- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello. Oh,
- 0:14Speaker 1: my gosh. Hello, Big Blue Nation. Sorry about that. That's
- 0:18Speaker 1: called fall weather right there when you hear that kind
- 0:21Speaker 1: of stuff. Good Lord, that was terrible. This is Michael Bennett,
- 0:25Speaker 1: Just the Cats, on this Wednesday, September 23rd. I got
- 0:30Speaker 1: through it. Thank you. I did it that time. As
- 0:33Speaker 1: you can tell from... You know, that guy over there
- 0:35Speaker 1: is with me today, Justin Kalin. If you want to
- 0:38Speaker 1: give us a call, 502-384-1450, 502-414-1450. You want to text
- 0:43Speaker 1: in on the Whiskey Thief text line or you can
- 0:46Speaker 1: tweet me at JustTheCatRadio. Yeah, fall is officially here. We
- 0:51Speaker 1: didn't even talk about it yesterday, but yesterday was the
- 0:53Speaker 1: first day of fall. Chilly. Now you get the rain involved,
- 0:58Speaker 1: trying to get all the pollen out, and that's what
- 1:00Speaker 1: happens to my throat. I will say, as soon as
- 1:03Speaker 1: I walked outside, I started immediately getting a headache. Do
- 1:06Speaker 1: you do that, Justin, when the weather is changing and
- 1:11Speaker 1: when there's maybe rain or storms in the air? Do
- 1:14Speaker 1: you get a bit of a headache and your head
- 1:16Speaker 1: adjusts negatively to the barometer?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Fortunately for me, no, I do not. I typically... I
- 1:24Speaker 2: don't get headaches. I might get two or three headaches
- 1:28Speaker 2: a year. So that's why when I do get them,
- 1:30Speaker 2: they're pretty crippling. But no, on a normal day to day,
- 1:33Speaker 2: I don't really have headaches.
- 1:34Speaker 1: See, I'm a typical Ohio Valley baby. Uh, because born
- 1:40Speaker 1: and raised here in Louisville, Kentucky, and we are in
- 1:42Speaker 1: the midst of the Ohio Valley, which is not good
- 1:45Speaker 1: for people like me with allergies. Cause you know, the, the,
- 1:49Speaker 1: the pollen, the dust, the everything just stays in this area.
- 1:53Speaker 1: And I've dealt with allergies all my life. I mean,
- 1:57Speaker 1: it's just, it's just horrible, but I had ear infections, uh,
- 2:02Speaker 1: the what are they called uh hearing tubes going down
- 2:06Speaker 1: my ear i can't tell you how many times because
- 2:08Speaker 1: i always get fluid in my ears i would get
- 2:12Speaker 1: i got my tonsils out i mean it was just
- 2:14Speaker 1: a childhood that was dealt with horribly with allergies.
- 2:17Speaker 2: See i didn't get allergies until i turned 30 oh
- 2:20Speaker 2: really yeah yeah When I turned 30, it was like
- 2:24Speaker 2: all hell broke loose.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Oh, it did? I wonder why 30 was the age.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I mean, my mom always had allergies, and I was
- 2:29Speaker 2: always very thankful that I didn't. But then, yeah, I
- 2:34Speaker 2: hit 30, and it was like, oh, here's your allergies,
- 2:36Speaker 2: big dog.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Oh, see, that really rots. Because I can tell you,
- 2:39Speaker 1: as a kid, I had them like crazy. Then, as
- 2:42Speaker 1: an adult, I don't have them as much as I
- 2:44Speaker 1: used to, but they seem to be creeping back in
- 2:47Speaker 1: a little bit. Uh-oh. And I've noticed when I've gone
- 2:49Speaker 1: out to the backside of Churchill Downs, you know, back
- 2:51Speaker 1: there with the horses. Taking in the horse manure. What's that?
- 2:55Speaker 1: You're taking in the horse manure. And, you know, here's
- 2:58Speaker 1: the crazy part. Sunday I went to a picnic, which
- 3:01Speaker 1: was really nice, on the backside with a group there
- 3:06Speaker 1: of people that are involved with horse racing. And as
- 3:10Speaker 1: soon as I opened my door, you smelled it. And
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm like. God, I love that smell. Is that the
- 3:15Speaker 1: weirdest thing that I love the smell of horse manure?
- 3:21Speaker 1: I mean, I can get it. Really? Because it reminds
- 3:23Speaker 1: you of what you love doing. Poop. Okay. Really? Or poop.
- 3:28Speaker 1: It reminds me of sitting on the toilet for hours
- 3:32Speaker 1: on end.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I was thinking more so being around horses, but.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry about that. But yeah, I guess it does,
- 3:40Speaker 1: but I've just always been attracted to odd smells. There
- 3:44Speaker 1: was a time I used to love the smell of gasoline.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I can get behind that. I like the smell of gas. Okay.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I used to love the smell of pot. I mean,
- 3:53Speaker 1: when I would go to concerts, I never did it,
- 3:55Speaker 1: but I would smell it, and it's like that smell.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So now I'm to a point I can't stand it.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So you like the smell of skunk, too. That's exactly right.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I can't tell the difference. You really can't? There are
- 4:07Speaker 1: times I can. It's like, man, that smells like a skunk. Oh, no,
- 4:10Speaker 1: it is. Man, that smells like pot. Oh, it's a skunk. No,
- 4:14Speaker 1: there are times I, it's difficult to tell the difference
- 4:17Speaker 1: between a pot and a skunk. I can tell the difference.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Can you? Well, there might be a reason, but anyway,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I'm not saying anything. Let's just say I'm not innocent
- 4:29Speaker 1: and I have done. Yeah. Let's just put it out there.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And I'm not going to criticize you for that. I mean,
- 4:34Speaker 1: there are a lot of people do it today. Life's
- 4:36Speaker 1: about experiences, right? Is that what it is? You got
- 4:39Speaker 1: to experience things. I don't know. My youngest son says
- 4:42Speaker 1: I would be great if I smoked pot. Oh, I
- 4:44Speaker 1: think it'd be hilarious. Why would it be hilarious? You
- 4:47Speaker 1: would be over the top loud. What? Oh, really? I'm
- 4:50Speaker 1: loud right now as it is. No, I know. But
- 4:53Speaker 1: you would. Oh, my gosh.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I love your laugh. And I think a majority of
- 4:58Speaker 2: the listeners probably do as well.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:00Speaker 2: But we would get to a spot where we would
- 5:02Speaker 2: have to be like, Michael, shut up. Stop laughing. Nothing's funny.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Really? All right. So you've enjoyed it is what you're
- 5:11Speaker 1: telling me from the past, right?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 1: All right. How did it? change you or your personality
- 5:17Speaker 1: in a positive way, a negative way or what? Oh,
- 5:20Speaker 1: definitely positive.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I mean, if it's, if I'm doing something that's going
- 5:23Speaker 2: to change me for the negative, I'm not doing it.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Cause I could listen. I know what alcohol
- 5:29Speaker 1: does to me. Alcohol makes me the most cocky egotistical
- 5:34Speaker 1: person in the world. Not a jerk. Well, maybe a
- 5:37Speaker 1: little bit, but I mean, oh, my, my confidence level
- 5:40Speaker 1: goes way out the window. And my ego does as well.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, I don't like me when I've had
- 5:47Speaker 1: a little. Although I can be fun because nothing scares me.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So if you dare me to do something, I'm doing it.
- 5:53Speaker 1: You don't even have to dare me. Just say, Michael,
- 5:55Speaker 1: will you go do that? And I'm done. I'm there
- 5:57Speaker 1: doing it, and it's not an issue. That's the part
- 6:00Speaker 1: that scares me about alcohol. See, I used to be
- 6:02Speaker 1: like that with alcohol, but now it's like. If I
- 6:04Speaker 1: drink now, it just makes me sleepy. Does it really? Yeah. See,
- 6:08Speaker 1: that's the other problem with me. If I'm not at
- 6:11Speaker 1: a big party or something and I'm having a little drink,
- 6:13Speaker 1: it's like, I want to go to bed. Yeah, I'm
- 6:15Speaker 1: with you right there.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I guess it would have been my mom's 40th birthday party,
- 6:21Speaker 2: and then it was also her citizenship party when she
- 6:24Speaker 2: became an American. My grandpa, I'll never forget, my grandpa
- 6:29Speaker 2: that day drank three beers every And he took a
- 6:32Speaker 2: nap after every single one of them.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You wait a minute. Now, he would drink one beer,
- 6:37Speaker 1: take a nap, a second beer. Are you kidding me?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Not joking. How long would these naps be? 20, 30 minutes. Oh,
- 6:44Speaker 1: my gosh.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I mean, I made fun of him into oblivion. That's awesome.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But now that I'm older, I get it. I understand
- 6:51Speaker 2: why he took a nap after every beer. Well, and
- 6:54Speaker 2: see the other. But this is why I don't really
- 6:56Speaker 2: drink much. But it gives me headaches, too.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I can. My mom used to get headaches and
- 7:02Speaker 1: that's why she didn't drink much. And it's like, OK, great.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Now I got that because, you know, every now and
- 7:07Speaker 1: then I do like to have a little something. It
- 7:09Speaker 1: just it doesn't hit me all the time. Well, I
- 7:12Speaker 1: would say nine times out of 10 when we go
- 7:14Speaker 1: to a party or something, all my friends are having
- 7:16Speaker 1: a drink. I'll have a ginger ale or a Diet
- 7:18Speaker 1: Coke and that's it. They make fun of me, and
- 7:22Speaker 1: then if I do get something, they say, oh, Michael's
- 7:24Speaker 1: ordering the umbrella drink, because I always want something with
- 7:28Speaker 1: rum in it, and I want a little pineapple juice
- 7:31Speaker 1: or something, a little Sprite in it, and they're all like, yep,
- 7:34Speaker 1: there's the... Where's the umbrella, Michael? It's like, oh, come on, man.
- 7:37Speaker 2: It would make sense that you're getting a headache, though, right?
- 7:40Speaker 2: You're literally putting poison.
- 7:41Speaker 1: In your body. Is that... Oh, am I really? Alcohol, yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I didn't realize alcohol was considered poison. I mean, basically poison. Okay, well... Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I don't know. There are things I wish I could enjoy,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and there are things I wish I didn't enjoy. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: wish I didn't enjoy sugar so much. Now, I've handled
- 7:59Speaker 1: that for the most part, but I wish I could
- 8:02Speaker 1: enjoy alcohol a little more. Is that bad to say?
- 8:06Speaker 5: No.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Why would it be? Because people struggle with alcohol. That's true. Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 1: That's the only reason I would say it. That might
- 8:14Speaker 1: be a little bad to say, but anyway, I, yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So let me do a little explaining tomorrow. I'm going
- 8:22Speaker 1: to be off. And I was hoping somebody would fill
- 8:27Speaker 1: in for me, but they're not able to. Unfortunately, I
- 8:30Speaker 1: asked a couple of people. I asked Cameron Mills. He
- 8:33Speaker 1: wasn't able to TJ Walker is real busy, which I get.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And I just, unless you suggest somebody, I would love
- 8:40Speaker 1: to find somebody else, but John Wong is going to
- 8:43Speaker 1: fill in for me on Friday and Monday. He's already worried.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Why?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Because he's comfortable with you.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 1: But he doesn't know Trevor. So he's a little, he's, Michael,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I need to call Trevor. Do you have his contact info?
- 8:57Speaker 1: I said, no, I don't have it. He's like, well,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I don't know what you want me to do. Justin
- 9:02Speaker 1: will set everything up. It'll be fine. So he's already
- 9:05Speaker 1: worried about it. I said, now, here's the thing you
- 9:07Speaker 1: need to work on. We have breaks at 20, 40,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and the hard break is at top of the hour.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Same thing for the second hour. Take a break at 20, 40,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and you're done at 9.59. Love it. I said, you
- 9:21Speaker 1: got to take these breaks. He said, okay, I will.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And I reminded him, it's a Whiskey Thief text line
- 9:27Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff. So we'll see how
- 9:29Speaker 1: he does this time. If he goes John Wong long,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I want to hear about it. I'll call him out.
- 9:34Speaker 1: You should feel comfortable. John, we got to take a break. John,
- 9:36Speaker 1: we got to take a break. I mean, you tell
- 9:39Speaker 1: me in my ear every now and then. Yeah. So,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and I'm okay with that because I know I go
- 9:45Speaker 1: a little long and I guess what? I get lost
- 9:47Speaker 1: with the time, but it's just because it is easy
- 9:50Speaker 1: to do. I just, I'll tell you how you get
- 9:52Speaker 1: lost with the time today. I was thinking, I cannot
- 9:55Speaker 1: believe I'm 60 years old. I don't feel 60. but
- 10:00Speaker 1: 60 seems so old.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Really?
