- 0:01Speaker 1: Well, here he is. It's JD to tech talk with us. Yes, there, JD.
- 0:08Speaker 2: He is here. He's the host of the three bit
- 0:10Speaker 2: Gamer show. Yep, and that's a podcast that you can
- 0:13Speaker 2: get once a.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Week, yeah, every Tuesday morning and wherever you have podcasts.
- 0:18Speaker 2: And he makes cookies, yes I do, and best cookies,
- 0:21Speaker 2: the best cookies, the crave.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah, crave cookies. Cookies. Yeah.
- 0:25Speaker 2: And he brings us little websites and the games to
- 0:29Speaker 2: look at.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So let's get to.
- 0:30Speaker 3: It all right, So this month, I guess the first
- 0:33Speaker 3: half of this month, not a lot of things out.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Everyone's still distracted playing Assassin's Creed. But one that's I
- 0:40Speaker 3: think worth looking into, especially if you have friends to
- 0:43Speaker 3: play with, is Monaco two Monico.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, the original.
- 0:48Speaker 3: One was a I mean, it's the exact same kind
- 0:50Speaker 3: of game, but Monico is a top down heist game
- 0:56Speaker 3: where you and a number of characters are sneaking around
- 1:00Speaker 3: various properties or areas and you know, avoiding guards or
- 1:05Speaker 3: distracting them with your cute dog, or or knocking them
- 1:09Speaker 3: out or whatever. Because all of the different characters have
- 1:12Speaker 3: certain abilities. So there's like like a lady who has
- 1:16Speaker 3: a dog that distracts people. There's like a doctor that
- 1:18Speaker 3: can knock people out, things like that, and so you
- 1:21Speaker 3: you kind of plan your your.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Your path around the level. Think about it. You know
- 1:26Speaker 1: in Ocean's eleven, when.
- 1:27Speaker 3: They're sitting around just one one more job, Yeah, just
- 1:30Speaker 3: looking at blue prints and figuring out where they're all
- 1:33Speaker 3: going to go, where this guard goes. They've basically turned
- 1:36Speaker 3: that into kind of a fun, quirky, a little bit
- 1:39Speaker 3: cartoony video game, and it's awesome. It's it's it's been
- 1:43Speaker 3: pretty fun. I played the demo a couple months back,
- 1:46Speaker 3: and I think especially if you have people.
- 1:48Speaker 1: That you're talking to while you're playing and like, oh,
- 1:51Speaker 1: we've got to get that guard. Wait wait wait wait,
- 1:53Speaker 1: okay go now, well that's that's an Ocean's eleven. Heikes
- 1:56Speaker 1: to be able to communicate with your people. It's all
- 1:58Speaker 1: about heisting.
- 1:59Speaker 3: SOO two, it's out I think on I know it's
- 2:02Speaker 3: out on PC and Xbox. I also think it's on
- 2:04Speaker 3: PlayStation and that is out next week.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I never played the first one, but it's always
- 2:09Speaker 1: on Steam sales. Yeah, it always pops up. Yeah, it
- 2:11Speaker 1: was always super popular.
- 2:13Speaker 3: All right, Well we got so that's about it for games,
- 2:15Speaker 3: switching over to fun things to distract.
- 2:17Speaker 1: You at work because you don't want to be working.
- 2:20Speaker 1: This first one is really cool.
- 2:22Speaker 3: It's called Synthsational, and this allows you to play music
- 2:26Speaker 3: with your keyboard. It is a website. It's Sensational dot boondoggle.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Dot studio.
- 2:32Speaker 3: So probably just go to x ninety six dot com
- 2:36Speaker 3: to click that link. It gives you a kind of
- 2:39Speaker 3: a baseline, just like a little beat, and then you
- 2:42Speaker 3: can using four or five keys on your keyboard. You
- 2:46Speaker 3: can add music, you can add little tones, you can
- 2:49Speaker 3: add notes. You can also remix that. You can change
- 2:52Speaker 3: or mess with the visualizer. And the coolest part is
- 2:55Speaker 3: you can record. So if you come up with like
- 2:57Speaker 3: kind of a cool little jam you want to send
- 2:58Speaker 3: to your friends or whatever, you can just record that
- 3:01Speaker 3: and remix it and send them to people.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Uh you you can't do it on your iPad? Is
- 3:05Speaker 1: it not a mobile friendly?
- 3:07Speaker 2: No?
- 3:07Speaker 1: You need your keyboard.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Okay, work, These work computers are not made for this website.
