- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. After ten yard line, second to day three
- 0:08Speaker 1: wide receivers now in motion as Puppas left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones were single setback Matt pump Fecks looking at
- 0:14Speaker 1: the goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppus and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. What's so, folks,
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is Michael Bumpus and you're listening to Hawk Talk
- 0:36Speaker 1: to Preview edition Week twelve. I'm here with my producer,
- 0:39Speaker 1: Nasa Choby. The Hawks go down to Pea and they're
- 0:43Speaker 1: gonna take on the Eagles. But before we get into it,
- 0:45Speaker 1: we're gonna check up on these injuries. Thanks Michael, before
- 0:48Speaker 1: we get an injury. Some big news coming out of
- 0:50Speaker 1: vMac this week was tight and Ed Dixon was added
- 0:52Speaker 1: to the fifty three man roster. Dix insman on IR
- 0:55Speaker 1: this whole season as he was recovering from knee surgery
- 0:57Speaker 1: in training camp, so that should definitely help the thin
- 1:00Speaker 1: tight end room. Let's make room and the roster though,
- 1:03Speaker 1: the seatt did have the way of nickel corner Jamar Taylor,
- 1:05Speaker 1: which opened things up for Ugle Maddy to get some
- 1:07Speaker 1: playing time at nickel. As far as other injuries go,
- 1:10Speaker 1: Luke Wilson's been battling a hamstring injury. It's gonna be
- 1:13Speaker 1: difficult for him to go on Sunday. Head coach Pete
- 1:15Speaker 1: Carroll spoke to that, as well as Tyler Lockett status
- 1:18Speaker 1: this week, Lucas is the one that we're gonna have
- 1:22Speaker 1: to watch. Um, of course we're watching Tyler. But Tyler's
- 1:25Speaker 1: really on the upswing now. Um, it's a couple of
- 1:28Speaker 1: tough days, you know, before we got out of California.
- 1:31Speaker 1: But he's feeling way better and expects to do some work.
- 1:34Speaker 1: He's gonna catch some balls after practice with Russ and
- 1:36Speaker 1: and uh start getting ready to go. I do. Yeah,
- 1:41Speaker 1: he thinks that too. All right, Michael, Let's get into
- 1:43Speaker 1: the Week twelve opponent. Like you said, the Seaffs are
- 1:45Speaker 1: going down to Philly to take on the Eagles, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: the Eagles dropped a nail biter tight game to the
- 1:50Speaker 1: Patriots last week sounded like this, and they break from
- 1:53Speaker 1: a huddle with Sunu, Watson and Edelman to the right.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Door set a tight split short side left white to
- 1:58Speaker 1: the rider. Brandy office ed him in motions into the
- 2:01Speaker 1: backfield and then motions out to the right and Brady
- 2:03Speaker 1: throws into much later, Ediman is looking at throw under
- 2:05Speaker 1: pressure to the end. Zoe for Dorset, I strike for
- 2:08Speaker 1: a Patriots touchdown. Razzle dazzle baby, you get see from
- 2:14Speaker 1: a pair perfect call by McDaniels. The execution of Brady
- 2:18Speaker 1: just to take a slight step up to make sure
- 2:21Speaker 1: Edelman off the return motion is wide enough and behind him.
- 2:26Speaker 1: He quickly gets in the ball and Edelman throws a
- 2:28Speaker 1: dirt the door set dragon left the right. Two razzle
- 2:33Speaker 1: dazzles so far in this play for fifteen yard golden
- 2:37Speaker 1: flash from the former Kent State quarterback, his first touchdown
- 2:41Speaker 1: pass since the two fourteen AFC Divisional Round playoff win
- 2:45Speaker 1: over Baltimore, and the Patriots will keep the offense on
- 2:47Speaker 1: the field to go for two. And by the way,
- 2:49Speaker 1: from Philip door set a career high fifth touchdown reception
- 2:51Speaker 1: this year. He was wide open in the middle of
- 2:53Speaker 1: the end zone. Three receivers left. Now it's getting the
- 2:56Speaker 1: motions right. White in the backfield for the pattles they
- 2:58Speaker 1: look for two. They've taken the lead in Philadelphia with
- 3:01Speaker 1: a fourth straight score. Pitt shark merchant by him. They
- 3:04Speaker 1: had off the white jump cut rights for two. All right,
- 3:08Speaker 1: the Patriots add to their leads. So they have taken
- 3:11Speaker 1: a seventeen ten advantage in a third quarter here in Philly.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I feel better that was the game winning score. Hit
- 3:17Speaker 1: him with a little razzle dazzle, Michael. Would you see
- 3:20Speaker 1: from that Eagle Patriots game last week? Razzle dazzle? I
- 3:23Speaker 1: definitely saw that. And I also saw two teams are
- 3:25Speaker 1: struggling to really move the football. For the first time
- 3:28Speaker 1: tom Brady's paid a play a full game. Someone else
- 3:31Speaker 1: on the team led them in touchdown passes. That sounds
- 3:34Speaker 1: like a fake stat right there. Now, Yeah, when is
- 3:37Speaker 1: Tom Brady? First of all, the fact that is Tom
- 3:38Speaker 1: Brady didn't throw a touchdown pass? And when is that?
