- 0:02Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Well, in continuing the big game coverage post reaction, we
- 0:12Speaker 2: get Terminolo's take. Hey, Louis, how are.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We I'm doing well? Uh, Alex? Uh, you're doing okay.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Well, you know what, We're gonna have a mix of
- 0:21Speaker 2: young voices and veteran voices. We got you, we got Dean,
- 0:24Speaker 2: We got Ryan Pagano coming on this week. So it's
- 0:27Speaker 2: gonna be a mix of reaction this week. How about that?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Well, you have the old guy here and then you
- 0:32Speaker 1: have you have the young guys.
- 0:34Speaker 2: They're never old. Lou Year's youthful as ever, So let's talk.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I got to say a.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Couple of things before we start. You know, we saw it.
- 0:41Speaker 1: How wrong was I last week? How saying it's it
- 0:45Speaker 1: was gonna be a terrific game, And uh, you can't
- 0:49Speaker 1: go against Mahomes and you can't go against Mahomes until
- 0:51Speaker 1: he loses. Well, now they lost.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I never what did I say all season? I feel
- 0:56Speaker 2: like you cut up a reel and me saying every
- 0:58Speaker 2: win they've had been in un eddie, I don't trust
- 1:01Speaker 2: them in the playoffs. And while they got there to
- 1:04Speaker 2: the Super Bowl, a lot of the flaws that every
- 1:07Speaker 2: we were saying showed up on Sunday right.
- 1:10Speaker 1: No doubt about it. Obviously, they had trouble with the
- 1:14Speaker 1: Philadelphia defensive front. Like we said last week that they
- 1:18Speaker 1: were going to have trouble with the defensive front, the
- 1:22Speaker 1: speed and the mobility of them, and obviously having a
- 1:28Speaker 1: two wei who's an All Pro guard go out to
- 1:33Speaker 1: tackle that was just that was just a killer for them.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But the better team won. We said all year the
- 1:42Speaker 1: Eagles had a better roster than anybody in the league,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and they they proved it that they're they're the Super
- 1:53Speaker 1: Bowl champions, deserving Super Bowl champion. Now I would not
- 1:57Speaker 1: have given Jalen Hurts the end. Yes, he played a
- 2:01Speaker 1: very solid game. I think he threw the ball better
- 2:04Speaker 1: in the last two games than at any time during
- 2:08Speaker 1: the course of the season against the Commanders and against
- 2:12Speaker 1: the Chiefs. But defense won that game for Philadelphia, led
- 2:18Speaker 1: by Josh Schwatt. He had two and a half sacks,
- 2:21Speaker 1: he had six pressures. Obviously, the Eagles defensive front was
- 2:26Speaker 1: harassing Mahomes the whole game. You had to give it
- 2:31Speaker 1: to a defensive player. You had to give it to
- 2:33Speaker 1: Josh Swett. In my opinion, but the quarterback is the
- 2:37Speaker 1: low hanging fruit.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It's easy, but well, you know, and you know what,
- 2:42Speaker 2: the manning throw to Tyree will live in him, live forever,
- 2:45Speaker 2: even the manning him throwing the second role. They beat
- 2:47Speaker 2: the Patriots, but they wouldn't have won those Super Bowls
- 2:50Speaker 2: if they didn't have the defense. And I believe that's
- 2:53Speaker 2: true in this case as well.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It's very similar, Alex to those games.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And how wild is it? We saw Brady who you
- 3:01Speaker 2: know what? I think you did okay? As announcer, I
- 3:04Speaker 2: prefer Kevin Harlan in Westwood one Sports. That's my guy.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I love listening to him. But kudos to Kevin Burkhart,
- 3:11Speaker 2: a local guy right calling another Ship Bowl for Fox
- 3:14Speaker 2: is pretty cool. But the point is you saw Brady.
- 3:18Speaker 2: He was watching exactly what he underwent about seventeen years ago.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I think that's kind of a weird full circle moment
- 3:24Speaker 2: right there.
- 3:25Speaker 1: It is. And I thought Brady was okay in the
- 3:29Speaker 1: first half. The second half the game was so bad.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I mean, you knew that, you knew that the game
- 3:33Speaker 1: was over, and it's hard to try to juice up
- 3:37Speaker 1: a game like that if if you're a play by.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Play because tomorrow is Lincoln's birthday, and he literally said,
- 3:43Speaker 2: the Eagles are up by four score and I'm like, see,
- 3:46Speaker 2: that's a great tribute to right there.
- 3:49Speaker 1: A good catch, a very good catch.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Being of good catch, Cooper de Gene. You know, I
- 3:55Speaker 2: was making this point yesterday and maybe you'll agree or disagree.
- 3:58Speaker 2: If there wasn't a Jaydon Daniels in the Rookie of
- 4:01Speaker 2: the Year running right Dejene was up there. I mean,
- 4:04Speaker 2: he had quite a year for those Eagles.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Well he was. I mean, obviously it was a great pick,
- 4:10Speaker 1: A great pick for the Eagles. They have the two
- 4:13Speaker 1: young guys in the back, Dejeene and Quinton Mitchell Verse
- 4:18Speaker 1: one the defensive player get deservingly so for the Rams.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I mean, it's a great edge rusher. But Dejene was
- 4:26Speaker 1: you know, he was one of the finalists for Defensive
- 4:28Speaker 1: Rookie of the Year. One of the things that you
- 4:32Speaker 1: can't criticize anybody in this game as far as strategy,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I don't believe. But I'm just gonna throw a little
- 4:38Speaker 1: criticism to Andy Reid and last week he said he's
- 4:43Speaker 1: not only a great coach, he's also a great offensive coordinator.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I did not think he had a great game as
- 4:48Speaker 1: an offensive Cornata last week. The first thirteen plays at
- 4:51Speaker 1: the Chiefs ran, he passed twelve times, so they never
- 4:55Speaker 1: established a run. And then they knew that their offensive
- 4:58Speaker 1: line was getting the crap kick out of them, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: at halftime Andy Reid and the chief offensive staff made
- 5:04Speaker 1: no adjustments to try to alleviate that pressure. I mean
- 5:07Speaker 1: right away, they had two sacks in that first minute
- 5:10Speaker 1: of the second half. So hey, everybody has a bad day.
