• 0:44
Speaker 4: How long is there going to be chaos at America's
• 0:46
Speaker 4: airports and the cancelation of flights at record numbers. When
• 0:50
Speaker 4: will Americans get paid that work for our government. We've
• 0:54
Speaker 4: got those answers for you, But first want to tell
• 0:57
Speaker 4: you about our friends over Patriot Mobile. Every so long,
• 1:00

Speaker 4: freedoms are. We can't afford to take our rights for granted.
• 1:07
Speaker 4: We must draw a line in the sand and our
• 1:09
Speaker 4: friends at Patriot Mobile have been doing just that for
• 1:13
Speaker 4: more than twelve years. The truth is there is only
• 1:16
Speaker 4: one provider that boldly stands in the gap for Americans
• 1:20
Speaker 4: who believe freedom is worth fighting for, and that company
• 1:23

Speaker 3: It's a forty seven morning Update and it starts right now.
• 2:52
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 2:53
Speaker 4: The government shutdown is over, sort of Democrats caving and
• 2:58
Speaker 4: they are finally saying we can open the government again.
• 3:02
Speaker 4: This is the longest government shut down in history. But
• 3:05
Speaker 4: the real question is for many of you, is well,
• 3:08
Speaker 4: when will things actually be reopen? How much chaos is
• 3:12
Speaker 4: are going to be in the skies, When will people
• 3:14
Speaker 4: start getting their paychecks? Maybe you or your family members
• 3:17
Speaker 4: who have been furloughed in essence by our government. Well,
• 3:22
Speaker 4: we have a lot of answers to those questions, and
• 3:25
Speaker 4: the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, called Republicans and
• 3:28
Speaker 4: Democrats back to Washington to vote on the bill to
• 3:32
Speaker 4: get the government back open. Hear all the details of
• 3:36
Speaker 4: what Speaker Johnson had to say about moving forward, how
• 3:40
Speaker 4: things are going to work.
• 3:41
Speaker 5: Very thankful to see you all this morning.
• 3:43
Speaker 6: I'm thankful to welcome you to what appears to be
• 3:47
Speaker 6: the beginning of the end of the longest government shutdown
• 3:50
Speaker 6: in US history. As shameful as that is, I don't
• 3:53
Speaker 6: think it's coincidental, you know how I think. But it's
• 3:56
Speaker 6: after forty days of wandering in the wilderness and making
• 3:59
Speaker 6: the American peace people suffer needlessly, some Senate Democrats finally
• 4:04
Speaker 6: have stepped forward to end the pain. It appears to
• 4:06
Speaker 6: us this morning that our long national nightmare is finally
• 4:09
Speaker 6: coming to an end, and we're grateful for that at
• 4:11
Speaker 6: least some Democrats now finally appear ready to do what
• 4:15
Speaker 6: Republicans and President Trump and millions of hard working American
• 4:19
Speaker 6: people have been asking them to do for weeks. As
• 4:22
Speaker 6: we said from the beginning, the people's government cannot be
• 4:25
Speaker 6: held hostage to further anyone's political agenda. That was never right,
• 4:31
Speaker 6: and shutting down the government never produces anything. It never
• 4:34
Speaker 6: has if you study history, and so here we are.
• 4:37
Speaker 6: I want to remind everybody this morning of another critical
• 4:40
Speaker 6: point that you've heard me here repeat over and over
• 4:43
Speaker 6: over the last several weeks. It's something that I and
• 4:46
Speaker 6: Leader John Thune and President Trump and every Republican leader
• 4:50
Speaker 6: have all said repeatedly from the beginning, we have always
• 4:53
Speaker 6: been open to finding solutions to reduce the oppressive costs
• 4:58
Speaker 6: of health care under the Unaffordable Care Act. We just
• 5:02
Speaker 6: made clear that we would not and should not ever
• 5:04
Speaker 6: do that that is negotiate as hostages. And I've also
• 5:08
Speaker 6: reminded you here every morning at this press conference. Throughout
• 5:11
Speaker 6: the shutdown, Republicans have not just been talking about reducing
• 5:14
Speaker 6: costs and fraud and abuse in so many areas and
• 5:18
Speaker 6: in healthcare. We've been actually passing new laws to accomplish
• 5:22
Speaker 6: that urgent mission for the people, and we will continue
• 5:25
Speaker 6: to do so. So here's where we are by way
• 5:27
Speaker 6: of schedule, just so you know you're following, if you're
• 5:29
Speaker 6: not at home, if you're waking up to this good
• 5:31
Speaker 6: news this morning that the Senate's vote last late last
• 5:35
  Speaker 6: night of.
