- 0:04SPEAKER_02: Welcome.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: You've got mail.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Hello, hello, and welcome to this week's episode of a really good podcast with Greg and Liz.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: And this week's episode is already tough because we already recorded like five minutes.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: It was only five minutes.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: I know some of the best material I think we've ever sort of.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: That is not true.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: I forgot to hit record.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: It's 6 45 in the morning.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, let me say that.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: This was Greg's choice because he it needed to be before or after he goes to the gym.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: I felt like as this was happening earlier, maybe 10 minutes ago, I was like, we've got we've got something here.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: We've got lightning in the bottle.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And this is how we finally break through.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: I know, but let me say this is the first time in three and a half years that I've ever forgot to hit record.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: So and it and it is 6:45 in the morning.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: I as I said, I am a morning person, but an alarm in the morning person is not my favorite.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So no, hey, look, we we adapt and overcome.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so what we were talking about first and foremost, today we're talking about 90s relics.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Greg was the leader of this episode.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: So just in case you don't know the backstory, Greg and I each pick a topic and then you have to lead.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: I do that 90% of the time.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Greg does it about 10% of the time.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: And then you're supposed to be the person like organizing the whole thing.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Greg came to me as we were starting this and said, Yeah, I got a few.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: So yeah, yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, I didn't want to blow you away, and I want to keep it light.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Do you want me to kind of talk about my whole idea for this thing?
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: So the idea was to kind of think of it as what we would put in a time capsule.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Because growing up, that was always like I think there was like a movie or something, but I was always fascinated with the idea of finding something old, you know?
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Like almost like a treasure, but like it's really you can yeah, exactly.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Like you you make your own treasure, you put it down in the ground.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: And we did this on my street.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: We put it down in the ground and we we only lasted about eight months.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Were you like dying every day?
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, can we please pull up the time capsule today?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and no, it was kind of like I don't want to say cute, bunch of bunch of cuties out there and on sales app.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: You were a bunch of cutie, little bunch of little blonde cutie pituities running around.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: We were, we were, and we put stuff in it that would have appeared old had we opened it the next day, or that like you know what I mean?
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Like a pocket knife, a yo-yo.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: This is probably like what you because you saw people open time capsules and it was always older stuff.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So in your head, I think it was always a pocket knife and a yo-yo.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much it.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And they'd be like, cool.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, a news article or a picture at least.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, great idea.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it'd be fun to do it for your kids and then leave like a really menacing or like mysterious note and send them on to like a mystery that doesn't exist.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I hope you find your real dad.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like find him, just like anyone.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Don't say who it is.
- 2:53unknown: Yeah.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: You know what's cool about that and like a very 90s vibe is it's making me think of every movie back in the 90s where they were like they had to figure out a mystery.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: They would go to the the library and go through the the microfiche.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Microfiche, yeah.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: That's something that that's gone.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, how these people are sitting there just scrolling through newspaper after news.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: How are you how are you even reading it?
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: You're going so fast, you know?
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: They always found it though.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: They always you know what I just gave my dad for his birthday this year, because he's a very hard man to shop for, you know how it is.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I got him one of these books, and now that I've talked about it on this, whoever's listening, it will show up as an ad for you, I'm sure.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Where it's a huge book and it's the front page.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Each page is like a coffee table book.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Each page is the front page of the newspaper on his birthday every year.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, so it's pretty cool.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna blow up his age, but we'll say 70sh years.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's actually really cool.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: And it's just the one front page, so you can't even read the whole article, but it was really it was a banger of a gift.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: I'll say that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I I remember when I was a kid in the 90s, this is the 90s book too.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: My friend, who had came from a good good amount of money, had on his table.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: I don't know why I say that, but this seemed like an expensive book.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: But it was like a book about fairies, and like each fairy would have like a description of like what they do, what they look like.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: It was like it was like really kind of cool.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: And that would always kind of like the Tinkerbell series, that is something you may get into.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: They each have a purpose, like their color is their purpose, kind of thing.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: All right, so I luckily don't trust you at all and did did the work.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: I did mine into categories.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: So you can if you want, you can say one.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Well, like go back and forth.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: But when I do mine, it's gonna be like a bunch of them in a certain category.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: So I think if we jump ahead and just go fitness first.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Well, for me, like the Taibo.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: The Tybow.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Um and the Billy was it Billy something?
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Billy Blanks, yep.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Billy Blanks, yeah.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: K.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I guess I guess it's more of an 80s thing, but Richard, Richard Simmons.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I know it's probably still a great workout.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: The Jane Fonda workout with the blue leotard.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Is that 80s?
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I did in the 80s.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I had the VHS tape in the 80s.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: There was this guy called John Bazdow, and he he had his head looked like a corporate sort of executive, but he had like the most ripped abs in the world that didn't look real.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: And I just remember that.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: See that?
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: Uh 80s was all about getting some abs.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Eight-minute abs.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: That was an 80s thing.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Thymaster.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: That might have been the early.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: The thymasters.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: He was.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: No, my dad had a Nordic track.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I I was gonna say I know, but I don't know.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: This is all new to me.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Whoosh wosh.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Stop referencing that we've already talked about it and just do it.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Can you imagine that though?
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: You have like this huge ass fucking machine right in the middle of your bedroom, and every morning it was that's what I'd wake up.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Well, that was like the the higher end machine.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: But there was also a machine where it was kind of like you would grab the handles and like the seat would lift up and you would pull your whole thing.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: I still kind of do that at the gym.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's that's at the gym.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: And I go to edge fitness.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: I'm not like a you know, yeah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Well, there's one, there's one that you like pull the arms and your seat like lifts up with it.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: So it's like a machine.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: It's not exactly, I think that was like a be-all where you had like 12 different things you could do on it, right?
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: I don't even know those still existed.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Maybe you need to explore them because you go to edge fitness, don't you?
