3: I'd actually paid money to watch this. It was fantastic.
- 1:38Speaker 3: So what under both teams? It was great?
- 1:40Speaker 1: And so how did Evelyn's team end up? Though?
- 1:42Speaker 3: So Evelyn's team came about middle of the pack, so
- 1:45Speaker 3: they ended up in like there was two divisions, championship
- 1:48Speaker 3: and challenges, so they went up into the championship division.
- 1:51Speaker 3: It was a bit of a tough old run, but
- 1:52Speaker 3: they did pretty well. Got a couple of kids in
- 1:54Speaker 3: the highly commended, including my niece.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So oh already.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so it was a really good week. But I've
- 2:00Speaker 3: got to say, like this is just a little a microcosm, right,
- 2:04Speaker 3: it's seventeen Catholic schools from around Australia. The talent on
- 2:07Speaker 3: display was unreal.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And then you were home for like a heartbeat and
- 2:11Speaker 1: you had another carnival on the weekend.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Well then old daughter dead.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so well we didn't have to play rugby Friday
- 2:22Speaker 3: night or she didn't have to play, so we went
- 2:24Speaker 3: to watch my son playing rugby and then we played.
- 2:26Speaker 3: She played netball on Saturday. We had a game and
- 2:27Speaker 3: then off to a carnival yesterday and it rained. But
- 2:30Speaker 3: if you don't play in the rain on the North Coast,
- 2:32Speaker 3: you don't play.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Oh my god. That is a lot, though, isn't it.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It is a lot because the carnivals for you are
- 2:40Speaker 1: not close to home either, are they. So you had
- 2:41Speaker 1: to get in the car and travel again on Sunday.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, we're driving about an hour and a half. But
- 2:45Speaker 3: do you remember when you were that age, you could
- 2:47Speaker 3: like you were the ever ever what is it called
- 2:49Speaker 3: the ever ready bunny? You just go and go and
- 2:50Speaker 3: go like you didn't care. It's only when you're old
- 2:52Speaker 3: like Cassi, you go, oh, I need a day off.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And you know when I felt that more than anything
- 2:58Speaker 1: is when I saw Casey Corporal run out the court
- 3:00Speaker 1: for the Giants on the weekend, which we will talk about,
- 3:03Speaker 1: but every part of me hurt watching her running onto
- 3:07Speaker 1: the court and thinking, oh my god, three kids, lady,
- 3:09Speaker 1: you're a freak.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you were thirty eight when you were retired.
- 3:12Speaker 3: She's sounding a little bit older than you were when
- 3:14Speaker 3: you were retired.
- 3:15Speaker 1: That is true. It's funny because I don't know how
- 3:17Speaker 1: many people have asked you if you're coming out of
- 3:19Speaker 1: retirement off the back of this. I've had it like
- 3:21Speaker 1: three or four times. I said, Yeah, if I was
- 3:23Speaker 1: still her age, I would have totally come out of
- 3:25Speaker 1: retirement because I'd only retired not even a year before that.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Certainly not now.
- 3:30Speaker 2: However, what's she been doing for the six years?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Well, she works at a gym, so she's at the
- 3:36Speaker 1: gym every day, so the base fitness has been good.
- 3:38Speaker 1: She's been playing social netball and was actually part of
- 3:41Speaker 1: the World Indoor Championships which New Zealand won. That was
- 3:46Speaker 1: last year or the start of this year, so she's
- 3:48Speaker 1: been on court. But it's a completely different obviously level
- 3:53Speaker 1: of their ball. And funny because Julie, so this is interesting.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Julie Ranger on Tuesday, Well she threw the rod out
- 3:59Speaker 1: trying to get a bite on Tuesday, to which the
- 4:02Speaker 1: initial response from Casey was absolutely not understandably, So Jules
- 4:08Speaker 1: persisted a little bit because, as Casey said in an
- 4:10Speaker 1: interview before the game, Julie's one of those people you
- 4:13Speaker 1: can't say no.
- 4:13Speaker 2: To how did Julie know to reach out to her? Though,
- 4:16Speaker 2: I mean to, oh, who can I think of? Let
- 4:19Speaker 2: me get someone who's retired six years ago, and you
- 4:22Speaker 2: know she's good to go.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, she no doubt had a list of experienced
- 4:26Speaker 1: players and Casey was on there. So she put the
- 4:29Speaker 1: feelers out on Tuesday, got a hard note to start with,
- 4:32Speaker 1: and then she she told me she ended up getting
- 4:34Speaker 1: a what would it entail? From Casey? And she's like, right,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I've got up. I'm going to pull her in now.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So on Wednesday she was on a plane, and then
- 4:43Speaker 1: on Thursday she was on the court training track, and
- 4:45Speaker 1: then obviously Sunday the game. But I saw her just
- 4:48Speaker 1: prior to the game on Sunday, gave her a big huggles,
- 4:51Speaker 1: all excited, and I said, how are you going and
- 4:53Speaker 1: she said, yeah good. I'm actually like it's been good.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's been a whirlwind, but I'm excited to be here.
- 4:58Speaker 1: And I said, how did you go on your first
- 5:00Speaker 1: session on Thursday when you got to the team, And
- 5:03Speaker 1: she's like, no, it was actually okay, Like I don't
- 5:05Speaker 1: feel too far off the pace. But she said, the
- 5:08Speaker 1: thing that saw the most have a guess which part
- 5:12Speaker 1: of her She said it was her core r. Yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 1: just from like twisting and having to land and be strong.
- 5:22Speaker 1: She said that of everything, that was the part that
- 5:24Speaker 1: was really tender, which you know you can imagine.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I was going to say a pelvic floor must that's.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Too after three young kids.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Looked great, but it was just interested to look at
- 5:34Speaker 2: her and go that wisdom doesn't go away. The fitness
- 5:37Speaker 2: might not be as I thought. She did bloody great job,
- 5:40Speaker 2: but you know, the netball wisdom that she brought. It
- 5:43Speaker 2: was fantastic and great to see Erin O'Brien move into
- 5:46Speaker 2: gold offense and for the two of them to play
- 5:48Speaker 2: together and really give Sophie Yarbon and Kira Kia Austin
- 5:56Speaker 2: a run for their money. It was great.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I know you said that Julie had a less a
- 6:00Speaker 3: message from former Diamonds goalkeeper before me Killye Devy on
- 6:05Speaker 3: Friday night. She was very upset that her and I
- 6:07Speaker 3: hadn't got a call. I mean, kill six and I'm
- 6:11Speaker 3: early fifties, but like you know, Julie didn't you never know,
- 6:14Speaker 3: I mean my phone didn't ring.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You just want the writer refusal. It's going to be contemplating.
- 6:21Speaker 3: No, we just wanted to be able to share memes
- 6:24Speaker 3: of the Golden.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Girls thank you for being a friend, which was that funny.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yes, Catherine was part of the chat to and we
- 6:30Speaker 3: were just like, you know, sending memes of you know,
- 6:34Speaker 3: old women in leotards going oh my god, to be asked.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I used to have, you know, back in the day
- 6:40Speaker 1: when they had like aerobics was big, and they had
- 6:43Speaker 1: their leotards that had wore g string ones but you
- 6:46Speaker 1: wore them over the top of your bike pants. Yes,
- 6:49Speaker 1: I used had one of those.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I am not surprised you had that.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I'm not surprised.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Did you have leag warmers as well?
- 6:57Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, that was that was a bit
- 6:59Speaker 1: before my time. But anyway, how good too. Was heritage
- 7:07Speaker 1: around while we're talking about stuff happening on the weekend.
- 7:10Speaker 1: So obviously I think all the clubs pretty much are
- 7:12Speaker 1: across this sort of stuff right now. They're pretty good
- 7:14Speaker 1: at their looking after their alumni. But the Swifts had
- 7:17Speaker 1: heritage around and Sydney sadly, Elizabeth, you couldn't get down there,
- 7:20Speaker 1: but they had all of the old players there and
- 7:25Speaker 1: they had function beforehand and all got to go watch
- 7:28Speaker 1: the game and have some photos with each other on
- 7:30Speaker 1: the court, meet the Swifts, all that sort of stuff.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It's really great and I love that, you know, so
- 7:34Speaker 1: many of the clubs are doing it, and Brinnie Aikle's
- 7:36Speaker 1: been one of the best, I think in that making
- 7:39Speaker 1: sure all of the current players know who's come before them. Apparently,
- 7:43Speaker 1: right throughout the week, in the lead up to Heritage
- 7:45Speaker 1: Weekend Round Weekend, they had been watching clips of all
- 7:48Speaker 1: the old Swifts of playing. Yeah. I thought, oh my god,
- 7:53Speaker 1: was it black and white?
