- 0:05Welcome to Keeping It Real with Erin and Terry.
- 0:07Sponsored by Imperfection by Erin.
- 0:10And produced by Magic Door Studio.
- 0:12On today's episode, we are gonna talk about the Universal man
- 0:20that cannot find anything. We're also gonna talk about blue
- 0:25jobs and pink jobs. The phenomenon.
- 0:28Has that hit your house? Would it be fair to say?
- 0:31You find nothing? Yes, that's fair.
- 0:34Terry is on trial. Terry, you're on trial since
- 0:38today I met you. Well, I have to admit that I
- 0:41can't. I'm going to plead the 5th.
- 0:43Can't plead the 5th. Why sorry, is it a universal
- 0:46thing with men? I have you here on the sofa.
- 0:49So for all the girls listening he is going to break bro code
- 0:54like that's. Like bro code what you mean?
- 0:56Because I'm going to ask you, what is it and why do men?
- 1:01I can't find it, I can't see it. It's there in front.
- 1:05Of you listen, I genuinely think I actually have a visual
- 1:08impairment. Yeah, I genuinely, I swear on
- 1:12the Bible. Like I was looking in that
- 1:14drawer for so long and it's like, it's like I can't find one
- 1:19and next, well, I look in a three or four time, next one
- 1:21just appears. I'm like, is there something
- 1:23actually wrong with me? That's a big fat lie because you
- 1:25don't go. I look 3 or 4 times and then it
- 1:28appears. You go can't find it and Erin
- 1:31comes in and then it appears in the freaking place I told you it
- 1:36was going to be in the exact spot.
- 1:38Oh, there it is. Here.
- 1:39Yeah, It's like I it's like I've visually impaired.
- 1:41I can't find it. Where did you find that?
- 1:43I don't see it. In the place I told you, yeah.
- 1:46So this is not the only man I've dated.
- 1:49I know that's a shock. Hard to Terry.
- 1:51I never told you. Before horror.
- 1:53I am horrified right now. I have dated other guys.
- 1:56I'm horrified. Stop now.
- 1:58Stop you stop now. Oh, stop.
- 2:00But keep going with that one. They all can't find things, So
- 2:04what is it? Do you know what I think it is
- 2:08right? My honest opinion right?
- 2:09And I heard it from someone we know as well and a friend and
- 2:14not a close friend, but she said men hate to be inconvenienced
- 2:20after a certain age. So I think we're only half
- 2:25looking since because we don't want to look in particular.
- 2:29So basically you want me to be a man?
- 2:30Find Jackie is fair. I can't even manage my own life
- 2:34half the time. That's what I'm here for.
- 2:37So that, oh, just hit that. So that brings us on now to the
- 2:41blue jobs and the pink jobs, which, by the way, can cause
- 2:44absolute carnage in the house. Yeah, I'm perimenopause.
- 2:47Kind of ironic you're wearing a blue jumper right now.
- 2:50Well, you know, sometimes I do feel like the blue jobs are on
- 2:53me, or if I don't, I have to pretend I'm going to do the blue
- 2:57jobs. This is a trick my ladies have
- 2:59taught me to. Which ones?
- 3:01The Savage No. No, no, Instagram, my followers.
- 3:03And Savage. So here's.
- 3:05The trick, girls, if you're listening, OK, you take the job,
- 3:09you take the tool, you take the powerhose, you take the hammer
- 3:14and you put it to the wall and to the test.
- 3:17And then he watches you, OK, And he goes, I'll do, I'll do it.
- 3:21So if you want something done, do it yourself.
- 3:25Until he, Until you. Until you guilt him into doing
- 3:28it. Guilt.
- 3:29You've only asked tomorrow 700 times.
- 3:32OK, there's another tip I'm going to give to our listeners,
- 3:35tracking them with the bill. That's a good one.
- 3:40In fairness, that is no. Problem.
- 3:41I'll guess someone to I'll guess someone to wash this smell of
- 3:45urine off my artificial grass. The.
- 3:47Smell of what? Urine.
- 3:49Oh yeah. That was a big that.
- 3:51Was a serious serious Like there was nearly a divorce over there.
- 3:55Yeah, because tomorrow was about four months ago.
- 3:58Yeah. Tell them what?
- 3:59You said and you know what? When I, when I finally did, when
- 4:02I finally did the the job, I, I, I just found it so exhilarating.
- 4:07That's how I feel after a night with you.
- 4:09I finally do the job it feels like.
- 4:11Why the hell didn't I just do it a few weeks ago?
- 4:13You like me bracelet, by the way.
- 4:14Yeah, actually he doesn't forget where that bracelet is.
- 4:18So Terry, do you like it? And me were in Lanzarote and it
- 4:21was actually horrific weather. And we went to this market and
- 4:24Terry's like, look at these bracelets.
- 4:26I'm going to get me and Jake these bracelets.
- 4:30Terry. Scarlet, France.
- 4:31Terry. I love it.
- 4:33Well, clearly you love because you haven't taken off your
- 4:35wrist. It's a Do you want?
- 4:36Me to take the brace. Off.
- 4:38Is it because you're like leather straps?
