- 0:03Speaker 1: Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:07Speaker 1: The plays get broken down and science gets denied the Bench.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Raisin
- 0:14Speaker 1: Caines Studio.
- 0:48Speaker 3: All right, welcome back again, Nour number two O t
- 0:51Speaker 3: B here live from the Raising Kine Studio. This is
- 0:56Speaker 3: totally random, and I don't get anything from saying this,
- 0:59Speaker 3: but I'll say real quick, and I don't want anybody
- 1:01Speaker 3: under the bus. But I tried another chicken establishment because
- 1:06Speaker 3: it was all that was in the area that I
- 1:07Speaker 3: was in. I was watching my brother. He came down
- 1:10Speaker 3: and coached in a soccer tournament. And let me just say,
- 1:15Speaker 3: knees is safe. All right, Kanes is gonna be okay
- 1:20Speaker 3: if that's the competition. Like, it's funny. That's the first
- 1:23Speaker 3: thing I said. I was like, Oh, canes is okay.
- 1:25Speaker 3: They do not have to worry. Yeah, just how tell
- 1:27Speaker 3: that it can be around a while? Yeah, they'll be okay.
- 1:29Speaker 3: All right, let's get to the pro football focused grades
- 1:32Speaker 3: for the LSU Tigers.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I don't want to be all negative here today, so
- 1:36Speaker 3: we'll start with the positive. We'll go to the defensive
- 1:38Speaker 3: side of the football.
- 1:39Speaker 4: You should have asked the listeners, do you want the
- 1:41Speaker 4: good news of the badness? Which what do you want?
- 1:43Speaker 2: First?
- 1:45Speaker 3: Well, sorry, I should have, but we didn't the defense,
- 1:50Speaker 3: how about you. Keem Jackson, Florida transfer, played twenty one
- 1:54Speaker 3: plays but showed up in a big way. He had
- 1:57Speaker 3: two big tackles on the drive for LSU where Western
- 2:02Speaker 3: Kentucky looked like they were going to pick up the
- 2:03Speaker 3: first down, and he made the tackles on both the
- 2:05Speaker 3: plays third and fourth down. So he actually grades out
- 2:08Speaker 3: as your highest graded defensive player. And I thought, for
- 2:12Speaker 3: a guy that hasn't played a lot and so montsiour
- 2:15Speaker 3: Delaine dressed out, went through warmups, didn't play in this game,
- 2:18Speaker 3: you were going to need your fourth corner to step
- 2:21Speaker 3: up and plays your third corner, and I thought he
- 2:22Speaker 3: did so. I thought he played well. Taytay's guy, Shawn Spears,
- 2:28Speaker 3: I thought he played well. He played way more than
- 2:31Speaker 3: I thought he would. Played twenty seven plays in this game.
- 2:33Speaker 3: He came in a couple of different times for to
- 2:34Speaker 3: Marcus Cooley, and he graded out as your second highest
- 2:38Speaker 3: graded player at seventy seven point nine. DJ Pickett who
- 2:42Speaker 3: was our player of the game in the booth. He
- 2:44Speaker 3: grades OUs your third highest at seventy five point one.
- 2:47Speaker 3: He had six tackles, he had a sack of course,
- 2:49Speaker 3: TfL and he had an interception as well.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I thought DJ Pickett played really, really well.
- 2:54Speaker 3: He is next in line for your next great dB
- 2:56Speaker 3: here at LSU, he's already pretty much started that process
- 3:00Speaker 3: now is a true freshman. He had Harold Perkins and
- 3:03Speaker 3: Jamari Butler and aj Halsey, Patrick Payton, but nor Good
- 3:07Speaker 3: and all great in the seventies or higher. So defensively,
- 3:13Speaker 3: it's what the you know, it's what the tape showed.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It showed a defense that went out there and made
- 3:17Speaker 3: the plays, had a ton of sacks, had a ton
- 3:20Speaker 3: of TFLs, turned the quarterback over a couple of different times.
- 3:24Speaker 5: So yeah, that tracks.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Uh yeah, And let's always celebrate the victories, because life's
- 3:29Speaker 4: too short not to celebrate the accomplishments.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Victories you play well on defense, celebrate it.
- 3:35Speaker 4: But let's not like get it jump over the moon
- 3:37Speaker 4: about good grades against Western Kentucky.
- 3:40Speaker 3: See, I'm going to disagree with you there because Western Kentucky,
- 3:44Speaker 3: like it doesn't matter.
- 3:45Speaker 4: You could say whatever you're gonna say next, it doesn't
- 3:47Speaker 4: matter LSU. First, Western Kentucky at home at night, you
- 3:51Speaker 4: should get good grades on defense.
- 3:52Speaker 2: And you shouldn't.
- 3:53Speaker 3: But still, Western Kentucky offensively had a top fifteen offense
- 3:57Speaker 3: in the country.
- 3:58Speaker 5: So you still got to make the plays.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Look, we played in a game in Tigre Stadium where
- 4:02Speaker 3: we had to beat Troy with two minutes left.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I got it. Yeah, you're right, got it.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I mean it's so you still got to make the plays, okay,
- 4:10Speaker 3: because it can be if you don't make the plays.
- 4:12Speaker 5: You know what it can be.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It can be on the other side of the football
- 4:15Speaker 3: where you didn't have a player grade in the seventies,
- 4:18Speaker 3: you didn't have one player on offense grade in the seventies.
- 4:20Speaker 3: The highest graded player was Weston Davis at sixty nine percent.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So it can be that and Western Kentucky's defense is
- 4:31Speaker 3: not good. Their offense is. Their offense ranks really high
- 4:34Speaker 3: in the country, first in the conference in like every
- 4:36Speaker 3: category they were top fifteen, and third down conversion the
- 4:40Speaker 3: offense was and you held them to was at four
- 4:42Speaker 3: or fifteen. The defense for Western Kentucky didn't have those stats.
- 4:48Speaker 3: One hundred and eight let me let me go ahead
- 4:50Speaker 3: and let me pull.
