- 0:01The Flame of Aspiration is the force that keeps the Sadak
- 0:05moving forward in his spiritual practice, regardless of the
- 0:09forces that threaten or oppose that progress, whether from
- 0:14outside or which rise up internally.
- 0:18Everyone goes through changes of mood and energy as the three
- 0:22Gunas fluctuate. Even in the darkest periods when
- 0:26Thomas takes hold of the being, there is that flame hidden deep
- 0:31within the secret heart that is oriented towards the divine.
- 0:37If all else seems to fail, it is that flame which needs to be
- 0:42kept lit and be the anchor of the Sodic's efforts.
- 0:48The spiritual path is long and arduous.
- 0:51There will always be ups and downs along the way.
- 0:56Sometimes the seeker comes across a particularly difficult
- 0:59set of challenges, health challenges, vital desires,
- 1:03rising up ambitions, mental cloudiness, doubt, fear,
- 1:09hesitation and impatience. It may not be possible to avoid
- 1:14facing any or all of these issues.
- 1:17What is possible is that one keep the flame of aspiration at
- 1:22the core of the being and from there develop the resolution to
- 1:26continue the journey come what may.
- 1:30Starting from aspiration 1 then adds patience and perseverance
- 1:36as the watchwords for eventual progress and success in the
- 1:41endeavor. Srioro Bindo writes quote Do not
- 1:46allow any discouragement to come upon you, and have no distrust
- 1:50of the Divine grace. Whatever difficulties are
- 1:54outside you, whatever weaknesses are inside you, if you keep
- 1:59firm, hold on your faith and your aspiration, the secret
- 2:03power will carry you through. Even if you are oppressed with
- 2:08opposition and difficulties, even if you stumble, even if the
- 2:12way seems close to you, keep hold on your aspiration.
- 2:17Keep firm on the way. Then in the end, things open out
- 2:22of themselves and circumstances yield to the inner spirit.
