- 0:06Speaker 1: out of North Carolina and has gone on to become
- 0:10Speaker 1: one of the biggest names in entertainment. He has a
- 0:13Speaker 1: new album, Fathers and Sons, which is coming out just
- 0:16Speaker 1: before Father's Day, and I'm thankful to sit with him today,
- 0:21Speaker 1: my new friend, Mr. Luke Cone. Shine that light on me.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'll sit and tell you my stories Shine on me
- 0:39Speaker 2: And I will find a song I've been.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Singing since the first day That's galvanized, isn't it? It is.
- 0:54Speaker 3: You can really hear the nails go across it. That's
- 0:57Speaker 3: how you know it's got rivets inside of it.
- 1:01Speaker 1: That's like redneck ASMR. You know there's just some dude
- 1:06Speaker 1: who woke up in his trailer and he's trying to
- 1:09Speaker 1: quietly eat the leftovers without his wife hearing it. Hold on,
- 1:13Speaker 1: there is a guy.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Dude, and don't ask me how this comes across my feed,
- 1:17Speaker 3: but it's like Day 600 of me spraying dog medicine
- 1:21Speaker 3: on my hands till I can strike a match off
- 1:23Speaker 3: my knuckles. And I'm like, why do I care so
- 1:26Speaker 3: much about this guy striking a match off his knuckles?
- 1:29Speaker 1: But, dude, and at the end of every video, dude,
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's him.
- 1:32Speaker 3: And at the beginning he'll go, now there's a sensory
- 1:35Speaker 3: nightmare at the end of this video. And it's him going.
- 1:38Speaker 3: And it's like his sandpaper ass hands like going in
- 1:41Speaker 3: the mic, dude.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Dude, it's worth it. Here it is, dude. We've got
- 1:45Speaker 1: it up. Here it is, dude. Oh, he got one, huh?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Here it is. Wow, he's good at it. Dude, he's
- 1:51Speaker 1: sand in the wood with his hands, dude. Oh, wow.
- 1:53Speaker 3: My God, it's for real. He's real.
- 1:54Speaker 1: He's an instrument of the Lord, brother. Here's my question is,
- 1:58Speaker 1: what's the end....
- 2:15Speaker 3: Thing like what happens at the end like halfway is
- 2:18Speaker 3: there a two here it is dude dog medicine oh
- 2:20Speaker 3: wow now what is the dog medicine what do you
- 2:23Speaker 3: think the real function of that medicine is here it
- 2:25Speaker 3: is get some can we get some audio on this
- 2:28Speaker 3: guy's hands jack us in brother jack us into some
- 2:31Speaker 3: of this guy's hands.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Oh wow so this is a gentleman you can't see
- 2:36Speaker 1: him at home guys this is sort of a rubenesque
- 2:38Speaker 1: gentleman who is making his hands rougher and.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Then The sound is heinous.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It really is, dude. And then he just rubs them together.
- 2:48Speaker 1: He just rubs them together, dude. Yeah. Dude, he will
- 2:51Speaker 1: probably be the president in two terms. Here he is.
- 2:56Speaker 3: He's trying to strike a match, dude.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And here he is striking a match on his knuckle.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Now he can strike a match on his feet, which
- 3:03Speaker 3: is a feat in and of itself.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Yeah. That's a start, man.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It's wild.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Oh, God. We had a guy one night that came
- 3:13Speaker 1: to a show and he's.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Like, Hey man, me and my cousin, we love you.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And look at him. And he goes, he's missing 70%
- 3:21Speaker 1: of his skull. Right. And the dude had a cool
- 3:24Speaker 1: thing though, where if he like put his finger in
- 3:25Speaker 1: his mouth and went. Then the other part of his
- 3:28Speaker 1: head would kind of show up. Dude, that happened. Yeah, dude. Pikeville, Kentucky, brother. Dude,
- 3:36Speaker 1: that is wild, dude. You don't need all your skull
- 3:39Speaker 1: to party over there.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Dude, that is wild, dude. Dude, people are fascinating, dude.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Oh, we had a guy. We used to have a
- 3:45Speaker 1: really great, I don't want to say homeless guy, but
- 3:48Speaker 1: a guy who had Who was just kind of hadn't
- 3:52Speaker 1: been home probably in a decent amount of time. Unhoused. Yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 1: I would say unhoused. I think that's the, right, yeah. Yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and he, yeah. And he, but when he smiled, he
- 4:01Speaker 1: had a couple of his teeth in his hand that
- 4:02Speaker 1: I guess they'd fallen out or something. And when he'd smile,
- 4:04Speaker 1: he would still make the shape and he would show
- 4:07Speaker 1: you the teeth. You know what I'm saying? Like, it
- 4:10Speaker 1: was like. So he just had them. He just keeps.
- 4:13Speaker 3: That was kind of his party trick.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's helped me out. Like, does he.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Do you think he's, like, need money for veneers?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Ooh, I don't know. Now, that's the thing.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Here's the teeth that I need.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Just for proof.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Just for proof. I'm actually missing these teeth.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Just check my work here. Yeah, people are just interested.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I mean, dude, even, like, the places you'll stay. Like,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I stayed at a place the other night. Like, sometimes
- 4:38Speaker 1: we'll stay at some pretty nice spots, and sometimes... um
- 4:41Speaker 1: you know it's just a like an.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Outdoor when the doors are on the outside yeah you
- 4:46Speaker 3: know that you've arrived at a certain level of establishment
- 4:50Speaker 3: yeah that's and there's nowhere to go but down from
- 4:52Speaker 3: that that's the top level of.
- 4:55Speaker 1: That yes when there's doors inside.
- 4:57Speaker 3: And then as the doors get more and more open
- 5:00Speaker 3: yeah i went to we checked in one it's god
- 5:04Speaker 3: this had to be six years ago and we just
- 5:06Speaker 3: like you know we played a show somewhere columbia sacramento
- 5:10Speaker 3: And then we had a show in the Outer Banks
- 5:12Speaker 3: the next day. This is like van and trailer, no manager.
- 5:15Speaker 3: It's just me and the band. Like I'm trying to
- 5:17Speaker 3: check into the rooms and stuff. So we drove from Columbia.
- 5:20Speaker 3: We were supposed to play a tailgate at Clemson the
- 5:23Speaker 3: next morning. So we're trying to like get that in,
- 5:25Speaker 3: make an extra like $ 800, me and my guitar player,
- 5:28Speaker 3: and then get in the van and go play our show.
- 5:30Speaker 3: So we drive from Columbia to Clemson, a couple hours.
- 5:32Speaker 3: You know, the show is over at like 11 or 12.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So then we get to the damn hotel. It's, you know,
- 5:38Speaker 3: 2 in the morning. Checking all the rooms. I get
- 5:42Speaker 3: all the bangers in the rooms. And it's one of
- 5:44Speaker 3: these doors on the outside. And I go to my door.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Door's open, dude. It's already open. It's already cracked a
- 5:52Speaker 3: little bit.
- 5:52Speaker 1: This door's already talking shit.
- 5:54Speaker 3: And the lights are on in the room. And I'm like, man,
- 5:58Speaker 3: this is probably good. So pop in that room, dude.
- 6:02Speaker 3: And it looked like the cicadas came out of the room.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Really? Really.
- 6:07Speaker 3: It wasn't cicadas.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It was every bug known to man. Oh, yeah. Because
- 6:10Speaker 1: the doors are on the outside. It's been open for.
- 6:12Speaker 3: at since checkout which is at least 12 hours dude
- 6:17Speaker 3: with the all the lights in the room on go
- 6:20Speaker 3: to the desk and i'm like hey i like i'm
- 6:23Speaker 3: i'm an easy.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Guy i hate to complain but i can't sleep in.
- 6:26Speaker 3: A room full of bugs and they were like oh
- 6:29Speaker 3: we don't have any other rooms.
- 6:30Speaker 1: That was the last that's the last thing but there's
- 6:33Speaker 1: nobody in the parking lot no.
- 6:35Speaker 3: There's nobody there well it's more of a extended type
- 6:39Speaker 3: oh i see what you're saying stay i would imagine Yeah, if.
- 6:42Speaker 1: They have a blender in there, that's extended steak.
- 6:44Speaker 3: When there's anything to cook with, you've reached another level. Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 3: another level of hotel.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah, some hotels, there's one time I remember I called
- 6:55Speaker 1: down to the front desk. I was like, hey, do
- 6:56Speaker 1: you guys have internet? And the guy's like, let me check.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And I'm like, what? Let me check. Let me see.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Hold on. I haven't heard of that.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I'll get back to you.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But then I hear him. He's actually looking it up
- 7:11Speaker 1: on the computer. He goes to Google. Do we have internet?
- 7:15Speaker 1: Google search. It just, dude, one time we stopped in
- 7:18Speaker 1: Lexington and I went in to check in and it
- 7:21Speaker 1: was kind of during the pandemic. So people were kind
- 7:23Speaker 1: of on their wits end here and there. Sure. Sure. And, um,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you'd see people wearing neck braces for no reason, all
- 7:28Speaker 1: types of stuff. You didn't know what was going on.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Assorted medical devices. Yeah. Yeah. That was very assorted medical. And, um,
- 7:36Speaker 1: This dude, I go in there, and it took him forever, bro,
- 7:39Speaker 1: to just find out there's a room. And I was like,
- 7:41Speaker 1: is there anything I can do to expedite this? And
- 7:44Speaker 1: he's like, I'm sorry, sir. And then he goes, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 1: I used to be in a wheelchair. And I was like,
- 7:50Speaker 1: he used to be. Well, that's the thing.
- 7:55Speaker 3: So he's not currently in it.
- 7:57Speaker 1: No, and it wasn't like I was just out of
- 7:59Speaker 1: a wheelchair, like work with me here. It was just
- 8:01Speaker 1: like throwing something from the past, I think. Once.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I had a broken arm at one time. It's not
- 8:07Speaker 3: currently broken.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But it was. Yeah, excuse me.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Did he give you any kind of– so he's making
- 8:14Speaker 3: an excuse for just you.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Trying to hurry him up. There's no reason to hurry
- 8:18Speaker 1: things here.
- 8:18Speaker 3: He's like, hey, man, give me a fucking break.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I used to be.
- 8:21Speaker 3: In a wheelchair.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I used to be in a wheelchair. I was like,
- 8:23Speaker 1: I used to be in the fifth grade. Yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 3: It doesn't really matter that you used to be.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and keep the chair on. If you still are
- 8:34Speaker 1: in a wheelchair, if I notice somebody in a wheelchair,
- 8:36Speaker 1: I'm going to be like, I'm going to work with
- 8:38Speaker 1: you here. I'll even take a ride with you or whatever.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But if there's somebody who's like, yeah, I used to be.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But anyway, nice to see you, man. We fired right into.
- 8:51Speaker 3: The dog medicine hands guy fast, dude.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Do yeah that's some of that though stay in different
- 8:56Speaker 1: places i mean it's it's it gets it gets easier
- 9:01Speaker 1: to it's easier to rough it when you're younger dude.
- 9:05Speaker 3: For sure well once you haven't not roughed it right
- 9:08Speaker 3: like when that's when roughing it is the only experience
- 9:11Speaker 3: which was that's what it was forever dude i mean
- 9:15Speaker 3: in the van you know the 15 passenger van it's like.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Oh, you had that long boy, huh? Yeah, man.
- 9:21Speaker 3: But when we had back rows out and it's all
- 9:23Speaker 3: the gear.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 3: So it's less than 15 seats.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 3: But there's like six guys in there, all these amps, guitars.
- 9:31Speaker 3: It was a mess, dude. It was truly a mess.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I feel bad for some people now, though, like I
- 9:37Speaker 3: think of. Let's say you're a new artist. And let's
- 9:41Speaker 3: say you have a song that blows up on the
- 9:43Speaker 3: internet or whatever. And then you're just thrust into like.
- 9:47Speaker 3: this really like official version of yourself, even if you're
- 9:51Speaker 3: maybe not like ready for that.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Oh, I see what you're saying. Even if you just
- 9:54Speaker 1: have one or two songs, like you can have something
- 9:57Speaker 1: blow up so hard online.
- 9:59Speaker 3: And that you have to. get a label and all
- 10:00Speaker 3: this stuff and you it's not that that's sick dude
- 10:04Speaker 3: i'm glad that people have the capability to like to
- 10:07Speaker 3: achieve that for themselves now because that was something that
- 10:10Speaker 3: wasn't really achievable up until like maybe seven or eight
- 10:13Speaker 3: years ago i think yeah you miss so much of
- 10:16Speaker 3: like all those good memories from like the road and
- 10:19Speaker 3: like when it sucked and like playing bars and nobody's there.
- 10:23Speaker 3: And all my like favorite stories, man, from like my
- 10:27Speaker 3: music career, a lot of them are from that time.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Like from the like unofficial days, you know what I mean?
- 10:32Speaker 3: Like there's no, like the, like an unofficial biography, dude,
- 10:37Speaker 3: you know what I mean? It's like, Those are the days,
- 10:40Speaker 3: but I feel like people are missing that a little bit.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 3: If you just go right on the tour bus, dude,
- 10:45Speaker 3: there's no strife.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's all you know. That's a good point. It's kind
- 10:49Speaker 1: of like catch one hit or one melody that really
- 10:53Speaker 1: catches fire on social media, and then you can be
- 10:57Speaker 1: opening up for someone.
- 10:58Speaker 3: For sure. And then you go, that's your first experience
- 11:00Speaker 3: being on the road is I'm in a bus and
- 11:02Speaker 3: I play in arenas.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Wow. That would be super sick. Right, it's amazing, but
- 11:06Speaker 1: still it could set you up for some reality. What happens.
- 11:11Speaker 3: When you start way up here, and not that that's
- 11:14Speaker 3: all the way at the top, but if you kick
- 11:15Speaker 3: past people that have been doing it for 10 years,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden you're, because in country
- 11:21Speaker 3: there's a lot of these guitar.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Pulls and stuff where you like, let's.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Say there's three or four of us up here, we're
- 11:26Speaker 3: all new artists, we're all playing for this radio station thing, whatever.
- 11:30Speaker 3: It's like, let's say one of those guys makes it
- 11:32Speaker 3: to the thing, So let me just paint an example
- 11:36Speaker 3: of what could happen. You're a new guy or gal,
- 11:40Speaker 3: and you have a song that blows up. And that's sick, dude.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I'm pumped for anybody that that happens to. But all
- 11:45Speaker 3: of a sudden, you're at the same level of, let's say,
- 11:49Speaker 3: in the vacuum of this story, the new artist that
- 11:52Speaker 3: you're up there with is Chris Stapleton.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:55Speaker 3: And then you're sitting up there. You maybe have never
- 11:58Speaker 3: met anybody you're playing with. And they're like, all right, man,
- 12:01Speaker 3: this Chris guy is going to go first, and then
- 12:02Speaker 3: you'll play a song after him, dude. And he fires
- 12:06Speaker 3: into just the most singing-ass, guitar-playing-ass thing you've ever heard.
- 12:11Speaker 3: That guy's played a thousand shows, dude. And you're up
- 12:15Speaker 3: there going, I got to play after this guy. And
- 12:19Speaker 3: I have to do it five more times in front
- 12:21Speaker 3: of all these people. And he's going to just blow
- 12:24Speaker 3: the doors off. It's like you've entered your Honda Civic
- 12:28Speaker 3: that won a race in your neighborhood.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Against the guy driving a NASCAR.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It's so hard to compete against that. Yeah, dude. Oh,
- 12:36Speaker 1: no doubt. And your song has a dance that goes
- 12:39Speaker 1: with it. And it's acoustic.
- 12:41Speaker 3: So the version where the dance is cool is not
- 12:44Speaker 3: even the one you get to play. Because it's just
- 12:46Speaker 3: you and some guy that plays guitar you met at
- 12:49Speaker 3: a coffee shop.
- 12:50Speaker 1: But do you think, though, it could be a sign
- 12:52Speaker 1: of the way that things will be? I remember when
- 12:59Speaker 1: vloggers came out, right? And there were people vlogging. I
- 13:02Speaker 1: didn't even know what was going on. People were trashing it. Yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 1: people would trash it for sure. But those guys would
- 13:10Speaker 1: sell out. The vloggers would sell out comedy clubs around
- 13:14Speaker 1: the country. People would come and they would do Q
- 13:17Speaker 1: & A with their fans. And so that kind of
- 13:20Speaker 1: came out of nowhere. And then I just wonder if
- 13:24Speaker 1: the future is more Instant. Right.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Like, instant success.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Right. And no judgment of it. No, dude.
- 13:31Speaker 3: But just looking at it.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's just a sign of the times.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I think just from, you know, maybe in 30 years
- 13:37Speaker 3: or whatever, that's just, like you're saying, that's the only
- 13:39Speaker 3: way it happens.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:40Speaker 1: That's what I'm wondering. I wonder if things just evolve
- 13:42Speaker 1: where that's the only way.
- 13:43Speaker 3: But eventually, like, that thing will be monopolized by somebody. Like,
- 13:48Speaker 3: somebody will figure that out. It's probably already happening in
- 13:52Speaker 3: some ways. Either, I don't know, the powers that be,
- 13:55Speaker 3: whatever you want to call it. We'll figure out some
- 13:57Speaker 3: way to make this thing. Okay, here's the formula for
- 14:00Speaker 3: how you do this and how you break this. It's
- 14:02Speaker 3: probably already happening a lot, to be honest. And here's
- 14:05Speaker 3: how we do. We got a new guy. He looks
- 14:08Speaker 3: fucking really cool. So here's this cool song. And then
- 14:12Speaker 3: go sing this cool song, and that's cool. And then
- 14:14Speaker 3: they're like, great. And that guy's already signed this deal.
- 14:17Speaker 3: But everybody thinks, you know, what's the thing that people,
- 14:20Speaker 3: the conspiracy theories? Oh, that guy's an industry plant.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Like, that's not.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Thing i don't think dude like i don't think that's
- 14:28Speaker 3: a thing especially.
- 14:29Speaker 1: In like if you're like gonna look at like real
- 14:31Speaker 1: country culture like the industry dude people would notice anybody
- 14:37Speaker 1: that can uh button their shirt up correctly the.
- 14:40Speaker 3: First time yeah they'd be like this guy's gonna be
- 14:43Speaker 3: something Oh, yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Oh, dude, in our neighborhood, yeah, if somebody had gasoline,
- 14:48Speaker 1: people would be like, look at this narc.