- 5:14Speaker 1: All I know is as a fan of the New
- 5:16Speaker 1: York Jets, I would love to be in the Super
- 5:18Speaker 1: Bowl five times in six years and win three of them.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So I'll just take I'll just take having the Giants
- 5:24Speaker 2: colors on the Empire State build they have for Super Bowl. Okay,
- 5:27Speaker 2: That's what I'll take it this, you know, the only
- 5:29Speaker 2: one this game was there were a couple of things
- 5:32Speaker 2: and I say, and I guess they listened to me,
- 5:35Speaker 2: the Saints because I said, pay Kellen Moore, and sure enough,
- 5:38Speaker 2: they're gonna pay him to be their head coach. But
- 5:40Speaker 2: you know, he he outlasted a defensive Hall of Fame
- 5:45Speaker 2: coordinator in Spegnol. He's a Hall of Fame coordinator. Do
- 5:48Speaker 2: they have those things in the Hall of Fame, or.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I mean they don't. They've never put a coordinator in
- 5:52Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame. I think they're gonna have to
- 5:55Speaker 1: because the coordinators, you know, many years ago, we not
- 6:00Speaker 1: even many years ago, not too long ago. Yeah, we
- 6:02Speaker 1: knew of Bill Arnsbarg with Miami and you know Belichick.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But now the coordinators are front and center, whether offensive
- 6:11Speaker 1: or defense. They have taken a different mantle in the
- 6:17Speaker 1: administration of a coaching staff. They're important.
- 6:20Speaker 2: They know. It changes all that debate now because all
- 6:22Speaker 2: these coordinators a getting hired as head coaches. So all
- 6:25Speaker 2: of the Campbell staff is now basically a head coach. Yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 2: a lot of the Belichick coordinators are now head coaches.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I mean it's a thing they have developed in their
- 6:34Speaker 2: coordinator role to become a great head coach.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and some of them, Alex, some of them when
- 6:39Speaker 1: they get the chance to be.
- 6:40Speaker 2: A head coach, not always great, right and then, but.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They're great coordinators. So you know, but that that is
- 6:47Speaker 1: so important in modern football. You have to have an
- 6:50Speaker 1: outstanding coordinator both offensive, defense and special teams coordinator also.
- 6:58Speaker 2: A big fangio. Not letting the Chiefs and I know
- 7:01Speaker 2: it's defense, but he was coordinating in the right way
- 7:04Speaker 2: to not let the Chiefs get anywhere near midfield to
- 7:07Speaker 2: the third quarter. Whoever, as I said yesterday, who can
- 7:11Speaker 2: we say that about with any other game with the Chiefs.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I've never seen that ever with the Chiefs.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's remarkable. They went the first forty
- 7:19Speaker 1: two minutes of the game before they cross midfield.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And turnovers for Mahomes. Now, my fiance Gabby, who was
- 7:27Speaker 2: actually rooting hard against the Chiefs, believe we're all chiefed out. Okay,
- 7:30Speaker 2: we're all cheaper. She thinks that got to his head.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Did this three peat thing get to his head a
- 7:36Speaker 2: little bit you think?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Or no, it did not. It did not. The three
- 7:41Speaker 1: pet thing didn't get through his head. There's still a dynasty,
- 7:44Speaker 1: there's still going to be great. They're still going to
- 7:46Speaker 1: be one of the favorites next year. Mahomes is still
- 7:53Speaker 1: the best player in the league. None of that has changed,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you team.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Did we see a foreshadow with the Xavier Worthy connection
- 8:03Speaker 2: for touchdown? Like, could that be the new Kelsey Mahomes thing?
- 8:07Speaker 2: If Kelsey, you know, as his.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Time, Obviously he's younger. We all know, if Kelsey's going
- 8:11Speaker 1: to be playing next year, I have a feeling Kelsey
- 8:14Speaker 1: will play. I don't think he wants to go out
- 8:17Speaker 1: on you know, on such a terrible loss. Uh but uh,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I mean worthy, he's the best receiver, without question, He's
- 8:27Speaker 1: at fastest receiver. But again, Alex, it was no game.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I mean it was forty to six with three minutes
- 8:35Speaker 1: to go.
- 8:36Speaker 2: So but I want to mention that Vic Fangio. People
- 8:40Speaker 2: may not know he was oh and six against him
- 8:42Speaker 2: as a bron eight eight.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Well, you're right, oh and six with the process of
- 8:48Speaker 1: Miami Denver, You're right.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So I mean, what a uh, what a change, what
- 8:55Speaker 2: a change of pace? And you know, this ego team
- 8:58Speaker 2: had basically the same Personnal. I know, Saquon change a
- 9:01Speaker 2: lot of that culture as well. Everybody was highlighting the
- 9:04Speaker 2: week five. You talk about it to Sirianni yelling at
- 9:08Speaker 2: the fans. I mean, this was a turmoil team and
- 9:11Speaker 2: yet here they are. They just looked like a different
- 9:13Speaker 2: team than they were back when the home the Hurts
- 9:16Speaker 2: Sirianni duo made it against a few years ago.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So well, they both were they both were younger, and
- 9:22Speaker 1: they both you know now you go back to that
- 9:27Speaker 1: instance of Sirianna yelling at the fans and they had
- 9:31Speaker 1: to I don't know if they had to bye week
- 9:34Speaker 1: the next week, but right around that time and everybody
- 9:37Speaker 1: was saying, oh, you don't want to get your bye
- 9:38Speaker 1: week early in the season. I think that helped them.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I think having the bye week that early in the
- 9:43Speaker 1: season helped pull them together. And uh, they only lost
- 9:47Speaker 1: one game the rest of the way. And Alex if
- 9:49Speaker 1: you remember that game, if DeVante Smith holds onto that
- 9:52Speaker 1: third down pass, they would't have lost any games post
- 9:56Speaker 1: by week.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It's amazing when when the when the Redskins, when the
- 10:00Speaker 2: Commanders beat the Eagles in that signature game for Jaden Daniels,
- 10:03Speaker 2: I really thought we were going to see a new
- 10:05Speaker 2: king of the NFC East, and yet Egos prevail. And
- 10:08Speaker 2: you did say early on, still watch out for them,
- 10:11Speaker 2: no matter how under the radar, no matter how shaky
- 10:14Speaker 2: they could be there, they're still a threat. And clearly
- 10:16Speaker 2: they won the Super Bowl, so they're always going to
- 10:17Speaker 2: be a threat. Now for the Giants, I'm hoping seeing
- 10:21Speaker 2: Barkley for them, seeing Barkley winn it a year after
- 10:24Speaker 2: leaving the Giants, motivates them to do right by their
- 10:28Speaker 2: running backs. Have a better offensive line. I mean, this draft,
- 10:32Speaker 2: all lives are gonna be on the QB. But we
- 10:34Speaker 2: see how important it is for a front line. And
- 10:37Speaker 2: you know what, you put Tyrone Tracy behind a very
- 10:40Speaker 2: solid front line. The Giants could be in the postseason
- 10:43Speaker 2: next year.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Well, I mean they can have a very potent running game. Obviously,
- 10:48Speaker 1: they need they need linebackers, they need to build up
- 10:51Speaker 1: an offensive line, they need a quarterback.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Stafford the answer, I mean, he's getting older, but he's
- 10:58Speaker 2: he's still successful.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know why, and I guess I
- 11:02Speaker 1: heard that this morning that Stafford might be up for trade.
