- 0:00I think now after the press conference, everybody knows
- 0:05what's going to happen for the next at least one year and the
- 0:09plan moving forward for 2026. Entering the end of the season,
- 0:16a lot of people wanted John Mozelock to step down
- 0:19completely. A lot of people wanted Alimar
- 0:22Mole to be fired. A lot of people wanted Turner
- 0:26Ward to be fired. The hitting coach, maybe even
- 0:29you wanted the assistant hitting coach, Brandon Allen to be
- 0:31fired. I don't know.
- 0:33Brandon Allen is expected to be retained.
- 0:36That was reported by Katie Wu and I'm sure other people.
- 0:40I read it. Katie Wu seems to be breaking a
- 0:42lot of stories for the Cardinals.
- 0:43She does a really good job. So basically now that we have, I
- 0:46don't want to say totality, Remember, Remember the path of
- 0:50totality for the eclipse, the path of totality.
- 0:54But I think it's, it's fair to say here, here's the Cardinals
- 0:58substantive changes that we know of moving forward for the next
- 1:02year. OK, we know Heimbloom is taking
- 1:05over in 2026. We know he's going to spend 2025
- 1:10redoing, revamping, whatever you want to call it, resetting the
- 1:13Cardinals player development system at the minor league
- 1:16level. We know Ollie's coming back.
- 1:19We know John Mosaic is not stepping down in 2025.
- 1:23He's going to oversee this this last year and allow Heim to do
- 1:27his thing at the minor league level before Heim takes over.
- 1:31And now we have the news that Turner Ward is not coming back.
- 1:36And everybody knows the offense was a huge problem.
- 1:39The biggest problem for the Cardinals, not just the offense,
- 1:42but but situationally runners in scoring position.
- 1:47The Cardinals were absolutely terrible.
- 1:50So by the way, get your questions in comments in.
- 1:55So the theme of this is, have the Cardinals changed enough for
- 2:02you guys? And look, clearly there's going
- 2:05to be player changes, right? That's not what I meant.
- 2:08So maybe this wasn't the best title we know.
- 2:10Look, probably there's options for Lance Lynn, Kyle Gibson, one
- 2:16or both won't be back. Who's going to be on the trading
- 2:20block? Katie Wu already reported that
- 2:22Paul Goldschmidt is is not likely to come back.
- 2:26So that's part of this change as well.
- 2:28Who knows what's going to happen with Nolan Arenado.
- 2:30I have to think Nolan Arenado does not want to be here.
- 2:34Who knows what's going to happen with Sonny Gray, Wilson,
- 2:37Contreras, some of these big contracts.
- 2:39If you have this mini reset, whatever you want to call it, do
- 2:42they want to stick around, right?
- 2:45You have guys with no trade clauses.
- 2:47Do they want to leave whatever it is?
- 2:49Are they open to that? That's all part of this.
- 2:51But I meant more organizationally because I think
- 2:55there's going to be a lot of player activity and that's going
- 2:57to be fun to talk about. But more so, have the Cardinals
- 3:01done enough? Have they changed enough to make
- 3:05you guys happy and OK with the blueprint for the future?
- 3:11For me, they have and I'll tell you why and, and it really
- 3:17sealed the deal for me with Turner Ward not coming back.
- 3:21In my perfect world, John Mosaic would have stepped aside and
- 3:26said, hey, Heimbloom's taking over in 2025.
- 3:30But also think about it like this.
- 3:31You're also giving Heimbloom the opportunity to take a whole
- 3:35year. And remember he had this past
- 3:37year too, to already start this process.
- 3:40Heimbloom has had two years, will have had two years to get
- 3:44his hands on this organization from the ground up and change it
- 3:48before he takes over. So let's say let's say 2025
- 3:53isn't great for the Cardinals. I actually think they'll be OK.
- 3:56I do. Heck, what if they could be like
- 3:59the the Royals and make the playoffs next year?
- 4:01I don't think that's out of the question.
- 4:03I still like the Cardinals young position players and and
- 4:06switching the offensive staff at the top with a new hitting coach
- 4:10I think will be big. Who do you think is going to get
- 4:12that job by the way? Ryan Ludwig, something like
- 4:13that. I'm a big Luddy fan.
- 4:15My first year, 2008 was the year Luddy went off.
- 4:18What do you have like 37 bombs? 114 RB is 117 RB is you guys
- 4:23will let me know on that. Something like that.
- 4:26I already forgot my my train of thought, but no.
- 4:30So what I'm saying is with Heimbloom taking over 2026, it
- 4:34kind of also gives gives him a pass on 2025.
- 4:40Like if he was in charge next year and the Cardinals aren't
- 4:42good, people are going to be like, oh, here's Heimbloom,
- 4:45they're bad again. I almost think in a way John
- 4:49Mosaic is doing Heimbloom a favor by staying for the last
- 4:53year. And here's the other part.
- 4:55I totally get it. If you guys want John Mosaic to
- 4:58step aside, I did too. But think about it like this.
- 5:01First of all, you cannot like John Mosaic.
- 5:04It's fine. I get it.
- 5:05I've said I thought his first decade was really good.
- 5:08Last five, seven years, not so great.
- 5:11Clearly, when you need an entire rebuild of your minor league
- 5:14organization, things aren't going well, right?
- 5:16I think that's fair to say. But he loves the Cardinals.
- 5:21He's been working with the Cardinals for the Cardinals for
- 5:2330 years. He loves this franchise, right?
