- 0:00Speaker 2: It was awesome, right Whirlwind officially out on Friday.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Go but let's do let's.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Like standing ovation style and we're gonna clap. Okay, we're
- 0:09Speaker 3: clapping for Laney Wilson. It's a great album.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Laney Wilson.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Hey, now, do me a favor, Do me a favor.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Turn around and clap for Laney Wilson for real, for real,
- 0:21Speaker 3: for real.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. I got y'all, I got y'all. Hey,
- 0:26Speaker 1: y'all were like, and I don't have my phone and
- 0:28Speaker 1: I did my there she is, Come on, o, Laney Wilson.
- 0:35Speaker 1: She a big old deal. What's up girl?
- 0:37Speaker 4: We pointed out the wrong door.
- 0:40Speaker 3: She snuck up, So let's do this. Hey, we're gonna
- 0:46Speaker 3: hang out a little bit. We'll put Uh, I'm gonna.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Give you this.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Okay, whatd y'all think? Could you like it? Hey?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Don't lie because she she's been listening to y'all critique
- 0:58Speaker 3: this album.
- 0:59Speaker 4: They were like, but I hate that one and I.
- 1:04Speaker 3: So we're excited because, be honest, how many y'll thought
- 1:07Speaker 3: Laney would.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Show up to this?
- 1:09Speaker 4: A few of y'all didn't.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I Now I'll tell you, Laney is not judgmental. She's
- 1:18Speaker 3: a teacher that skipped out on teaching children.
- 1:20Speaker 4: From me, I don't blame you. I don't blame you. Look,
- 1:23Speaker 4: I come from a family of teachers, my mama, all
- 1:26Speaker 4: of my aunts, and they would miss it for some
- 1:28Speaker 4: country music too, So it.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Was worth listen, listen, we know spring.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Uh the summer break is really for teachers, not for
- 1:35Speaker 3: the kids, but as a as a parent, as.
- 1:39Speaker 4: A parent, as a parent, it wouldn't kill you all
- 1:42Speaker 4: to work all year.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. Uh.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Oh, you're here for some teacher from now Hey.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Y'all, clip this. I don't want to see this nowhere.
- 1:51Speaker 1: This is why you don't have your phones. Uh.
- 1:54Speaker 3: We got a lot to catch up and limited time
- 1:56Speaker 3: to catch up.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Take kick us off here?
- 1:58Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Well, I think a lot of us really loved Ring Finger.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I could tell a lot of the ladies were vibe
- 2:04Speaker 2: into it. So do you have a story behind I wasn't.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I wasn't.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Yeah, he was like he was salty the whole time.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Boo.
- 2:09Speaker 4: What's so funny? Because anytime anybody has like a middle
- 2:12Speaker 4: Finger song idea, they come to me. I'm like, what
- 2:15Speaker 4: y'all trying to say, you know, but uh, at first
- 2:19Speaker 4: I thought I was putting myself into the shoes of
- 2:21Speaker 4: a character and kind of writing from that perspective, and
- 2:23Speaker 4: then I realized pretty quick that it was actually me
- 2:27Speaker 4: and uh we had fun with it, like we just
- 2:30Speaker 4: we went for it. And I'll be honest, that's the
- 2:32Speaker 4: track on the record that I was like, either you
- 2:34Speaker 4: gonna love it or you're gonna hate it. And surprisingly, uh,
- 2:38Speaker 4: most people have like been talking about that one. It
- 2:40Speaker 4: really shocks you. So it leaves an impression.
- 2:43Speaker 3: But I'll tell you it is not that like you're
- 2:47Speaker 3: I'm gonna preface this. Your music is not predictable. But
- 2:49Speaker 3: when we started that song, I was.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Like, you're like, what in the word?
- 2:52Speaker 1: I'm like, where this idea from?
- 2:54Speaker 4: Well, okay, so we do it.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So were you comfortable in that space as well? So
- 2:57Speaker 3: two part question, Oh yeah, so oh it's.
