- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:29Speaker 1: us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trey
- 0:34Speaker 1: Trenholm and Raj Sharma. We are the Treehouse. Gla'd be
- 0:43Speaker 1: with you on a Monday, October fourteenth, twenty twenty four,
- 0:48Speaker 1: and we would not be respected journalists and newsmen if
- 0:52Speaker 1: we didn't start the show with something very serious and
- 0:57Speaker 1: breaking news worthy. Trey, congratulations on your Longhorns on Saturday.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, red River rival, which is one of the hardest
- 1:10Speaker 2: phrases in the American language to say, but let's be honest,
- 1:14Speaker 2: deep in our hearts, it's still the Red River shootout.
- 1:19Speaker 1: What was the final tray? Thirty four to three?
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yes, sir?
- 1:23Speaker 1: What time is it right now? Trey? Or actually, since
- 1:26Speaker 1: we're not time specific on this show for the most part,
- 1:30Speaker 1: so what day is it today?
- 1:32Speaker 4: It's Monday morning? I know YOUU still sucks.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Congratulations to Longhorn faithful all around the world. They have
- 1:43Speaker 1: a year of bragging rights.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and retain the number one spot. Yep, it's uh.
- 1:52Speaker 4: We'll get tested this week when Georgia comes to Austin.
- 1:54Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Yeah, a little bit, but uh, it's yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 5: I I I've been on the hype train so many
- 2:05Speaker 5: times and got run over by it that uh yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 5: it's uh, I'm always a little bit a little bit scared.
- 2:11Speaker 4: But they they're a damn good team.
- 2:14Speaker 6: Yeah they look really good. Yeah, they look really good.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Speaking of uh, breaking news and things that we follow
- 2:22Speaker 1: here inside the Treehouse, uh, we do need to actually
- 2:26Speaker 1: mention actual news stuff that happened leading up to the
- 2:29Speaker 1: Red River rival in Dallas, and that is Uncle Milty,
- 2:37Speaker 1: or as he's more officially known, Hurricane Milton, that at
- 2:40Speaker 1: one point was a Category five storm in the Gulf
- 2:43Speaker 1: of Mexico, sauntered its way into the Florida coast, and
- 2:47Speaker 1: I believe it finally hit landfall late Wednesday night early
- 2:50Speaker 1: Thursday morning as a category three storm, but it still
- 2:53Speaker 1: did plenty of damage. I believe the exact act location
- 3:01Speaker 1: of where it hit landfall was near Ceesta. Key barreled
- 3:06Speaker 1: across Florida through Thursday before departing into the Atlantic Ocean
- 3:09Speaker 1: by Friday. The hurricane brought heavy rain and winds, flooding
- 3:13Speaker 1: cities and towns in its path and spurring several tornadoes
- 3:17Speaker 1: across the state. We, of course in the Treehouse no
- 3:19Speaker 1: several means seven and some of the most impressive things
- 3:27Speaker 1: I saw coming out of Milton were the tornadoes. Lots
- 3:29Speaker 1: of videos of tornadoes. One idiot, and keep in mind,
- 3:34Speaker 1: living in a tornado alley for my entire life, I
- 3:36Speaker 1: will go outside and video record or a tornado. I've
- 3:40Speaker 1: done it my entire life. But I also know when
- 3:43Speaker 1: to get inside. One lady recording really pushed that envelope
- 3:47Speaker 1: because she was showing a tornado coming towards her house
- 3:50Speaker 1: and she's outside on her back patio. As it gets closer,
- 3:54Speaker 1: she finally de hides too, maybe I should go inside.
- 3:56Speaker 1: She goes inside, and she stands right next to the
- 4:00Speaker 1: slighting glass window and stays within inches of it as
- 4:04Speaker 1: the tornado starts to hit her house. And then when
- 4:08Speaker 1: some debris hits it and shatters that window, that's when
- 4:11Speaker 1: she decides to go an extra ten feet into the
- 4:14Speaker 1: interior of her home. Florida really is one of the
- 4:20Speaker 1: stupidest states in our great nation, but it also has
- 4:24Speaker 1: some saving grace moments and inside the Hurricane Milton situation,
- 4:31Speaker 1: obviously a number of people died and lots of devastation.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Over one point seven million customers without power, you also
- 4:39Speaker 1: had twenty one hundred Florida gas stations had limited fuel.
- 4:43Speaker 1: In the aftermath, several communities and organizations across the Florida
- 4:47Speaker 1: had accelerated and amplified their efforts to assist those hardest
- 4:51Speaker 1: hit by the storm. Some other interesting tidbits that came
- 4:55Speaker 1: out of that storm was one of my favorite scenes,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and that was a man in Tampa who strapped his
- 5:01Speaker 1: entire house down hoping to keep his roof from flying off.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And when I say strapped, I mean like tie down straps,
- 5:09Speaker 1: like the ratchet straps that you get at home depot.
- 5:12Speaker 1: That's what he used across his house. It looked what
- 5:14Speaker 1: was it, Trey, I think there was like one too,
- 5:17Speaker 1: like five or six across the house. He had him
- 5:21Speaker 1: somehow fixed into his front yard on one end, strapped
- 5:26Speaker 1: over the house like it's a mattress on thirty five
- 5:30Speaker 1: that you're trying to keep from flying off, and I
- 5:33Speaker 1: guess buckled into the dirt in the backyard behind his house.
- 5:36Speaker 5: No, No, that's so when I first saw the story
- 5:39Speaker 5: and saw the picture, I immediately am going, Okay, that's
- 5:43Speaker 5: just a redneck in Florida. But no, he had poured
- 5:47Speaker 5: basically concrete piers, so they were attacked, they were sunk
- 5:51Speaker 5: in and attached to concrete. Like he spent over twenty
- 5:56Speaker 5: two thousand on this little system.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Twenty two thousand dollars huh, all to save a probably
- 6:07Speaker 1: twenty two thousand dollars roof that I think going off
- 6:11Speaker 1: he would have paid around one one and a half
- 6:13Speaker 1: percent deductible to replace.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Well, but you have all the stuff it gets ruined
- 6:18Speaker 5: and okay, well there's that.
- 6:20Speaker 6: Like twenty two thousand US dollars, but not like like
- 6:22Speaker 6: Disneyland Bucks.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that'll buy a lot of character breakfasts, a lot.
- 6:31Speaker 6: Of frozen bananas.
- 6:32Speaker 3: There.
- 6:34Speaker 6: Did it work?
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think you did. I think the roof survived Hurricane Milton.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So look, I think what we've learned here is there's
- 6:42Speaker 1: a fine line between redneck idiocy and redneck ingenuity. I mean, really,
- 6:48Speaker 1: the only difference is whether or not it worked.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's yeah, But you know, you know.
- 6:56Speaker 5: There's going to be some hay seeds in Texas to
- 6:58Speaker 5: try to do this with their mobile home.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and look those things like I lived in a
- 7:08Speaker 1: trailer for for nine ten months. It was a nice one,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but they're not the strongest made things. That's why they're
- 7:16Speaker 1: so affordable.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Yeah, well, and attached to the broken down chevies in
- 7:22Speaker 5: the front and back of the you know that's it's
- 7:24Speaker 5: it's not gonna be enough.
