- 0:01This story is about how people tend to act like those around
- 0:05them. It's called peer pressure.
- 0:07When we get around people who act bad, we can get pulled into
- 0:11acting bad too. That's why it's important to
- 0:13choose good friends. When you have Jesus living
- 0:16inside of you, you can choose, like the boy in our story, to
- 0:20put on your Superman. Ephesians 51 calls it acting
- 0:24like God. As Christians, we're supposed to
- 0:27put on our Superman every day now.
- 0:30Just get up in the morning, talk to God and decide you're going
- 0:34to act like Him today. Hopefully, it will become a
- 0:37habit that we call walking with God or walking in the Spirit
- 0:42according to Galatians 524. Enjoy our story?
- 0:50One summer day, with the sun shining bright, Wild Water Park
- 0:54was a place for delight with watery streams shooting up from
- 0:58the ground as Shiloh and Avi danced all around, just like
- 1:02many children playing that day, while mommy's all watched a safe
- 1:07distance away. Then, all of a sudden, from out
- 1:10of the blue, came a terrible screech.
- 1:16Oh, what should we do? Shiloh and Avi knew the best
- 1:20place to be was right next to Mommy, so they ran there
- 1:23quickly. The children and mommies were
- 1:26looking around to see who could make such a horrible sound.
- 1:31Two wild creatures burst out through the trees with a roar in
- 1:35the ground. They ran like a breeze.
- 1:38They tipped over strollers and threw stuff in the air.
- 1:42Bottles and towels and an old teddy bear.
- 1:45Hobby asked. Shiloh did.
- 1:47They escape from the zoo. Are they monsters or villains?
- 1:52What are they here to do? Shiloh kept watching and soon
- 1:56realized they're not monsters or villains.
- 1:59Avi, open your eyes. Look, they're just boys that
- 2:03behave really bad. They embarrassed their mother
- 2:08and frustrate their dad. Shiloh and Abby watched with mom
- 2:12by their side as the bad acting boys made kids run and hide.
- 2:17They pushed a girl, knocking her to the ground, and they just
- 2:20kept on running wildly around. No, excuse me, I'm sorry.
- 2:26I hope you're OK. Those are things only polite
- 2:29kids would say. Those bad acting boys acted bad
- 2:33as they could, splashing and splattering where anyone stood.
- 2:39Angry mommies searched to find who brought these to Where's
- 2:42their parent that tells them what good kids should do?
- 2:46While mommies kept watching, kids started to play.
- 2:49Shiloh and ABI also ventured away.
- 2:53And so, while they played and tried to have fun, Shiloh kept
- 2:57watching those bad acting ones. And then something happened.
- 3:04Something not good. A thought came to Shiloh to act
- 3:09bad as he could. It popped in his head like a
- 3:12wild water spout. It popped up inside and it
- 3:15wouldn't go out. He started to think that those
- 3:18bad boys were cool, even though they were acting like they were
- 3:22fools. Shiloh's thought was if he acted
- 3:26like them, there'd be a chance that they would like him, That
- 3:31he'd have more fun by behaving bad and no one would stop him,
- 3:36not mom and not dad. And as fast as he joined those
- 3:40bad acting boys, he was splashing small kids and taking
- 3:44their toys. So Avi ran yelling.
- 3:48Mommy, come quick. Something's wrong with Shiloh.
- 3:51He might be sick. He's acting real crazy, like
- 3:56he's full of hate. Quick mommy, do something before
- 3:59it's too late. And so Mommy changed right
- 4:03before Avi's eyes. Super Mom stood up, much to
- 4:08Avi's surprise, and music from heaven started to play.
- 4:13Or was it Mom's iPhone? I can't really say.
- 4:16But all through the park, praise music was heard.
- 4:20Praise steals the enemy, and our hearts are stirred.
- 4:24It made Mommy stronger than off in a dash with her fiery red
- 4:28hair blazing streaks like a flash.