- 4:42Do you want a little whip leather strap?
- 4:44Terry, is that what you're thinking?
- 4:46No, no, I'm pleading the 5th. I'm on trial.
- 4:48No, Terry, it looks like a belt on your wrist and.
- 4:51What? I have to stop being mean to
- 4:55because people are going to be like.
- 4:56She's no, no, keep going to them.
- 4:58Yeah, no, because I make you look great.
- 4:59Actually, I'm not. I should be your PR manager.
- 5:04You should be my PR manager. You think you're direct in my
- 5:06life now at this point? All right, I'm going to play
- 5:09ball with you. You can't.
- 5:10Find your key. As the listeners who thinks I
- 5:12should remove this from me and I will.
- 5:15And who thinks if he removes that, he won't be able to find
- 5:18it? And guess what?
- 5:22You know why? Because you and Donna will throw
- 5:24it out like I know, which is all right with me.
- 5:26Close. Now when you see something I
- 5:27don't like, all of a sudden it disappears, never to be seen
- 5:30again and it's in the bin. Like this one.
- 5:32I don't know where that is. Like this one time with your eh
- 5:35wife beat our vest so bad. That was a buzz that was only
- 5:38doing that for the crack. No, I actually.
- 5:40I don't like them anymore. No, and also Terry goes around
- 5:43our house with no top on because.
- 5:45Obviously I don't anymore. It's in the middle of it is in
- 5:47the middle of winter. You still do have your top off.
- 5:49All morning. I'm not, I'm not a minute.
- 5:50I'm in a bad place. Terry, tell everyone when I met
- 5:53you, you had like an A pack and you just go around with your
- 5:55top. Off I never had an A pack.
- 5:57I had a 5 1/2 pack. Well, it looked like I was in
- 6:00love with you, so it looked like A to me.
- 6:03You got extra packs with the Love Ice.
- 6:04What happened there? I don't know, I woke up on.
- 6:07My see the way I took it off you look.
- 6:09Actually I miss it now. Just something about now.
- 6:12Reverse psychology. I love it.
- 6:14So I think it's because you like to be a rocker, isn't it?
- 6:16It's OK. Back to the blue.
- 6:17See what he just did to me there, girls?
- 6:19He literally distracted me about talking about the blue jobs.
- 6:23I'm the pink. This is the most exciting trial
- 6:25I've ever been on, by the way. Yeah.
- 6:26Because you're trying to seduce the judge.
- 6:29Oh, look at my bracelet. Oh, yeah, I'm so great.
- 6:33Why won't you do the jobs? What is the no?
- 6:35Honesty. No.
- 6:35Honesty. Yeah.
- 6:36No, I'm going. Back.
- 6:37I genuinely enjoy doing the once I actually do them, but it's
- 6:42like a default in me that I just kind of like not a way like,
- 6:46well, you know, the way we're running around that other say
- 6:48you're bringing Harry somewhere. You have to go somewhere else
- 6:50yourself this time. You know you're I'm out late
- 6:53singing. You mean you're do you?
- 6:54Want the actual practicalities of the house do not naturally
- 6:57come into me head, but once I do them after World war three
- 7:02happening in the gaffe, I actually go to myself.
- 7:05You know, I actually enjoy doing that Do.
- 7:07You Do you think you enjoy making me go to the brink of
- 7:10insanity? Do you think that's like a
- 7:12little bit of? Your no, because I don't really
- 7:14like no offense. You're not really like that.
- 7:17Enjoyable to be around when you're like that.
- 7:19Why don't you just do it? And then we wouldn't.
- 7:20Because I just naturally don't think of it.
- 7:23Like, do you know how sexy are when you're doing that stuff
- 7:26like that? I'm seeing myself doing a bit of
- 7:28housing at the old camera at all, I'd say.
- 7:30Is that for you? I can see where she's she might
- 7:32be getting that ball. Like that is such a huge lads if
- 7:37you are listening to this OK, I don't know if there's men
- 7:41listening. Your woman will find you so
- 7:45sexually attractive if you don't do those blue jobs like a
- 7:50washer. Hold on a second.
- 7:51Like perpetual in a second. I'm talking to the lads.
- 7:56Do the windows, paint the window sills?
- 7:59Wash the grass. Wait, hold on a second now, just
- 8:02for one second, I want to start. I just want to open the and the
- 8:06topic up a little bit more in relation to blue and paint jobs
- 8:10and all. Right now we're getting into all
- 8:11this kind of old school stuff. We don't live in the 1950s,
- 8:15sixties, 70s anymore, right? And I have noticed a lot when I
- 8:21do go to the shop on my own to do the weekly shop occasionally
- 8:26because you don't, you have some money, you won't come with me,
- 8:28right. A lot of men are out doing the
- 8:32shopping now are a lot of a lot of, excuse me, a lot of lads are
- 8:38out Wheeling the boogies without with their kids and.
- 8:42I don't think my dad ever will to boogies.
- 8:43But that's what I'm saying, mine didn't didn't even change.
- 8:46So things have changed in so far as flexibility has to be yeah,
- 8:52part of the game now. So listen to to call a lot to to
- 8:55get straight to the point anytime that you want to power
- 8:58wash the garden by all means to. Show me how to power wash the
- 9:02garden and you took it off it's. Pretty it's very easy.
