- 0:16Carmen Lezeth: Is this a personal thing Like?
- 0:19Cynthia Ruiz: you know we're live right.
- 0:20Cynthia Ruiz: You know the aunt in New Orleans passed away yesterday.
- 0:24Carmen Lezeth: I'm so sorry, I don't know who that is.
- 0:26Carmen Lezeth: Is that the Tina person?
- 0:28Carmen Lezeth: Aunt Ruby, oh, oh, that's an important person to her.
- 0:31Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, yeah, she was 101 though, so I mean, she looked like.
- 0:35Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, 101.
- 0:37Carmen Lezeth: See, that's some some, some good life living.
- 0:40Carmen Lezeth: That family has some genes, dog man, they do, they do.
- 0:44Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying, well, I'm sorry for your loss because you know them right.
- 0:48Carmen Lezeth: I mean, you know Miss Ruby, right?
- 0:51Carmen Lezeth: Is that her name?
- 0:51Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I call her Aunt Ruby.
- 0:53Carmen Lezeth: Aunt Ruby, okay, I'm just Okay.
- 0:55Carmen Lezeth: So people are all like what is wrong with Carmen?
- 0:57Carmen Lezeth: I thought that was her cousin.
- 0:58Carmen Lezeth: So just to reiterate how things work in the Carmen Bush family Bush, because we ain't got no tree.
- 1:05Carmen Lezeth: Okay, there are people related to Cynthia who are not really related to me and I've never met them.
- 1:12Carmen Lezeth: She's not really related to me either.
- 1:13Carmen Lezeth: Oh, okay, she's related to my sisters.
- 1:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, okay, you know what we're not going to do the whole 23andMe Bush weed thingamajiggy, it's not a tree, it's a bush.
- 1:25Carmen Lezeth: Well, okay, well, I'm sorry for your loss of your Aunt Ruby, but 101 is amazing, yeah, amazing, and from what I understood, she had everything together.
- 1:36Carmen Lezeth: I mean, she was, she sure did.
- 1:37Cynthia Ruiz: She sure did.
- 1:38Cynthia Ruiz: That's the best part.
- 1:40Carmen Lezeth: She was a boy.
- 1:41Cynthia Ruiz: And her son spoiled her and made sure she had everything.
- 1:43Cynthia Ruiz: So she was good, she was in good hands.
- 1:47Carmen Lezeth: This is why I should have had children.
- 1:48Carmen Lezeth: This is my only thing I'm worried about.
- 1:50Carmen Lezeth: That's why I'm like I love all my God children.
- 1:54Carmen Lezeth: You know you, my heart, you know all my favorite.
- 1:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying it because I want to be like 95 and be thought of in the way in which these family members were thought of.
- 2:03Carmen Lezeth: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:04Carmen Lezeth: Like yeah, yeah.
- 2:06Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, how are you doing?
- 2:07Carmen Lezeth: How was your week?
- 2:08Rick Costa: So all right, Work was not too bad.
- 2:10Rick Costa: Mom's different story, but you know that is what it is.
- 2:13Rick Costa: So so yeah, but work wasn't wasn't too bad, at least it was.
- 2:17Rick Costa: It was an easier work week, so that was good.
- 2:19Rick Costa: I want to know if Alma, if she, got some ice cream.
- 2:23Carmen Lezeth: Oh well, we'll wait for her to answer that ice cream.
- 2:30Rick Costa: I said ice cream.
- 2:31Carmen Lezeth: I know that was such a great clip.
- 2:33Carmen Lezeth: Actually, there were quite a few clips that got a lot of interest from people that I've never noticed before, and that one was one of the biggest ones, you know.
- 2:40Carmen Lezeth: So we, we definitely want to give a shout out to Chris Gales, who we love, and I was so appreciative when he's on the show, but even just, you know, chatting with him back and forth on Instagram or whatever, he's just always so kind and pleasant and always gives a shout out to my show.
- 2:57Carmen Lezeth: I just think that's nice.
- 2:59Carmen Lezeth: I mean, it's absolutely unnecessary, but I appreciate it so much, you know, but he brings me such joy as well.
- 3:05Rick Costa: He's a wealth of knowledge.
- 3:06Rick Costa: With trivia I was like, oh wow, this dude knows a lot.
- 3:08Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 3:09Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so I know.
- 3:10Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm sorry, technical question, everyone technical.
- 3:13Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, I now have.
- 3:15Carmen Lezeth: I can see way too much of all the guests on this side.
- 3:18Carmen Lezeth: Oh, clearly not enough, because I was missing my sister girl I was like sorry, how are you?
- 3:30Carmen Lezeth: I'm good.
- 3:31Carmen Lezeth: How are you?
- 3:31Carmen Lezeth: Wow, how long were you down there.
- 3:33Carmen Lezeth: You know what my mic is, where your face was.
- 3:38Andrea Nunez: Not that long, but I was just about to leave a message and be like yo hey why, don't we get darkness?
- 3:45Carmen Lezeth: Are we in?
- 3:45Carmen Lezeth: It's very sexy.
- 3:46Carmen Lezeth: I was going to ask you.
- 3:49Andrea Nunez: I have a, I got a.
- 3:50Andrea Nunez: I got one of the.
- 3:51Andrea Nunez: Well, okay, my light's not plugged in, so oh, it looks like it's out of space behind her.
- 3:56Andrea Nunez: Circle things.
- 3:57Rick Costa: Okay Circle ring light.
- 3:58Andrea Nunez: Yes, thank you, so I'm just using that and my other light is unplugged, so that was so cute, one of those circle things, yeah, so it's always great to have the light.
- 4:14Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I think we all have that on us.
- 4:15Carmen Lezeth: Well, me and Rick do, I know.
- 4:16Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if Cynthia does.
- 4:18Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia just has beautiful lighting.
- 4:20Carmen Lezeth: She's her aura as she walks in the room, right, but you do have to have light on behind you, not behind you but above you.
- 4:28Andrea Nunez: I'm just saying I don't have a light in here other than the one that's on my desk.
- 4:32Andrea Nunez: That is currently unplugged, so this is it girl.
- 4:34Andrea Nunez: Okay, well, I think it was like really intense interviews where you like ask me questions and do like a really big closeup and I'm like right, hey, but your clip that I did and see this is cause you're not on social media.
- 4:48Carmen Lezeth: The clip I did with you and we talked about student loans, so much information, so much people and people DM me oh really, yeah, I was surprised.
- 4:56Carmen Lezeth: People sending me direct messages like somebody from UVM was like there's Jeff, who is one of my Facebook friends.
- 5:03Carmen Lezeth: Somebody went to college with the UVM and he was talking about how he thinks UVM did a great job with grants and helping people and I was like that's, that's your experience.
- 5:13Carmen Lezeth: I'm so happy for you.
- 5:14Carmen Lezeth: That's off to them.
- 5:17Andrea Nunez: No, I was like so glad you're not already $40,000.
- 5:22Carmen Lezeth: Exactly so, yeah, so it really sparked some conversations and thank you for doing the private.
- 5:29Andrea Nunez: Well, I mean, it's something that a whole lot of people are dealing with and unfortunately, our stories are not unique.
- 5:35Carmen Lezeth: So it's you know, they're not and for people are wondering what we're talking about.
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: Andrei and I did a private lounge last week and I posted it on the podcast and also it's on YouTube.
- 5:45Carmen Lezeth: I forget the name of it, but I put Andrea's picture in mine up there so you could see it and you could go check it out.
- 5:50Carmen Lezeth: We were going to talk about makeup tips.
- 5:52Carmen Lezeth: We kind of got to it.
- 5:56Andrea Nunez: I don't let you kept saying that, but it was.
- 5:58Andrea Nunez: The question that you sent me was what would you tell your 20 year old self?
- 6:02Andrea Nunez: And you said it could be anything.
- 6:04Carmen Lezeth: And then, of course, would include sunscreen and all of that sort of thing, but so there was a time it's happened several times, but the one I remember the most was Andrea was at my other apartment years and years and years ago and I don't know I had bread out and I was trying to cut bread with, like a regular, what I think is a regular knife, because I am I know it's going to be shocking to so many people I am not a cook, I don't, I don't want to cook, I don't even care about cooking at all Right, and she came over to me and she was like Carmen, I don't care what you do.
- 6:38Carmen Lezeth: You said it gently and kindly.
- 6:40Carmen Lezeth: You said it gently and kindly because I was taking this beautiful, fresh loaf of bread from wherever she had bought it and I was, and it was smushing and she goes I don't care what you do, you need to use a what's it called a serrated knife, right?
- 6:53Carmen Lezeth: So rated serrated knife, I rated knife to cut bread.
- 6:56Carmen Lezeth: Always she's like I don't care if you use one of the dinner ones, whatever, but never use this big like machete knife, whatever the hell.
- 7:02Carmen Lezeth: That's knife.
- 7:03Carmen Lezeth: And here's the thing, like I mean, of course, duh, like of course that makes sense, but I never knew that.
- 7:14Carmen Lezeth: Like it's one of those things where I have these moments where I realize I really didn't grow up with a mom or with somebody teaching me even the small like and I know everyone was listening to this or watching this is like okay, you're a fucking idiot.
- 7:28Carmen Lezeth: But so many times that's happened with you, andrea, that you would show me how to do different things.
- 7:35Carmen Lezeth: So that's why I think I had come up with and then we were talking about eyebrows the other day because even though I know my eyebrows, I mean, now I know my eyebrows are fine, I'm not going to have eyebrows look fabulous to.
- 7:44Andrea Nunez: I was thinking about your eyebrows even before you brought this up, so I just want to tell you.
- 7:49Carmen Lezeth: So here's the thing I you know, I think my eyebrows are horrible.
- 7:53Carmen Lezeth: But after Andrea explained some things to me about eyebrows and what she went through and what she does and why she does it, I was like, okay, I'm fine, I'm fine, I, I'm good, I'm just gonna put a little fillet in.
- 8:03Carmen Lezeth: And we done, we done.
- 8:04Carmen Lezeth: So that's why that came up.
- 8:06Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that was too long winded, I'm sorry.
- 8:10Rick Costa: I think we all have things like that, that a lot of people would say you don't know how to do that, like it's common sense to them.
- 8:16Rick Costa: But like we had a flood in my house practically nose arc, I jokingly say because one of the pipes busted from from freezing and then when unfroze pipe busted and I thought I knew where to turn all the water things off and I'm twisting everything.
- 8:29Rick Costa: And then I literally had to call a fireman because I was like I don't know what to do.
- 8:33Rick Costa: And then I found out it's just this teeny little switch, you just gonna turn a quarter.