- 7:57Speaker 3: They would have been looking at that going man. The
- 7:58Speaker 3: game was slow backman. But I do think it's interesting
- 8:01Speaker 3: because last year it became apparent how important acknowledging your
- 8:06Speaker 3: history is. Because when the Swifts were going through that
- 8:08Speaker 3: rough patch, all the old girls went to Heritage Round
- 8:13Speaker 3: and it was on a Sunday afternoon, and we all
- 8:15Speaker 3: went and had a drink at a bar afterwards near
- 8:18Speaker 3: the courts, and some of the Swifts came back, and
- 8:21Speaker 3: you know, without breaking confidence, they all said to Briany,
- 8:24Speaker 3: how great it was to be able to speak to
- 8:26Speaker 3: us and see that we still love them, even though
- 8:28Speaker 3: they were in the middle of a really rough trot
- 8:29Speaker 3: and they weren't going to make finals. It was going
- 8:31Speaker 3: to be a difficult year. They felt that that was
- 8:33Speaker 3: really important. We weren't just there for the good times
- 8:35Speaker 3: and saying yeah, we're with you when you win, but
- 8:37Speaker 3: when things are bad, you know they're still you know,
- 8:41Speaker 3: we're still part of that club, We're still part of
- 8:42Speaker 3: that heritage. And it was really it was an interesting
- 8:44Speaker 3: perspective that I hadn't considered that. You know, that's the
- 8:48Speaker 3: value of your ex players, bringing them back and seeing
- 8:52Speaker 3: that you know that you're still part of the same
- 8:54Speaker 3: club they support whether you're winning or losing.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And it's interesting because I know the Swan had their
- 9:00Speaker 1: twenty year reunion two of the Premiership this weekend at
- 9:03Speaker 1: the Swan's game, and I think Jude Bolton and somebody
- 9:06Speaker 1: else addressed the guys before the game and they got pumped,
- 9:10Speaker 1: absolutely smashed on the weekend. But I think Jude's posted
- 9:13Speaker 1: something recently saying, well, clearly that pre game four.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Tough though, isn't it for the newer clubs. I mean,
- 9:20Speaker 2: obviously the MAVs are eighteen months old, they're barely toddlers,
- 9:23Speaker 2: and you know the Giants established twenty seventeen, they can't
- 9:27Speaker 2: draw on that, and you know that is an incredibly
- 9:30Speaker 2: valuable thing to be getting those sorts of perspectives from
- 9:32Speaker 2: players who have been through dark times too and go, yep,
- 9:36Speaker 2: don't this is this will pass.
- 9:39Speaker 3: And that's true. But for those younger clubs, the players
- 9:41Speaker 3: who are there now, they're the ones with the opportunity.
- 9:45Speaker 3: They're the culture for twenty years time. You know that
- 9:47Speaker 3: they'll come back and it will be fantastic for them,
- 9:50Speaker 3: So there's that real opportunity for them to set that
- 9:52Speaker 3: up as well.
- 9:54Speaker 1: So good, Hey, Elizabeth, can I big thank you for
- 9:57Speaker 1: your key word in word as well?
- 10:00Speaker 2: Oh yes, that's a few people who had a good
- 10:03Speaker 2: ready good.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Do you know what's funny?
- 10:06Speaker 4: Though?
- 10:06Speaker 3: I got it, and I did it really early in
- 10:08Speaker 3: the morning, it was like six am, and then I
- 10:10Speaker 3: was stinging, stinging to set. Look, we've got a little
- 10:13Speaker 3: chat for you know, if you're not if you're not
- 10:15Speaker 3: Caroline or Catherine or me, you need to know there's
- 10:17Speaker 3: little chat and we often share our word or results
- 10:19Speaker 3: when we're that don't get it at all or we
- 10:21Speaker 3: get it into And I was so stinging to put
- 10:24Speaker 3: it on there, but I thought I didn't want you
- 10:25Speaker 3: to to go, oh yeah, good on you, because we
- 10:27Speaker 3: haven't done it yet. So I waited until midday you
- 10:30Speaker 3: both came back and you hadn't done it.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That was the best because they were straight away. We
- 10:37Speaker 1: both knew what yours was because we knew a key word.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But so my question to you now is what's the
- 10:41Speaker 1: new first word? Because I'm sport.
- 10:44Speaker 3: It was and now I'm like, I don't know whether
- 10:46Speaker 3: to go and do some research on like what five
- 10:48Speaker 3: letter words haven't come up yet so that or whether
- 10:52Speaker 3: I go with something like audio or ocean. I'm still
- 10:57Speaker 3: and do you guys have any any suggestions.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I don't know mine's reads because I just feel like
- 11:03Speaker 1: it's good common letters and a couple of deeply ironic
- 11:08Speaker 1: and you know I love to.
- 11:13Speaker 3: That's what I would do if I wasn't doing word exactly.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I've got another question for you, though, Where do you
- 11:18Speaker 1: do your wordle be honest?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Oh, like, where do I Where do I sit when
- 11:23Speaker 3: I do it? Is that where I often do it
- 11:26Speaker 3: in the morning, when I'm just lying in bed trying
- 11:28Speaker 3: to work myself up to get out of bed, or
- 11:33Speaker 3: sitting on the loop. Who doesn't die?
- 11:35Speaker 1: It's always for poos, isn't it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I feel so differently about you know what?
- 11:41Speaker 1: You don't pooh?
- 11:44Speaker 3: No, I save connection for poos because you know, I
- 11:46Speaker 3: have to sit for a long time and think about connections.
- 11:48Speaker 1: So oh, yes, connections is hard, can be hard.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Shouldn't be spending more than ten minutes on the toilet you?
- 11:53Speaker 3: Why not?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Well, doctors are telling us that that that is not
- 11:56Speaker 2: good for you, So don't don't be sitting there for
- 11:59Speaker 2: a long time. You got stuff hanging out your backside
- 12:01Speaker 2: that way, This is.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Not the week to be talking about hanging out the backside.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I've got a colonoscopy this.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Week, and or have you had one before?
- 12:09Speaker 3: Yeah, We've got a family history of about cancer. So
- 12:11Speaker 3: I'm going to go and get it done.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So when was the last one? How often do you
- 12:14Speaker 1: have to have them done? Now?
- 12:15Speaker 3: I should have them maybe five years, but it's been
- 12:18Speaker 3: longer than that.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I had one last year, last year or this
- 12:23Speaker 1: year because dad's got a bowl cancer. So even though
- 12:26Speaker 1: I'm not in the fifty plus, I was like, no,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I'm going to do all the screenings. I'm going to
- 12:30Speaker 1: get it done. But the funniest thing was, so they
- 12:32Speaker 1: give you your scripts for whatever the drugs are, you've got
- 12:35Speaker 1: to get prep yes, that to clean you out. And
- 12:39Speaker 1: I went into the chemist to get it and ask
- 12:41Speaker 1: for it, and he said, has this been prescribed by
- 12:44Speaker 1: a doctor? And I said, well, I've done it for fun.
- 12:48Speaker 1: But then I thought there's probably people that take it
- 12:50Speaker 1: to you lose weight or whatever they're trying to do. Yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 1: I know it didn't occur to me, but I'm like, mate,
- 12:54Speaker 1: this is not part of my Saturday night party. What
- 12:57Speaker 1: are you.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Thinking eating all the white foods for three days and
- 13:00Speaker 3: then pulling tell you oh, anyway, it's you know, I've
- 13:04Speaker 3: been dreading this week and I was supposed to have
- 13:06Speaker 3: it last year and I put it off because I've
- 13:07Speaker 3: been dreading it. I'm like, I just have to do it.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Get it done.
- 13:11Speaker 2: So good when you get it done, though, But if
- 13:13Speaker 2: for those of you who have never had the joy
- 13:16Speaker 2: of the movie PREMP, when it's time to go, it's
- 13:19Speaker 2: time to go. So I have said in my family
- 13:22Speaker 2: my husband had his first one recently. It's like that
- 13:24Speaker 2: bathroom is yours. No one can you, no one can
- 13:26Speaker 2: go in that. You can't go in there just to
- 13:28Speaker 2: do a quick wee. Because if the person needs it.
- 13:30Speaker 2: They need it that second. There is not ten seconds
- 13:33Speaker 2: to spare it is it's happening.
- 13:35Speaker 1: No time to grab your phone to do your word
- 13:37Speaker 1: or No.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I like to do all of the four that I
- 13:46Speaker 2: do together. I'm not talking about the games, not not
- 13:49Speaker 2: my bow movements anymore. I do wordle, I do connections,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I do strands, and then I do the mini crossword
- 13:57Speaker 2: and try to beat my timer and like to do
- 13:59Speaker 2: all four of them together at the one time.
- 14:01Speaker 3: So it's quite a chunk of your day. You're putting
- 14:03Speaker 3: a sign.
- 14:04Speaker 1: There, Well, no, she's smart. It's quite a chunk of
- 14:06Speaker 1: a day.
- 14:10Speaker 2: So your new word, we're not. We're not sure what
- 14:11Speaker 2: it is. But there were a number of dribblers who
- 14:13Speaker 2: got it. So for those of you who didn't hear
- 14:15Speaker 2: Liz's word on word or used to be sport and
- 14:19Speaker 2: she has shared that in the past, and then she
- 14:22Speaker 2: So all three of us got it in one the day,
- 14:24Speaker 2: Li's got it in one, You and I got it
- 14:26Speaker 2: because we pay attention.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Something satisfying about the word genius coming up too, isn't it?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Did you screenshot it? We should have? I screenshoted the
- 14:36Speaker 2: three of us in the chat sharing it. But yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 2: we had some dribblers who also got it as a
- 14:41Speaker 2: result of having listened to this podcast.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So you're welcome.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Dreams can come true. So yours is reads, mine is.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Heart, and you're an audio or an ocean.
- 14:52Speaker 2: No, I used to be CPR, and now that's because
- 14:55Speaker 2: that th, H and R I think are more common
- 14:58Speaker 2: and useful letters than a pe.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Okay, so good to know your heart.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Maybe I might go dream. You just said dreams can't
- 15:04Speaker 3: come true, so maybe should go dream?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Nice? Nice?
- 15:07Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so dream and heart?
- 15:09Speaker 3: All right, what do you cover it?
