- 0:00Speaker 1: M Boog Black Cap Podcast, BOUG black Caps Show special
- 0:06Speaker 1: guests in here. He's back the Legend. We talked about
- 0:09Speaker 1: this album coming out last time he was here is
- 0:11Speaker 1: finally dropping Friday two, shortest in the building.
- 0:15Speaker 2: What up man, what up man?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Just it feels good to get this uh Little John
- 0:18Speaker 1: album out.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Man. Oh yeah, you know volume two it's it is
- 0:24Speaker 2: uh long been you know, on the plate as far
- 0:28Speaker 2: as ready to go mix and mastered. You know, he
- 0:32Speaker 2: had what happened with his son, We.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Kind of yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean that was a
- 0:36Speaker 1: very tragerous situation.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah, we kind of just held back for a minute
- 0:40Speaker 2: and you know, just took our time and and got
- 0:42Speaker 2: everything ready to proper way.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Right when something like that happens. Cause obviously Y you
- 0:47Speaker 1: recently uh suffered a loss as well with your brother
- 0:49Speaker 1: d Y. You reach out, you make sure like he's good,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and you know, I.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Mean, yeah, man, you gotta give r leave room for
- 0:57Speaker 2: however a person might be grieving. I know, you know,
- 0:59Speaker 2: when when that happened to me, it took me a
- 1:03Speaker 2: few days to even respond. So so you know, everything
- 1:07Speaker 2: has to happen when it's supposed to happen. It definitely
- 1:09Speaker 2: got to reach out to make sure you people are
- 1:11Speaker 2: okay though.
- 1:12Speaker 1: For sure. So this album, you previewed a record with
- 1:17Speaker 1: Fat Joe and Kiss in New York, and it reminded
- 1:20Speaker 1: me of like pre kings of Crunk Too Short and
- 1:26Speaker 1: Little John. Shit. What is kind of because I'm sure
- 1:29Speaker 1: you guys had worked on different parts of this album
- 1:31Speaker 1: over the years, can you kind of give me like
- 1:33Speaker 1: the range of like, I guess what's the oldest record?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Well, no, it was this.
- 1:39Speaker 1: All new shit.
- 1:40Speaker 2: This is.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Six okay, so that was all. This is all this year.
- 1:44Speaker 2: We just did it. We were actually gonna we recorded
- 1:46Speaker 2: it so fast, we were gonna just put it out
- 1:50Speaker 2: right when the thing happened with his son Man, he
- 1:52Speaker 2: lost his son man, Rest in peace, young slave. But
- 1:57Speaker 2: it was ready, it was. It happened fast, like literally,
- 2:01Speaker 2: we were gonna work on a song, yeah, a song
- 2:03Speaker 2: that we had previously recorded years earlier. We thought about
- 2:07Speaker 2: updating it, and he sent me just some beats when.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You guys like get in because I feel like right now,
- 2:15Speaker 1: like hip hop is in a very very rough place commercially,
- 2:19Speaker 1: like it's hard. Like if you notice a lot of
- 2:21Speaker 1: radio stations are going old school.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's not even really a lot of albums
- 2:25Speaker 2: coming out doing big.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not like hit records anymore. So when you
- 2:28Speaker 1: guys are going into this, like are you because I
- 2:31Speaker 1: think of a record like, you know, you've kind of
- 2:34Speaker 1: found the fountain of youth because no matter what you do,
- 2:38Speaker 1: it's relevant. I think of the Drink and Smoke record
- 2:40Speaker 1: with Tiger forty that just you know was on the radio.
- 2:44Speaker 1: But when it comes to the John album, you guys
- 2:46Speaker 1: have such just legacy and sound like you guys have
- 2:51Speaker 1: your sound and then you have your sound together. Is
- 2:55Speaker 1: there like an objective like nah, we like we know
- 2:57Speaker 1: what's missing right now, let's go on here and delivered.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Is it just like I never made music like that.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I've just you know whatever when you would working with
- 3:05Speaker 2: talented people. The way I see it is try to
- 3:07Speaker 2: make the best music you can make. Like and even
- 3:10Speaker 2: when I was me by myself, you know, the driving
- 3:13Speaker 2: force of whatever song I might be working on, I'm
- 3:16Speaker 2: really just thinking, make some good music because it's no
- 3:20Speaker 2: I've never seen in my entire career where it was
- 3:24Speaker 2: where it was gonna benefit me to look at a
- 3:26Speaker 2: group of people and go, this is gonna be my
- 3:29Speaker 2: dance hit for the clubs, or yeah, this is the
- 3:32Speaker 2: one they gonna bump in the streets. I never thought
- 3:34Speaker 2: like that.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, what's the beat making me feel?
- 3:37Speaker 2: We make songs, we listen back to them and we
- 3:40Speaker 2: go ooh, this is one of those ones, and it's
- 3:42Speaker 2: just how you do it. So I don't know, man,
- 3:45Speaker 2: Little John gave me a gang of beats and I
- 3:47Speaker 2: just wrapped on all of them.
- 3:49Speaker 1: What's the difference for you, because like you've had producers
- 3:52Speaker 1: that you've been locked in with, like obviously guys like
- 3:55Speaker 1: Aunt Banks and you got John. Is like the process
- 4:00Speaker 1: of like locking in for in it? Because this is
- 4:02Speaker 1: obviously you and Little John have classics together for a
- 4:04Speaker 1: lot of people, don't. We talked about it before. I mean,
- 4:06Speaker 1: he produced Blow the Whistle, biggest song ever, and Shake
- 4:09Speaker 1: that Monkey and Shake that Monkey all that. But I'm curious, like,
- 4:13Speaker 1: is the process working with him? Is it a lot
- 4:15Speaker 1: more meticulous to maybe working with some of the other
- 4:17Speaker 1: producers you might usually work with. Is it different? Is
- 4:19Speaker 1: it natural? Is it like, what's what's kind of the
- 4:21Speaker 1: process of the Little John studio session compared to maybe
- 4:25Speaker 1: somebody else.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well, I've aligned myself with a few guys who really produce. Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 2: and when I say produced, I mean they actually work
- 4:34Speaker 2: on the concept of the song with you. Sometimes they
- 4:38Speaker 2: bring excins and they bring the beat with a hook
- 4:41Speaker 2: already on it, which is pretty much the concept where
- 4:44Speaker 2: the songs.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I had an idea, you know.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And it's like, you know, guys like that Jazzy Fay
- 4:51Speaker 2: and Banks, Little John definitely does it. Get some beats
- 4:56Speaker 2: from somebody like Rick Rock or somebody, and there's a
- 4:59Speaker 2: bunch of these. Use is that when they give you
- 5:01Speaker 2: just a beat and see if you want to pick
- 5:02Speaker 2: a beat, it sounds like a real record, right. It's
- 5:05Speaker 2: mixed good, everything's at the right level. The hook is amazing.
- 5:09Speaker 2: All you gotta do is to step in and make
- 5:10Speaker 2: it a song. And then I've aligned myself with the
- 5:14Speaker 2: likes of producers like that, who I can keep circling
- 5:18Speaker 2: back to and go, I need one and I don't.
- 5:21Speaker 2: A lot of songs are great that you have to
- 5:24Speaker 2: you gotta work on them, and you gotta work the sounds,
- 5:27Speaker 2: and you gotta tweak with it, and you gotta, you know,
- 5:30Speaker 2: get into the plug ins and make it happen and
- 5:32Speaker 2: make it bigger and make it better, and then these
- 5:35Speaker 2: other songs, like the guys who I name, they give
- 5:38Speaker 2: it to you and it's ready to go.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll get some like sometimes you'll be in a
- 5:41Speaker 1: session with somebody and they'll be like, I like to beat,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but you got the stamps because the beat kind of
- 5:44Speaker 1: sound like it's unmixed.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and you gotta just you gotta doctor it up,
- 5:48Speaker 2: which is okay, right, But these guys that I align
- 5:51Speaker 2: myself with, they pretty much come in the studio with
- 5:54Speaker 2: all that all that work has already done.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Is there a shade or version of storytelling short on
- 6:02Speaker 1: the new album.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The Little John Songs. Let me look at it. Let
- 6:07Speaker 2: me look at the titles.
- 6:08Speaker 1: People who don't realize this is one of the greatest
- 6:10Speaker 1: storytellers you know history.