- 4:51Speaker 2: It back up.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I want to make sure that I get all these
- 4:53Speaker 3: numbers right. For Western Kentucky's defense, all right, they give
- 4:58Speaker 3: up twenty three points per game, which is fifty fourth
- 5:01Speaker 3: in the country, Rushing one hundred and seventy five yards
- 5:04Speaker 3: per game, which is one hundred and eighth in the country.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Passing they give up two hundred and twenty three yards
- 5:08Speaker 3: per game, which is seventy fifth in the country. They
- 5:11Speaker 3: give up three hundred and ninety nine yards per game,
- 5:13Speaker 3: which is ninety fifth in the country. They're fifty second
- 5:16Speaker 3: and third down conversion rates. Sacks they only had twelve
- 5:21Speaker 3: in the year. That was one hundred and twenty second
- 5:23Speaker 3: in the country. Twelve sacks the entire year. TFLs eighty
- 5:27Speaker 3: second in the country. So and I could go on
- 5:30Speaker 3: and on. I mean, turnover margins one hundredth in the country,
- 5:33Speaker 3: red zone defense ninety seventh in the country. So that
- 5:36Speaker 3: side of the ball for Western Kentucky's really bad. The
- 5:38Speaker 3: offense actually is like top fifteen in a lot of categories. Well,
- 5:42Speaker 3: the defense did what they were supposed to do. They
- 5:44Speaker 3: played well graded high. The offense going against a bad
- 5:47Speaker 3: Conference USA Western Kentucky defense didn't grade out high. You're
- 5:52Speaker 3: starting center, who you know goes down? I get that,
- 5:57Speaker 3: Bradley Moore only plays three plays, so you got to
- 6:00Speaker 3: move DJ Chester into the center position.
- 6:02Speaker 5: You had Williams goes down.
- 6:04Speaker 3: He was starting at right tackle, he had moved over
- 6:06Speaker 3: to left tackle. Then he goes down, so you got
- 6:08Speaker 3: to put Weston Davis back in there, and then you
- 6:10Speaker 3: got to put kernback at left tackle.
- 6:12Speaker 5: I realized there was a lot of.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Shuffling going on, but you would expect him against that
- 6:17Speaker 3: defense to great higher than sixty nine point six.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Well me, let me just add this, there's never been
- 6:22Speaker 4: a team to play tackle football. They didn't have to
- 6:25Speaker 4: shuffle lineman every single game, didn't have to shuffle lineman
- 6:28Speaker 4: throughout the season, have to play with eight seven, eight
- 6:31Speaker 4: to nine offensive lineman throughout the season.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So that's not there's there's no excuse there for that.
- 6:37Speaker 2: You got to play guys in.
- 6:38Speaker 4: You gotta coach him, You got to they have to
- 6:40Speaker 4: be ready, you have to scheme, you have to play
- 6:42Speaker 4: call around it. That's part of the job of the coaches,
- 6:45Speaker 4: and then it's the job of the player is to
- 6:46Speaker 4: execute it. When they do have to play in different positions.
- 6:49Speaker 4: But there's never been a team that's ever played with
- 6:53Speaker 4: five guys all season. There's hardly every game where there's
- 6:58Speaker 4: not some sort of sixth or seventh a man that
- 7:00Speaker 4: rotates in during the game because equipment malfunction, a small injury,
- 7:05Speaker 4: someone in the concussion protocol. Like, there's different things that happen.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Someone's got to get a new tape on his hand
- 7:09Speaker 4: or his ankle or his knee or whatever it is.
- 7:12Speaker 4: There's rotations that happen all the time, So that cannot
- 7:15Speaker 4: be a fallback excuse for anything that you say in
- 7:19Speaker 4: pass protection or run at the running game block And
- 7:22Speaker 4: that's not an excuse because every team deals with it. Now,
- 7:24Speaker 4: you might have a little bit more than other teams,
- 7:26Speaker 4: I got it. You might have caught some bad breaks
- 7:28Speaker 4: here and there, But this is tackle football at the
- 7:33Speaker 4: highest level of Division one.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Figured out inside the bouty for Chad one hundred and
- 7:43Speaker 3: eighth and rushing and we have to kick a field
- 7:46Speaker 3: goal from the one yard line.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and I.
- 7:53Speaker 3: My brain's hurting from watching a team on the one
- 7:56Speaker 3: yard line getting shot gun. And the frustrating part about
- 8:01Speaker 3: it is you started the game. You literally the first
- 8:04Speaker 3: play of this game for LSU, you were under center.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I know you can do it. You did it in
- 8:10Speaker 5: the game.
- 8:12Speaker 3: If you have a yard to go, why would you
- 8:14Speaker 3: start five yards behind?
- 8:17Speaker 5: Said one yard? And I know it's not just LSU
- 8:21Speaker 5: that does that, It's a lot of teams college. I
- 8:24Speaker 5: hate it.
- 8:26Speaker 3: As a running back, I hate it. So I've got
- 8:30Speaker 3: one yard to go. The defense knows I have one
- 8:31Speaker 3: yard to go, and we're gonna get in shotgun me.
- 8:34Speaker 3: As a running back, I'm gonna be coming across the formation.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I'm going towards the sideline while all eleven of the
- 8:41Speaker 3: defenders are coming towards me. They're going north and south.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I'm going east and west, and then at some point
- 8:48Speaker 3: I've got to try to put my foot in the
- 8:49Speaker 3: ground and then go north and south with no momentum
- 8:52Speaker 3: because I was going east and west and I'm gonna
- 8:54Speaker 3: try to score.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Now.
- 8:55Speaker 3: LSU didn't even try to run the ball. I mean
- 8:57Speaker 3: they had multiple plays. They threw the ball, quarterback fumbled it,
- 9:01Speaker 3: quarterback ran it I think one time. So they didn't
- 9:03Speaker 3: even give the opportunity to the running back to go
- 9:06Speaker 3: from east west to north south.
- 9:07Speaker 5: But don't don't line up and.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Gone on the one yard line unless it's like fourth
- 9:13Speaker 3: and one and you're like we're gonna throw the football. Sure,
- 9:18Speaker 3: that was such a bad sequence that that sequence of
- 9:21Speaker 3: plays was like indicative of what we've seen all season
- 9:24Speaker 3: long from the LSU off.
