- 0:07Speaker 1: Jim, my friend, what's that I would like to be
- 0:11Speaker 1: a fly on the wall during your employee thing.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You gotta do just to here.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Okay, that's all I got to say.
- 0:24Speaker 2: That's just sailor, Jeff. Good to talk to you again, Jeff.
- 0:31Speaker 3: All right, welcome back to the Jacob Show for already
- 0:32Speaker 3: one oh four point one. I am Jim, there's death.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Jack is here as well, live and we are lying.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Thank you very much for your patience today as we
- 0:39Speaker 3: had to put a couple hours the best of or
- 0:41Speaker 3: an hour and a half or so best of, so
- 0:43Speaker 3: we could go to this employee rally, which was mandatory.
- 0:47Speaker 3: All the employees were there. I think only a few
- 0:49Speaker 3: people Brandy Travitz and Bianchi were not there, but they
- 0:54Speaker 3: pre warned this they were not going to be there.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I do not accept this excuse though, by the way,
- 0:58Speaker 3: and we'll talk about that next Monday. It comes in.
- 1:01Speaker 3: But it's so funny. We walked in and today we
- 1:04Speaker 3: were the employee rallies put up by this thing we
- 1:06Speaker 3: have here in the building called the Vibe Team, and
- 1:08Speaker 3: the Vibe Team tries to create loss little fun events.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Jack's the king of them. The funny events in the building,
- 1:14Speaker 3: you know, for you keep them poise, engage and stuff
- 1:17Speaker 3: like that. And today's was a rally where basically we
- 1:21Speaker 3: kind of find out how we're doing the first half
- 1:23Speaker 3: of the year, what our goals are for the second
- 1:24Speaker 3: half of the year, and then of course for the
- 1:27Speaker 3: sales team to watch us make complete asses of ourselves
- 1:29Speaker 3: while they sat and laughed and drank free drinks.
- 1:33Speaker 4: And that's got a change at the next rally, it's
- 1:35Speaker 4: got to be the sales Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, trust me, that'll I'll be I'll be meeting
- 1:39Speaker 3: with our with our friend Judy to put in my
- 1:43Speaker 3: suggestions for the next employee rally, and I have a few.
- 1:46Speaker 3: It's great, uh but yeah, I mean it was a
- 1:48Speaker 3: lot of fun. Actually, uh we did y m c A.
- 1:51Speaker 3: We went first, which actually was great.
- 1:54Speaker 5: We actually went second, did we not know? We actually
- 1:56Speaker 5: did go first. There was someone else sited to go second,
- 1:59Speaker 5: and I think they were late, so we ended.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Up going first. But actually I think it was kind
- 2:03Speaker 4: of good to get it over before everyone around rip
- 2:06Speaker 4: off the band aid.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I'll tell you what sucked though, it's because they don't
- 2:09Speaker 3: know what's coming and we're the one that kind of
- 2:11Speaker 3: kicks it off. So it's like this, It's like being
- 2:13Speaker 3: in a beauty contest. I mean the first person, you know,
- 2:15Speaker 3: you're warming somebody up, and you know, down the road
- 2:17Speaker 3: when contestant eight comes through, you're already doing your judging
- 2:21Speaker 3: and stuff. But I heard the crowd getting bigger for
- 2:23Speaker 3: people like you know that that were down the line
- 2:25Speaker 3: because we had to kick the thing off.
- 2:27Speaker 4: We were the fluffers.
- 2:28Speaker 3: We were the fluffers.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Fluffers, we were the fluffers.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm making it any towel. But it was a
- 2:35Speaker 3: good time, a lot of fun watching the Johnny's House
- 2:38Speaker 3: do their thing, which is kind of cool. Johnny went
- 2:40Speaker 3: up there and did some slick rick, which is an
- 2:42Speaker 3: old school hip hop thing, and I walked up to
- 2:45Speaker 3: on the stage. We all went up to, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 3: because they did the even worse as if we had
- 2:48Speaker 3: to do this. They put the hand over the head,
- 2:50Speaker 3: give it up for these people. That was the worst
- 2:52Speaker 3: part was the thing is ever seem to end. We're
- 2:56Speaker 3: all employees, so everybody clapped. The scene for everybody was
- 3:00Speaker 3: like equal for everyone. Because the strange thing though, although
- 3:03Speaker 3: we do compete, I mean, you know, we compete with
- 3:05Speaker 3: Brandon and Mike.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, we compete with other shows in the building and
- 3:10Speaker 3: we all get along quite well actually, which is which
- 3:12Speaker 3: is really something unique in this business. But then there
- 3:14Speaker 3: like thirty three, thirty four years and this is like
- 3:17Speaker 3: one of the first times I remember, like it completely
- 3:19Speaker 3: cohesive across all formats, across all genres. It was a
- 3:23Speaker 3: lot of fun. Do you guys enjoy it?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:27Speaker 3: It was good. It was yeah, it was good. You
- 3:29Speaker 3: know what I learned, Singing is hard, dude, Singing is hard, man.
- 3:34Speaker 3: I mean, I was told Deborah. Deborah said to me,
- 3:36Speaker 3: she goes, I think I was going to hyperventilate. I said,
- 3:38Speaker 3: you have no idea. I think, like second verse of
- 3:40Speaker 3: that thing, I started kind of had to. I had
- 3:42Speaker 3: to kind of reach for breath.
- 3:44Speaker 5: So I think deb kind of deb I was surprised
- 3:48Speaker 5: because I thought deb and I were just doing backgrounds
- 3:51Speaker 5: on that, and then deb just chimed it and it's great,
- 3:54Speaker 5: did the whole song with you? And then I'm like, cool,
- 3:57Speaker 5: I'll just do the ymc A part. Yeah, you guess,
- 3:59Speaker 5: kill them.
- 3:59Speaker 6: It was.
- 4:00Speaker 3: It was really good, I mean, and again we got
- 4:01Speaker 3: told the first literally the first thing said to me
- 4:06Speaker 3: when I walked in the room, is, oh, hi, Jim,
- 4:07Speaker 3: how you doing. Thanks for coming. You're going first, and
- 4:10Speaker 3: I was like, okay, let's just peel this band aid
- 4:12Speaker 3: off like you said, Let's just get it go and
- 4:13Speaker 3: see what's going on. Good time though, we leaned in
- 4:16Speaker 3: and watch the monsters do their thing like that entire
- 4:19Speaker 3: crew showed up. Of course that's half the company now.
- 4:21Speaker 5: That was funny and I can't wait to hear them
- 4:23Speaker 5: discuss it tomorrow because really going into it, it was
- 4:26Speaker 5: only going to be Ryan and angel Yes, because they volunteered.
- 4:30Speaker 5: They knew what song they were going to do when
- 4:32Speaker 5: they were ready to go, and Russ was one reluctant
- 4:36Speaker 5: cowboy when it came to the caesar.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I don't like, you know, having to you know, perform
- 4:40Speaker 4: for the other people from another mother.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Right, He stood up to the side and danced with
- 4:45Speaker 3: the Angelice and it was great, and so was their
- 4:47Speaker 3: backup dance Angelique Savanna shows up and they were all
- 4:50Speaker 3: up there. It was great.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Ye Homes shows up literally as they're going on stage.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I have not been to an event where he has
- 4:56Speaker 5: not been late.
- 4:56Speaker 4: You mean exactly literally walked into the stage.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I have not been to an event where he has
- 5:02Speaker 3: not been late.
- 5:04Speaker 4: But we have to remember the biggest win of the afternoon.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Drink tickets, no taco Bob from our sister's station. Completely
- 5:13Speaker 4: wrong hotel.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he ended, because that's where we have our
- 5:18Speaker 3: Christmas party.
- 5:19Speaker 5: I'm glad to know it's not just real radio staff
- 5:23Speaker 5: who don't read their email.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I didn't read the email. I just assumed it was here.
- 5:28Speaker 4: That's where I went. And his daughter dropped him off
- 5:30Speaker 4: and it was far then, even after walking, he still
- 5:33Speaker 4: had to get an uber to make it to the abbey.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, meeting.
- 5:36Speaker 3: It was down by that. I mean it's down by
- 5:38Speaker 3: Chart Street and we were away on the well not way,
- 5:40Speaker 3: but we were multiple blocks on the other side of town.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Definitely could not have made it on foot. Bob's built
- 5:46Speaker 3: for a lot of walks.
- 5:47Speaker 4: He could have one of those city scooters on those
- 5:50Speaker 4: How much.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Money would you pay to see Bob come around the
- 5:53Speaker 3: corner with a butt light one hand on a green scooter.
- 5:56Speaker 4: A lot of money, jeez, Louise, A lot of money.
- 5:59Speaker 3: So much on man, it was a good time. We
- 6:01Speaker 3: saw Chad and Leslie out there for Magic one of
- 6:02Speaker 3: seven and seven. We saw the Johnny's house. We saw Musa,
- 6:06Speaker 3: John and Jenny, the entire crew.
- 6:07Speaker 4: From the room. Yeah, the afternoon show there as well.
- 6:10Speaker 4: But listen. If you like listening to Alejandro read the
- 6:13Speaker 4: phone book, next, you need to watch him dance.
- 6:15Speaker 3: And dude, my man came in there full hispanic black
- 6:17Speaker 3: jeans with his shirt button down to his belt buckle.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I'm like, white even have buttons, dude, yeah, just cut
- 6:22Speaker 3: them off.
- 6:22Speaker 5: I think Jenny, she had an assignment for the boys,
- 6:25Speaker 5: and she's like, everyone's dressing show black.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's exactly what it was. And it's so funny.
- 6:30Speaker 3: She was bitching and moaning about going up there the
- 6:31Speaker 3: entire time. I don't want to do this. I don't
- 6:33Speaker 3: want to do this, and then gets up there and showcases, dude,
- 6:36Speaker 3: I mean totally showcases and does a good job. I
- 6:38Speaker 3: was I was banging her of the I shouldn't say that, Oh, I.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Was telling you.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I was like, man, you were bitching and moan about
- 6:44Speaker 3: the entire thing, and you guys killed it today. I mean,
- 6:46Speaker 3: I don't know what you're mad. What are you mad about?
- 6:48Speaker 3: She just didn't want to do it. She was nervous,
- 6:51Speaker 3: and she got up there and out in her realm
- 6:52Speaker 3: and she started doing ray.
- 6:53Speaker 4: There's no need to be nervous. You just go up
- 6:56Speaker 4: there and seize the day.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, just seize the day. Someone tell you that it
- 7:01Speaker 3: sounds very facetious.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Well it was facetious, and I mean I got I
- 7:07Speaker 4: got a little lunch and then found out we were
- 7:08Speaker 4: going first and it's like, well, there we go. I
- 7:11Speaker 4: can't eat this now. I was too nervous.
- 7:13Speaker 3: How's the food, By the way, it was good meat. Yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 3: I saw that a little good. I ate a sandwich
- 7:17Speaker 3: before I came in today, so I wasn't even hungry there.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Oh yes, yeah, I didn't do that. No, got a
- 7:23Speaker 4: banana at the gas station, right.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Four seven, nine six, one of the four to one
- 7:27Speaker 3: text us at're lying zero three.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I'm literally holding my banana.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we do have a it's only money. Coming
- 7:34Speaker 3: up a little bit later in the program, we're not
- 7:35Speaker 3: gonna do what you do that's new. Why why not, Jim?
- 7:38Speaker 3: We missed that segment and we're gonna why don't we
- 7:41Speaker 3: do it next? We'll do We'll do that next week.
- 7:43Speaker 3: We'll just kind of catch up on the next week.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Someone not do their homework. It's a minute I can
- 7:49Speaker 5: do it during your break, but I'm I feel like,
- 7:50Speaker 5: right now, what time is it?
- 7:52Speaker 7: Oh?
- 7:52Speaker 3: There, you got four thirty eight. All right, let's take
- 7:55Speaker 3: a little weird. Let's take a little break. We'll come back,
- 7:57Speaker 3: set up some topics, and then I have a normal
- 7:59Speaker 3: show as much as we can the rest of the afternoon.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Thanks for doing you, guys. We appreciate it so much,
- 8:03Speaker 3: and thanks for your patience with that little bit of
- 8:05Speaker 3: that stuff. Back in a second with the first live
- 8:06Speaker 3: segment here on the.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Show, Good day cover to COVID, It's concrete, Mike, Jimmy.
- 8:14Speaker 1: While you all are doing your little party, your best
- 8:16Speaker 1: of the trivia questions, you had a question of what
- 8:21Speaker 1: is the one living thing that I am most terrified of?
- 8:25Speaker 1: My media answer was catfish.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I was wrong.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'm surprised, as Kyle croaches. And now I judge you
- 8:33Speaker 1: a little bit more than I already did. Buddy, I
- 8:35Speaker 1: love you, man, But.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Dad, I hate him, Dude, I hate him. We had
- 8:40Speaker 3: one in the house the other day and it was
- 8:42Speaker 3: a big daddy couch and my wife and I looked
- 8:47Speaker 3: like two people had never seen one before. It was
- 8:51Speaker 3: she was she was ten feet from it and screaming
- 8:53Speaker 3: like it was on her and uh and I hate
- 8:55Speaker 3: him so much. I just mean, I got a flip flop.
- 8:57Speaker 3: That is the roach destroyer guy. If you need it. No,
- 9:01Speaker 3: I spray all the time. It's just sometimes when it
- 9:02Speaker 3: gets rainy outside, they get inside. I don't know that's true.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Rain does seeming to chase the insects in. It's crazy.
- 9:08Speaker 4: And if not the rain, the heat today rain h.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Four seven nine one text sus seven seven zero three one.
- 9:14Speaker 3: I'm Jim Debit and Jack are here as well. At yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 3: one hundred and one degrees on my truck temperature gauge
- 9:20Speaker 3: on the way here from downtown Orlando. Brutal out there,
- 9:23Speaker 3: and it's a wild heat like where you're like, oh,
- 9:25Speaker 3: it's not that bad, and the nixing, you know, you're
- 9:27Speaker 3: laying on the ground in a fetal position.
- 9:29Speaker 4: I have it at ninety seven degrees right now with
- 9:32Speaker 4: the feels like of one oh seven.
- 9:35Speaker 5: So July third, we are broadcasting from Mount Dora Whiskey Kitchen, and.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Russ had a comment for me on that today.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, can.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Tell you the same thing he did.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Oh he was saying it on the air because it's
- 9:47Speaker 5: funny we sat in the meeting, there were going to
- 9:49Speaker 5: be a Pisces rising. Then they then it was going
- 9:51Speaker 5: to be a back porch pizza, which is right behind
- 9:54Speaker 5: internet connection. There was flawless last time. They were all
- 9:57Speaker 5: about it and Rush will wait outside. Yeah, we can't
- 10:00Speaker 5: be outside. And it is July third in Florida, Yes,
- 10:03Speaker 5: it is. Until you know, they're six to eleven, so
- 10:06Speaker 5: the first couple hours should be fine for that.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it's three to seven when the real party gets started.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Not to mention, I mean last year when we did
- 10:13Speaker 3: this at is it the Artery?
- 10:15Speaker 4: No, we did that Whiskey Kitchen. Yeah, but for the
- 10:18Speaker 4: July third event was the Artery. We were in the shade.
- 10:22Speaker 4: We had a ceiling fan overhead.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, that wasn't bad. But that rain that came
- 10:26Speaker 3: in the afternoon was a burrutal. Yeah, it was really bad.
