- 0:52anything mr air natural yes
- 0:58sir yes sir one thing
- 0:59you'll find is caffeine creatine
- 1:03vitamin D gummies I take in the morning.
- 1:06Protein, caffeine, all the teams.
- 1:11Protein, caffeine, creatine.
- 1:15That's as far as it goes.
- 1:17Dude, that core power,
- 1:20that's some good shit.
- 1:22Yeah.
- 1:25My nutrition coach, shout out, Blair Drum,
- 1:29Miss...
- 1:32Smokey the Blair.
- 1:34Anyway, she's about to have a baby.
- 1:36Not to point.
- 1:38On my rest days, which is today,
- 1:40I'm still supposed to have
- 1:42my protein shake at some
- 1:43point during the day just
- 1:44to make sure I hit my protein numbers.
- 1:48nine days out of ten on my
- 1:50rest days I will forget to
- 1:51make it when I leave the
- 1:52gym in the morning from
- 1:53coaching because I just I
- 1:56don't think about it
- 1:57because I only think about
- 1:58it when I'm so I end up
- 2:00stopping and picking me up
- 2:01one of these because they
- 2:03are delicious and it helps
- 2:05me hit my protein for the
- 2:06day what I find crazy about
- 2:08that just knows of mine um is that
- 2:14Usually,
- 2:15the more protein you add to a shake,
- 2:17the chalkier it kind of gets, right?
- 2:19Just adding more powder
- 2:21usually or whatever.
- 2:23In that Fairlife group,
- 2:26they have a twenty-six gram
- 2:28protein bottle and they
- 2:29have a forty-two gram bottle.
- 2:32The forty-two gram bottle is
- 2:34even creamier and smoother.
- 2:36And it's the same size.
- 2:39How do they do that?
- 2:40What kind of magic power?
- 2:44It's the same size bottle.
- 2:47It blows my mind completely.
- 2:50It's insane.
- 2:54ACR.
- 2:55Good to see you.
- 2:56Miss you.
- 2:58They have a thirty gram
- 2:59Fairlife too online.
- 3:01Yeah,
- 3:01my wife had bought a couple of twelve
- 3:03packs of those that we had.
- 3:06She got the chocolate and
- 3:07the vanilla dozer.
- 3:07I mean, they're all delicious.
- 3:08The Fairlife people have got
- 3:09their stuff together.
- 3:11And they have strawberry.
- 3:11You know, I haven't had the strawberry.
- 3:14I'm a big fan of strawberry milk.
- 3:16It is just like Nesquik strawberry,
- 3:19the pink bunny from my childhood.
- 3:24Oh, man,
- 3:26it just brings back all the good memories,
- 3:28the good feels.
- 3:31uh kaya yeah hi it's funny
- 3:33your lunch show is my after
- 3:34work show at six fifteen
- 3:35over here I always I always
- 3:37wanted to be a dj in
- 3:39evening drive time so now I
- 3:41am there you go yeah it
- 3:44just happens to be the
- 3:44evening drive time is in
- 3:45london it's fine uh larry
- 3:50young uh I found spilt so I
- 3:54might be able to get my protein up
- 3:57I have no idea what that even might mean.
- 4:00Larry, I am on a hundred.
- 4:02Say that again?
- 4:03No, you're not supposed to cry over it.
- 4:05No, that is correct.
- 4:07Larry, I am on,
- 4:09I am at a hundred and
- 4:10eighty-five grams of protein a day.
- 4:14That's a lot, dude.
- 4:16Well,
- 4:17she's got me on basically a gram per
- 4:18body weight, per pound of body weight.
- 4:20And I weigh about one eighty-eight,
- 4:22somewhere up in that area.
- 4:24Cheryl got me hooked on this
- 4:26ghost protein.
- 4:29so you know like ghost the
- 4:30energy drink yeah it's
- 4:32actually a full supplement
- 4:32company I don't know if you
- 4:34knew that or not I did know
- 4:35that I didn't realize they
- 4:36did protein though uh so
- 4:37they do proteins and you
- 4:39can get like nutter butter
- 4:40chips ahoy flavored and
- 4:43it's like dead on dude at
- 4:47legends the uh oh gosh darn it
- 4:54First form people were there,
- 4:55like they sponsored,
- 4:56they were the title sponsor or whatever.
- 4:58And so they had a whole
- 4:59table set up and they would
- 5:00just make you a protein
- 5:01shake when you got off the
- 5:02floor or if you just walked
- 5:03up and asked for one,
- 5:04they would give it away,
- 5:04their sticks and whatnot.
- 5:05They had a salted caramel protein.
- 5:10Oh boy.
- 5:11No, I'm sorry.
- 5:12I'm lying.
- 5:12Salted peanut butter.
- 5:14Oh, wow.
- 5:15And I walked up and I was like, I said,
- 5:18bro, I need something.
- 5:19And he's like,
- 5:19what do you want me to make you?
- 5:20And I said, I have no idea.
- 5:22Like, surprise me.
- 5:23He's like, you like peanut butter?
- 5:25I was like, sure.
- 5:26Like, I'm an adult.
- 5:27Yeah, of course I like peanut butter.
- 5:28Who doesn't?
- 5:29He made me this salted peanut butter.
- 5:35Oh, my God, dude.
- 5:38I walked away, like,
- 5:39smiling like I was a little kid.
- 5:40It's so good.
- 5:48Got all these new buttons on here, man.
- 5:52So I can actually adjust your mic.
- 5:53You were a little bit soft,
- 5:54so I upped you a little bit just here.
- 5:56Okay, turn me up.
- 6:00Spilled has exactly what I need.
- 6:03No, I need them to sponsor an old Joker.
- 6:06Hey,
- 6:06they want to sponsor an old Joker
- 6:08podcast.
- 6:11We got room on the outline there.
- 6:14We wide open.
- 6:15We wide open on the table down below,
- 6:17as the agents say.
- 6:19Bring it up.
- 6:21And we're sponsored by Steak.
- 6:23Yeah.
- 6:24You're laughing, dude.
- 6:25Talking about me being from where I am.
- 6:30This morning in our little
- 6:31group chat for E-Mom Company,
- 6:34Brandon put a picture up.
- 6:35There was an alligator in
- 6:36his neighborhood last night.
- 6:39Luck it.
- 6:41And I don't know exactly where it's at,
- 6:44but I know Brandon lives
- 6:45like in a fairly nice neighborhood.
- 6:46Like he's got a little pond
- 6:47behind his house and whatnot.
- 6:50I was laughing because me
- 6:51and Roy were talking about it.
- 6:52It's the cleanest alligator
- 6:53I've ever seen in my entire life.
- 6:54It looked like somebody washed it.
- 6:57It was just a picture of an
- 6:58alligator in the dark on the street.
- 7:01And I was like,
- 7:01that is the cleanest
- 7:02alligator I've ever seen in
- 7:03my entire life.
- 7:04And Roy said,
- 7:05you are the most Cajun person
- 7:06I've ever heard of because
- 7:07you're the only person I
- 7:08know that would say.
- 7:08I mean, it's nice, but why is it so clean?
- 7:12I'm like, well, dude,
- 7:13I've never seen one that's not covered in
- 7:16mud and duckweed and everything else.
- 7:18It literally looked like somebody was like,
- 7:21wax this thing up before it
- 7:22gets out on the street.
- 7:24When I lived in Tallahassee, Florida,
- 7:27you know that in the colder days,
- 7:29the alligators would come
- 7:30up and lay under the cars to get warm.
- 7:33Yep.
- 7:33And they tell you that you
- 7:35should take a mirror out
- 7:37and check before you get in your car.
- 7:39Cause they were biting the
- 7:41legs and ankles of people
- 7:43getting into their cars.