- 10:03Speaker 1: And I don't, you don't have to rub it in
- 10:05Speaker 1: a little more. I know you're bugging me, but I,
- 10:09Speaker 1: it's like that, that to me, when I was growing up,
- 10:11Speaker 1: I was like 30 felt I thought was old. And
- 10:14Speaker 1: then I turned 30, I'm 30 years past 30. And
- 10:17Speaker 1: it just 60 is just like, where'd the time go?
- 10:20Speaker 1: So now I'm kind of reflecting and it's like, okay,
- 10:23Speaker 1: don't go down that path. It's like, how do we
- 10:26Speaker 1: slow it down? Less than two weeks, you'll be even older.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I know. I know. It bothers me though. Should it
- 10:34Speaker 1: bother me?
- 10:34Speaker 4: No.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But it does. Age is just a number. I get it.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I've heard that my whole life. I know. You're exactly right.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And I still feel, if I was completely honest, I
- 10:45Speaker 1: feel like I'm 23, 24 years old. You act like that.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And you know what? I'm glad I do. I don't
- 10:53Speaker 1: have any issues with that. UK basketball yesterday. How do
- 10:57Speaker 1: you like this segue? Had their very first official practice.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And of course, I think we all kind of saw
- 11:04Speaker 1: what the big news yesterday was. If you didn't, I'm
- 11:07Speaker 1: going to tell you right now. So thank goodness you're
- 11:09Speaker 1: listening to Michael Bennett, Just the Cats. That's right. The
- 11:12Speaker 1: big news was Milan Momchilovic was dressed and ready to
- 11:17Speaker 1: get out there and play some basketball, even shooting. They
- 11:20Speaker 1: had a video that UK Basketball put out yesterday of
- 11:23Speaker 1: Momchilovic shooting. And the good news is he was making
- 11:26Speaker 1: the shots, too. Now, he's got that, what do you
- 11:32Speaker 1: call it, a splint. On his index finger. That was
- 11:37Speaker 1: pretty prevalent there. Not sure how long that's going to
- 11:41Speaker 1: be until they remove it. But, I mean, I like
- 11:44Speaker 1: the fact that Milan, Milan. How do you say it?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Milan or Milan? Couldn't tell you.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Let's just say Milan. Can we just say Milan? Milan? Oh,
- 11:54Speaker 1: that's even better. Say it different from everybody. Well, I
- 11:57Speaker 1: like that. Milan, Momchilovic. And I'm saying that now... Yeah,
- 12:03Speaker 1: it almost sounds like moron. I don't know if I
- 12:05Speaker 1: like Milan. And I'm almost to the point where you're
- 12:08Speaker 1: laughing now. You kind of intentionally are doing that. Absolutely not.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I don't know now. But Milan, I think it's Milan.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I'm getting the last name right, so I'm proud of
- 12:19Speaker 1: myself for that. But he looked good.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's almost like when he suffered this injury,
- 12:25Speaker 2: it was a minor injury that we shouldn't have worried about.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Huh. Weird.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Weird.
- 12:31Speaker 2: If only there was somebody here to tell you at
- 12:33Speaker 2: the time that.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Everything's going to be okay.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Oh, are you trying to say that there's a certain
- 12:40Speaker 1: basketball coach or program that's trying to... use a crutch
- 12:45Speaker 1: as far as we have another injury and that's why
- 12:47Speaker 1: we're not going to be good this.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Year no i'm just saying you all are so snake
- 12:50Speaker 2: bitten by injuries that every yeah every little one gets
- 12:53Speaker 2: brought up like a dude could lose an eyelash and
- 12:56Speaker 2: you're gonna oh no he's gonna miss half the season
- 12:59Speaker 2: it's fine but do you blame us oh seriously with
- 13:03Speaker 2: this one yes yes i do because that's your best
- 13:06Speaker 2: player well i mean it is your best player but
- 13:08Speaker 2: it was a very very very minor injury Like, I mean,
- 13:12Speaker 2: I get it.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It's a shooting hand.
- 13:14Speaker 2: The report was broken finger.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Exactly. Turns out it was just a jam or whatever.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Severely jammed finger is what they described it as. That's
- 13:22Speaker 2: going to be fine in time. There was never a
- 13:24Speaker 2: reason to freak out about it.
- 13:25Speaker 1: But those linger around sometimes, though. I mean, I've jammed
- 13:28Speaker 1: my finger. I talked about, you know, that golf game
- 13:30Speaker 1: where you have that big ball you're trying. And I
- 13:33Speaker 1: went so fast, my finger, my middle finger went into
- 13:37Speaker 1: the window and of the, uh, the game, the golf game.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And I jam my finger so bad. It's like, I'm done. You,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you won. I quit right now. It was just miserable.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And you remember, you looked up the prices of them.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I'd love to have one of those, but I would
- 13:51Speaker 1: be fun.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I think I would rather, I don't know. Would you
- 13:54Speaker 1: rather have an amusement park in your backyard, go full
- 13:59Speaker 1: out Michael Jackson, or would you rather have, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 14:04Speaker 1: what do you, uh, an arcade? amusement park for sure
- 14:08Speaker 1: how about squirreling right there yeah there's evidently six flags
- 14:13Speaker 1: in california did you see that story where people are
- 14:17Speaker 1: claiming it's so severe that it's causing all kinds of
- 14:21Speaker 1: uh incredible injuries to people what's severe it's it's it's
- 14:26Speaker 1: there's some roller coaster out there that they're riding and
- 14:29Speaker 1: it's flipping them all around upside down there's one girl
- 14:31Speaker 1: that's unfortunately in the hospital paralyzed and And can't breathe
- 14:35Speaker 1: on her own because they're blaming this roller coaster there.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I saw the story yesterday. Speaking of paralyzed, you see
- 14:42Speaker 1: the girl from Louder Than Life?
- 14:44Speaker 4: What?
- 14:44Speaker 5: No.
- 14:45Speaker 1: It's tragic.
- 14:46Speaker 2: So she was, apparently there was somebody in a tree
- 14:50Speaker 2: watching one of the performances.
- 14:52Speaker 1: From a tree? There's a tree in the? I guess.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I don't really know the setup over there. Or was
- 14:57Speaker 2: she outside of where the gates are? No, well, she
- 15:01Speaker 2: was under the tree. And whoever was in the tree
- 15:04Speaker 2: watching the performance fell on top of her.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 15:07Speaker 1: And she's paralyzed now. Oh, that's terrible. I'm sorry to
- 15:10Speaker 1: hear that.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Like, out of all the things that could happen to
- 15:12Speaker 2: you at a music festival, that? Good grief.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And this is where my mind goes. What band was playing?
- 15:20Speaker 1: And that's terrible. But I'm so sorry for that. I
- 15:23Speaker 1: hope somehow, some way, she recovers. There's a lady on
- 15:25Speaker 1: social media that uses one of those exoskeleton... It's really
- 15:31Speaker 1: cool to watch her. And she got dressed in it
- 15:35Speaker 1: and stood up and went and made dinner. And it
- 15:37Speaker 1: was pretty cool. And she was paraplegic. Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I wasn't familiar with what that was. Yeah. Oh, exoskeleton? Mm-hmm. Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Instead of it being inside, it's outside. Exo. Ah, those
- 15:49Speaker 1: things are expensive. How much? You already looked up how
- 15:52Speaker 1: much it is? The price just comes up. Are you
- 15:55Speaker 1: kidding me? I love how you... All right. How much
- 15:57Speaker 1: is it? I mean, you can get a really, really
- 15:59Speaker 1: good one for like four grand. Okay. Well, that's not
- 16:02Speaker 1: as much as I would have thought. The way you,
- 16:04Speaker 1: the way you took that, it's like, Oh, that's really,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I would have thought a hundred thousand dollars of what
- 16:09Speaker 1: you were saying.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I mean, Michael, I say that's really expensive for $ 4
- 16:12Speaker 2: and 20 cent.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Gallon of gas. Oh, how much is diesel? Look at
- 16:17Speaker 1: how much diesel is right now. I don't drive a diesel. Yeah.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You and me both. So, all right, we got to
- 16:22Speaker 1: take our first break. I mean, this we'll get to
- 16:25Speaker 1: your text. I promise. But, uh, I don't know why
- 16:28Speaker 1: I talk about random stuff like this. My mind has
- 16:31Speaker 1: gone weird the last couple weeks, just going off on
- 16:34Speaker 1: things that don't even relate to basketball, UK, football, or
- 16:38Speaker 1: anything sports-wise. What do you think about Father John Misty?
- 16:42Speaker 1: Father John Misty? See, that's what your brain's been doing
- 16:45Speaker 1: the last two weeks. Who is Father John? Oh, because
- 16:47Speaker 1: my brain is Misty? Oh, he's playing to Bourbon and Beyond, actually.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I don't even, okay, I just like, oh, wow, really?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Father John Misty. Are you going to play one of
- 16:58Speaker 1: his songs today? I might as well now, right? Exactly.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I got to hear it. I've never heard of Father. Now,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I gave you two songs today. You did. And I
- 17:06Speaker 1: hope you play both of them. One of them is
- 17:08Speaker 1: my wife's all-time favorite band. Is she going to be listening?
- 17:12Speaker 4: No.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I wish she was, but are you kidding? You think
- 17:16Speaker 1: any of my family listens to this show? Well, maybe
- 17:18Speaker 1: you can play it for her later. Maybe I will. Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 1: And just say, hey, Patricia, I did this for you, okay?
- 17:24Speaker 1: This shows you my undying love for you. And she'll
- 17:27Speaker 1: look at me and says, you're gross. I can't say
- 17:30Speaker 1: anything nice to her. I really can't. Anyway. By the way,
- 17:35Speaker 1: I had dreams about her last night, and she's not
- 17:37Speaker 1: even home. Does that mean I miss her? Probably so.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I've always wanted to talk to somebody that can interpret dreams,
- 17:45Speaker 1: because I did. I had dreams about her last night.
- 17:47Speaker 1: They were nice dreams. Very sweet. Yeah. Sexy dreams, too. See?
- 17:52Speaker 1: Thank you. That's Mason right there in the nutshell, my
- 17:55Speaker 1: youngest son. All right. We've got to take a break. 502-414-1450.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I'll get to your text as soon as we get back.
- 18:00Speaker 1: This is Just the Cast.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Seconds left in an overtime So turn.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Your mind.
- 18:40Speaker 6: Mr.
- 18:41Speaker 7: Tillman, good to see you again.
- 18:44Speaker 8: There's a few outstanding charges. Just before we check you in,
- 18:49Speaker 8: let's see here. You left your passport in the mini
- 18:54Speaker 8: fridge and a message with the desk says, here the
- 18:58Speaker 8: picture is.
- 18:59Speaker 1: All right, please tell me who this is. Father John Misty.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I like this. Pretty good. Have you listened to them before?
- 19:08Speaker 3: No.
- 19:09Speaker 1: No, I like this. This is different. It's very Bourbon
- 19:15Speaker 1: and Beyond. Yeah, I get it. Because Bourbon and Beyond,
- 19:18Speaker 1: you know, Louder Than Life clearly is for the heavy metal.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Listening to this, I mean, this is kind of, I
- 19:27Speaker 1: don't know, groovy, alternative, hippie type stuff.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And I like that.
- 19:33Speaker 6: Okay.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I might have to go back and listen to more
- 19:37Speaker 1: of his stuff. Yeah, I'm going to listen to that.
- 19:42Speaker 1: One person texted in, 5024141450 on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Holy bleep, Michael. You just reminded me of my drunk.
- 19:50Speaker 1: great uncle who just finished his second pack of marble
- 19:53Speaker 1: reds for the day. How did I do that? Oh,
- 19:56Speaker 1: because the way my voice was? Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. Well,
- 20:01Speaker 1: isn't that why John Mellencamp has the voice that he has?
- 20:05Speaker 1: That's what my son said. My youngest always told me,
- 20:08Speaker 1: he said, his teacher taught him the reason John Mellencamp
- 20:13Speaker 1: can sing and talk the way he does is due
- 20:16Speaker 1: to his addiction to cigarettes. I believe that. Do you really? Yeah. Why?
- 20:20Speaker 2: I mean, just think, your throat's constantly getting smoke poured
- 20:25Speaker 2: down it. Probably going to change your vocal cords a
- 20:27Speaker 2: little bit, right? Yeah, but he started out that way.
- 20:29Speaker 1: He hadn't been smoking that long, do you think, when
- 20:32Speaker 1: he started in the music industry? I bet he. Oh
- 20:35Speaker 1: my gosh, man. Because I do. I wonder what John
- 20:39Speaker 1: Mellencamp would sound like if he had never smoked. You
- 20:43Speaker 1: know what I mean? Yeah, who knows? He would still
- 20:45Speaker 1: have a good voice, I would think, but it wouldn't
- 20:47Speaker 1: be as unique as his voice is today.