- 5:26He wants this franchise to succeed, right?
- 5:30Heinbloom has already taken over on A5 year contract.
- 5:34I say all those things because think about it like this.
- 5:38Do you really think that that John Mosaic is not going to
- 5:43include, if not defer to Heimbloom on almost every big
- 5:49personnel decision over the next year?
- 5:52Think about this like, let's really think about it.
- 5:55John Mosaic, you might not like him, you might not like what
- 5:58he's done the last three, five years, whatever.
- 6:00I'm with you. But let's just say there's a
- 6:03trade. Let's say there's a big trade
- 6:06and you're going to trade one of these big contract guys.
- 6:09Let's just say for fun hypothetical, you're trading
- 6:11Nolan Coronado and you're going to the Dodgers and you're
- 6:14saying, OK, Dodgers say here's the guys we're we're OK with
- 6:19parting with. And let's say John Mosaic likes
- 6:23two or three guys and Heimbloom likes one of them, but he likes
- 6:27two other guys better. Do you really think, and this is
- 6:30a hypothetical, but I think there's going to be decisions
- 6:32like this, whether it's with the draft, whether it's with trades,
- 6:35whether it's with free agency, blah, blah blah.
- 6:39Do you really think if Hein Bloom's like AI, love this
- 6:44right-handed pitcher who's in AA and MO's like knowing this is
- 6:49MO's last year, knowing Hein Bloom's going to take over for
- 6:53the next 5 years, do you really think MO is going to pound his
- 6:56first on the table and be like, no, it's got to be my guy?
- 6:59Don't you think he's going to defer to Heim Bloom who's going
- 7:02to be running the baseball OPS for the next 5 years?
- 7:06That's what I'm saying. Don't you think that's how it's
- 7:08really going to go? And again, they'll probably
- 7:11agree on some things. Hey, we like these two guys.
- 7:14Hey, we need one more pitcher in this deal.
- 7:16Hey, I like this shortstop at single AI, like this lefty, you
- 7:22know, that's at AA. Hey, let's defer to Heim on
- 7:25this, right? John Mosaic in his last year.
- 7:28Heim Bloom is going to be there for at least five years.
- 7:31Hell, maybe he'll be here for 30 years like John Mosaic was.
- 7:36But I'm just saying, I don't think John Mosaic is truly going
- 7:40to be running the show when he's already named his successor and
- 7:44Heim Bloom's in place. I don't think there's going to
- 7:46be any big decision for the Cardinals starting the second
- 7:51the World Series ends and you start to have player activity
- 7:54there. I don't think there's going to
- 7:55be any decision that John Mosaic and the Cardinals make or
- 7:59Heimbloom is not heavily involved.
- 8:02If not kind of the final, the final boss, the final stamp on
- 8:10any deal. Don't you think that's fair to
- 8:11say? You guys agree or disagree with
- 8:14that? And then so, so tell me if you
- 8:16think I'm wrong To me now knowing you've set up Heimbloom
- 8:21in place, knowing Turner Ward's gone and John Mosaic is gone
- 8:28after 2025, which we essentially knew was going to happen.
- 8:32I know a lot of you wanted Oligon and a lot of you wanted
- 8:35John Mosaic to immediately resign.
- 8:38But is that enough change for you in terms of front office
- 8:41management? It is for me.
- 8:43Like it's not perfect, but I'm not going to complain at this
- 8:46point once they they parted ways with Turner Ward, I feel like
- 8:51that was enough substantive change.
- 8:53Remember also, I haven't even mentioned Michael Gersh moving
- 8:56from general manager to whatever that title is, VP of special
- 9:01projects, right? And also Gary Lorac, when he
- 9:06stepped aside about a month or 2-3 weeks ago, whatever it is,
- 9:10player development, where you knew there's going to be a new
- 9:13player development coordinator or supervisor or whatever the
- 9:16hell that title is. Look, Heim Bloom's going to hire
- 9:18somebody that he trusts, and that's the way it should be.
- 9:21So that's pretty much my spiel on that.
- 9:25I want to hear from you guys once again, this live stream
- 9:28brought to you by Triad Bank, Triad banking.com, Saint Louis
- 9:31Lawn Care, Saint Louis Equipment, which is
- 9:34stlmowerrepair.com and Corner Butcher in Fenton and Chophouse.
- 9:40So here we go. OK, how about this Brandon
- 9:47Smith? We want your boy from Cleveland.
- 9:48I was half kidding about that, but not really.
- 9:51My buddy with the Guardians, Dan Puente is an assistant hitting
- 9:54coach first year in the big leagues.
- 9:56So and he's my age, so he's about 43.
- 9:59So could he be a big league hitting coach next year?
- 10:03I mean, look, and the Guardians been really good.
- 10:05I hope he's a big league hitting coach soon.
- 10:08He's an assistant now. That was kind of half kidding,
- 10:10but I do think that he's actually qualified, clearly.
- 10:14Funny thing, I, I've, I've talked about this on the radio.
- 10:17I actually sent John Mosaic his resume about 15 years ago when
- 10:22he was, he had been scouting a little bit for the Astros.
- 10:26So maybe this was more like 12 years ago.
- 10:29And I was wondering because that's after Luna left.
- 10:32So I wonder if that kind of hurt him, the fact that he had
- 10:35scouted for the Astros and I'm sure there was some some bad
- 10:39blood with Luno and them leaving and then the secrets and the
- 10:42Chris Correa and the hacking and all that.