- 9:05So there is certain things that we can't do.
- 9:08You can't solely say that's a blue job, that's a pink job
- 9:11because we don't live in the old times anymore.
- 9:14Like, you know, yes, there is certain things, obviously, where
- 9:17it might be something that you can't lift or something like
- 9:20that. I understand that, yeah.
- 9:23Now you're trying to back me into a corner and he's actually
- 9:26I need to go on. To you know, I'm right.
- 9:27That's that's, that's usually our key that she knows I'm right
- 9:29in what I'm saying. Because I do think, for
- 9:32instance, I'm way better at like, let's say, choosing
- 9:35Harry's clothes, yeah. Or maybe looking at.
- 9:38You're also an influencer and in fashion, which you are really
- 9:41good at. Or maybe like Santi and stuff
- 9:43like that. You're not too bad at that, but
- 9:45I would be a little bit more projecting.
- 9:48You see, you're more, I'll tell you what it is.
- 9:50Yeah, you are more on the traditional side which I need
- 9:55help with that. Traditional.
- 9:57I like Santi stuff, blah blah blah blah.
- 9:59I became a father for the first time at 40.
- 10:02OK. It was never a big thing in my
- 10:05house. To become a father.
- 10:06No, the Santi thing. Christmas was not really a big
- 10:09issue like my my my my parents grew up when I was very young as
- 10:15well, remember. You're by humbug though.
- 10:18It's because I'm not used to that kind of enjoyment.
- 10:21So that actually led to another big argument at our home around
- 10:24Christmas time. And I, he was like, oh, you
- 10:26know, yeah, about Christmas. And obviously, you know, he
- 10:30didn't have great memories or whatever.
- 10:33And. Well, I don't have great
- 10:35memories of family life, full stop.
- 10:38But I have a great mother, Jesus, she do it for me.
- 10:41She's a diamond. But family life in general, I
- 10:43don't. I don't have good memories of
- 10:45that. But I was like terrier with me,
- 10:48like. And I think I'm so I'm so
- 10:49consciously caught off from that.
- 10:51But you're with me like 11 years.
- 10:52I know that, but it's. Had 11 centies with me like.
- 10:55I I I also met you when I was what told the.
- 11:00How old were you actually? I was told the What are we
- 11:03together 12 years now? Yeah, so 36.
- 11:06So I had 36 Christmases. Of not like that matching Santi.
- 11:11Pajamas. Like genuinely, I never had
- 11:13anything like that. Never.
- 11:15And look at you now, every year you're in them.
- 11:17Match No, but I'm on a serious now.
- 11:19The way it's don't be dead, like don't be straight.
- 11:21You have to accept that part as well.
- 11:23This was all new for me, you know.
- 11:27Yeah. So like, a lot of it was alien
- 11:31to me. I was like what?
- 11:31This is weird but eh, but at the same time enjoyable.
- 11:35You really struggled your Christmas the most.
- 11:37I I kind of always do. Yeah, I think maybe because they
- 11:42were always my tradition and then like traditions in my
- 11:45family are. And again, I suppose on on
- 11:48social media, what we see, like we didn't have matching pajamas.
- 11:51We always had new pajamas. So that was the thing.
- 11:53New bed clothes. One thing I love about your your
- 11:56side of the family is you, you know, you know, you all know how
- 12:01to celebrate occasions really well.
- 12:04Yeah, I think as well. Which is something that we
- 12:07wouldn't have done so much. We would have, but not to, you
- 12:11know, really make someone feel special.
- 12:13Special. Do you get me?
- 12:15Yeah, like a birthday. Yes, we all come together like.
- 12:18Even it's a big deal. I love that, you know what I
- 12:20mean, But I never really experienced much of that.
- 12:23And you know anyone who? Ever actually get coming from my
- 12:25background? You know what I mean?
- 12:27Yeah, anyone, whoever comes into our family.
- 12:31Again, this is probably a preconceived idea that maybe
- 12:34people didn't realize. This about us is we're really
- 12:38loyal. Definitely.
- 12:40And we're if you're in, you're in takes a while.
- 12:44And I'm talking about like my extended family, like aunties,
- 12:48uncles, cousins. And remember, like my aunty, she
- 12:52actually passed away, but like, she was kind of borderline route
- 12:55here for ages, remember, Yeah. They like and then I was I was
- 12:58actually doing Curry in a time in the van and the torn out.
- 13:01I was court. I was delivering into a place
- 13:02where she worked and I bumped into and we got talking and I
- 13:06think she just realized, oh, he's just normal.
- 13:08He scraped. It doesn't be that they're.
- 13:10Really passed the test, Yeah, yeah.
- 13:12Passed. It and now your other auntie.
- 13:13He was very similar. She texts me the odd time as
- 13:16well, just out of out of the blue.
- 13:18Yeah. So that's, that's the way our
- 13:21family is. So when you come into our family
- 13:24into like my mom's side of the family, especially because
- 13:26that's who we would have grew up around a lot, they would take it
- 13:30in and they like, I'm so close to all my cousins.