- 7:25Speaker 1: No, that's why. Yeah, that's why. When when I lived
- 7:28Speaker 1: in the trailer for nine ten months, what I made
- 7:30Speaker 1: sure to do is what uh, you know, at the
- 7:32Speaker 1: threat of a storm, I made sure to strap it
- 7:35Speaker 1: down and attach it to various commodes around the trailer,
- 7:41Speaker 1: so that way I knew for sure if it was
- 7:44Speaker 1: gonna fly away, it was gonna sound like a really
- 7:46Speaker 1: jacked up wind chime.
- 7:50Speaker 6: I thought you were gonna say, like you hid under that.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Isn't that a thing where you hide under the It's
- 7:55Speaker 6: not a trailer anymore. It's modular home, I believe, is
- 7:57Speaker 6: what they call it. Now. Well, those are two different things,
- 8:00Speaker 6: Oh are they really?
- 8:01Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, modular home is something that you know, it gets
- 8:04Speaker 1: brought to your home and kind of unfolded or put
- 8:06Speaker 1: together when it's there, like you like a table for
- 8:08Speaker 1: my kiya.
- 8:11Speaker 6: When you're ordering your modular home, where you're like, I'll
- 8:14Speaker 6: have the fy.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Look. If you want to step up from mobile home,
- 8:21Speaker 1: get you a house that you have to unpack out
- 8:23Speaker 1: of peanuts.
- 8:30Speaker 8: Visit us online at Trehouse on air dot com.
- 8:40Speaker 1: All right, let's get you into a new car. If
- 8:42Speaker 1: you were thinking, you know, I'd love a new vehicle,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but I'm just not sure if I can afford it,
- 8:46Speaker 1: go to fairlease dot org. Because not only can Fairlea's
- 8:49Speaker 1: help save you money on that new vehicle or pre
- 8:52Speaker 1: owned vehicle, they can help you save a lot of
- 8:55Speaker 1: time too. So when I first started leasing vehicles, I
- 8:59Speaker 1: have actually would lease a pre lease or a pre
- 9:03Speaker 1: owned vehicle because leasing costs less than buying. That's true
- 9:06Speaker 1: whether you're buying a brand new vehicle or even a
- 9:09Speaker 1: used vehicle, and fair LEAs can help you navigate all
- 9:12Speaker 1: those situations and find what works best for you and
- 9:16Speaker 1: your budget. And then when you decide on the vehicle
- 9:19Speaker 1: and everything that you want, they'll bring it to you
- 9:21Speaker 1: and you can sign all their paperwork and everything remotely.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So you're not only saving a bunch of money when
- 9:25Speaker 1: you lease from fair Lease, but you can also save
- 9:28Speaker 1: a bunch of time. So that's what we do inside
- 9:30Speaker 1: the treehouse. Time for a new vehicle, We're gonna call
- 9:33Speaker 1: or email Fairleas, and all that information is right there
- 9:36Speaker 1: on their website. It's fairlease dot org. It is leasing
- 9:40Speaker 1: the no asss away with fair leaves once again. Go
- 9:44Speaker 1: to that website. Tell them you heard about them. Right
- 9:46Speaker 1: here inside the treehouse, it is fair least the website
- 9:49Speaker 1: fairlease dot org.
- 10:00Speaker 8: In the treehouse, visit us online at Treehouse OnAir dot com.
- 10:06Speaker 1: That first segment of the treehouse is brought to you
- 10:08Speaker 1: by Fairlease. Save time, save money on that next new
- 10:11Speaker 1: vehicle when you lease it from Fairlease. Go to fairlease
- 10:15Speaker 1: dot org and lease the no hassleway from Fairlease. That
- 10:19Speaker 1: is fairlease dot org once again, the website fairlease dot org.
- 10:27Speaker 1: All right, So we mentioned the death and devastation that
- 10:30Speaker 1: came out of Hurricane Milton hitting Florida late last week,
- 10:34Speaker 1: But there were some other spots and stories surrounding the
- 10:38Speaker 1: storm that were interesting and things I wanted to share
- 10:40Speaker 1: with you guys. This this this fine Monday, uh. And
- 10:44Speaker 1: that was since the hurricane was named Milton last week,
- 10:48Speaker 1: we talked about, Look, if you want people to respect
- 10:50Speaker 1: the danger of a storm, you need to give it
- 10:52Speaker 1: a more dangerous sounding name. If you're gonna if you're
- 10:56Speaker 1: gonna name it after my great uncle Milford, which is
- 11:00Speaker 1: what I think of when I heard hurricane Milton. I'm
- 11:03Speaker 1: not scared of that. That's the quiet dude that had
- 11:05Speaker 1: no other option. And since he had no other option
- 11:08Speaker 1: in Pittsburgh, Texas, he married my great grandmother Glick, and
- 11:11Speaker 1: he spent the rest of his life pissing his pants
- 11:13Speaker 1: in his chair. That made him sit up when he
- 11:15Speaker 1: didn't even want to. Whereas if you gave that hurricane
- 11:19Speaker 1: a different name, people will be like, I'm not gonna
- 11:21Speaker 1: wait around and ride this thing out. Because Trey had
- 11:23Speaker 1: the great suggestion of naming.
- 11:24Speaker 4: It what Marcellus Wallace.
- 11:27Speaker 1: You will get the f out of Florida if there's
- 11:29Speaker 1: a hurricane coming at you named Marcellus Wallace. But some
- 11:33Speaker 1: people took the name and stride people that when they
- 11:36Speaker 1: bought up their windows. They always show people on the
- 11:39Speaker 1: news they're boarding of windows with wooden things, and then
- 11:41Speaker 1: sometimes they'll put messages on those pieces of wood. A
- 11:44Speaker 1: lot of people were keeping their sense of humor about
- 11:46Speaker 1: it by referencing the famous character Milton from Office Space
- 11:50Speaker 1: and spray painted notes saying Milton, we don't have your stapler.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Go away, Milton, Please don't burn down the building. Type
- 11:58Speaker 1: of stuff, which is great. In addition to the guy
- 12:01Speaker 1: who strapped down his entire house and it worked, there
- 12:04Speaker 1: were some other interesting stories coming out of the storm,
- 12:07Speaker 1: and that was did you guys hear about the guy
- 12:10Speaker 1: they referred to as Lieutenant Dan ahead of Milton. Yes,
- 12:14Speaker 1: so there was a guy who swore he was not evacuating,
- 12:17Speaker 1: he was not leaving, he was gonna ride out Milton
- 12:20Speaker 1: in his boat, and the local authorities nicknamed him Lieutenant Dan.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Good news is Lieutenant Dan is alive. People were worried
- 12:28Speaker 1: about him after the storm went through, the authorities and
- 12:30Speaker 1: news crews went to check on him. He's a okay.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It probably helped that Milton turned south instead of hitting
- 12:36Speaker 1: Tampa directly, Otherwise I don't think Lieutenant Dan would have
- 12:40Speaker 1: won that battle. And then there was also when you
- 12:46Speaker 1: have all the reporters in the field, interesting things get
- 12:51Speaker 1: set up to happen. Like a guy from the Weather
- 12:53Speaker 1: channel is doing a report during some of the heavy
- 12:56Speaker 1: rains of the storm and he's standing in someone's yard
- 12:59Speaker 1: and I and at the time he's doing his live report,
- 13:02Speaker 1: the sprinklers in the yard turn on. Because sometimes when
- 13:07Speaker 1: you're evacuating, you forget to turn off the automatic settings
- 13:11Speaker 1: on things like your sprinklers. And this is one of
- 13:17Speaker 1: my favorites. The BBC has a weather app and during
- 13:24Speaker 1: during Hurricane Milton, they had a really bad glitch and
- 13:28Speaker 1: hurricane force wind alerts popped up for cities all over
- 13:32Speaker 1: the world. In London, according to BBC's weather app, they
- 13:37Speaker 1: had hurricane force winds measuring thirteen thousand miles an hour.
