- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with her radio. Hi, Hi, everybody,
- 0:06Speaker 1: Welcome to the o Geez. We're back in the house.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We're back. We're back another week. You can't get us yet,
- 0:15Speaker 1: you cannot cannot get rid of us yet. We are
- 0:19Speaker 1: back and this week with a very special Uh you know,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I guess we'd say a special special, very special special
- 0:30Speaker 1: because you know, a lot of news right now about
- 0:33Speaker 1: the bachelor's stuff is regarding the breakup stuff right like,
- 0:37Speaker 1: there's a lot of the couples that are hitting the
- 0:39Speaker 1: skids this month and last month. Um, Michelle Young uh,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and I'm not sure how to say her fiance is
- 0:49Speaker 1: it Nate? Is it is a cool way to spell Nate.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Katie Thurston her second break up with someone from her
- 0:55Speaker 1: seasonally going through and then Tasia Adams and Zach Wow
- 1:00Speaker 1: back but still yeah, right Claire in Dale, Claire, you know,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I'm Claire for a long time. I know you have
- 1:06Speaker 1: to She kind of has been around, kicking around for
- 1:08Speaker 1: a while. She literally like bailed on her season early
- 1:11Speaker 1: like half yea because she was finally answered, she you know,
- 1:17Speaker 1: put it all done and they split up. Peter Webber,
- 1:21Speaker 1: the Pilot, he had his second breakup, right, Kelly flannagain
- 1:24Speaker 1: or maybe third break up? So he was he was
- 1:32Speaker 1: definitely staying in his dating pool. He wasn't. He wasn't
- 1:35Speaker 1: kicking around as far as we know. But well, I'm
- 1:38Speaker 1: I have I think the news of or the gossip
- 1:41Speaker 1: at least was that he was kicking around outside of
- 1:44Speaker 1: his pool as well. But you know, I don't know.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I remember Old I Am Funny from his season. For
- 1:51Speaker 1: some reason, I remember his mom. That's why I remember
- 1:54Speaker 1: from his season. I don't even remember him. I don't
- 1:56Speaker 1: remember what he doesn't remember his mom? Who handful? Yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 1: holy gol. I yeah, I agree, um, And I hope
- 2:08Speaker 1: that she learned a little bit about herself and communication.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And I don't know, I just I that was a
- 2:15Speaker 1: hard season, man, especially as a mother, like I remember
- 2:21Speaker 1: being like, really would I I don't know that I
- 2:24Speaker 1: would say these things to my son's fiance or friend
- 2:30Speaker 1: or girlfriend. Yeah, you know, I think I was accused
- 2:35Speaker 1: of this when I was on the Bachelor, and during
- 2:37Speaker 1: that whole time and for many years after that, I
- 2:40Speaker 1: was probably a little too uh nice and polite stuff
- 2:45Speaker 1: and to their parents or to their family just in general,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know, just people who used to. I used to
- 2:50Speaker 1: do these specials where people would go, you know, hey,
- 2:53Speaker 1: were you like hungover something? Today? I'm like, why because
- 2:56Speaker 1: you were way meaner and funnier on this one than
- 2:58Speaker 1: you usually are. Like, so, I feel like I get
- 3:02Speaker 1: a little bit of a wrap for being the nice guy,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and I'm okay with that. But I just think there's
- 3:07Speaker 1: a time and place for certain things, and that she
- 3:13Speaker 1: was piece work. Um, so I feel like talking about
- 3:18Speaker 1: the breakups that what's interesting to me. I actually just
- 3:23Speaker 1: asked Ryan what his thoughts were. You know, what are
- 3:25Speaker 1: your thoughts on bachelor breakups? And why do they happen?
- 3:28Speaker 1: And and um, obviously there are many reasons that they
- 3:33Speaker 1: can happen. I mean, just like you take the relationships
- 3:38Speaker 1: that are within Bachelor Nation, take them outside of Bachelor Nation.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I've said this before, I think on the podcast, but
- 3:43Speaker 1: you basically like, if you compare our relationships with within
- 3:48Speaker 1: the show to the relationships that you've had outside of
- 3:51Speaker 1: the show, how many don't work out before you're on
- 3:55Speaker 1: the Bachelor. Like I have felt like it's always been
- 3:59Speaker 1: unfair for people to say there's so many breakups within
- 4:03Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation, but there's so many breakups in real life too,
- 4:07Speaker 1: so so I just want that to be known to
- 4:09Speaker 1: start this conversation, because even though we do have breakups
- 4:13Speaker 1: within Bachelor Nation, it's going to happen. I mean, it's
- 4:17Speaker 1: real life, and and you get to know these people
- 4:21Speaker 1: in a very short period of time and totally isolated
- 4:25Speaker 1: from all the rest of your life, so you don't
- 4:28Speaker 1: have to worry about your family, your work, your friends,
- 4:32Speaker 1: any other obligations, responsibilities, even your rent, like you know
- 4:36Speaker 1: that stuff is paid for prior. I just feel like
- 4:40Speaker 1: we live in a bubble and to compare it to
- 4:43Speaker 1: what happens in real life would be a bit more fair. Um,
- 4:48Speaker 1: in terms of how many breakups happen. I think you
- 4:51Speaker 1: and I are a direct reflection of the success rate
- 4:55Speaker 1: of the show. Right, you had a successful relationship coming
- 4:58Speaker 1: off the show. My relationship coming off of the show,
- 5:01Speaker 1: we broke up, So like I can, I can speak
- 5:03Speaker 1: from personal experience about why I think we were there,
- 5:06Speaker 1: you know, I think, and and you can definitely speak
- 5:09Speaker 1: from your personal relationship as to why you guys were successful.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I think you know a lot of it is a
- 5:14Speaker 1: lot of it's going to be How would I even
- 5:17Speaker 1: say ancillary to the to the relationship in and of itself, right,
- 5:21Speaker 1: we especially during our times on the show, which is
- 5:24Speaker 1: much different than today, we met and came off of
- 5:29Speaker 1: that show. Either I gave a promise ring you got
- 5:32Speaker 1: proposed to on the show. Um and no I'm just kidding,
- 5:38Speaker 1: but you did. I proposed and or you didn't. Let
- 5:42Speaker 1: Charlie you do no, no, no no, yeah no, Charlie
- 5:45Speaker 1: didn't propose. You got proposed to and I gave a
- 5:47Speaker 1: promise ring rather, But it was really when you look
- 5:51Speaker 1: at the first day of taping to last day of taping,
- 5:54Speaker 1: we were at best five and a half six weeks.
- 5:56Speaker 1: At best we were six weeks. Yeah, right, So to
- 5:59Speaker 1: fentail we were six weeks, and that included the first
- 6:02Speaker 1: week of you know, kind of just having fun and
- 6:06Speaker 1: the first yeah yeah, I mean, and and then you know,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I mean, so so that's bananas. I mean, we're really
- 6:12Speaker 1: probably talking more about five weeks and a pressure cook
- 6:15Speaker 1: if that. If that even yeah, and now now it's
- 6:18Speaker 1: like now it's like what maybe two months, which is
- 6:22Speaker 1: still I mean I think it's actually three months, but
- 6:25Speaker 1: even that, I mean, your your quality time with this
- 6:28Speaker 1: person that you are getting possibly engaged to spending the
- 6:31Speaker 1: rest of your life with You're spending maybe a month
- 6:35Speaker 1: with you know, and that's without anything else in your life,
- 6:40Speaker 1: you know, not talking to anybody except focusing on this relationship.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So you get one day and right one day, get
- 6:50Speaker 1: one day to meet their family, and not even an
- 6:52Speaker 1: entire day. It's like maybe a few hours and you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and that and it's crazy. That mean, when you look
- 7:00Speaker 1: at it, it's like you won the lottery. You really did,
- 7:02Speaker 1: interested like you you won the lottery in then you
- 7:04Speaker 1: and Ryan found each other. I mean, I will say
- 7:07Speaker 1: and I was an early adopter to the two of you.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Even in house when Ryan and I started, beds were
- 7:12Speaker 1: four feet away from each other. And I used to
- 7:13Speaker 1: say it all the time and I and I still
- 7:15Speaker 1: say it to this day whenever I'm asked. But I
- 7:17Speaker 1: was always like, man, don't get me wrong, I had
- 7:19Speaker 1: a crush on Trista to we we but we had
- 7:21Speaker 1: this kind of friend vibe and I'm like, but I
- 7:24Speaker 1: also knew that this guy is crazy committed to this
- 7:29Speaker 1: woman already. And if you want to be a jackass
- 7:34Speaker 1: and trying to get in the way of that just
- 7:35Speaker 1: because you want to win something, or do you want
- 7:37Speaker 1: to like get out of the way and let some
- 7:39Speaker 1: real magic happen, you know, And it was one of
- 7:42Speaker 1: those things where it was like I just remember watching that, going, Wow,
- 7:45Speaker 1: this has got to work out the way I wanted
- 7:46Speaker 1: to work out, because you know, I didn't. I didn't
- 7:49Speaker 1: end up on Hometowns with you. So I went home
- 7:51Speaker 1: and I was watching it unfold with everybody else. But
- 7:54Speaker 1: I knew I was right. You know, it's gotta be Ryan.