- 13:33There's some. But I feel like I'm closer to
- 13:36your cousins than I am. Meow.
- 13:38Yeah. You know.
- 13:40Well, and and. As well like.
- 13:42Maybe because there's another thing man versus woman I
- 13:46sometimes feel, or maybe it's just the people that I'm around.
- 13:50Or what I've seen is, is that like at Christmas time and
- 13:53stuff, the man nearly goes to the woman's house and the
- 13:56woman's family. That.
- 13:57Now can I just point out one thing on that right?
- 14:00Yeah. And this is one thing that I've
- 14:01known as straight. OK.
- 14:04Now I'm not saying it's the case in all cases, but I'm saying a
- 14:07lot. I've known as straight boy meets
- 14:10girl, they start hitting it off boy.
- 14:14All of a sudden Dan becomes involved in girls life more and
- 14:20leaves his own side of things behind.
- 14:24OK. And maybe we'll move towards the
- 14:26girls area. Why do you think that is?
- 14:29I don't know because I know someone else, a couple that we
- 14:32know well, who are exactly the same.
- 14:34I'm not going to say who they are, obviously, but it's exactly
- 14:36the same thing. Yeah, I think for most.
- 14:40But I think it's because girls like the security of having
- 14:44their mothers close to them. Yeah, we rely.
- 14:47On where sons like I was living our home when I was 19.
- 14:51Yeah, I'm young. Do you know what I mean?
- 14:54No, I was on a path of whatever distress, self destruction, if
- 14:58you want to call it that boat. At the same time, I left my home
- 15:02kind of early. Sons, I would say, tend to do
- 15:04that easier than than girls do, Johnny.
- 15:07Yeah, I think, I think that's if that's a fairpoint.
- 15:10Definitely. I also think, I also think
- 15:15somebody made this real valid point was I know this is
- 15:18probably deeper than what we thought it was going to be, but
- 15:20I think we're going there to. Put the main thing is Terry's no
- 15:23longer on trial. See that?
- 15:24Well, didn't we? See how we done that?
- 15:26He's really good. You should be a politician.
- 15:29Fall for Terry. You know yourself.
- 15:33OK, so somebody made this real valid point to us during the
- 15:35day. Yeah.
- 15:38Men from the time they're like boys, most of the time have been
- 15:42told what to do by women, whether it's a like a teacher,
- 15:46grown up, their mammy like. So when they marry a wife,
- 15:50sometimes they feel again that the wife is telling them what to
- 15:53do. You have a real issue.
- 15:55With the authoritarian figure, yeah, yeah.
- 16:00But it's only true to their own work.
- 16:02Spiritual walk on myself. I've realized that that comes
- 16:07from childhood. Like so now I thought this was
- 16:12real funny right? I hate when Terry walks on the
- 16:15carpet after being Hilbert. Like just for 24 hours.
- 16:19The cleaners after being here. Can we not keep the health
- 16:21clean? OK, we've seen as you're getting
- 16:23into that kind of thing. No, no, I hate about you.
- 16:25When you leave, you leave. Yeah, she was right in the
- 16:26doorway. You take them off and leave them
- 16:28in doorway. Who even does that?
- 16:30The person that would bring them up the stairs, when they go up
- 16:32the stairs, I leave them up the stairs.
- 16:34So the person that's walking up the stairs broke my shoes.
- 16:38That is the biggest fat. If Margaret couldn't hear me
- 16:43now, I would be saying the big effing ward, because that's a
- 16:46lie. Yeah, it's not a lie.
- 16:48Right. Do you know what I'm going to do
- 16:49for next week? I'm moving nothing belong to
- 16:51you. I'm I'm going to move my own
- 16:53stuff. I lived in a bed suit for years.
- 16:56We can tell which I won't court and open.
- 16:59You know what I mean? What court and open?
- 17:04Yet another ick he's actually opened the one court and.
- 17:07Yeah, and you know what? I.
- 17:09Actually came home from a healing retreat when I met
- 17:11Harry. Thank God because I'd have been
- 17:12like, I'm out here. And folks, here we are 12 years
- 17:15later. Yeah, yeah, I blame.
- 17:17That I blame, I mean. They seduce me into calmness.
- 17:21Admit it. I do love you.
- 17:23I loved you from the moment I met you, but I was probably very
- 17:28calm after doing my healing retreat.
- 17:30Very calm but delusional possibly.
- 17:33Possibly you know, with the one curtain no, So Terry by default,
- 17:38if I ask him to do something will go no.
- 17:42So I was on me Instagram must have been doing a video and
- 17:46Terry walked in and I said, take your shoes off because the
- 17:48cleaner had been there. Just keep the carpet clean and
- 17:52straight away without even taking a breath.
- 17:54Terry goes no and then we follow her row Ha ha ha.
- 17:58Terry says no and then takes his shoes off straight away.
- 18:01Yeah, I do that, Yeah. Do you know who else I notice
- 18:04does that? Taylor, probably, yeah, because
- 18:07she's, what? A child, basically.
- 18:08No, she's 25. You're nearly 50.
