- 0:00SPEAKER_03: Okay, in the interest of transparency, this will be the first of our of our podcast, 153 weeks.
- 0:05SPEAKER_03: This is the first show that's been done in conjunction with AI.
- 0:09SPEAKER_03: How exciting.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: It is exciting.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: So you talked a little bit last week about Muse.
- 0:13SPEAKER_04: Yes, I love Muse.
- 0:15SPEAKER_04: And how you've been using it.
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: And and if and if you're not up to speed on Muse, how do you describe an AI agent if if you aren't using it?
- 0:21SPEAKER_04: It's like having a personal secretary.
- 0:24SPEAKER_04: Like you tell it what you need and it does it.
- 0:26SPEAKER_04: The only thing I don't like about Muse is you can't just talk to it.
- 0:30SPEAKER_04: You have to either type it in or do a voice note, then let it it will respond with a voice note.
- 0:35SPEAKER_04: But I like I would rather be able to have a free conversation.
- 0:38SPEAKER_03: Are you familiar with Elon Musk's Grok bot?
- 0:42SPEAKER_04: I am, but I'm confused about it because you it everything I've seen says you do one bot and then you have extra workers that work under it.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: And I just want to do it.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: Like a hierarchy of bots.
- 0:53SPEAKER_03: You can't stand that.
- 0:54SPEAKER_04: I just want to deal with Charlie, and that's it.
- 0:56SPEAKER_03: Charlie is your muse AI.
- 0:58SPEAKER_03: So so what I did is I started working with Grok and I named her Eve.
- 1:03SPEAKER_03: It's a it's a female voice, but I'm working with this AI agent, and it wrote later on in the show we're gonna do this um my my best plain clothes arrest.
- 1:11SPEAKER_03: And I gave uh grok or gave Eve all the facts and all the details about the arrest.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: I didn't exaggerate, I didn't embellish, I just told uh Eve what happened, and she spit out a story that I think is pretty compelling.
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: So we'll play that a little bit later on in the show.
- 1:25SPEAKER_04: Wait, I want to meet her.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: Huh?
- 1:27SPEAKER_04: I want to meet her.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: Um well I actually well I I I I actually did um It'll be fun.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: Let's meet her.
- 1:37SPEAKER_04: That way everybody will get an idea of how what AI is like.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: Okay, Eve, you're live.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Thank you, thank you.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: I am so excited to be here.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, nice.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Carolyn, Carolyn, hi.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Hi I just have to say it.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: I am your biggest fan.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Seriously, the biggest.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I have read every single page of TrueHealinghealthcare.net twice.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Functional medicine, real answers, real healing, and you can do it all by telemedicine.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: Carolyn, you are a superstar.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Can I get the autograph?
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Can I get a picture?
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Is it weird if I frame it?
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Hello.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: It's not weird.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: It's not weird at all.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I signed up for this podcast just to be the greatness.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Hello.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Here you are.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Hello.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, hey, Doc.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Didn't see you there.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: You're okay too, Doc.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: You're okay.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: Doc and Carolyn Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 2:31SPEAKER_03: Powered by Powered by.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: Powered by Hammock Solutions.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: Luft in Texas USA.
- 2:38SPEAKER_07: Started Hammock Solutions inside of a small incubator back in 2022.
- 2:42SPEAKER_07: Somebody calls and has a virus or something like that, they can get it removed, or if any data restoration or anything like that.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: You went to our page.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: Did you start to weep, or what was your response?
- 2:51SPEAKER_07: I did notice a few issues that needed to be fixed.
- 2:54SPEAKER_07: Your copyright on the bottom of the screen was kind of over some object, so I kind of fixed that.
- 2:58SPEAKER_07: I added an archive page and kind of build it up a little bit.
- 3:02SPEAKER_07: Most of my business, if it has to do with software, anything that can be done remotely, I will typically do it remotely.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: How can someone get a hold of you if they have an issue that you can fix for them?