- 3:00Speaker 4: So different, right, It was way different, But I'll tell you,
- 3:03Speaker 4: like on a storytelling aspect, we wrote it with just
- 3:06Speaker 4: a guitar and so it was like super broke down
- 3:09Speaker 4: and it gave me an opportunity to talk in a song,
- 3:12Speaker 4: which a lot of people talk about my speaking voice.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Whether they love it or hate it, they talk about it,
- 3:16Speaker 4: so we're just given to people what they want, what
- 3:19Speaker 4: they don't want, you know what I mean. And we
- 3:22Speaker 4: got into the studio in the beginning of the song
- 3:25Speaker 4: if you listen to that, liked that part. To me.
- 3:30Speaker 4: When we were creating that, it kind of felt like
- 3:32Speaker 4: that was the character's head and brain and heart, like
- 3:35Speaker 4: she was just mad as hell, and then all of
- 3:37Speaker 4: a sudden, when it kind of comes down into that
- 3:39Speaker 4: funky groove, it feels like she's kind of collected her composure,
- 3:43Speaker 4: so she can tell her side of the story.
- 3:45Speaker 3: So as people obviously we've heard the album, but as
- 3:48Speaker 3: the rest of the world gets to hear the album,
- 3:50Speaker 3: I always love to ask about a song that means more,
- 3:52Speaker 3: or maybe you put more heart into or it was
- 3:55Speaker 3: this stuff for a tougher story to tell. Is there
- 3:57Speaker 3: one of those songs on this album that you're like, God,
- 4:00Speaker 3: please like this. I don't care if y'all hate five
- 4:02Speaker 3: of them, but this love this one?
- 4:05Speaker 4: I mean, one that I take a lot of pride
- 4:07Speaker 4: in is probably whiskey colored crayon, just because, like I said,
- 4:10Speaker 4: I am from a family full of teachers and what
- 4:13Speaker 4: I've realized from like traveling the world this year, We've
- 4:17Speaker 4: already toured Australia, UK, Europe, and we on our own
- 4:20Speaker 4: tour right now here. The more people I meet, the
- 4:24Speaker 4: more stories I get to hear from people who just
- 4:26Speaker 4: come through my meet and greet lines. And it's truly
- 4:30Speaker 4: amazing what these people feel comfortable sharing with me. And
- 4:34Speaker 4: I take it and I'm like, man, there's so many
- 4:38Speaker 4: different types of people that make the world go around,
- 4:40Speaker 4: and they go through so much and we all put
- 4:43Speaker 4: our pants on the same way, one leg at a time.
- 4:45Speaker 4: But I think it's important to tell some of the
- 4:48Speaker 4: stories that you hear.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I gotta tell you we were lucky enough to meet lady.
- 4:53Speaker 3: There's this thing called radio tour. And she probably killed
- 4:57Speaker 3: PTSD in her face when I said that, because drink
- 5:03Speaker 3: because mine's gone. But it's essentially a brand new artist
- 5:06Speaker 3: nobody knows can walk through the airport, nobody cares. Has
- 5:09Speaker 3: the worst flight. Uh, we're seat on the Southwest flight.
- 5:12Speaker 3: We're talking like middle in the back tolet yeah, by
- 5:16Speaker 3: the toilet, right, no seatbelt, hang on. But Laney is
- 5:21Speaker 3: literally just a handful of years away, uh from from
- 5:24Speaker 3: when she was doing that to now being a multi
- 5:27Speaker 3: time entertainer of the year. I mean, if you had
- 5:30Speaker 3: a entertainment contest at your school, right a talent show,
- 5:34Speaker 3: Landy would show up and defeat the children.
- 5:36Speaker 1: She wins, She wins where she goes. But I will
- 5:39Speaker 1: tell you it's no surprise.
- 5:42Speaker 3: To anybody that knows her right because obviously names, there's
- 5:46Speaker 3: other names that have been around a long time, but
- 5:47Speaker 3: Laney grinds, Laney works hard. So with all of that,
- 5:50Speaker 3: since radio tour to today, are you comfortable because it's
- 5:55Speaker 3: all shown up at your door real fast.
- 5:57Speaker 4: It's here. You knock and you shall receive you. I'll
- 6:02Speaker 4: tell you, I think the first ten years of me
- 6:04Speaker 4: being in this town, because I've been here for thirteen,
- 6:06Speaker 4: but I think those first ten years of nothing happening
- 6:10Speaker 4: prepared me for what's happening right now, y'all. I'll be honest.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I'm hanging in there like a hair and a cheese
- 6:15Speaker 4: biscuit right now. But it's so good. It's so many blessings.
