- 0:50Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 0:52Don Armstrong: Well, you know, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
- 0:55Don Armstrong: That's all right.
- 0:56Don Armstrong: Isn't that what they said?
- 0:57Don Armstrong: Well, we were said that.
- 0:58Don Armstrong: I don't know who did.
- 1:00Don Armstrong: Yeah, I know.
- 1:01Don Armstrong: I had one too many last night.
- 1:02Don Armstrong: I did three margaritas, and I never do that.
- 1:05Don Armstrong: Um apparently uh somebody pushed me into it.
- 1:09unknown: Gosh.
- 1:10Don Armstrong: The people sitting across the table from me.
- 1:12Don Armstrong: So whoa, I'm gonna have another one.
- 1:14Don Armstrong: How about you?
- 1:15Don Armstrong: Well, what am I gonna be the bump on the log and go, no, I'm gonna go home and go to bed.
- 1:20Mike Marrs: I hate to see a man drink alone, you know.
- 1:22Mike Marrs: You want to be sociable.
- 1:24Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 1:25Don Armstrong: Did you drink last night, Mars?
- 1:26Mike Marrs: No, sir.
- 1:27Mike Marrs: Oh, liar liar pants on fire.
- 1:30Mike Marrs: Nope, not last night.
- 1:31Mike Marrs: It's gonna be tonight.
- 1:32Mike Marrs: Tonight.
- 1:33Mike Marrs: Oh, yes.
- 1:35Don Armstrong: I knew it.
- 1:36Mike Marrs: It's Saturday night.
- 1:37Mike Marrs: I'm gonna take a bath and everything.
- 1:40Don Armstrong: That's what you do on a Saturday night in Neaterville, Texas, huh?
- 1:44Don Armstrong: Okay, I got some recalls, okay, as I always do.
- 1:50Don Armstrong: Misassembled airbag sensors.
- 1:55Don Armstrong: I mean, what does that mean?
- 1:57Don Armstrong: Misassembled.
- 1:59Don Armstrong: So, in other words, when it blows up, it blows down to your feet.
- 2:02Don Armstrong: Uh I don't I don't know exactly what that means.
- 2:04Don Armstrong: We'd have to look into that.
- 2:05Mike Marrs: Maybe it blows out instead of in.
- 2:08Don Armstrong: I I don't know.
- 2:08Don Armstrong: Misassembled airbag sensors.
- 2:11Don Armstrong: Uh Hyundai, Elantra, Alantra in, Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, Tucson plugin hybrid, all from the 2026 model year.
- 2:19Don Armstrong: Wow.
- 2:19Don Armstrong: It's being recalled.
- 2:21Don Armstrong: Wheel stud may separate.
- 2:25Jeff Dziekan: Darn it.
- 2:30Don Armstrong: Tesla Cybertruck 2024 to 2026.
- 2:33Don Armstrong: How does a stud separate?
- 2:38unknown: Okay.
- 2:39Don Armstrong: Fuel tank may leak after a crash in the Volkswagen Taus.
- 2:44Don Armstrong: TOUS 25 and 26 model years.
- 2:48Don Armstrong: Instrument panel display failure, Dodge Charger EV, Jeep Wagoneer S 24 to 25.
- 2:57Don Armstrong: Fuel tank may leak, Land Rover Defender, 2026.
- 3:03Don Armstrong: Uh seat belts may not restrain occupants, then what good are they?
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:08Don Armstrong: This would be the Audi Q5, Q5 Sport Back, SQ5, and SQ5 Sportback 2025 model year.
- 3:17Don Armstrong: And drum roll, please, Ford.
- 3:24Don Armstrong: Okay, that's it.
- 3:25Don Armstrong: It's gonna the entire company does it all.
- 3:30Don Armstrong: Um loose bolt in the front seat frame.
- 3:34Don Armstrong: Martha.
- 3:35Don Armstrong: Martha, you're what are you doing in the back seat?
- 3:37Don Armstrong: I thought you got in in the front.
- 3:39Don Armstrong: Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger, 24 through 26 model years.
- 3:43Don Armstrong: So I guess they're gonna bring it in and uh ratchet on it.
- 3:49Don Armstrong: And that'll that'll take care of that.
- 3:50Don Armstrong: All right, this is what we've all been waiting for.
- 3:53Don Armstrong: It's time now for Heming's sold car roundup.
- 3:56Don Armstrong: We pick a few out of the weekly list that they supply, and we say we describe what the car is.
- 4:06Don Armstrong: Mars shows us the picture of the car, and then you guess the price of what that car sold for.
- 4:13Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 4:14unknown: Okay.
- 4:14Don Armstrong: Here's the first one up for bid this morning.
- 4:17Don Armstrong: It sold for uh, and this is car number one, the 1948 Studebaker Commander.
- 4:26Don Armstrong: Now, it I don't recall the headlights being like that in a stock Studebaker Commander.
