2:03
Speaker 4: Lots to get to.
2:04
Speaker 3: This morning, we are already underway with our first ever
2:08
Speaker 3: Drop your Snacks event. It's happening on our parking lot
2:11
Speaker 3: eleven eleven Virginia Street, Ease and Charleston, which is where
2:15
Speaker 3: studios are. In fact, we actually started at seven this
2:18
Speaker 3: morning and we're gonna go till six pm this evening.
2:21
Speaker 3: Big shout out to the folks at Union Mission for
2:23
Speaker 3: helping us out. We are collecting non perishable food items,
2:28
Speaker 3: you know, the kinds of things kids would like, think
2:30
Speaker 3: about cereals, think about mac and cheese, juices, things of
2:35
Speaker 3: that nature. Simply drop them off on our parking lot
2:38
Speaker 3: eleven eleven Virginia Street, Ease and Charleston. In fact, you
2:41
Speaker 3: don't even have to get out of your car. That's
2:43
Speaker 3: the cool thing about this, because we set up about
2:45
Speaker 3: seven o'clock out there with members of our staff that
2:48
Speaker 3: have been out there. Big shout out to my buddy
2:51
Speaker 3: who's just volunteering this time, Brian Brennan, who just kind
2:54
Speaker 3: of showed up and said, hey, I want to help.
2:55
Speaker 3: And so Brian is out there help. It's not even
2:57
Speaker 3: employed here and he's out there on our parking lot
3:00
Speaker 3: helping us out today. So we certainly do appreciate him
3:02
Speaker 3: and the other folks that are helping out as well.
3:05
Speaker 3: And I got to give a big shout out to
3:08
Speaker 3: the folks, and I think my brain ain't what it
3:11
Speaker 3: used to be. Communicare is the name of the company.
3:14
Speaker 3: About seven thirty or so. This morning, seven forty five,
3:18
Speaker 3: we're out on the parking lot and just you know,
3:21
Speaker 3: kind of waiting to get everything up and rolling, and
3:23
Speaker 3: this this big truck, big Dodge Ram truck pulls up.
3:27
Speaker 3: And we always tell people at these drops, you know
3:29
Speaker 3: that you can't park on her lot. I mean, we
3:32
Speaker 3: got crews to help. You've got a lot to get
3:34
Speaker 3: it out, but we have visitors to the station, people
3:36
Speaker 3: picking up prizes and so on and so forth, but
3:38
Speaker 3: we always tell them, you know, you can't park here.
3:40
Speaker 3: And that's what I thought this particular lady was doing
3:42
Speaker 3: when she was parking there. And so I realized that
3:45
Speaker 3: because her entire truck bed was filled up with snacks
3:48
Speaker 3: from the folks there at Communicare, they had taken up
3:52
Speaker 3: donations among the employees, and I presume that they went
3:56
Speaker 3: out to their sam store or something like that, because
3:58
Speaker 3: there were boxes, I mean giant boxes of stuff, bags
4:02
Speaker 3: the shoppy bags I mean, we carried I don't know
4:05
Speaker 3: how much of that stuff out there so a big
4:07
Speaker 3: shout out to the folks at Communicare for doing this,
4:12
Speaker 3: and again it's the kindness of West Virginia's that's what
4:15
Speaker 3: we do. The employees made it happen and we appreciate them.
4:19
Speaker 3: We're out there until six o'clock tonight and you can
4:21
Speaker 3: take cash. We can take cash and checks. And the
4:25
Speaker 3: folks from Union Mission are out here with us today,
4:28
Speaker 3: so it goes directly to them. I mean literally, you
4:30
Speaker 3: had a lady pull up earlier I was talking to
4:32
Speaker 3: She gave me a ten dollar bill. I went over
4:34
Speaker 3: and handed it to the gentleman from Union Missions. So
4:36
Speaker 3: here you go and they'll take it and they'll be
4:38
Speaker 3: able to do good things with it. And I think
4:41
Speaker 3: something that's very important to point out what these things
4:44
Speaker 3: is there are various programs that's around the state of
4:49
Speaker 3: West Virginia that do things like that, and God bless
4:51
Speaker 3: all of them from doing it. I had my good
4:53
Speaker 3: friend Doug Irwin from Backpack Buddies on the show earlier
4:56
Speaker 3: this week, and they do that, but not every area
5:00
Speaker 3: of the state is lucky enough to have something like this.
5:05
Speaker 3: And so the folks at Union Mission, you know, statewide organization,
5:08
Speaker 3: they got the network that they can get to some
5:10
Speaker 3: of these areas that aren't served because there are, like
5:13
Speaker 3: I said, even several school systems that provide hot lunches.
5:16
Speaker 3: They'll drive a bus to a community and set up
5:18
Speaker 3: and they'll give food out for the kids and whatever.
5:20
Speaker 3: But not every community has those. And that's one of
5:22
Speaker 3: the great things about dealing with Adjacent and the folks
5:25
Speaker 3: at Union Mission is they have this network all over
5:28
Speaker 3: the state of West Virginia that they are able to
5:31
Speaker 3: then get these items into the hands of the right people.
5:35
Speaker 3: And again, we're talking about things that kids would like
5:37
Speaker 3: to snack on this summer. We're talking about you can't
5:39
Speaker 3: go wrong with goldfish, crackers, can't go wrong with with
5:42
Speaker 3: ramen noodles, you can't go wrong with juices, you know, cookies, crackers,
5:50
Speaker 3: potato chips, things like that. So if you can find
5:52
Speaker 3: it in the kindness of your heart to help us
5:57
Speaker 3: out with this, we definitely would appreciate it. We're going
6:00
Speaker 3: to be on the lot until six o'clock tonight along
6:03
Speaker 3: with Union Mission, collecting these items. And again, you know,
6:06
Speaker 3: you can do what the folks that one company did
6:08
Speaker 3: when they brought in box after box, or you can
6:11
Speaker 3: bring in a single box.
6:12
Speaker 4: This here. We don't care.
6:13
Speaker 3: You can go up to your local dollar store as
6:16
Speaker 3: got them clean out your pantries. Just make sure it's
6:18
Speaker 3: still fresh and stuff, you know. And it's that simple.
6:22
Speaker 3: And again it's going to be a hot day to day,
6:23
Speaker 3: so you don't even have to get out of your car.
6:25
Speaker 3: We are out there, we are staffing. It's our it's
6:28
Speaker 3: our station, WCCHS. It's ninety eight to seven Mountain, it's
6:31
Speaker 3: ninety six to one kwskaz V one hundred to beat
6:35
Speaker 3: Charleston's ESPN Radio. We are all out there on the lot.