- 7:45It's, it's a, it's a thing in the South.
- 7:47I, when I told him this morning,
- 7:50I was like, generally speaking,
- 7:51if you leave them alone,
- 7:52they will leave you alone.
- 7:53But if they feel cornered,
- 7:56Or sometimes if they're hungry,
- 7:57they can't one hundred
- 7:58percent get aggressive.
- 7:59So they're sitting
- 7:59underneath your car just
- 8:00trying to get warm and you walk up.
- 8:03They think that that's their place.
- 8:05So, yeah,
- 8:05I would say just take a take a
- 8:08little peek and see.
- 8:12Yes, it probably is.
- 8:13Thank God when I lived down
- 8:14there at a Jeep that was up,
- 8:17it was really easy to look.
- 8:19Yeah.
- 8:22Nobody... You remember when
- 8:24years ago they were talking
- 8:24about people hiding
- 8:25underneath people's cars
- 8:26and cutting their Achilles
- 8:28or whatnot and trying to
- 8:29rob them or whatnot?
- 8:30That's never going to happen
- 8:31to me because I drive a lifted Jeep.
- 8:36I know somebody's underneath there.
- 8:38I really, really miss mine.
- 8:40I wish I had it back.
- 8:42It was a manual transmission.
- 8:45Love that.
- 8:46Man, miss it so much.
- 8:47But...
- 8:49So I just got new tires on mine last week,
- 8:52and it's a six-speed.
- 8:53And I was watching them when they went,
- 8:56because I was waiting to see,
- 8:57because nobody knows how to
- 8:58drive a standard anymore.
- 9:00So I watched one dude walk out to it,
- 9:02open it up, get in it,
- 9:04and I saw him just looking confused,
- 9:06like just looking down like this,
- 9:07like he didn't know what to do.
- 9:09He went back inside, got somebody else.
- 9:11They came out.
- 9:13They pulled it in.
- 9:14They put my tires on and
- 9:16then the dude came out a little while,
- 9:18like right as it was done,
- 9:19he came in the lobby and he's like,
- 9:20Mr. Leonard.
- 9:20I was like, yes, sir.
- 9:21He said, here's your receipt.
- 9:24We got you four new tires.
- 9:26He said, I'm going to be real with you.
- 9:29Nobody here knows how to drive a standard.
- 9:30I'm going to need you to
- 9:31back it out of the garage.
- 9:32And I said, got you, my man.
- 9:36Don't even worry about it.
- 9:39That's insane.
- 9:41Yeah.
- 9:42That's a tire place.
- 9:43Like a discount tire.
- 9:48It's fantastic.
- 9:49Yeah.
- 9:49Well,
- 9:50one of the things I wanted to talk
- 9:51about was, you know,
- 9:53yesterday I was talking
- 9:54about like Dave being the
- 9:56ultimate scapegoat, right?
- 9:59And I kind of was pondering
- 10:00that overnight.
- 10:02And I thought about it like
- 10:05they can't fire Dave.
- 10:08CrossFit can't fire Dave.
- 10:11Because he is taking all the
- 10:15slings and arrows.
- 10:16You remove him from the equation,
- 10:19and it's all on the board and the CEO.
- 10:21He is the most
- 10:25forward-facing person for the games.
- 10:27And I don't think anybody
- 10:28else could have survived...
- 10:33could have survived what
- 10:35Dave has over this year.
- 10:36And that's what made me
- 10:38start pondering like down the road,
- 10:39right?
- 10:40Is why is he still there?
- 10:42Like everybody wants him fired.
- 10:44Everybody's throwing all the blame at him,
- 10:46all the hate at him.
- 10:48And it's because he's
- 10:50protecting everybody else.
- 10:55And because of that,
- 10:55his job security is
- 10:56probably as high as it's ever been.
- 11:00That's actually an interesting point.
- 11:01I like that.
- 11:03If you take him out of the equation,
- 11:05there's nobody to hate but
- 11:08the CEO and the board of directors.
- 11:13It's very, very easy.
- 11:16Like I was talking about yesterday,
- 11:18for people to point fingers and go, well,
- 11:22there's the guy.
- 11:23There's the guy right there.
- 11:24Because he is the forward-facing guy.
- 11:28the games it just is it has
- 11:30been or ever even the one
- 11:32year that boz programmed
- 11:33the games like it was just
- 11:35like oh boz is programming
- 11:36the games but he didn't
- 11:37have and no offense to boz
- 11:40boz is awesome but he
- 11:42doesn't have the
- 11:44necessarily the presence
- 11:46that dave has like if you
- 11:48if you've been following
- 11:49him for a long time like
- 11:51you see dave at the games
- 11:52running around and like do
- 11:53this don't do that do this
- 11:54don't do that blah blah whatever and it's
- 11:57stuff just happened and it's
- 11:58not that saying that boss
- 11:59doesn't that doesn't happen
- 12:00for boss but nobody's ever
- 12:01seen it before like for him
- 12:04to be able to if because
- 12:05I'm and I keep using boss
- 12:06because in my head he said
- 12:07he would be the next person
- 12:08to step up as being
- 12:09programmer for the games
- 12:10etc etc but you don't have
- 12:14twenty years of boss you
- 12:16got twenty years of dave
- 12:17and boss being the head judge so yeah
- 12:22I think you got a valid point there.
- 12:24I don't know if they can't, but if you do,
- 12:27what's going to happen?
- 12:29Right.
- 12:31If you weren't with us
- 12:31yesterday or with me yesterday,
- 12:34it came from Ariel's
- 12:35interview with Siobhan and
- 12:37Ariel blaming Dave for the
- 12:39way it went down at the games,
- 12:41the lack of transparency,
- 12:43the lack of right.
- 12:46And my thought process was like,
- 12:48why is it all?
- 12:49Why is it all?
- 12:51aimed at dave and not the
- 12:54ceo and the board of
- 12:56directors who are probably
- 12:57really running the show and
- 12:59they sent dave out to the
- 13:01lions to be the messenger
- 13:06right and then I thought
- 13:08about it more and I'm like
- 13:09well now they've done such
- 13:10a good job with getting
- 13:12everybody's focus on this
- 13:13guy here that now he cannot
- 13:16be removed from the equation
- 13:19Because if they do,
- 13:20all of that attention now
- 13:21goes up to them.
- 13:27You gave them a shiny new toy.
- 13:29They love their toy.
- 13:32They can beat on it.
- 13:33They can do whatever they want to,
- 13:34and it won't go away.
- 13:36Because if it does,
- 13:38what are you going to replace it with?
- 13:42You got a point, dude.
- 13:42Yeah.
- 13:52So Kaya has a lot here.
- 13:54I think they can and might
- 13:55once CrossFit is sold,
- 13:56depending on the new CEO team.
- 13:58Yeah,
- 13:58all of this is conditional to the
- 14:00current lineup.
- 14:03Right.
- 14:04Once a new team comes in,
- 14:06then it's a fresh start,
- 14:08and they may not need that
- 14:10shield anymore.
- 14:14And then like it or not,
- 14:14there are also negatives attached to him,
- 14:16such as Lazar's death.
- 14:17He doesn't need to be responsible for it,
- 14:19but they may not want to carry that bag.
- 14:22don't disagree I they may
- 14:24want to separate everybody
- 14:26that was involved once they
- 14:29move to a new plan um to
- 14:32just disavow any knowledge
- 14:34of that era it's still
- 14:37there though I mean it
- 14:39happened it's forever it's
- 14:41not going away you know what I mean
- 14:45But I think her thinking is right.
- 14:46I think that there are... If you're a CEO,
- 14:49you're a pretty confident person, right?
