- 0:00Speaker 1: With Stu Gotts and Hawkman.
- 0:02Speaker 2: So we're doing this episode with Stugatts and Hawkman while
- 0:06Speaker 2: I'm actually on vacation. I'm in either Switzerland or Milan
- 0:11Speaker 2: right now. But it got me thinking because I had
- 0:13Speaker 2: talked about this on my radio show with Crowder and Solana.
- 0:17Speaker 1: When you travel, do you go anywhere that's not touristy?
- 0:22Speaker 2: And I don't mean like to a neighborhood or whatever
- 0:24Speaker 2: I'm talking about, like, will you go like when we
- 0:27Speaker 2: went to Japan several years ago, we went to see
- 0:30Speaker 2: a baseball game at the Tokyo Dome. Right, that's not
- 0:33Speaker 2: a touristy thing that was. It was a Tuesday night
- 0:35Speaker 2: in Tokyo. It was all you know, Tokyo fans, baseball fans.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I like to walk into I mean everyone tells you
- 0:44Speaker 2: if you're going to Japan, you got to go to
- 0:45Speaker 2: seven eleven.
- 0:46Speaker 1: There're seven eleven's are ridiculous.
- 0:48Speaker 2: But any foreign country i'm in, I love walking into McDonald's.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I may not eat there, but I always walk in.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I want to see what Burger King has to offer.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'm fascinated with, like the normal everyday stuff. Our producer
- 1:06Speaker 2: on my radio show, Solana, he was in Puerto Rico
- 1:09Speaker 2: a couple of years ago, and subway, the subway sandwich
- 1:14Speaker 2: shops had pasta stations, really, and so I was like, oh,
- 1:18Speaker 2: we have to do a live report of you eating
- 1:20Speaker 2: pasta subway.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I like that stuff.
- 1:22Speaker 2: So when you travel, when you go overseas or anywhere
- 1:26Speaker 2: you know out of the ordinary, will you check out
- 1:28Speaker 2: fast food places?
- 1:31Speaker 1: I understand why you do it.
- 1:32Speaker 3: You want to see how theirs differ from hours, if
- 1:35Speaker 3: you have any additional menu items that kind of cater
- 1:38Speaker 3: to the area, you know, to where they are. I
- 1:41Speaker 3: don't do it, though, Like I just I went to Australia.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I didn't go into any of their fast food joints.
- 1:48Speaker 1: What, by the way, can I ask you a question,
- 1:49Speaker 1: why are Japan seven eleven so amazing?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Like I don't know when we started trying to avoid
- 1:54Speaker 2: seven elevens at all costs. If I go all the
- 1:56Speaker 2: way to Japan, I'm not walking into a seven eleven.
- 1:59Speaker 1: So google seven.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Eleven Japan and you will find out that they have
- 2:05Speaker 2: the freshest bread, the freshest pastries, the freshest sushi.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It is almost like religion there.
- 2:13Speaker 2: And I was told before we went to Japan you've
- 2:17Speaker 2: got to get these pizza puffs that they have at
- 2:19Speaker 2: seven eleven. And my son and I walked into several
- 2:23Speaker 2: seven elevens when we were in Tokyo and Kyoto and
- 2:27Speaker 2: they were always sold out, and maybe the final night
- 2:30Speaker 2: of the trip, we walked into a seven eleven and
- 2:33Speaker 2: they had one pizza puff left. To this day, this
- 2:37Speaker 2: trip is five years ago. It might be the greatest
- 2:40Speaker 2: food item I've ever had in my life, real pizza
- 2:43Speaker 2: puff at seven eleven in Kyoto. And I don't know
- 2:47Speaker 2: why the seven elevens are so great in Japan, but
- 2:50Speaker 2: they are great.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I'm looking at them now. They look fantastic, fantastic hours. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 3: there's over twenty one thousand in Japan. One of the
- 2:59Speaker 3: featured items is an egg salad sandwich. Now, I would
- 3:01Speaker 3: tell you normally in the United States, you would have
- 3:03Speaker 3: to pay me millions of dollars to eat an egg
- 3:05Speaker 3: salad sandwich from some but theirs looks delightful.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It really does.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Hawk Normally I'm avoiding tourist traps where I'm going to
- 3:14Speaker 4: a new city. But this was before I knew you,
- 3:16Speaker 4: and I was going to Chicago. Billy Gill had just
- 3:19Speaker 4: gotten back from Chicago, and I said, Billy, Hey, I'm
- 3:22Speaker 4: going to Chicago. Do you have any tips for me?