- 4:33Don Armstrong: Uh, but I think that they've done some you think that's modified.
- 4:37Mike Marrs: I I don't know.
- 4:38Mike Marrs: Yeah, well, I think that it is.
- 4:39Mike Marrs: I think if you you look at the wheels and the tires and like you say, the head motor.
- 4:43Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, look at the engine too.
- 4:44Don Armstrong: And it's a convertible D headlights in it.
- 4:46Don Armstrong: Did they make a convertible in 48 for that car?
- 4:49Don Armstrong: If they did, well, what a waste of time.
- 4:54Don Armstrong: What?
- 4:54Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 4:54Don Armstrong: Really?
- 4:55Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 4:55Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 4:56Don Armstrong: So Jeff's gonna go for 68,000.
- 4:58Don Armstrong: Bring it home.
- 4:59Jeff Dziekan: What are you gonna go for?
- 5:00Jeff Dziekan: David and Stacy uh Lusk say 27.5.
- 5:04Jeff Dziekan: 27.5, okay.
- 5:05Jeff Dziekan: Mr.
- 5:05Jeff Dziekan: Heitzman is in a 10 grand.
- 5:08Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 5:09Don Armstrong: Anybody else?
- 5:11Mike Marrs: I think we lost George.
- 5:12Mike Marrs: George, yeah.
- 5:13Jeff Dziekan: Whatever his is is a 9999.
- 5:15Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 5:16Don Armstrong: Uh so it's sold for$22,050.
- 5:22Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 5:22Don Armstrong: It's just a little off base.
- 5:24Don Armstrong: But you see, that's not a stock insurance.
- 5:26Don Armstrong: It's a restaurant.
- 5:27Don Armstrong: Yeah, but restaurant are getting um and it's a convertible.
- 5:31Don Armstrong: Why more would you spend that kind of money on that car?
- 5:34Mike Marrs: Ooh.
- 5:35Mike Marrs: Yeah, but it's because it's different, it's unique.
- 5:38Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 5:38Don Armstrong: Well, I'll tell you what, you buy it, and I'll go, why would you spend the money on that car?
- 5:43Don Armstrong: You know what it needs?
- 5:44Don Armstrong: It needs a Ford propeller on it.
- 5:46Don Armstrong: That's what it is.
- 5:46Mike Marrs: Oh, right there in the middle of the middle of the front, right there right there.
- 5:49Don Armstrong: While we're in the mood for Studebakers, let's do another one, shall we?
- 5:53Don Armstrong: Here now is a 1941 Studebaker Commander.
- 5:59Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 5:59Don Armstrong: It is a it's got like it's got suicide doors on it.
- 6:02Don Armstrong: So and that was stock, I'm sure, from the factory.
- 6:05Don Armstrong: Because this looks like a completely stock car.
- 6:07Don Armstrong: 1941 Studebaker Commander probably has got a spineless six-cylinder in it, would be my guess.
- 6:15Don Armstrong: And uh what do you think that looks like it?
- 6:17Don Armstrong: Yeah, pardon me.
- 6:18Don Armstrong: It looks like it, yeah.
- 6:19Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 6:19Don Armstrong: Um, what do you think that that car sold?
- 6:22Don Armstrong: 42,000.
- 6:24Jeff Dziekan: Wow.
- 6:24Jeff Dziekan: 42?
- 6:25Jeff Dziekan: I'm going 42.
- 6:26Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 6:27Jeff Dziekan: Heitzman says 35.
- 6:29Jeff Dziekan: 35.
- 6:31Jeff Dziekan: Uh the Lusk family says 37,999.
- 6:35Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 6:35Don Armstrong: You all are going to be disappointed because you all have overbid.
- 6:39Jeff Dziekan: All right.
- 6:39Jeff Dziekan: That's part of the game.
- 6:40Don Armstrong: It's sold for$18,900.
- 6:44Don Armstrong: Wow.
- 6:45Don Armstrong: And here's the problem.
- 6:46Don Armstrong: Uh it's a beautiful car.
- 6:47Don Armstrong: Don't get me wrong.
- 6:48Don Armstrong: It looks like it's all completely stock.
- 6:50Don Armstrong: Try to find a part for that.
- 6:53Don Armstrong: Uh you're not going to walk into the uh O'Reilly's high-low auto supply and say, Um, I need a starter or I need a water pump for my 41 Studebaker Commander.
- 7:04Mike Marrs: Because it's if if you look real close at well, some of the other pictures, it's still a six-volt system.
- 7:09Mike Marrs: It's not even upgraded to 12 volt.
- 7:11Mike Marrs: Ah.
- 7:12Jeff Dziekan: There you go.
- 7:12Jeff Dziekan: Well, see, then I would have changed my bid to 18,000 if I would have known.
- 7:15Jeff Dziekan: 18,000.
- 7:17Jeff Dziekan: Only even an hour.
- 7:18Don Armstrong: I would have changed it in a hurry.
- 7:19Don Armstrong: All right.