- 7:56Speaker 1: It's gotta be Ryan. And so I was so happy
- 7:58Speaker 1: when it was like I was like, yeah, thank you,
- 8:01Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, no, we did. We did hit the jackpot,
- 8:05Speaker 1: that is for sure. But it's not like we're perfect.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You know. We have our ups and downs and we
- 8:10Speaker 1: have to work really hard. And I think that that
- 8:12Speaker 1: also is maybe another reason. Well there's multiple reasons, and
- 8:17Speaker 1: we can get into it, but I think that one
- 8:20Speaker 1: of those reasons is that we were in a place
- 8:23Speaker 1: in our life where we were ready for a committed relationship. Right.
- 8:26Speaker 1: So I don't know if it's they have they're starting earlier,
- 8:31Speaker 1: Like I feel like oftentimes lately the people on the
- 8:36Speaker 1: show are younger. And it's not to say that you
- 8:39Speaker 1: cannot know who you are and what you want out
- 8:42Speaker 1: of life when you're twenty five. It's not to say
- 8:44Speaker 1: that there are plenty of people out there who are
- 8:47Speaker 1: way younger than um, you know, any of the people
- 8:51Speaker 1: on the show, and are ready for a committed relationship
- 8:54Speaker 1: and ready to find that person who fits into what
- 8:58Speaker 1: they want out of life, right. Um. But I do
- 9:01Speaker 1: think that age plays a factor in this, Like Michelle
- 9:05Speaker 1: um and Nate nine and twenty seven, and I don't
- 9:10Speaker 1: know if that is I guess they were younger on
- 9:12Speaker 1: the show obviously, who knows, Maybe they just um, you know.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Michelle has also recently said that she was essentially breaking
- 9:20Speaker 1: up from her career as as a teacher, and um,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you know, God bless our teachers because of what they
- 9:31Speaker 1: have to deal with in this country, um and and
- 9:34Speaker 1: and it's just a really hard job, not getting a
- 9:37Speaker 1: lot of um financial reward for for doing one of
- 9:42Speaker 1: the most honorable jobs, I feel like, um, in our country,
- 9:46Speaker 1: in our world anyway. So who knows why she decided
- 9:50Speaker 1: to not teach, but I feel like that kind of
- 9:53Speaker 1: shows also that maybe she wasn't set, you know, and
- 9:56Speaker 1: maybe she wasn't ready yet. Um. In terms of her age,
- 10:04Speaker 1: like maybe she needed a little bit more time, and
- 10:06Speaker 1: maybe Nate did too. I obviously we don't know what
- 10:09Speaker 1: exactly happened in the relationship, and I'm not saying that
- 10:12Speaker 1: we need to. It's none of my business. I don't
- 10:14Speaker 1: think it's anyone else's business. But in talking about why
- 10:17Speaker 1: do breakups happen in Batchel Nation and what is happening, um,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I just feel like maybe it would be wise for
- 10:24Speaker 1: the show to maybe, I don't know, get some people
- 10:28Speaker 1: who might be a little bit older, Yeah, couples. I
- 10:33Speaker 1: wish I had, you know, I wish I had that
- 10:34Speaker 1: as my excuse. When I was on the show, I
- 10:37Speaker 1: was thirty two, and so I mean I was, I was,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I was thirty one on your season, and then I
- 10:46Speaker 1: was thirty two by the time I became the Bachelor,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and you know, and I was, I did have a
- 10:52Speaker 1: quickie starter marriage that happened, you know, years ago when
- 10:55Speaker 1: I was a touring musician, So I was. I used
- 10:58Speaker 1: to have a theory on it until I hell, I
- 11:00Speaker 1: went through it, and then I was like, well, that
- 11:02Speaker 1: theory doesn't work because I always thought, you know, oh, well,
- 11:06Speaker 1: it's it's because it's because these people get so much
- 11:08Speaker 1: attention so fast, right, and but I came from this
- 11:11Speaker 1: kind of different world, was already entertainment forever. You know.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Remind me of you saying that you continue your story.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But that's what I think. There's a couple of things
- 11:21Speaker 1: to it, right, And so I think about in my
- 11:24Speaker 1: particular circumstance with Estella, and when we were together, I
- 11:29Speaker 1: can say honestly that I had really great intentions and
- 11:34Speaker 1: she was awesome. Um. But you know you said it best.
- 11:38Speaker 1: You said, you know, some people just aren't ready. Well,
- 11:41Speaker 1: I was at this point where, you know, I didn't
- 11:43Speaker 1: propose for a reason. And the reason I didn't propose,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and I used to say it to you all the
- 11:47Speaker 1: time jokingly when we talked about, like I don't want
- 11:49Speaker 1: to be ross from friends and just keep racking up
- 11:50Speaker 1: a bunch of you know, marriages and divorces. But you
- 11:53Speaker 1: know I did that anyway. Um. But the point is,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I was, you know, on the show, and I was like,
- 11:58Speaker 1: you know, I don't feel the feelings I think I
- 12:00Speaker 1: should feel right now, and so I want to see
- 12:02Speaker 1: how it comes, you know. And then and then you know,
- 12:05Speaker 1: when you're off camera, something that you and Ryan really
- 12:08Speaker 1: committed to, which I think was great. Was you guys
- 12:10Speaker 1: really put in the work and put in the time.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And I think it becomes easy for people, especially nowadays
- 12:18Speaker 1: with social media and all these tooth whitening kits and
- 12:20Speaker 1: everything else, they all of a sudden, you know, it's
- 12:23Speaker 1: like squirrel, you know, shiny object. They're they're going to
- 12:25Speaker 1: a million directions, you know, and uh, I think, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 1: maybe that's got something to do with it. I mean,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I can say for sure, you know then I you know,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I was just I realized I wasn't where I needed
- 12:37Speaker 1: to be emotionally, and and but you know, I can
- 12:40Speaker 1: say that, you know, it had nothing to do with
- 12:42Speaker 1: the Stella and I had nothing to do with the show.
- 12:45Speaker 1: It had to do with me and you just you
- 12:48Speaker 1: just realized that you weren't meant for each other. And
- 12:49Speaker 1: that is okay. That's what Michelle and Nate kind of said,
- 12:53Speaker 1: is that sometimes you meet your you meet this person
- 12:55Speaker 1: that you really are falling in love with, but they're
- 12:58Speaker 1: not meant to be your ever person. So I I
- 13:01Speaker 1: get it, but I think you hit another nail on
- 13:04Speaker 1: the head. And that's the attention piece Ryan was saying.
- 13:08Speaker 1: You know, it was really hard for him because social
- 13:10Speaker 1: media wasn't around, so he wasn't seeing pictures of me wherever.