- 9:25Speaker 4: And I'll say this, the taking a snap from under
- 9:30Speaker 4: center and short yardage and goal line situations is five
- 9:35Speaker 4: times more challenging and then like a regular down a
- 9:38Speaker 4: distant situation because everything's so much tighter. There's usually a
- 9:41Speaker 4: nose guard over the helmet of the center. The center
- 9:44Speaker 4: has to get lower, like there's like taking a snap
- 9:47Speaker 4: at that point is harder, and it has to be
- 9:49Speaker 4: repped and repped and repped and practiced to feel like
- 9:51Speaker 4: comfortable with it. The quarterback has to ride the center
- 9:55Speaker 4: a little bit more. Usually he's usually shooting out to
- 9:58Speaker 4: try to get low pad level. It is different, so,
- 10:02Speaker 4: especially with the rotation that they've had at center, Like
- 10:05Speaker 4: if you're not one hundred percent quarter like comfortable that
- 10:08Speaker 4: you're gonna be able to do the most basic a thing,
- 10:10Speaker 4: which is the center quarterback exchange, then you have to
- 10:12Speaker 4: get gun.
- 10:13Speaker 2: So that'll be my only.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Excuse, and I only like try to try to make
- 10:18Speaker 4: sense of it because we know from what came out
- 10:23Speaker 4: during the Brian Kerry Kelly era, like we didn't do
- 10:25Speaker 4: a lot of live goal line situations, live short yarded situations,
- 10:29Speaker 4: so those the quarterbacks never had like a real chance
- 10:32Speaker 4: to practice. Now, Like I remember they going into like
- 10:35Speaker 4: nine on sevens or like inside run periods in practice
- 10:40Speaker 4: or goal line periods in practice, and like dreading it
- 10:43Speaker 4: because I knew that there was a potential for a
- 10:46Speaker 4: fumbled snap always, because like it's running game and they
- 10:50Speaker 4: know defense knows you're gonna run it. They pretty much
- 10:53Speaker 4: know what play you're going to run. So like the
- 10:54Speaker 4: center is always just like carrying the ball with them basically,
- 10:57Speaker 4: and you know, if you fumble the snap, actually it's
- 11:00Speaker 4: like a backup or a third string quarterback whatever, Like
- 11:02Speaker 4: it's going to look really dumb on you. So I'm
- 11:05Speaker 4: just bring that up just to say, like that's the
- 11:07Speaker 4: excuse I believe it has to be that they're not
- 11:11Speaker 4: one hundred percent comfortable with the s Q exchange, well
- 11:17Speaker 4: at least I hope, especially with offensive line is shifting around.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Yeah, well that's you know, like Herm Edwards said, do
- 11:24Speaker 5: your job. Do your job. It's part of your job,
- 11:27Speaker 5: for your job to get snapped.
- 11:28Speaker 3: For your job as a center to snap into the
- 11:30Speaker 3: Quarterback's part of your job as a quarterback to get
- 11:32Speaker 3: the snap from the center. It's part of your job
- 11:33Speaker 3: as a running back to the shore that you get
- 11:36Speaker 3: the ball from the quarterback.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Either way, that's part of it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: You're on the one yard, Like, get a yard. I
- 11:39Speaker 2: don't care.
- 11:39Speaker 4: If you're a shotgun. You can run out a punt formation.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Get a yard. Oh that'd be I'd be sick fifteen
- 11:44Speaker 4: yards back there. I've always heard that, like, yeah, okay,
- 11:47Speaker 4: you're gonna snap it five yards away from the ball. Well,
- 11:49Speaker 4: like if you take a snap from under center, you're
- 11:51Speaker 4: running away from the line of scrimmage with the ball.
- 11:53Speaker 3: But I'm talking more about the running back portion of it.
- 11:56Speaker 5: Fine, unless we're unless we're in pistol.
- 11:58Speaker 3: It's one yard, get it. Yes, if it's your job,
- 12:00Speaker 3: run yeah, exactly. So if it's one yard, go north
- 12:04Speaker 3: and south, not east and west. Before you go north
- 12:06Speaker 3: and south, it's bad football. It's bad planning. It's a
- 12:09Speaker 3: bad scheme. Hey, let me go this way, to go
- 12:12Speaker 3: that way while defense is going that way.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Clap count.
- 12:22Speaker 5: What would you have done?
- 12:23Speaker 3: What would you have done in two thousand and seven
- 12:25Speaker 3: if we were on the two yard line trying to
- 12:28Speaker 3: score against Florida Unless or Gary Croton, whoever it was,
- 12:31Speaker 3: would have called in a shotgun run, you know, change
- 12:35Speaker 3: the formation said no, we're not doing that.
- 12:37Speaker 5: That's dumb. I would have, yes, but it wouldn't have been.
- 12:43Speaker 4: He got scored in the on the goal line against
- 12:45Speaker 4: Virginia Tech on a shotgun quarterback.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I think as like a quarterback hornboss.
- 12:51Speaker 5: There's no way you scored, no doubt, no.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Little juke right a cut.
- 12:57Speaker 5: We will find that, believe you.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I can't wait to see this duke that you talked about.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Great cut, finding a lane, great vision, I mean Harlean
- 13:11Speaker 4: barry S vision. Mhm, it was it was in the
- 13:22Speaker 4: first half because it was before my spring wrinkle.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Ankle boy.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Well yeah. Moral of the story is we stink offense
- 13:32Speaker 2: right now?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Uh?
- 13:34Speaker 2: That stinks?
- 13:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that it does.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Shout out to p F Tiger seven says the Manny
- 13:42Speaker 3: Tigers just won the fifth and sixth grade super Bowl
- 13:45Speaker 3: in the NISE Texas League in the Power Eye attempted
- 13:49Speaker 3: one past this season.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Let's go low man wins. Let's go why don't you
- 13:54Speaker 2: throw a pass?
- 13:54Speaker 5: Must have just tried.
- 13:55Speaker 2: To keep on their two's.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it changed it up a little bit. No passes needed,
- 13:59Speaker 3: not when you're in the power eye.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I'm assuming they went over one.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Maybe it doesn't matter.
- 14:07Speaker 3: They won the championship, So shout out to them. One
- 14:12Speaker 3: shotgun in the one that whole sequence of plays they
- 14:16Speaker 3: shotgun in. Okay, it's not good. Everybody that does it
- 14:21Speaker 3: is bad.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Are you trying to say if we went under center,
- 14:24Speaker 2: we would have scored.