- 3:40Speaker 1: I mean not since back to maybe two thousand and three,
- 3:43Speaker 1: early on in his career when he still had that
- 3:45Speaker 1: like game manager role. But yeah, that's wild. Yeah. I
- 3:47Speaker 1: also saw Carson Wentz was twenty forty two and fourteen yards,
- 3:50Speaker 1: only one touchdown, but was sacked five times. And I
- 3:54Speaker 1: think with the Hawks coming into town, this is the
- 3:56Speaker 1: type of game that we need. Our defensive line had
- 3:59Speaker 1: their best game of the season last week against the
- 4:02Speaker 1: forty nine ers a Monday night football. It's time to
- 4:04Speaker 1: get after this guy. But I just saw a grinder.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I didn't see a very impressive game offensively or defensively
- 4:10Speaker 1: for both teams, and I think the Eagles are prime
- 4:13Speaker 1: for another loss when the Hawks go down to PA
- 4:16Speaker 1: and get this thing done. It was bad for the
- 4:18Speaker 1: Eagles down the stretch. The Patriots limited Eagles to three
- 4:20Speaker 1: point eight six yards per play and help them scoreless
- 4:22Speaker 1: on the last ten possessions of the game, last time possession.
- 4:25Speaker 1: That has to be frustrating. And then you look at
- 4:27Speaker 1: that receiving core Anglars averaging eight point nine yards per
- 4:30Speaker 1: reception per reception that ranks ninety first out of ninety
- 4:34Speaker 1: seven receivers who are eligible for that, and you gotta
- 4:36Speaker 1: have twenty five targets to be eligible. That has to
- 4:39Speaker 1: be frustrating for that Philadelphia offense. Yeah, we'll get into
- 4:42Speaker 1: that in a little bit, but they're just not in
- 4:43Speaker 1: terms of the receiving corps there, it's not really getting
- 4:45Speaker 1: it done. Building off that Aguilar's averaging five point one
- 4:48Speaker 1: yards per target and that ranks ninety second in the league,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and that's that's just hard to think because it's the
- 4:53Speaker 1: team that recently want a Super Bowl. It feels like
- 4:55Speaker 1: yesterday they want a super Bowl. But since then they
- 4:58Speaker 1: they've been average. They've been fifteen in thirteen since winning
- 5:01Speaker 1: that Super Bowl for the last two years, and that
- 5:02Speaker 1: just goes to show man, it is hard to win
- 5:04Speaker 1: football games in this league. It is hard to win
- 5:07Speaker 1: football games. So when you are eight and two, you
- 5:09Speaker 1: are grateful. So now we're gonna move on to the
- 5:11Speaker 1: key matchups. The first matchup we have to look at
- 5:13Speaker 1: as Carson Wentz versus Seahawks front seven. Wentz has two thousand,
- 5:18Speaker 1: two hundred and seventy four yards, sixteen touchdowns and just
- 5:21Speaker 1: four interceptions. He's not playing lights out, but he's not
- 5:24Speaker 1: a bad quarterback at all. He's still a guy that
- 5:26Speaker 1: you have to respect and don't forget. If he has
- 5:29Speaker 1: some space, he can run the ball as well. Wentz
- 5:31Speaker 1: has been sacked twenty five times on the season. That's
- 5:34Speaker 1: bad for them. I think that's good for the Seattle Seahawks. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 1: so Wentz is gonna He's gonna take care of the football.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Just four interceptions is a great stat and like you mentioned,
- 5:41Speaker 1: he does have some wiggles, so he's not going to
- 5:43Speaker 1: be a statue back there. But they're susceptible giving up sacks.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And I think if the front seven builds off of
- 5:50Speaker 1: what they did against San Francisco, I mean, Clowney was
- 5:52Speaker 1: an absolute monster. Jay Reid came along poona four. You
- 5:55Speaker 1: got to see him, Chakeem Griffin, so people were there,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and I think this is a perfect timing for those
- 5:59Speaker 1: Hawks against that Carson, Wentz knows Eagles offense, perfect time,