- 13:14Speaker 1: But he knew. So in the time that, um, between
- 13:19Speaker 1: when we got engaged and when we could publicly be together, right,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I think it was, it was three months for us.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And you're basically promoting the show at that time, and
- 13:26Speaker 1: I was exactly I was promote, like promoting the show.
- 13:30Speaker 1: People knew who I was, but people didn't know who
- 13:32Speaker 1: Ryan was yet because he hadn't been on TV yet.
- 13:34Speaker 1: So those three months, he goes back to his regular
- 13:36Speaker 1: life as a firefighter in Veil, and I proceed to
- 13:42Speaker 1: attend the Super Bowl, which of course he played in
- 13:46Speaker 1: the NFL. He was like, you get to go to
- 13:47Speaker 1: the super Bowl, what like sitting with Bradley Cooper and
- 13:53Speaker 1: Jennifer Garner and like all the I mean it was insanity. Um.
- 13:58Speaker 1: And then I think I presented at one of the
- 14:00Speaker 1: award shows, like Country Music Awards or am I think
- 14:03Speaker 1: it was actually am as. Um I went to the
- 14:06Speaker 1: Playboy Mansion. Um, like I did a bunch of stuff
- 14:10Speaker 1: that would have been on his bucket list, right and um,
- 14:14Speaker 1: and so I am getting all of these opportunities I
- 14:17Speaker 1: think I did something with Oprah at that time. Um,
- 14:21Speaker 1: I was, you know, co hosting the view. I was
- 14:24Speaker 1: doing all these crazy fun things that I loved. I mean,
- 14:27Speaker 1: they wouldn't necessarily be things that he would want to do,
- 14:30Speaker 1: like co host of you, but still they were really exciting.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And you know, I was out there meeting all kinds
- 14:36Speaker 1: of people and doing these really fun things, and he's
- 14:39Speaker 1: home just in his in his regular life, not being
- 14:42Speaker 1: able to say, that's my fiance, you know, that's so
- 14:45Speaker 1: fun or I want to be there with her. So
- 14:48Speaker 1: I feel like when the lead get when you are
- 14:51Speaker 1: done taping the show, the lead gets to do all
- 14:54Speaker 1: these fun things, right, they get asked to be part
- 14:57Speaker 1: of these opportunities, and um, it's really hard to remain
- 15:02Speaker 1: focused on your relationship in those opportunities because you're like,
- 15:06Speaker 1: this is so exciting and fun, and you're caught up
- 15:08Speaker 1: in the whirlwind. Whirlwind. Uh. So I think that it's
- 15:13Speaker 1: it's also hard for the people who are not the
- 15:15Speaker 1: leads to deal with the attention that the leads get.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Even you know, I talked about how it was during
- 15:24Speaker 1: the time where we couldn't be together, but I think
- 15:27Speaker 1: it's also after that because every interview since then that
- 15:32Speaker 1: we've done, you know, mostly is you know, I think
- 15:38Speaker 1: more focused on on the lead. That's just the nature
- 15:42Speaker 1: of the show, you know, but but also time out
- 15:47Speaker 1: there exactly. But I also in our relationship, to be fair,
- 15:52Speaker 1: you know, he is obviously more of an introvert and
- 15:55Speaker 1: hates the interviews, hates talking to people, and that's kind
- 15:58Speaker 1: of my my thing, like that's why we're here, So
- 16:04Speaker 1: come on the show for God's sake. She's like, no, right,
- 16:07Speaker 1: you know, but every woman I've been with before would
- 16:10Speaker 1: be like, come on, yeah, let's do it. It's just
- 16:13Speaker 1: different and it works for us, you know. So I
- 16:16Speaker 1: think that it's just hard. I think it's hard for
- 16:19Speaker 1: some people after they get off the show to either
- 16:22Speaker 1: like maybe they're introverted as a lead and they don't
- 16:25Speaker 1: want to deal with that stuff, and maybe the other
- 16:27Speaker 1: person is extroverted they and they want to and so
- 16:30Speaker 1: that causes conflict. Or maybe it's like Ryan and I
- 16:33Speaker 1: where you know, I'm out doing these incredible things, and
- 16:37Speaker 1: now that you have social media thrown in the mix. Uh,
- 16:39Speaker 1: Like I can't even imagine, however, that if we had
- 16:42Speaker 1: had social media, Like could you imagine, oh my god,
- 16:45Speaker 1: Trista was seen at the super Bowl with Bradley Cooper.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Would be right. I sat in the next to Bradley
- 16:52Speaker 1: Cooper and people. I mean, I had that all the time.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I remember that during that time, I was like, wait
- 16:58Speaker 1: a minute, I wish I was having as much fun
- 17:00Speaker 1: as they say I'm having. You know, I was having
- 17:03Speaker 1: a blast, but I'm like, I didn't do that, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: And so yeah, I mean I can imagine with social media,
- 17:08Speaker 1: the pressure has got to be astronomical. And then you know,
- 17:11Speaker 1: but then there's also some other couples much like you
- 17:13Speaker 1: and Ryan, you know, like you have Jojo who, honestly,
- 17:17Speaker 1: other other than Trista, I would say that Joe Joe
- 17:20Speaker 1: is probably one of my favorite bachelorettes. I really liked her.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I thought she was fun and really charming, and and
- 17:28Speaker 1: then she ended up with a guy who everybody hated
- 17:30Speaker 1: on the show, like all the other guys, rather than
- 17:32Speaker 1: Jordan Rodgers, and they just announced that they got married, right.
- 17:35Speaker 1: And then Sean and Catherine, of course, I mean, they're
- 17:39Speaker 1: awesome and I love, I honestly literally love their sense
- 17:43Speaker 1: of humor collectively as a couple, and they're great one.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I watched them. I feel like I know, you know,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and I've talked to Seawan a bunch of years, but
- 17:50Speaker 1: I don't pretend to know him. But I just have
- 17:51Speaker 1: so much fun watching them. And then Rachel Lindsay and
- 17:54Speaker 1: Brian uh Abs Drsel Yeah some yes, whatever you said.
- 18:01Speaker 1: You know, there are successful copies, so there's a bunch
- 18:03Speaker 1: of them out there too. But you're right there, Yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 1: you know, there's always gonna be I think the naysayers
- 18:08Speaker 1: that think that you know, it can't work, and you know,
- 18:11Speaker 1: I think it really comes down to if you if
- 18:13Speaker 1: you look at uh two out of three of those
- 18:15Speaker 1: other successful couples, and of course you know, in different ways,
- 18:19Speaker 1: we still have you know, you still have Masnick even
- 18:22Speaker 1: though he didn't end up with his chosen person, he
- 18:23Speaker 1: end up with someone. But and Jade and Tanner James
- 18:28Speaker 1: Tanner from Bachelor and Paralyzed Paradise. Yeah, we've got a
- 18:32Speaker 1: bunch of couple. I mean, hello, Ashley I, who is
- 18:35Speaker 1: our al most famous podcaster. You know, she started this
- 18:38Speaker 1: whole thing. We've been so um. Yeah, there are plenty
- 18:42Speaker 1: of successful couples, and I think it's just um, you know,
- 18:46Speaker 1: it's like I tell my kids, if you focus on
- 18:48Speaker 1: the positive, that's what you see. So we're going to
- 18:50Speaker 1: focus on the positive relationships and and not unfortunately the
- 18:54Speaker 1: ones that have broken up, but we still are going
- 18:57Speaker 1: to talk about it a little bit, well, just because
- 19:00Speaker 1: it's in the news, right And I mean, for the
- 19:03Speaker 1: first time ever, I'm actually doing well in a marriage,
- 19:05Speaker 1: so you know, no care about me anymore. I used
- 19:08Speaker 1: to remember, I used to think that. I used to think, Man,
- 19:10Speaker 1: I wonder why, like everyone makes such a big deal
- 19:13Speaker 1: when they're having kids and stuff, because I mean, I
- 19:14Speaker 1: remember it used to be like a thing and I
- 19:15Speaker 1: was like, I'm just going to kind of roll with it.