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I do, yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe you need to get out there and explore it.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna look for it today.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Honestly, though, like I think a lot of people probably still do these.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: I mean, if it's a you know, you know, I think having a huge piece of fitness equipment in your house outside of like a gym.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like the people will definitely have like a pull-up bar and like a squat rack, that's more of the thing now than having like a huge piece of like a well, I guess I had a treadmill.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I mean fitness in general is it's so uh like trendy, you know.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: It's funny because I was like, did we talk about the cycle bar in this one?
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: Like I can't.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what is this cycle?
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Well, you have things.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: What is this?
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: No, it's cycling, like uh bikes, yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: What is that?
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: What is that called?
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Uh bike class.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: No, there's a name for it.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Spin class, spin class, yes.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: But like now, right now, Barry's boot camp is a big one.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: You hear about that a lot.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Barry's boot camp?
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Barry's boot camp.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: It's in it's in like rich people places.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: You know what I've been doing?
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: What's that?
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: It's a trend, it's a new thing, you know.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: John and I are doing it.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I saw that you guys are like gym buddies.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Well, for now.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: When did he when does he leave?
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: The 14th.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: That's like three weeks away.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: I was looking at those pictures and I was like, oh my God, that's really sad.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: Anyways, moving on, we'll get your mind off of it.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I go to the gym, I just do like 45 minutes on the treadmill.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: I watch TV show and then I do a bunch of weights.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Or I'll do a half an hour on the treadmill, you know, do some high, high incline walking.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: What?
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Like 11%.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: That's not bad.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: No, I have to hold on though.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: I can't do it.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, yeah, you're holding on for daily life.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: You're one of those things.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: I feel like I'm probably missing out on some calories there by holding on, but I'm like not prepared to just try to like launch myself off the treadmill, you know?
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're not being able to stumble off the back.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: It's not a good look.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, so my next one, are we ready?
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Scents.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Scents of the 90s.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: So I started out with body sprays and whatnot.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Are you ready?
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Now I'm willing to bet that one of at least one of your girlfriends has worn one of these scents and see if they sound familiar to you.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Scents are kind of weird too, because it's the only it's one of the only things unless they still make it, which a lot of these they actually do still make it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: You can't like revisit it.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: It's not like a TV show.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: You know, yeah.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: There are certain of these, like the strawberry shortcake dolls.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Do you remember that's a scent?
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, they were scented.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: So the the stomach, I want to say, or her whatever, I think maybe just the doll.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: It like smelled that had the certain smell, but like they don't make them anymore.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: So like that's it.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: We're never gonna never smellcome ever again.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, so the body sense.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Do you remember the gap sense?
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Grass, heaven, dream.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Most of the people say it like I think they're coming back with them.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Fucking grass.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Well, not great for people with allergies.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: No, and like, and who wants to smell like grass?
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Like grass is freshly freshly mowed grass is great.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't even know if I like that smell.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: I do like that smell, but maybe just because it means that you can have a mow on.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: That's more like a yard smell.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, no, that's what I'm saying.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Like the smell in general.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, okay, yeah.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: So I remember it was every in the 90s was like every fancy pair of jeans that the like you know what I mean?
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Like every clothing had, it wasn't like a person had a scent.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: I guess that was part of it too, but like not a guy, you know, Tommy Hill figure.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all they all had a boss, they all had their yeah, they all had their own set too, which I thought was pretty cool.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And then what's the major Did you wear a lot of those?
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: You strike me as a Tommy Hill figure spray or not a gun.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I love cologne, I still do, and you know what's so funny?
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: There, I went back to Dracar because I used to like love Dracar and Dracar Noir, and then I was like, you know what?
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: I re was reading this article when I was like getting a new a new cologne, and I usually just get like a try like a something way different, and they were like Drake, not that I'm a huge Drake fan, but he's like, Drake's wearing Dracar again.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Well, if Drake can do it, if Drake can do it, has questionable relationships with 17-year-olds, but sure.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's true.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Maybe he's going for that young scent.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Maybe he thinks maybe he thinks because when he was in high school, he wore it.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: But he broke to a fix it.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Now, the Victoria's secret scents.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Okay, we have paraglass, vanilla lace, and love spell.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: I still love love spell to this day.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Someone walk by this to this day and I'll say, Is that paraglosset?
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Paraglass was my original.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: That was my original.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I believe I moved into vanilla in like high school.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: So I want to say love spell didn't really hit until early 2000s.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: That was when I really like a vanilla base is never going away.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: Like a vanilla base.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: But like that's also like you're telling the line of grandmother-y, yeah.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: My perfume that I wore in the 90s was Britney Spears Curious.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: That was Britney Spears was the original Jessica Simpson.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Well, I remember what I was wearing in the 90s.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: This is good for sentence too, was Curve.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: M Curve.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Is that a men's scent?
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: I hope so, or else I'll screw things up for you.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: I'm sure it had a great commercial.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, curve was great.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Like all those, like at CVS around Christmas time, you get someone a three-pack of Calvin Klein Eternity Obsession.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: If you're buying it at CVS, it's top dollar.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: No, they'd have to open up the cage or whatever the hell.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: They do that now for everything.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, we tried to buy fake nails the other day for Dylan and they had to like unlock it.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: It was like, okay, like I get it.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: Maybe get like a more intense like security system going out the door.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: I don't think we need to be.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: I didn't buy eyeliner the other day because I was like, I'm not waiting.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: I'm done here.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Not waiting for that.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Or get more employees.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Bath and Body Works cucumber melon.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Yes, for sure.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: That's a scent I know I've seen around the house.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Cucumber melon.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: She was probably right in it because she was like smack dab in the middle of the 90s as a teenager.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Cucumber Melon.
- 12:36unknown: Damn.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: And then the last ones I wanted to talk about were the Mr.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Scent markers.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: So the markers.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: I knew that was gonna come up.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Because I was thinking markers, but then I was like, is that a little more 80s?
