Balloon Museum Reborn After Fire | Des Moines News

The National Balloon Museum in Indianola is finally reopening this Friday, fresh from a two-and-a-half-year rebuild after a devastating 2024 fire. Gone are the carpets, in are polished concrete floors and bold new wall graphics telling the full story of ballooning — from wartime to local competition. Hidden gems like a WWI basket and a miraculously intact stained glass window were rediscovered, sparking a brand-new exhibit.