- 11:05Speaker 1: First of all, I don't know why the Rams portray
- 11:07Speaker 1: him because they they're still in super Bowl mode. It's
- 11:12Speaker 1: not like they have to go through a rebuild. So
- 11:14Speaker 1: I don't know if this is real or fake. But
- 11:17Speaker 1: I don't understand why the Giants would would have any
- 11:21Speaker 1: any interest in.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I saw one block trade trade Devin Singletary. No Signletary
- 11:27Speaker 2: is part of that running game. You keep him there.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I mean, he's a good part of that running game. Now,
- 11:32Speaker 2: one other thing before we get to it, because there
- 11:33Speaker 2: is another thing that happened this weekend that no one
- 11:35Speaker 2: really is talking about except maybe you and I and
- 11:38Speaker 2: the premiere of the Saint John's Redstorm rising on Vice
- 11:41Speaker 2: Sports tonight. It is gonna be pretty cool. We gotta
- 11:44Speaker 2: talk about them upsetting Yukon on Friday. We gotta talk
- 11:46Speaker 2: about that in a second, but before we get there.
- 11:49Speaker 2: You're a historical guy. Ever seen a coordinator or someone
- 11:53Speaker 2: on the Super Bowl sideline win or lose, end up
- 11:58Speaker 2: going back to the host team as the head coach
- 12:01Speaker 2: a year later? I mean this thing with Kellen Moore,
- 12:03Speaker 2: I'm obsessed with it because I've never seen something where
- 12:05Speaker 2: a coach or coordinator goes to the host team of
- 12:08Speaker 2: the Super Bowl a year later. I've never seen that before.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Again, I would have to think about that to see
- 12:14Speaker 1: if a quarter that went to a host's city interesting.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And could be a good four shout out for New Orleans,
- 12:23Speaker 2: you know, I mean, you never know.
- 12:25Speaker 1: So you know he has he has his work cut
- 12:27Speaker 1: out for him. He does, and uh.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Well, you know who their quarterback is going to be, Like,
- 12:34Speaker 2: I don't know what he's walking into right now.
- 12:36Speaker 1: In norm I mean he has Derek Carr. I think
- 12:38Speaker 1: he has two more years left on his deal. I mean,
- 12:41Speaker 1: he's thirty three, so he's not ancient. Do they keep him? Alex?
- 12:46Speaker 1: There's so many teams looking for a quarterback.
- 12:49Speaker 2: That's the way your Jets are in the med. Do
- 12:51Speaker 2: you think the Jets handled is right? I feel like
- 12:52Speaker 2: they went to the press instead of just handling, and
- 12:55Speaker 2: it looks like another botched moving on statement. Am I
- 12:58Speaker 2: right or no?
- 13:00Speaker 1: I would say I would say no and I would
- 13:02Speaker 1: have And I can go either way on on this.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I understand why. Uh, you know, the new general manager,
- 13:09Speaker 1: the new coach, the new administration. Uh, as far as
- 13:14Speaker 1: football operations go, they want long they want to establish
- 13:18Speaker 1: long range success. That being said, the best quarterback that's
- 13:25Speaker 1: out there, unless something somebody shakes loose, is Aaron Rodgers.
- 13:29Speaker 1: But again, you're only gonna have him. It's only one
- 13:31Speaker 1: year left on his deal, so I don't know if
- 13:35Speaker 1: they're gonna trade him. If they're gonna go, they're gonna
- 13:38Speaker 1: wait till June first to cut them whatever that whichever
- 13:40Speaker 1: works first for the cap. I took on either way
- 13:45Speaker 1: on it. If it was me, if I was in
- 13:48Speaker 1: that if I was in that lot, if I was
- 13:49Speaker 1: in that room. I would have kept him. I would
- 13:52Speaker 1: have kept him because it's not like there's somebody better
- 13:55Speaker 1: now that is.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Either trying to make a name for himself as a
- 13:58Speaker 2: head coach, going in guns blazing with this, or he's
- 14:01Speaker 2: really serious. I think it's a mix of all. I
- 14:03Speaker 2: think he wants to make that first impression with the
- 14:05Speaker 2: Jets organization, and I think he wants to make legitimate
- 14:08Speaker 2: changes as he's taken over right new sheriff in town.
- 14:12Speaker 1: So well, again, there's this misconception that everybody in the
- 14:16Speaker 1: locker room hated Aaron Rodgers. Well, I watched a lot
- 14:18Speaker 1: of guys on radio road last week and even during
- 14:21Speaker 1: the season that was not That's not true at all.
- 14:23Speaker 1: The media hates Aaron Rodgers.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Well, they opened him with all these different stories about him.
- 14:30Speaker 2: It's like the.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Media hates Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers knows how to
- 14:34Speaker 1: play the media.
- 14:36Speaker 2: He does.
- 14:36Speaker 1: He does.
- 14:37Speaker 2: That's why I'm in a giant You know, that would
- 14:39Speaker 2: be so funny if he ended up on the other
- 14:41Speaker 2: side of the locker room.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I mean, I know, I mean, if that happens, it
- 14:44Speaker 1: would be a shocker because then he's forty one. If
- 14:48Speaker 1: he gets banged up and he misses games and the
- 14:51Speaker 1: Giants go four and thirteen. David will be gone, Joe
- 14:55Speaker 1: Shane will be gone. If they if they draft a
- 14:59Speaker 1: young quarterback, m hm, they have to go through the
- 15:02Speaker 1: growing pains. They'll buy some They'll buy some time, I believe.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Now, wait a minute, I do want to say this,
- 15:10Speaker 2: say quant and Eli, although he was injured a little
- 15:12Speaker 2: bit in the beginning, they did play with each other.
- 15:14Speaker 2: And I just think, imagine if Barkley had that front
- 15:18Speaker 2: line and Manny a front line, it could have been
- 15:19Speaker 2: a Manning Barkley super Bowl back in the day. That
- 15:21Speaker 2: would have been really fun. But I can only wish.
- 15:25Speaker 2: So let's move on because I do want to mention.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Unless you have other thoughts on the Super Bowl, I'm
- 15:29Speaker 2: pretty much there was nothing else to talk about. The
- 15:31Speaker 2: game happened, Philly went into chaos as always.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I mean, it just it was thirty four nothing, the
- 15:36Speaker 1: game was over.