- 7:20Don Armstrong: Next up is a 1968 AMC AMX.
- 7:28Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 7:29Don Armstrong: So what they've done is that they took this car, they took the back seat out of it, and they put what was their high performance motor in it to compete with the Mustang and the Camaros and that sort of stuff.
- 7:41Don Armstrong: The problem with it is, have you ever seen one of these in person?
- 7:44Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 7:45Don Armstrong: It's big.
- 7:45Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 7:46Don Armstrong: It's a big it's a big it's bigger than a Nova.
- 7:49Don Armstrong: Oh, and it's bigger than the Camaro, and certainly bigger than the than the Mustang.
- 7:53Don Armstrong: It's like a Chevelle size.
- 7:55Don Armstrong: Yes.
- 7:55Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 7:56Don Armstrong: Correct.
- 7:56Don Armstrong: So a 68 AMC AMX.
- 7:59Don Armstrong: They didn't build that many of them.
- 8:01Don Armstrong: So that's kind of a hint at what this car sold for.
- 8:04Jeff Dziekan: I'm going to go 23.
- 8:06Jeff Dziekan: 23.
- 8:07Jeff Dziekan: George is at 1699.
- 8:09Jeff Dziekan: The Lusk family's at 19K.
- 8:12Jeff Dziekan: And Jeff Heisman is at 29.
- 8:15Don Armstrong: Well, everybody is under bid because this car sold for 39,375.
- 8:21Don Armstrong: Now, it looks stock to me.
- 8:23Don Armstrong: Does the radio look stock to you?
- 8:24Don Armstrong: Yeah, it does.
- 8:25Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 8:26Don Armstrong: Well, you've got an ashtray.
- 8:27Don Armstrong: See, I didn't see that.
- 8:28Don Armstrong: What'd you say, Mike?
- 8:29Mike Marrs: I I think it is pretty much stock, so you know, from the other pictures and stuff.
- 8:33Don Armstrong: Well, that alone is worth some money.
- 8:35Jeff Dziekan: And the ashtray and cigarette lighter raised it.
- 8:37Jeff Dziekan: I should have noticed that.
- 8:37Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, I think it's a good idea.
- 8:39Don Armstrong: Mars got all panicky about the next car.
- 8:41Don Armstrong: Oh, wow.
- 8:42Don Armstrong: Because he wrote me and said, listen, he wants it?
- 8:44Don Armstrong: No.
- 8:45Mike Marrs: He wrote me and said, Well, I was thinking our stuff would fit in the back of it for our road trips.
- 8:50Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 8:51Don Armstrong: Kind of like uh like Bobby at uh Hot Rod Toura, Texas, with the Edsel that's actually um It's a Lincoln, isn't it?
- 8:59Don Armstrong: It's Oldsmobile.
- 9:00Don Armstrong: No, it's a it's either a Lincoln or it is a uh uh We'll find out.
- 9:06Don Armstrong: Yeah, whatever.
- 9:07Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 9:08Don Armstrong: But this this this is not that.
- 9:10Don Armstrong: This is a 57 Plymouth Suburban.
- 9:14Jeff Dziekan: This that looks like a helicopter uh dash panel almost.
- 9:17Jeff Dziekan: Well kind of whatever.
- 9:19Jeff Dziekan: Wow they did weird things like that.
- 9:20Jeff Dziekan: How much?
- 9:21Jeff Dziekan: Uh Flesh Family says 3,000 and it's rough, right?
- 9:25Don Armstrong: Well, I think that the the sale price of this is I'm gonna go nine.
- 9:31Don Armstrong: Nine.
- 9:32Don Armstrong: I want to say this, and I should have said this up front, that I think that the stickers are all original, that this car was used for something other than a streetcar.
- 9:42Don Armstrong: Yeah, it looks rough, but it is rough.
- 9:45Don Armstrong: Jeff Heisman said 17.
- 9:46Jeff Dziekan: George's 15,999.
- 9:48Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 9:48Don Armstrong: Well, it's sold for 24,750 for some reason.
- 9:52Don Armstrong: Wow.
- 9:52Don Armstrong: Uh, and I think that the stickers probably have something to do with it.
- 9:55Don Armstrong: It was in some sort of a Pan American race or something.
- 9:57Mike Marrs: Oh, the cross-country thing that's yeah.
- 10:00Don Armstrong: I like the I like the hubcaps.
- 10:02Don Armstrong: Dave I love those cats.
- 10:04Don Armstrong: Those are full wheel covers, sir.
- 10:06Don Armstrong: Well, yeah, that's right, they are.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: You're right.
- 10:08Don Armstrong: Right.
- 10:08Don Armstrong: Next up, I had one of these.
- 10:10Don Armstrong: This is a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro.
- 10:15Don Armstrong: And a couple of years into this car, I decided that I wanted to put some headlight covers on it.
- 10:22Don Armstrong: And I did.
