- 18:38Speaker 12: Great.
- 18:55Speaker 1: All right, have it alive again, I'll say, boy, doing webe?
- 19:00Speaker 15: You find yourself watching this from you on TikTok, YouTube,
- 19:05Speaker 15: fed book, Instagram, Twitter.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And all other streaming platforms. Well, family, it.
- 19:17Speaker 15: Happens again, and it's unfortunate that we see this consistently.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Happen over and over again, and so you've had another
- 19:31Speaker 1: man murdered and.
- 19:34Speaker 15: Police custody, you know, or well he was in prison.
- 19:40Speaker 15: So Robert Brooks was beat to death. Like I said,
- 19:43Speaker 15: this is worse than the Rodney King thing, because at
- 19:46Speaker 15: least Rodney King lived. When you see no one else
- 19:49Speaker 15: on any of these platforms, especially the white ones, are
- 19:54Speaker 15: talking about it because it doesn't fit any of their narrative.
- 19:57Speaker 15: They don't know what to admit the savagery that they could.
- 20:01Speaker 15: And this man was beat to death, and and I
- 20:07Speaker 15: was looking at earlier today, I didn't haven't seen anyone
- 20:09Speaker 15: being charged yet. So this is what we call white
- 20:12Speaker 15: privilege when white people say, well, what what what privilege
- 20:16Speaker 15: are you talking about?
- 20:17Speaker 1: The privilege to murder and not be god damned arrested
- 20:25Speaker 1: for blatant clearly defined murder. Now, the sound was off
- 20:33Speaker 1: because of course they were, you know, messing with their
- 20:39Speaker 1: body cans.
- 20:45Speaker 15: And I'm sure sending the footage and uh, the footage
- 20:48Speaker 15: is shocking, but we know it's black people.
- 20:51Speaker 1: This is what we get all the time.
- 20:53Speaker 15: And then were talking about we're supposed to be complaining,
- 20:58Speaker 15: We're supposed.
- 20:58Speaker 1: To be complaining when we talking about this.
- 21:00Speaker 15: Now, everybody, everybody, every other race has an anti hate bill,
- 21:04Speaker 15: but Us.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And most violence in this country has been put apros
- 21:09Speaker 1: us as a people. You know this is blatant facts.
- 21:14Speaker 1: No matter how you want to slice the dice.
- 21:21Speaker 15: There's an Asian that hate crime bill. There's one trying
- 21:24Speaker 15: to put some some thick ass anti Zionists, I mean
- 21:28Speaker 15: not anti anti Semitic bill.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Buy the Zionist You know what ever comes after, you
- 21:37Speaker 1: won't find no other race of people family.
- 21:40Speaker 15: You won't see it nowhere we have a group of
- 21:43Speaker 15: individuals in the prison system or police.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Beating someone to death.
- 21:48Speaker 15: I don't see the Asians getting beat to death. I
- 21:51Speaker 15: don't see any any Hispanics getting beat to death. I
- 21:55Speaker 15: don't see any East Indians getting beat to death. But
- 21:59Speaker 15: all can see black people get beat to death, especially
- 22:03Speaker 15: black men by a bunch of savages. There's never any
- 22:14Speaker 15: problem with that. But there's never been any legislation passed
- 22:18Speaker 15: where anti hate black bill or or anti black hate
- 22:25Speaker 15: bill ever. But most of the violence in this country
- 22:30Speaker 15: is perpetrated amongst on black people.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And that's a fact.
- 22:37Speaker 15: That's how rotten this country is. Like anybody wants to
- 22:40Speaker 15: play like they don't understand this. It's just it's beyond
- 22:44Speaker 15: their understanding that.
- 22:45Speaker 12: This is going on.
- 22:48Speaker 15: And what you mentioned, it is supposed to be uh
- 22:50Speaker 15: uh playing a victim. So was mister Robert Brooks playing
- 22:56Speaker 15: the victim when they were beating him to.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Death by his hands with handcuffing?
- 23:02Speaker 15: Was he playing the victim? I'm still waiting for the
- 23:05Speaker 15: bullage of any Asians getting beat to death like that,
- 23:11Speaker 15: any East Indians, any white people, any of his bands
- 23:16Speaker 15: or Latinos. Where is the footage of anybody besides black
- 23:21Speaker 15: people getting beat to death? Now I hold my breath
- 23:26Speaker 15: because it won't be You won't see it anywhere, not
- 23:28Speaker 15: in this country.
- 23:29Speaker 1: You won't. You won't find it and see it anywhere.
- 23:34Speaker 1: But they'll try to gas like you.
- 23:37Speaker 15: And so I say we're the ones that are most
- 23:40Speaker 15: violent when statistics and society doesn't show that whatsoever.
- 23:49Speaker 1: It doesn't show that whatsoever.
- 23:52Speaker 15: But that's what the media portrays and what the news
- 23:54Speaker 15: portrays that every time we see rob footage to somebody
- 23:59Speaker 15: being black men beat the death and this clear cut
- 24:03Speaker 15: and murder. But of course, once again the perpetrators have
- 24:09Speaker 15: been allowed to take the day off. You know, get
- 24:11Speaker 15: it's gonna be a full investigation what investigation needs to
- 24:14Speaker 15: be done.
- 24:15Speaker 1: It's right there in black and white. It's right there
- 24:17Speaker 1: the footage. It was murdering, clear cut. And the funny
- 24:23Speaker 1: part about it all.
- 24:24Speaker 15: These other people that are around it as they were
- 24:27Speaker 15: as they were facilitating this crime.
- 24:30Speaker 1: No one stepped in to stop these savages. No one.
- 24:35Speaker 15: So you got the nurse that was in the other
- 24:37Speaker 15: people around it was like fourteen people standing around as.
- 24:40Speaker 1: These three men beat this man to death. As they
- 24:46Speaker 1: beat this man, and that.
- 24:47Speaker 15: You haven't seen since savagery. But these are the white people.
- 24:54Speaker 15: Tell y'all trust the police, trust the law enforcement of
- 24:57Speaker 15: this always rare.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's rare. It's where that they got caught. I'm going
- 25:03Speaker 1: to reach some articles.
- 25:04Speaker 15: They said, this is normal practices that happens in prisons, right,
- 25:13Speaker 15: this is normal practices that happens in prisons.
- 25:18Speaker 1: But beating someone to death, yeah, I think that's something
- 25:21Speaker 1: kind of news and have it on buddage. Yeah, but
- 25:27Speaker 1: there is no anti.
- 25:30Speaker 15: Black hate crime bill. There is an anti agent. Where
- 25:34Speaker 15: are these Asians getting beat where in each other? They're like,
- 25:38Speaker 15: where's this happening at? Where's this nonsense happening at in
- 25:43Speaker 15: this country?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Tell me, show me I'm interested. I tell me I'm
- 25:50Speaker 1: asking for a friend. Someone let me know.
- 25:54Speaker 15: You guys want to call in the numbers eight five
- 25:56Speaker 15: zero three six eight nine one zero two the numbers
- 26:01Speaker 15: eight five zero three six eight nine one zero two
- 26:04Speaker 15: for free to call it.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I want to know what somebody thinks, because this whole
- 26:13Speaker 1: thing was sad and disgusting.
- 26:15Speaker 15: But we see it over and over again, and like
- 26:24Speaker 15: I said, this with white privilege, looks like you get
- 26:27Speaker 15: to murder someone, don't get arrested. They tell about some
- 26:30Speaker 15: big investigation. You've never seen in your life any black
- 26:38Speaker 15: officials beating white man that death on camera.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Ever in this country. But you've seen over and over
- 26:45Speaker 1: again with black people. But they tell you.
- 26:50Speaker 15: That if you say it, you're playing the victim car.
- 26:55Speaker 15: That's the nonsense that you you played the victim car.
- 26:57Speaker 15: How dare you mention our savagery?
- 27:00Speaker 1: How dare you do this? Who would have mentioned how
- 27:04Speaker 1: savage we are and how dubious?
- 27:07Speaker 8: Uh?
- 27:08Speaker 1: When we see there's a such thing called white privilege,
- 27:11Speaker 1: and it exists because I tell you right now.
- 27:15Speaker 15: These were black prison of Christians that be a white
- 27:18Speaker 15: man at death, they would have been arrested as soon
- 27:21Speaker 15: as the tape was released, and it would have been
- 27:23Speaker 15: released that night.
- 27:26Speaker 1: He had already seen him doing the perk walk. And
- 27:29Speaker 1: we know this, but we want to we all want
- 27:33Speaker 1: to play stupid, play crazy that the.
- 27:36Speaker 15: White privilege doesn't exist. It's imagined. Everything is in your mind.
- 27:42Speaker 15: You know, I've just seen nothing. You know, always take
- 27:44Speaker 15: out the right wing wack on channels. You know, they
- 27:48Speaker 15: ain't none uncovered, ain't none, and none of them cover
- 27:51Speaker 15: this story like it didn't happen.
- 27:53Speaker 1: They don't even want to touch it. Was going to
- 28:00Speaker 1: tell you back to bads and all this other nonsense.
- 28:05Speaker 15: Most police in America are criminal, most of the criminal,
- 28:11Speaker 15: and that's sad because the institution itself is rotten. The
- 28:16Speaker 15: culture itself is right, So you can't say there's a
- 28:19Speaker 15: few good apples.
- 28:20Speaker 1: A few good apples get turned bad because of the culture.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So even in supposedly uh.
- 28:30Speaker 15: Correctional officers, right, I'll tell me there's a few good ones. Okay,
- 28:35Speaker 15: I would have said there's always a few good ones
- 28:38Speaker 15: in any bunch. But the culture itself is out of
- 28:43Speaker 15: control because they had no fear in beating this man
- 28:47Speaker 15: to death, so they've obviously done this before.
- 28:52Speaker 1: They've done excuse me.
- 28:53Speaker 15: They've obviously done this before, maybe not murdered, but beating
- 29:03Speaker 15: someone on the the ins of the life.
- 29:05Speaker 1: They've done it before because there was too much of
- 29:08Speaker 1: the Norman everybody standing around. And the funny part about it,
- 29:12Speaker 1: no one was shocked.