- 14:51Or you're a new owner.
- 14:52You're a pretty confident
- 14:53person that you have run
- 14:54businesses successfully and
- 14:56that you can do that moving forward.
- 14:59And I think that is...
- 15:01Definitely a possibility that they would.
- 15:06And even Davis said it on
- 15:07his own week in review.
- 15:09There's no guarantee he has a job,
- 15:11and he's okay with that.
- 15:12He has others who will find
- 15:14up that if that happens, he'll be fine.
- 15:17Yeah, he said that on Pedro.
- 15:18Pedro interviewed him last week.
- 15:22He was flat out about it.
- 15:23He's like,
- 15:23I don't know if I'm going to
- 15:24have a job tomorrow.
- 15:25I'm just going to keep
- 15:26showing up to work until I don't.
- 15:31Train to Live.
- 15:32Ariel's podcast with Savon was great.
- 15:34They were both very open from the convo.
- 15:35It seems like Dave's
- 15:36blessing comments made him the target.
- 15:41It was the blessings and
- 15:42then the Luca treatment.
- 15:45Yeah.
- 15:47That's the part that I can't
- 15:49get the connection to.
- 15:52Dave is not the director of
- 15:53the broadcast team.
- 15:56So him being put on TV has
- 15:59nothing to do with Dave.
- 16:01So to make that leap that
- 16:04it's Dave's fault that that happened,
- 16:07there was a good plan in
- 16:08place by the board of
- 16:09directors and CEO to make
- 16:11him that public face.
- 16:13Again, like you're saying,
- 16:15that's their shield that
- 16:16they're holding up at that point.
- 16:18Right.
- 16:19And, and like,
- 16:20and like you were pointing out yesterday,
- 16:23I promise you, he had no say in that.
- 16:27They told him, look, before this event,
- 16:30we're going to do a tribute to Luca.
- 16:32You need to go out there with all the,
- 16:34everybody that's going to
- 16:34be out there and it's going
- 16:35to last for however long it lasts.
- 16:37And this is what's going to happen.
- 16:38And he was like, okay, moving right along.
- 16:44You're right.
- 16:45He's the face of CrossFit.
- 16:46So they made that connection unfairly,
- 16:48in my opinion.
- 16:49He was a face of the games
- 16:55and he was put there by his boss,
- 16:59the CEO and the board of
- 17:01directors with a directive.
- 17:03With a directive, I am sure.
- 17:05And I said that yesterday too.
- 17:07He was given a directive of
- 17:08what direction they wanted
- 17:09to go in and he had to carry that out.
- 17:13So that probably gets the
- 17:15blessing comment because
- 17:16how do we move forward if I
- 17:18don't convince these
- 17:20athletes to take the floor?
- 17:24But who is the only person
- 17:26from CrossFit to do a
- 17:27public apology for things
- 17:29that happened that day?
- 17:30It was Dave.
- 17:31Yeah, his name is David Castro.
- 17:34He is the only person that
- 17:36actually did a public apology.
- 17:43Lack of funding or lack of a plan.
- 17:48Or having a shitty plan in
- 17:49place or any of that.
- 17:51Haven't seen Berkshire make
- 17:52any comments about the situation.
- 17:55None.
- 17:56None whatsoever.
- 18:02So Dave's a soldier.
- 18:05You know what soldiers do?
- 18:07Carry out the mission.
- 18:08Get your orders.
- 18:10and you execute them.
- 18:12Dave was a Navy SEAL.
- 18:13They trained Navy SEALs.
- 18:15You know how good of a Navy
- 18:15SEAL you have to be to be
- 18:16able to be put in a
- 18:17position to train other Navy SEALs?
- 18:20Which means he executed his
- 18:23orders to levels that we
- 18:25will never know about how high they are.
- 18:27So when you tell him to get something done,
- 18:29you better make damn sure
- 18:30you actually want it done.
- 18:34Does that make sense?
- 18:34Like, don't tell Dave, hey, man,
- 18:37paint this wall blue.
- 18:39And then turn around and go, oh, wait,
- 18:41because he's already got it halfway done.
- 18:45No.
- 18:49Larry Young,
- 18:49I'll be glad when it's done
- 18:50and we know the new direction.
- 18:52I don't disagree with you.
- 18:53As I said yesterday,
- 18:55I'm not trying to go back,
- 18:56but what's happened is that
- 18:58the athletes are upset.
- 19:00They're upset at the media.
- 19:01They're upset at the
- 19:02narrative that's being said about them.
- 19:04They want to be a professional sport,
- 19:06and now all these
- 19:06alternatives are coming out,
- 19:08like the WFP and like
- 19:10Metfix and all these things, right?
- 19:13Well, through that whole process,
- 19:16there are three...
- 19:19Okay,
- 19:19four podcasts that interview athletes
- 19:25where you can see regularly
- 19:26scheduled interviews.
- 19:28And generally, before last year,
- 19:30it was Coffee Pods and Wads, Savan,
- 19:33Talking Elite Fitness, and us.
- 19:39All of us have taken a step
- 19:40back from interviewing
- 19:42athletes regularly.
- 19:44since the games because it
- 19:46created a rift right and
- 19:49now for the first time
- 19:51we're we're all kind of
- 19:52picking up the pace a
- 19:53little bit on that so
- 19:55you're hearing people's
- 19:56comments for the first time
- 19:58since the games and now
- 20:01it's opening all this up
- 20:04and I want that opening up
- 20:06to be a resolution that we
- 20:09can come to or an agreement
- 20:11maybe not everybody's happy
- 20:12at the end of the day but
- 20:14it's a resolution where we
- 20:15can move forward but you're
- 20:18never going to make
- 20:18everybody happy didn't say
- 20:20we'd I that's why I don't
- 20:22care if we're all happy
- 20:23yeah I just I'm good no I'm
- 20:25agreeing with you on that
- 20:25one like you're never going
- 20:26to make everybody happy and
- 20:27the people who are going to
- 20:28be mad they're going to be
- 20:29mad regardless of what you tell them
- 20:32In my opinion,
- 20:32that's how it dealing with
- 20:33public and various people
- 20:35in my job and in my daily life,
- 20:38the people who choose to be
- 20:39upset about whatever it is
- 20:42are going to be upset.
- 20:43And it doesn't matter if
- 20:45they get their way or if
- 20:46they don't get their way.
- 20:47They're going to be walking
- 20:48around with a booty on
- 20:49their face regardless.
- 20:53Right.
- 20:54Because just because they're
- 20:55choosing to be upset.
- 20:57Just with yesterday with
- 20:59Ariel and Monday with Fee,
- 21:01we've learned that there
- 21:02are two misconceptions already.
- 21:07Fee didn't know what the
- 21:08letter actually said that
- 21:10she signed because she
- 21:12thought Dave could stay on
- 21:13and program the games and
- 21:14everything was going to be
- 21:16fine and dandy there.
- 21:17She just didn't want him in
- 21:18charge of safety.
- 21:18Right.
- 21:20But that's not what the
- 21:20letter said demanding his firing.
- 21:22I don't know.
- 21:25And Ariel said that she was
- 21:27mad that Dave allowed them
- 21:29to parade Luca out and show him on TV.
- 21:32How the hell could he control that?
- 21:35Yeah.
- 21:36He has no control over that whatsoever.
- 21:37Right.
- 21:39So there's all these
- 21:40misconceptions and we don't
- 21:41even know what they are
- 21:42because we haven't been
- 21:43speaking to the athletes.
- 21:47And if I'm going to be blunt,
- 21:49talking elite fitness would
- 21:50never dive to this level to
- 21:52even find out what their
- 21:53thoughts and feelings were.