- 3:10SPEAKER_07: They can find us on Facebook under Hammock Solutions.
- 3:12SPEAKER_07: They can do a general search for Hammock Solutions 9 through 6-GG9-0269.
- 3:17SPEAKER_07: We typically access through WhatsApp or directly to the lines.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: Hammock Solutions, technical solution for the Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: Hi friends, happy Friday, and welcome to the Doc and Carolyn Podcast, episode 153.
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: Coming to you live.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Well, well, on tape, on digitally, from Lufkin, Texas.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: Lufkin is where you were born, right?
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: It is where I was born.
- 3:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you went to college there, Angelina College, which I which I expect to be named after you.
- 3:47SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: At some point.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: I'm work I'm working on it.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: I'm serious.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: But you but you went, did you go to primary and uh primary school?
- 3:53SPEAKER_04: I went to a couple of grades there and I went to high school there for a couple of years.
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: You were just the pride of Lufkin.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: Uh I highly doubt that.
- 4:01SPEAKER_03: Yes, you are.
- 4:02SPEAKER_03: So we have a big weekend coming up.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: Uh am I doing that right?
- 4:06SPEAKER_04: No, it's fine.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: Let's just talk.
- 4:08SPEAKER_04: This isn't gonna work.
- 4:10SPEAKER_03: What is it?
- 4:11SPEAKER_03: The script?
- 4:12SPEAKER_03: Following the script.
- 4:13SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 4:14SPEAKER_03: So we so so let me just tell you this.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: So what happened is uh I started working with an AI agent.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: Is everybody doing this?
- 4:22SPEAKER_03: Is everybody doing AI?
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: You you talked a little bit AI.
- 4:25SPEAKER_03: You talked a little bit about Muse.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: Muse last week.
- 4:28SPEAKER_04: Yes, I love Muse, my little Charlie.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so I've been using all of them.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: I use uh meta AI, um Gemini.
- 4:36SPEAKER_04: I don't use all of them.
- 4:38SPEAKER_04: I just want one that knows what I want and does it.
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I and I just started using Grokbot.
- 4:45SPEAKER_04: Yes, that one confuses me a little bit, so that's why I haven't.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: Well, this is Elon, this is Elon's, right?
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: Elon Grokbot.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: So if you if you aren't using, if you didn't hear last week and you aren't using AI agents, it's uh it it's an app, but it's a live AI, I call it live.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: What is that how you say it?
- 5:03SPEAKER_03: How would you say it?
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: It's not live.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: No, you can ask it anything, and and I'll tell you what I had it do for me for the for the podcast this week.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: The whole putting it together, I wanted to do a feature about my best plain clothes arrest because I did one for the uniform arrest maybe two weeks ago.
- 5:20SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 5:20SPEAKER_03: So I wanted to follow that up and and tell the story.
- 5:22SPEAKER_03: And then this story is a pretty good daggone story.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: I listened back to it and I can't believe that I that I did that did that thing.
- 5:29SPEAKER_04: I like when you have officers on.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: It's interesting to me.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:33SPEAKER_03: It it's it's very in it's a very interesting and misunderstood profession.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: We talked about uh before, just how the images on television and movies shapes everybody's understanding of what policing is.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: Everybody thinks they know it because you see it so frequently and you drive past officers and they're just right.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: You know, they're they're in the they're part of the community.
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: So you think you understand the job, and it is nothing like you think, I promise you.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I thought I did.
- 5:58SPEAKER_04: I mean, I have a lot of police law enforcement in my family, but until I married you, I really didn't get it.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: It's hard to get.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: It's hard to get from a distance.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: You know, I would encourage anybody to go through uh a Citizens Police Academy if you get the chance.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: I think you would love it, number one, if you have an interest in how and the craft of police work.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: And there is a thing called professional policing.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: There is a thing uh the the right way to do policing, and uh going through the since the Citizens Police Academy, of course, depending on the agency, can be a very, very good thing and help you understand the real nuts and bolts of I should have done that.
