- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, Adam here. Now, if you've ever felt that
- 0:42you're holding onto emotions from your past, maybe things
- 0:46like blame or shame or anger, frustration or guilt, this could
- 0:51be the session for you. I was working with a client that
- 0:54felt that their suppressed emotions or emotions they were
- 0:57holding onto may actually be causing some kind of a health
- 1:01issue. So they wanted a way of
- 1:03releasing that in a way that they didn't have to think about
- 1:06or process sometimes painful memories.
- 1:09So this hypnosis session uses a metaphor of a kayak because they
- 1:14like to kayak and they're out on the kayak on a, on a, in
- 1:17Scotland, they call it a lock. In England we would call it a
- 1:19lake, and there is a metaphor for them to identify suppressed
- 1:23emotions and then imagine them as a Pebble or a rock or a
- 1:27crystal in their hand and then throwing that into the lake and
- 1:32seeing it sink. And I think this would be useful
- 1:35for anyone that just wants to clear the slate to really
- 1:39release any suppressed emotions. So if you feel that that might
- 1:42be possible, have a listen to this session and you might get
- 1:46some value from it. If you like the idea of working
- 1:48with me directly, there will be a link in the description of the
- 1:52show notes where you can schedule a free consultation
- 1:54call. And there's also a suitability
- 1:57test there as well. For now, though, find a quiet,
- 2:00comfortable place where you're not going to be disturbed.
- 2:03Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 2:34you breathe in, breathe in that feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 2:41And as you exhale, just allow your eyelids to close and
- 2:46position your body in such a way that you increase your ability
- 2:52to really let go, to feel calm and relaxed.
- 2:58And as you breathe in, just scan your body for any clues of
- 3:01tension, maybe around the jaw, the neck, or the shoulders, and
- 3:07set the intention to release so much so that in your outward
- 3:14breath, you could imagine that tension leaving your body breath
- 3:23by breath, getting deeper, longer and more relaxed.
- 3:34Each breath takes you deeper than the last as you allow
- 3:41everything to slow down, to slow down your mind and feel that
- 3:52wonderful feeling of letting go. And as you breathe in, I want
- 4:01you to imagine breathing in a bright white healing light.
- 4:09Imagine breathing in through your nose and imagine that
- 4:13healing white light going down your windpipe but healing
- 4:20everything around it, around the throat, esophagus, all the way
- 4:29down the stomach is close to the lungs.
- 4:34And just imagine that healing white light in your lungs and
- 4:40everything from the stomach upwards is also healing,
- 4:45settling, calming. And imagine that healing white
- 4:52light going down into the gut. So many worries and anxiety also
- 5:00melt away. And the deeper you breathe, more
- 5:05of that healing white light goes in.
- 5:10And as you exhale, just imagine anything corrosive, toxic, or
- 5:17harsh. It's just leaving your body in
- 5:21your outward breath, making you feel that sense of increasing
- 5:29levels of relaxation and health and exhaling any tension or
- 5:37toxicity. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 5:42more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 5:48the deeper you breathe. And as your body relaxes, your
- 5:55imagination awakens. And I want you to imagine your
- 6:02physical body remains, but your imagination can float.
- 6:07And just imagine floating out of your body above your own head,
- 6:13looking down, seeing you there, looking comfortable and relaxed.
- 6:20Just imagine floating through the ceiling, through the roof,
- 6:23into the sky as you decide to go on an adventure within your
- 6:32imagination. And I wonder if you could
- 6:36imagine a particular lock that you would like to visit.
- 6:45And I want you to imagine floating over hills and valleys,
- 6:52perhaps mountains, to get to that stretch of Stillwater on a
- 7:01peaceful day under sunshine. Just imagine touching down by
- 7:08the side of that water and seeing a kayak.
- 7:15And I want you to get a sense then you feel compelled to get
- 7:23into the kayak and take yourself right into the middle of that
- 7:30Stillwater and feel a sense of peace, of relaxation.
- 7:42And maybe you can imagine hearing the gentle movement of
- 7:46water against the kayak. Maybe you could imagine the
- 7:52feeling of warm sunshine on your skin, the freshness in the air.
- 8:02And I want you to get a sense that this is a healing ritual.
- 8:12There are many health conditions that are caused by diet and many
- 8:20that are caused by genetics, but one less detected cause can be
- 8:34the psychosomatic ripple effect of holding onto emotions.
- 8:43I want you to imagine if someone was stressed every single day,
- 8:50that might lead to health issues, either because of what
- 8:55the stress does biochemically or what they do as a coping
- 9:00strategy to manage that stress. So when people say that stress
- 9:08is a killer, it's not the stress, it's the implications of
- 9:15that stress. But here in this kayak, in the
- 9:21middle of this Stillwater, I want you to feel that right now
- 9:26is a good time to let go of any suppressed or hidden emotions.
