  Speaker 2: Real grateful for that. You know, it's funny. I remember

  Speaker 2: when I first started out in the radio. A lot

  Speaker 2: of my peers laughed at me. Some of it was

  Speaker 2: being mean spirited, some of it was just you know,

  Speaker 2: mocking me. I'm used to stuff like that. But I

  Speaker 2: had a special guest on my show, Joe Oldstein, and
• 0:32
  Speaker 2: you know something, man, he says something that was I
• 0:35
  Speaker 2: can't remember the scripture. I don't know exactly how it
• 0:38
  Speaker 2: were like we were having a long conversation, but the
• 0:41
  Speaker 2: gist of it was, don't be upset with where you
• 0:44
  Speaker 2: are now, and don't be upset with the small things
• 0:46
  Speaker 2: in your life. Be grateful for the small things and

  Speaker 2: the small position that you have right now, because you
• 0:52
  Speaker 2: don't know where that's going. You don't know what that's
• 0:55
  Speaker 2: gonna be one day. You don't know what that's gonna
• 0:57
  Speaker 2: lead to. And that was very warming team hear him

  Speaker 2: say that, But it also reminded me of when I

  Speaker 2: started in radio, how small it was. It reminded me

  Speaker 2: of when I started in stand up making twenty five

  Speaker 2: dollars a show. It reminds me of not having a

  Speaker 2: home at a period in my life and what God

  Speaker 2: has allowed me to live in now. So don't be

  Speaker 2: distraught over your position now, and don't be ungrateful or

  Speaker 2: unappreciative for the things you have now because you don't

  Speaker 2: know what that's going to grow into. And that's really
• 1:31
  Speaker 2: the gist of that I got from what he was saying.

  Speaker 2: I just wanted to share that with you, that where
• 1:36
  Speaker 2: you are now is so temporary because now, like I've
• 1:39
  Speaker 2: said before, now is a fleeting moment. Right after you

  Speaker 2: finish saying now, that moment that you claimed as now,
• 1:46
  Speaker 2: that's gone.

  Speaker 1: So the where you are now is a very fleeting process. Now.

  Speaker 2: You can change where you are now, and you can

  Speaker 2: change how you feel about where you're at now, and

  Speaker 2: you can change about where you're going by simply changing

  Speaker 2: your mind. It is no difference, I'm telling you, folks.

  Speaker 2: The thing that I've learned about successful people is not
• 2:11
  Speaker 2: so much of what they do.

  Speaker 1: It's not what they have.

  Speaker 2: The biggest thing I've learned about successful people is how

  Speaker 2: they think. That's the thing that's different. It's how they think.

  Speaker 2: And I'm telling you that you can change the way

  Speaker 2: you think on any subject and start becoming successful towards
• 2:32
  Speaker 2: that starting now, you have to understand that. Man, the

  Speaker 2: biggest difference I've noticed between successful people and non successful
• 2:42
  Speaker 2: people is how they think. I was reading what God
• 2:47
  Speaker 2: said that he was taught all wrong about money. He
• 2:50
  Speaker 2: said that his father was very negative about money. He
• 2:54
  Speaker 2: all throughout his life he heard his father say, you know,

  Speaker 2: people who got money have walked on somebody to get it,

  Speaker 2: or cheated somebody to get it. People who have money,
• 3:03
  Speaker 2: money is the root of all evil. Money is money
• 3:07
  Speaker 2: is this And people who got money, you know, don't
• 3:10
  Speaker 2: deserve it.

  Speaker 1: They've done something wrong to get it. Yah to y'all.

  Speaker 2: So he said, he grew up the whole time thinking
• 3:15
  Speaker 2: that having money was something was wrong with that. He
• 3:18
  Speaker 2: discovered that it wasn't.

  Speaker 1: Look.

  Speaker 2: You can choose to be successful anywhere you want to.

  Speaker 2: I've chosen several ways to be successful. I want to
• 3:27
  Speaker 2: be a very, very successful father. I think that's one
• 3:30
  Speaker 2: of the things that's paramount in my life. That I
• 3:32
  Speaker 2: really am working hard right now to become a successful father,
• 3:38
  Speaker 2: not a successful father in terms of money, but a
• 3:42
  Speaker 2: successful father in terms of offering the amount of love
• 3:46
  Speaker 2: and guidance and leadership and the example that my children
• 3:50
  Speaker 2: need to look at. That's what I'm really really working
• 3:53
  Speaker 2: hard at now. I want to be successful as a father,
• 3:56
  Speaker 2: but also I want to be successful as a husband.

  Speaker 2: I want Marjorie to always know that she can count
• 4:02
  Speaker 2: on me, to not have to wonder about me or
• 4:05
  Speaker 2: look for me.

  Speaker 1: You know.