- 6:11Speaker 2: This is a four part series, so a lot of
- 6:14Speaker 2: stories to come in volume three and four. Let me
- 6:17Speaker 2: just look at the title because I don't really know
- 6:19Speaker 2: off handed me. Let me see, Yep, we got a
- 6:25Speaker 2: little story telling there, a little bit there somewhat on
- 6:34Speaker 2: that one. Definitely, that's a whole storytelling song. A couple
- 6:37Speaker 2: of that's good to hear. Yeah, So it's it's it's
- 6:40Speaker 2: it's on there, it's approach.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Like because like again we're talking about freaky tales, Blowjop, Betty,
- 6:44Speaker 1: on and on and on. When you approach the storytelling aspect,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I'm sure you've got so many gems you haven't shared,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but I'm sure you also maybe see something or might
- 6:57Speaker 1: experience a third party where you're like, oh, that would
- 7:00Speaker 1: be fly? Can I tell Like, can I tell that
- 7:02Speaker 1: story on a record? What is the motivation where you're like,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I need to put this.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It's crazy because I don't even think like, let me
- 7:08Speaker 2: tell a story in this song. I'm thinking of a
- 7:11Speaker 2: subject and it's different ways to rap about it, and
- 7:14Speaker 2: a lot of times the way I rap about the subject,
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'm trying to get to a point. I'm trying to
- 7:20Speaker 2: either show you how the game works. You know what
- 7:24Speaker 2: this game is like somebody like you know the player,
- 7:26Speaker 2: you come out flawless, you know the game works for you,
- 7:29Speaker 2: or I'm showing you like the the hazards and I'm
- 7:34Speaker 2: like telling you in the story you could do it
- 7:36Speaker 2: like this or you can do it like that. And basically,
- 7:40Speaker 2: if I give you an example, then I think you
- 7:43Speaker 2: hear the lesson in a different way than if I
- 7:46Speaker 2: just preached at you. So I'll tell a story about
- 7:49Speaker 2: somebody that's fucking up. Right. It's not me, it's not you, right,
- 7:53Speaker 2: but somebody, but somebody's sucking up And we look into this,
- 7:55Speaker 2: we listen to the story, and we go, shit, I'm
- 7:57Speaker 2: not gonna do what he did. That was corny, that's
- 7:59Speaker 2: that's dumb. So then another scenario, I'll give you a
- 8:03Speaker 2: story of maybe too short the character, and he's coming
- 8:06Speaker 2: out like a hero. In this scenario, I'm talking about
- 8:09Speaker 2: this story I'm telling too Shorts doing everything right. You
- 8:12Speaker 2: like dad, I want to be like that guy. So
- 8:15Speaker 2: the storytelling helps get the point across. But other rappers
- 8:19Speaker 2: might do it in a slick metaphor or something boldly
- 8:23Speaker 2: in your face a statement. I do it in these
- 8:25Speaker 2: little slick stories about playersm in life, in the game,
- 8:29Speaker 2: and then you end up learning.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I always wonder when you do a song like cuss
- 8:32Speaker 1: words at that time, like obviously hip hop wasn't in
- 8:36Speaker 1: such a like we're like being vulgar was like such
- 8:39Speaker 1: a normal thing. Did you face any blowback from that
- 8:43Speaker 1: record or being the guy who was like.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I was told by people who came before me, you
- 8:48Speaker 2: can't curse on records. If you curse on records, that
- 8:50Speaker 2: makes it like comedy records or something. It's not a
- 8:52Speaker 2: real song shit like that. But you know, and I
- 8:57Speaker 2: didn't really listen too much to it. I was fashioning
- 9:02Speaker 2: my style between behind like storytellers in the fashion of
- 9:09Speaker 2: Jimmy Spicer, like he does on super Rhymes and what
- 9:14Speaker 2: do you do the bubble Bunch and Dollar Bill y'all, yep,
- 9:20Speaker 2: as well as Spoony G who would his song might
- 9:26Speaker 2: not be a story from front to back, but within
- 9:29Speaker 2: his bragging rhymes, he'll tell you a little story, then
- 9:32Speaker 2: he go back to bragging. And I kind of like,
- 9:34Speaker 2: you know, just that was the style I gravitated towards.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Was you talk a little shit, tell a story, back
- 9:42Speaker 2: it up, and you just weave in and out of it.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You don't necessarily have to just do all shit talking
- 9:49Speaker 2: or all storytelling.
- 9:50Speaker 1: All right, Another podcast brought to you by odd Socks.

- 10:21Speaker 1: to the basics line. Whether you got the ankle socks,

- 11:20Speaker 1: thank me later, yeah, because I can only imagine like
- 11:22Speaker 1: you when you're the guy who kind of comes out
- 11:24Speaker 1: obviously that's you know when you think about like eighties
- 11:28Speaker 1: hip hop rock, Kim Kars, boogie down productions, even like
- 11:32Speaker 1: ll shit, if those.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Are the guys that came up with I'm talking about
- 11:34Speaker 2: the guys who inspired me, right right, right.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Right, But you're the guy who's like bitches hoes, And that.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Was my lane when everybody, when everybody was doing something original,
- 11:46Speaker 2: nobody could be like anybody else. The gang was my lane.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I kind of feel like you, like were you made
- 11:52Speaker 1: it okay? Though, like the parents' advisory sticker wouldn't might
- 11:56Speaker 1: not existed for warm.
- 11:56Speaker 2: For that's funny. That's funny because the first time we
- 12:00Speaker 2: did that, we did it on our own with graphics.
- 12:01Speaker 2: We didn't have a sticker. We just put parental advisory
- 12:04Speaker 2: on it.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So like you added it.
- 12:06Speaker 2: It wasn't on the Bourn the Maac album. We wanted
- 12:09Speaker 2: you to know it was a dirty album. But if
- 12:12Speaker 2: you listened to, like Melly Mail, anything he did when
- 12:16Speaker 2: he's in storytelling form. When he's in storytelling mode, Grandma's
- 12:22Speaker 2: the flash songs, the message new York, New York, just
- 12:24Speaker 2: he did so many of them. Yeah, of course, But
- 12:26Speaker 2: when Mellie Mail is telling the story, you can actually
- 12:30Speaker 2: see it. Like other rappers can tell you a story
- 12:33Speaker 2: and you follow the story, but literally Melly Mail gives
- 12:37Speaker 2: you details about what's what he's seeing, and then you,
- 12:42Speaker 2: in return, are listening to a song that has a
- 12:44Speaker 2: visual through the words. I try to write like that
- 12:47Speaker 2: with the pimp shit and the game shit, and I'm like,
- 12:50Speaker 2: I want you to actually be in the moment, so
- 12:53Speaker 2: you know.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I could close my eyes and picture a line of
- 12:55Speaker 1: men lined up to get their dick suck in the
- 12:57Speaker 1: bathroom by blowjob.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Blow job better. Yes, she's just a little supposed to
- 13:02Speaker 2: be a whole, but she's just a little comfort who
- 13:04Speaker 2: just who's for free. She's just doing it because she's
- 13:08Speaker 2: like sport.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Nah for sure. For you man like U. When you
- 13:13Speaker 1: think about the greatest storytellers of all time, you're in
- 13:15Speaker 1: that conversation, who do you you talked about?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Melloy mel I think God, I like that I'm really
- 13:22Speaker 2: not in that conversation. You are in that conversation, but
- 13:24Speaker 2: I'm in that category and the no, but you're in
- 13:27Speaker 2: the combo. I haven't heard it. But at the same time, but.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It's because it's because I just feel like, I feel
- 13:32Speaker 1: like you don't get the love that you when it
- 13:34Speaker 1: comes to these combos. You gotta get it.
- 13:36Speaker 2: So look, I take pride in never being considered top
- 13:41Speaker 2: anything because I don't have to look in the mirror
- 13:45Speaker 2: and light in myself and go, you're better than all
- 13:48Speaker 2: of them. You know what. I got stats. You gotta
- 13:50Speaker 2: have numbers, and it's like, it's so cool to me
- 13:55Speaker 2: that of all the people they always put up on
- 13:58Speaker 2: the pedestal, you know what I'm saying, I'm either right
- 14:02Speaker 2: there with him or or I'm ahead of them. And
- 14:04Speaker 2: it's like it's like I'm when you talk the numbers,
- 14:09Speaker 2: let's talk just numbers of every rapper whoever rapped ever. Yeah,
- 14:13Speaker 2: I'm up there in the stats, bro, Like I'm up
- 14:15Speaker 2: there like six platinum for gold, you know, just the
- 14:19Speaker 2: platinum and gold features, the amount of the amount of
- 14:22Speaker 2: units sold, you know, the longevity of the career, the
- 14:29Speaker 2: lasting power of songs like shake that Monkey, blow the Whistle,
- 14:32Speaker 2: as well as.
- 14:32Speaker 1: That's your and that's your, and that's your like second seven.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the second one. Yeah, and the classics that stuck. Yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I really don't need the storytelling. Stat I
- 14:45Speaker 2: don't need the platinum stat I don't need the top
- 14:48Speaker 2: five anything. Stat. I did what I did, and no
- 14:51Speaker 2: one can dispute it because it's in math.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I always wanted album number ten. Getting it comes out,
- 14:58Speaker 1: we all think we're losing you. It's over. I feel
- 15:01Speaker 1: like you might've been the first rapper to pump fake
- 15:03Speaker 1: the retirement. Jay Z came after you drop Can't Stay Away,
- 15:08Speaker 1: which is a great album. I think you had more
- 15:10Speaker 1: Freaky Tails on Can't Stay Away.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It might have been I always kept I kept the
- 15:14Speaker 2: freaky Tails going forever.
- 15:17Speaker 1: What was like, what like, was there ever like a
- 15:20Speaker 1: second where you were like, I'm really retiring or was
- 15:23Speaker 1: it always kind of like.
- 15:25Speaker 2: No, that didn't that did not really happen in real life.
- 15:27Speaker 2: That was that was like, yeah, it's album number ten.