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Like scratch and sniff was definitely first of all, they still have it because I just saw them the other day and I almost got them for Dylan for her markers, but they were ten dollars.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: And I said, I am about to drop$250 on fucking paper products.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: So like but$250 for back to school stuff?
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, if you include both of my kids for I spent$100 on Dylan just on, you know, folders, headphones, like whatever.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: I haven't even done that yet.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Oh wait, I did buy Remy an outfit too, so take that off.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: But we went to we went to rent them.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: That's very Rhode Island of us to get the kids.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: I tried to do that and I couldn't get into it, the back to school shopping.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: I took Crosby to we did a Coles Burlington run this year.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Because that's nice because you can get some name brand stuff, but it's always usually a nice we hit up that clearance hard.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Well he's going to middle school, so he's gonna, I said, we gotta get you a step of his style.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: Working on that with Ben.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, kind of style going.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: And then we got a nice, healthy load of basketball shorts and t-shirts.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And that's all and you know what, but I think that's what they wear.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: That's what they like.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like going out to dinner yesterday.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: I'm like, we're going, you're gonna wear those sweatpants, huh?
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I was like, Do you want pants?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: He goes, No, I have plenty of pants.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: I'm like, You don't have any pants, but he doesn't wear pants.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: It's shorts, and then he has one pair of like black sweatpants that can look like they're real pants.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: And like good pants.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: I stopped buying him jeans like three years ago.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: I'm like, come on, you gotta he has a girlfriend now.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you gotta step it up.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Well, hey, look, let them they'll find their way.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: And like, what the fuck do I know?
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: They like to wear high socks.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: I can't live in that world.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: I do like it's all it is a very what the fuck do I know?
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Because I was like, look, I'm gonna get you some checkered vans, I'm gonna get you Miss Cardigans.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a cardigan, one of these funny hats, and you're gonna be good.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: No, speaking of, I thought we could talk about fashion.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Hypercolor.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Where are the hypercolor shirts?
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: We gotta get that back.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: No fear shirts, no fear champion.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: That's big now.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Champion's back, and that's where I'm like, I get lost when I was like shopping for him because I'm like, is this cool or is this just I don't know that champion was really like that cool.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: I think oh, it was cool.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Was it yes?
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: I picture like rich kids.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Maybe I'm thinking of a spree, actually.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, no, champion was like right in that sweet spot.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Like you could get it, it was expensive.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: But it wasn't like bobs, it wasn't like terribly expensive.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: It was perfect, and now it now it's like I think it's like cheaper now, but that's it's still great.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was at Walmart, and I was like, Do you want this?
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, I don't know if this is gonna work.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like am I doing you any favors?
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Like that's that's just a problem.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: What about like Jenko jeans?
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Jenko jeans, yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: You know who is a big fan of the Jenko jeans?
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Tom Gardner, our yachtly crew, extraordinaire.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Every memory I have of Django jeans is him walking around basically in a dress, basically in a dress.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: Everybody does.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: With like wet bottoms.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: That was also like because we did extreme flares.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: I remember the transition from I believe it was just like straight leg into flares, and I was horrified.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: I didn't get on the flare train for years.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: I'm always like three to four years behind every trend.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Like I'm just now trying to work my way out of skinny jeans, you know?
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: So like I embrace it.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: A baggy pant, embrace it.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: I went and tried them on an old navy.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: I just look, they look so stupid on me.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: And like I do a flare, I'll do a bootcut.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: I like a bootcut.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: That's the best you're gonna get out of me.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I'm not doing I work with all 25-year-olds and I'm like, I can't do this again.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've been here, I've been where you are, and I know how stupid it looks later.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: They're so wide, these wide leg pants are so wide, it just looks dumb.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Puka shell necklaces went hand in hand.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: I loved it.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Look, we if you want to talk about fashion, you have to talk about for for men anyway.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: It was like Abercrame structure, American Eagle, structure structure was huge.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Structure was Man Express, right?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it was like well before, well before it was Man Express.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, structure was it.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: I love structure.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: That was my place.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: But like I was very much like, I don't know, I'm gonna skip the the the Jenkos and dress like middle management.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Well, you also weren't a skater, right?
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: No, like most of my guy friends who wore Jenko jeans were taking a video camera outside, finding a railing somewhere, it's like falling down and like falling down or skating, like rollerblading.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: Oh rollerblading.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: First of all, that's not just a 90s thing because I will rollerblade again to this day.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: It's one of my favorite.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: I love rollerblading, it's the best exercise out there, it really is because it it's more exercise than a bike, right?
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Because you're the only person moving your body, it's so much more freeing than a roller skate.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: When I go to United States of America, I'm blading a hundred percent.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: You can you rent blades?
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, you rent your own.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: I own my own blades before.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: Did I I've have I ever talked about this?
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: How Jenna and I we both had Wednesdays off in college and we went blade to the bowling alley.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: No.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: So Jenna, my love, my college best friend, we lived together and we lived probably like three miles from a bowling alley.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: And so one day we were like, Where can I go get blades?
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: And we're just gonna blade to the bowling alley.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: This was like the year after I graduated college, so like I was just waitressing.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: So we would at like 11 a.m., we'd rollerblade to the bowling alley, we'd drink a pitcher of beer.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And this was when bowling was affordable.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Speaking of a relic of the 90s, have you been bowling lately?
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's like 300 bucks.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: It's astronomical.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: These poor kids, these teenagers are not gonna have anything to do.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: So this was when you could rent a lane, it was like five dollars a game, literally, you know, for like whatever.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: That really re-ignited, but in high school, we would blade in my neighborhood.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: You remember Gasby, it's a great blading neighborhood.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but here's the thing you've got to have a nice pair of blades, otherwise, it's just a nightmare.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're only like$50, or they were then.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, now they're like$250.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: I should get a good blade.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: I should get some blades.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm gonna do that.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: You don't want any blades.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: No, you're not a blader?