- 10:23Don Armstrong: And they made them, they were clear plastic, and I had to drill two holes at the front of the lower part of it, and then they had little nubs that you'd click in there, and then you'd fold them back, and then you'd close the hood.
- 10:36Jeff Dziekan: I what color was yours?
- 10:38Don Armstrong: Um, silver, I think.
- 10:40Jeff Dziekan: I had a 92 RS Victory Red, and I had the headlight covers on it too.
- 10:44Jeff Dziekan: Did you?
- 10:45Jeff Dziekan: Mine were smoked, mine were black.
- 10:46Don Armstrong: Oh, okay.
- 10:47Don Armstrong: Well, they didn't make the smoked ones then.
- 10:49Don Armstrong: All right.
- 10:49Don Armstrong: So how much do you think that this 85 Chevy Camaro went for?
- 10:53Don Armstrong: It had no horsepower, I'll tell you.
- 10:54Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna say$7,000.
- 10:57Jeff Dziekan: Really?
- 10:57Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 10:58Mike Marrs: Less families at$25.
- 11:01Mike Marrs: Mr.
- 11:01Mike Marrs: Heitzman says$42.
- 11:03Mike Marrs: He likes it.
- 11:04Don Armstrong: I know.
- 11:06Don Armstrong: Apparently.
- 11:08Don Armstrong: It's gorgeous.
- 11:09Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 11:10Mike Marrs: It's gorgeous.
- 11:11Mike Marrs: Um then uh George wants for$13,999.
- 11:15Don Armstrong: Well, uh George is closest without going over because it's sold for$16,275.
- 11:21Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, good.
- 11:22Don Armstrong: Yeah, that that that's an okay price.
- 11:24Don Armstrong: Yeah, that's the driver.
- 11:26Jeff Dziekan: Does it have T-tops?
- 11:27Jeff Dziekan: Uh apparently it looks like it.
- 11:28Jeff Dziekan: It kind of looks like it.
- 11:29Jeff Dziekan: Yes, it did.
- 11:30Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 11:31Don Armstrong: Yeah, it has T tops.
- 11:33Don Armstrong: Um if they don't leak, then that's a good thing.
- 11:35Don Armstrong: But they all leak.
- 11:36Don Armstrong: Did they make them that don't leak?
- 11:38Don Armstrong: I don't think so.
- 11:39Don Armstrong: All right, next up.
- 11:40Don Armstrong: This is for uh this is for Jeffrey.
- 11:43Don Armstrong: This is, ladies and gentlemen, a 1976 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible.
- 11:50Jeff Dziekan: I'm tearing up.
- 11:52Don Armstrong: Are you?
- 11:53Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 11:55Don Armstrong: This looks uh actually stock.
- 11:57Don Armstrong: And remember those painted wheel covers?
- 11:58Don Armstrong: Oh, they're gorgeous.
- 11:59Don Armstrong: They match the color of the car.
- 12:01Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:02Don Armstrong: So 76 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible.
- 12:05Don Armstrong: I've driven many of those.
- 12:06Don Armstrong: Now, did they not have headlight covers on them?
- 12:10Don Armstrong: No.
- 12:10Don Armstrong: They didn't.
- 12:11Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 12:11Don Armstrong: All right.
- 12:12Don Armstrong: I thought they, you know, flopped.
- 12:13Jeff Dziekan: Oh no, that you're thinking of the Riviera.
- 12:15Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 12:15Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 12:16Jeff Dziekan: So 76 Cadillac El Dorado, what did that say?
- 12:18Jeff Dziekan: Uh the Lusk family says 50K.
- 12:20Jeff Dziekan: 50?
- 12:21Jeff Dziekan: Wow.
- 12:22Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 12:23Jeff Dziekan: Heitzman says 51.
- 12:27Jeff Dziekan: I'm going to do uh I'm going to do 32.
- 12:30Don Armstrong: 32.
- 12:31Jeff Dziekan: And George's 29,999.
- 12:33Don Armstrong: Okay, well, it's sold for 1811.
- 12:38Don Armstrong: I still would have paid 32.
- 12:41Mike Marrs: You'd have to spend the other 10,000 to build your garage big enough to get it in there.
- 12:45Don Armstrong: Well, not only that, but you're going to have to get all of the electric motors repaired on everything that is operated by an electric motor, which is probably a thousand things.
- 12:54Jeff Dziekan: Well, you know, that's the risk you take, though.
- 12:57Don Armstrong: Does the top work?
- 12:58Jeff Dziekan: Well, the top's up, yeah.
- 12:59Jeff Dziekan: The top's down there and the top's up there.
- 13:00Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, they could have done that by hand.
- 13:02Don Armstrong: All right, next up, we're gonna go to the other end of the spectrum and to a 64 Shelby Cobra.
- 13:10Don Armstrong: Now, based on the price, I'm just gonna say to you that this is some sort of an original, uh, unrestored.
- 13:19Don Armstrong: Uh, it looks like a race car.
- 13:22Don Armstrong: It's got uh open headers on it.