- 15:11Speaker 1: And you send that to me on reads read?
- 15:12Speaker 2: So, speaking of dreams coming true, I, as you know,
- 15:16Speaker 2: Saturday night, I wasn't able to go to the Swifts game,
- 15:18Speaker 2: but I did watch it on delay without having I
- 15:21Speaker 2: went into a total blackout, so I didn't know what happened,
- 15:24Speaker 2: and man, that was worth doing. But I watched it
- 15:27Speaker 2: at at home. But I was at a hip hop
- 15:30Speaker 2: competition on Saturday night, which I've moaned about them having
- 15:34Speaker 2: kids stuff on a Saturday night. But yes, we came second,
- 15:37Speaker 2: thank you much. Yeah, kids did a great job, and
- 15:39Speaker 2: it was it was so it was so joyful. It
- 15:43Speaker 2: was just such a wonderful thing to be there for.
- 15:46Speaker 2: But they had said it was instead for the dance
- 15:48Speaker 2: competition with a whole bunch of different disciplines. So they
- 15:51Speaker 2: did hip hop, and then before we got the adjudication
- 15:53Speaker 2: on that, we had to listen to another watch another
- 15:57Speaker 2: another group or it was on.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I was watching the Lightning Game on my phone. In
- 16:04Speaker 4: between they were playing music.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Now, this is a children's dance competition, and they played
- 16:08Speaker 2: that song Stacy's mom.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Oh, yes, I love.
- 16:13Speaker 2: That he's a mom, but Stacy's mom And if you
- 16:17Speaker 2: haven't heard this song, that the singer is going out.
- 16:20Speaker 4: With Stacy's mom's daughter.
- 16:22Speaker 2: So Stacy, but then he realizes, well I love Stacy
- 16:25Speaker 2: and then Stacy's mum. And because she's coming out dressed
- 16:29Speaker 2: in a towel in front of her boyfriend, her daughter's boyfriend,
- 16:32Speaker 2: it's so inappropriate. It's it's it's all the levels of
- 16:35Speaker 2: poor parenting, pedophilia. I mean, it's it's very catchy song Fountains.
- 16:40Speaker 1: What's her name? Rachel? She was an Aussie or a
- 16:43Speaker 1: key We model in the film clip do you remember
- 16:45Speaker 1: she was dating Rod Stewart.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Rachel Rachel Hunter?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Okay, was she the mother.
- 16:51Speaker 1: She was the mother of the film.
- 16:53Speaker 3: She was high, she.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Would have had a New Zealand accent. She wouldn't have said,
- 16:57Speaker 2: probably have been Stacy's mom. No, yeah, and I just
- 17:01Speaker 2: thought of all the inappropriate songs and maybe we should
- 17:05Speaker 2: pull together because it's imagine playing that at a netball carnival.
- 17:08Speaker 2: It's the same sort of thing. You know, what about
- 17:09Speaker 2: that girl, Doom Doom dun.
- 17:14Speaker 3: You will be a warmer.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I like big butts.
- 17:19Speaker 5: And again, we should be thinking carefully about our playlists
- 17:27Speaker 5: for events where children are around. Maybe we should make
- 17:30Speaker 5: a no dribble songs that you should not play at
- 17:33Speaker 5: the netball carnival playlist?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, do that? Do that? They'll and share that please,
- 17:38Speaker 1: I'd love that.
- 17:38Speaker 4: And I want the dribblers to pick contributing to it.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Okay, I'll put those two.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Well, we've started with three, there, haven't we, So.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yes, there you go. You're welcome. Now. There's been plenty
- 17:51Speaker 1: of dribblers too that have jumped on the Dubai chocolate bandwagon.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I've noticed, But I have a query.
- 17:57Speaker 4: I was hoping we would go one episode without talking.
- 17:59Speaker 1: No, no, well, we're not talking about that so much
- 18:01Speaker 1: as I want to notice people's storage of it, because
- 18:04Speaker 1: everyone's saying it's got to go on in the fridge.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I don't do chocolate in the fridge, dat you No,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I like, I like it. Of all the things, it's
- 18:11Speaker 1: got to be room tamp.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I don't know chocolate in the fridge. Well, I put
- 18:15Speaker 3: my dark chocolate in the freezer and you get it
- 18:17Speaker 3: out of it's like a dessert. It's like so good.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she's got good teeth obviously.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah. Well that's because I drank a lot of milk.
- 18:23Speaker 3: But but Gord, he told me to put the Dubai
- 18:27Speaker 3: chocolate in the fridge.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Shield to that it's more crunch in the middle or something.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Maybe I don't know.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I didn't like it. Can't really matter, No matter fridge
- 18:35Speaker 3: is going to help my opinion of it. But now
- 18:38Speaker 3: I do put dark chocolate in the freezer and just it.
- 18:42Speaker 3: It's good.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Okay, But you're in the cabin too with me. You're
- 18:44Speaker 1: like the room tamp. Yeah, like just not nor melts
- 18:47Speaker 1: in your mouth straight away.
- 18:48Speaker 3: It goes too quick, like if you go from frozen
- 18:51Speaker 3: like it lasts a bit longer.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah, there's sense in that. Interesting Right Now, we tackle
- 18:57Speaker 1: the big issues here on. I know I've got I've
- 19:00Speaker 1: got that done off my chair.
- 19:02Speaker 3: What about tim tams then freezer, fridge?
- 19:04Speaker 1: Oh no, definitely cupboard as well. Oh yeah, because I
- 19:08Speaker 1: like them to be already kind of melty, a bit
- 19:11Speaker 1: like ready to eat face.
- 19:16Speaker 2: How can we keep tim Tams in the fridge. I'm
- 19:18Speaker 2: just trying to think. We don't know. It's been a
- 19:19Speaker 2: while since we've had tim Tams in the house, but
- 19:21Speaker 2: I think we keep tim I don't know. Maybe they're
- 19:23Speaker 2: in the cupboard last put them.
- 19:27Speaker 1: No, Well, that's true saying it doesn't really matter. The
- 19:29Speaker 1: only thing I do put in the fridge is condensed milk.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It's got to be thicker so you can get the
- 19:33Speaker 1: spoon in the tea.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I have not had condensed milk in maybe three decades.
- 19:38Speaker 2: And it's okay, it's all right for me to not
- 19:40Speaker 2: have it, like I just that's such a thing from
- 19:43Speaker 2: like I do have it either. What do you mean
- 19:46Speaker 2: I can't buy it because.
- 19:48Speaker 1: The whole team. No, I've not had it in probably
- 19:50Speaker 1: a couple of years.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I reckon. Well, back when you lived with us, Catherine,
- 19:54Speaker 3: I was sponsored and he that was and I could
- 19:59Speaker 3: go out to the their shop, which was in their building,
- 20:03Speaker 3: and I could get whenever I wanted, and so Catherine
- 20:05Speaker 3: used to say, get condensed milk. So I used to
- 20:07Speaker 3: bring home boxes of condensed milk. And one morning I
- 20:10Speaker 3: got up and I knew that Katherine had a big
- 20:12Speaker 3: night out because on the counter there was two filli
- 20:16Speaker 3: of fish wrappers and one of those tubes of condensed
- 20:20Speaker 3: milk that was such dry. I was like, yeah, I
- 20:24Speaker 3: think Katherine might have got home been a bit tired
- 20:25Speaker 3: and emotional that night. So that's when you're probably at
- 20:28Speaker 3: your condensed milk peak.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it might have been a fatty boomsticks that couple
- 20:32Speaker 1: of seasons I was living with you, with all the
- 20:33Speaker 1: condensed milk floating around?
- 20:35Speaker 2: Are you still a feeling a fish person?
- 20:36Speaker 3: No?
- 20:37Speaker 1: I don't. I couldn't even tell you the last time
- 20:39Speaker 1: I had macers.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Right, well, that no gross.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I think if I was going to have anything now,
- 20:44Speaker 1: it would be a Junior Burger. They're still the call
- 20:47Speaker 1: on that. Yeah, it's just the cheeseburger with it like cheese.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, just a little tiny thing they always
- 20:54Speaker 1: it just always makes me feel greasy and gross after
- 20:56Speaker 1: I've eaten something like that. But yeah, When was the
- 20:59Speaker 1: last time you had any fast food?
- 21:01Speaker 2: I'm I'm not virtuous. I've had fast food. I don't
- 21:05Speaker 2: know recently. I can't tell you exactly when, but I don't.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I don't when I go to McDonald's, I'll change my
- 21:10Speaker 2: order every time. But the reason I'm asking is that
- 21:12Speaker 2: I had a big argument. I was forced to defend
- 21:15Speaker 2: my position as not hating the filid of fish with
- 21:18Speaker 2: a friend of mine, Jill, who is my age, the
- 21:21Speaker 2: mother of one of my daughter's bestie, and my son,
- 21:24Speaker 2: and they were both coming at me. It's disgusting. Why
- 21:26Speaker 2: would you eat that?
- 21:26Speaker 3: I used to love the fill of fish.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It's just a giant fish finger.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly what I said. They said it's not
- 21:32Speaker 2: real fish. Of course it's not. Do you think the
- 21:34Speaker 2: chicken nuggets are real?
- 21:37Speaker 1: That's real stuff.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I'm not there for a farm to table experience, like.
- 21:43Speaker 3: You know what you're getting, right, so, but but it's
- 21:46Speaker 3: like fish tacos so unusual, but they're delicious, delicious.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Have you heard what's in a thick shake?