- 6:20Speaker 4: I'm like, thank you Jesus. This is what I have
- 6:23Speaker 4: always wanted to do, and it's coming tenfold. And some
- 6:28Speaker 4: days are hard, like this morning. I got up, I
- 6:30Speaker 4: don't know why. I just fell a little cock eyed,
- 6:32Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, Like, where am I? What
- 6:34Speaker 4: am I doing? I was even like I got in
- 6:36Speaker 4: the truck to come here. I was filming a video
- 6:38Speaker 4: and then I realized, oh shoot, I'm running low on gas.
- 6:41Speaker 4: And then I'm like, oh shoot, I'm about out of
- 6:42Speaker 4: gas because then I forgot that I was running low
- 6:44Speaker 4: on Anyway, A lot's going through my brain right now,
- 6:47Speaker 4: and it probably has a lot to do with this
- 6:49Speaker 4: record coming out. I'm ready for it to happen.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Well, when are some of those moments when you can
- 6:55Speaker 2: slow down and kind of picture what's in front of you,
- 6:59Speaker 2: everything that you've accomplished already, I mean becoming a grand
- 7:02Speaker 2: All Operary member to your massive awards, When do you
- 7:05Speaker 2: get the time to just sit and be like, wow,
- 7:09Speaker 2: like I.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Did all this, I think it'll be top of the year. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 4: I'll get a moment just to really like sit there
- 7:16Speaker 4: and take it all in. And I'm the more that
- 7:19Speaker 4: we're doing, like the bigger things that we're doing, the
- 7:22Speaker 4: more I'm realizing how important, Like you just got to
- 7:24Speaker 4: like block off your calendar and be like I need
- 7:28Speaker 4: these days. I just like I can't talk to anybody.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I need to like just just get myself together, fill
- 7:33Speaker 4: your cook so you can try to feel other people.
- 7:35Speaker 4: That's what it's about right there.
- 7:37Speaker 3: We do want to talk about the establishment we're sitting
- 7:40Speaker 3: in shortly, but first, when you get to where you're at,
- 7:44Speaker 3: you get asks. Right, do you want to endorse this product?
- 7:47Speaker 3: I made up a jingle for you to sing.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I heard you back there, trust me. I was like that,
- 7:50Speaker 4: ain't that bad? Would you say something about twice?
- 7:55Speaker 1: It's so nice? I bought them twice?
- 8:00Speaker 4: Y'all heard it? Wrangler? That was Yeah, you say lone
- 8:03Speaker 4: Live Cowgirls, Long live girls.
- 8:05Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Uh, we want to talk about this this building. But
- 8:09Speaker 3: to to where you're being pulled in so many directions.
- 8:13Speaker 3: You've had great success working with Hardy on his song, uh,
- 8:17Speaker 3: working with different artists.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 8:19Speaker 3: At what point were you like, yes, post Malone, I'm
- 8:21Speaker 3: all in, I'm working with you.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Well, it was actually the day after the Cmas uh,
- 8:28Speaker 4: the biggest night of my life, and they were writing.
- 8:32Speaker 4: They were like it was like a writing camp all
- 8:34Speaker 4: week long. I know, like Luke Holmb's and Hardy and
- 8:36Speaker 4: Morgan and Ernest and Jelly and everybody had been writing
- 8:39Speaker 4: all week long, but he was like, do you want
- 8:41Speaker 4: to come? Uh, just right through the night. I've never
- 8:44Speaker 4: done that. Like I'm like a morning writer, you know
- 8:46Speaker 4: what I'm saying. But they're like rock They're like real
- 8:48Speaker 4: rock stars. I felt like a loser. I was like, ooh,
- 8:52Speaker 4: I need a rebel. But we wrote through the night.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I get there and they're playing this song nose Dive
- 9:00Speaker 4: at a few of my buddies and him wrote together
- 9:02Speaker 4: and I was just kind of randomly singing harmony in
- 9:04Speaker 4: the background, and I thought this song sounds special. And
- 9:08Speaker 4: he heard me singing some of the harmony and he said,
- 9:10Speaker 4: you just want to sing on this one? And I
- 9:12Speaker 4: said all right, And then we wrote several more that night,
- 9:15Speaker 4: and one of the ones that we wrote him and
- 9:17Speaker 4: Dolly Parton did together. I'm like, it's a big deal.