- 15:31Speaker 2: On to everybody's the last that was it was organic
- 15:36Speaker 2: in a way because it was my tenth album. YEP,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I turned thirty that year. It was always the talk
- 15:43Speaker 2: of thirty year old rappers though, like Granddaddy's.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Like, I mean, look, this is the genre is young.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so they were like you're thirty and you rapped,
- 15:51Speaker 2: Like what the fuck? Like old ass has been rapping
- 15:54Speaker 2: at thirty. So all this, all this stuff was was
- 15:58Speaker 2: in the air in my in my mind, I should
- 16:00Speaker 2: say about turning thirty tenth album, and I said it
- 16:06Speaker 2: on the song the song Getting It was definitely gonna
- 16:09Speaker 2: be once we recorded it, we were gonna definitely name
- 16:11Speaker 2: the album Getting It. I had always had a working
- 16:14Speaker 2: title called album number ten, and I thought that was
- 16:17Speaker 2: a dope title. Then we made Getting It and I
- 16:22Speaker 2: subtitled it Getting It. Album number ten was right, a
- 16:25Speaker 2: little small on air because I wanted to brag not
- 16:28Speaker 2: a lot of album I think any rapper really had
- 16:30Speaker 2: ten albums at that time. Yeah, that had came out
- 16:33Speaker 2: on that level and did what my ten albums did.
- 16:37Speaker 2: So I was popping my collar on that situation. And
- 16:41Speaker 2: it just I don't know, it just it just was
- 16:46Speaker 2: it was. It was it was organic that I said
- 16:49Speaker 2: on the song, But then it was manufactured. How we
- 16:53Speaker 2: how we use it for a PR stunt?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Have you ever thought about turning like any of the
- 16:58Speaker 1: Freaky Tail shit in the like a mini series or
- 17:01Speaker 1: like a TV show, Well.
- 17:02Speaker 2: A movie name Freaky Tails did pretty damn good. If
- 17:04Speaker 2: you didn't see that, I.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Didn't see that. Now you need to go look it up.
- 17:07Speaker 2: It's always at the DVD. It's all the way through. No,
- 17:10Speaker 2: this is new ship, it's brand new, Like, oh, wait,
- 17:12Speaker 2: are you talking about the movie from last Yeah? Yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 2: yeah about fat Yeah yeah, I bought her Amazon. So
- 17:20Speaker 2: freaky Tells is just the continuance of how that name fantastic? Yeah?
- 17:26Speaker 2: How I put those? You know, we've all grown up
- 17:30Speaker 2: on fairy tales, books and shipp and movies. But Freaky
- 17:35Speaker 2: Tales was my two short early days spin on fairy tales.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Freaky tales. But the words freaky tales have been around
- 17:43Speaker 2: so long because the song, the first, the original song,
- 17:46Speaker 2: is the best of all of them. But then Cocktails
- 17:50Speaker 2: is just Freaky Tails, another version, great album, And.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I feel like you could do like a like a
- 17:57Speaker 1: twelve part mini series.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I thought a Freaky Tail I was that most people
- 18:01Speaker 2: never even heard. It's like the rarest version of fine.
- 18:04Speaker 2: It's called Freaky Tails Part two and it was never
- 18:08Speaker 2: on a two short album and it's literally the same
- 18:10Speaker 2: beat as the first one, but it's just all different women.
- 18:15Speaker 2: It's only on vinyl, and I'm sure you can type
- 18:18Speaker 2: it in on YouTube.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And someone said, I wonder if someone uploaded it on YouTube.
- 18:23Speaker 2: It's gotta bet. I remember. It was so rare even
- 18:27Speaker 2: to me that I traded a guy who had it
- 18:31Speaker 2: a copy of it. I gave him something he wanted.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He gave me his just to get the vinyl. That's crazy,
- 18:36Speaker 2: just so I would have it in my collection. You know,
- 18:38Speaker 2: that's crazy. That was that such a special time or like?
- 18:40Speaker 2: But then I got these are details I got more
- 18:44Speaker 2: Freaky Tail. I don't know how many man I kept
- 18:45Speaker 2: doing it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah, No, Cocktails is a great album too. Man, tell
- 18:49Speaker 1: me when you have a guy like Drake who has
- 18:53Speaker 1: I just want to know your take. Drake's kind of
- 18:56Speaker 1: been very active and paying homage to the Bay for
- 19:01Speaker 1: the past eleven twelve years. Obviously started with the model
- 19:03Speaker 1: he sampled for free, he sampled Blow the Whistle on
- 19:07Speaker 1: for free, and then there's this new uh, this new
- 19:11Speaker 1: too Hard for the radio where he pretty much does
- 19:13Speaker 1: the Mac Drake thing. What is you know your relationship
- 19:17Speaker 1: with Drake in general, and how do you kind of
- 19:18Speaker 1: feel about his relationship with the Bank.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Well, I'm a fan, yeah, been been a fan since
- 19:26Speaker 2: I know somewhere in the two thousand's twenty ten is shit,
- 19:30Speaker 2: Like that's when I started. Yeah, a bunch of little
- 19:33Speaker 2: cute females are like, this is my favorite artists, right,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and you're like, okay, you got turned on to it
- 19:38Speaker 2: that kind of That's how I got turned on to
- 19:39Speaker 2: it by a little bad bitches. But but yeah, he
- 19:45Speaker 2: came in the game, you know, slightly humble when he
- 19:50Speaker 2: saw some of the OG's and and showed love. He
- 19:54Speaker 2: definitely was was an admirer of some Bay rappers as
- 19:59Speaker 2: well as probably some Texas rappers.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Right, those are the two places I feel like he
- 20:04Speaker 1: always is.
- 20:06Speaker 2: And he's always fucking with somebody, So he's you know,
- 20:13Speaker 2: he's he's he irritates some people love over here, don't
- 20:17Speaker 2: love him over there. Got a whole legion of people
- 20:20Speaker 2: that like, they don't like him. This is how they talk.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I don't like that soft as ship. You know those
- 20:26Speaker 2: those people, Yeah, you got those people. Then you got
- 20:30Speaker 2: the people that go to all his sold out shows
- 20:33Speaker 2: and keep making the ship number one that love the
- 20:35Speaker 2: funk out of it. Uh, you fast forward to the
- 20:39Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it, the West Coast fiasco
- 20:42Speaker 2: he went through. And now we got these emotions involved
- 20:50Speaker 2: with who's going to forgive and forget, who's going to
- 20:55Speaker 2: hold a grudge, Who's going to ride or die with
- 20:59Speaker 2: one side or the other? Like East Coast, West Coast,
- 21:02Speaker 2: Cripson blood some ship. And that part right now is
- 21:07Speaker 2: I wouldn't say it's a gray area. It's like a
- 21:09Speaker 2: dark gray area.
- 21:10Speaker 1: It's dark like I saw, you know, a friend of
- 21:14Speaker 1: mine both I'm friends with both these guys and they're
- 21:16Speaker 1: friends with each other. But I saw GM alone was
- 21:18Speaker 1: mad at Pelo for making the be.
- 21:20Speaker 2: But I'm like, you guess Pilo don't know Kendrick Dog Like, yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 2: glasses is like till the wheels fall off you start.
- 21:27Speaker 2: You started this West Coast, you started, it never ends.
- 21:31Speaker 2: If I've been in a conversation, and you know, it's
- 21:35Speaker 2: sort of like it's a time thing. Man. How many
- 21:40Speaker 2: people swore up and down that the world would never
- 21:44Speaker 2: forgive Chris Brown. And where's Chris Brown at right now? Today?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Stadiums, you know, and the second second stadium tour in
- 21:51Speaker 1: two years.
- 21:52Speaker 2: It's like time will tell. I don't know how that
- 21:54Speaker 2: story is supposed to go. Me personally, I was never
- 21:59Speaker 2: East Coast versus West Coast, nor was I Drake versus Kendrick.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I did not see that as a fight in the schoolyard.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I definitely saw that as a country club fight.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And you've always been as much as you are Oakland,
- 22:15Speaker 1: mister Oakland, you're also the guy who was in Atlanta
- 22:18Speaker 1: and who had the relationship with Texas and then was
- 22:21Speaker 1: on all the jay Z shit and the biggie shit.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And in order for Drake and Kendrick to really have
- 22:27Speaker 2: a fight, you'd have to go to like the swinkiest
- 22:31Speaker 2: gated community, like on the actual eighteenth Hole or some shit,
- 22:37Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Can't get there unless you
- 22:39Speaker 2: remember they're too rich man rich.
- 22:41Speaker 1: When you first heard for Free and how he flipp
- 22:43Speaker 1: blowed the whistle, what were.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Your thoughts on it? I was like, that's dope. Drake
- 22:48Speaker 2: just said my words were for word and forever I
- 22:52Speaker 2: will get a check.
- 22:52Speaker 1: You will get that check.
- 22:54Speaker 2: That's how I think about all samples. Man. I'm like,
- 22:57Speaker 2: that's great, because I've sampled so many songs in my career,
- 23:00Speaker 2: and I know that at times, not only has me
- 23:05Speaker 2: sampling that put a lot of money in somebody's pocket,
- 23:08Speaker 2: at times they might have needed that money, right And
- 23:12Speaker 2: you know, I'm still hustling, but I promise you the
- 23:16Speaker 2: income that comes from people sampling too Short is important
- 23:20Speaker 2: to me.