- 21:56No,
- 21:56they're still asking athletes what
- 21:57their favorite color is and how much,
- 22:01what's a day you're eating
- 22:03like and how long you've
- 22:05been training for the game.
- 22:06I'm not getting into that.
- 22:11So what I'm hoping is,
- 22:13is that now that we're talking,
- 22:16we can get through some of
- 22:18these misconceptions and
- 22:20come to an agreement that
- 22:22with the reality of what
- 22:24exists and move forward?
- 22:30I think there's a whole lot of,
- 22:33like you were saying,
- 22:35if he thought one thing was going on,
- 22:38was upset about one thing,
- 22:39thought she was signing
- 22:41something that was totally
- 22:42not what it was.
- 22:44Ariel was basically in the
- 22:46same type of boat, right?
- 22:47She just was mad about
- 22:48something that she thought
- 22:50somebody had control over
- 22:51that they didn't.
- 22:52I feel like there's a lot of
- 22:53that out there in the
- 22:54people who are upset
- 22:56because they have this one
- 22:57perception in their mind
- 22:59And it's either right, wrong,
- 23:01or indifferent.
- 23:02That's what they're running with, right?
- 23:03Perception is reality.
- 23:04Whatever you perceive,
- 23:05that's what you're thinking.
- 23:07That's where you're laying out.
- 23:09And without any kind of clarification,
- 23:11like you said,
- 23:12because it's just starting
- 23:14to pick up where people are
- 23:15starting to interview athletes again.
- 23:16You are starting to
- 23:17interview athletes again.
- 23:19Pedro has been here, there, and yonder,
- 23:21but not a whole heck of a lot, right?
- 23:23Most of what he's been doing
- 23:24has been around the
- 23:25whiteboard show and
- 23:27interviewing this person,
- 23:29this person here, blah, blah, whatever.
- 23:33Savan has just started
- 23:35interviewing actual
- 23:36athletes again in that capacity.
- 23:38Might have had him on the
- 23:39bullshit for a little while,
- 23:40but actually what he was
- 23:42doing with Fee and with
- 23:44Ariel and asking in-depth questions,
- 23:47that hasn't happened.
- 23:49So there's a lot of misinformation,
- 23:54miscommunication, mis-whatever,
- 23:57perceived realities in
- 23:58people's heads that may not
- 24:00be exactly what happened.
- 24:02And without them all being
- 24:03able to get together and talk about it,
- 24:04or at least be able to put
- 24:05their stories out where
- 24:06other people can go look and go, oh shit,
- 24:08is that actually what happened?
- 24:11Nobody's ever gonna know.
- 24:12And like you were saying,
- 24:14that's the only way you're
- 24:15gonna be able to get
- 24:15resolution is if
- 24:16everybody's on the same page.
- 24:19right wrong or indifferent
- 24:22yeah I left out be friendly
- 24:26too they're doing they're
- 24:27they've been interviewing
- 24:28people but I'm not sure
- 24:30they're getting to the root
- 24:31of this issue either um so
- 24:37that being said uh I knew
- 24:39so when you talk live you
- 24:41always omit things and when
- 24:42you're not thinking
- 24:45I just wanted to,
- 24:46because I thought about that,
- 24:47that it's impossible for
- 24:49them to remove Dave until there's a sale.
- 24:52And so we'll just end on that.
- 24:58I agree with that.
- 25:02The other thing I wanted to
- 25:03talk about is this idea
- 25:07of... Spin talked about it last night,
- 25:10about what is the role of
- 25:12media in CrossFit.
- 25:14Because I think that like
- 25:16the perception from the
- 25:18athletes and their camps
- 25:20are definitely one thing.
- 25:21And what we as media people
- 25:24are trying to do is another.
- 25:31And it goes back to this
- 25:32like definition of professional.
- 25:34Like, is this a professional sport or not?
- 25:37Because if you want it to be,
- 25:38and we're striving to get that,
- 25:41the conversations are going
- 25:42to be from the media,
- 25:44everything that goes on in the space.
- 25:48We're trying to, like,
- 25:50I now have a daily show.
- 25:51I've got to fill forty-five
- 25:53minutes a day with content.
- 25:55You've got to find the stuff
- 25:56that's out there.
- 25:57You've got to have the
- 25:57discussions that are out there.
- 26:00And
- 26:03Because it's growing and
- 26:04there's more options for this,
- 26:07as an athlete or an agent,
- 26:08you have less control over
- 26:09what's going on.
- 26:13Back when all you had was
- 26:13Talking Elite Fitness,
- 26:17it was a lot easier to control the story.
- 26:20Yeah.
- 26:23My athlete's not coming on
- 26:24your show unless you ask
- 26:25them these questions.
- 26:28Right.
- 26:29So you had Talking Elite
- 26:29Fitness and you had Armin.
- 26:32Yeah.
- 26:32The two,
- 26:33one from each side of the spectrum.
- 26:36And so you either got the
- 26:38inside edition Armin or you
- 26:40got the NBC nightly news
- 26:43talking to Lee Fitness.
- 26:48I love that.
- 26:49No, I love that.
- 26:50I love that.
- 26:51That is, that is accurate, accurate,
- 26:52accurate.
- 26:53Like Armin reporting
- 26:56whatever at that point,
- 26:58which Armin should find
- 26:59whatever he wanted to.
- 27:01Yes.
- 27:02Armin's show was fun because
- 27:03he would come on and just ask questions,
- 27:06say random wild stuff that
- 27:08may or may not be
- 27:09substantiated and then cut
- 27:10it off and we'll do it again soon.
- 27:14Yeah.
- 27:16I mean,
- 27:16I listened to Armin every time he
- 27:19was on because that's all we had.
- 27:21That's all we had that had a
- 27:24different take than
- 27:26straight down the fairway.
- 27:28his uh was it scale as
- 27:30needed podcast yeah was
- 27:34absolutely hilarious for
- 27:36being especially but that
- 27:37was back before anybody
- 27:38went live dude but they'd
- 27:39just as soon be live but
- 27:40they just put themselves on
- 27:41it it was a cool picture of
- 27:44adhd say it again it was a
- 27:47living moving picture of
- 27:48adhd yes yes it was so good
- 27:55So with all that,
- 27:56now that there's more
- 27:57options and people trying to fill space,
- 28:00you're going to report on
- 28:01everything you see because
- 28:02you're trying to fill your time slot,
- 28:05for lack of a better term, right?
- 28:06No, it's a twenty-four-hour news cycle.
- 28:10The same thing as when CNN went live,
- 28:12what was that, the late seventies?
- 28:13And they were there, but hey,
- 28:14we're going to go live
- 28:15twenty-four hours a day.
- 28:16How are you going to fill up
- 28:17news from twenty-four hours a day?
- 28:18We'll figure it out.
- 28:22Four hours of news.
- 28:24Two hours of that.
- 28:28If you want to be in the spotlight,
- 28:31it's there sometimes when
- 28:32you don't want it.
- 28:35I miss Armin.
- 28:37Here's the thing, dude.
- 28:39If you're going to be out
- 28:41there and look at, I know we've said this,
- 28:44we've beaten this horse.
- 28:45It is so dead,
- 28:46but look at any other professional sport.
- 28:51If you want to be an actor,
- 28:52look at the NBA.
- 28:54Look at baseball.
- 28:55Look at whoever.
- 28:56Whatever any one of them does,
- 28:59it ends up on the news.
- 29:01If you do something,
- 29:03if you insult a reporter, well...
- 29:07whoever insulted this
- 29:09reporter or whatever.
- 29:11And God forbid you get to be
- 29:12good because those are
- 29:13people that are just like
- 29:14average NBA players or
- 29:16average baseball players,
- 29:17average football players
- 29:19can do something kind of
- 29:20crazy and end up on
- 29:22SportsCenter or end up on
- 29:23the news if it gets bad enough.