- 6:02Speaker 1: stay aggressive with that front seven. The next matchup, we're
- 6:05Speaker 1: gonna look at Chris Carson versus Eagles front seven. The
- 6:08Speaker 1: Seahawks are facing another stout run defense. The Eagles are
- 6:11Speaker 1: fourth best against the run in the NFL, allowing only
- 6:15Speaker 1: eighty six yards. So last time we played a team
- 6:17Speaker 1: of dad caliber. The last two weeks, I believe the
- 6:19Speaker 1: Niners and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Hawks rush for
- 6:23Speaker 1: over one hundred plus yards both times, So I feel
- 6:25Speaker 1: like the Hawks are capable of playing a grinder football
- 6:28Speaker 1: and still moving the rock and getting over a hundred
- 6:31Speaker 1: yards per game. And you gotta love how they're playing
- 6:33Speaker 1: because we know we run run the ball. That's what
- 6:35Speaker 1: we do. We do run the ball. We can run
- 6:36Speaker 1: it against anybody, but we're keeping teams on their toes.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I feel like the last couple of weeks we've been
- 6:40Speaker 1: in a good rhythm offensively. When the Bucks game we started,
- 6:43Speaker 1: we set it up throwing early on. We set up
- 6:46Speaker 1: the run by passing and we can do both. So
- 6:47Speaker 1: I think I think Chris Carson is poised to have
- 6:49Speaker 1: another big day. Like mentioned, the last time the Seahalls
- 6:52Speaker 1: face the top tier rushing defense, it was the Tampa
- 6:54Speaker 1: Bay Buccaneers and they ran for one hundred and forty
- 6:56Speaker 1: five yards. The secret is out Hawks wouldn't run the
- 6:59Speaker 1: football and be stubborn doing it. And I don't blame
- 7:01Speaker 1: him because it has been working for him thus far.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Next matchup the Eagles receiving corps versus a Seahawks secondary
- 7:08Speaker 1: tight end. Zach Ertz is definitely the top receiver for
- 7:11Speaker 1: the Eagles. He has fifty five receptions six hundred twenty
- 7:14Speaker 1: one yards, but only two receiving touchdowns. Definitely, like you said,
- 7:17Speaker 1: their top target. A guy that's a good tie end,
- 7:19Speaker 1: has good hands, he'll beat you in the seam, he'll
- 7:21Speaker 1: get north south. But but the problem is he hasn't
- 7:23Speaker 1: been a red zone target this year and that's and
- 7:25Speaker 1: that's really kind of hurt the Eagles receiving core. I mean,
- 7:28Speaker 1: he's not a receiver, but he's their top target. And
- 7:30Speaker 1: then you go down the line. Jeffrey has thirty four receptions,
- 7:33Speaker 1: three hundred and fifty three yards and three touchdowns. Aguilar,
- 7:36Speaker 1: who we mentioned a little bit ago, thirty six receptions,
- 7:38Speaker 1: three hundred and twenty two yards and three touchdowns. They're
- 7:41Speaker 1: they're not world beaters in that receiving corps. It's just
- 7:44Speaker 1: not This isn't the production production that you would foresee
- 7:46Speaker 1: with Wentz being back there. So that lets you know
- 7:48Speaker 1: there's some protection problems going on, and you look at
- 7:51Speaker 1: the film. Maybe guys are sloring down a little bit
- 7:53Speaker 1: on the outside, and you lose to Sean Jackson for
- 7:54Speaker 1: the rest of ye with a rib injury. I believe
- 7:56Speaker 1: it was um that has to hurt your team a bit,
- 7:59Speaker 1: and there's some change is going on over there. The
- 8:01Speaker 1: next match of the Eagle starting rat tackle versus Clowney
- 8:05Speaker 1: ONSA Jefferson and Griffin. Lane Johnson starting tackle, probably the
- 8:09Speaker 1: best offensive lineman, then leave to leave the game versus
- 8:12Speaker 1: the Wings after being treated for concussion. It's always tough
- 8:16Speaker 1: to replace a guy of that caliber on your line, Oh,
- 8:19Speaker 1: especially at that position that is such an important position
- 8:22Speaker 1: at the right tackle spot. And head coach Doug Peterson
- 8:25Speaker 1: stepped to the podium kind of give us an update
- 8:27Speaker 1: about what we can expect from Lane Johnson this week.