- 3:24Speaker 4: Do you have any things I have to see? He
- 3:27Speaker 4: gave me two recommendations, the Starbucks Reserve and the new telecafe.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Now you know who he learned from.
- 3:36Speaker 2: By the way, excuse me that Starbucks Reserve happens to
- 3:40Speaker 2: be great, and the Telecafe, I mean the line is
- 3:44Speaker 2: down the block.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I know.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean that's terrible advice. Hey, goody, Starbucks stuff. I
- 3:50Speaker 2: love that stuff. I'm like so excited when when we
- 3:53Speaker 2: were in Vegas a few weeks ago, I'm so excited
- 3:55Speaker 2: to go.
- 3:56Speaker 1: To the world's largest in and out burger. Yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I just love that, you know if now that I'm
- 4:01Speaker 3: thinking about it, when I go, you know, across seas
- 4:03Speaker 3: or to different places, I love to go to their
- 4:05Speaker 3: Barns and Nobles to see what books they might have
- 4:08Speaker 3: that possibly we don't have at our barns. And you know,
- 4:11Speaker 3: I'm a big reader. I'm a lover of book socket
- 4:13Speaker 3: so that's that's usually the first stop for.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Me, barns.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Funny, So do you know where I go every foreign
- 4:19Speaker 2: country that I go to, I go to a grocery store. Really,
- 4:23Speaker 2: I think the best snapshot of a society. And I
- 4:29Speaker 2: happen to love grocery stores. Taylor's laughing. I love public
- 4:33Speaker 2: I love We were in Aruba a couple of years ago,
- 4:37Speaker 2: walking up and down the aisles of an Aruba grocery store.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Like I just love that. We went to one. Obviously
- 4:44Speaker 1: in Tokyo we were in London.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I just love going to grocery stores cause you get
- 4:48Speaker 2: a real idea of and then there's always like an
- 4:51Speaker 2: American section, you know, like we have an ethnic section.
- 4:54Speaker 1: At publics or whatever. So you look at the American section,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you know.
- 4:57Speaker 2: All the bad food, big fatty bullshit butter laden bread.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But you're on vacation, and so this shouldn't be surprising
- 5:06Speaker 2: to me, because a vacation for you is strolling around
- 5:09Speaker 2: the groceries.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Time of my life, time of my life.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I will tell you this, though, Hawk, there are a
- 5:17Speaker 3: few things, and I do agree with you on this.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Now. I don't do this when I'm overseas.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I didn't, you know, when I got to Australia, I
- 5:23Speaker 3: wasn't seeking out the first supermarket.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But I will tell you when I'm home.
- 5:26Speaker 3: There are a few things in my life that are
- 5:28Speaker 3: better than a casual stroll through publics.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It is fantastic. Yeah, the best.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I stroll up and down the aisles and then I
- 5:38Speaker 2: cap it off with a trip to the lottery machine,
- 5:41Speaker 2: get a couple of cash pop tickets.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Will thin slice a turkey handed to your eyes?
- 5:46Speaker 2: I mean, tell me, tell me a better stroll than
- 5:49Speaker 2: when someone hands you a free thin slice of turkey
- 5:54Speaker 2: for seconds. I love checking out fast food places I
- 5:59Speaker 2: have picked, like but half my pictures from Tokyo are
- 6:02Speaker 2: like standing in a Wendy's way just not eating there,
- 6:10Speaker 2: just standing in a Wendy's. I just love what you
- 6:12Speaker 2: feel like you're at home.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Is that fair?
- 6:15Speaker 2: I like to see the differences, like I legitimately like
- 6:19Speaker 2: to see the differences like the I mean, they have
- 6:22Speaker 2: such obviously exotic items at all the places. They're not
- 6:26Speaker 2: exotic for the people there, but for me, they're exotic.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So that's become something that I do when I travel
- 6:33Speaker 2: is I like to visit the fast food places and
- 6:36Speaker 2: always get a kick out of it. Like you'll be
- 6:37Speaker 2: walking around, you know, Lucerne, Switzerland, and there'll be a Bennegan's.