- 29:14Speaker 15: Of this amount of savage treating, brutality to a man
- 29:18Speaker 15: who was completely not a threat to anybody.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Where was the threat? Who is he threat? How is
- 29:25Speaker 1: he a threat? How is anybody? Don't come back and
- 29:27Speaker 1: tell me your life was in danger. That's one of
- 29:29Speaker 1: the cons that they do. JUEDI. I felt like my
- 29:34Speaker 1: life was in danger while this.
- 29:36Speaker 15: Man's handcuffed with both hands behind his back.
- 29:42Speaker 1: So what's gonna be the fake excuse for beating this
- 29:48Speaker 1: man to death?
- 29:52Speaker 15: He had the right wing white gulls, the right wing
- 29:54Speaker 15: war you know, he was a criminal. Just the barber
- 29:57Speaker 15: beating him to des that's the Nazise, they'll tell you.
- 30:05Speaker 15: This managine had me right to his own humanity. I mean,
- 30:13Speaker 15: this was shocking on so many levels, but like I said,
- 30:19Speaker 15: the people around there, they wouldn't even shocked by it.
- 30:21Speaker 1: It was just the norm. No one had the humanity
- 30:25Speaker 1: to step in and stop anybody.
- 30:28Speaker 15: You imagine what kind of psychopaths you're dealing with where
- 30:31Speaker 15: no one takes the initiative to say, hey, you've gone
- 30:36Speaker 15: too far, that stop it.
- 30:39Speaker 1: You've already beat him enough, that stop it.
- 30:41Speaker 15: No one there's like fourteen or fifteen people, including the
- 30:48Speaker 15: three that were beating this.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Man to death.
- 30:55Speaker 15: No one had the common humanity to say, hey, we've
- 31:01Speaker 15: gone too farm.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Whatever he's done, this is unjustified.
- 31:08Speaker 15: This kind of brutality, this kind of sad beatree is unjustified.
- 31:13Speaker 15: So you imagine the cycle that the kind of psychopathy
- 31:18Speaker 15: you have in these certain circles.
- 31:23Speaker 1: And I told you that everybody knows this.
- 31:25Speaker 15: Now, when you get these positions and model portsement, they
- 31:29Speaker 15: want to make you have a low IQ.
- 31:34Speaker 1: You know, right wing he's always sell anybody's got low IQ's.
- 31:36Speaker 1: The police have low IQ's because they want them to
- 31:38Speaker 1: have low IQ's, to be able to.
- 31:40Speaker 15: Follow orders, to be able to kill and costs and
- 31:43Speaker 15: flick this kind of damage without any conscience, without anybody
- 31:50Speaker 15: around him to be disturbed.
- 31:52Speaker 1: But there was a nurse around there, so me thinking.
- 31:57Speaker 15: She would have to have a higher IQ and have
- 31:59Speaker 15: some kind of compassion because she's in the nursing field
- 32:03Speaker 15: where she wants to help.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And heal people. But obviously not he must have been.
- 32:08Speaker 15: Too black for her to one, uh, you perform her
- 32:12Speaker 15: hippocratic oath as a nurse.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Her hypocratic or her hyppocratic or oath.
- 32:20Speaker 15: Didn't go as far as his skin color. You know,
- 32:26Speaker 15: he stopped at the skin color. For her her old
- 32:29Speaker 15: to health and serve and heal, it stopped and his
- 32:33Speaker 15: skin color. See, this is a dirty little secret. No
- 32:36Speaker 15: one wants to make this just a fact because you
- 32:40Speaker 15: didn't feel no cute many for that man getting beat
- 32:43Speaker 15: to death. So the psychopathy within there, within that room.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Is on another level that most people can't eat fathom.
- 32:55Speaker 15: Most people can't eat fathom that kind of psychopathy that
- 32:58Speaker 15: she would sit by season her be beat to death,
- 33:01Speaker 15: and you wouldn't stepping as a human being, as a
- 33:06Speaker 15: fellow human being, you be moved to say stop, enough
- 33:11Speaker 15: is enoughing.
- 33:15Speaker 1: But of course they were all white.
- 33:17Speaker 15: They got all about white privilegs, so they're gonna find
- 33:20Speaker 15: somewhere to try to make sure that this thing is
- 33:23Speaker 15: so heinous, so obvious, so racist.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, white people, this is what you call racism.
- 33:34Speaker 1: You can't see that on your face, and you are
- 33:36Speaker 1: a moron. You try to defend this, You are a moron.
- 33:42Speaker 15: This is indefensible, This savage behavior is indepensible. But you're
- 33:50Speaker 15: known to defend the indefensible because I've already seen it.
- 33:56Speaker 15: Try and defend these savages and the criminal act of
- 34:02Speaker 15: being someone to get.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Holdo guys, let me secon Let me sit up this
- 34:11Speaker 1: videole quick, set up a couple of them. You mis sickond.
- 34:18Speaker 21: M m.
- 34:24Speaker 1: M m hmmm. Let me try give me a sick.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Let me let me sit this up. Guys, let me
- 34:52Speaker 1: set this up.
- 34:56Speaker 21: Oh guy, this morning, we're shining the spot light.
- 34:59Speaker 25: I mean that's going into the blue beating of a
- 35:03Speaker 25: handcuffed prison inmate and this was at the hands of
- 35:06Speaker 25: several corrections officers. New York's Attorney General's Office released this video,
- 35:11Speaker 25: and I do want to warn you this is very graphic.
- 35:15Speaker 25: The video shows three officers repeatedly punching, kicking, and stomping
- 35:20Speaker 25: on inmate Robert Brooks. This was at the Marsi Correctional Facility.
- 35:24Speaker 25: It's located in upstate New York. The incident happening on
- 35:28Speaker 25: December the ninth. Now, Brooks was lodged in the prison
- 35:31Speaker 25: serving time for assault, doing a twelve year sentence for
- 35:35Speaker 25: stabbing his girlfriend. Now he died from his injuries after
- 35:41Speaker 25: this incident. He succumbed to his injuries and passed away
- 35:45Speaker 25: the day after this incident happened. Now it's unclear what
- 35:49Speaker 25: sparked this being. Well, you know the books had just
- 35:53Speaker 25: arrived at the facility hours earlier.
- 35:56Speaker 21: We do know that.
- 35:57Speaker 25: We know the guards were wearing body cameras, but they
- 36:00Speaker 25: were on standby, so while they recording the images, there
- 36:03Speaker 25: is no audio with it. So if you see it,
- 36:06Speaker 25: it's interesting video.
- 36:07Speaker 21: That's all they have.
- 36:11Speaker 15: Now, this kind of being should get you to death penalty,
- 36:16Speaker 15: a murder, poor murder, an.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Eye for an eye, This kind of being should get
- 36:20Speaker 1: you to death pility. The people that stood around and
- 36:24Speaker 1: to get this man's humanity? Can you I just can't.
- 36:30Speaker 15: Can you imagine the level of psychopathy in these individuals
- 36:36Speaker 15: who will stand around and watch three individuals murder somebody
- 36:42Speaker 15: in front of you?
- 36:44Speaker 1: Can you imagine the mindset? Who are these people? What
- 36:52Speaker 1: kind of you man?
- 36:53Speaker 15: And these be the main ones to tell you about
- 36:56Speaker 15: this big ass Jesus Christ shit. These ones be taught
- 37:01Speaker 15: that big Jesus Christ to you ship to black people
- 37:05Speaker 15: even worshiping their big ass God, and they've always been
- 37:09Speaker 15: savage in brutal and stand around. They they need their religion,
- 37:16Speaker 15: not nothing to tell me. Someone should someone should stop this.
- 37:21Speaker 15: Someone show up uh inkling up humanity.
- 37:26Speaker 1: And say this is gone to the bar. I mean,
- 37:32Speaker 1: this is mind blowing.
- 37:34Speaker 20: Now.
- 37:35Speaker 25: The New York Attorney General's Office says it was important
- 37:37Speaker 25: to release the videos for the sake of transparency.
- 37:42Speaker 26: My team met with mister Brooks's family earlier this week
- 37:46Speaker 26: and they viewed the footage.
- 37:49Speaker 21: These videos are shock anker.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And look at her pappadass. These videos are shocky.
- 37:56Speaker 15: But they wanted to go up to Goopy Trump for
- 37:57Speaker 15: nothing because I was law beer the real crimes against
- 38:03Speaker 15: black people they take.
- 38:04Speaker 1: This is shocky. We're gonna investigate with an investigation.
- 38:08Speaker 13: It's right.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Then they should be charged and there for murder. The
- 38:10Speaker 1: man died as the cause of his injuries.
- 38:14Speaker 15: But you remember when they first wrote in the papers,
- 38:16Speaker 15: they tried to obfuscate it, but there was some how
- 38:19Speaker 15: he died from other causes besides beating beat the death
- 38:27Speaker 15: because that's called white privilege. They tried to obscate this
- 38:31Speaker 15: man's murder. I have something else called them when they
- 38:37Speaker 15: finally took him to get medical.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Treatment for beating being beat to death, he would have
- 38:42Speaker 1: died there, but that would have been too bad.
- 38:45Speaker 15: So let's get him to the hospital, and they have
- 38:47Speaker 15: died in the hospital, and then try to obscate his death,
- 38:51Speaker 15: his injuries.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Oh, we don't know what happened. We you know, we
- 38:54Speaker 1: got him to the hospital. We beat the shit out
- 38:56Speaker 1: of him, but he didn't die on allawak that the hospital.
- 39:01Speaker 15: So it possibly because something else, possibly be something that
- 39:05Speaker 15: may be he committed suicide.
- 39:08Speaker 1: You know, some kind of nonsense they'll come up with,
- 39:13Speaker 1: right ARABNK.
- 39:18Speaker 26: And I advise all to take appropriate care before choosing
- 39:21Speaker 26: to watch them.
- 39:23Speaker 15: Now.
- 39:24Speaker 25: The Attorney General has also appointed a special prosecutor to
- 39:27Speaker 25: oversee the case to avoid a conflict of interest.
- 39:30Speaker 21: New York's governor.