- 21:53Speaker 2: I don't want to know. No, you do not. Well, yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and I remember all these rumors going around here. Is
- 21:58Speaker 2: it pink fat? Or something.
- 21:59Speaker 3: You know, I'm not I reckon that to be blown up.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I do too. That's why I was wondering, is
- 22:04Speaker 2: it true or are these urban myths? But before we'
- 22:06Speaker 2: move entirely off biscuits, I've got a house full of
- 22:08Speaker 2: bloody biscuits at the moment because there's a fundraising drive
- 22:11Speaker 2: at school.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So you oh, I need to give you money for them.
- 22:15Speaker 2: For attacking some off my hands. This was not a
- 22:17Speaker 2: reminder of that, but it's like these. I haven't seen
- 22:20Speaker 2: the food fundraiser for the school for years. You know,
- 22:23Speaker 2: we've had the tea towel, the entertainment book. I was
- 22:26Speaker 2: obviously plenty of events and things. But when I was
- 22:30Speaker 2: in high school, we used to have the chocolate fundraisers. Yes,
- 22:33Speaker 2: it was such good chocolate, and I don't like I mean,
- 22:36Speaker 2: I'm looking for it on the internet the other day
- 22:38Speaker 2: and I don't think it exists anymore real.
- 22:41Speaker 1: That's interesting. But because the biscuits I love. I love
- 22:45Speaker 1: that as an option, those little paths, but they're all
- 22:48Speaker 1: individually wrapped in there. I thought it was just going
- 22:50Speaker 1: to be one little packa it's not a big pack
- 22:52Speaker 1: of biggies. But I've nailed them. I took them to
- 22:54Speaker 1: the game and left them on the commentary desk, and they.
- 22:56Speaker 3: You are such a feeder, Catherine, working with you, you
- 22:59Speaker 3: always spring stuff that we shouldn't eat. Yeah, look at
- 23:02Speaker 3: you now you've got a bag of what licorice? Yeah?
- 23:06Speaker 1: At the table.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you're trying to, you know, live a healthy, clean life.
- 23:09Speaker 3: And then Catherine turns up. We've got like everything and
- 23:12Speaker 3: you maybe that.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Were two weeks ago and she promised me cake for
- 23:16Speaker 2: the no Dribble birthday and she ate it herself and
- 23:18Speaker 2: didn't share any So I thought we were having a
- 23:21Speaker 2: fight then that she hadn't declared. But apparently we're all good.
- 23:25Speaker 1: I'm making up with these thoroughly liquorice all sorts of
- 23:28Speaker 1: Are they jam or not?
- 23:29Speaker 2: I appreciate the gesture, but can I tell you what
- 23:31Speaker 2: we're really?
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 23:34Speaker 2: Really, I like licorice. I don't like licorice all sorts.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I like the salty licorice's I'm a pain.
- 23:42Speaker 1: A salty liquoric.
- 23:43Speaker 2: First, what do you mean?
- 23:44Speaker 1: What's salty liquid? What is salty licorice? I've never heard
- 23:47Speaker 1: of that.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Do you know salty Dutch?
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 23:50Speaker 2: No, I've never heard of that it's really good.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Can you get that here obviously somewhere.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Imagine, So yeah, all right, I'll track I'll track some
- 23:58Speaker 2: down for you. I reciprocate. But yeah, obviously it was
- 24:02Speaker 2: the no Dribble birthday on the same day as Barb
- 24:05Speaker 2: Jervis's birthday, and she had a bit of a birthday
- 24:08Speaker 2: celebration at the Swifts game on Saturday night. So I
- 24:11Speaker 2: now am at the bottom of this. So the Shamrocks
- 24:13Speaker 2: organized this for her daughter mel and the Shamrocks Netball
- 24:17Speaker 2: Club organized for Bob to deliver the ball out to
- 24:21Speaker 2: play at the start of the second quarter. And she
- 24:25Speaker 2: didn't know anything about it, apparently, so and of course
- 24:28Speaker 2: she she very diligently walked out, handed the ball over
- 24:32Speaker 2: walked as soon as she got off court, though she
- 24:34Speaker 2: starts dancing and then high five's Brian the acle, but
- 24:39Speaker 2: totally within the rules. It's like she did her job.
- 24:41Speaker 2: She did there was no there was no razzle dazzle
- 24:45Speaker 2: until she'd stepped over that line.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I did feel like she had a bit of a
- 24:47Speaker 1: strut going on on the way out, though I did.
- 24:51Speaker 1: She was living it. Who else was living it? At
- 24:54Speaker 1: the Swifts game was Patrick.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so you went to a dance show too.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I was dying. So I saw him before the game
- 25:03Speaker 1: and some of the Swifts people, and they told me
- 25:06Speaker 1: that this was all planned and gave us heads up.
- 25:09Speaker 1: But they said, we haven't mentioned it to anybody else,
- 25:11Speaker 1: so don't say anything to anyone, because we just wanted
- 25:13Speaker 1: to be a surprise. Anyway, I was it was three
- 25:17Speaker 1: quarter time. When did that happen? Three quarter time? I think?
- 25:20Speaker 1: And I was behind the I was on sideline on
- 25:22Speaker 1: that game, and I was behind the Thunderbird's bench listening
- 25:25Speaker 1: intently because when they come back out of the break,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I'm supposed to give them something about what had just
- 25:29Speaker 1: happened in the huddle. Anyway, I see Patrick get onto
- 25:32Speaker 1: the court and then start to move closer like he's
- 25:34Speaker 1: gonna bust into the dancing. Was like, screw the Thunderbird's bench,
- 25:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna watch. So I just walked away and I
- 25:41Speaker 1: just pretend I can't hear them.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Anyway, because it was quite funny. He was just sort
- 25:44Speaker 2: of loitering near the edge top and then went and
- 25:47Speaker 2: joined like it was a flash mob.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It was sore and the crowd went Banana's.
- 25:53Speaker 2: So on a scale of bananas, more or less than
- 25:58Speaker 2: when Robert Irwin showed up at game.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Oh tough, tough, close to more, I reckon, yeah, because
- 26:08Speaker 1: it's always loud. It's loud in that stadium to it
- 26:11Speaker 1: because it's the design of it. It's quite echo we
- 26:13Speaker 1: but it was very very loud in there on the weekend,
- 26:16Speaker 1: particularly during the Swift's game. It was high decibel sort
- 26:20Speaker 1: of ear piercing stuff.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Well, it was pretty bloody exciting.
- 26:23Speaker 1: It's unreal.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yes, Okay, So before we move too far away from
- 26:29Speaker 2: word and connections and strands and the mini crossword, there
- 26:33Speaker 2: is I have a new obsession online. Have you seen this?
- 26:37Speaker 2: HCF has HCF has this team Health thing, which I've
- 26:42Speaker 2: got to say, I don't really understand it, but they
- 26:45Speaker 2: have an online game that you can play now to
- 26:47Speaker 2: get your score for your health. And so first of all,
- 26:50Speaker 2: there's a quick reactions thing on your phone that you've
- 26:54Speaker 2: got to tap the each netball that lights up, and
- 26:57Speaker 2: they've got sort of nine or ten of them across
- 26:59Speaker 2: the court, and then you've got thirty seconds to do that.
- 27:02Speaker 2: And then there's a matching pairs one cards one which
- 27:06Speaker 2: I don't match. One of the one of the in
- 27:08Speaker 2: game activations at the Giants yesterday. So you've got to
- 27:10Speaker 2: do your pairs there, and then there's a third one
- 27:14Speaker 2: that is escaping me at the moment. But yeah, it's
- 27:18Speaker 2: a memory. No, no, it's it's it's netball. It's sun
- 27:21Speaker 2: Come Super memory one.
- 27:23Speaker 1: No.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and so you can compete with yourself and get
- 27:28Speaker 2: a higher score. So obviously I am spending forever on
- 27:32Speaker 2: this damp, tapping the little flashing netballs and the turning
- 27:35Speaker 2: the cards. I'm trying to get my score. Do you
- 27:37Speaker 2: the app for this or is it just on the line?
- 27:40Speaker 2: Was just a link I think through from long Facebook
- 27:43Speaker 2: and you can win a package for the Grand Final.
- 27:46Speaker 2: So but it's more for me that it's like, first,
- 27:49Speaker 2: first of all, my score was good, and it's like,
- 27:51Speaker 2: screw good. And so now I've only got up to
- 27:54Speaker 2: very good. I haven't managed. I don't know what is
- 27:56Speaker 2: maybe above that. Maybe very good is the top. I
- 27:59Speaker 2: doubt it. Imagine there's an excellent thing. But yeah, so
- 28:02Speaker 2: that's that is my current unhealthy obsession at the moment,
- 28:07Speaker 2: which is now adding to the hours that you get
- 28:09Speaker 2: your screen time report every week and go, oh my god,
- 28:12Speaker 2: I'm destroying my lie what I.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Was about to say. Do you know what I'm hearing?
- 28:15Speaker 1: You're not getting much else done? Inday, No, But this
- 28:19Speaker 1: AGCF Team Health score, everybody is a little perplexed about,
- 28:23Speaker 1: and certainly it's on our Facebook page of what is it?