- 19:17Speaker 1: But it was the truth is that people came to
- 19:20Speaker 1: know us through a show about relationships. So therefore those relationships,
- 19:24Speaker 1: you know, as they continue or don't, but you continue
- 19:27Speaker 1: in a a different relationship, people care about that aspect of it.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And that's kind of a nice thing, you know, Like
- 19:31Speaker 1: I I actually I like it all right. So we've
- 19:44Speaker 1: got our guest for today in the waiting room. Her
- 19:47Speaker 1: name is Sarah Bryce and she was on Charlie O'Connell's
- 19:51Speaker 1: season season seven Steven's Thank You. I was just gonna
- 19:55Speaker 1: ask thank you. He was season seven. He was kind
- 20:00Speaker 1: of like the class clown. Also like he was very
- 20:03Speaker 1: fun loving, um, very laid back. Also Also, what did
- 20:10Speaker 1: I say, the class clown like you? Also? Yes, because
- 20:20Speaker 1: we talked about the superlatives. Yes, yes, Um, so he is.
- 20:26Speaker 1: He is very fun loving. I feel like super laid back.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Um obviously has a famous brother and Jerry, which kind
- 20:35Speaker 1: of threw a fun little piece of information into their season. Um,
- 20:40Speaker 1: and we've known each other for a while. I don't
- 20:46Speaker 1: know if we met right after her season, but we
- 20:48Speaker 1: did go to There's a place where was Jade and
- 20:51Speaker 1: Tanner's wedding. Do you remember Tara that wasn't like Dana
- 20:54Speaker 1: Point or something like that. Yes, there's a resort. I can't.
- 20:58Speaker 1: We'll have to. We'll have to ask her because we
- 21:00Speaker 1: hung out with the kids. Even she was hanging out
- 21:03Speaker 1: on the at the pool with my babies. Um, we
- 21:07Speaker 1: got a brand in. I mean, she's here, she's all
- 21:11Speaker 1: the way from Dallas, Texas. Sarah, there she is. How
- 21:21Speaker 1: are you to talk to you in so long? I
- 21:25Speaker 1: love your office. I I remember seeing the office reveal
- 21:29Speaker 1: on your Instagram. This I love it. Yeah, So I
- 21:37Speaker 1: have spent some time talking about you. I spent some
- 21:39Speaker 1: time talking about you today with our I'm sure she's
- 21:42Speaker 1: already texted you knowing her are good? Are good? Mutual
- 21:45Speaker 1: friend Melanie Melanio. So Melanie's like I'm telling beforehand, I'm like,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I always thought Sarah was so cute. I had a
- 21:53Speaker 1: big crush on her when she was on you know,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and I'm like, and then I in my other life,
- 21:58Speaker 1: I meet this girl who I just love and his
- 22:00Speaker 1: Melanie Obrianti and Melanie and Sarah were Sororiti sisters in college.
- 22:04Speaker 1: You remain friends of this day. Both still live in
- 22:06Speaker 1: the Dallas area. Um, I think you guys see each
- 22:09Speaker 1: other a lot still, and I guess, and uh so
- 22:12Speaker 1: it was kind of funny because it's such a small
- 22:14Speaker 1: world thing. When I first I came down to Dallas
- 22:16Speaker 1: to hang out with Melanie for about a week and
- 22:18Speaker 1: some other people in her office, and uh, I mean
- 22:21Speaker 1: we talked about you literally like every day. I think
- 22:23Speaker 1: we were trying to get together with you and your husband.
- 22:25Speaker 1: You're trying to figure out where you guys were, and um,
- 22:28Speaker 1: but yeah, thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 22:30Speaker 1: And I know you trus are really close to So
- 22:31Speaker 1: that's great. Yeah, so fun. I'm still glad that you
- 22:35Speaker 1: thought of me, of course. Okay, so remind me where
- 22:39Speaker 1: was the wedding that we went to in California when
- 22:41Speaker 1: you were playing at the pool with Max and Blakesley.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I have the cutest picture of you with Blakesley. Do
- 22:47Speaker 1: you remember what wedding that? Jason? Mollies? Okay, yeah, okay, Um,
- 22:54Speaker 1: so yeah, going back to Jason and Mallies, was that
- 22:56Speaker 1: the first time we met or did we meet before that?
- 22:59Speaker 1: I think was the first time. No, I can't remember.
- 23:03Speaker 1: It might have been. I think we had met one
- 23:05Speaker 1: time before that. I can't remember. I feel like maybe
- 23:08Speaker 1: we were texting trying to figure out what we were
- 23:10Speaker 1: wearing to the wedding, because that's what girls do. Okay.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I was on the I was on the crap list
- 23:20Speaker 1: at that point. Stock. Yeah, they did welcome you back
- 23:27Speaker 1: in with open arms. Um. Okay, so you were you
- 23:32Speaker 1: and Charlie ended up together after the show. You were
- 23:35Speaker 1: his chosen one, and then I believe didn't you break
- 23:39Speaker 1: up and then get back together? Yeah? I mean I
- 23:42Speaker 1: think we broke up like five times over five so
- 23:48Speaker 1: like your annual break up and then yeah, I was like, okay, well,
- 23:53Speaker 1: and it would last like a month and then we
- 23:55Speaker 1: get back together. That's why finally I was like, I
- 23:57Speaker 1: gotta leave l A. If I don't leave l A,
- 23:59Speaker 1: We're to keep doing this till we're like nine, right,
- 24:05Speaker 1: and never get married. Okay, So how was it the
- 24:10Speaker 1: first time, maybe the first time that you guys broke
- 24:12Speaker 1: up in um, you know, a public arena because you
- 24:15Speaker 1: had been on the show and he also, you know,
- 24:18Speaker 1: has Jerry and kind of was in the public eye
- 24:22Speaker 1: anyway a bit. So how was that break up for you? Well?
- 24:28Speaker 1: I think you know, I had moved to l A
- 24:30Speaker 1: after the show, and that was the only reason I
- 24:34Speaker 1: had moved there, obviously, And so when you when you're
- 24:38Speaker 1: in that situation, I felt so vulnerable to him and
- 24:43Speaker 1: like I knew that the breakup needed to happen because
- 24:45Speaker 1: he was going to rehab and I but I also
- 24:50Speaker 1: at the same time felt like public pressure to stay
- 24:53Speaker 1: together and to like make it work. Um. And then
- 24:56Speaker 1: I also felt like, oh god, I just moved out here,
- 24:58Speaker 1: I sold my home in Texas. I what am I
- 25:01Speaker 1: going to do? I don't have anyone, I don't know anyone.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I was just totally at his mercy in terms of friends, yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 1: and everything. So it was it was weird. I mean,
- 25:12Speaker 1: it was not the easiest situation. Hence why we kept
- 25:14Speaker 1: getting back together, right right, That makes total sense that
- 25:19Speaker 1: you felt at his mercy. You know, those are perfect
- 25:23Speaker 1: words I feel like to describe it. It's it's hard.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I feel like being in the public eye, people have
- 25:28Speaker 1: asked me that over the years, do you feel pressure
- 25:31Speaker 1: to stay together? And even though I don't, um, I
- 25:36Speaker 1: don't necessarily, I do feel like if we ever broke up,
- 25:40Speaker 1: holy cow, people would be coming at us like why
- 25:43Speaker 1: did you do it? Well, I don't think about like Ashley,
- 25:46Speaker 1: what was it? Ashley? What was the Bachelorette? And the
- 25:50Speaker 1: guy with JP and Ashley? A JP and Ashley? Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I had only met them one time, but for some reason,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I felt like I knew them so well. You know,
- 25:59Speaker 1: it broke up. I took your heart and I like
- 26:01Speaker 1: started going to therapy just to work through it. But
- 26:06Speaker 1: it was one of those things where it was just like,
- 26:07Speaker 1: wait a minute, what, Like, you guys can't split up,
- 26:10Speaker 1: you know, you're on the Bachelor, Like what So I
- 26:12Speaker 1: remember thinking that, you know that if we didn't go
- 26:14Speaker 1: through the the share like I did right out of
- 26:17Speaker 1: the gates, then they shouldn't break up ever, you know,
- 26:19Speaker 1: And that's kind of it was right that, I mean,
- 26:23Speaker 1: I guess that's kind of true. Like I wonder one
- 26:26Speaker 1: of the producers was saying, um, actually with Sugarman, she said,
- 26:31Speaker 1: how long I would love to see kind of like
- 26:33Speaker 1: a pie chart or something of how long had when
- 26:37Speaker 1: couples break up? When do they break up? If they
- 26:40Speaker 1: break up within a year, is that the most common time?