- 13:24Don Armstrong: Yeah, collectors, yeah.
- 13:26Don Armstrong: 64 Shelby Cobra.
- 13:28Don Armstrong: What do you think that that would go for?
- 13:30Jeff Dziekan: Are you sitting down?
- 13:31Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna go 225.
- 13:34Jeff Dziekan: $225,000.
- 13:36Jeff Dziekan: That's what I'm going.
- 13:39Jeff Dziekan: Look at look at the look at the Russ family's a lusk family says 100?
- 13:43Don Armstrong: Those are those are in injectors, aren't they?
- 13:45Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, they're they're like awesomeness.
- 13:47Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 13:48Jeff Dziekan: 54 from Mr.
- 13:49Jeff Dziekan: Heitman.
- 13:51Don Armstrong: Does it say Roush on it?
- 13:53Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 13:54Don Armstrong: Well, Roush, it's a Roush motor, but that that was not that was not stock in 64 like that.
- 14:02Jeff Dziekan: George is at 119.999.
- 14:04Jeff Dziekan: It sold for you to think this is a factory street car.
- 14:08Don Armstrong: No.
- 14:08Don Armstrong: No, it's a race car.
- 14:10Don Armstrong: It's got open headers on it.
- 14:12unknown: Right.
- 14:13Don Armstrong: Collectors.
- 14:14Don Armstrong: Okay, well it sold for 174.3.
- 14:17Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 14:18Don Armstrong: 174.3.
- 14:20Don Armstrong: And and not only that, but it I don't believe that that car originally had a tilt nose on it.
- 14:26Don Armstrong: It had a hood.
- 14:29Don Armstrong: It's been modified for racing.
- 14:31Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 14:32Don Armstrong: Anyway.
- 14:32Jeff Dziekan: Hey, I drive it.
- 14:34Don Armstrong: $174,000.
- 14:36Don Armstrong: Quickly.
- 14:37Don Armstrong: All right.
- 14:38Don Armstrong: And our last one up this morning is this one, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird.
- 14:47Don Armstrong: And I picked this out because it looks a little rough.
- 14:51Don Armstrong: A little?
- 14:53Don Armstrong: It looks rough.
- 14:56Don Armstrong: What was that?
- 14:56Don Armstrong: Is that is let me ask you this.
- 14:58Don Armstrong: On the motor there, is that a red shop rag?
- 15:01Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 15:02Don Armstrong: It is a red shop rag over the carburetor.
- 15:04Don Armstrong: They're concealing the uh state of the air.
- 15:07Jeff Dziekan: Good sign right there.
- 15:08Jeff Dziekan: Secret carburetor.
- 15:09Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, top secret carburetor.
- 15:11Jeff Dziekan: Not I wonder what the sparkleators look like to have.
- 15:15Jeff Dziekan: Who was it that had the TV show with that kind of car?
- 15:17Jeff Dziekan: It was a detective show.
- 15:19Jeff Dziekan: It lived in a beach house or something.
- 15:21Don Armstrong: Oh, that was James Garner.
- 15:23Don Armstrong: James Garner, yeah.
- 15:24Don Armstrong: What was the name of the show?
- 15:26Don Armstrong: I don't remember the name of the show, but at any rate.
- 15:27Jeff Dziekan: Jeff says 13 on this.
- 15:30Jeff Dziekan: The Lusk family says five, and I'm with you on that.
- 15:32Jeff Dziekan: I'm going to go seven.
- 15:34Jeff Dziekan: Jeff is 13.
- 15:37Jeff Dziekan: George is 179.
- 15:39Don Armstrong: Sold for$7,600.
- 15:43Jeff Dziekan: Just bought me a car.
- 15:44Jeff Dziekan: Look what I bought.
- 15:46Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 15:46Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 15:46Jeff Dziekan: Don't show it to Kathy.
- 15:48Jeff Dziekan: She says, you're not going to put that on mine.
- 15:50Jeff Dziekan: Now, don't buy that for Mother's Day.
- 15:52Jeff Dziekan: That's not a Mother's Day print.
- 15:53Mike Marrs: And if you're worried about the T tops leaking, if you'll notice that bottom left-hand corner there, the floorboard, there's a hole that goes through, so it'll drain right on through down onto the ground.
- 16:02Mike Marrs: Rockfit files.
- 16:04Mike Marrs: Rockfruit files.
- 16:05Mike Marrs: That was the name of it.
- 16:06Jeff Dziekan: It looks like it's got some somebody attempted wood grain on the side there on that shop.
- 16:10Jeff Dziekan: Oh my God.
- 16:10Jeff Dziekan: Oh, that's Bobo, sorry.
- 16:14Mike Marrs: That's the rust that's not fixed but painted on.
- 16:17Jeff Dziekan: Uh-huh.
- 16:17Jeff Dziekan: Throw some paint on it.
- 16:19Jeff Dziekan: Oh my gosh.