6:39
Speaker 3: Somebody two or three people will be there to unload
6:41
Speaker 3: your vehicle for you, or just to greet you and
6:43
Speaker 3: say thank you for helping helping folks out. So I
6:47
Speaker 3: have more in that a little bit later on. I
6:48
Speaker 3: think some of the folks that are out there from
6:50
Speaker 3: our stations is going to stop by the studio a
6:52
Speaker 3: little bit later on. Also, it's going to be joined
6:54
Speaker 3: by some folks from the Capital City Fraternal Order of Police.
6:57
Speaker 3: They've got a big event going on this weekend and
6:59
Speaker 3: tomorrow tomorrow is National Donut Day and celebrating a bit early.
7:06
Speaker 3: We're telling you about it today. We scheduled Teresa Ortiz
7:10
Speaker 3: from the Donut Connection on the show today. Not sure
7:13
Speaker 3: what happened. Well, maybe she's making the donuts, as the
7:14
Speaker 3: old commercial says, for a different company, but she has
7:18
Speaker 3: not joined us yet. This morning we apologize for that.
7:22
Speaker 3: Things happen. We'll see, probably won't be able to get
7:24
Speaker 3: her tomorrow on National Donut Day, so we'll maybe try
7:27
Speaker 3: to have her on again next year. But I do
7:29
Speaker 3: appreciate her for well making the effort I guess to
7:34
Speaker 3: try to get here. Maybe maybe she's out on the
7:35
Speaker 3: parking lot trying to get in right now. I don't know,
7:37
Speaker 3: but tomorrow is National Donut Day.
7:39
Speaker 4: Just so you know.
7:39
Speaker 3: Also want to let you know that the State Baseball
7:42
Speaker 3: Tournament gets underway over at Gomart Ballpark here in Charleston,
7:47
Speaker 3: and you can catch the all. We are the exclusive
7:49
Speaker 3: home of the State Baseball Tournament WV Metronews dot com.
7:52
Speaker 3: Also on our stations as well, we get several local
7:57
Speaker 3: teams that are in the tournament this year, including George,
8:01
Speaker 3: Washington and Hurricane. Some of the local teams that are
8:04
Speaker 3: in it, and a reminder that all of the championship
8:07
Speaker 3: games on Saturday will be streamed on Metro News TV,
8:11
Speaker 3: So a great time to remind you that if you
8:13
Speaker 3: have not yet downloaded the Metro News TV app, make
8:16
Speaker 3: sure that you do so you can catch all those
8:17
Speaker 3: championship games. Dave Wilson co host of Talkline.
8:21
Speaker 4: He and TJ.
8:21
Speaker 3: Meadows take care of talk Line. Dave Wilson actually calling action,
8:25
Speaker 3: one of the folks along with Fred and Kyle and
8:27
Speaker 3: Lukewigs that are calling the action. Dave is going to
8:29
Speaker 3: join us a little bit later on. He's actually in
8:32
Speaker 3: Charleston to do talk Line from here, then he's going
8:35
Speaker 3: to head over to the ballpark. So Wilson's going to
8:37
Speaker 3: join us a little bit later on the show to
8:38
Speaker 3: talk about kind of give us a little bit of
8:40
Speaker 3: a preview of what we can expect with the state tournament.
8:42
Speaker 4: So we got all that going on.
8:44
Speaker 3: Plus, Tomorrow is the final day for WV bargains dot Com.
8:50
Speaker 3: This is our online auction that we put together. We
8:53
Speaker 3: started it on Monday and there are some unbelievable deals
8:57

12:23
Speaker 4: And I almost just did it.
12:25
Speaker 3: Our first ever Drop your Snacks event is happening right
12:28
Speaker 3: now on our parking lot eleven eleven Virginia Street's Charleston
12:31
Speaker 3: with Union Mission. We got the crews standing by out there.
12:34
Speaker 3: Rob Reel from ninety six to one KWS, Steve Animal
12:36
Speaker 3: from the Mountain, Stephen Jenny are out there Form V
12:39
Speaker 3: one hundred as well, or at least will be when
12:41
Speaker 3: they wrap up the show. So we're going to be
12:42
Speaker 3: joined by some of those folks in studio just kind
12:45
Speaker 3: of give us a little update on what's going on
12:47
Speaker 3: out there. The hours again, we started at seven this morning,
12:49
Speaker 3: going until six o'clock this evening. It's real simple, just
12:52
Speaker 3: to bring us the snacks, food items, for the kids,
12:55
Speaker 3: and we're going to give them directly to Union Mission.
12:57
Speaker 3: The Union Mission truck is on our parking lot right now.
13:00
Speaker 3: And if you want to make cash or a check donation,
13:02
Speaker 3: you could do that as well. We'll be glad to
13:04
Speaker 3: accept those. And again they're right there. We'll just literally
13:06
Speaker 3: hand it right to them and we'll be able to
13:09
Speaker 3: help out some kids that may be hungry this summertime.
13:13
Speaker 3: School ended here in Kanawa County a couple of days ago.
13:15
Speaker 3: And again, the great thing about Union Mission is that
13:19
Speaker 3: lots of programs are doing things like this, and God
13:21
Speaker 3: bless them for doing it, but they got connections all
13:23
Speaker 3: over the state and there's a lot of the areas
13:25
Speaker 3: that simply don't get served by some of these folks
13:28
Speaker 3: that are doing good things. So that's the whole idea
13:31
Speaker 3: behind that. The folks from the Capital City Fraternal Order
13:34
Speaker 3: Police get the name right on that, Yes that is,
13:36
Speaker 3: or here's Steve Netto is with us.
13:38
Speaker 4: Welcome to the show, Steve, Hey doing man, I'm doing great,
13:40
Speaker 4: appreciate it be here all right? So what we got
13:42
Speaker 4: going on?
13:43
Speaker 3: First of all, what exactly is the Fraternal Order of Police?
13:45
Speaker 3: You hear that thrown out there a lot, and give
13:48
Speaker 3: us the mission, give us the whole idea of the
13:50
Speaker 3: definition of what is the FOP.
13:52
Speaker 8: The FOP, like you said, is the Fraternal or of Police,
13:55
Speaker 8: and we've been around since nineteen thirty four, that's when
13:57
Speaker 8: we were chartered. We actually represent the men and women
14:01
Speaker 8: in law enforcement, mainly municipal departments, but we also have
14:06
Speaker 8: deputies and troopers in our organization. But we represent them
14:10
Speaker 8: with the voice for them. We take care of them,
14:12
Speaker 8: we help them with issues, we help at the legislature,
14:16
Speaker 8: laws and whatever can do, whatever we can do for
14:19
Speaker 8: the betterment of law enforcement and the people of law
14:21
Speaker 8: enforcement in the state of West Virginia.