- 8:36Rick Costa: And I'm like are you see?
- 8:38Rick Costa: Why did my father never tell me this?
- 8:40Rick Costa: Yeah, like, come on, parents.
- 8:42Andrea Nunez: Step it up.
- 8:43Andrea Nunez: I'm gonna build a small fire out back, just to make this worth your time.
- 8:48Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, there's a cat in the tree over there.
- 8:51Carmen Lezeth: I've, I've, I've done that before.
- 8:55Carmen Lezeth: Rick, I didn't know either, so don't feel bad, but like I mean, if you don't know, you don't know.
- 9:01Andrea Nunez: Yeah, everyone has those things.
- 9:02Andrea Nunez: If you don't know, you don't know.
- 9:04Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but I felt so grateful, like to and like.
- 9:07Carmen Lezeth: I remember you thinking I was over the top, crazy psyched about learning it, but still, it still sticks with me today.
- 9:14Carmen Lezeth: It's still a thing you know.
- 9:16Carmen Lezeth: So I'm going to segue into this other thing, because this just happened to me this week.
- 9:19Carmen Lezeth: It was one of the questions I sent, which was you know, have something to talk about work related, not a personal, and something that gave you joy.
- 9:26Carmen Lezeth: So I was starting to a friend today not today, I think, it was Saturday or Sunday on the phone.
- 9:31Carmen Lezeth: He called me and everyone knows, first of all, I talk a lot, but secondly, more importantly, I write long ass emails.
- 9:37Carmen Lezeth: If you work with me, I will send you an email and you will have all the information.
- 9:42Carmen Lezeth: You need not to bother me for the rest of the fucking day to do whatever it is you need to do.
- 9:45Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to apologize for that.
- 9:47Carmen Lezeth: I speak the way I write.
- 9:48Carmen Lezeth: I write the way I speak.
- 9:50Carmen Lezeth: It's very easy for me and I type really fast, okay.
- 9:53Carmen Lezeth: However, when you're talking to a friend especially men who have no patience when you're having a conversation, what, sorry, rick, he's like it was a break.
- 10:04Carmen Lezeth: It was a break, it was.
- 10:05Carmen Lezeth: It was not Rick.
- 10:12Carmen Lezeth: This was not a conversation with Rick.
- 10:13Carmen Lezeth: I am so sorry because, rick, you're just one of the girls, honey, I didn't even think of that.
- 10:18Carmen Lezeth: No, no, it was not Rick.
- 10:22Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, he kind of insinuated that he didn't read the whole email.
- 10:25Carmen Lezeth: Blow blood, which is not the first time I've heard people say that to me.
- 10:28Carmen Lezeth: Friends can get away with that.
- 10:29Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 10:30Carmen Lezeth: So I said you know what, don't worry about it, I'll stop writing you long emails, it's no big deal.
- 10:36Carmen Lezeth: And he turned around and he said and I don't know why it affected me so much with it the same thing, andrea, with you, like the serrated knife thing, like I'm never gonna pick.
- 10:44Carmen Lezeth: All he said was keep being you, that's okay, keep being you.
- 10:48Carmen Lezeth: We kept talking, whatever.
- 10:50Carmen Lezeth: I got off the phone, I started bawling, crying.
- 10:52Carmen Lezeth: I was like he's accept.
- 10:55Carmen Lezeth: I was like what is wrong with me?
- 10:57Carmen Lezeth: He loved me.
- 10:57Carmen Lezeth: I was like, hmm, but anyway, have you guys ever had anything that happened like that, where you, I don't know, did you experience this?
- 11:05Carmen Lezeth: For me was a joyful moment when he did that, and I let him know the next day, and of course he texts me again and was just even more lovely and I was like I love you and I was like.
- 11:17Rick Costa: I do have a app.
- 11:17Rick Costa: It's called Marco Polo.
- 11:18Rick Costa: It's kind of like FaceTime, but except instead of being live, it's recorded, so that way you don't have to actually be in their presence live.
- 11:24Rick Costa: And so me and my best friend talking there all the time and one thing that he does that annoys that's what I mean all the time.
- 11:28Rick Costa: Yeah, I'm responding back to you, but I'm going to finish listening to your message a little bit later and I'm like then why did you respond now?
- 11:34Rick Costa: Just get to it when you can.
- 11:35Rick Costa: Why do you do this?
- 11:36Rick Costa: Or he goes through the drive, he starts to Marco Polo me, he starts to message me yeah, can I get a number two?
- 11:42Rick Costa: Why we couldn't wait until you were out of the line.
- 11:44Rick Costa: What are you doing?
- 11:46Andrea Nunez: I'm going to stick up for your friend Rick, because if anyone knows this about me, I will wait to contact people until I have three hours.
- 11:56Andrea Nunez: I'm like OK, I'm going to call Carmen, but I need to set aside a day because I want to get it all in, instead of being that person who's just checking in regularly.
- 12:06Andrea Nunez: I kind of wish I was that person who was like, hey, yeah, I'm just at the drive-through and I was thinking about this.
- 12:13Andrea Nunez: It feels more conversational and in the moment and present he's bringing you into his life.
- 12:18Andrea Nunez: I mean, I get what you're saying about, like I didn't finish listening to your message, but I wish I was more like that versus the way that I am, which is like I won't talk to you for a month and a half because I don't have a three-hour stretch to have a conversation with you.
- 12:30Carmen Lezeth: But I appreciate that because I think I'm like Rick.
- 12:32Carmen Lezeth: I don't want you telling me you're at McDonald's and you know who used to do that all the time, richard.
- 12:38Andrea Nunez: I remember he used to blame me I remember him doing that all the time.
- 12:42Carmen Lezeth: I hated that Hi.
- 12:43Cynthia Ruiz: Frida Lafnaud.
- 12:44Cynthia Ruiz: That was funny comment Behind every great woman.
- 12:46Carmen Lezeth: There's a man pretending to listen.
- 12:48Carmen Lezeth: Why are you taking that joy away from me?
- 12:51Carmen Lezeth: No, he meant it.
- 12:53Rick Costa: That's Chris.
- 12:54Rick Costa: That's the guy that told us about that song Lemony, lemony, lemony, where that song goes.
- 12:58Rick Costa: Remember that Lemond song?
- 12:58Rick Costa: That's Chris.
- 12:59Rick Costa: He was on the show with us while we were even seeing his face until the picture.
- 13:02Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, y'all, that's right.
- 13:03Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 13:03Carmen Lezeth: But he changed, Was his name always Frida Lafnaud.
- 13:06Rick Costa: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's his name.
- 13:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh, look it.
- 13:08Carmen Lezeth: I am terrible with names and I'm also terrible with directions.
- 13:11Carmen Lezeth: I'm just going to put it wherever I'm driving together.
- 13:12Carmen Lezeth: Just these are my two weaknesses.
- 13:14Carmen Lezeth: If I don't know you on a regular basis in my face I'm a mess up name, so I apologize.
- 13:19Carmen Lezeth: Not really good for me to be in this business, by the way.
- 13:21Carmen Lezeth: I completely miss you, Cynthia.
- 13:24Carmen Lezeth: What about you, Miss Giggly, Love you.
- 13:27Cynthia Ruiz: Oh, one does that to me all the time.
- 13:29Cynthia Ruiz: I'll call him for something, and then he just starts a conversation with someone else.
- 13:32Cynthia Ruiz: I'm like hello, like I'm on the phone and I'll just hang up, and then he'll come back.
- 13:37Cynthia Ruiz: He's like why do you hang up?
- 13:38Cynthia Ruiz: I was like you were having a conversation with someone else.
- 13:41Carmen Lezeth: Is that like a normal husband wife thing?
- 13:42Carmen Lezeth: Now, does that happen all the time With him?
- 13:45Carmen Lezeth: It does, oh, it does.
- 13:46Carmen Lezeth: So, ok, I don't know if any of you watched the Grammys.
- 13:51Carmen Lezeth: I hope you did.
- 13:52Carmen Lezeth: Did you watch the Grammys?
- 13:53Rick Costa: I did my homework, I did.
- 13:54Cynthia Ruiz: Can I tell you I was so mad that I missed it.
- 13:57Cynthia Ruiz: I was so mad, so mad.
- 13:59Cynthia Ruiz: I missed it because one wanted to watch this stupid movie and I missed the time.
- 14:05Cynthia Ruiz: And by the time the movie was over, I caught just the ending.
- 14:08Cynthia Ruiz: And I was so mad.
- 14:10Rick Costa: And that's one of the most talked about parts Was that ending?
- 14:12Rick Costa: Let me tell you.
- 14:13Carmen Lezeth: The ending of the Grammys.
- 14:14Carmen Lezeth: What happened at the?
- 14:15Cynthia Ruiz: end Celine Dion, celine.
- 14:17Carmen Lezeth: Oh right, right, right.
- 14:18Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that was lovely when she came out.
- 14:19Carmen Lezeth: So I'm just going to say this when I think of joyful moments, I would show it because I actually have it, I have it recorded and I have it on my YouTube and I have premium YouTube so we could watch it.
- 14:32Carmen Lezeth: The problem is, I think my recording in general would get knocked down or I'd get a what is it?
- 14:37Carmen Lezeth: A warning or something, because it's owned by CBS.
- 14:39Carmen Lezeth: And I don't have exclusive rights, but when they do put it up, because they will eventually put it up right now, everyone's putting up their phone versions or whatever.
- 14:48Carmen Lezeth: Don't do that.
- 14:48Carmen Lezeth: But right at the beginning, what I think was amazing and I've watched it a million times now Trevor Noah did a great job.
- 14:54Carmen Lezeth: Blah, blah, blah, they do one award I think Miley Cyrus wins an award first and then they go to the next moment and you see the guitar and you see a shadow, and you see a black woman's hand, and you know we as the TV audience is.
- 15:11Carmen Lezeth: For me, this is the thing about directing that I love, because it creates such an emotional moment.
- 15:16Carmen Lezeth: So I'm like, oh my God, it's Tracy Chapman, oh my God.
- 15:19Carmen Lezeth: And she starts playing, but the audience can't see her yet.
- 15:23Carmen Lezeth: They can hear the music and then, of course, the lights come up and they can and you hear the roar of the audience.
- 15:29Carmen Lezeth: I just that whole moment was just exquisite.
- 15:33Carmen Lezeth: And then, of course, her voice, her skin, her presence, the song, all of it was just magnificent.
- 15:39Carmen Lezeth: And I apologize because I don't remember the gentleman's name the country music star, what's his name?
- 15:45Carmen Lezeth: He's the one that brought the song back, basically because he I'm so sorry Somebody in the chat.