- 15:37Speaker 2: So let's talk about a more meaningful moment in our area.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Saint John's beating yukon Saturday Friday night. What a way
- 15:46Speaker 2: to kick off Super Bowl weekend. More importantly, two statement
- 15:51Speaker 2: games back to back. We've talked about lou there for real.
- 15:55Speaker 2: But why is Patino such a successful second year head coach?
- 15:58Speaker 2: I hear that's the thing about it. What second year
- 16:00Speaker 2: and go.
- 16:01Speaker 1: To these teams. A great coach, he builds, he builds
- 16:05Speaker 1: winners quickly. Last year they were on a bubble. They
- 16:08Speaker 1: probably should have been in, could have been in. We
- 16:10Speaker 1: said it last year they would be a bubble team.
- 16:12Speaker 1: We say this year they should go deep into the tournament,
- 16:14Speaker 1: probably to the second week of the weekend of the season,
- 16:19Speaker 1: of the postseason. He's a great he's a great coach.
- 16:22Speaker 1: They're a great defensive team. It's funny I was reading yesterday.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It was I guess I was reading today. He picked
- 16:31Speaker 1: out thirty five or thirty six errors in the game.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Now you win a game at Stores, Connecticut, and I
- 16:38Speaker 1: think Saint John's might be better than Uka. Who knows so
- 16:42Speaker 1: may not be an upset like like most people thieve,
- 16:49Speaker 1: but this is what makes him a great coach. Thirty
- 16:53Speaker 1: five thirty six hours. So we can go in there,
- 16:55Speaker 1: into that locker room, make sure their heads don't get big,
- 16:59Speaker 1: and he'll point out every one of those so called errors,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and uh, it'll it'll improve the team they have. They
- 17:06Speaker 1: have a walkover on Saturday at Seaton Hall. Who's just
- 17:09Speaker 1: horrendous and uh I think, I mean at ninth in
- 17:16Speaker 1: the country, when was the less time that happens?
- 17:19Speaker 2: And I see they have a well they did have
- 17:21Speaker 2: back to back years now of former Seaton Hall guys.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I see Kadari Richmond's on this team now, I mean
- 17:26Speaker 2: that's he's that's so remarkable because the guy Wushu was
- 17:30Speaker 2: that leader of the locker room last year for them.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I mean, so kar Richmond's a much better player.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Well, Kadari when his time at Scena Hall, he was
- 17:38Speaker 2: basically player of the game almost every night. That kid
- 17:41Speaker 2: up the scoreboard. So it's it's good to see him succeed.
- 17:45Speaker 2: You're a Seenah Hall fan. But when you see these
- 17:46Speaker 2: guys succeed in other jerseys, I know it's Saint John's
- 17:50Speaker 2: and the right.
- 17:51Speaker 1: That doesn't make me happy. I'm not like you that way.
- 17:55Speaker 1: That doesn't make me happy. I'm I'm not happy when
- 17:59Speaker 1: they guy not all the time. Not all the time, Alex,
- 18:02Speaker 1: most of the time. When you're gone, you're gone. A
- 18:05Speaker 1: couple of times in my life when Tom Seaver, when
- 18:08Speaker 1: the Mets screwed Tom Seaver and trade him. All Met
- 18:11Speaker 1: fans universally rooted for Tom Seaver when he was on
- 18:15Speaker 1: the Reds, when he was on the White Sox.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And that's why when he went to his three hundred wins,
- 18:19Speaker 2: I was aware what he won.
- 18:21Speaker 1: At the Yankee Stadium that day. I was at the
- 18:23Speaker 1: game with my with my my French fellow Mets fans,
- 18:26Speaker 1: and there was forty five fifty thousand people in the place,
- 18:30Speaker 1: and thirty thousand of them were rooting for sever so
- 18:35Speaker 1: but most of the time, I don't I don't care.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I mean, now here's where, here's why I'm a little nervous. Right. So,
- 18:41Speaker 2: Saquon wins the first year out of the Giants uniform
- 18:43Speaker 2: into the Eagles Yankee fans, I hope this isn't a
- 18:47Speaker 2: pattern where Soto wins his first year as a Met.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I would not want to see that happen, Okay, I.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Just I want to see that happen.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Of course you do, Louis, but we'll have to see
- 18:58Speaker 2: anything else. I know you want to talk about the
- 18:59Speaker 2: Hall of Fame. And look, I'm gonna just be very
- 19:03Speaker 2: blunt right now. Eli, Yes, beat Brady twice. That's an
- 19:08Speaker 2: accomplishment the way he did it was still remarkable. I
- 19:12Speaker 2: mean the way he got out of that and he
- 19:13Speaker 2: did lead the team down the field for those winning drives.
- 19:17Speaker 2: But we always had our gripes from in the regular season.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I feel like Hall of Fame looks at it all
- 19:22Speaker 2: around player, how you were in the regular season the postseason.
- 19:25Speaker 2: He'll be a second ballot, but maybe first ballot is
- 19:27Speaker 2: a stretch to think he would be a first ballot
- 19:29Speaker 2: Hall of Famer.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Okay, I know the quarterback position is different than other
- 19:36Speaker 1: positions in football. I understand that it's a key position.
- 19:40Speaker 1: It's one of the most important positions in football. But
- 19:44Speaker 1: Eli Manning was one of five first year nominees along
- 19:48Speaker 1: with Luke, Keigley, Adam Benettieri, Terrell Suggs, and Marshall Yander.
- 19:56Speaker 1: All of those guys that I just mentioned, with the
- 19:58Speaker 1: exception of Eli, were first team All NFL. Keithley five
- 20:05Speaker 1: times First team All Pro. He was a defensive Rookie
- 20:09Speaker 1: of the Year. He was the NFL Defensive Player of
- 20:13Speaker 1: the Year with the Colts or which team with the Panthers.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Louke from Horston College, Adam Vanteri four time Super Bowl winner,
- 20:23Speaker 1: Clutch Kicks, three time First Team All NFL two thousand
- 20:28Speaker 1: and four scoring champion, Parell Slubbs, NFL Defensive Rookie the
- 20:32Speaker 1: Year in two thousand and three, Defensive Player that You're
- 20:36Speaker 1: in twenty eleven. Play on two Super Bowl winning teams,
- 20:40Speaker 1: one at the end of the career when he was
- 20:41Speaker 1: a backup at Kansas City and won. He had a
- 20:45Speaker 1: main part when they beat San Francisco in the super
- 20:48Speaker 1: Dome when the lights went out. Marshall Yander a great guard.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Two time first Team All Pro, five times second Team
- 20:57Speaker 1: All Pro, member of the All Decade Team twenty tens,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and he played on that World championship team in Baltimore.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Thirty four Sampson of thirty one. Eli Manning has never
- 21:12Speaker 1: gotten one MVP vote, not even a tense plays vote.