- 26:45Speaker 1: When did you and Charlie break up first? Well, the
- 26:49Speaker 1: first time was probably right out a year. Yeah. And
- 26:53Speaker 1: then but again it was not because we didn't care
- 26:58Speaker 1: about each other love each other. It was because he
- 27:00Speaker 1: had a major drinking problem. And so it's kind of like, okay,
- 27:02Speaker 1: you can't die if you don't go to rehab. So
- 27:05Speaker 1: it was different. Um. True, But I think that I
- 27:09Speaker 1: think it kind of falls within the normal kind of
- 27:13Speaker 1: relationship numbers. To be honest, I think it's probably around
- 27:17Speaker 1: two years. Like I think eighteen months to two years
- 27:22Speaker 1: is probably when most people break up. It's when you
- 27:24Speaker 1: need to really know someone well. And I think also
- 27:27Speaker 1: this show, we were talking about it before you came
- 27:29Speaker 1: on is you know, you're together for such a short
- 27:32Speaker 1: period of time, and you're in this bubble where you
- 27:36Speaker 1: don't have to deal with anything else in your life,
- 27:38Speaker 1: your work, your family, your friends or anything. And and
- 27:43Speaker 1: so it's very you can't even drive anywhere, yes, especially
- 27:48Speaker 1: worry about going to the grocery store. Realm. You're in
- 27:52Speaker 1: the same realm that we were in, which is basically
- 27:53Speaker 1: like we boil it down, it's about six weeks. But really,
- 27:58Speaker 1: when you think about it, with all the free stuff
- 28:00Speaker 1: in the post, it's about five weeks that you're hanging
- 28:03Speaker 1: out with this person and twenty four of your other suitors.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So it's like you know, and it's you never you know.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Like you said, it takes about two years for a
- 28:11Speaker 1: normal couple to really get to know each other through
- 28:13Speaker 1: trials and tribulations. For a couple off the show, I mean,
- 28:16Speaker 1: it's such a pressure cooker and so fast that you
- 28:18Speaker 1: know you're accepting everybody at that kind of face value
- 28:21Speaker 1: until you go through it, and going through a rehab
- 28:24Speaker 1: situation like you guys did, had to be so just unbelievable.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I mean, I can image the pressure on that oh
- 28:31Speaker 1: so hard, and you know, I think about the couple's
- 28:33Speaker 1: now to do it, and I think, God, think about
- 28:35Speaker 1: the added pressure of social media exactly and the competitiveness
- 28:40Speaker 1: of that and what they go through. Like, I feel
- 28:43Speaker 1: like those relationships we're gonna start to see dwindle a
- 28:45Speaker 1: lot quicker because it's probably not as much substance there,
- 28:50Speaker 1: just with social media aspect. Yeah, you're right, you said competitiveness.
- 28:56Speaker 1: But it's like the comparisons as I you know, I
- 28:59Speaker 1: have a third sen year old daughter and she uh,
- 29:03Speaker 1: they both have social media accounts, but um, I try to,
- 29:07Speaker 1: you know, at least talk to him about a lot
- 29:09Speaker 1: of the things that are happening, and the comparison question
- 29:13Speaker 1: comes up a whole lot more. I mean I brought
- 29:15Speaker 1: up to Blakesley that when I was young, there were
- 29:18Speaker 1: still comparisons. I mean, you compared yourself to your best
- 29:21Speaker 1: friend and to your friend that friend who got invited
- 29:24Speaker 1: to the party and why didn't you? And the one
- 29:27Speaker 1: who's dating the boy that you like and so why
- 29:29Speaker 1: did he choose her? And like, the comparisons are like,
- 29:32Speaker 1: you know, have always been around, but now it's like
- 29:36Speaker 1: hyper focused on comparisons. So it's hard, it's really hard.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I can't imagine um having had tried to solidify a
- 29:46Speaker 1: relationship with social media around. You know, it would have
- 29:49Speaker 1: been extremely difficult. Not that we couldn't have done it,
- 29:53Speaker 1: because I believe in our relationship, but at the same time,
- 29:55Speaker 1: like that would have been really hard. Yeah, if you've
- 29:59Speaker 1: ever been a angle guy in l a um like me,
- 30:02Speaker 1: I have time in my life, I have exclusive you
- 30:06Speaker 1: know you and you say you date someone who's really
- 30:08Speaker 1: popular on Instagram, right, which everyone who does on this
- 30:11Speaker 1: show comes off now and they are. I mean, it
- 30:13Speaker 1: was a full time job watching a girl I was
- 30:16Speaker 1: dating basically you know, live her life, like we were
- 30:19Speaker 1: never at at a restaurant where she didn't never phone
- 30:21Speaker 1: in her hand or you know, like it wasn't killing
- 30:23Speaker 1: her food or you know, don't know how people do that.
- 30:29Speaker 1: So really now it probably takes like five years to
- 30:33Speaker 1: really get to know someone if you're dating them, probably Yeah,
- 30:36Speaker 1: like with their phone, like they're constantly sharing their life
- 30:40Speaker 1: with their phone. Yeah, it's always more important to put
- 30:42Speaker 1: it out there than it is to live the moment, right, right,
- 30:46Speaker 1: So sad drives me crazy. It drives me crazy too,
- 30:50Speaker 1: Like so Sarah, we had we're old, I guess now
- 30:54Speaker 1: the world. This is why this podcast is called the
- 30:57Speaker 1: o g Yes, we're the original gangsters, but our gangs
- 31:03Speaker 1: does but I like to call us old gals and
- 31:06Speaker 1: old guys, so yeah, we're the old people. This question
- 31:21Speaker 1: has come up to would you go on the show
- 31:24Speaker 1: knowing what you know now about how social media impacts
- 31:28Speaker 1: things and you know, change it from back then to now?
- 31:31Speaker 1: And I still would, just because my relationship has been successful,
- 31:36Speaker 1: but it would be really difficult, really difficult. I give
- 31:41Speaker 1: it to the people who who have had a relationship
- 31:45Speaker 1: from the show where social media was around and they
- 31:49Speaker 1: are still successful, Like maybe Rachel and Brian are probably
- 31:53Speaker 1: one of those, and then um Jade and Tanner. I
- 31:56Speaker 1: bet social media has been around with them. But also
- 31:59Speaker 1: I think that it is so in my relationship. I
- 32:04Speaker 1: am more of the Instagram poster or you know, social
- 32:09Speaker 1: media um active on social media. Okay, I'm way more
- 32:13Speaker 1: active than Ryan is, but even that I'm not that active.