- 14:50Speaker 3: They're like, look at this guy with his car over here, dude.
- 14:53Speaker 1: It's like, oh, you're working for the cops? That was
- 14:55Speaker 1: the biggest thing when I was growing up was always
- 14:57Speaker 1: accusing people of being narcs, dude. Somebody would get a
- 15:00Speaker 1: new pair of shoes and be like, yeah, Ronnie's a
- 15:02Speaker 1: fucking narc. Look at him.
- 15:03Speaker 3: He's working with the man, dude. He's obviously an informant, dude,
- 15:07Speaker 3: this guy.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 15:11Speaker 3: But though, man, it's definitely going to be, but then
- 15:13Speaker 3: it's like, where does it, I always wonder where does
- 15:15Speaker 3: it progress from there? Like, where do you like, when
- 15:18Speaker 3: that's the new thing, what's the next new thing? There'll
- 15:21Speaker 3: always be another like version of like, what's the way
- 15:25Speaker 3: to your path to like achieving your music dreams or,
- 15:29Speaker 3: or your comedy dreams or whatever it may be. Like
- 15:32Speaker 3: the path has ever evolved me.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Like, I think really the first, the first guy that
- 15:37Speaker 3: in country music that use social media to his advantage
- 15:43Speaker 3: was like Kane Brown and like probably.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Me yeah like the first guys.
- 15:48Speaker 3: That like came to Nashville we had kind of our
- 15:50Speaker 3: own fans going on like the internet helped us get
- 15:53Speaker 3: fans and then we came to town it was like
- 15:55Speaker 3: well these guys already got stuff going on so and
- 15:58Speaker 3: I'm in no way like shaming anybody that does that
- 16:00Speaker 3: because I was the first yeah one of the first
- 16:03Speaker 3: guys that like and I didn't even know I was
- 16:05Speaker 3: doing it dude like I wasn't now people are probably
- 16:08Speaker 3: smart enough to like They're doing that because they're smart.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I was just doing it because I was like, oh, well,
- 16:13Speaker 3: this will kind of– like I was like, you know
- 16:15Speaker 3: what I'm going to do is get all these followers
- 16:18Speaker 3: and sell them my songs.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Like there was never that. Well, you started on Vine, right? Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Was that the social media platform? Yeah. And that's the
- 16:25Speaker 1: thing too. It's like, yeah, you don't know where the
- 16:26Speaker 1: next social media platform is going to come. Right. This
- 16:29Speaker 1: is a crazy thing. And there's a lot of artists
- 16:31Speaker 1: out there like, man, maybe I don't find my– Way
- 16:34Speaker 1: with this social media platform. Right. But there could be
- 16:36Speaker 1: one about to be invented that's going to be the
- 16:38Speaker 1: one that fits you.
- 16:39Speaker 3: There's always something. Because what does it start with? It
- 16:42Speaker 3: starts with MySpace.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Right. MySpace. Facebook. Facebook.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Instagram.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Dude, remember they also had like friends. So they had
- 16:50Speaker 1: some other weird things that.
- 16:51Speaker 3: No, TikTok, wasn't it musically, musically?
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 1: It was before?
- 16:56Speaker 3: And it was only where people would like lip sync
- 16:58Speaker 3: to songs. That was the only thing. I remember seeing
- 17:01Speaker 3: it and I was like, man, this is a weird platform.
- 17:04Speaker 3: And they rebranded and it was the hugest thing ever.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Oh, wait, was that where people would do duets together?
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:09Speaker 1: No way.
- 17:10Speaker 3: That was TikTok. That was the original version of TikTok
- 17:14Speaker 3: was that thing.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I had like a secret account there, like a Finsta
- 17:17Speaker 1: account or whatever. And I would go and do these
- 17:18Speaker 1: duets with these Japanese people. It's a lot of Asian
- 17:23Speaker 1: singers on there, and there was always duets. You can
- 17:26Speaker 1: do it any time of the day with people from
- 17:28Speaker 1: around the world. Yep, yep. I mean, that's invaluable.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Yeah, musical.ly, musically.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Oh, that's a horrible name.
- 17:37Speaker 3: So they merged.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So they merged.
- 17:39Speaker 3: So TikTok was another, I guess, its own company.
- 17:44Speaker 1: They kept the name. When you have a B-flat or
- 17:47Speaker 1: whatever that is in your word of your name, dude, that's,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm out. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Not great marketing there, dude.
- 17:53Speaker 1: You know?
- 17:54Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know that's who.
- 17:55Speaker 1: That was, though. Yep. Because I remember when it came out,
- 17:58Speaker 1: I was like, man, this is, like, brutal, dude. This
- 18:00Speaker 1: is not going to. Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 3: They figured something out, dude.
- 18:03Speaker 4: For anybody who had the app already musically, it just
- 18:06Speaker 4: became TikTok. Like, I remember it was an old app
- 18:08Speaker 4: on my phone.
- 18:09Speaker 1: He had it, dude. He was ripping, dude. Yes, dude.
- 18:12Speaker 1: You were ripping duets, dude. Pull up some of your
- 18:14Speaker 1: duets on Musical.ly, dude. This guy's been babing all day.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Let's get those, dude. Let's get those going. Let's be honest.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Old popcorn lung in there, dude. He's... Well, now, is
- 18:29Speaker 1: it hard to make more... Is it hard, like, once
- 18:31Speaker 1: you've had... You've been real fortunate and had a great career, right? Oh,
- 18:34Speaker 1: my gosh.
- 18:35Speaker 3: The luckiest dude ever, yeah. Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And I didn't mean it like that.
- 18:39Speaker 3: No, I feel that way, dude.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Anybody who gets, yeah, it's like you get, obviously there's
- 18:43Speaker 1: a lot of good fortune that's going your way.
- 18:45Speaker 3: But I've, dude, I've thought this a million times. I thought,
- 18:48Speaker 3: before my last record come out, before the one before
- 18:51Speaker 3: that came out, I'm like, dude, this is the best
- 18:54Speaker 3: I'll ever be, dude. And everything I do from here
- 18:56Speaker 3: on out is just going to be bad.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 3: And it's like, I don't know why. It's human nature
- 19:01Speaker 3: to some extent.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that seems normal.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Because then when I put my last record out and
- 19:07Speaker 3: then the Fast Car thing happened, that was so unexpected.
- 19:11Speaker 3: It was not. Never in a million years did I think,
- 19:14Speaker 3: what will be the biggest song of your whole career?
- 19:17Speaker 3: Definitely wouldn't have a cover of Fast Car would not
- 19:19Speaker 3: have been.
- 19:19Speaker 1: On the list. Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Not because I didn't love that song, but like, I
- 19:23Speaker 3: really recorded it on kind of a whim because we
- 19:25Speaker 3: had some extra time in the studio.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:27Speaker 3: And so sometimes those decisions can be the best decisions,
- 19:31Speaker 3: you know. But I do think I'm like, man, well,
- 19:34Speaker 3: you know. I mean, I'm sitting here right now, and
- 19:36Speaker 3: I could tell you that today I've at some point
- 19:38Speaker 3: mulled over my, what happens next or what's my next thing?
- 19:42Speaker 3: And God's like, nobody cares, dude. And if I don't
- 19:46Speaker 3: do this thing, then nobody's going to listen. And I'm
- 19:48Speaker 3: just like, bro, I'm going to be playing for 120,000
- 19:51Speaker 3: people this weekend. And I'm still going, well, nobody cares, dude.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Nobody wants to see me or anything. And it's just
- 19:59Speaker 3: like I have to remind myself all the time of
- 20:01Speaker 3: like if I try to have this conversation with myself
- 20:04Speaker 3: is if I had the thought processes that I go
- 20:08Speaker 3: over with myself in my head now, If I had
- 20:10Speaker 3: them with myself 10 years ago, what would myself 10
- 20:15Speaker 3: years ago say? Because this will be my 10th year
- 20:17Speaker 3: in Nashville in September.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I see.
- 20:19Speaker 3: And so I go, man, well, I, you know, nobody
- 20:23Speaker 3: cares if I post this Instagram story and it only gets,
- 20:27Speaker 3: only 150,000 people liked it, which is insane. And it's
- 20:31Speaker 3: insane thought process.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. It's a lot of folks. But it's like.
- 20:35Speaker 3: But that's what I think to myself today. And I'm
- 20:38Speaker 3: basically like, well, did this post, did it do good?
- 20:41Speaker 3: And I'm like.
- 20:42Speaker 1: And if you feel like it wasn't, then suddenly you're
- 20:45Speaker 1: not good.
- 20:45Speaker 3: But, dude, 10 years ago, 150,000 people had never even
- 20:48Speaker 3: heard of me before.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Ever, dude.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Like, never, ever. And then, again, I'm like, also, I
- 20:53Speaker 3: got two little kids at home. And, like, my oldest
- 20:55Speaker 3: son isn't even two yet.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Oh, so he definitely is probably still eating for free
- 21:00Speaker 1: over there. Oh, yeah. He's not pulling his weight at all. Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 3: You know, a guy's got to get to work, you know?
- 21:05Speaker 1: I mean, it's time. They should have. It's time. I love,
- 21:08Speaker 1: I know there's a lot of play pens for children,
- 21:10Speaker 1: but how about a work pen? A work pen? We
- 21:14Speaker 1: don't need a lot of work in there, but.
- 21:15Speaker 3: It could just be like things that could be considered play. Yeah.
- 21:18Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 21:19Speaker 3: Like hit this nail into this thing. Right.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Some, yes.
- 21:22Speaker 3: But how do we get like chain mail gloves on
- 21:24Speaker 3: so that they don't hurt themselves? You know, like a
- 21:27Speaker 3: chain mail mittens for your child.
- 21:30Speaker 1: So you can have a Game of Thrones Halloween costume
- 21:33Speaker 1: on that. Absolutely. How do we get chain mail on
- 21:35Speaker 1: these children? Chain mail.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Chain mail children, dude. Dibs on that band name, by
- 21:39Speaker 3: the way.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Oh, that's a good name.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Chain mail children is sick, dude.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Chainmail Children is a good name.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Something on that, like, post-punk.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Chainmail Children.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Chainmail Children. That's what I'm going to see tonight. Basement East,
- 21:52Speaker 3: Chainmail Children, dude.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Are they playing tonight?
- 21:54Speaker 3: They're playing tonight, Chainmail Children, yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Oh, damn, dude. I heard about them. Where'd I hear
- 21:58Speaker 1: about them? They come to the show. You heard about
- 22:00Speaker 1: it on this past weekend. Oh, really? Yeah, and myself.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Was that it? Yeah. I don't know if that was it.
- 22:05Speaker 3: That was the first reference to their career.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Really?
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it was, yeah.
- 22:10Speaker 1: It was, yeah. Dude, I remember I went to– oh,
- 22:15Speaker 1: Marilyn Manson was the first show that I ever went to.
- 22:19Speaker 1: What was that like? It was scary, dude. How old
- 22:22Speaker 1: were you? I was 16. They played in a bar. Oh, man.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Maybe I was 15, 15 or 16 around there. You
- 22:28Speaker 1: say they like– The band or, yeah, like– Is there
- 22:32Speaker 1: a band? Is it like– Oh, is Marilyn Manson– Is
- 22:34Speaker 1: it just him? No, he has– So there's a band
- 22:36Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Like I've never seen the show.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point. Is there a band? Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: like you can't really think of like somebody being behind
- 22:44Speaker 1: that guy with a trumpet. Right. Like a march, like
- 22:47Speaker 1: a drum line. Yeah. Interesting. Who'd they have? They had
- 22:50Speaker 1: Twiggy Ramirez. I don't know who's still in it.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Oh, so this is like there's a whole, there's kind
- 22:58Speaker 3: of a persona to the band as well then, right?
- 23:01Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. The whole band was, I think, semi-deceased or
- 23:03Speaker 1: whatever is what they were going for.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Semi-deceased, another great man there. By the way, we got
- 23:09Speaker 3: to trademark all these, dude. Semi-deceased, opening for chain mail children.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Oh, that happens. That happens, dude. And there's mosh pit
- 23:17Speaker 1: training if you show up a half hour early, bro.
- 23:20Speaker 1: That was the best.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Safety training. How to stay safe in the mosh pit.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Dude, my buddy used to referee mosh pits, and he
- 23:26Speaker 1: would give them like 50 bucks a night or something.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Wait, so is there penalties? Like, is there laundry on
- 23:35Speaker 3: the field, dude?
- 23:36Speaker 1: Like, is he like, beep, beep, beep.
- 23:37Speaker 3: But hold on, dude. You hit that guy improper, dude.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Improper hit, dude. Is it like a bouncer situation?
- 23:44Speaker 1: No, I think, well, yeah. He's just like. He's just like.
- 23:47Speaker 1: He was the guy that's like.
- 23:48Speaker 3: But he wasn't like, don't hurt this guy. He was like,
- 23:51Speaker 3: just don't call on the stage.
- 23:52Speaker 1: No, he was. Stay away from the stage. No, he
- 23:54Speaker 1: was like, once the mosh pit got going, he would
- 23:56Speaker 1: kind of cruise in and out of it. Kind of
- 23:58Speaker 1: like keeping things cool. whistle sometimes a little flashlight.
- 24:02Speaker 3: It'd be sick to have a guy in there that's
- 24:04Speaker 3: just like you get a couple like lesser known ufc
- 24:08Speaker 3: guys and you just kind of put them in the
- 24:11Speaker 3: crowd and you're like dude just wreck people in there
- 24:14Speaker 3: you know i'm like if some guy's out of hand
- 24:16Speaker 3: just just just flatline this dude right in front of
- 24:20Speaker 3: everybody everyone's like man we should chill a little bit
- 24:22Speaker 3: you know.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Yes just make you just become your own policeman yeah
- 24:25Speaker 1: this is it okay oh, that guy didn't like some
- 24:27Speaker 1: of the other guy's behavior.
- 24:29Speaker 3: So that guy was, in theory, what your friend was,
- 24:32Speaker 3: what I just said. You go in and just jaw
- 24:35Speaker 3: a guy and make an example out of somebody.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I love that, dude. What a gig, dude. $ 50?
- 24:41Speaker 3: That seems underpaid for that thing a little bit, dude.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I think, yeah, they might have been some fiscal discrepancies
- 24:49Speaker 1: over there. You know, I've had some bad habits. And
- 24:53Speaker 1: I've tried to kick them and sometimes I'll go a
- 24:56Speaker 1: few weeks and I'm doing well and sometimes I have
- 24:58Speaker 1: a setback. You know, and it's true that 73% of
- 25:03Speaker 1: Americans have a bad habit or behavior that they find unhealthy. Well, fortunately,
- 25:10Speaker 1: there is fume. That's right. Fume works through a passive
- 25:15Speaker 1: diffusion system that uses no electronics, vapor, or combustion, just
- 25:21Speaker 1: natural oils. So you can use it outdoors and indoors
- 25:25Speaker 1: as well. I like my fume. It kind of occupies
- 25:29Speaker 1: my mind, occupies my time, helps me get over cravings.
- 25:33Speaker 1: It's really good if you're a nervous fidgeter because it
- 25:35Speaker 1: comes with a calming anxiety magnet sort of contraption that
- 25:40Speaker 1: just takes your mind off of things for a second.
- 25:43Speaker 1: It looks pretty awesome too. It's kind of timeless looking,
- 25:46Speaker 1: kind of old and new. It's free of toxins. It's
- 25:49Speaker 1: totally safe. It has no nicotine in it. That's right.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Fume is not a vape. No vapor. You can use
- 25:55Speaker 1: it anywhere. No nicotine. It's not addictive. Non-toxic flavors. It's
- 26:00Speaker 1: a guilt-free alternative. It's its own thing. And it's given
- 26:04Speaker 1: me the best chance at battling my bad habits. So

- 27:17Speaker 1: be a cup, a big cup, wide one, And I

- 27:54Speaker 1: going to ask? I don't even know if I've even
- 27:55Speaker 1: asked you anything. Fathers and Sons, your new album is
- 27:57Speaker 1: coming up. Yeah. Right? That's wild, yeah.
- 28:00Speaker 3: It's like, you know, it's crazy to like, for the
- 28:05Speaker 3: sake of what it is, not having really talked about
- 28:08Speaker 3: it at all, really.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Is it, when you put out a new album, does it,
- 28:13Speaker 1: how tough is it to like, Cause like, you know
- 28:16Speaker 1: what your fans like kind of are people that come
- 28:18Speaker 1: to see you have a general idea. For sure. And
- 28:21Speaker 1: then do you, yeah. Is it spooky to like try
- 28:23Speaker 1: and change that, but also evolve for yourself? And then like,
- 28:26Speaker 1: who am I even becoming like that sort of thing? Yeah, man.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I think about that a lot, you know, going back
- 28:31Speaker 3: to when we were talking a little bit ago, like,
- 28:32Speaker 3: what do you think about yourself or your career?
- 28:35Speaker 1: What's next?
- 28:36Speaker 3: And it's, I've always, I've always said this to myself
- 28:40Speaker 3: was like, I want to like grow up with my
- 28:42Speaker 3: fan base. Like, You know, somebody that listened to me
- 28:45Speaker 3: that's been a fan of me, well, maybe it's been
- 28:47Speaker 3: 10 years, dude. I mean, I'm 34. So when I
- 28:50Speaker 3: was 24, I just moved to Nashville. I did have
- 28:52Speaker 3: some fans, not a lot, but some. And I meet
- 28:54Speaker 3: people that are like, dude, I was a fan, been
- 28:56Speaker 3: a fan since the Vine days, dude. You know, like
- 28:58Speaker 3: I still meet people that say that. And so if
- 29:01Speaker 3: you were a fan of mine then, let's say you were,
- 29:04Speaker 3: even if you were 18, so you were six years
- 29:05Speaker 3: younger than me. Well, now you're not 18 anymore.
- 29:09Speaker 1: You're 28.
- 29:10Speaker 3: You know, you could be 28. You could be married
- 29:12Speaker 3: with kids, whatever it is, like. You know, and there's
- 29:15Speaker 3: a huge part of me that I worry, like, well,
- 29:19Speaker 3: will I age myself out? Like, am I, does anybody
- 29:23Speaker 3: even want to hear songs about being a dad or whatever?
