- 0:05Joined this morning by Andrew Larson. Of course, Andrew. He comes to
- 0:08us from Larsen Home Services. The website Larsenhomeservices dot com. That's l A

- 0:18Services six so eight five three five forty three forty three. That's five three
- 0:23five forty three forty three. Andrew, how are you doing this week?
- 0:27I'm doing great, man, Just trying to stay keep my head above water.
- 0:30Yeah, aren't we all? And we're going to talk about water.
- 0:33Have you ever been out to out to the Philly area. Yes, I
- 0:37mean I've driven through it, never stayed there. I don't know what it
- 0:41is about folks in Philly, but they don't say water. They say water
- 0:45water. I like, tell somebody for woo d e R water. I
- 0:51don't know what that is, but uh, that's their problem. Our problem
- 0:54is the actual water right now. And wow, have we gotten a ton
- 0:58of it, haven't we? Andrew? We have. You know last year
- 1:00we sat here and we talked about, well, he's going to rain pretty
- 1:04soon and this and that. Now I'm like, holy cow, we set
- 1:10we have set more appointments. We set more appointments in the month of June
- 1:15than almost all of the rest of the year combined. Wow, it is.
- 1:19It's unbelievably busy, and honestly, it's unfortunate. Because of all this
- 1:23rain, issues with gutters and roofing really start to show themselves. And I
- 1:30can't tell you how many people I've talked to that are like, man,
- 1:33I've never had water in the basement before. Well, if there's a flaw
- 1:38in the system, meaning great around your yard, your gutter system, your
- 1:45sump pump, it will show itself during rains like what we've had a couple
- 1:49of weeks ago. What did we have depending on where you were in our
- 1:52area, somewhere between like three and six inches. That's unreal. And then
- 2:00I don't even know what we got yesterday another two to three inches. So
- 2:06if you're getting water in your basement, if you're worried about getting water in
- 2:09your basement, have us come out take a look assess your property, because
- 2:17a lot of times if your gutters are overflowing, obviously that's an issue,
- 2:22but it's more than that, you know, Again, I always talk about
- 2:25it's a whole system. We've got to get the water from the roof into
- 2:29the gutters, down the down spots and ones it hits the ground around the
- 2:30house. Yeah, it needs to go away. So that's something we come
- 2:36out. We take a lot of pride in sometimes completely re engineering your drainage
- 2:42system or your gutter system, because your gutters you have on your home,
- 2:45they might be working when they're not clogged as in water is going down them,
- 2:49but if it's not going away from the house, it doesn't do any
- 2:51good and it will end up in your basement. And that's what people are
- 2:53dealing with. I've seen some pumps. There were some pumps that couldn't keep
- 2:57up. Wow, you know. So what's crazy to me is this,
- 3:01Andrew and and it's it's something that you mentioned, you know, worry about
- 3:05water and basements. And we talked about what we dealt with last year at
- 3:08the opposite end of the spectrum. And I know you were urging folks,
- 3:12now is the time to have lur Stome services come out talk about gutters,
- 3:15shutter and some other things that you guys are able to do to help keep
- 3:19basements dry. And this season it's it's come home to roost. I will
- 3:23say one of those things that I've learned over the years and talking with you
- 3:27and getting to know you, I know you when you're driving around you're oftentimes
- 3:30looking at roofs and other things. One of the other things I know you're
- 3:34looking at is if it's raining, you're paying attention to gutters. And when
- 3:37we think sometimes about clog gutters, that's a big issue. Another thing that
- 3:40I know you see is and oftentimes homeowners don't see because if it's pouring out,
- 3:45you're not looking at your gutters. You're seeing gutters that are that are
- 3:49pitched improperly or have a have like a are coming to like a valley,
- 3:53and you're seeing water overflow those those gutters and they're creating depressions in the soil
- 4:00low that's then rushing that water back into the basement. All of these things,
- 4:03from keeping the debris out to having properly pitched gutters, to having gutter
- 4:09gutters that you don't have to don't have to worry about water coming into your
- 4:12basement. All of this stuff is solved with a call to Larstom Services and
- 4:15talking about gutter shutter and having your having your gutters massively improved on your home
- 4:21by simply just making that phone call. It's pretty easy to do, Andrew,
- 4:25It's it's it's very easy to do. All you got to do is
- 4:28have us come out, get a price, sign up, and we'll get
- 4:30them put on for you. But I was I had to drive to Middleton
- 4:32yesterday morning, and I mean it was absolutely downpouring, and as I'm driving,
- 4:38I'm driving through some houses and these gutters are pretty much everybody's honestly,
- 4:43we're overflowing like waterfalls and falling into not great areas around their house. And
- 4:51what happens is you might not have a problem for a long time because gutters
- 4:56overflow, and they overflow and they keep overflowing in the same spots. Now
- 5:00your ground starts to settle next to your house, whereas before it would hit
- 5:03and run away. Well, now it's starting to settle and settle and settle.
