- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:43Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:47created for a client that had left a relationship but still
- 0:53felt certain emotional attachments.
- 0:57And it was coming up to the festive season and they really
- 1:02wanted to feel that they'd got over their acts.
- 1:08They weren't together. They had separated, they'd split
- 1:11up. But at the same time, there was
- 1:14a fear, a fear that that emotional connection would still
- 1:20draw them back in. So what you're going to hear in
- 1:23this hypnosis session is utilizing some of the festive
- 1:27symbols like trees and lights and decorations as a way of
- 1:33framing the past as the past. And what can happen is that
- 1:38sometimes things are in the past, but they can be felt
- 1:43differently in the moment. And PTSD is a good example of
- 1:47that. Someone can feel really
- 1:49traumatized in a moment for something that happened a decade
- 1:52ago. So therefore it's still possible
- 1:55to feel certain emotions like connection, even if logically
- 2:00and intellectually you know that that relationship doesn't work
- 2:04and and it isn't what you hoped it would be.
- 2:07And this uses a, a way of framing submodalities.
- 2:13If you're familiar with NLP, one of the ways in which you can
- 2:17shift emotions is by changing the subpundalities.
- 2:20So a memory quite often is taken from a first person perspective.
- 2:25The moment you disassociate and change the colour and change the
- 2:28distance, it tends to dial the emotion all the way down.
- 2:31So there's a way of framing memories, like black and white
- 2:34photos seen as a distance. That's quite helpful.
- 2:38But also they wanted to feel that this previous relationship
- 2:42was irretrievably broken, that it couldn't get back together
- 2:46again. So there is a metaphor of a
- 2:48glass souvenir, a glass object breaking, shattering into lots
- 2:54of different pieces. That's going on.
- 2:56And then there's future pacing of seeing a desirable future
- 3:00where they're happy, but also that their ex has moved on too.
- 3:05And that gives them a sense of closure.
- 3:08So there's a bit going on here. I think it would be most useful
- 3:12if you still have feelings for an ex relationship that will
- 3:17enable you to get more value from this.
- 3:20But at the same time, it might just be that there's emotions
- 3:25not for a previous relationship, but for something else.
- 3:27And that might be a connection to a dream or an idea or a goal
- 3:33or an ambition that you know you've decided you don't want to
- 3:37pursue anymore. But there's a bit that wonders,
- 3:40like what if, what could have been?
- 3:42In which case it could be useful for that too.
- 3:44Obviously this was created for a very specific individual, and
- 3:47not all of the suggestions will correlate with you.
- 3:52Hone into the ones that resonate.
- 3:54Ignore anything that don't, but if you do feel like a bespoke
- 3:58session built around your individual circumstances and
- 4:02needs could be helpful, there will be a link in the show notes
- 4:04where you can schedule that free consultation call to explore
- 4:07working with me. For now though, find a quiet,
- 4:10comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 4:13Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 4:52breathe in, breathe in a slow, long, relaxing breath and as you
- 5:03exhale just allow yourself to release any tension around your
- 5:08eyelids and in that outward breath just allow your.
- 5:12Eyes to close. Enabling you to drift off to a
- 5:17place of calm, peaceful tranquility.
- 5:28And when you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of
- 5:33relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 5:39yourself to release whatever you're holding on to.
- 5:45Any sadness, any frustration, any overwhelm, any any
- 5:54heaviness, just allow it to leave your body in that outward
- 5:58breath. Just imagine being in a cosy
- 6:15lounge surrounded by festive decorations.
- 6:28I want you to imagine Christmas cards and Christmas lights, a
- 6:35tree. I want you to imagine all the
- 6:40things that you would normally decorate your home with.
- 6:45And maybe there's a feeling of coziness in this room.
- 6:56Perhaps you could imagine a soft, cozy couch.
- 7:09Maybe there's a warmth. In the air.
- 7:17And maybe you can even imagine the sound of festive music or
- 7:24Carol singers. But just allow yourself to sink
- 7:28into this feeling of festivity. And I want you to imagine not
- 7:37too far away are the lights. Those festive lights of Reds and
- 7:49Blues and greens. Maybe.
- 7:56Maybe they're around a tree or maybe hanging the side of a wall
- 8:04or up on the ceiling. But I want you to find one
- 8:09colour of light that seems to hold your attention.
- 8:17Just focus on that light intently.
