- 2:20Hello everyone, good morning, good morning, good morning. This is Black
- 2:24Diamond from the crew Work and you're listening to Basic Black After Dark podcast,
- 2:30the show that meets you where you are and gives you what you ask for.
- 2:34Now. You may not be able to diagnose someone who is doing one
- 2:38hundred who isn't doing one hundred percent, but with a little insight into this
- 2:42state of mind, you can play a valuable role in supporting them to get
- 2:46the state of mind that they need to be in and to get them the
- 2:49help that they need. My guest today is doing big things in a mental
- 2:53health field. She's a human resource consultant, psychologist and global mental health like.
- 3:01She is coming from India. Please welcome my guest to treat Vita.
- 3:17We have a little difficulty in connecting your Vita. As I mentioned, she's
- 3:23doing some big things here in the mental health field. She's got a great
- 3:29following. You'll be able to connect with her if you have any questions,
- 3:32you'll be able to contact her, to be able to talk to her about
- 3:38mental health, or maybe somebody you know that that's working with somebody that's dealing
- 3:45with mental health or someone that's living with mental health. So I'm hoping that
- 3:49we can get her up really soon. But we're going to be again divulging
- 3:54in the global aspect of mental health and her take on this aspect and how
- 4:00it differs with some people saying that it's mental health and some people calling it
- 4:08depression. So I'm hoping Ben that we can get Shrevita here to be able
- 4:15to talk to us about something that's just been going on and some people who
- 4:18actually ignore the signs of mental health. There are some people who are quiet
- 4:26about it and they just don't know how to deal with it and don't know
- 4:29how to ask for help. So we're going to be talking about different ways
- 4:32people could reach out to people, how you can tell the signs of someone
- 4:38who's dealing with mental health. So again we're hoping that Stravida could could join
- 4:44us. I believe that she has a wealth of knowledge to bring to this,
- 4:49to the forefront of this mental illness. I want to talk to some
- 4:56people. Well, great, here's Trevena. Now as we apologize, she's
- 5:09coming from India, so there may be a problem with the connection for us.
- 5:13So hopefully that we can just get ahead. I'm great. Can you
- 5:20hear me? Okay, yeah, I can hear you. Wow, great,
- 5:25Thank you again, Thank you for joining us. I was telling everybody
- 5:28out global mental health. Can you tell us a little bit about global mental
- 5:36health? Yes, to talk about basically about the global mental health. So
- 5:43mental health is something which is very important. It is just a mental health.
- 5:46You know, how you're able to manage your stress, how you're able
- 5:53to manage your day to day dealnks, how are you leading your life?
- 5:57So it's that we don't leave our emotions set of offer. It's or a
- 6:01university or a college. So it's that we need to carry our emotions.
- 6:05We need to carry our baggages and just live the life. So it is
- 6:10all about how positively we are able to balance ourselves here, like positively in
- 6:15the sense like there are ups and downs, there are you know, problems,
- 6:18there are good times. It's all about like how we are able to
- 6:24balance and come up with a solution. So nothing is impossible in this world.
- 6:28Everything is possible. It is that how we are able to balance.
- 6:31It's all about you know, handling our feelings, thoughts, emotions and going
- 6:40ahead. Is mental health a syndrome of symptoms of an individual subjective well being?
- 6:46Or is it a syndrome of symptoms or positive feelings and positive functioning?
- 6:51Yeah? So mental health is subject to positive well being. So when it
- 6:58comes to mental health, it is that, how is our relationship with others?
- 7:04How is my relationship with my new clears? Here? Nucleus is the
- 7:10means. It is a family, so it buck lets down to the circle
- 7:16around us. So it is all about it's not bad. The mental health
- 7:21being not okay is okay. So it is to what extent it is not
- 7:27okay? Or to what extent you're able to balance? Or how is that
- 7:31I'm able to handle the situation? How is that I'm able to handle my
- 7:36own conflict? For example, I have a conflict with my own self,
- 7:41So how is that I'm able to counter it? Or else? Maybe I
- 7:46have an issue with colleague, So am I able to express it? Or
- 7:49am I keeping to myself? Okay? It's it's just you know, sitting
- 7:54across the table and discussing and you know, waiting out the feelings and coming
- 7:58out of it, how is meant to help treated? And what is the
- 8:03biggest mental health challenge? So what is the biggest challenge in the sense how
- 8:11are we able to handle uss? So here I want to explain you in
- 8:16depth. See, every human being comes with a baggage. They have easied
- 8:22memories and desired past okay, owned okay, they have good memories, bad
- 8:28memories. With all these things, the moment we are awake in the morning,
- 8:33we have a lot of cage because we have something which we have to
- 8:37achieve that day or something which had happened yesterday that we did not like.