- 20:52Speaker 2: There are a lot of people that they got their
- 20:54Speaker 2: unique voice from smoking cigarettes.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Oh, there are. Okay. I need to know more than
- 21:00Speaker 1: who are these people.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Well, I'm trying to find out one right now. So
- 21:04Speaker 2: when I was at my mom's this weekend, we were
- 21:06Speaker 2: listening to one of the TV music stations. Not like MTV,
- 21:10Speaker 2: but like one of the, I don't know, soundtrack, whatever
- 21:13Speaker 2: they're called. MTV's dead, by the way.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Oh, Nina Blackwood was her name. Are you familiar with
- 21:17Speaker 1: Nina Blackwood? Oh, I remember Nina Blackwood. Yes, she had
- 21:19Speaker 1: that dirty blonde look, spiky hair back in the day. Yes.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Her voice now is insane. I mean, it She literally
- 21:28Speaker 2: sounds like she just smoked 12 packs a day.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Really? Oh, it's horrible. So her voice has changed due
- 21:33Speaker 1: to smoking. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Like, yeah, she was the DJ on the, they were
- 21:37Speaker 2: doing some sort of countdown. Yeah, up next at number nine.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Oh, it's horrible. Is it really? Yeah. Okay. See, I
- 21:48Speaker 1: think my grandfather had that problem. Edward Allred was my
- 21:53Speaker 1: grandfather's name, and he smoked constantly. I don't know, better
- 21:57Speaker 1: part of his life. Of course, he passed away from
- 21:59Speaker 1: lung cancer. But he had that kind of raspy voice. See,
- 22:03Speaker 1: my Oma always smoked. She smoked three packs a day.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Good Lord.
- 22:07Speaker 2: But she quit before I was born, so I never
- 22:10Speaker 2: knew that side of her.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Okay, but does she have that voice?
- 22:13Speaker 2: I mean, she's German, so she's got already a thick
- 22:16Speaker 2: accent anyway, so I don't know that a cigarette raspy
- 22:19Speaker 2: voice would fit in with that.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Okay, right. But that's kind of just always what I've
- 22:23Speaker 1: always done. There's got to be more singers out there, though,
- 22:25Speaker 1: that just... due to their smoking habit, have that kind
- 22:29Speaker 1: of a voice. And for the live me, I can't
- 22:31Speaker 1: think of any of them. But I'll think of somebody.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Somebody can text me in, too. One person texted in,
- 22:41Speaker 1: TJ has to run to the dry cleaners tomorrow. He
- 22:45Speaker 1: spilled chili on his shirt yesterday. What's that? Oh, he did?
- 22:48Speaker 1: He spilled chili on his shirt, yeah. Why did he
- 22:50Speaker 1: spill chili on his shirt? He was eating it.
- 22:52Speaker 2: During the middle of the show, and, of course, he
- 22:54Speaker 2: spilled it on his shirt, and the stream cut the
- 22:56Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Hold on. Hold on. TJ, if you're listening right now,
- 23:00Speaker 1: I need an explanation. First of all, why are you
- 23:03Speaker 1: bringing chili into the radio station to eat while you're
- 23:08Speaker 1: on the radio? Isn't that a good thing to eat
- 23:10Speaker 1: while you're on the radio?
- 23:12Speaker 4: That.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I mean, that's better than bringing like a sandwich because
- 23:15Speaker 2: you have to take bites.
- 23:16Speaker 1: You're going to bring out my inner Larry David, okay?
- 23:18Speaker 1: All right. There are things you bring into offices and
- 23:21Speaker 1: there are things you do not bring into offices, okay?
- 23:24Speaker 1: He didn't bring in a platter of fish. No, but
- 23:28Speaker 1: chili is one of those things nobody wants to see
- 23:31Speaker 1: you eat as well and bring that into an office.
- 23:34Speaker 1: To me, when you're coming into an office, there's a
- 23:37Speaker 1: certain code, okay? The code should be a sandwich is okay.
- 23:41Speaker 1: A hamburger is okay. Chili, fish, seafood, none of that's okay.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Hold on. Time out. Time out. I'm ready. First of all,
- 23:49Speaker 1: no one had to see him watch it. They didn't
- 23:51Speaker 1: have to watch this.
- 23:51Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 23:52Speaker 1: He was by himself or it was Steven Peake?
- 23:54Speaker 2: No, Peake was in Lexington, I think.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 23:57Speaker 2: So TJ was literally in the studio by himself. So
- 23:59Speaker 2: if people didn't want to watch him eat chili, they
- 24:01Speaker 2: didn't have to watch him eat chili.
- 24:02Speaker 1: But he's on YouTube. Turn on terrestrial ratings. He's on YouTube.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Also, as somebody who frequently has to eat during shows
- 24:11Speaker 2: or during broadcasts, There is nothing better to eat than, like,
- 24:14Speaker 2: a soup or a chili.
- 24:16Speaker 1: No, it's too messy. It's way too messy. And then
- 24:19Speaker 1: on top of it all, after 30 minutes of you
- 24:23Speaker 1: ate it, guess what? You're going to see the results
- 24:25Speaker 1: of it, too. Now, everybody else is going to have
- 24:27Speaker 1: to suffer because you ate chili. Not everybody has the
- 24:31Speaker 1: same problems you do. Well, you got that right, and
- 24:34Speaker 1: thank the Lord for that. I'm thankful of that all
- 24:37Speaker 1: the time.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I mean, I'm thinking with like a hamburger or a sandwich,
- 24:41Speaker 2: you've actually got to take a bite and sit there
- 24:43Speaker 2: and spend time chewing.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Whereas with chili, that's not the case. You got to chew. Yes,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you do. You got beans. You got ground beef. If
- 24:51Speaker 1: you eat chili the way I do, you got spaghetti
- 24:53Speaker 1: in it. No. And tamales. You're wrong about that.
- 24:57Speaker 2: No, normal chili without noodles, you don't have to really choose.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Listen, I love TJ. I don't want him to think
- 25:02Speaker 1: I'm picking on him, but I'm picking on him. So anyway,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you just don't bring in soups. No, no soup, no seafood,
- 25:10Speaker 1: no steak, nothing like that. You got to bring in
- 25:12Speaker 1: stuff you can eat quickly and be done. I'm bringing
- 25:14Speaker 1: in all of them tomorrow. Oh, my. Do that. Please
- 25:18Speaker 1: do that tomorrow. It looks like I picked the wrong
- 25:24Speaker 1: day to stop sniffing glue. What is that supposed to mean? Oh,
- 25:31Speaker 1: my gosh. And that's Jamie saying that. Anyway, Josh texted in,
- 25:37Speaker 1: don't worry about the show. Justin and I got it tomorrow.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Just the sunrise with Scoots and Jenkins. Loose cannons. Come on.
- 25:44Speaker 1: That would be fun. Oh, would it really? Oh, it
- 25:46Speaker 1: would be. Okay. Buzz texted in and said, 60, Michael? Oh,
- 25:51Speaker 1: to be young again. How old is Buzz? Oh, God.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I don't want to offend him, but I would say 74.
- 25:58Speaker 6: Really?
- 25:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, he doesn't look that. No, he looks very young.
- 26:04Speaker 1: He's a young 74. And I always appreciate it.
- 26:07Speaker 2: That's because every time you see him, he's wearing a
- 26:08Speaker 2: football jersey.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Oh, is that what it is? And guys in their
- 26:11Speaker 1: 70s don't typically wear football jerseys. Yeah, yeah. But he
- 26:15Speaker 1: seems like a very nice person. And he's still working.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Is he really doing what? It's like he's 50. I
- 26:20Speaker 1: don't know what he does.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Wow.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Great question. Okay. 488 Handley said, probably a very dark horse.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Where were they smoking weed?
- 26:31Speaker 2: Um i had heard i had saw all kinds of
- 26:34Speaker 2: reports about louisville stadium on saturday really 215 wherever that's
- 26:38Speaker 2: at i don't really know where that's at yeah 215
- 26:41Speaker 2: was a big guilty party 215 yeah there was a
- 26:45Speaker 2: guy griping on on facebook i saw my kids were
- 26:49Speaker 2: with me all right they were breathing in weed smoke
- 26:52Speaker 2: be more respectful you need to come up with a
- 26:56Speaker 2: different voice i mean Your old person version is just like,
- 27:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 27:03Speaker 1: It's different. I used to love the smell of a
- 27:05Speaker 1: horse as a child on the farm. You don't get
- 27:07Speaker 1: that with racehorses because they are rebathed regularly. Yeah, pretty
- 27:12Speaker 1: much every day. I don't know. I mean, if you
- 27:15Speaker 1: go up and sniff them, when I go up and
- 27:16Speaker 1: give them a kiss, you smell them. But 60 is
- 27:19Speaker 1: a special number. It was the first derby I remember.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Venetian Way won it with hard tack up. And you
- 27:27Speaker 1: know what that means, don't you? That means that's a jockey.
- 27:30Speaker 1: My pick, Bally Ake, was second. Bally Ake. I like
- 27:36Speaker 1: Venetian Way and Bally Ake. Yeah. I'd like to know. See,
- 27:40Speaker 1: I like to know where their names come from. And
- 27:44Speaker 1: I would like to know where that Bally Ake. Why
- 27:46Speaker 1: wouldn't it be Bally Ake? Maybe it was the daughter
- 27:50Speaker 1: of Bally. Or it could be. Or son of Bally.
- 27:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 1: The most famous dream interpreter was Joseph C. Genesis. I
- 27:58Speaker 1: didn't know 48 Handley was so religious. Yeah. And I
- 28:02Speaker 1: like that about you, 48 Handley. There's something relaxing to
- 28:05Speaker 1: me when I hear somebody talk about that.
- 28:07Speaker 2: There's three things that I associate him with. Horse racing, gambling,
- 28:12Speaker 2: and religion.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Or at least faith. All right. Somebody's really making
- 28:17Speaker 1: fun of me about that. I can't pull it up, unfortunately.
- 28:20Speaker 1: That's what she said. The 270 number. Can you help
- 28:23Speaker 1: me with that one? It won't let me. Chili doesn't
- 28:27Speaker 1: have noodles. That's called soup. Yes, agreed. Is that all
- 28:31Speaker 1: it says? No noodles. Yeah, sorry. Chili has noodles. I
- 28:35Speaker 1: love it with noodles. I love it with my wife
- 28:38Speaker 1: makes the best. There's a place that used to be.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I think it's now gone. My dad grew up going
- 28:44Speaker 1: to in Nashville, Tennessee. It was downtown Nashville, and it
- 28:48Speaker 1: was called Verralli's. And Varali's is the chili he grew
- 28:52Speaker 1: up on. It was always, you could have it multiple ways,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and you could have it with tamales, and it always
- 28:59Speaker 1: had spaghetti with it. So that's the way I grew
- 29:02Speaker 1: up having chili. I love it that way. My wife
- 29:05Speaker 1: makes it that way. Can't do it. Okay. Well, that's okay.
- 29:09Speaker 1: That's your prerogative. John here. Yes, the last group coming
- 29:13Speaker 1: back from break did sound like a hippie group. Also,
- 29:16Speaker 1: John Mellencamp just went crazy on some public thoughts about politics. Oh, man. Hey, John,
- 29:23Speaker 1: keep singing about a little ditty about Jack and Diane. Also,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't care, Michael, Justin, or TJ Gosch. Anybody at
- 29:32Speaker 1: the station, enjoy what you have. It is no big deal. Also,
- 29:36Speaker 1: chili with noodles is like goulash. Goulash. I don't eat
- 29:41Speaker 1: chili with darn noodles. Boy, everybody has the opinion on
- 29:45Speaker 1: the noodle part with chili. That's the only way you
- 29:48Speaker 1: eat it. No, it's not. It is. You are in
- 29:50Speaker 1: the vast minority with that. Am I really? Yeah, except
- 29:54Speaker 1: for you and all the Skyline psychos. I like Skyline.
- 29:58Speaker 1: You would. I wouldn't feed that to my dog. You
- 30:01Speaker 1: wouldn't really? No. Okay. I mean, it's not like I
- 30:03Speaker 1: want it every day. Skyline, you take in moderation. Kind
- 30:09Speaker 1: of like White Castle. You do not have it every day.
- 30:12Speaker 1: You have it maybe once every six months. And that's enough.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Once I have it, boom, I'm ready to go. Because
- 30:18Speaker 1: I love their cheese. And, you know, they pile it on.
- 30:20Speaker 1: But you don't like cinnamon. Is cinnamon in their chili?