- 29:25God forbid you are Tiger
- 29:27Woods or somebody at the
- 29:31pinnacle of their story.
- 29:35LeBron's hairline has moved forward.
- 29:38How did that happen?
- 29:39How did that happen?
- 29:40Did he go to Turkey?
- 29:40Did LeBron get a hair transplant?
- 29:42Yeah.
- 29:43That made news.
- 29:46That's what I'm getting at, dude.
- 29:50Oh, we wanted to be professional.
- 29:51Well,
- 29:52this is what comes with professional.
- 29:53Yeah.
- 29:56Have y'all never turned on
- 29:57SportsCenter in the morning for an hour?
- 29:59Just watch SportsCenter for an hour.
- 30:02You're going to get highlights.
- 30:04from yesterday's games,
- 30:05whatever was going on,
- 30:06and then you're going to
- 30:07get news and gossip,
- 30:09actual news and people
- 30:11talking about something
- 30:11that might happen.
- 30:14And God forbid somebody did
- 30:15something stupid,
- 30:15somebody got a speeding ticket,
- 30:17somebody got a DUI,
- 30:18somebody was drunk in public.
- 30:21It's going to end up on the news.
- 30:24And it's the same thing if
- 30:26you want to consider
- 30:26yourself to be a professional athlete,
- 30:29you are going to be put in
- 30:30the spotlight and under a
- 30:31microscope and everything
- 30:33you're going to do is going
- 30:34to be analyzed.
- 30:36Every time I hear drunken public,
- 30:38all I can think about is Ron White.
- 30:39Ron White, yep.
- 30:41I was drunk in a car until
- 30:45you threw me through the window.
- 30:47Now I'm drunk in public.
- 30:50They threw me into public.
- 30:58I wanted to be back drunk in a bar.
- 31:02My favorite part of that bit
- 31:03is when he said,
- 31:04I don't know how many of
- 31:05them it was going to take
- 31:07for them to whip my ass,
- 31:09but I knew how many they were using.
- 31:18Vicky,
- 31:18third-party media isn't here to be
- 31:20hype people for athletes.
- 31:22They're here to chat about
- 31:22what is happening.
- 31:24The Camps Media Team, etc.
- 31:25are their hype media people simple.
- 31:28There you go.
- 31:29True statement right there.
- 31:31True statement.
- 31:34Next questions related to
- 31:36what they're doing.
- 31:37Get an actual story.
- 31:39Move on.
- 31:40You're not here to be rah rah sis boomba.
- 31:45I haven't got your take on this.
- 31:49Your friend, Traint Olive,
- 31:52asked the question,
- 31:53since I left Siobhan to come here,
- 31:55how do you feel about
- 31:55Taylor's four-year ban,
- 31:56which according to him,
- 31:58he found out about from Spin,
- 32:00is rich next?
- 32:02That's a lot of questions, first of all,
- 32:04Traint Olive.
- 32:05I have several questions.
- 32:07First of all, thank you for coming here.
- 32:09Even though Siobhan was
- 32:10telling everybody that he
- 32:11was fixing to come here.
- 32:13Taylor knew what was happening.
- 32:15He's been talking about it
- 32:17since the open when he
- 32:18said... The one part that I do agree with,
- 32:21he asked them a question,
- 32:23they did not answer the question,
- 32:26and then slapped him with the ban.
- 32:28Yeah.
- 32:30And he did find out from Spin,
- 32:31not from an email from them.
- 32:33Which is...
- 32:35crazy town banana pants
- 32:38here's what I don't
- 32:39understand they did the
- 32:40same thing to hillary I
- 32:42could come on here right
- 32:43now and say oh I'm using
- 32:47whatever right make a
- 32:49public statement I'm not
- 32:51but they didn't actually
- 32:53test him they're banning
- 32:56him for four years which
- 32:57he's perfectly fine but
- 32:58he's done competing he said
- 32:59that a million times he
- 33:00said it again this morning
- 33:07But they didn't actually test him.
- 33:08They didn't actually test
- 33:09Hiller when they gave him
- 33:11his four-year ban.
- 33:12Now, he was openly saying, yep,
- 33:15I'm doing all these
- 33:16experiments on myself with PEDs, blah,
- 33:18blah, blah, whatever, and that's fine.
- 33:21But you could be lying out of your ass,
- 33:23and they're just going to
- 33:24ban you with no testing whatsoever?
- 33:27And out of competition?
- 33:29Because Hiller hadn't signed up.
- 33:30Well,
- 33:31he did sign up with Open under a
- 33:32different name, but
- 33:37The last time Taylor was
- 33:43competing was for the Open,
- 33:45or whenever he was at semifinals,
- 33:46was that two years ago,
- 33:47something like that?
- 33:47He hadn't been able to squat
- 33:48since then because his
- 33:49knees are jacked up.
- 33:52So that part I'm kind of,
- 33:56and as far as Rich is concerned,
- 33:58Rich is taking the exact
- 33:58same thing for the exact same reason,
- 34:00because his knees are all
- 34:01jacked up and he's trying
- 34:02to get some mobility back in it.
- 34:06So if, and I love me some Rich Fronin,
- 34:12but if it's good for Taylor South,
- 34:15it should be good for Rich
- 34:15Fronin as well.
- 34:16And he's not going to care because, again,
- 34:18he's not competing anymore.
- 34:20So, yeah,
- 34:21ban him if that's on the banned
- 34:22substances list.
- 34:25So Kaya says, according to their rules,
- 34:28they don't need to test if
- 34:29people are confessing themselves.
- 34:32But if the person that said
- 34:34it is asking for a
- 34:35conversation to be had about it,
- 34:39that doesn't cost anything
- 34:41because Lana is saying
- 34:42testing is expensive.
- 34:44All he was asking for was a
- 34:45back and forth conversation
- 34:47to discuss it before the
- 34:49final determination was made.
- 34:52And essentially CrossFit ghosted him
- 34:56And then gave him a ban
- 34:57because the appeal date came and went.
- 35:01And did not voice that to
- 35:03him after they made the final decision.
- 35:07And Spin found it on a post
- 35:10on the website and listed
- 35:14it out to the world.
- 35:16If I'm guessing...
- 35:18Knowing Taylor,
- 35:19he just wanted to have a
- 35:20conversation saying, hey, look,
- 35:22I know I'm on this athlete council,
- 35:25president of this athlete council.
- 35:28Just wanted to let y'all know, yes,
- 35:30I'm taking this stuff for my knee.
- 35:32I have no desire, urge, whatever.
- 35:35I'm not trying to beat a
- 35:36fist on earth anymore.
- 35:38I'm doing CrossFit for health, longevity,
- 35:41all this stuff, but I can't squat.
- 35:43And that is the basis of everything we do.
- 35:47is a squat and I can't squat
- 35:48because of my knee.
- 35:49So I'm trying to get my knee better.
- 35:52Knowing Taylor,
- 35:52that's the conversation he
- 35:53wanted to have.
- 35:55Like just to make sure
- 35:56everything was out there
- 35:57and transparent and, and, and,
- 35:58and they just, they just ghosted him,
- 36:02which is mind blowing to me.
- 36:05Yeah.
- 36:06I think that's the piece that,
- 36:08that I have a problem with.
- 36:10He was just asking for a conversation.
- 36:13doesn't cost them anything
- 36:15they they started the
- 36:18conversation he wanted to
- 36:19continue the conversation
- 36:21then they didn't respond
- 36:23that's the part I have a
- 36:24problem with I don't know
- 36:30but I don't I yeah that
- 36:34yeah I don't know we'll see
- 36:36what happens in the future
- 36:39I do think it's also fair
- 36:40that everybody's asking okay well
- 36:43Rich has said the same thing.
