- 0:50SPEAKER_04: Thank you so much.
- 0:51SPEAKER_04: It's an honor to be here.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: You guys should be honored.
- 0:54SPEAKER_04: Say, Mom, I'm honored to be here.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: Hi.
- 0:59SPEAKER_04: Is this so awkward?
- 1:00SPEAKER_04: Is this your first time like at a studio with cameras looking at you with a mic?
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Is it weird?
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Not really.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: I don't feel I don't feel like it's that weird.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: It was more weird like building up to it.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Like it's like walking ahead.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: But now this is cool, right?
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: This is like nothing.
- 1:14SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:15SPEAKER_04: So you guys are here because I had Sophia on once before.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:21SPEAKER_04: And I loved being able to laugh.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: To stop your laugh.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Your little sister was more normal than you.
- 1:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she was so cool.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: She actually was on twice.
- 1:31SPEAKER_04: She was a two-time guest on Local Legends.
- 1:34SPEAKER_04: Um, she talked about the first time about how she conned me into getting her hedgehog.
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: Um shout out to Boba.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: He be happy at his family in Mesa.
- 1:47SPEAKER_04: Um and then what was the second time?
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, she talked about school.
- 1:51SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 1:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:51SPEAKER_04: So that's kind of why what I want to talk about on this episode.
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:58SPEAKER_04: Now the reason you guys are my local legends here is because 14 years old was the age that I completely remember.
- 2:08SPEAKER_04: Like I like it, like as it was yesterday.
- 2:11SPEAKER_04: Like I loved being that age and on.
- 2:14SPEAKER_04: Like high school was the best time of my life.
- 2:17SPEAKER_04: And you guys just graduated eighth grade.
- 2:20SPEAKER_04: Um and you have the coolest next couple of years to look forward to.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Um, and I just want to know, like, if I could put myself back at 14 years old, like I wish I had this opportunity.
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: Like, what does it feel like to just graduate eighth grade?
- 2:37SPEAKER_04: You were the top dogs of that school, probably since you were in first grade, really.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: You've been to school together, in school together forever.
- 2:45SPEAKER_04: What did it feel like coming to the end of graduating?
- 2:49SPEAKER_04: And what are your thoughts about going into high school and starting from, you know, like you're the youngest, going into a whole school of, you know, you know a ton of people there, but the majority of people you have known, they're complete strangers.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: Like, what does that feel like?
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: I'm hyped.
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: You are?
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: It's it's almost like bittersweet because like I'm gonna miss that school.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Like, I've been there since preschool.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm obviously I'm still going to school with like some of my friends, some come to Chaparral with me, but like you got people going to Rofi, Notre Dame, like all over.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And it's like it's bitters, bittersweet.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: But I'm excited to start high school, though.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: You're not nervous?
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's a little nerves, but like, no, like everyone, everyone does high school.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Just go do high school.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, have fun.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: How do you feel?
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: I feel good.
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: How'd you feel about your experience at Cup Ridge?
- 3:36SPEAKER_04: Are you gonna miss that?
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: I mean, a little.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: Like some people are going to different schools and I'm not gonna see them.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: So yeah.
- 3:43SPEAKER_04: I know that stinks.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:45SPEAKER_04: Now let's talk about the reputation that you guys had at that school.
- 3:52SPEAKER_04: What do you think your reputation was in school?
- 3:56SPEAKER_04: Because you obviously know, I mean, it it's life.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: Like you always, that's why you have to carry yourself, you know, respectful.
- 4:03SPEAKER_04: You have to respect yourself, respect people that you come in contact with because it's a reputation.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: You build a reputation of yourself.
- 4:09SPEAKER_04: What do you think teachers in that school from because a lot of them are still there, right?
- 4:14SPEAKER_04: First, second, third school.
- 4:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what would they say about you guys?
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: How do you think you left that school reputation-wise?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: That's a crazy that's a question I've never thought of.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: I don't even know.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Like, do you think they all loved you?