- 30:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I don't taste it. Well, the difference is I don't
- 30:26Speaker 1: taste it. I can taste it.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Of course you can't because you hate it. Ballyake won
- 30:33Speaker 1: the Preakness. I didn't know that. Ballyake. That's just an
- 30:37Speaker 1: unusual name for a horse. I like that. You do? Okay.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Todd McShay, let's talk a little bit about UK football. Todd, Todd, Todd.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Do you like Todd McShay? I don't mind Todd McShay.
- 30:47Speaker 1: NFL draft analyst.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I can't hear his name without thinking of, oh, gosh,
- 30:53Speaker 2: who's the guy that impersonates people?
- 30:58Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. You got me there. Frank Caliendo. Oh,
- 31:02Speaker 1: Frank Caliendo, okay.
- 31:03Speaker 2: When he does his Mel Kiper and he's just like.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Dodd, Dodd, Dodd. Frank Caliendo, you don't hear much of
- 31:09Speaker 1: him anymore, do you? I haven't recently, no. Yeah, that's just,
- 31:14Speaker 1: I miss that guy, especially his impersonation of John Gruden.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I think Bar None was the best of anybody. I
- 31:25Speaker 1: would agree. And I think that was his best impersonation
- 31:27Speaker 1: was John Gruden. Yeah. I read a story about where
- 31:31Speaker 1: they went to see a play in New York together.
- 31:35Speaker 1: And John Gruden looked at him and said, all right,
- 31:39Speaker 1: talk like you're me. And how would you describe the
- 31:43Speaker 1: anticipation of this play starting? And John Gruden said it
- 31:47Speaker 1: made him laugh so hard. That is like, that's dead
- 31:51Speaker 1: on what I would say. And that's dead on how
- 31:52Speaker 1: I say it. I just, I don't know. I have to,
- 31:55Speaker 1: when John Gruden's talking, I listen. Anytime he does those
- 31:59Speaker 1: barstool things where he's opening a package from a different school,
- 32:04Speaker 1: which I think is a lot of fun. Even if
- 32:08Speaker 1: it's a team, I don't care. I don't care. He
- 32:11Speaker 1: comes up with the names of the players and memory.
- 32:13Speaker 1: It's like, okay, we all know you just studied that
- 32:16Speaker 1: like five seconds ago, but I just wish they would
- 32:20Speaker 1: get him in the broadcast booth again. Don't you, or
- 32:22Speaker 1: am I wrong about that? No, I'd love to hear that.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Todd McShay, let's get back to where I was talking
- 32:27Speaker 1: about like 20 minutes ago. Todd McShay, if you don't know,
- 32:29Speaker 1: he's the NFL draft analyst, and he's also the host,
- 32:33Speaker 1: which I've watched the McShay show on Netflix, was recently
- 32:37Speaker 1: asked to name an SEC team not seriously seen as
- 32:41Speaker 1: a serious college football playoff contender. That would make unexpected
- 32:47Speaker 1: noise based on results of the first quarter of the season.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Are you ready for who his answer was? I know.
- 32:55Speaker 1: So you saw the whole thing.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:57Speaker 1: UK. He said he not only believes Stein can get
- 33:02Speaker 1: the job done at UK, but he also believes that
- 33:06Speaker 1: Will Stein will be the next big name in coaching,
- 33:10Speaker 1: capable of doing things previously considered impossible at UK. He
- 33:17Speaker 1: said he is a Stein disciple. What do you think
- 33:21Speaker 1: of that answer right there? I was shocked when I
- 33:24Speaker 1: heard it, because I had always hoped that, okay, can
- 33:27Speaker 1: Stein be one of those coaches? He was at Oregon
- 33:31Speaker 1: for a little bit, and he was really... nowhere else
- 33:36Speaker 1: ahead of that. I mean, it's got to make you
- 33:39Speaker 1: feel good as a cat fan. It makes you feel good,
- 33:42Speaker 1: but it also makes you feel nervous. Why nervous? Are
- 33:46Speaker 1: you not a little bit hesitant or nervous, anxious that
- 33:53Speaker 1: Kurt Cignetti will one day leave and take another job? No,
- 33:57Speaker 1: zero percent. See, I disagree with you. You always have. Yeah, exactly.
- 34:02Speaker 1: And I still do. So I take that same thought
- 34:05Speaker 1: process and use it with Will Stein. Hold on. If
- 34:09Speaker 1: Will Stein has that same type of success that Kurt
- 34:12Speaker 1: Cignetti's having, I don't know if Will Stein would stay
- 34:15Speaker 1: in Lexington. As much as I think he does, there's
- 34:18Speaker 1: part of me that says, no, he's out of there.
- 34:20Speaker 1: My question is, why would he leave?
- 34:23Speaker 3: NFL?
- 34:23Speaker 1: NFL? UofL, I don't know. UofL's not an option. You
- 34:30Speaker 1: don't think UofL's an option? Absolutely. Why not? Because he
- 34:32Speaker 1: grew up a Cat fan. But he played at UofL, though.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I get that.
- 34:36Speaker 2: But it's like the same thing with Kurt Cignetti. He
- 34:38Speaker 2: didn't grow up an Indiana fan.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:40Speaker 2: But my mindset is the exact same with both of
- 34:42Speaker 2: those guys. If you can take a traditional college football
- 34:46Speaker 2: team that has been Quite frankly, no other way to
- 34:50Speaker 2: say it. Asked throughout their time.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Right. Why would you want to leave? What is more.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Satisfactory than turning one of the worst football programs ever
- 34:58Speaker 2: into a beast?
- 35:00Speaker 1: What is more satisfying is probably going somewhere and it's
- 35:04Speaker 1: like to a team that has historically been well known
- 35:09Speaker 1: as a football team.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're not like that's where's the challenge in that?
- 35:14Speaker 2: I guess is my question. There's no challenge. These guys,
- 35:19Speaker 2: the Kurt Cignettis, the Will Steins, they're getting off on
- 35:22Speaker 2: turning a bad football program into a national power. And
- 35:26Speaker 2: it doesn't make sense for them to want to leave.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Kind of like Nate Oates. Stein I could maybe see
- 35:31Speaker 2: going to the NFL. Cignetti's too old. He's not going
- 35:34Speaker 2: to the NFL.
- 35:35Speaker 1: You don't think so? See, I disagree with that. I
- 35:37Speaker 1: don't worry about him going in. I look at the Harbaughs.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Look at Jim Harbaugh. Isn't he about the same age
- 35:43Speaker 1: as Kurt Cignetti? And he keeps going. I think he's
- 35:48Speaker 1: older than Kurt Cignetti. No way. He's 62. Cignetti's almost 70. Really?
- 35:54Speaker 1: I didn't realize Kurt Cignetti was that old. He is 65.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I take it back. So why would you leave, you know? Yeah,
- 36:01Speaker 1: at this point, you're probably right. Now, Will Stein, you
- 36:04Speaker 1: just made me even more nervous about Will Stein.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I mean, Will Stein's still young enough where that could
- 36:09Speaker 2: be an option. But still, if you come in and
- 36:13Speaker 2: let's say they flirt with making the playoffs this year,
- 36:15Speaker 2: like Todd McShay's saying.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yes.
- 36:18Speaker 2: And then you come in next year and you're a
- 36:20Speaker 2: top 25 team to start the season and you're in
- 36:22Speaker 2: the conversation all year. And, I mean, eventually he will
- 36:25Speaker 2: crack through and make a playoff and potentially make a
- 36:28Speaker 2: run within the playoff.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:30Speaker 2: That's not going to be satisfying anywhere else for him
- 36:33Speaker 2: when he grew up a Cat fan.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Because I always believed this. when John Calipari was still
- 36:38Speaker 1: the head coach at UK, if he would have won,
- 36:43Speaker 1: what was that, 2015 and gone undefeated, I think that
- 36:48Speaker 1: would have been his last year at UK. Maybe. He
- 36:51Speaker 1: would have said, you know, I've won two now. I'm done.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I'm going to go back to the NBA and see
- 36:57Speaker 1: if I can succeed there. I always believe, even if
- 37:00Speaker 1: he didn't win that year, if he had won one more,
- 37:04Speaker 1: I think he would have said, thank you, UK. I'm
- 37:06Speaker 1: going to try something else. But since it didn't happen,
- 37:09Speaker 1: he didn't leave. Yeah, but Kentucky basketball is a different beast.
- 37:14Speaker 1: How is that a different beast?
- 37:16Speaker 2: Because there's expectations year in and year out.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You don't think UK football has expectations?
- 37:21Speaker 2: Not as high as basketball did, no. And if you
- 37:24Speaker 2: think otherwise, you're absolutely insane. Well, I don't know if
- 37:27Speaker 2: I necessarily agree with it. And I think that was
- 37:29Speaker 2: the downfall of Mark Stoops. Mark Stoops had all that success.
- 37:32Speaker 2: 2018 we get to uh and play Penn State we
- 37:36Speaker 2: beat them guess what everybody wants a little more every
- 37:40Speaker 2: time you win more so you telling me IU fan
- 37:44Speaker 2: base does not want to win the national championship in
- 37:47Speaker 2: football again that's not what I'm saying at all I'm
- 37:49Speaker 2: just well the whole thing with Kentucky that's all newfound
- 37:52Speaker 2: expectations Indiana's at the point now where You expect to
- 37:57Speaker 2: win the championship every year, and if it doesn't happen,
- 38:00Speaker 2: we're going to be very disappointed.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's what expectations do. And I think the U.K.
- 38:04Speaker 1: could get to that point as well. Absolutely.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Because of the foundation that Mark Stoops laid, now there
- 38:10Speaker 2: is a little bit of expectation, but still not nearly
- 38:13Speaker 2: as much as there is with.
- 38:15Speaker 1: The basketball team. No, not yet. But I think you
- 38:18Speaker 1: can get to that point. Sure. And I know Will
- 38:20Speaker 1: Stein wants to get to that point. At Indiana, football's
- 38:25Speaker 1: past basketball. That could potentially happen at UK, too. I
- 38:28Speaker 1: don't expect that, but it could. You're really hard on
- 38:33Speaker 1: my UK football team. I don't expect that.
- 38:36Speaker 2: No, that was a comment more so of just the
- 38:39Speaker 2: expectations of basketball year in and year out or so
- 38:41Speaker 2: off the charts. That was not a slight of football
- 38:44Speaker 2: at all.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. All right, then. Well, we got to take
- 38:46Speaker 1: another break. 502-414-1450. You want to text in on the
- 38:49Speaker 1: Whiskey Thief text line. Stay right there. We'll get to
- 38:51Speaker 1: those texts as soon as we get back.
- 38:54Speaker 6: No, it's not too bad a crime Mr.
- 38:58Speaker 7: Tillman for the seventh time We have no knowledge of
- 39:04Speaker 7: a film That is being shot outside Those are extras in.
- 39:11Speaker 6: A movie Streetlight.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Streetlights along the highway Throwing shadows in the dark.
- 39:37Speaker 7: And memories keep on turning.
- 39:41Speaker 6: To the rhythm of a broken heart.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Now see, I know who that is.
- 39:56Speaker 6: Come on.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Chris Stapleton. That's right. Does he have that kind of
- 40:00Speaker 1: voice that makes you think he smokes? Because it kind
- 40:03Speaker 1: of sounds that way. A little raspy. Exactly. A little raspy. Yeah.
- 40:07Speaker 1: By the way, I don't know if you saw this
- 40:09Speaker 1: or not, but Chris Stapleton was doing a concert where
- 40:13Speaker 1: his band was Tom Petty's old band. They reunited for
- 40:17Speaker 1: the first time since Tom Petty's death. I did see this.
- 40:20Speaker 1: The Heartbreakers. Yeah, it was awesome. That's what I thought. Yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 1: what'd they play? They played... I literally watched the video yesterday.
- 40:28Speaker 1: I can't think of what song they played. Oh, did
- 40:30Speaker 1: you really? And I thought that was cool, and I
- 40:32Speaker 1: loved it. I love that the Heartbreakers got back together. Because,
- 40:36Speaker 1: you know, the lead guitarist for the Heartbreakers, I can't
- 40:39Speaker 1: think of his name right now, but he has written
- 40:42Speaker 1: all kinds of famous songs. For Tom Petty, he wrote
- 40:46Speaker 1: some for Don Henley, the lead singer and former drummer
- 40:50Speaker 1: of the Eagles. Mm-hmm. I think he wrote like the
- 40:55Speaker 1: Boys of Summer, which I love that song. You've heard
- 40:57Speaker 1: that song, haven't you? You think it's about baseball, but
- 41:00Speaker 1: it's not. But anyway, I thought that was really cool.
