- 0:00Romans chapter 15, let us pray our Lord, our God, our King, our
- 0:07Savior. Thank you Father, for salvation.
- 0:10Thank you, Father, for giving us life and life eternal.
- 0:14Thank you, Lord God, for your spoken word.
- 0:17Thank you, Father, that we can hold your spoken word in our
- 0:20hands, that it is alive and active and it is discerning us,
- 0:24God. It is reading us God.
- 0:26And so I pray right now, Holy Spirit, that you'll come and
- 0:30fill us today. I decrease as you increase.
- 0:33Teach us your eternal paths. Teach us your ways.
- 0:36Father, help me to get out of the way.
- 0:38Hide me and hide my words and hide my thoughts.
- 0:41Father, it is all about King Jesus yesterday, today, and
- 0:45forever. We're looking up.
- 0:46We're seeing that our redemption is drawing near.
- 0:50And God, we know that you are coming on the clouds.
- 0:53We know that you're coming in all your glory with the heavenly
- 0:57host. We thank you, Father, that
- 0:59every, everything is moving according to your timeline.
- 1:03And God, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
- 1:05God, we pray, Father, that you will be the one who's
- 1:09orchestrating all the events in the earth, that nothing is
- 1:13hidden and nothing God is without you knowing about it,
- 1:18Lord. And so, Father, we just say yes
- 1:20and Amen to all the promises contained in this book.
- 1:24We know that you're bringing about all of your plans, Father,
- 1:29into the the world right now. So Lord, we just want to be
- 1:33wherever it is that you want us to be.
- 1:35We only want to do the things that you want us to do.
- 1:38God, let us, as we get in your word, let us meditate upon these
- 1:42scriptures and let us receive from you your power and love
- 1:47God, and let us receive from you our orders for today what it is
- 1:52that we're supposed to do for today.
- 1:53We thank you that your mercies are new today.
- 1:56We thank you, God, that you have chosen us before the foundations
- 2:02of the earth, and You've predestined us, God, for such a
- 2:04time as this. So we say yes and Amen to you,
- 2:07Lord and all of your ways. Lord, we know that you are
- 2:11unsearchable in all of your ways.
- 2:13And so Lord, we just get out of our own way.
- 2:16And Lord, we only want to be found doing whatever it is that
- 2:19you want us to do. Let us be light and salt today
- 2:22to this wicked and perverse generation.
- 2:25God, I pray for revival. Lord, I pray, Lord, that you'll
- 2:29set the church on fire today with zeal that has consumed us,
- 2:34Father. Father, I pray that many will
- 2:37come into salvation today. Let today be that day, Father,
- 2:41as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, God, we
- 2:45acknowledge how supreme you are. We acknowledge that you are over
- 2:49all the universe, you over all of our emotions and
- 2:52circumstances, and we just want more of you.
- 2:55Father, give us a greater understanding of who you are.
- 2:59Father, let us go to the depths of your love and mercy God and
- 3:03give us joy over flowing. God, give us joy.
- 3:07Unsearchable. Father, we love you.
- 3:10Yes, yes. Father, we pray for families.
- 3:13We pray for the family units. God, we pray for all the mothers
- 3:17who are struggling right now with making a decision.
- 3:19God, I pray that they'll choose life today.
- 3:22Father, I pray for all those that are confused that you
- 3:25remove the spirit of confusion from off of the youth.
- 3:29Father, I pray for parents to be parents.
- 3:32Father, I pray that you will give them the authority over
- 3:36their household. God, I pray that you'll
- 3:38reinstitute families, God, all across this entire world.
- 3:43Lord, we love you, King Jesus. It's all about you, King Jesus.
- 3:47It'll always be about you, King Jesus, and it's in your holy and
- 3:51precious name that I pray. Amen.
- 3:56Let's start in verse one. We then that are strong ought to
- 4:01bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves.
- 4:05Think about that, friends. Think about how those of us who
- 4:09have been walking with the Lord for any amount of time and He's
- 4:12been sanctifying us. We don't need to try to use that
- 4:19to break the weak ones down. We need to try to edify them and
- 4:22build them up in Christ. 10 Let everyone of us please his
- 4:28neighbor for his good edification.
- 4:31That is it, friends. We need to be building up our
- 4:33neighbors. We need to be teaching them the
- 4:35ways of Christ. We need to be sharing with them
- 4:38the tools that have helped us the most.