- 8:29Speaker 1: He came out after that touchdown drive. I don't know
- 8:31Speaker 1: specifically what the play was, but it was after that
- 8:33Speaker 1: drive that he came to the sideline and we checked
- 8:37Speaker 1: him and had to put him in the protocol. Is
- 8:41Speaker 1: in the protocol? Well, it's still it's still early, so
- 8:44Speaker 1: it's it's I guess stage one of the five stage program. Yeah,
- 8:48Speaker 1: so stage one. I know it's kind of hard to
- 8:50Speaker 1: maybe comoctify it, but how much of the offensive struggles
- 8:53Speaker 1: after he went out were because he was out? I
- 8:55Speaker 1: mean it affected the run game a little bit. Um
- 8:59Speaker 1: from the standpoint of you know, him and Brandon working together,
- 9:01Speaker 1: you know, and getting those reps during the week. Um,
- 9:05Speaker 1: still got a lot of confidence. Obviously in Big V
- 9:06Speaker 1: he filled in there. Um, but that you know, it's
- 9:10Speaker 1: it's a loss. I mean you're talking about a you know,
- 9:13Speaker 1: a Pro Bowl caliber you know, right tackle, and he
- 9:17Speaker 1: and Brandon together do some great things and so, um,
- 9:20Speaker 1: it affects you a little bit. Um, you know, with
- 9:22Speaker 1: the running game, and he thought about getting Dillard reps
- 9:25Speaker 1: on that side, you know, going into the game. Obviously
- 9:28Speaker 1: he was you know, JP status during the week. Obviously
- 9:32Speaker 1: he was still working at left tackle. Um. But moving forward,
- 9:36Speaker 1: if if you know, again, depending on Lane's lane status
- 9:39Speaker 1: at the end of the week, UM, the plan would
- 9:42Speaker 1: be to to to work Dillard a little bit at
- 9:43Speaker 1: right tackle if he cannot go. Mike Coup Andre Diller
- 9:48Speaker 1: is a start. You know, here's an if I'm gonna
- 9:50Speaker 1: show any love to the Eagles, it'd be with that
- 9:53Speaker 1: guy the end of the day. We still want Clowney
- 9:55Speaker 1: to get after him. It's gonna be tough for that
- 9:57Speaker 1: guy to come in. He's all he's usually played on
- 9:59Speaker 1: the left side. Gonna asal Pay on the right side.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I'm not sure how difficult that is, but you would
- 10:04Speaker 1: have to think there's gonna be some type of adjustment
- 10:06Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, and regardless who they put out there,
- 10:09Speaker 1: it's gonna it's not gonna be their Pro Bowl cowboy
- 10:11Speaker 1: right tackle and Lane Johnson so coming off the game
- 10:15Speaker 1: that they just watch it. If I'm in Philadelphia and
- 10:17Speaker 1: I'm watching film and you just saw what Clowney just did,
- 10:19Speaker 1: You saw Reid's doing, He's all of them. She Keem
- 10:21Speaker 1: Griffin getting in there, it's gonna be it's gonna be wild.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I think I think Clowney. I mean, he had ten
- 10:27Speaker 1: QB pressures last week. He had he could had shoot,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you could have had five sacks last week. He was
- 10:33Speaker 1: completely disruptive. He probably should have forced at least four
- 10:36Speaker 1: or five different holding penalties that weren't called. He's an
- 10:39Speaker 1: absolute monster, and that is gonna be a rough task
- 10:42Speaker 1: for anyone, especially a young rookie, to step in there
- 10:45Speaker 1: and look across and you see Jadeveon Clowney, you see
- 10:47Speaker 1: jar Reid. Good luck. Time for the D line to
- 10:50Speaker 1: prove it. Let's go, baby, get or done. So now
- 10:51Speaker 1: we're gonna do something that most analysts do and we
- 10:53Speaker 1: probably shouldn't do. We do it anyway. We're gonna look
- 10:56Speaker 1: into the playoff picture as of now, there's a way
- 10:59Speaker 1: to really look playoff picture in the NFC. You got
- 11:02Speaker 1: the division leaders to forty nine ers at nine and one.