- 3:11Speaker 1: What what if?
- 3:12Speaker 2: What if you have absolutely no musical ability at all?
- 3:16Speaker 3: You know, I was just like kind of mashing the
- 3:18Speaker 3: keyboard and it it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It takes care of it.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean it's so simplified that it's it's
- 3:24Speaker 3: usually pretty easy. So yeah, if you guys want to
- 3:26Speaker 3: just mix some music, play like I feel like a
- 3:29Speaker 3: like a DJ.
- 3:30Speaker 1: How's we're going today, honey, and then you just send
- 3:33Speaker 1: your wife and clip.
- 3:36Speaker 3: This is one that I loved because I love geology,
- 3:39Speaker 3: and I think it's just fascinating. This is a time
- 3:44Speaker 3: travel machine where you can watch continents drift apart, drift
- 3:48Speaker 3: toward each other, you know, doing what continents do it
- 3:51Speaker 3: a you could just scroll down, uh not on like
- 3:54Speaker 3: a like like you're just scrolling down a website, but
- 3:58Speaker 3: as you go, the continents drift as they as they do,
- 4:04Speaker 3: back to I guess Pangaea, and then back to when
- 4:07Speaker 3: they drift apart. What you can do that's really cool
- 4:10Speaker 3: is if you click on a certain continent. So I
- 4:12Speaker 3: clicked on like North America, I don't know exactly what
- 4:14Speaker 3: they were calling it, and then it just locks in
- 4:16Speaker 3: on that as you scroll, so you can see so
- 4:18Speaker 3: what This is really fascinating to me because when I
- 4:21Speaker 3: was in Capitol Reef last time, I went to the
- 4:23Speaker 3: Dorkey like the park Ranger presentation where they sit there
- 4:28Speaker 3: and explain all the geology what you're looking at, and
- 4:31Speaker 3: they were explaining that this all used to be like
- 4:33Speaker 3: a shallow sea, which is insane to think of, like
- 4:35Speaker 3: how far inland we are, like how high the elevation is?
- 4:39Speaker 3: How was this a sea? Will you go and you
- 4:41Speaker 3: scroll down through this and you're like, oh, I see
- 4:44Speaker 3: because you can still see the outline of you know,
- 4:46Speaker 3: where Utah is, for example, and you can see the
- 4:49Speaker 3: variety of different oceans and things that have taken over.
- 4:52Speaker 3: So if you're ever kind of curious about geology and
- 4:56Speaker 3: continental drift and how that's impacted, especially southern Utah, you
- 5:00Speaker 3: can just see in layers.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Well you can see Lake Bonneville. Oh yeah, that was here.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I mean you can sort of see the bathtub rings. Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 2: nowhere to look.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Right, I'm looking at the Great Dying Portion. Yeah, Earth's
- 5:11Speaker 1: history right now.
- 5:12Speaker 3: And it does have like explanations that like it's not
- 5:15Speaker 3: just like a globe that changes, Like there's a lot
- 5:17Speaker 3: of text and explanation of what's happening as you scroll
- 5:20Speaker 3: through back through time.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So yeah, that's really cool.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Another another site that you got to go to X
- 5:25Speaker 3: ninety six dot com to click as that link is
- 5:28Speaker 3: not something you'll remember no, okay and something. So those
- 5:32Speaker 3: are the fun things. Here's something miserable. Yeah. Uh, this
- 5:35Speaker 3: is Project twenty twenty five Dot observer. Hey, it's happening.
- 5:39Speaker 3: You might as well know what's going on this. This
- 5:42Speaker 3: is not a perfect tracker. I think some of the
- 5:44Speaker 3: data is a little cherry pick. Some of it's not
- 5:46Speaker 3: necessarily fully scientific. But as a plate, I don't know
- 5:51Speaker 3: of many other sites that are doing this. It's just
- 5:54Speaker 3: a helpful tool that helps you monitor all the things
- 5:57Speaker 3: that the Trump administration is doing to enact twenty twenty five,
- 6:01Speaker 3: along with like percentage of completion for the goals that
- 6:05Speaker 3: they set out with this.
- 6:07Speaker 1: We're doing pretty good. Yeah, I mean promise is kept right, Yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 1: because the media is not reporting it, nobody knows. Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 3: So there's you know, there's links to a lot of
- 6:17Speaker 3: these things that explain where you know how they're how
- 6:19Speaker 3: they're coming along, and why they're coming along and what's happening.
