- 0:25When life shapes us. When love anchors us, when lost
- 0:29changes us, we are not left behind.
- 0:33We are carried forward, held by faith, rooted in purpose,
- 0:39finding our way. This is carried forward a space
- 0:46for stories of resilience, purpose and forward resolve.
- 1:01Hi, welcome to carried for it. Today I'm having a special
- 1:05conversation with my nephew Kane, who just started his first
- 1:11year at the University of Louisiana and Monroe and just
- 1:17wanted to have a conversation with him about starting school
- 1:21and what that looks like. And then talk to him in regards
- 1:26to like what he's carrying forward, carrying forward with
- 1:31his faith, with his beliefs from his family beyond his faith.
- 1:38And then like what it's been like for him in these first few
- 1:43weeks. And we're just talking to him
- 1:46about his identity, his choices, his relationships, and what it
- 1:50looks like to follow God while still figuring out who he is and
- 1:55what he wants to do and what kind of man he wants to be.
- 1:58So today we're going to bring on Kane.
- 2:03Hi, Kane. Thank you for coming on and
- 2:06helping your aunt out and have a good discussion I think is
- 2:10appropriate for the time of year with the students starting back
- 2:14up. And I know that you have a
- 2:18strong faith and you've been public about it.
- 2:22So I just thought it would be great to talk to you about like
- 2:29just the changes as becoming like independent on your own in
- 2:33college and how that either your expectations for change or how
- 2:39it looks in actuality so. I am.
- 2:43Just a little bit about yourself first, OK?
- 2:46Decided to start the new journey because I went to work this
- 2:51summer and that was kind of challenging because I was gone
- 2:54for a long time and it really kind of put me in a difficult
- 2:56situation like do I want to work or don't want to go to school?
- 2:59And I was away from mom and dad for a long time and my family
- 3:02for a while this summer. So it's kind of a difficult
- 3:05decision as to what I wanted to do, but talk.
- 3:08To us about that. So Kane had the opportunity to
- 3:12go and West to West, TX and work for six weeks, right?
- 3:20And he was. Completely by himself.
- 3:23It was, it was a change for sure because I was fresh out of
- 3:27school and I hadn't really been away from family for that long.
- 3:30But I feel like it definitely helped me like step forward and
- 3:35shaping myself because I'm relatively family oriented and
- 3:41we all were always together because I lived with them for
- 3:44the longest time. And so stepping out like that
- 3:45was different. But I think it was good because
- 3:49it gave me a different perspective on life kind of and
- 3:53what it's going to be like in college.
- 3:56So that made the transition to school a little easier.
- 4:00So working out there with the Target hospitality, they were
- 4:04awesome and it was a great experience and it was a bunch of
- 4:07networking but I felt like I wanted to further my education
- 4:13as far as this cause I've been planning on doing it for a long
- 4:16time. So I figured I'd do this and
- 4:21with working off it helped me acclimate a little better so I
- 4:27enjoyed it. And how so?
- 4:29How do you feel that it helped you acclimate?
- 4:32Well, I was been alone like that for so long.
- 4:37And having to kind of figure out like being by myself, it put me
- 4:43in a spot to where me being 2 1/2 hours from home rather than
- 4:50being 12 hours from home is a little a little better on the
- 4:54mind. Because a lot of people I'm
- 4:56with, they've never had the opportunity to leave.
- 4:59And it's taking them a little bit longer time to get situated
- 5:03and kind of figure out like how it's going to be having to live
- 5:07by yourself and do school and everything.
- 5:10But with me being gone and having to work, as well as being
- 5:13so far from my parents and everything, it put me in more of
- 5:17a spot of like appreciation that I'm only 2 1/2 hours away and I
- 5:21can go home whenever I want rather than being so far and
- 5:24being 12 hour drive away. Yeah, I can see where that
- 5:28changed your mental capacity. Like when we've experienced
- 5:33something that is harder and then we come to something that
- 5:39is not necessarily easier but has different perimeters that
- 5:44aren't as stressful. I can see where it's helped.
- 5:48You probably adjust a little better.