14:23
Speaker 4: And you don't need me to tell you that.
14:26
Speaker 3: Maybe not in West Virginia because we actually respect law
14:29
Speaker 3: and order in West Virginia, but around the nation, some
14:32
Speaker 3: of our brothers and sisters in blue, it's been a
14:34
Speaker 3: rough few years.
14:35
Speaker 8: It's been a very rough few years, the drop and
14:39
Speaker 8: respect for law enforcement, the drop in.
14:44
Speaker 4: Interest in what's going on.
14:46
Speaker 8: So we haven't seen it near to like you stated,
14:49
Speaker 8: to the national level, but it has been an issue
14:52
Speaker 8: even around here where law enforcement has been confronted and
14:56
Speaker 8: you know, facing additional charges not just the data taking care.
15:00
Speaker 9: Of people, but also additional problems and that's very unfortunate
15:05

15:30
Speaker 4: So what you got going on?
15:32
Speaker 8: Well, what we have going on? And let me finish
15:34
Speaker 8: real quick. Yeah, Capital C Lodge number seventy four. We're
15:36
Speaker 8: the biggest lodge in the state and we represent the
15:38
Speaker 8: officers of the City of Charleston, the City of Dunbar,
15:41
Speaker 8: the City of Nitro, the City of bel and some
15:44
Speaker 8: like I say, some deputies in Kenall County and some
15:46
Speaker 8: troopers and also some federal officers. But basically what we
15:50
Speaker 8: have coming up here is on Saturday this June seventh,
15:54
Speaker 8: from nine am to four pm is our twentieth annual
15:57
Speaker 8: FOP FOPA Car Show, Car and Bike Show, and we've
16:03
Speaker 8: been doing this now since two thousand and five and
16:06
Speaker 8: this is our twentieth And I also mentioned the FOPA,
16:09
Speaker 8: which I actually didn't introduce those folks, But there are
16:13
Speaker 8: Associate Lodge who are citizens in the community who take
16:16
Speaker 8: an active interest in law enforcement and supporting their law
16:19
Speaker 8: enforcement officers. So we do have an Associate Lodge and
16:22
Speaker 8: they have been a partner with us in this car
16:24
Speaker 8: show since the beginning, so that's why it's called the
16:27
Speaker 8: fopn FOPA Car and Bike Show.
16:29
Speaker 3: I didn't know that there was a group for associates
16:32
Speaker 3: for citizens in the community.
16:34
Speaker 8: Yes there is, and again we have a fairly large
16:36
Speaker 8: associate Lodge. The president, Jeff Stoker, is going to be
16:42
Speaker 8: present Saturday and there'll be a big contention to them.
16:45
Speaker 8: They volunteer and help us, as do the officers that
16:48
Speaker 8: are there. Everyone there is a volunteer because the money
16:52
Speaker 8: is basically going again to support the fopn FOPA, to
16:55
Speaker 8: support our property there and our various buildings, and we
17:00
Speaker 8: actually have a firearms range there, which most municipalities use
17:04
Speaker 8: for quaest is this. This is out eighty two FOP Lane,
17:08
Speaker 8: which is out Woodrum's Lane just past the DHHR building.
17:12
Speaker 3: Okay, and where's the car sho If I didn't already
17:14
Speaker 3: say that, where's the car show?
17:15
Speaker 4: And everything it did?
17:16
Speaker 8: The car show is located on that property. We have
17:18
Speaker 8: a thirteen acre property there and some huge fields and
17:22
Speaker 8: it'll be located in that field and we'd like.
17:25
Speaker 4: For anybody and everybody. It's free.
17:27
Speaker 8: We'd like for a guest to come and see what's
17:30
Speaker 8: going on out there and see a nice car show,
17:33
Speaker 8: maybe meet some people. And if you're interested in joining
17:35
Speaker 8: the FOPA, that's a good time to show up and
17:38
Speaker 8: do that and see and get access to the facilities.
17:41
Speaker 3: Talking again with Steve Netto from the Capital City FOP

17:57
Speaker 3: Husband's Pizza dot com. What kind of vehicles machines. What
18:01
Speaker 3: we see out at this car shows team.
18:02
Speaker 8: Well, we've got a fine selection, of course I've been
18:06
Speaker 8: going to it for years. But we see antique cars,
18:09
Speaker 8: We will see some tuner cars. There will be some
18:12
Speaker 8: really nice trucks.
18:16
Speaker 4: From modern to old.
18:17
Speaker 8: I've seen everything from sixty eight Camaros to the most
18:21
Speaker 8: to the newest corvette. Also we have some new cars.
18:25
Speaker 8: Downtown Ford supports us and they'll have several cars on display.
18:28
Speaker 8: I heard last night possibly up to eight vehicles, brand
18:31
Speaker 8: new cars that you can get in and out of
18:33
Speaker 8: and look at.
18:34
Speaker 4: So we appreciate that.
18:35
Speaker 8: But if you if you're into antiques, or if you're
18:38
Speaker 8: into hot rods or modern cars, that's the place to come.
18:42
Speaker 8: And motorcycles of course, and again the motorcycles. It runs
18:46
Speaker 8: the gamut of antique motorcycles all the way up to
18:48
Speaker 8: brand new Harley Davidson.
18:50
Speaker 4: So it's quite a quite a show and it covers
18:54
Speaker 4: it probably covers.
18:55
Speaker 8: Almost half of our property from one end, so it's
18:58
Speaker 8: pretty impressive.
18:59
Speaker 3: So how do people if they are lifting right now,
19:01
Speaker 3: they want to put a vehicle in the show, or
19:03
Speaker 3: they want to come out there on Saturday, how do
19:04
Speaker 3: they do that?
19:05
Speaker 8: That's great, great answer that our great question. The registration
19:09
Speaker 8: is nine am to noon and the entry fee is
19:14
Speaker 8: fifteen dollars and basically just show up sometime between nine
19:17
Speaker 8: and twelve out there at eighty two FOP Lane. Like
19:19
Speaker 8: I say, it's just past the you can't miss its.
19:22
Speaker 8: Just past the DHHR building. There's a huge police monument
19:25
Speaker 8: with we have a huge American flag and a POW
19:27
Speaker 8: flag in a West Virginia flag.
19:29
Speaker 4: You can't miss the FOP.
19:30
Speaker 8: We've marked it and we want the people to know
19:33
Speaker 8: that we're there and that's one of our interest is
19:36
Speaker 8: to be part of the community.
19:37
Speaker 4: And so you can't miss it.
19:40
Speaker 8: Entry fee fifteen dollars nine anytime from nine to twelve pm.