- 10:30Speaker 3: And we're outside at Whiskey Kitchen. Rollins walks up to
- 10:32Speaker 3: me today and he goes, he goes, hey man, fourth
- 10:35Speaker 3: of the July broadcast, and I said, yeah, what's going on?
- 10:38Speaker 3: He goes Whiskey Kitchen. I said, yeah, we're really excited.
- 10:40Speaker 3: We love that space. He goes, dude, we did it
- 10:41Speaker 3: last year at Whiskey Kitchen for the summer. He goes,
- 10:44Speaker 3: it is going to be so freaking hot. I said,
- 10:47Speaker 3: there's plenty of shade, and they've got like fans and stuff.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 3: You just gotta laughed a little bit, and I'm like
- 10:51Speaker 3: a dude.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Hey, they've been at Piscey's Rising, They've been outside, they've
- 10:55Speaker 5: been inside, They've been outside at Back Porch Pizza, all
- 10:58Speaker 5: of that same little area there by Sunset Park. However,
- 11:02Speaker 5: news Junkie two years ago they were outside their equipment overheated.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Uh last year. Last year just started the rain and
- 11:10Speaker 5: they went inside. So as long as we have a
- 11:13Speaker 5: rain contingent heat, we'll deal with.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure. But it's gonna be a great
- 11:17Speaker 3: night shorts. It's such a good are you really good
- 11:19Speaker 3: for you? I will as well. Then, well it will
- 11:21Speaker 3: probably be one hundred and ten short shorts, I mean
- 11:23Speaker 3: super nutcutters. Like really all right, elastic.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Man, stop teasing us because you said you were gonna
- 11:29Speaker 5: wear those today for our YMCA performance.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm still fraying them at the house. I just said,
- 11:35Speaker 3: I gotta fray. You gonna pull the fray out, Jack
- 11:37Speaker 3: the pray is everything that's true. That's all about the
- 11:39Speaker 3: Fray wants that fresh cut.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Speaking of the employee rally today, I want to thank
- 11:45Speaker 4: Jack for the text message telling us to get on
- 11:47Speaker 4: the I four express lanes. I wish I had seen
- 11:50Speaker 4: that before I went. I don't know, I've never been
- 11:53Speaker 4: in the express lanes. Let me get on regular ie
- 11:55Speaker 4: for East. I'm sure there won't be a problem.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Because we never drive at four o'clock in the afternoon. No,
- 11:59Speaker 5: we do not, and you know why because of that. Yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 5: And I made the mistake. And then I made the
- 12:05Speaker 5: worst mistake. After getting it caught in congestion two miles
- 12:08Speaker 5: from our exit, I'm like, I'll just take Lee Road
- 12:11Speaker 5: and I'll take the side roads in of course you
- 12:13Speaker 5: have to wait at all the traffic lights with everyone
- 12:15Speaker 5: else trying to get out the he.
- 12:17Speaker 4: That's what I was gonna do. I was like, well,
- 12:18Speaker 4: let me get off and get you know, go back
- 12:20Speaker 4: in the Eatonville Way, and and that's how I ended
- 12:23Speaker 4: up getting That's how I was gonna do that. And
- 12:25Speaker 4: then I thought, no, we're just gonna.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Stay on the big roads.
- 12:27Speaker 8: Man.
- 12:27Speaker 3: That's the fastest way. It's always the fastest way. You
- 12:30Speaker 3: always talk yourself in. Yeah, I'm just gonna hop up here,
- 12:32Speaker 3: take this, let that better, as if nobody else is thinking,
- 12:34Speaker 3: I know, as if everybody else just moved here and
- 12:37Speaker 3: they haven't figured that out yet.
- 12:38Speaker 4: I just stay on the big roads. And I almost
- 12:40Speaker 4: pulled a Jimmy Jack.
- 12:41Speaker 3: What's a Jimmy jan What it's a Jimmy Jiant?
- 12:43Speaker 4: Well, a Jimmy is where you you think you've got
- 12:46Speaker 4: enough gas in your car. I can make it. It's
- 12:49Speaker 4: not a worry. I pulled out of my parking spot
- 12:53Speaker 4: and bang, low fuel light comes on, and I'm like,
- 12:57Speaker 4: I can't.
- 12:57Speaker 5: I can't do a Jimmy At that point, you probably
- 12:59Speaker 5: have another eighty miles that that things.
- 13:01Speaker 3: I'm not an eighty get out of here. What are
- 13:02Speaker 3: you crazy?
- 13:03Speaker 4: Plus make car your range? Well, plus my car being
- 13:06Speaker 4: a turbo. You can literally watch the clicks go down.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I'm using so much gas. It's like, don't hit, don't
- 13:12Speaker 4: hit the gas.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I say eighty eight, yeah, eight miles of my truck
- 13:15Speaker 3: right now. And I gotta tell you, I love the
- 13:17Speaker 3: thrill of almost running out of gas. It has become
- 13:19Speaker 3: a thing for me. Now.
- 13:20Speaker 5: No, yeah, you need a hobby throw for me is
- 13:23Speaker 5: when how far past the f can I make that
- 13:25Speaker 5: needle stall?
- 13:27Speaker 4: I told I told Deborah.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I was coming into work probably I don't know, probably
- 13:30Speaker 3: six seven months ago, whatever it was, and I had
- 13:33Speaker 3: to get going about eighty five or ninety miles an
- 13:35Speaker 3: hour and put it in neutral because I wasn't sure
- 13:37Speaker 3: if I was gonna have enough gas to even make
- 13:39Speaker 3: it to seven eleven. It was two miles away. So
- 13:41Speaker 3: I was like, well, I'll just coast there if it,
- 13:43Speaker 3: if it comes to worst, comes.
- 13:44Speaker 4: The worst, and I'm the irresponsible Yeah, no, no, no, no,
- 13:47Speaker 4: no no, So how far.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Are you go?
- 13:49Speaker 4: Are you gonna like? How far are you going to
- 13:50Speaker 4: stretch it out?
- 13:51Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna put fuel injector cleaner in my truck tonight.
- 13:54Speaker 3: So they tell you to run it as low as
- 13:55Speaker 3: you can possibly get it and then fill it up
- 13:57Speaker 3: on top of the injector cleaner. So I've got to
- 13:59Speaker 3: do that. But I'll go to the seven limon right here.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I got plenty of guests for that.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that you'll get to.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but I like it when it gets when the
- 14:05Speaker 3: when the gas line is left of the empty line,
- 14:09Speaker 3: so you know the red line that says you're empty.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I like it when my gas gauge is left of that,
- 14:14Speaker 3: like where it's where. You don't really know from second
- 14:16Speaker 3: to second when it's gonna happen. What why, I don't know.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I have no idea why. I don't know why that's
- 14:22Speaker 3: exciting for me, but.
- 14:23Speaker 4: It is, especially in the daylight today I walk.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But I like the for more than I hate to heat.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Tell me how bad you felt though driving by anybody
- 14:31Speaker 4: who's car overheated and they're sitting on the side of
- 14:33Speaker 4: the turnpike or the four roadway. I four.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Just people walking around downtown Land. Oh no, what are
- 14:38Speaker 3: you guys doing? You know there's a c in those
- 14:40Speaker 3: buildings you're walking by. Pop it into that coffee shop?
- 14:43Speaker 3: Do you're gonna melt?
- 14:44Speaker 4: At least I'm happy that I didn't get the parking ticket.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Ye yeah, somebody else did ken Oh no, And we
- 14:52Speaker 4: both we both parked on the same street. Somehow I
- 14:55Speaker 4: was on the right and didn't get a ticket. And
- 14:57Speaker 4: we saw the bright green paper as we were walking
- 15:00Speaker 4: out from the rally. Because that's just two hour parking, right,
- 15:04Speaker 4: I think I know on my side it was three
- 15:07Speaker 4: hour parking from eight am to six PM. I thought
- 15:10Speaker 4: it was the same sign on the side that he
- 15:12Speaker 4: parked at, but apparently not because he got a ticket
- 15:14Speaker 4: and I didn't.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I got to tell you, I think downtown those meta
- 15:17Speaker 3: readers hiding the bushes. I'm telling you, man, it is crazy.
- 15:21Speaker 3: When I got the one when I went to Doctor
- 15:22Speaker 3: Phillips Center and I had a ticket out. When I
- 15:24Speaker 3: came back, I was like, man to wit, you know,
- 15:26Speaker 3: and you look at the times like I had just parked,
- 15:29Speaker 3: like it was do you give me the ticket of
- 15:31Speaker 3: like seven oh six? I got there seven oh one,
- 15:33Speaker 3: like what are you doing? And I parked on the
- 15:35Speaker 3: side of the road ever by, Like the Yola was easy.
- 15:37Speaker 5: And with Ken, I remember when he got there, he
- 15:39Speaker 5: had the the pay to Go, the app where you
- 15:42Speaker 5: can pay online. I'm like, just quick, and he's like,
- 15:44Speaker 5: pay with Apple Pay, but it wouldn't take it. I go,
- 15:47Speaker 5: you need a different form of payment, and I guess
- 15:49Speaker 5: he never did it.
- 15:50Speaker 4: He even tried someone else's card and it wouldn't take that.
- 15:53Speaker 4: So he doesn't know yet cause I told you I
- 15:56Speaker 4: had taken a picture of my parking spot number so
- 15:59Speaker 4: that I could figure out how to pay. But then
- 16:01Speaker 4: they didn't give me a ticket.
- 16:02Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, so you didn't pay you. Oh, I see,
- 16:05Speaker 5: I just parked on the street and enough free spot.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Well Q.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Girls never get tickets. I listen, man, I got bad news.
- 16:11Speaker 3: That's another thing that women have on top of us
- 16:14Speaker 3: is they don't get tickets. If you're cute, that's cute.
- 16:15Speaker 3: She doesn't get tickets. My wife cute chi get pulled
- 16:17Speaker 3: over one hundred millars an hour in the school zone. Oh,
- 16:20Speaker 3: I'm sorry, man, did you use your accelerator get stuck?
- 16:22Speaker 2: Oh?
- 16:23Speaker 3: I feeling bad for you. Here's here's a mechanic you
- 16:24Speaker 3: should probably use. If I go one mile an hour over,
- 16:27Speaker 3: I'm face down on the pavement with a baton in
- 16:29Speaker 3: the back of my head.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Remember that time you got pulled over by the cop
- 16:32Speaker 5: here and you said she was hot?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Yeah she was cute.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I mean you said really hot.
- 16:37Speaker 3: No I didn't say that, Yeah you did. No, I
- 16:39Speaker 3: did not say that. Oh, whit's in the meeting. I
- 16:42Speaker 3: promaly said it. Sorry down four oh seven nine four
- 16:45Speaker 3: one text tests seven seven zero three one back in
- 16:47Speaker 3: a second with more than Jim Colbert show right there.
- 16:55Speaker 9: Oh boy, Jim, You've got me admitting to myself and
- 16:58Speaker 9: now the world are You're your world? That I played
- 17:01Speaker 9: out running out of Gas game. I don't know why
- 17:05Speaker 9: I do it. And recently it bit me in the
- 17:08Speaker 9: fanny because I run out of gas in my truck
- 17:11Speaker 9: and major traffic and jumped out and I pushed it
- 17:15Speaker 9: by myself, and I made it really pretty far. I
- 17:18Speaker 9: could see the gas station. Finally somebody jumped out and
- 17:21Speaker 9: helped me. And yeah, it's hot out there.
- 17:24Speaker 4: You're a marriage man, so forget it. The sniper isn't
- 17:28Speaker 4: available to you. She drives a truck, She drives the truck,
- 17:32Speaker 4: plays the runs out of Gas game, and then pushes
- 17:35Speaker 4: her own damn truck herself to the gas station. I
- 17:38Speaker 4: want to have a beer with you, all right?
- 17:40Speaker 3: Four four one text seven seven zero three one.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I'm Jim.
- 17:43Speaker 3: There's deb Jack is here as well.
- 17:45Speaker 4: That afternoon.
- 17:46Speaker 3: All right, man, it's it's getting some stuff here. I
- 17:48Speaker 3: saw this actually pulled the story to talk about yesterday,
- 17:50Speaker 3: which I find kind of interesting. Let me go back
- 17:53Speaker 3: to it here real quick. So there is there is
- 17:57Speaker 3: an explosion in men are young men who are thinking
- 18:03Speaker 3: about fatherhood, and this has been a kind of a
- 18:06Speaker 3: there's a kind of a turn you know about the story.
- 18:08Speaker 4: No, I just remember you teasing it yesterday because you
- 18:11Speaker 4: were saying, it's an interesting thing that's inspiring young men
- 18:14Speaker 4: to become fired.
- 18:15Speaker 2: It is.
- 18:15Speaker 3: We got on that Nate Bargatcy thing yesterday and kind
- 18:17Speaker 3: of took over the show a little bit. But this
- 18:19Speaker 3: is a this is a real what's going on?
- 18:21Speaker 5: Well, No, I thought the latest data was that gen
- 18:25Speaker 5: Z is not as interested in raising fast.
- 18:28Speaker 3: So that's that's what I've heard as well. This story
- 18:30Speaker 3: is a USA Today's story. That's kind of interesting because
- 18:32Speaker 3: there is a select there I say select group of people,
- 18:35Speaker 3: but there are people that are thinking about this and
- 18:37Speaker 3: there's a very interesting reason why. And you know, we
- 18:40Speaker 3: talk about the impact on the on this particular technology
- 18:45Speaker 3: on on you know, just society in general at this time. Actually,
- 18:48Speaker 3: it's way different. You want to know what it is. Yeah,
- 18:53Speaker 3: it's video games. There's a video game called Pragmata, and
- 18:58Speaker 3: Pragmata from the outside looks like your stereo typical sci
- 19:00Speaker 3: fi action game. There's guns, explosions, and throughout the game
- 19:04Speaker 3: you play as Hugh, who is an astronaut fighting to
- 19:07Speaker 3: get back to Earth from a lunar research facility.
- 19:09Speaker 4: You meant what we're planning to do with Mars, right.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. But the thing is, what you don't know
- 19:14Speaker 3: is you have a companion and it's a robot. It's
- 19:17Speaker 3: a robot girl named Diana, that she's right there on
- 19:20Speaker 3: your screen right now. And the idea of Diana being
- 19:23Speaker 3: there by the way, they say that this game will
- 19:24Speaker 3: bring you to tears. Now, I've not heard of it
- 19:26Speaker 3: before or anything like that. I've never played it, of course,
- 19:29Speaker 3: but this Hugh guy and this robot girl named Diana
- 19:32Speaker 3: create this father daughter bond and part of the game
- 19:36Speaker 3: is you getting her safely back to Earth with you.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And apparently as young men play this game, they start
- 19:46Speaker 3: really kind of falling in in love with the idea
- 19:49Speaker 3: of protecting someone, of being that man and that person
- 19:53Speaker 3: who takes somebody under their wing and nurtures them to
- 19:57Speaker 3: a better place in life. And it says and it's
- 20:00Speaker 3: they ask players are like, then the players are like,
- 20:02Speaker 3: what is this feeling inside me? Like, what's going on?
- 20:05Speaker 3: I want to protect something. I want to be a dad.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Just watch the movie Alien, right, It's the whole concept
- 20:11Speaker 4: of her getting the little girl back safely to Earth's
- 20:13Speaker 4: the spoiler alert. The in these comments.