- 14:27Speaker 5: I'm not talking crazy here.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Let's not get wild.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Can you pull out the D side that play pulled up?
- 14:32Speaker 6: I have Matt Flynn's touchdown?
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:35Speaker 5: God, how grainy?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Watch this? Watch this vision?
- 14:41Speaker 4: Oh see that little shuffle, Kam Chancellor, see you ankles snatched?
- 14:50Speaker 5: Seriously though, is this what it looked like on TV?
- 14:52Speaker 4: Like when you it's much more clear. It's the download.

- 15:07Speaker 2: Watch this Watch this guy h uh uh uh.
- 15:12Speaker 5: Got Helm's pulled way too wide.
- 15:13Speaker 6: There was a little bit of a juke.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I think Helms was supposed to kick out and I
- 15:19Speaker 3: was supposed to go in and be the lead blocker.
- 15:21Speaker 3: He turned in and so I had to kick out.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I remember that play down there talking about it. I
- 15:26Speaker 3: got a stinger on that play that was That was
- 15:28Speaker 3: before the little high ankle took away the dual threat.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Slash. It's a slasher.
- 15:39Speaker 5: It was a juke.

- 18:56Speaker 3: I did get a text from someone who said air
- 19:00Speaker 3: quotes dual threat Matt Flynn versus Virginia Tech. Seven carries
- 19:04Speaker 3: for twelve yards one touchdown A big deal. That's almost
- 19:09Speaker 3: two yards of carry, double digits. I wonder what my
- 19:14Speaker 3: PFF grade would have been ninety Let's see how far
- 19:19Speaker 3: back PFF goes back to.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Two thousand and eight.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Lucky. I would love to go break down actual game
- 19:32Speaker 2: film with us Luck and like.
- 19:35Speaker 6: Get a QBR of ninety five point two.
- 19:37Speaker 5: That game, How You're Lucky two thousand and seven.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Wasn't I wasn't the cleanest quarterback in the game. That
- 19:48Speaker 4: game breaks off them though. H yeah, they like they
- 19:53Speaker 4: like to use me as a dual threat. But it
- 19:55Speaker 4: was really more of like we're just gonna run our
- 19:57Speaker 4: starting quarterback and the quarterback power up the middle, get
- 20:00Speaker 4: two yards in a cloud of dust situation. It wasn't
- 20:03Speaker 4: a lot of like let me get him out of
- 20:05Speaker 4: the edge, get him open space, suit has got It
- 20:08Speaker 4: was more it.
- 20:09Speaker 5: Saw those ankles and says, you know, I didn't really
- 20:11Speaker 5: say get on.
- 20:11Speaker 3: The edge, like this was more grinding in between the hashes, you.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Know, clap count situation.
- 20:18Speaker 4: This is like, uh, two thousand and seven, l sue,
- 20:21Speaker 4: We're gonna average two point eight yards to carry.
- 20:28Speaker 5: It worked all the way to a national championship.
- 20:33Speaker 2: M be nice to see. Maybe that a good We
- 20:37Speaker 2: will buddy.
- 20:39Speaker 5: Who's gonna be the coach though, at some point we
- 20:43Speaker 5: will have will coaching search.
- 20:47Speaker 3: We'll have some tape to show people what they want.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Jake, I want you to shout, Lane, I want you to.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Show that clip of that play that they thought was
- 20:57Speaker 3: a legal formation.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Do you have that it upstairs? Question? I hope not too. Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I gotta care.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I gotta gotta find the wires, so you can't just
- 21:06Speaker 4: throw that at me. What they don't have the wires?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Can? I ask why it's not connected at all times?
- 21:12Speaker 5: Are you afraid of what you're searching over there and
- 21:14Speaker 5: Taylor's going to see it?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Uh? Yeah, of course no.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Because when I connect, so you know, I use these
- 21:20Speaker 4: dual screens here, so when I connect it, it makes
- 21:23Speaker 4: everything go smaller, and then it takes away my dual
- 21:25Speaker 4: screens and it's just like the mirror image of the
- 21:27Speaker 4: same screen. I don't enjoy that only Taylor all up
- 21:31Speaker 4: in my business. What you have issues? Mo, bro give
- 21:39Speaker 4: the people what they want.
- 21:41Speaker 5: The what oh, someone'm talking about Lane. It's the same.
- 21:44Speaker 5: It's the same as last time we left her own.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Friday, the same Lane.
- 21:48Speaker 7: What more can we say?
- 21:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the same, doesn't matter, say the same things.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Hey, but hey, I'm just saying it is the same.
- 22:01Speaker 5: It is the same.
- 22:01Speaker 3: I mean, we're all hearing the same things. It's all
- 22:04Speaker 3: at the same point that it was when we left
- 22:06Speaker 3: your on Friday.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Isn't and we talked about it a lot more.
- 22:09Speaker 3: If we're not going to know anything into what what information?
- 22:13Speaker 7: I guess? I guess the numbers came out over the weekend.
- 22:16Speaker 7: Like thought their offering.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Him was that before after show. I don't even that
- 22:19Speaker 5: was after the.
- 22:20Speaker 7: Show, because I think it came out Saturday morning or
- 22:24Speaker 7: Friday night. Friday night, yeah, okay, Friday late at night.
- 22:28Speaker 7: It came out the with the offer.
- 22:30Speaker 5: That's about what we thought it would have to be.
- 22:33Speaker 3: You weren't going to pay him less than whole miss
- 22:35Speaker 3: was paying him, and he was already one of the
- 22:36Speaker 3: top ten highest paid coaches in the country. That was
- 22:39Speaker 3: always going to have to be the number you were
- 22:41Speaker 3: always going to have to get to a number that
- 22:43Speaker 3: was close to what is being reported. Yeah, that part
- 22:45Speaker 3: of it I didn't even think about or really even
- 22:47Speaker 3: care about, because you knew that's what.
- 22:49Speaker 2: It was going to be.
- 22:51Speaker 7: It is interesting, though, that the governor made a big
- 22:53Speaker 7: stink of big contracts just for him to be like
- 22:56Speaker 7: I blessed this one.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I like, really, just contract is governor approved?