19:44
Speaker 8: And the show it wraps up fairly early in the afternoon.
19:47
Speaker 8: And the other nice thing about this show that I
19:48
Speaker 8: really like is that the people who enter the cars
19:52
Speaker 8: actually do the voting on what which car, and so
19:56
Speaker 8: it's actually your being your vehicle that you fixed yourself,
19:59
Speaker 8: you being peer reviewed. You're literally people who have done
20:02
Speaker 8: the same thing as you vote.
20:04
Speaker 4: On your car.
20:05
Speaker 8: But there's and we've got so many awards. I mean,
20:09
Speaker 8: Dashblacks for the first one hundred cars, top twenty five
20:12
Speaker 8: participant pick awards fifty to fifty drawing. I mean, and
20:15
Speaker 8: there's hundreds of prizes. So because we're getting a lot
20:19
Speaker 8: of support from people in the community. And to include
20:24
Speaker 8: like I said, West Virginia RC Media is supporting us
20:28
Speaker 8: and Tutors, Biscuit and Geno's and Downtown Ford railcat.
20:32
Speaker 4: Rubber to name a few.
20:34
Speaker 8: I mean, these are people that take an active interest
20:37
Speaker 8: in law enforcement and supporting us. And I can't stress
20:40
Speaker 8: enough a lot of this money our property has been
20:43
Speaker 8: there for quite a few years.
20:45
Speaker 4: We bought the place in nineteen eighty four.
20:46
Speaker 8: A lot of the money goes to help officers, officers
20:49
Speaker 8: who are in trouble without naming names. We had an
20:52
Speaker 8: officer that suffered several fatalities in his family last month.
20:57
Speaker 8: And these are things that we do because there is
20:59
Speaker 8: nothing else. We are the people that support the men
21:02
Speaker 8: in blue, and we do what we can and to
21:07
Speaker 8: support them and if in their.
21:08
Speaker 4: Time of need, and you know, talk about that support, Stephen.
21:13
Speaker 3: What are some of the things that for these officers
21:16
Speaker 3: that have been struggling a little bit, What are some
21:18
Speaker 3: of the things that your organization is able to do well.
21:22
Speaker 8: One of the first things we can do is we
21:23
Speaker 8: have access to various referral mechanisms, you know, for both
21:27
Speaker 8: health care and mental health. And we also and we
21:31
Speaker 8: stress that trying to help them with that. The other
21:33
Speaker 8: thing is is it I call it a national support,
21:37
Speaker 8: which is law enforcement from across the United States. The
21:41
Speaker 8: FOP Fraternal Police is the largest police organization in the
21:45
Speaker 8: United States, has over three hundred and twenty thousand members.
21:50
Speaker 8: And the organization that we're like a private GoFundMe if
21:54
Speaker 8: somebody needs money, needs assistance, their home, something got damaged.
21:58
Speaker 8: Some of the recent stuff we've on that people don't
22:01
Speaker 8: realize is the like earlier in the show, you all
22:06
Speaker 8: were talking about the Carolinas and what happened there. Well,
22:09
Speaker 8: the FOP was on the ground there also with money
22:12
Speaker 8: from here and from other places across the United States,
22:15
Speaker 8: supporting the police officers because they're out in the field,
22:18
Speaker 8: still working. Even after an emergency something like what came
22:21
Speaker 8: through there the flooding, they still have to go work.
22:24
Speaker 4: So we go.
22:25
Speaker 8: In behind and help them and support their families and
22:29
Speaker 8: support them because they really don't have any support.
22:32
Speaker 4: See, they have to continue working.
22:34
Speaker 3: That's something I never really would have thought of that
22:36
Speaker 3: the Fraternal Order of Police would have done was to
22:38
Speaker 3: be was to go into areas like that just to
22:41
Speaker 3: I mean, it shouldn't surprise me, but I mean I
22:43
Speaker 3: just something I wasn't aware of that you guys did
22:45
Speaker 3: that sort of thing.
22:46
Speaker 8: And we do it across the nation, and the National
22:49
Speaker 8: actually has several trucks, support trucks, food trucks, tractor traders.
22:53
Speaker 8: These are huge vehicles, and like I say, it's to
22:55
Speaker 8: support the law enforcement because when everybody else goes home
22:58
Speaker 8: or everybody's at home taking care and rebuilding their homes,
23:01
Speaker 8: the officers, because this is a national emergency, they're expected
23:05
Speaker 8: to continue going to work and to tender shift, and
23:08
Speaker 8: they may not have a home to go back to.
23:09
Speaker 8: So that's where we try to backfill and try to
23:12
Speaker 8: help him with that.
23:13
Speaker 4: Are you're a police officer yourself.
23:15
Speaker 8: I was a police officer with City of Charleston for
23:17
Speaker 8: twenty six years.
23:19
Speaker 4: I retired from the City of Charleston.
23:21
Speaker 3: What was it, Steve, that made you want to become
23:23
Speaker 3: a police officer.
23:25
Speaker 8: Well, I'll be honest, I was a young man when
23:27
Speaker 8: I first became a police officer, and really I was
23:30
Speaker 8: in a job that wasn't going anywhere, and I was
23:32
Speaker 8: looking and I was lucky that I met two officers
23:35
Speaker 8: from the City of Charleston and I was looking for
23:39
Speaker 8: a place to go, and they said, Steve the way
23:42
Speaker 8: number one. You need to settle down, you need to
23:43
Speaker 8: straighten up, and this is where you need to go.
23:46
Speaker 8: And I did that in nineteen eighty three and took
23:49
Speaker 8: the test for the City of Charleston. But once I
23:51
Speaker 8: got there, I don't know if it's my upbringing or whatever,
23:54
Speaker 8: but the job really suited me and I enjoyed it.
23:57
Speaker 8: And one of the things that that over the years
24:02
Speaker 8: really came to be you felt like you were doing something.
24:05
Speaker 8: You always felt when you came to work. You always
24:07
Speaker 8: felt like you were accomplishing something. Some days weren't great,
24:10
Speaker 8: but you were always It's like something it was a purpose,
24:14
Speaker 8: You had a purpose. You helped somebody pay one the best,
24:16
Speaker 8: but it was we did something. I patrolled the streets
24:20
Speaker 8: of Charleston, like I say, for twenty six years, and
24:23
Speaker 8: I met some of the greatest people and was able
24:25
Speaker 8: to help some people, I believe along the way. And
24:30
Speaker 8: I still think it's one of the best jobs you
24:31
Speaker 8: can ever have.
24:33
Speaker 3: What would you say that because you know, whether it's
24:35
Speaker 3: the city police, whether it's the counties or states or whatever.