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Elementary school's teachers.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah, yeah.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Elementary for sure.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Sixth grade and seventh grade, I was a little crazy, but I feel like eighth grade year I kind of chilled out.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Chilled out a little mellowed out.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I think they'll remember me as like a very energetic outgoing.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, not I don't really like to sit down.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: More I'm always outgoing.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I think they'll remember me as like someone like that, like always is speaking, always is like talking.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Something like that.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: What about you?
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: Crazy.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: I'm just like, I'm always talking.
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:06SPEAKER_04: So crazy in a sense?
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: Did you get in trouble a lot?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:11SPEAKER_04: Did you get in trouble a lot?
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Seventh grade year, I was in trouble every day.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: With who like specific teachers or a bunch of them?
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's there's like teachers that would I'd be in trouble with more than others.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: But like it's not like I'll like only get in trouble from one person.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Like only get in trouble from like them.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Like I was there's something I was like more than others, others, like they're like a little more fraction, fraction heavy.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I don't know.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I was in trouble a lot seventh grade year.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: This year though, really, like the infraction terms, like I think I had one more in like two weeks of seventh grade than I did this whole year.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: I only had like maybe seven or eight this year.
- 5:48SPEAKER_04: And how do they base infra like at the beginning of the year?
- 5:51SPEAKER_04: Do they have a list of things that will cause an infraction?
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Like how does that they this year they actually they didn't do this any other year, but this year they did it and like they really cracked down like chewing gum in class was an infraction.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Um speaking out was like speaking out, like keep disrupting class.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Like they they really cracked down this year.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: I'm seeing it.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they changed it to PCs, they call it like parent contacts now.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: So like really like they like got a lot stricter this year.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: I don't really think it helps.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Like, it doesn't help anyone.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Like when I'm in class, like I'm not thinking, like, oh crap, I can't get a parent contact.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Like, right.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: I don't think it helps anyone.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: The only thing I think it does is really like when I get that, like when she's like, I'm gonna call your mom.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Like, that doesn't like make me like be like, okay, now I'm gonna listen for you.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Like, that's makes me that makes me like if anything, like a little bit like upset.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Like, right, why like all I did was like talk out, like blurt out the answer.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Because I like I'm trying to engage in the sorry, I'm trying to engage in the class.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Like, what do you would you rather everyone just like sit back and like do nothing?
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Like if anything, that just makes me like, like, dang, like, if it's like that, then I'll just like be like that.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: I don't think they help at all.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: No.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: But unfortunately, what I got out of it, because I seventh grade for him, I I feel like I don't I feel like you didn't get that many fraction seventh grade.
- 7:11SPEAKER_04: It was for me as his mom, it was this year that was out of control.
- 7:16SPEAKER_04: And I I think to your point, they do.
- 7:19SPEAKER_04: They a lot of teachers do want you guys to sit up, sit down, shut up, let them do their lesson.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: And if they ask a question, they want you to raise.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 7:29SPEAKER_04: It's very they they're they're, I mean, I kind of get it in a sense because they their job as teachers is to you to understand the lesson.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: That way you could pass a test, that way you could take these standardized tests, pass it, and then they did their job, right?
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:44SPEAKER_04: But I felt like, especially this year being a parent to getting all these calls and all these, you getting in trouble all the time.
- 7:52SPEAKER_04: Felt like there were so many more, you know, there was different ways that they could have engaged with you guys and not just thrown thrown fractions infractions.
- 8:00SPEAKER_04: Because ultimately, infractions, if you got a certain amount, then you would get suspended, right?
- 8:06SPEAKER_04: Now, if you get suspended, then you don't go to school.
- 8:08SPEAKER_04: I don't know who that benefits.
- 8:10SPEAKER_04: Like it almost it's like it's benefiting that teacher because the disruptive kid is not school.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:16SPEAKER_04: Like that's kind of how I felt.
- 8:18SPEAKER_04: That that's what was happening.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_04: Um and I feel like with you this year, like what made you like why this year as opposed to seventh grade?
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: Like, what did you do different that you think?