- 10:44But either way, it's all good. I'm very happy for my buddy
- 10:48who's the assistant hitting coach of the Cleveland
- 10:50Guardians. How about that game?
- 10:52Did you watch that? I didn't watch the game, but I
- 10:53saw the the three run bomb from is it Carrie Carpenter off Class
- 11:01A who's like unhittable. But that was a freaking.
- 11:04That was a weird pitch. It was a slider.
- 11:07It was one of those cement mixers.
- 11:08Apparently that just doesn't move because it freaking fell
- 11:12right into his bat path. That class AI don't know how
- 11:15anybody hits him. Honestly, he's ridiculous.
- 11:19OK, Sam, I am. Are they trading off Aronado, Do
- 11:23we think? Probably trading off Sonny Gray,
- 11:25right. Here's the deal.
- 11:26If I'm Aronado, I want out. And and here's where I will also
- 11:32I admit when I'm wrong, folks. OK, most of the time I've always
- 11:37been saying about Arenado, about how much money his contract is
- 11:42going forward. And I know he was making
- 11:4435,000,000 a year. So I've kind of in my brain
- 11:47thought, oh, who's going to want him for 35,000,000?
- 11:50His contract in these last couple years is much more
- 11:53manageable. And I did this I think last week
- 11:56in the live stream. I'm looking it up right now.
- 11:58So Arenado making 32,000,000 this coming year, 20252026
- 12:05making 27 million, 2027 making 15,000,000.
- 12:08And by the way, 10 million of those dollars the first two
- 12:11years paid by the Colorado Rockies.
- 12:14So think about this. That's 59.
- 12:17That's 69. That's 74,000,000 / 3 years and
- 12:2210 million paid by the Rockies. So that is, if my math is good,
- 12:26right, 59. So that's 74,000,000 -, 10
- 12:30that's $64 million. That would be the the payroll
- 12:34obligation for another team over the next three years.
- 12:38We're basically talking $21 million a year for Nolan
- 12:42Aronado. That is pretty Dang manageable,
- 12:46right? That's that's a big difference
- 12:48than the 35,000,000 a year that he was making.
- 12:50Again, he's making 32 next year. That's a lot, 27 that's a lot.
- 12:55But there's a big break in that final year for 15,000,000 bucks.
- 12:59So again, if you're looking at it from an AAV standpoint, minus
- 13:03the 10 million that the Rockies are going to pay, that's a
- 13:06little over $21 million a year, which is pretty fair for Nolan
- 13:11Arenado, even as he's aging. If it was 35,000,000, I'd say
- 13:15hell no. But that's a pretty fair deal
- 13:18for whichever team gets Nolan Arenado.
- 13:21So maybe you don't have to eat any or a lot of that salary and
- 13:24maybe you can get a a pretty good sized prospect Hall.
- 13:27Like I said, if I'm Arenado, I want out.
- 13:30If I'm Sonny Gray, I probably want out.
- 13:34What do you think, Sonny Gray? Also remember his deal is the
- 13:39opposite. Let's look it up.
- 13:40His deal is the opposite. He had a bunch of deferred
- 13:43money. So wasn't he only making about,
- 13:45was it 10 or 15 this year? I don't remember, so I'll look
- 13:49it up. I don't have the greatest
- 13:51memory, guys. It happens.
- 13:53So he had the deferred money this year.
- 13:55Let's find it. Sonny Gray, 2024 made 10.
- 14:01So we're talking he's making 25,000,000 next year, 35 million
- 14:07in 2026. And remember he has that $30
- 14:09million team option for 2027 with a $5,000,000 buyout.
- 14:17So we're talking, look, he's he's owed $65 million, that
- 14:25includes the buyout. He's owed $65 million over the
- 14:31next two years if you include that buyout.
- 14:35And it could be the $30 million in his third year, the team
- 14:38option, which I don't know, maybe he'll be that good, maybe
- 14:42it's worth it, I don't know. But Sonny Gray, a team's going
- 14:45to pick him up for two years and 65,000,000.
- 14:50So that's 32 1/2 AAV. That's a lot.
- 14:53It's kind of the going rate for a really good starter.
- 14:56It's a short deal. So I think teams would be OK
- 15:00with that. More so obviously like a five
- 15:02year deal for a pitcher. So maybe you have to eat a
- 15:04little bit of the salary. I'm not sure.
- 15:06But if I'm Arenado, I want, I want out.
- 15:10Sonny Gray I probably want out, right.
- 15:14Especially if you're saying 2025 is a reset.
- 15:17He's coming back. 2026 would be his final year, guaranteed by
- 15:21the Cardinals. Wilson Contreras.
- 15:23You think he wants out? I don't know.
- 15:25We shall see. Going to be going to be
- 15:27fascinating, folks. Here we go, Sam.
- 15:30I am glass half empty. I'm glad they're changing in the
- 15:33sense they acknowledge we are rebuilding and not acting like
- 15:36they're really going big. Let's see, Al Joseph, they need
- 15:41that DEI Hire Marmole out of the dugout.
- 15:44He had two seasons to prove his lack of value.
- 15:46So now Marmole is ADEI hire. That's the only reason he got
- 15:49the job. He's young.
- 15:52I'm not a huge Marmole fan, but I don't know about DEI hire.
- 15:57I mean, they had a lot of white dudes for a long time, right?