• 5:35
Speaker 5: Sixty to forty opens the door.
• 5:37
Speaker 6: Now the Senate is moving forward on an amended House
• 5:41
Speaker 6: cr continuing Resolution that will reopen the government until January thirtieth.
• 5:46
Speaker 6: Added to that are provisions to fully fund snap provisions
• 5:50
Speaker 6: through the end of the next fiscal year, which is
• 5:51
Speaker 6: September twenty twenty six, guaranteed back pay for all federal
• 5:56
Speaker 6: workers who have been made to endure these hardships over
• 5:59
Speaker 6: the last several weeks. And it also includes passage of
• 6:01
Speaker 6: three appropriations bills, which we're grateful to be.
• 6:04
Speaker 5: Moving through the process.
• 6:05
Speaker 6: That is the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs Bill, It's the
• 6:09
Speaker 6: Agriculture Bill, and the Legislative Branch Bill. The Senate will
• 6:12
Speaker 6: be back in session this morning to finish their job,
• 6:15
Speaker 6: and we're certainly praying that they do. They'll need unanimous
• 6:18
Speaker 6: consent from all senators to fast track their final vote.
• 6:21
Speaker 6: As you know, there's some procedural hurdles that one or
• 6:24
Speaker 6: more could throw in the way, but we certainly hope
• 6:26
Speaker 6: that they won't do that because so many people across
• 6:30
Speaker 6: this country are desperate for the government to reopen. At
• 6:33
Speaker 6: the very moment that they do that final vote, I
• 6:36
Speaker 6: will call all House members to return to Washington as
• 6:40
Speaker 6: quickly as possible. We'll give a thirty six hour formal
• 6:43
Speaker 6: and official notice, so that we can vote as soon
• 6:46
Speaker 6: as possible to pass the amendedcy Our Bill and get
• 6:48
Speaker 6: it to the President's desk. As you all know, and
• 6:50
Speaker 6: he said as recently as last night, I was with
• 6:52
Speaker 6: him and he told the press he said, we want
• 6:55
Speaker 6: to get the government open. He's very anxious to get
• 6:57
Speaker 6: the government reopened and to end the Schumer shutdown. All
• 7:00
Speaker 6: are with regard to the travel challenges. I spoke yesterday
• 7:03
Speaker 6: at some link with the Transportation Secretary of Sean Duffy,
• 7:05
Speaker 6: my former colleague and good friend, and he lamented the
• 7:09
Speaker 6: serious situation that we have with air travel in the US.
• 7:11
Speaker 6: He's bent over backwards, as all members of the administration
• 7:14
Speaker 6: and the Cabinet have done in all of their areas
• 7:16
Speaker 6: of jurisdiction, to try to keep the government working for
• 7:18
Speaker 6: the people and to mitigate the pain and the harm.
• 7:21
Speaker 6: But the problem we have with air travel is that
• 7:23
Speaker 6: our air traffic controllers are overworked and unpaid, and many
• 7:26
Speaker 6: of them have called in sick. That's a very stressful job,
• 7:29
Speaker 6: and even more stressful exponentially when they're having trouble providing
• 7:32
Speaker 6: for their families. And so air travel has been grinded
• 7:36
Speaker 6: to a halt in many places, and as of Sunday,
• 7:39
Speaker 6: nearly half of all domestic flights and US flights were
• 7:42
Speaker 6: either canceled or delayed.