- 28:27Speaker 1: What does it mean? Now? I should be able to
- 28:30Speaker 1: tell you, but I'm still trying to get my head
- 28:32Speaker 1: around it as well. In a nutshell, So there's three
- 28:37Speaker 1: different categories, So there's physical, mental, and support, and each
- 28:41Speaker 1: of those categories has got different stats under it and
- 28:45Speaker 1: they calculate those add them together. That gives you an
- 28:48Speaker 1: overall score based on last year's season. When these scores
- 28:54Speaker 1: were over one hundred and eighty, there was about eighty
- 28:57Speaker 1: percent of wins last year, so that the one hundred
- 29:00Speaker 1: and eighty is kind of the magic mark based on
- 29:02Speaker 1: last year's results. So in your physical category, it counts deflections,
- 29:07Speaker 1: count blocks and rebounds. In the mental one, it's goals
- 29:12Speaker 1: missed goals, So obviously your goals, you subtract your missed
- 29:16Speaker 1: goals and then your gains. And then support is all
- 29:19Speaker 1: the stuff that a team would do to help each
- 29:21Speaker 1: other out, so it's assists and it's pickups, so you're
- 29:24Speaker 1: roughly looking at trying to get sixty points in each
- 29:27Speaker 1: of those categories. It adds up to you one eighty.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So it's interesting because they obviously fluctuate a heap during
- 29:34Speaker 1: the game, but also every week they're very different and
- 29:37Speaker 1: that's how you get your averages. So on the weekend
- 29:40Speaker 1: before we started the Swifts Thunderbirds game, the Thunderbird's health
- 29:44Speaker 1: score was higher than the Swifts. But that's because they'd
- 29:47Speaker 1: had a great week the week before in some department.
- 29:49Speaker 1: But yeah, it's interesting, but that's what it's based on.
- 29:52Speaker 1: If that gives anyone any sort of clarification.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Good, I think that's really interesting, right, And it's not
- 29:57Speaker 3: a predictive thing in terms of like won't go out
- 30:00Speaker 3: and go well, we need to get above.
- 30:03Speaker 1: One ad oh god, not thinking about that.
- 30:05Speaker 3: But it also but when you're a spectator, you can
- 30:07Speaker 3: see how it's not just one thing. It's actually a
- 30:11Speaker 3: lot of different things that come together that that make
- 30:16Speaker 3: up the win. And it's just really interesting to see
- 30:19Speaker 3: the interaction of those things. You know, sometimes when you
- 30:21Speaker 3: break it down, you might be you might over index
- 30:23Speaker 3: on one thing, and so I take you to go
- 30:25Speaker 3: back and say, well, it's really obvious where our improvement is.
- 30:29Speaker 3: And whilst we want to keep that over index there,
- 30:31Speaker 3: we want to move these other two up. So I think,
- 30:34Speaker 3: I mean, I love the way you can play with
- 30:36Speaker 3: stats to tell a story, and I think it helps
- 30:37Speaker 3: you tell the story through the course of the game
- 30:39Speaker 3: too in commentary. So you know, the net points came
- 30:43Speaker 3: out when when we were commentating, and people will be like, oh,
- 30:46Speaker 3: what's that all about? But it actually just helps you
- 30:47Speaker 3: tell a story. It doesn't. It doesn't mean that that's
- 30:50Speaker 3: how you pick your player of the match or whatever.
- 30:52Speaker 3: But when you have an idea of who's done what,
- 30:54Speaker 3: sometimes you know you look at the net points and
- 30:57Speaker 3: you go, oh, well, I thought player has been best
- 31:01Speaker 3: on court, but she hasn't scored high in net points
- 31:03Speaker 3: because the stuff that she's done well, which you can
- 31:06Speaker 3: see because you've played the game, isn't a stat, right,
- 31:09Speaker 3: and it might be just working the ground or whatever, right,
- 31:12Speaker 3: So like it, but you can it actually just helps
- 31:17Speaker 3: you understand who's playing well and what's happening in a game.
- 31:19Speaker 3: So I actually think those things are really useful to
- 31:21Speaker 3: help you tell the story. So the actually of health
- 31:24Speaker 3: check when it comes up I'm like, okay, well that's interesting.
- 31:27Speaker 3: That helps me understand the story of this game.
- 31:29Speaker 2: And it takes time for these things to become a
- 31:31Speaker 2: bit enough cosin't so it's like it will over if
- 31:35Speaker 2: they stick with it. You know, hopefully next season we
- 31:37Speaker 2: will all be more like, Okay, now I understand what
- 31:39Speaker 2: I mean. That was a very helpful summary.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Again.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Good, and maybe when I'm obsessed with this game, which
- 31:47Speaker 2: probably should give a break to maybe I'm aiming for
- 31:50Speaker 2: sixty points in each category. There you go, that's maybe.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That's that's how they assess it.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I'll bring cake next week and I'll get my sixty
- 31:57Speaker 1: points support.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I've heard this before, though, Well we're over you for
- 32:03Speaker 2: some cake anyway to my best Enough about the cake,
- 32:08Speaker 2: Let's talk about the Let's talk about some of the games.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Let's talk about that Swift Thunderbird's game that was so
- 32:14Speaker 2: I just want to point out I was only a
- 32:16Speaker 2: couple of points from Tipping Genius on the weekend, so
- 32:19Speaker 2: it was a really high. We had about seventy five
- 32:23Speaker 2: percent of tipp has got Bingo on the weekend all
- 32:27Speaker 2: four games, right, not U, Liz and not me? We
- 32:30Speaker 2: both got two?
- 32:31Speaker 3: Did I?
- 32:32Speaker 2: I don't know. I've lost interest in watching you and.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I don't know what I've got either, because I put
- 32:39Speaker 1: mine in and I've left them. I'm just going with
- 32:41Speaker 1: the flow though. So how many people got it.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Like three hundred and fifty four pingo?
- 32:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so how many people got right on the money
- 32:47Speaker 1: with the margins.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. But our tipper who
- 32:52Speaker 2: wins the Valor voucher this week is Lindy Tips. We
- 32:55Speaker 2: had quite a few people there who were We met
- 32:57Speaker 2: a few yesterday. It could be me for me and
- 33:00Speaker 2: they both tipped Fever to win. So but for those
- 33:04Speaker 2: who are wondering if people have picked the same obviously
- 33:07Speaker 2: there are going to be people who will pick the
- 33:08Speaker 2: same margins. Whoever puts it in first is what it
- 33:11Speaker 2: comes down to as to who gets the winner. And
- 33:13Speaker 2: I did make a promise to follow something up. The
- 33:15Speaker 2: way you get four points, I lied last week. You
- 33:18Speaker 2: get all the away games if you don't put your
- 33:20Speaker 2: tips in. But if, as last week was, it was
- 33:23Speaker 2: all away games, you can't get bingo. You can get
- 33:25Speaker 2: four points because that's the default, but you can't get
- 33:29Speaker 2: the bonus point for because that is for correctly tipping
- 33:33Speaker 2: all of the gamest slackers extra point anyway, So I
- 33:37Speaker 2: was nearly a genius on that Thunderbird Swift's game. But
- 33:40Speaker 2: oh gosh, how exciting, so.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Good, so good for such a long part of it
- 33:45Speaker 1: as well, because the last time they played each other,
- 33:47Speaker 1: the Thunderbirds were out of the blox and won that
- 33:49Speaker 1: first quarter exactly the same as what happened on the weekend,
- 33:53Speaker 1: and then the Swifts just came back at them straight away.
- 33:56Speaker 1: But it just took a lot longer in this game,
- 33:58Speaker 1: right down to the wire. Teabirds up at eight at
- 34:02Speaker 1: halftime and then still up at by three at three
- 34:05Speaker 1: quarter time, and probably some of the changes may be
- 34:10Speaker 1: made for the Adelaide Thunderbirds took a bit of sting
- 34:12Speaker 1: out of their side, so particularly Hannah Petty when she
- 34:15Speaker 1: went to the bench just after halftime. But she wasn't well,
- 34:19Speaker 1: which none of us. During during the week, she'd spent
- 34:23Speaker 1: a bit of time vomiting, and apparently she had a
- 34:26Speaker 1: little vomit during the game as well. She was amazing
- 34:31Speaker 1: out of her life, I know, right like she even
- 34:34Speaker 1: said so. She was on pivot yesterday and she even
- 34:36Speaker 1: said to them she might need to have a tactical
- 34:38Speaker 1: vomit and feel unsick and feel sick. Sorry every week.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Because she was out, she got her highestness and net
- 34:43Speaker 1: points or net points whatever they're called these days. In
- 34:46Speaker 1: the first half of that game.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Wow, she was amazing, Like, yeah, she's just Eddie everywhere,
- 34:51Speaker 3: wasn't she through the course of well while she was
- 34:54Speaker 3: on court. Isn't that interesting? Though? Sometimes when you like
- 34:57Speaker 3: you don't feel well, you play better because you don't
- 34:59Speaker 3: have time to get worried or anxious or overthink things.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Just like I was going to get out of here
- 35:03Speaker 3: and run.
- 35:04Speaker 1: So unlike unlike the three or four of us. When
- 35:06Speaker 1: we're in Adelaide before a semi final Maymber, we all
- 35:09Speaker 1: got poisoning.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Did We had to have needles?
- 35:11Speaker 2: And oh it was it food poison or was it
- 35:15Speaker 2: a twenty four hour flu?
- 35:17Speaker 1: Oh no, this wasp athletes. I'll have you know.
- 35:22Speaker 3: That was postseason. We'd get the shardonnay flu. But no, no,
- 35:25Speaker 3: And I remember, like Jan Troyo manager having to get
- 35:27Speaker 3: the doctor in and we had needles and oh god,
- 35:30Speaker 3: that was horrible. Yeah, there was either food no, none
- 35:32Speaker 3: of us food poisoning or a virus. But we were
- 35:35Speaker 3: so sick and it might have been.