- 23:20Speaker 1: One hundred percent. I mean, the SWEETI record is huge.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And it adds a value to my catalog that I'm
- 23:27Speaker 2: thinking as I sit here, that's probably the most valuable
- 23:29Speaker 2: thing that I have is the catalog. Two short catalog.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Shout out to our brothers, a hard Dean man outs family.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Of course, they've been sponsoring the podcast for years now.
- 23:39Speaker 1: You've been seeing the mic flag for years now. Want
- 23:42Speaker 1: to give a shout out to our brothers. I just
- 23:43Speaker 1: was in Vegas. I had to pull up all right. Look,
- 23:45Speaker 1: it's the number one dispensary in the world. When I
- 23:48Speaker 1: tell you, walk in that thing and the butt tenders
- 23:51Speaker 1: are great. They take care of you immediately. The selection
- 23:54Speaker 1: is great. So when you go to Vegas, you get
- 23:56Speaker 1: into that cab, you get into that uber immediately, say
- 23:59Speaker 1: take me to Harding. The don't know what they're doing,
- 24:00Speaker 1: all right, they go get you right, all right, the
- 24:02Speaker 1: number one premium cannabis dispensary in the world. They just
- 24:05Speaker 1: got me right. I was just in town for a
- 24:07Speaker 1: raffie's birthday. Had to pull up, get right this nice
- 24:11Speaker 1: little one on one Hardean jersey. These are not available,
- 24:15Speaker 1: all right. Shout to them man, all right, salute to
- 24:17Speaker 1: the family. Follow him on Instagram. Hardean Underscore Las Vegas. Sorry,
- 24:20Speaker 1: let's get back to the podcast. Your man Hove does
- 24:23Speaker 1: the three shows at Yankee Stadium. To me, out of
- 24:27Speaker 1: all the songs he performed, the coolest shit I saw
- 24:30Speaker 1: him perform was to blow the whistle freestyle Lebron being
- 24:33Speaker 1: in the crowd. For people who don't know, there was
- 24:35Speaker 1: an s Dot Carter mixtape and at that time the
- 24:38Speaker 1: Wizards and the Cavaliers had a rivalry going. There was
- 24:42Speaker 1: a player named DeShawn Stevenson was taking shot to Lebron. Yep,
- 24:46Speaker 1: jay Z comes out of nowhere.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Don't forget that the jay Z was going to all
- 24:50Speaker 2: the Cavs games, yes, hoping that Lebron would come to
- 24:53Speaker 2: the to the Brooklyn.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Right, So jay Z drops a blow the Whistle freestyle
- 25:00Speaker 1: paying homage to Lebron taking shots at the wizards. It's legendary.
- 25:03Speaker 1: You see him perform this freestyle, but the fact he
- 25:06Speaker 1: remembered because he was doing so much random shit. I
- 25:08Speaker 1: was just impressed he knew all the lyrics.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, he did some rehearsal. He's the photogenic memory motherfucker
- 25:13Speaker 2: something something.
- 25:15Speaker 1: But you see him doing that freestyle, it's gotta feel
- 25:16Speaker 1: good to see, like all these years later, Like damn,
- 25:18Speaker 1: like oh man, Like.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Yeah, all I could think about when I saw was
- 25:23Speaker 2: I was like, does he just have the brain capacity
- 25:29Speaker 2: to just retain rhymes right? Or this motherfuckers just do
- 25:34Speaker 2: a whole lot of rehearsing, right, Because it's gotta be
- 25:38Speaker 2: one or the Other's no in between, there's no other option. Yeah.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I feel like when you have a catalog like yours
- 25:43Speaker 1: or his, like it's only natural that you know you
- 25:45Speaker 1: can't remember like random freestyle.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Guys like mister Fab can do a flawless freestyle at
- 25:53Speaker 2: any given time, with music or without music. And I've
- 25:57Speaker 2: seen Fab do it on so many occasion. Is where
- 26:00Speaker 2: he literally is telling a in real time story of
- 26:05Speaker 2: what's going on in the room, what is happening right now?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Or I saw him one day look at the people
- 26:10Speaker 2: in the room and he just told the story of
- 26:11Speaker 2: Oakland based on who was at this one show.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Play with when he battled Royster five nine.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Mm and got out. It's kind of crazy, But I
- 26:22Speaker 2: think the best thing I ever seen him do was
- 26:25Speaker 2: was Sway in the morning. He's rapping and sways yelling
- 26:29Speaker 2: in his ear things a rap about, and he's finishing
- 26:32Speaker 2: what he's saying, taking in what he's getting yelled at,
- 26:35Speaker 2: and throwing that in there. I've seen him rap like
- 26:40Speaker 2: like fucking sports stats and kind of ship. But I'm
- 26:44Speaker 2: just I'm saying that because I've questioned him and he
- 26:48Speaker 2: has somewhat of a photogenic memory. I've seen him exercise
- 26:52Speaker 2: that in the studio where he freestyles a rap literally
- 26:57Speaker 2: freestyle and then you're come, my hope about Fab. I'm thinking,
- 27:02Speaker 2: how did these people function? Like jay Z doing that freestyle?
- 27:06Speaker 2: But Fab could do a freestyle and then say take
- 27:10Speaker 2: me back to the beginning and then wrap the same
- 27:12Speaker 2: words you.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Just remembered it. That's crazy.
- 27:14Speaker 2: So that that is rare out there, and jay Z,
- 27:20Speaker 2: I don't know that was that ship was. It was
- 27:23Speaker 2: a lot of detail and a lot of personal personal
- 27:26Speaker 2: ship that he was trying to get off his chest
- 27:27Speaker 2: in that fucking.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Was it was all good? Just a week ago? The
- 27:30Speaker 1: first song you worked with hove on or was it
- 27:32Speaker 1: the second?
- 27:33Speaker 2: Here we Go? Was the first? Real gangsters do real things? Yes,
- 27:40Speaker 2: fucking I forget the name of it.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. What was like if you kind of
- 27:49Speaker 1: look back to like some of your like working relationships
- 27:52Speaker 1: with artists, like I think the jay z one is
- 27:54Speaker 1: one that like lasted some years. You guys have joints together.
- 27:59Speaker 2: About three three songs.
- 28:00Speaker 1: With the three songs, what was like your guys' chemistry
- 28:04Speaker 1: and what was it about you guys that like clicked
- 28:07Speaker 1: to where you were able to just have the stoke.
- 28:08Speaker 2: I think him being from Brooklyn, he could respect and
- 28:15Speaker 2: relate to cities like Oakland and these tough cities that
- 28:21Speaker 2: are outside of New York, whereas a lot of New
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yorkers would just be like, I'm from New York. It's
- 28:28Speaker 2: the greatest shit. Well from New York. You just can't
- 28:30Speaker 2: even your mind won't even allow you to think that
- 28:33Speaker 2: another city is great and tough and gagsting right and
- 28:37Speaker 2: gamed up and slick. You're just like, I'm from New York, Son,
- 28:40Speaker 2: It's just there's nothing up.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It's just they got blinders on.
- 28:44Speaker 2: But Jay musically, he knew the importance of a feature
- 28:48Speaker 2: with two short scarface U GK. You know what I'm saying.
- 28:52Speaker 2: He knew what that would do for his audience as
- 28:56Speaker 2: well as venile, as well as what it would do
- 28:59Speaker 2: for us. So he's giving me a good New York look,
- 29:02Speaker 2: and then I'm stamping him like all over the little
- 29:05Speaker 2: Nixon crannies and where two short fans are like, oh shit,
- 29:08Speaker 2: fucking with jay Z. So those collapse, man, that's what
- 29:11Speaker 2: they do.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Do you remember the first time you met jay Z?
- 29:15Speaker 2: Probably had a concert doing on the same show.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Or maybe the first studio session.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Man, Yeah, I'm too cool for all the moments. Everybody
- 29:25Speaker 2: tell you the story. But the first time I met
- 29:27Speaker 2: Jay like first time I remember. The first thing I
- 29:32Speaker 2: remember of jay Z is being on the same shows together.
- 29:36Speaker 2: He would be with these dudes who appeared to have
- 29:39Speaker 2: a lot of money because they would be carrying it
- 29:42Speaker 2: real big, and they'd be in their little crew gambling
- 29:46Speaker 2: and talking loud and doing shit and letting you know,
- 29:49Speaker 2: with some money guys. Yeah, Like we're those guys, and
- 29:53Speaker 2: you know, we get it. What's up and leave it at.
- 29:54Speaker 1: That, you had a great working relationship with Puff.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Uh.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I would say this was probably like late nineties, early
- 30:03Speaker 1: two thousands. I think, like obviously all the crazy stories
- 30:08Speaker 1: about Puffer, it is what it is. But I think
- 30:10Speaker 1: that like sometimes we lose sight of like the cultural
- 30:13Speaker 1: significance and creative power that Puff was.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's our our people who have you know,
- 30:22Speaker 2: what do you want to call it stains on their names?
- 30:25Speaker 2: R Kelly's and the p diddies who who literally.