- 8:41So with all these things, we cannot you know, maintain the same balance.
- 8:46Like you know, there is mixed and match of feelings and emotions.
- 8:50So if first of all it is like very important acknowledge the feelings. There
- 8:56are different kinds of feelings maybe you know, any number of feelings. For
- 9:00example, if I am you know, if I'm have that means I'm pleasant.
- 9:05You know, I'm curious to learn and you know I'm able to extend
- 9:09help to others. So I'm feeling, uh you know, wholl create all
- 9:13that positive emotions? So based on feelings, you have the emotions, okay,
- 9:20so it is very important, like somebody should acknowledge what they're feeling.
- 9:24Based on that, then it boss to their emotions. There are positive emotions,
- 9:30there are magaity emotions. So once I'm able to differentiate the difference between
- 9:35thoughts, feelings, emotions, behavior, it is it is easy to understand.
- 9:41How is that? For example, as I've totally if I'm very happy
- 9:45on some particular day, it is that my emotions are very possible. Based
- 9:50on that, my behavior with everybody will be very cool and great, like
- 9:54I'm able to accept the situations. I'm able to you know, gel along
- 9:58with people. So you see the connections. Like how it is you know,
- 10:03after the if your thoughts are good, your activities are good, like
- 10:07you will be very pleasant, you are able to achieve or accomplish the task
- 10:11for the day. For example, maybe like I'm in a withdrawal mode.
- 10:16There are different types of modes. Maybe one mood swings that I'm in a
- 10:22withdrawal mode. If I'm withdraw well, I'm not ready to accept anything from
- 10:26the outside world. Maybe sometimes I'm very rich it I don't want to talk
- 10:31to others, So what happens is we are not ready to talk to others,
- 10:37you know, we are not able to have that self expression. Maybe
- 10:41I'm not ready to open up with others. So what happens is as these
- 10:46all are interlink, it is required that we should be present to the present
- 10:54situation or the scenario so that we have a deep introspection of ourselves. Something
- 11:00which is very difficult in this world is to understand about ourselves well. The
- 11:03question that I have is how could you tell if a person is unwell or
- 11:09have severe mental health? I didn't know. I've heard people say severe mental
- 11:15health? Is there common mental health or mental illness? And is there severe
- 11:20mental illness? Okay? See, how can you tell if somebody is mentally
- 11:28unwill? So there are two wellness. One is physically fit and mentally fit.
- 11:33Physically fit, you know, we have some support system. We have
- 11:37doctors, we have medical fraternity who will help us. Same both with the
- 11:43mental health also, but how can you diagnose it? Is that if you're
- 11:46feeling low continuously, you're not able to come out of your stress. Maybe
- 11:52you're not able to handle your day to day activities. Maybe your two years
- 11:56you're anxious, your stressed out so is okay not to be okay, but
- 12:01I just tell many of my friends, all my colleagues, family members,
- 12:07if you're not feeling okay, it is completely and perfectly all right. It
- 12:11is that understand what is happening inside you. Okay, take a moment.
- 12:16Maybe for example, I can tell you with an example, maybe I reashed
- 12:22from the university and just came home. Hope, like you know, I
- 12:24am a bit stressed out. But let me just relax, understand analyze that.
- 12:31Okay, I'm going through some particular feeling. I'm going through some particular
- 12:35emotion. So first of all, it is required what is that feeling I
- 12:41have, Okay, mishuman to do the root cause analysis. So everything has
- 12:45a root cause analysis, not just that we brush everything on the carpet and
- 12:48we are not acknowledging it, or maybe we are not addressing the issue.
- 12:54So once we do the root cause analysis. Okay, I came late,
- 13:00Okay, I can wait for the meeting. That is fine, Okay,
- 13:03let me first accept it. What happens is the moment you accept the reality,
- 13:11half of the problem is solved because you are ready to address it.