- 41:02Speaker 1: By the way, it was Breakdown, what I saw him do. Breakdown,
- 41:05Speaker 1: that's it. It was awesome. Yeah. So the lead guitarist
- 41:09Speaker 1: for the Heartbreakers offered the Boys of Summer to Tom Petty,
- 41:14Speaker 1: and Tom Petty turned it down. So he gave it
- 41:16Speaker 1: to Don Henley, and he made it a huge hit.
- 41:18Speaker 1: But yeah. One person texted in, 502-414-1450, I prefer noodles
- 41:25Speaker 1: or spaghetti, the more the merrier. Yeah, okay, I get it.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I mean, I call noodles spaghetti, okay? Because it's called spaghetti,
- 41:33Speaker 1: you think you're supposed to have tomato sauce on it?
- 41:38Speaker 1: I mean, yeah. Really? Okay. All right, so I have
- 41:41Speaker 1: to call it noodles is what you're telling me. Mushrooms. Mushrooms? Oh, yeah.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I am not a mushroom fan. I can also eat
- 41:50Speaker 1: it without, but I must have habaneros or Trinidad scorpion
- 41:54Speaker 1: peppers in mine. I believe my wife makes the best. Well,
- 41:58Speaker 1: good for you. That's a good husband right there. I
- 42:02Speaker 1: don't have peppers in mine. I tell you what I
- 42:04Speaker 1: do like with my chili, saltines. Oh, gotcha. Yeah, so
- 42:09Speaker 1: I'll dip it in there. I won't even use a spoon.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I'll use a saltine as my fork. How about peanut butter?
- 42:16Speaker 1: You know, I've heard about peanut butter, and I heard
- 42:19Speaker 1: you talk about that this morning. I've never tried peanut
- 42:22Speaker 1: butter with it. So tell me how you do this.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Are you mixing the peanut butter into the soup or
- 42:29Speaker 1: the chili?
- 42:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Or are you taking a scoop of peanut butter, putting
- 42:35Speaker 1: it into the chili, and eating it that way?
- 42:37Speaker 2: No, you drop two spoonfuls in there, just stir it
- 42:39Speaker 2: up nice and good. So you're just mixing it in.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with that. It'll change the
- 42:43Speaker 2: color of the chili, but it's delicious.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Really? And makes it taste like what? Peanuts?
- 42:48Speaker 2: Well, I use the crunchy peanut butter. So, yeah, occasionally
- 42:51Speaker 2: I'll get a little texture switch up or I'll get
- 42:53Speaker 2: a peanut in there.
- 42:55Speaker 1: It's great. Buzz texted in and said, Justin, Skyline is
- 43:01Speaker 1: the official chili of your Cincinnati Reds. That is true.
- 43:03Speaker 1: That's probably why we suck. You think so?
- 43:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:07Speaker 1: So that's their pregame ritual is have Skyline chili before
- 43:10Speaker 1: they go out there and just suck?
- 43:12Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if they're actually eating it,
- 43:14Speaker 2: but the fact that they're a sponsor of the Reds,
- 43:16Speaker 2: get them out of here. Maybe that's the problem with
- 43:18Speaker 2: the Reds. Get Skyline all the way out of here.
- 43:20Speaker 2: The problem with the Reds is they're not the Tampa
- 43:22Speaker 2: Bay Rays, okay? Suck it.
- 43:26Speaker 1: I love, I could barely get that out of my
- 43:29Speaker 1: mouth and you said suck it. Oh my gosh, that
- 43:31Speaker 1: sounds terrible on radio. Yeah, my Tampa Bay, stop, stop.
- 43:37Speaker 1: My mind's going nowhere. It should be going. And that
- 43:40Speaker 1: sounds worse too. My Tampa Bay Rays clinched it last night.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Here's the part that really kind of sucks is that they, well,
- 43:49Speaker 1: I don't know. It's kind of fun. They clinched it
- 43:53Speaker 1: at the Yankee Stadium in New York City. I mean,
- 43:56Speaker 1: nobody was saying anything. The crowd wasn't clapping. You couldn't
- 44:01Speaker 1: hear cheering. You could hear nothing. And it was, to me,
- 44:05Speaker 1: that was really satisfying. Here's the other part that's satisfying. Okay,
- 44:10Speaker 1: you know the Rays clinched not only the AL East,
- 44:14Speaker 1: but they are first place for all of American League.
- 44:18Speaker 1: They just ran away with it. You realize that, don't you? Yep. Admittedly, though,
- 44:23Speaker 1: the American League has been pretty bad. It's been a
- 44:25Speaker 1: little down, but the thing that's not bad in the
- 44:28Speaker 1: American league is the payroll. Are you ready for where
- 44:32Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay rays are ranked in the payroll in
- 44:35Speaker 1: the MLB?
- 44:37Speaker 2: Uh, just in the AL or in the MLB as a.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Whole, I think as a whole, they're 26 or 27. Okay.
- 44:41Speaker 1: So they, they rank them. They have them spending anywhere.
- 44:46Speaker 1: I don't know why it's, it's one of the two,
- 44:48Speaker 1: but I guess because they've been trading players or doing
- 44:50Speaker 1: something like that, but they have it, uh, The Tampa
- 44:53Speaker 1: Bay Rays' spend is between $ 89. 6 million and $ 114 million.
- 44:59Speaker 1: The closest team to them is the Baltimore Orioles at
- 45:05Speaker 1: $ 170 million, and the Orioles came in fifth place. The Yankees,
- 45:10Speaker 1: who were in second, spent $ 301 million. How crazy is
- 45:13Speaker 1: that right there? All right, hour two coming right up.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Send me more texts, 502-414-1450, and I'll get back to
- 45:20Speaker 1: them as well. Stay right there. This is Jessica Ashton.
- 45:24Speaker 6: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:49Speaker 1: All right, hour number two on this Wednesday. We do
- 45:53Speaker 1: this one time a day. We don't need to do it.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I just did it a second time. Yeah, you did.
- 45:58Speaker 1: You didn't stop me. I did. How am I going
- 46:00Speaker 1: to stop you? Come over there and pound you on
- 46:02Speaker 1: the head? You can't stop me. I'm unstoppable. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:03Speaker 1: A lot of truth to that right there. But, I mean,
- 46:06Speaker 1: you might be short, but you're mighty. But 502-414-1450, you
- 46:10Speaker 1: want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line, 502-384-1450.
- 46:12Speaker 1: You want to call in. I just looked up. Do
- 46:19Speaker 1: you know how much the Cincinnati Reds spent on their
- 46:21Speaker 1: roster this year? No. 149, just under 149 million. And
- 46:24Speaker 1: the Rays spent anywhere from 98 to 114 million. Isn't that,
- 46:28Speaker 1: or 89. Isn't that crazy that there's that much discrepancy
- 46:30Speaker 1: between the two salaries and one ran away with it
- 46:42Speaker 1: in the american league now we get it michael your
- 46:44Speaker 1: team rocks i know it's not what i'm saying because
- 46:47Speaker 1: i've been on a little more i've been a reds
- 46:50Speaker 1: fan all my life but they make it really hard
- 46:53Speaker 1: to be fans.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Of them it's real convenient when you've got a winner
- 46:56Speaker 2: as a team that you follow and a loser.
- 46:58Speaker 1: It is it is and it's gotten me to the
- 47:00Speaker 1: point where i have a hard time following the reds anymore.
- 47:03Speaker 2: It's kind of like your bingles and bucks thing either
- 47:05Speaker 2: way you're gonna have one of them teams be good i.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Think but you know but yeah but credit me a
- 47:09Speaker 1: little bit for years both of them sucked for a
- 47:11Speaker 1: long time that's true and i would have to say
- 47:14Speaker 1: up until the last uh five ten years the ray
- 47:18Speaker 1: haven't the rays haven't been good uh when they first
- 47:21Speaker 1: started as a franchise and i was a fan of
- 47:23Speaker 1: them i don't know i just like going to see
- 47:24Speaker 1: him play and But, no, for many years, the Bengals
- 47:28Speaker 1: and the Bucs sucked. And, of course, the Bucs suck now. So, yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 1: maybe I am switching over to Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't blame you. Yeah. Super Bowl, here they come. But, no,
- 47:40Speaker 1: I probably am still more of a Bucs fan than
- 47:42Speaker 1: anything else. But, yeah, one thing the– Bucs need to
- 47:48Speaker 1: do is get rid of Todd Bowles. He's terrible. And
- 47:52Speaker 1: what's even worse is they just signed, extended a contract
- 47:56Speaker 1: with Baker Mayfield. And I'm like, why? He just lost
- 47:59Speaker 1: to his old team. And he had three turnovers, three interceptions. Well,
- 48:05Speaker 1: they did the extension before that game. Yeah, I get it.
- 48:08Speaker 1: But you think he would be motivated to be this
- 48:10Speaker 1: former team. And he's terrible. I am not a Baker
- 48:14Speaker 1: Mayfield fan. I'm a huge Joe Burrow fan. But anyway,
- 48:19Speaker 1: that just goes. Joe Burrow needs to drop his girlfriend. Oh, really?
- 48:24Speaker 1: He has not looked good. Yeah. I mean, they've won
- 48:27Speaker 1: both games, but he hasn't looked good. Oh, so it's
- 48:29Speaker 1: a girlfriend factor. You're blaming the girlfriend. I don't know
- 48:32Speaker 1: what else it could be.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I might take on that right there. I mean,
- 48:39Speaker 1: you see what happened to Jackson Dart. That's true. Did
- 48:42Speaker 1: you see what his girlfriend had on before the game? No.
- 48:45Speaker 1: It's a weird outfit. I don't know. It's just kind
- 48:48Speaker 1: of weird. I shouldn't say. But speaking of the NFL,
- 48:51Speaker 1: Will Levis signed with the Jets on the practice squad,
- 48:55Speaker 1: taking the place of a former Western Kentucky quarterback, Bailey Zapp.
- 48:59Speaker 1: What do you think of him signing with the Jets?
- 49:03Speaker 1: Good luck to you. Yeah. I mean, that kind of
- 49:06Speaker 1: tells you. Not where I would want to go. That
- 49:08Speaker 1: kind of tells you his career is about over, doesn't it?
- 49:12Speaker 1: Not necessarily. Why? Jets deal with a lot of injuries.
- 49:15Speaker 1: You got that right. So do you want to play
- 49:17Speaker 1: for a team that deals with a lot of injury?
- 49:19Speaker 1: Because that tells you. me there's no pass protection with
- 49:22Speaker 1: the Jets.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I'd rather play in general than not play.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Fair, but he's gone from there's no one better than
- 49:30Speaker 1: me in the NFL. There's, what was it, 32 teams.
- 49:36Speaker 1: And to now he's on the, one of the worst
- 49:38Speaker 1: teams in the NFL and doesn't make the roster. He's
- 49:41Speaker 1: on the practice squad. Don't you have to say those things?
- 49:43Speaker 2: I mean, don't you have to have belief that you're
- 49:48Speaker 2: one of the best in the, in the world? There's
- 49:51Speaker 2: a certain sort of confidence you've got to have to
- 49:53Speaker 2: be a pro at.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I'm probably a little more lenient on
- 49:58Speaker 1: that when it comes to a coach because, you know, again,
- 50:02Speaker 1: we talked about it yesterday. A lot of people are
- 50:04Speaker 1: going to remember what Will Stein said. It's because of me.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I like that from a coach. From a player, it
- 50:11Speaker 1: sounds a little more cocky, and especially when– You're going
- 50:18Speaker 1: to put that out there and then you don't do it.
- 50:22Speaker 1: You don't make it. You don't succeed. It's like, oh,
- 50:25Speaker 1: do you really believe that? I mean, he is going
- 50:27Speaker 1: to live with that the rest of his life. And
- 50:30Speaker 1: I just but my problem is I never had all
- 50:34Speaker 1: that confidence in Will Levis. I never thought he was
- 50:36Speaker 1: that great of a quarterback. And I think I'm one
- 50:38Speaker 1: of the few that feel that way. Or you were.
- 50:42Speaker 1: You're probably not anymore. I don't think so anymore. But
- 50:45Speaker 1: I thought he was an okay quarterback at UK. Anyway,
- 50:50Speaker 1: UK offensive line coach, Cutter Leftwich, named National Coach of
- 50:55Speaker 1: the Week. How do you like that? By the Shriners.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I almost said Shiner. The Shriners people? The Shriner Children's
- 51:02Speaker 1: East West Bowl. Yeah. They're the ones with the funny heads, right?
- 51:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Shriner Circus. Great organization. Yeah. But I will have
- 51:13Speaker 1: to say that's not as good as the Pop-Tart Award, okay?