- 4:40And the number one tool that we need to develop is to develop a
- 4:44unoffendable spirit. If we are unoffendable, there is
- 4:48so much growth in that. Friends. 3 For even Christ,
- 4:52please, not himself, but as it is written, the reproach,
- 4:56approaches of them that reproached you fell on me.
- 4:59So Christ was willing to take all the mockery, He was willing
- 5:04to take all of the ridicule, He was willing to take all the
- 5:08reproaches that people cast upon him.
- 5:11And he did not try to make a point.
- 5:13He was trying to make a difference, Friends.
- 5:15For for whatsoever things were written before time were written
- 5:19for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the
- 5:24scriptures might have hope. So that's what you can see this
- 5:27Jewish and Gentile believers in one salvation.
- 5:31You see that the scriptures of old were for the edification of
- 5:35the Saints and they lead to comfort.
- 5:38They lead to learning they lead to patience.
- 5:41We know that they were written through the Holy Spirit,
- 5:44inspired by the Holy Spirit, and five.
- 5:47Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like
- 5:51one toward another according to Christ Jesus.
- 5:55Division and discord is not from God, friends, that is of the
- 5:59enemy and God hates it. Whenever a man sows discord
- 6:03amongst a group of believers, that is not from God.
- 6:07And you need to know that there is unity in the community
- 6:10whenever the Holy Spirit is present.
- 6:13If you see discord, division, and dissension, it is because
- 6:17the Holy Spirit is absent in that body.
- 6:20Six, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even
- 6:25the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 6:27That is what you need to know. We need to be in one accord with
- 6:31our brothers and sisters. We do not need to try to break
- 6:35each other down because they might not believe in one little
- 6:38aspect the way that you do. There's so much splitting hairs
- 6:41of theology that actually split congregations, friends.
- 6:46And God is not in it, friends. He is going to be the one one to
- 6:50be glorified and honored throughout all the ages forever
- 6:54and all men. It is one mouth and one mind. 7
- 6:59Wherefore receive you one another as Christ also received
- 7:03us to the glory of God, So that is what you need to know.
- 7:07We were once sinners. We were once dead in our
- 7:10trespasses. We were once the tax collectors
- 7:13and the fishermen and the prostitutes, but Jesus called us
- 7:19unto himself and he cleansed us and he washed us clean and white
- 7:24as snow. And there are many now who are
- 7:26addicted to drugs and alcohol and pornography.
- 7:30There are many now who are addicted to violence and self
- 7:33and vanity. There are many now friends who
- 7:36are in that way who are going to come into the fold, and we need
- 7:40to receive them whenever they do.
- 7:43We do not need to be the ones to try to keep them out of the
- 7:47congregation because they do not look like us, because we were
- 7:51once those people. And we need to remember just how
- 7:54far we have come. And we don't need to be the ones
- 7:59to break others down. We were once those people. 8 Now
- 8:07I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for
- 8:11the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.
- 8:15So he wanted us to circumcise our heart.
- 8:18He wanted to give us a new heart and a new mind, friends, and
- 8:23that is what Jesus was after. He wasn't after all of the
- 8:26external Jewish customs and traditions that kept them from
- 8:30disease and kept them from being exterminated off the face of the
- 8:36earth. He gave them a lot of their laws
- 8:39for their sanitation friends. And now when Jesus came, he said
- 8:44he fulfilled the law. He did not abolish it, but he
- 8:47fulfilled it. And he came wanting us to
- 8:50circumcise our hearts. 9 and that the Gentiles might glorify
- 8:55God for his mercy, as it is written for this, 'cause I will
- 9:00confess to you among the Gentiles, and to sing unto your
- 9:04name. So God's plan from eternity was
- 9:08to bring the Gentiles in after the Jews.
- 9:11He revealed himself to the Jews. He built that nation up, and
- 9:15then through their disobedience, us as Gentiles have come into
- 9:20the fold, And he knew it, and we are singing his name unto this
- 9:24day. 10 And again he says, Rejoice you Gentiles with his
- 9:28people, so you can see the the Gentiles and the Jews come
- 9:33together. And how much more blessed is it
- 9:36to be a Jew and a Christian at the same time?
- 9:40Much more blessed than just being a Christian.