  Speaker 2: I want her to feel secure in the fact that
• 4:10
  Speaker 2: I really have gotten it right, that I really am
• 4:14
  Speaker 2: focused on being a good husband to her because it
• 4:17
  Speaker 2: means so much to me, you know. So I'm working
• 4:20
  Speaker 2: hard on a lot of levels. I'm working hard and
• 4:23
  Speaker 2: trying very strong to be a successful motivator of people.
• 4:27
  Speaker 2: I want to be a share of information to people
• 4:30
  Speaker 2: that will uplift others and give others the same things
• 4:33
  Speaker 2: that I've learned through the trials and tribulations of my life.
• 4:37
  Speaker 2: But at the same time share that information and use
• 4:41
  Speaker 2: the power of this microphone to uplift people, you know,
• 4:44
  Speaker 2: not to destroy. My show is not about Ooh, guess
• 4:47
  Speaker 2: what so and so said? Guess what so and so did.

  Speaker 2: I don't like mean spirited things about people. You know,
• 4:52
  Speaker 2: I joke with people who calling this that's another thing.
• 4:55
  Speaker 2: But I don't like destroying people with the power of
• 4:57
  Speaker 2: the microphone. So I'm working very hard on being success.

  Speaker 2: That's a lot of areas of my life now. Also
• 5:02
  Speaker 2: I do care about being financially successful too, because my father.

  Speaker 2: One of the gifts he gave me was very simple gift.
• 5:09
  Speaker 2: He told me a long time ago. He said, son,
• 5:12
  Speaker 2: the best thing you can do for poor people is
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: not be one of them. And that stuck with me.
• 5:18
  Speaker 2: And this was a hard working man who was a
• 5:21
  Speaker 2: coal miner who worked construction his entire life. My father
• 5:25
  Speaker 2: didn't have an easy life man. My father didn't sit
• 5:28
  Speaker 2: behind a microphone. My father didn't come to work and
• 5:31
  Speaker 2: people cheered for him. My father wasn't famous. My father
• 5:35
  Speaker 2: was just a go get it dude. That he instilled
• 5:39
  Speaker 2: that in me and I've taken that and applied it
• 5:41
  Speaker 2: to my craft and I thank God for him for that.

  Speaker 2: But I do try to be financially successful so that
• 5:47
  Speaker 2: I can do some things with it to help some
• 5:49
  Speaker 2: other people. Now, am I opposed to having nice things? No?
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: Do I apologize for having nice things? No?
• 5:56
  Speaker 2: And why should I I work? You know, I'm not

  Speaker 2: and I'm not on the radio asking to give me money,
• 6:03
  Speaker 2: you know, so I can go buy a car. I'm working,
• 6:06
  Speaker 2: so I don't feel how you want to feel, and
• 6:08
  Speaker 2: other people do feel that way about it. But if
• 6:11
  Speaker 2: success in terms of finance is what you're lacking, you
• 6:15
  Speaker 2: can go about the business of doing that. I'm writing
• 6:18
  Speaker 2: a book, and that whole book is about teaching people
• 6:21
  Speaker 2: how to become successful. And man, I'm breaking it down
• 6:24
  Speaker 2: in a way where everybody can get it, man, because
• 6:27
  Speaker 2: I want the college student to get it, you know.
• 6:30
  Speaker 2: I want the working mom to get it, to single
• 6:32
  Speaker 2: mom to get it. The hard working father that has
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: been trying to hold his family together can get it.
• 6:38
  Speaker 2: The father that ain't ever got it together and feel
• 6:41
  Speaker 2: that because of that reason, he can't be the father
• 6:43
  Speaker 2: he needs to be. I'm writing something, man, to put
• 6:46
  Speaker 2: it into words, to let you know that God is
• 6:49
  Speaker 2: a forgiving God, and that God is a merciful God,
• 6:53
  Speaker 2: and that God can get you out of any situation
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: you find yourself in. You just can't beat yourself up

  Speaker 2: every time you make a mistake. I make mistakes all
• 7:02
  Speaker 2: the time, man, I just got to remind myself to
• 7:05
  Speaker 2: get up I ask God for forgiveness, I call on
• 7:08
  Speaker 2: his mercy and his grace, and I get up and
• 7:11
  Speaker 2: I go again. But it's coming, man. And if finance
• 7:14
  Speaker 2: success is what you want, you got to change your mind.

  Speaker 2: You got to start thinking about how to produce it.

  Speaker 2: The first thing you do is you got to ask.

  Speaker 2: You got to ask to have a life and have
• 7:26
  Speaker 2: a life more abundantly. That's a scripture that He comes
• 7:30
  Speaker 2: to you to give you life and to give you
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: life more abundantly.

  Speaker 1: That's a scripture. That ain't a joke, that ain't a theory.

  Speaker 2: That's a fact, and the fact that if you don't
• 7:40
  Speaker 2: have a life of abundance, you can get that by asking.

  Speaker 2: Then it starts by believing. And how too, don't even
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: worry about that. He takes care of that himself. He'll
• 7:49
  Speaker 2: send the stuff your way. But you got to be
• 7:51
  Speaker 2: willing to put some effort in this thing now, and
• 7:53
  Speaker 2: you can do it.