- 9:39If you think of something like a grudge, isn't that holding on to
- 9:45anger or resentment sometimes months or even years after the
- 9:52original event? And you can consider that an
- 9:58unuseful and some would say a toxic emotion.
- 10:04And what if you don't need to hold on to any unresourceful
- 10:11emotions right now? But let's start with an easy
- 10:25one. I want you to scan your body for
- 10:29any feelings of stress. Sometimes stress is there in the
- 10:36neck and the shoulders, sometimes in the forehead, the
- 10:40temple of the jaw. Sometimes certain muscles are
- 10:45tensed without us even knowing. And I want you to think of what
- 10:53colour you would give to stress. And I want you to imagine
- 11:02locating any stress, either current or historical.
- 11:09And I want you to feel that it is all compressing.
- 11:18Consider stress tiny deposits of minerals, and you're finding all
- 11:23of them together and compressing them.
- 11:28And just imagine that it's all shifting into one of your hands.
- 11:34And I want you to see initially a speck of grit.
- 11:40Just imagine it there in one of your hands, there while you're
- 11:44in the kayak. But that grit turns into a
- 11:51larger cluster of grit, and then perhaps a small Pebble or a
- 11:59little stone. Now, how big this stone gets
- 12:05depends on how much stress you can find in your body.
- 12:12And just allow your unconscious to accept the suggestion that it
- 12:17moves into your hand, into the palm of your hand, like it's a
- 12:23physical object like a stone. And maybe that stone has a
- 12:28colour represented by whatever colour feels that stress would
- 12:34be. And then what?
- 12:37You can imagine that small stone, or even a big stone of
- 12:45historical stress accumulated over the years, and it's there
- 12:50as a physical object now in your hand.
- 12:52Let me know by nodding your head.
- 12:53And when you feel that you've held
- 13:09onto this stress for too long or long enough, I want you to
- 13:14imagine either dropping the stone or hurling the stone
- 13:17somewhere into that water. Hear the plop and just know that
- 13:24it's sinking down, all the way down.
- 13:29And you can retain the wisdom as to why that stress came about
- 13:33without needing to hold on to that stress.
- 13:38And when that stress has been released, we can consider that a
- 13:43practice emotion because the real emotion we're looking for
- 13:49is anger. An anger can be justified anger
- 13:57or unjustified anger because there has been times that you
- 14:02got really angry and only later found out that it was
- 14:09disproportionate to the cause. And sometimes people feel anger
- 14:15in their heart, they gut, sometimes they jaw or somewhere
- 14:20else. And I want you to scan your body
- 14:25for where that anger could be, trusting that your unconscious
- 14:29knows where to find it. And again, moving it into your
- 14:33hand to create an object, maybe a crystal, a stone, a Pebble, a
- 14:42rock. You decide what kind, but this
- 14:48might be a heavier object, more intense, and just allow your
- 14:58body to find that anger. But as it moves from those
- 15:01locations into your hand, your body is already starting to feel
- 15:07lighter. When you feel that you've
- 15:12distilled all of that historical anger to that object in your
- 15:17hand that you know by nodding your head, that's it.
- 15:22And this one we definitely want to throw far, far away.
- 15:29But as you throw it, you feel empowered.
- 15:36And you don't have to forgive anyone to release anger.
- 15:39You just have to decide that you don't want to hold on to that
- 15:42anger anymore, so feel that it's far away, sinking deep, deep
- 15:49down, right to the bottom, never to be found again.
- 15:54And then let's look for blame. Blame can come from judgement of
- 16:03others, but more often than not it's self blame where you were
- 16:11the judge, the jury, and the executioner.
- 16:16And sometimes blame can be like a poison within.
- 16:24Blame can sometimes feel like it has its own location for some
- 16:32people, might be the back of the throat or deep down in the
- 16:37torso. Sometimes people, when they let
- 16:43go of shame, say they've feel like a weight's been lifted off
- 16:47their shoulders. But I want you to scan your body
- 16:51for any blame, and one of the things that can help speed up
- 16:58that process is to forgive yourself.
- 17:08You've already learned from the past some of the things you're
- 17:12blaming yourself for had no malicious intention anyway, and
- 17:17even if it did, you're human. These things happen to all of
- 17:22us. But the blame is optional,
- 17:28because the purpose of blame is not to punish, but to shift
- 17:33future behaviour, to scan your body.
- 17:36Feel that blame perhaps going into the other hand now and
- 17:43maybe it creates a shiny stone or something heavy like a
- 17:51mineral like iron or lead. And when you feel that any blame
- 18:03or perhaps shame connected to that blame is there in your
- 18:08hand, let me know by nodding your head
- 18:26and just accumulate even more, just will it intend it.