- 32:16Speaker 1: So I think you need to have a relationship where
- 32:18Speaker 1: you either understand each of your roles, so one of
- 32:23Speaker 1: you is really active, one of you isn't, or both
- 32:25Speaker 1: of you were active. If you understand, if you come
- 32:28Speaker 1: into a relationship understanding each other and respecting each other
- 32:32Speaker 1: for what you want to do, then great. But if
- 32:35Speaker 1: one of you is, like Jade and Tanner are pretty active,
- 32:39Speaker 1: but they both are, and they do it in a
- 32:40Speaker 1: very kind of humorous way, I feel like, so I
- 32:44Speaker 1: think that that's probably easier than if one of the
- 32:46Speaker 1: people in the relationship was posting about everything and the
- 32:51Speaker 1: other person was like, why can't you just sell things private? Yeah,
- 32:56Speaker 1: if you're not on board with it, it's bad news.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Experience good news. Yeah, And I think that's where communication
- 33:03Speaker 1: comes in. That's where you know, from from the get go,
- 33:06Speaker 1: from when you're on the show, you need to just
- 33:08Speaker 1: be super open and honest with each other about what
- 33:11Speaker 1: you want to do. And then I think that the
- 33:14Speaker 1: problems come when one person changes their mind, you know,
- 33:20Speaker 1: and and that's bound to happen. People are allowed to
- 33:22Speaker 1: change their minds, but in a relationship, if they change
- 33:25Speaker 1: their mind and they want to be somebody else, that's
- 33:27Speaker 1: kind of difficult. And don't forget like we were also
- 33:29Speaker 1: from a different time too, when we were you know,
- 33:31Speaker 1: the model syllabic job description. Even though you know, mortgage
- 33:38Speaker 1: broke up financial as you know, it was like, you know,
- 33:41Speaker 1: not when they go on there and they're like, you know, uh,
- 33:43Speaker 1: wearing a dolphin costume is their job, you know or whatever.
- 33:46Speaker 1: So it's like things have changed so much. The show
- 33:48Speaker 1: has a little more of a sense of humor about
- 33:49Speaker 1: itself today, which is nice. But you know, as far
- 33:52Speaker 1: as it goes from that, So you guys go through it,
- 33:55Speaker 1: you end up breaking up, then you end up you
- 33:57Speaker 1: go back to Dallas and is that where you met
- 33:59Speaker 1: your husband and and started you know, Sarah Bryce two
- 34:02Speaker 1: point oh or or how is it? How did it go? Yeah?
- 34:05Speaker 1: So I, um, I we had that fifth breakup and
- 34:09Speaker 1: I was like, okay, I've got to leave town if
- 34:11Speaker 1: if this is gonna work, And so I moved to Dallas.
- 34:13Speaker 1: He did come and find me a Dallas one time,
- 34:16Speaker 1: and he did for that trip other than like a
- 34:19Speaker 1: quick twenty four hour fling, which was fun. And then
- 34:23Speaker 1: us and but now my former husband, I tested, did
- 34:29Speaker 1: you know that I just got a divorce. I don't
- 34:31Speaker 1: know if you knew. So so okay, so I've been
- 34:34Speaker 1: obviously we follow each other and on on social and
- 34:38Speaker 1: I literally one day I was like, why is she
- 34:42Speaker 1: not posting anything about him? I like I kind of
- 34:46Speaker 1: went back and I'm like, are they broken up? But
- 34:48Speaker 1: I didn't want to call you or write you and
- 34:50Speaker 1: be like because you're got a divorce, Like how do
- 34:53Speaker 1: you say that? Do you have people who have reached
- 34:55Speaker 1: out to you and said right? Like I figured that
- 34:59Speaker 1: it would come up and conversation. Yeah, I know I
- 35:02Speaker 1: would be the same way. But still I was like, did,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I mean you look really happy? So I figured that
- 35:10Speaker 1: maybe okay, good, Yeah, that's all that matters. That's what
- 35:13Speaker 1: matters is that you're happy and the boys are happy.
- 35:16Speaker 1: We've got the best co parenting situation, Like we really
- 35:19Speaker 1: got We're really unusual, like but we're so happy. Um,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and we're apart and it's fantastic. But yeah, So I
- 35:27Speaker 1: moved back to Dallas, met him like really fast. You know,
- 35:31Speaker 1: I got pregnant, Yeah, did the whole thing, kept getting pregnant,
- 35:34Speaker 1: three kids, and here we are. I have two boys.
- 35:40Speaker 1: So I'm excited that you're a boy mom eight and seven?
- 35:47Speaker 1: You say that, Um yeah, yeah, basically like and she
- 35:56Speaker 1: got a new puppy not too long ago, Like you know,
- 35:59Speaker 1: we're already in a Yeah, let's just sit here for
- 36:01Speaker 1: a little bit. Why not just stir it up. I
- 36:08Speaker 1: love it. Um, okay, so are you dating? Maybe do
- 36:15Speaker 1: we need to put it out there that you're dating? Therapist.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I'm just starting to date. But I'm really enjoyed. Just
- 36:26Speaker 1: I just turned forty two. I feel like I'm in
- 36:28Speaker 1: my prime. I have I have everything, lying do were
- 36:35Speaker 1: and everything is good and I'm just this is the
- 36:38Speaker 1: this is fun. So yeah, yeah, good. I'm so happy
- 36:43Speaker 1: to hear that. Okay. So wait, so when you say
- 36:46Speaker 1: you're dating, does that mean you're getting set up on
- 36:48Speaker 1: blind dates? So I'm going on the apps, like, what
- 36:51Speaker 1: does that look like? Right now? No? Apps? I did,
- 36:57Speaker 1: so I didn't meet someone. Um, and I'm okay, I'm
- 37:01Speaker 1: not really like I haven't told a lot of people
- 37:03Speaker 1: about it yet. But we met organically, like on an
- 37:06Speaker 1: airplane situation. Oh, that's kind of fine. Does he live
- 37:13Speaker 1: in Dallas? Interesting? Yeah, it's kind of nice. Though, when
- 37:18Speaker 1: you're newly diced, I will say this, I don't know
- 37:20Speaker 1: how new it is, but as a divorce formally divorced man,
- 37:24Speaker 1: I actually enjoyed when I could fly and meet somebody
- 37:27Speaker 1: for the weekend. That was kind of fine. It's actually
- 37:30Speaker 1: really amazing because he has kids, I have kids, So
- 37:33Speaker 1: when we're at our homes, we're just like in with
- 37:36Speaker 1: our families and then we get to yeah, it's just
- 37:40Speaker 1: kind of like sneak off into our thing and have
- 37:43Speaker 1: our time and it's not it's just it's kind of
- 37:45Speaker 1: like this fantasy world that we just get to live
- 37:48Speaker 1: in for a little bit and then come back home
- 37:50Speaker 1: to reality and not like to worry of the co parenting.
- 37:55Speaker 1: You know, I don't know, I'm really enjoying it. It's
- 37:57Speaker 1: just fun and yeah, that's awesome. I'm so happy for you. Yes,
- 38:08Speaker 1: two five. I don't know, it's a really good Sarah.
- 38:16Speaker 1: It's like the new the new me. It's super It's
- 38:19Speaker 1: just I love it. Yeah, for you. You got to
- 38:25Speaker 1: be happy. If you're not happy, you can't help anybody
- 38:27Speaker 1: else be happy. Right now, life like we have what
- 38:30Speaker 1: life there's and I want to live with just no regrets.
- 38:33Speaker 1: And I don't know, I just but the one thing
- 38:37Speaker 1: I said I would never do is the app dating.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I think that is just I could not do it.
- 38:45Speaker 1: I can't imagine doing it. I literally have never even
- 38:49Speaker 1: seen one of the apps. Like I know, people talk
- 38:52Speaker 1: about how they love like going through their friends phones
- 38:55Speaker 1: and swiping for them. I've never even seen an app
- 38:58Speaker 1: like that. I don't even know what it looks like.
- 39:01Speaker 1: You guys, I have something so relevant to share with
- 39:03Speaker 1: the Last night, a friend of mine, a girl from Seattle,
- 39:06Speaker 1: sends me a picture and she goes, guess who I
- 39:08Speaker 1: just found on Bumble And she sent it to me
- 39:10Speaker 1: and to my wife Jessica, and this picture of me
- 39:14Speaker 1: and I go, but but it's with another guy, and
- 39:18Speaker 1: the guy's got his arm around me, and it says, um,
- 39:21Speaker 1: I love I love spending time with family and friends.