- 30:28Speaker 1: By the way, I don't want to I don't even
- 30:30Speaker 1: want to relate those two because what r Kelly did
- 30:32Speaker 1: is way different than what did he did, but he
- 30:34Speaker 1: got found guilty of buying a pussy.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Yeah I'm not I'm not even talking about character. I'm
- 30:38Speaker 2: talking about music. Like they both did some genius ship
- 30:42Speaker 2: in music.
- 30:43Speaker 1: R Kelly's my Listen, I say this all the time.
- 30:46Speaker 1: R Kelly's my He might be my favorite artist ever.
- 30:49Speaker 2: He's the goat. King of R and B is what
- 30:52Speaker 2: it is King of R and B to this day.
- 30:56Speaker 2: But yeah, my connection with Puff always was like a
- 31:00Speaker 2: family connection through friends, close friends who the kids play together.
- 31:07Speaker 2: The wives are really good friends and it was like
- 31:10Speaker 2: when I would be around them, it would be the
- 31:12Speaker 2: family function. They definitely definitely went to the parties. But
- 31:16Speaker 2: people have a misconception of a p Diddy party because
- 31:20Speaker 2: the parties that I know of, there was a person
- 31:23Speaker 2: out front with a clipboard, gotta be on the guest list.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Everybody and they Mama, I don't care who you're talking about,
- 31:30Speaker 2: bragging about. They never went to a Diddy Everybody they
- 31:33Speaker 2: Mama's out there begging to get in, trying to get in.
- 31:35Speaker 2: When you get in, it'd be like the most fun
- 31:37Speaker 2: you ever had is a party. Everybody, everybody just out,
- 31:40Speaker 2: whatever the setting is. I might have seen one pair
- 31:45Speaker 2: of titties at a puff Daddy party, some famous titties.
- 31:49Speaker 1: They were famous tits.
- 31:49Speaker 2: She would head on the seat.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Through shirt nice.
- 31:51Speaker 2: She was just vibing that day. And I always remember,
- 31:55Speaker 2: I don't want to say, man, I.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Mean, if she had a seat through shirt on, I'm
- 31:57Speaker 1: sure you know I.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Can say this. But she's done quite a few photo
- 32:01Speaker 2: shoots with their titties, so good for her. So I'm
- 32:03Speaker 2: just I'm not a name dropper, but I saw thitties,
- 32:07Speaker 2: and then I think the stuff that we heard about
- 32:12Speaker 2: in his personal you know.
- 32:15Speaker 1: The freak off ship. It is not this, I would say,
- 32:17Speaker 1: I don't.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Think we were all invited to that was his party, yes,
- 32:21Speaker 2: some other ship. Like, no, it's not the party. I mean,
- 32:23Speaker 2: like and call all my homies too, you know, and
- 32:25Speaker 2: watch me do this.
- 32:26Speaker 1: It's not I tell everybody was no orgies and shit.
- 32:29Speaker 1: More people in the music industry have been to ditty parties,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and everybody would have jumped at a chance to go
- 32:35Speaker 1: to a ditty party because they're legendary parties and they
- 32:38Speaker 1: were very everybody had cameras out. It wasn't like it
- 32:42Speaker 1: was some like shit like I'm like.
- 32:43Speaker 2: You turn into a joke. I've never been to his party, right, and.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Now it's like a meme and it's like, man, you
- 32:48Speaker 1: would have been fucking in that motherfucker chilling.
- 32:51Speaker 2: And I'm like a lot of people who are saying
- 32:52Speaker 2: I've never been, couldn't get on the list, couldn't even
- 32:55Speaker 2: get in, And a lot of people who could that
- 32:57Speaker 2: didn't go. They probably not even party people in general.
- 33:00Speaker 2: So what the fuck? You know?
- 33:02Speaker 1: I see I was gonna say I see you when
- 33:04Speaker 1: uh uh Mount wes Moore have some shows coming up.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna spark it back up for a minute.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Well, that's what I was gonna ask, man, because obviously
- 33:11Speaker 1: everybody's so busy. Forty's dropping a quadruple album, you're dropping
- 33:16Speaker 1: volume two out of four projects.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Snoop is like an R and B Mogo label.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Mogo Snoop is just doing it every fucking thing. And
- 33:24Speaker 1: then ice Cube has got Big three going on, Like,
- 33:27Speaker 1: is there a world in which obviously the live show thing.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Don't forget Friday's coming back too, That's right, but.
- 33:33Speaker 1: The live show thing will always be there for Mount Wesmore,
- 33:35Speaker 1: that's always a bag if you guys want it. But
- 33:37Speaker 1: but will there be another album?
- 33:39Speaker 2: The problem I have with it because I love everything
- 33:43Speaker 2: we just you just said that everybody's active and we
- 33:46Speaker 2: OG's and you know this, grandkids in the pictures, all
- 33:51Speaker 2: kinds of stuff, right. I think that the one the
- 33:57Speaker 2: part that bothers me is the music that never got
- 33:59Speaker 2: Really it was a two projects and it could even
- 34:03Speaker 2: been stretched at three because we made that many songs.
- 34:05Speaker 2: But it was definitely there was a really good album
- 34:09Speaker 2: that's unreleased. And when you got four experts, what happens is,
- 34:17Speaker 2: let's say we play these songs. Then somebody's like, man,
- 34:21Speaker 2: we made that in twenty twenty one. Man, we got
- 34:24Speaker 2: to updated. We gotta. But if I played it for
- 34:26Speaker 2: you right now, just me and you, you were like,
- 34:28Speaker 2: I want this shit just like this.
- 34:29Speaker 1: We call that demoitis.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but in this case, it's not that they
- 34:36Speaker 2: don't love the songs. They're just like, we gotta just
- 34:38Speaker 2: make new shit. We gonna put our new shit. It
- 34:39Speaker 2: got me new shit. And I'm like, I think sometimes
- 34:42Speaker 2: people just want to hear the actual shit. They don't
- 34:44Speaker 2: care if it was made.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, like the original thought when y'all did this that
- 34:48Speaker 1: get was any adaptive stuff that came out through the
- 34:51Speaker 1: like Crypto side.
- 34:53Speaker 2: No, No, I'm talking about none of the little songs
- 34:57Speaker 2: that got through the cracks that weren't on the actual album. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 2: because there might have been five songs that went into
- 35:02Speaker 2: different spaces. NBA got a song, you know, Crypto got
- 35:06Speaker 2: a couple of songs, and it was all kind of
- 35:10Speaker 2: activity going on. No, there's a batch of songs and
- 35:14Speaker 2: it's about fifteen sixteen songs that are really good, and
- 35:20Speaker 2: I just I'm like the Mount Westmore fan. I listened
- 35:23Speaker 2: to him in my car and just whoever's rye with
- 35:26Speaker 2: me gets the privilege of hearing it that day.
- 35:27Speaker 1: But that's fire.
- 35:28Speaker 2: But I don't it frustrates me that I can't convince them.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Let's just put the songs out bron and then like,
- 35:36Speaker 2: gotta be perfect, gotta be the perfect song, got to be.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Who's the hardest guy to convince?
- 35:40Speaker 2: Is it?
- 35:40Speaker 1: Snoop?
- 35:43Speaker 2: They all say something different. Ice Cube would say he
- 35:50Speaker 2: likes some of the songs, some of you don't like anymore.
- 35:52Speaker 2: He kind of don't feel like it's mentally moved on.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Probably Snoop would be like, you know, he would probably say,
- 36:03Speaker 2: y'all figure that shit out. When you figured out, let
- 36:04Speaker 2: me know. And then E forty was say, man, we
- 36:08Speaker 2: got to get rid of all these slower songs, man,
- 36:10Speaker 2: and put we need we need some it need that energy.
- 36:13Speaker 2: May y'all tell y'all don't listen to me. I'm the
- 36:14Speaker 2: best beat I'm the best beat picker in the crew.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Trust me. Let me pick beats and let's make some.
- 36:20Speaker 2: So he want to do new ship and I'm like,
- 36:23Speaker 2: I'm like, it's done. This is the ship that we
- 36:25Speaker 2: did give it to him, Like fuck fuck, well, we
- 36:28Speaker 2: could make it better. And we could because that's how
- 36:30Speaker 2: I always did my ship. I'm like, these are the
- 36:32Speaker 2: songs I got. You like him when you don't.
- 36:36Speaker 1: What are your thoughts? Man? Like, just watching a guy
- 36:39Speaker 1: like Larry June have so much success coming out of
- 36:41Speaker 1: San Francisco.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I'm thinking, Uh, the confidence is got to be part
- 36:48Speaker 2: of the success because he he just he doesn't do
- 36:53Speaker 2: a lot of movement, but it's it just yells out
- 36:58Speaker 2: like like he's he's very confident in what he's doing,
- 37:02Speaker 2: the music, the flow, the subject matter, the fucking Instagram
- 37:09Speaker 2: style like everything.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he got it. Know, you got the brand he got,
- 37:12Speaker 1: he got the aura.
- 37:13Speaker 2: He's and then in his case, he's not even stringing
- 37:17Speaker 2: a bunch of big ass hit records together, but he's
- 37:21Speaker 2: got a solid fan base and a lot of people
- 37:24Speaker 2: are like, I funk with that, dude.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I was wondering what happened if he like, let forty
- 37:29Speaker 1: like or you or somebody like just an r an
- 37:32Speaker 1: album and be like the.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Album with Alchemists was an Alchemist.
