- 0:04Let me in your ear. I got something you need to hear.
- 0:07Turn the volume up so it's loud and clear. A podcast where we talk about politics
- 0:12and culture unscripted. No limits.
- 0:14Like a 504 soldier. We're not pretenders. Ain't no agendas. Our only plan is
- 0:18to keep it 100 and do it for the fam. Yeah.
- 0:25What up? What up? What up? What's going on? Same all same. Can't complain.
- 0:30I'm Six Mill, keeping it true. It's your boy, KG.
- 0:33Welcome to episode 12 of For The Fam Podcast. Dirty dozen.
- 0:40What's up with you, bro? How you been? You all right? Good, man.
- 0:42Can't complain. Had a, uh, woke up late. Had a lazy day.
- 0:46Yeah, it was a beautiful day. Actually, the last couple of days have been beautiful here in Indiana.
- 0:52It won't be tomorrow. No, it's Indiana. We knew the nice weather wouldn't last long, but... Sure.
- 0:59By the time I leave here, the temperature will probably drop 25 degrees. Facts.
- 1:04Facts. That's Indiana. You know, we get a little bit of everything,
- 1:08bro. So anyway, what's on your mind, bro? What you want to talk about today?
- 1:12So we're going to talk about a pretty broad topic, many different ways to go with it.
- 1:19So sort of sort of like a pathway to whiteness, so to speak,
- 1:25talking about how people of color, not necessarily immigrants,
- 1:31but, you know, non-white people in America or people that come here assimilate
- 1:36to white culture to better themselves
- 1:40while in the process demeaning other people that look like them.
- 1:45Like a fast track to being socially accepted. Exactly.
- 1:51OK, I got you. Well, you want to you want to just jump right into it?
- 1:55Yes, sir. All right. Let's get into it.
- 1:57All right. So when we talk about a pathway to whiteness and some may or may
- 2:03not be aware of this, but socially,
- 2:08keep that in mind, socially, not pigmentation wise.
- 2:12Italians were not considered white until like between the 1940s and the 1970s.
- 2:23Irish were not considered white until the late 19th century or early 20th century.
- 2:34Their path to whiteness, to keep using that term,
- 2:40or the quickest path to whiteness was to exclude blacks from labor unions and
- 2:49skilled positions or skilled trades.
- 2:53So I guess what we're getting at is the way to be, and I'm not saying it's just
- 3:02politically motivated, but that seems to be a large part of it.
- 3:06But the way to ascend in America up the social ladder is to put down black people.
- 3:14So I want to stick with Irish immigrants. So they were largely in the same communities
- 3:20as black folks back in those days.
- 3:23And what they started to do is they used their numbers to start to gain political
- 3:31power in those communities.
- 3:33And then next they started going, you know, firemen, police officers and started
- 3:39distancing themselves from the black Americans that they once sat on the front stoop. Correct.
- 3:45And shared the last, I don't know, the last can of beans or whatever with them.
- 3:49But they started to pull away, started participating.
- 3:56And anti-black nonsense, because that's all it was, was a bunch of nonsense.
- 4:01They were considered non-white, but legally, Irish Americans were classified as white in the census.
- 4:08Right. While being treated less than.
- 4:11Right. Which is why I wanted to emphasize social. Yeah, absolutely.
- 4:16But you are absolutely correct in that.
- 4:19I'm trying not to repeat myself, but it's so funny because I think you and I
- 4:24have had this conversation.
- 4:26Because it's kind of clicking in my mind a while back about how the Irish-Americans
- 4:31and the Italian-Americans basically turned their back on the black community to start to fit in.
- 4:39And it's, I mean, they were criticized not only for being an inferior group
- 4:45of people, they were criticized for being Catholic.
- 4:48And it's interesting how it hasn't changed that much today.
- 4:55Not so much between Italians and Irish, but now with your Middle Eastern people
- 5:03who come over here and turn their backs on black people to assimilate, to fit in.
- 5:10And we're thinking about the Vivek Ramaswamis.
- 5:14We're thinking about the Kash Patels, even though he loves the black culture,
- 5:19think he's a rapper, spells his name with a dollar sign.
- 5:23But yet, everything you do is against black people. You know what his first name is, right?
- 5:30It's Kashmir, ain't it? It's Kashmir.
- 5:33I knew that. You're right. I knew that. I mean, technically it's pronounced,
- 5:38I think, like Cash App or something. I don't want to butcher the man's name,
- 5:43but I mean, look at the merchandise he sells. Right.
- 5:46If that don't tell me that you love to immerse yourself in one culture and then
- 5:54demonize that same culture.
- 5:56Hey, man, when I first saw some of the old videos of him like doing interviews
- 6:00and podcast stuff with the beanie and the hoodie and I'm like,
- 6:04mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
- 6:08But you want to parade Chauncey Billups around.
- 6:11I still have not seen any one of these mafiosos picture,
- 6:18but y'all got Chauncey all over the news, parading him around to demonize the
- 6:24black man and the black community.
- 6:27Meanwhile, the credibility of the NBA continues to fall when Chauncey Billups
- 6:33did nothing. Whatever he did.
- 6:35Had nothing to do with the league. Nothing.
- 6:39And even Terry Rozier. Terry Rozier wasn't fixing games.
- 6:43Terry Rozier checked out with 11 points, with nine points instead of 11.
- 6:48The game wasn't fixed. He just wasn't in the game anymore. That's right.
- 6:52Hey, bet that I'm going to score under 11. I'm going to check myself out at nine points. Right.
- 6:56That's not fixing the game, but yet they're allowing this narrative to be pushed
- 7:04that the NBA is somehow rigged and these players, just like they did.
- 7:08The black players in the 70s sure in the 80s when they accused all of them of being on cocaine right.
- 7:14Some of that's probably true. But the fact that that's what they did to demonize the league. Sure, sure.
- 7:24Players back in the 70s. Sure, 100, 100, 100, 100.
- 7:28You know, we think back a few years, right, to the whole Ivy League admission
- 7:36scandal and how the Asians came out so hard against the black students.