- 29:26Speaker 3: And it's like, I hope so. But, like, also, I
- 29:30Speaker 3: don't want to, you know, I felt like I could
- 29:34Speaker 3: go get with, you know, I'm I'm not the world's
- 29:37Speaker 3: best writer, but I'm lucky to be friends with a
- 29:39Speaker 3: lot of guys that are, I feel like. And so
- 29:42Speaker 3: I could go get in a room with them and write,
- 29:44Speaker 3: you know, something like beer broke my heart or, you know,
- 29:48Speaker 3: when it rains.
- 29:48Speaker 1: It pours.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Like I could try to recreate that time and time again.
- 29:52Speaker 3: And I, sometimes I like, I want to do that
- 29:56Speaker 3: because I selfishly, I'm like, well, that would make me
- 29:59Speaker 3: this or that would give me another big song or whatever.
- 30:02Speaker 3: But it's like, I've just been, you know, like I said,
- 30:05Speaker 3: I've got, I've got two boys that are under two
- 30:07Speaker 3: years old, man. So like my life is dominated by
- 30:10Speaker 3: the thoughts of like being there for them. And like,
- 30:15Speaker 3: you know, I want to be their dad first. And
- 30:17Speaker 3: so I, I, I had to like write this, I
- 30:21Speaker 3: had to do this project because it's the only thing
- 30:23Speaker 3: that's been on my mind. Like when I go get
- 30:25Speaker 3: in the writing room and someone's like, man, let's write,
- 30:28Speaker 3: Something fun, dude, and this up-tempo thing. And it's like–
- 30:32Speaker 3: it's hard to like get in that mindset because all
- 30:34Speaker 3: the things I'm doing is like– dude, like grilling dogs
- 30:38Speaker 3: and like– Yeah. Like playing in the kiddie pool.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Tickling kids or whatever, yeah.
- 30:42Speaker 3: But it's hard to like get in that like– the
- 30:45Speaker 3: mindset of.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Like, you know, yeah, you can't have tickle that kiddo
- 30:48Speaker 1: and have it be, uh, you know, chain mail children.
- 30:51Speaker 3: That's one.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And this is going to turn into fundraiser for kids
- 30:56Speaker 1: who have been abused. But, um, it's funny that you
- 31:01Speaker 1: say some of that. Cause I sat one, uh, one
- 31:03Speaker 1: day I was sitting with this guy that owns a
- 31:05Speaker 1: management company, um, for comedians and probably the biggest management company.
- 31:09Speaker 1: And he was saying, well, you want to grow up
- 31:12Speaker 1: with your fan base. You know, you want, cause they're
- 31:14Speaker 1: going to evolve. And if you just stay like this,
- 31:17Speaker 1: like not stay, but if you're kind of a, you know, they, they,
- 31:22Speaker 1: if you fail to evolve, then right. It can be,
- 31:24Speaker 1: you're just, you're not going to, it can become stale. Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 3: It's like, it just becomes okay, man. Well, I've, you know,
- 31:31Speaker 3: I mean, if, except for the one guy that's eating 10,000
- 31:33Speaker 3: Big Macs or whatever it is, you can't eat it
- 31:36Speaker 3: every meal, dude. I mean, not that they're not good,
- 31:39Speaker 3: but you want a little something like, The menu's got
- 31:42Speaker 3: to expand a little bit.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:43Speaker 3: And not that you can't come back to the classics
- 31:46Speaker 3: at some point.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. My mother would always get a McFish, I remember. McFish, dude.
- 31:52Speaker 1: And it always— Is that the pre-filet of fish? The
- 31:56Speaker 1: second she ordered it, I was like, I don't even
- 31:58Speaker 1: know her anymore. McFish, dude. Isn't that crazy? Yeah. I
- 32:02Speaker 1: didn't know they had it. She did it to kind
- 32:04Speaker 1: of be like— She was.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Evolving with her fan base, dog.
- 32:06Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Like— She was. We were
- 32:11Speaker 1: learning new stuff.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Yeah, you were learning new flavor of the week, dude.
- 32:15Speaker 1: He's a McFish guy. You know what I mean? But
- 32:18Speaker 1: she would get us to be quiet, and then she
- 32:19Speaker 1: would order the McFish. And I would be like, nobody
- 32:23Speaker 1: cares if we're loud while you order it. It's not
- 32:27Speaker 1: going to make us any not poor. It's not going
- 32:30Speaker 1: to make us.
- 32:32Speaker 3: The people at the window will think we have class
- 32:34Speaker 3: if you guys aren't screaming while I order this McFish.
- 32:38Speaker 1: You know what I mean? That right there, Luke, that
- 32:40Speaker 1: is exactly who my mother is. That is exactly who
- 32:43Speaker 1: she is. I've never been able to put it into words.
- 32:46Speaker 1: You damn kids, shut the hell up. Let me make
- 32:48Speaker 1: this right now.
- 32:50Speaker 3: And it's like little Theodore will have a junior children's meal.
- 32:59Speaker 1: And I'll have. She would get everybody out.
- 33:02Speaker 3: She's definitely not a shit ass who stole a bike
- 33:04Speaker 3: last week for sure.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And I'll have a McFish.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Like that was the classy. They're like, now is that
- 33:14Speaker 3: wild caught or is it farm raised? i'll take blackened
- 33:19Speaker 3: the blackened mcfish i'll.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Have yeah yeah dude blackened.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Oh it's wild caught dude it says no chance dude
- 33:30Speaker 3: that it's wild there is no chance.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Well luke now give them their chance look luke this
- 33:37Speaker 1: is probably legitimate information they have a jpeg with it
- 33:41Speaker 1: um Our fish sandwich recipe features a crispy fish filet patty.
- 33:45Speaker 1: That's the interest. Filet patty is a weird term.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Filet patty? Complete contradiction, dude, right there. That's like saying, dude,
- 33:54Speaker 3: this ribeye steak, that's now a hamburger, though. But it
- 33:57Speaker 3: was a ribeye steak at one point.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Yeah, this filet McNugget is really up to no good.
- 34:04Speaker 1: It says wild-caught Alaskan pollock on melty American cheese, and
- 34:09Speaker 1: it's topped with creamy McDonald's tartar sauce. Wow.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Next guest for the show needs to be a guy
- 34:14Speaker 3: that works on the McDonald's fishing vessel.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yes. Because we need a little bit of— The McCaptain.
- 34:21Speaker 1: The McSkipper, dude. Yeah, we need the McSkipper. Dude, we
- 34:29Speaker 1: should get to the bottom of fish. Is it really?
- 34:32Speaker 3: Like, can we find the guy that caught my filet
- 34:35Speaker 3: of fish, my McFish? He's out there, dude.
- 34:39Speaker 1: He's out there. He's in Alaska right now, dude. I
- 34:42Speaker 1: don't know if he's in Alaska. The salty dog.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Dude, that caught that McFish, dude, is out there.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I believe that the guy's ever been to Alaska. Wild caught, dude.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Wild caught, though. That's the part I'm not sure of.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I don't even know what we've talked about so far.
- 34:59Speaker 1: But it's about father and son. I know you have
- 35:01Speaker 1: some new children, right? Yep. And I know your family
- 35:05Speaker 1: moved here. I remember hearing you talk before on Joe
- 35:11Speaker 1: Rogan that your family had moved to Nashville.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Yeah, my parents moved to town.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah. How's that been?
- 35:16Speaker 3: It's been awesome. I mean, it's been an adjustment for them.
- 35:19Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Most of my life lived in.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Asheville, North Carolina. It's fun over there. Orange Peel. We
- 35:25Speaker 1: played over there before.
- 35:26Speaker 3: I love the Orange Peel, man.
- 35:27Speaker 1: It's a great place. That whole town is just... And
- 35:29Speaker 1: also the hillside. You could just roll off of a
- 35:33Speaker 1: building and end up in a damn different county almost. Yeah,
- 35:36Speaker 1: you could, dude.
- 35:38Speaker 3: But it was an adjustment period for... Especially my dad.
- 35:41Speaker 3: You know what I mean? I mean, all his buddies
- 35:43Speaker 3: lived there.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:44Speaker 3: But it's... I remember a buddy of mine telling me,
- 35:49Speaker 3: you know, I think it's just... you know, it's the,
- 35:51Speaker 3: it's the, like this whole dad's project is just all
- 35:54Speaker 3: these different thought processes that happen with, you know, excuse me,
- 35:57Speaker 3: the way my dad sees things and the way that
- 36:01Speaker 3: I see things now and the way I see things,
- 36:04Speaker 3: maybe what was his perspective when he was doing this
- 36:08Speaker 3: with me or, you know, what are my kids going
- 36:11Speaker 3: to think about me or how am I going to
- 36:12Speaker 3: be remembered by them? And I remember a friend of
- 36:14Speaker 3: mine who wrote on this project with me, he was
- 36:17Speaker 3: telling me, it was his dad's 70th birthday recently and
- 36:22Speaker 3: he called his dad and he was like, well, you know,
- 36:25Speaker 3: old man, how's it feel?
- 36:26Speaker 1: You know?
- 36:27Speaker 3: And he said, well, ain't no way around it, pal.
- 36:29Speaker 3: This is the ninth inning. And I just remember being like, God,
- 36:34Speaker 3: like what a thought, like what a, like, and it
- 36:37Speaker 3: was just like, I remember like ever, I've never forgot
- 36:41Speaker 3: that quote. And because, you know, I think that a
- 36:45Speaker 3: lot of the, you know, the, the struggles that, you know, my,
- 36:48Speaker 3: my dad had come in here or it was a
- 36:51Speaker 3: combination of like, okay, well he's moving on from, you know,
- 36:54Speaker 3: they lived in Asheville for 25 some years, dude, in
- 36:56Speaker 3: the same house.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Like raised me there and all these memories that are
- 37:00Speaker 3: left behind and friends that are left behind and everything that,
- 37:03Speaker 3: you know, has changed. And then also coming to terms
- 37:06Speaker 3: with the fact that you, that you, you yourself are
- 37:09Speaker 3: aging and kind of like, maybe that, that fear of
- 37:13Speaker 3: what's next or, you know, how long do you have? Like,
- 37:15Speaker 3: I can't imagine what that process is like, but that
- 37:18Speaker 3: quote stuck with me.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Did your relationship with your dad change after you had boys?
- 37:22Speaker 1: You have two boys?
- 37:23Speaker 3: I have two boys.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:24Speaker 3: And yeah, man, it became, you know, I had a
- 37:28Speaker 3: lot more, I had a lot more understanding and grace for,
- 37:33Speaker 3: you know, decisions that, that he made or, Things that
- 37:37Speaker 3: maybe I did that I didn't understand. Well, why is
- 37:40Speaker 3: he upset about this thing or why would this make
- 37:43Speaker 3: him upset? And I've had friends in the last couple
- 37:46Speaker 3: of years that have lost their dads and watching them
- 37:49Speaker 3: go through that. It's just this constant theme of that's
- 37:53Speaker 3: where we are in life. We're at this weird kind
- 37:56Speaker 3: of turnover point where people begin to lose their parents
- 37:59Speaker 3: and then you are– soon you will be the oldest
- 38:04Speaker 3: man in your family.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Which is a scary thought, even though I'm only 34,
- 38:10Speaker 3: but like, you're like, okay, well, if I'm 40, am
- 38:13Speaker 3: I like, I'm the oldest generation of maybe man that
- 38:17Speaker 3: my children will know.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:19Speaker 3: It's a weird thought. It's a weird thought. You know,
- 38:22Speaker 3: it's just like, it's a strange.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 38:25Speaker 3: It's a strange, strange time for sure. In a good way,
- 38:27Speaker 3: but it's just.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah. There's so many little phases you go through. Like,
- 38:31Speaker 1: like you, you know, you could be a son, a brother,
- 38:33Speaker 1: an uncle, a dad. You know, there's all, like, these
- 38:38Speaker 1: little roles and stuff that you have. And, yeah, getting older, like,
- 38:42Speaker 1: almost all my friends have children except me. I was like,
- 38:45Speaker 1: I got to get some damn children. But you can't
- 38:47Speaker 1: just be yelling that off your back porch, you know? Yeah.
- 38:50Speaker 1: So you got to actually have a game plan, too,
- 38:52Speaker 1: and get a spouse.
- 38:53Speaker 3: That would be a good strategy for sure, I think.
- 38:56Speaker 3: That'd be a good start for sure, you know?
- 38:59Speaker 1: That'd be a good start.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Good jumping off point, I think, you know?
- 39:04Speaker 1: What were some of the songs I listened to? Front
- 39:06Speaker 1: Door Famous. That's awesome. Yeah, I love that.
- 39:09Speaker 3: That one made me really feel something, you know? Yeah,
- 39:10Speaker 3: I was like, I love the whole thing, man. It
- 39:14Speaker 3: turned out we could, you know, I cut the record live.
- 39:16Speaker 3: So it was just like, we just cut it on
- 39:19Speaker 3: the floor. Like me, two different sessions, one, one evening,
- 39:22Speaker 3: we cut five songs. The other evening we cut seven.
- 39:25Speaker 1: And so when you say cut it live, like what
- 39:26Speaker 1: does that term mean?
- 39:27Speaker 3: So like, we would just like, well, let's say we're
- 39:29Speaker 3: in a room like this. and it's almost set up
- 39:32Speaker 3: like a show in the studio and then they just
- 39:34Speaker 3: hit record and play the whole thing down and like
- 39:38Speaker 3: that's what you're hearing you know we did that twice
- 39:40Speaker 3: for each song and then they went okay well this
- 39:42Speaker 3: one's better than the other one so that's the one
- 39:44Speaker 3: we're using so it's just there's no like when we
- 39:46Speaker 3: normally make a record you know It's not. It's more
- 39:50Speaker 3: of a timed. So I think, you'd have to fact
- 39:54Speaker 3: check me on this, but I don't think in some
- 39:56Speaker 3: ways that Stapleton gets the credit he deserves because he
- 39:59Speaker 3: records all of his records like that.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Wow. And it's so hard.
- 40:03Speaker 3: To do that, dude. You have to be, the artist
- 40:06Speaker 3: has to be so dialed in. Obviously, the musicians are
- 40:09Speaker 3: unbelievable anyways.
- 40:11Speaker 1: That's just one take. That's it. Yeah.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Or, and if you mess up, it's like, well, we
- 40:15Speaker 3: got to do another take now. It's not like, there's
- 40:18Speaker 3: no stopping and starting.
- 40:19Speaker 1: There's no mixing and matching.
- 40:20Speaker 3: There's no mixing and matching. It's all just top to bottom. Like,
- 40:25Speaker 3: you know, and I would do every record if I
- 40:27Speaker 3: could like that. I enjoyed that process so much. Cause
- 40:29Speaker 3: like the stakes feel high.
- 40:32Speaker 1: You know? Right. Feels like it just means something. Like,
- 40:34Speaker 1: Hey man, like I.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Gotta like bring something to this take dude. Like it's
- 40:37Speaker 3: not another sing this line six times.
- 40:40Speaker 1: And then if you package it together, right.
- 40:42Speaker 3: So it separates in a lot of dude. And I'm not,
- 40:44Speaker 3: I mean, with the Stapletons of the world, like it
- 40:46Speaker 3: separates the, the, the, you know, the, the strong from
- 40:50Speaker 3: the weak. Like if every record had to be recorded
- 40:52Speaker 3: like that, a lot of your favorite artists would not
- 40:54Speaker 3: be recorded.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? Like it just, it takes
- 40:58Speaker 3: such a level of talent and I'm not saying that
- 41:01Speaker 3: I have that. I don't want to sound like that,
- 41:02Speaker 3: but when you look at the world and the other
- 41:05Speaker 3: people that do that, And, I mean, the studio musicians
- 41:08Speaker 3: deserve so much credit, dude. I mean, those guys are wicked, dude.
- 41:11Speaker 3: I mean, it is unreal how good those guys are, man.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Such an underappreciated part.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I've never been a studio musician, but it looks insanely hard. Yeah,
- 41:20Speaker 1: it's really hard. And it's a lot of the best
- 41:22Speaker 1: people in the world, really.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I would say, yeah, a lot of the best musicians
- 41:26Speaker 3: in the world live in Nashville. I mean, without a doubt.
- 41:29Speaker 3: And not just country singers. We're talking bass players, guitar players, drummers.
- 41:34Speaker 3: And it's like a lot of them are guys that
- 41:35Speaker 3: unless you live in that super niche community, like you've
- 41:39Speaker 3: never heard of.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Some of the best drummers in the world, you've never
- 41:42Speaker 3: heard of them, but they play on every record that
- 41:44Speaker 3: you've ever listened to.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I know. It's kind of wild, huh? It's really kind
- 41:47Speaker 1: of wild the limitedness that we usually know about like
- 41:50Speaker 1: the people on stage a lot of times. Yeah.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Like the behind the scenes guys, dude. And even like
- 41:55Speaker 3: my guys in my band, like they're not even the
- 41:57Speaker 3: guys playing on the records, dude.
- 41:59Speaker 1: What? Oh, because you use a different group to.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Session players are a whole different thing than the studio guys.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Not that those guys couldn't be both if they chose to.
- 42:08Speaker 3: But most of the best session players are just session players.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I mean, they go.
- 42:14Speaker 3: I'm talking just below your mind. Your favorite drummer's favorite
- 42:18Speaker 3: drummer is a session player. Your favorite bass player's favorite
- 42:22Speaker 3: bass player is a session player. And those guys are
- 42:25Speaker 3: just under-thought of. If you go look at the credits
- 42:28Speaker 3: of any country album for the last 10 years, like
- 42:32Speaker 3: who's playing fiddle or who's playing dobro. It's the same three,
- 42:36Speaker 3: four cats, any instrument. I mean, there's three, four guys
- 42:40Speaker 3: of any instrument. That's like, that's the guy you call her.
- 42:41Speaker 3: That's the girl you call.
- 42:43Speaker 1: There was probably year round doing it, huh? Every day.
- 42:45Speaker 1: They're doing it every day. God, I mean, God, we
- 42:48Speaker 1: should have gotten into a different trade.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Those guys are there.
- 42:52Speaker 1: They're wild, man. That's what I'm thinking about. So good, dude. Yeah.
- 42:56Speaker 1: So yeah, I guess being like a pan, it's like,
- 42:59Speaker 1: you get to see like where all your parents, like
- 43:00Speaker 1: just things that they didn't do or that they couldn't do.