- 16:03You got Larussa, you got Metheny, you got Schilty, you
- 16:10got Marmole. Now he's not a white, but you
- 16:13know what I'm saying? It's all good.
- 16:15I'm not. I'm not for the DEI higher
- 16:16stuff. I don't agree with you there.
- 16:20Mt 2330. I'm good with it.
- 16:22As in 2026 Bloom will fully set up his front office and probably
- 16:26a whole new coaching staff. Most likely 2025 will just be
- 16:30the reset year and finish in the 500 range.
- 16:36Sam, I am. I think they will hover around
- 16:38500 for a few seasons with a few losing seasons, then 20-30.
- 16:44They make some more runs for the World Series, man, it's only
- 16:462024, so we have to wait until 2030.
- 16:51I can see them around 500. It would not surprise me if they
- 16:53made the playoffs next year. I know you might think that's
- 16:56crazy for me to say. I still like their position
- 16:59players, a new hitting coach, if they can get these guys going,
- 17:04right? I mean, Miles Michaelis, I'm not
- 17:07loving. Obviously, if Grey's around.
- 17:10Andre Palante, you're excited about him.
- 17:12Can one of these young pitchers take a step of Mcgreevy, you
- 17:16know, Graceffa, whatever the hell is going on with him, you
- 17:19know, Tink. Hence Quinn Matthews at the end
- 17:22of the season, probably not to start the season.
- 17:25But like I said, I don't think the Cardinals are going to be
- 17:27bad next year. I'm not going to predict right
- 17:29now. They make the playoffs.
- 17:30We got to see what happens. We got to see who leaves but I
- 17:33think the Cardinals will be around 500 ish next year.
- 17:38Let's see. Brandon Smith.
- 17:41I think MO can be a great mentor to Bloom.
- 17:43How many times did MO fleece other teams?
- 17:46That is a trade I want Bloom to have.
- 17:48Well MO fleece a lot of other teams early and he he did great.
- 17:53Obviously give him credit with the Arenado deal, give him
- 17:55credit with the Goldschmidt deal, but not a lot of great
- 17:58trades after that. Rosarena Ozuna, right?
- 18:06Let's be fair, Graham MO getting the hate for the coming Helsley
- 18:11trade is probably a good idea. Boomer fans would never forgive
- 18:14Bloom for trading Helsley. Give Bloom a clean slate.
- 18:17I agree with that, but it's like Ryan Helsley with one year to
- 18:20go. This isn't Mookie Betts, right?
- 18:23This isn't the Red Sox fans putting the Mookie Betts trade
- 18:27on Heimbloom, which, by the way, was not Heimbloom's fault.
- 18:30Helsley's great, but it's one year.
- 18:32It's a reliever. What is he, 3031?
- 18:34You have to pay him a lot. There's a lot of volatility for
- 18:38relievers. So I don't think anybody's going
- 18:41to be like, oh, like five years from now, oh, MO, you traded
- 18:45Ryan Helsley. Heimbloom, you traded Ryan
- 18:47Helsley. I don't think that's going to be
- 18:48the case. I think most Cardinal fans agree
- 18:52it's probably smart to trade him now.
- 18:53A lot of people want to trade him at the deadline.
- 18:55I did not. I still think it was the right
- 18:57move for the Cardinals to go for it.
- 18:59Right. You were too close to the
- 19:00playoffs after not making the playoffs in 2023 to just shut
- 19:05her down. The fans were already pissed.
- 19:07And by the way, look at what happened.
- 19:09The Cardinals played really well in September.
- 19:11I don't know what the hell happened in August right after
- 19:13the trade deadline. They had a nice little bump for
- 19:15a couple days after they picked up Fetty and Fam and then they
- 19:20they stunk. They stunk in August and that
- 19:23that knocked him out of the race.
- 19:24Then all of a sudden they're good again in September.
- 19:28So Sam, I am MO def will and should defer on big decisions.
- 19:33That's what I'm saying. That's why I'm not as I'm not as
- 19:36mad about MO not stepping down because Heimbloom is going to be
- 19:39in every big discussion, right? He's going to be in there.
- 19:43And I think, I think Hein Bloom will even have the final say to
- 19:46be honest with you. Like if he's, if he's going MO,
- 19:49we, we got to go this way. Do you really think MO in his
- 19:52final year is going to go against Hein Bloom knowing that
- 19:56Hein Bloom's going to be here for the next 5 years and MO's
- 19:58gone. MO's not a vindictive person
- 20:01like that. Again, MO MO wants the Cardinals
- 20:03to succeed and he wants to leave this, this organization better
- 20:09in his final year. OK.
- 20:13Sam I am, says Arnotto. I want out too if I'm him.
- 20:17That's what he said I believe. Ace.
- 20:20If MO and Ollie still here then they haven't done enough in my
- 20:23opinion. I get that and that's why I
- 20:24wanted to ask you guys that because I know a lot of you.
- 20:27Hell, what was the poll results like 94% wanted something, 9394%
- 20:33wanted MO going. Something like 8687%.
- 20:37I did a Twitter poll. It's not scientific but a huge
- 20:40number wanted Ollie gone like 8687%.
- 20:43So that's why I was wondering if you think it's enough with most
- 20:46stepping down after this year. Heimbloom coming in, Turner ward
- 20:51gone, Michael Gersh essentially demoted, Gary Larocque retiring.