- 23:02Speaker 7: Okay, thanks, I'm glad the governor approved of this.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Uh So when we left here so Friday night into
- 23:10Speaker 4: Saturday morning, like I was like, I don't really hear
- 23:14Speaker 4: from people because I don't seek breaking news. It's not
- 23:17Speaker 4: something like I don't try to take advantage of like
- 23:22Speaker 4: connections or people that I know or whatever try to
- 23:25Speaker 4: get information. It's just like why I don't care about that.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I don't want to break news. But I had people
- 23:32Speaker 4: reaching out to me telling me like, oh, it's done deal.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I got a guy. I got a guy. Everybody's got
- 23:39Speaker 2: a guy, got a guy on the inside.
- 23:40Speaker 4: This guy knows he's got insider knowledge, he's a money guy,
- 23:44Speaker 4: he's a this or that, and like if you're from
- 23:48Speaker 4: one person like so like we told like when the
- 23:50Speaker 4: Brian Kelly situation. I had one person reach out to me,
- 23:52Speaker 4: and I knew he was a trustworthy person, and.
- 23:55Speaker 2: You were the first person.
- 23:58Speaker 3: For me at least that as soon as you like
- 24:00Speaker 3: what you said early in that day that nobody else.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Had it was true. Yeah, so like that, that's that's fine.
- 24:06Speaker 4: But like Friday and Saturday, people reach out to me
- 24:09Speaker 4: with five or six. I got a guy, guy in
- 24:12Speaker 4: the ol field.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I got a guy, but he's a money guy.
- 24:17Speaker 5: He's the owner of the old field.
- 24:20Speaker 4: He's in the field the field. I got this guy.
- 24:23Speaker 4: I got this guy. I got this guy. There, it's
- 24:26Speaker 4: a done deal signed, Like I don't believe you, Well,
- 24:31Speaker 4: maybe I do believe you, but like there's so many
- 24:34Speaker 4: people with insider knowledge. It's like I tweeted the South
- 24:38Speaker 4: Saturday morning. I was like, either l s U, the
- 24:41Speaker 4: powers that beat LSU are the worst at keeping secrets
- 24:44Speaker 4: in the history of secrets. Or that's a little bit
- 24:49Speaker 4: of look over here, a little bit of in a
- 24:52Speaker 4: rabbit out of the hat situation.
- 24:54Speaker 3: But you look over there, you also got to look
- 24:55Speaker 3: over here, master puppeteer and Jimmy Sexon, I don't know he.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Did me with a D. Keith Carter on Friday.
- 25:04Speaker 8: Yeah, and when Carter released his statement, half of its
- 25:07Speaker 8: crap where he's like, we're focused on the egg Bowl,
- 25:09Speaker 8: nobody cares. He said, you know, well, we had conversations
- 25:12Speaker 8: regarding his future. An announcement on Kiffin's future is expected Saturday,
- 25:17Speaker 8: following the Egg Bowl. On Friday's announcement, I get it,
- 25:22Speaker 8: But if you want to be if you want to
- 25:26Speaker 8: be eternal optimist, you could say, well, if Kifvin was staying,
- 25:29Speaker 8: why wouldn't they just announce that now?
- 25:32Speaker 2: Sure, because he probably doesn't know. He probably doesn't exactly.
- 25:38Speaker 6: He has Saturday till Saturday to make up his mind,
- 25:40Speaker 6: is what I read.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Maybe it is a done deal in the fact that
- 25:43Speaker 4: he handshake agreement and said yeah, I'll come. Maybe he's
- 25:46Speaker 4: even like signed a letter of intent. I don't even know,
- 25:49Speaker 4: like whatever. Obviously, if he signed a letter of attendants
- 25:51Speaker 4: a breach of contract, and if you blink, Kefvin breaches
- 25:54Speaker 4: this contract and don't miss. I think he has a
- 25:55Speaker 4: miss four million dollars, which I'm assuming LSU would agree
- 25:58Speaker 4: to pay the top of the night million blah blah blah, whatever.
- 26:02Speaker 2: What's four million? It's just money is a thing.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Apparently in Louisiana we got a lot of it. But
- 26:09Speaker 4: he could also sign a letter of intent and then
- 26:12Speaker 4: not sign a contract. He can change his mind, right,
- 26:15Speaker 4: even if his mind is made up, if we're convinsed
- 26:17Speaker 4: that his mind is made up, which is what people
- 26:20Speaker 4: were trying to tell me.
- 26:22Speaker 7: Literally, anything can happen from here to Saturday.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it can change too.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Again, like Marcus Freeman was gonna come be the defensive coordinator,
- 26:30Speaker 3: like he was going to do it, and then eleventh
- 26:33Speaker 3: hours like I'm not doing it. That happens not all
- 26:36Speaker 3: the time, but in these coaching searches, you'd be surprised
- 26:39Speaker 3: how many times that does happen.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Like we're gonna do it, let's agree.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Okay, cool, cool, cool, and then it comes time to
- 26:44Speaker 3: actually get on a plane and come down and do it.
- 26:47Speaker 3: And it's like, actually, I mean, we've seen Billy Donovan
- 26:51Speaker 3: when he was coaching, like he goes and does like
- 26:53Speaker 3: a magic press conference. He's gonna be the magic coach
- 26:56Speaker 3: and he's like, ah, actually, let's don't do this.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah, right, So we've seen coaches.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Yes, softball situation here years ago, same situation.