- 39:31Speaker 25: Has also ordered state officials to initiate proceedings to fire
- 39:35Speaker 25: thirteen corrections officers, as well as a nurse or aren't
- 39:39Speaker 25: implicated it fire?
- 39:40Speaker 15: What do you mean, bib and the nurse they're supposed
- 39:43Speaker 15: to be charges prod. It's abody gonna buyer see just
- 39:46Speaker 15: started Wright privilege.
- 39:48Speaker 1: The world. White people just started. Right privilege.
- 39:51Speaker 15: You are accessible to this crime because you were there.
- 39:55Speaker 15: Why a man you allowed it to continue? He's called
- 40:00Speaker 15: all in laws.
- 40:01Speaker 1: When black people do something, they say, everybody is guilty.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Now you're not getting fired. You're supposed to be prosecuted.
- 40:10Speaker 1: The bullishtit of the law.
- 40:14Speaker 15: Maybe you shouldn't get murdered the first degree with your
- 40:16Speaker 15: damn sures to get murdered the second third degree because
- 40:19Speaker 15: you are complicit in this man's murder. You were complicit
- 40:23Speaker 15: in it. So you were there, why what's happening happening?
- 40:26Speaker 15: Didn't do anything to stop it, So you are complicit
- 40:30Speaker 15: in the murder. So every last one of them should
- 40:35Speaker 15: be charged with murder. And that's just the fact, because
- 40:40Speaker 15: you know, if they were black or somebody black.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Be a white man, the death of camera, everybody black
- 40:47Speaker 1: in there would be an accessory the murder. This is
- 40:51Speaker 1: called white privilege.
- 40:53Speaker 15: Okay, that you say, he doesn't exist this with this call,
- 40:57Speaker 15: that's why we haven't been arrested yet. This white pribles
- 41:01Speaker 15: that you've seen and don't understand and the oppositet I.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Don't know with white privilege, jees, I have no clue
- 41:07Speaker 1: I don't understand. Well, I'm helping you right now. Understand it.
- 41:13Speaker 21: That incident.
- 41:14Speaker 25: One officer has already resigned and criminal charges are expected
- 41:19Speaker 25: to be forthcoming. I have two great guests to help
- 41:21Speaker 25: me break this all down. I want to welcome back
- 41:23Speaker 25: in the chief.
- 41:24Speaker 21: Of police at Talladega College.
- 41:25Speaker 25: He's retired homicide detective and TV star Chris Anderson. And
- 41:29Speaker 25: want to welcome in corrections officer and the former president
- 41:32Speaker 25: of the New York City Corrections Officers Union, Elias Houssemantine.
- 41:37Speaker 21: Good morning to you, gentlemen.
- 41:39Speaker 25: Let's start with your reactions, initial reactions to seeing this
- 41:45Speaker 25: video and the questions that you have in your minds.
- 41:49Speaker 21: Chief Anderson, would you start us.
- 41:51Speaker 27: Off please, Yeah, So watching the videos was extremely horrific.
- 42:00Speaker 1: See, uh, this is.
- 42:02Speaker 17: Yet another stand on not only corrections, but law enforcement
- 42:06Speaker 17: as a whole.
- 42:07Speaker 1: You know, we are there to protect and serve the.
- 42:09Speaker 27: People, even if you've been jailed inside of a prison
- 42:13Speaker 27: that was the should have been someone there to protect
- 42:16Speaker 27: this man, even if it was protecting him against his
- 42:18Speaker 27: own coworkers.
- 42:19Speaker 1: And that does not appear that that happened. And another
- 42:24Speaker 1: thing that I see.
- 42:25Speaker 15: It couldn't have done nothing to cause this kind of treatment,
- 42:32Speaker 15: because remember that that he was just transferred, He just
- 42:35Speaker 15: arrived to that prison, so there was no ill will
- 42:38Speaker 15: between him and the other guards must have said something
- 42:42Speaker 15: flip it that they didn't like it. Ain't feel they
- 42:45Speaker 15: were going to be savag he's a murder man and
- 42:51Speaker 15: they got the whole talk about fire. No, everybody who
- 42:55Speaker 15: witnessed this and didn't do anything should be brought up
- 42:58Speaker 15: on murder charges periods.
- 43:06Speaker 17: It's extremely hard to watch. It's bad, and it just
- 43:10Speaker 17: yet another stain on my profession.
- 43:13Speaker 21: It is hard to watch.
- 43:14Speaker 25: It really is your right, Chief Elie, let me go
- 43:17Speaker 25: to you for initial reactions, and then I want to
- 43:20Speaker 25: walk through the various parts of the video with both
- 43:22Speaker 25: of you. So your initial impressions upon seeing this, please, Well.
- 43:27Speaker 5: My initial impression is the same as Chief, when you
- 43:32Speaker 5: see something like this and your law enforcement also your
- 43:35Speaker 5: correction officers, you're looking at it and you're saying to yourself,
- 43:41Speaker 5: oh my god, no, because it's hard to convince people
- 43:46Speaker 5: that this is not something that correction officers or law
- 43:51Speaker 5: enforcement officers involve themselves in. I mean, we actually witness
- 43:55Speaker 5: or watch a murder, you know, an assassination of an
- 44:00Speaker 5: individual who was already doing time for the crime that
- 44:04Speaker 5: he committed.
- 44:06Speaker 21: Excellent points there, Elias, Thank you for that.
- 44:11Speaker 25: I want to walk through the various portions of the
- 44:13Speaker 25: video and really kind of zone in on certain moments
- 44:17Speaker 25: that to me seemed pivotal. If I was a prosecutor
- 44:21Speaker 25: on this case reviewing it, I would be looking at
- 44:22Speaker 25: these things. Initially, the first part of this it all begins,
- 44:26Speaker 25: is we see one of the guards seeming to it.
- 44:29Speaker 21: Looks like cause I was putting a towel in works
- 44:33Speaker 21: his mouth, it looks that way. And then watch his
- 44:37Speaker 21: right hand.
- 44:37Speaker 25: He pulls his right hand away very quickly and then
- 44:40Speaker 25: starts punching him.
- 44:43Speaker 21: And I can't help but wonder it was there biting
- 44:50Speaker 21: that happened. I have no idea.
- 44:52Speaker 25: I wasn't there, but watching it, I'm thinking, oh, it
- 44:55Speaker 25: looked like he put his hand back.
- 44:57Speaker 21: I'm curious what you both are are seeing there.
- 45:00Speaker 15: And understand, this didn't just start with this with this man.
- 45:02Speaker 15: This has been their normal behavior. These savages have been
- 45:06Speaker 15: doing this and it had been getting caught. The trols
- 45:14Speaker 15: you want the most low I individuals in law enforcement.
- 45:18Speaker 15: It's how they keep a control of them. And to
- 45:21Speaker 15: control the masses with brutality. They've been a brutal system.
- 45:28Speaker 15: And I would tell O this and good ones this one.
- 45:31Speaker 15: There are no good ones okay, because the culture is bad.
- 45:39Speaker 15: So the good ones get weeded out. Whatever good ones
- 45:43Speaker 15: are there, they always get weed out because the culture,
- 45:48Speaker 15: it's terrible. The culture is corrupt.
- 45:53Speaker 1: That's why you see everybody standing around and no one
- 45:56Speaker 1: stepped in the fact there's you.
- 46:00Speaker 15: Humanity was being compromised, and they would step in and
- 46:03Speaker 15: do anything.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Because you didn't have it. You have a you'd have
- 46:08Speaker 1: a humane one in the bunch. You'd have a humane
- 46:13Speaker 1: one in the bunch. So that's what happened.
- 46:18Speaker 15: Because the culture, if we have all these white wing
- 46:22Speaker 15: whack holes, left wing.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Whack oh if you can't but the police, the police
- 46:26Speaker 1: predict all that bullshit.
- 46:28Speaker 15: The cultures are written from top to bottom. And they
- 46:32Speaker 15: know that, but they need that for their protection their savagery.
- 46:37Speaker 1: In humane police culture is written from top to bottom.
- 46:48Speaker 15: That's why you see no one step in to alleviate
- 46:52Speaker 15: this man's pain and say, hey enough, okay, well that
- 46:55Speaker 15: we did, you've already done too much.
- 46:57Speaker 1: That stop gone before God to bar. No no one
- 47:01Speaker 1: was willing to step in because.
- 47:03Speaker 15: The culture is corrupt. The culture is rotten, and then
- 47:11Speaker 15: we want to gas like us and act like it's not.
- 47:15Speaker 1: It clearly shows that it is because there was.
- 47:17Speaker 15: Fourteen people around watching this man get beat to depth,
- 47:22Speaker 15: and no one did a damn thing.
- 47:25Speaker 1: No one stepped in, No one felt it was their
- 47:27Speaker 1: responsibility saying hey that stop this. It's god you bar.
- 47:35Speaker 10: No one.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Because the culture is corrupt. The culture is rotten to
- 47:40Speaker 1: its core.
- 47:41Speaker 15: That's why, and that's why it announced springing the action
- 47:46Speaker 15: as case just told you to try to defus these
- 47:48Speaker 15: can corrupt as bastards. They've all be accused themselves from
- 47:53Speaker 15: prosecuting them, so they can defend these murderers.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Can't you imagine that?
- 48:00Speaker 15: Then they are recusing themselves by prosecuting them because they're
- 48:06Speaker 15: going to defend them because the system, the system itself
- 48:11Speaker 15: is corrupt from top to bottom.
- 48:16Speaker 1: System of self is.
- 48:17Speaker 21: Cow up and top to bottom, a chief to you.
- 48:22Speaker 17: So my first thought is that was probably uh spitty
- 48:26Speaker 17: by the defendant or the suspect in this case, and
- 48:29Speaker 17: that's usually what would happen if a person is in custody.
- 48:33Speaker 17: They're trying to do something to stop the spitting. You
- 48:36Speaker 17: know that there are plenty of mechanisms that you can
- 48:39Speaker 17: utilize now in law enforcement. We used to have a
- 48:42Speaker 17: spit bag, but that you can put over a person's
- 48:44Speaker 17: face that would allow for whatever they will project out,
- 48:48Speaker 17: like out of their mouths, not to get on anyone else's.