- 8:31SPEAKER_04: Or do you just think it's specific teachers that were kind of I don't know if I did anything different.
- 8:37SPEAKER_03: I just had like more friends in my classes.
- 8:40SPEAKER_04: So you just fooled around more.
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:43SPEAKER_03: Having fun laughing.
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: I got in trouble for that.
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: Were you like, did you fear do you guys fear teachers?
- 8:50SPEAKER_04: No.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: No.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: No.
- 8:51SPEAKER_04: I always feared, like, I was always scared of teach.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: That's why I'm like, I I'm just and not to compare you to Sophie, even though it's hard not to, just because and not comparing you in a mean way, but like I have a daughter and she has an experience in school and I have a son, and he and you guys are, you know, it's not like she blurts out things.
- 9:10SPEAKER_04: She's sitting and she's like She's a fourth grader though.
- 9:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's true.
- 9:15SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 9:16SPEAKER_04: I don't see her continue.
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: Like who gets in trouble?
- 9:19SPEAKER_04: Who gets in trouble most of the time?
- 9:20SPEAKER_04: Are girls getting infractions?
- 9:22SPEAKER_03: Not that much.
- 9:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, if like they dress wrong, maybe not they didn't really even do that.
- 9:26SPEAKER_04: But they're not really blurting out and having fun with their friends.
- 9:30SPEAKER_04: Are they doing it?
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: I mean, no, that's the thing.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: They're sneaky about it.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Like they'll be like hold on.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: It's not sneaky, they're smarter about it.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: You can say that, but like also like it'll be like, like, for example, like this year, we had a we had a built-in snack break.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: So coming from second to third period, we'd have a snack, right?
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Every single day, the girls would like eat snack like on the other side of like where everyone, you're not allowed to go there.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: So towards the end of the year, they got caught doing that.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And instead of doing that, they they went, oh, I'm sorry, again, they went downstairs and they um they like ate snack down there, and you're not allowed to do that either.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: And it's like the thing is like they told them they're not allowed to do that and they still did it.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: And like, sure, like maybe they didn't know they're down there, but like if all us boys, like if they didn't like see us for like two weeks in a row, they would 100% like look for us and they would notice and they would be mad at us.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Like, they just don't crack down on the girls as hard as they crack down on the boys because they think like, I don't know, maybe we're up to no good, which I don't know.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's a little unfair.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:30SPEAKER_04: Do you think they're sexist?
- 10:32unknown: 100%?
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:35SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: It's a mill.
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: It's a mill?
- 10:37SPEAKER_04: What does it a mil mean?
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: Like 100%?
- 10:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, 100%.
- 10:42SPEAKER_04: So no girls got in trouble in your grade.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's not like the whole time, but like not as much as us, of course not.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: No.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: Do you guys have respect for your parents?
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: You have respect for me.
- 10:57SPEAKER_04: Do you think Michael has respect for me?
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:00SPEAKER_04: A thousand.
- 11:01SPEAKER_04: I do.
- 11:02SPEAKER_04: He was just yelling at me this whole time.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Doesn't mean he doesn't have respect for you.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: He booked a tea time without even asking me.
- 11:08SPEAKER_04: Who's paying for your tea time?
- 11:10SPEAKER_04: I will.
- 11:10SPEAKER_04: It's five bucks.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: You won't do that.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, do you think that's true?
- 11:12SPEAKER_04: Do you get do you get allowance at 14?
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: So who pays for your you just ask for things and they just give it to you?
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, my mom gets me everything I everything I need, not everything I want.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: That's she said that before.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: And I still obviously I still get things I want, but it's not like like I get she puts a place over my head, water, food, and I still get things I want.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: It's just like not like, I don't know.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I get everything I need and a lot of things I want.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: So no chores though?
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: You don't have to like make your bed, take it.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't we don't call them chores.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Like, it's like that's just like helping around the house.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Cause like my mom says, like, if I'm gonna live in her house, like, yes, I'm gonna help her out.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Like, if I need to take the trash out, like, just take the trash out.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Like, that's not a chore.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: It's really not hard.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: It takes 30 seconds, just take the trash, take it out.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Like, she even like ties it for me.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: Like, all I have to do is put it in the trash can.