- 27:05Speaker 6: Was the name Murphy.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Yeah, like you're you're pressed like you're going to be
- 27:08Speaker 3: the coach, and it's like, actually, oh my gosh, it's
- 27:11Speaker 3: like Ricky Bobby's dad when things start getting a little
- 27:13Speaker 3: too comfortable, I gotta get out of here. So like
- 27:16Speaker 3: that happens for sure, So it could change. But uh,
- 27:20Speaker 3: the fact of the matter is like one of these
- 27:21Speaker 3: rumors is going to be true. One of them is
- 27:24Speaker 3: gonna be true. He's gonna be somewhere. He's not gonna
- 27:26Speaker 3: not coach next year. So if it's LSU great, I
- 27:31Speaker 3: love the coach. I hate the circumstance, but all this
- 27:35Speaker 3: is happening, love the coach. I'd be super stoked to
- 27:37Speaker 3: have him as a hell after watching that offensive performance
- 27:40Speaker 3: on Saturday. Yeah, yes, that would be stoked to have
- 27:43Speaker 3: link iff In calling plays.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I just hate the circumstance and all of it. We
- 27:46Speaker 4: can get more into that a little bit later. But
- 27:51Speaker 4: it's uh if, and he might be the head guys,
- 27:55Speaker 4: he might have agreed or whatever.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 27:58Speaker 4: I'll tell you what, if you wanted to stay put
- 28:00Speaker 4: and get the most money you could, I think the
- 28:02Speaker 4: best rumor that could get out is that you've agreed
- 28:04Speaker 4: with another school for a lot of money. That's the
- 28:08Speaker 4: best kind of rumor to get out if you wanted
- 28:10Speaker 4: to stay at your current school and make the most
- 28:12Speaker 4: money possible. Yeah, the best thing to happen is for
- 28:16Speaker 4: them to think you are going somewhere else, even if
- 28:21Speaker 4: it screws up your current team that's trying to win
- 28:23Speaker 4: a national championship, playing in a big rivealry game to
- 28:26Speaker 4: a team that's pretty dangerous.
- 28:28Speaker 3: You want to know, like the room real part that
- 28:32Speaker 3: I actually have heard from people that you know I do,
- 28:35Speaker 3: I do think have great information.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Is the coach O part of it? Like that, I
- 28:41Speaker 5: think that does have some legs.
- 28:44Speaker 3: If Lena has come back, there would be an opportunity
- 28:48Speaker 3: for coach for what position I think defensive line.
- 28:52Speaker 5: To talk about I don't know, I don't know, or
- 28:56Speaker 5: maybe or maybe you know, maybe.
- 28:59Speaker 3: It's you're going to be the lead recruiting assistant to
- 29:02Speaker 3: the head coach and I don't know, I don't know
- 29:06Speaker 3: what it's gonna be.
- 29:07Speaker 5: But like I think enough people have.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Mentioned that that are that are pretty locked in that
- 29:13Speaker 3: that does have legs. I prefer I think Kyle's done
- 29:17Speaker 3: an incredible with what he's been given and guys that
- 29:22Speaker 3: were here five years before he got here, in the
- 29:25Speaker 3: level of play that they're playing at, Like Guillory's playing
- 29:28Speaker 3: his best football, not even close. And this is his
- 29:31Speaker 3: sixth year, right, this six year guy, Well, what's the
- 29:34Speaker 3: reason for that.
- 29:35Speaker 5: It's Kyle Williams.
- 29:36Speaker 6: So this is gonna sound like a shot at coach. Oh,
- 29:40Speaker 6: and it is not.
- 29:41Speaker 8: I don't know why a head coach would want to
- 29:45Speaker 8: have it or you're on on his l s U staff.
- 29:48Speaker 8: I mean, he was a guy that was a head
- 29:50Speaker 8: coach at this program that won a national championship. To me,
- 29:53Speaker 8: I wouldn't do that. You just have that kind of
- 29:55Speaker 8: breathing down your neck the whole time.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I wouldn't.
- 29:57Speaker 6: I wouldn't do it. And it's not it's not coach,
- 29:59Speaker 6: it's f It just kind of is what it is.
- 30:01Speaker 3: It's a unique situation. Now, you know, obviously they have
- 30:05Speaker 3: a great relationship. Like advance Joseph right now is the defense
- 30:08Speaker 3: coordinator for the Broncos. He was the head coach for
- 30:11Speaker 3: one year, got fired and they got the best defense
- 30:13Speaker 3: in the NFL. So we've seen that happen before. Yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 3: I mean Patrino is a.
- 30:19Speaker 5: Bad example because Patrino's now the inter head.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Coach advance didn't wasn't the head coach of the greatest NFL. Yeah,
- 30:25Speaker 4: I'm not saying that.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I'm just saying, like we've seen examples of guys being
- 30:29Speaker 3: a head coach, being fired and coming back.
- 30:31Speaker 4: I think that I think they have probably have a
- 30:33Speaker 4: really good relationship. So I think that I think that
- 30:37Speaker 4: relationship would work out fine.
- 30:40Speaker 2: I don't.
- 30:41Speaker 4: It's about to find them in the right position, don't. Yeah,
- 30:44Speaker 4: it's just assistant head coach. Yes, yeah, head of pregame speeches, and.
- 30:49Speaker 3: You're going to be in the defensive meetings, and you're
- 30:51Speaker 3: going to be you know, a recruiting and get everybody
- 30:54Speaker 3: ready to go and talking to the media. Can you
- 30:56Speaker 3: imagine like head of recruiting, he wouldn't have to worry
- 30:59Speaker 3: about even coaching, just head of recruiting.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Right. So, like.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I'm telling you this defensive staff man, I want to
- 31:09Speaker 3: I want to try to keep as many of those
- 31:11Speaker 3: guys in place as you can. Even the running quarterback
- 31:14Speaker 3: stuff that a lot of people point out. If you
- 31:17Speaker 3: kind of read between some of the tweets out there,
- 31:19Speaker 3: there was some things I think that we're being told, Hey,
- 31:21Speaker 3: you got to do this defensively that once they've kind
- 31:25Speaker 3: of been freed up. Think about what the defenses look
- 31:28Speaker 3: like in those situations. Like even last week you played
- 31:31Speaker 3: like Western Kentucky's guy had run for a lot of yards.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Green To run for a lot of yards at Arkansas.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Even Ty Simpson and had some big runs at Alabama.
- 31:39Speaker 3: So even that's been cleaned up since you make a
- 31:42Speaker 3: coaching change. So anyhow, you got a lot of guys.
- 31:48Speaker 3: You've got a lot of guys on that side of
- 31:49Speaker 3: the ball that you got to try to retain bring back.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I tell you create a great defense staff. And then
- 31:56Speaker 3: on the other side, I think it's you know, it's
- 31:58Speaker 3: gonna be a it's gonna be a reset, certainly when
- 32:01Speaker 3: you're bringing in an offensive minded head coach.
- 32:03Speaker 4: What I want to ask you about, and let's do
- 32:05Speaker 4: this after the break, is what Jacob Hester would do
- 32:11Speaker 4: in Lane Kiffin's shoes. Right now when I have to
- 32:13Speaker 4: make a decision on leaving a team, See what you
- 32:18Speaker 4: think on that?