- 13:16Acceptance itself means you're ready to address some issue. Once you're ready to address
- 13:22this issue, then your thinking patient will start. Then your chance of thinking
- 13:28out of the box start once to think out of the box or else maybe
- 13:33once you're able to accept it, then comes the ways. Okay, I'm
- 13:37not well. It is okay not to be Okay, I can I take
- 13:41a help of a mentor can I take a help of a coach? Or
- 13:46maybe I can go to a therapist, counselor psychologists. Then you can think.
- 13:52See. The thing is, most of us we don't actually know that
- 13:56we are mentally or mentally not up to the mark. Yeah, miss,
- 14:03we are so busy in our day to day life. We don't know actually
- 14:07what is happening to us. We know that we are irritated, but I
- 14:09don't know what is the reason. See, I know, I know that
- 14:13I came late home today, but I'm irritated. I don't know the reason.
- 14:16Am I taking a minute to sit back and see what is that happening
- 14:20to me? What is it? Okay, so do a proper diagnosis.
- 14:26Okay, did I had a fight with my colleague or I you know,
- 14:31I had an issue with my family members? What it is? Okay?
- 14:37For example, I had an issue with my one of my colleagues. So
- 14:39what is the issue? What is that it is bothering me? Maybe we
- 14:43can do you know, fight up you one h there is It's very widely
- 14:48used. So what is that it is irritating? You know? Who is
- 14:54that is irritating and anybody else who is influencing you? Is there anyway I
- 15:00can come out of it? And last is how how can when we do
- 15:03this kind of you know analysis, then comes the how? See the problem
- 15:09is we always run behind? How how can I come out of an issue?
- 15:13How is that I can you know make my life beautiful? How is
- 15:16that I can achieve X, Y Z or target? So fine? If
- 15:20you run behind? How we will not get the solution? Think of other
- 15:24maasonies is that being present, all these things will only happen black when we
- 15:31are mentally strong to address ourselves. So the biggest and the biggest computer on
- 15:37this earth is over might and we don't know how to handle it because so
- 15:43many thoughts question. Yeah, I hear some people saying, you know,
- 15:50when at work or when you see individuals, they'll say I'm stressed out and
- 15:56they're talking about work. And then you see, oh, here people say,
- 16:00and I'm burnt out, and then you discover maybe down a road that
- 16:03they've been dealing with maybe some mental help. How could you tell if you're
- 16:07colleague, you know it's stressed out, burnt out or dealing with or living
- 16:14with onset of mental methodies. Yeah. See, if we are not having
- 16:22you know, if we are constantly feeling and in case, if you're constantly
- 16:27feeling nervous, maybe we are unable to think of a solution. Okay,
- 16:33and maybe sometimes it also depends upon the behavior of black. Uh, it
- 16:38actually mental health. You know. The first step to analyze is our behavior?
- 16:45Is my behavior passive? Am I assertive? Or I aggressive? Okay?
- 16:48This is the first question what we need to ask ourselves. In case,
- 16:52if I'm passive, I am I accepting all all the negativity. I'm
- 16:56not able to express my own feelings to am I you know, going into
- 17:02my comfort zone and not coming out of it. Okay? So that is
- 17:07something you know, we need to understand about our passive behavior. Then comes
- 17:12the asset of behavior. Am I able to handle the conflict? What is
- 17:17that it takes for me to express my feelings? Am I opening my feelings?
- 17:21I'm opening up with my friends to you know, explain my issue.
- 17:26See, all the stress comes when we are not able to express ourselves.
- 17:30So expression is the main issue when it comes to mental health. You know,
- 17:37stressed out you asked, you know what about if somebody is stressed out?