- 37:36Speaker 1: The Alchemist album was hard. That was the Alchemist to
- 37:40Speaker 1: Chains album. But yes, yes he has a solo album
- 37:42Speaker 1: with aut and then the album two. I mean that
- 37:44Speaker 1: album is incredible. It's one of my favorite ABMs of
- 37:45Speaker 1: the year.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So, but like he when he jumps on a plow
- 37:49Speaker 1: beat or some ship, You'll be like, oh, I wonder
- 37:52Speaker 1: what ten of those would sound like from Larry.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I'm'm pretty sure he's got it too. I
- 37:57Speaker 2: think he's a serial record where it just makes a
- 38:01Speaker 2: lot of songs.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Are you still pretty like sero recorder?
- 38:05Speaker 2: Like yeah, but I've always worked in increments, like.
- 38:09Speaker 1: You're like, Okay, for this month, we're just getting a
- 38:11Speaker 1: lot of Dutch, you know.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I would be like this season got so I'm like,
- 38:15Speaker 2: when it's cold and ugly outside, let's go in the studio.
- 38:18Speaker 2: And then otherwise the off season in summertime, I'm like,
- 38:23Speaker 2: I don't know, bro, I'm not gonna be around, Like
- 38:26Speaker 2: I get going and I I work when when it's
- 38:30Speaker 2: born outside.
- 38:32Speaker 1: You have this like string of second Era two short
- 38:38Speaker 1: songs that aren't necessarily like blow the Whistle level, but
- 38:41Speaker 1: are like, no matter where you go, you might hear
- 38:44Speaker 1: my gangsters and strippers just slide down the bar a
- 38:46Speaker 1: bird Robert, Like you got all these records? Can you
- 38:50Speaker 1: just speak to Like, because I think about your career
- 38:55Speaker 1: and Little John E forty and somehow how you guys
- 39:00Speaker 1: are just kind of intertwined with each other the last
- 39:04Speaker 1: seventeen No, I mean, if you think about Little John,
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's longer than that.
- 39:07Speaker 2: But the connection is the bpms.
- 39:13Speaker 1: It's like that one hundred to like one oh seven,
- 39:17Speaker 1: just call it one hundred, yeah, one hundred bpms.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Man, that is something in that tempo just cooks up.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I don't know music that we love, it's just that
- 39:29Speaker 2: that's the magic number. And these are things you could
- 39:33Speaker 2: tell people that would only make the world better. Like
- 39:34Speaker 2: it's not like, don't tell them the secret, but it's
- 39:39Speaker 2: the BPM. And we just found through everything we did separately,
- 39:43Speaker 2: we just found this kindred spirit. And you know, Little
- 39:47Speaker 2: John gave it to a lot of people. Yeah, he
- 39:50Speaker 2: gave that tempo to a lot of people, and a
- 39:53Speaker 2: lot of people caught on either through subconsciously, like it
- 39:59Speaker 2: was loud and clear hypee movement about one ten, just Hyphie,
- 40:04Speaker 2: make it go and we're talking about BPM beats PERMITTI
- 40:09Speaker 2: And then somewhere when it spread out a little bit,
- 40:15Speaker 2: I can I got a playlist, like I proved this conversation.
- 40:19Speaker 2: I prove my point to people and it's like I
- 40:22Speaker 2: can play you down South artists, East Coast, all around,
- 40:29Speaker 2: you know, nower cal, So cal, just people from everywhere
- 40:34Speaker 2: playing that tempo. But they're not just playing that tempo.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Sounds very hyphee, is very Bay is, very West Coast.
- 40:43Speaker 2: And then when it becomes a full fledged West Coast thing,
- 40:49Speaker 2: you know, feel like DJ Muster's version of one hundred bpm,
- 40:54Speaker 2: then it takes on a whole new life of.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I mean the ones when I think of like the
- 41:01Speaker 1: Tiger Rax City moment, it's just I want to that's
- 41:04Speaker 1: some base shit too. You know, that was like Tiger
- 41:06Speaker 1: was in Vegas.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But I'm saying when it when it becomes more of
- 41:09Speaker 2: the tempo and not the.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Hyphie one hundred percent, it's just West Coast. I mean,
- 41:13Speaker 1: I think, like, what do you think about this? Because
- 41:15Speaker 1: I think obviously you and forty and blow the whistle
- 41:18Speaker 1: on all that. And then I feel like the Pack
- 41:20Speaker 1: kind of did their own version of it that turned
- 41:24Speaker 1: into like the Mustard thing, because I feel like the
- 41:26Speaker 1: Pack doesn't get enough love.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I think the Pack is important because of who they
- 41:29Speaker 2: influenced and who they did, what they what they did
- 41:33Speaker 2: before they and who they did it before. Yep, and
- 41:36Speaker 2: like you can't, you can't really like you don't take
- 41:40Speaker 2: just this one project and a couple of mixtapes they
- 41:42Speaker 2: put out and go, this was the Pack. It was great.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Like it's not enough for people to argue the point,
- 41:47Speaker 2: but the timing of it, if you were there, they
- 41:50Speaker 2: did what they did before a lot of people. And
- 41:52Speaker 2: then god knows who who the base God Little Beat.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Influenced because it's such an important figure.
- 42:00Speaker 2: They say it all day. The bass guy liberated me
- 42:04Speaker 2: and he did something.
- 42:05Speaker 1: This guy had a whole entire wave of people on
- 42:08Speaker 1: Twitter asking him to fuck their bitch.
- 42:11Speaker 2: But guess what else the songs that the Pack recorded,
- 42:16Speaker 2: bass guy wrote the hook.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Yeah, nah, he's he's a prolific guy.
- 42:20Speaker 2: So they were, they were. I think another thing that
- 42:26Speaker 2: that they did they played the party in is you
- 42:29Speaker 2: know how you know how when rappers are rapped and
- 42:32Speaker 2: you go, I don't think this guy really raps that good.
- 42:36Speaker 2: But the song is still like my favorite.
- 42:38Speaker 1: It's still hard.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I think they were early on that too, because
- 42:41Speaker 2: all three of them, Little you know, stun It and
- 42:44Speaker 2: Little Be they had this little kid kind of flowing.
- 42:47Speaker 2: It's like I'm just saying I'm happy and I'm feeling good.
- 42:50Speaker 2: It wasn't really like a rapper flow, and then that
- 42:53Speaker 2: shit turned out to be really fucking popular.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Shout out to Raffi Log Group our family. Yes, it's
- 42:59Speaker 1: been so dope to partner with, you know, such a
- 43:01Speaker 1: name and brand and somebody who I actually am a
- 43:04Speaker 1: customer of. Shout out to Raffi Law Group, man Arizona's
- 43:07Speaker 1: premier personal injury law firm. And I don't just put
- 43:11Speaker 1: my name on anybody when we do this stuff on
- 43:14Speaker 1: the Bootleg cap podcast and you see us partnering with brands,
- 43:16Speaker 1: We're very selective about who we connect with. And Raffi
- 43:20Speaker 1: is someone who's actually helped my family, helped my wife
- 43:23Speaker 1: get a settlement, all right, has helped over seventy thousand
- 43:26Speaker 1: people in Arizona. No matter what happens, Man, car accident, crash, injury,
- 43:32Speaker 1: you maybe get bit by a dog, I don't know,
- 43:34Speaker 1: whatever it is, Raffi Law Group makes the process less stressful.
- 43:39Speaker 1: They put money in your pocket. Yes, the name you
- 43:42Speaker 1: can trust, you already know Man Raffi Law Group. Save
- 43:45Speaker 1: the number just in case, because hey, you get into
- 43:47Speaker 1: a car accident tomorrow. You gotta call Raffi six two
- 43:50Speaker 1: three three eight eight four three three three and want
- 43:54Speaker 1: to wish a big happy birthday to Raffi's just celebrated
- 43:57Speaker 1: his fortieth birthday. We had a good time in Vegas.
- 44:00Speaker 1: He sent was there, Pauli d was there, mad Rich
- 44:02Speaker 1: was there. E c Rock was there. It was a
- 44:05Speaker 1: movie all right, Secretary of State was there. We were
- 44:08Speaker 1: just hanging out. Man. Look shout out to Brandon Raffi.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Don't forget Raffie Law Group. The only calling you to
- 44:13Speaker 1: make if you're an AZ and you get into an

- 44:19Speaker 1: they'll take care you immediately. Call Raffi. Baby, let's get
- 44:22Speaker 1: back to the podcast. I know you and Messi Marv
- 44:25Speaker 1: had your issues back in the day. It seems like
- 44:28Speaker 1: he's not doing too good. I've been seeing him kind
- 44:29Speaker 1: of go viral for for kind of how he's doing.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Is that something that comes across your timeline or I.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Know all about it, man, I don't know how it
- 44:38Speaker 2: came to be. I know that all the things that
- 44:43Speaker 2: he was doing at a certain time in his career,
- 44:46Speaker 2: trying to pick everybody one by one and assassinate you
- 44:50Speaker 2: as a lyrical MC and a street threat and all that.
- 44:53Speaker 2: It was never it was never really real life. It
- 44:58Speaker 2: was some EMC Twitter days.