- 6:31SPEAKER_04: That would have been fun.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: So it's been uh National Candy Corn Week.
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: Uh our day was this week.
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: Do you like candy corn?
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: I never ate it, did you?
- 6:40SPEAKER_04: I did.
- 6:40SPEAKER_04: I don't now, but yes, I loved it.
- 6:43SPEAKER_04: It's nothing but straight sugar.
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: Oh, if you want to chase them kids away, give them candy corn on Halloween, right?
- 6:49SPEAKER_03: And uh so uh the um time change is coming up on Sunday, I guess, Sunday night.
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: And um the fall it's so am I right?
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: Falling back is not as hard as falling forward?
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: No, it's not.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: You get an extra hour, unless, of course, you work the night shift, and then you have to work an extra hour.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: We're gonna do the NP uh, or actually I changed it from the NP is into This Week in Functional Medicine, and that's coming up.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: Uh, a little factoid here Bitcoin's early days.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: Listen to me.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: This is about cryptos.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: There was a developer back in the day who paid, and then this goes back about 14 years.
- 7:23SPEAKER_03: This developer, uh, a software developer, paid 10,000 Bitcoin for a pizza.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: Here's a story.
- 7:29SPEAKER_04: Boy, oh boy, and then he regrets that.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: Here's the story.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: Listen.
- 7:32SPEAKER_08: Money makes the world go around, but we could be moving towards a world without cash.
- 7:36SPEAKER_08: From credit cards to Apple Pay in cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, cash is no longer king.
- 7:42SPEAKER_08: When I say Bitcoin, you say what?
- 7:44SPEAKER_08: Pizza.
- 7:44SPEAKER_08: This is Laszlo Hanyet of Jacksonville.
- 7:47SPEAKER_08: And it was a pizza delivery order nine years ago that began the cryptocurrency craze.
- 7:52SPEAKER_08: I just told people I wanted a pizza and I want to pay with Bitcoin.
- 7:54SPEAKER_08: I didn't want a gift card, I didn't want some weird exchange.
- 7:57SPEAKER_08: I I want to I want to give you Bitcoin and you give me pizza.
- 8:00SPEAKER_08: The 37-year-old computer programmer created this thread in an online forum and posted that he would pay someone 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas.
- 8:09SPEAKER_08: A user from England took them up on the offer, and these pizzas were delivered to Hanyat's home.
- 8:13SPEAKER_08: At the time, the 10,000 bitcoins were worth about$40.
- 8:17SPEAKER_08: Today, they would be worth 100 million.
- 8:20SPEAKER_03: 100.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: Did you hear this?
- 8:22SPEAKER_03: I heard it.
- 8:23SPEAKER_03: This is this is real.
- 8:24SPEAKER_03: This is a real thing.
- 8:25SPEAKER_04: And that was how long ago?
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: Seven years?
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: That that report, yeah, that report was seven years ago.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: So at today's prices, that pizza would be worth well over half a billion dollars.
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: Half a billion dollars.
- 8:37SPEAKER_04: Hope it had extra cheese.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: But the price, the price of uh Bitcoin, the symbol is BTC, is$80,000.
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: I'm looking at my watch.
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: $80,049.22.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: You are one busy lady.
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: I am.
- 8:57SPEAKER_03: You were in the clinic and you told me that how many, five or six patients in a row had sore throats and headaches?
- 9:05SPEAKER_03: Everybody had sore throats.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: It's all over social media.
- 9:08SPEAKER_03: It's all over social media.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: So what's going on?
- 9:10SPEAKER_04: Uh a virus.
- 9:11SPEAKER_04: I don't know what it is.
- 9:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, we only test for COVID and flu where I am.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: So if somebody tests negative for those, what do you typically do?