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: No, what were you like?
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: A walker?
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: I did a lot of walking.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: I yeah, I was more of a walker.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: We weren't getting there quickly, that's for sure.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: We were no, we are you kidding me?
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: We were huge BMX people.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Our jumps, our our rails would be all BMX.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we were a huge BMX.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: A little rough around the edges.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: BMX were rough around the edges.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Would you go to the room?
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: We didn't have those roller beds.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: No, you sure didn't.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Would you go to like have you ever seen those like wooded areas that have the like little mini bike ramp?
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Sometimes sometimes we would build our own dirt ramps.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Well, sometimes you'd make them, right?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: I think City Park has City Park had a decent, like Buttonwood's area had like a like a decent one.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: There was one behind Gordon, believe it or not.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: I think in those woods.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: So there there was some there was some definitely you had to go find them though, or build them.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: And we build a lot of ramps out of like boards on the streets too.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Was this before or after you were building your boat?
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, the building of the boat.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Right around the same time.
- 20:05unknown: Yeah.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: You were like just scouring the neighborhood for like any kind of materials.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: You know, we sailed that boat across the gap across all the way to from Morwick neck to Oakland Beach.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: For anyone that isn't from Rhode Island, that's a good butt.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Mile on the water.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: It's a good mile on the water for a boat that a bunch of kids made.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Were you terrified the whole time?
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: It's dangerous over there.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: People tie over there all the time.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Those are those are those are bad.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Those are rough seas.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I know, which is weird because it's like, why is that?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: It's unassuming.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Because it comes, I think because it's so shallow that you can walk out so far, and then I'm sure like the tide just comes in real fast, probably.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: It comes in real fast and sucks you right now, I guess.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: I guess that's the thing.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Because realistic, if you were to see it, it's like glass, like that shit doesn't even move.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: And you're like, this is the thing, this is the horrific perfect storm that's been I know.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Next up, food, 90s food.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, don't worry, I have a whole list.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Are you ready?
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: Orbits.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Do you remember orbits?
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: It was the it was the drink and it had the bubbles in it.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, gross.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, almost like boba, but not.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: If I was gonna think of a 90s drink, I'd say, like, we got your surges, your jolts, your sobies.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Remember so caffeine, right?
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: The so yeah, yeah.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Surge and jolt had like more caffeine, like almost illegal amounts of caffeine.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: It was like remember okay soda?
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: You could call the I the second thing I said, 1-800, I feel okay, but I think I got it confused with Snapple.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Didn't Snapple have a number too that you could call?
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean I think maybe get a joke or something.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't even remember what they said.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: I tried to look it up.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: Squeeze it.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Remember those?
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: It was like the juice box, and then you twisted the top off.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Coolie cool bursts.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: What were those?
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: I think that's the same thing.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, probably.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Bubble play ice cream.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: I think about that one all the time.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Every time I go to get ice cream, it was the pink glove from the moon.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: With the bubblegum in the middle, and they don't make it anymore.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: They do all SpongeBob and Spider-Man.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: And it's infuriating because this one looks so much better.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: I always went with a screwball.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: They I do think they might have screwballs, and everyone's like, just get a screwball because it's the same thing.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: It's not the same thing.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: It's not the same.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: You're not on a race with time trying to like eat it before it melts and gets all down your hand.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: You know, and then there's a lot of like junkaroos.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Dunkaroos.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Dunkaroos are back though.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: They've been back.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: Are they back?
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're back.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Do you remember the oatmeal that had gummies in it and it would change color as you stirred it?
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Fuck yeah.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: There was like a coating on it.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: That was fine.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: That was great.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: I do that again.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: I give that to my kids.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: I'm honestly like people like, oh, dyes and whatever.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: And like I do my best.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Dyes?
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Are you fucking kidding me?
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: The shit we would eat as a kid.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Like there would like candy cigarettes.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Candy cigarettes are on there.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: But that really wasn't like, I wouldn't imagine that was that bad for you.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Just like morally wrong.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: No, but like, all right, remember, remember the creepy crawlers?
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: It was like a a thing, like a game, not like a game, but like a toy you could have that you could make your own sort of fruit snacks almost?
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: What the fuck was that?
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was like a pot that was like a science project.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: We just eat the shit out of that.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: I but like you know what?
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: I still buy the multi-pack of fruit by the foot, fruit roll-up, and gushers, and I eat the shit out of it.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: I give it to my kids.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: Like, what is life if you can't enjoy a nice, simple death trap in the form of a fruit snack?
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like what for first of all, yeah, because it is kind of confusing.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Because like, what is a gusher?
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: That is hard to kind of put your finger on.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not a late night, like you're never gonna like wake up and catch me eating ice cream.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: You are gonna wake up and catch me eating sourbelt straws.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: I love a sour candy, I love a scoop of peanut butter, you know.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: But like, I do, you know what I do now?
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: And I feel like semi-healthy about it, even though it's like not healthy at all.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: I do a scoop of peanut butter, I do a couple of dark chocolate chips, and then some whipped cream.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: And that's my like the furthest thing from healthy.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: It's not healthy, but in terms of like, if you're gonna go down and like do a late night dessert snack, a sweet, you know, you should switch switch it out with like a Greek yogurt and mix the peanut butter.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: I wish you could see my face right now to the people watching.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: A Greek yogurt, get the fuck out of here.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: Late night?
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: I'm not waking up at 11:30 p.m.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: and going downstairs and eating a Greek yogurt.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: I might eat a regular yogurt full of sugar because that's like sweet.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: But a Greek yogurt, no.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: I do Greek yogurt in the morning and I put fruit in it.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Like I only buy the plain Greek yogurt.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're gonna get the yu vanilla with peanut butter and like a banana.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: It's just some granola.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: First of all, dark chocolate isn't that bad for you.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Whipped cream really isn't that bad for you because there's no it's no sugar added.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: It's no sugar added, it's like 10 calories per little dollop?