- 45:01Speaker 1: It felt like some fifty cent how to rob type shit.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Send it, send out a couple of tweets saying I'm
- 45:06Speaker 2: about to have somebody pull up on you and knock
- 45:07Speaker 2: you down. It was just it was I think it was.
- 45:11Speaker 2: I really think that it was some early signs of
- 45:15Speaker 2: what was to come. And I guess he's just an
- 45:19Speaker 2: extremist man and didn't have the right people to while
- 45:23Speaker 2: it was happening to say to make him stop, or
- 45:27Speaker 2: now where it's at right now, to get in and
- 45:30Speaker 2: make it stop. I would love to think that I
- 45:33Speaker 2: have the closest of friends and relatives.
- 45:36Speaker 1: That would not let the wall, yeah, like you know,
- 45:40Speaker 1: have an intervention.
- 45:41Speaker 2: And if I hit it all the way, they would
- 45:42Speaker 2: be like, you know, bring that ship back in a
- 45:46Speaker 2: relentless kind of way. And I know that he got
- 45:49Speaker 2: people that love him out there like that. And I
- 45:51Speaker 2: can't speak on it because if I, if I was,
- 45:54Speaker 2: if that was me and he wanted to have a
- 45:56Speaker 2: conversation about it without without Oakland's approval, that would be
- 46:01Speaker 2: like that ain't your business, that's town business. And you know,
- 46:05Speaker 2: I'm like, that's either Fresco business, film mode binished. And
- 46:11Speaker 2: he's he's one of the greats. We always gonna say
- 46:13Speaker 2: he's one of the greats, one of the Bay Area's
- 46:15Speaker 2: greatest to do it. But at this point, somebody gotta
- 46:18Speaker 2: do some uplifting and and somebody gotta change the story.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I have a Jewish homie who wanted me to ask
- 46:25Speaker 1: you about your honka song, which I don't think people realize.
- 46:29Speaker 1: There is a too short.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Honk a song and that's the title of it.
- 46:32Speaker 1: It is literally called made you make a song?
- 46:36Speaker 2: That's a TMZ story man. You know Harvey, Yeah, Harvey,
- 46:43Speaker 2: I don't I think he might have asked for it
- 46:46Speaker 2: or something something. Somehow. You gotta let my boy, Kevin
- 46:50Speaker 2: Black Tay Kbill tell you the story. So KB, who's Jewish.
- 46:55Speaker 2: I don't know how we get this. It was a
- 46:57Speaker 2: Harvey request or was it something that we thought of
- 46:59Speaker 2: that Harvey would put on TMC. I don't know how
- 47:02Speaker 2: it worked out. But KB gives me all the talking
- 47:05Speaker 2: points of what you would say in a hanaka song
- 47:09Speaker 2: and he explains to me, this is what this means
- 47:11Speaker 2: this is that And I just wrote a song. He
- 47:14Speaker 2: was even trying to, you know, even like help write
- 47:16Speaker 2: write it with me, give me like some some little do.
- 47:19Speaker 1: You get like like that has to be shit that
- 47:21Speaker 1: gets like played randomly at like bar Mitzvah's that you're
- 47:24Speaker 1: even like.
- 47:25Speaker 2: It comes up every year during the holidays. Yeah, somebody
- 47:31Speaker 2: get a spike, somebody mentions it. I've had endless Jewish
- 47:36Speaker 2: people tell me they know of it, So it's somebody
- 47:38Speaker 2: is sending it around. I think it's a it's probably
- 47:41Speaker 2: like an attachment kind of thing social media. Use it
- 47:45Speaker 2: for the music, for something funny you do during the holidays.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I assume the number nineteen nine and ninety nine was hyperbole.
- 47:53Speaker 2: It was a jab at the Wilt Chamberlain right.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Wilt had his thing.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Wilt wrote a book. According to book, he said he
- 48:00Speaker 2: had sex with twenty thousand women and me with my calculator,
- 48:05Speaker 2: I put it on the calculator to see what that was,
- 48:08Speaker 2: and it comes up to something crazy, and they we're like,
- 48:10Speaker 2: you gotta.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Have a your whole life's fucking.
- 48:12Speaker 2: You gotta have like a threesome every day for like
- 48:15Speaker 2: twenty thirty years insane.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Do you remember, because I think like as young men,
- 48:20Speaker 1: we always will keep a body count back in the days,
- 48:22Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, but then there was like a point
- 48:25Speaker 1: in time, like not to make myself sound like a whore,
- 48:28Speaker 1: but there was a point in time where I just
- 48:29Speaker 1: stopped counting and.
- 48:30Speaker 2: I stop, you gotta cut that shit out.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Do you remember the number from when you last knew
- 48:35Speaker 1: your number?
- 48:37Speaker 2: Crazy? Man? I'll tell you like this, I did not
- 48:43Speaker 2: write that song that was you know, when I was
- 48:46Speaker 2: working on the Pimp album, I brought mister Fab in
- 48:50Speaker 2: shot to Fab. We had a technique we were doing
- 48:53Speaker 2: for the Pimp album, Fab with because he totally motivated
- 48:57Speaker 2: that album. I was not thinking about making an out.
- 49:00Speaker 2: I was enjoying my life. This was, you know, twenty fifteen.
- 49:04Speaker 2: I was out having a ball, oh, running it up,
- 49:07Speaker 2: and He's like, got to make an album, man, a
- 49:09Speaker 2: star studied album with a bunch of features. We went
- 49:12Speaker 2: through this whole process of how we got all these
- 49:14Speaker 2: features and all this stuff. And Fab had a technique
- 49:17Speaker 2: where I was like, just go in there and freestyle one,
- 49:21Speaker 2: take freestyle whatever you freestyle, and take the freestyle, and
- 49:24Speaker 2: I'm going to write a verse from it, and we
- 49:26Speaker 2: did that shit for a lot of songs, and he
- 49:28Speaker 2: came up with that nineteen thousand ninety nine bitches, I'm
- 49:32Speaker 2: all you will, and it was just it was funny, man.
- 49:35Speaker 2: We got to get laugh off that shit.
- 49:36Speaker 1: No, I think.
- 49:36Speaker 2: I think.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I think from like a perception of like a little
- 49:39Speaker 1: kid who grew up listening to your music. I just
- 49:41Speaker 1: assumed that you had had more sex than anyone in
- 49:43Speaker 1: the world because you're fucking too short. Is that like
- 49:48Speaker 1: it's like that in the Pimp and shit. I feel
- 49:50Speaker 1: like just fans got to be like, yo, if you
- 49:52Speaker 1: listen to Two Shorts music, you have like a perception
- 49:54Speaker 1: of him, especially.
- 49:56Speaker 2: So if you've been listening to one end, you got
- 49:59Speaker 2: the the lure of the legend, yes that it could
- 50:03Speaker 2: be told in the story, right, But then on the
- 50:07Speaker 2: other end, early on you would have probably said, well,
- 50:11Speaker 2: I used to see him all the time. It was
- 50:12Speaker 2: with like eight bitches, just walking by myself. And you know,
- 50:18Speaker 2: then you got photo shoots and videos to sell the dream.
- 50:23Speaker 2: There's a lot of stuff out there in the in
- 50:27Speaker 2: the universal files of Two Shorts, bitches, but I could
- 50:34Speaker 2: never tell because you know, we're talking about people's mothers
- 50:39Speaker 2: and aunties. Now somebody's wife like like like if I
- 50:46Speaker 2: started talking and ship, that's.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Just stigma, Like you are kind of the guy who
- 50:51Speaker 1: coined the player ship for real? Did that stigma ever
- 50:54Speaker 1: hurt you with like a girl who you were like
- 50:56Speaker 1: really trying to like do like being a serious situation with.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I clash with about a handful just on subject
- 51:05Speaker 2: matter image a present day song that just like like whoa,
- 51:10Speaker 2: why would you say that? And it's like, you know,
- 51:13Speaker 2: some some of that shit sounds so precise that it's like,
- 51:17Speaker 2: you know, like a recent ex girlfriend called after an
- 51:20Speaker 2: album drops and goes, what the fuck, bro, you can
- 51:22Speaker 2: talk about me. I'm like, I didn't say anything about you,
- 51:25Speaker 2: and they're like, bullshit, so you did that to me?
- 51:30Speaker 2: And it has always been an over exaggerated truth. Too
- 51:39Speaker 2: short shit is meant to be extra player and it's
- 51:43Speaker 2: meant to be hilarious, laugh at it, and then these
- 51:47Speaker 2: stories are just you know, this is another thing I said.
- 51:51Speaker 2: If I wasn't too short the rapper, I could have
- 51:54Speaker 2: been the guy who directed a series of movies with
- 51:57Speaker 2: a character too short.
- 51:58Speaker 1: What I'm saying, bro, Like I'm telling you you already
- 52:00Speaker 1: got Simba to play you, you can put some ship together.
- 52:04Speaker 2: If I if I did too short the TV series
- 52:06Speaker 2: and it was sort of like pretend to be true
- 52:10Speaker 2: to the music character and not to flick, you know,
- 52:13Speaker 2: too short to be a motherfucker develop it.