- 9:43Think about it. And this calls for wisdom. 12
- 9:47And again Isaiah says there shall be a root of Jesse, and he
- 9:52that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, in him shall the
- 9:56Gentiles trust. It's in Jesus Christ, this stump
- 10:00of Jesse who came, friends, that we have all hope and trust. 13
- 10:06Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace and
- 10:09believing that you may abound in hope through the power of the
- 10:13Holy Ghost. That's the only power that's
- 10:15available to us, friends, is the filling of the Holy Ghost.
- 10:18And it is only power that can break off all of our
- 10:22infirmities, break off all of our sins, friends, all the
- 10:26things that are entangling us. We need the Holy Ghost, friends,
- 10:31to help us to get out from underneath those sinful actions,
- 10:37sinful propensities, all of the sinful desires of that we have.
- 10:45We need the Holy Ghost. He's the only one that can shine
- 10:48light on the things that are holding us back from
- 10:51experiencing the fullness of God in our lives.
- 10:54We need the power of the Holy Ghost to give us the peace and
- 10:57the joy and the hope and the belief.
- 10:59Friends, it is only the Holy Ghost that can help you love God
- 11:03more. 14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brothers,
- 11:10that you also are full of goodness, filled with all
- 11:15knowledge, and also to admonish one another.
- 11:19That is the outflow of the Christian love.
- 11:22Friends, we need to understand that that is when we're filled
- 11:26with the Holy Ghost, we'll be able to admonish one another.
- 11:29We'll have all the knowledge and the goodness friends that we
- 11:34need because the Holy Spirit is the complete authority, friends.
- 11:39He is the complete entity that we need.
- 11:43There is not the Holy Spirit plus something, friends.
- 11:47It is not Holy Spirit plus a whole library full of
- 11:50commentary. It is not the Holy Spirit plus
- 11:53your favorite Bible teacher. It's the Holy Spirit who teaches
- 11:57us and deep calls to deep friends.
- 11:59And it is one spirit. And when someone speaks
- 12:02something that is of God, the Holy Spirit quickens us in the
- 12:06inner man to let us know that what they are saying is truthful
- 12:10and what we need to make sure that we are locked in memorizing
- 12:14these things. Friends.
- 12:15And if you want to know the unrevealed will of God, just
- 12:18start obeying His revealed will. 15 Nevertheless, brothers, I
- 12:24have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as
- 12:28putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of
- 12:31God. So that is what Paul's whole
- 12:34point of the whole letter here to the church in Rome is.
- 12:38He was wanting to bring them into one mind, friends, and to
- 12:43set their minds upon Christ, not upon these earthly things. 16
- 12:51That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles,
- 12:54ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the
- 12:59Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy
- 13:04Ghost. That's what the whole process
- 13:06is, friends. That's what you need to know,
- 13:09that you have a minister who speaks a word to a congregation
- 13:12and the Holy Spirit quickens it in them.
- 13:15And it leads to the sanctification, friends, of
- 13:18being made more like Christ each and every day.
- 13:21And the thing that we struggle with more than anything is this
- 13:24little thing called time. And God's not bound by time,
- 13:28friends. He lives outside of time.
- 13:30And that's why we struggle with it so much.
- 13:33But if we will just rest and if we will just trust in today,
- 13:38don't worry about tomorrow. It has enough worries in itself.
- 13:41Just worry about today, friends. And if you will do that, then by
- 13:46and by, over years and years and years, you're going to look back
- 13:49and see just how far you have come and all the little things
- 13:52that you didn't see anything wrong with 10 years ago.
- 13:56You're going to see that God was putting His finger on it and He
- 13:59was pulling out and He had you in the refiner Spire, friends,
- 14:03and He was pulling out all the dross and the impurities.
- 14:06And that is the sanctification, and the Holy Ghost in you is
- 14:11what is going to help you connect the dots, Friends. 17 I
- 14:17have therefore where I have made glory through Jesus Christ and
- 14:21those things which pertain to God.
- 14:23So that is what Paul wants us to bring glory unto God with our
- 14:28lifestyle not being a stumbling block to the weaker brothers,
- 14:32and to not use our liberty as a reason to sin, not to abuse
- 14:37grace, but to be sanctified, friends, and to be made more
- 14:41like Christ. And we must consecrate this
- 14:44temple, get rid of all the idol worship that we've LED in. 18
- 14:48For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ
- 14:52has not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient by word
- 14:57and deed. It's not just by what we say,
- 15:00but we actually have to prove it by what we do.
- 15:03And that's what the book of James is talking about.
- 15:05And it is grace and grace alone, friends, and it is the blood of
- 15:08Christ that saves us, and it is a free gift.