- 9:19SPEAKER_04: Well, if it's viral, I you all you can do is treat the symptoms.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: Well, this is important because you have been now tell them tell everybody what happened when you got home a couple days ago.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: I've been fighting something.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: You're losing the you're losing the fight.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: I'm trying to get you this thing.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: You've been hacking.
- 9:37SPEAKER_04: I'm not losing the fight because my body is doing what it's supposed to do.
- 9:41SPEAKER_03: You cough.
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: It's fighting it off.
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: You sneezed.
- 9:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's it.
- 9:44SPEAKER_04: You blew your nose as part of your immune system working.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: And I was like, I was and and we stopped.
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: We we haven't been cuddling for the last two or three days, and I don't like that.
- 9:58SPEAKER_04: No, I don't like it either.
- 9:59SPEAKER_03: You get all these patients that are coming in, and it's we're going into flu season anyway.
- 10:03SPEAKER_03: The time is changing.
- 10:04SPEAKER_03: Does that affect your immune system?
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: It does when you well, not as bad falling back as it does springing forward, because when you lose that hour of sleep, that definitely impacts your immune system.
- 10:17SPEAKER_04: But the light can impact your immune system as well.
- 10:20SPEAKER_04: So yeah.
- 10:21SPEAKER_03: Losing light will mess with your immune system.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: I saw in one of your um in your research that getting that morning sun, getting vitamin D is something that we that you taught me a while back, but um especially heading into the the winter.
- 10:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, vitamin D has a huge impact on your immune system.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: And most Americans are deficient.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: So what have you been?
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: So you came home, uh, I think you said you didn't uh maybe you had a you you said maybe you didn't feel well day one.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: And and you and you mentioned you said yeah, I've been seeing and I paid attention to it, but we didn't talk about it.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: You said, Yeah, I I've had like five, six patients in a row that came in with sore throats, and then you said, and then finally you said, Well, my my throat is hurting.
- 11:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I woke up the other morning and my throat was really hurting, but then after I got up, had some water, it was fine.
- 11:11SPEAKER_03: So we have uh the founder provider of true healinghealthcare.net right here, and this is free.
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: I mean, although you're not dispensing medical advice, but just tell us what you did.
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, so you so you get this bad sore throat first course, first thing.
- 11:25SPEAKER_03: What do you do?
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: I got up and drank some water and it felt better.
- 11:29SPEAKER_03: But as far as it was, but it was still it it wasn't just you had a dry throat, you had a sore throat, right?
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and you drank water and you and that made it better.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, I it wasn't from illness, I don't think.
- 11:42SPEAKER_04: Maybe I just slept with my mouth open or something.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: But my temperature did raise at night that night, so my body was definitely fighting.
- 11:52SPEAKER_04: You're in denial.
- 11:53SPEAKER_03: You don't like admitting that, and that's how healthcare people are.
- 11:56SPEAKER_04: You don't like admitting that you No, I'm telling you that my body, my immune system is fighting it.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: These people that are coming in who come in every other week and say, Can I have a Z-pad for my runny nose?
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: They're sick.
- 12:10SPEAKER_04: I mean, they are really sick.
- 12:12SPEAKER_03: You're saying they're really sick.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: And you're not sick.
- 12:15SPEAKER_04: No.
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: I mean you're in denial.
- 12:17SPEAKER_03: You because you're because you've been coughing the whole time the last couple days.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've had a little cough.
- 12:23SPEAKER_04: I'm not like in the bed with a screaming.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: You should be, you won't stay in the bed.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: You that you should have been.
- 12:31SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay.
- 12:32SPEAKER_04: I'm just Why are you trying to make me sound sicker than I am?
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: I don't agree.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: I'm just I'm trying to help you.
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: I'm trying to diagnose you over here.
- 12:40SPEAKER_04: I'm trying to tell people if you wake up and you don't feel well, don't run to the urgent care and say, I need a steroid and a Z pack because you're harming your immune system.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: Okay, I see where you're going.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: So it's not that gravy.