- 35:36Speaker 1: There was at least four of us in the starting
- 35:39Speaker 1: seven that were up all night, and.
- 35:42Speaker 3: None of us played anywhere near as good as hand
- 35:44Speaker 3: A Petty played on the weekend. So no, yeah, she was, Yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 3: she was phenomenal. I thought it was a ripping game.
- 35:50Speaker 3: And I just think the Thunderbirds defense line is a
- 35:54Speaker 3: bit underrated. Like you know, when Shimia Sterling was announced
- 35:58Speaker 3: that she wasn't going to fit the season with them,
- 36:01Speaker 3: we all went, oh, well that's the Thunderbirds, but you
- 36:04Speaker 3: just see them like they all we.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Didn't all do that. Some of us said, no, no.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Well no they were. They're just like they're just they
- 36:14Speaker 3: work so well as a unit. They were confusing the space.
- 36:17Speaker 3: It was, Yeah, they did really well.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Wilson, She's an unbelievable athlete. I don't think I wrote
- 36:25Speaker 1: them off, but I certainly was like, no, they won't
- 36:27Speaker 1: get a three peep, They're no chance. But on the
- 36:31Speaker 1: on the weekend, I have changed my tune for sure,
- 36:34Speaker 1: and it is definitely back on the table for me.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Latanna is incredible given she was She's five centimeters short,
- 36:41Speaker 1: so it's not a huge amount compared to Grace but
- 36:43Speaker 1: her elevations probably about fifty five centimeter is better.
- 36:47Speaker 3: She's unbelievable and the work has to be done out
- 36:49Speaker 3: the front right. And I thought that the Thunderbirds, you know,
- 36:51Speaker 3: frontliner defenders, did that really well on Saturday. They just
- 36:56Speaker 3: slowed the boards.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I don't know if either of you heard when Ryanie
- 37:00Speaker 2: Akle was talking to talking to camera. I think it's
- 37:04Speaker 2: amazing that we can hear from the coaches during the game.
- 37:06Speaker 2: It's it's insane. So we heard from Tanner Robs and
- 37:08Speaker 2: then we heard from Briany Akle and the Swifts were
- 37:12Speaker 2: down then, and I just I really love the way
- 37:15Speaker 2: she communicated. She said, they're not doing their jobs at
- 37:17Speaker 2: the moment, so she was she was direct without being harsh,
- 37:20Speaker 2: you know. But it's like, look, let let's not sugarcoat this.
- 37:23Speaker 2: In order for us to turn this around, we need
- 37:25Speaker 2: to be real in our language about what's actually happening
- 37:27Speaker 2: there on court. And it was such a great lesson
- 37:30Speaker 2: in leadership is that it's like you don't always have
- 37:34Speaker 2: to be just saying soft, gentle, the nice words, that
- 37:38Speaker 2: it's actually sometimes having the truth spoken in a respectful
- 37:43Speaker 2: and gentle way is going to be a whole lot
- 37:45Speaker 2: more effective. It was so great.
- 37:46Speaker 1: She also pinpointed too, though, that she talks to players
- 37:51Speaker 1: a certain way depending on how she knows they will
- 37:53Speaker 1: take the feedback. So she was quite critical of Helen
- 37:57Speaker 1: House being very direct to Helen, very direct, but she's like,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I know that she can handle that. That fires her
- 38:02Speaker 1: up to everybody, which I think is just such an
- 38:06Speaker 1: important piece of the puzzle, isn't It's the same with
- 38:08Speaker 1: any player and a team if you're a leader, which
- 38:10Speaker 1: obviously you'll know exceptionally well as you can't treat everyone
- 38:13Speaker 1: the same because people don't react the same, do they.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but I used to put rockets up.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Everybody, true, and it did work for everyone exactly.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Some people hate it, but no, you're right, and I
- 38:27Speaker 3: think that's good leadership, is good coaching, right to understand
- 38:29Speaker 3: who reacts to what, and I think players react like
- 38:33Speaker 3: younger players now react probably differently like back when we
- 38:36Speaker 3: were playing, if a coach wanted to give you a
- 38:39Speaker 3: kick in the butt, they give you a kick in
- 38:40Speaker 3: the butt. And whereas now I think things are a
- 38:43Speaker 3: bit more Coaches have to be a bit more sophisticated
- 38:46Speaker 3: about how they deliver feedback. I think Briany does a
- 38:51Speaker 3: really good job. You can see it. I also thought
- 38:53Speaker 3: with her, just looking at her interview, she was really
- 38:56Speaker 3: she was not anxious, like this was a really tight game,
- 38:59Speaker 3: and was really quite relaxed. And I think that's a
- 39:01Speaker 3: coach who knows that you know, she's done everything she can.
- 39:04Speaker 3: You can just go to let the players deliver it
- 39:06Speaker 3: if they can.
- 39:07Speaker 1: But do you know what too, though, Like even if
- 39:09Speaker 1: they had lost, as I said to her a few
- 39:11Speaker 1: times in the postgame and and also the press conference,
- 39:16Speaker 1: it's good to have a loss or to be challenged.
- 39:19Speaker 1: You not one of those really good seasons. I'm just
- 39:23Speaker 1: a big time yeah.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Anyway, they've got They've got Fever this week, and I
- 39:27Speaker 3: think that's going to be a massive game as well.
- 39:30Speaker 1: M Cracker, I reckon that might be a Grand Final
- 39:34Speaker 1: preview Actually.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Yeah maybe Thunderbirds like Fever. Thunderbird Swift seem to be
- 39:41Speaker 3: sort of the pacesetters at the moment, don't they. But
- 39:43Speaker 3: you sort of feel like Lightning.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Two weeks ago, I thought it was going to be
- 39:51Speaker 2: a Lightning Swift Grand Final, and then I saw them play.
- 39:54Speaker 3: You don't like, you don't know what's going to happen
- 39:57Speaker 3: when you get your top four. That's like anything can
- 39:59Speaker 3: happen in the finals, and you know.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing. You only have to win one
- 40:03Speaker 2: game at a time.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly right.
- 40:05Speaker 1: And there's plus I think this second half is going
- 40:07Speaker 1: to be so different because they half of them hadn't
- 40:10Speaker 1: seen really LAMBD and they hadn't seen Wiki, particularly for
- 40:15Speaker 1: the Swifts. And then obviously there's other sides that have
- 40:17Speaker 1: got new players, but not as new as probably those
- 40:19Speaker 1: two that now they've had a good look at and
- 40:20Speaker 1: they've had a good touch on for the first time,
- 40:22Speaker 1: and they will readdress how they play at the second time.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Like that bottom four five Birds, Giants, Vixen's and Mavericks
- 40:30Speaker 3: like they're out of the four at the moment, so
- 40:32Speaker 3: they'll be pushing. But even if they don't make the
- 40:35Speaker 3: top four, I reckon, they'll all have a really big
- 40:37Speaker 3: say in what the top four will be. Yeah, Like
- 40:39Speaker 3: you know, you see really improved performances and you're like,
- 40:42Speaker 3: I reckon, we're gonna have a really tight second half
- 40:44Speaker 3: of the season. And I think those teams in the
- 40:47Speaker 3: bottom four, I don't think that'll be I don't think
- 40:50Speaker 3: that'll stay and I reckon we'll see some of them
- 40:52Speaker 3: really get up for big performances.
- 40:55Speaker 2: So I would like the crowd at the Lightning games
- 40:58Speaker 2: to come and train the crowd at a Giants game,
- 41:01Speaker 2: because I was in the in the crowd yesterday and
- 41:04Speaker 2: the Giants crowd is incredibly supportive. They're very angry at
- 41:07Speaker 2: the umpire quite frequently. There's lots of feedback game, but
- 41:11Speaker 2: there's no there's no momentum in their cheering. It's sort
- 41:16Speaker 2: of it's it's up and then it's down. Lightning even
- 41:19Speaker 2: when they're behind, as they were with with Swifts in
- 41:23Speaker 2: that game, and they clearly weren't going to win, but
- 41:24Speaker 2: they came home in that in that fourth quarter with
- 41:27Speaker 2: a bunch of super shots. The Lightning crowds are going
- 41:29Speaker 2: ape shit, you know, whatever's going on. They're behind and
- 41:32Speaker 2: and you think, oh this is We're obviously at a
- 41:34Speaker 2: Grand Final and the and the Lightning are winning it.
- 41:37Speaker 2: But you know the and I know Daryl Milton has
- 41:40Speaker 2: has mentioned this on Facebook that Giants need some good
- 41:43Speaker 2: hype people. I will acknowledge the under under eights from
- 41:47Speaker 2: Bringelly Netball Club who were doing their absolute best to
- 41:52Speaker 2: keep it going through through the whole thing. They were.
- 41:54Speaker 2: You know what we need is seven year old girls
- 41:58Speaker 2: leading us in cheering through this thing. And because I
- 42:01Speaker 2: think Amy Slager used to play for that club, but
- 42:04Speaker 2: they were all up there in their little green uniforms
- 42:06Speaker 2: and I'm glad I wasn't sitting near them because I
- 42:08Speaker 2: was quite a way away and they were lowed, but geez,
- 42:10Speaker 2: they were good.