- 15:52Carmen Lezeth: If you can tell me his name, it's Luke Bryant or Bryant.
- 15:56Andrea Nunez: Luke Bryant, I think.
- 15:57Carmen Lezeth: Luke Bryant, I'm so sorry.
- 15:59Cynthia Ruiz: Luke Combs.
- 16:00Cynthia Ruiz: Oh, you're right, luke Combs, actually Let me apologize because I should know his name.
- 16:06Carmen Lezeth: That's very rude of me.
- 16:07Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to apologize because he loved the song since he was a kid, and here's what I love about him he's clearly.
- 16:13Carmen Lezeth: They've decided she's going to sing one part, he'll sing the next, and they're going to go back and forth, but he can't stop singing.
- 16:18Carmen Lezeth: So he's like singing and it's so.
- 16:20Carmen Lezeth: You could tell his admiration and I thought I love all of that.
- 16:25Carmen Lezeth: I love those moments of pure joy.
- 16:27Carmen Lezeth: So I encourage everyone to watch it and enjoy it.
- 16:30Carmen Lezeth: And I just made me happy.
- 16:32Carmen Lezeth: That's all.
- 16:33Carmen Lezeth: It made me so happy.
- 16:34Carmen Lezeth: I've watched it so many times, I don't know, but those of you that watched, you had issues with Celine Dion.
- 16:40Carmen Lezeth: I hear Rick.
- 16:42Rick Costa: Well, at first I'll say Miley Cyrus.
- 16:44Rick Costa: She got up and she got her award from Mariah Carey and she was really happy.
- 16:48Rick Costa: Obviously, she's like you know what I'm more happy to be up here with Mariah Carey than I'm getting to get this award.
- 16:53Rick Costa: So she acknowledged her.
- 16:54Rick Costa: Like you should give her the respect she's your predecessor.
- 16:57Rick Costa: Respect your people that helped you get to where you are today.
- 17:01Carmen Lezeth: Taylor Swift.
- 17:01Carmen Lezeth: I'm just going to give a shout out to the Swifties.
- 17:04Carmen Lezeth: I am not getting in the middle of it.
- 17:09Rick Costa: She takes the award from Miss Celine Dion, doesn't even look her, like she's the help, turns around and only cares about her family, her friends and family, totally ignores her completely, like she ain't even there.
- 17:20Rick Costa: I'm like that's Celine Dion, what are you doing?
- 17:23Rick Costa: I don't know.
- 17:24Rick Costa: I thought it was rude as heck I agree, go ahead, cynthia, please.
- 17:28Carmen Lezeth: This is a call to town.
- 17:30Cynthia Ruiz: That was the one part I did get to see, and me and Juan were both watching it.
- 17:33Cynthia Ruiz: We're both like did she just like ignore Celine Dion?
- 17:37Cynthia Ruiz: Had that in me, I would have been like bowing down to the woman.
- 17:39Cynthia Ruiz: Forget the Grammy, you know.
- 17:41Cynthia Ruiz: But yeah, I mean, I know she took a picture with her afterwards backstage and she said she didn't snub her, that she was just in the moment and she was shocked and in my head I'm like shocked, really, you've got nominee Grammys.
- 17:54Rick Costa: Yeah, 13th.
- 17:55Rick Costa: Right, that was the 13th, her lucky nominee.
- 17:58Carmen Lezeth: I can tell by Andrea's face.
- 17:59Carmen Lezeth: She's like I don't give a fuck, I don't give a fuck.
- 18:03Carmen Lezeth: I can tell by Andrea's face Don't give a shit.
- 18:09Andrea Nunez: I was surprised she didn't say anything.
- 18:11Andrea Nunez: But I was surprised and then it left my brain and I did not think another thought about it.
- 18:17Andrea Nunez: I was like, oh, ok, I'm going to turn off Billy Joel now.
- 18:21Andrea Nunez: Well, that's mean, come on, give them props, it's OK.
- 18:26Andrea Nunez: I'm just going to say I really, really don't enjoy Billy Joel's music.
- 18:32Andrea Nunez: But it happened to be on and I was doing something else.
- 18:34Andrea Nunez: I was like, ok, ok, ok, I don't have to.
- 18:37Andrea Nunez: You know, it's not John Denver, I don't have to run into the other room or anything like that.
- 18:41Rick Costa: Is it?
- 18:42Andrea Nunez: John Denver dead.
- 18:43Andrea Nunez: He is, but it's a family joke, how much I strongly, strongly dislike John Denver.
- 18:48Andrea Nunez: Ok.
- 18:51Rick Costa: May he rest in peace.
- 18:53Andrea Nunez: May he rest in peace.
- 18:54Andrea Nunez: I'm sure he's a very nice man.
- 18:56Andrea Nunez: I just can't.
- 18:57Andrea Nunez: Just don't make me a stranger, that's a joke.
- 19:01Andrea Nunez: Yeah.
- 19:02Andrea Nunez: So I know a lot was made of it, but I was like who effing cares?
- 19:06Andrea Nunez: I don't know, I just didn't care.
- 19:07Andrea Nunez: Yeah, you're right.
- 19:08Cynthia Ruiz: You're right.
- 19:09Andrea Nunez: We all do.
- 19:10Andrea Nunez: No, I know Everybody cares and I was like all I said was did everyone watch the Grammys?
- 19:15Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know.
- 19:16Carmen Lezeth: I just didn't know about Taylor Swift.
- 19:18Andrea Nunez: This was actually the first time that I had watched the Grammys in many, many years, and the kids wanted to watch it.
- 19:23Andrea Nunez: So I was watching it and I mean, obviously, yes, the Tracy Chapman moment was like you know, I mean it was fantastic, amazing.
- 19:34Andrea Nunez: Joni Mitchell, joni Mitchell.
- 19:36Andrea Nunez: I mean it was a really, I thought a really really good show.
- 19:40Carmen Lezeth: Trevor Noah did a great job.
- 19:41Rick Costa: He did a great job.
- 19:42Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and again, I wish people who do the Oscars or whatever would get back to being people who care more about the audience than their own career.
- 19:51Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, I know, over comedians who are doing the Oscars and always worried about how they fare as opposed to how they can make it a joyful thing.
- 19:59Carmen Lezeth: You know, I think that's been part of the problem, Not only you just said how can you not enjoy Billy Joel's music?
- 20:04Carmen Lezeth: I think after didn't he do piano man?
- 20:06Carmen Lezeth: I think after that I was kind of I don't remember.
- 20:11Andrea Nunez: I mean, I there's just like I know, I'm just bitchy like that there's just certain voices that are like here's the thing about Andrea.
- 20:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm giving you all more information about Andrea.
- 20:22Carmen Lezeth: Don't mess with her music, because you're not going to win.
- 20:25Carmen Lezeth: You're not going to win.
- 20:27Carmen Lezeth: She knows every piece of music.
- 20:28Carmen Lezeth: She can tell you whether she likes it or not.
- 20:31Carmen Lezeth: And why don't even fight?
- 20:32Carmen Lezeth: It's like me fighting with her watching ET.
- 20:35Carmen Lezeth: It's never going to happen.
- 20:36Carmen Lezeth: It's just not going to happen.
- 20:37Rick Costa: Different strokes for different folks, right?
- 20:38Rick Costa: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:39Andrea Nunez: I mean, I'm nothing wrong with it, it's just not for me, I know.
- 20:44Carmen Lezeth: I was shocked when you called me.
- 20:45Carmen Lezeth: I think you called me because George Michael had passed away and you knew that I loved him so much.
- 20:51Carmen Lezeth: It was Christmas day and I was crying my eyes out and the first person to reach out to me and cause I was sure you did not like George Michael at all, cause that's what I had thought.
- 20:59Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 21:00Carmen Lezeth: Cause I was like I'm messing with her with her music.
- 21:02Carmen Lezeth: So I'll never forget that.
- 21:03Carmen Lezeth: You see how important you is.
- 21:05Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to get broke with you.
- 21:06Carmen Lezeth: So Asher said I'm the same Andrea with certain voices.
- 21:10Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, me too.
- 21:11Carmen Lezeth: I mean everybody, who, who, who, who, Asher said not like ET as a crime, though Asher's not that she don't like it.
- 21:18Carmen Lezeth: She will not watch it.
- 21:19Carmen Lezeth: I promise you, if she watched it she would like it, but she won't.
- 21:23Andrea Nunez: And I don't disagree with it.
- 21:24Andrea Nunez: I don't want to like it and that's.
- 21:27Andrea Nunez: That's just my, you know one of my many flaws on that kind of person.
- 21:32Carmen Lezeth: So I mean I'm on my death bed.
- 21:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to be like Andrea please.
- 21:35Carmen Lezeth: Will will Spielberg's eat me.
- 21:42Cynthia Ruiz: She's going to have.
- 21:43Rick Costa: She's going to have a TV right next to the casket playing ET all the time.
- 21:46Andrea Nunez: I said on one of the other podcasts he's going to be playing at her fucking funeral.
- 21:51Carmen Lezeth: At my funeral.
- 21:52Carmen Lezeth: Actually, bitch is going to be playing at your mother fucking funeral.
- 21:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to be like to your mama this is what she won she loved ET.
- 22:02Andrea Nunez: That was the one thing she wanted.
- 22:05Carmen Lezeth: She loved this movie so much.
- 22:06Carmen Lezeth: She just loved it.
- 22:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I, I loved the Grammys.
- 22:12Carmen Lezeth: Look at here's the thing she said the other day.
- 22:15Carmen Lezeth: I just feel like they're shoving Taylor slip down our throats.
- 22:18Carmen Lezeth: I'm like, please stop, like, just stop.
- 22:22Carmen Lezeth: Would you leave this young woman alone?
- 22:24Carmen Lezeth: All your jealousy and anger and hatred towards this young woman?
- 22:28Carmen Lezeth: I don't care what you like Her music or not.
- 22:30Carmen Lezeth: The kids do.
- 22:32Carmen Lezeth: She is talented.
- 22:33Carmen Lezeth: She's not out there showing her titties and her ass and you know she is like I'm okay with whatever it is she's doing because she's not doing anything to harm anyone.
- 22:43Carmen Lezeth: She's writing her.
- 22:45Carmen Lezeth: She writes her own music most of the time.
- 22:47Carmen Lezeth: Right, I mean, she's talented.
- 22:49Rick Costa: Isn't it put up to a vote?
- 22:50Rick Costa: I'm sorry, isn't it put up to a vote?
- 22:52Rick Costa: It's not like one person decides.
- 22:54Rick Costa: Like it's put up to a vote.