- 5:49You are. I was just a Whip Kane at his
- 5:53university and he was telling me a little bit about this, like
- 5:57how he feels that it his opportunity to go and work did
- 6:04prepare him a little bit, maybe more than his friends to deal
- 6:11with being away from home. And now.
- 6:15So do you you feel like it's like, relatively easy or.
- 6:20Yeah. It makes it makes the like
- 6:24college experience a little easier for me because I'm like,
- 6:28if I need to, like if I had to call mom or call dad or go home,
- 6:33it's just a quick trip down the road.
- 6:36And so it's kind of it helps me focus a little bit more on
- 6:39school rather than like, oh, I need to be here because I know
- 6:41if I need to go there or they need to get to me, it can
- 6:44happen. So it just kind of it's a little
- 6:49like it settles me. It settled me down a little bit
- 6:52because it's it's a nice like spot to because I know they're
- 6:56there and I'm here and it's not far.
- 6:59Really. Yeah, a little bit more secure
- 7:00and safety, so. And when you were in, it was
- 7:04Pecos, right? Yes.
- 7:09Did you did It was only for six weeks.
- 7:12It was a relatively short amount of time.
- 7:15But like, what perspective did you have?
- 7:18Did you think you would feel this way when you got to the
- 7:20university? Like did you already like, oh,
- 7:23wow, I'm here. This is a long way for mom and
- 7:26dad when I get back. Did you did you know you were
- 7:29going to have this kind of change in perspective?
- 7:32Well, at first when I went, I had no idea what to expect and I
- 7:37handled it a little better than I thought I would.
- 7:39So the having the opportunity to like leave and then come back,
- 7:46it kind of it was a little upsetting because I was gone for
- 7:52so long. I came home and then I left like
- 7:54the next week for school. So I do like, I miss mom and dad
- 8:00in the aspect of like living with them and seeing them every
- 8:03day and stuff like that. But I know like, this is a part
- 8:09of it, you know? And so leaving and working for
- 8:12so long and then having to come here, it was more like everybody
- 8:18either leaves and goes to college or they leave and go to
- 8:20school. So it's just something that you
- 8:22do. So I feel like I'm fortunate to
- 8:24be relatively close here as to where I was.
- 8:28And so that kind of it helped me make a decision because I would
- 8:32have stayed and worked, but it was so far and I just like I
- 8:36have a new niece, I have a new nephew, I have another niece and
- 8:40then I have mom, dad, sister, brother, brother-in-law,
- 8:44sister-in-law. And they were all super close
- 8:47back home. So me being gone and all them
- 8:48being there was probably the hardest part.
- 8:52Yeah. And you had never experienced
- 8:53that before. Yeah, 'cause I mean, I know
- 8:56personal personally, I know. So that I think that was a
- 9:01really good opportunity for you to go and do and, and realize
- 9:07one way or the other, like how much you do appreciate your
- 9:10close knit family. Or you might have seen like,
- 9:14Hey, I do appreciate my close knit family, but I don't need to
- 9:18be. So it's like right there with
- 9:20them because you can like me. I love all of you very much.
- 9:25You're you're my hearts, but I don't always have to be right
- 9:28next door to you. And that doesn't mean that I
- 9:31love you any less. But but it's good for you to see
- 9:35like right now that you you wanted to be closer.
- 9:39So that's good. What a great experience
- 9:41opportunity that not many people get.
- 9:44So talking more a little bit about your current experience at
- 9:49the university, I know you've only been there for like what, 3
- 9:51weeks? Yes, 3 weeks and some change
- 9:55probably OK. So has anything surprised you so
- 10:00far about college, about Monroe, about living more independently?
- 10:07We did. I know we talked about like you
- 10:10were your perspective has changed, but has anything
- 10:13surprised you? The as the amount of talent time
- 10:20I have here is way different than anything I've ever been
- 10:24used to because during high school it's it's school,
- 10:27baseball, basketball, choir or whatever 4H some clubs doing
- 10:33something or something you participate in doing something.
- 10:35Then summer rolls around and I was lifeguarding forever and
- 10:39then I went to work and that was 12 hours a day.