- 48:51Speaker 13: But this doesn't.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Add anything to put over anyone's head.
- 48:58Speaker 25: Sure, now, I appreciate that that was why they were
- 49:00Speaker 25: trying to put the towel in his mouth. I would
- 49:02Speaker 25: look at the next clip. One of the guards is
- 49:04Speaker 25: lifting his leg. It seems to restrain him. Elias, what
- 49:08Speaker 25: do you see?
- 49:10Speaker 8: What is this?
- 49:11Speaker 21: What have we seen here?
- 49:13Speaker 1: If you have a seven damn damn commercial?
- 49:21Speaker 21: What are we seeing here?
- 49:24Speaker 1: You see how correct the system is with everybody standing
- 49:27Speaker 1: around watching.
- 49:28Speaker 15: Him beat this man to death and not do anything,
- 49:32Speaker 15: not do anything but watch. So you know we're gonna
- 49:38Speaker 15: be sad.
- 49:38Speaker 1: He just come White privilege, gay, We don't know what
- 49:42Speaker 1: white privilege is.
- 49:44Speaker 4: This is it.
- 49:46Speaker 1: This is what it looks like. Okay, this is it.
- 49:50Speaker 15: There's no videos nowhere in America of black officials beating
- 49:56Speaker 15: a white man to death.
- 49:58Speaker 12: They don't exist.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Because, unlike white men, the black men know they don't.
- 50:05Speaker 1: They do not have privilege, and they'll be.
- 50:08Speaker 15: Locked up if they actually practice this kind of behavior.
- 50:12Speaker 15: They know they'll be locked up and prosecuted to the
- 50:16Speaker 15: bullet stent of the law.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Black men and law enforcement know.
- 50:19Speaker 15: That they know they can't behave this way because they
- 50:22Speaker 15: don't have white privilege. So when you moreize get to
- 50:26Speaker 15: ask it what white privilege is, that's what it is. Okay,
- 50:32Speaker 15: and play stupid if you want to and get stupid tricks.
- 50:38Speaker 15: This what white privilege is.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 50:41Speaker 8: There are no.
- 50:41Speaker 15: Video takes nowhere ever of any black men beating white
- 50:46Speaker 15: men to death in their custody.
- 50:49Speaker 1: That doesn't exist.
- 50:50Speaker 15: You know why, because they know they don't got white
- 50:53Speaker 15: privilege and they know they'll be prosecuted to the bullish
- 50:57Speaker 15: stent of the law.
- 50:58Speaker 1: That's why you've never seen it.
- 51:00Speaker 15: H So when you get to talking crazy to me,
- 51:04Speaker 15: you don't understand what my privilege is, I'm spelled it
- 51:08Speaker 15: out to you.
- 51:09Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 51:14Speaker 5: This, like I said earlier, this this we witnessed the
- 51:19Speaker 5: murder and the other thing. In addition to what the
- 51:23Speaker 5: Chief said as far as sticking the Toddler right, also
- 51:28Speaker 5: might have to do with keeping him from hollering and screaming.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Uh and and and and uh that.
- 51:35Speaker 5: But what we're witnessing with the foot, the choking, the dragging,
- 51:40Speaker 5: the kicking, and the testicles, we're witnessing a.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Brutal, brutal murder.
- 51:47Speaker 5: And it appears that this is not something that's uncommon
- 51:52Speaker 5: to these guys.
- 51:53Speaker 1: I'm just exactly what I was saying. This is not uncommon.
- 51:57Speaker 15: It's got to even go as far as killed him.
- 51:59Speaker 15: But this is no this is normal, this normal savage behavior.
- 52:03Speaker 1: This is normal. This is not uncommon, this kind of
- 52:10Speaker 1: savage brutality.
- 52:13Speaker 5: Shot that in twenty twenty four, now twenty twenty five,
- 52:17Speaker 5: that there are more cameras in this facility, in this correction,
- 52:21Speaker 5: in any correction facility at this particular time in American history.
- 52:26Speaker 1: And like right as I don't we have over ten.
- 52:29Speaker 1: You know, it's not a lot of cameras because a
- 52:31Speaker 1: lot of men, a lot of white men, get these positions.
- 52:33Speaker 1: They don't want to go back to remember those jobs
- 52:35Speaker 1: went to them, and what they went down? What happened?
- 52:40Speaker 1: Oh then Chip Chuck went off. Happened? See those positions
- 52:45Speaker 1: go to them, what happened? Now, it's so stupid come on, you.
- 52:57Speaker 15: Might get in ahead, everything goes off, it's might get
- 52:59Speaker 15: it back on, but uh love my trying though.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Damn thing went down and the second seconds they to
- 53:11Speaker 1: it back up. I loved one damn trying to thought.
- 53:15Speaker 15: Oh yeah, there's not a lot of there's not a
- 53:19Speaker 15: lot of cameras because there's white men in there. They
- 53:21Speaker 15: need those jobs because anyone with the low i Q
- 53:24Speaker 15: and can't get the positions.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Yeah, other positions, so they don't want to while they
- 53:32Speaker 1: a lot of go back on getting with them while
- 53:34Speaker 1: they're brutalizing people. Mhm.
- 53:39Speaker 5: Because this is something they've been doing thousand cameras and
- 53:43Speaker 5: that's not even talking about body cameras. Like I was
- 53:46Speaker 5: the president who actually initially demanded body cameras for my members.
- 53:52Speaker 5: It didn't go overwhelmed with a lot of them, but
- 53:55Speaker 5: initially is something that would save them and the people
- 53:58Speaker 5: that they're in charged with protecting.
- 54:00Speaker 21: That's a great point in Liasid.
- 54:02Speaker 25: Just to follow up on that point for you, We
- 54:04Speaker 25: understand that some of the corrections officers didn't turn their
- 54:07Speaker 25: cameras on.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Your answered to that they didn't turn them on because
- 54:13Speaker 1: they knew exactly what they were wanting to do.
- 54:16Speaker 5: And I guess before who did turn it on, whether
- 54:19Speaker 5: paying attention or turned it on by mistake. But the
- 54:24Speaker 5: reality is thank God for the body camera because there's
- 54:28Speaker 5: no telling whether or not they would have.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Gotten away with this.
- 54:32Speaker 5: And this is not something that any law enforcement officer,
- 54:36Speaker 5: any correction officer who's.
- 54:38Speaker 13: Charged with upholding and enforcing.
- 54:40Speaker 1: The law, wants to see.
- 54:43Speaker 5: There's no one, there's no union, there's no one who
- 54:46Speaker 5: can justify what we're looking at.
- 54:49Speaker 1: And it's very personal to me because I've been.
- 54:52Speaker 5: A correction officer for thirty four years and I had
- 54:56Speaker 5: siblings and family members who were on the other side
- 55:00Speaker 5: of the other side of the bars, and I would
- 55:02Speaker 5: hate to think that one of them would be whipped
- 55:06Speaker 5: or beat like this.
- 55:07Speaker 25: Right right, Elias, We have a statement from the correction
- 55:10Speaker 25: officers of Benevolent Association saying this incident is completely contrary
- 55:14Speaker 25: to the values that we hold dear and the oath
- 55:16Speaker 25: we take as corrections officers to provide care, custody and
- 55:20Speaker 25: control on behalf of everyone in our facilities.
- 55:23Speaker 21: And in that last video we saw him being carried out, and.
- 55:26Speaker 25: We know that the coroner ruled the cause of death
- 55:29Speaker 25: is phixire due to compression of the neck. Last question
- 55:34Speaker 25: to you, please, Chief chrisy Anderson, do you think that
- 55:36Speaker 25: we're going to see some homicide.
- 55:38Speaker 21: Charges found against some of these officers.
- 55:45Speaker 17: I would have hoped, so, I'm and I'll judge him
- 55:48Speaker 17: by this video because there's nothing. There is absolutely nothing
- 55:53Speaker 17: you could show me, say to me, or tell me
- 55:56Speaker 17: that justifies what happened to this victim. And this is
- 55:59Speaker 17: the failure not only of the officers that are involved.
- 56:03Speaker 15: They say, you would hope so him being black, these
- 56:05Speaker 15: are two black men, they know, they know white privilege.
- 56:08Speaker 1: White say, I would hope, so, I would hope they
- 56:10Speaker 1: would get charged.
- 56:12Speaker 15: But this is America, and there was a white man
- 56:14Speaker 15: beaten and murdering someone on camera, and it doesn't turn
- 56:18Speaker 15: out most of the time that they'll get charged even
- 56:20Speaker 15: when it's on camera because it's.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Called my privilege and we know this is murder. But
- 56:27Speaker 1: we live in the racist United States of America, and
- 56:31Speaker 1: that's just the history of things. This is what happens.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I said, I'm hoping, I'm hoping it would happen. I'm hoping.
- 56:42Speaker 15: Rogue the hope and there was justice in this country
- 56:45Speaker 15: where we no needs for hope. Hope is for children.
- 56:53Speaker 15: Justice is supposed to be for adults. But we know
- 56:56Speaker 15: this has always been in just system. We know that
- 57:02Speaker 15: that's why he's hoping that. Well, I'm just the hope.
- 57:06Speaker 15: Maybe see three men beating someone to death that they're
- 57:11Speaker 15: gonna be charged with murder. Why don't you have to hope?
- 57:15Speaker 15: You know why we have to hope because they're white
- 57:18Speaker 15: and it's kind of white privilege. That's why you have
- 57:20Speaker 15: to hope. That why you have to hope them. They
- 57:24Speaker 15: just bet vote culture.
- 57:25Speaker 1: It's a bout culture, a boteness, all that bullshit they
- 57:29Speaker 1: be saying.
- 57:33Speaker 17: But of supervisors, because as I'm looking at this video,
- 57:36Speaker 17: I am noticed I see several senior officers and several
- 57:41Speaker 17: supervisors that are there watching this.
- 57:44Speaker 1: So yes, you should see a lot of uh charges
- 57:48Speaker 1: being fired. In fact, the other people standing by watching
- 57:50Speaker 1: it exactly. Carol went down again.