- 39:24Speaker 1: And she sends us to me, and I'm like, I
- 39:26Speaker 1: don't know who helps us. It was so funny, like
- 39:32Speaker 1: I've always I always said to be like I though
- 39:34Speaker 1: always thought it would be cool to be on one
- 39:35Speaker 1: of those apps, you know, And now I'm on it.
- 39:38Speaker 1: I did it all right, good stuff. But yeah, these
- 39:41Speaker 1: dudes like my family and friends, I don't know which
- 39:44Speaker 1: one I am. Do you remember meeting in I've never
- 39:48Speaker 1: met this dude in my life. I mean, well, I
- 39:49Speaker 1: clearly have. I took a picture with him. I was
- 39:51Speaker 1: obviously on a golf course because I'm dressed like I'm
- 39:54Speaker 1: golfing and I'm smiling he's smiling, and that's how that
- 40:00Speaker 1: is so funny but strange. Guy, Like, what if the
- 40:04Speaker 1: poor girls that go on the date with this guy
- 40:06Speaker 1: and he's like, oh my good yeah yeah, I'm like, okay,
- 40:14Speaker 1: avoid that guy, swipe right or whatever you do when
- 40:17Speaker 1: you don't, whatever you do, Oh my goodness, pretty funny.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I mean, oh my gosh, um okay, I have to
- 40:27Speaker 1: ask you guys. So we were talking about the breakups
- 40:29Speaker 1: in the beginning of the show and Michelle and Nate.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I know you both probably don't follow them on social
- 40:36Speaker 1: or the show, but what happened, um, I feel like
- 40:39Speaker 1: like a month ago is Michelle was caught without her
- 40:43Speaker 1: engagement ring on and someone called her out on social
- 40:47Speaker 1: or I don't know where it was, but someone called
- 40:49Speaker 1: her out and said she's not wearing her engagement ring.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Does that mean there's trouble in paradise, you know? And
- 40:55Speaker 1: she went on her Instagram and said, for the person
- 40:59Speaker 1: who's calling us out, I just for like a momentary
- 41:03Speaker 1: blink of and I let my friend borrow my like
- 41:06Speaker 1: try on my engagement ring and that's why I wasn't
- 41:08Speaker 1: wearing it. And then it comes out and maybe it
- 41:11Speaker 1: was a couple of weeks before this, but it comes
- 41:13Speaker 1: out fairly quickly after she had been called out that
- 41:17Speaker 1: they were breaking up, and I feel like it's it
- 41:22Speaker 1: makes it. This is validation for why people don't believe
- 41:26Speaker 1: the people from Bachelor Nation when they say they're together,
- 41:29Speaker 1: they say they're broken up or whatever. Like she went
- 41:32Speaker 1: on there kind of like saying, shame on all of
- 41:35Speaker 1: you for questioning our relationship. We're fine, and then they
- 41:38Speaker 1: break up. So clearly there, I mean, it seems like
- 41:41Speaker 1: there had been trouble in Paradise and they were trying
- 41:45Speaker 1: to kind of cover it up and and be the
- 41:48Speaker 1: the people who narrated their own story. And so I
- 41:50Speaker 1: get that, like keeping control of your own story. But
- 41:53Speaker 1: at the same time, like I don't know, I just
- 41:56Speaker 1: don't call people out, just let it go out into
- 41:59Speaker 1: you know, have people forget about it. I started bringing
- 42:03Speaker 1: it up, right, It's more it's more than that, right,
- 42:05Speaker 1: I mean the maturity thing, to be honest, Like I
- 42:08Speaker 1: think that that is something you do, but like twenties,
- 42:11Speaker 1: early thirties, I just I mean that's like that. Yeah,
- 42:18Speaker 1: So I think that's a maturity thing. I think it's
- 42:20Speaker 1: something that probably anyone that age, would you know, maybe
- 42:25Speaker 1: do that's just my personal what's the you know, there's
- 42:29Speaker 1: a saying like thou doth protest too much? And it's
- 42:31Speaker 1: I always think about that when things like this come up.
- 42:34Speaker 1: You're like, whoa by the defensiveness, you know, if atually,
- 42:38Speaker 1: if it's all good and then just be like, hey
- 42:39Speaker 1: it's all good, I just up, Yeah, but exactly, don't
- 42:46Speaker 1: even address it. It could be on the show too,
- 42:49Speaker 1: you know, Like I mean, I remember when Mistella and
- 42:51Speaker 1: I were splitting up and we've been together five months
- 42:54Speaker 1: from the time we finished taping, which you know everyone
- 42:57Speaker 1: always thinks it's wait it aired the finale and uh,
- 43:00Speaker 1: you know, Thanksgiving weekend. They broke up before Christmas. They
- 43:03Speaker 1: were together less than a month. It's like, no, dude,
- 43:06Speaker 1: I remember at the time they were like yeah, guys,
- 43:10Speaker 1: that come on. You know they were like, you know,
- 43:13Speaker 1: I remember the producers at the time, we're sort of like,
- 43:15Speaker 1: you know, just give it some time, you guys, can
- 43:16Speaker 1: you know, try to work through it, and and you know,
- 43:18Speaker 1: we don't really any announcements right now and things like that,
- 43:21Speaker 1: so I remember, you know, there was sort of like this,
- 43:24Speaker 1: you know, trying to figure out do we stay in it?
- 43:28Speaker 1: Is it disingenuous to you know, let it fly? Nowadays, yeah,
- 43:33Speaker 1: I would be like forget it. But back then, I
- 43:35Speaker 1: remember I was just like, Okay, well, you know, I'll
- 43:37Speaker 1: do what the show that's tlling me to do, you know,
- 43:39Speaker 1: and you know, and I mean I think that might
- 43:43Speaker 1: be when they're more current, you know, like Michelle and
- 43:46Speaker 1: uh and Nate are a little more current, you know,
- 43:48Speaker 1: maybe than you know, if they've already been together over
- 43:51Speaker 1: a year. I don't know, I don't know how that works,
- 43:53Speaker 1: but I mean, I know back then in the in
- 43:55Speaker 1: the stone ages of the show, there was a little
- 43:59Speaker 1: encouragement to try and you know, let's let's not be
- 44:02Speaker 1: so quick to shoot this thing down. Let's give it
- 44:04Speaker 1: a chance. We'll get you guys back together, you know,
- 44:07Speaker 1: you know what, you're right. I wonder how involved the
- 44:10Speaker 1: producers are still in their relationships today, Like how long
- 44:14Speaker 1: they stay involved because obviously they're under contract for I
- 44:19Speaker 1: think two years still, um, but I wonder how involved
- 44:25Speaker 1: they are and if they're still talking to them and
- 44:26Speaker 1: if they still give them input on their relationship or
- 44:29Speaker 1: they just let them be. You know, who knows, but
- 44:32Speaker 1: it would be embarrassing though, to come out super strong
- 44:34Speaker 1: like whatever people, you know, you guys are so stupid
- 44:37Speaker 1: to think this, and then like less than a week later,
- 44:39Speaker 1: be like, okay, we decided to go separate ways, please respect.
- 44:42Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, a week ago you were coming at
- 44:47Speaker 1: me hard that you know, you guys are fine and
- 44:49Speaker 1: don't respect your privacy, So yeah, I get it. You know.
- 44:52Speaker 1: It is kind of a weird, twisted world in the
- 44:54Speaker 1: I think they're again social media man. Back in the days,
- 44:58Speaker 1: we have to worry about that now. It's like was
- 45:00Speaker 1: the only thing we had to worry about was my Space,
- 45:02Speaker 1: which I was fine, Yeah, yeah exactly, or the chat
- 45:09Speaker 1: room you know you like uh, which my mom my
- 45:13Speaker 1: mom was. It was crazy. My mom actually had a
- 45:18Speaker 1: group of people. My mom had a group of people
- 45:23Speaker 1: I wish I could remember their name from Facebook. And
- 45:27Speaker 1: there was like a whole group of them. My mom
- 45:29Speaker 1: was kind of running the show, and they made us
- 45:32Speaker 1: wedding presents. They would show up at different like if
- 45:35Speaker 1: we were doing signings or taking pictures somewhere. What the
- 45:39Speaker 1: Trista Fancizam group I think is what it was called.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Like my mom was wheah is hilarious. Still have to
- 45:52Speaker 1: this day. They made us like, you know, one of
- 45:53Speaker 1: those recipe boxes that you keep all your recipes in.