- 18:12Going on 25. Going on five sometimes and then
- 18:17what is the other one that you do?
- 18:18Oh, so this is my answer, girls to him now, Terry, this is
- 18:23happening. So we can do it your way or my
- 18:28way and you can say yeah, and you're going to have the best
- 18:31time and it's going to be for the greater good.
- 18:33What do you want to do? I sometimes I don't like to do
- 18:36that. You're telling me?
- 18:38I like to dig in. You like to anime me?
- 18:42I I like to dig in just for the crack, yeah.
- 18:44There's another universal thing with men.
- 18:45Or is it just the men Aaron has chosen whore life that actually
- 18:50like anime? That Aaron chose.
- 18:52Yeah, I know, I was obviously traumatized too.
- 18:55But why do men like to annoy their partner?
- 19:01She's still on purpose. Not all the time, but sometimes
- 19:05yes, but not all the time. I think we are quite annoying
- 19:08naturally. Men.
- 19:09I think we annoy us. Do I know?
- 19:12I think the dynamic is that you annoy us and we annoy you.
- 19:18Why do we like each other? It's just the way the universe
- 19:21works, I think. Because we like that.
- 19:22Can't live with them, can't live without them.
- 19:25True. And why do you think like
- 19:26certain people make the call and others don't?
- 19:30Because I think you get to a stage in your life when the it's
- 19:33down to time and that this is my own thing, like.
- 19:35Get to the stage in your life where, like all options, where
- 19:37you. Find where you find right, you
- 19:39find right and one of my rant and my my rant room members that
- 19:43say this as well. Like what the fuck else we gonna
- 19:46do? Know what I mean?
- 19:48We're at the stage of our lives where who else had put up for
- 19:50us, gentlemen? So basically you're telling the
- 19:54world that you just chose me because you no.
- 19:56No, you get to a stage where Erin.
- 19:58McGregor was your last option. No, that's not what I'm saying.
- 20:01What I'm saying is, who else would put up with us?
- 20:05Well, I actually don't know who would put up with you.
- 20:07I'm actually just putting that out there to the same.
- 20:09I actually think they're gonna call like me, Saint Aaron.
- 20:11And I also, I also think as well that after a certain amount of
- 20:17time of being together, men and women in any way in general just
- 20:22annoy each other dynamically. Now I do think it grows because.
- 20:26Use like to, but use that you use like things a certain way
- 20:29and then we don't do them that certain way.
- 20:33Yeah, like you. You don't like the island being
- 20:36messy, so you tidy up the message.
- 20:38I have to say I hate I can't look at chaos too long.
- 20:42Now the only area you don't like chaos is on the Ireland.
- 20:45So you didn't realize I'd done this last week?
- 20:47This is back to the Like Terry game.
- 20:49I. Realize you do it all the time,
- 20:50I just don't give you a hard time about a sweetheart.
- 20:52That is a lie, because this is what I'd done on my menopause
- 20:55rant. OK, yeah, so the urine smell out
- 20:59the back. We've caught that already.
- 21:01Do you think I'm the one having to piss out the back?
- 21:04No, I wouldn't surprise me because you might be able to
- 21:06find the. House yeah, 1 is training.
- 21:08Where do you want them to piss? Do you want to put a little
- 21:12doggy toilet out the back in the corner?
- 21:14We can make loads. Of money Anyone makes doggy
- 21:16toilets, please get in touch. Yeah, you probably wouldn't
- 21:19flush it or wipe after anyway. Who's going to clean the toilet?
- 21:22The rain would. Who's going to clean the toilet?
- 21:25You have to clean the toilet. I'll deal with the power washer
- 21:27and down the grass. Exactly.
- 21:29You don't do it. OK, so Terry was out doing the
- 21:32grass right after like literally me losing my shit outside.
- 21:36That's fine. I'm starting to like D Simmer
- 21:38now at this stage. But I came in and I still was
- 21:41angry. So when I'm angry like that, I'm
- 21:43starting to look around at other things that make me angry
- 21:45because I'm on the roll now. So let's start looking.
- 21:47Around you do. Then you locked me out.
- 21:49I didn't do that actually I don't that by accidental our
- 21:52habit. So I noticed that everything
- 21:54from the island that you hate being messy, you move from the
- 21:58island onto the kitchen table. So on spite.
- 22:02I do that. I moved it all back onto the
- 22:04island. I do that.
- 22:06And said fuck, you know you won't put.
- 22:07On no, I do. I like meet the.
- 22:09I like the islands clean. Help what can it be clean if you
- 22:12just move it from like literally 10 feet the.
- 22:15Island. Is to the left and the table is
- 22:18to the right. It's my priorities.
- 22:19That's why I like the island is to be clean, because when I walk
- 22:22into the kitchen, the first thing I see.
- 22:25Remember the time I absolutely lost my shit because we were
- 22:27only in a new house? No, you never did that before.
- 22:29We are only in a new house, right?
- 22:31And yeah, actually, people are like, this is really bad, but
- 22:34I'm just giving it like, 12 years together, OK?
- 22:36This is just like a roundup of all the funny things.