• 7:44
Speaker 5: And it's a very serious situation.
• 7:45
Speaker 6: So I'm saying that by way of reminder, I'm stating
• 7:48
Speaker 6: the obvious to all my colleagues, Republicans and Democrats in
• 7:51
  Speaker 6: the House.
• 7:52
Speaker 5: You need to begin right now, returning to the Hill.
• 7:55
Speaker 5: We have to do this as quickly as possible.
• 7:56
Speaker 6: Now we look forward to the government reopening this week's
• 8:00
Speaker 6: so Congress can get back can get back to our
• 8:02
Speaker 6: a regular legislative session. We have a lot of business
• 8:05
Speaker 6: to do, as you all know, and we will be
• 8:07
Speaker 6: working in earnest will be There'll be long days and
• 8:10
Speaker 6: long nights here for the foreseeable future to make up
• 8:13
Speaker 6: for all this lost time that was imposed upon us.
• 8:16
Speaker 6: I want to close with something that's important. I think
• 8:19
Speaker 6: it's important to say that this is genuine. I mean
• 8:22
Speaker 6: this sincerely. We applaud the seven Senate Democrats and one
• 8:25
Speaker 6: independent Senator who did the right thing. They decided to
• 8:30
Speaker 6: put principle over their their personal politics and and my
• 8:34
Speaker 6: urgent plea of all my colleagues in the House, and
• 8:36
Speaker 6: that means every Democrat in the House is to to think, carefully, pray,
• 8:41
Speaker 6: and finally do the right thing and help us to
• 8:44
Speaker 6: bring an end to the pain of the American people.
• 8:46
Speaker 6: This has gone on too long. Too many people have
• 8:48
Speaker 6: suffered and it's long overdue. And that's the update I
• 8:51
Speaker 6: wanted to give you this morning. There are probably lots
• 8:53
Speaker 6: of questions, but I'm going to get a lot of
• 8:55
Speaker 6: my own questions answered later today, so stay tuned for more.
• 8:58
  Speaker 5: Thanks.
• 8:58
Speaker 4: So there it is a Speaker of the House explaining
• 9:00
Speaker 4: exactly how this is going to go down and how
• 9:03
Speaker 4: quickly we could see things turn back to normal.
• 9:07
Speaker 3: It's going to be a little chilly, but I will
• 9:09
  Speaker 3: do my duty.
• 9:09
Speaker 4: I'm getting back to DC and we're going to open
• 9:12
Speaker 4: this country back up and get it back on track.
• 9:15
Speaker 4: That is another aspect of what has been said by
• 9:18
Speaker 4: many Republicans are saying, hey, we've got thousands of flights
• 9:21
Speaker 4: canceled in recent days to the shutdown. Some lawmakers opted
• 9:25
Speaker 4: for the modes of translation to the Capitol like they're
• 9:27
Speaker 4: actually driving. One Republican representative, Derek Van Orden, said he
• 9:32
Speaker 4: was making the sixteen hour drive from his Wisconsin district
• 9:35
Speaker 4: because air travel is just too unreliable.
• 9:37
Speaker 3: And the Republican controlled House is.