- 16:20Jeff Dziekan: The wheel, the honeycomb wheels are probably uh a good thing if they're not scuffed up.
- 16:24Don Armstrong: Well, but they're not stock.
- 16:26Don Armstrong: No.
- 16:27Don Armstrong: They they I think that the um the fire that that cannot be a real honest to god firebird.
- 16:36Mike Marrs: I I think it is.
- 16:37Jeff Dziekan: Well, Hemings would have to disclaim it.
- 16:40unknown: Yeah.
- 16:40Jeff Dziekan: Whatever.
- 16:41Mike Marrs: I mean, there are more pictures of it with the uh the reversed hood scoop that goes through the hood.
- 16:46Mike Marrs: Yeah.
- 16:47Mike Marrs: It came with that, or that car has it.
- 16:49Mike Marrs: Let me rephrase that.
- 16:50Jeff Dziekan: I was just gonna say it's a firebird, not a TA.
- 16:55Jeff Dziekan: We don't we don't know.
- 16:57Mike Marrs: We'd have to do a little more digging.
- 16:59Don Armstrong: We're going down the translator with the I know, but we're getting down the shop rag on the carburetor pretty well says it off.
- 17:04Don Armstrong: Yeah, yes, yeah.
- 17:06Don Armstrong: What happened to the what happened to that air filter?
- 17:08Don Armstrong: Oh, we threw it away, didn't work for anyone.
- 17:10Mike Marrs: Shop rags are cheaper, collects more dirt.
- 17:13Mike Marrs: Yeah.
- 17:15Don Armstrong: Just ahead.
- 17:16Don Armstrong: In Jeff's car culture, car ads.
- 17:20Don Armstrong: Yeah.

- 19:15Don Armstrong: Is it okay to say that?
- 19:17Don Armstrong: Yeah, I've just uh You wanted to say something.
- 19:19Don Armstrong: You wanted to comment on that comment.
- 19:21Jeff Dziekan: No, I was thinking, well, we just had a Mexican food commercial and I was thinking a little cramped up.
- 19:27Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 19:28Don Armstrong: I don't think that they cramp you up over there at Lupi Tortilla.
- 19:32Jeff Dziekan: We're just commenting that all that you just want the whatever's comes up on that picture, you want to eat it.
- 19:36Jeff Dziekan: It's really good stuff.
- 19:38Jeff Dziekan: If you haven't been there, you need to go.
- 19:40Don Armstrong: Yeah, and go to the original one.
- 19:41Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 19:42Don Armstrong: Treat yourself, you know.
- 19:44Don Armstrong: I know it's I-10 and Highway 6, but um all of the other Lupi Tortillas are patterned after that little house.
- 19:52Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 19:52Don Armstrong: And uh it's unique and it's fun and it's the original.
- 19:56Don Armstrong: 1983, I think.
- 19:58Jeff Dziekan: And if you're in Mike's area of, you know, in the Beaumont area, uh, they've got one out there too.
- 20:01Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 20:03Jeff Dziekan: Right there on the freeway.
- 20:04Jeff Dziekan: Several down here in the Houston, Richmond, Sugarland area.
- 20:07Don Armstrong: All right, time out for Jeff's car culture.
- 20:09Don Armstrong: Where did the full-page car ad go?
- 20:12Jeff Dziekan: Well, uh we talked in the preview of the show that well uh Mike and I were trying to coordinate some videos of some of the old car commercials, Dinosaur, Chevrolet, you know, the Bonanza Boys, all that.
- 20:22Jeff Dziekan: Couldn't really coordinate that, so we came up with this.
- 20:24Jeff Dziekan: Uh they're static.
- 20:25Jeff Dziekan: These are actual magazine ads from back in the day.
- 20:28Jeff Dziekan: The first one that we've got is basically a vintage 1966 ad, and it's good deals back in the day, is what it's what it's called.
- 20:37Jeff Dziekan: No, that's not the right one, is it, Mike?
- 20:39Don Armstrong: That's not the that's not a 66, I can tell you that.
- 20:42Jeff Dziekan: But that's okay.
- 20:43Jeff Dziekan: Let's move on to this.
- 20:44Jeff Dziekan: This one, I believe, is uh well, don't know what that is.
- 20:49Jeff Dziekan: That's the chrome, chrome head more chrome in 1957.
- 20:51Jeff Dziekan: That's not even it.
- 20:52Jeff Dziekan: Move on to the next one, Michael.
- 20:55Don Armstrong: That's a pretty picture.
- 20:56Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, it is.
- 20:58Jeff Dziekan: This one is uh the Cadillac.
- 21:00Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, it's a chrome uh chrome chrome and more chrome is what that is.
- 21:04Jeff Dziekan: So you'd see that in a magazine ad, you'd be flipping through your uh uh with the ladies' magazines that they had back in the day, you that would pop up.
- 21:13Jeff Dziekan: Look, look magazine.
- 21:15Jeff Dziekan: There you go.
- 21:15Jeff Dziekan: Look at that.