- 17:41That means I'm unable to understand my feelings, I'm unable to talk to
- 17:47others. Or maybe my expression is not correct. Okay, maybe I have
- 17:52you know, very less tolerance towards other things. So these are something we
- 17:57need to introspect. So, as I told you passive, there is also
- 18:02assetive behavior, wherein we we don't have a baggage, We tell whatever we
- 18:07want, We express ourselves freely. And the third thing aggressive. When when
- 18:11it comes to aggressive behavior, you have very low tolerance. You cannot wait
- 18:15for others to speak, or we don't give others an opportunity. We just
- 18:22burst out on this, okay. So there is a very very thin line
- 18:26between ascetiveness and aggressiveness. So in acceptive and aggressiveness, we are able to
- 18:33tell our feelings express freely. But when when you are assertive, we are
- 18:40totally in our control. My thoughts, my feelings, and my vocabulary is
- 18:45in my control. When I mean as a aggressiveness, it's totally I am
- 18:49not in my own control. So that is O. That is the nom
- 18:56What do you say? That is a situation when you're out of your control.
- 19:00You don't know what is happening to you. You know what is happening,
- 19:03but you cannot control. So it's all about how we control ourselves,
- 19:08not how we include ourselves in discussions. How are we you know, able
- 19:14to you know, extend our help to others. So there are so many
- 19:18things plucked when it comes many people should we need that? Many people suffer
- 19:23from depression? Is depression also considered mental illness? Yes, depression is also
- 19:32a mental illness. Depression actually when we are able to address it in the
- 19:38very beginning. Okay, See depression is not built up over right. You
- 19:45know, situations that is unfavorable to us and maybe we are unable to come
- 19:49out of it. See it's it's not that. Many are times we try
- 19:53to come out of it, but what happens is we don't know ways and
- 19:56beings to come out of it. Many are times we we know that we
- 20:00are depressed, but we don't want to talk to others. See, there
- 20:03are different permutations and combinations and something. Many times we don't know that we
- 20:08are even depressed. And you know, unfortunately there are many situations black whin
- 20:12people don't know they are depressed. They know that something is wrong with them,
- 20:18but they don't know what's actually happening to them. Some people they are
- 20:25afraid to see a psychiatrist, or maybe they are embarrassed to see a psychiatrist.
- 20:30They don't want nobody to know that they're seeing a psychiatrist. I'm hearing
- 20:34and knowing, and I know you're you're one. People are more comfortable with
- 20:40seeing a life coach. Do you find that happening a lot that they would
- 20:44rather say, a life coach. And there's nothing wrong with seeing a psychiatrist,
- 20:48but for maybe self esteem or maybe their comfort and seeing a life coach.
- 20:53Yeah, see, I'll tell you Black. There is a difference to
- 20:59start with, there is a difference between coaching and counseling. For coaching,
- 21:07counseling is something to deal with your inner self, you know, totally come
- 21:11out of it, and coaching is something that you know that you have a
- 21:15problem. Okay, how is that you will come out of it? What
- 21:18is that I can do? So that I'm able to come out of it.
- 21:21So in a way, the role of psychologist slur life coach is end
- 21:29of the day to help you. It is that in really if you want
- 21:33to just you know, understand in depth, you want to do a proper
- 21:37root cause analysis, you know, completely come out of it, you need
- 21:41a count, you need a counselor in case you have acknowledged that it is
- 21:45an issue you you know you want to go ahead, then life coach.
- 21:48You know, coaching or a coach is a right option. So it includes
- 21:55like you know what the emotional, psychological, that is social mean you know
- 22:00which comes into the picture, or you know how productivity of fruitfully I can
- 22:06leave my life or as what is a contribution I'm just giving to my society.
- 22:12So all these things are there. So yeah, psychologists can help and
- 22:18also a life coach. But if the problem is more on the psychological friend,
- 22:23you need to visit a psychologist, counselor therapist. Maybe if you're able
- 22:27to manage and you want to really work towards about then you can consult a
- 22:33life coach. What age do you see more when it comes to children suffering
- 22:41with I'll say living with mental illness. What age group do you see more?
- 22:48Yeah, yes, see there is no proper age group. Maybe a
- 22:56child in fact of one year also might have an issue. Wow identify christ
- 23:03Yes see they don't know they they will not express. Actually, in psychological
- 23:08terms, they say, you decide your life positioning between zero to five years.