- 6:22Speaker 3: You can also sort by you know, agencies affected, so
- 6:25Speaker 3: if you work in one of these agencies you can
- 6:27Speaker 3: kind of keep an eye on it. Subjects completion status.
- 6:30Speaker 3: I think it's going to become more and more robust
- 6:33Speaker 3: it's pretty early, because everything is pretty early on this stuff.
- 6:36Speaker 3: But yeah, that is Project twenty twenty five dot observer.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I'm looking at the nuclear subject tracker right now and
- 6:42Speaker 3: zero percent on that so far.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Oh that's good. I thank god, that's what we needed.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I got two fun ones. Okay, wash that taste out
- 6:50Speaker 3: of your mouth. The first one is, I don't know
- 6:52Speaker 3: why this exists. It's called Jack dot Black okay, and
- 6:56Speaker 3: I've someone that I found just just stumbled on this randomly.
- 7:00Speaker 3: It is I don't know what is it like sound
- 7:03Speaker 3: board fifteen. Yeah, it's like a sound order, like fifteen
- 7:05Speaker 3: clips and they're all pretty short clips and you can
- 7:10Speaker 3: just try to guess what songs they are.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Oh, I see there are bits of songs. Yeah. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: that's enough. Yeah, enough that most people can recognize it.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It's a fun thing and take you five ten minutes
- 7:23Speaker 3: to go through it all and try to guess them all,
- 7:24Speaker 3: or see how many you can guess.
- 7:26Speaker 1: The shame gene is not here, she's good at this.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Well let's say let's save this.
- 7:29Speaker 3: And yeah, so it's easy to remember Jack dop Black.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I think what happened to someone was googling Jack Black
- 7:35Speaker 3: and accidentally hit and then they just stumbled on this.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It has nothing to do with Jack Black. That's Beastie Boys,
- 7:45Speaker 1: eminem Easy Boys. I thought that was it, and my
- 7:50Speaker 1: name is go know.
- 7:54Speaker 3: So the last one here, this is specifically for Carrie.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Oh well, damn you and everyone in your family. It well,
- 8:04Speaker 1: because I mean, the chicken one was addictive, but this
- 8:07Speaker 1: is kitties. Yeah, the chicken one was addictive.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Three sixty eight chickens that I mentioned a couple weeks.
- 8:13Speaker 3: This is a matching game. So think of it like Bejeweled.
- 8:17Speaker 3: You are matching cats, match three cats. So the chickens
- 8:21Speaker 3: was two chickens. This is three and the kitties. So
- 8:26Speaker 3: it's the same kind of concept like a a Jeweled game,
- 8:29Speaker 3: but you're matching cats instead of chickens or jewels. It's
- 8:34Speaker 3: another website. Again, these links, none of these links are
- 8:37Speaker 3: really friendly. I'm stacking cats remembering today.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Oh my kitties.
- 8:43Speaker 3: You guys keep talking, I'm going to Yeah. It's pretty distracting,
- 8:47Speaker 3: as you may have noticed. So anyone that wanted to
- 8:49Speaker 3: play a game to keep you distracted at work, you
- 8:52Speaker 3: can kind of buzz through Jacked Out Black and the
- 8:56Speaker 3: the music thing. But yeah, what you really want to
- 9:00Speaker 3: do is match cats.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I'm stuck on the kiddies.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yeah that's what that's where you'll.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Thanks a lot, buddy. Yeah, good luck, guys, see you later.
- 9:11Speaker 3: All right?
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh you can stack four cats? Oh my gosh, it
- 9:15Speaker 1: doesn't have to be the three. Uh well, the object
- 9:22Speaker 1: is it's.
- 9:24Speaker 3: But they all clear, there's probably no limit to how
- 9:27Speaker 3: many in a row you can get.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I mean, well, what I guess it has to be five.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Let's test that out instead of all all right, they're
- 9:36Speaker 1: not give me the right kind of kidding. Yeah, that's
- 9:38Speaker 1: a good match. I got four cats again. I got
- 9:41Speaker 1: four cats again, I got I got the fishbowl. There's
- 9:45Speaker 1: a fish there's a fish bowl. Yeah I didn't see
- 9:47Speaker 1: a fishbowl. Must be into it. Yeah, all right, okay enough.
- 9:55Speaker 1: This is this is how addicted the game is. Playing
- 9:58Speaker 1: a stupid game on the radio is exactly Radio Chicken.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Just when I was doing last night for like an hour.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I just need more one. I just need one more
- 10:06Speaker 1: yawning cat, and I think I'll be done well, all right,