24:38
Speaker 3: And this is a nationwide issue, Steve. People, just the
24:42
Speaker 3: young folks just aren't going in to the police business,
24:47
Speaker 3: so to speak. And trust me, with everything that you
24:49
Speaker 3: folks have gone through the last few years, I can
24:51
Speaker 3: understand why. I mean I really really can't. But what
24:53
Speaker 3: would you say to a young man or young woman
24:56
Speaker 3: that is thinking about a career and they don't like
24:59
Speaker 3: like you were, you know, you really didn't have a
25:00
Speaker 3: lot of direction, didn't know what you wanted to do.
25:03
Speaker 3: What would you say to those folks that are maybe
25:08
Speaker 3: thinking about a career in law enforcement?
25:10
Speaker 8: I would tell them to definitely try it, go do it.
25:12
Speaker 8: It's not gonna it's not gonna be what you think
25:14
Speaker 8: it is. It's not like in the movies. I can
25:16
Speaker 8: tell you that if you think you're going.
25:18
Speaker 3: You ever watch movies, You ever watch TV shows and
25:20
Speaker 3: movies and just cringe? Oh yes, yes, I think every
25:23
Speaker 3: because when I watch things about radio, I'm like, that's
25:25
Speaker 3: not the way it happens.
25:27
Speaker 4: I think that's true of every profession. But go ahead.
25:29
Speaker 8: I think that once you get into law enforcement and
25:32
Speaker 8: you start, and law enforcement that sometimes, But I think
25:38
Speaker 8: just try it. Get in there and take the test,
25:41
Speaker 8: you know, do the PT, get physically fit, try the
25:44
Speaker 8: job and see if you like it.
25:46
Speaker 4: You can always change.
25:48
Speaker 8: But once you get into law enforcement, once you meet
25:50
Speaker 8: the people there, once you've gone out a couple of times,
25:52
Speaker 8: once you've been there a couple of times late at
25:54
Speaker 8: night and done something to help somebody, and really see that,
25:57
Speaker 8: I think you're you'll slowly change.
25:59
Speaker 4: I believe that.
26:00
Speaker 8: I believe that over ninety percent of law law enforcement
26:03
Speaker 8: isn't in the job for the right reason. I believe
26:05
Speaker 8: that they're doing it because they really truly want to
26:08
Speaker 8: help people. And once once you do that, and once
26:11
Speaker 8: you realize the other people that you're with who believe
26:14
Speaker 8: the same way that you do, and you're working towards
26:16
Speaker 8: a common goal, which is you know, there is nothing
26:21
Speaker 8: better than being the ultimate sheep dog. And that's what
26:24
Speaker 8: police officers are. They are the sheep dog. And there
26:27
Speaker 8: are the people out there protecting others and protecting those
26:29
Speaker 8: who can't be protected or don't have the wherewithal to
26:33
Speaker 8: protect themselves. I try it, if you're even considering it,
26:38
Speaker 8: try it, because your mind is already in the right position,
26:41
Speaker 8: I believe.
26:41
Speaker 3: And there are I mean, as you said, law enforcement
26:45
Speaker 3: is multifaceted, and there are other if you have an
26:47
Speaker 3: interest in the field, but maybe you're not cut out
26:50
Speaker 3: to be a beat officer like you were there, I mean,
26:53
Speaker 3: there are there are other things you can do.
26:55
Speaker 8: There's so many things, and especially if you if you
26:57
Speaker 8: join a larger department. I mean you've got things things
27:00
Speaker 8: like the detective Bureau. You've got things like the Metro
27:04
Speaker 8: Drag unit. There's things like SWAT, there's traffic division, bike units.
27:10
Speaker 8: You know, Charleston, I was there when we had a
27:11
Speaker 8: mounted police, which was impressive to watch. But there's always
27:15
Speaker 8: something else that you can do with and you may
27:18
Speaker 8: bring something new to it. A police department is continuously
27:21
Speaker 8: evolving and things change. I was last night. I was
27:24
Speaker 8: talking to the chief of police at Charleston and talking
27:27
Speaker 8: about the how law enforcement has evolved over the years
27:31
Speaker 8: and things change. You know, we had amount of police
27:34
Speaker 8: now we don't we had. You know, there's things that
27:38
Speaker 8: they changed. They have community police. They now have some
27:40
Speaker 8: great units that are working downtown with the trying to
27:43
Speaker 8: address the homeless issues. So law enforcement is forever evolving,
27:48
Speaker 8: and it evolves with the world and with the way
27:50
Speaker 8: our country evolves.
27:51
Speaker 3: All right, Steve, it's been a pleasure to have you
27:54
Speaker 3: on the show today. Give us the details again on
27:56
Speaker 3: the on the event on Saturday. We kind of got
27:58
Speaker 3: off on a tent because I could I have so listen.
28:01
Speaker 3: I have so much respect for people in law enforcement.
28:03
Speaker 3: I mean, I really really do, especially over the last
28:08
Speaker 3: ten years or so, you know, because there's been there's
28:11
Speaker 3: been an all out war I think on police officers
28:15
Speaker 3: in America, and I think it sucks. And I when
28:20
Speaker 3: somebody came to me and said, Hey, would you have
28:21
Speaker 3: these folks on the show? I said absolutely. I have
28:23
Speaker 3: a lot of respect and thank you for your service.
28:24
Speaker 3: Thank you for what you and everyone that's served at
28:27
Speaker 3: the same time that.
28:28
Speaker 4: You did did.
28:29
Speaker 3: But let's talk about the actual event on Saturday.
28:32
Speaker 8: Get back to it, and thank you for those comments.
28:34
Speaker 8: But the show is Saturday, June seventh. It's from nine
28:37
Speaker 8: am to four pm. Registration is from nine am to
28:40
Speaker 8: twelve noon, and like I say, registration is fifteen dollars
28:45
Speaker 8: for a car, but the general admission is free to
28:48
Speaker 8: the public.
28:48
Speaker 4: Please come on down. We're going to have food trucks.
28:50
Speaker 8: We're going to have nice cars, nice people, you know,
28:54
Speaker 8: look at the property, look at the facilities, and if
28:56
Speaker 8: you want to support law enforcement, we'd love to have
28:59
Speaker 8: you there.
28:59
Speaker 3: Got a nice text here from former mayor Danny Jones,
29:03
Speaker 3: just listening to the show today.
29:05
Speaker 4: I know the mayor. I work for the mayor.
29:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, twenty four minutes away from ten Steve Netto.
29:11
Speaker 4: I appreciate you being here.