- 4:31She stopped in an instant, looking at Shiloh without even
- 4:35thinking. Just like a hero.
- 4:37She pointed at Shiloh. Shiloh stopped.
- 4:40She did say. You're not a wild creature.
- 4:42You stop acting that way. Jesus lives in you and he makes
- 4:45you strong. You have self-control, you don't
- 4:49have to act wrong. And right in that instant,
- 4:52Shiloh started to smile as he quickly remembered that he was
- 4:56God's child and the fruit of the Spirit.
- 4:59It started to flow like Lovejoy and peace.
- 5:02All the good stuff, you know. Mom, you look pretty.
- 5:06Shiloh said, full of cheer, and Avi was smiling as she proudly
- 5:10stood near. Shiloh.
- 5:12Said Mommy. Don't ever forget you are gentle
- 5:15and kind and you're obedient even when I'm not near.
- 5:19You just have to be strong, keep doing things right and don't do
- 5:22things wrong. Be the hero that God wants you
- 5:25to be. You can be super too,
- 5:28definitely. And then Super Shiloh burst into
- 5:31view. He returned all the toys and
- 5:34apologized too. And he started acting like he
- 5:37knew he should, acting like Jesus, always doing good.
- 5:43Now he prays for others wherever they go and thoughts to act bad.
- 5:49Well, he just says no. Special thanks to Shiloh and
- 5:56Aviana Coulson and Ethan Webb. David and the Giant Sword David
- 6:08was a shepherd boy that took care of the sheep.
- 6:11He'd sit out in the field all day.
- 6:14Sometimes that's where he'd sleep.
- 6:16To pass the time, he liked to pray and sing songs to the Lord.
- 6:20That's why he wrote the book of Psalms, to keep from getting
- 6:23bored. One day he was writing and he
- 6:26heard a sheep start crying. David noticed that the sheep was
- 6:30looking at a lion, and just about the time the lion tried to
- 6:34take a bite, David took his sling and hurled a rock with all
- 6:39his might. He slung a rock just like he'd
- 6:42done so many times before, and hit that lion on his head.
- 6:46It made that lion roar, but still that sheep was in his
- 6:50mouth, about to be his snack, until he felt a little tap from
- 6:54David on his back. The lion turned, and that's when
- 6:58David grabbed him by his beard, then punched the lion in his
- 7:01nose. The lion thought, that's weird,
- 7:04why did he hit my face? Why isn't he afraid of me?
- 7:07The lion ran to get away as quick as quick can be.
- 7:12Then another time a sheep was captured by a bear.
- 7:15The sheep was buying oh so loud that out fell all his hair.
- 7:19David quickly looked and saw the wool piled on the ground.
- 7:23He grabbed his sling and quickly ran to chase that mean bear
- 7:26down. The bear soon felt the sting of
- 7:30what he didn't know. He looked around, not caring
- 7:33that the sheep was free to go, and then he noticed David
- 7:37standing ready to attack. The bear took off a running and
- 7:41he didn't dare look back. That was easy, David thought,
- 7:46but what he didn't know. All sheep eating critters had
- 7:49been warned where not to go when eating sheep.
- 7:52Be careful if you hear a shepherd sing, make no mistake,
- 7:56you better run if he takes out a sling.
- 7:59Then one day David's father said hey David take a break.
- 8:03I've baked some oatmeal cookies and I made a big cheesecake.
- 8:07David was surprised and wondering, wow what did I do?
- 8:11Until dad said they're for your brother son, they're not for
- 8:15you. So David took the food to battle
- 8:18where his brothers were. That's where he saw the giant.
- 8:21All of Israel called him Sir. His name was Goliath.
- 8:25And each day below the hill, he mocked God's people.
- 8:29Send someone to fight me if you will, Sir.
- 8:32Not me, not me, not me. Each soldier cried in fear.
- 8:37Goliath frightened everyone. No one would dare go near.