- 36:47And if it's good for Taylor's self,
- 36:48and Rich is beloved by the community,
- 36:52and absolutely, everybody loves Rich.
- 36:55I love Rich.
- 36:55He's fucking awesome.
- 36:56One time I met him in person.
- 36:57He was a great human being.
- 36:59And nothing has changed my
- 37:00mind about that.
- 37:01I've seen nothing to the contrary of that.
- 37:03So he's also taking it to
- 37:05try to fix his knee.
- 37:06So is he next up?
- 37:09Was his name on the same list?
- 37:10Because I feel like that's
- 37:10going to be a lot bigger
- 37:11news than Taylor's stuff.
- 37:12I think that's where the
- 37:13shadiness comes in on all this.
- 37:15It is that the reason that
- 37:18Taylor got found out is
- 37:19someone reported him for stating it.
- 37:22Right?
- 37:23That's how their drug
- 37:23testing works a lot of time
- 37:25is someone reports the
- 37:27thought that someone is not
- 37:32in compliance with...
- 37:34Kale Lehman situation, same thing, right?
- 37:36They didn't act until
- 37:37someone formally reported him.
- 37:40They didn't notice it on their own.
- 37:44So is someone going to have
- 37:45to willingly report Rich
- 37:49for making the same
- 37:50statement for them to start
- 37:51the investigation?
- 37:53Because he has said it, I think,
- 37:54even more openly than
- 37:56Taylor has from what I've
- 37:59heard in his podcasts.
- 38:02And yet Taylor is way ahead
- 38:05in this process than Rich is.
- 38:07Yeah.
- 38:12So I think that's the problem.
- 38:13Someone has said,
- 38:15went to CrossFit and said, hey,
- 38:17Taylor self-admitted it.
- 38:18He needs to be banned.
- 38:22And nobody has done that to Rich yet,
- 38:24or we have not seen that yet.
- 38:27Because now it's coming out that why isn't
- 38:31so in upon in on with that
- 38:35line of thinking as much as
- 38:37rich is beloved by
- 38:38everybody in the community
- 38:40he also has probably the
- 38:42same amount of haters so
- 38:45like it's coming right
- 38:48somebody's going to figure
- 38:49that out same amount of
- 38:51haters to his fans not
- 38:54guaranteed haters as taylor
- 38:59That's probably fair.
- 39:01That's probably fair.
- 39:04Taylor's a special case, dude.
- 39:06I know people, I've worked with people,
- 39:07I've been around people
- 39:08with the same kind of,
- 39:10I'm just going to mess with
- 39:11everybody in the room type
- 39:12attitude that Taylor does,
- 39:13and I know how to take it.
- 39:14I love Taylor for that
- 39:16because he talks to me, not to me,
- 39:18but he talks to people like
- 39:19I talk to my friends.
- 39:24Okay, fair.
- 39:24And
- 39:31Do we know for sure if
- 39:32Taylor has or has not been reported?
- 39:35I believe that Taylor stated
- 39:37that it was reported that
- 39:38he made this statement.
- 39:40And that's why he got the
- 39:43initial email saying he had
- 39:45so many days to appeal that.
- 39:52And I think that's what
- 39:53initiates out of season drug testing,
- 39:56unless you're on a certain list.
- 39:58If it comes out of the blue,
- 40:00then it is from a report.
- 40:10And I know that like in
- 40:11Dave's Week in Review,
- 40:12the whole Kale Layman situation,
- 40:15Dave said we can't act on
- 40:17that until someone reports it to us.
- 40:20then the next week he got
- 40:24the report and they started
- 40:25their investigation which
- 40:27ended up going nowhere but
- 40:28there we are I don't want
- 40:31to talk about that that
- 40:32part still blows my mind so
- 40:36you mean to tell me I could
- 40:38have finished fifth in the
- 40:38open and went did an
- 40:42in-person semi-final I got
- 40:45invited to an in-person
- 40:46semi-final at forty years
- 40:47old with no videos
- 40:50And nobody found anything.
- 40:53Apparently not.
- 41:01I do want to,
- 41:01I do want to bring up one
- 41:03positive thing before we get off the air.
- 41:05Yes, please.
- 41:07So, um, you know,
- 41:11our girl Carolyn Prevo is
- 41:13going to the games.
- 41:15Masters athlete going to
- 41:17both the Masters games and
- 41:20the elite games.
- 41:22Phenomenal.
- 41:24Yes.
- 41:25Super excited.
- 41:26Well, because of that,
- 41:26she's now an athlete.
- 41:28She received an email
- 41:29yesterday from the head of
- 41:31the safety council.
- 41:35It was awesome.
- 41:38So kudos to CrossFit.
- 41:43They were notified.
- 41:45that the run, row,
- 41:47run is the only outdoor
- 41:48event at this year's CrossFit Games.
- 41:52They were also given tips on
- 41:54heat acclimation for that run, row, run,
- 41:58where there will be the row,
- 42:02you are exposed, there's no shade.
- 42:04You need to adapt to that.
- 42:07Parts of the run will be shaded.
- 42:09And then...
- 42:12In addition to that,
- 42:13here's a list of
- 42:14medications that can affect
- 42:15heat intolerance.
- 42:22That's new.
- 42:24Like a very,
- 42:25very in-depth letter to the
- 42:28athletes preparing them
- 42:31three weeks before the
- 42:32games of the heat issues
- 42:34that could come from the run, row, run.
- 42:37How hot is it in Albany in August?
- 42:40According to the letter,
- 42:42the standard temperature is
- 42:44like eighty four degrees Fahrenheit,
- 42:47but can rise to
- 42:49temperatures as high as
- 42:50ninety five degrees.
- 42:57What's the humidity like?
- 42:59It's humid, man.
- 43:02Or humid.
- 43:03Well, we're not like by you humid to say,
- 43:06is it though?
- 43:10But yeah,
- 43:10the Midwest can get pretty humid
- 43:11in the summer.
- 43:13All right.
- 43:16Well, you know what?
- 43:17Good on them.
- 43:17Good on the safety council
- 43:19for getting ahead of it and just saying,
- 43:21hey, look,
- 43:21this is the only one y'all
- 43:21going to be outside for.
- 43:24Here's how hot it's probably going to be.
- 43:25You're going to be in the sun for this.
- 43:27You might want a hat, whatever,
- 43:29like keep much of the sun
- 43:30off of you and whatnot.
- 43:32We'll have water stations.
- 43:35Any thoughts on them?
- 43:37yep just a few just a few
- 43:41they actually say that um
- 43:44uh there will be water
- 43:45stations at each mile post
- 43:49good um and there will be
- 43:52cool towels available there
- 43:53will be like they list a
- 43:55bunch of things that will
- 43:56be available to them or
- 43:58what they might bring
- 43:59awesome exactly trained
- 44:02olive a little effort goes a long way
- 44:06Why couldn't this have been
- 44:07done from the beginning?
- 44:08But great job on it.
- 44:09Yeah.
- 44:10Again,
- 44:11not going back and looking at the past.
- 44:13Really cool letter that came
- 44:14from the Safety Council.
- 44:16Yeah.
- 44:20And he didn't leave names to
- 44:22contact if there's
- 44:23questions further about
- 44:26anything that would be
- 44:27going on in those events.
- 44:29So...
- 44:32They always say the NFL is the,
- 44:35what have you done for me lately, Lee,
- 44:37right?
- 44:37When it comes to players and whatnot.
- 44:40This is a what have you done
- 44:41for me lately situation right now.