- 22:39So when I'm periodical, like when I'm near that time of
- 22:43month, I get very particular about how my house looks OK,
- 22:47especially we had only got a new extension and the new chairs and
- 22:52the new table and they were a lot of money, OK.
- 22:55And Terry wouldn't see that the sofa has three legs and it's
- 22:59smelly, so he wouldn't care about that where I would.
- 23:02So I wanted I want the chairs to look as good and clean forever,
- 23:06OK? Yeah, but you, you don't want
- 23:08anyone to live in the gaffe. Great.
- 23:11Well then. Hover buy another house and have
- 23:14that as your show house. You buy another house and you
- 23:16have as a show house you should. Just live in your gram room, no?
- 23:20Because that's work. Just respect.
- 23:24Just respect, right? The home.
- 23:27Right. I'm gonna kick one back at you
- 23:28now, right? Right now on trial.
- 23:31Gonna zip this up. So this is what Erin?
- 23:34Does, by the way, this is what Erin does, by the way, right?
- 23:39She ring me after getting ready to go out.
- 23:41Yeah. And she go, the house is upside
- 23:44down. That was about 7 years ago.
- 23:46That's about yesterday. No, it's about 7:00.
- 23:49Because I don't do that to you anymore.
- 23:50Do to Donnie. Because, Donna, How?
- 23:52You do it to me all the time. The house is upside down.
- 23:55You said it to me last night. That's so you'll help me.
- 23:57Upside down. Yeah, so we'll.
- 23:59And because I'm so easy going laid by 30 no problem love.
- 24:04I said that to you World War three.
- 24:06Yeah a little imprint of a of a runner in the carpet slaughter.
- 24:11But yeah, does blade and an atomic bomb of makeup after
- 24:17going on up at the top room. I'm working.
- 24:19You're not the only one that can say that I'm working.
- 24:22I actually I'm I'm tick tock now.
- 24:24I've to go to work. That's me working.
- 24:27I think you should get me a studio.
- 24:29I'd love to get you a studio by me.
- 24:32Lovely. Yeah, Now right back, back.
- 24:34To the job I had OK me on trial. You on trial so and by the way,
- 24:40before we get to the losing point of me losing it, there's
- 24:44been about like 100 things of like, hey Terry, you know, can
- 24:49we just not put the jackets on the very first chair in the
- 24:54brand new extension. So when you open the door and
- 24:57you're saying, hey everyone, here's my new extension, you
- 25:00don't want to see Terry's black jacket that's rotten and she'll
- 25:03be in the bin, but whatever. That you wear all the time when
- 25:05you're cold. Because it is warm, I'll give
- 25:06you that. It's an ugly jacket and he said
- 25:08it's warm and that's why you wear.
- 25:09Only about that jacket. It's a beautiful jacket.
- 25:11Tell the truth. No, it is a great jacket.
- 25:14You don't like my style either, by the way.
- 25:17Carry on anyway. OK, we'll get into that next.
- 25:19So the jacket, OK, is trown on the chair.
- 25:23So every time I'm like Terry, can we just put it on the
- 25:25utility room? In the utility room, you know
- 25:28the coat hangers that we have in the utility room, that's where
- 25:31they're for they're. Not coat hangers, actually their
- 25:33handles on presses. No, I got rid of the coat
- 25:35hangers. Too many coats in the back of
- 25:36the door because people weren't putting their coats away.
- 25:40I forgot we had. That we did have that.
- 25:41So at the time, I made it really easy and appealing to you to go
- 25:47into the utility room and hang it on the coat hanger.
- 25:50OK, Nope, Nope, Nope. So one night.
- 25:54I lived in a bed suit for years. What?
- 25:59Would you do if you had no excuse?
- 26:00And I wouldn't mind as Matt is so particular like his ma is.
- 26:03So she's way more house private. Me so most of the time now.
- 26:07So most of the time now girls, I have just succumbed to it and I
- 26:12just closed my eyes because the reality is, is like mentally
- 26:16obviously I don't close my eyes physically.
- 26:17The reality is is I'll end up fighting with you all the time
- 26:21and everyone that lives in the house or I'll end up like if I
- 26:25go onto a clean and spray I will end up wiping the counter about
- 26:297 times and I'm like I give up. So it actually becomes obsessive
- 26:32to me. Tell them how you know when I'm
- 26:34anxious or something's wrong with me.
- 26:35You start cleaning incessantly. Whatever I was going through
- 26:39when you already came in, you're like what's wrong?
- 26:42Nothing, what's wrong? Do you want to talk about?
- 26:44No Aaron, you've cleaned that press 7 times.
- 26:52Makes me feel good. Should try it.
- 26:53Whatever you want to do yourself.
- 26:55Right. What would our blue jobs do we
- 26:58think Terry should do for Aaron? Yeah.
- 27:01Yeah, put it in the comments. Put it in the comments.
- 27:04And that, listen, go easy. Yeah, I'm a nice guy.
- 27:08I think he should clean my car. I lived in a bedsit for years.
- 27:18You know, I'm actually not a bad car cleaner.
- 27:24Now, funny enough, I actually got this thing off team you.
- 27:27Yeah, it's it's a game changer. It's a it's a little Hoover.