- 7:42And it's just like, why does everyone need to tread on us to move up or to be accepted?
- 7:51And then the same thing happened to them.
- 7:55Soon as y'all did the dirty work. Now look where y'all at.
- 7:59Now y'all want to come back to the black people, like help us out. We in trouble.
- 8:04Knock it off, y'all. It's so funny to me that when people think of civil rights,
- 8:08they think, oh, that's just for black people. Right. What?
- 8:13This benefits everyone everyone all
- 8:18of those who are marginalized and i think that
- 8:21it's it's so funny that because you see what
- 8:23what the uh the term karen came about years ago y'all
- 8:27are some of the biggest users of right
- 8:31what was you know civil rights sure like your
- 8:34man don't treat you know they they didn't want you to vote for sure
- 8:36you just stay pregnant stay in the house they had
- 8:39no respect for you either didn't even want them in the
- 8:42workplace so instead of you taking
- 8:46it out on them at home and fighting for your decency and respectability in your
- 8:52home you went out and took your nonsense you took your nonsense out on the black
- 8:57community correct brown community correct what a poor community as a whole as
- 9:01a whole there you go right there as a whole and it's,
- 9:05Again, it's just interesting.
- 9:09When I when I I'm sorry, y'all, I'm calling names.
- 9:13But when I think of the Marco Rubio's, when I think of the Ted Cruz's, these guys are Latin X.
- 9:22How can you watch everything that ICE does?
- 9:27Everything that the GOP says and does about your people and your cool with it.
- 9:36I mean, let's just be real. We were having a conversation the other day.
- 9:39We were talking about how even some black Africans come over here and they look
- 9:45down on black Americans and consider themselves other or different in order to assimilate,
- 9:56ascend, move up the social ladder.
- 9:59And again, when we say path to whiteness, it's a generalization.
- 10:04But what it really is, is that social status, that economic status,
- 10:11that we're really saying that's what the path to whiteness is.
- 10:16You know, the way to better your position is to be with them folks, as they say.
- 10:27So to go back to the affirmative action the
- 10:31poster child was michael wang he was that kid who
- 10:34applied to all those ivy league schools and was rejected
- 10:37he has since
- 10:40filed i think several lawsuits that one one went all the way to the supreme
- 10:45court right right well he was the one that fought and of course he came out
- 10:50later and say he never meant for it to be abolished right But the fact that
- 10:53he said that he was being excluded from the Ivy Leagues because black people
- 10:57were getting consideration,
- 10:59then affirmative action was overturned due to his cause.
- 11:03And then he didn't get accepted to those same schools that he thought was going
- 11:09to accept him. So you assimilated.
- 11:11You blamed black people. Yep.
- 11:15You're not blaming all those rich kids, black and white. The legacy admissions.
- 11:20The legacy admissions. There you go.
- 11:22You're not blaming them, which is who you should be blaming. Exactly.
- 11:26You're blaming the people who are fighting to get in. Right.
- 11:30As you and I discussed previously with Joy Reid.
- 11:33And Joy Reid said that without affirmative action, they would have never had
- 11:37eyes on her. Correct. At Harvard.
- 11:40She said they would have never come to her town. Correct. They would have just picked who they picked.
- 11:45But due to affirmative action, they were forced to. They were forced to look.
- 11:50And they saw her and realized, well, I mean, obviously, you know,
- 11:53four point whatever GPA she had, high SAT scores. So she was qualified. Correct.
- 11:59But affirmative action enabled her to have the resources to apply for her. Correct.
- 12:06And without it, she wouldn't have been able to apply.
- 12:09Right. And and this is why the DEI argument, the affirmative action is reverse racism.
- 12:17The reason why that whole talking point falls flat is because of everything
- 12:21you just said, because without affirmative action, without DEI initiatives,
- 12:28people of color wouldn't even get a chance to.
- 12:33Without it, you leave everything up to the good old boy network.
- 12:38That's it. And of course, the Nepo babies, the legacy babies,
- 12:42they're going to fill every position. Yep.
- 12:46And if by chance you just happen to get in, you're going to be one in a million.
- 12:54So no, it's not reverse racism.
- 12:58DEI is not a bad thing.
- 13:01It actually evens a playing field
- 13:04or kind of I mean because it's still not
- 13:07level but it evens a playing field that we wouldn't be allowed to step on to
- 13:13begin with yeah so instead of just acknowledging that it's the the playing field
- 13:18is uneven it's oh this dude got here because of DEI. Yes and no.
- 13:27DEI may have opened the door for him to walk in, but he earned it.
- 13:31Without DEI, the door would have stayed locked.
- 13:34He would have sat on the other side, having the credentials to get in,
- 13:38but not allowed to get in.
- 13:43You're right. Listen, at our age, one thing I will not do is argue with fools. No, sir.
- 13:51Not about this topic. No. So you can get on social media.
- 13:56You can say whatever you want on TV about how DEI is wrong and it should have been abolished.
- 14:03You know what I do? I change the channel. Yes, sir.
- 14:05Because I'm not about to argue with you about something that you know nothing about.
- 14:09Clarence Thomas, the only reason you are a judge, you clown,
- 14:15is because of affirmative action.
- 14:18You are against the very device, the very tool that allowed you to be placed in your position.
- 14:27And here you are voting against it.
- 14:30Talk about pulling the ladder up or closing the door behind you.
- 14:35I almost caught him an N-word.
- 14:37And what's crazy is that there was a book written, and I forget who did it,
- 14:43but on The Right Time podcast with Beaumont, he had like a four-part series
- 14:49where they talked about Clarence Thomas.
- 14:51And there was some investigative, I think it was Slow Burn, something on Slate that did it.
- 14:55And Clarence Thomas is nothing like how he portrays himself to be.
- 15:01They talk about how- They called him Clarence X back in the day. Yeah.
- 15:06How he was militant, how he was gung-ho about making sure that people understood
- 15:11that he was going to knock that door down.