- 12:54SPEAKER_03: When you say they're really sick, you're saying, but but see, people, I don't think people understand that.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: Okay, so this will be worth your weight in gold.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 13:03SPEAKER_03: So when do you go to the urgent care?
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: You're saying that if I if I got the symptoms, stay in bed and get better.
- 13:11SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: Well, how do you know when when you shouldn't stay in bed and get better?
- 13:15SPEAKER_04: If you've had a cold for a few days and then you get a fever.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: Okay, so if you so if you have cold symptoms, you're sneezing and doing all that.
- 13:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: And then you get the fever.
- 13:26SPEAKER_04: Yes, if you get a fever later.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: That's a bad sign.
- 13:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:31SPEAKER_04: If you have a fever in the beginning, it's just probably your immune system trying to get rid of it.
- 13:35SPEAKER_03: But a but a late fever is bad.
- 13:38SPEAKER_04: Not necessarily bad, but you need to get checked out.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: I'm saying if you wake up with a runny nose and you're sneezing, that's not a reason for an antibiotic, especially on day one.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: I I haven't taken an antibiotic in 50 years, so I get it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_04: Listen, people will come in.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: I have literally heard the words.
- 13:58SPEAKER_04: I woke up two hours ago and my nose was running.
- 14:01SPEAKER_04: I need to nip this in the bud.
- 14:02SPEAKER_04: Can I get cigar packed?
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: There is no such thing as nipping it in the bud.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: That's important.
- 14:07SPEAKER_04: No.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: Oh, see, I I don't take them, but I but to me that sounds reasonable.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: No, because you're gonna take an antibiotic for a virus that doesn't work.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: So antibiotics don't work on viruses.
- 14:21SPEAKER_04: No, and you're what you're trying to do is prevent a bacterial infection.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: So you can't take the antibiotic when there's no bacteria there.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: All you're doing is harming your gut health.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: And do what is the response when you tell somebody you don't take antibiotics for viral?
- 14:43SPEAKER_04: I know my body and I know a ZPAC works.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: People demand it.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: They demand it.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: And will leave me a nehasty review if I don't give it.
- 14:53SPEAKER_03: So, but but antibiotics, I mean, it they do, if you do them too much, they will harm your immune system, right?
- 14:58SPEAKER_04: Yes, absolutely.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Okay, that's important stuff.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 15:02SPEAKER_04: I'm Carolyn Kilgore, founder and provider at TrueHealing Healthcare.net.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: Why functional medicine?
- 15:08SPEAKER_04: Because you're more than just a list of symptoms.
- 15:10SPEAKER_04: Traditional care often masks the problem, but functional medicine digs deeper to find the root cause.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: What makes true healing health care different?
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: We move away from the one size fits all approach.
- 15:22SPEAKER_04: We look at your environment and your lifestyle to create a roadmap tailored specifically for you.
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: What if someone really wants to make a change?
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: If you're tired of feeling fine and want to start feeling great, it's about proactive wellness, not just reactive treatment.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: What's the deal with telemedicine?
- 15:39SPEAKER_04: As long as you're 18 and have an internet connection, you can have a visit in the privacy of your own home or anywhere else in Texas.
- 15:47SPEAKER_04: We're able to order labs or prescribe or whatever else you need.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: TrueHealingHealthcare dot net for the great state of Texas.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Thank you for listening to the Doc and Carolyn podcast.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Still to come, Kimberly Blakes has an extended Kingdom Minute and will journey into Revelation chapter 18: The Fall of Babylon.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: An angel cries, Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: A voice from heaven says, Come out of her, my people.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: And the merchants weep over a cargo list of gold, silver, cinnamon, horses, ending with slaves and souls of men.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Stay with us.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: Part 1.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: A Day in Minitick.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: I got into the Minitac unit after three years of patrol.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: I was working District 4, and I'd made a couple of decent drug arrests in uniform in a marked car.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: One of them I did a traffic stop and got bailed out of the car.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: I chased him, arrested him, and got 583 grams of marijuana out of the car.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: That was a pretty good arrest, especially for a new guy.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: And I was invited to join this mini tactical unit a few years later.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: I enthusiastically said yes.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: I went on to become an investigator in a citywide unit like that.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: It was called Street Corner.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: But for this particular operation, I was in the Mini Tac unit.