- 22:55Rick Costa: What, what decide.
- 22:56Carmen Lezeth: What are we talking about?
- 22:56Carmen Lezeth: The award.
- 22:57Rick Costa: Who wins?
- 22:58Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'm not even talking about the award, I'm talking about the hatred towards her.
- 23:01Carmen Lezeth: I'm just like you know, everybody's just so angst about this woman who is so talented and amazing and great.
- 23:06Carmen Lezeth: And you know, look at the whole thing with Celine Dion.
- 23:09Carmen Lezeth: Again, I want to give people the benefit of the doubt.
- 23:12Carmen Lezeth: Now, if she had gone up there and was like fuck you, give me my, you know, horrible Like, if she had done something that I I think she was.
- 23:23Carmen Lezeth: And this is indicative of what I think is wrong with part of our generation today.
- 23:26Carmen Lezeth: We lack consideration, we lack manners, we lack the ability to acknowledge other people.
- 23:33Carmen Lezeth: We are very self absorbed.
- 23:34Carmen Lezeth: She's not the only one.
- 23:36Carmen Lezeth: All of us have this problem and it's part of our society today.
- 23:42Carmen Lezeth: It's the reason why we're politically estranged.
- 23:45Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 23:46Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if estranged is the right word, but we're just.
- 23:48Carmen Lezeth: We can't talk to each other.
- 23:50Carmen Lezeth: We get angry with each other.
- 23:51Carmen Lezeth: We can't have conversations with each other.
- 23:53Carmen Lezeth: If somebody doesn't like you, it's like then you have to go and stalk them and be mean and cruel and whatever.
- 23:57Carmen Lezeth: Like.
- 23:57Carmen Lezeth: There's no ability to have grace is what I'm saying and I'm not going to put that all on this young child who is dealing with and how old is she?
- 24:06Carmen Lezeth: Like 30 something.
- 24:08Carmen Lezeth: To me she's young, and here's what I'm saying.
- 24:09Carmen Lezeth: She's been dealing with stardom since she was a kid and she has been handling it better than most of the veterans in her industry, and she was young when this all happened to her, so I'm not mad at her.
- 24:22Carmen Lezeth: You know, Celine Dion is also someone who I think is brilliant enough, fantastic enough, to have withstood a small diss or whatever we all think it was.
- 24:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm sure Celine is not upset about it and if she was, I'm sure she's over it by now.
- 24:37Carmen Lezeth: She has clearly bigger things to be dealing with.
- 24:40Carmen Lezeth: You know, God bless her.
- 24:42Carmen Lezeth: So how did you guys feel If you've even heard about?
- 24:45Carmen Lezeth: Oh wait, Ash asked a question.
- 24:47Carmen Lezeth: I'm so sorry.
- 24:47Carmen Lezeth: Let me start with Mario.
- 24:50Carmen Lezeth: It's media over saturation and people get burnt out.
- 24:53Carmen Lezeth: Turn off the damn media.
- 24:55Carmen Lezeth: You're right, Mario, but people can turn it off, Like that's the thing.
- 24:58Carmen Lezeth: Taylor Swift isn't showing up at your house forcing you to listen to her music.
- 25:03Carmen Lezeth: I don't know one fucking song.
- 25:06Carmen Lezeth: The only song I know, let me stop line is Shake it Off.
- 25:09Carmen Lezeth: When did that come out?
- 25:10Carmen Lezeth: That was like a long time ago.
- 25:11Carmen Lezeth: That's only because it crossed over accidentally when I was on Twitter many, many years ago and I was like that's a cute song, and I saw the video.
- 25:17Carmen Lezeth: That's the only song I know of hers.
- 25:19Carmen Lezeth: If you don't want to watch her, you will not find her.
- 25:22Andrea Nunez: I don't see her on my feed ever ever Well, and people dissect not just with her, with all celebrities.
- 25:28Andrea Nunez: People dissect every movement.
- 25:31Andrea Nunez: They're trying to lip read and see where your hand was and what your eyes were doing.
- 25:36Andrea Nunez: It's like in a millisecond time.
- 25:39Andrea Nunez: You know what I mean Like the frames of a picture.
- 25:41Andrea Nunez: It's like who could withstand that?
- 25:44Andrea Nunez: Yeah, who could withstand people dissecting your every single movement and thing that you said, maybe said it's just a lot.
- 25:53Carmen Lezeth: Everyone just needs to chill out, Ashton said I'll play devil's advocate.
- 25:56Carmen Lezeth: I respect what Celine Dion has done in music, but I can't stand her voice.
- 25:59Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I mean, she has a beautiful voice, not my music, not my thing, but I don't hate her music.
- 26:09Carmen Lezeth: But you know, and she's also just one of those people who's just had the most tragic life, it's just her husband died, her brother died.
- 26:17Carmen Lezeth: I mean just one thing.
- 26:18Carmen Lezeth: She has this horrible disease.
- 26:20Carmen Lezeth: That's a rare thing and I you know yeah.
- 26:24Rick Costa: I hear you Ash.
- 26:27Carmen Lezeth: And Mario, I know she's everywhere.
- 26:28Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying she's also everywhere because that's how the algorithm knows that you're watching it.
- 26:33Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 26:33Carmen Lezeth: You can.
- 26:34Carmen Lezeth: I'm not trying to blame it on you, but I honestly, on my mother's grave and I don't say that often I don't see anything about Taylor Swift until it's the Grammys, and I see it because I'm watching everything on the Grammys.
- 26:45Carmen Lezeth: So now the Grammys, but I don't see her stuff every day.
- 26:47Carmen Lezeth: And I know football people all upset, Get over it.
- 26:52Rick Costa: I like Ash's subtle disc, though A couple of comments down to Taylor.
- 26:56Rick Costa: I don't care.
- 26:57Rick Costa: Either way, she seems fine for her age group.
- 26:59Rick Costa: Settle disc.
- 27:02Carmen Lezeth: Well, I mean, you know it's true it's not my music, it's just not my music and it's fine.
- 27:08Carmen Lezeth: But you know what, Half the performances up there weren't my music.
- 27:11Carmen Lezeth: So I know I'm getting old, because I was like I have no idea who this is Like, yeah, like this music.
- 27:16Carmen Lezeth: I mean that was like nice sex, like I must have said that I was nice, love her hair.
- 27:23Andrea Nunez: I mean, that's the stuff I was doing.
- 27:24Andrea Nunez: No idea who this is, but that's a really cute dress.
- 27:31Rick Costa: That's some interesting blood flowing down the balls behind this chick.
- 27:34Rick Costa: Yeah, okay, yeah.
- 27:37Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I didn't know a lot of these people.
- 27:40Carmen Lezeth: Melanie said I want to watch a football game without it being over saturated with Taylor Swift other than her boyfriend.
- 27:45Carmen Lezeth: What does she have to do with football?
- 27:46Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but my argument for that, melanie, hear me out here.
- 27:49Carmen Lezeth: Taylor Swift is not in control of the cameras.
- 27:53Carmen Lezeth: Your argument isn't with Taylor Swift, it's with the NFL, who are trying to use her as a wedge to do this to all of you.
- 28:02Carmen Lezeth: They're trying to do it to bring more people into the NFL.
- 28:06Rick Costa: Right.
- 28:06Carmen Lezeth: So that's what I'm trying to say.
- 28:08Carmen Lezeth: Be careful of who you're angry with.
- 28:10Carmen Lezeth: Taylor Swift, last time I noticed is not walking around with a camera on her shoulder, being like, hey, here I am.
- 28:17Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 28:17Carmen Lezeth: That's the problem that your anger isn't with her, it's with the NFL.
- 28:22Carmen Lezeth: Ashley, I don't watch football either, so I don't see them on my algorithm, yeah, and I don't listen to her music, I don't you know?
- 28:28Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know who Kelsey.
- 28:30Carmen Lezeth: What's his name?
- 28:30Carmen Lezeth: Kelsey Grammer?
- 28:31Carmen Lezeth: No, it's not.
- 28:32Carmen Lezeth: What's his name?
- 28:34Rick Costa: Kelsey Frazier hey baby, I hear the blues are calling, while cell is in a scrambled egg.
- 28:39Carmen Lezeth: We're going to start to ruin her.
- 28:40Carmen Lezeth: Taylor Swift is meeting Kelsey Grammer.
- 28:43Carmen Lezeth: Who is she meeting, kelsey?
- 28:46Andrea Nunez: You guys don't even know his name, I think the last name's Kelsey, or Kelsey Travis that's his name, travis.
- 28:52Carmen Lezeth: First name is Travis.
- 28:54Rick Costa: Where's late night parents when you need them?
- 28:55Carmen Lezeth: I know right.
- 28:56Carmen Lezeth: Okay, here's one thing, the reason why I know who this mofo is.
- 29:00Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to call him a mofo because the 49ers are going to win.
- 29:02Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know.
- 29:03Rick Costa: Thank you, mama.
- 29:03Carmen Lezeth: We in California.
- 29:04Carmen Lezeth: So I'm saying they're going to win.
- 29:05Carmen Lezeth: But the reason why is because somehow and it's not his fault, it's not this man's fault, I know it's not his fault, but he hasn't come out and said anything.
- 29:12Carmen Lezeth: Somehow, barbers across America white barbers are now saying that everybody's coming in to get the Kelsey.
- 29:20Carmen Lezeth: What's his name?
- 29:20Carmen Lezeth: Travis, kelsey, kelsey, travis, the Kelsey Travis haircut.
- 29:26Carmen Lezeth: What's his first name and what's his last name?
- 29:28Carmen Lezeth: Travis is the first name, okay, travis.
- 29:31Carmen Lezeth: So there was an article, I think it was in the New York Times, where they said that, barb, they interviewed a barber who's like charges his barber, charges him like $1,000 for his haircut and he's like it's so weird because everybody now wants to come in and get the Travis Kelsey haircut.
- 29:47Carmen Lezeth: Motherfucking, that's a fade.
- 29:49Carmen Lezeth: Black people been getting a fade since like 1980, bitch, you know what I mean.
- 29:53Carmen Lezeth: Like, are you kidding me?
- 29:55Carmen Lezeth: So that's why I know what his name is.
- 29:58Carmen Lezeth: Other than that, I knew that they were making a big deal about the football player that was dating what's her name?
- 30:01Carmen Lezeth: But I was like hell to the no.
- 30:04Carmen Lezeth: They are appropriating what is a black man's haircut that they've been getting for decades and they're giving him the credit which you know we don't need to get into race here, but I'm just saying that's why I know that mofo's that and again, not his fault, but he has.
- 30:21Carmen Lezeth: I was waiting for him to come out.