- 15:15But then he got in there and completely flipped the script.
- 15:20Money talks. Money talks, bro. You drink the Kool-Aid, as they say.
- 15:25Drink the Kool-Aid. Money talks. You get comfortable. And then on top of that,
- 15:31you start feeling like you're quote unquote special.
- 15:35The only one. Look at me. I'm the big dog. No, you were chosen, bro.
- 15:41You ain't special. You were chosen. And in order to keep your position,
- 15:46you got to do any and everything that they tell your black ass to do or you'd be a part of there.
- 15:54And if you don't believe me, ask Tiger.
- 15:57That's a whole different conversation.
- 16:02So. Oh, Tiger. Oh, Tiger. So.
- 16:05So there this is also something I'm again, I'm making a generalization.
- 16:10This is just a question, though.
- 16:12It's not it's not an accusation. It's not an indictment.
- 16:16But are you aware that the Tungans Pacific North Islanders had like a chapter
- 16:26of the Black Panther movement in New Zealand back in the day?
- 16:31I believe they want to present. Have you ever seen what the aboriginals look
- 16:36like in New Zealand and Australia? no that's my that's my point though so it's like.
- 16:43Back then in the 70s, the 60s, 70s, whatever, you recognized that there was a racial disparity.
- 16:51You recognized that you were being treated as second class citizens.
- 16:54I'm just curious if they were to come to America, would they consider themselves black?
- 17:02Would you would you would you still be my black brothers or would you be on that not black?
- 17:10So I can only speak as a lifelong wrestling fan watching the Anawaii family.
- 17:18Yes. The answer to your question is yes. Which way?
- 17:23Oh, okay. I got you. Because there are, especially the ones that are wrestling
- 17:27now and coming from that family, the overwhelming majority of the ones that are front facing,
- 17:33yeah, they are deeply ingrained, especially the ones from the Bay Area.
- 17:38They're deeply ingrained in black culture and kind of like the Booyah tribe yeah.
- 17:44Yeah okay all right i mean that the the
- 17:47reason why i brought it up is because i watch predator badlands
- 17:51and the guy that's playing the predator is
- 17:55a pacific north islander tungan background
- 17:58and what's the movie good it's decent yeah okay yeah it's decent i liked it
- 18:03and and when i look at him i go man that's a brother yeah but i'm just like
- 18:09would he go i'm not black sort of like how And Tito Trinidad used to piss me off.
- 18:16A boy always used to say he ain't black. And it's just like,
- 18:19cuz, have you looked in the mirror? Yeah, you are, bro.
- 18:23I'm not black. I'm not black. You are black, bro. And they're going to treat you like you're black.
- 18:29And piggyback off what you just said. It was called the Polynesian Panther Party.
- 18:34Okay, okay, okay, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like I said, they definitely had a chapter.
- 18:38But it's funny. I wanted to touch on something that you mentioned earlier.
- 18:41You brought up the census.
- 18:43Do you know on the census when you come to this country, if you're from North
- 18:50Africa, you are considered white?
- 18:54That's on the census form. You can be as dark as me. And look, I'm pretty dark, y'all.
- 19:00You can be as dark as me. And if you're from North Africa, you can take that white box.
- 19:06It's a it's a it's a famous lecturer.
- 19:09Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry for forgetting his name, y'all. but he had to fight.
- 19:16For his blackness when he came here. That sounds familiar.
- 19:20He basically, like, because of the census and because of, I think he was a black
- 19:25Egyptian, they were like, no, you're white. And he was like, I'm not white.
- 19:30And his lecture goes into how his colleagues would go, what are you doing?
- 19:36Just accept the whiteness and you'll, you know, get this benefit,
- 19:41that benefit, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
- 19:43Leave this fight alone. And he was like, you cannot tell me to leave this fight alone.
- 19:49You want me to live a lie. He was like, I cannot do that. As a black man, I cannot.
- 19:56And I'm just like, that's so interesting. You know, and I forgive me,
- 20:02I will put his name in the notes so everyone can look up his lectures.
- 20:06I can't call his name right now, but I will look that up.
- 20:12Going off what you said about the census, it's supposed to change,
- 20:16apparently, to allow to be, instead of just being considered white,
- 20:21it's supposed to be either white, Middle Eastern, or North African.
- 20:26I'm using air quotes. Yes. Supposed to. Yes. And I think that if this is the
- 20:32one you took, Mustafa Hefni.
- 20:34You got a picture of him? Brother with a fro glasses? Yes. Yeah.
- 20:39Yes. He's Egyptian. Yes. very interesting lecture on this whole topic that we're discussing today.
- 20:46Yeah, I think, yeah, this is what you're talking about for sure.
- 20:48Yes, thank you for that. Yep.
- 20:51Very interesting. So that's our main topic for today, our pathway to whiteness
- 20:58or, you know, why do others feel like they have to put the Black community down in order to ascend?
- 21:06We can probably follow up on this, but we're going to leave it there for now.
- 21:09Can I add one more thing? Yeah, sure. So this is something near and dear to my heart.
- 21:14If you fall in love with someone.
- 21:18Oh, man. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she's white.
- 21:23He's white or whatever color. I mean, whatever nationality, you know, whatever.
- 21:29Love that person because you fell in love with them.
- 21:32Marry them because you fell in love with them. Have children with them because
- 21:35you two decided to have children together.
- 21:39Yes. It doesn't matter what side of the tracks you come from.
- 21:43If you love them, you love them. Correct.
- 21:45Please stop, as a brother, stop dating white women and then saying the reason
- 21:52you date white women is because black women do X, Y, and Z. Mm-hmm.
- 21:57That is the quickest way to get punched in the mouth. Like it is. It drives me nuts.
- 22:04And the same thing with with with black women. Correct. Well,
- 22:07I date a white man because a black man did this. No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 22:11The idiot that you picked. Correct. Did you dirty. Correct.
- 22:16Correct. It's an individual thing. Right. Correct. All black men did.