- 9:21Speaker 4: That's pretty cool. I'm like, if nothing else good happens,
- 9:26Speaker 4: that's enough.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Let me ask one more post malone related thing, because
- 9:29Speaker 3: a lot of artists dip their toe into country, but
- 9:32Speaker 3: it seems like artists like you, artists like Morgan, artists
- 9:35Speaker 3: like like Jelly Dolly have really what's so different about
- 9:41Speaker 3: his experience with country that makes everybody like, yeah, you're
- 9:43Speaker 3: you're legit.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Well, I'll just tell you, like, even aside from knowing
- 9:48Speaker 4: country music history, and like, y'all, when I tell you
- 9:50Speaker 4: he is a country music fan, you could you could
- 9:53Speaker 4: say who sang that song about that watermelon back in
- 9:57Speaker 4: the nineties and blah blah blah whatever, and like he
- 10:00Speaker 4: he knows his stuff and it's just super refreshing, and
- 10:05Speaker 4: it just kind of feels like he should just be
- 10:06Speaker 4: a part of the genre anyway. And then on a
- 10:09Speaker 4: personal note, I watched him that night that we wrote together,
- 10:12Speaker 4: and that was the first time I had ever met him,
- 10:14Speaker 4: was when we wrote because I didn't get to meet
- 10:16Speaker 4: him Matthew Awards the night before. But I watched how
- 10:19Speaker 4: he was treating people, and I watched how he treated
- 10:23Speaker 4: the man who owned the studio, and I watched how
- 10:25Speaker 4: he treated the man who even came in and changed
- 10:27Speaker 4: the trash, and he treated them both the same way,
- 10:31Speaker 4: with love and respect. And I thought, you know what,
- 10:34Speaker 4: you want people like that to win? One hundred percent?
- 10:37Speaker 4: We need more people like post Malone. He's got a
- 10:40Speaker 4: good heart and and he loves country music. So I'm
- 10:44Speaker 4: glad he's here.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Well.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Speaking of collaborations, I want to get back to your
- 10:47Speaker 2: album Whirlwind. You have Miranda Lambert on the album, but
- 10:51Speaker 2: in a world right now where I feel like collaborations
- 10:54Speaker 2: are just on fire. Did you ever feel like, i mean,
- 10:57Speaker 2: pressure to have more collaborations or you're just like, you
- 11:00Speaker 2: know what, this is good.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I'm good with this, and who knows what will happen.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Maybe we'll, you know, maybe we'll have more collaborations coming.
- 11:06Speaker 4: We're trying to kind of figure that out. We want
- 11:08Speaker 4: to get this out there and see which way the
- 11:10Speaker 4: wind blows.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Got a song with Lallen here?
- 11:14Speaker 4: No, I didn't, but that's not a bad idea. You're
- 11:18Speaker 4: coming with all kind of good ideas. You ain't right,
- 11:22Speaker 4: but uh but yeah, I mean everybody's doing collaborations. I'm
- 11:27Speaker 4: doing a lot of collaborations, but I have never done
- 11:29Speaker 4: any of my own, like on a project of my own.
- 11:33Speaker 4: And Miranda, she's kind of become like my country music
- 11:36Speaker 4: big sister, tells me what to do, what not to do,
- 11:39Speaker 4: and she like, she's one of those people that will
- 11:42Speaker 4: call me and check on me and be like, how
- 11:44Speaker 4: is your head? You know where you at? Are you Okay.
- 11:46Speaker 4: She even texted me yesterday. She was just like just
- 11:48Speaker 4: checking in, and uh, I just truly care about the girl,
- 11:53Speaker 4: and she truly cares about me. And I mean she's
- 11:55Speaker 4: a huge influence of mind. I don't know of anybody,
- 11:58Speaker 4: any of female artists who mood of this town in
- 12:01Speaker 4: the past fifteen years, who could say that Miranda has
- 12:04Speaker 4: not influenced or pay you the way period.
