- 0:00Speaker 1: Time off or back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: balanced life Chiropractic. Hello, doctor Harley, how.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Are you, hey, John? I'm doing right in yourself.
- 0:06Speaker 1: I'm fantastic. We've got Valentine's coming up this weekend, so
- 0:09Speaker 1: we've got all kinds of love in the air, and
- 0:12Speaker 1: it's a beautiful week. We've got some beautiful weather, so
- 0:15Speaker 1: people are getting out and they should get a little
- 0:16Speaker 1: bit of fresh air right now, shouldn't they.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yeah, this is highly unusual.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I think someone's tell me on Monday that we were
- 0:22Speaker 3: near the record like historical high if we didn't hit it,
- 0:26Speaker 3: I don't remember what this is. Said.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Well, it's been beautiful and I'm going to take every
- 0:30Speaker 1: little bit of it because I can also think of
- 0:32Speaker 1: times when it's been very, very cold this time of year.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yeah, So give your body some love, you know, since
- 0:37Speaker 3: it is the month of love, and get outside, get
- 0:40Speaker 3: some sunshine. It's great for your health, it's great for
- 0:43Speaker 3: your mental health, it's great for your immune system, and
- 0:46Speaker 3: you get out moving and get off your butt.
- 0:48Speaker 2: For a while.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah. What is the vitamin you get from the sun
- 0:50Speaker 1: is at vitamin D.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Vitamin D helps build the immune system. Stronger.
- 0:54Speaker 3: That's why a lot of times in the wintertime we
- 0:56Speaker 3: do get sicker because we aren't outside as much, so
- 0:58Speaker 3: our immune system does get a little more depressed.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you get that from sunshine and some kinds of milk.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Maybe, Yeah, they fortify it in milk.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, not the skim that's just watered down milk.
- 1:11Speaker 1: This other good stuff.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Actually, broccoli is a good source of vitamin D.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I love broccoli, you know, I avoided broccoli for forty
- 1:17Speaker 1: years and then I finally tried it and I'm like,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I love I order it at the restaurants. All it
- 1:21Speaker 1: surprises them when the fact I orders broccoli, They're like, really,
- 1:24Speaker 1: are you joking me?
- 1:25Speaker 2: You don't want fries?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but I love It's really really good. So that
- 1:28Speaker 1: that has vitamin D in it as well.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It's a good source of vitamin D.
- 1:31Speaker 3: And if you aren't getting it in your diet or
- 1:33Speaker 3: getting out in the sun, supplementing with vitamin D can
- 1:36Speaker 3: really help with your immune system, even with like.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Seasonal depression disorder.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I hear a lot of my patients, you know, if
- 1:42Speaker 3: they do have some depression symptoms that their doctors will
- 1:47Speaker 3: prescribe them to take more vitamin D because it does
- 1:49Speaker 3: help boost.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Your mood, very very nice. So in addition to the
- 1:52Speaker 1: beautiful weather getting outside. Doctor John, I'm not a doctor,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I don't even play one on the radio, but I
- 1:58Speaker 1: encourage you to try some broccoli if you've had it before.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I mean, does it sound wild that I'd never had
- 2:03Speaker 1: it before.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I mean there's always a stigma that kids don't like
- 2:06Speaker 3: green things, so they don't want to eat broccoli, or
- 2:08Speaker 3: they don't want to eat anything like that.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I had never even tried it my entire life, and
- 2:12Speaker 1: then it was like ten years ago when I was forty.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I don't even know why I tried it, but I
- 2:16Speaker 1: tried it. I was like, this is good. And then
- 2:17Speaker 1: you know what, elsa is really good asparagus.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You know, they do say your taste bunch changes you
- 2:22Speaker 2: get older, so that.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Could be something I had nothing to do. I'd never
- 2:24Speaker 1: even tried it before. I was like, if I didn't
- 2:26Speaker 1: have to eat it. So there's all kinds of stuff
- 2:27Speaker 1: that I had never tried. I didn't even have tartar
- 2:30Speaker 1: sauce or trying to think of the other thing. I
- 2:32Speaker 1: just had a cheeto this last year for the first
- 2:34Speaker 1: time in my life.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Oh you've never what are you living under a rock?
- 2:37Speaker 1: And a big mac? I had never had a big mac.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Heidi thought that was the weirdest thing. I finally had
- 2:41Speaker 1: to go and get a big mac. I'm like, seems
- 2:43Speaker 1: like a lot of bun involved in this sandwich.
- 2:46Speaker 2: There is, yeah, so.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, And maybe you're like John and you haven't tried
- 2:49Speaker 3: eating broccoli before or you didn't like it. Maybe give
- 2:52Speaker 3: it another shot. And there's a lot of different ways
- 2:55Speaker 3: to cook it, prepare it to make it taste better,
- 2:57Speaker 3: and get that vitamin D?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Is there any vitamin D in that big I was
- 3:00Speaker 1: talking about? How were those Cheetos?
- 3:02Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure it's fortified wheat that maybe you're
- 3:05Speaker 3: something of milk that I have it.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Well, I encourage you to get some fresh air. Well,
- 3:08Speaker 1: it's nice outside. And if if somebody listening is going, hey,
- 3:11Speaker 1: I would like to maybe incorporate chiropractic in my health
- 3:14Speaker 1: plan because I think that's a good idea as well.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That is a great time too.
- 3:17Speaker 3: You know, we talked this time a month, give your
- 3:19Speaker 3: spine some love, give your health some love, you know,
- 3:21Speaker 3: by going to the chiropractor.
- 3:23Speaker 2: You know, it's the month of self love.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah, very very good. So if somebody would like to
- 3:28Speaker 1: add that, I encourage them to connect with you at