- 22:19Now, if that white man came into your life or a white woman came into your life and you fall in love.
- 22:25Cool. I'll be at your wedding. not seen, I'll be there. I'll raise a toast for you. I love it.
- 22:30But the second that you start, because if I'm your partner and I start hearing
- 22:35you say, well, the reason I date this person or that person is because.
- 22:41A black woman did this or a black man did that. As your partner,
- 22:44I'm sitting back going, oh, so I'm a revenge?
- 22:47Like, so you don't really love me. So you only came after me because you didn't
- 22:51want to date someone in your race.
- 22:54So did you fall in love with me or did you seek me out because I was white?
- 22:58Almost like a self-hate thing.
- 23:00No, no, not almost. It is a self-hate thing.
- 23:03Okay, I feel you. Because see, I'm not one to say that just because you date
- 23:05somebody of a different nationality or race that you hate your people.
- 23:09Yeah. But when you actively put us down, why you're not dating a black person. Yeah.
- 23:16First off, I want to hit it. Yeah. You don't you don't have to put us down to
- 23:20justify your choice. No, I feel you. You got to prove nothing to me. Yeah.
- 23:24Yeah. Yeah. Just stand up on it. This is who I love. That's that.
- 23:28And I feel you. I feel that. Yeah.
- 23:30And you're right. It does happen on both sides. Men do it and women do it.
- 23:35Oh, yeah. And you are correct.
- 23:36It 100% needs to stop.
- 23:39100 percent. And I think it happens probably more frequently than we want to
- 23:45admit or even recognize, you know, and and yeah, I've heard it. You've heard it.
- 23:53Yeah. Recently. Yeah. Black man ain't this or sisters don't do this.
- 23:59Sisters don't do that. No, no, I feel you. I feel you.
- 24:01That's a good point, bro. I'm glad I'm glad you brought that up.
- 24:04Anything else you want to add? Nope.
- 24:06All right, cool. Let's let's move into some current events. You want me to start
- 24:11or you want to start? All right. So.
- 24:14Just this week, I know most of us are aware of the email or the emails that's
- 24:23been dropped in regards to Epstein, Trump, et cetera, et cetera.
- 24:29And the email that most people are familiar with are the emails between Epstein
- 24:36and Maxwell saying, I can do this to Trump, et cetera, et cetera.
- 24:42Well, there is another email that's making the rounds that mass media,
- 24:50mainstream media, they're not talking about.
- 24:53And it's an email between Jeffrey Epstein and his brother, Mark.
- 25:00And this email is basically saying, does Putin have the tape on Trump blowing Bubba?
- 25:09I'm not going to speculate about who Bubba is. That's irrelevant.
- 25:16What I want to focus on is this.
- 25:21The pee tape that they kept saying never existed.
- 25:26It probably exists. Whether it's this tape about Bubba or the pee tape or whatever
- 25:34the case may be The moral of the story is Trump is compromised Putin has something,
- 25:44whatever it may be He has something on Trump And his actions and his behavior
- 25:52towards Putin and Russia proves it Blaming Ukraine for starting a war that everyone
- 26:00knows they didn't start.
- 26:02Trying to get Putin and Russia accepted into the G7. You are compromised, fella.
- 26:11And I don't like to be a conspiracy theorist. It may not just be Trump.
- 26:19I like to think when they hacked the DNC, they also hacked Republicans.
- 26:26And that's why their whole positions and attitudes have also changed towards Russia.
- 26:33Think about how Reagan them felt about Russia.
- 26:36George Bush, Sr., George Bush, Jr.
- 26:40They would never go to bat for Russia on anything.
- 26:46And all of these clowns now, they want to turn a blind eye to all of the just
- 26:53vile things that Russia does. And why?
- 26:58Because the pedo in chief says so. And yeah, I said that.
- 27:05So mine is not something that most people would know. Well, no one would know
- 27:10about unless you work with me.
- 27:12So I work a job that will remain nameless that we hire contractors under me currently.
- 27:22I believe there are 36 contractors.
- 27:25A lot of these contractors are immigrants.
- 27:29They are here working legally because the company that I work for does not hire
- 27:35anyone that does not have any any type of legal documentation.
- 27:39So due to some new changes in the law,
- 27:44the IRS came after a handful of people asking them to submit verification on
- 27:53certain documents, which they have.
- 27:55So it's not a big deal. They have the documents.
- 27:58But when I tell you that several of these these folks.
- 28:04Constantly emailing me, texting me, worried to death that they're going to lose their job.
- 28:11So many of these cats are our age, 10 years younger. They've been here most of their lives.
- 28:17They've gone to every immigration hearing. They've done everything that they're supposed to do.
- 28:22But they spend all of their time worried that somebody is going to show up and
- 28:29relieve them of their soon-to-be citizenship.
- 28:34Because also a lot of these people that work under me are trying to become U.S.
- 28:40Citizens, doing things the right way as you keep hearing people say,
- 28:44well, if you come here, you should do it the right way.
- 28:46I have a slew of people under me that are doing it the right way.
- 28:52And again, I don't want to get too deep with it because, you know,
- 28:56bringing my job and everything and the quite, you know.
- 28:59Sure, sure. But I could even tell how uncomfortable the people that we work
- 29:03with, like in the office, sending this information out and having these conversations
- 29:09on conference calls where it's just like, hey, we got to get this done.
- 29:13And then you go read over the IRS regulations and you think to yourself,
- 29:17how the hell is this legal?
- 29:21You have their documentation. Mm hmm. They've shown you we have a system where
- 29:27we input people in that we use every night.
- 29:30It has their documentation that shows that they are authorized to work in this country.
- 29:38But yet the IRS came after him anyway when this dipshit came in office to ask for more.
- 29:46What more documentation do you expect them to pull out of their ass?
- 29:51Let me let me ask you a quick question on that. Common sense question.
- 29:55If the IRS is coming after them, what does this mean?