- 30:22Carmen Lezeth: I put a little thing subject thing of alerts with his name in it, because I'm waiting for him to come and be like yeah, no, my haircut is it.
- 30:29Carmen Lezeth: But he's not going to do that because it's going to diss his barber.
- 30:31Carmen Lezeth: It's his barber's fault.
- 30:32Carmen Lezeth: Sorry, I got a little emotional because I was very upset about that.
- 30:36Carmen Lezeth: I thought that was tacky.
- 30:37Carmen Lezeth: He needs to come out and say something.
- 30:41Carmen Lezeth: You're all like, really, you're that upset about a thing?
- 30:43Carmen Lezeth: Yes, that's how it happens, and it wasn't just me.
- 30:47Carmen Lezeth: I mean, you can imagine I was upset because I was reading it on the roots, I was reading it on all these other articles and then I was like, oh my God.
- 30:54Carmen Lezeth: Then I went to the New York Times article and the person who voted didn't investigate it at all.
- 30:59Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, okay, let's go on to our next subject.
- 31:03Carmen Lezeth: I'm a little bit.
- 31:04Carmen Lezeth: Leave Taylor Swift alone, but meet up with Kelsey Travis.
- 31:08Carmen Lezeth: What the fuck is this?
- 31:09Carmen Lezeth: The chili comes out about the pain.
- 31:12Carmen Lezeth: All right, I was just asking what are some other moments from television or movies or from our time that you remember that might be joyful.
- 31:21Carmen Lezeth: I brought up Prince at the Super Bowl, unbelievable, joyful moment.
- 31:26Andrea Nunez: You can Google that again I mean, yeah, that was incredible, I said in the rain.
- 31:33Carmen Lezeth: I still think that's the best Super Bowl halftime show Can't be topped.
- 31:37Rick Costa: Won't be topped, yeah, I know, I actually saw in my feed after watching that because you sent me a link they found a video of him as a kid.
- 31:44Rick Costa: Like somebody accidentally found it.
- 31:46Rick Costa: Did you see that?
- 31:47Carmen Lezeth: Which what.
- 31:47Carmen Lezeth: There's so many videos that everyone accidentally found which one.
- 31:51Rick Costa: He was a little, he was Prince.
- 31:52Rick Costa: It was literally a little little kid and they just were asking different people.
- 31:56Rick Costa: Literally they were asking Like news people were just asking people questions and I forgot what they asked me exactly.
- 32:01Rick Costa: And he was like, yeah, da, da, da da.
- 32:02Rick Costa: And people were like and they went to people that knew him as a kid and they were like, oh my gosh, and they called him a different name.
- 32:07Rick Costa: I forgot what the name was and they were like that's so cute that they don't call him Prince.
- 32:10Rick Costa: They called him what they called him when he was a kid.
- 32:12Carmen Lezeth: But and that was a lot I mean I saw that.
- 32:14Carmen Lezeth: I mean I remember because he was I forget what the whole premise was of that but they were interviewing him or something, but he wasn't Prince.
- 32:19Carmen Lezeth: I mean he was Prince but he wasn't famous or whatever.
- 32:21Carmen Lezeth: I remember that interview, yeah.
- 32:23Rick Costa: Literally a kid.
- 32:23Rick Costa: He wasn't even a teenager, he was little.
- 32:25Rick Costa: I know literally again, he keeps saying.
- 32:26Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm just cracking up, as opposed to pretending he was a kid.
- 32:31Cynthia Ruiz: I think, Exactly.
- 32:33Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, he was on the local news, but I forget what the subject matter was, but I did see that, yeah, but do you guys have other moments that you remember at all?
- 32:40Carmen Lezeth: Are you looking forward to Usher at the Super Bowl?
- 32:43Carmen Lezeth: Are you going to watch the Super Bowl?
- 32:45Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, I always watch the Super Bowl.
- 32:48Andrea Nunez: Who was your favorite?
- 32:48Andrea Nunez: But I was here on there.
- 32:50Cynthia Ruiz: He was on there before.
- 32:51Cynthia Ruiz: Who, usher?
- 32:52Cynthia Ruiz: He was on there when, oh who else was on there?
- 32:55Cynthia Ruiz: There was another artist who was the main one, but then Usher came out.
- 32:58Cynthia Ruiz: Oh, black Eyed Peas.
- 33:00Cynthia Ruiz: It was Black Eyed Peas when they were on, and then Usher came out.
- 33:04Cynthia Ruiz: So this will be his second time, I think, but he's headlining it right.
- 33:07Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I don't remember the Black Eyed Peas, so it couldn't have been that good.
- 33:10Carmen Lezeth: But no, I'm just kidding.
- 33:11Cynthia Ruiz: You know the Black.
- 33:11Rick Costa: Eyed Peas.
- 33:12Rick Costa: I'm just saying I don't remember.
- 33:13Carmen Lezeth: I remember Bono after 9-11, you two.
- 33:16Carmen Lezeth: I remember that that was pretty incredible Because he did all the names on the white back screen and then at the end, which was such a small, and this is why I don't understand why people don't get.
- 33:29Carmen Lezeth: You don't have to have 95 naked dancers around.
- 33:32Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 33:33Carmen Lezeth: But all he did was open up his jacket and it had the American flag on it.
- 33:37Carmen Lezeth: There was just kind of this cool moment where you're like you know he's not.
- 33:41Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I'm sure he's American.
- 33:42Carmen Lezeth: But, you know what I mean.
- 33:43Carmen Lezeth: It was just a cool moment, and I'm sure he has dual citizenship because he's Ireland, right, he's Irish or whatever.
- 33:48Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, that's probably my second favorite.
- 33:51Carmen Lezeth: My first favorite is Prince, I think the 9.
- 33:55Carmen Lezeth: Not 9-11.
- 33:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to call it that, but you two, after 9-11, was amazing.
- 34:00Carmen Lezeth: And then after that I'm just going to give it to Beyonce, and it was cold played.
- 34:04Carmen Lezeth: But Beyonce and what's his name came out?
- 34:07Carmen Lezeth: Little guy.
- 34:09Carmen Lezeth: Awesome.
- 34:10Carmen Lezeth: Bruno Mars, oh, little guy.
- 34:13Rick Costa: Little guy.
- 34:16Carmen Lezeth: He's short, he's short, but he's amazing.
- 34:18Carmen Lezeth: But they came up, but it was cold play.
- 34:20Carmen Lezeth: I don't have to.
- 34:20Carmen Lezeth: I mean no offense to cold play, don't need no cold play, but when they come out and they do the little battle between each other, I thought that was a good moment too.
- 34:28Cynthia Ruiz: So the one I liked that was 50-50 was Jennifer Lopez, shakira, and you know how I feel about Jennifer Lopez.
- 34:37Cynthia Ruiz: Okay, that's why I said 50-50.
- 34:41Cynthia Ruiz: I love Shakira, love Shakira.
- 34:47Carmen Lezeth: She loves Shakira.
- 34:48Carmen Lezeth: She really loves Shakira.
- 34:48Carmen Lezeth: We don't hate Jennifer Lopez.
- 34:52Cynthia Ruiz: No, we don't hate her.
- 34:52Cynthia Ruiz: I just, honestly, I just feel like she's kind of been lightwashed in a way.
- 34:57Cynthia Ruiz: That's how I feel.
- 34:59Cynthia Ruiz: I can't see if anybody else, but I feel like she don't whitewash.
- 35:02Cynthia Ruiz: I feel like all the roles that she plays are not Latino roles and they don't suit her Like you mean.
- 35:09Carmen Lezeth: Like made in Manhattan.
- 35:10Carmen Lezeth: You want me to go down the list Movies.
- 35:15Carmen Lezeth: Let me just read some of the comments.
- 35:17Carmen Lezeth: So Janet Superbowl performance was great other than Nipplegate.
- 35:20Carmen Lezeth: I don't remember Janet's, because all I remember is the Nipplegate thing.
- 35:23Carmen Lezeth: And we love Janet Jackson and that's why we celebrate her on Superbowl Sunday, because when we call it we have a special name for the day.
- 35:31Carmen Lezeth: We celebrate Janet Jackson.
- 35:32Carmen Lezeth: Alma said he.
- 35:34Carmen Lezeth: I think she's talking about Mr Kelsey Grammar, whatever his name is.
- 35:39Rick Costa: Travis, travis, kelsey.
- 35:42Carmen Lezeth: He did say he did not invent it, that he only asked for it, and that the person who wrote the article was messed up for putting it out on February 1st and throwing him to the wolf.
- 35:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, because it's also Black History Month, right, and that was the other part of it.
- 35:54Carmen Lezeth: So when you say he it was the hairdresser, right, I mean the barber, whatever hair, whatever the right terminology is for hair cutting human beings, because I don't know what it is Okay, well then, I give him credit.
- 36:05Carmen Lezeth: But that was horrible.
- 36:06Carmen Lezeth: Dr Dre in LA.
- 36:09Cynthia Ruiz: Oh.
- 36:09Carmen Lezeth: Mario, that was awesome and, yes, you know what that's going to be.
- 36:14Carmen Lezeth: I think I'm going to put that as, like with my Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.
- 36:18Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to put them as a tie, but they were, you know what, Okay, okay, okay, I revise, I revise, I'm going to put them at three and I'm going to put Bruno Mars and Beyoncé at four only because they weren't headlining.
- 36:30Carmen Lezeth: They joined Coldplay.
- 36:31Carmen Lezeth: Oh, thank you.
- 36:33Carmen Lezeth: Thank you so much.
- 36:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry.
- 36:35Carmen Lezeth: J-lo can dance but can't sing and she leans into the Latina side when it's convenient.
- 36:39Carmen Lezeth: I love Shakira too.
- 36:40Carmen Lezeth: Here's my feeling on J-Lo.
- 36:42Carmen Lezeth: I both want to support her, but then want to beat the crap out of her because I'm like why?
- 36:49Carmen Lezeth: Here's my problem with any celebrity who's like oh my God, I just eat well Again, if this serum is so good.
- 37:00Carmen Lezeth: That's why I keep a healthy glow Bitch.
- 37:03Carmen Lezeth: Stop.
- 37:03Carmen Lezeth: You work out every day, 19 hours a day, with trainers.
- 37:08Carmen Lezeth: You have a chef.
- 37:09Carmen Lezeth: You don't do, you don't clean.
- 37:11Carmen Lezeth: I cleaned my bathroom today.
- 37:13Carmen Lezeth: My cell phone cleaned it before I went to work.
- 37:16Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 37:17Carmen Lezeth: I ain't got no nails because I have to type all day long.