- 12:07Speaker 3: So yep, So the elevemn is fantastic. But let's talk
- 12:11Speaker 3: about the day that you were approached. Hey, you want
- 12:15Speaker 3: to put your name on Lower Broadway, like Lany Wilson's
- 12:19Speaker 3: got a spot on Broadway. It's nuts to me because again,
- 12:22Speaker 3: not that you don't deserve it, but like I rewind,
- 12:25Speaker 3: Tay and I were working for a radio station in
- 12:27Speaker 3: Las Vegas at the time. Here comes in this girl
- 12:29Speaker 3: with these bell bottoms carrying her own thing. She was like,
- 12:32Speaker 3: hang on, let me brust my hair before I do
- 12:34Speaker 3: this thing. And I was like, and then and then
- 12:36Speaker 3: she came back, and I go she came back and
- 12:39Speaker 3: I go, oh, I guess she's not brushing her hair, kid,
- 12:43Speaker 3: But don't I hate brushing my hair?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Hey, same, just do what I did.
- 12:48Speaker 3: But to know where you where you started and where
- 12:52Speaker 3: you're at now, and the fact that you look up
- 12:54Speaker 3: and down here right artists that have been established for
- 12:57Speaker 3: ten twenty plus years and Landy Will who is dominating
- 13:01Speaker 3: country music right now, boom here you are. So tell
- 13:04Speaker 3: us what this experience was was like from beginning to
- 13:07Speaker 3: now and how involved were you.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah, so they approached us, who I guess about a
- 13:14Speaker 4: year ago now, and they just said, are you interested
- 13:16Speaker 4: in having a place down here? And I thought, well,
- 13:18Speaker 4: heck yeah, like all of my buddies bars are popping
- 13:22Speaker 4: up and uh and I had always said if I
- 13:25Speaker 4: had a bar down here, I kind of manifested. You know,
- 13:28Speaker 4: I'm big about that. I said, I want to call
- 13:30Speaker 4: it bell bottoms Up. Like I had all of these
- 13:34Speaker 4: like visions and everything that I wanted to see come
- 13:36Speaker 4: to life. And then we had a team of people
- 13:38Speaker 4: just really kind of jot down all the things that
- 13:42Speaker 4: that I love, things that like kind of tell my story.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Even I mean, right here, it feels like we're sitting
- 13:48Speaker 4: right in the middle of Louisiana, you know, with the
- 13:50Speaker 4: in the middle of a swamp, with our alligators up
- 13:53Speaker 4: here on the wall. So I was very involved with
- 13:57Speaker 4: with all the creative stuff, but what.
- 13:59Speaker 3: About the man I did make a joke. I'm gonna
- 14:02Speaker 3: be honest, be honest, I be honest. So Tay was
- 14:07Speaker 3: like she was even involved with the menu, and I go, yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 3: but she didn't cook it, and insinuating I've never had
- 14:17Speaker 3: her food. I don't know if she can cook. But
- 14:18Speaker 3: I was trying to be a funny guy.
- 14:22Speaker 4: So well, I'll just go ahead and tell you don't
- 14:27Speaker 4: want my cook and I can miss up a hot pocket.
- 14:28Speaker 1: If you're gonna hit me, do it. If you're gonna
- 14:31Speaker 1: hit me, do it.
- 14:31Speaker 3: On the other side, I had, I literally had two
- 14:33Speaker 3: root canals this morning on this side.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Did you really?
- 14:35Speaker 1: But it's Laney Wilson.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Dude, dude, Jack, what are you doing?
- 14:40Speaker 3: A cowboy? I got from the city, from the city,
- 14:46Speaker 3: city cowboy. When it comes to the food in the kitchen,
- 14:51Speaker 3: how important was that because obviously you could put your
- 14:53Speaker 3: name up, here's some pictures of me and my friends,
- 14:56Speaker 3: you know, send the check, right, But you were more
- 15:00Speaker 3: involved with that in the food process. What was that
- 15:02Speaker 3: like and what had to make the menu?