- 43:03Speaker 1: It makes a lot more sense. Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 3: I mean, there's so many things where you go, you know,
- 43:07Speaker 3: you think when you're a kid, right. Or my mom
- 43:10Speaker 3: or my dad did this thing and I would never
- 43:11Speaker 3: do that. You know, I wouldn't ever do that to
- 43:14Speaker 3: my kids or whatever. And, you know, sometimes those things
- 43:17Speaker 3: end up being like, yeah, man, I still would never
- 43:19Speaker 3: do that. And sometimes you go, oh, now I get.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Why we had to do that.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Why they did that thing. It makes a lot of
- 43:24Speaker 3: sense now. Like it, to me, it unlocks this. Some,
- 43:30Speaker 3: at least for me, it did, you know, it unlocks
- 43:32Speaker 3: some part of your brain that's inaccessible in some ways.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Like once the kid that's happened, dude, it's this whole
- 43:39Speaker 3: new level of like caring about something or loving something.
- 43:43Speaker 3: That's like, you know, it's not the same way you
- 43:46Speaker 3: love your wife or your husband or whoever you love.
- 43:48Speaker 3: It's a different kind of thing.
- 43:50Speaker 1: And you were shocked. It was that new, huh? Yes, dude.
- 43:53Speaker 1: It was just like, you know, cause you hear like
- 43:55Speaker 1: a whole new chord or something. Yeah.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Like all those cliches, dude, you hear about. Well, you
- 43:59Speaker 3: just wait to how fast it goes. And you know,
- 44:02Speaker 3: you just, you're going to find out.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Like all that cheesy shit.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 44:08Speaker 1: It's all true, dude.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Like all that stuff makes so much sense. Like when,
- 44:12Speaker 3: and all their cliches, cause they, people say all the time,
- 44:15Speaker 3: cause they're true.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:17Speaker 3: And it really is. It's really been a wild experience.
- 44:19Speaker 3: The juxtaposition too is weird. Like, cause I'm on this
- 44:22Speaker 3: tour right now and you know, people are like, and I've,
- 44:26Speaker 3: it's no fault to anybody, but they, a lot of
- 44:29Speaker 3: people don't really know what touring is like. So they
- 44:32Speaker 3: kind of assume like.
- 44:34Speaker 1: What it was. Yeah.
- 44:36Speaker 3: You ever see your kids, you must be gone all
- 44:38Speaker 3: the time. And I'm like, I'm home more days a
- 44:41Speaker 3: week than I'm gone or the same amount.
- 44:43Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Like I'm home like three and a half days a week.
- 44:45Speaker 3: I'm gone like three and a half days a week.
- 44:47Speaker 3: So that's more than most people that work 40 hours
- 44:51Speaker 3: a day get to spend.
- 44:52Speaker 1: It's a good point. At home with their kids, you know?
- 44:54Speaker 3: So like I get to, But it's such a weird
- 44:57Speaker 3: juxtaposition to go from. You go out, let's say fly to,
- 45:01Speaker 3: you know, Phoenix or wherever, and you play two nights
- 45:04Speaker 3: in the same stadium, dude. And the next day you're home, dude,
- 45:08Speaker 3: and you're just dad and there's nobody there. I mean,
- 45:11Speaker 3: we live in a two bedroom, two bathroom house. That's
- 45:13Speaker 3: 2100 square foot.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah. And the kids are what? General admission. Yeah, they're GA.
- 45:17Speaker 3: They don't even pay. Well, no, they just get them free.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Kids eat free, dude. So they just come in and
- 45:22Speaker 3: just take the place.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Over, dude. Dude, that would be the best tour you
- 45:25Speaker 1: could have if you had a kids eat free tour.
- 45:28Speaker 3: But, dude, sponsored by Ryan's Buffet.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Or Golden Crow, either one.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that would be the best. And they should
- 45:35Speaker 1: have a contest, too. What's the farthest somebody can hum
- 45:38Speaker 1: a McNugget and another kid catches them out, dude?
- 45:43Speaker 3: Like a beer Olympics, but it's buffet Olympics.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Just a McNugget. There's something so American about seeing a
- 45:49Speaker 1: McNugget go through the air.
- 45:50Speaker 3: You get a McNugget cannon. You can jam like a
- 45:54Speaker 3: hundred in a t-shirt cannon and just blast McNuggets out
- 45:58Speaker 3: into the crowd, dude.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Everybody's just catching them on their.
- 46:03Speaker 3: There'll be some good slow-mo shots.
- 46:04Speaker 1: It's like that Kiss cam with the McNugget cam. McNugget cam, dude. But, dude,
- 46:09Speaker 1: that's how it's going to get. I think if it
- 46:11Speaker 1: gets so bad where people can't afford to eat or whatever,
- 46:14Speaker 1: then they're going to be like— The concerts will be events. Yes.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Food will be how to get people to events. Got it. 100%, man.
- 46:22Speaker 1: That's the thing you're going to need. Yep.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Pay for the show, stay for the food.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 46:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Could you even imagine what a huge buffet would
- 46:33Speaker 1: be like at a freaking.
- 46:34Speaker 3: In a stadium? Like if it was every, like the
- 46:37Speaker 3: world's longest buffet, you know, is it like, it just
- 46:40Speaker 3: snakes through the whole floor.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Let's bring that up. Where is the world's longest buffet? Okay.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Let's take bets. All right.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I'm going to guess probably in like a Midwest, somewhere
- 46:51Speaker 3: in the Midwest.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Okay. I'm going to guess.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I don't know, by the way. I really don't know.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I'm going to go with a little bit more of
- 46:58Speaker 1: the orange Midwest. I'm going to say China, I think.
- 47:01Speaker 1: World's longest. So world's longest. World's longest because they are buffet.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Is longest or largest, is it different? Oh, it's a
- 47:09Speaker 1: good question. Biggest. Pennsylvania, dude. Wow. Not, is it Midwest?
- 47:18Speaker 1: I think it's upper Midwest.
- 47:19Speaker 3: It feels very Eastern Midwest.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Really? It's lower Dutch. I know it's, In 1962, under
- 47:26Speaker 1: maple trees, Mr. and Ms. Henry Martin sold produce along
- 47:30Speaker 1: the road. That was the beginning of the Shady Maple
- 47:31Speaker 1: Farm Market, according to Shady Maple. The largest buffet in
- 47:36Speaker 1: Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Shady Maple Smorgasbord.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Smorgasbord. There used to be a Smorgasbord in Hermitage when
- 47:45Speaker 3: I lived out there.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Do you remember that place? It was called... And what
- 47:49Speaker 1: is it? It's just a place to eat as much
- 47:51Speaker 1: as you can? Yes.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Well, I think, I believe, now this is big, big
- 47:56Speaker 3: English language guy, big vocab guy here. But I believe
- 48:01Speaker 3: a smorgasbord means there's a lot of different kinds of
- 48:04Speaker 3: food in one place.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Whoa, guy, that sounds insane. You know what I mean?
- 48:11Speaker 1: It's not like you're making stuff up.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Holy crap.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Literally knowledge. Let's see. What is smorgasbord?
- 48:17Speaker 3: Self-service luncheon or supper offering a large variety of foods
- 48:20Speaker 3: and dishes.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 48:22Speaker 3: From Swedish smorgasbord, a buffet meal.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Oh, it sounds great. Yeah, that's smorgasbord. So it's just
- 48:31Speaker 1: Swedish for buffet.
- 48:32Speaker 3: It's the Swedish version of buffet, dude.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yeah, why do they make it sound so crazy? Yeah, yeah.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I feel like everything you want to eat is just
- 48:43Speaker 1: Even that word has all– it seems like it has
- 48:45Speaker 1: a lot of calories in it, just smorgasbord. What was
- 48:50Speaker 1: your first car, Luke? Speaking of your car song doing
- 48:53Speaker 1: so great.
- 48:54Speaker 3: My first car I got was a purple Subaru Outback.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Used. Why?
- 49:01Speaker 3: A lady my mom worked at got a new car,
- 49:05Speaker 3: and she gave my mom a deal on it.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Dude, it was actually– Purple they had. Purple.
- 49:10Speaker 3: It was a deep indigo. It was a deep indigo.
- 49:14Speaker 3: It was much older than these versions you're looking at.
- 49:17Speaker 3: These are way newer.
- 49:18Speaker 1: This is probably a 2000.
- 49:20Speaker 3: And maybe a 99, 2001, 2000 type model.
- 49:27Speaker 1: There we go.
- 49:28Speaker 3: That's the one, dude.
- 49:29Speaker 1: There she is.
- 49:29Speaker 3: I mean, that's about the exact car.
- 49:32Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Now, about... Three months after I got it, totaled it.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Oh, come on, man.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Dude, and it had, I'm talking about, I didn't realize
- 49:42Speaker 3: how nice it was because it had leather seats, heated seats.
- 49:45Speaker 1: And I was like, but I was like, dude, I'm
- 49:47Speaker 1: driving around in this like mom wagon, dude.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Wrecked it. And then my parents got me.
- 49:53Speaker 1: A $ 500.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Dodge Neon that had been previously totaled.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Dude, look up a 2000 Dodge Neon.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Base level no automatic windows no automatic doors carpet.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Seats oh my god it's beautiful well.
- 50:08Speaker 3: Oh there she is dude probably that fourth picture on
- 50:10Speaker 3: the top it was probably my mother that's about exactly
- 50:13Speaker 3: what i was cruising.
- 50:14Speaker 1: My mother got a dodge neon and we used to
- 50:16Speaker 1: me and my brother used to go sleep in it
- 50:17Speaker 1: at night we go sit out there and sleep in
- 50:18Speaker 1: it and um it was beautiful i would like to
- 50:22Speaker 1: say that but also yeah it is crazy how they
- 50:25Speaker 1: will sell you in this country they will sell you
- 50:28Speaker 1: a Previously totaled. Yeah, this car has been destroyed.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Somebody out there has my totaled purple Outback right now.
- 50:37Speaker 1: That's like selling somebody a dead friend or whatever.
- 50:40Speaker 3: And they're like, yeah, but he's like, he's all good now.
- 50:44Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Like now it's cool.
- 50:47Speaker 1: But dude, that's in the past, bro.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 1: His death was in the past. You have to give
- 50:51Speaker 1: him a second chance. Going online without ExpressVPN. It's kind
- 50:59Speaker 1: of like when you leave your keys in the car
- 51:00Speaker 1: at the gas station. When you just, I'm going to
- 51:02Speaker 1: run inside, I'll just leave them in there. Most of
- 51:05Speaker 1: the time you're probably fine, but what if you come
- 51:07Speaker 1: back to see someone just cruising off in your whip?
- 51:12Speaker 1: That's what it's like without ExpressVPN. Why do you need ExpressVPN? Well,
- 51:18Speaker 1: every time you connect to an unencrypted network, which is
- 51:21Speaker 1: in a hotel, an airport, a cafe, your online data
- 51:27Speaker 1: is not secure. Any hacker on the same network can
- 51:30Speaker 1: gain access and steal your personal data. Super secure. That's
- 51:35Speaker 1: what you need to be and that's what ExpressVPN is offering.
- 51:39Speaker 1: It would take a hacker with a supercomputer and over
- 51:42Speaker 1: a billion years to get past ExpressVPN's encryption. It's easy
- 51:47Speaker 1: to use. Fire up the app and click one button
- 51:50Speaker 1: to get protected. I've used ExpressVPN. I'm thankful that I
- 51:55Speaker 1: use it and I'm thankful that I feel more secure.
- 51:58Speaker 1: especially these days, man, it's getting tricky. You can secure
- 52:01Speaker 1: your online data today by visiting expressvpn.com slash Theo. That's
- 52:08Speaker 1: E X P R E S S V P N.com

- 53:45Speaker 3: Talking just made me think of this, but two of
- 53:47Speaker 3: my best friends, dude, we play this game all the
- 53:51Speaker 3: time called Are You Garbage? yeah have you heard of
- 53:53Speaker 3: this i think there's an actual game they might need
- 53:56Speaker 3: an internet check or it's like are you trash or
- 53:58Speaker 3: something like that but there is no game it's essentially
- 54:02Speaker 3: just hey man like if you're in a group of
- 54:05Speaker 3: people you go hey if you are you garbage there
- 54:07Speaker 3: it is card game so we've we've played this but
- 54:10Speaker 3: now we have a list going on our phone that's
- 54:12Speaker 3: like hundreds of items long because we played the game
- 54:16Speaker 3: so much that we ran.
- 54:17Speaker 1: Out of stuff right and that said that tell people
- 54:20Speaker 1: they are garbage huh.
- 54:21Speaker 3: So it's, oh, Shane Gillis has played Are You Garbage,
- 54:24Speaker 3: it looks like. So we have, I was going to
- 54:26Speaker 3: pop in this. All it is is really a conversation starter.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Fodder. But all the ones we've come up with. Yeah,
- 54:32Speaker 3: rattle off a couple. So it's really just, it provokes
- 54:36Speaker 3: a conversation amongst friends.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Let's see, like, okay, like you take a tour of
- 54:41Speaker 3: a factory.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Are you garbage? Ooh.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Like it's all just little things like that.
- 54:49Speaker 1: That's a great question.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Where you're like- If you, let me see this one.
- 54:53Speaker 3: Attempting to light a fart on fire.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Garbage. If you're a woman, yeah. Yeah, I think, yeah.
- 55:00Speaker 1: If you're a guy, you're an industrial engineer. It's just ingrained.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Okay, let's see what else we got.
- 55:05Speaker 1: If you're a guy, you might be one of the
- 55:06Speaker 1: Wright brothers. I have no idea. I don't want to
- 55:09Speaker 1: stop your fire, but. Ooh, like. But, yeah, if you're
- 55:15Speaker 1: a woman and you're indoors, that's a hell.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Like having crackers as like a topping on like a casserole? Trash.
- 55:22Speaker 1: That's simply trash, dude. Yeah, dude. If you've ever crumpled
- 55:25Speaker 1: up a couple crackers.
- 55:27Speaker 3: And that's like your topping on top of your dish?
- 55:31Speaker 1: Yeah, dude. Also, if you use a lot of toppings.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Toppings are totally. Fixings, dude.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Fixings are a whole thing.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Why is this stuff making me die laughing? But yeah,
- 55:43Speaker 1: if you have that much fixings, dude.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Just we– so it's like trash to like buying merch
- 55:52Speaker 3: from a gas station. Like if you buy like a
- 55:54Speaker 3: clothing item from a gas station.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Non-ironically. Right. If you're like, yeah, I wonder what they got.
- 56:02Speaker 3: You're like, man, I bet they got something nice in here.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Like you ever hit a Love's?
- 56:06Speaker 1: I've never had a love for a spring collection.
- 56:08Speaker 3: There's a guy that's unironically thumbing through the shirts, and
- 56:11Speaker 3: he's like, dude, these are kind of fire. He's thinking
- 56:14Speaker 3: these are pretty.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Fire shirts, dude. God, some of these.
- 56:17Speaker 3: The trucking community.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of the trucking community, they're like, oh,
- 56:21Speaker 1: this shirt goes with that statue, and they'll always say that, too. Yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 1: They always have a lot of like, it'll be like
- 56:27Speaker 1: a dolphin unicorn, but single animal, merged animal. Yeah. It'll
- 56:32Speaker 1: be like merged animals. Yeah. That'll be the section. It's
- 56:37Speaker 1: like liger. Yeah, yeah, like liger. Like that. It's like...
- 56:42Speaker 1: Like a centaur. Yep. Centaur tits and horse body. Yep. Oh, dude.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Another regard is using the bathtub or a sink at
- 56:54Speaker 3: a hotel as a cooler. So like putting ice in it.
- 56:58Speaker 3: And then like filling, like putting your drinks in that receptacle.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Because if you don't use the shower at all, that's
- 57:06Speaker 1: the thing that. That's even worse. Yeah, that's.
- 57:07Speaker 3: So then what are you, you're not showering in lieu
- 57:09Speaker 3: of having.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Yeah, just some cozy cold drinks, cold pops.
- 57:13Speaker 3: It's a very spring break feel.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:15Speaker 3: I feel like to that.
- 57:16Speaker 1: What did we do, dude? We got a, well, my
- 57:19Speaker 1: first car was 84 Ford Escort. And somebody had. Oh,
- 57:24Speaker 1: it was beautiful. Well, it was pretty much semi-beautiful probably. Yeah.
- 57:28Speaker 1: And somebody had stole the passenger seat out of it, right?
- 57:31Speaker 3: Like this happened while you owned it. Or when you
- 57:34Speaker 3: got it, it had already been thieved.
- 57:36Speaker 1: When I got the vehicle, I had it for like
- 57:38Speaker 1: three days and somebody stole it. I think it was
- 57:40Speaker 1: the guy. I think he didn't want to sell the
- 57:42Speaker 1: whole car.
- 57:42Speaker 3: So he fenced it. He fenced the seat.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Yeah. He came in and was like, you know what?
- 57:48Speaker 3: I'm taking this back.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I didn't mean to.
- 57:50Speaker 3: Sell you the whole car. I wanted that seat out
- 57:52Speaker 3: of there, dude.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I forgot, dude. Hey, I forgot my wife told me
- 57:56Speaker 1: not to sell that seat. Yeah.
- 57:57Speaker 3: We had our first kid on that seat, and she
- 57:59Speaker 3: told me not.
- 58:01Speaker 1: That's a memento. It was an 84 Ford Escort, baby,
- 58:07Speaker 1: and I got, God, I paid $ 600 large for that thing.
- 58:10Speaker 1: What color was it? Which one?
- 58:12Speaker 3: What's the most accurate representation?
- 58:14Speaker 1: Gray. They only had, I think, of the 84 hardtop. Hardtop, dude. Dude,
- 58:20Speaker 1: I love how this.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Too clean 1984 Ford Escort, dude.
- 58:27Speaker 1: I'm saying hard top like there was any other fucking
- 58:31Speaker 1: top on that bitch, dude.
- 58:32Speaker 3: Like a drop top. Dude, you got some coin now.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Go buy an 84 Escort and chop the top off
- 58:38Speaker 3: of it, dude.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Get a convertible top one, dude. No, I think it's
- 58:41Speaker 1: supposed to have the top on it so you can
- 58:43Speaker 1: get safely to school. That's what I did in it,
- 58:46Speaker 1: but somebody stole my passenger seat I had for three days. Yeah.