- 57:53Speaker 17: Ship, I'm against officers and a lot of people that
- 57:58Speaker 17: supervisor positions that are.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Are released at the very minimum that are released relieve
- 58:04Speaker 1: the duty.
- 58:05Speaker 25: Such sharp analysis from you both, as always, Chief Chris Anderson,
- 58:09Speaker 25: Elias Husseman Den, thank you both so much for your
- 58:13Speaker 25: time and expertise.
- 58:14Speaker 1: This morning. We'll see you soon. Sts on you in
- 58:18Speaker 1: your book. Yeah, look at this.
- 58:20Speaker 9: I'm giving this book away this Sunday for free.
- 58:23Speaker 1: This is ten hundred figure exercises. It will save you
- 58:25Speaker 1: years if you're trying to learn and then want you.
- 58:32Speaker 15: Better get your commercial quick as hell. I was giveing
- 58:35Speaker 15: a segment to go. Put this camera back.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Doesn't give miss a second?
- 58:56Speaker 3: H h h h.
- 59:24Speaker 8: M hm hm.
- 59:43Speaker 1: They can't about that.
- 59:47Speaker 13: M hm.
- 59:51Speaker 28: Being coverage tonight News to NBC investigative reporter Jen Feluki
- 59:55Speaker 28: joins us.
- 59:55Speaker 29: Now Engine, a number of local faith leaders are calling
- 59:59Speaker 29: for full accountability for all thirteen corrections officers and a
- 1:00:03Speaker 29: nurse over involved in that's right.
- 1:00:05Speaker 21: Yeah, Dana brought.
- 1:00:06Speaker 28: The criminal investigation continues into Robert Brooks's beating and death.
- 1:00:11Speaker 28: The FBI announced today it too is looking into the
- 1:00:14Speaker 28: situation to see whether any.
- 1:00:15Speaker 21: Federal charges are warranted. Well, all of that happens.
- 1:00:19Speaker 28: Robert Brooks was laid to rest here in Rochester this weekend.
- 1:00:23Speaker 28: Among those mourning his death a local mother who knows
- 1:00:26Speaker 28: a very similar pain to what the Brooks family is
- 1:00:29Speaker 28: feeling right now.
- 1:00:31Speaker 21: I live Tory Johnson has.
- 1:00:34Speaker 28: Spent most of her life trying to build up families
- 1:00:37Speaker 28: and make streets safer.
- 1:00:38Speaker 21: She says she was horrified watching the video.
- 1:00:42Speaker 15: He says an NBI thing, MBA civil rights. But nbhad
- 1:00:45Speaker 15: any laws that said anti black hate crime, then you'd
- 1:00:52Speaker 15: be charged from under that. That's why they never wanted
- 1:00:54Speaker 15: to put that. Remember you had Kepel Harris and Joe
- 1:00:58Speaker 15: Biden said they were going to put that through four
- 1:01:00Speaker 15: years ago, five years ago.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Now it's twenty twenty five, twenty twenty. They said, they
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: told you that that damn scamp. While they put camera
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: come back up, Yeah, I got plea boom. While they
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: put anti age hate crime bills.
- 1:01:22Speaker 15: Then they're trying to push another one another, anti semi
- 1:01:25Speaker 15: h anti Semitic bill.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: Where are they beaten Jews? The Death Act? Where's this
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: happening at? Where there being? As is the death that?
- 1:01:34Speaker 15: He said, where is this happening at? Somebody show me
- 1:01:37Speaker 15: where's this happening?
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: I just one another.
- 1:01:42Speaker 15: May yeah, but anti uh black bill, anti hate black bill,
- 1:01:49Speaker 15: then you could charge him.
- 1:01:50Speaker 13: What's that?
- 1:01:51Speaker 15: Because it's definitely what this is. This is racism, plain
- 1:01:57Speaker 15: and simple. And that's why I know one stepped in
- 1:01:59Speaker 15: to stop because they bother stand around with brutal savages
- 1:02:03Speaker 15: as well. They would devoid of any kind of humanity
- 1:02:08Speaker 15: in treating him with any kind of humanity.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Marcy.
- 1:02:14Speaker 30: And when I saw it, girl girl, I think shop
- 1:02:19Speaker 30: it shipped my sorry, it shook my story for him
- 1:02:24Speaker 30: for what torment would torture, how they terrorialized him.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: I can only imagine the horror he suffered before he died.
- 1:02:33Speaker 28: Now all she can think about is Robert Brooks, his mother.
- 1:02:37Speaker 28: You see when Tory Johnson is a mother too, and
- 1:02:40Speaker 28: she too watched her son die on video. He was
- 1:02:44Speaker 28: murdered in the mass shooting outside of the Boys and
- 1:02:46Speaker 28: Girls Club in twenty fifteen.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: People that are in these prison systems are still human beings.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Exactly. I have at least one of the.
- 1:02:54Speaker 20: Perpetrators who are serving time for the Boys and Girl
- 1:02:58Speaker 20: Club incident. I would not have felt any different had
- 1:03:03Speaker 20: I looked at that video.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: And saw it was him.
- 1:03:07Speaker 20: I want him to serve at the time that he's
- 1:03:09Speaker 20: supposed to serve for the power he played in the
- 1:03:12Speaker 20: death of my child.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: But in the same vein, I would never have won it.
- 1:03:18Speaker 20: That type of brutality needed out to him or bought
- 1:03:23Speaker 20: upon him, because after all, he.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Belongs to someone loves him.
- 1:03:28Speaker 28: Laori is part of a group of pastors pushing for
- 1:03:30Speaker 28: prison reforms in the wake.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Of Robert Brooks's death.
- 1:03:34Speaker 28: She says the video, while excruciating to watch, is key
- 1:03:37Speaker 28: to systemic change.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: From his parency, this is something none of us should
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: turn our back.
- 1:03:44Speaker 28: Some and the wheels are in motion already for some
- 1:03:50Speaker 28: of that systemic change. The Governor was at Marcie Correctional
- 1:03:54Speaker 28: Facility today and we have learned she has appointed a
- 1:03:57Speaker 28: new superintendent to take over.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: His name is Benny.
- 1:04:00Speaker 28: Thorpe, and while he's spent more than twenty years working
- 1:04:03Speaker 28: in corrections, he has never worked at Marcy, and she
- 1:04:07Speaker 28: says he'll bring.
- 1:04:07Speaker 21: A fresh perspective on what must be done.
- 1:04:10Speaker 28: In addition to that, she is expediting four hundred million
- 1:04:13Speaker 28: dollars in funding to install fixed cameras and to make
- 1:04:18Speaker 28: sure that every corrections officer has a body worn camera
- 1:04:22Speaker 28: and that it is activated every time they are in
- 1:04:25Speaker 28: contact with an inmate. She's also demanding an outside firm
- 1:04:29Speaker 28: conduct a full review of the culture, patterns and practices
- 1:04:34Speaker 28: not only at Marcy, but at all.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Youur I know the culture, then youurin know the coature
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: does can'll take you know the culture? Do you erea
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: know what the culture is?
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: Never?
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: We know it.
- 1:04:47Speaker 21: All state prisons.
- 1:04:49Speaker 28: The Attorney General, who is conducting the criminal investigation into
- 1:04:52Speaker 28: this incident has not given a timetable on when she
- 1:04:55Speaker 28: will determine what, if any criminal charges the officer, all
- 1:04:59Speaker 28: the officers, and the nurse will face Dana.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Oh my god, I am what
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: you call.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Hey.
- 1:05:12Speaker 15: Once you get out of commercials, once you let me
- 1:05:18Speaker 15: get out of that quick, trying to get the damn
- 1:05:40Speaker 15: video out of this damn.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Comic correction officers detaining.
- 1:05:45Speaker 31: There is growing outrage today over the death of an
- 1:05:48Speaker 31: inmate in a New York State prison who is brutally
- 1:05:50Speaker 31: beaten by more than a dozen correction officers. Detaining advocates
- 1:05:54Speaker 31: are concerned it's part of a larger culture of violence
- 1:05:57Speaker 31: within the state's correctional system. Whereber and Lopez has our
- 1:06:01Speaker 31: look and a warning to our viewers. The video, which
- 1:06:03Speaker 31: we will show only in part, is very disturbed.
- 1:06:09Speaker 29: Bodycam footage repeatedly kicked, punched, and choked. After arriving at
- 1:06:14Speaker 29: the Marcie Correctional Facility on December ninth, Brooks had been
- 1:06:18Speaker 29: serving a twelve year sentence for an assault in twenty seventeen.
- 1:06:22Speaker 29: It is unclear why he's transferred to the Central New
- 1:06:25Speaker 29: York Prison. At one point, one officer yanks him by
- 1:06:29Speaker 29: the neck and drops his semi conscious body on an
- 1:06:32Speaker 29: examination table. The beating lasted roughly twenty minutes. Brooks died
- 1:06:37Speaker 29: the following morning. In a statement, an attorney for the
- 1:06:40Speaker 29: Brooks family said mister Brooks was fatally violently beaten by
- 1:06:44Speaker 29: a group of officers whose job was to keep him safe.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: He deserved to live.
- 1:06:49Speaker 29: New York Governor Kathy Hochel has requested the termination of
- 1:06:53Speaker 29: thirteen guards and one nurse. Implicate, here's you.
- 1:06:56Speaker 15: Say, termination, see need your good liberal friends, termination, my
- 1:07:01Speaker 15: ass termination.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: No prosecution in charge with accessory to murder. He said,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I should try to be slicked this cart white privilege.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: You can't.
- 1:07:15Speaker 15: Oh, we're gonna fire them now, We're not gonna fire
- 1:07:18Speaker 15: a no goddamn body. They accessories to murder. And he said,
- 1:07:23Speaker 15: be prosecuted. But the bullets still in the law.
- 1:07:26Speaker 13: Not no.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Oh, step on the original. You gotta fire.
- 1:07:29Speaker 15: Go get another job at another uh correctional facility down
- 1:07:35Speaker 15: the street. You know you're gonna get another job at
- 1:07:39Speaker 15: another correctional facility down the street, and being a nurse,
- 1:07:42Speaker 15: you would get another nursing gig somewhere else.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Now they stand by and watching man.