- 6:42Speaker 2: You know that's just for whatever reasons left over from
- 6:45Speaker 2: nineteen eighty three, but it seems to be working there.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So I love. I love bumping into that stuff. I
- 6:51Speaker 1: like doing all the.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Touristy stuff, and I like, we like traditional vacation and
- 6:56Speaker 2: we'ld do some tours or whatever. But I absolutely you
- 7:00Speaker 2: want to stroll the cities and walk into the fast
- 7:03Speaker 2: food places, the grocery stores, the you know, the seven
- 7:07Speaker 2: eleven's or whatever their version of it is. I just
- 7:10Speaker 2: I love all that shit. I'm looking at me.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I'm looking at the Wendy's menu from Where's Mexico? Is
- 7:17Speaker 3: that where you said you were? No, I was in Japan.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Uh all right, let me go to that menu. I
- 7:22Speaker 3: have it right in front of you. I want to
- 7:24Speaker 3: see what's different. Oh my god, you're right, this is
- 7:27Speaker 3: fast amazing.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I mean they have this is a totally different menu
- 7:33Speaker 2: and a better one.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It's a better menu, yes, yes, a healthier one. Ah.
- 7:39Speaker 1: That Wendy's bacon eggburger though, yeah. Like here see that's
- 7:45Speaker 1: my that's my son.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Outside of KFC in Japan, let me see, I always
- 7:51Speaker 2: enjoy the.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Karioke burger looks fantastic. I gotta tell you.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I'm telling you they they really they go balls out
- 7:58Speaker 2: at these fourign country uh, these foreign country fast food places.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah now here. Uh this is just for the people
- 8:08Speaker 2: watching on YouTube. But I got this hot dog at
- 8:11Speaker 2: the Tokyo Dome or the baseball game. Yeah. I don't
- 8:15Speaker 2: know what what's on it. I don't know what that is.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Huh does it matter? It looks delightful. I mean it
- 8:20Speaker 2: was terrible. I took one bite and threw it out.
- 8:23Speaker 2: It was disgusting. It actually looks like something you get
- 8:27Speaker 2: from a seven to eleven year. I mean this was
- 8:31Speaker 2: on a menu somewhere frankforter on a bone.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So I didn't know that hot dogs have bones.
- 8:39Speaker 2: No, but at this restaurant, the hot dog had a
- 8:41Speaker 2: bone in it.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Nothing like a hot dog just dripping off the bone.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I'll tell you man. There was some
- 8:49Speaker 1: wh I just love all that wild shit.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And you see it like, you know, cause you're just
- 8:53Speaker 2: so used to walking into a McDonald's and it's gonna
- 8:56Speaker 2: have a big mac, and then all of a sudden
- 8:57Speaker 2: they have like like curly fry, like McDonald's curly fries.
- 9:01Speaker 1: How could you not.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Well, McDonald's fries are perfect as is so, but you
- 9:06Speaker 2: got to try the curly fries. You've never had him
- 9:08Speaker 2: before anyway, got me thinking because I'm I'm either in
- 9:12Speaker 2: Switzerland or Milan right now, probably having a icic cold
- 9:15Speaker 2: coke at a McDonald's right now in.
- 9:17Speaker 1: The heart of Milan.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Very hot day in Milan right now, and I'm having
- 9:22Speaker 2: an ice cold coat in the heart of Milan and
- 9:24Speaker 2: some some piping hot McDonald's fries. But we had this
- 9:31Speaker 2: just brings me apropos of nothing. I found this bit
- 9:33Speaker 2: and I thought it was funny. So Kellienda would come
- 9:36Speaker 2: on and he would we would put him in like
- 9:39Speaker 2: just ordinary life situations, and we had him going through
- 9:43Speaker 2: a McDonald's drive through, and I think it was al Pacino.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I can't remember who it is. You'll hear it here
- 9:51Speaker 1: at the beginning. So it was Paccino and Denio going
- 9:54Speaker 1: through together.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Perhaps it's several characters going through McDonald's drive through, And
- 9:59Speaker 2: what it evolved into was people calling in with their
- 10:04Speaker 2: own fakes going through a McDonald's drive through. There is
- 10:09Speaker 2: a easter egg here at the end of this too.
- 10:12Speaker 2: By the way, you're not there. It's this month time.