- 32:18Speaker 5: All right, are you gonna give yours too?
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah? For sure.
- 32:21Speaker 5: The laundry you're gonna give yours.
- 32:24Speaker 2: And the repercussions, the fallout of them.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Oh, dude, if you want me to they tell you
- 32:28Speaker 5: and give yours too.
- 32:29Speaker 3: No no shop, okay, all right, fair enough, all right,

- 33:14Speaker 4: store yep, I gotta reemphasize it over nervous repetitions. Jake, Hey,
- 33:20Speaker 4: if you need a car, they got cars, uh, mid size,
- 33:24Speaker 4: big size, small size, whatever it is. If it's a
- 33:29Speaker 4: brand new car, if it's a used car if it's
- 33:31Speaker 4: a long term belief that if that makes more sense
- 33:34Speaker 4: for you financially. They got everything you need right over there,
- 33:36Speaker 4: all Star toye a, Venaries.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Dot Com, Tigers Turn Talkers, This is off the bench.
- 34:00Speaker 9: A whole awesome nervously to me and my train.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I wish it was.
- 34:10Speaker 5: The self has been good, it's.
- 34:13Speaker 9: Been shifty, and I feel because show this stops the
- 34:22Speaker 9: script stop.
- 34:26Speaker 5: All right, welcome back in OTB.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Remind you and our friends over at Russell Pool Company
- 34:32Speaker 3: Russell Pools dot com. When you go to the website,
- 34:35Speaker 3: you can find a full gallery of what they've done
- 34:37Speaker 3: here in the greater Batoneruge area, but throughout the state
- 34:39Speaker 3: of Louisiana. You can check out financing options right there
- 34:42Speaker 3: on the homepage as well. It is truly the one
- 34:45Speaker 3: stop shop from the very beginning to the build and
- 34:49Speaker 3: then afterwards as well, because they can service your pool.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I mean, it's maintenance, it is the construction, it is
- 34:55Speaker 3: everything that you need.
- 34:56Speaker 5: They are the one stop shop. Go to Russell Pools
- 34:59Speaker 5: dot com.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Let's build your dream pool together, and they do that
- 35:03Speaker 3: at Russell Cool Company. All right, Jake, Oh, I forgot
- 35:11Speaker 3: mm hmm.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I forgot No, no, no, no, all right.
- 35:15Speaker 4: So Jacob Hester, you're the head coach of ole Miss,
- 35:19Speaker 4: butt your team in a historic run for Ole Miss.
- 35:23Speaker 4: You've been the head coach there for a good handful
- 35:26Speaker 4: of years. I've really built that program up to a
- 35:29Speaker 4: place where it's nationally relevant. Actually playing for a national
- 35:33Speaker 4: championship this year, with the opportunity to go and beat
- 35:35Speaker 4: your rival this week, I'm still not getting to it. Yeah,
- 35:39Speaker 4: let's still got a chance to get in a playoff.
- 35:41Speaker 4: You actually have a chance, Jake, to host a playoff game.
- 35:46Speaker 2: In Oxford.
- 35:48Speaker 4: But there's this, there's this it you've been wanting to
- 35:51Speaker 4: scratch for a long time. That's the l s U job.
- 35:53Speaker 4: But it means that you got to leave your team
- 35:55Speaker 4: high and dry. You got to leave those young men
- 35:57Speaker 4: that you've been developing and molding and recruited and then
- 36:00Speaker 4: spent time with their families. You know their parents' names,
- 36:03Speaker 4: you know their brothers and sisters' names. Got a great
- 36:06Speaker 4: relationship to it. So what are you going to do?
- 36:09Speaker 4: Are you going to leave them to take your dream job?
- 36:14Speaker 4: Even though the current place is offered to match. They
- 36:17Speaker 4: said they wouldn't be outdid so they would match, all
- 36:21Speaker 4: the money, all the moneys are are you staying?
- 36:28Speaker 5: All right?
- 36:29Speaker 3: So the meathead in me, which is like ninety percent
- 36:33Speaker 3: of me, it's saying, stay, I'm going to coach that team.
- 36:38Speaker 3: It's unfortunate the timing. I do want to go to
- 36:40Speaker 3: my dream job. Uh So, yeah, that portion of it.
- 36:43Speaker 3: And yeah, look you probably knew the answer. I think
- 36:44Speaker 3: that's why Matt asked the question. He wanted to hear
- 36:46Speaker 3: me say it, like I would coach that team for sure,
- 36:50Speaker 3: just what I would do. I've never been a coach
- 36:55Speaker 3: obviously anywhere close to this level, so I don't know
- 36:58Speaker 3: the dream job eight.
- 37:02Speaker 5: Tenu, sir, I don't know.
- 37:05Speaker 2: We're getting up there in years.
- 37:06Speaker 3: So like that portion of it, So like it's hard
- 37:08Speaker 3: for me to answer it, Like again, what I would
- 37:10Speaker 3: do at Stay, y'all know me, but I'm not there
- 37:15Speaker 3: every day, so I don't know if like okay, Like
- 37:18Speaker 3: in his mind he's like, dude, we're doing everything we
- 37:20Speaker 3: possibly can and we're still not getting even to Atlanta.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Still got a chance to win a championship. I don't
- 37:25Speaker 3: think they do, but they have a chance. And so
- 37:27Speaker 3: but they've still never been to Atlanta. They've still never
- 37:31Speaker 3: gone to an SEC chair. The team that you say
- 37:34Speaker 3: is not in the SEC, Missouri has gone to two
- 37:37Speaker 3: and they've been in the conference for thirteen years. Texas
- 37:40Speaker 3: one year in and they went, so like, there's that
- 37:44Speaker 3: portion of it too in his mind that I'm sure
- 37:47Speaker 3: he's thinking, man, they went to an SEC championship game
- 37:50Speaker 3: under Brian Kelly and they you know, and they moved
- 37:53Speaker 3: on from the guy.
- 37:55Speaker 5: So I don't know what.
- 37:56Speaker 3: In his mind if he sees like the path for
- 37:58Speaker 3: success and how tapped out he thinks they are there,
- 38:01Speaker 3: Maybe they're not.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Again, they still have a chance this year.