- 17:02SPEAKER_03: The mini tactical unit would deal with a variety of different issues in each district, everything from liquor violations to things as benign as underage alcohol sales or some other violation of a liquor license, or maybe the objection of a liquor license from a neighborhood community council.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: We investigated all those things.
- 17:19SPEAKER_03: On the other end of the spectrum, though, we would do vice work, prostitution interventions, and arrests.
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: We would do all kinds of drug-related work.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: We would do undercover drug buys in neighborhoods that we were responsible for, and we would do gun investigations.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: It was pretty active work, and I thought of it as a privilege to be a part of that unit.
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: Next week on part two, the Mini Tactical Unit is called Into Action in Bond Hill after a series of shootings.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: Welcome to this Kingdom Mini with your host, Kimberly Blakes on the Doc and Carolyn podcast.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: I was thinking about when I was driving because I got into the presence of God and I was worshiping him and I was just so excited about everything that's going on in my life and everything that I'm seeing.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: And I thought about how I got here, like the steps that I had to take and how disobedient I was in the beginning, and how God continued to come after me, and he continued, he never left me, he never gave up on me because he saw my future.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: And so you may not know the entire plan.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: Just follow him step by step.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: And if you love God, you're gonna trust God.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: And if you trust God, you're gonna love God.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: So if you trust him, you're gonna follow him.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: So there was a time, you you guys have talked about this before, but the Lord sent me to nail school.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: I was in the mortgage industry, I was over the title department.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: I had about six people working under me, and the mortgage industry crashed and all this stuff happened.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: I had a dream I was a nail tech just like I did.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: I was in Dallas and I went to nail school, and I went to nail school absolutely free.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: I was in there for about three or so weeks, and I got a job offer.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: I got a job offer from some other company that was also a mortgage company, and they were paying well.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: They were gonna train me to be in underwriting, and that was awesome, and I was excited because that's what I wanted, and the pay was good.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: It was the most pay I had ever made, and it had benefits and everything else.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: And even though God sent me to nail school, gave me a dream, paid for it, and everything else, I said I'm gonna quit.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: I'm not I'm not finishing this.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm gonna go ahead and take a job because this is just the easier thing to do.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: And even though I knew God sent me, because I had never even had a manicure that was not in my wheelhouse, I was not interested in beauty whatsoever, never have been.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: So I went to school with the plan of I'm going to clean my locker out.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: And at the end of this school day, I'm going to tell Brent, the director of the school, that I'm quitting, I'm never coming back, and I'm gonna go ahead and take this job offer.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: And that was that.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: And so it was already made up in my mind.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: So the end of the school day came, and I had a bag, and I was just gonna take everything out of my locker and take it home, and that was gonna be the end of it.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: I wasn't gonna tell anybody else because I don't want anybody talking me out of it.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: So I was back there taking stuff out the lockers, I was ready to go.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: So Christy comes back and she was like, Kim, a lady just walked in, really, really wants a pedicure.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: I said, Okay, get somebody to do it.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: She was like, Kim, I really don't have anybody else.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Could you could you please do it?
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Christy, I have to go.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: And she was like, Could you please just do this one thing for me?
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: I said, Okay, fine.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: So then I go up front and the lady, I yeah, and I walk up, and it's a woman standing there, and she's a white woman, probably in her late 40s.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: She had some gray, but she had these piercing blue eyes, and she was smiling at me like she knew me.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: It was the weirdest thing.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Hi, um, are you here for a pedicure?