- 20:17Speaker 3: So it's like this, these guys are going, I will
- 20:20Speaker 3: burn anybody who tries to get with Diana. I will
- 20:22Speaker 3: tell her everybody apart if you try to get with
- 20:24Speaker 3: Diana or mess with Diana, I'm gonna destroy your entire
- 20:27Speaker 3: world because they're like overly obsessed with protecting this robot
- 20:31Speaker 3: girl and getting her back home to Earth. And there's
- 20:34Speaker 3: some scenes from it at Jim Corbert Live dot com.
- 20:36Speaker 3: You can go to Real Radio DONFM, slash watch and
- 20:41Speaker 3: check it out right here on our camera as well.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Jack has some scenes up and that's exactly what's happened.
- 20:46Speaker 5: It's a trailer for the video game, but you get
- 20:47Speaker 5: to see what video game graphics now a little bit.
- 20:49Speaker 3: And it says that psychologists say the instinct to nurture
- 20:52Speaker 3: isn't something that just belongs to women, though mostest you know,
- 20:56Speaker 3: popular culture indicates that like it's only women who feel
- 20:59Speaker 3: that way, but men have that as well, and they're
- 21:01Speaker 3: finding that this game, specifically, this game is bringing out
- 21:05Speaker 3: thoughts that young men never knew they were gonna have
- 21:08Speaker 3: because they don't have sisters with babies, or they're not
- 21:11Speaker 3: around children very often. When they are around children, it's
- 21:13Speaker 3: usually in a setting where there are other people's kids
- 21:16Speaker 3: and they're not. They don't you know, you know how
- 21:17Speaker 3: other people's kids are.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Absolutely, And I you know, I take back my alien
- 21:21Speaker 4: comment because that still wouldn't work, because that was Sigourney
- 21:24Speaker 4: Weaver trying to take the little girl back to Earth,
- 21:27Speaker 4: so it wouldn't engage the young men and their feelings
- 21:29Speaker 4: of protection.
- 21:30Speaker 3: It says. Three weeks after its release on April seventeenth,
- 21:33Speaker 3: the game sold over two million copies worldwide. It said,
- 21:37Speaker 3: the caregiving instinct, as I understand it, is a way
- 21:40Speaker 3: that mother Nature helps the human race keep going. And
- 21:44Speaker 3: that hasn't really been a situation with young men, you know,
- 21:47Speaker 3: and that thirteen to eighteen, nineteen, twenty year old thing.
- 21:50Speaker 3: They just really haven't thought about that. Matter of fact,
- 21:52Speaker 3: all we hear about is they can't get dates. We
- 21:53Speaker 3: just said a story the other day about you know,
- 21:55Speaker 3: kids not dancing in clubs anymore because they're afraids. They're
- 21:58Speaker 3: gonna get videotaped or you know, our tape or recorded.
- 22:01Speaker 5: And why I didn't want to see Harry ok same
- 22:04Speaker 5: here and thrown online to you know, to humiliate them.
- 22:07Speaker 3: So so young men are finding it more and more
- 22:10Speaker 3: difficult to come forward and even find a mate to
- 22:12Speaker 3: create this with. So I think that kind of led
- 22:14Speaker 3: to that entire purp, that that idea that guys don't
- 22:18Speaker 3: want to do that, but they do, they just can't
- 22:20Speaker 3: find anybody to do it with.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Well, it's funny. I wouldn't be surprised if some of
- 22:26Speaker 4: them didn't realize that they wanted to until they started
- 22:29Speaker 4: playing the game.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I mean, here's the thing. You've never had to experience
- 22:32Speaker 3: anything like that. I mean, as usually as a seventeen
- 22:34Speaker 3: year old, you're not a boy babysitter as a rule,
- 22:36Speaker 3: that's a that's not a job that males really have.
- 22:39Speaker 3: So you don't grow up nurturing children. You never asked
- 22:42Speaker 3: to nurture a child. Maybe I had a little brother
- 22:44Speaker 3: or little sister. You had to watch my mom at
- 22:45Speaker 3: the grocery store. But that's not that's not putting a
- 22:48Speaker 3: diaper on them, or feeding them or you know, protecting
- 22:51Speaker 3: them from people. That's not doing anything of that. You're
- 22:52Speaker 3: just kind of doing mom a favor. And it says
- 22:55Speaker 3: the familiar old drives of men are something seldom acknowledged
- 22:57Speaker 3: by society. More broadly, it's not to the same agree
- 23:01Speaker 3: degree that women are, and he said that men playing
- 23:04Speaker 3: pragmatic I likely don't have much encouragement in day to
- 23:06Speaker 3: day life to envision themselves in a parental role, which
- 23:09Speaker 3: is exactly what's going on.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I gotta talk. This is this is why I wish
- 23:13Speaker 4: Ross was here to ask, like, have you played this game?
- 23:16Speaker 8: Me?
- 23:16Speaker 3: No, I never heard about it before today asking I
- 23:19Speaker 3: never heard about it either. It says it's helping people
- 23:21Speaker 3: experience relating to another person. And even though it's a
- 23:25Speaker 3: video game, the way it's written is you're protecting this
- 23:28Speaker 3: robot girl, and dudes are like getting into it because
- 23:32Speaker 3: the nature of protecting makes them feel manly.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Well, any type of simulation, you know, can give you
- 23:38Speaker 5: an experience in something. It's why they they do, you know,
- 23:42Speaker 5: a combat training simulation to give you some experience and
- 23:46Speaker 5: familiarity with either terrain, weapons, environments.
- 23:51Speaker 4: You know, So this same thing with you know.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Okay, now I got a kid to protect and it
- 23:56Speaker 5: kind of gets you into that role.
- 23:58Speaker 4: I wonder Jack if you left at the same time.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Message that I laughed at, Yeah, a couple the one
- 24:02Speaker 4: about the in cels. No, I laughed at it.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Said, how are you going to get a thousand in
- 24:08Speaker 5: cells to go find women to have kids?
- 24:11Speaker 4: I like the one at seven seven zero three when
- 24:13Speaker 4: it's funny. This game leads them to want to have kids,
- 24:16Speaker 4: which will then lead them to not have time to
- 24:18Speaker 4: play video games.
- 24:19Speaker 3: That's wild. Oh you know, the game itself is phenomenal.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Definitely made me miss my little sister.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Wow.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Just takes that in and it's fight and going back
- 24:30Speaker 3: to this it said. Psychotherapist Stephanie Sarkas says, it's no
- 24:33Speaker 3: wonder that some of the men who've played Pragmata have
- 24:36Speaker 3: expressed a newfound desire for fatherhood. It's about experiencing a
- 24:40Speaker 3: caregiving role and maybe the first time that someone's ever
- 24:43Speaker 3: experienced that because young men really aren't asked to do
- 24:46Speaker 3: that anymore. True, you know, they're just simply not asked
- 24:48Speaker 3: to have responsibilities like that anymore. Well, I had to
- 24:51Speaker 3: take care of my little sister. We were latchkey kids.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I'm sure everybody out there listening probably had a situation
- 24:55Speaker 3: like that. My sister is I think five years younger
- 24:57Speaker 3: than me, and so when we came home from school,
- 25:00Speaker 3: we were there by ourselves for hours. At the time,
- 25:03Speaker 3: and I was responsible for her safety. So I've kind
- 25:05Speaker 3: of had this in my life for a while.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I think this is kind of it's instinctual for men.
- 25:11Speaker 4: I think it reawakens the instinct of protection and providing
- 25:17Speaker 4: that young men are kind of maybe out there confused
- 25:19Speaker 4: about exactly what their role is supposed to be in
- 25:21Speaker 4: a relationship. Sure, right, if you're in a dual income household,
- 25:25Speaker 4: you know, you don't kill the spiders, you catch them
- 25:27Speaker 4: and put outside. So what is my role? I think
- 25:29Speaker 4: this helps men go hell, yeah, I could be that guy.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's it's really interesting because you know, again,
- 25:35Speaker 3: you don't really see young men kind of feeling that
- 25:38Speaker 3: way anymore.
- 25:38Speaker 4: You don't.
- 25:39Speaker 3: You don't really hear people talking about that kind of
- 25:40Speaker 3: something I want to have to get I want to
- 25:42Speaker 3: do this, and it just seems like that's not part
- 25:44Speaker 3: of the manosphere.
- 25:45Speaker 9: Bro.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's there. That's a good point.
- 25:48Speaker 3: It's just they're discovering parts of themselves that they may
- 25:50Speaker 3: not express in day to day life. In other words,
- 25:53Speaker 3: in the group of people they may hang with and
- 25:55Speaker 3: video like gamer world. I mean, who has conversations about
- 25:58Speaker 3: being a father at sixteen or seventeen years old.
- 26:00Speaker 4: You know, it's just that you don't want them to
- 26:02Speaker 4: have those conversations at sixteen seventeen years.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I think you do think.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I think I know when they're inties.
- 26:09Speaker 5: But I think discussing the idea of being a dad
- 26:12Speaker 5: young and the responsibility of it, not having a kid young,
- 26:15Speaker 5: but the idea of talking about it is a giant jump,
- 26:18Speaker 5: is it not?
- 26:19Speaker 4: It is?
- 26:20Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, but you also to the other extreme,
- 26:23Speaker 5: you don't want to go overboard where you know, it's
- 26:26Speaker 5: not as easy as playing a video game. Parenthood is
- 26:28Speaker 5: a little more complex, but it requires a lot more
- 26:32Speaker 5: of you.
- 26:33Speaker 4: But the conversation that gets opened up with that if
- 26:35Speaker 4: you're playing is interesting because I'm I'm telling you, young
- 26:38Speaker 4: men is a rule there. There's this weird thing we
- 26:42Speaker 4: talk about the in cels. It's like they don't want
- 26:44Speaker 4: to get advice my son. And this is an old
- 26:46Speaker 4: adage for the longest time, like my son will listen
- 26:51Speaker 4: to other people before he will listen to me sometimes
- 26:53Speaker 4: because he doesn't. I don't know how to explain it is,
- 26:57Speaker 4: Oh no, I completely understand.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's it's kind of weird because I'll use
- 27:01Speaker 3: golf as an example and I know that's a stupid example,
- 27:03Speaker 3: but I'll give this is the latest we've experienced like this.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Like I'll give him a little tip or whatever, and
- 27:08Speaker 3: he'll do one swing when it goes Dad, that doesn't work.
- 27:10Speaker 3: One swing, you know, Dad, it doesn't work, and then
- 27:12Speaker 3: go to YouTube. Even though he's seen me play golf.
- 27:16Speaker 2: He knows.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I know what I'm doing. He knows, But it's just
- 27:18Speaker 3: it's that weird thing where certain people only like to
- 27:21Speaker 3: have certain conversations with certain people about certain things. And
- 27:25Speaker 3: if you don't fit that mold, if you're if your
- 27:27Speaker 3: block doesn't go into that shape, you're not going to
- 27:29Speaker 3: get that conversation.
- 27:31Speaker 4: I think you might be the first parent to experience
- 27:34Speaker 4: a kid who thinks your advice doesn't rank with what
- 27:38Speaker 4: they find online. It's so funny because I hear that
- 27:41Speaker 4: out of every parent. Yeah, why does my kid listen
- 27:44Speaker 4: to strangers? Do they know I've done this?
- 27:49Speaker 9: Now?
- 27:49Speaker 5: You're not the youngest, are you, Jack? I have one
- 27:52Speaker 5: younger sister, she's two years young. Did you have to
- 27:54Speaker 5: take care of your sister? Not really? With the ages
- 27:58Speaker 5: and with my mom working. My sister the next sister
- 28:02Speaker 5: up was four years older than me. She kind of
- 28:05Speaker 5: had more responsibility to watch the two of us. Yeah,
- 28:08Speaker 5: me and my younger sister would fight more. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 5: and it's wild. Did you have to deal with that?
- 28:13Speaker 4: Oh? I was a latchkey kid from I mean, and
- 28:16Speaker 4: we're latchkey kids, like when you weren't supposed to be
- 28:20Speaker 4: a latchkey kid. So I don't know if your parents
- 28:22Speaker 4: ever did this, but my mom always made sure before
- 28:24Speaker 4: she left. Make sure you don't answer the phone. If
- 28:27Speaker 4: you do, just say I'm in the shower. Don't tell
- 28:29Speaker 4: anybody that you're here alone, because they'll take you away.
- 28:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 3: I'd get home exactly. I'd get home from we'd get
- 28:34Speaker 3: home from school at three o'clock.
- 28:36Speaker 4: With the house keyana, shoe string around your neck, just.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Hitting around the house. But I was hitting in the spot,
- 28:40Speaker 3: not under the mat, you know, the stereotypical thing. We
- 28:42Speaker 3: would go into the house, we would lock the doors
- 28:44Speaker 3: behind us, and we were not allowed to go outside
- 28:46Speaker 3: until she got home, which was usually around five thirty. Yep,
- 28:48Speaker 3: So that was exactly when she got off at work
- 28:50Speaker 3: at five o'clock. Worked at a bank. She would drive home.
- 28:52Speaker 3: We lived out in the middle of the woods. She'd
- 28:54Speaker 3: get there, and we could go out and do whatever
- 28:55Speaker 3: we wanted, but I had to make sure that we
- 28:56Speaker 3: stayed in the house and no turning on the stove
- 28:59Speaker 3: or anything like that. And I had to make sure
- 29:00Speaker 3: my sister didn't eat anything she wasn't supposed to.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Do your homework, do your chores.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I wonder, are you and your brother were close younger, Yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 3: oh yeah, but we fought. See it's wild because my
- 29:13Speaker 3: sister and I fought. We were not but we're not
- 29:16Speaker 3: really super close because we're just such different people. Were
- 29:20Speaker 3: not really close, even though I was like her protector
- 29:23Speaker 3: for years when she was young. Maybe not even remember that,
- 29:25Speaker 3: but it just it was kind of weird how that happened.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I wonder if that had any any impact on it,
- 29:31Speaker 3: Like having a responsibility over somebody like that. Maybe as
- 29:33Speaker 3: a young man, I looked at that as a responsibility
- 29:36Speaker 3: I didn't want and really kind of didn't like it. Well,
- 29:38Speaker 3: I remember, I didn't remember.
- 29:39Speaker 4: That my brother resenting getting advice from me all the time.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I didn't ask you for your advice or girl, if
- 29:46Speaker 4: you remember, I mean, he gave such a moving speech
- 29:48Speaker 4: at my wedding that he actually made me ball.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so good. So yeah, all right for the
- 29:53Speaker 3: seven nine one text us at seven to seven zero.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Threw, can you imagine when he's like a cash the
- 30:00Speaker 4: check already we did it.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I cannot believe you didn't get group ass kickings from
- 30:05Speaker 3: your family. I cannot believe it. Who Jack, what.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Do you mean?
- 30:08Speaker 3: What do you mean the only boy six six? That's
- 30:12Speaker 3: why I said group as they could gang up on
- 30:15Speaker 3: his assid because.
- 30:16Speaker 4: What they were all probably cycling at the same time
- 30:19Speaker 4: that poor boy was trapped, Yeah, trapped. Can you imagine
- 30:22Speaker 4: six sisters six cycling at the same time.
- 30:28Speaker 3: I'm glitching like McConnell right now or all right, four, seven,
- 30:36Speaker 3: nine and six. That's McConnell, blitch my bad. Everything's fine now,
- 30:40Speaker 3: all right, okay, good, okay, yeah, I'm fully back now,

- 30:54Speaker 3: Friend, Yes, two.