- 51:17Speaker 1: Just letting you know. Pop-Tart Award is the greatest award
- 51:20Speaker 1: you can win. UK recorded a 56% rushing success rate
- 51:28Speaker 1: on their game this past Saturday and a 24% rushing
- 51:32Speaker 1: explosive rate, along with the best pass protection we've seen
- 51:36Speaker 1: in a long time. Does it make you feel like
- 51:40Speaker 1: the big blue wall is back? I feel like I
- 51:43Speaker 1: need to have an understanding of what those stats mean.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I was hoping you would say that. What the hell
- 51:49Speaker 1: is a 56% rush rate? I have no idea.
- 51:52Speaker 2: I mean, you gain positive yardage on 56% of the time.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Exactly. But here's the only, so I understand the recorded,
- 52:01Speaker 1: the rushing success rate. I don't understand the 24% rushing
- 52:05Speaker 1: explosive rate. What is, somebody help me with this. What
- 52:11Speaker 1: is rushing explosive rate and why do we care?
- 52:14Speaker 2: I would guess like 24% of the time you ran
- 52:18Speaker 2: for over 10 yards.
- 52:21Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't know either. But when
- 52:24Speaker 1: I saw that, it's like, I'm hoping you say this
- 52:27Speaker 1: because that is one thing I would like to know
- 52:31Speaker 1: what it means. And I hope one day we find out.
- 52:38Speaker 1: All right, here we go. You ready? A rushing explosive
- 52:41Speaker 1: rate is the percentage of a team's or player's total
- 52:45Speaker 1: rushing attempts that result in a big gain. typically defined
- 52:50Speaker 1: as 10 or more yards. Now, see, that makes sense.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I nailed it. You did nail it. Because I honestly,
- 52:57Speaker 1: I didn't want to look it up until you and
- 52:59Speaker 1: I talked. I did not want to look it up
- 53:01Speaker 1: even during a break because I wanted I wanted us
- 53:04Speaker 1: to have our real reaction. And you did a great
- 53:07Speaker 1: job right there. What was the first one? The 56 percent,
- 53:09Speaker 1: the 56 percent rushing success rate. Now, I think we
- 53:14Speaker 1: nailed that one. Are you looking it up? Yeah, just
- 53:16Speaker 1: one moment. Okay, good. All right. So you looked that up.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Because I kind of feel like with this kind of success. Now, granted. Yeah,
- 53:23Speaker 1: basically exactly what we said. Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 53:27Speaker 1: But I thought, okay, what is rushing explosive rate? It
- 53:31Speaker 1: took me all I had to not look that up.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Because I wanted us to figure this out on the
- 53:35Speaker 1: show live. But the other problem is. No problem. The
- 53:42Speaker 1: other opportunity. How do you like that? That's something my
- 53:45Speaker 1: dad would say. The other opportunity. Can Cutter, left which,
- 53:49Speaker 1: have the success John Schlammer had at UK as far
- 53:52Speaker 1: as the offensive line? I really think he's on the
- 53:55Speaker 1: verge of it. I mean, you would know more than me. Yeah.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I don't really. I'm not knowledgeable enough to speak on it,
- 54:02Speaker 1: to be quite honest. With John Schlammer. Well, that was
- 54:04Speaker 1: when the big blue wall was defined. I mean, when
- 54:09Speaker 1: John Schlarman was the offensive line. That was back before
- 54:12Speaker 1: my sports talk radio days. Was it really?
- 54:14Speaker 2: When I absolutely hated Kentucky.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Ten years ago? Yeah.
- 54:18Speaker 2: I've only been in sports talk for eight.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I didn't realize that. Okay. Yeah. Well, you talk about
- 54:25Speaker 1: a good human being, a great person, a great family man,
- 54:29Speaker 1: and a great coach. That was John Schlarman. You'll never
- 54:32Speaker 1: hear me talk anything. poorly about John. I've never heard
- 54:35Speaker 1: anybody talk poorly. Yeah, no great guy. Uh, but, but
- 54:40Speaker 1: I just look, I, I, I look at this and think, okay,
- 54:43Speaker 1: cutter left, which you might be on the verge of
- 54:46Speaker 1: recreating the big blue wall again. And this has been
- 54:48Speaker 1: so much fun because I got worried. I mean, I
- 54:52Speaker 1: feel like the second stringers don't have it yet, but
- 54:55Speaker 1: maybe there is time yet because you saw that Alabama game.
- 55:00Speaker 1: They got tired. The first string got tired that second half. But, man,
- 55:04Speaker 1: they did not get tired against Texas A & M.
- 55:07Speaker 1: And I think that's the confidence slowly building in this unit.
- 55:12Speaker 1: And when you have something like that, guess what? That
- 55:16Speaker 1: spreads throughout the entire offense. Sure. Defense, too, for that matter.
- 55:20Speaker 1: And that's what I was getting ready to say. When
- 55:23Speaker 1: you get it on one side of the ball, guess what?
- 55:24Speaker 1: You're going to get it on the other side of
- 55:25Speaker 1: the ball. Because you see all the accolades that not
- 55:28Speaker 1: only the offense has gotten, but now the defense has gotten.
- 55:32Speaker 1: And that's what I really believe where Todd McShay might
- 55:38Speaker 1: be right because of the fact that, okay, something is
- 55:41Speaker 1: quietly happening at UK. Now, are we a little too
- 55:44Speaker 1: early yet? Yes. But it's still, that's a major, major
- 55:49Speaker 1: feat to it. go down somewhere and win against top
- 55:52Speaker 1: 10 teams. So I'm sorry about now. Now we've got
- 55:55Speaker 1: South Alabama. This coming weekend, starting core quarterback is Bishop Davenport.
- 56:02Speaker 1: He started the first two games until he got injured.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Now he's not playing anymore. and did not play last
- 56:10Speaker 1: weekend versus Ohio. Now they have a young man named
- 56:15Speaker 1: Jared Hollins who's taken over the helm and threw 192 yards,
- 56:20Speaker 1: one TD for the win last weekend. So, That doesn't
- 56:24Speaker 1: stop there. They're heavy on the running backs. They got
- 56:27Speaker 1: a young man named Keenan Phillips, PJ Martin, and Trayvon Dunbar.
- 56:31Speaker 1: So they got a threesome there. With two wide receivers,
- 56:35Speaker 1: a kid named Brendan Jenkins and Micah Woods as their
- 56:39Speaker 1: primary wide receivers. I just don't think that's the makings
- 56:42Speaker 1: of a great offense. If UK wins this weekend, where
- 56:49Speaker 1: do you think UK should be ranked the following week?
- 56:53Speaker 1: Depends how impressive it looks. And honestly... Really, it's got
- 56:56Speaker 1: to be impressive for them to even get into the
- 56:59Speaker 1: top 25.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if you win this game by three points,
- 57:02Speaker 2: you're obviously not going to move up. But that being said,
- 57:06Speaker 2: there is a lot of craziness that can go down
- 57:08Speaker 2: this week. There's a number of top 25 matchups. I
- 57:11Speaker 2: know you got Texas A & M, LSU. So if
- 57:14Speaker 2: LSU wins, A & M would drop out. That's going
- 57:16Speaker 2: to free up a spot. But I think to be safe,
- 57:20Speaker 2: I mean, you want to win this game by... 30
- 57:22Speaker 2: points probably.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:24Speaker 2: And then regardless of what else happens in the top 25,
- 57:27Speaker 2: that should get you.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Uh, one person texted in five Oh two, four, one, four, 1450. Uh, I, Michelle,
- 57:35Speaker 1: Just texted. I just got up trying to get my
- 57:37Speaker 1: body on Arizona time, only getting to 94 today. Okay,
- 57:41Speaker 1: just brag a little more. We're topping out at 70, Michelle.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Are you serious? It's only going to be 70 degrees?
- 57:48Speaker 1: I was burning hot on Sunday, and it's now three
- 57:51Speaker 1: days later, and it's getting to 70. Oh, sorry, 71. Oh, yippee. Okay,
- 57:57Speaker 1: I'm out of here. I mean, tell Corey I won't
- 57:59Speaker 1: be here next Tuesday. John here again. Congratulations on the
- 58:04Speaker 1: NAL title, Michael. Things might be just a little different
- 58:08Speaker 1: in the postseason as Jazz comes back and possibly judge
- 58:12Speaker 1: right after that. Yeah, but we took care of them
- 58:14Speaker 1: during the regular season with them there. Even with all
- 58:19Speaker 1: the injuries this year, I was still happy to see
- 58:21Speaker 1: my Yankees still have a good season in some aspects.
- 58:24Speaker 1: How are you a Yankees fan living in Evansville, Indiana? Yankees, Chiefs, Cats.
- 58:31Speaker 5: Oh.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Oh. Is that what you're telling me? He only roots
- 58:36Speaker 1: for teams that win? No, he has a reason for
- 58:38Speaker 1: all of them. Oh, he does? He always gets crap
- 58:41Speaker 1: for it. But don't you think that once you're a
- 58:44Speaker 1: fan of one particular team in one city, you should
- 58:47Speaker 1: be a fan of the rest of those teams in
- 58:49Speaker 1: that city? Absolutely not. Oh, really? I'm not that way.
- 58:52Speaker 1: You're not? All right. I'm not a Bengals fan, just
- 58:54Speaker 1: because I'm a Reds fan. Oh, that's right. You're a
- 58:57Speaker 1: Steelers fan. And a matter of fact, I'm a Tampa
- 58:59Speaker 1: Bay Lightning fan, so my cities are nowhere close to
- 59:02Speaker 1: each other. That is wild. Yeah. Yeah. Well, let's talk
- 59:05Speaker 1: about the Colts for a second. What do you think
- 59:08Speaker 1: of the owner- being on the field and taking notes
- 59:13Speaker 1: during the Colts games? She's done this for like two years.
- 59:16Speaker 1: I know. And it's people are starting to really criticize
- 59:20Speaker 1: her for this. Why? She's the owner. She could do
- 59:25Speaker 1: what she wants. You're right about that. But is that
- 59:27Speaker 1: the way an owner should act? Well, she's not. So
- 59:30Speaker 1: you know why she does that, right? Honestly, I don't.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Tell me why.
- 59:34Speaker 2: So she wants to be close to the action. She
- 59:37Speaker 2: wants to hear the interactions between the coaches and the players.
- 59:40Speaker 2: If I'm not mistaken, I think she even wears an earpiece.
- 59:43Speaker 1: She does. So she can, like, hear the play calls
- 59:45Speaker 1: and all that. She hears every bit of it. Yeah.
- 59:47Speaker 1: I like it. You do like that?
- 59:50Speaker 2: I want my owner to be as much involved as
- 59:53Speaker 2: humanly possible because that's– Knowing those little details and hearing
- 59:58Speaker 2: those little communication things and jotting notes during the games,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: those are the types of things that can ultimately lead
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: them to where they want to go. I mean, when
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: you're constantly evaluating every aspect of your organization, that's only
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: a positive.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I could not disagree with you more. That is called micromanagement.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: And micromanagement does not equal success. That's not true, though. Oh,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: it's very true.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: If you watch her on the sidelines, she's not like
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: going up to the coaches and being like, hey, you're
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: shut or don't miss.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I'm shut on that. She has done that in the past, though.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: She has.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: But for the most part, she stays by herself, walks
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: on the sidelines. She's just taking in the whole thing,
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: trying to figure out what do we need to do
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: to be better.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Let your coaches– you don't need to be involved
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: in listening to what the coaches are saying or any
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: of that. You hire a coach to do the coaching job.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: You're owner. You are there to manage, not micromanage. I
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: don't think that's micromanaging. I do.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I think that is her truly looking at all the
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: details of their franchise and wanting to be as involved
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: and as knowledgeable as possible.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I love it. I respect the hell out of it.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I bet. All right. So in other words, if somebody
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: was constantly listening to your show and taking notes and
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: listening the entire time and then want to confront you
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: with things that you say on your show on a
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: daily basis, you don't think that would drive you nuts?
