Amana air conditioners are being recalled over 13,000 units due to a serious fire hazard — plastic components are melting. Models sold between April and December last year, mostly through HVAC dealers, include window and through-the-wall units installed in hotels, apartments, and commercial spaces. Daikin Comfort Technologies issued the recall urging immediate shutdown and refund. No injuries reported yet, but risk remains.