- 10:16Speaker 2: This was a show. You were off and so it's
- 10:18Speaker 2: just me and Dan and we're taking these callers. But
- 10:21Speaker 2: then the final caller is fake Stewgotts going through a
- 10:27Speaker 2: drive through. And when it's all said and done, I
- 10:30Speaker 2: want you to listen to it and see if you
- 10:32Speaker 2: can identify who the fake Stewgotts was. Okay, so here's
- 10:36Speaker 2: the bit of people going through the drive through.
- 10:40Speaker 5: I want I want those pull those McMuffin things with
- 10:43Speaker 5: the egg. It's an ag McMuffin. Check ass, think about it. Egg.
- 10:49Speaker 5: What's it called a McMuffin? I said, an egg McMuffin
- 10:53Speaker 5: with a sausage. Good job, now on to me. No,
- 10:57Speaker 5: I'm not done yet. I would also.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Lock it o J dude, guess what I'm in the
- 11:04Speaker 6: car to a nice fourth ball reference?
- 11:07Speaker 7: Oh, nice o Reenthal reference. All right, this is gonna
- 11:10Speaker 7: be Dave Kingman here. This is how we do it
- 11:13Speaker 7: around here. We try stuff, and we swing for the fences,
- 11:17Speaker 7: and very often we walk back to the dugout with
- 11:20Speaker 7: our head hung in shame. But we're gonna try this nonetheless.
- 11:24Speaker 7: Fake Elmo, can I take your order?
- 11:27Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 11:28Speaker 8: I never kicking.
- 11:30Speaker 6: I get from my love.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I love it.
- 11:41Speaker 9: No, get out of here, cookie monster, fake gargoyle you're
- 11:45Speaker 9: on seven ninety.
- 11:47Speaker 6: What was that you next to?
- 11:51Speaker 8: Are you something gives me? If I leave my car
- 11:54Speaker 8: and into.
- 11:54Speaker 9: The dining room, you'll find it in your power to
- 11:57Speaker 9: make me on the crew. Blood on your fangs is
- 12:05Speaker 9: better than the blood on your chin.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Any mcgriddle reference is always funny.
- 12:12Speaker 10: And then when you've got Gargoyle right ranting for a
- 12:15Speaker 10: mcgriddle because everyone's been there going to McDonald's and they've
- 12:18Speaker 10: stopped serving breakfast at like eight thirty.
- 12:21Speaker 9: In the morning, Blood on your fang is better than
- 12:25Speaker 9: blood on your chin. Fake movie phone, can I take
- 12:29Speaker 9: your order.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Like you were taking my order?
- 12:32Speaker 11: Heavy quarter pounder corn just the way up.
- 12:39Speaker 8: A lot of likes it.
- 12:40Speaker 11: Movie phone man, please be what or I will not
- 12:42Speaker 11: say any more of your movies? Did I have a orfe?
- 12:52Speaker 7: I don't know what to do with that swing, miss
- 12:55Speaker 7: fake ed kaplan. You're on seven ninety.
- 12:59Speaker 8: Before you my order, let me give you a few scores.
- 13:02Speaker 8: The Panthers go down four nothing to the Lightning. I'm
- 13:06Speaker 8: in the mood for mcflury.
- 13:07Speaker 4: You know.
- 13:07Speaker 8: Mcflury brings back a nice memory when I was at
- 13:10Speaker 8: front on number one Addia when a player highlight player
- 13:14Speaker 8: by the name of not Choskebar. He saw me give
- 13:18Speaker 8: me eye contact those a named mcflury, So that's what.
- 13:21Speaker 9: I want, Thank you, fake ed Kaplan.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Oh was that good?
- 13:25Speaker 10: I don't know how many people can appreciate that, but man.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Was that funny? Fake fake Pavarai.
- 13:30Speaker 7: You're on seven ninety.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Check and mcflo.
- 13:56Speaker 5: And oh.
- 14:03Speaker 7: It's the lord to do opera from yourself one A
- 14:05Speaker 7: nine ninety five.
- 14:06Speaker 5: That's what I'm thinking.
- 14:07Speaker 10: There's somebody driving their car down ninety five doing that
- 14:11Speaker 10: right now.
- 14:12Speaker 7: Uh think you'll be brown?