- 42:11Speaker 1: They brought the spirit Amy Catherine Slager, you mean that's cute, yes,
- 42:19Speaker 1: But the Giants game, let's have a chat about that
- 42:21Speaker 1: because obviously devastation around Jodiel is it an ACL tear.
- 42:26Speaker 1: So she had surgery on Friday, which is great. She's
- 42:29Speaker 1: through the surgery. She's now on the path to getting
- 42:34Speaker 1: a rehab all done and getting back onto the court.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I know it's going to take a while, but to
- 42:39Speaker 1: bring in Casey Corpora, Julie Fitzgerald and the Giants have
- 42:43Speaker 1: copped a task about why you'd go for a retired
- 42:48Speaker 1: player five years retired to it's a long time instead
- 42:51Speaker 1: of a pathways player. And we asked Julie that yesterday
- 42:55Speaker 1: just before the game, and her response is spot on.
- 42:57Speaker 1: So she's already got a very young team at youngest
- 43:00Speaker 1: team in the competition to put another twenty year old
- 43:03Speaker 1: in the mix is not I don't think it's They've
- 43:06Speaker 1: still got to win games, right, and it's not helpful,
- 43:08Speaker 1: so she said last year. Last week, when Jodi and
- 43:11Speaker 1: Ward came off injured, Jamie Lee Price was the only
- 43:13Speaker 1: one on court over the age of twenty three. That
- 43:16Speaker 1: is a very very young side. Not to say they
- 43:19Speaker 1: can't get the job done, and it's great experience, but
- 43:22Speaker 1: they still need to be learning every week, and they
- 43:24Speaker 1: still need to be pushing and trying to win games.
- 43:27Speaker 1: So that's why she went for Casey to bring some
- 43:31Speaker 1: of that experience in, and you could see it. She's
- 43:33Speaker 1: definitely not back at her best, but in all of
- 43:36Speaker 1: the huddles, Erin O'Brien was like a sponge just taking
- 43:40Speaker 1: all this information in. At one point they had a
- 43:42Speaker 1: huddle and Casey was directing to the defense end and Landrigan,
- 43:49Speaker 1: who was their youngest recruit who debuted the week before,
- 43:52Speaker 1: was on the sideline, and I caught her just staring
- 43:55Speaker 1: at Casey with stars in her eyes. Players like that,
- 44:00Speaker 1: to be able to have someone of her experience come in,
- 44:03Speaker 1: you can't put an amount on that, can you.
- 44:07Speaker 2: She was sensational. I just thought her presence on court
- 44:11Speaker 2: and the motivation that she gave the plays, and to me,
- 44:15Speaker 2: it looked like Eron O'Brien was doing what we saw
- 44:18Speaker 2: Latania Wilson do the week after Shimiya Stirling Humphreys left,
- 44:21Speaker 2: going this door is open for me, I am I'm
- 44:26Speaker 2: not stepping through it, I am running through it. I
- 44:28Speaker 2: thought Erin O'Brien had a sensational game. I thought Casey
- 44:31Speaker 2: was magnificent. It was great, and I loved seeing Matisse
- 44:34Speaker 2: leather Barrow out there for I think she was there
- 44:36Speaker 2: for twol sixty minutes. Yeah, that was great. And she's he.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Called her record for supershots. Yeah great, unreal.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Yeah, ripping game, ripping game.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I know that's my expert commentary. I was just thinking
- 44:51Speaker 3: about Casey Corpua and it would be like having a
- 44:55Speaker 3: coach out there. Yes, So I'm just thinking about like
- 44:58Speaker 3: when I was I think twenty I was or twenty two.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I was in the New South Wales team with Kelly
- 45:03Speaker 3: Devrey and I'm normally I was normally a goalkeeper, but
- 45:06Speaker 3: I had to play gold defense and Keeley was behind me,
- 45:08Speaker 3: and just the amount I learned from sitting out in
- 45:11Speaker 3: front of her was amazing and I was thinking about
- 45:14Speaker 3: Aaron O'Brien. It would be like having your own personal
- 45:17Speaker 3: coach behind you chirping at you through the game. I
- 45:19Speaker 3: think that, Yeah, it's hard, isn't it, because you go, well,
- 45:23Speaker 3: you know why at the Giants bring through young athletes
- 45:26Speaker 3: all they are, there's a heap of them they are,
- 45:28Speaker 3: so you know maybe and the thing you have to
- 45:31Speaker 3: think about as a coach is, yeah, you can give
- 45:33Speaker 3: a young player the opportunity, but you also have to
- 45:36Speaker 3: be careful that they don't get destroyed because you put
- 45:38Speaker 3: them out and they lose their confidence because they get
- 45:40Speaker 3: smacked by you know, you know diamonds players who are
- 45:45Speaker 3: who have something to prove. So I just think you've
- 45:48Speaker 3: got to you've got to weigh all that up as
- 45:50Speaker 3: a coach. And yeah, we'd all like more opportunities for
- 45:53Speaker 3: Australian born players, but you know, these coaches have also
- 45:57Speaker 3: got their KPIs that they've got to you know, they've
- 45:59Speaker 3: got to a chair and they've got to get wins,
- 46:01Speaker 3: and they've got to think about all these other things
- 46:03Speaker 3: as well.
- 46:04Speaker 2: It was Joe Harton injured.
- 46:06Speaker 1: No interesting, Yeah, she was there, she warmed up, she
- 46:12Speaker 1: was all part of it. But again I think just
- 46:14Speaker 1: another really disheartening performance from the Giants in that they're
- 46:18Speaker 1: in the competition, they're in the Challenge. Every week it's
- 46:22Speaker 1: been the same. There's maybe one quarter that lets them down,
- 46:25Speaker 1: so whilst they're on the bottom of the ladder, it's
- 46:28Speaker 1: not a true indication of their season, I don't think,
- 46:30Speaker 1: which is really tough for their fans and we've heard them,
- 46:33Speaker 1: you know, arcing up about it all. But that was
- 46:35Speaker 1: a classic example. They were only down by two a
- 46:38Speaker 1: three quarter time to a team that was in the
- 46:41Speaker 1: Grand Final last year. It was a bloody good game,
- 46:44Speaker 1: just unfortunate that lost their way a bit at the end.
- 46:46Speaker 3: And they've got young players. They'll get it all together
- 46:48Speaker 3: and when they do, they'll have a massive say in
- 46:50Speaker 3: what the top four looks like.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Mm hmm, yeah, So what they had Hope White out there,
- 46:55Speaker 2: who is not twenty, Aaron O'Brien who is twenty maybe
- 46:59Speaker 2: I'm not sure how old how old she is, but
- 47:02Speaker 2: Matisse leather Barrow is quite young, and Sophie Sophie Dwyer
- 47:08Speaker 2: and I don't know, Amy Sliger is not ready for
- 47:10Speaker 2: a superannuation yet either young too, is she?
- 47:13Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 47:13Speaker 2: Two twenty three like these are. It's it's amazing and
- 47:17Speaker 2: it's quite exciting actually, And Giants fans hang in there
- 47:21Speaker 2: because I don't know. That's what being a fan is.
- 47:25Speaker 2: My husband's a paramatter. Eels fans just terrible.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you've got to stick with that.
- 47:30Speaker 3: My son, well, I was. I've been a Penrith fan
- 47:32Speaker 3: since I was at school because that was my local
- 47:35Speaker 3: team and so I am in rugby league and so
- 47:38Speaker 3: I told my son he had to cheer for the
- 47:40Speaker 3: Panthers and he thought that the Panthers always one because
- 47:42Speaker 3: he's nine and the Panthers have won from the trot
- 47:44Speaker 3: and he's learning this year about what it's like to
- 47:47Speaker 3: stick with your team. And I'm like, mate, go back
- 47:49Speaker 3: to the when they were the Chocolate Soldiers. So you
- 47:51Speaker 3: know that you're so right, that is what being a
- 47:53Speaker 3: fan is all about. So when you do get success,
- 47:55Speaker 3: you really it tastes so good because you know what
- 47:57Speaker 3: it's been like.
- 47:58Speaker 1: He is ostie ready to ship?
- 48:00Speaker 3: Is he? No? He just he just gets upset. You know.
- 48:03Speaker 3: You know.
- 48:05Speaker 2: When my son chose his NRL team, he chose the
- 48:09Speaker 2: RABBITO South Sydney Rabbits because he likes rabbits. And it's
- 48:11Speaker 2: like I didn't have the heart to tell him that
- 48:12Speaker 2: the rabbit Os used to skin rabbits too, that that
- 48:15Speaker 2: was what they were named after. People used to try
- 48:17Speaker 2: to stay alive during the depression by skinning rabbits. But anyway,
- 48:20Speaker 2: he went along. Pete won something at some corporate events,
- 48:23Speaker 2: so they went along to the Grand Final that the
- 48:25Speaker 2: rabbit Os were in and got to meet the coach
- 48:29Speaker 2: at that stage, McGuire, and go into the sheds and
- 48:32Speaker 2: Lewis has got this big signed poster up and that's
- 48:34Speaker 2: his first year as a rabbit Os fan. Every year
- 48:37Speaker 2: subsequently has been a hollow Oh dude, please don't please
- 48:42Speaker 2: don't think this is what it's like supporting a team
- 48:45Speaker 2: in any sport. You pick one and you'll have more
- 48:47Speaker 2: bad years than good years.
- 48:49Speaker 3: But that it's true. And if you jump on during
- 48:51Speaker 3: a bandwagon, like, if you jump on the bandwagon during
- 48:54Speaker 3: the good years, like, you're really setting yourself up for disappointment,
- 48:56Speaker 3: aren't you.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Well, this is Pete who's a Paramatta Eels fan and
- 49:03Speaker 2: a Warratarz fan and a long suffering fan of many sports.