- 1:07:47Speaker 15: Getting murdered and didn't do anything, didn't decide to didn't
- 1:07:51Speaker 15: try to stop anything.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Unstaid.
- 1:07:53Speaker 15: If you try to stop it and you were, you know, stopped,
- 1:07:57Speaker 15: you show a part of your humanity.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: But you didn't do that. That's not what happened to you.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: It ain't what you did. Right.
- 1:08:11Speaker 15: He lets someone get beat to death and that wasn't
- 1:08:12Speaker 15: the problem with you, and you got to fake governent.
- 1:08:15Speaker 15: See this is how white privilege works. The governor said, oh,
- 1:08:18Speaker 15: I'm I'm gonna fire everyone. Nah, you're not to fire
- 1:08:21Speaker 15: no damn body. Yeah, you can fire them in lieu
- 1:08:24Speaker 15: of being prosecuted.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Not a sess Toy the murder.
- 1:08:30Speaker 15: That is that just some big things. He's firing everybody there.
- 1:08:33Speaker 15: Are you talking about these people assisted in a brutal murderer, lady,
- 1:08:42Speaker 15: So they should be prosecuted as a says toy the murder.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: It's just that simple. In the assault.
- 1:08:53Speaker 29: After visiting the facility where Brooks was beaten, Governor Hochel
- 1:08:56Speaker 29: released a statement yesterday, saying, in part, this system failed
- 1:09:01Speaker 29: mister Brooks, and I will not be satisfied until there
- 1:09:03Speaker 29: has been significant culture change. In the aftermath of Brooks's death,
- 1:09:08Speaker 29: community leaders and activists are calling for justice and reform.
- 1:09:15Speaker 17: Just because individuals on the frusratia doesn't mean that they
- 1:09:19Speaker 17: give up their rights to be herobian.
- 1:09:22Speaker 29: A twenty twenty three investigation by the Marshall Project in
- 1:09:25Speaker 29: The New York Times found that from twenty ten to
- 1:09:27Speaker 29: twenty twenty two, New York's Department of Corrections filed five
- 1:09:31Speaker 29: than six hundred and forty two disciplinary cases against prison staff,
- 1:09:36Speaker 29: but only succeeded in firing twenty eight officers. Three of
- 1:09:40Speaker 29: the guards involved in the assault against Brooks were previously
- 1:09:43Speaker 29: accused of beating inmates in a similar manner. As of today,
- 1:09:47Speaker 29: none of the fourteen employees implicated have been charged with wrongdoing,
- 1:09:52Speaker 29: but New York State Attorney General Letitia James promised a
- 1:09:55Speaker 29: full investigation.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Because I have a responsibility. The responsibility nothing and they're white.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: That's why they haven't been charged. And what have been charged?
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: They're white family, that's why they haven't been charged. All right?
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Have they been charge? It because they're white. That's the
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: dirty secret and everybody knows it. And that's why the
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: governments something.
- 1:10:19Speaker 15: Oh, I'm gonna fire them. I'm not gonna prosecute them.
- 1:10:22Speaker 15: They while stand around and being a part of murder.
- 1:10:26Speaker 15: I'm just gonna fire them.
- 1:10:28Speaker 13: Now.
- 1:10:28Speaker 15: You know, anybody black, black male, black nurse standing around
- 1:10:33Speaker 15: on a white man to get beat to death, every
- 1:10:35Speaker 15: last one being brought up on charges.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: You know that's a fact. So you don't know white privileges.
- 1:10:42Speaker 15: I'm pointing out to you right there, that's white privilege. Okay,
- 1:10:47Speaker 15: explain it to you because all you white.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Me back now you don't know what it is. It
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: keeps your memory.
- 1:10:57Speaker 11: And judy to provide the Brooks family, their loved ones,
- 1:11:02Speaker 11: and all New Yorkers with.
- 1:11:04Speaker 21: Transparency and accountability.
- 1:11:07Speaker 29: Authorities have not released an official cause of debt for Brooks,
- 1:11:10Speaker 29: but according to court documents, the medical examiner's preliminary findings
- 1:11:14Speaker 29: show quote concern for asphyxia due to compression of the neck.
- 1:11:19Speaker 21: Robert Brooks was forty three years old.
- 1:11:22Speaker 29: For the PBS News Hour, I'm Laura bur On Lopez.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: That's what happens. See the way has big crump. He
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: wants it he wants that money.
- 1:11:39Speaker 15: I think Big crumped this does the shootings, Ricky. I
- 1:11:44Speaker 15: think Big Crumpt does the shooting Ricky.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: I don't know. He does inmates and beings and he does.
- 1:12:00Speaker 9: Every day's.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I haven't seen him yet do that. So and Bill
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Crumpt have murder will travel.
- 1:12:06Speaker 15: His mumba mouth ass shows up wherever there's a bag
- 1:12:10Speaker 15: as a if there's a bag to be had.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: His mumble mouth ass it will show up. Have mumble
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: mouth will travel.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Right well, mumba mouth will travel. Show the videos that
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: video no more.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Dan twenty five years ago about one.
- 1:13:38Speaker 11: Video that clearly shows these twelve strikes or punches to
- 1:13:42Speaker 11: a man who's handcuffed. Robert Brooks had just been transferred
- 1:13:47Speaker 11: to Marcie corrections. Video came found the video itself assault.
- 1:13:51Speaker 11: Part of the video you will soon see shows a
- 1:13:54Speaker 11: directions officer using a boot to kick Brooks, who's handcuffed
- 1:13:58Speaker 11: with a bloody face. It happened Monday, December ninth. Robert Brooks,
- 1:14:03Speaker 11: who was convicted of assault outside Rochester, died at the
- 1:14:06Speaker 11: hospital in Utica the next day, December tenth. His death
- 1:14:10Speaker 11: only became public Sunday the fifteenth, when it was announced
- 1:14:14Speaker 11: by the state Corrections Commissioner that an inmate had died
- 1:14:17Speaker 11: after use of force by staff at Marcy. Robert Brooks
- 1:14:21Speaker 11: was identified as that inmate the next day, December sixteenth.
- 1:14:25Speaker 11: Days later from the twenty third, the governor called for
- 1:14:28Speaker 11: the firing of fourteen people implicated in his death. All told,
- 1:14:33Speaker 11: the state Attorney General released nearly two hours of bodycam
- 1:14:36Speaker 11: footage from four separate cameras.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: We'll walk you through dement's moment by moment.
- 1:14:42Speaker 11: Robert Brooks's family has seen parts of it and called
- 1:14:45Speaker 11: it horrific and devastating, and it is what the bodykim
- 1:14:50Speaker 11: video shows has been widely condemned for its shocking violence.
- 1:14:54Speaker 11: It begins after nine o'clock at night, Monday, December ninth,
- 1:14:58Speaker 11: on secure property outside Marcie Correctional There is no sound
- 1:15:03Speaker 11: because the cameras were in standby mode and not activated
- 1:15:07Speaker 11: by the law enforcement officers wearing them. Forty three year
- 1:15:10Speaker 11: old Robert Brooks, handcuffed behind his back, appears to be
- 1:15:14Speaker 11: lifted off the ground and carried by his arms. Less
- 1:15:18Speaker 11: than a minute later, inside the prison infirmary, which is
- 1:15:21Speaker 11: getting crowded with more prison staff, when we see Robert
- 1:15:25Speaker 11: Brooks's face for the first time. It's bloody. Then the
- 1:15:29Speaker 11: video shows two punches, the first of many.
- 1:15:32Speaker 26: I do not take lightly the release of this video,
- 1:15:36Speaker 26: especially the middle the holiday season, but as Attorney General,
- 1:15:42Speaker 26: I released these videos because I have a responsibility and
- 1:15:45Speaker 26: duty to provide the Brooks family, their loved ones, and
- 1:15:50Speaker 26: all New Yorkers with transparency and accountability.
- 1:15:55Speaker 11: After two apparent punches, Robert Brooks's head is visibly wobbly
- 1:16:00Speaker 11: being held up by two correction officers. There is more
- 1:16:03Speaker 11: struggle on the infirmary table, and an officer appears to
- 1:16:07Speaker 11: deliver another strong punch. Less than a minute later, three
- 1:16:11Speaker 11: more successive blows.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: To the back of the seven.
- 1:16:15Speaker 11: Less than fifteen seconds later, a correction officer is seen
- 1:16:18Speaker 11: rubbing Brooks's chest in sternham area, and while the intent
- 1:16:22Speaker 11: is not clear, a sternum rub is a painful stimulus
- 1:16:27Speaker 11: used to assess the responsiveness of someone who may be unconscious.
- 1:16:32Speaker 11: Eventually Brooks is put into leg restraints. When Brooks is
- 1:16:36Speaker 11: pulled up to a seated position, the video clearly shows
- 1:16:40Speaker 11: he's unsteady, barely able to stay upright without assistance. Even
- 1:16:44Speaker 11: though the video is silent The next blow is excruciating
- 1:16:48Speaker 11: to watch.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Brooks is not struggling. We don't know.
- 1:16:52Speaker 11: What's being said, but we see a wind up right
- 1:16:55Speaker 11: hand punch to the midsection to get him to his feet.
- 1:16:59Speaker 11: Prisons yank him by the collar. Then he shoved against
- 1:17:03Speaker 11: a wall in a hallway outside. Other staff members are
- 1:17:07Speaker 11: seen listening to what's happening, one of them clearly smiling
- 1:17:10Speaker 11: or laughing about something in the room. Robert Brooks is
- 1:17:15Speaker 11: lifted straight up off the ground by two officers.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Then Brooks his back on the infirmary bed. He is
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: stripped of his.
- 1:17:22Speaker 11: Pants, now in underwear. He is no longer handcuffed, he
- 1:17:27Speaker 11: is no longer moving.
- 1:17:29Speaker 21: As Attorney General, you have my.
- 1:17:31Speaker 26: Word, then we will use every possible tool available to
- 1:17:35Speaker 26: us to investigate this death thoroughly and swiftly.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Blaken and fakes you, she's saying, where haven't God damn
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: my wrist? Why not be walked on?