29:12
Speaker 3: Thanks, thank you, thanks a lot. All right, We're going
29:14
Speaker 3: to take a break when we come back. I think
29:16
Speaker 3: we were able to reschedule the donut lady. I think so. Hey,
29:20
Speaker 3: tomorrow's National Donut Day. So I'm gonna cut it a
29:22
Speaker 3: little bit of a slack, you know, for running that.
29:24
Speaker 3: We got the times mixed up. Plus we're gonna go
29:26
Speaker 3: back out talk about what's going on on our parking
29:28
Speaker 3: lot here with the Dropper Snacks event. We got, of course,
29:32

33:27
Speaker 3: day to us here.
33:29
Speaker 4: Calm down, Steve, So I've.
33:30
Speaker 3: Already got Steve animals already in the studio over here
33:32
Speaker 3: because the donuts are here to resortees from the Donut
33:35
Speaker 3: connections here.
33:35
Speaker 4: How you doing, Teresa, I'm doing great.
33:37
Speaker 14: How are you?
33:38
Speaker 4: I'm fine, And.
33:38
Speaker 3: We apologize for the mix up on the time, but
33:40
Speaker 3: we got you back here.
33:41
Speaker 4: That's what matters.
33:42
Speaker 14: No, I was up all night, so I got my
33:44
Speaker 14: numbers a little miss.
33:45
Speaker 3: I figured on the day before because originally when we
33:47
Speaker 3: had you come it in, I thought I thought it
33:50
Speaker 3: was gonna be a National Donut Day. But then I thought,
33:52
Speaker 3: what am I thinking? That this woman is going to
33:53
Speaker 3: be able to get away from the donut connection on
33:55
Speaker 3: National Donut Day which is tomorrow.
33:57
Speaker 4: So we're glad we got you here. Regardless, I'm great
33:59
Speaker 4: and thank you for bringing donuts to us.
34:01
Speaker 14: That's my pleasure.
34:02
Speaker 4: I mean they went kind of quickly.
34:04
Speaker 14: Well, you can always come on back. We got doortash,
34:06
Speaker 14: we got grub hubs, so it's a great opportunity.
34:08
Speaker 3: All right, give us You've got a very unique story
34:12
Speaker 3: because I had you on the air last year about
34:13
Speaker 3: how you how you came to Rob Real is over
34:17
Speaker 3: here like licking all the donuts.
34:18
Speaker 4: Right now, he's he's marking his eat all those Yeah. Uh,
34:22
Speaker 4: tell us, you tell us your story.
34:23
Speaker 14: So I I was homeschooled, did college class as well
34:28
Speaker 14: as in high school. Then I ended up finding an
34:31
Speaker 14: opportunity to move from Akron, Ohio to Charleston, West Virginia.
34:35
Speaker 14: There was a donut shop to buy. I was nineteen.
34:37
Speaker 3: I said, that's what gives me. You were nineteen years
34:40
Speaker 3: old and you see what online or something that there's
34:44
Speaker 3: a donut shop or it was.
34:46
Speaker 14: It was like a family connection when used to you're
34:49
Speaker 14: trying to sell a business, and I'd been saving up,
34:52
Speaker 14: so it seems like a great opportunity.
34:54
Speaker 3: And at nineteen you make the move into Charleston and
34:58
Speaker 3: you and you take over the Donut Connection. Now, the
35:01
Speaker 3: Donut Connection has got quite a cut of history as well, right,
35:03
Speaker 3: it's been there for a long time.
35:04
Speaker 14: Yeah, it's opened up in nineteen sixty I want to
35:07
Speaker 14: it is either sixty two or sixty five as Mister Donuts,
35:11
Speaker 14: and then it switched over to the Donut Connection in
35:15
Speaker 14: nineteen ninety five. So we have a long line of customers.
35:17
Speaker 14: You're like, I remember when over and over again.
35:21
Speaker 4: It's it's really, well, how has it been?
35:22
Speaker 3: Because I know you were you were one of the
35:23
Speaker 3: ones that really had issues with the traffic over there,
35:25
Speaker 3: and then the construction is it is it better now?
35:27
Speaker 14: It's it's been a little bit better. We're always struggling
35:30
Speaker 14: a little bit with just staffing. So if anybody's looking
35:32
Speaker 14: for a job, we're here.
35:35
Speaker 4: So what do you look for in an employee?
35:38
Speaker 14: I show up, Yes, show up, show up on time,
35:42
Speaker 14: work hard, and just just have a good time. Like
35:46
Speaker 14: I mean, it's not fun and games. It is a job.
35:48
Speaker 14: But if you if you're trying to make everybody miserable,
35:52
Speaker 14: we don't want you here.
35:53
Speaker 3: No, we don't watch you here either at the radio
35:55
Speaker 3: station exactly to resource teas for the donut connection is here.
35:59
Speaker 3: So what's the top selling donut? Tops glazed, just a
36:02
Speaker 3: simple blazed donut. What what's your personal favorite?
36:05
Speaker 14: My personal favorite it switches depending on I eat the
36:08
Speaker 14: same donut over and over again, get really sick of it,
36:10
Speaker 14: and then move on to the next one. So right
36:12
Speaker 14: now I'm liking the double chocolate and the Boston cream.
36:17
Speaker 14: Those are amazing.
36:18
Speaker 3: Okay, I'm I mean, I'll eat anything, okay, but but
36:23
Speaker 3: I can tell you that there's nothing I like more
36:26
Speaker 3: than just a blueberry cake donut.
36:28
Speaker 4: I mean, that's that.
36:30
Speaker 14: Was one of the ones that I went through. It
36:31
Speaker 14: was blueberry cake donuts with Coca Cola. Don't really like them.
36:35
Speaker 14: Separate but together something. They're amazing.
36:38
Speaker 3: We're gonna be talking about the snack drop here momentarily.
36:41
Speaker 3: And these guys, Steve Animal and Rob Real just came
36:44
Speaker 3: in here. By the way, guys, no eating in the
36:46
Speaker 3: studio of the studio.
36:48
Speaker 15: Yeah, well, well, I guess we've now christened it or drinking.
36:52
Speaker 15: I'm sure.
36:52
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's dyke.
36:54
Speaker 3: Cokie's drinking because it's not eleven amy, so it's only
36:56
Speaker 3: dyke as far as we know, Rob, what's your favorit?
37:00
Speaker 4: Donut?
37:02
Speaker 10: So many of the ones Teresa mentioned, I think maybe
37:04
Speaker 10: the Boston cream or the Bavarian cream is.
37:06
Speaker 15: The way to go. Yeah, I like the what do
37:10
Speaker 15: you call it? Like raspberry filled deli films?
37:12
Speaker 2: Those?
37:13
Speaker 4: Yeah, those are well.
37:14
Speaker 2: He likes to jell.