- 8:23And sometimes when you focus on light, it starts to blur.
- 8:29It's still there, but your eyes defocus.
- 8:36And I wonder, as you drift into that warm glow of that
- 8:42particular colour of Christmas light, and maybe it twinkles or
- 8:50flickers or holds steady. But imagine.
- 8:56As you breathe in and breathe out, your focus deepens,
- 9:03enabling you to drift into a place, a place within your
- 9:12imagination. What if staring into that light
- 9:18makes you think of all the different lights connected?
- 9:23Maybe it's possible to think of your memories as shimmering
- 9:27lights on a line that goes backwards.
- 9:33What if each light holds a memory, each twinkle guiding you
- 9:38further into a place of calm and quiet reflection.
- 9:46With every breath you take, feel yourself relaxing more and more.
- 9:52The lights begin to blur slightly and their glow creates
- 9:57a soft haze. And as you focus on a light, or
- 10:03many lights, you might notice how they seem to stretch time,
- 10:10as if pulling you gently into a slower, calmer rhythm of the
- 10:16present moment. And that initial light, the one
- 10:24that got your attention, it's glow, feels special.
- 10:31Livid holds the key to a journey through time, a journey into
- 10:37acceptance, and as you continue to breathe deeply, the world
- 10:46around you becomes quieter, softer, and you find yourself
- 10:53ready. To begin this.
- 10:55Journey. And as you stare into the light,
- 11:04imagine it takes you back into the past, and that past is
- 11:11filled with black and white photographs.
- 11:18Each picture is a snapshot of a moment in a previous
- 11:24relationship, moments frozen in time, but they're all black and
- 11:31white, and they're all still images.
- 11:36And as you observe them, feel that you're looking at them from
- 11:39a distance, not close. Feel like they're far away,
- 11:45black and white and still, like an impartial viewer watching the
- 11:52life of someone that looks like you.
- 12:01See yourself perhaps, perhaps in these photos, smiling or lost in
- 12:07a moment, but it now feels like you're disconnected from that
- 12:12version of you. You know it was you, but this is
- 12:18you from the past, and you're not that person anymore.
- 12:27Each photograph is free of emotion, drained of its colours,
- 12:34drained of its intensity. That moment loses its power over
- 12:41you and you simply see the moments for what they were.
- 12:48Experiences neutral and detached, allow any memory of
- 12:57that relationship to appear as a black and white photo and notice
- 13:05how the emotions tied to these memories fade further and
- 13:11further. The emotions are dialed down,
- 13:16but the wisdom and experiences and insight is dialled all the
- 13:23way up. Allow yourself to extract the
- 13:29lessons and the understanding and feel that the emotions are
- 13:37just far, far away in your past. And maybe there's a particular
- 13:46memory that was more intense. And as you see that photo, take
- 13:55in that moment, still seeing yourself like someone else, as
- 14:03you realise that positive memories were just one part of
- 14:11the past. There were many other memories
- 14:14of arguments, disagreements, promises made but not kept.
- 14:22This isn't you looking back with rose tinted glasses as to all
- 14:29the best moments and what could have been.
- 14:35Consider this more, dissecting the past to see it for what it
- 14:41really was. A relationship that lacked some
- 14:46of the intensity and passion. Someone that didn't quite have
- 14:56the qualities to make you feel as valued or as important as you
- 15:03wanted. Feel that as you go into the
- 15:08past, you're seeing it for exactly what it was.
- 15:17Each memory you see is one of many, and it feels like you from
- 15:24a long, long time ago extract the value from the past without
- 15:31any desire to live there. The grip of these moments
- 15:39lessons and fades with every breath you take, and
- 15:56I want you to imagine standing in front of a single beautiful
- 16:02glass ornament. The ornament might be a large
- 16:10ornament of a person, but it could also represent a symbol
- 16:17that represented that relationship.
- 16:23Could even be a glass ornament of a a house, a promise of the
- 16:27future, even a piece of furniture.
- 16:32Everything you shared, every plan, every memory, every dream
- 16:38feel like it was linked into that glass ornament.
- 16:48And from a distance, the glass ornament looks perfect and
- 16:52precious and desirable. But on closer inspection you
- 16:59realise that the ornament is cracked.
- 17:05Chipped, maybe a severe crack all the way through.