- 20:56Is that enough substantive change front office wise for you
- 21:00guys? It is for me, but I understand
- 21:03if it isn't for a lot of you guys and gals.
- 21:06CJ is awesome. Shed payroll.
- 21:08Need to start with Kyle Gibson and Lance Lynn.
- 21:10Got to get younger on the pitching front.
- 21:11Maybe Matt's too. Yeah, but you can decline
- 21:14options on Lynn and Gibson. Matt's here's here's something
- 21:17that'll piss you guys off. Why wouldn't you want Matt's in
- 21:21a contract year, right? Steven Matt's in a contract year
- 21:25after being hurt fricking the entire three seasons.
- 21:29Doesn't this feel like his healthy year where he's good,
- 21:32right? It just does.
- 21:33Steven Matt's in a contract year.
- 21:35I'll take it. At least give him a shot, right?
- 21:37I'm not saying there should there should be expectations.
- 21:40I'm not saying he gets a spot in the rotation.
- 21:42I'm not saying anything. I'm saying I would, I would bet,
- 21:47I would bet on Steven Mats in a contract year after he's been
- 21:50hurt the whole freaking last three years.
- 21:52I mean, there's also just law of averages.
- 21:55The dude has to stay healthy for at least, you know, make 25
- 21:58starts eventually or maybe he's done.
- 22:01But I would I would bet on Steven Mats in a contract year
- 22:04to do something. See, it is awesome again.
- 22:08Just keep Gray Wilson are not on Halsey for now.
- 22:10Halsey is not as valuable. Lots of free agent closers.
- 22:14OK, how about this Sam I am Marmol isn't ADEI hire.
- 22:20He is a yes man hire. OK.
- 22:24Yeah. And cheap I assume too.
- 22:28Well, certainly was cheap at the beginning.
- 22:30I don't know what he's making now, but unproven, right?
- 22:34He's not this Terry Francona, big name, big salary manager
- 22:38that can go up into the front office and say, hey, I need
- 22:40this, right? He doesn't have the juice.
- 22:43We thought Schulte maybe even had the juice.
- 22:46After a while. He did not.
- 22:47He found out very quickly he did not.
- 22:52John Shank thoughts on Jordan Walker and Nolan Gorman for
- 22:552025? I was hoping they took a step in
- 22:592024. I got to think they got to be
- 23:02better. Walker clean slate.
- 23:05I think Walker's going to be better.
- 23:07You got to stop jacking around him up and down and all that.
- 23:11Nolan Gorman, I mean, is he just, is he what he is?
- 23:16Is he a 30 Homer? Guys going to hit $1.80.
- 23:19I don't know if next year, here's the deal.
- 23:21Here's another thing. If this is truly a reset, I
- 23:25don't want to say who cares, but who cares in the sense of let
- 23:28both those dudes get 500 ABS or let them get so many ABS that
- 23:33you figured out one way or the other, right?
- 23:36And I know they're young, so I'm not saying their career is going
- 23:38to be defined by next year. But if next year's a reset, then
- 23:43let Jordan Walker play every day, let Nolan Gorman play
- 23:47almost every day and see what they got and see if they can
- 23:51work through this. Because you also have to know
- 23:53what you have. If you're going to kind of start
- 23:55over in 2026 really trying to compete, you have to know what
- 23:59you have to a certain degree with Jordan Walker and and Nolan
- 24:03Gorman. Are you guys good at that, don't
- 24:05you think? Look, if you're already saying
- 24:07payrolls lower roll those dudes out there.
- 24:10See what you have. Their first round draft picks.
- 24:12They're super talented. You got to.
- 24:14You got to give them a shot. Let's see, Sam, I am Charlie.
- 24:19Your point on making the playoffs with the younger
- 24:21players is valid. They have been pulling the most
- 24:23of the weight the last couple years anyway.
- 24:24It could definitely happen if the magic is there.
- 24:26Yeah, I agree. It would not.
- 24:27It would not surprise me that much if the Cardinals won 85
- 24:30games and and just kind of found their way into the playoffs.
- 24:34But also could they win 80 games and not make the playoffs?
- 24:37Who knows? We have to see what the roster
- 24:39looks like as well. Sam, I am, he's prolific today.
- 24:44Am I wrong? And I appreciate that I'm not,
- 24:47I'm not even kidding you. Am I wrong to think whoever the
- 24:49manager is is irrelevant right now?
- 24:53Yes. No you are not wrong because to
- 24:58me if you don't like Ali after next year, clean slate new
- 25:02manager with Hein Bloom coming in 2026.
- 25:05I agree Ollie is not the biggest problem.
- 25:09And also if you're going to hire a new manager, what if Hein
- 25:11Bloom OK, you'd hire a guy that Hein Bloom wants, I get it.
- 25:15But let Ollie finish out 2025. You also can evaluate Ollie with
- 25:20a new hitting coach. Maybe things change.
- 25:23And then if you want to move on from Ollie, clean slate Hein
- 25:26Bloom. Let him choose his manager 2026.
- 25:29I agree on that, although I'm not a huge Ollie guy but I think
- 25:34to be determined. My whole thing with Ollie was I
- 25:36didn't think you should get the contract extension before the
- 25:38season. I thought that sent a bad
- 25:40message. Diana good body it starts.
- 25:44Is that your real name? Diana good body it starts with
- 25:47management from upper to lower. If that doesn't change,
- 25:50everything else is useless. Agreed.
- 25:53But there's been pretty big change right?