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Dollop.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're a big whipped cream family.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I'll just come downstairs and take a shot of whipped cream.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's fine.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love whipped cream, don't get me wrong.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: So, where so where are you judging my snack?
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I'm just not like, I'm gonna have let me get let me go get a healthy snack and then I'm on the couch.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: I didn't say it was a healthy snack.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: I'm saying in terms of like a dessert that you'd eat binge eat late at night, a scoop of peanut butter, a couple like three or four chocolate chips on the channel.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: And how are you just like eating peanut butter?
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Don't you get a little like brand in the dog from Punkie Brewster when you tries to eat peanut butter?
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: Like you can't like it.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: I'm not like scooping it out with my I'm not eating it with my mouth out of the peanut butter jar.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: I just get a spoonful.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:37unknown: All right.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, it's a great, it's a great late night sack, and you don't really feel that bad about yourself.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: A lot of protein, crystal clear Pepsi.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: Crystal Pepsi.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: That was so good.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: And they just it didn't last for very long.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: It was ca it was fun because they probably it was fun because it's like hey, this tastes like the dark soda, but it's not.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: I know, but it it crazy it was it was like almost like a combo between like Sprite and Pepsi.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: Who even drinks Pepsi anyway?
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: Like, come on.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: I I'll have I this you know I'm one of those people that doesn't matter to me.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Coke is far superior, always, always, always.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: And then the last thing I was thinking was a very 90s was having an untoasted piece of white bread with butter on it as a side dish for your dinner.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I actually it's so funny.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: I go to this place called the Athenian Deli, which is this is a recommendation.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: It's like they're stuck in the 90s, even the prices are kind of in the 90s, and like they'll do that.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Do you want a piece of bread with butter?
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And you're like, I'm always like, no, even though, like, because it's just a piece of white bread with like a hard piece of butter on it, like a pain in the ass piece of butter.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: If you can get a nice spread, if you get a nice spread, yeah, but like I can't imagine, imagine like just making well, you probably don't make your kids dinner, do you?
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: It's very rarely, rarely, like making my kids dinner and being like, here's a piece of like white bread with just butter on it.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's so it was so good.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: It was so good with a with an Italian meal mostly.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, you get that, and you still can get that at regatoni's.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, room decor, decidedly 90s room decor.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: A transparent phone.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: I had one.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Did you have one?
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: No, you didn't have one.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: I did not.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: One phone family, I think.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Cutting out magazine ads for the wall.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: I I've actually seen that in people's rooms for sure.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking like you've seen that?
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Of course you've seen it, Craig.
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: It was probably in every girl that you've ever been in this room.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: I have an entire wall.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: But like there's no magazines anymore.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: That's true, too.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: That's kind of a bar.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: So magazines.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: Magazines are they were so huge for me.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: They were huge.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: I love magazines.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: I get a magazine subscription for Christmas for my aunt every year.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: From your aunt?
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, great gift.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: And that is a great gift because I'm not gonna spend money on it.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: It's probably like ten dollars too.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm sure it's and it's like it keeps it's the gift that keeps on giving.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: I we had People magazine growing up that came every week, and that was the highlight of my week.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: That's where my love of celebrity gossip came from.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Dude, do you want to know what was a great come in the mail thing?
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: TV Guy.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like, hell yeah.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: Or 10 CDs for a penny.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Columbia House or Columbia House.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, what was the other one?
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: I got introduced to so many.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Like, I remember I got one haul and it was like Shania Twain, Tupac, the Fuji's, like all and like you would get so many CDs, and it was only a penny.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: And I don't know how they ever made any money on that because I never spent actual money on it.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: I used to do that too.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Someone had to pay for that at some point.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Like, I definitely did the Columbia House haul something stupid.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: There's the reason why it's not around anymore.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, I guess that didn't work out.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: I think they get you like credit or something.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: Not my credit.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: I was yeah, I was eight years old ordering fucking all these CDs, ordering Jagged Little Pill.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: Jagged Little Pill.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, what an amazing album.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: We should do we should do an episode on that.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: Inflatable furniture and lava lamps.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: We went very 70s for a while in the 90s.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: 90s went seventies.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: I think it's from that that Groove is in the heart start kind of there.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And then Austin Powers.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: Austin Powers, that 70s show.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: Do you think that I can show my kids Austin Powers?
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: Is it uh is that it's time.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: It's time for sponge painting the walls.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: Sponge painting.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it definitely didn't do that.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you did you remember that, right?
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: I still I feel like popcorn ceilings still exist sometimes.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Just look at your ceiling.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I did.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: It's not a popcorn ceiling, it's a fake tile, it's like foam.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: But and then magic eye, I was thinking about.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: Like the you gotta stick your dude I could never do that.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: I to this day, I cannot put my nose on that thing and then like step back and see a big a unicorn.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: I can't do that.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: I can.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: You have to like focus though.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: You know, you gotta really like make it work.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: I took a magic eye library book out, and my kids were like into it for like 10 seconds, and then it it didn't click for them, and they don't have the patience for it.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: No, not like Where's Waldo and that stuff.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: That might be a they love my kids love Where's Waldo, they do that all the time.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: I loved Where's Waldo, I thought that was awesome.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: I can't tell you how many.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, you can find his hat, his stick, his shoe, yeah, the wizard, the wizard, yeah, his girlfriend, the guy with the yellow and black.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Yep, I know.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: All right, the last one that I have is computers.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, this might be not be universal, but I think it will be.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: You did you have to talk about like America Online kind of thing?