- 12:06SPEAKER_04: So you don't complain when she said, Bennett, can you take this out?
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not gonna act like I'm perfect.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I'm like, I wanna do that.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: But like, I mean, yeah, if she asked me to take out the trash, I would take out the trash.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: It's not hard.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: How about you, Mike?
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Do you think you have chores?
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: No, I don't think so.
- 12:25unknown: Okay.
- 12:25SPEAKER_03: It's just like it's just annoying when you like say walk the dog.
- 12:28SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna, but you just don't have to keep saying my mom doesn't ask me to walk the dog.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: We don't take our dog on a walk, though.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: You gotta walk these doodles, they're crazy.
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: Or brush your teeth.
- 12:37SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: It's just ingrained that I have to tell you to do a million things.
- 12:42SPEAKER_04: I feel like if I don't tell you, you're not gonna do it.
- 12:44SPEAKER_04: I will.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: On a scale to one well scale of one to ten, rate me as a mom.
- 12:49SPEAKER_04: Be honest, because there's a hammers on you.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: An eight?
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: What could I do better as your mom?
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Oh no, you do a lot.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say nine.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'll take it.
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: Is there anything that I can improve on?
- 13:07SPEAKER_04: Cooking.
- 13:09SPEAKER_04: Your dad could be.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we don't need you to go.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: Well, your dad you get fed, but you'd like me to be more of like Actually, no, I'm fine.
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, we got dad.
- 13:19SPEAKER_04: Okay, we have dad.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna bump it to a 10 now?
- 13:24SPEAKER_04: I can't be perfect.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: No, no one can.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Anything else?
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: That I could improve on as your mom?
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Do you feel your phone?
- 13:35SPEAKER_03: Says you get how about you get off your phone?
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: I do get off my phone.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: You're turning more into your father, and it's very frightening because it's the things that bother me about him that nag.
- 13:45SPEAKER_04: I love him too, but the other the other night we're having a movie night, which was so cute.
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: Like we were putting our phones down, and Mike, I I had to answer a text for work.
- 13:55SPEAKER_04: See, you can never get off.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: And just he sounded like Jason.
- 13:58SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, stop, I'm trying, I'm trying.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd be like, I remember we'll watch a movie, and my mom will go on her phone, and I'll be like, see, go tell me to get off my phone.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: And she'd be like, I'm ordering Goshi.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: You want to eat, right?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: See, I do the same thing.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: Instacar, I'm ever the phone is everything.
- 14:15SPEAKER_04: It's not like I'm doom scrolling all the time.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: I'm looking at a bank account at times, um, booking us plane tickets.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: Don't touch that.
- 14:23SPEAKER_04: Um, yeah, I'm doing a lot of things.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: Um, one to ten, rate your parents.

- 15:06SPEAKER_04: God, you guys are great kids.
- 15:08SPEAKER_04: What could they improve on?
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Like, obviously, there's times where I'm like, like, what are you like?
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: You're annoying me.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: To put it like rank, but like, if I look at it like now, like if I just like take an outside view or a perspective different perspective on it, like, really, they do everything for me.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Like, I wouldn't be here without them.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: They've gave me such a good life.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: And they work so hard.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: And he's so smart.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: And they work so hard.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: It's like obviously, like, there's times where like they tell me to do things I don't want to do that.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: They yell at me and I feel like I didn't do anything.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: I get defensive.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: But that's just like humans being humans.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Totally.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: People are gonna argue no matter if it's your mother, your father, your grandmother, your grandfather.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: But like I said, they do everything I need.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: And for that, like, there's no one that like wants to see you win in life as much as your mother and father.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So the best.
- 16:02SPEAKER_04: And your grandfather, grandparents, sure.
- 16:04SPEAKER_04: I only know Bob, but isn't it cool to have that support?
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Like, doesn't that feel good?