- 18:36Because if the purpose of the blame was to punish yourself,
- 18:41you've already done that. You've paid the price many times
- 18:46over. Anything more would be like
- 18:50serving a prison sentence for a murder for a speeding ticket.
- 18:58And if you accept that some of this blame or shame or judgement
- 19:04is now disproportionate, no longer serves you, just holds
- 19:11you back. Feel it move into your hand, see
- 19:15the object, and then when you're ready, throw it far away from
- 19:21the kayak and see it sink all the way down deep down.
- 19:29And you can retain the memory. Just lose any emotion connected
- 19:34to any memory. Just feel it all go away.
- 19:42And let's look for any regrets. Regrets can be painful, and
- 19:51there's two things that people tend to regret.
- 19:55The things they did that they wish they didn't.
- 20:00But more often than not, it's the things they never did but
- 20:03wished they did. To scan your body for any
- 20:07regret, distill it into a physical object, big or small,
- 20:14whatever comes up is what it should be.
- 20:17And then allow it to sink deep, deep down.
- 20:24And then let's look for any remaining emotions that are
- 20:27holding you back. This might be sadness,
- 20:32frustrations, guilt. It may be a feeling of
- 20:43unworthiness. I want you to scan your body for
- 20:49any fears, worries and let's distill all of these emotions
- 20:56into a multi coloured stone, almost a fusion of different
- 21:03stones all in one, like an elaborate crystal.
- 21:07And when you have all of them, they're in that hand.
- 21:14You may notice your body feel lighter and then just decide to
- 21:19throw that cocktail of emotions deep, deep into the water.
- 21:31The mind is like nature. It doesn't like a vacuum.
- 21:37So let's replace it with something more useful.
- 21:41I want you to replace it with worthiness, confidence, a deep
- 21:47inner peace. Let's change blame to
- 21:51understanding, anger to compassion, wonderful feelings
- 21:58of self acceptance. And in doing so, I want you to
- 22:04feel that your body feels lighter, and any volatility
- 22:10inside your body is calming down.
- 22:18I want you to imagine a volcano on the verge of eruption,
- 22:24volatile, corrosive. But I want you to imagine that
- 22:31that's calming all the way down to a dormant volcano.
- 22:40The power still exists beneath the surface, but there is
- 22:44nothing that can erupt, corrode, or burn and still breathe in
- 22:56that healing white light, soothing whatever needs to be
- 23:01soothed and healing whatever needs to be healed.
- 23:11And that's you go back to the shore in that kayak.
- 23:17If anything else comes up, a thought, a belief, a feeling
- 23:24that is unresourceful, just imagine capturing it and
- 23:30throwing it overboard and just seeing it sink down as this is
- 23:39wiping the slate clean of those historical emotions.
- 23:47And just before you get to the surface, scan your body for any
- 23:50hate. It may not exist, but if it
- 23:54does, that can be a very potent emotion.
- 24:01Anything or anyone that you hate, just scan your body for
- 24:05the feeling connected to that and just decide to throw that
- 24:09overboard too. And then when you get to shore,
- 24:15just notice how much healthier and lighter you feel.
- 24:19And I want you to imagine that there will be a ripple effect in
- 24:28your mind that will affect your nervous system, which will
- 24:34affect hormones and neurotransmitters, which will
- 24:38affect unconscious physiological reactions.
- 24:43So don't be surprised, now that you've let go of these emotions,
- 24:49if your body feels like it's safe to just sleep, to relax.
- 24:57Nothing you need to do, and nothing you need to be just
- 25:03accepting. And what if that enables
- 25:09wonderful physical changes to happen to give you more choices,
- 25:15more options, and a better quality of life?
- 25:22Imagine you're now back on the shore and imagine you're
- 25:25floating all the way back up into the sky, but carrying all
- 25:30of these wonderful new emotions with you, remembering that those
- 25:35heavy, perhaps toxic emotions. And now at the bottom of that
- 25:42deep lock. So floating all the way back,
- 25:48seeing yourself and then climbing back into your own
- 25:52body, but taking these feelings with you.
- 25:57And very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 26:04So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 26:09nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 26:13your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 26:16here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 26:24you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 26:30456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:35Open your eyes, 910. Wide awake, Wide awake, wide
- 26:42awake. Thank you so much for joining me
- 27:07on today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 27:10And if you've enjoyed this show or got some benefit from it, you
- 27:15may know of one other friend or family member that may also
- 27:20benefit from this hypnosis session, in which case I'd like
- 27:23to ask a favor of you. And that is, if you could spend
- 27:2710 seconds to share this episode with someone that you know, that
- 27:31may also benefit, that would really help me to access new
- 27:36people that don't already know about this show.
- 27:40Thank you very much for listening and I will see you
- 27:42again on the next episode.