- 25:57I know you want Mosaic to step aside, but I think the shift
- 26:00behind Bloom is bigger than a lot of people think.
- 26:03I I think he's going to be the the number one decision maker on
- 26:07things that really matter. Also in 2025, let's see news
- 26:13with Nick. I want to see what these guys do
- 26:15with a new voice hitting wise, because obviously Ward wasn't
- 26:18working out. That's for sure.
- 26:20I agree. Then I agree with I agree.
- 26:22Look like let's see Walker, let's see Gorman.
- 26:26Let's see all these guys with some new voices and see if
- 26:30anything changes. And then look, you can change
- 26:32the hitting step. You can change the entire field
- 26:35staff, you can change the entire coaching staff in 2026, right?
- 26:40If things don't work out, everybody new manager, let him
- 26:43bring in all his own guys. So I agree with that.
- 26:47You, Mama. I would trade Helsley.
- 26:49I would too. I would keep Gray maybe, but I
- 26:53understand trading Gray. I'm kind of 5050 on that one.
- 26:57Also, if if Gray wants to leave, let him leave to me.
- 27:00If Walker, Gorman and Matthews emerge, you could win with Gray,
- 27:03Matthews, Fetty, Palante, Mcgreevy, I think, I think
- 27:07asking Matthews to be a big contributor for the whole year
- 27:12is asking a lot. I think he makes his appearance,
- 27:16his debut, cup of coffee, something at the end of the
- 27:18year, maybe bullpen, maybe start spot, start right.
- 27:22I don't think he's going to make the team out of out of spring.
- 27:25We shall see though. Let's see.
- 27:28Sink or swim. Patrick Longshanks.
- 27:31Yes. I think he's talking about
- 27:32Gorman and Walker. I agree, Graham.
- 27:35Excited to see what changes they make to hitting philosophy.
- 27:38So frustrating. Our sluggers stall at the big
- 27:40league level. It was heartbreaking to watch
- 27:41Gorman this year. I want him to succeed so bad.
- 27:44Me too. CJ is awesome.
- 27:47Bet yeah, Sonny Gray will be even better next year with a
- 27:51whole year to adjust the Bush and the division.
- 27:53Yeah, I get you. I get you Sam, I am.
- 27:56Dang, I forgot about giving Ollie the contract extension so
- 27:59early lol. Do we have ideas why that was in
- 28:02hindsight? Well, they didn't want the
- 28:05Cardinals to start off crappy, which they did.
- 28:07And then everybody calling for Ollie's job because people would
- 28:10have also. I mean look, Ollie's Ollie's to
- 28:14blame, but the offensive Staffs to blame.
- 28:16The players are to blame also. I mean, I'm not taking the
- 28:18blame. It's easier to fire coaches and
- 28:21front office people. But look, Goldie wasn't good.
- 28:24Arnotta wasn't good. I agree they've been jacking
- 28:27around Jordan Walker, but also it's on Jordan Walker to be
- 28:31good. It's on Nolan Gorman to be good.
- 28:33These are adults. These guys are what, 21234
- 28:36whatever it is like there. There's a lot of blame that
- 28:39needs to go to these players. Also, MTP.
- 28:42Hey, Charlie, what's up? Mark H CJ is awesome.
- 28:47Sonny was very good at Bush Stadium 2.
- 28:48Yes, 2025 may be a wash. I don't think it'll be that bad.
- 28:52I think it'll be OK, right? Let's see Patrick Longshanks.
- 28:57Haim has a most sized body shield to make the transmission.
- 29:02The not change the transmission, the transition.
- 29:05Yes. No, I agree.
- 29:06I, I, I, I think it makes strategic sense for MO to hang
- 29:09around anything good or bad. If it's good, you can say OK MO
- 29:12in his last year, he was OK. If it was bad, you can say, all
- 29:15right, it was MO in his last year.
- 29:17You don't blame Haim, the guy taking over for the next 5 years
- 29:20and you can let him just start with a nice clean slate.
- 29:23I agree MTP, Mark H, we get to see all our former players in
- 29:29the playoffs though. How about my guy Patrick Tui?
- 29:34Shouldn't the manager have some Barry on players playing up to
- 29:36their potential? Look how San Diego is playing
- 29:38better with Shield. Yeah, I agree.
- 29:40That's why I look. This is sink or swim for Ollie
- 29:42too. If they moved on from Ollie, I
- 29:45would get it. They're not going to.
- 29:47So this is Ollie's make or break year.
- 29:48Also, if if they don't see some improvement, I think Ollie's
- 29:52Ali's gone also. And not just I'm not saying wins
- 29:55and losses, right, the direction of some of these younger, some
- 29:58of these younger hitters also. Yes, Sam, I am plenty of blame
- 30:03to go around. Yeppers.
- 30:06And how about Keith Adams? I just don't see the benefit of
- 30:09having the guy who caused the reset to be there.
- 30:12I understand and I said that last week.
- 30:14I just think, by the way, like my shirt Jags our sponsor on the
- 30:19Kenny Wallace YouTube channel. By the way, huge news coming on
- 30:22the Kenny Wallace YouTube channel coming up later today.
- 30:26Huge news. I'm talking in about 2-3 hours.
- 30:29Make sure you subscribe Kenny Wallace YouTube channel.
- 30:32Everybody settle down if you guys like news and politics.
- 30:35And then of course, this channel for the Cardinals.
