- 0:00Is a book, a well known book that's classic.
- 0:05It's called Tomah Dibuya. And the idea behind the SIPID is
- 0:10there's a pursuit that describes God's attributes told us to our
- 0:15people, which means God's care, sensitivity and uniquely God's
- 0:19ability to overcome people wronging him, basically doing
- 0:24things wrong to him. And that pursuit gives us word
- 0:27by word a description of us, some strengths in that area.
- 0:31And it's brought down that there's a major concept.
- 0:34As we know, the pasuk says you have to be like Hashem.
- 0:38So when they say be like Hashem means be like Hashem in these
- 0:40areas. And these are of course, very
- 0:44complete areas that only Hashem probably can attain to the full
- 0:48degree. But there's something to adopt
- 0:49from there. Explain what's the pasuk?
- 0:53Pasuk is as follows. Pasuk.
- 0:55And we have me MI El camojo. There's no God like, you know,
- 0:59say, Avon, who's able to read the exact English.
- 1:03He bears sin while Vera Peshar removes, including the Sheridan
- 1:08Nahala Tor Nahala Tor to the remnants of his inheritance.
- 1:12Lazig la that boy, he doesn't hold an anger, wants mercy.
- 1:19Yahshuvi La Jimeno goes on and on all different details.
- 1:24Yekbosh Abu Nathaniel God swashes our sins that Sukhumah
- 1:27Soyam throws them into the river.
- 1:29Kokhat Otam he did. Emily Arkov.
- 1:32God is true with us, merciful with us.
- 1:35I changed about the love Lieutenant.
- 1:37We make it them because you swore to do so since the
- 1:40beginning. OK, all attributes all big time
- 1:43broad attributes in them one by one.
- 1:47They detail have mercy. There's a couple that I think
- 1:50that are everyone is is unbelievable.
- 1:52This book is actually a beautiful book and it really
- 1:54shows you real legitimate character, but it's two that I
- 2:00want to focus on right now. 1 is that it says when Hashem is so
- 2:05merciful and caring and specifically so forgiving, he's
- 2:11forgiving Le Sherid Nakhalato to the remnants of his inheritance.
- 2:16What does Sherid Nakhalato mean? What does that mean remnants of
- 2:18inheritance? It means that God sees us as
- 2:23family. He sees us as his inheritance,
- 2:27his offsprings, his family. And part of his mercy comes from
- 2:33the fact that he sees us as his family.
- 2:37Let's break this down. Let's break it, bring out a
- 2:38point over here and that is that a lot of time they're dealing
- 2:42with other people and our minds are told others, especially if
- 2:45they roam us as we, if they're not really so good to us, our
- 2:50mindset toward them. The immediate mindset is to
- 2:53separate mentally to see them as outsiders, as distant.
- 2:57And that makes it easier for a fight.
- 2:59When you feel that a person is part of you, that it's much
- 3:04harder to get into a fight. You feel the person is your
- 3:08other half and it's much more difficult to get into a fight
- 3:11because the more you fight, the more you're hurting yourself in
- 3:14the sense. So the idea of God forgiving us,
- 3:18it's almost a trick to the system and that is that because
- 3:22I show him seasons as his inheritance doesn't do him any
- 3:25good to get angry at us and to keep the distance long term.
- 3:32I give you a clear example. Marriage is simple.
- 3:35I wasn't with the wife once again upset at his wife.
- 3:38Very nice. His wife is something wrong?
- 3:41She insulted him. The dinner wasn't what he
- 3:43wanted. Whatever the examples are, they
- 3:45only give you the classic example of burnt dinner.
- 3:48I don't know. My husband, thank God for a few
- 3:51years to me, the item has never been burnt.
- 3:54Dinner. I don't know.
- 3:55I don't care about food that much.
- 3:57I don't think any of us care about dinner being burnt.
- 4:00We don't care what the food tastes like.
- 4:02We care about other things. But that's not that it's going
- 4:04to take us off. But that's the example that was
- 4:06given. The classic examples.
- 4:07Anyhow, when your man gets nervous or upset at his wife,
- 4:12who is your after 10 minutes, he's only hurting himself
- 4:16because what happens? He has tension in the home.
- 4:19Now he has stress. Now he has to do double the work
- 4:23to fix it up. Now he's under pressure.
- 4:26Now everything is going wrong and everything unravels.
- 4:29We all know that. So you're getting upset because
- 4:32you feel like getting upset and maybe you feel like it has the
- 4:34right to get upset, but ultimately you're getting upset
- 4:38at yourself. And the same is true if parents
- 4:40get disappointed with their children.
- 4:43So you get disappointed with your child, you get so
- 4:45frustrated. OK, it happens.
- 4:47You get frustrated with your children, you're upset with
- 4:50them, and now you're walking around a bad mood to all your
- 4:52children. Ultimately tell me that your
- 4:55offspring is not going to succeed and isn't succeeding.
- 4:58And who lives at home? Ourselves.
- 5:01So when it says Hashem forgives and Hashem overcomes his anger
- 5:06toward us, it's le sherid nakhala Tor.
- 5:10It's because he sees us as his children and because he says
- 5:14it's a good investment, it's worth it, it's smart.
- 5:18It's a smart move to treat them as family.
- 5:21I mean, family I want as a selfish angle.
- 5:25This is a selfish angle. I want to get along with family
- 5:30because it's better for me. One of my opinions that I've
- 5:33seen over time is that when people don't get along with
- 5:37other people, the first move is that they're not really the
- 5:42lives are not the same lifestyle.
- 5:44Because if I live in I live in Brooklyn and someone I used to
- 5:48be very close to lives in deal and they do something wrong to
- 5:51me, it's much easier to no, you don't get into as many fights
- 5:57with them because an hour round, but it's much easier to slice
- 6:00the onion to peel off the onion a little bit because then I'm
- 6:03involved in my life. And when I don't have anything
- 6:05to do with them, it's not really going to make a difference.