- 37:20Carmen Lezeth: You know like, stop it.
- 37:22Carmen Lezeth: And I don't even have it as hard as other people.
- 37:24Carmen Lezeth: So it's like that's what I can't stand the lies, the lies.
- 37:28Carmen Lezeth: And it goes into the singing.
- 37:30Carmen Lezeth: I mean they did her wrong when they took away the mic.
- 37:35Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if you know that guy on Instagram and TikTok he takes away the background music so that you can just hear the acapella.
- 37:42Carmen Lezeth: Have you heard that?
- 37:44Carmen Lezeth: No, Because you know, if you are audio person, you can turn around and you can manipulate.
- 37:50Carmen Lezeth: I mean, sometimes, when I because I'm not even good at it, but I can go in and manipulate, Sometimes, like, well, Rick will say something, I can go in and edit it so that it flows into another sentence, Not to change anything, but to take out a sloughing or whatever it is.
- 38:04Carmen Lezeth: So you know, there's a.
- 38:06Carmen Lezeth: I'll send you all the link.
- 38:07Carmen Lezeth: There's a guy, or maybe it's a woman, but I think it's a man.
- 38:10Carmen Lezeth: He takes out everybody's audio.
- 38:12Carmen Lezeth: So you hear Whitney Houston.
- 38:13Carmen Lezeth: I mean Michael Jackson, and I'm going to guess that, by the way, but Michael Jackson's voice on point when you like it.
- 38:22Rick Costa: About the point I've seen.
- 38:23Carmen Lezeth: Michael Jackson once, yeah, point, and he does it with all of them.
- 38:26Carmen Lezeth: He did Jennifer Lopez and I was like, oh my God, take that down.
- 38:28Carmen Lezeth: That's so wrong, please stop.
- 38:31Carmen Lezeth: That's so wrong to do that to her, because it's bad Wow.
- 38:34Andrea Nunez: I just saw her.
- 38:35Andrea Nunez: She was on Saturday Night Live last week.
- 38:37Andrea Nunez: I guess I didn't see it.
- 38:38Andrea Nunez: I will ask it's what happened?
- 38:41Andrea Nunez: It's just she's so bad.
- 38:43Andrea Nunez: She's so bad.
- 38:44Andrea Nunez: Wait, she was singing.
- 38:46Andrea Nunez: She was singing, yeah, she was the musical guest, oh no, and so.
- 38:51Andrea Nunez: And so I was watching it with my daughter and you know I can't remember what we were saying and I was like you know, the thing with Jennifer Lopez is stunning, badass dancer.
- 39:01Andrea Nunez: Girl can dance, girl can move.
- 39:03Andrea Nunez: Obviously a performer.
- 39:05Andrea Nunez: Turn that shit down, honey.
- 39:06Andrea Nunez: We don't want to hear it.
- 39:10Carmen Lezeth: I have no problem with people who are performers, because there are differences.
- 39:13Carmen Lezeth: Right, madonna is a performer.
- 39:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I don't think Madonna has the best voice Don't come at me, madonna, people do not but that woman can absolutely sing in her range.
- 39:24Carmen Lezeth: She doesn't try to do what she can't do and I don't think she's using auto tune.
- 39:27Carmen Lezeth: Maybe older, as she's gotten older, but I, I don't know, I'm not that big of a fan.
- 39:31Carmen Lezeth: What I'm saying is she stays in her lane.
- 39:34Carmen Lezeth: But I do want to address something that Alma said, and this is where I feel bad, because I'm going to defend JLo a little bit and I hate having to do this.
- 39:41Carmen Lezeth: Okay, the problem with Hollywood is Hollywood still, to this day they're getting better at it Still believes that when you say Latino, a Latino actor or actress, all you get are roles made for white, latina people, latino people.
- 39:56Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean Unless you're playing some Mexican gang bang or something.
- 39:59Carmen Lezeth: You know a guy.
- 40:00Carmen Lezeth: Then they're like oh yeah, we need the ones with tattoos and blah blah.
- 40:03Carmen Lezeth: But like I'm Latina, I've never gone out for a Latina role that I got, and even when I went to audition they were like oh yeah, no, why did your agent send you in Because I'm Africana, latina, right, afro Latina.
- 40:16Carmen Lezeth: So we're still in that place where we are still not accepting that there are just so many flavors in the Latin community.
- 40:23Carmen Lezeth: And so the reason why I'm going to defend JLo a little bit is she going to take the roles that she can get.
- 40:29Carmen Lezeth: Look at, people don't realize this.
- 40:31Carmen Lezeth: I've talked about this before.
- 40:32Carmen Lezeth: Martin Sheehan, who I love with all my heart, old school actor, is Latino.
- 40:37Carmen Lezeth: He changed his name so that he could get roles.
- 40:41Carmen Lezeth: Now you're talking about back in the day, but I mean he did the whole West Wing, all these movies.
- 40:45Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 40:46Carmen Lezeth: And everyone up until recently thought he is just American, white.
- 40:51Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 40:51Carmen Lezeth: But he's Latino.
- 40:52Carmen Lezeth: That means his sons are Latino, right?
- 40:55Carmen Lezeth: So Charlie Sheehan and Emilio Estabes, who did keep his name.
- 40:59Carmen Lezeth: So Hollywood is evolving, you know what I mean.
- 41:02Carmen Lezeth: So my only problem with putting that on JLo is I think she is in that situation.
- 41:08Carmen Lezeth: I mean we're beyond it.
- 41:11Carmen Lezeth: But Jessica Alba, people don't realize she's Latina.
- 41:14Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 41:15Carmen Lezeth: There were so many people that can pass, that will take whatever roles they can get and then, when it's convenient, walk into the Latino community and I wanna blame them, but I'm here and so I see that and I understand it.
- 41:29Carmen Lezeth: But I have enough on JLo to be angry with her.
- 41:31Carmen Lezeth: So I'm on your side, I'm on team, I'm on everybody else, cause I don't like the lying and you don't have to be so overt about it.
- 41:40Carmen Lezeth: You know, I don't think she can speak Spanish either.
- 41:42Carmen Lezeth: Her husband, her ex-husband, no, no, is it her husband?
- 41:45Carmen Lezeth: Now, yeah, an affliction, speak Spanish better than she does.
- 41:50Carmen Lezeth: Wow, I mean, he is fluent, like fluent.
- 41:54Carmen Lezeth: Not that I'm saying you have to speak Spanish to qualify as a Latino cause.
- 42:00Carmen Lezeth: That's not my poigneta, I would fail, although I do speak Spanish.
- 42:03Carmen Lezeth: But I'm saying, but it's just an interesting thing, like when you hear him speak Spanish, I was like he's got all the intonations and the culture and whatever, and I'm like and she's kind of in that middle stage, you know.
- 42:14Carmen Lezeth: So I don't know.
- 42:15Rick Costa: She can speak Spanish.
- 42:17Rick Costa: I think she can speak Spanish.
- 42:18Rick Costa: The first time I ever saw her was in Living Color dancing J-Lo.
- 42:21Carmen Lezeth: That's what we all saw her.
- 42:22Rick Costa: That's what she got her star.
- 42:23Carmen Lezeth: And then she did Selena and she was amazing in Selena, Just amazing, you know.
- 42:28Carmen Lezeth: Like that's how she got her thing.
- 42:29Carmen Lezeth: And then I don't know what happened.
- 42:31Carmen Lezeth: Jenny from the block got it all up in her head or something.
- 42:35Carmen Lezeth: Remember that song?
- 42:37Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I remember that one, jenny from the block or whatever.
- 42:39Carmen Lezeth: Hi, yeah, I don't know.
- 42:42Carmen Lezeth: I feel bad that we hating on J-Lo.
- 42:44Carmen Lezeth: Oh, we not hating you.
- 42:46Carmen Lezeth: We want you to do better by all of us.
- 42:51Carmen Lezeth: It's Andrea who made you and we want you to do better, in the words of Sean Carter.
- 42:55Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but here's the thing though.
- 42:58Carmen Lezeth: You know what People ask her to sing, I don't get it.
- 43:01Andrea Nunez: My mom saw her at a concert and loved it.
- 43:06Andrea Nunez: By the way, she was into it.
- 43:10Carmen Lezeth: OK, well OK.
- 43:11Carmen Lezeth: So we're missing some, we're missing some.
- 43:12Andrea Nunez: I mean, you know, it was like a lady's night out and I'm glad she went and I was like this woman has a better social life than I do.
- 43:19Carmen Lezeth: But I should do Because Daniel wanted to get us tickets to various different things.
- 43:23Carmen Lezeth: I was going to name one, and then I realized I had to promote him I'm going to fuck up.
- 43:27Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 43:27Carmen Lezeth: I was like, yeah, we're going to erase that she did.
- 43:31Carmen Lezeth: That was my song for you.
- 43:32Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, what did?
- 43:35Rick Costa: you sing what Ash said.
- 43:36Rick Costa: She wrote Ash.
- 43:37Andrea Nunez: She has a nice smell.
- 43:37Andrea Nunez: I smell like perfume.
- 43:42Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I was like that's a point, she was selling some weight loss thing.
- 43:45Carmen Lezeth: I think that's when I lost it.
- 43:46Carmen Lezeth: There was some weight loss thing that she you know the minute, an actor of any caliber, any celebrity of any caliber sells weight loss shit, I'm done.
- 43:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm done Because it's outright lie, all of it.
- 44:01Rick Costa: Yeah, she can't sing, but she smells good.
- 44:03Rick Costa: She does she smells good.
- 44:07Carmen Lezeth: Well, I'm so glad you're talking.
- 44:07Carmen Lezeth: I was smelling bad, like I'm going to call this like dissing J-Lo.
- 44:12Carmen Lezeth: I did so well.
- 44:15Andrea Nunez: I've just talked about.
- 44:16Andrea Nunez: I've hated on all of these people.
- 44:18Andrea Nunez: I need to talk about some people I've like.
- 44:20Carmen Lezeth: Who are some people you like?
- 44:21Carmen Lezeth: Tell us who your favorite favorite musical artist is.
- 44:26Andrea Nunez: Oh well, my favorite favorite is Chris Cornell who, as we know, passed away several years ago, my one who I loved, and actually it's really sad.
- 44:34Andrea Nunez: I find it really difficult to listen to his music now.
- 44:36Andrea Nunez: You do See.
- 44:37Carmen Lezeth: I'm the opposite.
- 44:38Carmen Lezeth: Well, first of all, I got more comfortable listening to Chris Cornell after he passed away in honor of you, because I knew you were so upset.
- 44:44Carmen Lezeth: But wow, I love listening to him.