- 58:50Speaker 1: So then the crazy part was you go pick a
- 58:51Speaker 1: girl up and they get in the car. In the back.
- 58:53Speaker 1: But they had to get in the back through the
- 58:55Speaker 1: front like it only had.
- 58:57Speaker 3: The front door.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:58Speaker 3: So then again, just, well, at least you didn't have
- 59:00Speaker 3: to flip the seat up.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so that part was actually nice. But then if
- 59:03Speaker 1: somebody wanted to be right by you, they'd have to
- 59:06Speaker 1: get right on their knees. Yeah.
- 59:07Speaker 3: So they could just, but it's like built in like
- 59:09Speaker 3: lounger though.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Kind of. It's true. They just want to sit in
- 59:11Speaker 1: the back and chill. For the girls. Like a king vibe.
- 59:14Speaker 1: For girls. Girls didn't like it. Yeah. Probably could see that. Yeah.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Girls are like, I don't know what's happening.
- 59:19Speaker 3: They were like, man, this car is like really trashy.
- 59:21Speaker 3: And you were like, no, it's cool, dude.
- 59:24Speaker 1: I love it.
- 59:24Speaker 3: I love this car.
- 59:25Speaker 1: God, dude. And I. And then one time it got
- 59:28Speaker 1: T-boned outside of this, I think, place called Isidore's or something,
- 59:36Speaker 1: some little sandwich shop, Iggy's or something.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Smorgasbord.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Smorgasbord. Smorgasbord. Yeah, Smorgasbord is fucking bird snacks, baby.
- 59:46Speaker 1: But yeah, so, and I got T-boned. And then after that,
- 59:50Speaker 1: I was dating this cute girl. But every time I'd
- 59:52Speaker 1: go to her house, I would try to hide the
- 59:53Speaker 1: car at an angle. It was so banged up now. Where, like,
- 59:57Speaker 1: almost the angle she'd walked and get in, she wouldn't
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: really be able to see all the damage. The damage.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: My Neon used to, when I would stop, the radiator
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: would leak a little bit. So, like, if I wasn't driving, like,
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: the radiator, like, there was a, it was like that, like,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: kind of that rubberized, like, top on the radiator tube there,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: and it had just the littlest crack in there. And
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: me and my dad, we tried to fix it a
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: million times, but it would get so hot that, like,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: no matter what you put over it, it wouldn't stick. Like,
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: all the best like lock type bond and all that
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: stuff like the heat would get it so it would
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: like spit stuff out of it and then that would
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: get on like the engine block and so anytime i
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: would stop it would just smoke a just a little
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: bit dude so i'm already like.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Spending my last two dollars really I was spending my.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: Last $ 2 buying fish tacos at, you know, Long John Silver's. Anyways,
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: I'm already embarrassed with myself. And then like, they're like,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: if there was anybody that you had seen, you're in
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: the drive-thru waiting to get your $ 2 tacos and your
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: car's like smoking. And they're like, dude, maybe. And they
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: look at you and you're 300 pounds, dude.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: And they're like, probably.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Shouldn't be getting these tacos, you know?
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Like, they're like, just fix the car, man. Like, dismiss
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: a couple tacos. Like, you're going to be fine.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: At a certain point, dude, you got to look at
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: the scale of justice.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Just do you need Baja fish tacos?
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: You don't, dude.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: It's like the McFish. You don't need it.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: You know what I mean? God, when she ordered it, though.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: And you would see other people in the distance look
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: over at us when she ordered it and shit. And
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I'd be so ashamed. I'd be like. But it was
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: wild caught, though.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: So it's fine.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know where they, it seemed like they,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I would say, yeah, it seemed like outdoor caught. Some
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: of it, it was kind of darker, some of the fish, but.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: Out and caught in nature would be like a better,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: caught in the wild, caught.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Out in the open. I think it said coerced, it
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: said on the side of it. Wildly coerced. I don't
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: know if this is a good fish or not. And
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: did you take any good trips recently, man? Have you
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: been anywhere fun? For vacation? For vacation? For vacation?
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Gosh, dude, I hadn't been, we hadn't been on like
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: a real vacation. And like me and the wife, I mean,
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: we haven't gone on vacation. I mean, we got two,
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: we have had two kids back to back, dude.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: So we're like. Do they sleep in y'all's room, y'all's children?
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: No, we have, we just, the youngest one, he just
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: left our room a month or two ago. So our
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: boys share a room right now.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Oh, that's fun, huh?
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: So it's, I mean, you know, if they were older,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I think it'd be fun. But I think now they're
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: just kind of like. how can I keep the other
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: one awake? Like they don't really know what they're doing
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: or why they're doing it. They just like, one of
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: them's always making noise and the other one's like looking
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: and like, Our one's like he can't even– like he's
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: just now able to kind of like pull himself up.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: So he's like a fall risk just all the time.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: He's like in the crib and he's like trying to
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: look at the other one because he's rattling the blinds. Right.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: It's like they're always doing something.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: It seems like a band that's on drugs or something. Yeah.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: It kind of is like that. Some of the stories.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: To think back on it, you know, some of our
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: guys have probably done some similar things on the road
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: at times, dude.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: You know? Oh, my God. But it's– we haven't gone–
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I mean we– Gosh, man.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I mean, I've been, it feels like I've been all
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: over the world in the last couple of years, but like,
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: that's just going on a vacation.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I know it's hard to find a spot and really
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: get in and be like, all right, let's go do it. Yeah.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: And it's like, it's weird too. Cause like, you know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: vacation for me is like getting to be home. Like
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: that feels like vacation to me.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: But then like my wife is home a lot with
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: the kids and stuff. So she does want to like make,
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: like get away and go somewhere and do something. And
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: it's like, You know, finding that time where, you know,
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: I don't feel like I'm traveling somewhere every week and
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: going back and forth.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Yeah, stuff can burn you up, man.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: You know, it's just– it's a wild thing, man, right now.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: We're just in this weird balance because of the kids
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: right now because they're so small.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: And there's nothing you can do. You have to take
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: care of them every day. 100%.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Like, I mean, that's– Wow. That's the number one thing, dude.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: I mean, there is no– you know, the kids don't
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: care about the stadium. They don't know anything.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: And do they rate you guys or anything?
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Like, how do you know– There is a complaint box.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Or, yeah, do you guys, like, get an email every
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: week from them? Like, how do you know how you're doing?
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: You don't. They're alive. If they're still alive.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: And kicking, dude, at this point, you're doing a pretty
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: good job.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: But there's not.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: There's not.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: There's not somebody that comes when they're, like, three years
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: old and gives you, like, a– A performance review? Yeah,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: just like somebody should. Well, you know what?
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: We were saying this when we had our first kid.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: We walked out of the hospital, and I'm like– Dude,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: we had this kid two days ago. And, bro, I
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: got to take a test to drive a car, dude.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: And they'll just give you a human life. Like, all right,
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: here you go. Don't matter who you are, what your
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: background is. There's no questions asked, really, dude.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Yeah. They're just like, hey, man, you'll be good, man.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Your parents figured it out. Oh, yeah. If you want
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: a mixed kid, they'll just hand you one down there
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: a lot of these places. I'm like, all right, this
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: is crazy.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: It's a wild west, dude. The kids thing is like.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: It's a wild west, man.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: It's like there is no, you know, I read all
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: the like, well, how to be a good dad.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: How to be a rodeo daddy or whatever. How to
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: be a, you know. Eight seconds with my son.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Yeah. The wildest 18 years of your eight second life,
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: It's like, but. yeah parenting and fishing you're like yeah.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Yeah yeah how how parenting is like noodling you know
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: it's like yeah it's just stick and pray baby you
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: know what i mean uh it's a wild ride man
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: but the the dad thing was was really fun to
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: do and that's just where my head's been recently and.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: And do you start to think like, hey, we got
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: to get this third or fourth or fifth child out
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: of the way now? Or do you start to strategize it?
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: I mean, the deadlines do feel looming, right? Like if
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: you want to have, you know, I mean, because every
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: time you have a kid, it's like it starts over.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Like the whole like, okay, well now it's like when
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: we don't have kids is 18 years from now.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Now now again right again we just restarted the clock
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: restart like going back.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: To jail kids.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Like a loving jail with other people you care.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: About like the best jail ever yeah it's like yeah
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: um it's like but it does it's.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Such a jail ever that's one of the songs on
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: the new.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: Album on chain mail children dude yeah the best jail
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: ever yeah work pen dude yeah.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: They should have the best jail ever.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: But I don't, and we think about, it's like, well, how,
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: you know, then you think about how close do I
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: want the kids to be to each other? Like how,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: you know, how does it, where it's, what's tour look
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: like next year? Is it going to be extra busy
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: or we have a light year? Like, it's weird to
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: think about that stuff. Cause at the end of the day,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: you're talking about like potentially like a person.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: That will be like a live doing like that. Well,
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: I have an entire life, you know? And so like,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: I don't know. I often wonder, you know, I often,
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: not fantasize is the wrong word, but, like, think about,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: you know, it just being, like, my kids' parents is, like,
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I almost worry about them, like, finding out what I
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: do in some ways.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: You mean dance at night? Yeah.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Like, we have, like, put on a nice vinyl, you know, dancing.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Wouldn't that be great if that's what you meant? Like, look,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I just don't want them to know.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: Then I dance, man.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: That's when I'll occasionally dance. Classically trained. Yeah, I'll dance
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: for their mother in the evening sometimes.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Big boy ballerina in the evening. You know what I mean?
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess. I wonder how kids, you know, because
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: it is so tough. You see so many kids that
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: are somehow traumatized or face some sort of like just
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: the byproduct of their parents being in the limelight, especially maybe,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: I don't know if especially in music, maybe not especially,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: but just in the limelight.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I think about it a lot, you know, because
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: I go, you know, I don't, like, and it's going
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: to sound weird. It's like you almost wish they could
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: just not know in some ways. And not because I
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: don't want them to know. That's not what I'm getting at.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: It's like I almost just want them to be, like,
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: naive to the whole thing for as long as is
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: humanly possible.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Like, I want them to, the only thing they're worried
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: about is, like, riding bikes and playing trucks and, you know,
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: riding around on the Polaris with mom and dad.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: I don't, but there gets to a point like, you know,
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: as soon as like school is looming, like, you know,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: I've got some other artist buddies that have kids and
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: they're like, well, you got to tell them or somebody
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: else is going to tell them.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: It's almost like telling your kids there's no Santa. Or something.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: But it's like the opposite of that.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: It's like the opposite of that.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Like telling your kids there is a Luke Combs. Right. Yeah.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: And it's like, I don't want them to like ever,
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: I don't want my kids to ever think of me
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: that way. Like, sure, I will.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Want them to be really that was good some of
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: his early stuff i like better but i still love him.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: The last couple albums were just garbage yeah once he
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: had us they just you know they just really stunk
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: you put.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Imagine if that happened to a kid where their dads
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: their sales weren't as good after they had children.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: And they were like, we have the– me and my
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: buddies have the golf theory, dude.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Once you start playing golf, it gets bad? No.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Well, for sure, I think, for me at least. But
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: it's– once, like, the great golfers, once they have kids,
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: it gets harder to maintain, like– because the amount of, like,
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: practice and stuff that they have to do– I mean,
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: I don't– I know next.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: To nothing about being a professional golfer, by the way.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: This is just a guy who watches golf and, like,
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: wishes that he could do golf.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I always pretend like something came up and
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: my friend's asking me to go play golf or something.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: You're like, sorry, man, I got to.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: I got to go do something. I got to go vote.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I'll even say that. Yeah, and they're like, what? And
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: you're like. You're like, yeah. Yeah, they're voting for the comptroller. Yeah.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: City comptroller. Just practicing for the big game in November.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Big thing.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: I was having a practice Super Bowl party tonight, so
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: I actually can't. I wanted to make sure the Super
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Bowl party would be good, but it's not. I have
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: a run through.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Did you, did you have, have you played the Super
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Bowl yet?
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: No. There hasn't been a country artist in the Super
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Bowl in a.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Long time. Who was the last one?
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: It was a, it was a big medley of people.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: I believe it's Clint Black, Travis Tritt, Shania, Tanya Tucker.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: It was like a bunch of country artists that did
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: like a big medley thing, I believe. Now there's been
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: a bunch of artists that have done the anthem.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: But as for the halftime show, there hasn't been one since,
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: you have to look it up, the mid-90s.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Reba McIntyre's coming up. The anthem, though. Oh, the anthem.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: The anthem.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: You mean like the actual halftime show.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Yeah. It's been, it only happened one time. Only one
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: time ever? Yep. Wow. That seems unreal, huh?
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: So it's Shania Twain, Gwen Stefani, and Sting. Okay, so
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: Shania was different than the, the other medley thing.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Right. So they had Shania twice. Yeah.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: So twice ever, I would imagine that at some point
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: Taylor Swift has to do it.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Oh, it's a good point.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: But I don't know if that would still be considered.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: I don't know if that would start as a considered
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: a country artist now.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Yeah. It's kind of universal. But like to think like
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: a guy like Garth's never done it. I know.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: A guy like George Strait's never done it. You know,
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: like so many of these guys.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I've watched Garth sing it. You know, have
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: you gotten to spend much time with Garth ever?
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: I have not a ton of time, but we've spoken
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: many times. Like, I took my band out to see
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: his show out in Vegas. I was out there. I
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: was playing, like, a private event, and it didn't start until, like,
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: 1130 or something, like, super late night. It was, like,
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: a birthday party thing. And so, you know, we got
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: to Vegas, like, in the morning. So I'm like, what
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: the hell do we do all day? So I start
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: looking stuff up and I'm like, oh my gosh, Gar's
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: playing and tonight he's doing his show.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Gotta see it.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: So I'm like, and the band, like I told the band,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: I was like, I hit my manager up. I was like,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: hit up Gar's folks and see if we can maybe
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: get some tickets. And, you know, so man, yeah, he
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: came in, dude. We got over there and dude, he
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: came in and said, hey, to the band. And like
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: the band had no idea we were going to meet him.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: At all.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: Cause like some dude, my band guys are like, and
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: it's a couple of them from Oklahoma and stuff.
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: So I love him. They probably love him. Drawings of him.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: And so a hundred percent they do. And, uh, but
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: he came in and taught everybody and got us great seats.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: They let us come in. Like, cause you know, those shows,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: they're like no phones or whatever. I think like a
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: lot of the Vegas stuff, you can't have your phone
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: or something.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, so. Yeah. Cause they don't want to, yeah.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I think they don't want anybody having their phone. To
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: like see, so they can't like record stuff. People sell
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: it like streams.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Vietnam. Yeah. All kinds of stuff. Yeah.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: So they let us come in like right when the
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: lights went down, they brought us in because like, I
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: was like, Hey man, I want to come, but there's no,
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: like at those theaters, there's not really like suites or
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: like backstage.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Right. You don't want to take away from that. Yeah.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: I'm like, Hey man, I just want to like, come in,
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: like just sit. This thing and, like, not, you know.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Yeah. It's weird.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: Like, I tell people, like, man, I don't really like
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: being the center of attention as.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: Weird as that is. Considering what I do. Yeah.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: It makes me, like, really uncomfortable. Like, when people make, like,
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: a big deal about me, like, being at stuff.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Oh, baby, yeah.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: And I'm just like, oh, gosh, man. Like, I don't
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: really try to not think about myself anymore.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's interesting, yeah, because if you start thinking
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: about yourself that way, I think it's almost better to
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: try and purposely not think of yourself that way. Yeah,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: for sure. Almost like, let me add in some things
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: that seem a little bit more normal. You know, I've
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: got this Cybertruck, and that has been kind of a
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: nightmare because it's fun to drive, but it's just too
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: much attention, you know?
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: I saw it.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: And then I'll be hiding in it, and I'll just...
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Do you like it, though? It's fun. Yeah? Yeah. But
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: it's quiet, too. It's like pixelated. It looks pixelated. Yeah,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: it feels like you just travel. Literally, it feels like
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: you'll press the gas and you'll wake up in damn August, dude. Yeah,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: you're gone.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: And it's like instant torque in those things, too.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: You are into the future.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: You could go zero to 60 in like two seconds
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: in that thing.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: In half a yawn, brother, you'd be over there. Damn,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: get you there quick, bro.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: I got electric Polaris, dude, and it's the same thing.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: It cooks, huh? Absolutely crushes it. But it doesn't smell
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: like gas, dude. My car used to have loose gas
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: in it. I remember when I was in high school. Yeah.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: My second vehicle, it was a Ford Jimmy. GMC Jimmy. Yeah,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: GMC Jimmy. GMC Jimmy. Actually, I think it was a
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: GMC Ford Jimmy. It was a- Kind of two cars
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: mixed together. It was a merger. Yeah. Of a vehicle.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Welded together vehicle. It was previously owned. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: Previously totaled.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: You know? Do you, are there parts of you that like,
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: because once you get to a certain level of just
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: being known, you can't, there's, you can never kind of
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: go back to some of those just like, it's weird
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: in life. Sometimes it feels like you'll be able to
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: go back and you can't. Right. You can't get back like,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Just how you felt at the time. Sure, sure. You know. Yeah,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: and it's like. I guess it's just life.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: Do you ever feel like, and I don't know much
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: about the world of comedy other than just being a
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: fan of it. But like, is you ever get sometimes
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: where you're like, man, you kind of like saw how
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: the sausage was made a little bit. And you're just like, man,
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: like you saw behind the curtain a little bit. You
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: know what I'm saying? Like, you've heard that.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Seeing behind the curtain? Seeing how the sausage is made?
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You know what I'm saying, dude.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: I do not, brother. Yeah, you do, dude. Yeah, you do.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: You've heard that. Do you mean like seeing how like
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: movies and TV and music are made? Yes. Oh, 100%.
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: You know, like if you saw how they made a
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: hot dog, you probably wouldn't want to eat one.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: A hot dog. You know what I'm saying? If I
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: saw how they make hot dogs, I would A, call
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Child Protective Services. Okay.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: But it's, I feel like sometimes the entertainment business can
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: be that way.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Oh, I agree.
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: Where you're like, man, I, you know, it just, it
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: loses that, like.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: It loses that thing, the magic.