- 38:04Speaker 3: They will make the CAST Football Playoff unless crazy things happen.
- 38:07Speaker 3: I get what you're saying, But that's the only thing
- 38:10Speaker 3: I can think is he's thinking, man, we've done all
- 38:12Speaker 3: of this, We've done all this great work.
- 38:14Speaker 5: We keep getting praise for all.
- 38:15Speaker 3: The things we've done here, and we still haven't even
- 38:17Speaker 3: played for the conference title.
- 38:22Speaker 4: If you think, well, okay, so you're saying you would stay.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Just based off coaching the team and them having a chance, Yeah,
- 38:34Speaker 3: I think I would.
- 38:35Speaker 5: But again I do want to point out I don't
- 38:37Speaker 5: know what.
- 38:38Speaker 3: It's like to have a top tier dangling right there
- 38:43Speaker 3: for you. Like, as a player, I'm trying to think,
- 38:46Speaker 3: like what that compared to be.
- 38:48Speaker 4: It would bother me that I would have to that
- 38:51Speaker 4: I'm gonna leave, leave to go play, to go take
- 38:54Speaker 4: the job of a school that I got to play
- 38:56Speaker 4: every single year. That part would bother me, certainly. There's yeah,
- 39:05Speaker 4: there's zero percent chance that I would that I would
- 39:08Speaker 4: leave in like in a comparable situation. Of course, if
- 39:11Speaker 4: it was LSU and it was me Ould, I would
- 39:13Speaker 4: leave for anybody to go coach at LSU.
- 39:15Speaker 5: But anybody where home is for Lane Kiffen.
- 39:21Speaker 2: State.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Okay, so that's would he would he played. So there's
- 39:26Speaker 3: Billy Bullock's back up.
- 39:27Speaker 4: You have to sit there and look those men in
- 39:28Speaker 4: the eye and say I'm leaving you before the playoffs start.
- 39:32Speaker 4: That enough alone, in itself would be enough to not
- 39:35Speaker 4: make me take a job somewhere else. Maybe not because
- 39:39Speaker 4: I like what exactly I want, but how hard it
- 39:41Speaker 4: would be to leave a situation like that, especially at
- 39:45Speaker 4: this time now if they had three or four losses, yeah,
- 39:47Speaker 4: that's a completely different situation. And I mean I loved
- 39:52Speaker 4: what Nick Saban said on game day this past Weekend
- 39:55Speaker 4: about he did say that it wasn't Alane Kiffen conundrum.
- 40:01Speaker 2: I think was the word. It's a college football issue.
- 40:04Speaker 4: The timing of everything early signing day for high school
- 40:07Speaker 4: kids is dumb. It makes everybody have to rush and
- 40:12Speaker 4: make these decisions. It makes coaches have to make these
- 40:15Speaker 4: awful impossible decisions of leaving a team to take another job.
- 40:18Speaker 4: They shouldn't have to do that. Lane Kiffton should not
- 40:21Speaker 4: have to decide right now. Saban compared the NFL to
- 40:26Speaker 4: the college. In the NFL, you cannot leave a coaching
- 40:28Speaker 4: job until your team season is over. It should be
- 40:31Speaker 4: the same thing in college football, and it's not. And
- 40:35Speaker 4: I know it's impossible to do that because of all
- 40:37Speaker 4: the schedules. Change the schedule. Somebody step up to the
- 40:40Speaker 4: plate and make college football makes sense. It is in
- 40:43Speaker 4: such a foo bar state right now that a coach
- 40:48Speaker 4: that's coaching for a national championship with a group group
- 40:51Speaker 4: of young men eighteen to twenty three years old, he's
- 40:54Speaker 4: got to tell them by in the middle of their chase,
- 40:57Speaker 4: in the middle of what they built, because he's taken
- 40:59Speaker 4: a better opportunity. No one can blame him for taking
- 41:01Speaker 4: a better opportunity, but the circumstance in which he has
- 41:05Speaker 4: to do it is crappy. It's awful, and it's college
- 41:09Speaker 4: football's fault. And yeah, you can blame him and say, well, coach,
- 41:13Speaker 4: you know Lane Kiffin can't ever talk about loyalty again
- 41:15Speaker 4: if he if he decides to leave, you can't. You
- 41:16Speaker 4: can't say, oh, you got to be loyal to the team, player, X,
- 41:20Speaker 4: y Z, whatever it is. Well, the state of the
- 41:25Speaker 4: fou bar state of college football has forced.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Him to make this decision and it sucks.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Like I said, I would be ecstatic if he was
- 41:35Speaker 4: a coach at LSU, I would be upset at the situation.
- 41:39Speaker 2: I love the coach, I hate the circumstance. Yeah, that
- 41:44Speaker 2: part of it is completely fair.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Same situations, looking at what the opportunity is and you
- 41:53Speaker 3: have to you got to ask the tough question.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Do I go to a place that I think.
- 42:00Speaker 3: My career and the players can can thrive potentially like
- 42:07Speaker 3: nothing's guaranteed by any means, or do we you know,
- 42:11Speaker 3: you stay here and like what is the ceiling?
- 42:13Speaker 5: Like what truly is is this the ceiling? Does he
- 42:16Speaker 5: feel like.
- 42:17Speaker 3: He has squeezed every ounce of juice that he possibly can.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Who's the state you're playing for, destin?
- 42:22Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 42:22Speaker 3: I'm just saying I think that's a loser mentality if
- 42:25Speaker 3: you do. We're not there every day though, I mean,
- 42:29Speaker 3: I agree with you, I agree. I'm saying we're not
- 42:30Speaker 3: there day in and day out.
- 42:32Speaker 4: We haven't been there for We can't look at the
- 42:34Speaker 4: history of oh Miss because this isn't the same. College
- 42:36Speaker 4: football is a different that era of college football. Look
- 42:38Speaker 4: at what they've done since he's been there. Say well,
- 42:40Speaker 4: we're gonna keep doing that. I'm doing this with a
- 42:43Speaker 4: quarterback that I got from what Paras State?
- 42:47Speaker 2: Fairris State? Doing all this with a Fair State quarterback?
- 42:52Speaker 2: All right?