- 15:11And you need to know that it is not by works, friends, but it is
- 15:15once you come into the faith. It is by word and deed.
- 15:21And that's what proves our place with Him.
- 15:23And we can see it overflowing into other people's lives and
- 15:27it'll be natural and it will not be manufactured.
- 15:31It is obedience to the word, friends.
- 15:34It's not just the interpretation then it is actually doing it.
- 15:37It's not just being a fat Christian, a fat baby who never
- 15:42grew up. Friends, we need to make sure
- 15:44that we're actually going out and disciplining the body and
- 15:48making the body to be under all of the knowledge that we have in
- 15:54our brain. We must bring the body into
- 15:56submission, and fasting is a great way to start that, to make
- 16:00the body to die so that we can discipline it, friends, and that
- 16:07we will make it do what the Spirit tells us to do.
- 16:10It is obedience, friends 19 through mighty signs and wonders
- 16:18by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and
- 16:22roundabout unto eloquium. I have fully preached the gospel
- 16:27of Christ. So he's saying with signs and
- 16:29miracles and wonders. He went from as far as the east
- 16:33is to the West, the known world. Paul went on missionary journey
- 16:38after missionary journey, making sure that he went and he
- 16:41pioneered churches and places that did not have the gospel.
- 16:45Friends. He wasn't trying to build up on
- 16:47somebody else's reputation on their foundation.
- 16:51He was only trying to spread the word of God to the entire world,
- 16:55from Illicrum all the way to Jerusalem.
- 16:58Friends. 20 Yeah, so have I strive to preach the gospel, not
- 17:05where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another's
- 17:09foundation. 21 But as it is written, to whom has to whom he
- 17:16was not spoken of, they shall see, and they that have not
- 17:21heard shall understand. That is the gospel going out to
- 17:25all the Gentile nations, and Paul was the pioneer to all the
- 17:30Gentiles friends. As Peter sat there and was
- 17:34preaching to the Jews and had a wonderful ministry, Paul was at
- 17:38work busy as a tent maker supporting himself and spreading
- 17:42the gospel to all the Gentile known world. 22 For which cause
- 17:47also I have been much hindered from coming to you.
- 17:51Paul had so much work to do and he was hindered from wanting to
- 17:55do the things that he wanted to do because the Holy Spirit was
- 18:00the one that was leading him along.
- 18:02Friends, and we need to know that Paul saw the importance of
- 18:08ministering to those who have never heard, and it's no
- 18:11different in our day and our hour.
- 18:13He says that by this time you should be teaching the Word of
- 18:16God, but you're still on the spiritual milk and he's telling
- 18:20you to quit being a baby Christian and to grow up and to
- 18:23actually learn the Scriptures. Get rooted in the Scriptures and
- 18:27actually be teaching those all around you who are stuck in sin
- 18:32and stuck in the carnal mind. We need to be the ones helping
- 18:36them, edifying them and not being the stumbling block to
- 18:39them. 23 But now having no more place in these parts and having
- 18:48a great desire these many years to come unto you.
- 18:51Paul wanted to go to Rome, but he thought it was going to be as
- 18:54a missionary. He didn't realize it was going
- 18:56to be as a prisoner on Rome's dawn. 24 Whensoever I take my
- 19:01journey into Spain, I will come to you, for, I trust to see you
- 19:05in my journey and to be brought on my way there towards you, if
- 19:11first I'd be somewhat filled with your company.
- 19:16So he was thinking he was going to go on to Spain.
- 19:18He would just stop in and Rome. He didn't realize that he had to
- 19:21go to Rome to appear before Nero, Caesar and he had a first
- 19:27class ticket to Rome on Rome's dime.
- 19:30And here when he's writing this letter from Corinth, he didn't
- 19:34realize it, but perhaps after he was exonerated at the end of the
- 19:39book of Acts, perhaps he did go on to Spain.
- 19:42We do not know. 25 But now I go unto Jerusalem, to minister unto
- 19:50the Saints. 26 For it has pleased them of Macedonia and
- 19:55Achaea to make a certain contribution for the poor Saints
- 19:59which are at Jerusalem. 27 It has pleased them truly, and
- 20:03their debtors they are for if the Gentiles have been made
- 20:07partaken. Of the spiritual things, their
- 20:10duty is also to minister unto them and carnal things.
- 20:13So what a thought, friends, it is both.
