- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Let's go to Pam in New Jersey. Pam, how you doing?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Hi. Yeah, I've got another airport, John Wayne Airport.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Oh, you're right. You're right. Airport's named for celebrities. Very few.
- 0:23Speaker 1: There's a John Lennon Airport, a Bob Hope Airport, a
- 0:27Speaker 1: John Wayne Airport. Absolutely. Very good. Yeah, thanks for that.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I forgot. As we mentioned before, they have now voted
- 0:36Speaker 1: unanimously to name the Nashville airport after Dolly Parton. A
- 0:40Speaker 1: lot of airports named after presidents and senators and politicians.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Very few after celebrities. Let's go to Mara in Nevada. Mara,
- 0:48Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 0:49Speaker 3: So good. Thank you, God. Mark, I'm curious to know.
- 0:54Speaker 3: These women jurors and the ladies in the pink jackets
- 0:57Speaker 3: showing all this compassion for Lindsay, who her lawyer calls
- 1:02Speaker 3: a wonderful mother. I would love to know if they
- 1:05Speaker 3: would let her babysit.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Well, no, I don't think so. Very good point. This
- 1:12Speaker 1: lawyer deserves a lot of credit for being able to
- 1:14Speaker 1: get this stuff out of his mouth with a straight face.
- 1:17Speaker 1: He said, I know Lindsay. She's like a daughter. She's
- 1:20Speaker 1: a wonderful mother. Except for the choking her kids to death.
- 1:24Speaker 1: She's a wonderful mother. But this guy, this lawyer is
- 1:28Speaker 1: 75 years old, end of his career. He doesn't have
- 1:32Speaker 1: a good track record. He hasn't won a lot of
- 1:33Speaker 1: big cases. He needs some good note to go on,
- 1:38Speaker 1: go out on. And this will be it. Let's go
- 1:40Speaker 1: to John in Manhattan. John, how you doing? Hello, John. John,
- 1:49Speaker 1: what happened? You fall down a well? We can hardly
- 1:51Speaker 1: hear you.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I'm not in the well.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I'm here in Manhattan.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You sound like you're 20 feet from the phone.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Well, it's a speakerphone.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Well, there's millions of, several million people are listening. How
- 2:05Speaker 1: many people have to be listening before you'll actually pick
- 2:07Speaker 1: up the phone and walk into it? One.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I have the invitation.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Ziggy, you know.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Ziggy, right?
- 2:15Speaker 1: Well, wait, if you're going to get that far away,
- 2:16Speaker 1: hang on. Let me get that far away.
- 2:19Speaker 5: I have the invitation.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'll go far away, too.
- 2:21Speaker 2: How's that?
- 2:22Speaker 3: I have the invitation.
- 2:24Speaker 1: To what?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Her name was requested to be deleted by DJT.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Ah, there you go. Anybody know what the hell she's
- 2:32Speaker 1: talking about? Where's that Google translator? Why was.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I don't want to call him the president, but DJT
- 2:42Speaker 4: requested you to be deleted.
- 2:44Speaker 1: All right, let's try to translate this.
- 2:45Speaker 5: DJT is Donald Trump.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Okay, I think you better hang up the phone. You
- 2:55Speaker 1: better hang up before the attendants catch you making this call. So,
- 3:00Speaker 1: we've got to get unlisted numbers. Hey, what happened? There's
- 3:04Speaker 1: no calls.
- 3:04Speaker 4: 800.
- 3:04Speaker 1: What's the number?
- 3:05Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Call us.
- 3:06Speaker 5: 800-321-0710.
- 3:12Speaker 2: 0-7-10.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Hey, we were talking about Apple before and their new products,
- 3:19Speaker 1: the foldable phone. They're getting attacked by, especially Samsung has
- 3:23Speaker 1: taken out ads against them, saying, well, they've just taken
- 3:26Speaker 1: our left. They're warming over our leftovers. They're copying us.
- 3:29Speaker 1: And I see some people picking up on that. Look
- 3:31Speaker 1: at Apple. They're copying Samsung with the foldable phone. Just
- 3:35Speaker 1: to correct the record, Apple always... always waits for other
- 3:41Speaker 1: companies to come out with stuff, new technologies, new products,
- 3:45Speaker 1: before they do it. They always let somebody else do
- 3:48Speaker 1: it first. And then they come along and do it
- 3:52Speaker 1: much better. So, for instance, the iPhone was not the
- 3:56Speaker 1: first smartphone. There was the Palm Trio. There were a
- 3:58Speaker 1: bunch of smartphones. And Apple watches these companies with their smartphones.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And then they just come out and make the ultimate one.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And iPad was not the first tablet. Remember, Vision Pro
- 4:10Speaker 1: made the, well, iPad was, there were plenty of tablets.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Apple watches that. Then they come out with the best
- 4:18Speaker 1: tablet of all. Same thing with the Vision Pro. That
- 4:22Speaker 1: was not the first reality, mixed reality headset. And the
- 4:26Speaker 1: list goes on and on. Every product they made, they
- 4:28Speaker 1: let somebody else make it first, and then they perfect it.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Let's go to Tim in Hartsdale. Tim, how you doing?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Hi, how are you doing? Yeah, I was called with
- 4:38Speaker 2: another celebrity airport.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Of course, you're right. Absolutely. Louis Armstrong was from New Orleans. Pops. Yeah, Pops.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Lived in Queens while he was a big star. But, yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 1: you're right. Absolutely. Okay, thanks. That's a good one. Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 1: celebrity airports. Very few. John Lennon Airport, Liverpool. John Wayne Airport,
- 5:03Speaker 1: Orange County. Bob Hope Airport, Burbank. There will now be
- 5:07Speaker 1: a Dolly Parton Airport in Nashville, Tennessee. Let's go to
- 5:11Speaker 1: Eric in New Jersey. Eric, how are you doing?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Hey, Mark. Good morning. Good show, as always. Thanks. Listen,
- 5:17Speaker 2: as far as the phones go, I mean, I've always
- 5:19Speaker 2: had an Android phone. I just purchased one a month ago,
- 5:22Speaker 2: the Samsung Z Folding 8. It is fantastic.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And you can see it in the daylight.