• 9:39
Speaker 4: Due to vote Wednesday afternoon on a compromise that would
• 9:43
Speaker 4: restore funding the government agencies and into shutdown that start
• 9:46
Speaker 4: on October one. The Republican controlled Senate approved the deal
• 9:50
Speaker 4: Monday night. House Speaker Johnson said he expected to be
• 9:53
Speaker 4: pass his chamber as well, and then President Donald Trump
• 9:57
Speaker 4: has come out calling the deal very good. Expected to
• 10:00
Speaker 4: obviously sign it into law immediately. Now, within days, the
• 10:03
Speaker 4: US government could be fully functioning again, bring relief to
• 10:07
Speaker 4: federal workers who have missed paychecks and low income families
• 10:10
Speaker 4: who defend on food subsidies as well. It could take
• 10:13
Speaker 4: several days. And this is the problem so many have
• 10:16
Speaker 4: asked me about this. It could take several days for
• 10:18
Speaker 4: the nation's air travel system to return to normal. The deal,
• 10:22
Speaker 4: by the way, which has divided Democrats because they love
• 10:25
Speaker 4: holding you hostage, had sought to extend healthcare substias for
• 10:28
Speaker 4: twenty four million Americans past the end of the year
• 10:31
Speaker 4: when they were due to expire. Now this also tells
• 10:33
Speaker 4: you just how broken Obama here is that these types
• 10:36
Speaker 4: of substas are actually needed.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: Yesterday, it was very interesting on CNN.
• 10:41
Speaker 4: One of the things that was said there on CNN
• 10:44
Speaker 4: about the subsidies was that they were talking about like
• 10:47
Speaker 4: how much they'd actually gone up, like how much the
• 10:49
Speaker 4: subsetas had skyrocketed, And you just kind of have to laugh.
• 10:54
Speaker 4: When you see that Anavar has said, quote, American healthcare
• 10:58
Speaker 4: premiums are going up one hundred two hundred three hundred percent.
• 11:02
Speaker 4: I thought Obamacare fixed that.
• 11:04
  Speaker 3: It didn't. It didn't fix it. It's a disaster.
• 11:07
Speaker 4: It's going to be another thing that could easily bankrupt
• 11:10
  Speaker 4: this country.
• 11:11
Speaker 3: You want to know why we're in so much debt right.
• 11:13
Speaker 4: Now when you have premiums in Obamacare going up again.
• 11:17
Speaker 4: I want to make sure I quote on Navarro correctly
• 11:20
Speaker 4: one hundred two hundred three hundred percent.
• 11:22
Speaker 3: Obamacare is an utter disaster.
• 11:24
Speaker 4: It is a total disaster, and everyone knows it. By
• 11:29
Speaker 4: the way, like this is not something that's hard to
• 11:32
Speaker 4: figure out. It is very easy to understand that this
• 11:37
Speaker 4: is going to bankrupt us. So there's going to have
• 11:40
Speaker 4: to be reform with Obamacare. There's no way around it. Okay,
• 11:45
Speaker 4: Like there's just no way around it. We have to
• 11:49
Speaker 4: have major reform here, and if we don't, then it
• 11:51
Speaker 4: will continue to be a political football and it will
• 11:54
Speaker 4: continue to be a political disaster. And Democrats knew this.
• 11:58
Speaker 4: I go back to what did it and Nancy Pelosi
• 12:00
Speaker 4: say her words, not mine. We won't know what's in
• 12:04
Speaker 4: the bill until we pass the bill, and that is
• 12:07
Speaker 4: Obamacare summed up perfectly. We won't know what's in the
• 12:10
Speaker 4: bill until we pass the bill, and so when we
• 12:13
Speaker 4: pass the bill, we'll figure it out later. It's just
• 12:16
Speaker 4: a big old government subsidy. That's all it is. It's
• 12:19
Speaker 4: just a government subsidy. One other thing I want to
• 12:23
Speaker 4: say about this government shutdown. I think it also tells
• 12:25
Speaker 4: you just how bloated our government is. The majority of
• 12:29
Speaker 4: americans lives have really not been affected at all by
• 12:33
Speaker 4: the government shutdown. I think that's actually pretty incredible that
• 12:38
Speaker 4: we think our government is just so important and in
• 12:41
Speaker 4: reality it's really not. It's just not Our government has
• 12:46
Speaker 4: gotten way too big, and our government should be a
• 12:49
  Speaker 4: lot smaller.
• 12:50
Speaker 3: Than it actually is.
• 12:52
Speaker 4: Right now, all right, don't forget share this show, Share
• 12:54