- 44:44Hey, we're getting ahead of it.
- 44:46It's going to be hot.
- 44:47Here's a whole list of stuff.
- 44:50If you're on any medications,
- 44:51you might not want to be by
- 44:52the time you get out there.
- 44:54Here's an idea to be able to train for,
- 44:56get acclimated to hot
- 44:57weather if you're not from
- 44:58somewhere where it's hot, et cetera,
- 45:00et cetera.
- 45:01So good on them.
- 45:02Good on them.
- 45:03Positive change.
- 45:04I'm with you.
- 45:07Acknowledge what happened
- 45:09and we need to move on.
- 45:10You can't keep harping back
- 45:12on it because you can't
- 45:12change what happened.
- 45:14Well,
- 45:14and if you listen to Ariel's
- 45:16interview with Siobhan yesterday,
- 45:17her concern was, is it going to be safe?
- 45:19Are they going to share
- 45:20information with us?
- 45:22And then that came an hour
- 45:26after that interview ended.
- 45:30And they couldn't have put
- 45:30it out in an hour.
- 45:32It was too much information.
- 45:34Watching Ariel type at the same time.
- 45:38Oh, shit.
- 45:38Ariel saying this.
- 45:39We need to get this done now.
- 45:42You could tell it was done
- 45:43well before that.
- 45:46Good.
- 45:46But kudos to him because that is.
- 45:48Hey, more power to him.
- 45:50Yeah.
- 45:51More power to him.
- 45:53I did find it a bit humorous
- 45:55that Ariel trusts rich and Katie.
- 45:58So she trusts the safety
- 46:00council a little bit more.
- 46:03The,
- 46:03the legit qualifications of the people
- 46:09on that safety board are insane.
- 46:12Yeah.
- 46:13Like just because those two,
- 46:16we know what they put
- 46:18together was pretty freaking cool.
- 46:22And it's a simple thing to do.
- 46:25Yeah.
- 46:27It is a very, very simple thing to do.
- 46:29Hey, here's a, here's a, look,
- 46:31it's going to be hot.
- 46:33Here's a good way to,
- 46:34what's a good way to train for heat.
- 46:35Let's talk to these three people.
- 46:36All right.
- 46:37Write down some stuff, put it together,
- 46:39format an email, send it, look, send.
- 46:44To put in average temperature,
- 46:45put in upper limits of temperature,
- 46:47to put in where there's shade,
- 46:49where there's not shade,
- 46:50where there'll be water,
- 46:51where there won't be water.
- 46:53Like all of that is in there now.
- 46:55Covering the bases.
- 46:57And none of it takes away from that test.
- 47:03None of that has to take
- 47:04away from that test.
- 47:05Like knowing where the water
- 47:08stations are doesn't take
- 47:09away from that test.
- 47:12You know what I mean?
- 47:13Everybody who's screaming
- 47:15about unknown and unknowable,
- 47:19none of this stuff known
- 47:21changes that test.
- 47:29It said somebody had to die
- 47:30for them to finally do it.
- 47:34Okay.
- 47:35But a lot of change happens
- 47:38because of tragedy.
- 47:42In real life, not just sport.
- 47:46Real life,
- 47:47it usually is a combination of
- 47:49nothing changes if nothing changes.
- 47:52It is a very much if it ain't broke,
- 47:54don't fix it type deal.
- 47:58Nothing happened at the games for.
- 48:02Seventeen years before something did.
- 48:04Yeah.
- 48:07but like rich fell from the
- 48:09rope and now there's a big
- 48:11pad at the bottom of the ropes, right?
- 48:14Like it doesn't always have
- 48:16to be a death that changes it.
- 48:19We're inventing the airplane.
- 48:21How many people got hurt or
- 48:22died before they figured
- 48:23out the right way to make the wings?
- 48:27You know what I mean?
- 48:29Pat and Matt both fell off the cargo net.
- 48:31We have not had an obstacle
- 48:33course race since then.
- 48:36Such a shame.
- 48:38That was so much fun to watch.
- 48:44Sounds like the moms on our
- 48:45son's all-star team
- 48:47freaking out about kids
- 48:48playing baseball in the heat.
- 48:49Just be smart.
- 48:50It's not rocket science.
- 48:52It's really not.
- 48:55It's really, really not.
- 48:56Just being,
- 48:57knowing that you're going to be
- 48:58outside in the summertime.
- 49:01Well, it's probably going to be hot.
- 49:03Water stations and shade
- 49:05don't need to be unknowable.
- 49:09Yeah.
- 49:10I mean, we could say that.
- 49:11We could say, like,
- 49:13all this stuff is common sense,
- 49:16but I'm glad they didn't
- 49:17leave it up to common sense.
- 49:19Put it in writing.
- 49:20Say what they're going to be faced with.
- 49:23It's a warning sign, Scott.
- 49:25It's just like the thing on
- 49:27the hairdryers is do not use in the tub.
- 49:29Right.
- 49:31This Superman Halloween
- 49:32costume will not give you
- 49:34the ability to fly.
- 49:36Sorry.
- 49:40Speaking of, Superman came out today.
- 49:44Unofficially.
- 49:47It really doesn't come out
- 49:47until the eleventh.
- 49:49But you can get special
- 49:51tickets off of Amazon today.
- 49:53It's available at the
- 49:54theater by my house right now.
- 49:58Like, if I wanted to go,
- 49:59I'd have to leave.
- 50:00I've heard it actually has
- 50:01gotten great reviews.
- 50:02Yes.
- 50:04Yes.
- 50:05I'm a huge Superman geek.
- 50:10like all the way through and
- 50:11through been that way since
- 50:13Jesus was a baby.
- 50:14Superman used to be my favorite hero.
- 50:16And then I got bored with him.
- 50:20Which is the ultimate boy scout, dude.
- 50:21Like he can't, doesn't lose.
- 50:23Well, yeah, he's like, he's bulletproof.
- 50:28He can fly.
- 50:28He's fast.
- 50:30Like he's got all the shit.
- 50:33Like I,
- 50:35I started leaning more towards
- 50:36Batman and,
- 50:38because it's just a dude
- 50:40who's smart and has some
- 50:42really cool toys.
- 50:45And some serious mental health issues.
- 50:51I just like Superman because
- 50:53you have to scale up to be
- 50:54able to give him some sort
- 50:55of challenge or whatnot.
- 50:56But from what I've seen of a
- 50:58lot of videos about how
- 51:02this one's going to be done
- 51:04and it's a lot more him
- 51:06like the human side of him,
- 51:08like him being a dude like that.
- 51:11I heard the love stories
- 51:12like excellent and the
- 51:15chemistry between him and
- 51:16Lois Lane is off the charts.
- 51:18I can't wait.
- 51:19I'm super, super pumped.
- 51:21super fun I watched oh so
- 51:23when I was a kid like from
- 51:25one all the way through the
- 51:26quest for peace which was
- 51:27garbage but I watched it
- 51:28anyway um and then the
- 51:32brandon ralph emo superman
- 51:33smallville like comics the
- 51:36whole nine yards chances
- 51:37better not if you got a
- 51:39question I could probably
- 51:40answer yeah the brandon
- 51:40ralph one went very
- 51:41underrated that was
- 51:42actually a pretty good
- 51:43movie it was all right dude I was
- 51:47It was good up until I was like, oh,
- 51:49he's just going to win by
- 51:50picking up this big rock
- 51:51and throwing it out into space.
- 51:53Got it.
- 51:53Ten-four.
- 51:58Lito.
- 51:59Lito missed Mr. Two Favorite Men.
- 52:05Anyway.
- 52:08Yeah,
- 52:08and then the Richard Pryor one was
- 52:11just... That would be Superman III.
