- 0:00Speaker 1: Um, Texas gave them the opportunities. Let's spend a couple
- 0:06Speaker 1: of minutes there.
- 0:07Speaker 2: They took it. I mean, okay. Credit where credit's due.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Cause I have defended Texas in the standpoint of Texas
- 0:16Speaker 2: deserved to find a way to win against Ohio state.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Cause Ohio state gave them the opportunities. You gave Oklahoma
- 0:23Speaker 2: the opportunities and I'll tell you the main one, by
- 0:25Speaker 2: the way, we are presented by our friends over at prospects. Um, Texas,
- 0:31Speaker 2: The one drive that I think was the most inexcusable
- 0:34Speaker 2: once again falls on the shoulders of the reason why
- 0:36Speaker 2: you are potentially a college football playoff threat.
- 0:38Speaker 3: The last one? No, your defense.
- 0:41Speaker 2: No, your defense.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 0:42Speaker 2: People don't realize. Think about this for a second. The
- 0:47Speaker 2: penalties are beyond embarrassing. The penalties at the worst time
- 0:50Speaker 2: possible are absolutely a farce that needs to be corrected,
- 0:54Speaker 2: and I don't know how it's not. Colin Simmons in
- 0:56Speaker 2: the postgame said... Texas has beaten the number one team
- 1:01Speaker 2: twice this season. Ohio State and ourselves. And they kind
- 1:04Speaker 2: of did. They kind of did. Because let me explain.
- 1:09Speaker 2: There's two penalties that you look at on the drive
- 1:11Speaker 2: where Oklahoma is able to tie the game back up.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Lloyd Avant gets a one-yard touchdown. Isaiah Satanga throws an interception.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Isaiah Satanga throws into coverage. Misses Rocky Beers entirely. But
- 1:24Speaker 2: it's a roughing the passer call. So it's a 15-yard penalty.
- 1:28Speaker 2: First down. Third down. John Mateer overshoots Isaiah's tanga. Back
- 1:33Speaker 2: in the end zone. You have a defensive back holding
- 1:36Speaker 2: the arm of Isaiah.
- 1:39Speaker 3: First down.
- 1:39Speaker 2: One yard line. Reset of downs. Tate Sandell makes that kick.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's three points. Now it's four extra, and it's a
- 1:46Speaker 2: tie game. And momentum shifted in favor of Oklahoma at
- 1:50Speaker 2: that point.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I thought so.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Offensively? I'm going to say some things that just need
- 1:57Speaker 2: to get off my chest because I'm very frustrated with this.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Not as a Texas fan. I'm not a Texas fan whatsoever.
- 2:03Speaker 2: But we have got to stop. As a public society,
- 2:07Speaker 2: we have got to stop finding excuses for Arch Manning.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Because Arch Manning won and lost that game for Texas.
- 2:16Speaker 2: It's mind-boggling.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Okay, so the first touchdown, not to interrupt you, but
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm frustrated too. I'll get right back to this clip
- 2:24Speaker 1: of the power to on college football addiction, but first
- 2:28Speaker 1: some love to price picks all new users there get
- 2:30Speaker 1: $ 150 instantly when they win their first $ 5 lineup using
- 2:33Speaker 1: code H M a. Appreciate price picks for their support.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Give me the more on Derek Henry's anytime touchdowns at 0.5.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Give me the less on Deshaun Watson and give me
- 2:44Speaker 1: the more on Kirk cousins. As far as a passing
- 2:46Speaker 1: total of two 32.5, Cole and I picked all of
- 2:50Speaker 1: the picks that you see on the screen. And we
- 2:51Speaker 1: threw in a James Winston pick as well. So if
- 2:53Speaker 1: you want to see that, you can go over to
- 2:55Speaker 1: the live show on college football addiction that we just
- 2:57Speaker 1: finished up this morning. And you can check that out.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Appreciate price picks for their support. The first touchdown was phenomenal.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Work of art. All three touchdowns.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You look at that throw and you're like, dude, this
- 3:11Speaker 1: guy could win the Heisman. This guy could be the
- 3:12Speaker 1: first pick. He has all the tools. And then you
- 3:15Speaker 1: look at some of the things he does later and
- 3:17Speaker 1: you're just like, dude, you gave them this game.
- 3:20Speaker 3: And it is just the most Jekyll and Hyde experience. Sorry.
- 3:23Speaker 3: So go ahead. I shouldn't have interrupted.