- 17:17That it was the idea of the future that appealed, not it's
- 17:23probability and not the reality. And maybe you see that structure
- 17:37as only ever being temporary. It was no longer capable of
- 17:45holding the shape or the weight of what it once did.
- 17:55I want you to imagine holding that ornament in your hands and
- 18:02breathe in a feeling of clear intention.
- 18:08And as you breathe out, allow yourself to drop that glass
- 18:14ornament that represented that previous relationship.
- 18:23Allow it to shatter into 1000 tiny pieces, fragments
- 18:31scattering across the floor. And you watch as the pieces
- 18:38glisten for a moment, realising that this can never be repaired.
- 18:45It can never be what it was, and what it was was never what it
- 18:52was intended to be. You were holding onto a dream,
- 19:00not a reality. And allow that dream to shatter,
- 19:07giving you all the pieces, the ingredients as to something that
- 19:13would be desirable for you in your future.
- 19:20Allow yourself to sweep up those tiny pieces, gently throwing
- 19:25them away. But as you do, you feel no
- 19:29sadness, no loss. Instead, imagine feeling an
- 19:35incredible sense of relief, of freedom.
- 19:42The ornament is no longer something to hold onto.
- 19:47It's simply a part of your past, something that served its
- 19:53purpose. I don't want you to imagine your
- 20:07ex partner as someone you just used to date and imagine them in
- 20:18their future, maybe two or three years in the future in a new
- 20:24relationship. See them being happy in that new
- 20:28relationship and you can be happy for them.
- 20:34You can be happy that they found someone for them and trusting
- 20:38that you will find someone for you.
- 20:43And as you see them in their future, get a sense of absolute
- 20:50clarity. That is not a future that you
- 20:57want. You want a future that is
- 21:03desirable for you and may have echoes of what you used to want.
- 21:09But like anything else, it changes, evolves.
- 21:20As you see those fragments, perhaps in the bottom of a a
- 21:28tray or a bin or a box, you feel a great sense of clarity.
- 21:37You see that the plans you once made were not wasted.
- 21:42They were reconnaissance, guiding you to understand what
- 21:49truly matters to you. Those plans were practice
- 21:57insight, showing you the values, desires and dreams that you can
- 22:02now carry forward into a future where you thrive.
- 22:11So imagine standing before a vibrant, glowing Christmas tree
- 22:16where it's lights now represent your future, bright, colourful
- 22:19and full of possibility. And beneath the tree are gifts
- 22:25wrapped in shimmering paper. Each gift contains a lesson
- 22:30learned, a piece of wisdom from your past relationship.
- 22:36So imagine opening the gifts 1 by 1, discovering new insights
- 22:43about yourself, your strength, your resilience, your ability to
- 22:50love and be loved the way you need to.
- 22:55And these lessons fill you with gratitude, knowing they will
- 23:01help you make better decisions, wiser choices.
- 23:06These lessons are gifts, valuable gifts designed to
- 23:13improve your future. So when you think of your ex
- 23:23partner, that's what they are, simply a person you used to
- 23:31date. The presence in your life was
- 23:35real, but it's now over finished, irretrievably broken
- 23:43like that shattered glass ornament that you've already
- 23:46swept away. And over the next few days and
- 23:52weeks, if their name ever does come up, you may be surprised to
- 23:58notice how naturally you described them in the past
- 24:03tense. Someone who was important but is
- 24:07no longer. Someone who helped you but is no
- 24:13longer part of your story. With each thought, they recede
- 24:19further into the distance, becoming a part of your past.
- 24:27A chapter closed, the story complete.
- 24:34And as you stare into the glowing Christmas lights, you
- 24:37imagine your future. A new chapter, but a new chapter
- 24:43free of the baggage of the past and yet infused with the wisdom
- 24:48and clarity it gave you. You feel lighter, clearer, and
- 24:56more excited about the life you are building.
- 25:01And as the lights begin to fade, you find yourself being called
- 25:09to the present moment, the here and now, feeling that you've
- 25:14psychologically moved on, getting a sense of closure.
- 25:27So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 25:32nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 25:34your toes, connecting fully into the here and now.
- 25:40As I count, from 1:00 to 10:00, you will awaken, but you will
- 25:42awaken at the point where you're unconscious.
- 25:47Let's close that chapter, putting your ex firmly in the
- 25:53past. Starting to count 123 Waking up
- 26:00456, More alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:05Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