- 30:38Let's see, Sam, I am. I don't like the Padres
- 30:42necessarily, but I love Shield, so I hope they win for that
- 30:45reason. And I hate the Dodgers.
- 30:46Of course, of course, of course. You Mama.
- 30:50Do you think they make any free agent signings?
- 30:52I say if you're not going to bring any big names in 30 bombs
- 30:55or a top end starter, just don't play the guys we have.
- 30:59I agree. If you're cutting payroll, look,
- 31:02they're going to be shedding payroll.
- 31:05Look, right now, aren't you good with their position players for
- 31:08next year? I'm not saying you're going to
- 31:10go to the World Series with them and and maybe you have to change
- 31:13some guys out for 2026, but I'm OK with seeing what these
- 31:16position players do for 2025. I I still am high on a lot of
- 31:21these dudes. Let's see here.
- 31:26Good on you Kenny Wallace show yes, we had 111,000 subscribers
- 31:29on that Channel growing very well.
- 31:30And again, huge news coming up later today.
- 31:34Sam, I am I moved to Wichita recently.
- 31:36So I'm a bandwagon Royals fan for October.
- 31:39Yeah, how about that in terms of who you guys rooting for in the
- 31:43playoffs here? I've watched a little bit of
- 31:45baseball. I watched, I watched early the
- 31:50Zach Wheeler game for the Phillies when he pitched really
- 31:54well. Schwarber hit the lead off Homer
- 31:57and then what? The Mets came back in that game,
- 32:00right? And then what else have I
- 32:02watched? I haven't really watched a ton.
- 32:05I mean, I watched a lot of the highlights and what not on on X.
- 32:08Are you guys like that? I almost watch sports now on
- 32:11Twitter through the highlights, right?
- 32:14And that Carrie Carpenter Homer. I'm very into this when I say
- 32:19I'm very into it. I haven't even watched.
- 32:20But like in theory, because where I'm from Toledo, OH, about
- 32:242/3 Tigers fans plus the Tigers AAA team Toledo Muddens is there
- 32:29about 1/3 Indian slash guardians fan.
- 32:32So the fact that they're playing, I wish they weren't
- 32:34playing. It'd be cool if both of them had
- 32:36a chance to advance. I got to go for the Guardians.
- 32:40I'm going for the Guardians for my buddy.
- 32:43Although my dad's a Tigers fan, so I can't lose there.
- 32:46Whoever wins, I would love to see the Royals take take down
- 32:50the big bad Yankees. I want to see Sheltie take down
- 32:54the Dodgers and then man, Mets, Phillies.
- 32:58I'm a big fan of the Phillies, right?
- 33:01The Mets feel like they got a vibe going right now, but the
- 33:03last couple years, Speaking of vibes, I thought the Phillies
- 33:06were going to win the World Series last year.
- 33:08I just like the Phillies, man. I like their vibe.
- 33:11I like the feel of that team. I love the stadium.
- 33:15There always seems to be a ton of energy in that ballpark.
- 33:19You look at their lineup and I I can't go all the way down the
- 33:22line, but I was watching the first inning the other day who
- 33:27they got Also, they got the was it Marsh and is it stock?
- 33:31But but look at their first what?
- 33:33Their first four? And if I'm wrong on those names,
- 33:36I can't remember exactly, but their first 4 is what?
- 33:39Schwarber, Trey Turner, Bryce Harper, Castellanos.
- 33:46I mean, that's a freaking nasty lineup to start.
- 33:50And then you got Zach Wheeler was thrown in that game and he
- 33:55just looks unhittable at times. I mean, he was thrown 9798
- 34:00looked like late movement. So yeah, the Phillies.
- 34:05I'd love to see Schulte win a World Series.
- 34:07I feel like the Phillies deserve to win a World Series.
- 34:11I'm not a Yankees guy. I don't really think the Royals
- 34:14deserve to win the World Series. Like who deserves it?
- 34:17The Dodgers probably deserve it. It's been so freaking long.
- 34:21I know they won in in COVID, but so if I had to pick, if I had to
- 34:26pick, I'm going to pick the Guardians for my buddy because
- 34:29that would be awesome. Plus, I'd be going to the World
- 34:32Series for sure. I'd make my way to the World
- 34:35Series at least one game for him.
- 34:38National League, it's easy. It's for sure either Padres or
- 34:44Phillies that I want to win. I think I like the Phillies
- 34:48more. I like Schulte.
- 34:50I want to see Schulte win, but also like, I'm not a Manny
- 34:52Machado guy. What do you think of him and
- 34:57Jack Flaherty? John, what do you think of
- 35:00Flaherty after not having a good outing, telling him to sit the F
- 35:03down even though Flaherty didn't pitch well?
- 35:06What do you guys think of that? Either way, I like it.
- 35:09It's entertaining. OK, let's see.
- 35:13I'll read a couple more here. Bobby Lee Johnson.
- 35:17Hey Charlie, are the Cardinals in a three-year rebuild of 81
- 35:20and 81? No, maybe next year. 81 and 81.
- 35:23It wouldn't surprise me if they could be better in 2026.
- 35:28Let's see Sam, I am. Great job on Kenny Wallace
- 35:30channel. Getting so big 100K means you
- 35:32get the silver plaque, right? Yep, the silver play button.
- 35:37We got that a couple months ago, about 3 months ago.
- 35:39It's in Kenny's office. I think I can get one myself.
- 35:42I just never looked into it. I don't really care.