- 23:15By the age of five years, you might have drawn a blueprint of
- 23:19your life. How is it going to do? Okay? Maybe why does
- 23:23the child feel secured with a moment? Why does he cry when you know
- 23:27some wisitor you know takes him simple logic, because they feel uncomfortable. That
- 23:34is, they also have feelings and emotions. It's not that you know,
- 23:37two year kid or three year kid don't have feelings, and it's only that
- 23:41feelings are developed maybe in teenager or adults and or later adulthoodage. No,
- 23:45it is it is developed from very very young age. So everybody of all
- 23:53age groups have issues. See, maybe kids have a problem a certain kind
- 24:00of issues. Maybe you know some security issues, or maybe you know they're
- 24:06afraid of strangers. They have their own issues. Maybe when you're in your
- 24:10early teens, you know, there are a lot of biological changes. There
- 24:14are so many hormonal changes. What happens you know how to address, how
- 24:18to address them. Maybe you have happier pressure, you you have you know,
- 24:25society pressures. Maybe there is some kind of strict parenting, you know,
- 24:30or too much of nurturing. Maybe behavioral behavioral patterns, behavioral changes,
- 24:34maybe when you get into your career. So problem persist every at every level.
- 24:41At elderly age, also they have you know, identify access. Maybe
- 24:45somebody admit forties. Usually they have issue that you know, all of this
- 24:52sudden the life has changed. So problems are it every every level. It
- 24:56is that proper. We need to diagnose ourselves. It is that we need
- 25:03to you know. See maybe for kids, it's the role of parenting.
- 25:07So parenting plays a major role until the kid is twinned. So there is
- 25:12a famous Yeah, I wanted to add something. There is a famous for
- 25:18what they tell us parenting is a twenty year project. Everybody without experience jump
- 25:23into that, you know, and you have to go through the process.
- 25:27So especially parenting also plays a major role in upbringing or kids. What we
- 25:37want we're talking about parenting, and you mentioned that at one years old they
- 25:42can possibly be diagnosed with do you believe that children are born with mental mental
- 25:49illness, or do you think it's something that was inherited from one of the
- 25:52parents and it cannot be inherited from one of the parents. See his there
- 26:00is a history which plays some role. It's not that you will inherent Okay,
- 26:06So in case if there are some there is a history in your family,
- 26:12that will also be taken into consideration. It's not that one year old
- 26:17one year old child has a depression. Maybe I mean to say, they
- 26:22have feelings and emotions, they don't know how to express it. So it
- 26:26depends from Uh, sometimes it depends on the situation or the society where you
- 26:32are, how your upbringing is, you know, how is your parenting style?
- 26:37You know, what is that your thought? There are so many things,
- 26:41Because maybe if I'm scared of scared of reptiles, that means I had
- 26:48some past history where where I was not given proper confidence how to handle that.
- 26:55Maybe sometimes I'm scared of dogs, Okay. Maybe in my child I
- 27:00might have encountered such a situation where I didn't know how to deal with it,
- 27:04so it continued. Maybe I have a phobia of math. You know,
- 27:10I don't want to solve problems. So it's like that it's something which
- 27:15is not addressed in the initial stage will lead to your habits, your beliefs.
- 27:22So there is also a belief system which plays a major role in our
- 27:26personality formation. As I have told there are different kinds of behaviors, there
- 27:32is also a belief system because if in case, if you believe something is
- 27:36correct in your thought process, you think that is the truth and we live
- 27:41in it. And sometimes we argue that I believes are the reality or else
- 27:48it's the truth for us, maybe not for somebody else. So here it
- 27:52is important how strong is your belief system? You know, how strong is
- 28:00your personality? You know, how are you able to manage your conflicts?
- 28:06So what kind of lifestyle what kind of lifestyle changes can help someone who's living
- 28:11with mental illness? What kind of lifestyle changes should they make? Is it
- 28:18always medication or or is it just therapy? I guess it may depend on
- 28:23what type of mental illness that they're living with. Okay, yes, to
- 28:30start with, there are some examples of wherein your good mental health includes.
- 28:36You know, first is feeling good about yourself and your abilities. That means
- 28:41I am confident about myself and I trust my abilities. See, everybody will
- 28:48have strengths and weaknesses. Okay, so it is always good you work on
- 28:52your strengths. Okay, weaknesses will be automatically covered. So there is uh,
- 29:00there is a logical statement which I'll say. You know, for example,
- 29:04if you ask me what is your greatest strength, my greatest strength is
- 29:07my family. So at the same time, Mike, this weakness also is
- 29:11my family. So it is always it is good that you work on your
- 29:17strengths so that your meatails are automatically addressed. So one thing is feel good.