- 52:16Speaker 1: But by the way, how cool was it to see
- 52:18Speaker 1: because Sima did such a good job playing you, And
- 52:21Speaker 1: like Simba, he's a good friend and he's just such
- 52:24Speaker 1: an amazing talented guy. But like when you first saw
- 52:27Speaker 1: him and.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I got a steal photo and I was like, dope.
- 52:31Speaker 2: They pulled it off. They figured it out, and then
- 52:33Speaker 2: I started acting and I told him, I told him, brother,
- 52:39Speaker 2: I haven't talked about this in a while, but I
- 52:40Speaker 2: told him, I said, you nailed it on the head,
- 52:43Speaker 2: everything except eating pussy before a show. Like in one
- 52:47Speaker 2: scene and I think it's his opening scene when he
- 52:50Speaker 2: the first time he's on camera. He he's getting ready
- 52:53Speaker 2: to do a show and he's got his face in
- 52:58Speaker 2: between the girl's legs and then come up and like,
- 53:00Speaker 2: oh it's time to get on stage. Something. I'm like,
- 53:02Speaker 2: never ever with that, ever ever happened.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Ever, Let's be clear, I might get my dicks up
- 53:08Speaker 1: before the concert, but I'm not before. Come on, that's insane.
- 53:13Speaker 2: But you know what, so the entertainer in me. I
- 53:16Speaker 2: saw a couple of screenings, and I saw it after
- 53:20Speaker 2: it came out, and every time I seen Popped, the
- 53:23Speaker 2: people laughed. I'm like entertainment.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Who walks on the new album that's dropping Friday?
- 53:28Speaker 2: Damn, you're gonna make me have to go to this well.
- 53:31Speaker 2: It's produced by Little John, so he's he pops up
- 53:35Speaker 2: on the album. Sugar Freeze on there, Sweeties on there.
- 53:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna forget somebody of course. Uh of course, Tiger
- 53:45Speaker 2: Snow the products on there. Mount west Moore is on there.
- 53:48Speaker 1: So there's a Mount wes Moore track, Everybody Together on one.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I literally took it off the Mount Westmore album, the
- 53:54Speaker 2: unreleased album. I picked the I picked the most likely
- 53:58Speaker 2: song that wouldn't have made the album, but it's dope
- 54:00Speaker 2: as hell. Yeah, and that's the one that made it.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Who am I Missing Somebody? That I was just about
- 54:07Speaker 2: to say and I forgot. I got a little skit
- 54:10Speaker 2: with me and god Free, the comedian who am I missing?
- 54:15Speaker 2: Yelling out? If you know? And King George in South Yeah,
- 54:21Speaker 2: that's my guy.
- 54:22Speaker 1: One monkey, don't stop the show. Yeah, that's my ship
- 54:26Speaker 1: some player ship too. That's some too short ship for real.
- 54:28Speaker 2: We did a player song together.
- 54:29Speaker 1: That's is it like in that vein of that like
- 54:31Speaker 1: it's his style.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Little John wanted that.
- 54:34Speaker 1: That's gonna go crazy.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Little John wanted that that's I don't know if you
- 54:38Speaker 2: call it southern something. Yeah. Uh.
- 54:44Speaker 1: You got to know the product on the album minutes
- 54:47Speaker 1: before having to turn it in.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so we had to literally like turn the album
- 54:54Speaker 2: in at ten am, and at one in the morning
- 54:57Speaker 2: we were still working on.
- 54:58Speaker 1: It and this was you go you at her house.
- 55:00Speaker 1: She does a live stream.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Yep, you know she's gonna stream everything.
- 55:04Speaker 1: So you guys did the record on her stream the
- 55:07Speaker 1: whole time.
- 55:08Speaker 2: That's fire And we had people like commenting on what
- 55:11Speaker 2: direction the song should go in and that's hard what
- 55:14Speaker 2: to say and that kind of stuff.
- 55:16Speaker 1: That is fire man. Well, listen, the album is dropping.
- 55:19Speaker 1: You are, so there's two more volumes coming, right, Yeah,
- 55:22Speaker 1: can you explain just remind everybody Volume three, Volume four
- 55:25Speaker 1: we know. Volume two is the joint album with John.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Volume one was the throwback. Yes, we go listen to
- 55:31Speaker 2: it right now. It was intentionally freaky tales. Yeah, That's
- 55:35Speaker 2: why the SAR two short Volume one, it's really supposed
- 55:39Speaker 2: to feel a little unpolished. Yeah, and then we follow
- 55:43Speaker 2: up because I didn't want to just drop the Little
- 55:45Speaker 2: John first. Everybody, you gotta put a Little John out first.
- 55:47Speaker 2: I'm like, no, let's build up to it a little bit.
- 55:50Speaker 2: So then the one that follows up Little John is
- 55:52Speaker 2: sort of the same energy, because you know, I worked
- 55:56Speaker 2: that vibe that that one hundred with other producers and
- 55:59Speaker 2: stuff some Little John on there. Of course, then and
- 56:03Speaker 2: Banks reappears, and Banks is all over the first volume,
- 56:06Speaker 2: so he popps back up on volume three. It's you know,
- 56:09Speaker 2: I got a producer out of Bakersfield named Decades who
- 56:15Speaker 2: works with forty and this stuff with cubes, a lot
- 56:18Speaker 2: of people. A lot of his energy is on the
- 56:23Speaker 2: Little John songs because we're working on a lot of songs.
- 56:26Speaker 2: And when Little John gave me the beats, I took
- 56:28Speaker 2: some of the stuff I was working on Decades when
- 56:30Speaker 2: I applied it to the Little Johnt beats because Decades
- 56:32Speaker 2: got all these dope ass high energy hooks and shit.
- 56:35Speaker 2: So Decades is weaving through all the all the tracks.
- 56:41Speaker 2: When you get the volume three, it's got good energy.
- 56:43Speaker 2: It's gonna give you a little bit of an intro
- 56:49Speaker 2: to Volume four, which is more like us the serious
- 56:53Speaker 2: too short that isn't going to appear on any of
- 56:56Speaker 2: these volumes. To the end, you know, it sounds like
- 56:58Speaker 2: the Ghetto and the Reks too shit or of course
- 57:00Speaker 2: getting it. That vibe is.
- 57:02Speaker 1: All Volume four.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Volume four fire Man, after everybody goes this old ass
- 57:07Speaker 2: motherfucking child is right about this ship pep and shit
- 57:09Speaker 2: and blah blah blah. Did I hit him with the
- 57:11Speaker 2: grown man shit last? That's fire Man.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Well, listen, I hope you can convince your band members
- 57:18Speaker 1: to put out the album that you talked about earlier. Uh,
- 57:22Speaker 1: and I'm looking forward to hearing the Little John Project
- 57:25Speaker 1: in its entirety. Yeah, is there anybody because I think
- 57:30Speaker 1: of like, because you were you'll do a joint album?
- 57:33Speaker 1: You forty got joint albums. Is there anybody who you
- 57:36Speaker 1: haven't done a joint album? You talked about sugar Freeze
- 57:38Speaker 1: on that flight you're a sugar free go crazy for ten.
- 57:40Speaker 2: That would probably be the one, Yeah, you were sugar free.
- 57:43Speaker 2: That would just probably be like the one that so
- 57:45Speaker 2: many people at this age ogs they will love us
- 57:48Speaker 2: to just like like be Bb King and Bobby Blue Bland,
- 57:52Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Yeah, nah, even like I even think like a guy
- 57:55Speaker 1: like you know, someone like Plow or even Sweetie. You're
- 57:58Speaker 1: Sweety doing a joint project Ago Crazy, you know what
- 58:00Speaker 1: I'm saying. So she talked that, Yeah, she she talked
- 58:03Speaker 1: that shit.
- 58:03Speaker 2: For sure.
- 58:03Speaker 1: She got pretty privilege. They say, do you think that's
- 58:07Speaker 1: a thing. There's this pretty privilege shit going on right now.
- 58:10Speaker 1: The girl got pulled up on the on stage.
- 58:12Speaker 2: I know, but I just don't know if it's negative
- 58:15Speaker 2: or positive? Like what is it?
- 58:17Speaker 1: I guess that the girl said she got there was
- 58:20Speaker 1: the girl who got.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Pulled up on But is it positive or negative?
- 58:22Speaker 1: I think it's supposed to be positive. But then if
- 58:25Speaker 1: something goes wrong, they'll say, oh, you just hate on
- 58:27Speaker 1: me because I'm pretty.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Oh damn. So the pretty girl's the victim. I thought
- 58:31Speaker 2: it was there's a privilege because I thought he were complaining.
- 58:35Speaker 1: No, it's the pretty women that made up this word.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Sweety talked about having pretty privilege and yeah, do you
- 58:42Speaker 1: feel like the the like hard sevens are always kind
- 58:45Speaker 1: of like the safe bet when it comes to it.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Well, that's a that's a barbershop conversation hard seven soft eights.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I do know that I'm not really following this pretty privilege, yeah,
- 59:00Speaker 2: but I do know that there's a gang of pretty problems.
- 59:02Speaker 1: There are a pretty problems.
- 59:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so say you know the pretty problems that somebody
- 59:06Speaker 2: else wouldn't have and take it a leave it.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Short, My guy Man, Volume two comes out Friday by