- 8:41Though David ran away from him, he knew it wasn't right.
- 8:44If God is on our side, then why are we afraid to fight?
- 8:48So David said I'll be the one. I know my God is real.
- 8:52I have fought with bears and lions.
- 8:54This guy's no big deal. And so the next day in the
- 8:58valley, David there did wait. And when Goliath saw him, he was
- 9:02mad and full of hate. A boy, a boy am IA toy.
- 9:07You think this is a game you send a boy?
- 9:10Oh, I'll take joy and leave you all to blame.
- 9:13When I am done having my fun, you'll find him dead right
- 9:17there. I'll feed him to a pigeon, to a
- 9:19lion and a bear. Then David said, Excuse me Sir,
- 9:24I see your sword and spear, but I come in the name of God.
- 9:28It's him that you should fear. I'm going to beat you, then I'm
- 9:31going to cut off your big head and everyone will know my God is
- 9:35God because you'll be dead. Now you might think he smarted
- 9:40off like all kids sometimes do, but David was just speaking what
- 9:44he heard God tell him to. Those words seemed impossible to
- 9:48all who heard that day, but David knew it's faith that
- 9:52chases enemies away. Goliath full of anger straight
- 9:56for David. He did run while David reached
- 9:59inside his bag of rocks, just grabbing one.
- 10:02He placed it in his sling and started swinging it around and
- 10:06hit Goliath, twing his eyes. It knocked him to the ground.
- 10:10God's army cheered. Goliath's dead, but David had no
- 10:13sword. When saying I'll cut off your
- 10:15head. He knew he'd heard the Lord.
- 10:18Goliath's sword was heavy, quite a struggle not to drop.
- 10:22He raised it high, then let it fall.
- 10:24The giant's head went plop and they're off.
- 10:27In the distance stood a lion and a bear.
- 10:30They thought, well, we tried to warn that giant, but he didn't
- 10:34care. So when a bear or lion roars,
- 10:37most people run and hide, but they're just warning all who
- 10:40hear that God's on David's side. The moral of this story is when
- 10:46people praise the Lord, it paralyzes enemies and opens
- 10:50prison doors. It helps you to remember that
- 10:52when problems come your way, God's on your side to help you.
- 10:56So like David, pray each day. David didn't cry for help when
- 11:01he went out to fight. He knew God was with him and
- 11:04that standing up was right. And when Goliath threatened him,
- 11:08he didn't run and hide. He boldly spoke the words of
- 11:12God, for God was on his side. So when you have a problem and
- 11:16you've taken time to pray, stand up to that giant.
- 11:20Let the problems I'm here. You say the greater 1 is in me,
- 11:24and then you cut off its head. The sword you use is God's word,
- 11:29so your problems end up dead. Sophia and her little brother
- 11:42Caleb love to play. They'd play and play and play
- 11:46and play and play and play all day.
- 11:49The only time they took a break was when they'd sit and eat
- 11:53while playing word games with their mom and dad.
- 11:56It was a treat. Today we're going to play a
- 11:59game. It's called How Big is God?
- 12:02Are you ready? Dad asked as they answered with
- 12:04a nod. And so their dad began the game
- 12:08where he would set the mood. A game that made them think
- 12:11while they would sit and eat their food.
- 12:14How big is God that he can make the light and call it day?
- 12:18How big is God that light can make the darkness run away?
- 12:23Sophia looked at Caleb. This is hard.
- 12:26She tried to think. How big is God?
- 12:30She started. Daddy makes my brother stink.
- 12:34Sophia laughed. Now that's not nice.
- 12:38Mom scolded with a grin. It's your turn, Caleb.
- 12:41Dad encouraged. All eyes looked at him.
- 12:47Said Caleb, not quite sure just what to say.
- 12:50So Mom thought for a moment and then took her turn to play.
- 12:54How big is God that he can make the planets up in space?
- 13:00How big is God that he can keep the earth in its right place?