- 30:56Speaker 10: Women got getting parking tickets. Not true.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Believe me.
- 31:01Speaker 10: There's a guy who shows up every morning for parking
- 31:04Speaker 10: enforcement at an hour early, and he's plucking in seven
- 31:10Speaker 10: twenty five and hit the roll scampo some tickies. Yeah,
- 31:14Speaker 10: at your old producer, Fluffy. He's the number one man
- 31:17Speaker 10: in parking enforcement. Give him a hollow one day.
- 31:22Speaker 4: It is Fluffy? Is he really he's telling.
- 31:28Speaker 5: You your producer from thirty years ago?
- 31:32Speaker 2: Is it?
- 31:32Speaker 3: Rich Lerner?
- 31:33Speaker 8: Was his namer?
- 31:34Speaker 3: Rich Something wasn't Kennedy Rich Kennedy? There you go, unreal, dude, Wow,
- 31:39Speaker 3: it's wild all right. Four seven nine one six. I
- 31:41Speaker 3: haven't heard that name in years, dude, four seven nine
- 31:43Speaker 3: six four one. Fluffy killed snack time text us at
- 31:46Speaker 3: seven seven zero three one. Welcome back on Jim, there's dead. Hello,
- 31:49Speaker 3: Tack is here as well.
- 31:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:50Speaker 3: I didn't know that story either.
- 31:51Speaker 5: That snack time, Yeah yeah, Jim Phillips said snack time
- 31:54Speaker 5: at four to twenty every day. Yeah, in at four
- 31:56Speaker 5: twenty to four to thirty break about time you get
- 31:58Speaker 5: hungry in the afternoon. We used to have food outside
- 32:01Speaker 5: the studio and it was actually in these studios and
- 32:05Speaker 5: there was some ketchup on the keyboard and Fluffy complained
- 32:10Speaker 5: about it, and then the engineer said, no food in
- 32:13Speaker 5: the studios or this side of the building. So yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 5: on the Phillip stile we had the phrase Fluffy killed
- 32:19Speaker 5: snack guy.
- 32:25Speaker 3: So have you guys ever seen any posts from girls
- 32:29Speaker 3: on wild Yeah, on Instagram, on Instagram about how much
- 32:33Speaker 3: money they make it OnlyFans? Have you ever seen in
- 32:37Speaker 3: your algorithm?
- 32:38Speaker 2: Bro?
- 32:38Speaker 3: So yeah, So when you roll through it, it'll show
- 32:43Speaker 3: you like they'll they'll go, you know, we decided to
- 32:45Speaker 3: do this or whatever the case may be, and then
- 32:47Speaker 3: they will post. Now again, you don't know if it's
- 32:49Speaker 3: true or not. And the one I saw today, I mean,
- 32:51Speaker 3: I can't imagine it being true, but I don't know
- 32:54Speaker 3: how much money you I mean, we hear all these
- 32:56Speaker 3: numbers from these girls who started doing only Fans. I
- 32:59Speaker 3: mean you hear third forty fifty million dollars in earnings.
- 33:02Speaker 3: We did hear the story about the actress that was
- 33:04Speaker 3: able to pay off for eight hundred thousand dollars home
- 33:07Speaker 3: of her mother in just a few hours on only Fans.
- 33:09Speaker 3: When you joined the woman from a Sopranos Yeah, Tomato date,
- 33:15Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, never mind. Where you know, give yourself, go ahead,
- 33:19Speaker 3: do it, do it right? What state do you believe
- 33:24Speaker 3: has the number one? What state is the number one
- 33:28Speaker 3: user of only fans? User that means people ill getting
- 33:34Speaker 3: to pay money.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Women out of one hundred and sixty cities across by
- 33:38Speaker 3: the way, it's always women.
- 33:39Speaker 4: H the one hundred and sixty cities. Oh, what is it?
- 33:42Speaker 3: But it could be everything? I mean, it could be
- 33:43Speaker 3: anything more. No, I don't know anymore. I just know
- 33:45Speaker 3: it's not all ladies. Look, they're making the most, but
- 33:47Speaker 3: there are some dudes out there, I'm sure making some
- 33:49Speaker 3: money as well, and some gay dudes out there making
- 33:50Speaker 3: some money. And some lesbians they're making some money. Yep,
- 33:53Speaker 3: making a buck or two the city or state state first,
- 33:58Speaker 3: then we'll get into the rest of it. I'm sorry,
- 34:00Speaker 3: I said California, deb said Nevata. It's not It's Georgia.
- 34:04Speaker 3: How about that?
- 34:05Speaker 4: Oh college kids?
- 34:06Speaker 3: Hotlanta, baby, Oh, oh, Hotlanta is the number one spender
- 34:11Speaker 3: of money. That's what they have here. How much money
- 34:14Speaker 3: do you think that people in Atlanta alone spent on
- 34:17Speaker 3: only fans in twenty twenty five total number, yeah, total number?
- 34:22Speaker 4: Uh, thirty million. Oh, I was going to one hundred
- 34:28Speaker 4: and sixty million.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Yeah, twenty six point two million dollars, Jack is a
- 34:31Speaker 3: very good goal. Twenty six pointy two million dollars in
- 34:35Speaker 3: just Atlanta, right, How do you think Orlando fared fifteen
- 34:42Speaker 3: half of that?
- 34:47Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 34:47Speaker 3: I agree, eleven yeah, fourteen million. Oh wow, we're number two.
- 34:51Speaker 3: We're the number two city for only fans consumption.
- 34:55Speaker 4: Which makes sense. I mean, churisty.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Explain that, because I didn't understand. That's the one thing
- 35:01Speaker 3: I wanted to try to figure out is like, why
- 35:03Speaker 3: is Orlando, Like I mean, you figure like La Nevada
- 35:06Speaker 3: a salt lake city for that matter, because they don't
- 35:09Speaker 3: have much of that in the state. And I don't
- 35:10Speaker 3: even know if can you get to only fans in
- 35:12Speaker 3: Salt lakesity in Utah?
- 35:13Speaker 4: Oh? I don't know.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Oh, we know they're pent up out there. A couple
- 35:17Speaker 3: of people guess that Alaska another area where there's limited
- 35:21Speaker 3: engagement with women up there because it's mostly dudes. You
- 35:24Speaker 3: would figure that would also be a number one thing
- 35:26Speaker 3: that's not in there. Now, what county in Orlando do
- 35:29Speaker 3: you believe spent the most per ten thousand residents on
- 35:35Speaker 3: only fans? What county in Florida?
- 35:37Speaker 4: Okay? What county in Florida? So I was just gonna say,
- 35:39Speaker 4: with Orlando, that would only be Orange County.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm saying in Orlando it is it's Orange County,
- 35:44Speaker 3: one hundred and eight, eight hundred and eighty six dollars
- 35:47Speaker 3: per ten thousand residents for a total of sixteen point
- 35:50Speaker 3: seven million. It said fourteen in the story, but sixteen
- 35:53Speaker 3: seven just an Orange county. Wow, what do you think
- 35:55Speaker 3: the number two county is you're laughing?
- 36:01Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Deval No, that's super funny and not l
- 36:04Speaker 5: It's so big, so big, that's why. What's some of
- 36:07Speaker 5: Miami down there?
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah? No, Osiola County number two? Really, that's the crazy run.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Sixty nine thousand per per ten thousand residents per a
- 36:18Speaker 3: three point three million dollar total, just in Osiola County,
- 36:21Speaker 3: paying for OnlyFans content. It goes. Belusia is next number three,
- 36:26Speaker 3: Seminoles number four, Marion, Polk, Brevard Lake, Flagler, Sumter. These
- 36:32Speaker 3: are the central Florida areas alone, and that's where they
- 36:34Speaker 3: make the money. That's pretty crazy, right.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Why yeah?
- 36:39Speaker 3: Why?
- 36:39Speaker 2: What?
- 36:40Speaker 3: Why? I don't know? Why is it crazy? Do I think?
- 36:43Speaker 2: No?
- 36:43Speaker 4: Why is it so popular here?
- 36:46Speaker 3: I don't know? But in Florida is the number two
- 36:48Speaker 3: state for it. I mean, you know, they shut the
- 36:51Speaker 3: they shut the well. You can't go to certain porn
- 36:55Speaker 3: sites in Florid anymore, right without verifying your age by
- 36:58Speaker 3: downloading your ID or whatever. Yeah, there's plenty out there.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Yeah I don't.
- 37:03Speaker 8: I mean but.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Nex video knockout, no X videos. I think all those
- 37:09Speaker 3: are shut down. Buddy, Have you used X videos?
- 37:11Speaker 4: Well, don't talk about it, Okay, No, not today, dude.
- 37:15Speaker 3: You have you been have you visited since the band?
- 37:18Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, yeah, it's fine. Have you ever been to
- 37:25Speaker 4: only fans? I looked at it.
- 37:28Speaker 2: One.
- 37:28Speaker 3: I've never looked at it. I've never gone to it
- 37:30Speaker 3: because it wan a credit card though, need a credit card.
- 37:32Speaker 3: It seems kind of wild. Have you ever gone to OnlyFans?
- 37:35Speaker 4: Depth?
- 37:35Speaker 8: Nothing?
- 37:35Speaker 3: No, I I And the funny thing is is you
- 37:38Speaker 3: you see people online like advertising their thing. I mean
- 37:41Speaker 3: this one girl in town was driving around with her
- 37:43Speaker 3: advertising on her back window. Remember that girl, Yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 4: The one who got her kids kept out of Christian school? Yeah, yep,
- 37:49Speaker 4: remember that. That's what you want to be known for.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Well, there was another woman who was in town who
- 37:58Speaker 5: got who had two kids at a school and they
- 38:01Speaker 5: didn't want her. You know, part of a thing. Now
- 38:04Speaker 5: it's Piper girl whatever right now? Not Piper, another one
- 38:08Speaker 5: is a piper faun or faun piper or something like that.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm snooky. Is not snooky? What is it?
- 38:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Is it snooky with an I or an I E
- 38:16Speaker 4: or a Y jack? Very important? Let me check my.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Let me check my credit card, check your back check
- 38:25Speaker 3: your bank balance checks out spelled?
- 38:28Speaker 4: Yeah all right? Oh wait, I got distracted.
- 38:31Speaker 5: But anyway, a parent of another kid turned her in,
- 38:36Speaker 5: meaning they saw her only fans, oh man, and then
- 38:39Speaker 5: outed her so she couldn't be a dividend or whatever
- 38:43Speaker 5: it is in Orange County, you know, to be able
- 38:46Speaker 5: to volunteer in the classroom.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Oh that's right. This one girl that I was just
- 38:50Speaker 3: telling you about a second ago claims that her and
- 38:51Speaker 3: her husband make about two million dollars a month doing
- 38:54Speaker 3: only fans. Now, I'm sure they're not. You know, it's
- 38:56Speaker 3: not a baking show.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Hey, listen. There's a lady in England who jars, farts
- 39:00Speaker 4: and makes money off the internet. You can pretty much
- 39:02Speaker 4: find a way to make money any I gotta tell you.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I asked my wife this one time, and I think
- 39:05Speaker 3: I've asked you. I don't know if I asked you
- 39:07Speaker 3: in the air I'm here, Yeah I did, Yeah, like,
- 39:10Speaker 3: but with my wife. I asked her, I said, how
- 39:12Speaker 3: do you like when you think about the idea of
- 39:15Speaker 3: you know, about what you could do, you know, the
- 39:18Speaker 3: way you look, you know and things. If you started
- 39:20Speaker 3: an only fans account, how much money you get? I said,
- 39:23Speaker 3: is that a weird feeling? Because I don't. I can't.
- 39:26Speaker 3: I can't produce that feeling like I could never think about. Well,
- 39:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna go on OnlyFans. I'm gonna start a channel,
- 39:31Speaker 3: and I'm going to be instantaneously rich within six months.
- 39:34Speaker 4: I'm going to be rich beyond my my wildest dream.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Give back in the bathtub with your headphones and a cigar.
- 39:39Speaker 4: You might just make it up.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Trust me, Ain's gonna happen like that. But you know,
- 39:42Speaker 3: I asked my wife and I said, do you I
- 39:44Speaker 3: mean when you think about that, the idea of like
- 39:47Speaker 3: every financial goal you've ever wanted to meet in your life,
- 39:50Speaker 3: and then some could be achieved easily in one year
- 39:55Speaker 3: because you're a pretty girl and dudes are crazy. I said,
- 39:59Speaker 3: do you how does that make you feel? And she said,
- 40:02Speaker 3: I don't even think about it at all because I
- 40:04Speaker 3: would never consider doing it, so it's never a thought.
- 40:06Speaker 3: And I guess it's just kind of on me. Yeah,
- 40:08Speaker 3: but it's kind of wild man, just thinking about if
- 40:10Speaker 3: you're if you're a cute girl theoretically and you just
- 40:13Speaker 3: wanted to you could you could set yourself up for
- 40:16Speaker 3: life in a year.
- 40:17Speaker 4: No, no, you can't because you have to set yourself
- 40:20Speaker 4: apart from the rest because you are not a Dre
- 40:23Speaker 4: Di Matteo or whatever. You don't have the name recognition,
- 40:26Speaker 4: you don't have the celebrity go to behind it. It's
- 40:28Speaker 4: no different than thinking you're gonna go and be like
- 40:32Speaker 4: the best stripper or the best we can promote you. Yeah,
- 40:35Speaker 4: I just not for the trade off. Not for the
- 40:39Speaker 4: trade off.
- 40:39Speaker 3: I gotta tell you, I think I think you're way
- 40:42Speaker 3: off on.
- 40:42Speaker 4: This three and a half and that's my final lie.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I think you're way off in this. I'll tell you why.
- 40:47Speaker 3: I believe within just our radio audience that you would
- 40:50Speaker 3: be a millionaire by the end of the year. With
- 40:52Speaker 3: just the radio audience, if we never advertised anywhere else,
- 40:56Speaker 3: by the end of this year, you could create a
- 40:58Speaker 3: million dollars in revenue.
- 41:00Speaker 4: One thousand per I would bet a thousand on it.
- 41:02Speaker 5: As their manager, who now gets three and a half percent,
- 41:06Speaker 5: what do we start shaking? What do we literally start shaking?
- 41:12Speaker 4: What do we are? Are we sell only in the
- 41:14Speaker 4: foot area or are you talking.
- 41:16Speaker 3: No for the million bucks? Yeah, it's gonna be way
- 41:19Speaker 3: more than you gotta go up some I don't know.
- 41:21Speaker 3: You gotta travel up that road a little bit. You're
- 41:23Speaker 3: you're not gonna get away with feet just like that.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I mean. The thing is, I think those fetish areas
- 41:26Speaker 3: have kind of been dominated but intended. But I do
- 41:31Speaker 3: believe if you had a little name recognition like just this,
- 41:35Speaker 3: any of the news girls in Orlando, any of the
- 41:38Speaker 3: ladies that you see on doing a late or afternoon news,
- 41:43Speaker 3: any one of those ladies, any one of them could
- 41:46Speaker 3: be a millionaire by Christmas without question if they could
- 41:50Speaker 3: just mentioned on the air once a week. Oh by
- 41:53Speaker 3: the way, I've got an only fans, here's my thing. Yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 3: it would, it would. It would crash the system, dude,
- 41:58Speaker 3: you would. It would be the same for you. It's
- 42:00Speaker 3: so was it. I don't know why that intrigues me
- 42:03Speaker 3: so much that the idea that you could do that.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Now again, the newsgirls would not do that because there
- 42:08Speaker 4: wouldn't be a job on the air, because that would
- 42:10Speaker 4: ruin your credibility.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Yes, it would, You're right, So.