- 15:05Speaker 4: The cookie skillet? Because every night that I'm home in Nashville,
- 15:09Speaker 4: I'm not even playing, y'all. I love me some cookie dough.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I would eat it out of the tub like this
- 15:15Speaker 4: under my arm. You think I'm playing. No, I'm not
- 15:19Speaker 4: proud of it, but it is what it is. So
- 15:22Speaker 4: of course the I think it's the hippies skillet cookie
- 15:25Speaker 4: had to make it, and I love recy cup, so
- 15:27Speaker 4: there's a there's a recy cup in the middle of
- 15:29Speaker 4: it too. But we sat down, we did a lot
- 15:32Speaker 4: of different like tastings, and I knew that I wanted
- 15:34Speaker 4: it to have a little bit of like that Louisiana
- 15:36Speaker 4: Cajun flare to it, because I don't think if there's
- 15:40Speaker 4: anywhere down here that has that, at least on Broadway,
- 15:43Speaker 4: and so wanted to make it my own. And if
- 15:46Speaker 4: y'all hadn't tried some of the food, it's like, it's really, really,
- 15:48Speaker 4: really good and it'll fatten you up around here.
- 15:51Speaker 1: That Nashville Chicken.
- 15:52Speaker 3: And maybe you were like, sure, hot chicken, do whatever
- 15:54Speaker 3: with that one. But the Nashville Hot Chicken po boy
- 15:57Speaker 3: is one of the best sandwiches are going to have
- 15:59Speaker 3: on Broadway.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Look at you. Shrimp boil is really good too. I
- 16:03Speaker 4: do like to shrimp too.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I wanted to ask, because you just announced your jewelry
- 16:07Speaker 2: line with Kendra Scott?
- 16:09Speaker 4: Was that today? Right? That was today a thing?
- 16:12Speaker 2: Congratulations on that. So how did that come about? Is
- 16:15Speaker 2: this your first jewelry line?
- 16:17Speaker 4: Yes, this is this is my first jewelry line. I
- 16:20Speaker 4: guess you could say that sounds pretty cool. I've never
- 16:23Speaker 4: said it out loud to right now. I've always been
- 16:26Speaker 4: a fan of Kendrick Scott and then got to meet
- 16:28Speaker 4: her and really just realized that we had a lot
- 16:32Speaker 4: of parallels. I mean, she is, like, she's a go
- 16:34Speaker 4: getter and she just like I get to like tell
- 16:38Speaker 4: a story, she gets to tell a story with her jewelry.
- 16:41Speaker 4: And that's what we did for this. So I'm excited
- 16:43Speaker 4: for all the things are happening right now. It's a lot,
- 16:47Speaker 4: but it's good.
- 16:48Speaker 3: We're gonna give y all an opportunity to take a
- 16:50Speaker 3: picture with lady over here.
- 16:51Speaker 1: But I'm going to corner her with a very tough question.
- 16:55Speaker 3: You have dominated anything you've touched over the last five years.
- 17:00Speaker 3: If today you decided the record, La was like, she's
- 17:03Speaker 3: got to put out two more albums. She can't decide
- 17:04Speaker 3: this today. But let's say today you're like I'm done
- 17:08Speaker 3: with the grind. I'm going to step away. And somebody
- 17:11Speaker 3: asked you, twenty years from now, what is the best
- 17:14Speaker 3: thing that ever happened to Lanny Wilson.
- 17:15Speaker 1: What is it?
- 17:19Speaker 4: Getting inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. That's it. That's it,
- 17:24Speaker 4: Like that's where my parents took me when I was
- 17:27Speaker 4: nine years old. It was around the same time I
- 17:29Speaker 4: wrote my first song, got my first pair of bill bottoms,
- 17:31Speaker 4: my horse, and it was just like a very pivotabal
- 17:34Speaker 4: moment in my life, and I remember thinking, like, I'm
- 17:38Speaker 4: going to be a part of this industry. I just
- 17:40Speaker 4: had this overwhelming feeling, even at nine years old, and
- 17:42Speaker 4: so I always knew I was part of the family.
- 17:45Speaker 4: They didn't know, but I'm glad they finally realized.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, Landy Wilson, Thanks y'all, Thank you,