- 3:26Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 3:26Speaker 3: You're fine.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But like he had a big time throw to Cam
- 3:28Speaker 2: Coleman for like a gain of 40 on one of
- 3:30Speaker 2: the touchdown drives. I mean, it wasn't just that one.
- 3:34Speaker 2: The Ryan Wingo touchdown.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Phenomenal play.
- 3:37Speaker 2: The Jermaine Bishop play, really impressive throw. And it's like,
- 3:42Speaker 2: here we go once again, as we saw two weeks
- 3:44Speaker 2: ago in Neyland. The impressive throws are there. When it clicks,
- 3:48Speaker 2: it's perfect. I mean, this is a guy that had,
- 3:51Speaker 2: just a reminder, TJ, he had three passing touchdowns. He
- 3:55Speaker 2: finished with 260 passing yards. He was phenomenal at times
- 4:00Speaker 2: in this game. And the one dumb thing that you're
- 4:03Speaker 2: not allowed to do on the last drive is get
- 4:06Speaker 2: a turnover.
- 4:08Speaker 3: And give them perfect field position.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It's the one thing that they say, don't do. The
- 4:12Speaker 2: other interception, the one thing you can't do playing with
- 4:15Speaker 2: short field position is give John Mateer less yards to
- 4:19Speaker 2: work with. You throw it into coverage, right to Peyton Bowen.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I have no idea where you're looking. But even that interception,
- 4:25Speaker 2: as bad as it was, that doesn't hold a candle anymore.
- 4:29Speaker 2: To the time after time after time after time. Oh,
- 4:34Speaker 2: survey the field. Survey the field. Survey the field. Oh,
- 4:38Speaker 2: here comes pressure. Oh, here's the sack. I mean, how
- 4:41Speaker 2: many times can you just get rid of the football,
- 4:43Speaker 2: hit reset, and get back to the line and make
- 4:46Speaker 2: it work? I mean, it's just remedial stuff. And this
- 4:49Speaker 2: isn't a first year starter. This isn't even a guy
- 4:51Speaker 2: who's in like his 10th or 11th. This is a
- 4:53Speaker 2: guy who's in his 20th start. When are you going
- 4:56Speaker 2: to wake on up and play a consistent game, Arch?
- 5:00Speaker 2: And also, the play calling is beyond embarrassing at times.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Bottom line, Texas fans, you should demand. And honestly, if
- 5:09Speaker 2: I'm Chris Del Conte, I would too. I wouldn't care.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You need to hire an offense coordinator at the end
- 5:16Speaker 2: of the season or you're not being the head coach
- 5:17Speaker 2: of Texas anymore. I'm done with this shit. And it
- 5:20Speaker 2: should be that way. You can't give me those explosive
- 5:24Speaker 2: highlight plays. The touchdown. Incredible touchdown to Jermaine Bishop. You
- 5:30Speaker 2: can't give me that play design and then run it
- 5:33Speaker 2: two times on first and second down for no yards.
- 5:36Speaker 2: You can't do this. It's asinine, and more specifically, it's
- 5:40Speaker 2: got to be guttural, just nonsense for Texas fans at
- 5:44Speaker 2: this point. Okay.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Listen, I don't mean to pile on, but Texas fans
- 5:50Speaker 1: got to feel the same way. And I, and I'll
- 5:52Speaker 1: clip this. I don't know how many Texas fans are
- 5:53Speaker 1: watching live. I know we're early this morning, but if
- 5:55Speaker 1: you're watching this on replay, I do want to know
- 5:56Speaker 1: Texas fans thoughts. Could they win a national championship? The
- 6:02Speaker 1: answer is yes. There's no doubt they are incredibly talented.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And when they're playing well, they can go win. And
- 6:08Speaker 1: I'm not trying to melt down over one loss, but I'm,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I'm putting on my burn.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Orange and I'm melting down over one loss.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Like the fans probably do at times they can absolutely
- 6:17Speaker 1: win a national championship. But my concern is that the
- 6:20Speaker 1: thing that's going to hold them back is freaking Arch Manning.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And maybe even starts play calling a little bit too.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Those are the two things that we look at this
- 6:29Speaker 1: super team and say, it's got all the talent in
- 6:32Speaker 1: the world and you run for 122 against a great
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oklahoma front and you make these highlight throws and you
- 6:40Speaker 1: hold the other offense to essentially nothing.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Shout out my eight-year-old for bringing me a diet. You, you,
- 6:47Speaker 3: you do all of the things.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And the things we talked about, we said the Oklahoma's
- 6:55Speaker 1: only chance in this thing was, and I know it's
- 6:57Speaker 1: a rivalry and I know it's weird and I know
- 6:59Speaker 1: they'll play worse competition, but Oklahoma was not a good
- 7:02Speaker 1: team coming into this thing, you know? And so I
- 7:05Speaker 1: just think like the thing that's holding them back is
- 7:07Speaker 1: the guy with the court is the guy that gets
- 7:09Speaker 1: the ball every play.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Or it's the guy calling the shots.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 1: It's the two most important pieces. It's the coach and
- 7:16Speaker 1: the quarterback. And again, they'll, I think they'll get right.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I think they'll start to pull things together, but are
- 7:22Speaker 1: you trusting them to do it for that for three
- 7:23Speaker 1: or four games in the playoff?