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, and like the computer games.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, so most people, if you had a computer, you had one for the whole house.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Doom is on my list.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: I love Doom, that's still one of my favorite games.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Remember, they made the movie, I never even saw it.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: Bet you was good.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Doom was crazy.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Doom was crazy because like I'm literally in my house at like 9 30 p.m.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: downstairs all by myself, and I'm just remember that.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: And you'd it'd be like a monster behind you.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: Like, my kids could never freak the fuck out.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: They would freak the fuck out.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: They would be sleeping in my bed for the rest of our lives.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Like, there's no fucking we didn't dude.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: I would we were like fearless.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: I remember Blair Witch came out, and everyone was like, I know we were like teens, and everyone was like positive that that was real.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Now, like witches existed, and then our neighborhood were like, let's sleep outside.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: Let's see what's up with this.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: Like, we didn't give a fuck in the night.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: I I didn't see it in the movie theater, but I remember I rented it and I watched it when I was home alone by myself on like a super stormy, cloudy day.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: So it was like super dark in the TV room, and I was just laying on the couch all by myself, just watching this movie.
- 31:48unknown: What?
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: I know that is crazy.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: My my kids will accidentally watch a fucking preview of a scary movie and be like, okay, there's no that was an option.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: Krasby went to a sleepover a couple weeks ago, and the mom told me after that they were talking about like what movies to watch, and they all were saying they wanted to watch a horror movie.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: There was like six of them, and Krasby was like, No, I'm not doing that.
- 32:09SPEAKER_01: And I was like, you know what?
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: Like, good for you, because I feel like most of us would have just been like, okay, and like done it and like been terrified.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: And he was like, No, I'm I don't want to, I don't want to do that.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: I I can't do that.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Mick will be the same way.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: He'll be like, I am like if it's like even Goosebumps with fucking Ross, they'll remake.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: That's actually a little scary.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: I love Goosebumps.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: That one, there's another one with the guy, he's in he's great, he's in everything.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: He's he's in like drag me to hell, but he's also in like God, what's that guy's name?
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: He's in what's that movie with the girls who like oh he's just not into you?
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, Justin Long.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: That's the that's the first season of Goosebumps.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: He's awesome.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: I love I watched the first season.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: I haven't watched the second season, but we are supposed to do goosebumps for an episode because I did in fact buy a four-pack of goosebumps books in a tin in a tin box for Grassman.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: My cousin watched this I mean, read every goosebumps book.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: I loved it.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: I watched the show All right, we're gonna do that.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do that for Halloween this year.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Fucking hell.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Um I love it.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: But also for the computers, the Oregon Trail.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: That was no there was no high like getting out of class and getting to go in the hallway computer and getting to play the Oregon Trail.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like you've got fucking dysentery.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right?
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: Yep, yep.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: But if you're going there, like what about if I'm thinking of electronics and you know, we're talking like Tamagotchi Y and all that, like digital pets crap, but be beyond all that, Mario 3?
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, Mario 3 was incredible.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Incredible.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Incredible.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: One of the best, I think, I think probably the best video game of all time.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: And the only thing that starts to compare with that is when the Nintendo 6 well, and then you got Super Nintendo with like your Mortal Kombat.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: You gotta talk about Sonic and Were you a Nintendo family or a Sega family?
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: We were in Nintendo, then we went okay.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: We're Nintendo to Super Nintendo, never dabbled in any kind of Sonic or anything.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: My cousins had it, but we were not we didn't.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: I was a while, we struck it.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: Sonic was in my periphery.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: I had a couple friends who I'd be collecting those rings.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Wait, what were you just saying?
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, in Nintendo, the original Nintendo, did you ever have a power pad?
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: No.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: Speaking of a good workout, really?
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: We had a we had the power pad, we had the gun, the power pad, whatever.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: We had the gun too.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: We would, I mean, we were doing Family Olympics where you know you'd run, you'd be like the bear, you'd run, you'd jump off, jump back on for the hurdles.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: I can't believe that freaking worked.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, it was incredible.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: And then when I was in my 20s, a couple of my friends ended up buying one on Etsy.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: And so they got like a Nintendo, a power pad, whatever, and we would do it when we would get back from the bar all the time.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: It was so much fun.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: Well, I remember even at the bar at Eddy's, they would they had a Wii and we would do like Oh my god, I loved the Wii.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: That was when Tucker and I fell in love.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: We fell in love.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: We were in a Hilo Jack League, we'd go every Tuesday night, we'd play in the league, and then we'd play the Wii, and then we would play erotic photo hunt.
- 35:04SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: You know what's funny?
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: Pete and I used to play that.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: Like, but like what was better than erotic photohunt?
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: I every bar should have it.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: We would sit there in the corner for hours, just throwing dollar bills in that get me a naked half-naked woman, two half-naked women, and just figure out spot the difference.
- 35:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh, her nipples hanging out on this one.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: Like, this is crazy.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: I know, I know.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: We're in the middle of a bar.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Um what about the screensavers?
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: The Microsoft screensavers.
- 35:38SPEAKER_01: Do you remember those?
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: It was like the squares that would like appear and move around, and like the balls would bounce, and then oh my god.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: I still kind of you could watch those for hours.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: The ball would get like it would bounce, but before it bounced, it would like almost like compress and then like kind of or like you'd wait for it to go into the corner, and every time it would get so close, and then it wouldn't go into it.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know what?
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: I just have a couple I gotta like mention here because I know we're getting close.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: So things that I think that are important that we kind of skipped over.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: One would be beanie babies, huge.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: I had that on there.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Beanie babies, Furbies, to the Mielmo, pogs, those are all on my on my obsessions.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: All right, but above all, for me, which had a huge moment.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, actually, mechanical pencils.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: That was that's one that was like yeah, those are still kicking out.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: Wait, really quick for beanie babies though, I would love to do some intel on are they as worth as much as everyone said they were going to be?
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: No.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Can you get$25,000 for the Princess Diana Beanie Baby?