- 45:56Speaker 1: They made us like as new as newlyweds. Who doesn't
- 46:00Speaker 1: it a recipe box with lots of ideas. We did,
- 46:04Speaker 1: and we still do. I've so many rescue boxes. Okay, well, Sarah,
- 46:15Speaker 1: thank you so much for being here. I love seeing
- 46:18Speaker 1: your beautiful face and I'm so happy you're happy. Yeah, absolutely,
- 46:23Speaker 1: thank you. What a pleasure. Melanie. Melanie is text to
- 46:26Speaker 1: me though, and she wanted to say. She said, I'm sorry,
- 46:28Speaker 1: I can't be listening because I'm actually working, which I
- 46:31Speaker 1: think I should technically, and she's like, but make sure
- 46:36Speaker 1: I love her, And I said, all right, sounds good, guys,
- 46:39Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. All right, Trista, You're right, she's
- 46:55Speaker 1: even more lovely in person, because I thought she was
- 46:59Speaker 1: lovely before I ever met her, but now she's awesome.
- 47:02Speaker 1: So we met, um we touch base. So she was
- 47:06Speaker 1: working for a company called Kota and they do lasers,
- 47:09Speaker 1: like laser hair removal and like skincare lasers. And she
- 47:14Speaker 1: was like, would you ever want to, you know, work
- 47:17Speaker 1: with a doctor locally. I can set you up and um,
- 47:22Speaker 1: you know, do kind of like a trade situation. And
- 47:25Speaker 1: so she hooked me up royally at UM, this amazing
- 47:30Speaker 1: asceticition in Denver called Vital and I still to this
- 47:34Speaker 1: day go there because I love what they do, UM,
- 47:37Speaker 1: just in terms of lasers and stuff. So but then yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 1: she wrote me and she's like, Okay, so now I'm
- 47:44Speaker 1: working with UM. What was what was the name of it?
- 47:48Speaker 1: You said it? It was like it was a C
- 47:50Speaker 1: word or something like that. Yeah, something like that. So
- 47:54Speaker 1: I believe it's like women's sexual clio Vana. That's it, UM,
- 48:01Speaker 1: women's sexual health. I believe it might have been lasers
- 48:05Speaker 1: as well, or maybe yeah, I think there's lasers sound
- 48:11Speaker 1: science for better sex. Okay, there you go, so for
- 48:14Speaker 1: better sex. So basically sexual health for women. And then
- 48:18Speaker 1: you're saying that you believe that she's now working with
- 48:22Speaker 1: sexual health health for men. You know what, I am
- 48:27Speaker 1: all for anyone out there trying to help relationships. And
- 48:33Speaker 1: let's be honest, sex is a huge part of any relationship.
- 48:36Speaker 1: If you're married, I would think, uh, and so if
- 48:39Speaker 1: she's trying to help it, if you're having it and
- 48:42Speaker 1: it's good, it's like when you're not having it, it's
- 48:45Speaker 1: a I could agree with that. It is. I think
- 48:53Speaker 1: it's incredibly important. So I love what she's doing. I
- 48:56Speaker 1: love that even though there's this big you know, um,
- 49:00Speaker 1: people don't like to talk about it in this country. Um,
- 49:04Speaker 1: and I think why not talk about it, especially if
- 49:07Speaker 1: it's it's just like communication, forgiveness, like all the things, trust, honesty,
- 49:11Speaker 1: like all the things that you're supposed to have in
- 49:13Speaker 1: a good relationship. I think, Um, you know, being able
- 49:16Speaker 1: to help people with their sexual relationships is awesome. So
- 49:20Speaker 1: I think I wish her all the best. And I'm
- 49:22Speaker 1: excited for it too. I mean, she seems really happy,
- 49:24Speaker 1: and it's like, you know, she does said you get
- 49:26Speaker 1: one life and so you got to make the most
- 49:28Speaker 1: of it, and like sometimes people aren't meant to be
- 49:30Speaker 1: together forever, you know, and that's I mean, I would
- 49:34Speaker 1: never slag someone for that. I went through it and
- 49:36Speaker 1: and found my happiness. You know, it took me a while,
- 49:38Speaker 1: but I found it. And I'm pretty thankful for that too,
- 49:41Speaker 1: And so I get it. You know, everybody's got a
- 49:43Speaker 1: different path, so that's right, and we all just have
- 49:46Speaker 1: to respect each other and each other's past because you
- 49:49Speaker 1: never know what people are going through unless you're in
- 49:51Speaker 1: their shoes, preach its sister. Oh righty. Then well so
- 49:58Speaker 1: next week I believe we've got some questions from Instagram
- 50:03Speaker 1: from the people that I think we'll get into. And
- 50:07Speaker 1: I don't know who will have as a guest, but
- 50:09Speaker 1: I um oh, I was going to say Ryan, but no,
- 50:12Speaker 1: he'll be our guests later. That won't be until Yeah,
- 50:15Speaker 1: we're going to have with our spouses on Canyon has
- 50:18Speaker 1: agreed that she would do it. She said she just
- 50:21Speaker 1: wants to do some donkey kicks and some with some
- 50:23Speaker 1: squat thrust donkey kicks. Yeah, she wants to be she
- 50:26Speaker 1: wants me feel good. So I'm like, all right, So
- 50:28Speaker 1: it's got to be once our once our nanny starts,
- 50:31Speaker 1: which will be coming up, so that'll be huge. When
- 50:35Speaker 1: does that happen? August eighteen? You're counting down the days
- 50:39Speaker 1: do you have? Like in high school when I was
- 50:41Speaker 1: going on spring break because it's like the only time
- 50:43Speaker 1: I got to travel when I was young, I literally
- 50:46Speaker 1: made a calendar and it would have a countdown calendar
- 50:51Speaker 1: and every day I would ex off the days. So
- 50:53Speaker 1: are you exiting off the days? We haven't been, but
- 50:56Speaker 1: we should because my wife is I mean canyon. She
- 51:00Speaker 1: works her ass off and we got two boys under
- 51:01Speaker 1: the age of four. You know, it's like I can't
- 51:04Speaker 1: really put one down front nap without the other one
- 51:05Speaker 1: going bananas, and it's just sort of you know, and
- 51:08Speaker 1: so you know, she's got her hands full. And we
- 51:10Speaker 1: have some help, you know, with with with babysitters here
- 51:13Speaker 1: and there, and thankfully we have a really good one
- 51:14Speaker 1: for the summer. But before we got Hurt on board,
- 51:17Speaker 1: it was tough because you had to deal with cancelations.
- 51:19Speaker 1: We make plans and then one of us would have
- 51:21Speaker 1: to bail, and you know, so it's it's gonna be
- 51:25Speaker 1: really nice to have someone you know, it's gonna live
- 51:27Speaker 1: in She's gonna live here. That's awesome, amazing from Sweed
- 51:34Speaker 1: And but I think that's actually Switzerland, so I'm not
- 51:37Speaker 1: entirely sure. Still working out that part. And nicknames are
- 51:40Speaker 1: you know, an integral part of the game, so we
- 51:42Speaker 1: gotta figure that. Yeah, all right, well, thanks again Mr
- 51:50Speaker 1: Bob Guinea, and thank you everybody for listening. Um, we
- 51:54Speaker 1: love you here at a fo G. We sure do
- 51:57Speaker 1: have a great week. Everybody. Maybye. D