- 14:21Speaker 11: me a happy meal? And when you get the happy meal,
- 14:24Speaker 11: please make sure that inside there's a Hamburgler action figure
- 14:28Speaker 11: making a Grimace action figure, because when I was a kid,
- 14:31Speaker 11: I used to play with Grimace and Hamburgler Happy Meals
- 14:35Speaker 11: action figures all the time with my good friend Rory Sparrow.
- 14:38Speaker 11: Rory Sparrow and I used to play all the time.
- 14:42Speaker 11: It was great. Rory had a six foot wingspan, tremendous
- 14:46Speaker 11: upside potential, and he was a great nick.
- 14:48Speaker 9: Obaka fake mister Burns from the Simpsons.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Man, I take your order to a crank Oldberg.
- 15:01Speaker 9: You're on seven ninety the ticket, fake crank old Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 9: I want.

- 15:14Speaker 7: Fake James Brown, You're on seven ninety's.
- 15:19Speaker 5: James Brown and boogie is better in your mouth than

- 15:25Speaker 1: I think a cheese better with the nod fast.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Thank you?
- 15:30Speaker 1: All right, that's about it.
- 15:33Speaker 7: That'll about do it. Fake Stegotts is on the line,
- 15:36Speaker 7: finish us off. Fake Stegotts.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Hey, Ronald, buddy, it's Stegotts. At the end of the day,
- 15:41Speaker 6: I want eight nuggets? Can you recount the sauces for me?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Do you know who that was? Do you have any
- 15:51Speaker 1: idea who fake Stugots was on that montage? Can I
- 15:56Speaker 1: hear it isolated? By the way, I just want to
- 15:58Speaker 1: say this before I answer that.
- 16:00Speaker 3: It's always a pleasure to hear from the fake Paparatti,
- 16:03Speaker 3: but it is rare when he calls in and someone
- 16:05Speaker 3: else steals the show.
- 16:07Speaker 1: The fake ed kaplan was as good as it gets.
- 16:09Speaker 1: That great.
- 16:10Speaker 2: That may have been Mike Marshan, really, because he used
- 16:14Speaker 2: to do a grace to do it.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Yes, Ed Caplan.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I don't know if that was him or I couldn't
- 16:18Speaker 2: recognize it, but.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You have it, Taylor.
- 16:21Speaker 7: Fake Stu Gotts is on the line.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Finish us off.
- 16:24Speaker 9: Fake Stu Gotts.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Hey, Ronald, Buddy, it's Stu Gotts. At the end of
- 16:29Speaker 6: the day, I want eight nuggets? Can you recount the
- 16:31Speaker 6: sauces for me?
- 16:34Speaker 1: Do you know who that is? I think I did.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Who do you think that is? I think that was
- 16:38Speaker 1: our Fred Jim Fravola.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I believe that is the next athletic director at the
- 16:44Speaker 2: University of Miami. That is, indeed Jim Fravola, the president
- 16:52Speaker 2: of AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yes, and the man I believe will be the.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Next athletic director at the University of Miami. My former
- 17:02Speaker 2: college roommate, a very big listener of the Levo Dard Show.
- 17:05Speaker 2: But that is Jim Fravola doing a pretty damn good
- 17:09Speaker 2: impersonation of you.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Oh it was fantastic, Jimmy Free It's great.
- 17:15Speaker 2: So you're traveling anywhere this summer, No, you're not going
- 17:17Speaker 2: anywhere exotic. I'm meeting you in Milan tomorrow. It's McDonald
- 17:23Speaker 2: seven eleven.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Who doesn't want us walk the streets of Milan with
- 17:26Speaker 1: a with a mcflurry and feel like a local? Do
- 17:30Speaker 1: that here? Anyway? There you go.
- 17:35Speaker 2: There's a another rousing rendition with Stu Goats and Hawkman.
- 17:40Speaker 1: And uh, that's all I've got for you.
- 17:43Speaker 3: You want to close it out? We didn't do it
- 17:45Speaker 3: last episode because we're laughing.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Nicknames.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, here we go, traveling anywhere exotic. But me
- 17:52Speaker 3: Taylor going to Lake Tahoe in a couple of weeks.
- 17:53Speaker 3: You want to come with us next year, are you? Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 3: we'll golf. Yeah, why don't you leave that week open
- 17:58Speaker 3: next year and you'll join us? Okay, all right, fair enough,
- 18:01Speaker 3: I'm sorious.