- 13:50Speaker 6: The new premise for London has fallen too.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, London has been blown away.
- 13:56Speaker 5: That number is so big you can't even get it
- 13:58Speaker 5: confused between you know, miles and kalum.
- 14:00Speaker 4: And there was some conversion.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah either way, that's bad. And then so I mentioned,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you know the uh, the Weather Channel reporter having the
- 14:11Speaker 1: sprinklers go off in the background, where well, there are
- 14:14Speaker 1: also some very famous people that go to cover these storms,
- 14:18Speaker 1: one of which is Anderson Cooper. And he put himself
- 14:21Speaker 1: and right in the line of fire with Hurricane Milton,
- 14:25Speaker 1: so much so that I wanted to share this with you.
- 14:27Speaker 1: This is Live on CNN with Anderson Cooper and the
- 14:31Speaker 1: water I was really starting to pour over if you
- 14:33Speaker 1: look at the ground.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Woo.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Okay, So in the middle of his life, shut Anderson
- 14:41Speaker 1: Cooper gets smacked in the face by some debris. Although
- 14:44Speaker 1: I say that debris doesn't look that dangerous. It just
- 14:47Speaker 1: looks like the top of a styrofoam cooler.
- 14:50Speaker 6: Yeah, but at seventy five miles an hour, that's gonna hurt.
- 14:55Speaker 1: He was fine. Clearly, he's used to taking things on
- 14:59Speaker 1: his face. He's a pro and not to be outdone
- 15:12Speaker 1: by Anderson Cooper. There was a local Florida newsman who
- 15:16Speaker 1: was doing his live shot in the aftermath of Milton,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and uh, I'm gonna let them take it away. This
- 15:22Speaker 1: is from click Orlando dot Com talking about in the
- 15:26Speaker 1: aftermath of Milton, it's important for people to keep their
- 15:30Speaker 1: senses of humor from those.
- 15:33Speaker 9: Who are hurricane veterans. They know the drill and they've
- 15:36Speaker 9: roughed it up before, and they think it all.
- 15:38Speaker 1: On the chin.
- 15:39Speaker 9: New six is done in my refound. A couple of
- 15:41Speaker 9: those gentlemen out on Edgewater Drive in College Park. Basically
- 15:46Speaker 9: after Milton, people get out and they start doing some things.
- 15:48Speaker 9: I ran into these two guys who are fishing. Except
- 15:50Speaker 9: but before we even talk to them, there's one problem.
- 15:53Speaker 9: If destiny zooms out a little bit, we're fishing in
- 15:57Speaker 9: the middle of the road. We are on Edgeword Avenue
- 16:00Speaker 9: in College Park. Dude, you got a fish. You I
- 16:03Speaker 9: saw you. You just caught that fish.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And I'd like to point out that that fish is
- 16:07Speaker 1: a really big It looks like a bass. That's that's
- 16:10Speaker 1: like what Trey would you say, five to eight pound
- 16:13Speaker 1: fish that he caught in the middle of the flooded street.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd say, yeah, and here was five pounds.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a that is an impressive hall. However,
- 16:22Speaker 1: this is Florida, and Florida doesn't do anything half assed.
- 16:25Speaker 1: So when you're a reporter covering hurricane damage in Florida
- 16:29Speaker 1: and you find two guys fishing in the middle of
- 16:31Speaker 1: the road, you probably think this may be the most
- 16:34Speaker 1: Florida thing I've ever seen. Right wrong, Just wait for more.
- 16:38Speaker 6: I did right in the tree. Honestly, it's traditional Hurricane Yan,
- 16:42Speaker 6: same exact thing.
- 16:43Speaker 9: Heavens because this road floods all the time, and we
- 16:47Speaker 9: were down here when Ian flood trooper Steve came down here.
- 16:50Speaker 9: So you basically and there's a guy coming behind us
- 16:53Speaker 9: in a lawnmower, isn't.
- 16:54Speaker 1: That No, that's Florida.
- 16:58Speaker 9: Oh, we've got people fishing in the road. We've got
- 17:01Speaker 9: a guy on a lawnmower. You're doing all right, He's
- 17:08Speaker 9: doing all right. Yeah, So we've got people fishing in
- 17:12Speaker 9: the middle of the road. I got a lawnmower in
- 17:15Speaker 9: the middle of the road.
- 17:16Speaker 6: And so, like you.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Said, I love that he's leaning back.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I don't think I could ever see something more Florida
- 17:27Speaker 1: in one news report happening At the same time, he's
- 17:32Speaker 1: just riding his skag riding lawnmower right down the flooded street.
- 17:35Speaker 1: What is he mowing or is he just using it
- 17:38Speaker 1: to get from point A to point B? I have
- 17:39Speaker 1: no idea. I have so many questions.
- 17:41Speaker 6: Yeah, that's just if you want to sum up Florida
- 17:47Speaker 6: fishing in the street and then uh pimping in your
- 17:51Speaker 6: in your lawnmower.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just missing an alligator in a waffle house,
- 17:55Speaker 5: and that shot would be complete.
- 17:59Speaker 1: They just needed to zoom just a little bit more.

- 20:05Speaker 1: once again that you are eight years sober. You have
- 20:11Speaker 1: not had any alcohol in eight years, and that's a
- 20:15Speaker 1: huge achievement, and I congratulate you. I did notice two
- 20:19Speaker 1: things over the weeknd. One was I was at a
- 20:22Speaker 1: spot getting some breakfast and some booze. They call it brunch,
- 20:26Speaker 1: and I thought of you because a guy came up.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I guess he was a supplier for this place where
- 20:32Speaker 1: my wife and I were hanging out, and she's like, hey,
- 20:35Speaker 1: we have this. I'm sorry, back up, he tells the owner.
- 20:38Speaker 1: He's like, hey, guess what. I'm sober. I've been sober
- 20:41Speaker 1: for three months now. And she's like, oh my god.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Really and he says yes, And then she asks him
- 20:45Speaker 1: three or four more times really like really really? He
- 20:49Speaker 1: says yes. I feel great, my life is better. I've
- 20:52Speaker 1: kicked my alcoholism alcoholism addiction. I feel wonderful. And then
- 20:58Speaker 1: she says, hey, we got this rose a special. Do
- 21:00Speaker 1: you want to try some. I don't know if she
- 21:02Speaker 1: did it out of habit or she just really didn't
- 21:04Speaker 1: believe him, but that's got to be an interesting twist.
- 21:07Speaker 1: As someone who's been sober for eight years, people won
- 21:11Speaker 1: asking multiple times, really are you really sober and then
- 21:15Speaker 1: offering you booze.