- 10:42And then I took a little break and then now it's here and I
- 10:45have class most days of the week.
- 10:47I have class for two classes a day and it's like 4 hours of
- 10:52doing stuff total a day and I just have so much free time on
- 10:56my hands, which is not something I'm used to.
- 10:58So that's probably the biggest acclamation I would say is just
- 11:03finding what to do with myself in the time that I don't have to
- 11:07do anything. OK.
- 11:08So that was going to be my question.
- 11:11What are you doing with that? Because you're someone that
- 11:13likes to be busy. I know you.
- 11:16I so I have I played a lot of golf so far go to the gym once a
- 11:23day, start playing pickleball, a lot of pickleball and then up
- 11:30here we found a church. So I have some buddies I met
- 11:34here and I was kind of asking around and they directed us to a
- 11:40church like right down the road that they love.
- 11:42And so it's pretty similar to the one back home.
- 11:46And that's what I like so much about it is it kind of makes me
- 11:50feel like I'm back there because the church service is very
- 11:54similar. OK, so on Sundays and soon to be
- 11:59Wednesday nights, we're going to participate in that.
- 12:02And so that's another thing that's going to take up our
- 12:04time. But it's been, it's been fun,
- 12:07but spending money, it's hard not to do that.
- 12:11When you have time, yeah. When you have time, yeah.
- 12:14Isn't that like a, I don't know what the word is, but like when
- 12:18you're working and making more money, you don't have time to
- 12:21spend it, but then when you're not working and you don't have
- 12:24the money, you have more time to spend.
- 12:26Yeah. That's conundrum.
- 12:30Yeah. All right.
- 12:32So you've found a church that you like.
- 12:34Are there a lot of young people that go to it or?
- 12:37Yes, with it being like a college town church and it's in
- 12:40Monroe, which is a relatively big place.
- 12:43There's a lot of there's people of all ages, but there's a lot
- 12:46of college students. There's a lot of like older high
- 12:49school or high school kids you'll see walking around.
- 12:53And it's a large church. So there's people of all walks
- 12:59there. But you can definitely find like
- 13:03a, a group. They have like lift nights.
- 13:06I think they call them on Wednesday and that's college
- 13:09students and stuff. Just basically like a Wednesday
- 13:12night service and I think they sing and eat.
- 13:15So it's pretty, it's pretty similar to like a young adult
- 13:20group. OK, OK.
- 13:22So it's to get get the college students to come in and be
- 13:26together in community. So with that, that's a great
- 13:29segue. Talk to me a little bit about
- 13:32what your faith and what your what role faith played in your
- 13:39everyday life before college. Well, it was more like with
- 13:47youth kind of ending because I got, I graduate high school and
- 13:51rolled out of it. That was kind of a weird point
- 13:53for me to acclimate like where to go because I did go to work
- 13:57for so long and I work it, I work Sundays.
- 14:01So I'd either watch the church service or read my Bible.
- 14:04And that was kind of, it's kind of weird because I've always
- 14:07been like church on Sunday, church on Wednesday, church on
- 14:09Sunday, church on Wednesday, just kind of in that I didn't
- 14:13want to, I don't want to be in that point where it's just kind
- 14:15of like, you're going to go. And right after high school,
- 14:19like kind of rolled out of use and I went to work and it was
- 14:22like, it got slow because I'm like, I can't really go here.
- 14:26And so that was kind of a hard point in my faith.
- 14:28Like for me, especially because it was like, like, I wasn't
- 14:33necessarily struggling in my faith.
- 14:35It was just, I was having a hard time like fitting in that time
- 14:39to talk to God or read my Bible or stuff like that.
- 14:42And then some days, you know, I mean, we're human.
- 14:45You go through it and you just forget sometimes and you're
- 14:47like, that's saying it's the most important thing you can do.
- 14:51So that's that was one of the hardest things as far as my
- 14:54faith, like before school was like graduating and having to
- 14:58acclimate and like not having the youth group, which we can go
- 15:03up until like Labor Day. But like I said, I was gone for
- 15:06so long that I didn't get really the opportunity and I had to
- 15:09miss Fuge and everything because of that.
