Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
- 0:04Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word, Finding purpose
- 0:11Speaker 1: in the Valley. Finding Purpose in the Valley. Psalms twenty
- 0:17Speaker 1: three and four says, even though I walk through the
- 0:21Speaker 1: Valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil,
- 0:24Speaker 1: for you are with me, your rod, your staff, they
- 0:28Speaker 1: comfort me. We all love the part of Psalms twenty
- 0:32Speaker 1: three where David says, the Lord is my shepherd. He
- 0:35Speaker 1: makes me to lie down and gring pastures. He leaves
- 0:38Speaker 1: me beside the steel waters. Those words paint such a
- 0:43Speaker 1: peaceful picture rest, refreshment, blessing. But then David makes a shift.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Even though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow
- 0:56Speaker 1: of Death, he is reminding us that the same shepherd
- 0:59Speaker 1: who leads us into seasons of peace is also the
- 1:03Speaker 1: one who leads us through the valley the valley. Seasons
- 1:09Speaker 1: aren't easy. They may come in the form of disappointment.
- 1:14Speaker 1: They may come in the form of a closed door,
- 1:17Speaker 1: a health battle, or a sudden loss of something dear. Naturally,
- 1:21Speaker 1: we wonder why why this valley? Lord? But here's the key.
- 1:26Speaker 1: If it wasn't ultimately for your good your good shepherd
- 1:31Speaker 1: would not have allowed it. God never leads us to
- 1:35Speaker 1: a place that doesn't serve his greater purpose. That valley
- 1:40Speaker 1: is not the end of your story. It's a passageway.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It's not designed to break you, but to build you.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It's not meant to weaken you, but to strengthen you.
- 1:49Speaker 1: You may not see it yet, but there's a blessing
- 1:52Speaker 1: hidden in the valley. Perhaps God is deepening your faith,
- 1:55Speaker 1: positioning you for greater influence, or preparing you for doors.
- 2:00Speaker 1: If you couldn't have walked through on your own without
- 2:03Speaker 1: that very experience. So instead of fighting your valley truths,
- 2:09Speaker 1: choose to trust your shepherd, stay in courage and expectant.
- 2:14Speaker 1: David didn't say I'll stay in the valley. He said
- 2:17Speaker 1: I'll walk through the valley you're passing through, and on
- 2:22Speaker 1: the other side there are green pastures. On the other
- 2:25Speaker 1: side there are steel waters waiting again. In fact, often
- 2:30Speaker 1: after the valley comes, a season of promotion comes, a
- 2:34Speaker 1: season of new opportunities come. So today, instead of asking
- 2:41Speaker 1: why this valley, start declaring, Lord, I trust you, Lord,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm looking for the blessing in this place. Father, Thank you.
- 2:53Speaker 1: The no valley that we walk through is wasted. Thank
- 2:56Speaker 1: you that you are with us in the dark places,
- 2:59Speaker 1: that us, that you're comforting us, that you're protecting us. God,
- 3:03Speaker 1: we trust that you are using every challenge to work
- 3:06Speaker 1: for our good, to strengthen us, and to move us forward. God,
- 3:10Speaker 1: we declare that even in the valley, we will not fear,
- 3:13Speaker 1: but we will look for the blessing in Jesus' name. Hey,
- 3:18Speaker 1: now that's your word for today. I want you to
- 3:20Speaker 1: take that apply it to your everyday life and you
- 3:23Speaker 1: continue to be encouraged and inspired as you find purpose
- 3:28Speaker 1: in your valley. With me, your girls, Sherry Mackie