- 20:16He knows that we have to eat. He knows that we have to take
- 20:21care of our families. We cannot just be so heavenly
- 20:26minded that we're no earthly good, but we cannot be so
- 20:29earthly minded that we are no heavenly good.
- 20:32We need to make sure that we're balanced and we're practical.
- 20:36We're both Mary and Martha. We can't just be one or the
- 20:40other. If we're all Martha, our joy is
- 20:42stolen from us and all we are thinking about is the decimal
- 20:46points. But if we are the Marys of this
- 20:49world, we're going to find ourselves in a place of poverty
- 20:53with nothing, friends. So we need to be balanced in our
- 20:57approach. And he says that the children of
- 20:58this world are more shrewd than the children of light.
- 21:02He says he sends us out like sheep among wolves and to be as
- 21:06innocent as doves and be as shrewd as snakes.
- 21:09And this calls for wisdom, friends.
- 21:11He knows that we need to have our provisions.
- 21:15But the key to all of unlocking this is making sure that we take
- 21:19no thought for tomorrow, to be very grateful for the food and
- 21:23the clothing that we have for today.
- 21:26We don't worry about tomorrow. 28 When, therefore I have
- 21:32performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come
- 21:37by you into Spain. 29 For I am sure that when I come unto you,
- 21:43I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of
- 21:48Christ. 30 Now I beg you, brothers, for the Lord Jesus
- 21:52Christ's sake and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive
- 21:57together with me in your prayers to God for me.
- 22:01There's the Trinity right there, God the Father and God the Son
- 22:06and God the Holy Ghost, three and one, friends, And he's
- 22:09saying the best thing you can do for me is not to send money or
- 22:13material blessings, but to pray for me.
- 22:15If we understood what happens in the spiritual realm in our
- 22:19prayer life, we would spend more time praying and less time
- 22:23worrying and less time doing all the things that please us and
- 22:29all the things that we think we should be doing.
- 22:32We would spend way more time praying.
- 22:34We need to pray without ceasing. We need to make sure we don't
- 22:37worry about anything and pray about everything.
- 22:39Take every thought captive, friends, and pray about it.
- 22:42Don't let your mind wander, but make sure that we are praying,
- 22:47and especially for missionaries and preachers and pastors and
- 22:50churches, friends, we need to be praying that this revival will
- 22:56break out in the world today. 31 that I may be delivered from
- 23:02them that do not believe in Judea, and that my service,
- 23:06which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the Saints.
- 23:10So he knew that there was some danger.
- 23:12He was walking into the lion's den.
- 23:14He was going into the pit, friends, and we need to be the
- 23:18ones holding the rope. We need to be the ones helping
- 23:21all of those that are going down into the darkest places.
- 23:25We're sending them friends and we're praying circles around
- 23:28them and a hedge of protection around them, friends.
- 23:30And if we even understood how our prayers worked, we would
- 23:34spend way more time praying. 32 that I may come unto you with
- 23:41joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
- 23:47What a refreshing it is when you get around somebody and the Holy
- 23:50Spirit and you and the Holy Spirit and them connect and deep
- 23:53cause to deep, and you are refreshed by them because you
- 23:56realize you're not a Lone Ranger.
- 23:58You're not out here in the world all by yourself.
- 24:01And we rejoice whenever somebody's spiritual blinders
- 24:05get taken off, when their ears get unstopped, because it is
- 24:08only by God and God alone that can do that.
- 24:11We cannot manufacture those moments.
- 24:13And that is how we become refreshed in this walk.
- 24:16We'll end on 33. Now.
- 24:18The God of peace be with you all.
- 24:20Amen. That was the end of Paul's
- 24:23remarks to the Church of Rome. He's going to give us another
- 24:26chapter of greetings. And what you need to know is
- 24:30that the end of the day is only the blood of Jesus Christ that
- 24:33gets us there. And everything else after that
- 24:36is just rewards based. I hope that you have been
- 24:41blessed by this book. I hope you've been blessed by
- 24:43this chapter. I know I sure have.
- 24:46I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 24:48Stay prayed up today. Stay armored up today.
- 24:53We do not mourn like the rest of the world who have no hope.
- 24:58We reflect and not react. Friends, it's all about Jesus
- 25:04Christ and He's leading us home and all the current events in
- 25:07the world are all part of the plan.
- 25:12These things must happen. I love you, praying for you.
- 25:30We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 25:32God bless you.