- 21:18Jeff Dziekan: Move on to the next one here.
- 21:22Jeff Dziekan: The LaSalle.
- 21:23Jeff Dziekan: The LaSalle.
- 21:24Jeff Dziekan: That one is uh the 1240.
- 21:26Jeff Dziekan: It's for$1,240.
- 21:27Jeff Dziekan: So you won't find that on Hemings for$1240, that's for sure.
- 21:32Jeff Dziekan: Nice little family.
- 21:33Don Armstrong: Yes.
- 21:37Don Armstrong: What does it say something?
- 21:38Don Armstrong: Now go go sailing on the highway.
- 21:41Don Armstrong: Yeah, now we'll go sailing on the highway.
- 21:43Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, as a Mercury A for 41.
- 21:45Jeff Dziekan: Look at that bad boy.
- 21:47Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, not a big fan, but whatever.
- 21:49Jeff Dziekan: But it's the way they actually drew that picture, the rendering of it.
- 21:52Jeff Dziekan: That's that's pretty nice.
- 21:53Don Armstrong: You don't see it.
- 21:55Don Armstrong: The one thing that I've noticed on these, they they actually didn't take a picture.
- 22:00Don Armstrong: Picture of the car.
- 22:01Don Armstrong: Somebody did a drawing.
- 22:03Jeff Dziekan: It was like Bill Heitrick making a rendering, yeah.
- 22:06Jeff Dziekan: The artist back in the design shops of the actual manufacturer would make the pictures.
- 22:11Jeff Dziekan: Like you see in today's automotive car shows where they make an actual picture of the car.
- 22:16Jeff Dziekan: That's what they would do.
- 22:17Don Armstrong: Mercury 8 for 1941.
- 22:20Don Armstrong: Next up.
- 22:22Don Armstrong: Ooh, it's a Woody.
- 22:24Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 22:25Jeff Dziekan: Boston.
- 22:26Don Armstrong: I hit Boston and Buenos Aires.
- 22:29Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 22:30Don Armstrong: You got a little European flair there with the wooden sides of the wagon.
- 22:35Mike Marrs: And of course the other thing, almost all of them have got family members in them, either in the cars or even the drawings.
- 22:43Mike Marrs: But you know who makes that?
- 22:45Mike Marrs: Jeep.
- 22:46Jeff Dziekan: That's a Jeep.
- 22:48Don Armstrong: It is a Jeep.
- 22:48Jeff Dziekan: So you could have a Jeep down.
- 22:50Don Armstrong: Is it a wagoneer?
- 22:51Jeff Dziekan: Uh that I don't know.
- 22:52Jeff Dziekan: But you could drive it from Boston all the way down to West.
- 22:56Jeff Dziekan: That's right.
- 22:58Jeff Dziekan: Stick it on the boat.
- 22:59Jeff Dziekan: Well, no, I think you could be yeah, you could probably get there.
- 23:02unknown: Yeah.
- 23:03Jeff Dziekan: You'd have to cross the uh Panama Canal to put it on a boat.
- 23:07Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 23:08Jeff Dziekan: This is going well.
- 23:11Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, okay.
- 23:12Don Armstrong: Nash Nash.
- 23:15Don Armstrong: Combined with Rambler, and it was called a Nash Rambler eventually.
- 23:19Jeff Dziekan: And that's uh every engineer in the air, or every engineer the air.
- 23:25Jeff Dziekan: That's what it is.
- 23:27Don Armstrong: We've we've re-engineered the air.
- 23:29Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, something like that.
- 23:30Don Armstrong: I guess because of its aerodynamic capabilities.
- 23:33Don Armstrong: And that big old front end looks like a fence.
- 23:36Jeff Dziekan: It does.
- 23:36Don Armstrong: Yeah, it really does.
- 23:39Don Armstrong: Not really attractive.
- 23:40Mike Marrs: No wonder they're not.
- 23:41Mike Marrs: Flat fenders, kind of like uh uh back into the 40s, maybe even 30s.
- 23:46Jeff Dziekan: That's for the coefficient.
- 23:47Jeff Dziekan: The drag coefficient.
- 23:49Jeff Dziekan: That's right.
- 23:51Jeff Dziekan: All right, Mike.
- 23:53Jeff Dziekan: Next.
- 23:54Don Armstrong: I don't know how many you got there.
- 23:56Jeff Dziekan: Oh, yeah.
- 23:56Jeff Dziekan: This is my favorite.
- 23:58Don Armstrong: This one is uh uh blindfold test opens eyes of motorists.
- 24:04Mike Marrs: Yeah, so you're driving blindfolded?
- 24:06Don Armstrong: No, the driver's not blindfolded.
- 24:09Don Armstrong: Come on, look at the you gotta look at the picture, Mike.
- 24:12Jeff Dziekan: Why are we on the why are we on this dirt road in the middle of nowhere and you got a shovel in your hand?