- 52:14God-awful.
- 52:16We had drunk Superman,
- 52:18all the red kryptonite.
- 52:19It was an interesting choice.
- 52:24Well, I want to finish up with this.
- 52:25I have other stuff on my notebook,
- 52:27but I'll do that tomorrow.
- 52:28Like the WFP qualifiers were done.
- 52:32Very interesting because the women's field,
- 52:35very deep for the qualifiers this time.
- 52:38Men's, meh.
- 52:39Yeah.
- 52:39Yeah.
- 52:42But the last thing I want to end with is,
- 52:44like,
- 52:45I was listening to a podcast with
- 52:46Ben Roethlisberger talking about, like,
- 52:50his kids are fans of the
- 52:52Steelers now and that every
- 52:54year for Christmas they get
- 52:55jerseys and that he doesn't
- 53:02allow his kids to buy any
- 53:04jerseys from any other AFC North team.
- 53:08Like, no Jamar Chase, no Joe Burrow.
- 53:11right right but they always
- 53:14get sealer jerseys every
- 53:15year and he was like last
- 53:18year for christmas they got
- 53:20four jerseys rough steelers
- 53:22and each kid got two three
- 53:25of the four are gone from
- 53:26the team from christmas to
- 53:30now damn gone from the team
- 53:34And I'm like, it's tough.
- 53:36Like when I was a kid,
- 53:38like you could have one
- 53:38player and that player be
- 53:40with the team like for five, six, seven,
- 53:43eight years.
- 53:45And now like you can get
- 53:48cheap jerseys at Ross Dress
- 53:49for Less because they've
- 53:51been traded three times
- 53:52since they made the jersey.
- 53:53Unless it's a franchise
- 53:55quarterback or like, you know,
- 53:59the captain of the defense.
- 54:01maybe if you got like a wide receiver,
- 54:04it was like a franchise wide receiver.
- 54:05Other than that, dude,
- 54:06everybody else is fair game.
- 54:07Yeah.
- 54:10Uh, Vicky,
- 54:11the new quarterback doc is
- 54:12available on Netflix.
- 54:13I know dying to start it,
- 54:15but I needed this sinus.
- 54:17My eye was seeping so bad yesterday.
- 54:19I just like late in bed.
- 54:21It's miserable.
- 54:23Um, you know,
- 54:25have you talked about the new
- 54:26apparel sponsor for masters this year?
- 54:29I did.
- 54:29Was it official?
- 54:30Uh,
- 54:30Yeah, they just put something out earlier.
- 54:34I just saw it.
- 54:37It's on Legends page.
- 54:41I literally saw it right
- 54:42before I leaned in.
- 54:44I had heard rumor,
- 54:46but now I don't think it is
- 54:48because of the way you're talking.
- 54:52Jim Reapers.
- 54:54Oh.
- 55:01Sharing my screen now.
- 55:08Official apparel belt sleeve.
- 55:11Jim Reapers.
- 55:15They just getting started.
- 55:19Are you excited about that?
- 55:23I'm not going to the games,
- 55:24so I really couldn't care less,
- 55:25to be honest with you.
- 55:28I hope they do
- 55:31I hope they do for the
- 55:33masters athletes better
- 55:35than they did last year.
- 55:36I put it to you like that.
- 55:37I do wish that for him.
- 55:39I got a buddy of mine that I
- 55:40just realized was going
- 55:41that I competed with at legends last year,
- 55:44Greg Hauser.
- 55:46So like,
- 55:46I hope they give them enough stuff
- 55:48to last the entire weekend
- 55:49without having to do laundry three times.
- 55:51That would be pretty cool
- 55:52for Jamie and for Carolyn as well.
- 55:56I mean,
- 55:56I'm in the back of seeing like the
- 55:57names falling off of the,
- 56:00were they really you had to
- 56:01wash them so much to get to
- 56:04really yeah I didn't know
- 56:06that oh dude that's
- 56:08terrible booty shorts a lot
- 56:13of low-cut bras I don't I
- 56:14fail to see the problem you
- 56:16know yeah I'll tell you
- 56:18what carolyn will have a
- 56:19conniption yes you will
- 56:21And she has a legit... She's
- 56:23a school teacher.
- 56:24She doesn't want stuff out
- 56:26on the internet.
- 56:27Affirm booty shorts and
- 56:29low-cut sports bras.
- 56:30She teaches kids every day
- 56:33in her real life.
- 56:37And then Jamie wants all the
- 56:39booty shorts and all the
- 56:40low-cut sports bras.
- 56:43So the two co-hosts on
- 56:45Sunday night completely...
- 56:47When it comes to that concept,
- 56:48they couldn't be more different.
- 56:49I'm with...
- 56:52Whoever it ends up being,
- 56:53whenever I ended up making it,
- 56:57I want decent shorts that
- 56:59don't go down past my knees,
- 57:02which is not easy to do
- 57:03because I'm not real tall.
- 57:06And I really don't care what
- 57:08the shirts look like
- 57:09because I'm only going to
- 57:10be wearing it to walk out
- 57:11onto the floor and then it's coming off.
- 57:13So that doesn't really matter.
- 57:15But I do want it to look nice.
- 57:16That would be good.
- 57:19Yeah.
- 57:21It's part of the trophy.
- 57:24Yeah.
- 57:25That's part of the reward
- 57:26for making it like,
- 57:28and you want it to last.
- 57:28You don't want letters
- 57:29falling off by the third day.
- 57:31Cause you had to wash it every night.
- 57:34At least that I know down
- 57:36here that made the games
- 57:38like are still wearing
- 57:39their stuff years later.
- 57:44alito I'm with carolyn on
- 57:45that one I don't wear booty
- 57:47shorts so that leaves me
- 57:48with a pair of leggings for
- 57:49the entire weekend I hope
- 57:51they give y'all options
- 57:53like hey I don't wear booty
- 57:55shorts instead of getting
- 57:56forcing these shorts on me
- 57:58can you just give me three
- 57:59pairs of leggings instead
- 58:00or whatever you know
- 58:02whatever the case may be
- 58:04like I don't need shorts I
- 58:05don't want shorts
- 58:07Or some of the newer shorts
- 58:09like you see Fee and
- 58:11Caroline Stanton wearing
- 58:13that are like the tennis skirts,
- 58:17like some options like that.
- 58:19There's some cooler,
- 58:20hipper stuff that aren't booty shorts.
- 58:23That's not – yeah,
- 58:24that's not just your booty
- 58:25cheeks hanging out at the bottom of it.
- 58:27Especially for Masters athletes, dude,
- 58:28like –
- 58:29The younger women probably care less,
- 58:33I would say,
- 58:33than the master's age athletes.
- 58:36But like Carolyn, like you said,
- 58:38she is a professional.
- 58:39She is a school teacher.
- 58:40She does not want her stuff
- 58:41hanging out all over the place.
- 58:44And especially when you get
- 58:45up into the older age group,
- 58:47those ladies certainly
- 58:48don't want their stuff
- 58:49hanging out all over the
- 58:50place because they got
- 58:51grandkids watching and
- 58:53whatever else the case may be.
- 58:56Just options.
- 58:57That's all we're asking for.
- 59:01we have gone long it happens
- 59:03and I am back to work today
- 59:05so I need to uh get back up
- 59:08there and sign back in um
- 59:11with that guys it's been
- 59:12fun trying to talk about
- 59:16everything going on on a
- 59:17slow week has turned not to
- 59:18be slow and I did you know
- 59:21there are some things
- 59:23floating out there that a
- 59:24sale is imminent possibly
- 59:26this week so I'll leave it
- 59:28when it happens
- 59:30been talking about it for a
- 59:31year now true so with that