- 1:17:48Speaker 15: He fucking house by man? What are you talking about?
- 1:17:54Speaker 15: With nonsense of you talking? He's said he's murdered this.
- 1:18:00Speaker 12: Man like you said.
- 1:18:01Speaker 15: You see them in the hallway smiling and laughing. Where's
- 1:18:05Speaker 15: your damn humanity? There's this no humanity. They all tellbody,
- 1:18:09Speaker 15: I'm gonna fire you know this this this this moradic
- 1:18:13Speaker 15: as mayor a governor, A good fire, nothing fire.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Nobody gonna lock these savages up. They're gonna be firing.
- 1:18:23Speaker 15: Anybody gonna prosecute des forcessory to murder. Dr They all
- 1:18:30Speaker 15: stood around when someone was being murdered. That means they're
- 1:18:33Speaker 15: nowcountable for said murder. Tell us, you know, we don't
- 1:18:39Speaker 15: every time they do somebody that's somebody black. These are
- 1:18:45Speaker 15: the circumstances we always should expect. But if there's anybody
- 1:18:49Speaker 15: black killing anyone white and everybody stand around lapping, all
- 1:18:53Speaker 15: these people would be now have a case against them
- 1:18:57Speaker 15: for accessory to murder.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Us a path.
- 1:19:04Speaker 15: And at these right way morons that picked up this
- 1:19:06Speaker 15: story because it's indepensible. It doesn't fit their big ass narrative.
- 1:19:14Speaker 15: What happens indefensible.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Thirteen people stood around while this man was being beaten
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: to death. So this is the same images we see. Family.
- 1:19:27Speaker 15: They would hang us and burn our goddamn bodies, and
- 1:19:31Speaker 15: they would have a picnic and smile and laugh and
- 1:19:34Speaker 15: all that demonic as shit they do. Sold you things
- 1:19:37Speaker 15: have not changed. Remember, they would burning, burn, us to
- 1:19:42Speaker 15: death and hang us and they have everybody.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Ride around me smiling, laughing. Look at that from the children.
- 1:19:50Speaker 15: Sitting around when they burnt us a fucking a burnt
- 1:19:54Speaker 15: us alive and hunt us and then took body parts.
- 1:19:58Speaker 15: These are facts. They don't want to talking about that history.
- 1:20:02Speaker 15: Nobody wanted to raise history today.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: That's them.
- 1:20:05Speaker 15: These things they did think even a hundred years ago
- 1:20:12Speaker 15: hat black people burn up and they didn't take half
- 1:20:17Speaker 15: their body parts to put them in jars and ship
- 1:20:20Speaker 15: or eat up, measure this crazy shit. And so what
- 1:20:26Speaker 15: you see had this is no more than a public
- 1:20:28Speaker 15: lynching itself. That's what This is a public lynching where
- 1:20:32Speaker 15: everybody stands around and laughs and you know, no humanity
- 1:20:36Speaker 15: there and think he was just stepped in this.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: No, they out there laughing.
- 1:20:43Speaker 15: It's funny. Don't look at this bagging beat today. Who yeah, yeah,
- 1:20:48Speaker 15: this is great beating to Denner. It's a great beating
- 1:20:57Speaker 15: to Denn. This is great, It's awesome.
- 1:21:11Speaker 11: The body camera videos show a roughly ten minute interaction
- 1:21:15Speaker 11: from outside the correctional facility to inside the point where
- 1:21:18Speaker 11: you just saw Robert Brooks on the bed in his underwear.
- 1:21:22Speaker 11: Fourteen corrections department employees, two sergeants, ten correction officers, and
- 1:21:27Speaker 11: a nurse have been suspended. The governor is trying to
- 1:21:30Speaker 11: have them fired tonight. The organization that represents New York policing.
- 1:21:34Speaker 11: If you're getting ready to go on medical here I mistakes.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Ship talk about the government's trying the government's trying to
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: have empire trying to have them fire. They doesn't say
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: people trying to have them prosecuted fire. What the hell
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: is that?
- 1:22:05Speaker 15: What doesn't even mean the government's trying to have them fired,
- 1:22:10Speaker 15: but not prosecuted for accessory the murder. See, it hits
- 1:22:19Speaker 15: a little different when somebody being black murdered, there is
- 1:22:22Speaker 15: no legislation to defends. But if somebody just says Jews
- 1:22:28Speaker 15: may be bad or something, just some arbitrary towards Jewish people,
- 1:22:35Speaker 15: you gotta have all kind of anti Semitic laws now.
- 1:22:38Speaker 13: But beating a.
- 1:22:39Speaker 15: Black man the death still does it justify a black
- 1:22:44Speaker 15: hate crime bill being passed.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: This doesn't justify it. But because everybody.
- 1:22:50Speaker 15: Talking about some anti simitism bill for people not even
- 1:22:54Speaker 15: hurting Jewish people, where are Jewish people getting.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: Beat to death? Where is that at?
- 1:23:03Speaker 9: Show me.
- 1:23:06Speaker 15: We've got this thing anti anti anti Semitism bills being
- 1:23:12Speaker 15: lason being introduced everywhere, absolutely insane.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: So the situation is still the.
- 1:23:26Speaker 15: Same, you know, sad, And they would try to justify
- 1:23:38Speaker 15: this kind of inhumane treatment because opposed he was a criminal,
- 1:23:42Speaker 15: always in prison. Already he was already in prison, he
- 1:23:45Speaker 15: committed a crime. What does that got to do with
- 1:23:49Speaker 15: being beat to death? Nothing is that one has to
- 1:23:54Speaker 15: do with the other does not. But it's in humanity treating.
- 1:24:02Speaker 15: And they knew they were gonna get away with it
- 1:24:03Speaker 15: because he's black and everybody around there was white.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: They stood around I told you there like a packed animal,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: like a wolf pack. Now you don't have to say
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: all white people bad, because they're not no such thing
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: as all. But show me the good ones. Where was
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: the good one in that situation when the man was
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: getting beat the dead?
- 1:24:28Speaker 15: Where was the good one at I'm asking for a friend,
- 1:24:31Speaker 15: where was Where was the good one at.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: The said hey, let me go ahead and step in
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: and stop this because this is in humane? Where was
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: a good one? Act from asking you know, it's a
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: sad situation. I'm gonna yeah, you know, I'm like that lady.
- 1:25:17Speaker 15: This this kind of touched me deeper than my soul
- 1:25:19Speaker 15: looking at this, this kind of brutality, and it just pushed.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: This side as the norm. You have a uh a
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: liberal governor.
- 1:25:31Speaker 15: Up there talking about I'm just gonna try to get
- 1:25:35Speaker 15: them by, try to get them fired. Try, that's the
- 1:25:42Speaker 15: least you can do. Try, I'm gonna try to get
- 1:25:45Speaker 15: them fired. You mean they won't get fired. It's out
- 1:25:47Speaker 15: of general purposes. That's the least that should happen. If
- 1:25:54Speaker 15: you should have said, I'm gonna prosecute them for accessory
- 1:25:59Speaker 15: to murder, that's what came out of your mouth. So
- 1:26:05Speaker 15: when you think you got a liberal liberal.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Analys guys, you don't. Can't. I'm gonna don't ever.
- 1:26:15Speaker 15: Get caught up with that right left bullshit, that liberal
- 1:26:20Speaker 15: versus conservative nonsense. As black people went on global, we
- 1:26:25Speaker 15: can't be liberal nor conservative, but the fucker we try
- 1:26:28Speaker 15: to conserve nothing. You've stolen everything from us. We can't
- 1:26:32Speaker 15: go with the liberal mind. It says we don't support
- 1:26:34Speaker 15: none of that, So we stand outside of the political definitions.
- 1:26:43Speaker 15: Because neither one of their group he has ideologies, been
- 1:26:46Speaker 15: afit us that liberal bullshit or that conservative bullshit. Neither
- 1:26:52Speaker 15: one of their goopy ideologies better bit us.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: It never ass that's some government looking at look looking
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: at it. Take of murder a video third toborrow.
- 1:27:02Speaker 15: I'm gonna try to get some people fired. I'm gonna
- 1:27:06Speaker 15: try to get some people fired. Who will committed murdered?
- 1:27:08Speaker 15: Who stand around and whytn' an innocent man be beat
- 1:27:11Speaker 15: to death. He was innocent because he didn't do any
- 1:27:18Speaker 15: crime to be beaten to death. He was just being
- 1:27:20Speaker 15: movingm one facility to the next facility, so that didn't
- 1:27:26Speaker 15: justify him being beaten to death. So he is an
- 1:27:32Speaker 15: innocent man. You know, it's absolutely crazy.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Think this thing. God to cut me off? This is crazy.
- 1:28:00Speaker 15: Get so much moody dancing on this, that's tick. Take
- 1:28:09Speaker 15: I don't give a damn up they do bang this
- 1:28:12Speaker 15: fucking act. They can't cut me off. They ain't did
- 1:28:17Speaker 15: nothing crazy, but they keep cutting the damn sharp every
- 1:28:20Speaker 15: five seconds. Then keep asking you want to resume? Why
- 1:28:28Speaker 15: you keep cutting it off? Stop shutting the ship off,
- 1:28:32Speaker 15: Ask me to go, I want to resume. I never
- 1:28:36Speaker 15: turned the ship off. H Oh, guys, let me do

- 1:38:47Speaker 34: in this video in its entirety, it's six minutes and
- 1:38:50Speaker 34: forty one seconds. We probably won't watch the whole thing.
- 1:38:53Speaker 34: So this is the second video. This is Sergeant Trumbley's
- 1:38:58Speaker 34: body cam. This he's coming into her to turn know
- 1:39:00Speaker 34: James say that they did not have the sound don
- 1:39:03Speaker 34: they were in a mope.
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: That prevented the sound from being broad cancers.
- 1:39:08Speaker 34: They bringing him in here has to be skilled but
- 1:39:10Speaker 34: earlier and their brutality that he's been carried.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: In not under his own power.