- 21:18Speaker 5: I mean I got that question quite a bit in
- 21:21Speaker 5: my first year, and rightfully so, after drinking every day
- 21:25Speaker 5: for twenty five years, I could understand that it was
- 21:30Speaker 5: a shock to a lot of people. And then yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 5: sometimes you'll get the person who just doesn't process it
- 21:40Speaker 5: or associates like they think, oh, okaye sober, but you know,
- 21:50Speaker 5: yeah a rose, well that doesn't count, or yeah it's yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 5: it's like I said, yeah, I had a barton one
- 22:00Speaker 5: time asked me it's like, you know, well, can't you
- 22:04Speaker 5: just just have one? And I was like, if I
- 22:07Speaker 5: could have one, I wouldn't be an alcoholic.
- 22:12Speaker 1: It's interesting how people It's interesting how people always challenge
- 22:15Speaker 1: these things. Also, like I've seen this with vegetarians before,
- 22:18Speaker 1: when someone says I'm a vegetarian and the person they're
- 22:21Speaker 1: telling this too says, do you eat fish? No, they
- 22:23Speaker 1: just said they're a vegetarian if they eat fish and
- 22:26Speaker 1: fish only, then it's pescatarian. It's like everyone can't understand why.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I guess why people make certain decisions or they want
- 22:33Speaker 1: to qualify it or challenge it in some way. That's
- 22:36Speaker 1: why it doesn't make any sense to me. I've been
- 22:38Speaker 1: around enough alcoholics to be included to know that if
- 22:40Speaker 1: someone says they're an alcoholic and they haven't had a
- 22:42Speaker 1: drink in such a long time, I'm not going to
- 22:44Speaker 1: challenge them on it. I never when Drey, when you said, actually,
- 22:47Speaker 1: i've been sober X amount of years, I'm like, good
- 22:49Speaker 1: for you. Don't force it on me.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Yeah, and I have it.
- 22:55Speaker 5: I can understand, like with like people say they're vegetarian,
- 22:59Speaker 5: because there's so often there's.
- 23:01Speaker 4: A but you know, i'll do this or do that
- 23:05Speaker 4: or whatever.
- 23:07Speaker 5: And you know, if you're a vegetarian and you have
- 23:10Speaker 5: a fish or steak or whatever, it's not going to
- 23:13Speaker 5: kill you. Generally, if you're you know, an alcoholic and
- 23:16Speaker 5: they say i've been sober, I drink might kill you.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Because I've known people like that. I say known in
- 23:23Speaker 1: the past tense because they're dead now right.
- 23:27Speaker 6: No, I didn't drink, you know, I was in the
- 23:30Speaker 6: stomach confection, the aged pilory, and then I had about
- 23:32Speaker 6: a pink or titis and I didn't drink for almost
- 23:36Speaker 6: two years, year and a half, a little over year
- 23:38Speaker 6: and a half, and I would still do shows and
- 23:41Speaker 6: people would try to buy me shots on stage. I'm like, no,
- 23:44Speaker 6: I'm not drinking, and I would get booed. I'm like, who,
- 23:47Speaker 6: who booz you?
- 23:49Speaker 1: That's the alcoholics who are still drinking, That's true.
- 23:52Speaker 6: The weirdest reaction I ever got was like, let me
- 23:56Speaker 6: let me buy you a shot. I'm on stage. I'm like,
- 23:58Speaker 6: let me get you a shot. I'm like, good man,
- 24:00Speaker 6: I'm not drinking right now. I'm good drinking a year.
- 24:04Speaker 6: Boo look really, I was like, this is so Texas.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Speaking of someone that probably needs to be booed. Is
- 24:11Speaker 1: a young woman by the name of Eliza Loftis. She
- 24:14Speaker 1: is twenty six years old. She's from England. The reason
- 24:17Speaker 1: why I'm telling you about her is because her story
- 24:19Speaker 1: is quite interesting. See because in April of this year
- 24:27Speaker 1: in England, young Eliza crashed into a tree after a
- 24:32Speaker 1: night at the pub. Her white Ford ca careered into
- 24:37Speaker 1: a tree shortly after midnight after a night out at
- 24:40Speaker 1: a pub. So she crashed her car into a tree
- 24:43Speaker 1: and then fled into the bushes to hide from responding police.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Where the interesting twist on this is is miss loftis
- 24:53Speaker 1: who got drunk at a pub and crashed her car
- 24:56Speaker 1: into a tree and hidden the bushes, is the marketing
- 24:59Speaker 1: director in chie fundraiser for an alcohol and drug charity.
- 25:10Speaker 6: This New Market Research.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Last Thursday, she was sentenced and banned from driving for
- 25:20Speaker 1: forty months after pleading guilty to drunk driving. The court
- 25:26Speaker 1: heard that she was driving home from a pub on
- 25:28Speaker 1: April seventh when her white Ford careened into a tree
- 25:32Speaker 1: shortly after midnight, and then she head in the bushes.
- 25:36Speaker 1: She hid in the bushes, and the responding officers approached
- 25:39Speaker 1: the bush approximately twenty meters away from the crash and shouted,
- 25:43Speaker 1: police come out. And then a female who was the
- 25:47Speaker 1: defendant before the court emerged night and she said, I'm sorry.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Now you have forty months. That's a pretty strong sentence.
- 25:55Speaker 1: No driving for her for forty months. But the fact
- 25:58Speaker 1: that she's the chief fund racer and marketing officer for
- 26:02Speaker 1: an alcoholism charity just sometimes the irony just writes itself.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I mean she's not only the president, she's also a client.
- 26:17Speaker 6: And top salesman.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Well, you know what, sometimes if you really want to
- 26:21Speaker 1: raise some money for an alcoholism charity. One of the
- 26:23Speaker 1: best things you can do is shine a light on it,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and no better way to do that than getting drunk
- 26:28Speaker 1: and driving into the forest. There is actually one slightly
- 26:33Speaker 1: better way to get more attention on this entire scenario,
- 26:36Speaker 1: and that is by the mugshot that you take. Right.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Celebrity mugshots are very popular, and when I saw this story,
- 26:43Speaker 1: I thought, Okay, let's see what kind of mugshot this
- 26:46Speaker 1: lady's working with as a charity fundraiser for an alcoholism
- 26:50Speaker 1: charity that gets you know, arrested and sentenced for drunk driving.
- 26:55Speaker 1: So here's her mugshot. This is Eliza Loftus. Oh wait, sorry,
- 27:02Speaker 1: that's sorry, that's large Marge from Pee Wee's Biggot. No sorry,
- 27:09Speaker 1: here is here is Eliza Loftis hey?
- 27:13Speaker 6: Now right? Well done? That's her mugshot.
- 27:20Speaker 1: So I don't know for sure if it's her mugshot,
- 27:23Speaker 1: but it's one of the photos that's circulating everywhere, and
- 27:26Speaker 1: since it's got just a very blah background, I like
- 27:29Speaker 1: to think it's possible that it's her mugshot. However, she
- 27:33Speaker 1: did blow three times the legal limit that night, so
- 27:38Speaker 1: I don't know if this is her mugshot the night
- 27:40Speaker 1: of the arrest.
- 27:43Speaker 6: That's I mean, she looks great.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I mean I think if you're the defense attorney and
- 27:49Speaker 1: this is the mugshot, you say you're honor, I think
- 27:52Speaker 1: there's no way she's three times the legal limit.