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: No, maybe, but you can't, maybe for the Princess Diana one.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: But there's Pokemon cards that are like through the roof.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: Which I never I've never gotten into cards.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: Pogs and Pokemon cards.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: I was like, I'm skipping this whole fucking thing.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: Tucker and Crosby have just gotten into like basketball cards.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: And they go and they buy them and they open them up and they wanna like, and Crosby has one that's somebody that's gonna get drafted in the WNBA that's gonna be worth a bunch of money.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: And so they're really into that.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: And I think that's actually really cute.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: It is cute.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: It's kind of coming back, I think.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: Cards.
- 37:09SPEAKER_00: It's definitely coming back, but it's funny because they did documentary probably like four or five years ago about how that completely tanked and people were just like selling all their shit or burning all their shit, and now they're all back and like more like you're worth more than ever.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: Slap bracelets, slap bracelets are a big ones.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: Did you ever hear the legend?
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Did you oh, so you did hear they were slice people's wrists.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: If you look at slap bracelets now, they're not made, like they don't do the metal anymore.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: No, they're plastic.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which is which is probably a much better idea.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: Better and lame.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: So wait a minute.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: Do you think that really happened when someone slit their wrist with a slap bracelet?
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Let's let let's Google it.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Because here's the thing you never slap the the underside of your wrist, which I feel is the more dangerous side.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: I don't think anyone like committed suicide through slap bracelet.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: I think that you probably definitely had some time.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Do you know how hard you would have to like slap your wrist with a slap bracelet to fucking Well, not if it was like the metal one.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, because you'd go hard with those, you know?
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: Like it wasn't like you were just like gently slapping it like that.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: Well, you were slapping the shit of them.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: It says yes, cheap knockoffs of the original slap bracelet.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: So let's not take the slap bracelet's name in vain.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: So it's buy nice or buy twice, but in this case it's buy nice or you're in some you're in some shit.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: You're you're bleeding.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: You get what you pay for.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: You get what you get, you don't get upset.
- 38:32SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 38:32SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Well, anything else?
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: Let me see.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: Um what there is one more thing that I want to talk about.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: Trapper keepers that wouldn't trapper keep I mean, that's 80s.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: No, something that would never happen today.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: The milk ads.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: When big milk decided to start using celebrities half naked.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: Remember that?
- 38:53unknown: Oh my god.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: Like got milk with like milk mustache.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: And not always half naked.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: But you know what's funny?
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Quippy.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: Do you want to talk about nostalgia?
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: I we have a milkman now.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, are you going Monroe?
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: No, we're going like a modern milkman.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: It's called I think it's like buy milk at the store.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: You know, I know.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: That's this isn't my this isn't my flavor.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: But like here's the thing though.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: I will say I bet it's really good milk.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, to wake up on a in a morning and see like that, like the crate with the milk and like the ice and all that, and you're like, okay.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: And then it's the kids are like, this is the best milk I've ever had in my entire life.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, all right, well, you know, because you can get chocolate milk.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: You get we get sourdough bread.
- 39:37SPEAKER_00: So the milkman just isn't a one-trick pony anymore.
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: So how like, can you give me an an idea of how much this costs?
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm sure it's a I'm sure it's how do I know?
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: You're in$12 a gallon.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you what.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: I went out to I get a get a price on this now that we're doing this parent talk.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: Because this wouldn't have been amazing.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: Me, all the boys.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: So me, just me, Jack, Ben, Mick, Henry, Tosh.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: It took me a minute there to get there.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: And then our neighbor Willow, who is constantly watching the third parent of your child.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: Constantly watching the littlest guy.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: They like best friends.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: We go to hibachi.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: How much, how much, how much did I lay out for hibachi?
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: 350.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: Right there.
- 40:17SPEAKER_01: Was it?
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was 340, 333.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: And I was like wait, pre-tip or post-tip?
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: After tip?
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: I was post-tip.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: So I got there was so it was actually it was about it was 270, I left 60.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: Is that the right amount?
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: That's a good tip.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, hibachi's kind of weird too, because it's like, who are you tipping?
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: Like, are you tipping the but the guy had me cracking up?
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, but is he getting the tips?
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: Because I don't think it should just go to the people that like bring you the salad.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: We yeah, we didn't see much of anybody else.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: Like it was one of those things where we like sat there and we were like, can we pay?
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: It was like like 15 minutes later.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: After the guy left, he just kind of left his high and dry.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: But the the It's such a letdown.
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: It's such a like, what's the word?
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: Um such a dopamine loss when the guy like leaves and you're like you're just sitting there with your like sad plate of like rice and I know, I know, I know.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, he was doing he did the whole thing though, like throwing eggs.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: Volcano.
- 41:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they used to throw shrimp shrimp back in the day, but now they throw like fucking zucchini and yeah, and it's now it's raw.
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: That seems a little dangerous too.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: It's raw now too, because I guess they were probably like burning people's eyes and stuff.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: Because look, yeah, but like me and Jack catch every single one, 100%.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: Tosh and the the neighbor, fucking zucchinis off the eyes, the head.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm like, I where's the coordination here?
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: I don't get I don't, I'm not, I have no coordination.
- 41:37SPEAKER_01: That's exactly how it is for me, too.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: But I don't even want it, like don't throw anything at me.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: I don't want to I don't want to try to do that.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: They do that too, yeah.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: So that's fun.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: But the um the clink, like the it's so funny to just watch someone because there's people who are just gonna basically have zucchini thrown at their forehead.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because that's what's gonna happen over and over again.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: I don't even really want zucchini.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: You know it was a slog to get that zucchini down after like raw zucchini after like 14 pieces.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: With all the stuff is great, yeah, you know, yeah, softened up a little bit, you know.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: I mean it's is it great?
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: It's like okay, it's bearable.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, with all mixed together.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: If it's like in a bowl, yeah, not bad.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: But but anyways, back to the milk ads.