- 30:00They're paying taxes well here's the
- 30:02thing they're contractors so they
- 30:06don't oh really yeah so they i mean
- 30:08yeah they have to pay taxes obviously but it's up to them to file their taxes
- 30:13oh no of course yeah yeah but they're still required to pay i got you i got
- 30:17where you're going yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah all right wait a minute it was it
- 30:23started off as hey if you don't turn these in by this day,
- 30:27this could happen and what it was is that we're going to start taxing your checks okay,
- 30:34some of those people depend on that money to send back home yeah then it went
- 30:39from that to oh yeah you need to do this so you're done so what is it do you
- 30:45want people to do the right damn thing or you just not want them here i'm going
- 30:50with the latter you just don't want them here. Is this state or federal?
- 30:54It's federal. Federal. You know why?
- 30:58Well, I'm not going to say is this the sole reason, but you know, only two states.
- 31:05It's turned in like voter rolls and all of that kind of stuff.
- 31:09Oh, up from, yeah. Indiana and Wyoming.
- 31:14So I'm not saying that's like a direct causation, but could be.
- 31:20And yes, you're right. They are weaponizing the IRS, which is violent itself.
- 31:27And as a man that has raised a family and has been a father since I was 21 years
- 31:32old, struggled comfortable.
- 31:35I've done it all. I've been comfortable. I've struggled. For sure. I've had issues.
- 31:40I've overcome a lot of issues.
- 31:42To see people literally going to work every night just to do their job bust
- 31:49their ass and take care of their family you're trying to take it away from them for why?
- 31:52For what? Because you think that somebody's stealing your damn job.
- 31:56I've tried to hire y'all that keep talking about that.
- 32:00None of y'all Y'all show up for what? That part right there.
- 32:02When I set an interview, y'all asses don't show up. That part.
- 32:07Doing jobs that no one wants to do. Right.
- 32:13Y'all don't show up. Yeah. They do. And the fact that they are legally,
- 32:19they have done everything that the United States has asked them to do,
- 32:24to be here and to work legally.
- 32:27And then they still have to give you more documentation. They wouldn't even
- 32:31be in the goddamn country. Right.
- 32:34If they didn't have this documentation already. We wouldn't hire them.
- 32:38Right. Because the company I work for, they're not going to stick their neck
- 32:41out and mess up their crib.
- 32:43There you go there you go there you
- 32:45go you would you would literally be jeopardizing your
- 32:49business or doing something illegal which
- 32:52and then which trust me they are not going yeah yeah anybody yeah yeah you're
- 32:57going to open yourself up to be audited etc etc yeah it's it's it's crazy bro
- 33:03it's crazy i i'm with you i understand i understand completely when i get them phone calls,
- 33:11man, or them text messages, I get angry.
- 33:13Because I'm like, yo, I don't know what to tell you.
- 33:17Let me make a call. Let me send an email. Make sure that all the necessary,
- 33:21make sure they got everything so you can stop worrying.
- 33:25And then when I go visit, when I do my rounds at night, pull up,
- 33:29they talking to me, they worry. Sure.
- 33:33After I done already told you, no, you're good. Right. They're still worried.
- 33:37Right. Who the hell wants to live like that? Right.
- 33:40But you You got people out there, sorry, y'all, you got people out there still
- 33:44arguing this, and you don't even want the damn job that I have to offer.
- 33:48Right, right. But you don't want him or her to have it.
- 33:52It's because of the lie. I'd rather have those, the people that work for me
- 33:57now, than any of these damn hypocrites working for me. It's because of the lie.
- 34:01They're sending their rapists, their drug dealers, their killers.
- 34:06It's because of the lie. That's all it is.
- 34:09None of this was an issue prior to this clown running for office.
- 34:15None of this was never an issue.
- 34:18No. Not to this level. Not that part. That part. Not to this extent. Yes.
- 34:24Illegal immigrant, of course.
- 34:28But all of this targeting them, that's all a recent thing. How the hell do you go to court?
- 34:37Hey, it's been six months. We need to see you in court on this day.
- 34:41All right, I'll be there. And you got ICE waiting on me.
- 34:45I just did everything you asked me to do. Right.
- 34:47Now, if I pull up to the courthouse, see y'all, and then I break out running,
- 34:52hey, I expect you to chase them down. Like, hey, what you running for?
- 34:57But at the same time, who can blame them? Well, yeah, I'm out too.
- 35:00Yeah, who can blame them at that point? Because I'm sitting there telling you
- 35:03right now, I'm out too. Yeah. Try to pull me over. Yeah. Ghost. Yeah. Done.
- 35:08You go setting up shop. You should just comply. Yeah.
- 35:14You setting up shop in Home Depot parking lots and stuff to get contractors and whatnot.
- 35:20You know what you're doing. You know exactly what you're doing.
- 35:22Because it's known that that's where a lot of contractors will hang out to look for work.
- 35:29But you're supposed to be going after the worst of the worst. Nah. The criminals.
- 35:34That takes too much effort and investigation. to
- 35:37do correct because because the whole
- 35:40thing was a lie from the very jump
- 35:44the get-go it was all just a lie that shit got me hot no good good bro honestly
- 35:51everyone should be hot and this doesn't even affect us in that way but no everyone
- 35:57should be hot it where's the humanity right,
- 36:01It is. Forget illegal immigration, American, Guatemalan, Venezuelan.
- 36:10Forget all of that.
- 36:13Where is the humanity?
- 36:16That's the part where it's like, don't tell me what a good Christian you are.
- 36:20You can say it with your mouth all you want, but your actions are telling me
- 36:25that you don't give a damn about your fellow man.
- 36:29And some of these folks will be the first ones on the plan going to Cancun going
- 36:34to their local Mexican restaurant in their community.
- 36:38Alright it's cool bro what about a rock bro we gonna leave that there my man
- 36:46blood pressure getting up,
- 36:48look and I don't even suffer from high blood pressure knock on wood I've never
- 36:52had that oh man I love it bro I love it we should be passionate about these
- 36:58things What about a rart, bro? You got a rart?