- 44:46Carmen Lezeth: That's so weird.
- 44:47Carmen Lezeth: And I love listening to George Michael Like I listen to George Michael every day.
- 44:50Andrea Nunez: Yeah, we listen to a lot of George Michael around here and I always turn it up and think of you.
- 44:54Andrea Nunez: But here and there I can listen to a few songs, but I used to listen to his music every day.
- 45:01Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I think you need to have a good cry to it and then find the joy in it.
- 45:04Carmen Lezeth: I'm not trying to be like boom boom, but I'm being serious.
- 45:07Carmen Lezeth: I think that's probably your.
- 45:08Carmen Lezeth: You have a sense of it.
- 45:09Carmen Lezeth: His music is super joyful.
- 45:11Andrea Nunez: I know, I know, but you look like it.
- 45:12Carmen Lezeth: I don't mean that I mean because I think that's what I mean for me.
- 45:16Carmen Lezeth: I had to get through it too and I was crying through George Michael's music.
- 45:20Carmen Lezeth: And Prince was even harder.
- 45:21Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to lie, that was a harder thing because that I don't know why that was harder.
- 45:26Carmen Lezeth: You know, prince was first.
- 45:28Carmen Lezeth: It was David Bowie, prince and George Michael and it was like that same 12 months.
- 45:32Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't the same year, because I think David Bowie was January.
- 45:36Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, forget it, he was January, yeah, and it was like that.
- 45:39Carmen Lezeth: But I cried a lot for Prince.
- 45:42Carmen Lezeth: I don't know why it bothered me so much more.
- 45:43Carmen Lezeth: But then I got through it and then I feel like the music brings me happiness now.
- 45:48Carmen Lezeth: And George Michael I just he does have music that is joyful, so it's easy.
- 45:52Carmen Lezeth: Let me see Mariel said they ate her up for you using the N-word in one of her.
- 45:57Carmen Lezeth: But you know these.
- 45:58Carmen Lezeth: We're not going to talk about her no more, because it's true, you know, it's just true, it's stupid shit.
- 46:03Carmen Lezeth: And she got to give us more information.
- 46:05Carmen Lezeth: Chris Cornell was great in context.
- 46:07Carmen Lezeth: He wanted for others to relate too hard to hear given his passing, but a beautiful intent.
- 46:11Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, prince was devastating.
- 46:13Andrea Nunez: Yeah, that was hard.
- 46:14Andrea Nunez: He just he was like you know, he felt he seemed invincible.
- 46:17Andrea Nunez: I guess right, something about it just felt like he's never going to go.
- 46:21Andrea Nunez: And then it was so.
- 46:22Andrea Nunez: It was so sudden and surprising.
- 46:25Rick Costa: And genius.
- 46:26Carmen Lezeth: He's such a genius I don't know.
- 46:27Carmen Lezeth: It was weird.
- 46:28Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, Rick.
- 46:28Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry.
- 46:29Rick Costa: For me it was Whitney.
- 46:29Rick Costa: I was like you're lying.
- 46:30Rick Costa: Stop it Right.
- 46:31Rick Costa: You're lying.
- 46:32Rick Costa: I could not believe it.
- 46:33Rick Costa: I was like you're lying.
- 46:33Rick Costa: Who killed her?
- 46:34Rick Costa: It's like no way Dummy should kill.
- 46:35Rick Costa: No, I was so upset.
- 46:38Carmen Lezeth: But you knew she was in a lot of trouble.
- 46:41Carmen Lezeth: Well, she was trying to get better, I thought the last time I spoke to her before her passing.
- 46:46Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying the the here.
- 46:49Carmen Lezeth: I love Whitney too, but the thing that bothers me about Whitney, and you know again, send me direct messages.
- 46:54Carmen Lezeth: It's fine, I do read them.
- 46:55Carmen Lezeth: I don't know where you respond to Of all the people on the planet that she could have associated herself with.
- 47:02Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying no offense to Mr New Edition.
- 47:06Carmen Lezeth: I just was like those two seem to just not be in a good place with each other when it came to drugs and I just didn't understand the whole Bobby Brown and her connection and it just devastated me because it felt like that combination.
- 47:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm not blaming him, I'm saying you know, when you see two people who might be toxic, you know, and then you would just hear the stories and I was like, and then I think I saw her on some performance.
- 47:29Carmen Lezeth: I didn't see her in person, but I was watching a performance and she couldn't get to that vocal place and that's when I knew I'm like the drugs are just messing up her vocal cords.
- 47:40Carmen Lezeth: Now you know what I mean, cause she or she's not rehearsed, she's not using whatever it is that happens, you know, it just made me so sad, ashley.
- 47:49Carmen Lezeth: Yes, whitney Houston was sad, and then her daughter.
- 47:53Rick Costa: Yeah, that was crazy.
- 47:54Cynthia Ruiz: Didn't they die in like the same way too.
- 47:57Rick Costa: I think it was like on the same day or something.
- 47:59Rick Costa: To the.
- 47:59Andrea Nunez: To the way, and she was in a coma for a long time.
- 48:03Andrea Nunez: I mean, it was just so sad.
- 48:06Carmen Lezeth: The good news is is that Bobby Brown is doing better and he's getting himself, I guess, on track again.
- 48:12Carmen Lezeth: Last time I spoke to him, so through the trade magazines or whatever we read, you know what I mean.
- 48:16Carmen Lezeth: But he, you know, I think New Edition is doing a.
- 48:21Carmen Lezeth: They're going to go on tour soon, so you know.
- 48:24Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, it's just a tough.
- 48:26Carmen Lezeth: This is not it.
- 48:26Carmen Lezeth: How come my show is not full of joy every day?
- 48:30Carmen Lezeth: How we get here?
- 48:30Carmen Lezeth: We started with joy with Tracy Chapman.
- 48:35Carmen Lezeth: Let's end there too, because here's the thing she got her flowers.
- 48:41Carmen Lezeth: Man.
- 48:41Carmen Lezeth: When you watch it, her eyes all glistened in.
- 48:45Carmen Lezeth: She seems so happy, it just felt so full circle.
- 48:49Carmen Lezeth: I wish for one of those moments for myself.
- 48:52Andrea Nunez: That to me.
- 48:53Andrea Nunez: That's why I love going to live shows right Like you love a song, you love an artist and you feel like they give you so much Right and you have this experience together and if you can see that smile and you see them receive it, you feel like you're giving something back.
- 49:09Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah.
- 49:09Andrea Nunez: And it's just this really like beautiful synergy between you and the artist, you like collective view, the group and the artist.
- 49:15Andrea Nunez: It's just.
- 49:16Andrea Nunez: It was such an amazing, beautiful moment, yeah, to actually be able to see it, like you said, like to see her receive.
- 49:22Andrea Nunez: That was so amazing.
- 49:24Rick Costa: There's been.
- 49:25Rick Costa: There's been music that I listened to and I was like, didn't care for it.
- 49:28Rick Costa: But then when I heard them live all of a sudden I was like, oh, I like them now Sweet.
- 49:32Carmen Lezeth: Are you saying that about fast car?
- 49:33Carmen Lezeth: No, oh, okay, I didn't know what you were for.
- 49:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm like oh so you never heard fast cars?
- 49:37Carmen Lezeth: Is that what I'm hearing?
- 49:38Carmen Lezeth: Let me see.
- 49:39Carmen Lezeth: Mario said it was Whitney's brother who introduced her to the drugs.
- 49:42Carmen Lezeth: He admitted that later.
- 49:43Carmen Lezeth: It doesn't matter who introduced her to the, I've been introduced to drugs.
- 49:46Carmen Lezeth: But you know you hang around with other people doing drugs.
- 49:48Carmen Lezeth: It makes it harder for you to walk away.
- 49:50Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying I don't know if that relationship was as good.
- 49:54Carmen Lezeth: For again, I'm not blaming him, I'm just saying it's such a waste.
- 49:59Carmen Lezeth: But you know, I don't know how the world works, I don't know how all of this functions.
- 50:02Carmen Lezeth: I just I miss Whitney.
- 50:04Carmen Lezeth: I miss her.
- 50:05Carmen Lezeth: I listen to her music all the time too.
- 50:06Carmen Lezeth: Her voice was so soulful and unique and her voice was perfection.
- 50:11Carmen Lezeth: Her voice was perfection and I can't say I think the only other person I would say that about that can hit every note.
- 50:20Carmen Lezeth: It's not even hitting notes.
- 50:21Carmen Lezeth: It's like knowing the notes to hit would be Barbara Streisand.
- 50:24Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 50:25Carmen Lezeth: Like you just sing and you know where you're going and it makes sense to anyone listening to it.
- 50:30Carmen Lezeth: That's how I felt about Whitney and that's how I feel about Barbara Streisand.
- 50:33Carmen Lezeth: Like it doesn't matter whether you like the songs or not, it's just that is gifted.
- 50:38Carmen Lezeth: That is gifted and then worked on and perfected.
- 50:42Rick Costa: And she knew how to make songs her own too, with her own style to it.
- 50:45Rick Costa: You know she could take I will always love you, a country song by Dolly Parton and put her own flavor on that thing, and, man, that became a hit.
- 50:51Rick Costa: We all know that.
- 50:52Carmen Lezeth: One of her best songs was singing the national anthem.
- 50:54Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I could watch that over and over I was like how can you make that something where I'm crying?
- 51:01Carmen Lezeth: Like what music brings you joy?
- 51:06Carmen Lezeth: Oh, good question.
- 51:07Carmen Lezeth: Let's start with Cynthia, who has not spoken enough, so it's going to make it really hard for my clips.
- 51:14Cynthia Ruiz: I like all kinds of music, but like anything that's upbeat and anything that can make you like think of memories.
- 51:20Cynthia Ruiz: Like, if I'm listening to 80 songs, think of good memories from the 80s and things like that.
- 51:25Carmen Lezeth: Oh, you know what I heard the other day?
- 51:26Carmen Lezeth: Shout, shout.
- 51:28Carmen Lezeth: Was that just for fears?
- 51:31Carmen Lezeth: Yes, what's one of your favorite songs from back then?
- 51:37Cynthia Ruiz: September from Earth, Wind and.
- 51:39Rick Costa: Fire is one of my favorites.
- 51:41Cynthia Ruiz: It's one of my favorites.
- 51:42Carmen Lezeth: And then Lover from Prince.
- 51:44Carmen Lezeth: Oh, what's some from Prince, I'm sorry.
- 51:46Carmen Lezeth: What Lover.
- 51:48Cynthia Ruiz: Oh yes, that's my absolute favorite song from them, andrea.