- 15:11And that was really bad because that's like my favorite time of
- 15:13the year. And so that was kind of hard as
- 15:17far as my faith goes because it was like, where am I at?
- 15:21You know, but it's been, it was never really in a point where I
- 15:26was just like bottomed out, but it was, I was kind of starting
- 15:29to struggle because it's like, where do I find the medium?
- 15:35Right when you don't have an like something that makes you go
- 15:39to church like because in your family or household, you guys go
- 15:45to church on Sundays and you go to church on Wednesday and like
- 15:50your mom has facilitated that most of your life.
- 15:53So that's why I wanted to have this conversation with you
- 15:56because and that's I love that you acknowledged that right
- 16:01before school. But so just to go back a little
- 16:05bit. So Kane and his family, he did,
- 16:09he was pretty. He did go to church often and he
- 16:13tell us he also went in the summertime to tell us a little
- 16:17bit about Fuge. Is a week every summer and it
- 16:25was like our church camp, big church camp.
- 16:27And we have a pretty big youth group where I'm from.
- 16:29So it was like an opportunity to kind of go and it was like a, it
- 16:34was basically like a church camp on steroids 'cause it was like
- 16:37super fun. And we had the opportunity to go
- 16:39out in the community and like actually spread the gospel to
- 16:42people in the community. Wherever the camp was.
- 16:45They'd be like Alabama or Tennessee or somewhere like
- 16:47that. That was a pretty intricate
- 16:50experience and it was like my favorite part of the year all
- 16:54through high school because he got to go and meet people and
- 16:57make friends. And it's kind of one of those
- 16:59places where there's so many people that like your fire for
- 17:03God is just like can't get put out because it's like where two
- 17:08or more gathered there. I'm also is what like God says,
- 17:12but when there's 5000 people there and all there for the same
- 17:17reason. It it's, it's a pretty like
- 17:21anchor spot for me around the year because it's like that's
- 17:25where you can go and get grounded.
- 17:27Yeah, it's a, it allows you to like fill up your, your fuel
- 17:32again, right. And they, and so you like, so
- 17:36that's something that you like, you enjoy going and like
- 17:39spreading the word of God and talking with others, 'cause I
- 17:44mean, I know you, but other people listening to this don't
- 17:46know you. So like Cain really enjoys
- 17:49communicating with others and he, he's good at it.
- 17:55He's really that's one of the reasons many reasons I had him
- 17:58on here is he's good at communicating with others and it
- 18:02doesn't matter their age. He's good.
- 18:05I've noticed like he can speak with someone much older than me
- 18:10and then even much younger than him.
- 18:11So so he enjoys talking about the Lord to others.
- 18:16You've even you even had like a YouTube channel for a little
- 18:19while, right? Oh yeah, I was.
- 18:21I was doing TikTok for a little. While oh, I'm sorry, I'm not on.
- 18:24TikTok that was like I should have done it way more, but it
- 18:29was just the same situation. Like I was so busy and like that
- 18:33was during high school too. So I was so busy and I would
- 18:35just forget. And then sometimes the stuff
- 18:37like that you struggle like like why me?
- 18:40Like every it's from the it's from Satan, but it's like
- 18:44because everyone sins no matter what.
- 18:46If you lie, steal or murder, it's the same sin in God's eyes.
- 18:50But I know everyone deals with the same like, like, why are you
- 18:55like, why would you be worthy to tell people about God?
- 18:59Like if you're making these mistakes, you're doing these
- 19:01things and that stuff. Like I personally struggled
- 19:04with. And then it was on top of like
- 19:08it was on top of all the everything else.
- 19:11And so it just slowed down. So I should've done it more
- 19:13because I think like most videos, like the first four I
- 19:17posted got like north of 2000 views or something like that.
- 19:21And that was like me starting out, but I just slowed down on
- 19:24it. I really shouldn't have but just
- 19:27one of those. Yeah, and that's OK.