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: Pop doesn't want me to win.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Yes, he does.
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: Some support.
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: I swear to God, he does.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I know.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you're ever.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: If I'm against them, like we play.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, but that's just boys being bullshit.
- 16:22SPEAKER_04: I think that's boys.
- 16:22SPEAKER_04: And dad, too.
- 16:23SPEAKER_04: You're getting to a point that your dad, not like he doesn't want you to win, but when you you start going against him in golf, like he absolutely does not want you to win.
- 16:32SPEAKER_04: He wants to beat the shit out of you.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: When I'm a kid, if we're playing basketball, like I'm not taking it, like, I'm not like if he's a little kid, but like when he's 14, if he's like, like, not like if he's like a like a decent sized 14-year-old kid and not like a little scrawny kid, like I'm not gonna like be like go easy be like, here, try again, shoot again.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Like, no, I'm gonna play.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, that's just like boys being boys, like I said.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Doesn't mean they don't want you to win.
- 16:55SPEAKER_04: Who's harder on you, dad or mom?
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, 100% my dad.
- 16:58SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 16:59SPEAKER_04: You who's harder dad.
- 17:02SPEAKER_04: Harder on you?
- 17:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, my dad will critique everything I do.
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: Is that do you feel like that with dad too?
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: If I'm on my phone, it'd be like, Yeah, bro, there you go again, searching for dopamine.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Here you go.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: All you do, you're a fiend for the dopamine.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Uh that's all he says.
- 17:18SPEAKER_04: So you guys had a sleepover last night.
- 17:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:20SPEAKER_04: What times you go to bed?
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: 12.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Shit, not at all.
- 17:23SPEAKER_04: Later.
- 17:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_04: Because of your phone, right?
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: You can say.
- 17:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: But it's not like I'm always like being sponsored.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: It's like calling.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And that's what I'm I found myself to do more and more.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not always like on TikTok or Instagram anymore.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Like if I'm on my phone, I feel like I'm talking to people, making plans, connecting on the phone.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: And then everything else, I feel like I'm outside.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Like, obviously, I still don't TikTok on going.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: But like there's times for that.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Like now I feel like I'm more, especially because it's summer.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Like I'm connecting, be like, yo, can you hang out?
- 17:54SPEAKER_04: Then, then, then like making plans, golf, hanging out, tea times.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: So last night you guys went on, I mean, I'm gonna say you went on a double date.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Not at all.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: No.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: Not what that is.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: Was it a double date?
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: No.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: You both It was a it was like me and this other girl in his girlfriend and him, like we're third wheels.
- 18:13SPEAKER_04: So you had a date, you guys were kind of the third wheels.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we were just like, Yeah.
- 18:17SPEAKER_04: Tell me about pop golf.
- 18:19SPEAKER_04: How was it?
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: It was fun.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: I liked it, yeah.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: Girls obviously didn't golf as much as me and him, but right.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Did you order food?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: No.
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, we went to the house.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: We went to Shakespeare.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: We went to In N Out.
- 18:29SPEAKER_04: In and Out.
- 18:30SPEAKER_04: So you got that bay where you didn't have to buy any food or anything or drinks?
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: No, we didn't even pay for it.
- 18:36SPEAKER_04: She paid for it.
- 18:37SPEAKER_04: She paid for it.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: Did you buy them in and out?
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: I bought my girlfriend in and out.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: Did you buy it?
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: She just went up and bought.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: I had money.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, you I feel like it'd be weird if you offered her to like, here, I'll pay for you.
- 18:50SPEAKER_04: Well, if you think about it, you gotta think about it.
- 18:52SPEAKER_04: They bought that bay.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: So they paid for the bay.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: So in your head, and they paid for the Waymo for the way there.
- 18:57SPEAKER_04: They paid the Waymo.
- 18:58SPEAKER_04: All right, Mike, you owe that girl some money.
- 19:00SPEAKER_04: Buy her burger next time.
- 19:02unknown: Okay.
- 19:03unknown: All right.