- 42:13Speaker 4: You'd have to trade one career for the other and
- 42:15Speaker 4: hope the only fans can go long enough that you
- 42:19Speaker 4: can make that into a career. And I think that's
- 42:20Speaker 4: what a lot of influencers don't think about. It's hitting. Now,
- 42:25Speaker 4: what do you do five years from now, right when
- 42:28Speaker 4: you didn't go to school, when you didn't get that job,
- 42:30Speaker 4: and you're no longer that twenty two to twenty three
- 42:33Speaker 4: hot piece of ass. Right right now, when you're in
- 42:35Speaker 4: your thirties and your forties, couple of kids, and now
- 42:38Speaker 4: you're selling farts in a jar. You know what I'm saying.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Nothing is free.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Far farts in the jar. But remember when it was
- 42:49Speaker 3: just gross where you can sell your underwear and that
- 42:51Speaker 3: was like, okay, well I won't do that. And now
- 42:52Speaker 3: it's like, you know, hey, you want to say this.
- 42:54Speaker 4: It's just about anything and everything.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Really.
- 42:57Speaker 4: I mean, I've always joked that I would, you know,
- 42:59Speaker 4: have a a story time channel where I, you know,
- 43:02Speaker 4: had a lollipop and you carry glasses some deck letagh.
- 43:06Speaker 3: I gotta tell you, I think you could do it again.
- 43:08Speaker 3: I'm not trying to talk you into this.
- 43:09Speaker 4: I'm just I was gonna say, please, are you trying
- 43:11Speaker 4: to tell me that my radio career is coming to
- 43:13Speaker 4: an end? Jack? Will you please look me in the
- 43:15Speaker 4: eye here. We don't know. We could get an email
- 43:17Speaker 4: any second, That's all I'm saying.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Like the one we got right before the employement.
- 43:22Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that was great. That made me feel so
- 43:25Speaker 4: comfortable that.
- 43:26Speaker 3: The first thing I heard when I walked in a
- 43:27Speaker 3: guy wants everything you get the email, And I'm like, God,
- 43:29Speaker 3: I don't want to hear that. Get the f out
- 43:33Speaker 3: of her. May I will be on only fans, I'll
- 43:35Speaker 3: call myself. No, I can't say that.
- 43:39Speaker 4: Theoretically, we could do a radio show on only fans.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Right, we could.
- 43:43Speaker 4: What are you guys going to do? I mean, what
- 43:45Speaker 4: are you get to show?
- 43:46Speaker 3: It doesn't have to be nudity? Yeah it does though
- 43:49Speaker 3: a little bit does it. I think that's where you
- 43:50Speaker 3: make the money.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Jack, Now that that's what not If we're selling, it
- 43:53Speaker 5: could be a platform to sell your to have a show.
- 43:57Speaker 3: That's interesting. I wonder if anybody does that. Do people
- 43:59Speaker 3: just do shows on only fans because you have to
- 44:01Speaker 3: you have to pay for it? Right? Let me look
- 44:04Speaker 3: on your computer no, there's no only fans on this, buddy.
- 44:07Speaker 3: I'm horrified of it. I would never even type the
- 44:09Speaker 3: thing into my browser. I would never do that.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Can you guys imagine the person who was the most
- 44:14Speaker 4: uncomfortable and the most unhappy about doing karaoke actually doing
- 44:18Speaker 4: anything on camera with only fans.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Yeah, my god, yeah yeah yeah girl.
- 44:25Speaker 4: No, I'm I'm always skulking in the background not to
- 44:27Speaker 4: be seen. I can't. I wait.
- 44:29Speaker 5: I cried it to you dad for getting up on
- 44:31Speaker 5: that stage for karaoke without even doing a shot or anything.
- 44:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean you did it.
- 44:36Speaker 3: You just got up there and it.
- 44:37Speaker 4: It was forced sober karaoke. You know. It was only
- 44:40Speaker 4: the second time I've ever karaoke in my life. Really,
- 44:43Speaker 4: I don't karaoke?
- 44:44Speaker 3: What what song did you do the first time?
- 44:46Speaker 4: I don't remember.
- 44:48Speaker 3: How long ago was.
- 44:49Speaker 4: It, like thirty years? You did a good job. Thank you.
- 44:51Speaker 3: I mean you're a good YMC backup singer.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Well, you know, you gave a great piece of advice yesterday.
- 44:56Speaker 4: You said you just have to lean in. You can't.
- 44:59Speaker 4: You just gotta lean in. You gotta have fun, you gotta.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Just everybody's doing it.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Everybody's doing it.
- 45:04Speaker 5: You're not gonna be worse than anybody else. Can't be
- 45:07Speaker 5: up there giving it thirty percent. Dot it begrudge the.
- 45:09Speaker 4: Exactly because you'll look like you're doing it thirty percent
- 45:12Speaker 4: and doing it begrudgingly. And that's not going to look
- 45:14Speaker 4: good for all the other staff members who did put
- 45:16Speaker 4: more work into theirs. But I gotta say, guys, for
- 45:19Speaker 4: three people who didn't figure out our act until about
- 45:22Speaker 4: six thirty last night, I've all we did a good.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Job, not bad at all. I agree.
- 45:26Speaker 8: One.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I want to let you guys both know I stood
- 45:28Speaker 3: up for us when we walked in the building, and
- 45:30Speaker 3: I let the boss know a questionable choice here with
- 45:36Speaker 3: a karaoke questionable choice said, I love you, You're great,

- 48:21Speaker 4: Go to the back of the line. We're going number five.
- 48:23Speaker 3: That's good. There we go.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Carry.
- 48:25Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 48:26Speaker 9: I'm good?
- 48:26Speaker 3: How are you doing?
- 48:27Speaker 2: Great?
- 48:27Speaker 3: Carry? Want to play a little game with us?
- 48:30Speaker 4: Sure, let's do it.
- 48:34Speaker 6: A game?
- 48:36Speaker 3: All right, Carry? This is a real easy game. But
- 48:38Speaker 3: a question here for you have four answers. One of
- 48:40Speaker 3: these answers is not true, Carrie. What you're looking for?
- 48:43Speaker 3: The fake?
- 48:43Speaker 4: When I'm trying to fool you, but you can find it.
- 48:45Speaker 3: I'll send you over to see Jack and his Jackie sack,
- 48:47Speaker 3: and there's some cool things in there. Are you ready?
- 48:50Speaker 4: I am here?
- 48:51Speaker 3: We go on this day. In two thousand and five,
- 48:54Speaker 3: University of Virginia student Steve Huffman and Alexis o'hanian created
- 48:58Speaker 3: the website Reddit. On this day, here are three fund
- 49:03Speaker 3: facts about Reddit and one brutal sub of a line.
- 49:06Speaker 3: All right, we're talking about the website Reddit, Carrie, which
- 49:09Speaker 3: one of these is not true? Number one? The founders
- 49:12Speaker 3: sold Reddit after sixteen months from launching it for thirty
- 49:16Speaker 3: to fifty million dollars. It's now worth thirty five billion.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Number two. Reddit is the eighth most popular website in
- 49:24Speaker 3: the world. Number three, the alien in Reddit's famous logo
- 49:29Speaker 3: is named snow. Or lastly, twenty twenty five was the
- 49:33Speaker 3: very first profitable year for Reddit. Which of those is
- 49:36Speaker 3: a lie.
- 49:38Speaker 5: Let's go with number four.
- 49:40Speaker 3: No, that's absolutely true. Last year was the first year
- 49:43Speaker 3: that Reddit turned to profit. Wow, which is crazy. It
- 49:47Speaker 3: is all right, deb one, two, three, or four.
- 49:49Speaker 4: We're gonna go two.
- 49:50Speaker 3: We're gonna go two. All right, let's go to I
- 49:52Speaker 3: like that. Two's fine.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Let's go with Andrew. Andrew, how you doing good? Thank good, buddy.
- 49:57Speaker 3: We're talking about the website Reddit. Which one of these
- 49:59Speaker 3: is not true? The founders. Number one, the founders sold
- 50:01Speaker 3: Reddit after just sixteen months after it launched for thirty
- 50:04Speaker 3: to fifty million dollars. It's now worth thirty five billion.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Number two, Reddit is the most is the eighth most
- 50:10Speaker 3: popular website in the world. Or lastly, the alien in
- 50:12Speaker 3: Reddit's famous logo is named snow.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Number one is the answer about you're a winner.
- 50:20Speaker 8: Yay.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Hey, do you know how much they actually sold it for?
- 50:26Speaker 2: I have absolutely no idea.
- 50:28Speaker 3: Ten to twenty million dollars. It's now worth thirty five
- 50:32Speaker 3: billion dollars. Oh, it was bought by condy nast. Oh
- 50:36Speaker 3: that and then they just put the juice on it
- 50:39Speaker 3: and jacked it up. And yeah, that's like that Apple dude.
- 50:42Speaker 4: I was gonna say, that reminds me of so many
- 50:44Speaker 4: tech Yeah, wal.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Yeah, Jobs in WASNEI act started Apple, but there was
- 50:48Speaker 3: a third guy. Yeah, and the third guy was going
- 50:50Speaker 3: broke and his car broke down, so he needed to
- 50:52Speaker 3: buy a car, so he sold his shares of Apple.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I think back to Steve Jobs, and those shares now
- 50:57Speaker 3: would be worth like nineteen billion dollars. That's has to
- 51:02Speaker 3: jump off the building scenario. Reddit is the eighth most
- 51:05Speaker 3: popular website in the world. I did not know that.
- 51:07Speaker 3: And then the alien and reddits famous logo is snow.
- 51:11Speaker 3: You know what. That's short for What's new? Oh, What's new? Snow?
- 51:18Speaker 4: That makes sense just like Reddit. Oh, I already read it.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Well read, yeah, exactly what it is. Yeah, Reddit is
- 51:23Speaker 3: exactly that Reddit. I already read that. A couple other
- 51:27Speaker 3: things you may not know about Reddit before we get
- 51:28Speaker 3: to the top of the hour. Former President Barack Obama
- 51:31Speaker 3: sat for an ask Me Anything thread, which is a
- 51:33Speaker 3: lot of people do this thing, and it completely crashed
- 51:37Speaker 3: the website. He did that in twenty twelve. Wow, fifty
- 51:41Speaker 3: one percent of reddits traffic originates in the US. All
- 51:46Speaker 3: of the users that were on Reddit when it launched
- 51:48Speaker 3: were completely fake because it had no it had no history,
- 51:52Speaker 3: so they had to create some history, and they just
- 51:54Speaker 3: basically created a bunch of content put it up on
- 51:57Speaker 3: the site so that when you saw it, you thought
- 51:59Speaker 3: some things were happening, and it jump started the conversations
- 52:02Speaker 3: and off they went. Uh, what percentage of Reddit users
- 52:07Speaker 3: are male? Oohevende seventy sixty one sixty is the answer?
- 52:15Speaker 3: A good job, wows now? And then lastly here half
- 52:18Speaker 3: of US Reddit users are males between the ages of
- 52:22Speaker 3: eighteen and forty nine. Yeah, do you ever go there? Oh? Yeah, Yeah,
- 52:26Speaker 3: it's an interesting website.
- 52:28Speaker 4: It's an interesting website. And when it really helps is
- 52:30Speaker 4: when I'm filling in for a host for you, because
- 52:32Speaker 4: there's always a talker there.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Yeah. And the funny thing is it's the last place
- 52:36Speaker 3: I go every day when I when I write the show.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Of all the websites, it's the last one I visit.
- 52:41Speaker 3: I want to give the morning as much of a
- 52:42Speaker 3: chance to load up with ridiculousness as possible in that
- 52:46Speaker 3: dot there and then and then it's also the last
- 52:48Speaker 3: one I read before we go on the air, just
- 52:49Speaker 3: to see if anything new popped up, because I mean,
- 52:51Speaker 3: there's some great stuff that happened. Yes there is a
- 52:54Speaker 3: right four oh seven nine six four one text us
- 52:56Speaker 3: at seven seven is zero three one back in a
- 52:58Speaker 3: second with more than Jim Colbert show say right there.
- 53:01Speaker 7: Well, actually, there were a couple of comedians that did
- 53:03Speaker 7: live shows or shows on only Fans to get attention.
- 53:07Speaker 7: It only really worked for female comedians because guys, they're
- 53:09Speaker 7: done enough to pay for it and think they might
- 53:11Speaker 7: get naked, but they're not. It's just a state of comedy.
- 53:14Speaker 7: But it got her footing. A couple of people footing
- 53:16Speaker 7: the door, no pun intendent, but they're on kill Tony,
- 53:19Speaker 7: and they.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Talked about a few times out.
- 53:20Speaker 7: So female comics did do it there well, or comedy
- 53:24Speaker 7: should say on only events have a great date.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Tell you, buddy, I appreciate that. Yet the Texan Service kind
- 53:29Speaker 3: of corrected me, which they do all the time, and
- 53:31Speaker 3: I appreciate regularly. Thank you guys. No ego involved here
- 53:34Speaker 3: at all, but they said, yeah, it's uh, the number
- 53:37Speaker 3: one revenue producer on OnlyFans does not get naked.
- 53:43Speaker 4: That is good to know.
- 53:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't know. I mean, I look, I know
- 53:46Speaker 3: that some of the famous people look do have conversations
- 53:48Speaker 3: maybe in a in a shirt with something that you know,
- 53:51Speaker 3: but I don't. I don't think those dudes are doing
- 53:53Speaker 3: like you know, I don't think they're doing like graphic
- 53:55Speaker 3: content or anything like that. So yes, obviously you canna
- 53:57Speaker 3: make somebody doing it, all right, Yeah, there you go.
- 54:00Speaker 4: Right, love snow when you launch your page, you never know, man,
- 54:04Speaker 4: you never all right, welcome back, I'm Jim, there's dead
- 54:07Speaker 4: hell Jack is here as well.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Yeah, just let in Scott Brown the building. I haven't
- 54:10Speaker 3: seen him in a little while. And this summitch walked in
- 54:12Speaker 3: and like, uh, I said, are you Are you one
- 54:15Speaker 3: of Orlando's premier financial advisors or a dude who works
- 54:18Speaker 3: at Margaritaville because my man has shirts I think a
- 54:21Speaker 3: Whalen Jennings T shirt on and flip flops. And when
- 54:25Speaker 3: I let him in, when I opened the door let
- 54:27Speaker 3: him in, and I know he can hear me out there,
- 54:29Speaker 3: I just started laughing at him, and he started laughing
- 54:31Speaker 3: at me because he knew I can't even make eye
- 54:34Speaker 3: contact with you. Right now out of here with that,
- 54:36Speaker 3: So Scott Brown with it's only money coming up in
- 54:38Speaker 3: just a few minutes as well. You dressed like that
- 54:40Speaker 3: if you could. Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know you dressed
- 54:43Speaker 3: like that because you can for sure. Let me see
- 54:46Speaker 3: what else I have here, So you guys have do you?
- 54:49Speaker 3: Are you updated on your phone?