- 21:17Speaker 1: He's never gotten an MVP vote, the only black type
- 21:20Speaker 1: he has in regular seasons. He led the NFL in
- 21:24Speaker 1: interceptions three times. Yes, I know, he's in the top
- 21:27Speaker 1: ten in all time passing yards. I get it. I'm
- 21:30Speaker 1: not saying he shouldn't be in. But if Luke Kickley
- 21:34Speaker 1: couldn't get in on the first ballot, which is a travesty,
- 21:38Speaker 1: how could anybody complain about Eli Manning getting on the
- 21:41Speaker 1: first ballot. And I do believe if you're a Hall
- 21:44Speaker 1: of Fame, you're a Hall of Famer. But first ballot
- 21:48Speaker 1: does mean something. The fact that Keickley didn't get in
- 21:52Speaker 1: as a five time Pro Bowl, All NFL Defensive Rookie
- 21:57Speaker 1: of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, egan tackles
- 22:00Speaker 1: two or three times, right, I mean, I know, you know,
- 22:06Speaker 1: I've heard all these people complaining that Eli didn't get in. Yes,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I know, he was Super Bowl MVP twice, but really,
- 22:12Speaker 1: let's face it, We're twelve minutes ago in that Super Bowl,
- 22:16Speaker 1: that historic Super Bowl which the Giants beat the Patriots,
- 22:22Speaker 1: loss of the year. We're twelve minutes ago. The Giants
- 22:25Speaker 1: had three friggin points three, they were losing seven to three.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So again, I he'll get in. So everybody got calm down.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But if these guys didn't get in before him, how
- 22:42Speaker 1: could people complain about, you know, I mean, Manning not
- 22:46Speaker 1: getting in.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I'm looking at your room. By the way, I love
- 22:49Speaker 2: the back job. Is that the retired islander or ranger
- 22:52Speaker 2: numbers are any signatures that.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Is retired that is retired islander numbers that one of
- 23:00Speaker 3: my friend who works in the NHL gave me it's
- 23:02Speaker 3: the retirement with the Dennis pottin h Clark, Gilly's, Brian Trache,
- 23:09Speaker 3: Mike Bossy, Bobby Nystrom, and the great clutch goalie Billy Smith,
- 23:14Speaker 3: all who play on those teams.
- 23:16Speaker 2: That one right there, Lineman of the Year or the
- 23:19Speaker 2: NFL Lineman of the Year, that is U Joe Cleco
- 23:23Speaker 2: and Joe Feels.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Back in nineteen eighty six, Uh year, Jesse did make
- 23:28Speaker 1: the playoffs and then lost one of the toughest games
- 23:31Speaker 1: in their history that they had wrapped up in Cleveland
- 23:33Speaker 1: in double overtime. A terrible loss for the Jets.
- 23:37Speaker 2: So uh yeah, very cool. No, I just I love
- 23:42Speaker 2: the back I love when you go into people's rooms
- 23:44Speaker 2: and you see what they have in the backup. It's
- 23:45Speaker 2: made the zoom era very different, you know anyway it
- 23:48Speaker 2: has anyway back to this Hall of Fame conversation real quick,
- 23:51Speaker 2: the I the the sharp and I get it the
- 23:58Speaker 2: sharp because of his brother. And then of course Antonio
- 24:01Speaker 2: Gates another one.
- 24:03Speaker 1: He should have made it last year, Alex. The fact
- 24:05Speaker 1: he wasn't the first time. Uh.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And you know Gates is a guy that was on
- 24:10Speaker 2: those Charger teams that just they didn't get to that
- 24:14Speaker 2: next level. And I always feel like that's the the
- 24:16Speaker 2: curt Bowl of Charges. They have all these great players,
- 24:18Speaker 2: they just don't know how to get to the next level.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I don't know if that's organizational or or what, but
- 24:21Speaker 2: they just don't.
- 24:22Speaker 1: It could be just one of those things. But you're
- 24:24Speaker 1: you're one hundred correct on it. They just don't. They
- 24:27Speaker 1: have all these great players, Philip Rivers, Uh, well, these
- 24:30Speaker 1: they've had great receivers. They had the great Danileen Towinson
- 24:35Speaker 1: a Hall of Fame, Are you're right? Yeah?
- 24:38Speaker 2: And and so that's uh that that's good for Antonio Gates.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But I want to ask you this because Kukley was
- 24:44Speaker 2: sort of in that same situation with Carolina, right they
- 24:46Speaker 2: they were there with Camp a little bit. But whenever
- 24:49Speaker 2: you see these guys stand out on weaker teams, that
- 24:53Speaker 2: makes them even more Hall of Fame worthy.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Wouldn't you say, well, again, he was so good. I
- 24:58Speaker 1: don't care if he was on if he was on
- 25:00Speaker 1: the Chiefs, if he's on Carolina. He was that good.
- 25:03Speaker 1: And the fact that he didn't get in on his
- 25:06Speaker 1: first ballot, to me, that's a head scratcher. I don't.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I wish I was in that room when they were
- 25:12Speaker 1: when they were voting on Keithley. It's it's really it's
- 25:17Speaker 1: really strange. I took the guy to me when I
- 25:19Speaker 1: watched him play. The guy was spectacular every week.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I know. Do you wish these writer or associations would
- 25:27Speaker 2: reform their way of thinking or have any kind of change.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I mean, well, it's a little bit different at the
- 25:32Speaker 1: end the You know, the Major League Baseball has four
- 25:34Speaker 1: hundred writers media people that vote on it, and I
- 25:40Speaker 1: guess you've had to had to cover major League Baseball
- 25:42Speaker 1: for ten years for at least one hundred games a year.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That's what it used to be. I'm sure it still lives.
- 25:49Speaker 1: But in the NFL, it's fifty media members, mostly writers.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I'm not sure if they're all writers in a room
- 25:59Speaker 1: and each guy, each writer makes an argument for a
- 26:04Speaker 1: guy from the team that they covered. So I know,
- 26:07Speaker 1: for Eli Manning, Bob Glauber of Newsday made the presentation
- 26:13Speaker 1: for Eli. He made he made Eli's presentation of why
- 26:16Speaker 1: he should be a Hall of Famer. You know, Bob
- 26:20Speaker 1: Glauber is now retired news guy for the most part,
- 26:24Speaker 1: but he covered the jetson Giants for Newsday. So, but
- 26:27Speaker 1: that's how the NFL does. But it's only it's only
- 26:29Speaker 1: fifty only fifty guys in a room and uh, fifty
- 26:34Speaker 1: guys and gals in a room who covered the NFL.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Just it's a little strange. Like Gary Myers was the
- 26:43Speaker 1: present got Cleco after all these years. He did that
- 26:47Speaker 1: on Justice, he got Cleco in. He was his presenter.