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I mean, if they- Ah, come on. No, I mean.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: It's yes or no.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if they're doing it in a way
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: that's going to be beneficial to me and make my
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: show better, then I'm not going to be mad about it.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Oh, I think you would get so tired of it. No, Justin,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: God love you, but I'm going to tell you right now,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: you would get so burned out. It's like, I don't
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: need this. Let me do my show. Let me do
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: my thing. I know what I'm doing. I've been doing
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: this for 10 years now. Let me do it. I
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: can do this. You don't need to be sitting here
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: listening to every show and making notes.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: But also, we're talking about this when we don't even
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: know the back story behind it. Like, you don't know
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: if she's going to their coaching staff or players or
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: who she's going to after every game and be like,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: here's my thoughts. This is what I jotted down during
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: the game. Those could be things that she's just writing
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: down for herself to go back and revisit later.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: But she's still revisiting them later. And that's her.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Job as an owner, to make the franchise as good
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: as humanly possible.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: You are correct about that, but she's going about it
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: the wrong way. Man. One person texted in and said,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Don Madden is from Evansville. I forgot that. A longtime
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Yankee great and former manager. That is why many Evansville
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: residents are Yankee fans. See, that part I didn't know.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Trying to think. Who's? Well, Pee Wee Reese, I mean,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: was from Louisville. Were there a number of people back
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: in the day that were Dodger fans? He played for
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: the Reds, too, for what it's worth. That's right. He
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: did play for them. When he was the most famous
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: was with the Dodgers, wasn't it? I would say so. Yeah.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: And he did play for the Reds. But, hmm. Okay,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: I get it. I get it. But I don't think
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: we had many Dodger fans here with Peary Reese. All right.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: When the Golden Boy, what was his name? The running
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: back for the Green Bay Packers in Notre Dame from Louisville.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Paul Horning. You listening? Yeah, he went way back. Yeah.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I think people to this day are Green Bay Packer
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: fans because of Paul Horning. Maybe. I don't know. I
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: think that. You got all these Ravens fans now.
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Do you really? Are there a bunch of Ravens fans here? Absolutely.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: All because of Lamar. Yeah, but you know what? When
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Tim Couch played for the Browns, I still hated the Browns.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Because you knew you weren't going to win. No, I
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: was a Bengals fan. It's going to take you to
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: the toilet bowl. I was a Bengals fan, and we
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: grew up hating the Browns. I didn't like the dog pound. Oh, crap. So, no. Yeah, exactly. So,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: I'm not– that kind of crap, I'm just– don't get
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: me started on that topic because I will get upset
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: about that. Michael, don't pound scoots on hump day. Phrasing
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Michael phrasing.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: That is a good point. Thank you. Something you would say. Michael,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: a little tip on how radio works. You want people
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: constantly listening to the show and interacting. What does that mean?
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Of course I do. Did I do something?
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: No, I think he's just about your point with people
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: listening and giving you feedback.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Oh, okay. But I get what you were saying, coming
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: from like a management position. Yes. Yeah.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: But he's right with listeners. Give me all the criticism
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: you want. It doesn't bother me. No, I like that.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Because, you know, if I irritate people that listen to
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: this show, I want to know why I irritate you.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Because I know with some of the UofL fans, I
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: irritate them because I'm talking about their team and they
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: don't like what I say sometimes. Well, I mean, it's
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: just a joke. I mean, can I not say that kiddingly?
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Is kiddingly a word? I think so. Never heard it. Okay.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: How else would you say it? Can I not say
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: it in a kidding way? Jokingly? Okay. I think you
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: can say kiddingly, but anyway. You maybe can. I've never
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: heard it. Yeah. Well, guess what? I just made it up.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: It'll be in the dictionary in the next five years. Anyway,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: take another break. 502-414-1450. When we come back, we got
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: to talk about this ring match. I don't know if
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: you saw this or not. It's a wild one. Wait
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: till you hear about it. This is just a cast.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Had a beer and felt sorry for myself.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Sayin' let her cry.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: If the tears fall down like rain. Let her sing.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: If it eases all her pain. Let her go.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Let her walk right out on me.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: And if the.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: Sun goes up tomorrow.
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: Let her.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: Toothbrush, some toothpaste A flannel for my face Pajamas, a hairbrush.
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: New shoes and a case.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: I said to my reflection Let's get out of this
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: place Past the church and the steeple The laundry on
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: the hill The billboards and the buildings Memories of it
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: still keep calling.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: So this is my wife's favorite band and favorite song
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: right here. I know this one. Oh, you do know
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: this one?
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I didn't think I would when you sent it, but yeah,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I know this one. Yeah, this is an old song
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: back from the 80s. She loves Squeeze, and then the
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: other big song that they have is Black Coffee in Bed.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: And I bet you would recognize that one, too. So
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: anytime this comes on the radio, she starts dancing and it's,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: she can't, you know, it's funny. She was a ballerina
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: back in the day and she has no rhythm. And
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: it's like, how do you have no rhythm and can't
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: dance yet? You were a ballerina. She's got to do
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: the thing in her head. I don't know. Oh, she's terrible.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: I know I can say this cause she's not listening
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: and she won't listen. I hope she's, I hope she's not. No,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I can tell you she's not. Uh, by the way, she's, uh,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: down in North Carolina with her dad, who's having a
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: little procedure today. So I'd like to say, Mr. Botticelli,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: best of luck to you. So how do you like
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: that for sucking up? Come on. Yeah. Need a stroll?
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Make it a little easier? But, yeah, I mean, the
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: guy's 92 years old. Holy moly. Yeah, yeah. And doing
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: what you'd never know. He still drives, lives by himself,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: you know, because Patricia lost her mom back in February.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: But that's good for him. I'm a little envious because
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I'd like one of my parents still around.
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: Sure.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Anyway, by the way, I do want to mention this before,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: because since we've been talking a little bit about baseball today,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: New York Mets announced that former UK baseball player has
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: now landed the managerial position for that team. And congratulations
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: to him. He played back in the day for UK
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: in 1997 to 2000. So I think... that's awesome for him.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: And of course, I don't want to give us his name.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: I knew you were going to say that. But it's
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Andy Green. So there you go. Andy Green played for
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: the UK in 1997 to 2000, setting multiple school records
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: with hits, 277. Runs with 199, starts at 255, and
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: at-bats with 908, and then finished it with appearances of 228.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: So there's your Andy Green update. Hey, speaking of Green,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: I was going to bring this up yesterday. Yeah.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: So you had mentioned the Kentucky defender, Green, who got, like, what,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: player of the year or player of the week or whatever?
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Defensive player of the week. So isn't it weird that
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Kentucky and Louisville, Both have a defender who had a
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: very good game on Saturday with the last name Green.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't realize that, really.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: And they also both have a really good tight end
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: with the last name Skinner.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: What? How weird is that? Okay, Green is a little
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: more common of a name. Skinner I don't think is
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: a more common name out there. Yeah. That's crazy. I
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: thought that was weird. That is weird. Okay, well, it's
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: going to be interesting to see who can keep up
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: with the play calling Tom Leach or– UofL's announcer. I'm
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: going to go with Tom Leach. You are? Yeah. I
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: know why. I mean, it's so sad. He's the best. Yes,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: he is. Other than Don Fisher, he's the absolute best.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Other than Don Fisher. Nobody's better than Don. I don't
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: know if you saw this or not, but there's a
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: video out. It happened this past weekend over in San
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Francisco where a man got into a cage match, agreed
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: to do this, and fought a six-foot robot. Did you
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: see the video to this? I did see it. Oh,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: my God. Kudos to him for trying. I think the
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: guy's an idiot. How do you fight a robot and
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: beat them? Here's the difference. Robots don't feel pain. Humans do. Well,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I think if you were able to trip it, it
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: wouldn't be able to get back up. Oh, you think so?
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't think it'd be able to get back up.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, at that point, if he
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: does fall down, I'm ripping the head off as fast
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: as I can. And I don't know if that kills
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: the robot. I mean, he can still go. I mean,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: he can still. Did you see the kick? Yeah, gnarly.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: I mean, knocked him down. I just don't understand why
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: any human being would want to go fight a robot.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Now they're talking about, well, can we now use this
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: in battle if we have to? Heaven forbid we don't
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: have to. I mean, now, geez. I mean, I guess
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: we could. Would you get into the ring with a
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: six foot robot? Would you get into the ring with
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: a three foot robot? Oh, three foot robot for sure.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: You would? I would mess that thing up. The legs
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: on that six foot guy. I mean, they were long
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: and they were strong.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Okay. And the way he kicked that guy down, I
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: know I mentioned a second ago, but man, it was
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: some force there. Now, granted, it was powered by a
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: guy that was using a remote control. Clearly. Yeah, and
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: so I want to know the guy's mindset that thought
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: he could actually get into the ring and have a
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: chance of winning. I want to know how much money
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: he got paid. Ooh, that's a good question. Because I'm
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: not doing that for free. I don't know, but I, well,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I'm not doing it at all. I am never going
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: to battle a robot. I just don't see anyone ever.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Even if Mike Tyson was in the best shape of
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: his life and got into the ring with a robot,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: I'm taking the robot every single time.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: Would you watch a robot fighting? Like if these things
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: just fought each other.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Well, remember when I was a kid, we had that
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Rock'em Sock'em? Yeah. And I always thought that was an
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: awesome game. And every time that the person would win,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: the other robot's head would fling up. Yeah. Okay. Well,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: it depends. It depends on, what if they put like
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: some artificial blood in the thing and then, you know,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: red dye comes out?
- 1:13:24Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: All right, then we won't do that. Well, if body
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: parts could fall off the robot, I probably would. Would
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: you watch? Or if their head just popped up like
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: you're talking about? Well, I don't want it to pop up.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: I want it to pop up and fall off. I
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: want it to just go up to the ceiling and boom,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: it's done. And fireworks go off when it pops off. Yeah.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I can get behind that. Well, would you watch it?
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: I would watch it. You would? Okay. I don't know.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: I still think the great one is the one we
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: talked about last week. And that was where the demolition
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: derby where the guys were trying to take their car.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: and get on the back of a trailer being pulled
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: by a demolition truck. I thought that was– you can't
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: go wrong with that. I'm still all about that one.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: So I don't know if you've seen this or not,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: but can we talk about Reed Shepard for a second? Oh,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: my gosh. Yes, we can. When I saw the picture
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: of him, so if you haven't seen it yet, media
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: day was yesterday for the Houston Rockets. And Reed Shepard
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: is entering his third year, which is hard to believe.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: He would be a senior right now at UK. And
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: I'm like, wow. But when I saw that, I had
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: to go look first, and then I had to tweet
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: it out. He looked like Jack Black from Nacho Libre.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Here's my question.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: Did I miss an announcement that they're remaking some Pablo
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Escobar movie?
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Because that's what he looks like. Oh, you think he
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: looks more like Pablo Escobar? Absolutely. I think they are.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: I forget who is supposed to be playing Pablo Escobar.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Look it up real quick. Reed Shepard is who should
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: play Pablo Escobar. I think he looks like Jack Black.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: You do a comparison. Do you think he looks more
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: like Pablo Escobar or Jack Black in Nacho Libre? And
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it's pretty close resemblance. I'm saying Pablo.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Are you really? Okay. All right. I can't argue with you.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Jack Black and what? Nacho Libre. Go look that up.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: It was the dumbest wrestling movie ever. It was based
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: on a Mexican wrestler. I could also see that. See?
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: And when they do the close-up, I'm like, has he
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: gained weight? It almost looked like he needs to go
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: on Ozempic for a little bit. He looks crazy. He
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: really does. But then when they back off the close
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: shot of him, it's like, okay, he looks in shape.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: But something's changed about him. And it's not just the
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: bushy hair and the mustache. I mean, has he just
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: been lifting like crazy? Great question. Yeah, I saw that.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I saw the picture yesterday. I was like,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: you got to be kidding me. Yeah, yeah. Doesn't even
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: look like the same kid. No. Not even close. All right,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: let's go back to the whiskey. What do you think
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Stacey thinks about his look? Oh, I bet she doesn't
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: like it. Probably not. Yeah. That mustache is horrible. Yeah,
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: it is. I mean, are you trying to get the
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Richie Farmer look? I don't know. Michelle texted. Are you
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: ready for this?
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: 502-414-1450. Yes.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Kiddingly is a word. It is an adjective. That describes
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: something that is meant as a joke or not to
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: be taken seriously. It can also be used as a
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: verb to indicate that someone is not being serious. How
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: about that? There you go. So I am not using
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: made-up words on this show. Thank you very much. At
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: least not today.
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: No.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: And there'll be days, trust me. One person texted in,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: what's irritating is how much time you take off missing shows. Oh,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: my gosh. Here we go. I know you don't care,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: but we get used to listening to your show as
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: part of our daily schedule. You said when you had
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: that last break before the season that you couldn't do
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: it during the season. Now you're off again this week
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: and next. Yeah, Michael, I dare you. All right, all right.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I did say that, Dexter. But in all fairness,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: you don't miss shows. I really don't for the most part.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I think you've missed ten shows in two weeks. Really?
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Two years and some change? Yeah, yeah. And I appreciate that.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Because you know why you say that? It's because you
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: care about this show and you care about me. And
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: I take that as a compliment. So I apologize. So
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: hopefully it shouldn't happen, but just some unforeseen circumstances have
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: come up. I got to go do this. So anyway,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: one person texted in and said, So we are just
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: sparing with Terminators now is what you're saying, or sparring. Yeah. Basically, yeah.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Watch the movie Real Steel about fighting robots with Hugh Jackman.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I haven't seen that. Speaking of movies, Reed looks like
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: he's auditioning for a role in Boogie Nights. That's a
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: great one right there. You've never seen Boogie Nights, have you?