- 27:31You pull over into your cigarette lighter and you just
- 27:33Hoover the carriage. You go, I'll try on yours.
- 27:36I'll treat you. I'll treat you.
- 27:37No, I do have one. If you treat me, I'll treat you.
- 27:42Next party might be glown. It's a family show.
- 27:45You might How do you know? You don't even have any viewers
- 27:47yet. You don't know what it is.
- 27:48This is a family show. Could be anything, chair, could
- 27:51be anything. Yeah, true.
- 27:53You could be treating me tomorrow.
- 27:54Walk more blue. Here, here.
- 27:59Look, here's another list of blue jobs I found for you.
- 28:01Congratulations. I kind of love the jobs, but I'm
- 28:05not a traditional wife, am I in my sense?
- 28:08Like I can cook, but I don't particularly like cooking.
- 28:11But I I would walk that. Yeah, I listen, I can, I can put
- 28:14a meal there. I wouldn't be, you know, very
- 28:17creative in cooking. That's because you lived in a
- 28:20bed set and you're out on your own since you're 19.
- 28:22Thank you. Finally, now you're getting it
- 28:2412 years later. Those stuff, that's why you can
- 28:27suck. You know when I had Taylor and I
- 28:30couldn't actually open an egg? Actually, I'm actually pretty
- 28:34good at all the eggs. Actually couldn't open my egg
- 28:36and I, you know, I couldn't buy an egg either because obviously
- 28:39I was spoiled by my man. Boiling an egg is is a skill.
- 28:43It is a skill. It is who can make a good egg.
- 28:46It's three to four, I think, for a runy 1 is it?
- 28:48I'll make his toast into little soldiers.
- 28:50You're actually an amazing that's that is something that
- 28:54absolutely. Looks like it's actually.
- 28:56It's actually one of my proudest, eh, achievements.
- 28:59Well, you should be really proud of that and he absolutely
- 29:02idolizes it. And you're an amazing stepdad to
- 29:04Taylor as well. Thanks very much.
- 29:06Sometimes I think they're like the same person.
- 29:08Me and Tay are literally father and daughter.
- 29:12There's no. Doubt.
- 29:12Funny, I'm like yous are. Literally personality the same
- 29:18it's like. Headstrong.
- 29:20It's not even funny, isn't it? No, so, so similar.
- 29:22Like, you know. Yes.
- 29:25So it's actually so funny how you're not obviously Taylor's
- 29:31biological dad, but you're so is are so similar in certain areas
- 29:36and she really confides in you. Probably you're like the good
- 29:39cop versus me, the bad cop. Yeah, well, I want to.
- 29:42I want, I want her to be able to come to me and not be afraid to
- 29:47say stuff because I was always afraid to say stuff to.
- 29:50Your dad. My I will.
- 29:51I didn't say anything to my dad. Like it's just no way.
- 29:56Like I could say the odd thing even like it was a different
- 30:00kind of it. Was different back.
- 30:02Then yeah, different generation, different.
- 30:03How do you say everything to my model?
- 30:05Yeah. My mom's younger than your
- 30:07model. Yeah, but also I was out of the
- 30:12house very quick. I didn't talk to much many
- 30:14people when I was younger. Do you know what I mean?
- 30:17Actually, here's another thing that you didn't talk to people
- 30:21much. Terry is like the mayor of
- 30:24Lucan, so he knows everyone in super value.
- 30:28In dorms in Tesco's, he makes friends with everyone.
- 30:32It's called networking and. Oh, it's so funny.
- 30:36And he's like, oh, that's it's not Mary, but just saying that's
- 30:38Mary up the road. They they talk to me because I
- 30:41give off that energy. You're a fake nice guy.
- 30:48No, I do be delighted to get out of the house how he is.
- 30:53I know he went to Super Queen. I'm not messing about four or
- 30:55five times a day. The the most I went to is five
- 30:57times in Monday. That was to get wait me he.
- 30:59Actually told me the other day, because we're doing a different
- 31:01regime where I shop and as you probably know, if you're
- 31:03watching us on the socials, right, where do you?
- 31:05Do those soldiers? Right, they actually told me in
- 31:08super value they miss me stopping I'm missing.
- 31:12So we're two people did not all them obviously.
- 31:14That's a lot of people here. Two people, said Two people.
- 31:17A lot of people like, you know, for the chats.
- 31:19He is very friendly. You could kind of bring Terry
- 31:22anywhere. That's what I also love about
- 31:25you. You're kind of like you listen
- 31:28to what you have to say. So even though you might take me
- 31:30to the edge where I lose my shit about something, what if I have
- 31:34an issue and I go to you with it and I say this is this, you'll
- 31:40take on board? But the way I look at it is
- 31:41this. If you're actually losing it
- 31:43that much over something, well, that don't mean something to
- 31:45you. And I think so.
- 31:48I kind of have a duty to look at it, you know what I mean?
- 31:51That's cute. Seeing as I'm your life partner
- 31:55and by the way, sorry just for for the record as well, you are
- 31:58an amazing mother. Thanks, yeah that makes me
- 32:02uncomfortable. No, but if if we know you're not
- 32:05a crack, yeah, we what we deal with.