- 37:01Yeah, but it's not lighthearted. So what? I'm going to keep it.
- 37:06So we talked about it briefly before we started.
- 37:09And I was going to make it lighthearted because we laughed about it yesterday.
- 37:13That dude driving that Mercedes. He pissed me off.
- 37:17So in. I mean, he pissed you off, bro.
- 37:22It's like, dog, not everybody is retired just cruising, doing 30 in a 45.
- 37:29Dude was doing 30 in a 45. Right, right, right, right.
- 37:33But I wanted to bring up road rage.
- 37:36Yes. So pretty much for the last, what, 10, 11 years of my life,
- 37:42I've spent a lot of time in my car or trucks, just driving trucks, whatever.
- 37:48As your job, not living in your... Yeah, no, not living in your car.
- 37:52Not that there's anything wrong with it. No, no, no. But...
- 37:57Have to maintain some level of decorum when you're out on the road.
- 38:02Somebody wants to get in, let them over.
- 38:04That jerk that speeds into the end, I don't know if any of you that live in Indiana understand.
- 38:10Is it called the merge zip merging so that
- 38:13car that's in the right lane and the sign said
- 38:16lane ends in two miles they're supposed to
- 38:19stay in that right lane and merge when they
- 38:22can they don't they don't have to to worry about what you what you're doing
- 38:27in your car but the reason i bring it up is that in nevada a couple of days
- 38:31ago there were two people there was a 22 year old in one car and there was a
- 38:36man in the other car with his 11-year-old stepson in the back.
- 38:41He started jockeying for position with the guy on the road.
- 38:46Now, keep in mind, the article said that the road was congested.
- 38:49Nobody could go anywhere.
- 38:51And these two are fighting to get in front of one another.
- 38:54Well, the 22-year-old got tired of the guy in the other car,
- 38:58pulled out his gun, shot towards his car.
- 39:00Now, I can only assume that, not that this matters, he was trying not to hurt
- 39:06anybody because he shot towards the backseat, not realizing that there was an
- 39:1111-year-old on his way to school in the backseat.
- 39:14So he has since been charged with, I think it was like seven or eight felonies, something like that.
- 39:2022 years old, whole life is ruined. Ruined.
- 39:24Because you wanted to get one car ahead and then sit in traffic.
- 39:29Right. Right. So I bring that up to say, mind your damn business,
- 39:34drive your damn car and quit worrying about what somebody else is doing.
- 39:39And look, I know somebody that I know might hear this and go,
- 39:42that's rich coming from your ass.
- 39:44I'm not like that no more because I have seen, especially in Indianapolis.
- 39:49How often we see stuff in the news on 465. Road rage.
- 39:53And I drive through that side of town four or five times a day.
- 39:56I've learned to get in the lane set the cruise control and roll mind your damn business,
- 40:05taken. Very, very, very good. I am going to go lighthearted on this and I want
- 40:13to talk about nostalgia.
- 40:17As we move into the holiday season, and let me just stay for the record,
- 40:23I do not celebrate holidays, any of them.
- 40:27That's a different conversation for a different time. But as we move into the
- 40:32holiday season, a lot of people get nostalgic.
- 40:37On the flip side of that, a lot of people also get depressed.
- 40:40It's also like one of the biggest depression seasons because of loneliness and
- 40:45et cetera, et cetera. But I don't I don't want to talk about that.
- 40:49But as we as we get into this holiday season and and, you know,
- 40:53you start having those nostalgic feelings.
- 40:55I think about my teenage years and you and I both started working as soon as we turned 16.
- 41:07This may not quite right across the street. Yeah, for sure.
- 41:12This may not count as nostalgia, but it's a memory. It's it's something that
- 41:18I miss when I would come home from work on a Saturday afternoon shower.
- 41:26I grabbed me something to eat and I would watch Xena the Warrior Princess and
- 41:33the Legend of Hercules with Kevin Sorbo before he became crazy. A MAGA idiot.
- 41:41But that was just like my Saturday afternoon until the fellas came,
- 41:46you know, once it got dark and the fellas coming, like, let's go get into something.
- 41:50But I miss those days, man. I miss those days where life was simple.
- 41:55Go to work. I come home and I just find me a good show about absolutely nothing
- 42:01and spend those two hours just sitting there watching Xena and Hercules.
- 42:08Was they came on back to back on a Saturday afternoon. I miss those days, man.
- 42:14So there's a page, and I might be messing it up, something that's about nostalgia
- 42:19on Instagram. And I just stumbled across it one day.
- 42:22Bro, you know, I was laying in the bed one night, like 11 o'clock at night,
- 42:25and it was just showing different things from the 90s, which we think is the greatest decade ever.
- 42:32Absolutely. And it is. Bro.
- 42:36You know, I'm sitting there watching some of this stuff. like wiping like
- 42:40eyes getting watery i'm like man the good
- 42:43old days yeah like thinking about especially all
- 42:46the nonsense we got into yeah i mean it was it was it was it was just so simple
- 42:52and i mean because you know the parties that the the basement parties were always
- 42:56on friday night which we had a crap ton of right so saturday night was always
- 43:02like you needed to find something to get into.
- 43:05So like I said, until the homies came in, though, once it got dark,
- 43:10the homies come pick you up and you're like, OK, let's go find something to
- 43:12get into. But for those couple hours,
- 43:15was just cool to just sit there and chill and think about nothing and just a
- 43:20lot of care in the world not a care in the world and everything is all right
- 43:23yep the 90s the good old days um but anyway y'all that's my right i don't want
- 43:30to look you don't make me tear up.
- 43:34I definitely don't want to do that especially on this podcast so we're going
- 43:40to go into five on the black hand side.
- 43:43And we're going to talk about a love story today.
- 43:48Mm-hmm. We're going to talk about love and basketball.
- 43:53Mm-hmm. Take it away, my brother. All right, so love and basketball,
- 43:58which I have seen probably, no joke, 30 plus times,
- 44:03came out in 2000, follows the lives of Monica Wright and Quincy McCall,
- 44:08two kids who grew up next door to each other, in LA, and share one major passion, and that's basketball.