- 54:51Speaker 4: Jack?
- 54:52Speaker 5: I believe like the phone model itself is a recent phone.
- 54:56Speaker 5: It's a so you have a recent phone. You have
- 54:58Speaker 5: a working phone that you're with. Everything's fine, Deborah, how
- 55:01Speaker 5: are you on yours?
- 55:02Speaker 3: Good? You're good on yours?
- 55:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Well, I've mentioned that I need one, and my phone
- 55:06Speaker 3: reminds me daily that it is. It's tired. Yeah, it's tired.
- 55:10Speaker 3: It's it's so tired. And so I read the story
- 55:13Speaker 3: on a newsweek today and I guess I should probably
- 55:15Speaker 3: run out and buy one because have you seen what
- 55:16Speaker 3: they're expecting iPhones to be prices?
- 55:19Speaker 4: Yes? Because of microchips? Yes, yeah, yeah, it's supposed to
- 55:22Speaker 4: be like it.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Says that Apple. This is what Tim Cook said that
- 55:27Speaker 3: This is a gig Wall Street Journal interview that he
- 55:29Speaker 3: published on June seventeenth, saying, get ready for yourself, because
- 55:34Speaker 3: you're about to see some expensive phones. Cook said that
- 55:36Speaker 3: the company has spent months trying to absorb the cost
- 55:39Speaker 3: and shield customers from increases, but the situation has become
- 55:43Speaker 3: unsustainable as suppliers pass on steep price hikes for memory.
- 55:48Speaker 3: And the other thing's going to happen is is your
- 55:52Speaker 3: iPhone is going to get more expensive.
- 55:56Speaker 4: And they give you some numbers.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing. It's a percentage, and it says
- 56:00Speaker 3: that the average selling price is probably gonna go up
- 56:02Speaker 3: by twenty percent. And if it increases or if this this,
- 56:06Speaker 3: that could be like, you know, two hundred and fifty bucks. Yeah,
- 56:09Speaker 3: because it's one thousand dollars phone. Yeah, I mean they're
- 56:11Speaker 3: eight hundred to one thousand dollars sometimes a little more. Yeah,
- 56:13Speaker 3: it depends if you get the bigger one, more memory,
- 56:15Speaker 3: but you're per day volume. Are you're perdy used for that?
- 56:18Speaker 3: That's still one of the best purchases you'll make in
- 56:20Speaker 3: your life. Oh yeah, you agree with that, right?
- 56:22Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 56:22Speaker 3: Yeah, because I mean they never break. I mean I'm
- 56:24Speaker 3: on my phone never.
- 56:26Speaker 4: It's don't say that it's just slowing down.
- 56:29Speaker 3: This is only the third iPhone I've ever had, and
- 56:31Speaker 3: I got my first one in two thousand and eight
- 56:33Speaker 3: or nine.
- 56:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I think this is only my third one as well.
- 56:36Speaker 3: I think this is my third one. And but yeah,
- 56:39Speaker 3: they're saying it's you can go up by twenty percent
- 56:42Speaker 3: and a possibility of going up to forty percent.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it says a premium players like Samsung and Apple
- 56:50Speaker 3: A an Apple will raise their prices by ten percent initially,
- 56:53Speaker 3: but then if this doesn't kind of pan out, And
- 56:56Speaker 3: of course we know with AI systems or yeah, data
- 56:59Speaker 3: plants or data centers coming online, the ask for chips
- 57:03Speaker 3: is ridiculous right now. You remember the Ford Motor Company
- 57:07Speaker 3: had a problem with US a couple of years ago.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Do you guys remember that where there they were having
- 57:10Speaker 3: production issues, and they were they were making cars, but
- 57:13Speaker 3: the only thing the cars were short on were micro chips.
- 57:16Speaker 3: And they had them sitting in a giant in a
- 57:19Speaker 3: giant parking lot, and they're like, look at all these
- 57:21Speaker 3: brand new F one fifties, and not one of them
- 57:23Speaker 3: can go anywhere because none of them have chips. They
- 57:25Speaker 3: just built them expecting when the chips came that they're
- 57:28Speaker 3: gonna send employees out there and just pop the chips in.
- 57:30Speaker 5: When I got my car, I had to wait six
- 57:31Speaker 5: months for them to mail me the second key, the
- 57:35Speaker 5: backup key because of the micro chip. PA wo yeah,
- 57:40Speaker 5: I go, yeah here, we'll just mall it to you.
- 57:43Speaker 4: I'm like okay, says they did it.
- 57:46Speaker 3: Says Premium flagship flag flag ship models, including those by Apple, Samsung,
- 57:51Speaker 3: and Google, could see prices rise between five and ten
- 57:54Speaker 3: percent initially. Mid level Android devices could be a could
- 57:58Speaker 3: see an increase between ten and twenty percent, and entry
- 58:01Speaker 3: level Android phones could potentially see a forty percent increase
- 58:05Speaker 3: right off rip, like, right up front.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't afford that.
- 58:09Speaker 5: I was gonna say, you don't need the latest, you don't,
- 58:13Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, I usually this is my wife's hand
- 58:15Speaker 5: me down.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I don't ever buy a new phone. I always get
- 58:18Speaker 3: my wife's old one when she decides to upgrade because
- 58:21Speaker 3: I don't really do much with it, right, And it's
- 58:24Speaker 3: we we.
- 58:25Speaker 5: Kind of want the latest, so we want the best
- 58:27Speaker 5: battery life and whatever they're selling on the newest version.
- 58:31Speaker 5: But the changes have been so incremental moving, you know,
- 58:37Speaker 5: over the past few It's the one I have now,
- 58:40Speaker 5: it's not much different than the one I had three
- 58:42Speaker 5: years ago.
- 58:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 58:43Speaker 3: The funny thing is Jack. I agree with you. I'm
- 58:45Speaker 3: reading the story today. I'm like, it doesn't matter, it
- 58:48Speaker 3: doesn't matter. So good this is. This might as well
- 58:51Speaker 3: be a block of heroin.
- 58:53Speaker 2: There is.
- 58:53Speaker 3: There is no human being that's experienced a smartphone that
- 58:58Speaker 3: could ever I mean, you hear it's like, oh, we're
- 58:59Speaker 3: going back a flip phones? The hell you are? Really? Really,
- 59:03Speaker 3: you're gonna go back to the forties? Is that what
- 59:05Speaker 3: you're gonna do?
- 59:05Speaker 4: Buddy?
- 59:06Speaker 3: Is that what you're gona do? You go back to
- 59:07Speaker 3: the forties? Why not just get everything in newspapers again,
- 59:10Speaker 3: because that's what you're basically doing. You are literally pedaling backwards.
- 59:13Speaker 3: If you do that. If they charge two grand for
- 59:15Speaker 3: that thing, it's still be lines out the door.
- 59:18Speaker 4: Oh that's not a doubt.
- 59:19Speaker 3: I don't know that there's a price increase that would
- 59:22Speaker 3: keep people from buying smartphones. I think you would have
- 59:25Speaker 3: to really get into the three thousand dollars range before
- 59:28Speaker 3: people started thinking about it. And if it's financiable, and
- 59:31Speaker 3: we know it is because they finance it right there
- 59:32Speaker 3: on your phone bills. That was the key when they
- 59:35Speaker 3: when they went over from just buying it out right too.
- 59:38Speaker 5: I'll just put this on your phone bill. Oh it's like,
- 59:40Speaker 5: oh wait, it's only thirty bucks a month. That's right, Okay,
- 59:42Speaker 5: I can do that right there, because you think your
- 59:44Speaker 5: father was costing you thirty dollars. Yeah, yeah for the
- 59:46Speaker 5: next two years, right, two years, and that's it. And
- 59:49Speaker 5: I remember when they went to the program as well,
- 59:50Speaker 5: like this is the greatest idea they've ever had.
- 59:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:52Speaker 3: I mean I'd have to come out of the pocket
- 59:54Speaker 3: for like six, seven, eight hundred dollars back then that's
- 59:55Speaker 3: what it was, and now it's gonna be anywhere from
- 59:58Speaker 3: like eight to twelve hundred dollars depending on the model
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: you get. I don't even have to jacked up model,
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: I know, like I don't even have the big memory
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: model or any of that stuff. And it's still damn expense.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: What is your power? What is your phone bill of
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: a month? It's like set, right, you don't do it.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: It's like all the set. There's no more like extra
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: charges anymore. Right, No, I don't pay the bills in
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: my house. I don't know.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's pretty set.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: It's like just set. Yeah, And who are you with?
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Eight? Now? I'm with AT and T. Yeah, I'm still
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: with AT and T as well. How about you T Mobile?
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: T Mobile? Do you like it out there by the way?
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: Do you go through that dead spot that we have
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: out there? Does it?
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Does it work for you?
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: Where's the dead spot? Yeah?
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: Right there at the corner of forty four and forty six. Really.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, dead as hell. That entire area is dead.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: You have to log onto Public's Wi Fi to even
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: get a signal. You wouldn't. I wouldn't be able to.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: You can't extra call or anything. It's terrible.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: I've never had that happen.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's probably because it's AT and T.
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: I jump carriers because I wanted the phone upgrade and
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: to get one of the new deals, which I did,
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: so I'm kind of locked in for a little bit.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: But T Mobile was the best carrier I've had for
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: service and perks and perks.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Really we get the We get the MLB package Netflix
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: for free, the SLB package Netflix for free. Yeah. And
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: if you go on isn't it T Mobile Tuesdays?
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: They have deals every Tuesday, like a pizza. You can
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: get the great Yeah.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Why am I with AT and T? I haven't ask
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: any that for a couple of years.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Buddy, especially because I've never had uh that dead spot
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: there and I can take phone calls and everything, and
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: There isn't their service program as good as or because
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: I know at one point the reason I had AT
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: and T is because the service program when you look
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: at the map, the service map on the at the US,
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: it by far it was the best service you can
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: get anywhere in the country.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: Change.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I don't know if that's the same way anymore.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: It's not, and it's it's how they run tower space
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: and you know, T mobiles network now.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Is considered one of the best, and I think my
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: wife is on T Mobile. Somebody just said Verizon doesn't
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: know a dead space. I'm not talking to anybody who
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: has Verizon.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: I used to Oh did you I had a work
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: phone that was on Verizon really yeah, yeah, and it
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: was good, but they were expensive. Yeah, but now they're
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: they were getting their ass kicked by all these other
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: discount carriers using the same network. Yeah, like yeah, now
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: now they have a you know, the the bring four
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: phones over it's twenty five bucks a month and you know,
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: wow really oh bah.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Yeah. The thing is is like I don't really pay
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: attention to the carrier because it doesn't really ever affect
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: the use for me except for this dead spot and
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: the in a big part of our city. I mean,
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: like the corner I turned to go anywhere. Yeah, I
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: mean it's completely dead there.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: You want to make sure, and it's tough because you
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: have to talk to the people who are in the
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: same area as you, whether in your home community and
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: your work community.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: You want to make sure you have a signal.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: And I'm not on a plan now, like my plan
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: has been like long gone, so I could just change
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: if I wanted to.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: Right, one hundred percent. They don't even have plans anymore.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Oh really, And so I.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Mean they do, but they don't lock you up the
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: way they used to.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: And do you get bonuses like if I don't if
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: I change the Team Mobile, don't they have like big
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: discounts for the phone because you have to have a different.
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: Phone, right when you don't have to have a different
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: phone anymore. If that phone is paid off, it can
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: be unlocked if it's not unlocked already, really, and you
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: can just take that phone you don't want that. The
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: incentive for you to jump to a new carrier is
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: to get a new phone. Discount, like they'll give you,
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: you know, a premium of a new phone and it
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: might be and they may give you a trade in
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: on that, although that's so old. Maybe not yeah, yeah,
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: but jumping to a new carrier is somehow with sometimes
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: how you get the best deal because a lot of times,
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: many times those deals are for new customers. They finally
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: started doing it for existing customers as well, because I
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: think so many people were complaining that.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: It's like, wait, I've.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: Been loyal, and you're giving these new people, you know,
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: discounts that I'm not eligible for.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Exactly, I'm trying to find the what model I have here?
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: This is an iPhone eleven? And how old is that?
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: I remember then that's about seven years old? Seven years
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: at what it is? It doesn't say what year it is.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: I have Apple cash, I have a balance, I have
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: some money there.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: Well, come out with an iPhone every year, and we're
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: expecting the announcement of the eighteen soon.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I will need that now. And my camera's even good,
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Like I don't need all the super camera stuff or anything,
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: really it does. I just want one that in the charge. Really,
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: the reason I want to get rid of this because
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: it's just not holding a charge anymore. Yeah, yeah, I
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: mean it used to be where I could charge it up,
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: like you know, obviously you plug it in when you
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: go to bed, you wake up in the morning, and
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: that one hundred percent charge would usually take me through
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: the day with no problem whatsoever, because I'm not like
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: on my phone doing social all day, but I do
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: use it, and now like it's almost dead now, Yeah.
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: The eleven's a little old I had. I went from
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: a fourteen, then I jumped to a seventeen. Yeah, and
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: you know, three years is good. I've had a phone
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: for four years. After that, it's you're you know, now
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: you're five. After that, you're five generations.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: It did Apple get trusted slowing down the data service
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: if you didn't upgrade. That doesn't happen anymore either, or
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: does it. There's been some I'm sure they'll tell you
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: it's not happening. Yeah, No other carriers really had that happen, right.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Yeah, Well it's I think it was like new operating
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: systems that weren't designed to run on the older models,
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: and that might some of that might have been intentional, Okay,
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: whereas so your phone was no longer working is good?
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: You know there's a new one out. You're seeing a
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: lipe and your phone is now slower. You're not imagining
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: it because it was slower. Yeah, and so then you're like,
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: all right, I'll get ano one.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Somebody just texted and said, right now, if I
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: switch the T Mobile, I'll get a free iPhone seventeen.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: That's great, dude. I mean that's like way better than
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: the eleven. That's six better than.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: The It is six better than the eleven.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: I'm not gonna do the math, but am smart like that.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: Sometimes you got the eighteen coming out this year, So
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: seventeen is right now is the latest greatest phone?
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Isn't really what I got? I mean, if I get
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: the extra memory, do I have to upgrade? And you
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: know I don't. I've never run out of memory ever,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Like I'm not even close. I'm not even don't worry
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: about it. I don't like download any I like, just
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: have the regular apps you're supposed to have. That's it.
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: They've made it so easy, and I assume it's probably
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: the same for Android. I don't know. I live in
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: a you know, an iPhone world. But taking the no phone,
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: you know, you pair it with the new one. Then
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: suddenly all your stuff is on the new one. They
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: made it so much easier just to do that. Guys said,
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: he got his target. Another person said, just switch to
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: Team Mobile, hold on coming back here real quick. Just
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: switched the Team Obile and got a free iPhone seventeen
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: Max Pro Max, the big one.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: You don't need that. I don't need that. You don't
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: tell me what I need.
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: Yeah, you're you're not gonna want it's you're you'll get
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: a sore elbow.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Oh stop it, get out holding.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: Holding it up all the time you're looking through TikTok.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: I don't even have to do.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: You have to hold your phone down. Yeah, you're gonna
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: get tennis elbow out of here.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: TikTok elbow. Yeah, all right, seven seven and zero three.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Wonder Budy Scott Brown up next with its only money.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Stay right there, Hey, I was at ohonah.