- 19:29I was just, I was just mentioning it not to go like,
- 19:32oh, you should have done more. I was mentioning it because the
- 19:35show, like you, it is your faith.
- 19:38It's not just your family's faith, it's your faith.
- 19:40And and yeah, I mean, and you do well at that kind of stuff and
- 19:46communicating. But so you've mentioned a couple
- 19:50of Times Now, Kane, about it. You're noticing that it's harder
- 19:57now that you're like on your own and making your own decisions
- 20:00and even though you're not as busy.
- 20:05It life is getting like more real, right?
- 20:09It's not just like, oh, I'm going to this and going to that
- 20:12and that and then like faith and going to church is part of all
- 20:17those things. So now you're noticing that
- 20:20you're going to have to be more intentional probably, right?
- 20:24I've been the I've been at the church is called North Monroe,
- 20:28so I've been there. I went there last Sunday and
- 20:31then today's Monday, right? Yeah.
- 20:35And I went there yesterday. And so I, I went because I have,
- 20:39I have a couple like buddies up here, like I said earlier.
- 20:42And he is like, hey, you should come try it out.
- 20:44So that was really helpful, like having people here that knew me
- 20:47prior and so they helped me get kind of plugged in.
- 20:50But that's one thing I'm trying to make like a point and most
- 20:55important is like have that time with God, you know, And so I've,
- 21:01it's, it's been a, it's been kind of like difficult to
- 21:06acclimate, but at the same time, like I'm surrounded by people
- 21:10here, thankfully that are willing to go or willing to do
- 21:15whatever. So that's made it a little
- 21:17easier to kind of get involved in that church and get involved
- 21:21in other places. But.
- 21:23OK, I mean, it's a good lesson to Start learning early.
- 21:27And it sounds like you even learned it from Pecos that like,
- 21:30hey, life can get busy, right? And I think that just from my
- 21:36own experience, like that's what Jesus wants us to know, right?
- 21:40Like life does get busy, but but we got to make intentional
- 21:45intention to work with him and to meet with him.
- 21:49And that means our first thing in the morning.
- 21:51That's for me. I do first thing in the morning,
- 21:53but it sounds like you have some good friends around you.
- 21:57Is that true? Like you already said that
- 21:59that's encouraging you to to go is does that help you when you
- 22:03have other people? Yeah, it does.
- 22:07I like, I like having community and we're thankful to have that
- 22:13here. So it definitely does make it
- 22:15easier when you have friends and people around you that are more
- 22:17like, like, hey, like, yeah, let's go, that'll be fun, rather
- 22:23than no, I don't want to do that.
- 22:24We want to go do this. So a lot of people around me
- 22:28prioritize that as well. And that's where I'm trying to
- 22:31get is to the point where that is #1 priority before everything
- 22:36else. Yeah.
- 22:37So that's made it, it makes it easier when you have a community
- 22:41of people who will like stand by you in that rather than like run
- 22:46from it. So.
- 22:48Yeah, Have you, That brings me to another question.
- 22:51Have you encountered anything? It sounds like you have a good
- 22:54community, but is like, are you learning anything in these first
- 22:58few weeks of like where you show up with your faith and you're
- 23:03intentionally be it like a work in progress wanting to put your
- 23:11faith first? Do you see where areas where
- 23:16that could be difficult or are you running into people that are
- 23:19like, don't talk to me about faith, you know?
- 23:23Well, actually this campus specifically is relatively like
- 23:33I would, I would. It's not, it's unnaturally, it's
- 23:36not a Christian university or anything.
- 23:38Right. It's a public, yeah.
- 23:39But you'll see like the, there's a BCM and there's even like a
- 23:43Catholic ministry here for students as well.
- 23:46And they're always out on the campus doing stuff or promoting
- 23:50an event they're having or whatever.
- 23:52So I haven't noticed any pushback per SE on Christianity
- 23:58here, which is something that's pretty encouraging because like
- 24:01you don't it naturally it's a college campus.