- 29:25You know, have have always you know, start with a positive note.
- 29:30You can do it, you know. In that way, let me
- 29:34say you affirmations, you know, like I'm strong, I'm beautiful, I
- 29:37can achieve it. Okay, I'm unique, I'm a wonderful person. So
- 29:42what happens is if you're having that kind of positive thought process or you know,
- 29:48positive affirmations automatically, you're thinking patternships till you know, till that time
- 29:56I was feeling low. The moment I say I'm strong and powerful, you
- 30:00know, you can see what kind of expression changes in your body. So
- 30:06it is all about feeling good about yourself and your abilities. And next thing
- 30:11is you should be able to cope with difficult and stressful situations. So you
- 30:18get your Yeah, so you get someone to acknowledge that they are living with
- 30:26mental illness and the in therapy, you are seeing a psychiatrist and they're continuing.
- 30:30Then the talk of medication is introduced and they refuse in medication. How
- 30:37do you encourage them that the medication would benefit their mental illness. Yes,
- 30:45so it's medication is useful and also plays a major role like your psychological booster.
- 30:56Maybe I'm done with fever. The moment I take a tablet, I
- 31:00feel okay. Now I have taken a tablet, I will get well soon.
- 31:03It's a hope of free So at the same time with the medication,
- 31:07it is also important that you have good lifestyle habits, you know, having
- 31:12healthy relationships. That is something which is very very important. What do you
- 31:18mean by health? Healthy relationship means where you're able to express freely what you
- 31:23are feeling okay and in case if you have any disagreements, sit down and
- 31:30resolve it. So having health relationship will be a good example of you know,
- 31:37good mental health. Maybe you enjoy your life and activities and you know,
- 31:41your feelings are in control. Okay. So and also maybe you you
- 31:48just connect, connect with something. You know, if your photography is hobby,
- 31:55no practice your hobby, so that is your stress burst. Maybe music
- 31:59is my stress urson, Just listen to music. It's not that you know,
- 32:05I listen for one hour, who was maybe five ten minutes. If
- 32:09it's stressed, I'm having a lot of stress, office stress. Just come
- 32:14out, take a break, just move away from the situation, relax,
- 32:17take a break for five minutes, listen to your favorite music, you know,
- 32:22and doing this with these are called mindfulness. Mindfulness techniques. You know,
- 32:27eating is also mindfulness technique. You know, have you ever experienced that
- 32:31you like chocolate? Just close your eyes, you know, and enjoy the
- 32:37chocolate. Enjoy that moment. So what happens is when you're enjoying that moment,
- 32:43you're living in that moment, so nothing is lingering in your mind,
- 32:47so you're able to come out of it. So that is what they call
- 32:52acceptance in psychological acceptance. So accepting life as it is is a way for
- 33:00accepting the situations and you know, coming out positively and leading up positively mentally,
- 33:07you know, stable life. So savena, how does mental health because
- 33:14I know some people they're up all night. Some people just can't sleep.
- 33:20How does the mental health affect a person's sleep? Does it manifest physically?
- 33:28Yes? See, Uh, what happens is some people say that they're unable
- 33:32to sleep. Okay, So in that there are three four aspects. The
- 33:37first thing will be, I may am I connecting myself? Okay? Is
- 33:45that I'm having not having enough sleep or I'm oversleeping? Or is how is
- 33:51my quality of the sleep? So let me say you sleep is very very
- 33:55essential. It comes to mental health because our brain also require rest. They
- 34:00need to rest and so that they can process our emotions. You know,
- 34:04they can process our memories and they can come out of it. So good
- 34:10sleep, good food. It also related to your eating habits. It's not
- 34:15only sleep. Okay, if you're eating, your eating habits are very good.
- 34:21Okay, you take proper quantity of you know, whatever the ratio like
- 34:27whitment, minerals, carbohydrates, everything, if it is in a proper ratio.
- 34:31And how is your workout? Are you walking? Are you doing physical
- 34:35exercise? Sometimes the day we are at home and when we don't do anything,
- 34:39we are not tired, and we cannot expect that we sleep. We
- 34:43have a sound sleep. So it is a proper lifestyle. So sleep thumbs
- 34:49in the proper lifestyle. It's not only that you should just concentrate it.