- 11:04Speaker 1: We know who they lost to the Packers at eight
- 11:06Speaker 1: and two, SAT. SAT eight and two, and then those
- 11:09Speaker 1: Cowboys sneaking in there at six and four. It that's
- 11:11Speaker 1: almost disrespectful, right. I don't like seeing that down there.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The wild cards right now are the Seattle Seahawks and
- 11:16Speaker 1: the Vikings. We were talking earlier man beginning of the weekend.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It looked like things were gonna change for the Hawks
- 11:22Speaker 1: a little bit, but didn't work out as far as wins.
- 11:24Speaker 1: My goodness. The Vikings were down twenty to zero. I
- 11:27Speaker 1: think in the last five or so years teams in
- 11:29Speaker 1: the NFL were zero in ninety nine been down twenty
- 11:32Speaker 1: and a half time. They obviously find a way to
- 11:33Speaker 1: come back and win. And the forty nine ers man.
- 11:36Speaker 1: The forty nine ers down sixteen nothing, and the Cardinals,
- 11:38Speaker 1: who played them tough the first time, looked like they're
- 11:40Speaker 1: gonna get after them, just couldn't quite finish down the stretch.
- 11:43Speaker 1: The Seahawks wanted a little help, they didn't get it.
- 11:45Speaker 1: But it's all good because the Seahawks still control there
- 11:48Speaker 1: on death seeing who they play. All they gotta do
- 11:49Speaker 1: is win out and beat the Niners in Ay all
- 11:51Speaker 1: as well. Still in a hunt. Are the Rams, the Panthers,
- 11:54Speaker 1: the Bears, and then you go below there the Lions
- 11:56Speaker 1: of Cardinals and Falcons. We'll see what they do, but
- 11:59Speaker 1: so are the Hawks. Are doing what they're supposed to do,
- 12:01Speaker 1: just keep winning ball games, and someone else at the
- 12:03Speaker 1: top I field is going to take an l eventually.
- 12:06Speaker 1: On their schedule, the Hawks still are going to Philly,
- 12:10Speaker 1: Vikings are coming here. They're going to LA to play
- 12:13Speaker 1: the Rams. They're going to Carolina to play the Panthers,
- 12:16Speaker 1: then Cardinals at Niners at home to wrap it up.
- 12:19Speaker 1: If there's any game that gives you some kind of
- 12:20Speaker 1: concern their nass, which one would it be? Oh, there's
- 12:23Speaker 1: a couple. I mean, I like that we're playing the
- 12:25Speaker 1: Vikings at home. They're a good football team, but the
- 12:27Speaker 1: factor that we're playing them at home. I know we've
- 12:28Speaker 1: lost two games earlier this year, but that's Tentry Links
- 12:31Speaker 1: is still a tough place to play. Really, the last two.
- 12:37Speaker 1: When you see the Cardinals at three seven and one,
- 12:39Speaker 1: you wouldn't think that but they're they've kind of figured
- 12:41Speaker 1: something that Colin Murray's playing while they're playing with confidence.
- 12:44Speaker 1: They've played a ton of close games they just had, man,
- 12:45Speaker 1: it will finish. And then obviously the forty nine Ers. Man, yep,
- 12:48Speaker 1: there's one easy team on the schedule, but those two
- 12:50Speaker 1: scare me the most down the stretch because those are
- 12:51Speaker 1: probably gonna be deciding factors for what this playoff picture
- 12:54Speaker 1: turns into. And Kyla Murray takes care of the football.
- 12:56Speaker 1: That's why I appreciate about that kid. The forty nine
- 12:58Speaker 1: has remaining schedule. They got the Packers, they go to Baltimore, them,
- 13:01Speaker 1: they go to New Orleans, Falcons and Rams go down
- 13:03Speaker 1: to Cali. Then they finish it up north against the Seahawks.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Their last five or six are tough in than hours.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, that is murderous. Row. You got the
- 13:13Speaker 1: Packers coming in who are hot, the ravens Lamar Jackson,
- 13:16Speaker 1: that man other than Russell Wilson, obviously, because I still
- 13:19Speaker 1: think Russell Wilson MNP. Lamar Jackson is doing some things
- 13:22Speaker 1: I feel like I've never seen before, obviously in likes
- 13:25Speaker 1: of Michael Vicken stuff. But he is phenomenal that dude
- 13:27Speaker 1: is balling, So that's gonna be a tough game at
- 13:29Speaker 1: the Ravens. Then you got the Saints, who are two breezes.