- 26:50Speaker 1: He was the one who fought the fight to get
- 26:52Speaker 1: to get Joe Clecker in the Hall of Fame.
- 26:55Speaker 2: So, and he's got a new book out, I think,
- 26:57Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken, Ye.
- 26:58Speaker 1: He's written a bunch of books.
- 27:01Speaker 2: With Gary Myers and now so you who's always good.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I listened to him on the different things over the
- 27:05Speaker 2: years as well. All right, Uh, speaking of media, did
- 27:09Speaker 2: you like the way Media Row was covered Radio Row?
- 27:12Speaker 2: Did you follow it at all? I know you probably
- 27:14Speaker 2: were lead to TV and see how they follow they
- 27:17Speaker 2: were doing it on radio.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah, a radio row, I think because of because of Zoom,
- 27:26Speaker 1: apparently there wasn't that many Radio Row of people down
- 27:31Speaker 1: there as in the past. Apparently on Friday ninety percent
- 27:34Speaker 1: of them were out of there. And but you know,
- 27:41Speaker 1: most of the players that are interviewed not only talk
- 27:43Speaker 1: about the NFL, talk about the game, but they're all
- 27:46Speaker 1: hawking something. Even Garnkowski, he was on with Mad Dog
- 27:50Speaker 1: on Friday, uh and but he was hawking. He was
- 27:54Speaker 1: doing he was a spokesperson for Bounty you know.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Okay, So, and there's a lot of guys get these
- 28:00Speaker 2: sponsorships and that's how they get on Radio Row, and
- 28:03Speaker 2: that's what.
- 28:04Speaker 1: It is all week. So but I don't know, you
- 28:08Speaker 1: might see radio right might become a thing of the past.
- 28:12Speaker 1: So who the heck knows because radio stations don't have
- 28:16Speaker 1: to send a guy out there for a week and
- 28:18Speaker 1: the producer and the board and spend all that money
- 28:21Speaker 1: for a hotel room and space in the space in
- 28:26Speaker 1: the convention center or the hotel where radio row is.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Who knows what the future because of technology, what the
- 28:33Speaker 1: future of Radio row might be.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Were you surprised though, despite the blowout, they broke ratings.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I see they were like the most watched Super Bowl?
- 28:40Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 28:42Speaker 1: Yeah? I thought going into the game they would break
- 28:45Speaker 1: the record, But I didn't think they would break the
- 28:48Speaker 1: record if it was thirty four to nothing with two
- 28:51Speaker 1: or three minutes to go in the third quarter. The
- 28:53Speaker 1: fact that they broke the record did surprise me.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Well, I think there's people actually more gripped to it, right, like,
- 29:00Speaker 2: oh my god, the Chiefs are actually going to be
- 29:02Speaker 2: taken down. I mean, we didn't see that happening, but
- 29:05Speaker 2: not just that they were taking on by forty to six.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Just the score is and you know, it's funny. I
- 29:12Speaker 2: was still thinking, well, why don't they just turn off
- 29:15Speaker 2: the lights they did eleven years ago make this a
- 29:17Speaker 2: little closer, because remember the Ravens were blowing out the
- 29:21Speaker 2: Niners at that time, and I loved it because it
- 29:24Speaker 2: was a hardball Bowl and all that. And I didn't
- 29:26Speaker 2: said this on the air last week because I was
- 29:28Speaker 2: more focused on getting Kevin Harland back on the show,
- 29:30Speaker 2: you know, like getting that plate clip played. But you know,
- 29:33Speaker 2: I begged Kevin Harland the information during that blackout for
- 29:37Speaker 2: him to be talking about it on then DOLLG Global Sports.
- 29:40Speaker 2: So I feel like I played a role as an
- 29:42Speaker 2: intern getting out the information on the blackout. It's just
- 29:45Speaker 2: all the connections to that game were coming to mind
- 29:48Speaker 2: because that was the first time since eleven years it
- 29:50Speaker 2: was beneck and no one, so and we saw we
- 29:54Speaker 2: saw the president there and the screen time debate between
- 29:58Speaker 2: him and Taylor. They had nothing else to talk about.
- 30:00Speaker 2: That was the problem. They had no talk about.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So they had nothing to talk about. I mean they
- 30:04Speaker 1: really they really didn't. And uh, you can't blame Kevin Burkhart.
- 30:08Speaker 1: You can't blame Tom Brady. They had nothing to talk about.
- 30:10Speaker 1: There was there was There was no game. The most
- 30:14Speaker 1: I was surprised that they would win a game that
- 30:19Speaker 1: in dominant fashion without Barkley basically doing anything. I mean,
- 30:25Speaker 1: he had ninety six seven yards total in the game.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I think his longest run was nine yards, but doesn't matter.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Obviously there were no I know, and Kevin, Kevin Burkert goes, well,
- 30:37Speaker 2: there he goes, and it was like a nine yard run.
- 30:39Speaker 2: It was just like, oh, there's that burst of Barkley
- 30:41Speaker 2: or something like, it's a nine yard run. What are
- 30:43Speaker 2: we talking about here?
- 30:44Speaker 1: You know, it would mean it was you know, Kevin
- 30:49Speaker 1: Kevin Burkhart when it was thirty four. Nothing was trying
- 30:52Speaker 1: to trying to make the game somewhat interesting. And sometime
- 30:55Speaker 1: the announce it can hurt himself when he does that,
- 30:58Speaker 1: when everybody watching knows it's probably it's out of reach.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Well, he was trying to keep it interesting.
- 31:05Speaker 1: He was trying to keep it interesting. I think at
- 31:06Speaker 1: one point he said, uh, the chiefs of five possessions
- 31:11Speaker 1: behind like this, we're even.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Talking about this part yet. That first flag on the
- 31:17Speaker 2: offensive face mask. It was a legitimate call. But I
- 31:21Speaker 2: know the wheels are turning in people here we go,
- 31:24Speaker 2: they're gonna rig it. Did you feel like they were like, oh,
- 31:27Speaker 2: this is gonna be a first call, first up for
- 31:29Speaker 2: debate caller. It was a legitimate call.
- 31:31Speaker 1: By the way it was, it was it was fifty
- 31:33Speaker 1: to fifty. I would not have called it. I didn't
- 31:35Speaker 1: think it interfered with U.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Uh.
- 31:37Speaker 1: The play with the defensive back trying to defend uh
- 31:42Speaker 1: defend the age was aj and so I would I
- 31:48Speaker 1: would not have.
- 31:50Speaker 2: You mentioned you mentioned Barkley's not running but he made
- 31:52Speaker 2: an incredible catch at about the three.