- 34:53We should concentrate. You know, how many hours hours of exercise you do?
- 34:59You know, what is it? Quality time you spent, quality times
- 35:02you spent with your loved ones? Okay, what does it? Activities you
- 35:07do? You know, activities in the core, activities you do on day
- 35:12in and day out. So all these things actually matters a lot. We've
- 35:22been through a pandemic and there were some people just couldn't deal with the after
- 35:31effects and going through the process. I know, we all went through it,
- 35:36and in one way or another, some people walked away with trying to
- 35:38resume their life as it was, which was difficult for many for those.
- 35:44We were seeing more people with challenges with mental health since COVID. How great
- 35:50are we for the next surge of COVID that's coming or that they say it's
- 35:53coming. Okay, See, COVID has thought as many things. How we
- 36:02can you know, remotely handle ourselves? How is that you know, I
- 36:12can come out of a situation because there were situations that we did not come
- 36:15out of for home for many months. You know, we were stressed out
- 36:19because we are not meeting people. It also taught us that human being is
- 36:23a social being. Yeah, so it is important and that life is uncertain.
- 36:35What Covid thought us, This life is uncertain? How can I because
- 36:39we never know what is going to happen tomorrow? So how can I not
- 36:51not worried about what my holiness? How is that I get and you know,
- 36:58come out of the situation? And there there are many many challenges.
- 37:02But it also helped thought us how important is the mental health? There were
- 37:14many less people who were speaking about mental health, but what happened. Your
- 37:19mental health is very important than your physical gun health. If your ment the
- 37:29li fit your physically fit maybe like somebody is. Yeah, how can health
- 37:37policy and research help us create a There are a health care system everybody,
- 37:45most of us during the pandemic, we suffered with you know, mental health.
- 37:49You know it is important that you know you seek help. Okay,
- 37:53there are many many resources available for us. You know, there are therapy,
- 37:59is there is medication, there are support groups. You know you can
- 38:02take care and take help of the tips. You know, first thing is
- 38:07make sure that you're talking to someone at least okay, like you know,
- 38:14to went out your feelings whenlation will solve ninety percent of your problem. Maybe
- 38:20sometimes we were very eager to share some good news. The moment we share,
- 38:23we feel better. Okay, maybe we wanted to talk to someone.
- 38:28So there is a research that says that talking to someone you trust will really
- 38:34help you to you know, acknowledge yourself about your feelings. Once you acknowledge
- 38:39it will help you to cope with your what you say, stress and anxiety,
- 38:45and you stay connected. Even though if you're living in isolation, there
- 38:51are other ways and means by which you can connect to others. There is
- 38:54on you can connect online, maybe you can, you know, there is
- 38:59social there is video chart, there is phone calls. You know, there
- 39:02is there are a lot of people who are ready to give us support,
- 39:06like you know, online support groups, and now I heard about social media.
- 39:13There was something on the news recently that some people were given advice as
- 39:17far as how to deal with certain mental illness. You know, when this
- 39:22happened to me, this is what I did, but it wasn't sound advice.
- 39:27You know, I are you saying today it's best for them to speak
- 39:31with someone who's reputable over somebody who's experienced mental illness exactly. See. The
- 39:38first thing is if you trust, if you have good mentors, if you
- 39:43have your parents somebody I mean, or the people you trust to talk to
- 39:45them or else. It is also a good idea that you talk to a
- 39:50logist, a counselor, or a therapist, maybe a coach. Okay,
- 39:55So always it is good that we go to a professional. It's not that
- 40:00you know, maybe uh see, sometimes we like to share with our friends.
- 40:04There's nothing wrong in it. But in case if something which is above
- 40:07and beyond, if even they also cannot help you, it is always good
- 40:12you take help off of professional. And it is very important that you also
- 40:19take care of your health. Physical health also, which is very very important.
- 40:22Maybe that regular exercise, you know, getting enough sleep, Okay,
- 40:28all these things also help you. This is great advice. Thank you so
- 40:32much. Could our viewers and listeners get in touch with you and tap into

- 41:09It can be difficult to find the things that will help you, as
- 41:14different things tell different people. It's important to be open to a range of
- 41:19approaches and to be committed to finding the right help and to continue to be