- 32:07We're Hardy and all and. Our son has profound autism.
- 32:12In case it's your first time, listen.
- 32:13He is I, I am a lot more better at dealing with it now.
- 32:18We'll see in the early days when we didn't know what we were
- 32:20doing what, what waters we were navigating, all that kind of
- 32:23stuff, you used to literally dig us out of the hole every time I
- 32:27would be ready to just default mode, run out the door and never
- 32:32come back. You know what I mean?
- 32:34Or you used to be able to comfort them, bring them down.
- 32:39You knew how to you, you know how to do that, where I'm
- 32:42learning how to do that now and I know how to do a lot better
- 32:44now and I'm able to do it now. But before you, you actually
- 32:47showed me how to do that. Yeah.
- 32:49And I think again, I suppose this is another area of our
- 32:54relationship which I think is really important for everybody's
- 32:57relationship, whether it's a friendship or, you know, a
- 33:00marriage or a boyfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend,
- 33:02girlfriend, bye, bye. Whatever you need to assess
- 33:05what's not working. So every now and again we will
- 33:08come together and we will be like, it's not working.
- 33:12And sometimes it's just because someone has a perception of
- 33:16something. For instance, I walk a lot and
- 33:23sometimes Terry wouldn't see that.
- 33:27Am I right in saying that? Yeah, it's easy not to see it
- 33:30because it's on the phone and like most of us use our phones
- 33:34for, we'll say, leisurely. Yeah.
- 33:37I know it's more cotton, more now work driven before it would
- 33:42have been like. Yeah.
- 33:46So what I would then like obviously went through a stage
- 33:50where like, let's sit down, let's chat about it.
- 33:52And it was like everything that I do is always for my family.
- 33:56I always want to like provide for my family, support my family
- 34:01and move us to the next stage, whatever that may be, whatever
- 34:07that looks like. I feel like that is something
- 34:11that is on me is to make sure we're OK and the ship is
- 34:14driving. But.
- 34:15What you have to realize as well as as the man in the
- 34:18relationship, it's important for the man to be part of that
- 34:21driving and direction too. 100% and.
- 34:25Sometimes you find it hard to let go of that.
- 34:29Yeah, I understand where where it comes from, obviously, but
- 34:34you have to remember this way. I had to tell you before you
- 34:37used to refer to a lot of stuff as my, my, my or me, me, me.
- 34:41I'm like on You're not on your own in this house, I'm in it
- 34:43with you. Yeah.
- 34:45Do you know what I mean? That's what I and I know here.
- 34:48I think we've gone past that now and we are 100% shoulder to
- 34:53shoulder driving the ship together.
- 34:56Yeah, and we reassess things and.
- 34:58You have your strong points, I have my strong points, I have my
- 35:01weak points, you have your weak points, but it works perfectly
- 35:04for us. Yeah.
- 35:05So our pink jobs and our blue jobs, they might in be the
- 35:08traditional sense sometimes, but I can't do my blue or pink jobs
- 35:13without Terry, and Terry can't do them without me 400%.
- 35:17And sometimes in today's society it can look different and men
- 35:23can find that difficult. Like here's what for you, right,
- 35:26And I want to say this for for people watching as well.
- 35:30And I like I am a singing 54 to five nights a week.
- 35:38Get a real job, Terry. I'm not saying.
- 35:41Slagging because that's what everyone always said I'm saying.
- 35:42That because I'm letting people know how much I walk, I'm
- 35:47letting people know that you are actually sitting in the house
- 35:50minding our son while that's going on.
- 35:54Yeah, we've made a lot of compromises in.
- 35:56Which is life every weekend and Jordan the week.
- 36:00So there's a lot of times where you're sitting now at night time
- 36:02where most couples are watching the telly to get out.
- 36:05We're not. Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 36:06Like, yeah. And that has to be taken it.
- 36:09That's not the easiest of things to to manage either.
- 36:12Like you know. That's why I love walking with
- 36:14Terry. That's why I was like trying to
- 36:16be like, let's, you know, walk together this way.
- 36:19The podcast came because we genuinely actually have great
- 36:22time. We enjoy, you see, and this is
- 36:25where it came in to where you're at breaking point.
- 36:28I don't want to be in this anymore.
- 36:29Well, hold on a minute. Let's reevaluate the situation.
- 36:33Take all the stresses of life, everyday life.
- 36:36However, take Harry over, take walk over all that kind of
- 36:40stuff. When all of that is gone and
- 36:42it's just me and you, we do we enjoy our comp each other's
- 36:46company. Yes, we love it.
- 36:48Yeah, and that's what I've found.
- 36:51And we don't have enough time together.
- 36:54Yeah, but it's sometimes, you know what it that's OK as well
- 36:58because it can go down the other way when you're spending too
- 37:02much time to get it. You can start, get money
- 37:04shoulders, Wick, you know what I mean?
- 37:05So it's just to find the balance, you know?
- 37:07And I think that is going to lead us into next week's podcast
- 37:11where we're going to be talking about finances, roles and
- 37:17health, managing skills and how today's society is really
- 37:21affected by the way everybody has to walk, male and females.