- 13:32Speaker 1: They're still rolling, they're eight and two. Then the Falcons.
- 13:34Speaker 1: The Falcons Seaman. I'm actually happy when the Seahawks played
- 13:39Speaker 1: him because at first everyone was saying, hey, like, how
- 13:41Speaker 1: did you not blow this team out? How'd you let
- 13:43Speaker 1: them come back? They went down to New Orleans and
- 13:46Speaker 1: put a whooping on them. They went to the Panthers
- 13:48Speaker 1: put a whooping on them there. So the Falcons are
- 13:50Speaker 1: gonna be a key factor down the stretch and look
- 13:52Speaker 1: at play a little spoiler and then they'll finish out
- 13:55Speaker 1: with the Rams and the Hawks. Let's go baby, all right?
- 13:58Speaker 1: So now what is the path to victory? One? Continue
- 14:01Speaker 1: the dominance on the road. The Hawks are perfect five
- 14:03Speaker 1: and oh on this season, which is super impressive. You
- 14:05Speaker 1: would think that would be flip five and oh at
- 14:07Speaker 1: home and maybe two losses on the road, but that's
- 14:09Speaker 1: not the case. Here, build off the defensive performance against
- 14:12Speaker 1: the forty nine ers. Show that last Monday wasn't a fluke.
- 14:15Speaker 1: This is who you are now. You put it on film.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You left the world see it now, it's build off
- 14:20Speaker 1: of it. Yeah, you can get at defensively, especially You've
- 14:23Speaker 1: shown that every All year everyone was talking about the
- 14:25Speaker 1: defensive line, pastris pastros, pass us well against arguably the
- 14:29Speaker 1: team that everyone else thought was the best team in
- 14:30Speaker 1: the NFL. You show that you could do it every
- 14:33Speaker 1: single down, and on top of that, your secondary is
- 14:35Speaker 1: playing better. So I think, show it you can do
- 14:37Speaker 1: You put it on film, you show you can do it.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Let's keep it up. Keep a rolling, must play physical
- 14:41Speaker 1: on the secondary. Quandre Diggs brought the physicality we've been
- 14:45Speaker 1: missing all year. I've been waiting for this, the way
- 14:48Speaker 1: he came downhill, even the tackles that he missed. He
- 14:50Speaker 1: missed a couple of tackles, but I mean he's coming
- 14:52Speaker 1: downhill and he's he has bad intentions. He's not coming
- 14:55Speaker 1: to hug you up. He's not coming this to make
- 14:57Speaker 1: the play. He wants you to feel him. And I
- 14:59Speaker 1: love the intensity this guy plays with. Yeah, he came
- 15:02Speaker 1: out like you said. It was like the first first
- 15:03Speaker 1: play he missed the tackle or first drive, and he
- 15:05Speaker 1: kind of took him a couple serious to get into it.
- 15:07Speaker 1: But once he did, I promise you every forty nine
- 15:10Speaker 1: Ers receiver was aware where Quandry Diggs was because he
- 15:12Speaker 1: put the lick on a couple of them. So, I
- 15:15Speaker 1: mean he and you just love it. I mean, Blair
- 15:16Speaker 1: brought some of that physicality, but I just love the
- 15:18Speaker 1: veteran leadership. I mean, he was a captain for the Lions.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Quandry Diggs can play. I love what he's bringing in
- 15:24Speaker 1: that secondary. And it seems like he's always in the
- 15:25Speaker 1: right position. You know, even that pick, if he wasn't
- 15:27Speaker 1: rallying to the football, not in the right position, he
- 15:29Speaker 1: doesn't get that ball. So that is fun to see.
- 15:31Speaker 1: We must run the football. The Eagles have a great
- 15:34Speaker 1: rushing defense. However, the Hawks have proven all season they
- 15:36Speaker 1: can run the ball against anybody. It doesn't matter. If
- 15:39Speaker 1: they have to switch it up and open up with
- 15:40Speaker 1: the pass versus get the run going, then so be it.
- 15:43Speaker 1: That's why this team is so versatile, because if you
- 15:46Speaker 1: need to run the ball, you can run the football.