- 24:04But in my 3 weeks here, I haven't really noticed anything
- 24:08that's just someone blatantly disregarding that or blatantly
- 24:13fighting that. So that's also kind of
- 24:16encouraging 'cause there's really, there's people around
- 24:21that like despite the people that are in like my group or
- 24:26community I have around me, there's people around here that
- 24:30live faith-based lives or do their best to as people.
- 24:34So yeah, I haven't noticed to this point anyone who's like
- 24:39been pushing back on that at all or had a conversation like that
- 24:43yet. OK, OK.
- 24:46Do you, because it is college, you'll probably will run into
- 24:51that. What do you how do you think
- 24:52you'll handle that? Well with my experiences, like
- 24:59like we said earlier, going to fuge and everything like that, I
- 25:03have dealt with kind of bringing my faith and like 2 people and
- 25:09them disregarding it or trying to argue and I believe it's
- 25:15apologetics, correct? How you defend your faith.
- 25:19Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I believe that is when it's
- 25:21called. I I'm not sure if that's exactly
- 25:24how it's pronounced, but it will, yeah.
- 25:26Something like that, something near that, but I, I had the
- 25:30opportunity for like when I did go to future working on my
- 25:34apologetics and everything and knowing what to say and how to
- 25:39say it when people kind of push back on you.
- 25:42One thing I do need to learn is more scripture, specifically
- 25:46from the Bible, defending my faith.
- 25:48But even in like high school a couple times, nothing like
- 25:53crazy, but I had to share what maybe not defend my faith, but
- 25:59share what I believe and why I believe it that way.
- 26:04And so I've had experience with that.
- 26:05So I think I can, I can handle it in a way where it's more not
- 26:12like this is my way. You have to believe it this way,
- 26:16rather like this is what I believe.
- 26:19This is why I believe it. And I mean, listen, that's one
- 26:24of the most important things I think is a lot of people will do
- 26:28a lot of talking when it comes to that.
- 26:29And not a not enough listening as far as understanding why
- 26:34someone is thinking the way they are, where they're coming from.
- 26:38And that's where a lot of people get kind of misconstrued because
- 26:42you'll notice a lot of people of any faith, really, not just
- 26:46Christianity, but they'll throw it on you.
- 26:49And they're like, well, the way you believe is dumb.
- 26:52And this is how I believe it. And I don't, I can't understand
- 26:56why you don't believe it this way.
- 26:58And I think I've been in the spot where you kind of have to
- 27:01know, like not everyone grew up the same way you did or has seen
- 27:05the same things you have or been exposed to the same things you
- 27:09have. So if that opportunity does
- 27:13arise or that conversation does come up, I think I'll be good in
- 27:19a sense of knowing how to go about it.
- 27:24Yeah, I get what you're saying. You'll have a conversation with
- 27:27them. You won't be condemning them.
- 27:31Yeah, I gotcha. So a couple more questions and
- 27:34then we'll wrap up. Thanks for taking some time on
- 27:38your Monday afternoon evening. Yeah, it's not a problem at all.
- 27:42We just got back from playing some golf so.
- 27:44I was going to say you probably have pickleball or golf or some
- 27:48basketball or something to go play.
- 27:50But let's see, when you picture yourself at the end this year
- 27:55because, well, you have some time, you know, throughout the
- 27:58end of the school school year, what kind of growth would make
- 28:02you proud, not just academically, but as a person
- 28:08and in your relationship with God.
- 28:11I know from like a personal standpoint, naturally, like I
- 28:17know myself better than most people because I'm me, but I
- 28:21know that there's a lot of things that I have to work on
- 28:26just like everybody else. And just becoming more patient
- 28:31and like kind. That's that's something that I
- 28:34want to work on is like being able to understand and handle
- 28:41myself in a more like more mature way, because I'm not
- 28:46necessarily terrible about that. But I'd like to see myself like
- 28:51grow in that aspect of being able to like walk in my faith
- 28:55more strongly and people be able to see that radiating off of me.
- 29:00That would be ideal. So just kind of mature and grow
- 29:05up and know I I'd like to at least know my way how to drive
- 29:11around Monroe and that time was lost.
- 29:14But but other than that, I'd like just, yeah, just grow up
- 29:19and kind of see where 365 days puts me in a college campus, and
- 29:29I'd like to be on the right path.