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Like the shine or the. Yeah. Whatever is like, you know. Oh,
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: there's something wonderful about sitting at home just thinking like, man,
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: what it would be like to be on this thing,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: like the voice or like a show, you know, like. Sure, sure.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: But then you don't realize if you are on that,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: like all this, just like you see all the behind
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: the working. Yeah. So it's still part of a dream,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: but it doesn't have the same look as if you're just, like,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: just viewing it, you know?
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you lose, you just lose a little. Well, I just, like,
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: I can't even, like, and you may be this way with, like,
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: comedy and stuff, but I can't even, like, consume music
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: the way I used to. Like, I'm constantly, like, not
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: critiquing it, but I'm looking at it through a different lens.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Through business, more lens, different things like that. Yeah, and
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: I'm like, man, well, this is so good because this
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: thing and that. Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: And before it was just good.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Like the song was just good or the artist was
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: just good. It wasn't like, well, this guy is really,
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: he's playing this character or this girl is really great
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: at this one vocal technique thing. It's like you did any,
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: almost like when you don't know why it's good, it's better.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, dude.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: And now sometimes I'm like, now I can. You read
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: the ingredients now. Right.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, it's good because this thing happened
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: or that thing happened or, you know.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, things were, yeah, everything had a little bit more
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: magic in it before you knew what was going on.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's, you'd love to be able to kind
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: of get that, to be able to recapture that.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: You know, and there's moments, I mean, you know, I mean, dude,
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: it's still the best. I mean, we're still living our
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: dream in a lot of ways.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: You know, in almost every way possible I am, you know,
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: so I have zero complaints really about my life, dude,
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: but it's.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Just you want, you kind of like, You can't help
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: but evolve.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: You can't recapture that.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, you just can't. Yeah, you can never kind
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: of go back to where you were.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: That time, that, like the chase, like the being excited
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: about being where you are now. Yeah. That's half the
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: fun is like trying to get there and trying to
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: figure out how to get there and doing everything it
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: takes to get there is like a lot of the
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: enjoyment of the process.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Yeah. And yeah, they always say that, but you don't
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: really realize it while it's going on. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: And then all of a sudden you realize there's, you can't,
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: what you can't recapture it.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: You're like, dang. And I didn't. i wish i would
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: have bottled that up somehow this thing or done that
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: more do you think though like do you look at
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: because you've gotten to have a great trajectory just a
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: great career you just you know you've worked hard and
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: you've also been fortunate right yes very much so how
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: do does it get to be like well, what else
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: is there to shoot for? Kind of like, does that
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: kind of become a, and not like in a net,
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: like a, just curious, like how do you find a
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: motivation if you're, do you feel like it could be
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: a trap? Like, Oh, I don't want to lose motivation
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: here because things have gone so well.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, man. Cause you, you know, you kind
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: of get to this place where you're like, man, I
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: feel like I've done, you know, a lot of the
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: stuff that I feel like I can do almost like
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: as far as achievements go or whatever it may be. And, um, Yeah,
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: you think, you know, you have to do as much
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: work or more work than you've ever done to stay
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: in that place. As I said before, if you're doing
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: that amount of work, you're constantly moving towards a goal.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Right. Right?
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: It's like if you work all this time to climb
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Mount Everest and say it's so hard, you know, you've
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: got to cross the crevasses and do all these different
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: things to make it to the top. Well, it's like
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: once you get there, You need oxygen just to even
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: breathe while you're up there. And so it may take
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: a higher toll on your body to stay at the
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: top than it does to come back down or than
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: it did to even get up there. And so it
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: feels like it can have– there's somewhat of like a
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: hamster wheel feel to it. Like when you get to
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: the certain level because you're like, man, I'm working so
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: hard just to like compete against, A, the other guys
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: that are up here too– And all the other people
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: that are coming up to the top as well. Like,
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: you're like, you're doing all this work to stay. Well,
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: do I want to, do I have to continually try to,
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: you know, compete with this guy and this guy? And
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: there's other people going, we're coming dude. And we're ready
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: to just, this is Sparta your ass off the top
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: of this thing. If we get the chance.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: God.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: So there's like, it's like, there's, there's always that next,
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: but that's again, dude, it comes back to, to growing
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: up with your fan base and just growing yourself is
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: learning that nobody stays at the top forever. And it's
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: okay to not be at the top. It's okay to,
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: you know, you shouldn't be scared of the fall because you,
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: you can build these things in, in your life. These,
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: you know, these kind of, soft places to land being
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: your family, your friends, right. Things that really matter. The
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: things that when you're 80 years old, would you rather
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: have spent more time with your kids or made another
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: album that was successful? I felt like a lot of
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: people would, would choose be with your kids or, you know,
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: have gone on another trip with your wife or, you know, went,
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: you know, fishing with your dad again, or went golfing
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: with your buddies one more time, or, go hunting with
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: your friends or whatever. Like those are the experiences that
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: ultimately will come to be.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: The defining moments of your life.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Like your career achievements. Yeah.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: They're really great. And you should be really proud of it.
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: I'm insanely proud of everything I've done and I will
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: continue to work hard to be the best I can be.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: But I'm also not afraid of knowing that one day
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: people are going to be like, damn dude, that some
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: bitch is old, dude. You talk about washed up, dude. Like,
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: that's going to happen to me at some point.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Like, oh, look at him. Yeah, he's over there. Right.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: Look at this old cat.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Look at this. I can't. Yeah. Drinking gasoline or whatever
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: they'll say. Like, oh, that seems. Yeah. Guys, that's not
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: even him. That's just some guy that looks like Luke Combs,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: you know? There's a lot of those. Nobody's ever had
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: so many people look like him at one time on
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: one planet, I don't think. 100%. Bro, that's for sure.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: I mean, there is.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: I've got a, there's like a stat sheet thing. And
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: so not really a stat sheet, but there's like a,
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: if you're 5'8 to 6'8 and you're 200 pounds to
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: like 600 pounds and you have like the Amish style beard,
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: people are like, dude, you look just like me, dude.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: And that's male or female? 100%, dude.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: And they'll be in the meet and greet like, dude,
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: everybody says I look like you.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: Bro, you are 6'8.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: And you're like 180 pounds. You don't look anything like,
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: we don't look anything like each other.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: But there are some good ones though. There are some
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: good ones. But there's a lot of people that are
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: desperate to look like you as well. I think there's
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: a lot of people, oh my God, that's not you? Yeah.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: There's a lot of them, dude, that are good. There's
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: some really good ones out there, man.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: You've got to adopt one. Or how old did it
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: have to be to get adopted? Yeah.
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: Dude, this guy's doing kind of a promo shot here.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: I haven't seen a lot of these.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Yeah, some of the. That's like a remake of that
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: promo photo. That's like you and me merged in one.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: Look at the second one to the right. No, left, left, right. Yeah.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: That's my nose, your face, or somebody. I don't know
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: who that is. Yeah, there's a lot of closeted Amish
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: or Luke Brown. Sorry, or Luke Combs fans. Amish, dude.
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: A lot of closeted Amish.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: You think that closeted Amish is such an interesting.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Well, the craziest part is the one guy who, um, they,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: he was like, uh, there used to be a show.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: It was like Amish, something Amish, like something Amish. And they,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: this one dude kept like mowing his grass. He had
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: to use that old school cutter. This like the spinning
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: wheel thing. And he's like, This sucks. I was adopted.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: I'm not even supposed to be Amish, he said. I'm
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: not even supposed to be. Was it escaping Amish or
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: breaking Amish? Escaping or breaking, yeah. Breaking Amish. Yeah, and
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: he's like, I'm not even supposed to be Amish. I
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: was adopted. Like, damn, dude, sucks to be you.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Dude, I feel like Amish, that's a tough pull, dude.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: That'd be hard. Yeah, I think it would be. But
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: they don't get autism in their communities. There's a lot
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: of health benefits of being Amish. Yeah, look up the
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: health benefits of being Amish. Health benefits of being Amish.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: And you get... Think of the things that would be fun.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: I bet sneaking off and talking to a girl would
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: be unreal. Oh, it would be sick, dude. You'd be like...
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Like meet me over there in that area.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: Conscious behaviors are considered the norm.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: I guess. Less tobacco, less alcohol, less salt, more vitamin
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: and mineral supplements.
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: And by less, they mean no tobacco, no alcohol, right?
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure they're not allowed to have that.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think prayer, like praying fast is like kind
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: of their booze. I have no idea what that is.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I'm looking. I love this.
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Maybe just close the window. Dude, a phantom ad.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: There's this phantom ad that's playing right.
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: Now, dude.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: What will you guys do for Father's Day, man?
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Dude, so talk about how kids change your life. My
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: first son was born on Father's Day.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Wow, so it's his birthday.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: Well, it won't be every year his birthday, but same
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: like weekends. Or within a day or two, for sure,
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: every year.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Wow, that's cool.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: So I'm sure it will just be like, oh, yesterday
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: was Texas' birthday. And then the next day is Father's Day.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: And they'll be like, oh, cool, man. Like, thanks or whatever.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: Thanks for your sperm, yeah. Yeah, cool, dog.
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: Appreciate it. Like, yeah, we're going to get you something,
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: but we're all tired from, like, Texas birthday and stuff,
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: so we didn't get anything.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Like, you're tired from a two-year-old birthday? Right, yeah. You
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: have a problem. I mean, we're wore out, dude. Yeah, sorry. Oh, yeah.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: I remember one time buying drugs at a one-year-old's birthday.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: It was, like, one of the low points of my life.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: Did you buy it from the one-year-old? No, just an
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: associate that was there. Friend of his. Yeah. Friend of
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: the one-year-old's, dude. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he'd fallen in with
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: a couple two-and-a-half-year-olds.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I had a couple sidemen, dude.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: You know what I mean? One of them had taken
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: things to another level. Yeah, what else was I thinking about? Dude,
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I took a fucking– I took like a– one of
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: those like CBD gummies, something like that. My brain has
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: been rocked. Has it?
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: Dude, I took a straight-up CTE fall yesterday. Really?
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, for what?
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: I'm a little scrambled, dude, today, too.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Really? Were y'all swimming or something?
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: Yeah, we were pooling it, but we were in the yard,
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: like in the grass. Like, we had one of those, like,
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: splash pads out.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, those are nice, huh?
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: The kids were out, like, splashing around in it and stuff.
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: And I was wearing these, like, super dad, like, moccasin shoes. Like,
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: they're just, like, leather bottom.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: And they, so they literally don't have tread. Like it's like,
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: it's like walking on a, like marble on the bottom
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: of your feet.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Yeah. I've seen those. There's always seem like you're not
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: sure what this guy's going to be like when you
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: see him.
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: They're insanely comfortable, but it rained so much last couple
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: of days. So my yard is like, this is, I mean,
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: our house is from the, probably the sixties or something.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: So when they built the house, like there wasn't like
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: the same kind of like grading, um, permitting that goes
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: on now. So like, The house kind of sits on
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: this hill, but the back, it's just a small hill,
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: but the backyard is all kind of sloped down towards
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: the house. And then right before they built the house,
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: there's just a little bit more of a slope. As
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: to where now they would kind of have to grade out.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: Smooth it out. And smooth it out. Back then, those
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: bitches were a little choppy.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they were just like, whatever, just pop the house anywhere.
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: And so I'm walking down in the moccasins. My kid
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: was in a splash pad, dude, and he was like,
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: We got him this little slide, and we put him
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: down there, and it scared him, and he's crying.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, you're good, dude.
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: It's cool. I was like, do you want to see
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Dada jump in the big pool? Because we have a
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: little pool.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, you got to do a trick for a kid.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, man.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: He was like, dude, cheer him up. So I go
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: down the hill, dude, and I'm in the moccasins, and just, dude,
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: both of my feet just go. And I'm talking about, dude,
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: I hit the ground on my back, so the way
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: the hill is.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: Like the flushest you could ever hit something. Oh, wow.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: It was like my entire back hit the ground at
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: the same time.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: It was perfectly lined up. And just boom, and I
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: was just.
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: Like, I mean, I just remember sitting up and I
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: just sat there and my wife and my two kids
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: are behind me. I can't see them. I'm just like,
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: and I knew I was like, this could be serious
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: because my wife isn't even laughing. Like she wasn't like, hi,
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: you idiot.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: Like you fell.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: Like it was just, I just kind of sat there
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: for a second and was like, And just kind of processed, like,
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: am I, is everything fine?
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: Yeah, does everything feel chill? Like, am I cool?
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: Like, can I get up from this? And then my
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: wife was just like, you okay?
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, I'm good.
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: Just kind of, yeah. But it's kind of felt like getting, like,
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: you know, I played football in high school or whatever,
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: so it kind of felt like getting, like, just absolutely
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: blindside blocked, like, and just rattling.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: I mean, luckily the ground was soft because it was
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: so wet and stuff, but.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: I had just hit flush. There's moments as an adult
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: when you hit, when you get hurt and you're like, dang.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: You're like, dude. I'm not doing good. Yeah.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: You're like, man, this is 15, 20 years from now,
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: this would be.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: A huge issue. We would have a big problem, dude. Well,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: a lot of grandparents go missing even if there's like
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: just a slippery floor or whatever.
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: You have to get a skid steer out on me
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: in a couple of years from now, dude.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Dude, imagine somebody's opening a can of peaches to make
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: a pie or something. They spill some peach syrup onto
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: the ground. Pop Pop comes motoring through later. Oh. Okay.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: To get in here. To get him a couple saltine
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: crackers for his nap. He's got the moccasins on. He's
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: got the moccasins on, dude. Yeah, he's mocked up, dude.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: And he just slips out. And he just slips his
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: whole spine. ACL goes on the way. Both of his knees.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: And he just, oh.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's brutal, dude. I never, like yesterday, it was
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: the first moment where I was like, I'm good, but like, man,
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: this could have been like a not good situation, dude.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, it could have been
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: not good, dude. It's risky now, dude. You don't know
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: who's what. You just don't know what's going on. Slippery
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: out there in those markets. Well, it's just, what, what
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: did I see you had done? A gender reveal? Was
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: it something I saw? Oh, I've done a few.
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: Done a few. Yeah.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Do you guys get some big requests for stuff like
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: that all the time?
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: A lot of them are just like people in the
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: crowd will have like signs. Like, Do this gender reveal.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, my gosh.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: Like, you're there. Like, they're here, like, with the envelope. Like,
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: they've waited this whole time, dude. Like, I always try
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: to ask, like, what is it? What, you know, was
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: it your first kid?
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: What do you think it is?
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: I think we're going to go boy.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: Justin, what do you think it's going to be? Girl. Oh,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: that girl. That guy's a pervert, huh? Come on, guy.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: Massey, is this you on the sticks here filming this?
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: I'm nervous.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: I'm kind of nervous. It's like a big moment, you know?
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: Oh, for sure. If you find out if your kid
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: is going to be cool or not. Yeah, that's crazy. Oh,
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: that's awesome, though, dude.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: What if the kid, like, hated country music, like, later
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: on in life?
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: For sure, and uses that as a thing.
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: And that was their gender reveal? And you're like, dude,
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: I hate that guy's music. Stinks, dude. That guy did
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: my gender reveal? That was the plan, dude? That would
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: be brutal.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: But, dude, look, bro. At that time, we could be
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: online doing gender reveals on Cameo for people. You know
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Like, who knows? There's no way.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: That's a real thing.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: People do gender reveals on Cameo all the time now.
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: I saw one where they got the guy– I feel
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: like it was the lead singer of Sugar Ray to
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: break up with their girlfriend.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it was wild, dude.
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: There's some wild cameos out there.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: Dude, that's when Fly, remember that song? That song is
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: around forever, bro. Here it is, dude.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: Woman hires Sugar Ray for a man, dude.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Let's see it, dude. A lot of people are just
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: coming out of the closet now. It's adults just doing
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: gender reveals. People are like, what? Go back to work.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: This is crazy.
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: He looks like Home Alone's brother. Buzz, your girlfriend, woof.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: He looks like Buzz if Buzz got some facial reconstructive surgery,
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: I feel like. Dude, but what did he do? Nothing?
- 1:33:59Speaker 4: It looked like they were overdubbing it. We can watch
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: all the way through, but the news guys.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: Were just kind of talking over it. Oh, he broke
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: up with a boyfriend?
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: Yeah, he broke up with a boyfriend.
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: Yeah. To break up with her. So a girl hires
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: him to break up with her boyfriend.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: That's demon level. Yeah, it's pretty demon, man. That's demon
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: stuff there. I'm trying to think of the first.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: I wonder if it was like his favorite band, too. Like,
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: was it like uber personal?
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: Sugar Ray, you mean?
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: Was it like, dude, my boyfriend always loved Sugar Ray,
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: so I'm hiring the lead singer to bring up with him. Like,
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: almost just to make him like hate the band or something.
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: Like, was it really dark in that sense?
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: Like, if you love Doritos or whatever.
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: And you could hire Doritos to make up with you.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: And you could hire, like, Jerry Cool Ranch or whatever
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: to break up with your girlfriend. Or you wrote it
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: out in, like, bags of Doritos. It was like, we're
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: breaking up with you.
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: But, like, how did they decide on the lead singer,
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: Sugar Ray? Was it a question of affordability?
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: I don't know. It's a good question.
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: Are you like, hey, I was going to do Hulk Hogan.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Right, I was going to do Hulk Hogan, but... There's
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: a sale over here.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: There's a sale at Sugar Ray.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a sale at Sugar Ray for the next
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: 30 minutes. For the next 30 minutes.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: Breakups are half off on Mark McGrath's.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: God, that's crazy that that's even a thing now. It
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: used to just be Valentine's. Like, you sent somebody something positive.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: And now it's like, watch me ruin this lady's heart.
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: I love how he said, off the charts, but forever
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: in your hearts, dude.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: That's such a great line, dude. That is a good slogan, dude.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: That guy's looking beautiful. A lot of men, sometimes they'll
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: look so beautiful, they look like women sometimes, too.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: He's definitely aged gracefully.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Oh, he will be a hot chicken two or three years.
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: There's no doubt there's a lot of people, they just
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: run that gamut. They run the full circle.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: Yeah. It's not over here. It's this big circle.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: Oh, it is. Yeah, they're just spinning around. Oh, definitely. Oh, definitely.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: There's a lot happening. It's beautiful.
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: The hair is coiffed.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: It's good. The hair is good, man. So whenever you
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: start a new album, do you then have to go
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: tour it after? Is that kind of how it goes?