- 6:07But if they're my actual family that I spend every day with,
- 6:10it's a lot harder to get into a real fight because it's going to
- 6:12really keep sticking its face back into me.
- 6:15I would come to keep seeing it over over again.
- 6:17And the mindset has to be is that they may live and deal
- 6:21with. They may not be part of your
- 6:23life, but they're always part of your life.
- 6:24You want to always get along. In order to do so.
- 6:27Recognize them as part of yourself.
- 6:29This is the mindset they shared Nakhala to see them.
- 6:33Hashem sees us as his offspring, and we should see each other as
- 6:38family. And the more we see each other
- 6:40as family, the easier more we're motivated to get along.
- 6:44Because it's very hard to have a family meal.
- 6:47And that guy's not talking, right?
- 6:49It's much easier. That guy's not part of the meal
- 6:51anymore. You're not talking to him, no
- 6:53problem. But if he's bought the meal, you
- 6:55want to talk to him, and the minds it should be, that's
- 6:57always buy the meal. And there are people out there
- 7:00who think, doesn't really matter if I get along with him anymore,
- 7:03they're not part of my life. You keep sliced onion, enough
- 7:08hands that matter. You keep cutting out this person
- 7:11and cutting out that person and the other person.
- 7:14Eventually you start to feel it. You may not feel it right away,
- 7:16but eventually you start to feel it because your circle gets
- 7:19smaller and smaller. And the mindset should be the
- 7:21opposite of that. The mind should be, There is
- 7:23nobody whom I want to be outside my circle.
- 7:27Of course, we have all this, all exceptions to these rules, but
- 7:30the overall mind, it should be, I'm going to forgive and forget
- 7:34as much as it can because I want my circle to be full, to be
- 7:39complete and to be whole. And we should try for that as
- 7:43much as we can. I remember, I'll give you an
- 7:46example. It's a classic exam.
- 7:47I remember there was a man in the old days, probably 30
- 7:51something years ago. And I always kept track of this,
- 7:55my father's life, my study was that by the time he passed away,
- 8:00any person who had anything that went wrong at all, and these
- 8:04people were, I have to tell you first hand, watching any person
- 8:09by the end that I fought his life.
- 8:12They came around. I probably told you this once
- 8:14before. One of the people was a man who
- 8:16got involved in something in the shul over there.
- 8:18I don't know what it was exactly.
- 8:19This guy was a real problem. I remember he called my father
- 8:21down to the hospital bed. He was on hospital bed today.
- 8:25I said I followed forgiveness. I remember that was one example.
- 8:28I was always stuck with me because I knew my father was a
- 8:30nice person. So I felt bad if you had any
- 8:32fights with anybody and he didn't have any fights with this
- 8:35one person who had this complaint.
- 8:38This person was out of his mind, honestly.
- 8:40But yet he called, I followed it down.
- 8:42I remember he used to walk out and he called fall down to his
- 8:45hospital bed. That's forgiveness.
- 8:47There was one example, another person similar, and I always
- 8:50appreciate the fact that I followed it passed away.
- 8:54We don't know Emeritus. He passed it with a circle.
- 8:58It was pretty much complete, which means there wasn't a
- 9:00person out there who was able to say, I am still, you know, now
- 9:05we can't always do this. And again, in the business
- 9:07world, extremely difficult. And, you know, you're dealing
- 9:10with people over the years, you've had partners and you've
- 9:13had people who never paid you and you have these different
- 9:15examples. It's not so simple to just try
- 9:18to have complete closure in every area.
- 9:21But it is important to try to say in my daily life, the
- 9:27regular people, especially my family, they really are my
- 9:30family. I don't care if I have a lot of
- 9:31siblings. I don't care if I have a lot of
- 9:33children on my own. And if I don't need my siblings
- 9:35anymore, I don't need my cousins.
- 9:37You want to keep it as whole as possible if you can, because it
- 9:42is constantly shadid. Nakhalato Hashem kept his family
- 9:45as one, as one example. The other example is is what was
- 9:51the other example I want to tell you Pasuki brings another word.
- 9:58He brings in the Pasuki Lozique lad.
- 10:00APOR doesn't hold on to the anger.
- 10:04People can get upset temporarily, That's all natural.
- 10:08Reactionary is very normal to get you a character to be at a
- 10:12degree. You don't even react.
- 10:14Is is the Malak. We all react, but once we react,
- 10:19the next step, which is holding on and trying to keep ourselves
- 10:24angry for no reason, There's no purpose in that.
- 10:27And that is just keeping a fight going and who needs that?
- 10:32What do I gain from them? So there's 1°, which is saying
- 10:36to yourself, my family, my circle of my family is very
- 10:39large and keeping it that way. And the other degree is making
- 10:45sure once the anger subsides, allow it to go.
- 10:51Allow that anger to subside. Don't try to find reasons to
- 10:54remain in the fight. Don't try to convince yourself
- 10:57that because I was right, I need to remain right.
- 11:00That was then, that is over now, and that no longer matters.
- 11:04There's no longer a reason to remain angry.
- 11:07These are two points from this Basu.
- 11:09If we adopt according to this, safer according to this concept,
- 11:14if we adopt these two concepts, God will adopt the exact same
- 11:18for us. So if I have a huge family,
- 11:20Hashem will consider me part of His huge family and treat me
- 11:23like a child. And if I am willing to, overtime
- 11:27takes time, but all the time soften anger and chill out a
- 11:32little bit. Once the original anger subsides
- 11:35and there's out the shame, whatever we messed up on will
- 11:39also go away because that original angles of silence
- 11:41stopping these two things.