- 44:14From childhood to adulthood, their friendship devolved into love as they chase
- 44:19their dreams of playing professionally.
- 44:21Monica is fiercely competitive and dreams of joining the WNBA while Quincy is
- 44:25a natural talent expected to follow in his NBA father's footsteps.
- 44:30As they grow older, their careers began pulling them apart, bringing tension,
- 44:34heartbreak, and hard choices.
- 44:36At its core, loving basketball is a story about two people learning what they
- 44:39mean to each other while fighting to become who they want to be on and off the court.
- 44:45And the director is Gina Prince. There it is.
- 44:52Yes, there it is. It's funny because you said you couldn't remember.
- 44:56As soon as I saw her name, I was like, oh yeah, her face immediately popped into my head.
- 45:01So this movie for me, the first time I saw it, how cool.
- 45:07Until my ex-wife watched it. My ex-wife, your former neighbor.
- 45:14Yes. Who watched it consistently.
- 45:16Like, she loved it. Mm-hmm. Probably still does. Mm-hmm. Haven't talked to her about it.
- 45:21But I enjoyed the movie overall. I still think it is a good movie,
- 45:26contrary to what I said before we started.
- 45:28I do think it was a good movie. However, you and I both think that they should
- 45:34have chose someone else other than Omar Epps.
- 45:37Correct. for this role.
- 45:41I don't want to jump ahead, so I'm going to let you... No, because you summed it up perfectly, and...
- 45:50The only issue I have with the movie. Right. I think Sanai was great.
- 45:55I think their their chemistry between the two of them was actually great.
- 46:00I love how he wanted to be like his pops. His pops was his hero all while he was growing up.
- 46:09And then as he got older, he realized that pops was kind of on some bullshit
- 46:13and pops mistreated his mom.
- 46:15Um, so I dug all of those stories and those dynamics and even her with,
- 46:21um, her mom being a traditional housewife.
- 46:26And she was like, that's not the path for me, even though her mom like find
- 46:29you a nice man, get you a career, get married, have some kids.
- 46:34And she's like, no, that's not the path for me. So I dug all of those like conflicts
- 46:41they had with their parents and choosing the traditional paths.
- 46:45The only issue I had with the movie, not that Omar Epps is a bad actor.
- 46:52No, no, it's a good actor.
- 46:54I just couldn't believe that he's this phenom.
- 46:59And I've always thought this movie would have been better if that was Kobe playing that role.
- 47:05Or at least an NBA player where it can his basketball scenes just didn't look
- 47:12believable to me where Sanaa trained with just every part of the movie she was
- 47:20in with as far as training goes it looked believable,
- 47:23and she did train with real professional athletes for the role I don't know
- 47:29if he did or didn't but I just couldn't buy him.
- 47:35As the ultra-talented high school player that's making the league straight.
- 47:40Or did he play one-year college ball or he went straight there? I think so.
- 47:44Yeah, that's right. One year, one year, one year at USC. That's right.
- 47:47That's right. That's right. And then went to the league.
- 47:50Yeah, that was my only gripe is I just didn't like him in that role.
- 47:55So I'm going to expand on him particularly.
- 47:59So both of you are dynamic athletes fighting for the same goal,
- 48:06and that's to become professionals.
- 48:07Well, remember, there was no WNBA when she finished school. Right.
- 48:12Just trying to get there.
- 48:15He acted like he had no idea what it
- 48:18took right to become what they were both starting to become so they get to college
- 48:27all of a sudden first off he broke up with her because she wouldn't break curfew
- 48:32right you wouldn't break curfew
- 48:33either right because you understand the consequences of breaking curfew.
- 48:39He expected her to be emotionally available.
- 48:43Right. All of the time. Right. Support me. Support me. Support me. Yeah.
- 48:49Another issue I have, and you and I have had this conversation in the past.
- 48:53Can we just have a normal black family? I feel you.
- 48:57Why did daddy got to be? Yeah, I understand he was in the NBA.
- 49:00I get that. Right, right. Why he got to be out there wilding and cheating on
- 49:03his wife? Right, right. Right.
- 49:06No, I feel you. Why is your relationship with him troubled? Right.
- 49:11No, I feel you. Dude, I'm 50.
- 49:13I have never had an argument with my father.
- 49:17My father has never heard what
- 49:19my voice sounds like above the decibels I'm speaking right now. Right.
- 49:23My mother's only heard that once. And that was something that happened down
- 49:28here when my nephew graduated.
- 49:30Yeah. I had to step in and raise my voice on something. Yeah. For her.
- 49:36Every movie we turn on is some type of chaos, some type of conflict.
- 49:41No, I feel that. Like you and I always talk about Tariq.
- 49:44Oh, my God.
- 49:46And the dynamic relationship he had with Ghost Natasha.
- 49:51Hey, man, if you don't shut your ass up. You spoiled rich brat that got everything handed to you.
- 50:00It doesn't always have to be conflict. Yeah. The only time you see families,
- 50:06black or white, for that matter, where something crazy isn't happening is when it's a comedy.
- 50:14But any movie that has any serious parts in it, it always seems like the kid
- 50:20is always jacked up in some sort of way.
- 50:23I'll give you an example. And this is a completely different movie. Traffic.
- 50:31Michael Douglas is the drug czar. And your daughter is sleeping around in the hood.
- 50:37Smoking. Smoking and shooting up heroin. Right.
- 50:40We had to go that extreme? Right. Right.
- 50:44No, I feel you. I feel you. He in the hood knocking on doors.
- 50:48Right. Guns pulled on him. Right. Dude, you the drug czar. Right. Make a phone call.
- 50:52That part. Knock this whole damn building down. That part. I'm going to get my baby girl.
- 50:57Right there. Not to say for those listening, we understand that there are beefs
- 51:06within family. Absolutely.
- 51:08We understand that. What we're
- 51:11saying is, do we need it to be promoted or perpetuated in every movie?