- 35:46I guess I would like to have the trophy actually, but it's not a
- 35:49huge deal. My goal is to get 100K on my
- 35:52own. Can we do it on this channel?
- 35:54Probably not. The Cardinals aren't a big
- 35:55enough niche. That news and politics channel,
- 35:58that's a big niche. We just have to keep it up. 100K
- 36:03would take a long time though. We're only at about four.
- 36:06Maybe 4500. I can't even remember.
- 36:09Maybe it's 3500, you Mama. I'm torn between cheering for
- 36:14the underdogs, Royals, Tigers, Guardians and wanting to see
- 36:16Otani. Otani versus Judge would be
- 36:18awesome too. No, I agree with that.
- 36:20Yeah, I would not be mad about Otani versus Judge.
- 36:22That would be a Titanic, mammoth matchup.
- 36:26Keith Adams I love watching the Midwest in the playoffs.
- 36:29Cleveland, KC, Detroit. Me too.
- 36:31I hear you. Bobby Lee Johnson Yanks, Dodgers
- 36:34in World Series. I think so, but yuck. 2 teams I
- 36:36hate that would be fun to watch though.
- 36:38I'm not really a fan of either, but it'd be fun to watch.
- 36:41I like the big name teams as well.
- 36:44Let's see, how much did Strauss pay for the logo and all the
- 36:47batting helmets? So what team is that?
- 36:51Is it for every team? Strauss.
- 36:52Strauss. What company is that?
- 36:54I don't even know. It's not Levi Strauss jeans,
- 36:57right? I saw because what?
- 36:59KC has QuikTrip, which I love. I'm a QuikTrip fan.
- 37:02I saw the Yankees. I'm talking about the patch.
- 37:05I like the QuikTrip patch for the Royals.
- 37:07That just feels right. Yankees have some insurance
- 37:10agency. Yeah, I didn't even notice that.
- 37:12Strauss, Strauss, whatever it is, is on every helmet.
- 37:15What company is that? What do they do?
- 37:18Let's see, What is the politics channel called again?
- 37:21It's called Everybody Settled down.
- 37:22That's myself and Eric Messersmith, who's a contributor
- 37:25on Fox News. Petco will have them at 78.
- 37:30Pakoda, you mean will have the Cardinals at 78 wins?
- 37:32Probably, yes. Every batting helmet has Strauss
- 37:35or Strauss. Yeah, I guess it's not doing a
- 37:38great job of advertising if I don't even know that.
- 37:41But I haven't been watching a ton and I don't even know what
- 37:43they do. I don't know what even what
- 37:45they, what they make or what the hell industry they're in.
- 37:49OK, I'll tell you what, let's call it guys.
- 37:53Thank you so much guys and gals for watching and please support
- 37:56our sponsors, Triad Bank. Triad banking.com.
- 37:59Best thing I ever did for my rental property business, taking
- 38:02all my commercial loans from a big National Bank that didn't
- 38:05care about me and had terrible customer service.
- 38:07Right on over to Triad Bank. I go to the Frontenac location.
- 38:10They also have a location in Creve Core.
- 38:15But I'm telling you, Triad banking.com, I work with my guy,
- 38:18Matthew Tobin. I'm going to call him up
- 38:20actually because we're selling a couple, We're selling a couple
- 38:23rental properties. We just had a closing, not a
- 38:25closing. We just had a contract accepted
- 38:27today. So I got to call him up to set
- 38:29up the closing in the loans and do all that type of deal here
- 38:33with Matthew Tobin from Triad Bank.
- 38:35I'm telling you, the customer service is top notch.
- 38:39Sam, I am. Did you give us another Buck 99?
- 38:43Look at that. Thank you Sam, I am and
- 38:45apparently Straw Strauss is a German clothing company.
- 38:49They make workwear. OK, that's cool Sam.
- 38:51I am couple more bucks for the 'cause I appreciate that
- 38:54greatly. So once again, thank you Sam.
- 38:56I am 2 times and also Triad Bank.
- 39:01Let me hide that. I'm trying to hide that Triad
- 39:03Bank, Triad banking.com, Saint Louis lawn care, they'll cut
- 39:07your lawn mulch, mosquito bug control.
- 39:10They just came last week aeration seeding.
- 39:14They have Saint Louis equipment. That's stlmowerrepair.com.
- 39:18That is you can buy a mower. They have the best brands they
- 39:21have, right? They have Skag.
- 39:23They can repair your mower. You can get a small engine
- 39:25machine. We're talking I got a Crest
- 39:27battery operated trimmer. I have a Husqvarna, the fuel mix
- 39:31blower. They're both awesome.
- 39:33Saint Louis equipment is stlmowerrepair.com.
- 39:35Saint Louis lawn care is stllawncare.com and then corner
- 39:38butcher and chophouse and Fen. I'm going to go there.
- 39:41What is today is today, Tuesday, I think I'm going to corner
- 39:44Butcher and Chophouse in a new building now in Fenton.
- 39:47I think I'm going Thursday as well and I think we're going to
- 39:51do a show myself, Cam Jansen, Jim Hayes, Matt Whitener, we're
- 39:55going to do a show together. We're taping it in Fenton
- 40:00Thursday and I think we're going to put it on this YouTube
- 40:03channel. I'm not sure about that exactly,
- 40:05but we'll put some of the clips on the the YouTube channel for
- 40:09sure. So here we go.
- 40:13Couple more Sam, I am. Remember Me when this channel