- 27:55Speaker 6: Three times the legal limit. Wow. Yeah, for I mean
- 28:00Speaker 6: for almost alcohol poisoning. She looks great.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I know you really would have expected it to look
- 28:06Speaker 1: more like large Marge.
- 28:09Speaker 6: I was expecting Nick Nolty.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Now that's reserved for at least five times the league limits.

- 29:45Speaker 1: let me tell you about possibly the weirdest Halloween product
- 29:49Speaker 1: of the year. Are you ready? You guys are familiar
- 29:53Speaker 1: with Airheads the candy, right, yeah? Okay, Well, the makers
- 29:58Speaker 1: of Airheads candy are releasing a candy scented foot spray
- 30:04Speaker 1: for Halloween. Who's excited for that?
- 30:07Speaker 4: Right?
- 30:08Speaker 1: And I don't think this is just for like an
- 30:10Speaker 1: OnlyFans thing. There is an actual tie in here. Okay
- 30:14Speaker 1: it took me a minute to understand, but now I do.
- 30:18Speaker 1: The Airhead's candy foot spray is called Trick or Treat
- 30:22Speaker 1: Smell My Feet. Yeah, the can is actually shaped like
- 30:28Speaker 1: a foot and it's supposed to smell exactly like cherry
- 30:32Speaker 1: flavored airheads. Thankfully not feet, otherwise I would clearly defeat
- 30:36Speaker 1: the purpose. They say it is for parents. With smelly
- 30:39Speaker 1: feet who have to accompany their kids on Halloween this year,
- 30:43Speaker 1: the promo video says, the average trick or treater walks
- 30:46Speaker 1: one point two five miles, and since it's not something
- 30:51Speaker 1: most people would typically want, you can't buy it. They're
- 30:55Speaker 1: doing a limited run and they're giving them away through
- 30:58Speaker 1: their website. If you want, you can sign up to
- 31:00Speaker 1: win a can of Airheads foot Spray at Airheads Footspray
- 31:06Speaker 1: dot com. So once you hear trick or Treat smell
- 31:09Speaker 1: my feet, then I can understand the tie in. But
- 31:11Speaker 1: it took me a minute reading through that story to
- 31:14Speaker 1: get there, but I appreciate it.
- 31:16Speaker 6: No, that is that's a great way to go. H hey,
- 31:21Speaker 6: it's for people with foot fetishes. That's what that's for.
- 31:25Speaker 6: They're just trying to go uh no, no, no, it's
- 31:27Speaker 6: for people who walk a lot. Really, I don't I
- 31:29Speaker 6: walk a lot. Look, I walk a lot, and I
- 31:33Speaker 6: don't need a can of cherry flavored cherry scented. Is
- 31:37Speaker 6: it flavored or scented. If it's flavored, then we know
- 31:39Speaker 6: what they're talking about.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I'm glad you bring that up because they said in
- 31:44Speaker 1: the story it's supposed to smell exactly like cherry flavored airheads.
- 31:51Speaker 6: Hmmm, so smell and flavor. Yeah, this is for people
- 31:54Speaker 6: who like the suck toes. That's what this is.
- 31:58Speaker 1: You sound like. You sound like one of the times
- 32:00Speaker 1: ever went into an adult store and I and I
- 32:03Speaker 1: learned that there were flavored lubricants.
- 32:05Speaker 6: I thought, why, Yeah, I have a buddy of mine
- 32:12Speaker 6: who has a very very severe fet footage foot fetish,
- 32:16Speaker 6: and he can't, like, if there's a woman in the
- 32:18Speaker 6: room with like open toed shoes, like he can't, like
- 32:21Speaker 6: he loses his mind. So this is like, this would
- 32:24Speaker 6: be for him, This would be.
- 32:26Speaker 1: That sounds like a like you said, that's that's a legitimate,
- 32:31Speaker 1: like public problem, not just a personal problem for him.
- 32:35Speaker 1: But if he can't stay in a room with a
- 32:36Speaker 1: woman with open toed shoes, he can never go to
- 32:39Speaker 1: the beach.
- 32:40Speaker 6: No, I don't believe he does.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I don't.
- 32:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's weird. He just I don't know how
- 32:45Speaker 6: you develop it. I don't know how it happens. But
- 32:48Speaker 6: his thing is like if there's like, if he sees
- 32:51Speaker 6: feet that he likes, he gets super turned on and
- 32:54Speaker 6: has to like he has to leave.
- 32:57Speaker 5: And how does that, like, I I feel like that
- 33:01Speaker 5: would be more awkward than just coming out to your friend.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Uh that how how did you broach that subject?
- 33:08Speaker 6: I was at his house and I was with the
- 33:10Speaker 6: girl that I was dating, and she had an open
- 33:13Speaker 6: to shoot and she had just had a manny petty done.
- 33:16Speaker 6: And he texted me from the other side of the room.
- 33:18Speaker 6: He goes, your girl's got nice feet. And I was like,
- 33:23Speaker 6: thank you. I'm also in your house and I can
- 33:25Speaker 6: see you. Uh so this is a really weird text.
- 33:29Speaker 6: And he's like, no, man, she's got really really nice feet.
- 33:32Speaker 6: And I was like, oh, okay. And so we you know,
- 33:35Speaker 6: said our goodbyes, and we've you know, finished up dinner
- 33:38Speaker 6: and all that good stuff, and when we uh, when
- 33:41Speaker 6: we when we got back to our house in La Uh.
- 33:44Speaker 6: He was like, yeah, just something like that's my thing,
- 33:47Speaker 6: his feet. He's like, I'm not a a boob guy
- 33:50Speaker 6: or a butt guy. He's like, I'm a I'm a
- 33:52Speaker 6: foot guy.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I just seems like that would just be a really
- 33:57Speaker 5: awkward conversation. I mean that, yeah, if your buddy's dating
- 34:04Speaker 5: a girl, I feel like, you know, it would even
- 34:06Speaker 5: be a like I'm not gonna text him on Hey,
- 34:08Speaker 5: she's got nice.
- 34:09Speaker 6: Boobs, you know, solid rack on your chick.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I mean.
- 34:16Speaker 5: Maybe after you're done dating whatever, you're like, oh, yeah,
- 34:19Speaker 5: you know, she had nice cans, but uh, you have
- 34:22Speaker 5: to sit there while you're in the same room.
- 34:23Speaker 4: And especially feet, Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 6: I just I don't know how you developed that, how
- 34:29Speaker 6: you decide feet are going to be your thing because
- 34:33Speaker 6: the majority of people have busted feet. Oh yeah, the
- 34:39Speaker 6: majority of people have really really bad feet. Like I
- 34:42Speaker 6: have nice feet. I can say that about myself. I
- 34:44Speaker 6: have nice feet, But I've seen like a buddy mine
- 34:47Speaker 6: I was on his boat and his pinky toe looked
- 34:49Speaker 6: like it was trying to commit suicide. Like it was.
- 34:53Speaker 6: I was like, bro, you're your little toe doesn't want
- 34:55Speaker 6: to be here. It was that bad.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Most people, I mean, unfortunately, most people have never experienced
- 35:03Speaker 5: the how wonderfully relaxing a pedicure is.
- 35:08Speaker 6: And should get one, yes, and and and people like
- 35:13Speaker 6: when I tell people that I do like manicures and pedicures,
- 35:16Speaker 6: especially guys like, oh man, you really do that, would you, chick?