- 29:33What What do you consider the right path?
- 29:38Well, I'd like to 1 be involved in the church in some way,
- 29:44especially the church up here, because I like it.
- 29:47I actually really like it. I've been to a couple of
- 29:49services and I enjoy it a lot. But I'd like to see myself,
- 29:54like, maybe sharing the gospel a little more or like I said just
- 29:59a second ago, like people knowing like that I'm a
- 30:04follower, you know, of God. That's OK.
- 30:10You're your sister is calling me.
- 30:15Oh, so mom, I'm in an interview. Let's see, how do we get back
- 30:23there? Oh well, we lost him for a
- 30:29second because he was probably on his phone.
- 30:32I will give it a second and see if he comes back in.
- 30:35But I hope you've been enjoying this with my nephew Kane.
- 30:42He's such a sweetheart here. He's he's back on.
- 30:45So I'm going to let him back in. My my sister Amy was probably
- 30:48calling him to check on him, but let's let him back in.
- 30:53Hey. Mom called.
- 30:55Sorry, no worries. You were saying that you want to
- 31:00you want to be known, but that you're a follower of Christ just
- 31:04through your life. Yeah, and I'd like to, I'd like
- 31:10to have more connections on campus, like make more friends
- 31:15and kind of know like that there's people here that I can
- 31:21rely on. I'd like to see that more
- 31:24outside of the group that I came with.
- 31:27OK, so some new friends. And just be, be on the right way
- 31:35to be like a I guess what I was trying to say by the right path
- 31:40is try to be like on the right direction to be like a, a father
- 31:46and like a husband one day and stuff like that.
- 31:49Like be the man I want to be or on the way there.
- 31:52Yeah, yeah. And showing that through your
- 31:56actions. Yes.
- 31:57Yeah, that are godly, biblical. OK.
- 32:04And you're. So you want to meet some new
- 32:06friends and I want to just say that you are a very kind person.
- 32:10Your spirit is kind. He's always been kind since he's
- 32:13a little boy. I don't know how he is when he's
- 32:16not around his aunts or his Mama.
- 32:18But like he checks on people. He calls them even he even calls
- 32:25me like he wanted us to. He wanted us to come and stop
- 32:29by. And I thought it was so great.
- 32:31Like he wants to talk to you. He calls you and he talks to
- 32:35you. And I think that is, you may not
- 32:36see that as kindness. You probably see that as like,
- 32:39that's just me. But that is kind, you know, it's
- 32:43OK. He already has, he's already
- 32:47well on his way to the right path that he's looking for.
- 32:51So but thank you so much for being here with us and and
- 32:57talking to my audience. And I think it's a good time
- 33:00because a lot of people, a lot of young men are men are
- 33:03starting their first year in college or maybe their second
- 33:08year. So thanks for speaking with me.
- 33:13Do you have anything else you would like to add before I close
- 33:16out? Thank you for having me on, I
- 33:19thought it was fun. I like doing stuff like this.
- 33:21So wasn't a. Problem at all?
- 33:25Yeah. Yeah, I love you.
- 33:27Thank you for coming to see me. Yeah, I love you too, and I know
- 33:31you do so well at this, so it's only I know it's only been a few
- 33:36weeks into your college. I hope that it goes as you hope.
- 33:43I know that you will, you know, do your best and I know you that
- 33:48you're supposed to get a maybe a job soon.
- 33:50So I hope that goes well. That would be fun.
- 33:52That job would be exciting. Yeah, and I'm excited to see
- 33:57what God does in your life and what you do in other people's
- 34:00lives. With God's help, I'm excited to
- 34:03see that in this season to come. Thank you so much.
- 34:09I'm going to go ahead and take you off and then we're I'm just
- 34:11going to close out and thank you.
- 34:14Love you love. You.
- 34:16Bye, bye. Thank you for joining us with
- 34:23Kane. That was just, I hope you
- 34:26enjoyed that talk and if it was useful to you or anyone that you
- 34:32know in your life, please take the time to share it with them.