- 19:04SPEAKER_04: So what are you doing today?
- 19:05SPEAKER_04: What are your plans?
- 19:06SPEAKER_04: We're golfing.
- 19:07SPEAKER_04: We're not gonna make it.
- 19:07SPEAKER_04: We're golfing.
- 19:08SPEAKER_04: Here's the shift that I've seen.
- 19:10SPEAKER_04: This is why I get excited about your age, and this is why you took advantage of me the other night with having you stay out because I felt like I was 14.
- 19:17SPEAKER_04: And my mom was saying no, and I I reverted.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: As a sh I was a shitty parent to allow you to do what you did.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: You should help you should tell my mom to be a little more easy.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: No, you swear.
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: You guys have guys till 14, you're out till midnight.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: She calls me.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: We weren't out till midnight at all.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Like 11.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: It was like I call my mom.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: My mom calls me for the fourth time in 20 minutes.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: I'm like, What was this?
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what?
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: She's like, drop that attitude.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my gosh, you're going the wrong way on blank, blank, blank crossroads.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: You guys were going the wrong way.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what do you mean?
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: I'm just going to uh in and out.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: She's like, you're going to the wrong in and out.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: You're too far from home.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, it was the closest one to the location.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: She's like, then like we keep blah, blah, blah, back and forth.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: She's like, I swear to God, I'm gonna kill you.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: And she hangs up.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, I was on the other side.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: She was not like that.
- 20:04SPEAKER_04: She was so cool.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: She said you were giving her an attitude.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I was giving her an attitude.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: She's the one of the nicest moms you could ever ask for.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 20:15SPEAKER_04: She's so and she's easy.
- 20:17unknown: Yes.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: She is pretty easy.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she is.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: She is.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: You are too.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: But she gets but she but she just gets mad over little things.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Like she'll like it just confuses me about her.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Like something I should get in trouble for, she doesn't get as mad as like I know.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Like if I get say, like I came home from school and I got like in big trouble because I called a kid a name.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: She would get mad, but like she'll get more mad if I'm going to the wrong in and out.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, okay.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: You have to.
- 20:42SPEAKER_04: Let me stop you there.
- 20:43SPEAKER_04: I'll tell you why.
- 20:44SPEAKER_04: We are so I'm 40.
- 20:47SPEAKER_04: How old's mom?
- 20:47SPEAKER_04: In her 40s?
- 20:48SPEAKER_04: 42.
- 20:49SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 20:49SPEAKER_04: We've lived a lot longer than you guys and have seen crazy things that happen.
- 20:53SPEAKER_04: Our biggest thing as we get older as parents is all we want to do is literally keep you in this bubble and not let anything happen.
- 21:01SPEAKER_04: It's not you I don't trust at In N Out.
- 21:04SPEAKER_04: It's not your girlfriend.
- 21:05SPEAKER_04: It's you're going to an In N Out.
- 21:07SPEAKER_04: We're not close by.
- 21:09SPEAKER_04: What if something happens?
- 21:10SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 21:10SPEAKER_04: It's it's too scary.
- 21:11SPEAKER_04: She always says that like scary.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Even when I'm on my bike, she's like, she's like, it's not you, I don't trust.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: It's the other people.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: It's true.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: I get that.
- 21:19SPEAKER_04: Idiot drives around on his bike with no helmet, sometimes no shoes on, and you're whipping around.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: Didn't you get in trouble the other day with some lady driving?
- 21:26SPEAKER_04: Didn't she yell at you?
- 21:27SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 21:29SPEAKER_04: He got his first bike like recently because I never wanted to riding bike.
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: Poor Sophia's never rode a bike in her life.
- 21:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:35SPEAKER_04: She's nine.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: She's like, maybe this summer is the summer I get a bike.
- 21:39SPEAKER_04: I'm like, nah, you're good.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Just stay on the couch.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Don't leave.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, I feel like they can both use that bike.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: It's not like it's a like a like Sophia can't use it.
- 21:46SPEAKER_04: It's pretty trying to sell that bike, okay?