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: I've never seen it. Man, I can't believe. All right.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: There's so many movies you need. I know. Boogie nights.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: It's good. Got John C. O'Reilly. It does have John
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: and it's got, um, um, Mark Wahlberg in it. And
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: who is the famous actor from the 70s? He's in it, too. Anyway,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Burt Reynolds. Yeah, Burt Reynolds is in it. Horning the
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: pride of Fort A. Hanley said, Horning the pride of
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Flagey Ha loved to gamble and was suspended along with
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Alex Carras for a year from the NFL for gambling.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: Hmm.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Wow. Is Escobar the goat of drug dealers? No question.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: He's the one we know the most, isn't it? No,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: he's the goat. He is?
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I mean, the dude, there are wild hippos in Columbia
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: because of him.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's. Wait, what are you talking? There
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: are wild hippos in Columbia because Escobar brought them? So
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: when he got really big. Is there not a zoo there?
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: No, so when he got really big, he wanted to
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: have like his own zoo. So he ended up, I
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: don't remember how many it was, maybe like. 12 hippos
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: but yeah so when he got arrested they didn't remove
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: the hippos and now there's over 100 hippos in columbia
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: i had.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: They don't belong yeah that's the wildest thing i've ever
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: heard a hundred hippos because of well clearly they were
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: just a few and then they made it and that's
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: what that's how they i.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Mean this man got to do it they let him
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: build his own jail what Yeah.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: He had his own jail? For what purpose?
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: They were going to arrest him, and he said he
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: worked out a deal with them that he could build
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: his own jail and that he'd have his guards watch
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: over him and make sure he was good at all times.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Oh, because he felt like probably someone would kill him
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: in the other jail? He was just literally paying off everybody. Wow.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Every single person in the world was getting Pablo Escobar money. Wow. Okay.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: He's incredible. Yeah. I don't know if I want to
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: say he's incredible. I am fascinated with Pablo Escobar. People
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: are addicted to drugs and might be no longer on
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: this world because of him. I mean, he wasn't selling fentanyl.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: It was just a little cocaine. Oh, my God. You
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: don't think cocaine kills you? It does. It's just a
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: little cocaine. It's like everything else. You're going to say
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: it's just a little fentanyl. It's like everything else. Just
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: do it in moderation. Oh, my gosh. Okay. That I
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: am going to disagree with you on. All right. Whatever.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Do it in moderation. Just do a little fentanyl. No,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: you can't do that. Don't do any fentanyl. Let me
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: put that out there. I'm not saying do a little
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: of that. Kids, don't do any drugs. That's what I say.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: Drugs are bad. Michael, they are bad. What did Miss
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Reagan say? Nancy Reagan said for years, just say no.
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: Okay?
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: That's all you got to do.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: That's easy. Well, we're going to just say no right now.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: We can't talk anymore because we've got to take a break.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: But when we come back, we're going to talk about
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: this Florida man. I love these Florida man stories. Wait
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: till you hear this when he got pulled over for DUI. Anyway,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: we'll talk about that. And then Bryson DeChambeau has something new.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: I think I'm kind of interested in this. I'm going
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: to see if you're interested, too. Stay right there. This
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: is Jessica.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: The truth is discovered. Time to buy the fruit.
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: Of another Time to buy the fruit.
- 1:21:57Speaker 6: Of another Thank you.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Maybe you should have gone a little ahead, a little further.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Maybe you should.
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: Have not told me the library.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: I mean, I figured you would figure this out. I
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: did skip ahead 30 seconds.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: It's a great song, by the way, and we don't
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: get to hear any of it, but that's okay. Uh,
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Gary Clark jr. Who I, I, I'm a huge fan
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: of that guy. You mean you want to talk about
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: a guy that's replaced, uh, Prince, it's that guy right there.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: I mean, he's, I know that's a little extreme, but
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: I just. Little. Okay. A little extreme. Come on, he's good.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: He is really good. One, Patrick texted in, I think
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: Scoots and I could tag team a six foot robot. Okay.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: You take the low and he take the high. I'm out.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: If it's six foot tall, I'm out. Really? Even if
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: you tag teamed it with Patrick, you wouldn't do it?
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Three foot tall men. Oh, wow. Six foot amount. Okay.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Josh texted and said, oh boy, Griselda Blanco would cut
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: Escobar's head off and eat lunch with his head on
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: the table. All right. Let me look into Griselda. I
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: have no idea. Is this a woman, by the way?
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. She is mean looking. Oh, really?
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: Now I've got to learn more. She was known as
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: the godmother of cocaine.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Okay. I got to learn more about her. Yeah. Now
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: I got to. Oh, my gosh. She's also Colombian. Oh,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: my gosh. Is she still alive? She's scary, right? Yeah. No,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: she passed away. Shot dead. Really? Really? I mean, you're
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: gangster when you're shot dead. I mean, my gosh, man.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Scoots is anti-Fentanyl. That's a bold stance there. Just putting
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: it out there. We are anti-Fentanyl. Hey, Scoots, you have
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: an administration for Pablo Escobar, do you? No, an admiration. Yeah. Hey,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: mind if I come over and take you to lunch
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: in a bit? Don't worry. I'll drive. Yeah, that's fine.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: We can talk more about Pablo, Jamie. If you don't
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: know who Jamie is, he's a police officer. So I
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: fully expect the state troopers from Indiana to be at
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: your house a little later on this afternoon.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: I never had any involvement with Escobar. I don't dabble
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: in what Escobar dabbled in. I'm simply saying I'm fascinated
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: by Pablo.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Yes, sure you are. What do you
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: think about Bryson DeChambeau? He is starting a 10-day golf
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: competition featuring 10 golfers competing at his home for a $ 100, 000
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: grand prize. So stupid. The winner faces DeChambeau in a
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: three-hole final. If DeChambeau wins, a lucky follower gets $ 100, 000.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Why is that dumb? I like it.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: That's not how I read it. Well, that's how I'm
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: reading it right now. I think if he loses... Oh,
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: if he wins?
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: No.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: I thought I heard if he loses, one of his
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: followers gets the $ 100, 000. No.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: The winner faces DeChambeau in a three-hole final. If DeChambeau wins,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: a lucky follower gets the money. But what if he loses?
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: I'm assuming the other person that won gets the money
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: and does it with whatever they want to put in
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: their pocket, or they give it to somebody. I don't know.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: It doesn't say, so I can't answer that. There's a
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: good chance he could get beat. Is it? Well, I'm
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: sure there's a good chance he could get beat. There's
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: some good golfers. Oh, very good. But it's on his
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: home course. I mean, don't you think he's played that
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: a little more and he's going to win more times
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: than not? Probably so.
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: But he's also a little erratic. Whereas you've got some
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: of the other golfers there like Wesley Bryan, who is
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: not very erratic or Grant Horvath.
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: There's some good golfers in. One person in Texas says,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: what do you think about all the pictures taken 40
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: minutes before the game showing empty seats criticizing fan base's support?
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: So stupid. Which game are we talking about? Any of them.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: You see that around the country. Oh, look at this
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: light crowd. But is he talking about somebody specific, though?
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: That I don't know. I can't read his mind. Yeah,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: so I'd like to know which game you're talking about now.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: But I don't think it needs to be about somebody specific.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: I mean, literally, I've seen those posts for Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana.
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, USC. I mean, those posts go rampant
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: all the time. Like, yeah, y'all know you can read
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: the clock, and there's still 42 minutes to the game.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: Time, right? Well, how early do you get to a game?
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: It depends on how good the tailgating is, but... Typically, 20,
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: 25 minutes before kickoff.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: Do you think Will Stein is going to continue to
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: ask people to get there really early? Probably. Set the tone.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: I think so, too. Energy-wise, yeah. Absolutely. It worked against Alabama. Now,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: will they do it against Alabama?
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: No.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Probably not. But that's okay. Maybe they will.
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: They might give them like a, maybe they feel like
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: that it's deserved that they show up.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Because of the big win last weekend. See, I think
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: there's going to be a number of people that believe
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: from that standpoint. I need to get there early. I
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: want to enjoy this. I want to savor the moment
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: the week after UK takes down the number 19. I
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: hope that's how majority. I don't think everybody will, but
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: I'm just hoping there will be a bunch of people there.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: I mean, this team definitely deserves that. So does the staff.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: So I'm hoping it's a big game, but I don't
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: think it's, if you ask me, I don't think it's
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: going to be much game. I'm hoping it's not going
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: to be much of a game, but let's talk about
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: this Florida man arrested for DUI, but claims he was
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: not driving, even though he was in the driver's seat.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: How's that? Did you see this story? No. Here's who
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: he's saying who is driving he claims that his tesla
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: cyber truck was driving itself so therefore he was not
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: drunk driving oh then i'm with him are you really
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: yeah Yeah, I think the police say differently. If you're
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: sitting in the driver's seat, you're considered a driver, even
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: though your car is self-driving. Why would he not sit
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: in the passenger seat? What an idiot. Well, okay. I
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: don't know anything about Teslas or these self-driving cars. I
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: bet you have to. I think the car watches where
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: your eyes are. And if your eyes are not on
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: the road, it stops driving. Because I rented a car...
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: A week or two ago where I was driving it,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: and it would indicate on the dashboard, your eyes are not,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: I can't see where your eyes are. And I'm like,
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: what the heck? That seems like a car problem. Exactly.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: How's that my problem? So that would be the first
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: thing I would disconnect. Don't worry about where my eyes are. Right.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: But I think with a Tesla, it knows whether a
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: person is in the driver's seat or not. Now, if
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: you're in a Waymo. Throw a heavy sandbag in the
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: driver's seat. It doesn't see your eyes, though. I think
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: it all related on your eyes. I don't know. I
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: don't have a Tesla. I'd love to hear more about this.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: If somebody out there has a Tesla and you can
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: explain it to me a little better than I'm explaining it. So.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: That's wild. Yeah. He was talking about UK or UofL.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: UK and UofL. Well, UK was away. Oh, the empty seats.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: You had to talk about U of L, I guess. Yeah. Anyway.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I don't think he was specifically meaning this week. Couldn't
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: have meant this week. But anyway, a lot of big
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: games this weekend. Huge games. Texas, Tennessee, I think is
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: the biggest. Even more so than the Ole Miss-Florida game.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: So you got Texas and Tennessee. A lot of controversy
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: about Tennessee-Texas game being at noon. And the explanation is, well,
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: we had to pick months before, and we were guessing
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: the LSU game would be even bigger. LSU-Texas A & M.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: Not knowing that. And the truth of the matter is,
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: they would have been right if Kentucky had lost. You
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: would have had the number nine team playing against the
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: number 10 team. So that would have been the biggest game.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Because Texas UT is playing at noon, and now you've
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: got Texas A & M LSU playing at 730. And
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: so a lot of people are saying that's a missed opportunity.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: Who do you think will win that Tennessee-Texas game? Texas. Yeah.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I do, too. And I think they're going to put
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: a thumping on Tennessee, if you ask me. You realize
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: we have seven ranked matchups this weekend? Isn't that fun? Seven. Yeah,
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: I love it. And majority of them, all seven of
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: those are in the SEC, aren't they? Incorrect. Two are
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: in the Big Ten, big dog. That's right. Iowa versus Michigan,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: and you got Oregon versus Southern Cal. That's right. But
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: then you got Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, Oklahoma, who's
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: not ranked, is against Georgia, Vandy, Auburn, South Carolina against Alabama,
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: and then you got number 23, Texas A & M
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: versus number 10, LSU. and number 19, Missouri, at number 24,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: Mississippi State. It's going to be a fun weekend of football.
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Mississippi State's six-and-a-half point favorite over Missouri. How do
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: you like that? That's crazy. Nothing would make me happier
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: than having Mississippi State beat Dorkowitz. I need to watch
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: that game this weekend. Do you? I haven't checked out
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Kamari and Taylor yet, their quarterback. Yeah. Or Kamario.
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: But everybody's– been talking about him he must be pretty dang.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Good yeah yeah absolutely and that that will be but
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: i mean i think that texas ut game will be
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: fine i i remember josh hypo making the comment there's
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: only one ut in this conference do you like that
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: see i i i i think he's not wrong to
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: me there's only one ut in this conference it's tennessee
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: it's not texas texas you're texas you're not even in
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: the south you're in the southwest technically they're both No,
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: it's University of Tennessee. Sorry, it's not going to be
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: that way the rest of my life. All right, everybody,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: I'll see you next Tuesday, but we'll have people filling in,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: so it'll be okay, and I'll be back. So thank
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: you for listening. We'll see you then. Have a great day, everybody.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: Move on.