- 31:54Speaker 1: That that was an incredible catch, and uh, so we
- 31:59Speaker 1: had a great good for him. Giant, the Giant. I
- 32:05Speaker 1: don't want to hear anything about the Giants is the
- 32:06Speaker 1: wrong thing. The Giants is the right thing in trying
- 32:09Speaker 1: to build their team.
- 32:12Speaker 2: So the only role that they did was I didn't
- 32:14Speaker 2: give him a support system back when he was first drafted.
- 32:16Speaker 2: That was right.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's all you can say. I mean, this
- 32:20Speaker 1: Eagle offensive line, and I've been watching football for six decades.
- 32:26Speaker 1: This Eagle offensive line is as good as the Dallas
- 32:28Speaker 1: offensive line in the early nineties, the Washington offensive line
- 32:32Speaker 1: in the eighties that won three Super Bowls in the
- 32:35Speaker 1: eighties and into the early part of the nineties, and
- 32:39Speaker 1: what they call the Electric Company in Buffalo from like
- 32:42Speaker 1: seventy due to seventy six with OJ when OJ was
- 32:46Speaker 1: putting up those ridiculous numbers.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 32:50Speaker 1: But yeah, this offensive line is as good as it
- 32:52Speaker 1: might be the best I've ever seen.
- 32:54Speaker 2: All Right. I get bothered when they put out the
- 32:56Speaker 2: new odds for Super Bowl sixty. By the way, we're
- 32:58Speaker 2: gonna go. Are we gonna go looing and our sponsor
- 33:00Speaker 2: and get us down there for sup Bowl sixty?
- 33:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we need somebody's sponsor us. It's uh. The tickets
- 33:05Speaker 1: are like six thousand dollars.
- 33:07Speaker 2: That would be I mean, the sixtieth Super Bowl. I
- 33:09Speaker 2: would freaking love to go and do that as coverage.
- 33:13Speaker 2: You know, that would be special. So maybe you and
- 33:15Speaker 2: I can work on that. This this this year, we.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Got we gotta work on it, Alex. I'd love to go.
- 33:20Speaker 1: It's the only major sporting championship event that I have
- 33:23Speaker 1: never been to.
- 33:24Speaker 2: And where what where is it? By the way, I
- 33:26Speaker 2: don't even know where it is.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Let's see, Uh it's in uh?
- 33:31Speaker 2: Is it in Vegas?
- 33:32Speaker 1: I think it's in Vegas next year? And I think
- 33:35Speaker 1: it's in uh Los Angeles the year after that, and
- 33:39Speaker 1: I think it's in Atlanta a year after that.
- 33:43Speaker 2: They should put in Philly for the two hundred fifty
- 33:45Speaker 2: Birthday of America. They should have done that next year.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Okay, that's well, if Philly had a if Philly had
- 33:50Speaker 1: a dome stadium, they might.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Have Yeah, yeah, yeah, well. I was also I was
- 33:55Speaker 2: really happy that it was secure in New Orleans because
- 33:57Speaker 2: they've had a rough month, you know, obviously the this
- 34:00Speaker 2: and there was a lot of security concerns. But thank god,
- 34:03Speaker 2: nothing happened. All right, LOUI, I want to look forward
- 34:05Speaker 2: for a minute, because obviously we're not gonna stop turnlefs
- 34:07Speaker 2: take out of the Super Bowl. So what are you
- 34:10Speaker 2: looking for in the next couple of months. It's March Madness.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Now Baseball's here pictures and catchers reporting. By the way,
- 34:17Speaker 2: I know about you this part of February into March,
- 34:21Speaker 2: and then March with all the baseball and then March Madness.
- 34:24Speaker 2: It's a fun month. And the Rangers still in that
- 34:27Speaker 2: playoff hunt. It's gonna be an interesting couple of months here.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Oh, I think it is. And I'm actually looking forward
- 34:34Speaker 1: to even though I don't think it was necessary, but
- 34:36Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to the Four Nations I'll be watching.
- 34:39Speaker 1: I'll watch all those games.
- 34:42Speaker 2: And I was gonna take Gabby up to Boston by
- 34:44Speaker 2: the way side. No, I was gonna take her up there,
- 34:46Speaker 2: but it's gonna be snow he so I said, Nope,
- 34:48Speaker 2: not happening. It isn't too much snow for that.
- 34:50Speaker 1: But hopefully a lot of people have fun the Yeah, Now,
- 34:52Speaker 1: traveling may not be easy in the snow, but I'm
- 34:56Speaker 1: looking forward. I'm gonna watch the games, obviously. I'm looking
- 34:59Speaker 1: forward to the end of the hot season and the
- 35:02Speaker 1: Stanley Cup playoffs. Hopefully the NBA playoffs will bet in
- 35:07Speaker 1: the NBA regular season. And I'm looking.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Forward to Dona's debut last night. Have you watched in
- 35:13Speaker 2: the video he looks a little lost on the Lakers,
- 35:15Speaker 2: like he almost still looks a bit shocked him. Are
- 35:18Speaker 2: you reading into that at all or not really?
- 35:20Speaker 1: Well, again, that's his first game. I don't read into
- 35:22Speaker 1: that at all. I mean he got you know, ten
- 35:25Speaker 1: days ago, he thought he was gonna be a Maverick
- 35:27Speaker 1: for life. And now you know, remember we were still
- 35:31Speaker 1: dealing with human beings, not robots.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I know, it's it's very upside down. So we'll have
- 35:36Speaker 2: to see. And then one last thing, someone who will
- 35:41Speaker 2: never be in the Hall of Fame because it was
- 35:42Speaker 2: SARAHI do you although he just had incredible numbers. A
- 35:45Speaker 2: Rod is a majority owner of the Timberwolves, and I
- 35:50Speaker 2: gotta ask you this. You kept asking yourself why did
- 35:53Speaker 2: the Wolves trade Carl Andthony Towns? And I'm like, well,
- 35:57Speaker 2: maybe they had an apathetic owner. After all, I don't know,
- 36:00Speaker 2: the guys owned him for about thirty years. It just
- 36:04Speaker 2: maybe they need that fresh fresh blood now with him
- 36:07Speaker 2: becoming owner a Ron.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I would say so. And he also has ownership of
- 36:13Speaker 1: the Links, the WNBA team now, and.
- 36:18Speaker 2: They were down like eighteen to one at one point yesterday. Okay,
- 36:21Speaker 2: it's not fun. And I don't know why they thought
- 36:25Speaker 2: getting Randall and maybe it was a money thing to
- 36:28Speaker 2: save the money from Towns. I don't know, but it's
- 36:31Speaker 2: just it's not worked out for the Minnesota.