- 1:07:10Speaker 11: Yeah, Jimmy, man, get into T Mobile four line plan
- 1:07:15Speaker 11: all new phones. It's really the best deal, man, and
- 1:07:18Speaker 11: they have the coverage anyway, Jack Man, you're right because
- 1:07:22Speaker 11: they don't offer the incentive for loyalty I have.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: My grandfather didn't.
- 1:07:27Speaker 11: Plan is from next Tell, which went to Sprint, and
- 1:07:31Speaker 11: I had a company discount still from a company I
- 1:07:33Speaker 11: don't work for anymore.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: But yeah, man T Mobile all the way, Aloha.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: A brother, and I think we get a discount for
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: being with iHeart? Do we not for AT and T? Yeah,
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: I don't know what we used to yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: of course it was like fifty thousand years ago. Who
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: knows anymore?
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: Like when next Tell was a company beep, they give.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Us a free next Tell and I gave it back
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: to him one day later that thing beeped one too
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: many times. Is I can't do that. I'm not hearing
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: the beat beat dude, that's not happening. I literally walked
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: right up to the guy and I said, here you go.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: I'm just gonna go buy another plan. There's there's no way,
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: because they gave him to the whole show. Yes, so
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: the entire show. When you would beat beat somebody else,
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: because we were on the same network, you'd get beat beat.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: We had two people in the show that talked all
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: the time. So my phone's going beat beat, beat beat,
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: I swear, I just took the battery out of it.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: And I walked into the station the very next day
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: and said, this is yours.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Now, that's the most Jim Colbert thing I think you
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: ever said.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: No, we can do that ever, A right like I
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: can't have a ceiling fan that ticks much less a
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: phoney goes. It goes beat deep every five seconds. It
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: competes with the ticking in your head. Welcome back to
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: the Jim Colbert. Who I'm Jim? There's dead? Helloa, yo,
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: let's do It's only money, so.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: People passionate about planning for the future.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Rise above investments.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: Myths to build.
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: Isn't that really just common sense financial advice?
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: It's okay, dude, it's all living money.
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: Wiscott throwns from the family.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Look at this hero and his shorts and flip flex
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: How dare you know?
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: I can hear you out there when you're ragging on
- 1:09:08Speaker 8: me like I'm coming on the air in a few minutes,
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: and you act like how.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: Couldn't even make icons? Literally I see that I walk
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: in there, I'm like, okay, well that's kind of wild.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: There's literally one of Orlando's premier financial advisors and he's
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: sitting on a table in our lobby with his dangling ass,
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: flip flops and shorts and a shirt where Abraham Lincoln's
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: playing a stranocaster.
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: Now, who would you rather want to plan your retirement
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: than someone who already looks like they're living their best life.
- 1:09:33Speaker 8: He literally turns his back on me, like he opens
- 1:09:35Speaker 8: the door and turns his back and walks away in disgust.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: I'm so pissed off. I want to be in shorts
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: of biopsy. It's good to be back. It's good to
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: see everybody.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: It's good to see you as well.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Man, Hey, before we get into the stuff that you
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: sent up for, By the way, Scott Brown is with
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: Edgeworter Family Wealth. That's Edge Orderfamilywealth dot com fiduciaries in
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: town for almost forty years, giving you and your family
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: great advice to make sure you're portfolio earns long into
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: your life so you can have that great retirement you
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: dream about. That's what Scott does, helps you kind of
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: reach those goals, and does it with real talk, without
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: any without the without the language of financiers. And that's
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: a crazy thing. Don't wear shoes, by the way, thank.
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: You to that. No.
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: I just I know I had talked to you Jimmy
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: about this earlier. I know that you have topics that
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: you wanted to talk about. But I've been seeing something
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: too that has me a little concerned, and it's this
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: new SEC rule that I was hoping if we have
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: time to get to you later on. For those who
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: don't know new reporting, they're trying to take away the
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: six month reports. So let's say we have a really
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: crappy holiday shopping season. Under this new rule, we wouldn't
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: hear about it until August.
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: Well, yeah, so there, Well currently it's quarterly report when
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: they wanted take it, and they're they're not. So you
- 1:10:51Speaker 8: can report under the new law that has not been
- 1:10:53Speaker 8: passed yet. You can report quarterly as a company if
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: you want, but you can also delay it for so
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: it's kind of you know, it's it's there are pros
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: and cons to us.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: As I say, as an investor, what would that say
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: to someone who's trying to pick out funds for retirement.
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: Well, it would certainly if you're a stock picker and
- 1:11:13Speaker 8: you're into fundamentals and you don't want to know what
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: earnings are, what they're projected to be, it certainly would
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: give you pause. If a company that normally reports quarterly
- 1:11:21Speaker 8: suddenly decided maybe maybe we're going to pass on this quarter,
- 1:11:24Speaker 8: certainly that would and that would probably cause a sell
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: off in the stock. But that also keep in mind
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: that a lot of the reporting, or the lot of
- 1:11:31Speaker 8: the fundamental information that we digest as investors comes from analysts.
- 1:11:36Speaker 8: So analysts, just analysts, rely on the quarterly report, but
- 1:11:39Speaker 8: it may be I think all credible companies will probably
- 1:11:42Speaker 8: give some kind of guidance on the quarter. Now, on
- 1:11:46Speaker 8: the other side of the coin, the argument is if
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: a company is preoccupied with the quarter, that they're not
- 1:11:52Speaker 8: looking at the long term.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:11:53Speaker 8: So if you have a CEO who's let's say his
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: compensation or her compensation is based on every quarter, so
- 1:11:58Speaker 8: every quarter, if the stock price doesn't do well, it
- 1:12:01Speaker 8: somehow negatively impacts their compensation. A lot of people say, well,
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: if we take that away from them, they'll focus more
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: on the long term viability of the company, and that
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: could be a good thing, right, So the argument has
- 1:12:14Speaker 8: the argument against the quarterly reporting has always been that
- 1:12:17Speaker 8: it's always been companies are way too preoccupied with what
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: they're going to report on the quarter versus their long
- 1:12:24Speaker 8: term health. So, like, I know, like if Warren Buffett
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: would say, quarterly reporting's kind of pointless because he's more
- 1:12:31Speaker 8: focused on ten years from now. But on the other
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: side to your point is, you know, if you're an
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: investor and you own Berkshire, you own a Microsoft or
- 1:12:42Speaker 8: Apple or whatever it is, you might want to know
- 1:12:44Speaker 8: on a quarterly basis, what the guy how many iPhones
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: are they going to sell? You guys were talking about iPhones?
- 1:12:49Speaker 8: How many iPhones are they going to sell? So I
- 1:12:50Speaker 8: think it it could be a little of both. It
- 1:12:54Speaker 8: could be a good thing and a bad thing. But
- 1:12:56Speaker 8: I suspect that really reputable companies will stick to the
- 1:12:59Speaker 8: rightly reporting of some kind.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Well, Scott always brings in some questions to talk about
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: and we'll get to that now. You said you want
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: me to tell you about my wealth DNA?
- 1:13:09Speaker 8: What did you think did?
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: What did Brasher say to you about you?
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: Yeah, he said you're nuts. No, he said, uh, do
- 1:13:14Speaker 8: you remember what? Because I don't remember. H I don't
- 1:13:16Speaker 8: think he told me what the results were. Do you
- 1:13:18Speaker 8: guys remember what it was? Search your email? They email
- 1:13:21Speaker 8: you the results? Well, yeah, I mean I I I
- 1:13:24Speaker 8: kind of looked at your results and you you are
- 1:13:27Speaker 8: a control instability guy.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it?
- 1:13:29Speaker 8: Yes, Yeah, Yeah, so you're you're your gut tryad, as
- 1:13:32Speaker 8: they say in the talk, is you're you're more worried
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: about independence and control. You're not a person. You don't
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: come across, at least in the testing as a person
- 1:13:40Speaker 8: who's like trying to beat the market.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: No I'm not. I'm not I'm trying to ride the market. Yeah,
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: I'm not trying to beat it. I want to ride.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: You.
- 1:13:46Speaker 8: You don't see money as an achievement. You see money
- 1:13:48Speaker 8: as a comfort tool.
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: It's a safety net for me to ensure that I
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: don't live the life my parents and my grandparents and
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: all my family members had to live when they had
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: no money and depended on just a few dollars for
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: social security. That's the last thing I want for my
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: family myself. Yeah, loss of control and vulnerability was your
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: key worry, and that comes from your upbringing, same as mine.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: My upbringing was the same my mother. You know, my
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: parents divorced when I was young. My mother struggled.
- 1:14:12Speaker 8: We lived with my grandparents, and I saw all of
- 1:14:15Speaker 8: the tumult that that brought on people were, you know, worried,
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: and I saw her fret, and I saw my grandparents
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: trying to figure out how to take care of us.
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: And that drives how I think as well. So, yeah,
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: I think this this wealth DNA thing that we came
- 1:14:28Speaker 8: up with, we spent and I did it with doctor
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: Christopher Moore and who's a PhD in economics. He and
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: I came up with the concept and he developed this
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: for me. And what I'm finding out and talking to
- 1:14:39Speaker 8: people is I've never had a person say this doesn't
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: sound like me, right, I've had lots of people say
- 1:14:45Speaker 8: this has been very helpful in me controlling my own
- 1:14:47Speaker 8: emotions when I'm dealing with money. So if you go
- 1:14:49Speaker 8: to Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com, you pull down the wealth DNA,
- 1:14:52Speaker 8: you can take the test. We email you the results
- 1:14:54Speaker 8: doesn't cost anything.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: It's kind of cool.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: Hey, I gotta tell you. It goes to so many
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: different plays in my life as well, Like when I
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: go to this, I don't play casino games because the
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: odds aren't good for me. I want to play against
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: another player I think I can beat. My odds are
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: better against somebody I've seasoned myself against. I can't beat
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: the slot machines or the craps table for me long
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: term because I don't know enough about it. So I
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: never play games of chance like that when I gamble,
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: and I don't gamble anywhere else. Yeah, and I save money.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: And like you know, nobody in my family ever went
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: on vacation in fifty eight years that I knew my family,
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: all generations of my family, not one time do I
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: ever remember every anybody in my family going on a vacation.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: All they did was work and they never got anything
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: out of it. And I told myself when I left
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: town that I would never be in that position in
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: my life. So I don't really take risks like that.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: It's the reason I don't drop a big fancy car
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: and I can afford to. I just don't do that
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: because I don't. That's just not the way I do
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: things well. And again that we all have reasons for
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: how we are. How some people go the opposite direction
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: of their parents. Some people kind of fall in line
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: with their parents. You see that sometimes too. But I think, again,
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: if you're a person who's kind of unsure, why do
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: I do that? Why when the why when the market
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: goes down do I want to sell everything right? Or
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: or conversely, why is it everything I hear about sounds
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: good to me?
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: Oh I buy some bitcoin. Oh oh, Navidia, I should
- 1:16:13Speaker 8: buy some Navidio. Of course, that's well after things have
- 1:16:16Speaker 8: already gone up when you make those decisions. So if
- 1:16:19Speaker 8: you want to understand yourself, not to say that people
- 1:16:22Speaker 8: don't have some self awareness, but when it comes to money,
- 1:16:24Speaker 8: I find people do struggle to have some self awareness.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Also, Scott. The one thing that is like but it's
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: a bad thing though, And I think my personality is
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: in a sense where I can kind of see my
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: good and bad parts. Because the bad part of that
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: is I don't take any risks. So I probably left
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: a lot of money on the table by not making
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: or taking some chances buying different funds or something like that.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: I didn't buy any SpaceX or anything like that. I
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: don't get into these big IPOs just I don't roll
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: the dice like that, and it's probably cost me tens
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: of thousands of dollars over my life. Well I don't. Again.
- 1:16:54Speaker 8: I think if you talk to a person and they say, look,
- 1:16:56Speaker 8: if I could earn, what'll make up a number six percent?
- 1:16:58Speaker 8: But I have my downside is only two or three percent.
- 1:17:01Speaker 8: Some people are in that world where they're like the
- 1:17:03Speaker 8: probabilities of me making five or six percent are pretty high.
- 1:17:07Speaker 8: The probability of me losing twenty percent is very low.
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: I'm okay with that some person. Some people will say, no, man,
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: I want to earn I want to earn ten percent
- 1:17:15Speaker 8: a year. Now, I could argue, you don't know why
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: you want to earn ten percent, right, Yeah, we can
- 1:17:19Speaker 8: talk about that another time. Yeah, But whenever you bring
- 1:17:22Speaker 8: ten percent or twelve percent, or fifteen percent or twenty
- 1:17:24Speaker 8: or thirty or forty percent into the equation, you must
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: know the exact opposite lives on the other side, and
- 1:17:31Speaker 8: you must admit to yourself that you're okay with that.
- 1:17:33Speaker 9: Ye.
- 1:17:33Speaker 8: Yeah, Because the more volatile something is, the higher the
- 1:17:37Speaker 8: potential return.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: But the volatility doesn't go away right right, And I
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: would never be able to live with that. I would
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: never be able to carry that around. I would think
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: about it daily. It would be bad.
- 1:17:45Speaker 9: Well.
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: Yeah, and if you were a private equity or venture
- 1:17:47Speaker 8: capital those people live in that world, so if something
- 1:17:49Speaker 8: goes to zero, they just go, well, we'll get the
- 1:17:51Speaker 8: next thing.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: That's the world they live in. Most people can't live
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: You do not want to do that. All the stress
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: woul drive me great, it make me lose my daan hairdy.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: So why is hiring a financial advisor like hiring a
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: fishing guide? So are you a fisherman? I can't remember
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: if you like to fish. I don't fish as much
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: as I used to, but I used to freshwater fish.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: I can't go on boats because I get the small boats,
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: I get sick. Yeah, but I used to freshwater fish
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: all the time when I live back home.
- 1:18:12Speaker 8: So I'm I grew up stomping around Tampa Bay and
- 1:18:15Speaker 8: the mangroves, and so I consider myself an okay trout,
- 1:18:18Speaker 8: redfish kind of guy. So one day, you know, I
- 1:18:22Speaker 8: became a little bit successful. So I went out and
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: bought myself a boat. Yeah, uh huh, you know how
- 1:18:26Speaker 8: this story ends. And so I got the boat, I
- 1:18:28Speaker 8: got all I got it, and I.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Got the multi thousand dollars los.
- 1:18:32Speaker 8: I got the power poles, I got the trolling motor.
- 1:18:35Speaker 8: I mean, I got everything you can buy on his
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: Oh it was a bad little scout baboat ie.
- 1:18:40Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:18:40Speaker 8: And so I had that for about four years. You know,
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: the trailer rusted out. I had to replace that. The
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: trolling motor stopped working. Almost right away one power pool
- 1:18:49Speaker 8: when I know you know all the stories, right, so
- 1:18:52Speaker 8: you know, sixty seventy thousand dollars later, I still can't
- 1:18:56Speaker 8: catch fish.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Bring out another thousand.
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18:59Speaker 8: So at some point I'm like, you know, I'm gonna
- 1:19:01Speaker 8: sell this boat. And I sold this boat to some
- 1:19:04Speaker 8: other sucker, and I started going back to Boca gran
- 1:19:08Speaker 8: three times a year and fishing with my buddy Danny,
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: who's a guide. I don't have a boat to deal with.