- 1:39:19Speaker 34: And of course we have our m Briandy Naham and
- 1:39:23Speaker 34: for the Michael chap from the African History Network, founder
- 1:39:26Speaker 34: of African Issue Network in that Manning of course, attorney
- 1:39:29Speaker 34: Manning out of corpse Christy, Texas. So, brothers, there is
- 1:39:32Speaker 34: no audio here and then either of you feel they
- 1:39:37Speaker 34: ought to make any comments or we're just saying, you
- 1:39:40Speaker 34: know why we're about forty one seconds in.
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: It's being.
- 1:39:48Speaker 13: So obviously.
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: Whatever time it was so looks like a sergeant probably
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: he's bringing up the rear there. Yeah it is.
- 1:40:02Speaker 34: It's it's your debt to be okay, Now we're coming in.
- 1:40:03Speaker 34: This is this is where we stopped with the first
- 1:40:05Speaker 34: video Michael of Law. Yeah, these guys, they.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: Get talked to, fake courage, no black offices.
- 1:40:14Speaker 34: Okay, whether it's sitting up right and looks like he
- 1:40:16Speaker 34: may have been able to be transporting his own power,
- 1:40:18Speaker 34: that wasn't going to happen.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: You can't hear anything else they're talking to him now, Matt.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: How usually is this man? You ever see anything like
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: this or kind of bringing somebody in like that? Yeah,
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: I've never seen that. Bat, I've never once seen somebody
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: transported in like that.
- 1:40:34Speaker 35: And I'm kind of glad you asked me that because
- 1:40:35Speaker 35: one of the things that's immediately very concerning and strange
- 1:40:38Speaker 35: is that this happened during an immediate transport. So how
- 1:40:43Speaker 35: you know it's it's it's presumably there's not already some
- 1:40:46Speaker 35: relationship where they knew this person or had an animus
- 1:40:49Speaker 35: toward him, right, because he's really moved to a new.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: Facility, So it's pretty unusual to see that kind of thing.
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: But also, you know, what I've seen on this case
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: so far is that obviously he's handcuffed.
- 1:40:59Speaker 35: I mean, he was being transported, so I don't even
- 1:41:02Speaker 35: know that they can make any accusation he was in
- 1:41:04Speaker 35: any way posing any threat. So I think part of
- 1:41:06Speaker 35: the reason they got fired, yeah, is I mean, while
- 1:41:10Speaker 35: you're looking at in the video, you don't see anything
- 1:41:11Speaker 35: where he looks like he's making any kind of movements
- 1:41:13Speaker 35: where they can say, you know, there's any kind of
- 1:41:15Speaker 35: threat he was facing.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: Or that they were facing from him. So I don't
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: have any idea why this is happening in this way.
- 1:41:22Speaker 35: Very unusual and extremely problematic, which is why I'm thinking
- 1:41:25Speaker 35: of the powers that be jumped to cut these people
- 1:41:27Speaker 35: loose so quickly.
- 1:41:29Speaker 34: Yeah, because it did seem very quick, right, I mean
- 1:41:30Speaker 34: the governor hook at just look at this be his
- 1:41:32Speaker 34: courage and his tidy fist off Mike, which what do
- 1:41:34Speaker 34: you think brother?
- 1:41:36Speaker 36: You know, I was reading the article from the Associated
- 1:41:40Speaker 36: Press on this case, and I see that you have
- 1:41:44Speaker 36: a thirteen correctional officers from one nurse then fired. And
- 1:41:52Speaker 36: the first question I asked is Okay, so what calls?
- 1:41:56Speaker 36: Why is this orpication happening? He's already in handcuffs because
- 1:42:00Speaker 36: I haven't been able to find out and I'm not
- 1:42:02Speaker 36: even sure if they released this, what precipitated this, and
- 1:42:06Speaker 36: what's the.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: Cause of this?
- 1:42:07Speaker 37: Number one Number two, the Union for the correctional officers,
- 1:42:11Speaker 37: even though they say they will defend.
- 1:42:13Speaker 34: Them and just go ahead, sir, not just very quick
- 1:42:17Speaker 34: they do. Don't forget their point. There here all these
- 1:42:19Speaker 34: parts beating on this brother, This is another angle. This
- 1:42:22Speaker 34: is correction Officer Matthew Gallagher's body camp. Looks like we're
- 1:42:24Speaker 34: picking up a thanks team. Looks like look at this,
- 1:42:26Speaker 34: look at this part. So what the hell this is happening.
- 1:42:29Speaker 34: This looks like it's picking up right around the same
- 1:42:31Speaker 34: time that we paused Troubley's body cam. So this is Gallagher,
- 1:42:35Speaker 34: correction Officer Matthew Gallagher picking up from there. And the
- 1:42:37Speaker 34: athletes will see a little bit for Michael Fisher because
- 1:42:39Speaker 34: you go ahead, Mike, you're about to talk about the
- 1:42:40Speaker 34: union completion.
- 1:42:41Speaker 37: Yeah, yeah, the union said, even though they are going
- 1:42:44Speaker 37: to defend the correctional officers in court, they said a
- 1:42:49Speaker 37: union spokesperson said, what we witness reviewing a body camp
- 1:42:53Speaker 37: for this is incomprehensible, to say the least, and certainly
- 1:42:56Speaker 37: not reflective of the.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: Great work that the vast majority of our members shand
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: us but the union, but the union condemned this behavior,
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: which is strange for unions because usually.
- 1:43:07Speaker 36: The unions like we we seen numerous police sho wings
- 1:43:09Speaker 36: and the unions say that the police officers true for
- 1:43:12Speaker 36: their lives.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: The police officers did nothing. I told you they were
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: gonna try to always do that. Beard put the live
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: ship and that's not gonna work.
- 1:43:19Speaker 18: Man.
- 1:43:20Speaker 15: The young man was handcuffed. It's always that same fake
- 1:43:24Speaker 15: ass spirit for your like shit that.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: Wasn't gonna work in this instant. All these white savages
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: around them murdering his brother. So that bear for your
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: like ship that was gonna work.
- 1:43:38Speaker 15: Through.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: You're like where.
- 1:43:41Speaker 15: You got the other savages around you watching negating this
- 1:43:47Speaker 15: man's humanity. I mean, I told you this undefensible. It's undefensible.
- 1:43:57Speaker 15: Is they're gonna try to be's undefensible, agree it.
- 1:44:03Speaker 13: Wrong things like this.
- 1:44:04Speaker 36: But here the young is admitting that that the officer
- 1:44:08Speaker 36: did wrong, and the actions of the correctional officers are incomprehensible.
- 1:44:12Speaker 34: So it seems pretty bay to me. I mean, I
- 1:44:16Speaker 34: make it, dude, Okay. The next video was from Sergeant
- 1:44:26Speaker 34: Glenn trump bleas by the can of the ship.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: That ended out on a life cut short the death
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: of Robert Brooks. Robert Brooks, a forty three year.
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: Old inmate at Marcie Correctional Facility in Oneida, New York,
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: died on December ninth, twenty twenty four.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: His death, tragically, was not a peaceful one.
- 1:44:54Speaker 38: It was a brutal end to a life already marked
- 1:44:56Speaker 38: by hardship and incarceration. Brooks was serving a twelve year
- 1:45:00Speaker 38: sentence for stabbing his girlfriend in twenty seventeen. Now his
- 1:45:04Speaker 38: family is left grappling with the horrific circumstances of his death,
- 1:45:08Speaker 38: demanding answers and accountability.
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: Brooks's case is sadly not an isolated incident. It throws
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: a harsh light on the systemic issues plaguing prisons across
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: the country. Marcie Correctional Facility in particular, has a troubled history.
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: This incident is a stark reminder of the urgent need
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: for reform within the correctional system.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: Brooks's death is a tragedy on many levels.
- 1:45:30Speaker 38: It's a stark reminder of the human cost of incarceration
- 1:45:34Speaker 38: and the urgent.
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: Need for reform unseen violence. The body camera footage and
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: its limitations.
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: The incident that led to Brooks's death was captured on
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: body camera footage, but with a critical flaw the audio
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: was off. This crucial omission means that while we can
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: see the violent struggle, we can't hear what transpired. The
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: footage shows multiple officers subduing Brooks on an exam table.
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: He was handcuffed and restrained, yet the officers continued to
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: punch and kick him in the face, torso and genitals.
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: A lack of audio raising serious questions. What were the
- 1:46:09Speaker 3: officers saying? Was Brooks resisting or was this a case
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: of excessive forces?
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: Is he gonna resist when he's handcuffed behind his back? Resists?
- 1:46:19Speaker 15: What?
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: See that?
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: Those scams not gonna work.
- 1:46:21Speaker 15: Either told me everybody alive and resisting and all of
- 1:46:25Speaker 15: a sudden, big garible police talk that they do, it's
- 1:46:29Speaker 15: not gonna work. The video is evident of complete brutal savagery.
- 1:46:37Speaker 15: That's where we're looking at. You said it's undefensible, So
- 1:46:44Speaker 15: the same usual tactics are not gonna work this time.
- 1:46:50Speaker 15: But this is what they've been doing to black people forever.
- 1:46:53Speaker 15: But we still don't give no anti Black hate bill.
- 1:46:57Speaker 15: And then you've got all this legislation being tried trying
- 1:47:00Speaker 15: to be bad for a doctor Andy Semitic.
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: For insulting somebody's supposed to be Julius. They get all
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: these crazy as legislation, let us get beat to death
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: and by it.
- 1:47:17Speaker 15: Now that steal doesn't cause for us. They have any
- 1:47:20Speaker 15: kind of anti black legislation pad and implement. You know
- 1:47:31Speaker 15: you don't get none of that.
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: Seeing audio creates a chilling void, leaving us with more
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: questions than answers.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: This lack of audio is not just an unfortunate technical glitch.
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: It's a damning indictment of the very system meant to
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: protect inmates.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: It underscores the urgent need.
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: For comprehensive body camera policies that ensure both video and
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: audio are recorded without fail.
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: Justice to let that's will the crazy.
- 1:48:44Speaker 8: This people sent.
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: All right, let me get out of that. Got uh.
- 1:49:12Speaker 13: Got there? Who got all right?
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: Fat, I'm gonna wrap this thing up here by man.