- 36:34Speaker 1: No, it really hasn't. And I still don't understand it.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I mean because Karl Anthony Towns was under contract for
- 36:42Speaker 1: two more years with the t Wolves and here's a
- 36:46Speaker 1: team that was right there. So I don't know. But
- 36:52Speaker 1: the NBA, like I said to you, it's been a
- 36:54Speaker 1: very NBA strange.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Absolutely all right, littell any other thoughts that you wanted
- 37:03Speaker 2: to cover before today? I mean, we should have been
- 37:06Speaker 2: doing an hour long of Super Bowl, but there was
- 37:08Speaker 2: nothing to talk about. So what else is there right now? Well?
- 37:11Speaker 1: One last thing? I know there was some controversy that, uh,
- 37:15Speaker 1: you know, Lamar Jackson was First Team All Pro and
- 37:18Speaker 1: Josh Allen won the MVP. As we've talked about on
- 37:23Speaker 1: this show. Uh, there was a lot of MVP candidates
- 37:28Speaker 1: who will be deserving if Joe Burrow had won the MVP,
- 37:32Speaker 1: just because even though they were only nine and eight,
- 37:35Speaker 1: the only reason they were nine and eight was because
- 37:36Speaker 1: of Joe Burrow. I couldn't scream if Jackson wanted, you
- 37:41Speaker 1: couldn't scream if you gave it to Barkley, you couldn't scream.
- 37:45Speaker 1: If you gave it to Jayden Daniels, who won Offensive
- 37:48Speaker 1: Rookie of the Year, if he won MVP, you couldn't scream.
- 37:51Speaker 1: So there was This was a tough year for the voters.
- 37:54Speaker 1: There was a lot of you know, a lot of
- 37:58Speaker 1: worthy candidates. Even Homes was the worthy candidate because let's
- 38:02Speaker 1: face it, this team, this Chief team was not a
- 38:05Speaker 1: great offensive team in any way, shape or form, and
- 38:08Speaker 1: he always came through with those plays to help them
- 38:11Speaker 1: win those seventeen straight.
- 38:13Speaker 2: In the last two minutes type of thing.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Right, So he was definitely an MVP candidate. So that's
- 38:20Speaker 1: the only thing I know. People are like scratching heads
- 38:22Speaker 1: on it, very very tough y of MVP Alan. I
- 38:27Speaker 1: have no problem that he wanted I mean, he was fantastic.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I think he also won because he made the best
- 38:32Speaker 2: of what he with what he had.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I mean, and I agree, I agree with that he
- 38:40Speaker 1: put him on his back.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, so there you go. And we can say
- 38:44Speaker 2: that for Lindor he should have been MVP. But what
- 38:46Speaker 2: do we know, right, louis all right, well, this year,
- 38:49Speaker 2: this year, this year, he might one last thing, one
- 38:53Speaker 2: last thing, because I want to get this on video.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I never thought i'd say Snoop Dogg had a more
- 38:59Speaker 2: explosive mum drry regarding the NFL than the Super Bowl.
- 39:02Speaker 2: He was more explosive than the Super Bowl. Was I
- 39:04Speaker 2: never thought i'd say that, But.
- 39:05Speaker 1: There, well, I can't. I can't deny that. That's for sure.
- 39:09Speaker 1: He was.
- 39:09Speaker 2: He was funny. He was very Uh, I kind of
- 39:13Speaker 2: like the Chiefs riffing because it just makes there are
- 39:16Speaker 2: obvious things that make you feel like the reps are
- 39:19Speaker 2: in the back pocket sometimes, you know. But anyway, Louis,
- 39:22Speaker 2: we will talk to you soon and uh, here we
- 39:25Speaker 2: go spring training. I'm excited. I know the Budd's gonna
- 39:29Speaker 2: be all over next week when Monstro gets down to
- 39:32Speaker 2: is he gonna go in like a horse, you know,
- 39:34Speaker 2: on a horse like Cesspenist there.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I don't think he's gonna be on the horse.
- 39:39Speaker 1: By the way, did you hit that wants to come back?
- 39:42Speaker 1: He wants to He wants to come back. He's thirty
- 39:44Speaker 1: nine years old, he hasn't played in four years. He
- 39:46Speaker 1: wants to launch a comeback.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Well, we were at Pinstroy Pride a lot of those
- 39:49Speaker 2: guys are still in shape, so it looks like, I mean,
- 39:53Speaker 2: some of these guys look like they could still play
- 39:54Speaker 2: and they've been out of the game for ten years already.
- 39:57Speaker 1: So it's amazing that these athletes are amazing. That's just
- 40:00Speaker 1: that's sir.
- 40:00Speaker 2: And while we're on it, kudos to Wade Boggs, Hall
- 40:03Speaker 2: of Bamer. He did beat cancer. How cool of a
- 40:06Speaker 2: story is that.
- 40:07Speaker 1: That's that's a that's a good story. Those are the
- 40:09Speaker 1: stories we love to hear.
- 40:11Speaker 2: So kudos Sam. And he was at Pinchrock Pride and
- 40:13Speaker 2: I love when they give their time for all of this,
- 40:15Speaker 2: you know, it's it's nice to see them in the
- 40:17Speaker 2: community like that. Anyway, do you think that when Mahomes losing,
- 40:21Speaker 2: the obsession the media seemingly how with him is over
- 40:25Speaker 2: or will they still be obsessing with him?
- 40:29Speaker 1: No, I think that obviously still the best player in
- 40:32Speaker 1: the league. I don't know if they'll go without a
- 40:35Speaker 1: three peat that was the big thing to obsess over that.
- 40:41Speaker 1: I guess this puts a little bit of the talk
- 40:44Speaker 1: about him being the grace of all time on the
- 40:45Speaker 1: back burner. To me, Brady's the greatest football player, not
- 40:50Speaker 1: only quarterback since I've been watching football. Mahomes still has
- 40:54Speaker 1: a shot. The Chief dynasty is not going away. They're
- 40:57Speaker 1: still in the dynasty years. But the media will probably
- 41:04Speaker 1: because the Eagles are now the champions, their eyes will
- 41:07Speaker 1: probably be more on the Philadelphia team. Hurts Barkley, Syrianne
- 41:15Speaker 1: AJ Brown, who you know always is fighting on the
- 41:18Speaker 1: sidelines with put his coach or with somebody.
- 41:22Speaker 2: So well, maybe we'll do a pregame show outside that
- 41:26Speaker 2: Giants Eagles matchup in MetLife. I mean, that would be
- 41:30Speaker 2: a pretty cool thing to do, like the pregame show
- 41:32Speaker 2: right outside of it. That's gonna be electric. Let let's
- 41:36Speaker 2: set it up, PLU.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Thanks as always, Alex, thank you. I appreciate it.