- 1:19:12Speaker 8: I don't have a rusted trailer. I don't have power
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: poles to fix. I just go catch red fish till
- 1:19:17Speaker 8: I'm sick of it. Then I go have a beer
- 1:19:20Speaker 8: and he washes the boat, right. Yeah, So having a
- 1:19:22Speaker 8: financial advisor is a little like that, right, Like I
- 1:19:25Speaker 8: don't I don't know where the fish are. He fishes
- 1:19:27Speaker 8: every day. I don't know what baits use. He goes
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: and gets the bait at five o'clock in the morning
- 1:19:32Speaker 8: while I'm still sleeping, right, And so a financial advisor
- 1:19:35Speaker 8: is a little like that. It doesn't guarantee you're going
- 1:19:37Speaker 8: to catch fish. It doesn't guarantee your returns are going
- 1:19:39Speaker 8: to be great, but the odds are A good financial
- 1:19:42Speaker 8: advisor knows where the fish are right. And again, it
- 1:19:45Speaker 8: doesn't mean you're always going to catch him, but it
- 1:19:47Speaker 8: saves you a lot of time. You Know, somebody said
- 1:19:50Speaker 8: something interesting the other day. You're not paying me to
- 1:19:53Speaker 8: manage your money, you know, based on or to manage
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: your portfolio. What you're paying me for is the forty
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: years I've been doing this. Yeah, you're paying me for
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: the forty years of learning what not to do. In
- 1:20:04Speaker 8: shortcutting you to that forty years of information. So I
- 1:20:07Speaker 8: would much rather get up in the morning, drive to
- 1:20:10Speaker 8: the West coast, catch forty redfish, eat a nice dinner,
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: and come home rather than get the boat out, go
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: get the guests, go to Walmart and buy shrimp that
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: aren't gonna work anyway. And that's all he said. Yeah,
- 1:20:21Speaker 8: your best friend is the friend has the boat exactly.
- 1:20:24Speaker 8: So I think in a lot of ways, the same
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: reason you hire a fishing guy is the same reason
- 1:20:28Speaker 8: you hire a fund.
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: He kind of put you in the environment, in a
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: positive environment position so that you can have the best success,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: the most possible success. Yes, yeah, very cool. And then
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: the last one here is kind of interesting because there
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: was a story this week that kind of reminded me
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: of this. Do you happen to know a guy named
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Faison Love He's an actor slash comedian.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: I do not.
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: He was just busted, I say busted. He was just
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: taking into custody in Tampa for not paying his child support.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: He was the guy in Elf. He was the black
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: store manager in the movie Else. Okay, right, the guy
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: who ran the store who was you know? That's him? Like,
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: he had major success with this movie, has had some
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: other movies and stuff, and he's dead broke. And the
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: question here is why are so many smart people bad
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: with money?
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: Now?
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: I don't know that Faison is a smart guy. Yeah,
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: but I think a lot of people who assume people
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: have money keep it because they know what they're doing.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: And I think people believe that with smart people, you know, doctors, lawyers,
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: whatever the case may be, they're gonna be automatically great
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: with their money because they do so many other things.
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: Well, well they think that, yeah, yeah, but they're not so.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: Well if you if you.
- 1:21:23Speaker 8: Had a room full of financial advisors, you said who
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: is the hardest what's the hardest profession to work with?
- 1:21:29Speaker 8: They wouldn't hesitate. They'd say engineers. Now, I know they're
- 1:21:31Speaker 8: engineers listening right now, cringing, you know who you are.
- 1:21:35Speaker 8: But to an engineer, I mean, clearly engineers are smart.
- 1:21:38Speaker 8: They build bridges. You know, they have to do how
- 1:21:40Speaker 8: much concrete in this and how much revolve Their job
- 1:21:43Speaker 8: is solving problem there. But their job is is is definitive.
- 1:21:46Speaker 8: In other words, two plus two always equals four in
- 1:21:49Speaker 8: the world of an engineer, whereas in my world it
- 1:21:51Speaker 8: almost never equals. For two plus two equals negative seven,
- 1:21:54Speaker 8: two plus two equals fifteen. It's a there's a there's
- 1:21:57Speaker 8: a rhythm to it, and there's a randomness to it.
- 1:21:59Speaker 8: There's a cycles to things. But for an engineer it
- 1:22:03Speaker 8: is difficult that they can't say, if I do enough research,
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: this will definitely work out the way I think it will.
- 1:22:10Speaker 8: Because I don't care how much research you do. It
- 1:22:13Speaker 8: won't definitely work out the way it will work out,
- 1:22:16Speaker 8: and it will work out long term. But where engineers
- 1:22:18Speaker 8: and oftentimes physicians who are notoriously bad investors, get into
- 1:22:22Speaker 8: trouble is they think they're intelligence and they're highly intelligent people.
- 1:22:27Speaker 8: Translates to another field. When I wouldn't attempt to do
- 1:22:30Speaker 8: surgery on anybody and a physician certainly shouldn't be managing
- 1:22:35Speaker 8: their own money. In most cases, it's a hyper focused intellect,
- 1:22:38Speaker 8: it is, I mean, you know, and as a rule,
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: when you go to school for that, especially when you
- 1:22:41Speaker 8: get in to med school, you leave everything else behind.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: There's no more physics or anything like that. You're supremely
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: focused on whatever discipline and medicine that you're doing.
- 1:22:49Speaker 8: And there's two problems there. I've had enough physicians, and
- 1:22:51Speaker 8: I have some clients who are physicians who are amazing,
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: But I've had some physicians in the past. And the
- 1:22:56Speaker 8: problem for a physician or any high earning occupation is
- 1:23:00Speaker 8: you're also a target. Right, So not only have you
- 1:23:03Speaker 8: been told you're smart your whole life, but on top
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: of that, everybody you meet has an idea for you, right,
- 1:23:08Speaker 8: and you believe Yeah, I mean, clearly, I'm a neurosurgeon,
- 1:23:11Speaker 8: so why not own a trucking company?
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 1:23:13Speaker 8: These are the kinds of things I get from some
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: of my doctors. The logistics are a piece of cake,
- 1:23:18Speaker 8: and nothing ever breaks in. Yeah, it's never a problem.
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: So clearly a bakery makes perfect sense.
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: Hey, let me ask you a question before we get
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: out of Today, Scott Brown with US Today, Edworter Family
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Wealth Atsworderfamilywealth dot Com. By the way, you should go
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: there immediately take that wealth DNA test. Yeah, if you
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: want to learn how you think and look at money,
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: and even if you don't think you're that way, answer
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: those questions. Honestly, it only takes about ten minutes or
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: so to take it, and you will get some information
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: that will blow you away. It's a really it's fun. Actually,
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: it is fun. It's very interesting to see what it
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: tells you about yourself, and real quickly. I would if
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: you're married, I would have.
- 1:23:47Speaker 8: Your spouse do it along with you and then compare
- 1:23:49Speaker 8: notes because there'll be a lot of nod and going on,
- 1:23:52Speaker 8: yeah you do.
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: That, don't let her please you don't. Yeah, yeah, So
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: tell me about this. It's just a real quick here
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: yet thirty seconds on the NASDAQI all off. That's been
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: happening now for the last like three or four days.
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: I mean it's a cycle, clearly, you know. Look it's
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: the common sense.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:05Speaker 8: Yeah, the market's been screaming, chips have been screaming. What
- 1:24:08Speaker 8: we're seeing now is a slowdown in the just a
- 1:24:11Speaker 8: tiny bit. Inflation's up a little bit. There are several issues.
- 1:24:15Speaker 8: You know, again, is the FED going to raise rates?
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: There are several things kind of pushing back. There's a
- 1:24:19Speaker 8: little bit of a headwind. So it makes perfect sense
- 1:24:21Speaker 8: if you got stocks like Navidio or Micron or stocks
- 1:24:25Speaker 8: like that that are up four hundred percent over the
- 1:24:27Speaker 8: last twenty four months, people are going to start taking profits.
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: It's just a cycle.
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: And the reason I asked is because I you know,
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: you hear rumors about when things like that. You read
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: a lot of stuff like that, and a lot of
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: it say it's just the uncertainty of AI being successful
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: because of the dot com bubble. They're trying to parallel
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: that and saying, well, yeah, there are a lot of
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: dot coms out there, but only a few made it through,
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: and they believe that the same thing is kind of
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: happening with AI. We hear about all the AI agents
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: and all AI companies, but only so many of them
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: can actually be successful, and they you know, that's what
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: I hear is kind of it's kind of making uncertain
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: for investors in that particular.
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: Well, there are people that believe AI can eat itself,
- 1:25:02Speaker 8: meaning it can create so much of an opportunity for
- 1:25:06Speaker 8: people to develop their own products and services through AI
- 1:25:08Speaker 8: that eventually two or three of these companies may win out,
- 1:25:10Speaker 8: a bunch of them may go away. But the difference
- 1:25:12Speaker 8: between this in dot com is most of these companies
- 1:25:14Speaker 8: have real earnings the dot com thing, many of those
- 1:25:17Speaker 8: did not.
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it didn't have anything. They were just there. Dev
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: got some news for us.
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: Florida updates sloth ownership rules, SpaceX launches a Starfall demo
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: mission that's an interesting one, and the first AI generated
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: art museum opens. We'll talk about that next during You
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: heard it here.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: First, you gotta to take little break. We'll come back
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: and it Dev's News and the hell out of here
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: it on.
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: Tuesday on Real Radio one oh four point one.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: Hi, welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. We're Alredyo
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: one oh four point one. I'm Jim dev is here,
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: hen Man check is as well. Cowbody Scott round from Edgewater.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: Famiel Wealth likes to hang out for the last segment
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: and chill out there I do. He's got his flops on,
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: he's loving life. That's Edgewardfamilywealth dot Com. Look, I gotta
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: tell you, I gotta tell you this thing that you're
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: doing today is so perfectly you, and it's so perfectly
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: like I've read a lot about you, like I understand
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: your stature in the community when it comes to what
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: you do, Like I did this way before you came
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: on the air with us. I knew all the stuff
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: because that's what I do with every client. Right. You
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: weren't expecting the flip flops, man, I just it's perfect.
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: You are perfect for this show because you are what
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: we really talk about the most, like the most qualified people.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: And the fact that you can do what you're doing
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: right now lets me know. The confidence that you have
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: to do that and still be in that position is great.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: That's exactly what I look for in people to come
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: on the show and tell other people about him, because
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: you've got that integrity and that little bit of swagger
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: that makes it fun to do business.
- 1:26:44Speaker 8: I'm just a regular dude. Yeah, come on, come on, guy,
- 1:26:50Speaker 8: that's edge. I believe you don't have to agree so quickly, Jack.
- 1:26:54Speaker 8: The DNA wealth test is a must, though.
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: I'm serious, and I kind of fought taking it for
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: a while because I'm kind of like that occasion. I
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: don't really you didn't want to know. I didn't want
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: movingny things great and I didn't want to know. Yeah,
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: I wanted to tell me something good.
- 1:27:05Speaker 8: Yeah it wasn't bad, and you're all right, but got
- 1:27:09Speaker 8: up in therapy.
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: Can't fixt go take it and I'm gonna tell you
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: I agree with you should take it with your wife
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: or take it and then compare Yes. Yeah, and then
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: I think it'll be a really cool, interesting thing and
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: maybe get you on the path to maybe, you know,
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: doing a little bit more for yourself financially, you know,
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: making some changes in your life where you're saving more,
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: not spending as much, going through and really kind of uh,
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: you know, going through your budget with a fine tooth
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: cone to make sure you're spending your money properly.
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: I think it'll keep you from doing things that would
- 1:27:36Speaker 8: normally be detrimental to your cause.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: Hundred percent. That Let's get some news.
- 1:27:41Speaker 6: Good time for you heard it here first on the
- 1:27:44Speaker 6: Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: Well, we were hoping this was going to happen, and
- 1:27:47Speaker 4: it has to a certain extent. Sloth importers will need
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: a new permit here in Florida. According to Representative Anna Escamani,
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: who obtained an FWC memo, sloth importation is no longer
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: covered by Florida's quote blanket import Permits end quote. Now
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: any facility intending to house sloths will have to apply
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: for a free quote Wildlife Importation Permit end quote before
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: importing sloths into Florida. The FWC made that change after
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: the deaths of more than fifty sloths intended for Sloth World,
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: the now defunct sloth attraction under construction on Eyedrive in
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: Orange County. Because nothing says conservation like an attraction on
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: Eyedrive in Orange County fail. SpaceX successfully launched the Starfall
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: demo mission this morning shortly before seven o'clock from the
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: Kennedy Space Center to test a capsule designed to retrieve
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: cargo from orbit. Here's NASA's spaceflight with the call.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: That's liftoff, and we have a Falcon Eye with a
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: Starfall demonstration mission going into a really weird mission here, folks,
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: let's stand by for the sound.
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: Okay, now when NASA says it's weird, But the Starfall
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: capsule can bring up to a ton of material back
- 1:29:01Speaker 4: to Earth, boosting future space manufacturing.
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: Interesting. Also, I know that there's a there is an
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: issue with traffic up there. Remember we've talked about deposition
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: satellites and how they're going to get those things out
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: of orbit, because it's starting getting little crowded up there,
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: and I thought, maybe that's what they were talking about
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: going up there, like scooping those things up and bringing
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: them back.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: But I know there's a Florida company that is that
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: is working on just something like that. It would be
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: like a what's the automatic vacuum the roomba for space exactly.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: And then finally, I know, speaking of technology, was being
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: called the world's first museum dedicated to AI generated art
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: with them in downtown Los Angeles. It's called Data Land
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: Slot Museum, and creators say it's a living museum where
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: the art changes in response to the visitors as visitors
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: walk around and the art reacts. The museum is meant
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: to feel quote responsive, adaptive, and alive end quote to
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: get start at fifty bucks, damn. Some critics say AAI
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: has no place in art amen and have questioned the
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: kind of power resources needed to keep something like data
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: Land running. Yeah, yeah, I'd like to know how the
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: art would react if you walked by and said this sucks.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to do something cool with art. Just
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: save your money and go to a meal wolf and
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: just thank me later when you do that.
- 1:30:20Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: That is like one of the coolest experiences you can
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: have as a person who loves or experiences or appreciates art.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: Just go to meo wolf and save your fifty bucks.
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: And you heard it here first on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: Thank you very much On Ladies. Sure, who do we
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: have to thank today?
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: The one, the only, the wonderful Scott Brown. And then
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: last but never least, Sam Bowen, Candice Rich and Alicia
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: Bulwear for running our YouTube chat.
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: Everybody behind the ropes. You know the rules Jack question
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: of today.
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: Don't look them in the eye.
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: Did you take regular family vacations growing up?
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: Oh goodness, that's a great question, did you? Oh yeah
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: you did? We did one. Yeah, we did one.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: I remember I remember one as well.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: Yeah. I think I got into Disney when I was
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: twelve or thirteen years old and our uncles still had
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: to take us. Gosh, I'll go, uh, I'll go thirty
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: eight percent. Say they did forty eight percent?
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: Cool?
- 1:31:19Speaker 8: That would have been way off. What'd you think I
- 1:31:21Speaker 8: was like seventy four percent?
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:31:22Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, Huh, people need to get out of the house.
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: Did you take a lot of vacations every year? But
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: that's because my mother's from Columbia, so to see my
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: grandparents and my uncles and cousins exactly, it does. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: who's in frandom laws Tomorrow We've got Darryl Payne with