- 51:56Andrea Nunez: What music brings me joy is like, primarily like dance music.
- 51:59Andrea Nunez: I've been listening to Tina Maria a lot lately, really, yeah.
- 52:10Rick Costa: I'm like you, just immediately pulls you in and you're just dancing Like that's, that's the music.
- 52:14Andrea Nunez: That's just super joyful for me, but that's for whatever reason.
- 52:18Andrea Nunez: I was on a road trip and I was like let's just listen to the 80s R&B.
- 52:22Andrea Nunez: And then she came up and I was like Marie is the bomb, let's just listen to Tina Marie for four hours.
- 52:28Carmen Lezeth: Yes, tina Maria was one of those people that when I found out she was white, I was like what Something is happening?
- 52:33Carmen Lezeth: But she is invited to the cookout for shout.
- 52:36Carmen Lezeth: I have to say this and I you know people going to be like what is Carmen's issue with Andrea?
- 52:42Carmen Lezeth: But if somebody gave me a multiple choice test and was like Carmen, let's see how well you know Andrea, I would fail every time.
- 52:51Carmen Lezeth: I would have been like she loves dance music.
- 52:55Carmen Lezeth: Tina Marie, never, not once in a million years, not one.
- 52:59Carmen Lezeth: But let me reverse it.
- 53:02Carmen Lezeth: If I turned it around and they gave you, actually I think all of you in the room would be like George Michael's friends, it was the third one, it was my third favorite, you know.
- 53:18Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I wonder if Andrea knows.
- 53:20Andrea Nunez: I don't think about it, I don't know, off the top of my head.
- 53:25Rick Costa: I have to really dig in Michael Jackson.
- 53:28Carmen Lezeth: No, although I do like Michael Jackson.
- 53:29Carmen Lezeth: But no, I don't think I don't know if you guys would know, but when I say it you'll know you don't want to take a guess.
- 53:34Carmen Lezeth: Died a long time ago, Part of a band.
- 53:36Carmen Lezeth: He did a movie about him.
- 53:37Carmen Lezeth: Now you're throwing me off.
- 53:38Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 53:39Carmen Lezeth: No, not Michael Jackson.
- 53:41Carmen Lezeth: We will think about it.
- 53:44Andrea Nunez: We got to get the movie about him.
- 53:45Andrea Nunez: Johnny Cash, the doors yes, hey, tony, how you doing baby.
- 53:54Rick Costa: Yes.
- 53:55Carmen Lezeth: Johnny Cash was the right.
- 53:56Carmen Lezeth: Wow, freddie.
- 54:00Rick Costa: Mercury Queen oh really Okay.
- 54:06Andrea Nunez: No, I would not have guessed that Really.
- 54:08Carmen Lezeth: Oh, yeah, Okay, Absolutely.
- 54:08Carmen Lezeth: Oh, my God, yeah, that's a good one.
- 54:13Carmen Lezeth: That's like I would say that's my favorite band or you know, like, but it's Freddie Mercury and every single song.
- 54:20Carmen Lezeth: There's not.
- 54:20Carmen Lezeth: It's just yeah, I pick them over the Beatles any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
- 54:25Carmen Lezeth: No offense to the Beatles fans, but like when people talk about the Beatles, I'm like if I'm going to go into that world over there, it's going to be Freddie Mercury and Queen.
- 54:34Cynthia Ruiz: See, I would have said for me, queen and the Bee Gees, every song of the Bee Gees, oh the.
- 54:41Carmen Lezeth: Bee Gees.
- 54:41Carmen Lezeth: Oh, ray Charles, good one.
- 54:44Carmen Lezeth: Bee Gees are getting a new kind of revamped music out there again.
- 54:50Carmen Lezeth: Somebody redid a song or something and they're out there again.
- 54:52Andrea Nunez: Well, there's a documentary.
- 54:54Andrea Nunez: Have you seen that, cynthia?
- 54:55Andrea Nunez: The documentary?
- 54:55Andrea Nunez: It's on HBO.
- 54:57Andrea Nunez: No, it's good, really good.
- 54:58Andrea Nunez: I watch that.
- 55:01Carmen Lezeth: Not including gospel music, because I know you're going to say well, mine is Christian, so we know you love Christian music.
- 55:07Carmen Lezeth: So tell us your Christian music and then tell us your other people who don't listen to Christian music music.
- 55:13Rick Costa: I mean, it's kind of like what Cynthia said I like upbeat and I do like to dance, even though I don't dance.
- 55:19Rick Costa: But I like it because it puts me in a good mood, you know, give me a little pep in my step, a little bit Like Smile, for example.
- 55:24Rick Costa: That's why I like that song a lot.
- 55:26Rick Costa: Yeah, he's a good one, obviously.
- 55:29Carmen Lezeth: I like the favorite Whitney.
- 55:30Carmen Lezeth: I never asked you that.
- 55:31Rick Costa: Whitney, oh my gosh.
- 55:33Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I want to dance with somebody.
- 55:35Rick Costa: That's good too.
- 55:35Rick Costa: I saw the funniest video of it was a grandma holding a three year old and they had that music playing in the background.
- 55:41Rick Costa: And then they showed the granddaughter, when the grandma was really old, holding the grandma and dancing to the song.
- 55:50Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I think you've got that to me, right?
- 55:51Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I think so.
- 55:52Carmen Lezeth: I think you've got that to me, yeah.
- 55:53Rick Costa: That was so cute, so cute.
- 55:54Rick Costa: I like Whitney and Mariah, the old Mariah.
- 55:57Rick Costa: I think I said this before.
- 55:57Rick Costa: I don't know why you have to qualify it that way.
- 56:00Rick Costa: Because some of the new stuff is different.
- 56:02Rick Costa: Tony's like favorite songs.
- 56:04Carmen Lezeth: I'm here all day.
- 56:06Rick Costa: Favorite Whitney song you still haven't told me.
- 56:08Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to say it's the greatest love of all for me, but go ahead.
- 56:11Carmen Lezeth: I mean that was almost nothing she said.
- 56:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't really like a lot.
- 56:15Rick Costa: I mean it's hard to pick one.
- 56:16Rick Costa: It's hard to pick one.
- 56:17Rick Costa: I like all her stuff.
- 56:18Rick Costa: I can't say it's easy to see.
- 56:20Rick Costa: You know it's so funny.
- 56:26Carmen Lezeth: When I'm in my car, though, I can sing.
- 56:28Carmen Lezeth: Everybody sings good in the car and in the shower.
- 56:31Rick Costa: I believe they did that with me.
- 56:33Rick Costa: They did my music, and then they had me in the car and then they took out the and they did.
- 56:38Carmen Lezeth: I would sound as good as JLo.
- 56:39Carmen Lezeth: That's funny.
- 56:40Carmen Lezeth: My love is your love and I'm going to say it.
- 56:44Cynthia Ruiz: I'm going to say it, I'm going to say it.
- 56:45Rick Costa: I'm going to say it, I'm going to say it, I'm going to say it my love is your love and your love is my love.
- 56:53Carmen Lezeth: I know that song.
- 56:53Carmen Lezeth: That's a good song.
- 56:57Rick Costa: Rick, just the other day I saw Whitney.
- 56:58Rick Costa: It was just a clip of Whitney with Enrique Glacias the young, the son, and nothing against Enrique, but she sang circles around that man.
- 57:08Rick Costa: I'm sorry.
- 57:09Carmen Lezeth: But she could sing circles around anybody.
- 57:11Rick Costa: That's true.
- 57:12Carmen Lezeth: Okay, we not getting off of here until I hear your favorite Whitney song.
- 57:17Rick Costa: I just pick one.
- 57:18Rick Costa: I will always love you.
- 57:20Carmen Lezeth: I know it's corny, but you want me to send that for you too.
- 57:22Carmen Lezeth: Okay, ready and uh, I'll tell you.
- 57:24Carmen Lezeth: I'll tell you singing.
- 57:26Rick Costa: It's a Kevin Costner.
- 57:28Rick Costa: I just you know what's so funny the thing is.
- 57:30Rick Costa: I know I can't sing.
- 57:32Carmen Lezeth: I know I can.
- 57:32Carmen Lezeth: I don't even pretend you know what I mean, but that's the hardest song to even try to keep to Shut up, tony.
- 57:41Carmen Lezeth: I don't even have the breath for it, corny Rick.
- 57:42Carmen Lezeth: She shut up, tony, but you know what?
- 57:44Carmen Lezeth: Was funny about the song was all these people would say call the radio.
- 57:48Rick Costa: I want to dedicate this to my girlfriend.
- 57:49Rick Costa: Like you realize, this is a breakup song.
- 57:51Rick Costa: It's still a beautiful song, though I said no, it's the way she sings it.
- 57:56Carmen Lezeth: That's so beautiful.
- 57:57Carmen Lezeth: I will say that I listened to Dolly Parton's version, you know, and I find it fascinating, like I would have never like.
- 58:05Carmen Lezeth: This is where I think the genius is.
- 58:06Carmen Lezeth: You hear a song and then you're like, oh, you're like I'm not gonna do that, I'm not gonna do that, I'm not gonna do that, I'm not, I need to be part of the video.
- 58:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't need to be part of the video.
- 58:15Carmen Lezeth: I've never, I've never tried to do the rapper's song.
- 58:19Carmen Lezeth: And then you're like, oh, you know what, I could cover that, or I can do it differently, or I could.
- 58:23Carmen Lezeth: I and you know again, I have much respect and love for Dolly Parton, but I would have never taken her song and been like I can do that justice and make it into a RRB love.
- 58:32Carmen Lezeth: So you don't never.
- 58:33Carmen Lezeth: And so I think that's the genius of it, right, well, okay, well, where past?
- 58:37Rick Costa: the hour mark.
- 58:37Carmen Lezeth: I appreciate everyone fun and light, and I just do want to bring it back to Tracy Chapman.
- 58:42Carmen Lezeth: Thank you for that beautiful moment, tracy, and I forgot his name, mr Holmes, luke Holmes, what's his name, luke?
- 58:50Carmen Lezeth: That was just a beautiful moment.
- 58:53Carmen Lezeth: I'm so glad we got to share that collectively.
- 58:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, goodnight everyone and remember it's all about the joy.
- 58:57Carmen Lezeth: We'll see you next week.
- 58:58Carmen Lezeth: Thank you everyone.
- 58:59Carmen Lezeth: Bye, bye, thanks for stopping by.
- 59:03Carmen Lezeth: All about the joy.
- 59:04Carmen Lezeth: Be better and stay beautiful folks.
- 59:07Carmen Lezeth: Have a sweet day.