- 35:21Speaker 6: I'm like, no, dude, the foot massage that happens with
- 35:25Speaker 6: the pedicure is worth every single penny. It's better than
- 35:29Speaker 6: anything you've ever had.
- 35:31Speaker 5: I could not agree with you more because I'll pay
- 35:33Speaker 5: the extra where they'll do your calves. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 35:36Speaker 5: and yes, that that makes it all worth while for Yeah.
- 35:43Speaker 4: And you're right.
- 35:44Speaker 5: I mean, and guys be like, oh, I can't believe
- 35:46Speaker 5: you do that. I'm like, if you haven't done it,
- 35:48Speaker 5: shut up, I go. Try it once. I promise you
- 35:51Speaker 5: will go back and do it again.
- 35:53Speaker 3: I go.
- 35:54Speaker 4: That's one thing you always have to remember.
- 35:56Speaker 5: Women they have been they've known how like the the
- 36:00Speaker 5: good things. It's like they kept that to themselves for
- 36:03Speaker 5: a long time.
- 36:04Speaker 6: Yeah, and then we figured it out. And then it's
- 36:09Speaker 6: also like there are especially like in the UK, there
- 36:12Speaker 6: are salons for men, so like you can go in
- 36:15Speaker 6: and get manicures and pedicures, you can go get in
- 36:18Speaker 6: and get facials done. You can go in and do
- 36:20Speaker 6: all that stuff and it's just for men, which is
- 36:23Speaker 6: I think is really cool. If that would kind of
- 36:25Speaker 6: shift over to this side, well for.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I think some of those have popped up, you know,
- 36:31Speaker 1: the salons for men in the States, especially around Texas.
- 36:34Speaker 1: The problem is the police keep shutting them down.
- 36:37Speaker 7: Yeah, you're listening to the Treehouse visit us online at
- 36:46Speaker 7: Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 37:02Speaker 8: You're in the Treehouse, visit us online at Treehouse on
- 37:07Speaker 8: air dot com.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Be sure to check out all things Treehouse at our
- 37:12Speaker 1: website Treehouse on air dot com. That's Treehouse on Air
- 37:16Speaker 1: dot com links to the Listeners Foundation where you can
- 37:19Speaker 1: donate to that. We would appreciate it. All funds go
- 37:23Speaker 1: to the families of police officers and firefighters who have
- 37:28Speaker 1: been killed in the line of duty in North Texas. Unfortunately,
- 37:32Speaker 1: written three checks out of the foundation in the past
- 37:35Speaker 1: couple of months, So it would be great if you
- 37:39Speaker 1: could help us in supporting that cause that we have
- 37:43Speaker 1: carried on throughout the years, in supporting those who keep
- 37:47Speaker 1: us safe day in and day out. So we would
- 37:50Speaker 1: appreciate that, and once again all things Treehouse on the
- 37:53Speaker 1: website treehouseonair dot com. All right, I took a sneak
- 37:58Speaker 1: peek ahead and today is I know this goes against
- 38:02Speaker 1: you know, radio standards when you're not supposed to say
- 38:05Speaker 1: something you're about to do is boring. But at first, blush,
- 38:08Speaker 1: I thought this next thing we were gonna do is
- 38:10Speaker 1: gonna be a little dull. And then there was a
- 38:13Speaker 1: glimmer of hope and I can't wait to share it
- 38:15Speaker 1: with you. Now it is time for birthdays here on
- 38:20Speaker 1: a Monday, October fourteenth, twenty twenty four. Trust me, there's
- 38:26Speaker 1: a really really good one here that you're going to enjoy.
- 38:29Speaker 1: But first, other birthdays, Let's start with Stacy Keebler, former
- 38:35Speaker 1: WWE wrestler slash beauty slash x of George Clooney. Before
- 38:42Speaker 1: he found his one and only a Mall Clooney, he
- 38:45Speaker 1: dated Stacy Keebler and if I remember right, it was
- 38:47Speaker 1: around the time that she graced the cover of I
- 38:52Speaker 1: think it was FHM or Maxim magazine, something along those lines,
- 38:56Speaker 1: so he timed that right. Other birthdays today, Usher turns
- 39:02Speaker 1: forty six. Natalie Mainz from the Don't Call Us the
- 39:06Speaker 1: Dixie Chicks is fifty today. Now they just go buy
- 39:09Speaker 1: the Chicks trying to move away from their Antebellum pass well,
- 39:15Speaker 1: and I can't say Antebellum either, because Lady Antebellum changed
- 39:17Speaker 1: their named Lady A as if we don't remember what
- 39:19Speaker 1: the A stands for.
- 39:23Speaker 6: And there's also a female hip hop artist named Lady
- 39:25Speaker 6: A that they just went, we're gonna take your name.
- 39:28Speaker 1: That was she sued them, and I believe they settled,
- 39:32Speaker 1: and lucky for Lady A. The rapper Lady Antebellum that
- 39:35Speaker 1: changed the name to Lady A. The Country Act very
- 39:38Speaker 1: successful and had plenty of money to send Lady A
- 39:41Speaker 1: to use that name. Nice me, I see it, like,
- 39:44Speaker 1: just change the name to something else. I mean, I look,
- 39:47Speaker 1: I understand, Lady Antebellum, Lady A, it's a. It's a.
- 39:51Speaker 1: It's a threesome, right, it's it's two. It's it's two
- 39:54Speaker 1: guys and a girl. But if we're being honest, it's
- 39:57Speaker 1: one guy, one girl singing and the other eyes the
- 40:01Speaker 1: guy that plays some of the instruments. They're all very talented.
- 40:04Speaker 1: But if there's two dudes and one chick, I mean,
- 40:06Speaker 1: outside of you know, renaming your band Eiffel Tower or
- 40:11Speaker 1: you know, Fingercuffs, maybe something that both, like the guys
- 40:16Speaker 1: would want to be known as in the country world.
- 40:19Speaker 6: Would you have to send out a statement like, Hey,
- 40:22Speaker 6: we were this and now we are this, so don't
- 40:26Speaker 6: don't stop buying our stuff. I think going from Lady
- 40:29Speaker 6: Antebellum to Lady A is an easier choice. And from
- 40:32Speaker 6: the Dixie Chicks to the Chicks, Yeah, because at least
- 40:35Speaker 6: it's still your fan base knows who you are. But
- 40:37Speaker 6: if you went from Lady Antebellum to like Steve and
- 40:41Speaker 6: Doug and Trish, like people were like, who are those guys?
- 40:45Speaker 1: I would just like to see people's reactions when they
- 40:48Speaker 1: go to buy Lady a Merchant instead of being the
- 40:51Speaker 1: country group, it's the rapper chick. It's gonna be some
- 40:56Speaker 1: confused people at the concert.
- 41:02Speaker 5: I just look at it like STARplex. You know the
- 41:04Speaker 5: concert venue here in Dallas is you know they changed
- 41:07Speaker 5: the name. It opened up as Coca Cola STARplex. It's
- 41:10Speaker 5: gone through fifteen name changes. I think technically now it's
- 41:14Speaker 5: the Doseeki's Pavilion, but it will always be STARplex.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Yeah, just keep the name as it is because that's
- 41:20Speaker 1: you're right, Tray. That's how I know that facility, and
- 41:23Speaker 1: that's how I'm always going to refer to it, even
- 41:25Speaker 1: though radio wise we've had to refer to it as
- 41:28Speaker 1: Dosequi's Pavilion, Superpages dot Com arena, but sorry I kicked
- 41:34Speaker 1: something there or whatever. Insurance company of the week, that's
- 41:39Speaker 1: not declaring bankruptcy type of thing. Yeah, it's just it's STARplex.