- 7:25Speaker 3: Cause they're not, I doubt they go to the sec championship.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Now I think it's probably Georgia Bama, although I guess
- 7:31Speaker 1: they both have one, one sec loss. So Texas could
- 7:33Speaker 1: do it. They need to go unscathed the rest of
- 7:36Speaker 1: the way. And they certainly could. I think there'll be
- 7:40Speaker 1: Florida at home. Ole miss is at home. Mississippi state's
- 7:43Speaker 1: at home, Missouri LSU. And I think they certainly beat
- 7:46Speaker 1: Arkansas and A & M, but with games like this,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I mean, you're going to play better offenses and their
- 7:51Speaker 1: defense is kind of what shines. I don't know if
- 7:53Speaker 1: you play a better defense all year at LSU will
- 7:55Speaker 1: be tough at night in Baton Rouge, but.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm frustrated with arch.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Yeah. But at the same time, okay. You said better defenses.
- 8:04Speaker 2: You also are going to be going up against talented offenses, right?
- 8:08Speaker 2: I mean, let's not sit here and act like Mississippi
- 8:10Speaker 2: State is still not a good offense when they're at
- 8:12Speaker 2: their peak. Let's not sit here and act like Trinidad
- 8:14Speaker 2: Chambers in the fourth quarter can't find a way to
- 8:16Speaker 2: beat you. Let's not act like the LSU's offense is
- 8:20Speaker 2: just this remedial, guttural, ugh. Like, it's alive and well.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Let's act like Missouri is not a good offense this
- 8:26Speaker 2: year with how they run the football. So it's like...
- 8:29Speaker 2: The problem is that your defense can do so much
- 8:32Speaker 2: of the heavy lifting, and it did at times yesterday,
- 8:34Speaker 2: and it did in Neyland, and it did in the
- 8:37Speaker 2: second half against Ohio State, and it's been the backbone
- 8:39Speaker 2: of this team. It can deliver on instance after instance,
- 8:43Speaker 2: but eventually the offense is going to have to respond.
- 8:46Speaker 2: And I can't live in a world and say that
- 8:49Speaker 2: you can win a national title when your offense plays
- 8:53Speaker 2: at this level consistently mediocre at best. I can't. I mean,
- 8:59Speaker 2: let's be real. You want me to be completely fair?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Texas can win a national title. They cannot win a
- 9:05Speaker 2: national title with how Arch Manning is playing football right now.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I got a better one for you. Texas can win
- 9:10Speaker 2: a national title. They cannot win a national title with
- 9:13Speaker 2: Steve Sarkeesian calling plays. I honestly think that right now
- 9:16Speaker 2: the thing that holds them back is the guy who
- 9:19Speaker 2: built this team in the first place.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Yes, they have the talent to do it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I don't have the faith in them to do it
- 9:26Speaker 1: for three or four straight games in the postseason against
- 9:29Speaker 1: other elite teams.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Because Oklahoma, though it was a rivalry, this was not
- 9:33Speaker 3: an elite team. And it wasn't... Blocked punt's a blocked punt.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I didn't rewatch that protection five times to see, but
- 9:44Speaker 1: you should know against an Oklahoma team kind of what's coming. I.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Very much think that
- 9:54Speaker 1: When you think about what the offense just had to
- 9:57Speaker 1: not turn it over, like, or not turn it over
- 10:00Speaker 1: twice to give them 10 points depressing for sure.