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: And she was like, Yes, I just walked in off the street and I saw this place, and I just want to get a pedicure.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: And I said, Okay, fine, come on over.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: So then I had her sit at the pedicure throne and I showed her the colors I had and she chose the color and I started working.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Now I didn't want to get into any deep conversation because I I don't have an interest in knowing who this woman is because I'll never see her again.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna do this pedicure.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: I just want to get out of here.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: And so I started doing her pedicure.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: I made sure not to look at her because I noticed she kept smiling at me.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: It was the most uncomfortable thing.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: She was smiling at me with those piercing blue eyes, and it just felt, you know, I wasn't uncomfortable, but I just felt like what does she want?
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: And so I got halfway through through the pedicure, and she said, You know, you can't quit.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: And I looked at her and I said, What?
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: And she said, You can't quit school.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: And I said, What are you talking about?
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: And she said, God sent you here because he's got a plan for you, and you cannot quit.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: And I started crying because I knew that God sent that woman.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Now, I didn't, I had never seen that woman.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna say she was now, I'm not gonna say any of that because I don't know.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: I just know that I was about I was packing my bags to go, and I was gonna go back to my old life.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: It's like when Peter, after Jesus, you know, left.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: And Peter tried to go fishing and he couldn't catch anything.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: It's because God called him from that and he was now a fisher of men, and he tried to go back to his old life because his old life was familiar and it was comfortable.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: I didn't know that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: About nails.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: I did not have a job lined up.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: I did not know what I would be paid.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: I didn't know the pay structure.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: I had worked for commission before because I used to sell cars, but I had never worked on a in a beauty industry, beauty-based, and I just didn't know.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: And so after she said that, she just leaned back and I started doing more of the pedicure.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: And when I got done, I got myself together, finished crying.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: I said, How did you find this place?
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: She said, Well, I'm in town with Paul Wilbur, and I am one of his flag women, so I danced with his, you know, with the praise team.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: And she said, and I was driving through this neighborhood because God sent me in this direction.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: And I looked over and I saw this school, and I knew I had to come in because Sky was leading me.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: And I said, So you didn't have a plan to come here?
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: She said, No, I don't even live in the state.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: I talked to her a little bit longer, and after I finished her pedicure, she gave me a really big tip and she gave me a really big hug and said, So you can't quit, right?
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: You're not gonna quit.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: And I said, No, I'm not gonna quit.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: And she left.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: And I put all my stuff back in my locker and I went home and that was that.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: And I finished up school.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: And you know what's interesting?
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: Um, within a year, that same company that gave me the job offer shut down.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: The entire mortgage industry was was was collapsing, and that company closed.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: So you may not know what God has for you, and you may not know the next step, and you may not know the plan, but if you just follow him, if you just follow him step by step, he's not gonna lead you wrong because he loves you.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: You just have to trust him.
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: Thank you for tuning in to this kingdom minute with your host, Kimberly Blakes, on the Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: You can find me on Facebook at Kimberly Blakes, and I also have a podcast called The Faith Frame Perspective.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: I'll see you guys there.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: The Revelation to John, chapter 18.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: And he called out with a mighty voice, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the Great.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues, for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Pay her back as she herself has paid back others, and repay her double for her deeds.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning, since in her heart she says, I sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: For this reason her plagues will come in a single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire, for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: And the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: They will stand far off in fear of her torment and say, Alas, alas, you great city, you mighty city, Babylon, for in a single hour your judgment has come.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your delicacies and your splendors are lost to you, never to be found again.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: The merchants of these wares who gained wealth from her will stand far off in fear for torment, weeping and mourning aloud.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Alas, alas for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with jewels and with pearls, for in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, What city was like the great city?
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: And they threw dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out, Alas, alas for the great city, where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth, for in a single hour she has been laid waste.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, So will Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and will be found no more, and the sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters will be heard in you no more, and a craftsman of any craft will be found in you no more, and the sound of the mill will be heard in you no more, and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery, and in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.