- 41:45Speaker 6: I thought before do skis it went back to STARplex.
- 41:49Speaker 1: It actually did.
- 41:51Speaker 6: That's great.
- 41:52Speaker 1: So even STARplex referts back to its original name when
- 41:55Speaker 1: it doesn't have any buyers.
- 41:59Speaker 6: It beats checksa energy pavilion. That was the worst.
- 42:02Speaker 4: One superpages dot Com. This was pretty bad.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Up touche, not only the name, but even at the
- 42:16Speaker 1: time it just didn't feel like a good venue either.
- 42:18Speaker 1: But once it changed back to start Bucks's like, that's
- 42:20Speaker 1: kind of nice.
- 42:21Speaker 6: Yeah, it sounds nice.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Other birthdays Today, Shaggy Too Dope from Insane Clown
- 42:27Speaker 1: Posse is also turning the big five.
- 42:29Speaker 4: Oh.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Steve Coogan, who plays the tiny Roman soldier Octavius in
- 42:35Speaker 1: The Night at the Museum movies, he is fifty eight.
- 42:38Speaker 1: He's also, by the way, in one of our favorite movies,
- 42:41Speaker 1: Inside the Treehouse. He's the one that plays the neurotic
- 42:44Speaker 1: director who gets blown up in Tropic Thunder.
- 42:48Speaker 6: Oh okay, yeah.
- 42:49Speaker 1: And I misspoke. He's not fifty eight today. He is
- 42:51Speaker 1: fifty nine. Steve Coogan fifty nine. Today Thomas Dolby is
- 42:58Speaker 1: sixty six. And here's the big birthday of the day.
- 43:01Speaker 1: You would think it would be Shaggy Too Dope, but no,
- 43:04Speaker 1: it's actually Greg Evigan. He is seventy one today. He
- 43:08Speaker 1: is from My Two Dads fame. He was the one
- 43:11Speaker 1: with the great eighties hair mullet and the other dad
- 43:13Speaker 1: was Paul Riser. Greg Evigan was the second dad and
- 43:18Speaker 1: before he was in My Two Dads Tray. I know
- 43:20Speaker 1: you'll remember this. He was one of the stars of
- 43:24Speaker 1: BJ and the Bear Show. Raj, Did you ever watch
- 43:28Speaker 1: BJ and the Bear?
- 43:29Speaker 6: I did? I did?
- 43:32Speaker 1: Yeah, See, I'm I really for whatever reason, I don't
- 43:35Speaker 1: really remember watching that show, and it really seems like
- 43:40Speaker 1: one I would have loved as a child, even just
- 43:42Speaker 1: reading the synopsis of it. The Escapades of a hunky
- 43:46Speaker 1: trucker and his pet chimp. What's not to love?
- 43:53Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying this. This is the beauty of Hollywood.
- 43:56Speaker 6: Like somebody walked in and is like, all right, hey,
- 43:58Speaker 6: so what's what's your idea. It's like, all right, we
- 44:00Speaker 6: got a trucker and a chimp something. Then Hollywood went,
- 44:03Speaker 6: here's bags of money.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it worked for like the Man and Monkey formula
- 44:09Speaker 1: has worked time and again in Hollywood. Look look at
- 44:11Speaker 1: how great it worked out for Clint Eastwood.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Yeah, but likely isn't the man in the monkey. Yeah,
- 44:17Speaker 6: manimal like that was an actual move. That was an
- 44:19Speaker 6: actual TV showbody. It was like half man, half animal.
- 44:25Speaker 6: They're like, where have you been? It just makes no
- 44:30Speaker 6: sense in Hollywood, But it was back in the eighties
- 44:33Speaker 6: when they're like, Hey, what what kind of formula can
- 44:35Speaker 6: we can we do?
- 44:37Speaker 7: Uh?
- 44:37Speaker 6: We got Grizzly Adams. You know what, put ours in
- 44:42Speaker 6: a truck. That's what they did.
- 44:46Speaker 1: I would just like to once again read you this
- 44:47Speaker 1: synopsis of BJ and the Bear. This is from tv
- 44:51Speaker 1: guide dot com, The Escapades of a Hunky Trucker and
- 44:55Speaker 1: his pet chimp Bear in a Big Rig series cut
- 44:58Speaker 1: from The Dukes of Hazard. It's cloth, I mean, honestly,
- 45:03Speaker 1: just hunky trucker and his pet chimp named Bear. You
- 45:07Speaker 1: take the chimp out and you got a hell of
- 45:10Speaker 1: a night.
- 45:11Speaker 5: On Cedar Spree he changed that the bartender.
- 45:24Speaker 8: You're in the tree House listen U is online on
- 45:30Speaker 8: Treehouse on Air dot com. You're in the tree House

- 45:49Speaker 1: Don't forget to check out Hangman's House of Horrors, DFW's
- 45:52Speaker 1: best haunted house in Fort Worth. Hangman's House of Horrors
- 45:56Speaker 1: now open Friday, Saturday Sunday through November. Check out the
- 46:00Speaker 1: website for all the info at hangmans dot com. That
- 46:04Speaker 1: is Hangmans dot com. Raji were saying there was one
- 46:09Speaker 1: other tidbit out of Hurricane Milton that I missed earlier
- 46:12Speaker 1: when we were talking about all the things that had
- 46:14Speaker 1: come out of the storm.
- 46:16Speaker 6: Yeah, the one that really stuck out for me was
- 46:19Speaker 6: there was a gentleman who was rescued floating on a
- 46:22Speaker 6: cooler thirty miles off the coast Florida. He had a boat,
- 46:30Speaker 6: and the marino went to go check on the boat.
- 46:31Speaker 6: I think he was trying to make sure it was secure,
- 46:34Speaker 6: and it capsized and the last thing he could grab
- 46:38Speaker 6: was a cooler and he hit I believe it was
- 46:41Speaker 6: twenty five foot waves that kind of carried him and
- 46:46Speaker 6: kept carrying him and got him thirty miles out and
- 46:51Speaker 6: he was overnight, so the rescue was the next day.
- 46:54Speaker 6: Now I don't know how they found him. I'm assuming
- 46:57Speaker 6: a loved one was like, he went to go check
- 46:58Speaker 6: on the boat, the boat capsized, we don't know where
- 47:01Speaker 6: he is, and then the coast guard went to go
- 47:03Speaker 6: look and he was just floating in the middle of
- 47:06Speaker 6: the ocean.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Did his family tell the coast guard that they think
- 47:09Speaker 1: the cooler was full of beer, and they said, we'll
- 47:11Speaker 1: find him.
- 47:14Speaker 6: He was like, I didn't want to be rescued.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I'm living my best life from the middle of the Atlantic.
- 47:21Speaker 6: I got water all around me and cold beer.
- 47:25Speaker 1: And this is the thing. Corona commercials are moving.