- 24:19Don Armstrong: Because they're trying to demonstrate, apparently, the ride quality of it.
- 24:23Don Armstrong: Right, right.
- 24:24Don Armstrong: Oh, rides like a Cadillac, but it's a dodge.
- 24:26Don Armstrong: It's a dodge.
- 24:28Don Armstrong: And why do you have rope?
- 24:32Mike Marrs: It's just that's crazy.
- 24:34Jeff Dziekan: Thank you, Mike.
- 24:35Jeff Dziekan: That didn't work out.
- 24:36Jeff Dziekan: No, it didn't work out at all.
- 24:37Jeff Dziekan: What happened?
- 24:38Jeff Dziekan: I uh well, they were kind of different that they were they were not in order.
- 24:43Jeff Dziekan: I might have sent them the wrong ones.
- 24:45Mike Marrs: Well, there was no order.
- 24:48Don Armstrong: There was no order, great.
- 24:50Don Armstrong: Well, we you know what, we need to try that again.
- 24:52Don Armstrong: We'll do it again.
- 24:53Don Armstrong: And we needed to we need I want newspaper ads of car dealerships.
- 24:58Don Armstrong: All right.
- 24:59Don Armstrong: Um that and they they should be easy to find because I ran across one.
- 25:03Don Armstrong: I I'm on the same.
- 25:04Don Armstrong: I sent it with you.
- 25:05Don Armstrong: Yeah, I sent it over to you, but I was too late getting it to you to put on there.
- 25:09Don Armstrong: But I will tell you that uh it's funny because if you remember correctly, on the weekends, mainly on Saturday, the car dealerships used to run full page newspaper ads for the cars.
- 25:22Don Armstrong: Well, that one there is the parts department at Kmart.
- 25:25Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, that's the one you sent me.
- 25:26Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 25:27Don Armstrong: And uh the full pay and they had all of the prices, all of the cars on there.
- 25:31Don Armstrong: So you go there and say, I want that car right there.
- 25:34Don Armstrong: Oh, I'm sorry, we sold that.
- 25:36Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 25:37Don Armstrong: I don't think it'd be differ it'd be difficult to do these days, especially with the new laws that in the lawsuits.
- 25:44Mike Marrs: Exactly.
- 25:44Mike Marrs: Yeah.
- 25:44Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 25:45Don Armstrong: I don't know how you'd do it, but you'd have to do it online, I guess.
- 25:48Don Armstrong: But uh yeah, full page ads, all of the new cars, all of the used cars, and then there was always a big thing in there about you know oil changes uh this weekend or$9.95 or whatever it was.
- 25:59Don Armstrong: And different grades of oil.
- 26:00Don Armstrong: Yeah, good bad.
- 26:02Don Armstrong: Yep, all that.
- 26:03Don Armstrong: And you could also buy tires.
- 26:05Don Armstrong: I know at Richardson Chevrolet, guess what kind of tires we sold?
- 26:09Don Armstrong: Don't know.
- 26:10Don Armstrong: Armstrong tires.
- 26:11Don Armstrong: Oh boy.
- 26:12Don Armstrong: Armstrong the road.
- 26:13Don Armstrong: Do you remember those ads?
- 26:15Don Armstrong: Armstrong tires?
- 26:16Mike Marrs: Now that you mention it.
- 26:18Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 26:18Don Armstrong: Wow.
- 26:19Don Armstrong: Well, that was back in the day.
- 26:20Don Armstrong: Armstrong tires.
- 26:21Don Armstrong: Do they still make those?
- 26:22Don Armstrong: I bet you.
- 26:23Jeff Dziekan: It was U Royal, wasn't it?
- 26:25Jeff Dziekan: Uh I I don't I don't think they make them.
- 26:27Jeff Dziekan: Armstrong tires.
- 26:28Jeff Dziekan: But don't know.
- 26:29Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 26:30Don Armstrong: Said I thought Armstrong on the side of the tire.
- 26:33Don Armstrong: Look at that.
- 26:33Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 26:34Jeff Dziekan: Famous.
- 26:35Don Armstrong: They were proud.
- 26:36Don Armstrong: I wasn't.
- 26:37Don Armstrong: I was embarrassed.
- 26:39Don Armstrong: Because I mean, no, who would who would go at that time?
- 26:42Don Armstrong: You'd never go to the car dealership and buy tires.
- 26:46Don Armstrong: Unless you they came in on a wrecker and you had no choice.
- 26:51Don Armstrong: Collision shop or something else.
- 26:52Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 26:53Mike Marrs: Well, you for one thing you don't think about it.
- 26:55Mike Marrs: And you just that's not where I would think about going to buy tires for my car.
- 26:59Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 27:00Don Armstrong: Uh we are going to do driving destinations, but not right now, Mike.
- 27:04Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 27:04Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 27:05Don Armstrong: So we're going to go and play some commercials, I think, is what we're going to get.
- 27:08Don Armstrong: Yeah, we've got a guest chime in, I believe.