37:15
Speaker 4: How many different varieties of donuts do you have there,
37:18
Speaker 4: two hunters.
37:18
Speaker 14: I think we have about thirty two. It depends.
37:21
Speaker 3: I was gonna say, do you run a thirty two
37:23
Speaker 3: at a time or is it like you have twenty
37:24
Speaker 3: four different ones and you kind of rotate them in
37:26
Speaker 3: and out.
37:27
Speaker 14: I want to say we run thirty two donut flavors
37:29
Speaker 14: at a time, but we also have some additional specialty items.
37:33
Speaker 14: We have muffins and bagels and brownies. We've got breakfast sandwiches,
37:38
Speaker 14: which most people don't know, ice cream. So there's a
37:41
Speaker 14: lot offered and you're ours. We're open six am to
37:44
Speaker 14: nine pm unless we sell out.
37:45
Speaker 3: Okay, does that happen frequently that you sell it?
37:48
Speaker 14: It does happen every once in a while. We make
37:50
Speaker 14: all the donuts overnight. They're fresh in the morning, so
37:53
Speaker 14: as people buy them, sometimes a little hard to tell
37:56
Speaker 14: what we need one.
37:57
Speaker 3: What are you doing special for National Donut tomorrow?
38:00
Speaker 14: We're keeping it simple. So National Donut Day started as
38:03
Speaker 14: a just like a way to keep soldiers. It was
38:05
Speaker 14: to bring comfort to soldiers back in early nineteen hundreds,
38:10
Speaker 14: and people called donut lassies would just bring donuts to
38:15
Speaker 14: the soldiers and just something comfortable, something like donuts are
38:19
Speaker 14: the ultimate comfort food.
38:20
Speaker 4: That's the I would agree.
38:23
Speaker 14: So we're not we're not. We're not doing any games regiments.
38:26
Speaker 14: We're just doing very simple, fresh handmade donuts.
38:30
Speaker 3: And what I like about it locally owned, exact, locally owned,
38:33
Speaker 3: locally operated, and that's what we like.
38:35
Speaker 4: That's what we like.
38:36
Speaker 3: Hey, Teresa, I appreciate you coming in, appreciate you feeding
38:39
Speaker 3: this hungry group of jackals over here. Don't be surprised
38:43
Speaker 3: if they follow you back.
38:44
Speaker 14: I mean, I've got four brothers, so I know how to.
38:48
Speaker 4: I can tell you that.
38:49
Speaker 14: Oh no, there's a there's a fifteen year old who's
38:51
Speaker 14: six five and has never seen the end of a play,
38:54
Speaker 14: has seen to the ends of too many plates.
38:57
Speaker 3: I gotcha, all right, Teresa, or ties for the doughnut
38:59
Speaker 3: and National Donut Day is tomorrow. But go over there
39:02
Speaker 3: and hang out with those folks anytime. I appreciate you
39:04
Speaker 3: being here.
39:04
Speaker 4: Thanks a lot, Thank you so much.
39:05
Speaker 3: All right, all right we can we don't take the donuts,
39:09
Speaker 3: so now you can take the doctor because okay, all right.
39:14
Speaker 4: We'll lick them. Yeah again, Teresa, thank you, thank you
39:17
Speaker 4: for being here. All right.
39:18
Speaker 3: Snack drop is going on as we speak, rob Real
39:21
Speaker 3: from our sister station ninety six one KWSD Animal from
39:24
Speaker 3: ninety eight to seven to mouth and here as well.
39:26
Speaker 3: How are we doing so far, Roberts, I think that
39:29
Speaker 3: last look, we are half a truck full.
39:31
Speaker 10: From Union Mission, so we're off to.
39:33
Speaker 4: A great start.
39:34
Speaker 10: But seventy thousand kids are food insecure in West Virginia.
39:39
Speaker 10: That's one in five. One is one too many, but
39:42
Speaker 10: seventy thousand. So we got a ways to go to
39:45
Speaker 10: fill in some of these gaps in communities where they
39:48
Speaker 10: just they don't have the wherewithal to maybe have summer
39:52
Speaker 10: meal programs. So two thirds of West Virginia kids qualify
39:56
Speaker 10: for free or reduced lunch, and with school out there
39:58
Speaker 10: are a number of places where they they don't have
40:01
Speaker 10: an ancillary program that comes in to fill that gap.
40:04
Speaker 10: And so that's the big thing we're trying to do.
40:07
Speaker 15: And we've had a great showing out there. However, if
40:10
Speaker 15: you don't have time to shop, cash and check work
40:13
Speaker 15: very well. My friend Chris and Jean hooked us up
40:16
Speaker 15: today over one hundred dollars whatever you can get five
40:20
Speaker 15: dollars a dollar or whatever. Just drive on three. You
40:22
Speaker 15: don't even have to get out of your car. We
40:24
Speaker 15: will take it from your hands.
40:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, on a hot, steamy day like this, just keep
40:28
Speaker 3: your air conditioning blast and roll down the window long
40:30
Speaker 3: enough to slide, yeah, slide the cash through, or say, hey, monkeys,
40:34
Speaker 3: the snacks are in the back hatch. I'll pop it
40:37
Speaker 3: for you. I'll do the hard work. We're all out there.
40:40
Speaker 3: And a big shout out to the folks at Union
40:43
Speaker 3: Mission as well, because as I was telling the people earlier, Robin,
40:45
Speaker 3: you and I talked about this when you were on
40:47
Speaker 3: There's so many organizations that do events where they provide
40:50
Speaker 3: hot lunches, but they don't cover the entire state. God
40:53
Speaker 3: bless them for what they do, but they just can't
40:55
Speaker 3: cover everywhere. And Union Mission because of their networking, they
40:58
Speaker 3: can get to all of these air is that may
41:00
Speaker 3: not have groups like backpack Buddies and all this other stuff.
41:04
Speaker 10: And they know what the needs are in particular communities.
41:08
Speaker 10: Not only where the food needs to go, but you
41:11
Speaker 10: know what this organization or this school might still have
41:14
Speaker 10: on hand that Okay, we need to fill this gap
41:17
Speaker 10: with this, but over here they need this. It's one
41:20
Speaker 10: of the reasons I do encourage the cash and check
41:21
Speaker 10: donations because green is always the right color, it's always
41:24
Speaker 10: the right size, and Union Mission can utilize the power
41:27
Speaker 10: of buying in bulk with those monetary donations.
41:30
Speaker 4: All right, yeah, guys, I appreciate you being here. Rob.
41:34
Speaker 4: This was kind of your baby.
41:36
Speaker 3: Rob comes up with these ideas and says, hey, I've
41:38
Speaker 3: got an idea, and.