- 47:28Speaker 6: Yeah, but I can't imagine being overnight, just sitting there
- 47:32Speaker 6: in the middle of the ocean.
- 47:33Speaker 1: So yeah, was was he on top of the cooler
- 47:37Speaker 1: or was it or is the cooler large enough where
- 47:39Speaker 1: he was inside of it and used it like a
- 47:41Speaker 1: little boat.
- 47:42Speaker 6: No, he was on top of the cooler. And that's
- 47:44Speaker 6: the moment where you're like, man, if this was if
- 47:46Speaker 6: this was the Titanic and Rose was there, he would
- 47:49Speaker 6: have died use she would have taken that cooler from him,
- 47:52Speaker 6: like she would have hopped on and kicked him right off.
- 47:55Speaker 6: He would have been jack.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's it's you're right, it's amazing that he
- 48:00Speaker 1: was found at all, thirty miles off the coast. Look,
- 48:04Speaker 1: every inch you get away from the coast reduces your
- 48:09Speaker 1: chances of being found at all, let alone alive. Yeah, drastically.
- 48:16Speaker 1: That's that's truly stunning.
- 48:17Speaker 6: Yeah, and there's a lot of stuff under that water
- 48:20Speaker 6: that likes to eat you. So the fact that he
- 48:24Speaker 6: didn't get eaten was amazing.
- 48:29Speaker 1: So yeah, did it say what type of like, what
- 48:32Speaker 1: what the cooler brand was? Because I'm able to go
- 48:37Speaker 1: through the roof. Yeah, I mean, YETI could use a comeback,
- 48:41Speaker 1: and what better one than this one saying I survived
- 48:44Speaker 1: thirty miles in a hurricane in my yetti.
- 48:47Speaker 6: I'm not gonna lie. I believe it looked like a
- 48:49Speaker 6: very large, just plain styrofoam cooler, like the kind.
- 48:53Speaker 1: You get from seven to eleven or oh wow.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:56Speaker 6: So but yeah, I mean the coast Guard came down,
- 49:01Speaker 6: swooped in, picked him up, and brought him back home.
- 49:03Speaker 6: But that's an incredible, incredible I can't, I can't. I mean,
- 49:07Speaker 6: first of all, that would never happen to me. That's
- 49:10Speaker 6: that's a that's a y'all thing.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I would no, no, no, I would have died. Yeah, I'm
- 49:16Speaker 1: just hearing you, hearing you say twenty five foot waves,
- 49:20Speaker 1: I just get motion sick thinking about it. I like,
- 49:22Speaker 1: I've I there's no way I could be in the Coastguard,
- 49:25Speaker 1: the Navy, anything involving water. I can't do it. I
- 49:28Speaker 1: get to motion sick. So I probably would have died
- 49:30Speaker 1: of throwing up somewhere at mile five, let alone. If
- 49:36Speaker 1: they did find me, my cooler would have been full
- 49:38Speaker 1: of vomit.
- 49:39Speaker 6: That's that's how they do find you, is like just
- 49:41Speaker 6: follow the trail of vomit.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's probably my only hope. That really what that
- 49:48Speaker 1: really is. I need to look this up to see
- 49:50Speaker 1: what kind of a cooler it was, because if it's
- 49:52Speaker 1: one of those high end coolers, then you've got an endless,
- 49:56Speaker 1: priceless amount of publicity for year a high end cooler,
- 50:01Speaker 1: Whereas if it's because I mean, those coolers can be
- 50:03Speaker 1: three four hundred dollars. Whereas if this guy survived in
- 50:08Speaker 1: a three dollars gas station styrofoam cooler, then by god,
- 50:13Speaker 1: you clearly you don't need to spend a ton of
- 50:15Speaker 1: money if you want to live through a hurricane.
- 50:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:18Speaker 1: But it's just like at the same time.
- 50:20Speaker 6: If it is one of those high end coolers, like
- 50:21Speaker 6: you have the cooler itself with the promotion, and then
- 50:24Speaker 6: you have the spokesperson, like you have the guy like
- 50:28Speaker 6: all he has to do is go on TV's Like
- 50:30Speaker 6: I was in the middle of the ocean. Thank you.
- 50:32Speaker 1: YETI I would not be alive today if it wasn't
- 50:39Speaker 1: for Arctic.
- 50:45Speaker 6: Yeah. I just can't even imagine just looking around three
- 50:48Speaker 6: hundred and sixty degrees and seeing nothing.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Uh so I'm seeing video of it.
- 50:54Speaker 6: Yeah, you can see the right.
- 50:55Speaker 1: A man who was found floating dozens of miles off
- 50:58Speaker 1: of Florida's Gulf Coast walk, cling to a cooler to
- 51:00Speaker 1: keep him afloat, was rescued on Thursday, according to the
- 51:03Speaker 1: Coast Guard. Officials said an air Station Miami sixty five
- 51:06Speaker 1: helicopter crew rescued the man, who was approximately thirty miles
- 51:10Speaker 1: off of Longboat Key, a town along the state's central
- 51:13Speaker 1: west coast.
- 51:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 1: I need to know what cooler brand it was.
- 51:25Speaker 6: If it just says circle K on the side.
- 51:31Speaker 1: I mean really like, this is this entire story nowhere
- 51:34Speaker 1: doesn't mention the brand. This is why people don't trust
- 51:39Speaker 1: journalists anymore. They don't ask them the big questions that
- 51:42Speaker 1: we want answers to.
- 51:43Speaker 6: Yes, we're not. We're not worried about the guy's life
- 51:46Speaker 6: who was just saved. Look that's fantastic, screw him. What's
- 51:50Speaker 6: the cooler?
- 51:52Speaker 1: Well, no, that's a serious thing because here's here's how
- 51:54Speaker 1: the press conference would have gone if I was involved.
- 51:57Speaker 1: So in the story, it says from the US Coast Guard,
- 52:02Speaker 1: Lieutenant Commander Dana Grady says, to understand the severity of
- 52:07Speaker 1: the hurricane conditions, we estimate he experienced approximately seventy five
- 52:12Speaker 1: to ninety mile p hour wins, twenty to twenty five
- 52:14Speaker 1: foot seas for an extended period of time to include overnight.
- 52:18Speaker 1: He survived because of a life jacket, his emergency position
- 52:22Speaker 1: indicating locator beacons, and a cooler. If I'm a reporter
- 52:27Speaker 1: in front of this person for the press conference, I'm
- 52:30Speaker 1: going to ask what was the brand of the cooler to.
- 52:34Speaker 6: The guy, to the guy who just got rescued?
- 52:37Speaker 1: Yes, yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 6: Everybody else is like, you know, how did you feel
- 52:39Speaker 6: out there? You know what kept you going? And then
- 52:42Speaker 6: they're like, uh yeah, mister O'Malley and they're like, yeah,
- 52:46Speaker 6: so what kind of cooler was it? That's the treehouse
- 52:50Speaker 6: for you, and don't you forget it.
- 53:00Speaker 5: We might have developed a relationship with that thing, like
- 53:02Speaker 5: Tom Hanks and Wilson, not only.
- 53:06Speaker 1: What what brand of cooler? But did you save the cooler? Also?
- 53:14Speaker 1: All right, that'll do it for the Treehouse today. Thanks
- 53:16Speaker 1: for hanging out with us. Be sure to check out