- 15:47Speaker 1: If you got to open it up with the pass,
- 15:49Speaker 1: you open up with the pass. You gotta first year
- 15:51Speaker 1: dude in DK Metcalf whose extenial expectations hopefully Tyler Lockett
- 15:55Speaker 1: is healthy. You bring into Josh Gordon, a Hollister comes
- 15:57Speaker 1: out of nowhere. I think this is the perfect example
- 16:00Speaker 1: of a next man up team, Like someone goes down,
- 16:02Speaker 1: the next guys up. I just love the confidence's offense
- 16:06Speaker 1: is playing with right now. Yeah, and you mention it
- 16:07Speaker 1: doesn't matter who it is, that Malik Turner making a
- 16:09Speaker 1: huge play, Is that David Moore making big plays, that
- 16:11Speaker 1: Josh Gordon is in hollistrated. Anyone who's in the game
- 16:14Speaker 1: has the playmaking ability. And now they've had all these
- 16:17Speaker 1: opportunities throughout the year where they've shown they could do it.
- 16:19Speaker 1: So now when you get in these moments late in
- 16:21Speaker 1: the season, everyone believes, you know what I mean, everybody
- 16:23Speaker 1: believes they must take care of the football. The Hawks
- 16:26Speaker 1: have put the ball on the ground more than they
- 16:28Speaker 1: ever have under Pete Carroll, which it's disappointing, but it
- 16:34Speaker 1: shows us how resilent they are as well, because they're
- 16:36Speaker 1: still finding ways to win ball games. Just don't put
- 16:39Speaker 1: your defense in tough positions, don't shorten the field, make
- 16:43Speaker 1: that offense work. Ball security, job security. Absolutely. I mean,
- 16:47Speaker 1: if anyone knows anything in this program with Pete Carroll
- 16:50Speaker 1: is protect the football. It's always all about the ball.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It's always been about It's about creating turnovers and protecting it.
- 16:55Speaker 1: The Seahawks haven't done a great job of that this year,
- 16:57Speaker 1: and they're still eight and two. So once you start
- 17:00Speaker 1: to share up all those things at sky's the limit
- 17:02Speaker 1: for that offense. Now to get Josh Gordon going, he
- 17:05Speaker 1: makes some big plays last Monday night. Gotta get him involved,
- 17:08Speaker 1: man in the way it's the average person looks at
- 17:10Speaker 1: the players that he made and say, oh, it was
- 17:12Speaker 1: just a slant, But it was the way he caught
- 17:13Speaker 1: the slant. It was all hands, it was confidence. He
- 17:15Speaker 1: gets up, he points to the first down, he drops
- 17:18Speaker 1: the ball like he looks like a veteran and a
- 17:22Speaker 1: potential superstar, or maybe a former superstar. But you see
- 17:25Speaker 1: that there's something different in Josh Gordon than there is
- 17:27Speaker 1: in any of our receivers. And that's what makes our
- 17:29Speaker 1: receiving corps special. And got your locket, your guy, your
- 17:32Speaker 1: shifty guy who does everything. You got your monsters on
- 17:34Speaker 1: the outside. You got your twinter tight end and hollister
- 17:37Speaker 1: who kind of does everything. You almost have every type
- 17:40Speaker 1: of receiver on in this receiving corps right now, Well, yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 1: and you look at the two balls at Josh Gordon Cott,
- 17:45Speaker 1: they weren't just like random little you know, playing the
- 17:47Speaker 1: first cord. He caught big time third downs late in
- 17:51Speaker 1: the football game in his first game ever playing with
- 17:53Speaker 1: Russel Wilson. So I think the sky's the limit for
- 17:55Speaker 1: Josh Gordon. He can really help that receiving corps. Like
- 17:57Speaker 1: you said, he's just a hand scatcher. He snatches out
- 18:00Speaker 1: of there. He's big, he's physical, So I am really
- 18:02Speaker 1: excited to see what we can get out of him
- 18:03Speaker 1: the rest of the season. I'm excited as well. I'm
- 18:06Speaker 1: excited to see what these Hawks do when they travel
- 18:08Speaker 1: to p A and take on the Philadelphia Eagles. That's it.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Michael Bump is here with my producer Nasa Cholby. Thanks
- 18:18Speaker 1: for tuning in that as Hawk Talk the Preview edition,
- 18:21Speaker 1: Week twelve. We'll catch you next time.