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: I think traditionally that's how a lot of folks do it.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: This album, it feels like in a lot of ways
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: non-traditional in the sense of like, It started out as
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: just kind of this, like, you know, wild idea of, like,
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: I had written a couple of these dad songs that
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: I really liked. And I was like, man, I feel like,
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: you know, these three of these songs are really great.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: I love them.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: But I was like, but I have to, like, choose
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: one if I'm going to do a record. Because, like,
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: you can't put a record out and then it's like, oh, there's, like,
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: three or four dad songs.
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: Like, we get it. Right. My gosh.
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: And I was like, whoa, would it make sense to, like,
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: To do something that's– I don't want to say side project.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: That's not the right term because it is me. It
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: is my stuff. But like I hate the word concept
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: album because like it feels like that's too smart for
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: something that I'm capable of doing.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Right. Like someone that makes a concept album to me
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: is like– Martians or whatever.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: A super like genius level musician and I'm not that
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: at all. But it's like a cornbread concept album.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: Okay. I like it. You know what I mean?
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: But it's just– I was like, well, if I made
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: a whole record of just these songs– You know, and
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: then I got– like a lot of my buddies, we're
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: all the same age. So they're having kids. So, you know,
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: they've got aging parents too. And so all these themes
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: are running through all of our lives. And so they
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: would start sending me little clips because, you know, they
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: knew I had kids or whatever. And so they'd send
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: me a star to something and I'd go, God, man,
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: I really love that. I'd love to, like, get together
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: and work on that or whatever. And next thing you know,
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: I end up with, you know, a whole record full
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: of these songs. And I was like, we should just
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: record these and, like, just do a project that's just–
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: So it's like it's my next record, I guess, but
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: it also doesn't feel like my next record, if that
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: makes sense. It's not like if you want to listen
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: to all my other records, it's not logically the next
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: step from where you would think that it would go.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: It's just kind of like where my life has taken me. Sonically,
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: it's very, like I said, we recorded it live, so
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: it's very traditional country sounding. Because it's all just live instrumentation.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: There's a lot of fiddle. There's a lot of dobro.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: It's very natural sounding.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: It sounds groovy. I mean, I'm willing to listen to
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: maybe six or seven songs or something.
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: But it's definitely got its own vibe to it.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: It. Always Leaving, what's that one? Oh, yeah, All I
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Ever Do Is Leave. Yeah. Oof, that's a hammer song, dude.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: God dang, brother. God, that song's brutal, dude. They're all
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: hard-mown eyes in my ass, dude. I definitely.
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: There.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: I've got some problems, but yes.
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: There's some good ones on there, man.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Sometimes I think it's easier for people to leave than stay, man.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: I see that. Some people, they just know they can't
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: change themselves, and so they'd rather leave somebody and eliminate
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: themselves from the situation.
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: Dude, that's crazy, man. Yeah, that's for sure, man. It
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: happens all the time, dude. It happens all the time.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: God, dude, when I... But, yeah, when I was a kid,
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: country music, they had this thing called Crying, Loving, or Leaving.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: You'd call the radio station. Okay. And you'd tell them
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: if you were crying. They'd be like, are you crying, loving,
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: or leaving? And you had to tell what was happening
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: in your life.
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: And then they would play a song.
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Dorothy Stole My Car Tires or whatever. Wow. And
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: then you'd be like, all right, well, you know, and
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: you'd be like, I'm loving. There it is, dude. It's
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: still there. Tell her this song. That was it. 107.7, Crying, Loving,
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: or Leaving. And that was it. You'd call in there,
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: and then they'd play some of them. You'd have to
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: wait and see.
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: Dude, that's wild. That's a pretty cool.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Title, though. It was pretty good, man. You'd tell them, yeah,
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: this is for Tiffany. She's passed on. And they'd be like, God,
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: I'm so sad. And you and Tiffany would be sitting
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: there howling, laughing. Laughing about it.
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: One of my favorites is the– some of my favorite
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: radio skits, the John Cena one, dude.
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking about?
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: Where he's just– They're spamming that lady with the WWE pay-per-view.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: With the phone?
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: It's like a phone call.
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: And it's some telemarketer.
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: Play it up. It's a long play, dude. Hello? I
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: have just one question for you.
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: Are you ready? Am I ready for what?
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: Who's this? Are you ready for this Sunday night with
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: WWE Champ Johnson? Dude, the music. And this goes on.
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: They continue to call this woman back.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: And she stays on there.
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: No, she hangs up a bunch of times. And they
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: call her back, dude. And she gets, she's like.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: We're not. No, there is not any chance in hell
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: that we're ever going to have wrestling in this house again.
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: But thank you.
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: Because the husband called and said, hey, my wife, we
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: bought this pay-per-view. And she, like our son destroyed something.
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: She got really pissed off.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: Dude, there's one they say, this spit-swapping make-out match, dude.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: It gets to the point where at.
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: The end, they skip to like.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: Dude, she gets pissed, dude.
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: She has an attitude problem. Yeah, keep y'all.
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: She gets mad, dude. Yeah, I'd say probably this mark somewhere.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: She needs to get some vitamin D probably. It can
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: mess with her cortisol levels. There's one where.
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: Hang.
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: Up the phone.
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: No, she hangs up a bunch of times and they
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: continue to call her back, dude.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: And then this lady has CTE, I think.
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: Are you talking about the one where they fake being
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: someone else or something?
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: There's a point where they get... And this lady, when
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: she picks up, she's like, stop, call my... And this
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: is like, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am. She's like, I have a
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: quick question. Do you support our troops? She's like, oh,
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: my God. I'm so embarrassed. These people had been calling
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: me or whatever, and they were like, and she was like, yes,
- 1:42:14Speaker 3: I support the troops. And she was like, because an
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: American hero needs your help, dude.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: It's a former Marine. And she's like, really? His name's
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: John Cena. Dude, she loses her mind, dude.
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: It's quite the troll, dude.
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: That's the shorter version, but it's got this weird video.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: Oh, the shorter version with one of those weird TikTok videos?
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: I know. Why do kids do that now?
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: Like, it's just like a video of them playing Grand
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: Theft Auto, but like the audio.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a video just going along with the videos.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: It just keeps people engaged without them having to do anything.
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: Dude, that's crazy.
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: It's like psychology level stuff.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it is. It's like, oh, watch this. Yeah, maybe.
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: You're like, watch this car bounce down the road, dude. Oh,
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: this is it.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: This is the one. All right, let's see it. Well,
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: this at least has the audio. So at the start.
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: Of this one is the audio. It's like the fourth
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: time they call her and she's like, hey, do you
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: support our troops or whatever?
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: But the videos, they're mine now. I swear to Jesus,
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: this is those wrestling f * * ks again.
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: Okay, good morning. Hi, I'm just calling this morning to
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: ask if you're a supporter of the United States military.
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: I apologize.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: We've been getting calls all morning.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: I apologize and yes.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: Yes, I am.
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: Great.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: Are you a supporter of the Marine Corps? Yes, absolutely.
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: Absolutely. Great, because a former decorated member of the United
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: States Marine Corps needs your support. And his name is
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: John Cena.
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: Are you kidding me right now?
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Dude, whoever did that prank, that's an elite level. I
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: guess at least no matter what, we could always just
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: make TikToks, you know?
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: Yeah, because all we need is like stock video game,
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: like mod a video game and just do stock videos
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: of a car like falling out of the sky.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Well, I've had a vision for years that it's going
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: to come down to everybody's going to be in like
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: gig economy and people are going to be like holding
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: each other at gunpoint to be each other's Uber fare.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: So to be like two Uber drivers, both of them
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: need to make money though. Yeah. She'll be like, you'll
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: be my fair. That's what it's going to come down to, dude.
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: I always think of iRobot when they're just in the floating.
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: I never saw it. No, WALL-E.
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: Have you seen WALL-E?
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I love WALL-E. You can watch it in Spanish, too.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: The Titanic.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: The space Titanic, and they're all in the chairs with
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: the VR headsets on, and they're.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: All like 800 pounds. I haven't seen it.
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: And I was like, man, it's. It's a terrifying potential
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: reality for you.
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: Do you guys use a lot of VR over at
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: the house? Dude, no. What?
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: Do I use a lot of VR, dude? What would
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: I be using?
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: What do you think would be happening, dude?
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: Buck hunting. This is the Wally visual here, dude. Muffin making.
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: I have no idea what it would be for.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: Integrated reality muffin making is what it is.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you could just point at the muffins and they'd
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: go into the oven. Yeah. It's just crazy. Oh, my goodness, dude.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: That would be so nuts if we had a VR,
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: like if your whole life was VR. Like Neuralink, dude. Yeah,
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: they just got the guy. You see the kid?
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: Yeah, saw the guy with the Neuralink thing.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: He could play chess or whatever. But it seems like
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: you can just play shitty games that they had on
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: your cell phone like 15 years ago. That's the thing
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: about Neuralink that seems so trash, too.
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: It's like just Minesweeper.
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just getting there. It's just getting, you know.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just missing a lot of stuff. A guy
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: paralyzed from.
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: Like he's playing Mario Kart.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Playing Mario Kart using a Neuralink brain implant. Yeah, I
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: would just.
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: That's pretty gas though.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean. You know. He could just look at
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: it and tell it what to do.
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: It's better than like not playing Mario Kart.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: That's true.
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: Because that's like the other option, I think, right? It's
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: like to not be playing Mario Kart.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I think. So that could be cool. Yeah, that's
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: a good point.
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: You know, if you couldn't do anything, playing chess would
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: be cooler than, like, not doing anything, I think, is
- 1:46:26Speaker 3: the alternate version.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but it seems like they just have a limited
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: amount of games and stuff. I don't know if I'd
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: rather Neuralink or just get a PS5 or whatever.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: Or just get a VR headset. Yeah.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: VR is crazy, though, man. You can, like, there's people, like,
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: having their own, like, guys will get a VR and
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: then they'll have their own family inside of the VR world.
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: even though they already have a family in their house.
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: I feel like people have already been doing that, but
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: just in real life, people have been doing.
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: That for some time. People have been cheating, but this
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: guy is doing it.
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: This guy is doing an even less admirable version of
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: cheating in some way, dude. If you could make cheating
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: even less admirable, it would be that version.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: Yeah, this dude's not even brave enough to go out
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: there and fucking cheat and use a little gas money.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: He's just. Yeah, he's just like cheating.
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: He's just like, shut up, honey. I'm with the other
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: family right now. He's in the living room. He's like,
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: he's just dialed in to the house.
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: Oh, my God. He's like, my other family's naked. It'd
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: be like, what are you talking about, dude?
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: Somebody brought one out on the road recently and that's
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: maybe been last year or something, but it was like this,
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: we had a bunch of our crew guys popped in
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: on or whatever. And it was like, you would get,
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: so essentially you'd stand in this, you know, just any
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: room or whatever, I guess.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: Anywhere is anywhere.
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: Oh, you could stand anywhere.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: So you have to like, you have the like thing
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: and you hit this button on like the elevator and
- 1:47:55Speaker 3: you get in the elevator and And then when the
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: door opens, you're, like, at the top of the skyscraper. Like,
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: when you open it, it's just the skyscraper. And there's
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: a wooden plank that comes out.
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: And is it windy or what?
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: Well, I don't think so. There's no way of knowing.
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: Unless we had a fan on. Yeah, you could turn
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: a fan on and get maybe the wind effect, you know. But,
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: do you like you so physically in the vr like
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: you have to like step out onto the plank like
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: and you obviously you know you're just like in.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: A room but it looks like half.
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: The guys like wouldn't get out of the elevator wow
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: and then we had one guy my buddy harp just
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: Went out to the end and he was looking down
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: and he was just like.
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: He just jumped. No way. I was like, bro, are
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: you good? Bro, I used to be in a wheelchair.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: I used to be in a wheelchair. That's what he's saying, dude.
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: He straight up jumped off the end, dude. Oh, that's crazy.
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: Full lunatic. If people, yeah, some people in VR are
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: totally people that they can't be in real life. Like
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: they should have said VR Amish or VR Starving. Amish Simulator.
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: Amish Simulator.
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: Amish Simulator would be so great. It's such a sick game, dude.
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: There you go in it.
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: Dude, you have to actually learn Pennsylvania Dutch to play
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: the game.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Already a thing, dude. Amish Simulator? Yeah, get in there.
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: See if there's any. A lot of times they have
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: fresh eggs. An hour and 40 minutes, dude? Yeah. Bro,
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: you think you can beat Amish in, what, 15 minutes?
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: That's true. Here it is, dude. You are lying to me, dude.
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: This is fully integrated Amish. Dude, yeah, if I meet
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: one more guy who wants to be Amish quickly, I'm
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: going to fuck. You got to work for it, dog.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Oh, that's awesome, man. And
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: this is Amish Simulator. Activated winner. But the thing about
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: being Amish, dude, imagine, bro, you get to sneak off
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: all the time and try to meet a chick or something.
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: Because you can't date, I don't think, until you're 30
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: or what? What's the age?
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: 30?
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: No way. They have severe dating issues. Yeah.
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: You can't date until you're 30?
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: How do they have? No, dude, that can't be right.
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: They have a bunch of kids.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: 16. Yeah, never mind. I was like, 30, dude. Wow.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: That is like, how did they survive this long, dude?
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: I don't know, man. That's crazy, dude. What is this?
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: Is this me in the VR thing? Oh, no.
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: This is the elevator thing.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: VR people always look... They always stand like they're completely naked.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: It just.
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: I do look very tensed. Yeah, you look like you're
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: going to get. I feel like they always think you're
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: about to get busted for a crime or something, too. Oh,
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: my God. That just scrolled 8 million.
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: I just turned it, and it just scrolled like 8
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: billion pictures that you found it.
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of alarming stuff on people's phones.
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: This says, dating among the Amish typically begins around age 16,
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: with most Amish couples marrying between the ages of 20
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: and 22. To find a prospective date, the young adults
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: socialize at functions such as frolics. Dude. I'm in.
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: That's going with smorgasbord, dude. Frolics.
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: Church or home visits, bro. That would be me, dude.
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: Home visits. Door to door. Where's the chicks, bro?
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: One of the most popular activities is the Sunday night singing, dude.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: That would be you.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: I'd be killing it at Sunday night singing.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: They would be. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: Sunday night singing?
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: They would get out the churn and get you out there. Milkmaids.
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: The final churn. That would be your band name. The
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: final churn, dude. Heaven's churn. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: Heaven's churn. This is a wonderful. What does it say
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: right here? Amish 365. Sunday evening singing with the Amish.
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: The buggies were lined up for an Amish singing in
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: Bell Center, Ohio. We happened to be camping, and we're
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: out enjoying an evening drive. All of a sudden, we
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: started seeing buggies coming from all directions, and we saw
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: them all pulling into a lane there.
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: They sure looked handsome.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: A lot of men in their Sunday best, they sure
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: looked handsome. They looked.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: What an interesting blog here, dude.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: They are a state of Amish youth culture, Sunday evening singings.
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: This is often where teenagers meet their future mates, make friends,
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: and just have some good, clean fun. Food is served, pizza.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Future mates is, like, gross.
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: Sounds very, like, primal, you know?
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: Yeah, future mates. What did you say, like, spouse or, like?
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: But I remember, dude, when I was growing up, we
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: grew up in a pretty small town, so it was
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: like you knew you were probably going to have to
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: marry somebody in town.
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: Somebody.
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: And they would even tell us that in school, I remember,
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: when we were in, like, second grade. You were probably
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: going to marry somebody. Yeah, they would, like, look around
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: the classroom. There's one other classroom that has kids in it.
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: You can look at some of them, but you guys
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: are— This is kind of the talent pool, you know?
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: This is it, guys. Yeah. This is kind of everything
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: we got going. And you'd be like, this is bad.
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: This is definitely— This is tough, dude. I got to
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: get out of here, dude, you know? This is pretty limited.
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: Do you manage your tours differently as time goes on
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: where you're like, okay, I want to do just certain
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: cities and just– or do you choose that or how
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: do you guys put that together?
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we've had– we've always had a long
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: strategy on how do we maximize this or that.
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: We have certain goals.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: Playing overseas was always a big goal for us, like
- 1:53:25Speaker 3: playing overseas consistently to the point where we feel like
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: we had really fostered a fan base that– could almost
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: be self-sustaining in the sense of like, you know, you
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: could go tour one year, you could just go tour
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: in Europe and then never plenty shows in the States,
- 1:53:41Speaker 3: you know, like so as to not burn every market.
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: If you go see me, you know, if I play
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: every summer in, you know, Tallahassee, well, it's like, if
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: that happens five or six years in a row, like
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: eventually people, everybody in that market's going to be like, well,
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: I've seen that dude.
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: So the idea is if I play, I don't know.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: Why I picked Tallahassee is such a random city.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: I don't even know if we ever even played there before,
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: but if like, if you pick that city and we
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: played there, let's say I played there.
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: In 2018. Right.
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: And then let's say, obviously that's a weird year because
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: COVID happens.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Or whatever, but it's okay. It's still a year. Yeah.
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: Let's say I play there in 2021. And then the
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: next time I'm going to play there is not till 2024.
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: So in those three years, so much will have happened
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: in my career that, I could have maybe two new albums,
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: a bunch more hit songs, and those people in that market,
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: they'll have only had the opportunity to see me the
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: time before. So they'll go, well, now I want to
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: hear this song and this song and this song, and
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: he never comes down here, so I want to go.
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: I just want to be able to tour at a
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: high level for a long time, and I think to
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: do that, you have to have a really long play strategy.
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: It can't be about well, how can I make the
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: most money this show this weekend and charge my fans
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: the most for tickets and do the most and sell
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: VIP things? I've never sold a meet and greet in
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: my life. That's a big point of revenue for a
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: lot of artists. And nothing against anybody that does that,
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: by the way. I just always felt weird about it.
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: The first meet and greets I ever did were $ 50,
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: and we donated all the money to a camp in
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: Georgia for children that have cancer.
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: Ever since then, we've never even charged for a meet
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: and greet. All you have to do is join the
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: fan club. and have tickets to the show and you're
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: entered into a lottery to win.
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: Oh damn. That's a good way to do it. Yeah.