- 5:30Speaker 2: You can see it in the daylight, not like the
- 5:32Speaker 2: other phones I had. I'm 74, and I'm still figuring
- 5:36Speaker 2: this thing out. I have so many things to do.
- 5:37Speaker 2: My daughter helped me set it up. I'm tech savvy,
- 5:40Speaker 2: but I love it. I love it.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Android's a good phone, but when you pick up an
- 5:45Speaker 1: iPhone and hold it, don't you feel the difference? Hardware's better.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tiny.
- 5:50Speaker 1: The hardware's better.
- 5:51Speaker 2: This opens up to a 4x4, almost like a mini
- 5:54Speaker 2: tablet also. Or it's just a standard. It's a good
- 5:58Speaker 2: phone for a price.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Now that's a good point. Yeah, if you're older and
- 6:02Speaker 1: you need the letters bigger, the tablet, the foldable phone,
- 6:05Speaker 1: much better for you. Let's go to Greg Long Island. Greg,
- 6:09Speaker 1: how you doing? Hi, Mark.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Wanted to talk real quick about Tiger Woods' case.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:15Speaker 5: I'm concerned about the idea that he can get better
- 6:20Speaker 5: by going off into anonymity in a hidden place and
- 6:24Speaker 5: get better and come back, and the judge.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Thinks he's doing his job.
- 6:28Speaker 5: What Tiger really needs, if I may say, having done
- 6:31Speaker 5: this myself as a judge, is to put Tiger and
- 6:35Speaker 5: people of similar cases in what's known as a drug court,
- 6:39Speaker 5: where they have a team assigned to them, a probation officer,
- 6:44Speaker 5: a drug counselor, and they report back to the court
- 6:47Speaker 5: in person every couple of weeks. And the judge makes
- 6:51Speaker 5: a determination of whether the sentence should be imposed or
- 6:55Speaker 5: held further in abeyance until he makes further improvement. That
- 6:59Speaker 5: would incentivize him to succeed because he's on the path
- 7:03Speaker 5: where 85% or more of the people who do it
- 7:08Speaker 5: his way and the way that this judge is doing it,
- 7:11Speaker 5: have relapses. They fall apart. It's a path to oblivion,
- 7:17Speaker 5: the way they're doing it and the way most drug
- 7:20Speaker 5: treatment is done.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That makes a lot of sense. It's a very good idea.
- 7:23Speaker 1: You were a judge. That makes a lot of sense.
- 7:25Speaker 1: But remember, this is Florida where things are a little screwy,
- 7:27Speaker 1: especially in their courts, and Tiger's a powerful guy and
- 7:31Speaker 1: can maneuver around. Where are you in Long Island?
- 7:34Speaker 5: I'm on North Fork out in Jamesport.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Whoa, you're way out there. Very good.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Great places to eat, by the way. Cliff's Rendezvous.
- 7:45Speaker 4: We have a lot.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Of other places that I think if you get out here,
- 7:49Speaker 5: you'd love it. It's where God's country is still holding on.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I know, but it's so far away. You go to
- 7:57Speaker 1: Nassau County, you've got a million great places to eat.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Why do I need to go all the way out
- 8:01Speaker 1: to Cliff's Rendezvous?
- 8:03Speaker 5: Because you have the beautiful Long Island sounds a couple
- 8:06Speaker 5: of miles one side And a beautiful Peconic Bay estuary
- 8:11Speaker 5: system on the other side.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Oh, right. But you go to Oyster Bay, you've got
- 8:14Speaker 1: a beautiful Long Island sound right there.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but do you have farm country? We're one of
- 8:20Speaker 4: the leading farming counties still in the state. And we've
- 8:25Speaker 4: got a lot of that farming preserved for good in
- 8:29Speaker 4: the development rights program right on the north and south forks.
- 8:32Speaker 4: South Fork is different.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I understand.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You should be on the Chamber of Commerce. You're a
- 8:37Speaker 1: good salesman for that. All right. Great call, Greg. Thanks
- 8:39Speaker 1: for calling. I don't want any farm country, do I? No,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't think so. Oh, when we come back, we'll
- 8:45Speaker 1: talk to the greatest columnist in America, Michael Goodwin. He'll
- 8:48Speaker 1: be with us next.
