- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today.
- 0:10May. 16th plans in his hands. Have you ever felt like you're
- 0:14carrying too much? Like everyone around you seems
- 0:17to have a plan, a direction, a sense of purpose, and you're
- 0:21just trying to keep your head above water?
- 0:24Or maybe you have goals and dreams, but there's this nagging
- 0:27anxiety underneath. What if it doesn't work out?
- 0:30What if I'm not enough? What if I'm wasting my time?
- 0:34Proverbs chapter 16 verse 3 cuts right through that anxiety with
- 0:39one of the most practical and powerful promises in all of
- 0:42Scripture. Commit your work to the Lord,
- 0:45and your plans will be established.
- 0:47Not maybe, not possibly will be established.
- 0:51There's a certainty there that's rooted not in your ability, but
- 0:54in God's faithfulness. The key is that little word,
- 0:57commit, not just mention your plans to God in passing, not
- 1:02just ask for a quick blessing and then go do things your own
- 1:05way. Actually entrust your work, your
- 1:08goals, your daily effort to Him. Roll it over to Him fully.
- 1:13And when you do that, He takes responsibility for the outcome.
- 1:17Paul adds A breathtaking layer to this in Second Corinthians
- 1:20chapter 4, verse 7. We have this treasure in jars of
- 1:24clay to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to
- 1:28us. You are a jar of clay, not an
- 1:32insult. A beautiful, honest description.
- 1:34Ordinary, fragile, in some ways imperfect, and yet carrying
- 1:39something extraordinary inside the life and light of God
- 1:42himself. The point of that image is that
- 1:45when something amazing happens through you, nobody gets
- 1:48confused about where the power came from.
- 1:51It clearly came from God. Your limitations don't
- 1:54disqualify you. They actually become the very
- 1:57thing that makes God's power visible.
- 2:00And then verse 16 says we do not lose heart.
- 2:04Even though our outer self is wasting away.
- 2:06Our inner self is being renewed day by day, day by day, not all
- 2:11at once, not in one dramatic transformation.
- 2:15Little by little, as you stay connected to God, something
- 2:18inside you is being strengthened and refreshed.
- 2:21Even on the hard days, even on the days that feel like nothing
- 2:25is happening, even when you feel like you're going backward.
- 2:29That's the rhythm God invites us into.
- 2:31Not a Sprint towards some perfect version of yourself, but
- 2:34a daily returning, a daily committing, a daily trusting
- 2:39that He is doing something in you that you cannot always see
- 2:42yet. So today, whatever is on your
- 2:45plate, the assignment you're stressed about, the friendship
- 2:48that feels complicated, the dream that feels far away, bring
- 2:51it to God, not as a formality, but as a genuine act of trust.
- 2:56Say, God, I'm giving this to you.
- 2:59I'll do my part faithfully, but I'm trusting you with the
- 3:01outcome. That's not passivity.
- 3:05That's one of the most courageous things you can do.
- 3:07And here's what makes that possible.
- 3:09Every small, ordinary, faithful step you take matters.
- 3:13God doesn't need you to be impressive, He needs you to be
- 3:17committed, and when you are, He takes what looks ordinary and
- 3:20does something extraordinary with it.
- 3:22Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for
- 3:26the promise that when I commit my plans to you, you establish
- 3:29them. Help me to truly hand over my
- 3:32goals, my worries, and my daily efforts, not just in words, but
- 3:36in real trust. On the days I feel weak or
- 3:40limited, remind me that Your power shows up best in my
- 3:43weakness. Renew me from the inside out,
- 3:46day by day so I can keep going with faith and purpose.
- 3:49I give today to you in Jesus name, Amen.

- 4:57Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 5:00Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 16 verse three
- 5:05World English Bible Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans
- 5:09shall succeed. 2nd Corinthians chapter 4 World English Bible
- 5:15Therefore, seeing we have this ministry even as we obtained
- 5:18mercy, we don't faint, but we have renounced the hidden things
- 5:22of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the
- 5:26word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth,
- 5:30commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of
- 5:33God. Even if our good news is veiled,
- 5:37it is veiled in those who are dying, in whom the God of this
- 5:40world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light
- 5:44of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God,
- 5:48should not dawn on them. For we don't preach ourselves,
- 5:52but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for
- 5:56Jesus sake, seeing it is God who said light will shine out of
- 6:00darkness, who is shown in our hearts to give the light of the
- 6:04knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
- 6:08But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding
- 6:11greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.
- 6:16We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed, perplexed yet
- 6:19not to despair, pursued yet not forsaken, struck down, yet not
- 6:23destroyed, always carrying in the body the putting to death of
- 6:28the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in
- 6:32our body. For we who live are always
- 6:35delivered to death for Jesus sake, that the life also of
- 6:38Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.
- 6:41So then death works in us, but life in you.
- 6:45But having the same spirit of faith according to that which is
- 6:48written. I believed and therefore I
- 6:50spoke. We also believe, and therefore
- 6:52we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will
- 6:57raise us also with Jesus and will present us with You.
- 7:01For all things are for your sakes, that the grace being
- 7:04multiplied through the many, may cause the Thanksgiving to abound
- 7:08to the glory of God. Therefore we don't faint.
- 7:12But though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is
- 7:15renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which
- 7:19is for the moment works for us more and more exceedingly an
- 7:22eternal weight of glory, while we don't look at the things
- 7:25which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
- 7:30For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things
- 7:33which are not seen are eternal. Thanks for joining us on Bible