- 13:04Good one. Dad responded.
- 13:06OK, Caleb, it's all yours. So.
- 13:09Caleb blurted. How big is God that he can make
- 13:13Star Wars? That's a movie.
- 13:17Sophia laughed and they all laughed a bit.
- 13:21They often did on Caleb's turn as he had quite the wit.
- 13:26They all looked at Dad in hopes to go another round.
- 13:29Dad searched his mind for what to say next.
- 13:32This is what he found. How?
- 13:34Big is God that he can make the oceans and the seas.
- 13:38How big is God that he can fill the earth with grass and trees?
- 13:42Well now the game was on as all eyes look Sophia's way.
- 13:46She looked a little flustered, raised an eyebrow, then did say.
- 13:50How big is God? She started slow, then finished
- 13:55it with power. How big is God?
- 13:58Sophia smiled. That she can make a flower.
- 14:01Mom and Dad both clapped now. That's more like it.
- 14:05Dad chimed in. OK, Mom.
- 14:08Said Caleb. What?
- 14:09Mom asked. My turn again.
- 14:12Mom always acted like she didn't know quite how to play, but we
- 14:16all knew this whole time she'd been thinking what she'd say.
- 14:20How big is God that he can make a fruit tree come from seed?
- 14:25How big is God that He can make the earth supply our need?
- 14:30Now Caleb knew that he was next. Without missing a beat, he said.
- 14:34How big is God that he'd give hamburgers to eat?
- 14:40Everyone just laughed again while dad just shook his head
- 14:44and wonder how his boy could think of all the things he said.
- 14:47Buckle up your. Seatbelts, Dad warned, looking
- 14:50at his watch. It's almost time for bed, I'd
- 14:53better turn it up a notch. How big is God that He can make
- 14:57this summer turn to fall and winter turned to spring so that
- 15:01we might enjoy them all? How big is God that he can place
- 15:04clouds in a sky of blue? The sun comes up, the moon goes
- 15:08down to start each day brand new.
- 15:11You should have been a rapper, dad.
- 15:13Sophia burst out. How did you do?
- 15:17That Caleb cried. His face began to pout.
- 15:21You need to play the game how you were playing it before.
- 15:25OK, OK. Dad laughed and at it.
- 15:28Let me go once more. How big is God that he can make
- 15:32the mountains way up high? How big is God that he can
- 15:35create birds and make them fly? That's better.
- 15:39Caleb stated and Sophia did agree.
- 15:42She took a deep breath and then started.
- 15:44Now it's up to me, how big is God that he can create fish and
- 15:50make them swim? How big is God that He can
- 15:54create us to talk to Him? That's my girl.
- 15:59Said mom, while dad was proud, as proud can be.
- 16:02You did it. Caleb thought.
- 16:05So I can do it too maybe? And right there in that moment,
- 16:10it's what everybody needs to tap into, the love of God that helps
- 16:14us to succeed, to do things that we never thought that we could
- 16:19ever do. That's how big our God is, that
- 16:23He'll work inside of you. God made the earth to be a home
- 16:27where you and I can live, where we love one another and our
- 16:31thanks to him we give. To be part of His family is what
- 16:35he has in mind. God's so big because it makes
- 16:39him easier to find. Dad's watch said it's bedtime,
- 16:44but then Mom spoke up instead. My turn.
- 16:47So we listened to what she'd stored inside her head.
- 16:50How big is God that he can love us even when we sin?
- 16:54How big is God that He can lead us to be born again?
- 16:58Oh. Dad chimed in.
- 17:00That's so good, I think we better quit.
- 17:03No. Yelled Caleb.
- 17:06It's my turn. OK, but then that's it.
- 17:11As all eyes turned to Caleb, they could tell he was sincere
- 17:15and no one could believe what they were all about to hear.
- 17:20How big is God? He's bigger than the biggest
- 17:25things I see. How big is God?