- 21:49SPEAKER_04: This was an investment that was goodbye.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: You know, I took that bike this morning to Tropical Smith while Michael walked the dog.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: What?
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: And you didn't tell anyone.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: These are the things.
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: God forbid.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Something happened.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I could have I could just tell us.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Well, the funny part is my mom.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Your mom asked her for a what a ride.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she's like, You want me to drive you?
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: I'm like, nah.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Did you tell her you went?
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: Because she dropped me off the shirt.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: No, I didn't.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: And she's like, I can I can just order you a tropical smoothie.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I'm okay.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: Well, because I was I said that after I just ordered, I was in the place.
- 22:22SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 22:23SPEAKER_04: See these things.
- 22:25SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 22:25SPEAKER_04: Please, please, please take my advice.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: I am a very successful podcast podcast host and I know a lot of things.
- 22:33SPEAKER_04: Even though Michael says I only get five likes.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: All you need to do is communicate with your parents.
- 22:40SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: You don't have to say every single thing.
- 22:44SPEAKER_04: But like if you're going somewhere, you have to tell us.
- 22:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: Even though we could stalk you on 360.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 22:51SPEAKER_04: Listen, your location is like 360.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: You want to stalk me?
- 22:54SPEAKER_04: I'm not doing anything wrong.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Find my life 360.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: My mom even tracks me on Snapchat.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Listen to me.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: 360, as much as it's a good thing, I have such anxiety looking at it.
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: You the other night were in the middle of the pool.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: I'm like, is he alive?
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: Like with his phone floating in the middle.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: Like it's a scary app to even freaking happen.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: I can get that, but I feel like, yeah, like when you'll be in the middle of the pool, like I, or like middle of the pool.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: Like I feel like parents like stress too much over that.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Like I was in I know.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: I was riding my bike and I was on the sidewalk and it showed I was in the middle of the road.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: I was just sitting on the sidewalk and my mom calls me.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: She's like, he starts spam calling me.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: And I was talking to like my friend because I saw him like riding back.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: I was, I think I was going to the gym.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: I was coming back and he was maybe going there.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: And I was talking to him on the side of the road.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: My phone was off.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: And my mom calls me five times.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, okay.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: Let me call her back.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: I'll be back.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: She's like, why are you in the middle of the road?
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Are you okay?
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Did you get hit by a car?
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I'm just on the side of the sidewalk.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: I'm like, like, I get it.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: It's just like, I feel like y'all gotta just chill a little bit.
- 23:49SPEAKER_04: Well, you know what it is?
- 23:50SPEAKER_04: We have too much, like, we have too much information now.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: I only stop watching the news.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the news is scary, but even social media.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: Social media is scary.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: What kid is sleeping with teachers?
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: What teach like it weirdest shit that everyone hears all the time.
- 24:06SPEAKER_04: And it's, you know, if you see it and hear it enough, you're gonna constantly be thinking about it.
- 24:11SPEAKER_04: And it's just scary.
- 24:12SPEAKER_04: But the 360 thing, it's scary because I can't help, but like even when you're golfing, I'm looking at what hole you're at.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: Like that's stock.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, it gives me always stalking, but it's almost because it's there, you know.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: She's like, have a good par five.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: I want to hit this one a little bit less.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: Shitty shot.
- 24:31SPEAKER_04: Actually, it'd be really cool if I was able to see.
- 24:33SPEAKER_04: You can't see me.
- 24:34SPEAKER_04: That'd be creepy, though.
- 24:35SPEAKER_04: Imagine if your parents are able to like hone, like actually see you.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: My mom's gonna text me on this one.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: You want to hit it left because it's gonna slice right here.
- 24:43SPEAKER_04: Right, exactly.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: Could you imagine?
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: Very so you guys get gifts because um you are my podcast host.
- 24:50SPEAKER_04: You really?

- 24:58SPEAKER_04: Wear it proud.
- 24:59SPEAKER_04: Thanks, bro.

- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Let's hear some life lessons.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