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: What do you think that was about?
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: Do you think it was just literally big milk?
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: Was like, let's invest so much.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, did all the because like well, I just don't understand because like there's no one it's not like q-tips that like you have the monopoly on the situation.
- 42:39SPEAKER_01: Like there's so many different kinds of milk.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: So, like, did each leader of the milk industry?
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: They're all on a board, like they're all on a board, like it's the milk, like like like in what was it in the Santa Claus when like all the all the like Easter bunny and everyone like all came together?
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: That's what it is.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: You got Gorelic, you got Hood, you got Morale, and that's just Rhode Island.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: And this is all on our this is and they have those meetings, they're like, this is in all of our best interests.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, maybe it's like the farmers.
- 43:05unknown: Oh yeah.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: Which were which I was still doing, what do you do for milk?
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: Like, what's your milk, what's your milk number?
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: I told you.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: No, but I mean like no no no, like what like percentage?
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: What are you doing?
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm I'm whole.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: You're whole, it's like putting your mouth on a cow's teeth.
- 43:22unknown: That's it.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I don't want to go, man.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: Just give me a straight.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: I some I have whole now because Remy just turned one and I'm switching her over to regular milk instead of me as the cow, unfortunately.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: It's a lot more expensive these days.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: And I'll water it down.
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: If I want like a little cereal, I'm not gonna drink a glass of cereal.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: You're gonna water down the hole?
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna water down the hole if I put it in some cereal.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: But you'll sit there with a bowl of whipped cream.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Uh not a bowl.
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: Which is 140%.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Once again, I do a scoop of peanut butter, three to four chocolate chips on top, and then a little squirt of whipped cream on top.
- 43:59SPEAKER_00: Three to four Chocolate chips is obnoxious.
- 44:01SPEAKER_00: Three to four cho like one.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: Well, like just enough to like go on the chip.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: A bag of chips lasts you fucking a year and a half.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: Well, no, because everybody in the family eats the chocolate chips.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: But it's just, I don't want to like, I'm not trying to get like an intense coating of chocolate chips.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: I just like, you know, it's usually a four to five bite situation.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: So I split it up so there's one chocolate chip in each bite.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: There's whipped cream, chocolate chip, and peanut butter in each bite of my treat.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: And yeah, what's the alternative?
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: Like, I I woo, I'm gonna have a bowl of cereal.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, I used to do that.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: I used to do it.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: And it's delicious, but that's rocking, you know, two, three hundred calories right there.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: And sometimes I don't want to do that.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: I just want a little savory treat.
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: Well, all I'm saying to you is, and not to be the dead horse, but you're having that's more calories than you think.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like it's not peanut butter's heavy, dude.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: Peanut butter is heavy, but it's protein.
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: It fills me up.
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: Like what's what's a cookie doesn't do anything, you know.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: You eat a cookie and then you're like, I want something else immediately.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: Once the Halloween candy comes in, then we'll talk.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: I'll switch over to the mini Halloween candy, you know?
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, do that.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: I'm not under an impression that like I'm sitting here, I'm gonna like lose weight from eating a scoop of peanut butter every night.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: But if I'll be onto some fooze, you know, I'm just like it's just something to eat that will give me so bad what I'm looking for, and then I'll feel satisfied.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: I'll fill me up a little bit.
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: I will essentially I before I forget to mention, because proud listener of the podcast, John Eric, you know, been through it through thick and thin with us.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: He wants us to do Legend.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: I'm into that, but I'm still too close to Tom Cruise from Top Gun.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: I need a little bit more of a buffer.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking Well, Legend Legend's a good Halloween sort of oh, is it a Halloween movie?
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't say it's a Halloween movie, but I would say you've certainly got some Halloween themes going on.
- 45:55SPEAKER_01: We could also do like a creepy Tom Cruise.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: Because then wasn't he an AI?
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: No, but he was in that.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: What's that one?
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: Is it Magnolia or like Vanilla Sky?
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Vanilla Sky.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Vanilla Sky and Magnolia is a a good fall one.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: So we could do a we could do a fall Tom Cruise.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: And autumn, we'll call it autumnal Tom Cruise.
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: No, but listen.
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: Yes, I like that a lot actually.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: And then we'll do legend and we'll do it.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: Or we can call it the fall of Tom Cruise.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I don't like Tom Cruise scares me.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: And I don't want to put that out in the universe, like that people think that we're gonna try to take him down because then Scientology will probably come after us and that's true, at minimum, report us for using unauthorized music.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: By the way, that remember that person that Bobby Altov that stole our podcast?
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: She did.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: She did.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: She she did.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: Yes, Bobby Altoff stole our podcast name because when I searched for the podcast info, the IP, the whatever, all of it was there.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: And then one day she shows up a month and a half after we do you think that we should fight her?
- 47:05SPEAKER_01: No, because she is actually gonna be on the new how she had a rough go of things.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: Like she ended up getting divorced, she got dragged through the mud, and she's now going to be on the new Mormon wives of LA or whatever.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: She's Mormon?
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: That's the thing about it.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: I don't think any of them are actually Mormon.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: The secret lives of like California wives or something like that, whatever.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: They're doing a California version of it, and she's on it, and she has a whole new face.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: I let it be.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: We let karma do its thing, and it yeah, it did.
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: She got a whole new face.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's got like the lips, the fillers, the you know, all that jazz.
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:45unknown: Okay.
- 47:46SPEAKER_01: So I think we just let it be.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: And that's my favorite way to get karma is just put it in God's hands.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: You fucked up, Bobby.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: Well, this was great.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: I think we I think we did it.
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: I think we ran it back even after we, you know, had our mishap.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: The first time though, three and a half years the first time I've ever hit forgotten to hit.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: You know what's funny?
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: It I had the record thing, it said like record on computer, and I didn't I didn't hit it.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: So all right, we will see you next week.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: See you next week.
