- 1:05When God calls, we say yes.
- 1:10Hello and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:14I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:16Anderson.
- 1:16And joining me today is the amazing Carrie Angewerden, a member of our Women warriors of Light advisory board.
- 1:23And today we're here to talk about the beautiful truth that God doesn't just listen to your voice, he listens to your soul.
- 1:31And we see this all over in the Bible.
- 1:34For example, with Hannah in 1st Samuel, chapter 1, verse 13, she was praying at the doors of the temple for a child.
- 1:42And the scripture says she was pouring her heart out to God.
- 1:47Only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard.
- 1:50The priest Eli found her like this.
- 1:52She was able to explain that she was pouring her heart out to God.
- 1:56And Eli became God's voice and and told her that he had hurt her and would answer her prayer.
- 2:02And he did.
- 2:03Let's jump to the New Testament and look at the story of the woman with the issue of blood who had been sick for many, many years.
- 2:10She heard of Jesus and she knew that she wanted to go and be healed of him.
- 2:16Like so many others, she had a plan.
- 2:18And she said within herself, if I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
- 2:26And she did.
- 2:27And Jesus sensed her faith immediately and turned to talk to her and praise her for her faith.
- 2:34I love another verse from the Psalms where David testifies, thou understandest my thought afar off, for there is not a word in my tongue, but lo, oh Lord, thou knowest it all together.
- 2:47Isn't that beautiful?
- 2:49He understood David's heart, his prayer in his mind and in his soul.
- 2:54I love the verse In Hebrews, chapter 4, verse 12 that says, says that God is a quote, discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
- 3:04Isn't that beautiful?
- 3:05He doesn't need your vocal cords to understand your deepest needs and desires.
- 3:12We've talked about this silent connection before, about how God can walk with us even in high stakes moments when we speak to him in our hearts.
- 3:21There have been so many times as I've been having conversations, and it's usually with a loved one who is in strife at the moment and they are just weeping or tired or their emotions are extremely high.
- 3:35And you know, I'm sitting there kind of with my eyes wide open going,.
- 3:40I don't know what to say.
- 3:42I don't know how to handle this.
- 3:45I'm kind of at a loss.
- 3:46Maybe I've been talking to them for a while and nothing is clicking.
- 3:50And I'm at that point where I'm.
- 3:52Like, dear God, please help me.
- 3:55I don't know what else to say.
- 3:56I don't know what else to do.
- 3:58Help me guide my thoughts, guide my words.
- 4:01And this is all silent.
- 4:03And it's amazing.
- 4:04Every time I do it, something happens.
- 4:08And you know, at the end of it, I'm just like, whoa, wow, that.
- 4:15Turned out better than I thought.
- 4:16And that's when I realized it wasn't.
- 4:19Me,.
- 4:21It was him helping me know.
- 4:23What to say because I offered a simple prayer, right?
- 4:26If God hears a thought, he also hears a feeling.
- 4:30Sometimes our thoughts aren't even words.
- 4:32They are just a heavy weight or a deep yearning.
- 4:36Harry has a powerful insight.
- 4:37She's now going to share on how God translates those feelings.
- 4:41Say, that reminded me of the scripture in 1st Samuel 16, that the Lord seeth not as man seeth.
- 4:48And I think we sometimes get certain ideas in our head of what something should look like because we're looking at outward appearances.
- 4:56But God is always looking at the heart.
- 4:58And I think he hears our heart.
- 5:01I don't even think we have to even be thinking it so much as what the feelings are in our heart.
- 5:06I think he can feel those as if those were words too.
- 5:10I don't know if that's true, but I would like to believe that because.
- 5:14God hears and knows our thoughts, we can be 100% authentic with him.
- 5:19We don't have to filter our prayers for politeness.
- 5:21And isn't it great to know that he can handle our raw, unedited feelings and thoughts, even the messy parts?
- 5:29I'm past the point of censoring what I say to him, he knows everything I'm thinking anyway.
- 5:37And so I really feel like I.
- 5:39Can tell God anything.
- 5:41He can handle my anger, he can handle my stress, he can handle my grief, he can handle my questions that I have.
- 5:50Nothing is too big or too great or too surprising to God that He's going to be, oh, she's crossed the line now.
- 6:00I never.
- 6:01I don't want to talk to Tamara anymore.
- 6:03Do you know what I mean?
- 6:04And so sometimes I am super.
- 6:06I tend to be a very open and frank person anyways, but with God, it's like 100%, you know, if I feel super awkward about something, I'm going to talk to him about it.
- 6:18If I feel angry about something, it's God.
- 6:21I don't want to feel this way anymore.
- 6:23But here's how I'm feeling right now and help me to process this so I can get back to that place.
- 6:27Of peace, you know?
- 6:28But he.
- 6:29He can take it all.
- 6:31He can take it all as probably the bestest friend in the whole wide world.
- 6:37Because he's never going to leave us.
- 6:38So, my friend, your mind is a sacred.
- 6:41You and God can meet at any time.
- 6:44Whether you're offering a silent, panicked prayer.
- 6:47In a meeting or just sitting in your car with a heart too heavy for words, he hears you.
- 6:53You never have to wait for a formal moment to find a listening father.
- 6:58To help you tune into that internal frequency, we have a free gift for you.
- 7:02You can download our Roadmap to Revelation, six steps to hearing God in your daily life.
- 7:08And you can also download the free Receiving Light and Revelation audio meditation that goes along with it to help you prepare to better hear him and discern his whispers to you.
- 7:20The link is in the notes below.
- 7:22When you feel like God is distant, turn to step two, finding your divine frequency.
- 7:27It helps you identify those quiet pings of thought that are actually God's answers.
- 7:32We also invite you to use step six, the evening review, and write down a moment where you saw or felt him today, or ask him to show you where he showed up.
- 7:42When you record those heart to heart miracles or whispers or signs of his love, they can become your anchor.
- 7:49So, my friends, never forget that God is as close as your next thought.
- 7:53And until next time, may you arise.
- 7:55Do it God's way.
- 7:57God strong.