- 5:06Now we get a pocket of water. Now it starts to pull up
- 5:10and eventually it makes its way in the house. If you've got a some
- 5:14pump system, great, sometimes that'll take care of it, but sometimes it
- 5:16can't keep up with rain like that. And now we get water in the
- 5:19basement. Sometimes it's happened. Sometimes it's happening for a long time and people
- 5:24don't even know because it's a little bit. But that can even be more
- 5:27of a problem because now we've got moisture and mold starting to grow behind the
- 5:30wall that we don't even know about. If it just rains a bunch and
- 5:34water comes in right away, we can take care of it. It's bad
- 5:38when that's creating a moisture problem that we don't even see, because that's when
- 5:43we start to get mold. I mean, I've been to houses where we've
- 5:46torn open a wall or they've torn open a wall because they got water in
- 5:49the basement. We've come to look and they had mushrooms in the wall.
- 5:53That means you've had a moisture problem for a long time. That is air
- 5:57and mold spores that you are breathing in. Con So, I mean,
- 6:00I don't want to get into the dangerous part of it, but there's a
- 6:02reason that we have gutters on the home, and with gutter shutter, we
- 6:06know that it will handle the water. It is the largest gutter you can
- 6:12put on your home, unless you're going to go to an industrial like custom
- 6:15eight inch gutter which nobody puts on a house and it's going to handle all
- 6:20the water. We guarantee that if it ever clogs, we clean it.
- 6:24If it's leaking, overflowing, if water's getting behind it, if ice ever
- 6:27damages it, pulls it off the house, anything's wrong with it, we're
- 6:30going to fix it or we're going to replace it. And another actually great
- 6:34benefit of it is that, say we got windstorms like we've had I don't
- 6:40even know how many this year, Yeah, and limbs and trees falling over.
- 6:44If it hits a certain part of it and recks a part of the
- 6:46hood, we can just replace that part of the hood. We don't have
- 6:48to replace the entire system unless it damage is the gutter itself. But what
- 6:51we're finding, with the strength of the hood and with the strength of the
- 6:57brackets, we're able to just replace some section, which is really nice for
- 7:00a homeowner because, as we've been talking about with insurance companies, the insurance
- 7:04business is changing, and I urge people if you haven't checked into your duct
- 7:09deductibles and your actual cash value policies versus your recoverable cash policies, look into
- 7:16it because a lot of people are sitting in a bad spot and they don't
- 7:20They don't even know it. They've been sent a letter or emailed the letter
- 7:24and didn't read it, and then they go to file the claim and realize
- 7:28that, oh wow, I mean to replace this damage section of our roof.
- 7:31We have a seven thousand dollars deductible, so now you're going to pay
- 7:34for it out of your pocket. We just want people to understand because claims
- 7:39are just getting denied left and right, left and right, and I think
- 7:42homeowners need to look at it more as a if you're getting anything perfect,
- 7:46it's an opportunity for a nice down payment to get a roof and got our
- 7:49system on your home that you need and deserve. Because the days of having
- 7:55a few hail dents and getting a roof replaced are they're done. It's going
- 8:01going quickly, So check into that stuff. And if you're honestly, if
- 8:05you're worried or concerned, even if you haven't gotten water in the basement yet,
- 8:09yeah, but you watch your gutters overflow and you're worried about it,
- 8:13give us a call. If you watch your gutters overflow and you're not worried
- 8:16about it, you really need to give us a call. It's really important.
- 8:20The other thing, too, is having that peace of mind is you
- 8:22know, as you have have somebody from Larsen and Home Services come out,
- 8:26take a look at at your gutter, take a look at the roof as
- 8:28well, and just check things out, and you know it comes back clean,
- 8:31bill of health. You're good to go. But as we think about
- 8:33and I had a situation earlier this week where I was hearing from folks who
- 8:37had recently dealt with significant flooding in their basement and hearing their stories about,
- 8:43you know, about losing everything in their basement and losing you know, family
- 8:48memories. And these are houses that are hundreds of years old, that have
- 8:52never experienced flooding before. Now all of a sudden they are and so much
- 8:58sadness and so much loss. A simple phone call and having your guys come
- 9:01out take a look at at the gutters and taking a look to make sure
- 9:05that the water's getting away from the house. What a great peace of mind.
- 9:09And if there is a problem, dealing with it before you're in that
- 9:11situation where you're going we lost these photo albums, We lost these family memories.
- 9:16My kids, you know, their favorite blanket was down in the basement
- 9:18and it and it flooded and we had to throw it out. Those are
- 9:22the type of things we're talking about. That's why it's so important today to
- 9:24give Andrew and the team at Larstorm Services a call six oh eight five three
- 9:28five forty three forty three. That's five three, five four three fourth three.
- 9:31As we look at the forecast more rain ahead. As we know we're
- 9:35still in early July, we've got more storms coming throughout the summer. Now
- 9:39is the time to give them a call. Six o' eight, five three
- 9:41five forty three forty three. That's five three, five four three four three.
- 9:46Andrew, it's great talking with you, my friend. You have a
- 9:48fantastic fourth of July and we will do this all again real soon, will
- 9:52you too next week and again the number six oh eight, five three,
