Lucas: Today, we're going to the hair salon! It's a practical topic—getting a haircut in French. Luna: Oh, I love that! I've always wondered how to ask for a trim in French. Now, let's talk haircuts! Lucas: Right. So the first phrase you'll need: "Je voudrais une coupe." That means "I would like a haircut." Luna: Je voudrais une coupe. Je voudrais une coupe. Lucas: Perfect. Now if you want a shampoo, you say "Je voudrais un shampoing." Shampoing is the same as shampoo in English. Luna: Je voudrais un shampoing. Easy! Lucas: Now, when the stylist asks how you want it, you can say "Plus court, s'il vous plaît" — "Shorter, please." Luna: Plus court, s'il vous plaît. Plus court, s'il vous plaît. Lucas: Great. Then the stylist might show you a length and ask "Comme ça?" — "Like this?" Luna: Comme ça? Oh, I think I've heard that before. Lucas: You respond with "Oui, comme ça" — "Yes, like that." Luna: Oui, comme ça. Simple. Lucas: And finally, when you're happy, you say "C'est parfait" — "It's perfect." Luna: C'est parfait. Love that. Lucas: Let's put it all together in a quick scene. Imagine you walk in and say: "Bonjour, je voudrais une coupe et un shampoing." Luna: Bonjour, je voudrais une coupe et un shampoing. Lucas: The stylist asks: "Plus court?" and you say "Oui, plus court, s'il vous plaît." Luna: Oui, plus court, s'il vous plaît. Lucas: Then they show you the length: "Comme ça?" You nod and say "Oui, comme ça." And at the end, "C'est parfait! Merci!" Luna: Oui, comme ça. C'est parfait! Merci! I feel like I could actually do this. Lucas: You definitely could. Let's do one more repetition. Repeat after me: "Je voudrais une coupe." Luna: Je voudrais une coupe. Lucas: "Je voudrais un shampoing." Luna: Je voudrais un shampoing. Lucas: "Plus court, s'il vous plaît." Luna: Plus court, s'il vous plaît. Lucas: "Comme ça?" "Oui, comme ça." Luna: Comme ça? Oui, comme ça. Lucas: "C'est parfait." Luna: C'est parfait!