- 51:19It's yeah, Tyler Perry. Man, you took the words right out of my mouth,
- 51:23bro. I was just about to say how Tyler Perry just perpetuates the evil black man myth.
- 51:29And it's just like, bro, would you knock it off, please?
- 51:33Like, find something else to write about. It's always the brother is doing some
- 51:39woman just terribly wrong to the point where it's unbelievable.
- 51:44Like terribly wrong. Yeah. Gosh,
- 51:47we didn't got so far off of love and basketball. But I got to say this.
- 51:51Richard T. Jones. making Jill Scott drive across the country in a snowstorm
- 52:00while he's on the plane with his mistress and all of their friends.
- 52:06I'm like, man, knock it off. Nobody would do that dumb shit.
- 52:10So the woman or the man wouldn't stand for it. So our circle, there's five of us.
- 52:19My ex-wife was your neighbor. Like literally grew up right across the street. 60 feet away. Correct.
- 52:27Is my ex-wife now if i did that to
- 52:30her now i would be terrified that you
- 52:33what are you doing the child gonna be like hey dog
- 52:36what you doing yeah we about to fight yeah you out you out of pocket you out
- 52:40of pocket you're not about to do this to her yeah hell i'll pay for her damn
- 52:44ticket if that's the case but understand that when we get to where we're going
- 52:47you and i fight i would expect that none of these rich black folks right it's crazy said a word crazy.
- 52:57So to to get back to to get back to our movie loving basketball so quincy,
- 53:06against his father wishes decides to enter the nba draft tears up his knee basically
- 53:15has a career-ending injury done career's over ends up right back at his parents house,
- 53:24monica did she go play overseas honestly i can't remember like i i think i think
- 53:30she i think she tried to play overseas but then she ended up coming home and
- 53:34getting the office job and she was terribly unhappy and she's trying to get
- 53:41with him because he's dating tyra banks,
- 53:44and she's trying to get with him he don't want to hear it
- 53:47so the culminating scene is
- 53:50they play a one-on-one i'll play you for it i'll play you for your heart yes
- 53:58it's corny yes it's cheesy but i get it i like it spoiler alert no i'm not even gonna spoil it,
- 54:10You ain't seen it by now. You deserve it. It deserves. You deserve to get spoiled.
- 54:13I can't believe I just said it. I can't even get the words out right.
- 54:16What the hell am I trying to say?
- 54:19Basically, you're telling me to spoil it.
- 54:24So they end up playing the one on one. And she loses.
- 54:31So the relationship is supposed to be over at that point.
- 54:36End of the movie. There is no happy ending.
- 54:40But it doesn't end there. Nope.
- 54:44They do end up getting together and she becomes the star professional athlete for the Sparks.
- 54:53And he's sitting in the crowd being the cheerleader supporting her.
- 54:59So that's sort of the twist in the whole thing is that he was supposed to be
- 55:04the star player, the professional athlete, and it ends up being her.
- 55:10When it's all said and done, but they do end up getting together and they have their happy ending.
- 55:16So so that's love and basketball. Yes, we just had a daughter and they and they
- 55:21had the kid. That is correct.
- 55:22So we just spoiled the ending. But again, like I said, this is an old movie. Yeah.
- 55:28Twenty five years old to be exact. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean,
- 55:30you can still watch it and enjoy it.
- 55:32And I mean, like a quick Google search, you would have known how it ended anyway.
- 55:37So, so, so, so there's, there, there's that you want to get is how many,
- 55:42how many high fives on the black hand side?
- 55:45What's the maximum? We have five. Pick one. We go three.
- 55:50You don't go three? Yeah, that's only because I had to watch it 30 times. All right.
- 55:54I'm going to give it a four. I like this movie. I said my only gripe was Omar Epps.
- 56:00I just felt like how Spike Lee put Ray Allen in.
- 56:05Gosh, why I can't think of the name of the movie. He got game. He got game. Thank you.
- 56:09How Spike Lee put Ray Allen in. He got game.
- 56:12Yes, his acting wasn't on par. but at least we knew that he could hoop.
- 56:18Yeah, all that was legit.
- 56:19Yeah, yeah. For those that don't know, Ray Allen was way more than just a three-point
- 56:23shooter. Yeah, yeah. Like a ball.
- 56:25Yeah, so I just felt like had they put an actual NBA, if not even an NBA like
- 56:31a former college, like D1 player in that role, it would have been more believable.
- 56:39So there's that loving basketball. Like I said, I enjoyed the movie.
- 56:47Thing omar epps was cast wrong and we're gonna
- 56:50leave it right there so now it's time for the
- 56:53closing monologue take it away my brother all right
- 56:57so i know i mentioned family earlier
- 57:00and admittedly i had to use some uh i used some some uh some internet what's
- 57:09the one what am i looking for had a little help not with the words but just
- 57:13putting it in order because you know this this topic is,
- 57:18it can make people emotional when you're referring to family.
- 57:22So here we go. So family is often considered the foundation of our lives.
- 57:27We've got our parents, our children, aunts, uncles, grandparents.
- 57:31They are the reason, and they are the people that shape us and give us all the
- 57:36support and love that we have.
- 57:38Staying connected to the people who truly care about us is important.
- 57:41Those bonds carry us through life We have
- 57:45also We also have to be real Being related
- 57:48to someone Does not give them a free
- 57:51pass To bring chaos or negativity into your life
- 57:54Some family members have to be loved from a distance And that includes parents
- 57:58If their presence becomes toxic Protecting your peace is still protecting your
- 58:03future And here's the beautiful thing Family isn't only about blood Sometimes
- 58:07the people who stand beside you Who show up for you who uplift you,
- 58:11become your true family.
- 58:13Friends can turn into brothers and sisters in every way that matters.
- 58:17My co-host is not my best friend, he's my brother.
- 58:21That's what genuine love and loyalty can build. In the end, family is defined
- 58:26by support, respect, and connection, no matter who it comes from.
- 58:32You my brother no problem all right