- 17:29He's big enough to fit inside of me.
- 17:34With eyes wide, they all looked at him, not sure just what to
- 17:38say. God has to be big just to fit
- 17:41inside us. There's no way that can't be
- 17:45true. It can't be, but on second
- 17:49thought, it could. If we're made in God's image and
- 17:53God's big, so then we should, and then it's like a light
- 17:58turned on and Dad, he said. I see.
- 18:02I think Caleb's right. It's how God meant us all to be.
- 18:06How big is God that he sent Jesus just to make us new?
- 18:10How big is God that when he made us, he made us big too?
- 18:16Special thanks to Sophia and Caleb Webb.
- 18:25There once was a girl whose name was Sapphire.
- 18:28To be a Princess was her only desire.
- 18:31Sapphire had a thought she would not forget and pleasing that
- 18:35girl her mom would regret. I need a gown.
- 18:39A gown that goes poof. Then I'd be a Princess.
- 18:43I'd have the proof. So mom went shopping and
- 18:46shopping some more till the dress was found that she would
- 18:49adore. Mom, it's so pretty.
- 18:52She put on the dress, then plopped on the floor.
- 18:55Oh no, it's a mess. The poof is too small 'cause
- 19:00when I sit down it should poof way out, poof out all around.
- 19:05Look at you, Sapphire. Her mom tried to say.
- 19:09Now you're a Princess. Sapphire said.
- 19:12No way. Maybe glass slippers?
- 19:15She started to smile. Then I'd be a Princess with lots
- 19:19of style. And so once again, the big hunt
- 19:22was on to find crystal slippers she could slip on store after
- 19:27store. None.
- 19:28So mom looked online. She found some.
- 19:31Not cheap, but they do just fine.
- 19:34A Princess Most fair. Mom said with such Glee, looking
- 19:38at Sapphire, she did not agree. I look like a Princess, but
- 19:43something's still wrong. I know it's missing.
- 19:46It's a Princess song. A song.
- 19:49Mom asked. Yes, a song I can sing, a song
- 19:53about true love, that sort of thing.
- 19:56Mom found her a song and it wasn't free.
- 19:59Then Sapphire started singing mostly off key.
- 20:03Now you're a Princess. Said her mom.
- 20:05So proud. No.
- 20:07She yelled back because the music was loud.
- 20:09I just remembered. Her memory was jogged.
- 20:13To be a Princess, I must kiss a frog.
- 20:16Out of frustration, Sapphire's mom said.
- 20:19Fine, but after this girl I won't spend a dime.
- 20:23Before long, Sapphire. She closed her eyes tight, and
- 20:27she kissed that frog with all of her might, and then when she
- 20:31looked, she started to cry. I'm still not a Princess and I
- 20:37don't know why. I've tried everything and it's
- 20:41not enough. I can't be a Princess, It's just
- 20:45too tough. So her mom got down and looked
- 20:48in her eyes. I know what is wrong.
- 20:50It's not a surprise. Being a Princess is not how you
- 20:54look. She held up a Bible.
- 20:56It's in this book. Sapphire listened close as her
- 20:59mom explained. Jesus died for your sins, He
- 21:02bore your pain, and Jesus was sent by God up above to give us
- 21:07a life of peace, health and love.
- 21:10Make Jesus your Lord a new life he'll bring.
- 21:12You'll be a Princess, a child of the King.
- 21:16And then Sapphire prayed. I want to say I'm glad you sent
- 21:21Jesus for my sins to pay Jesus, I ask you to live in my heart.
- 21:27I'll act like your Princess. I'll do my part.
- 21:32I'll love my neighbor. That's what I will do.
- 21:36I'll tell all my friends that you love them too.
- 21:41Being a Princess is not what you wear, it's what's in your heart.
- 21:45It's knowing God's there. A Princess has something special
- 21:49to do. A Princess is special.
- 21:53Special like you. Special thanks to Ali Adiola,