- 1:55:34Speaker 3: Like, so you join the fan club and then you
- 1:55:37Speaker 3: just put in for whatever show you're going to and
- 1:55:39Speaker 3: it's completely free.
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: Oh, that's cool.
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: I come in the room, like do a Q and
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: a thing, take pictures with everybody. Like, and I just
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: feel like there's so much to already like pay for.
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: There's so like, there's t-shirts, there's beer, there's food, there's parking,
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: there's hotels, there's babysitters, there's tickets, there's, everything dude you're
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: charged at every turn yeah and the whole experience and
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: like i just want to meet people who came to
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: the show man like whether it's their first show or
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: their 15th show or whatever it is man like it's
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: just a way for me to like i just want
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: to say thank you to just regular folks who come
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: to my show man like because they are the only
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: reason that we have shows yeah like.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: Oh it's crazy to think that you can't figure out
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: a way to thank them all the time it feels
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: like you can never thank them enough.
- 1:56:25Speaker 3: Dude and like It really is. I think about it
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: all the time. Sometimes I feel like the fan is
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: the last person.
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: Thought about in the music business.
- 1:56:35Speaker 3: And that, to me, is really sad.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: Well, they just started. They're finally bringing sanctions against Live Nation,
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: I think. Can you look that up?
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: I saw something about this recently.
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: They're finally bringing sanctions against them or Ticketmat. One of them. Yeah,
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: I saw something.
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: About this on the news like two, three years ago,
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: but I don't know enough about it. But you're definitely right.
- 1:56:55Speaker 3: Hula definitely just saw something about that.
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: Yeah, the Justice Department is suing Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: What does that mean for concert goers?
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: Is it for, like, the fees or something, I think?
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: The Justice Department on Thursday accused Live Nation of engaging
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: in a slew of practices that have allowed it to
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: maintain a stronghold over the live music scene. They accused
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: it of using long-term contracts to keep venues from choosing
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: rival ticketers, blocking venues from using multiple ticket sellers, and
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: threatening venues that they could lose money and fans if
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: they didn't choose Ticketmaster. which in then they can jack
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: up the prices of tickets in.
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: So they own 70% of ticketing.
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: That's wild. That's unbelievable. That's a lot, dude. How do
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: you ever let that happen? It just seems like they
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: wouldn't let that happen. Did you ever go see Widespread Panic?
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: Never did, man.
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: So my best friend Harp, the guy that jumped off
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: the end, that's his favorite band ever.
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah, he loves them, dude.
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: But I've never been. I've never seen them.
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: I like them.
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: Dude, they jam, though. They jam, for sure.
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: Did you follow a jam band ever?
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: No, I never followed a jam band around.
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: Damn, dude, really? Never followed around the country. God damn,
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: you're fucking lazy. I haven't lived, man.
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: I haven't lived.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it just seemed like you were being so lazy
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: back then. I haven't lived. was, man. Didn't you want
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: to make grilled cheeses and own a German shepherd?
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: I wanted to sell seashell earrings out of my van, dude.
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: Dude, one time this dude was selling grilled cheeses and
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: the dog looked like it wanted out of there.
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: It probably never gets any grilled cheese, by the way.
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: Oh, it was, yeah. The dog I think was running
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: on a little treadmill, even just powering the grilled cheese maker.
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: Like sometimes those van guys in those, um, outside of
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: concerts are pretty wild. Is there like a big, uh, tailgate?
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: Do some artists have like a big tailgate thing that
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: that's part of their culture?
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. You know, we do, gosh, we do
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: a big, uh, a big tailgate on like this weekend
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: we have, or this year we have Friday and Saturday
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: shows that, so all the same cities. So, On Saturday
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: we have, you've heard of Whiskey Jam, I'm sure.
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, it's fun.
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: So Ward and the Whiskey Jam folks come out and
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: they bring up-and-coming artists out.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: We have a stage outside the stadium. And all that's free. Oh, wow.
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: So, I mean, you really don't even have to have
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: a ticket to the show to come to that if
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: you don't want to. So on Saturdays, man, like we
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: really try to, we've worked hard to like build, to
- 1:59:18Speaker 3: like foster the culture of our shows and how we
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: want that experience to be for our fans. Like, I mean,
- 1:59:25Speaker 3: the whole weekend, like, they get discounts at certain hotels
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: if they're in my fan club. And, like, we work
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: with all these different people to make them have the
- 1:59:36Speaker 3: best experience that we can have, you know. And so, yeah,
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: the tailgating thing, dude, I mean, obviously the Chesney tailgate
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: culture is unbelievable.
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: As was, like, the Buffett stuff.
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:59:49Speaker 3: We went out, you know, but I think country has
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: such a great, it's just in general kind of tailgating
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: vibe because I think a lot of those fans, like
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: I think of like the college football fan base to me,
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: like there's so much, there's so much correlation in the,
- 2:00:05Speaker 3: in the country music fan base to that. And that
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: culture is so similar.
- 2:00:10Speaker 1: It's just fun. Right.
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: Like that's what it should be.
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: I think people want to have fun.
- 2:00:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: Yeah. For sure. It's like the other night we were
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: in Miami. I was with Caleb actually.
- 2:00:17Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: Your buddies with him. Yep. And, um, And we were
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: going to some club, but then we had more fun
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: in the car on the way there just listening to
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: country music. Yeah. And then we got to the club
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: and we're like, this sucks. Yeah, you're like, dude, I
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: can't imagine. So that's just trash, dude.
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: I love Caleb, dude.
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: He's something else. He said he used to manage you, too,
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: did he? I don't think.
- 2:00:39Speaker 3: I wouldn't say that, probably.
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: No? No, definitely not. He seems like someone who would
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: be lying about that. Probably. He could be. Could be known, yeah. Yeah. Yeah,
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: he's a special guy, man. He's one of a kind.
- 2:00:53Speaker 3: Dude, we were buddies back in the day, man. Like,
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: he was, I think I was a senior and he
- 2:00:58Speaker 3: was a freshman, I think. But he was like.
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: And what was he like, the Rapunzel of the team, cousin?
- 2:01:03Speaker 3: He was like the guy, like, if eight quarterbacks got hurt.
- 2:01:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:01:07Speaker 3: Like, as a freshman, he would, like, come in.
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: Then he would get a notification on his phone. And
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: then he could show up to the game. He got
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: a free ticket to the game.
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: But I rode the pine hard, and obviously he wasn't
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: playing because he was a freshman or whatever.
- 2:01:23Speaker 1: And because, yeah, he wasn't ever going to. But were
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: you any good at football? No, I was trash. Really? Yeah,
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: I was terrible.
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: I just didn't apply myself, man. I feel like I
- 2:01:34Speaker 3: could have been good. But, dude, I was too busy
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: singing all the time, dude. I mean, I was in
- 2:01:38Speaker 3: choir every day of high school for, I mean, every
- 2:01:42Speaker 3: day of public school from sixth grade to when I graduated,
- 2:01:44Speaker 3: I was in chorus class every day.
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: And did you ever integrate or try and date women
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: that were on the flag team? We didn't have that.
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: No way. Yeah.
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: How do you not even have a flag team when
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: you don't have like a local military or anything? Yeah.
- 2:01:59Speaker 1: You mean like ROTC? Oh, you mean like, yeah. I
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: thought you meant like. Oh, yeah. We had flag team.
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: Usually there was a lot of crossover in that. You think? Oh,
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: a lot of ROTC.
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: So a lot of ROTC.
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: Men are the children of flag team women. That can't
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: be real, dude.
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: That can't be a real stat. I hope that's a
- 2:02:18Speaker 3: real stat.
- 2:02:19Speaker 1: You're telling me. You're honestly going to tell me, Luke,
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: that a lot of ROTC men aren't the children of.
- 2:02:28Speaker 3: It's possible, I think.
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: Of flag team women.
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: Flag team relationships.
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, flag team relationships. Okay, okay.
- 2:02:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I think there's a possibility that there could be
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: some correlation.
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: There, you know? I think there is.
- 2:02:42Speaker 3: There's a high probability.
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: Yeah, high probability. The new album, it comes out Friday
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: before Father's Day. Friday before Father's Day. Yep, yep. Fathers
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: and Sons.
- 2:02:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Fathers and Sons, yep. be good man i'm excited
- 2:03:00Speaker 3: hope people enjoy it you know yeah for what it
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: is you.
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: Know well it's important too for people to take time
- 2:03:05Speaker 1: if you can to reflect on those relationships it's hard
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: sometimes sometimes you get so busy you don't even think
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: about what somebody means to.
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: You sure sure man it's it's important stuff man and
- 2:03:14Speaker 3: i think you know there's so many different paths that
- 2:03:17Speaker 3: people have had growing up with their with their dads
- 2:03:19Speaker 3: or their moms even you know what i mean like
- 2:03:21Speaker 3: yeah i think there's something in these songs that you
- 2:03:24Speaker 3: know can translate to anybody you know it's It just
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: happens to be fathers and sons for me because I've
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: got two boys. Maybe that changes one day and they'll
- 2:03:32Speaker 3: be mothers and fathers.
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you never know.
- 2:03:37Speaker 3: I don't count anything out. You never know where it
- 2:03:40Speaker 3: could lead.
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: You could be a woman.
- 2:03:42Speaker 3: The songs mean a lot to me. I hope that
- 2:03:45Speaker 3: people can relate to them and listen to them and
- 2:03:49Speaker 3: love them as much as I do, for sure.
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's important to have anthems that go along with
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: how we feel sometimes.
- 2:03:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:03:55Speaker 1: No doubt. That's about it, Luke.
- 2:03:59Speaker 3: Yeah. Thanks for having me, dude.
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: I thought you had a nice chat, man.
- 2:04:00Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely.
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Thanks for coming in. Yeah, absolutely, man. Before you go,
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: do artists start thinking more about collaborations now these days?
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: Does that seem like something that goes through a phase
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: where it seems more fun or more accepted or more.
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: I think there's definitely phases to it. You know, I
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: think there's a lot of... I think I've noticed that
- 2:04:16Speaker 3: a lot of brands are doing collaborations now, too. Like,
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: I don't know, like the McDonald's and Long John Silver's,
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: the McDonald's. oh yeah i mean the mcfish silver dude
- 2:04:27Speaker 3: you know.
- 2:04:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah there's always something there's always but.
- 2:04:29Speaker 3: It's like crocs and you know uh jacar noir clone
- 2:04:34Speaker 3: you know it's like a scratch and sniff jacar noir
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: croc or something.
- 2:04:38Speaker 1: You know i mean it's like something like that you
- 2:04:40Speaker 1: know yes available only at walgreens or so you know
- 2:04:43Speaker 1: what i mean it's like sniff this croc or whatever like.
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: They i have for sure a pair of kfc branded
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: crocs that smell like kfc chicken oh that's a real
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: thing i have that in.
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: My god you don't get a lot of shots to
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: have those you but i have the rare dude yeah hit.
- 2:05:02Speaker 3: Stock you know i mean it's a limited release dude
- 2:05:06Speaker 3: you know what i mean yeah it's funny all my
- 2:05:09Speaker 3: crocs are just collabs that smell like sweat once you
- 2:05:12Speaker 3: see if you had mine it would there it is
- 2:05:14Speaker 3: dude Kentucky Fried sold out, dawg.
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: Goddamn, they're sold out.
- 2:05:18Speaker 3: And they got a chicken gibbet on top, dude.
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Is that extra?
- 2:05:22Speaker 3: It's like a drumstick. It comes with it, dude.
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: I hope that doesn't cost extra, yeah. Put these on
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: your bucket list. God, that's beautiful. And you open them.
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: You can tie them tighter by spinning that nugget.
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: The little nuggets, they smell like chicken.
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: Goddamn. Bro, I'll pay more for ones that don't smell
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: like chicken. Don't smell like chicken. Fried gibbets, dude. There
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: they are. Fried gibbets right there. Damn, brother. I might
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: have to get me a set of gibbets.
- 2:05:49Speaker 3: Smell like fried chicken, dude. It says it on there.
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: It does, really? Yep. Oh, God. They're not going to
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: be offering that for long. I will say this, though.
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: Did you see the Squallet? It's like a wallet, a
- 2:06:00Speaker 1: squirrel wallet. Shut up. Go to Squallet website. Squallet. They're
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: sold out for... Years to come. No, just until September
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: of 24. Yeah, get that squalic. Get on there. Look
- 2:06:17Speaker 1: at this, Tommy. And this is supporting them. Unbelievable.
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: Now, hold on.
- 2:06:23Speaker 1: This does support our veterans. I do want you to know. Okay,
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: I love that.
- 2:06:26Speaker 3: I love that. Does that mean I can't laugh at.
- 2:06:28Speaker 4: It, though?
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: No, but you can laugh for sure. It's awesome, dude. Yeah,
- 2:06:32Speaker 1: I hope we have one to sell. So I'm right here.
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: The squalic. These squirrel wallets are made with real squirrel pelts.
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: I love this so much. The fur is super soft
- 2:06:40Speaker 1: and pliable.
- 2:06:42Speaker 3: Why is this something I need? I need one of these, dude.
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: I'll get you a dang squalette. Give me a squalette, dude.
- 2:06:46Speaker 3: Give me a squalette.

- 2:07:51Speaker 1: German Shepherd fur coat by us. Coyuzi. That coyuzi and
- 2:07:58Speaker 1: that's coyote, man? Yep. Coyuzi was a coyote koozie. That squoozie.

- 2:08:10Speaker 1: That's beautiful. The skunk. Look at the eyes, though, dude.
- 2:08:14Speaker 1: The eyes are freaking me out, dude. Yeah, you might
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: be able to buy little shades for them. Yeah. But
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: these are almost $ 65. They get in a.
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: Variety of sizes, such as tall boy, slim, and standard.
- 2:08:26Speaker 1: Yeah. I love the Happy St. Patrick's Day. The themed out.
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: What are we doing, dude? Why is there a Happy St.
- 2:08:35Speaker 1: Patrick's Day? Fucking scum. God, that just shows what they
- 2:08:42Speaker 1: think of the Irish right there. That's the worst part.
- 2:08:48Speaker 3: Are the tall boy ones more expensive than the other ones?
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: No.
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: Actually, the scoonzy is– that one's almost $ 65. The squalette
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: was only $ 54.
- 2:08:57Speaker 3: Squalette's $ 54.
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: Squalette. But, yeah, we had a dude selling a German
- 2:09:02Speaker 1: shepherd fur coat by us when I was young, I remember.
- 2:09:07Speaker 1: This whole deal seems– He only had one. He might
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: have had two.
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: Seems like there's probably a lot of regulations to this
- 2:09:13Speaker 3: business here.
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 2:09:14Speaker 3: Like, just be selling– And, like, just kind of random
- 2:09:18Speaker 3: animal pelts to people.
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, are these farm raised?
- 2:09:24Speaker 1: Are we wild caught here? This is farm to table, buddy.
- 2:09:29Speaker 3: This is street to table, dude.
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Hey, go to my TikToks
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: real quick. I want to see one that I looked at.
- 2:09:36Speaker 1: You see this? This has been my dream for, like,
- 2:09:38Speaker 1: nine years. I had a big van. A couple of
- 2:09:40Speaker 1: white kids made a... Bought it for $ 100, took it
- 2:09:43Speaker 1: to Minnesota and back. Didn't make a sauna, just scrapped
- 2:09:46Speaker 1: it instead. Limousine sauna. So I had two figures. Turned
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: one into a sauna. Sauna. Used all my scraps from
- 2:09:56Speaker 1: a few sauna jobs I did. The chimney came out
- 2:09:59Speaker 1: the top of the stove inside, but I didn't want
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: to have an entrance. Bro, this is on fire. Unbelievable.
- 2:10:08Speaker 1: Do an outside mouth.
- 2:10:09Speaker 3: Why do they have Werner's ginger ales on top, dude?
- 2:10:13Speaker 1: And how are these men just meeting each other in
- 2:10:16Speaker 1: the snow? And then they're just getting in the snow. See,
- 2:10:19Speaker 1: this is why I don't meet men online.
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: That's America, dude, right there, man.
- 2:10:23Speaker 1: That is.
- 2:10:25Speaker 3: Okay, what state are we going with here, dude? What's
- 2:10:28Speaker 3: our state, guys?
- 2:10:29Speaker 1: Oh, this. Well, you have to have snow. I'm going
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: to say sauna.
- 2:10:34Speaker 3: Oh, there's a license plate. What was that license plate?
- 2:10:36Speaker 1: I'm going to say Canada, probably. Southern Canada, Northern America.
- 2:10:40Speaker 1: Sauna zine, dude. Trademark.
- 2:10:42Speaker 3: I love how you put the trademark on there.
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 2:10:44Speaker 3: Like someone's going to be like, man.
- 2:10:45Speaker 1: I got to get that sauna zine. I got to
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: steal that idea, dude.
- 2:10:48Speaker 4: I think that said New Hampshire.
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: New Hampshire.
- 2:10:50Speaker 1: There we go. Sauna zine, dude. But the wood looks extreme.
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: The fumes from that wood could easily kill all four
- 2:10:57Speaker 1: or five of those men. For you guys that can't
- 2:10:59Speaker 1: see at home, there's a lot of men getting into
- 2:11:00Speaker 1: a sauna has been created inside of a limousine. And...
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: That's definitely just smoke in there, dude. It is full
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: of hot smoke.
- 2:11:12Speaker 3: And why is there ginger ales on top, dude?
- 2:11:14Speaker 1: That's the real question. That's a beverage bar, dude. You
- 2:11:18Speaker 1: got to chill.
- 2:11:20Speaker 3: You have to have a ginger ale.
- 2:11:23Speaker 1: That's open bar.
- 2:11:24Speaker 3: Open bar on the Sanazine.
- 2:11:26Speaker 1: That's open bar, Luke. Luke Combs, congrats on the new album, man.
- 2:11:31Speaker 1: Thank you. Making sure to check it out. Congrats on
- 2:11:33Speaker 1: being a father and a son.
- 2:11:34Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:11:35Speaker 1: Thank you, buddy. And thanks for hanging out with us today. Yes, sir.
- 2:11:38Speaker 2: Now I'm just floating on the breeze And I feel
- 2:11:42Speaker 2: I'm falling like these leaves I must be cornerstone Oh,
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: but when I reach that ground I'll share this peace
- 2:11:53Speaker 2: of mind I found I can feel it in my
- 2:11:57Speaker 2: bones