41:40
Speaker 4: Everybody in the meeting.
41:43
Speaker 3: He's thinking again that would explain the smell of bacon. Well,
41:46
Speaker 3: we're gonna have a lot more smells out on their
41:48
Speaker 3: parking lot today because it so it's gonna be a
41:51
Speaker 3: little warm out there. And also want to give a
41:53
Speaker 3: shout out to my buddy Brian Brennan, who would just
41:56
Speaker 3: text me last night and said, hey, I want to
41:58
Speaker 3: help out. He's not employed here, said I just want
42:01
Speaker 3: to I want to help out.
42:01
Speaker 4: So and uh and Wolfy.
42:03
Speaker 3: Brian Bradley has been out there as well, So a
42:04
Speaker 3: big shout out to him. Old friend, and hell, old friend.
42:08
Speaker 10: Every time Brian sees you, he's he's the happiest to say,
42:10
Speaker 10: hey Boddy.
42:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's been out there with us, and we're gonna
42:14
Speaker 3: be out there at six o'clock or so tonight. So
42:16
Speaker 3: thank you to everybody. And uh, Communicare, I want to
42:20
Speaker 3: get a big shout out to Communicare.
42:22
Speaker 4: Rob. You were on the air at that time.
42:24
Speaker 3: But Steve was able to put on Freebird or something
42:26
Speaker 3: I don't know and come downstairs and or he just
42:29
Speaker 3: had dead air because it's Steve. I mean it wasn't
42:32
Speaker 3: free Bird, it was low priced bird.
42:33
Speaker 4: Yeah.
42:34
Speaker 3: So he comes downstairs and we see this big truck
42:37
Speaker 3: pulling up and tell tell the story Steve downloaded.
42:40
Speaker 15: I mean she had toats and toats and toats and
42:42
Speaker 15: I'll just fill to the top and she's like, I'll
42:44
Speaker 15: be back. We have more coming later today.
42:46
Speaker 3: So we are tots grateful, yes, yes.
42:49
Speaker 15: And down percent for sure. And for some reason, if
42:52
Speaker 15: you can't make it to the parking lot by six
42:54
Speaker 15: o'clock tonight, I'm just gonna be down the street at
42:56

42:58

47:13
Speaker 4: Yea of all of them.
47:14
Speaker 3: I love, I love, I love, I love the Baseball Teram,
47:16
Speaker 3: but I really really do. Uh And you get to
47:18
Speaker 3: see when you come down here, you get to hang out,
47:20
Speaker 3: and you see what kind of a a strict ship
47:24
Speaker 3: I run here. As far as timing that age really.
47:27
Speaker 12: Let me tell you, folks, Dave Allen walks around this
47:30
Speaker 12: place and just says, hey, listen, we're going to do
47:32
Speaker 12: this at this time, and it happens.
47:33
Speaker 4: It's amazing.
47:34
Speaker 12: It's quite quite impressive.
47:36
Speaker 3: Well yeah, I don't know so much about that, but uh, anyway,
47:39
Speaker 3: but hey, but hey, we got donuts today, Yes you did.
47:42
Speaker 3: We got that's all for National Donut Day which is tomorrow.
47:45
Speaker 3: But uh oh, I like the preemptive celebration. Yeah, exactly,
47:48
Speaker 3: all right, talk about the USA Tournament. What are you
47:50
Speaker 3: looking at?
47:50
Speaker 2: What do you want to know?
47:51
Speaker 12: Class Single I gets things started here in about about
47:54
Speaker 12: five minutes. Things will get started over at gomart Ballpark. Madonna,
47:58
Speaker 12: weird a, Madonna take it on Webster County. Webster County
48:01
Speaker 12: coming in at five hundred on the season, got things
48:04
Speaker 12: rolling late coming out of that region. Madonna's been at
48:07
Speaker 12: the top of Class Single A all season long. So,
48:10
Speaker 12: I mean, if you were looking on paper, you'd go
48:12
Speaker 12: a blue down, should win this thing going away. But
48:14
Speaker 12: this is baseball A and B. It's the state tournament,
48:17
Speaker 12: so you never know what could happen. There were some
48:19
Speaker 12: good teams along the way. Fred and I talked about
48:21
Speaker 12: it a Metro News midday yesterday that we thought would
48:24
Speaker 12: be in Charleston that didn't make it out of the regional,
48:27
Speaker 12: so you never know. That's right later this afternoon class
48:30
Speaker 12: single A. Here's this is a more interesting matchup than
48:32
Speaker 12: people were giving a credit for Gilmour County back in
48:34
Speaker 12: the state tournament after I think you go back to
48:37
Speaker 12: twenty eleven since the last time the Titans have been there.
48:41
Speaker 12: But East Hardy comes in twelve and fifteen, eight regular
48:44
Speaker 12: season wins on the year, and you go, how in
48:46
Speaker 12: the world, right, how in the world's East Hardy get there?
48:49
Speaker 12: Had several players, I think four guys that were coming
48:52
Speaker 12: over from basketball, so they got there late. Five major
48:58
Speaker 12: injuries I think we counted in. A coach told me
49:00
Speaker 12: about five major injury starters who got hurt early in
49:03
Speaker 12: the season, didn't have them all year. Got those guys
49:07
Speaker 12: back late in the season. They're not all one hundred percent,
49:09
Speaker 12: but some of these guys, like Mason Hamilton, they'll take
49:12
Speaker 12: seventy five percent. He had a two run homer in
49:15
Speaker 12: the regional clincher. So they're back mostly healthy, and the
49:18
Speaker 12: team now they should have been all seasons. So don't
49:21
Speaker 12: let that record for you going into that game, Golmer
49:23
Speaker 12: County and East Hardy. That'll be the second game of
49:25
Speaker 12: the morning session, and of course you can.
49:27
Speaker 3: Catch all the action over the air or at the website.
49:30
Speaker 3: Will have updates. You and Chris and everybody will be
49:33
Speaker 3: over there. Fred, Kyle, Luke, Peter one personer this week, okay,
49:38
Speaker 3: and that's where we are your Wildcats tonight and Logan
49:41
Speaker 3: Philip Barber might be the game of the day. Yeah,
49:42
Speaker 3: I got my alma mater and the current city that
49:45
Speaker 3: I live in both at a hurricane and also.
49:47
Speaker 4: You'll be there, Logan, Yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
49:49
Speaker 3: And well you gotta leave Winfield outs and I'm getting
49:52
Speaker 3: I did because I don't live in Winfield. I live
49:53
Speaker 3: in a Hurricane. I was getting to Winfield and GW
49:56
Speaker 3: for that matter. All right, we'll be well, and of
49:58