- 49:07Speaker 2: When I got him on board with you are now
- 49:10Speaker 2: a Swifts fan. And then last year it was not
- 49:13Speaker 2: a good year. He said, have you just given me
- 49:14Speaker 2: another losing team? I said, O, hold the faith, this
- 49:17Speaker 2: will come good. This is this is an aberration.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Oh is he coming to the GF then is he
- 49:21Speaker 1: coming down with it? Yeah?
- 49:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Well we need we need him to work
- 49:26Speaker 2: at the at the function.
- 49:29Speaker 1: That is true, but I also need him to be
- 49:31Speaker 1: able to find you in the crowd.
- 49:33Speaker 2: But so Jodian board ACL, ruth ariang ACL. Now this
- 49:37Speaker 2: is the thing, isn't it that that with ACL injuries
- 49:39Speaker 2: are more prevalent in female athletes than men.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yes, now, I said, you know what, I didn't even
- 49:44Speaker 1: know this until towards the end. But so when you're menstruating,
- 49:48Speaker 1: apparently your ligaments are far more lax and you're more
- 49:51Speaker 1: likely to have an injury.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Who knew, Well, certainly not the sports scientists, because they've
- 49:55Speaker 2: not bloody studied women until quite recently. They thought, oh,
- 49:58Speaker 2: maybe women are different to men, and they're just starting
- 50:00Speaker 2: to learn that this whole thing, the ACL is a
- 50:02Speaker 2: much more prevalent in female athletes and male for exactly
- 50:05Speaker 2: that reason.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's interesting isn't it. And early pregnancy too, your
- 50:09Speaker 3: ligaments get loose, so you know, there's a few things
- 50:14Speaker 3: that need to be researched because women aren't just small
- 50:16Speaker 3: versions of men. So yeah, but it is it's great
- 50:19Speaker 3: that like this light is getting shot. But Catherine, youw
- 50:22Speaker 3: and I had no idea.
- 50:24Speaker 1: I had no idea. And meanwhile, women aren't small versions
- 50:26Speaker 1: of men. Have you seen me? Oh? Speaking of men?
- 50:30Speaker 1: Small men's what about the one that came up to
- 50:33Speaker 1: me at the gym last week? Now, I put this
- 50:35Speaker 1: on my socials and the amount of people that sent
- 50:38Speaker 1: back laughing emojis of all the things to come and
- 50:42Speaker 1: school me on. At the gym, I was on the
- 50:44Speaker 1: seated row. You can't stuff that up? How do you
- 50:47Speaker 1: do that wrong? But so his argument was he came over,
- 50:51Speaker 1: excuse me, I think the weights are meant to go
- 50:53Speaker 1: all the way down to the bottom. I'm like, okay,
- 50:56Speaker 1: thank you so much, and he kept going. I said,
- 50:59Speaker 1: I know what I'm doing, thank you though, like trying
- 51:01Speaker 1: to be really polite, but I was like, my leavers
- 51:03Speaker 1: are so long, I can't get the weights to hit
- 51:05Speaker 1: the bottom. How am I supposed to do that? Anyway?
- 51:08Speaker 1: Leave me alone. Yes, go away.
- 51:09Speaker 3: What makes people think they can come and speak to you?
- 51:12Speaker 1: But he would never have done that to a guy.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I wouldn't have thought, so not a chance.
- 51:17Speaker 1: In the world. Anyway. My trainer was standing nearby when
- 51:21Speaker 1: it all happened, and he just looked at me and
- 51:23Speaker 1: started last.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Someone should tell that man he's lucky to escape with
- 51:28Speaker 3: his life, O dear.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Okay, so we have a bit of a tech problem.
- 51:34Speaker 2: We raised this last week that the gen x is
- 51:36Speaker 2: are struggling with the technology. We know that there are
- 51:39Speaker 2: wind beneath our Wings nominations on instagram sending through to us.
- 51:45Speaker 2: We don't We can't get them, and by we I
- 51:47Speaker 2: mean can't. But if you could, please, if you have
- 51:52Speaker 2: made a win beneath our Wings nomination, send it through
- 51:55Speaker 2: to us on Facebook Messenger and we will we will
- 51:59Speaker 2: get that one because we would very much like to
- 52:01Speaker 2: have the win beneath our Wings nominations. We do not
- 52:04Speaker 2: have one this week. Although we know it's like the
- 52:06Speaker 2: Schrodingers Win Beneath our Wings nomination, we have them and
- 52:09Speaker 2: we don't have them. Actually same not.
- 52:11Speaker 1: The good thing about it is, though we don't have
- 52:13Speaker 1: to make more scrunches out of.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Top we are running. We are going to run low soon,
- 52:19Speaker 2: so listen. I'm going to make that Spotify playlist and
- 52:22Speaker 2: I'll put a link up on the Facebook page. Thanks
- 52:24Speaker 2: to those of you who are inviting people to join
- 52:26Speaker 2: the Facebook community, please share this podcast, as you know,
- 52:31Speaker 2: we need to build our listenership here and you know
- 52:34Speaker 2: you're giving people a gift, you're not asking them a favor,
- 52:37Speaker 2: so please do share it. This week, I will be
- 52:40Speaker 2: very interested to watch the results of the musical chairs
- 52:44Speaker 2: competition going on in Bryant Park in New York. And
- 52:47Speaker 2: how much fun does that sound? Well, we just lost Liz.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Oh. Yes, actually a musical.
- 52:53Speaker 2: A musical chairs competition in June. It's an evening I
- 52:56Speaker 2: think chas hundreds and then they get it down to
- 53:00Speaker 2: one champion, and I just thought that would be so fun,
- 53:03Speaker 2: you know, music and chairs.
- 53:05Speaker 1: And they'd have to be pretty strict on the rules,
- 53:07Speaker 1: so that sounds like a real McCloy's.
- 53:08Speaker 2: So it's not one giant loop of chairs. They have rounds.
- 53:13Speaker 2: They have sort of about thirty chairs in a circle
- 53:15Speaker 2: and you're put into different groups and then obviously they
- 53:18Speaker 2: bring it down and there are finalists. But I just
- 53:21Speaker 2: I think that I really want someone to organize that here.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Maybe that should be a Grand Final activation Netball Australia
- 53:28Speaker 2: because I would love to play musical checks.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Let's do it at our live event, oh god after champagne.
- 53:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be great. A world championship duck duck goose.
- 53:40Speaker 1: That's the hardest part about that at our ages, getting.
- 53:45Speaker 3: You do it once and once only.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just pulled it, Hammy, I'm out.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Yeah. So we do have a live event the night
- 53:52Speaker 2: before the Grand Final in Melbourne. The remainder of the
- 53:54Speaker 2: tickets for that will go on sale after the tickets
- 53:58Speaker 2: for the Grand Final go and sales, So I think
- 53:59Speaker 2: that around the twenty first, twenty second of June. So
- 54:02Speaker 2: thanks to those who have already bought tickets, but we
- 54:05Speaker 2: are holding back two thirds of them for people who
- 54:07Speaker 2: just need to know they've got their tickets first before
- 54:10Speaker 2: they are making a decision about coming. So but yet,
- 54:13Speaker 2: that's probably all we've got time for this week. We
- 54:15Speaker 2: are in the fourth quarter of this podcast, and you
- 54:19Speaker 2: know this is super Shot Territory. So if either of
- 54:21Speaker 2: you have a great zinger for us in the last
- 54:24Speaker 2: minute of the podcast, now's the time. To land it.
- 54:27Speaker 3: I'm going for the world.
- 54:28Speaker 2: No, going for the world. But yeah, everyone, have a
- 54:34Speaker 2: great week. Don't forget to put your tips in for
- 54:36Speaker 2: the Valor Dribblers tipping comp And yeah we're this is
- 54:39Speaker 2: this season of sun Corps super neeple Jus gets more
- 54:43Speaker 2: and more and more exciting and harder to tip for
- 54:45Speaker 2: some of us, although apparently not for three quarters of
- 54:48Speaker 2: the gold. Oh it's a really hard run, is it, Carolyn?
- 54:52Speaker 3: Is it?
- 54:53Speaker 1: I love it?
- 54:54Speaker 2: Anyway, that's all from us. I'm Carolyn Swindell.
- 54:57Speaker 1: I'm cathocox Or. You need to put Funky Cold Medina
- 54:59Speaker 1: on there on the playlist? Yeah, okay, that just came
- 55:02Speaker 1: to me.
- 55:03Speaker 2: All right, well you put it on there. I'll put
- 55:04Speaker 2: the link in.
- 55:05Speaker 1: But okay, can we can add to it?
- 55:06Speaker 2: Well that's the whole point. It's going to be a
- 55:08Speaker 2: playlist that people can can.
- 55:10Speaker 1: Put some Oh that's even better.
- 55:12Speaker 2: All right, it's going to be no dribble. We're going
- 55:15Speaker 2: to crowdsource this information from the wisdom of the dribblings.
- 55:18Speaker 2: It's going to be the weirdest playlist ever. Let's finish
- 55:21Speaker 2: this and.
- 55:22Speaker 3: And I'm loseellus. I'm ready to finish it to go.
- 55:26Speaker 3: You've got to go.
- 55:26Speaker 1: For your guys to do.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Have a great way.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Bye bye every why by
